Trader Joe's New Summer-Ready Planters Are 'the Cutest' — and Going Quick
It's summertime, which means your home gardening efforts may be in high gear.
Luckily, Trader Joe's has been unveiling a number of summer-friendly products of late, particularly one line of planters that will cater to your green thumb.
The beloved grocery chain now has a unique set of bird-shaped planters stocked on its shelves, though Better Homes & Gardens reports that they're going fast.

Priced at just $7, each pot comes in a variety of different colors: bright blue, light pink, black, and white tropical birds. Judging by the Instagram carousel above, they all seem to be equally "cute" indeed.
The bird planter itself has no drainage hole on the base, Better Homes & Gardens reported on Sunday, June 14, but the miniature plants inside come in their very own removable nursery pot. This makes them easier to water, fertilize and replant as needed.
Trader Joe's has been known for their stylish planters in the past. Anyone else remember those disco ball ones that went viral over this past New Year's holiday? And it wasn't the first time — the planters have been a fan-favorite for a few years now, and they only seem to be available for a few days before and after New Year’s. And of course, they often sell out quickly.

'80s Rock Band Announces 2026 Tour With Special Guests
Men at Work is heading home for a major tour this fall.
The Grammy-winning Australian rock band announced on Instagram that it will join the Red Hot Summer Tour 2026, a traveling festival that will take the group across Australia this fall.
"Australia, get ready — Men At Work is joining Red Hot Summer Tour 2026!" the band wrote. "From October 17 – November 15, catch the band performing across Australia alongside an incredible lineup of artists."
Joining Men at Work on the tour will be special guests Birds of Tokyo, Vika & Linda, Eskimo Joe, Boom Crash Opera and Ella Hooper. The tour kicks off Oct. 17 at Queens Park in Toowoomba before making stops in Sandstone Point, Berry, Manly, Hunter Valley, Coolangatta, Ballarat, Mornington, Swan Valley and Glenelg.
According to the band's announcement, presale tickets begin June 23 at 10 a.m. AEST, with general ticket sales launching June 25.
Men at Work became one of Australia's biggest musical exports during the early 1980s, thanks to a string of international hits led by Colin Hay's distinctive vocals and songwriting. The band's debut album, Business as Usual, became a worldwide phenomenon, producing classics including "Who Can It Be Now?," "Down Under" and "Be Good Johnny."
"Down Under" proved especially successful, reaching No. 1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and charts around the world while becoming an enduring anthem celebrating Australian culture.
“I’d had these lyrics in my head for a while – 'Do you come from a land Down Under?' – and I would sing them over this percussion thing in the car," Hay said in an interview with Classic Pop. "They just kind of fit. I got excited by that, so I kept doing that for a few hours. The next day I wrote the chord structure and the lyrics, and the track all of a sudden sprang to life."
The band went on to earn the 26th Annual Grammy Awards award for Best New Artist, cementing its place among the defining acts of the decade.
"America was the last place to pick up on the band," Hay told Classic Bands. "It was actually about a year after the record was successful in other parts of the world that the American record company released it. They certainly weren't looking to Australia for guidance as to what was going to happen in America. It was only really after it started to sell records in different parts of the world and people started playing it in America that the record company decided that they could make it work and released it."
More than 40 years after first topping the charts, Men at Work continues to perform for audiences around the globe.
Now, alongside a lineup featuring some of Australia's most beloved contemporary rock acts, the band is set to bring its timeless catalog back to fans across the country as part of one of the nation's biggest concert tours of 2026.

2006 Willie Nelson Cover Became a Cult-Classic LGBTQ+ Country Anthem
Willie Nelson has no shortage of iconic songs, but there's one track with a very special meaning to the LGBTQ+ community.
In 2006, the country legend released a cover of the 1981 song "Cowboys Are Frequently, Secretly Fond of Each Other," originally written and performed by Latin country musician Ned Sublette, and Nelson's version later turned into a cult-classic LGBTQ+ country anthem.
Nelson released his rendition of the song in February 2006, just a couple months after Brokeback Mountain, the critically-acclaimed LGBTQ+ cowboy film starring Jake Gyllenhaal and Heath Ledger, came out in December 2005.
Nelson's rendition of the song became one of the first queer-themed country songs to reach mainstream success. It even charted on the Billboard Hot 100 in March 2026, peaking at the No. 52 position.
But Nelson later released another version of the song nearly two decades later when he teamed up with queer country artist Orville Peck for a duet in 2024.
The duet was released as the lead single from Peck's Stampede album, and he and Nelson even collaborated on a music video together, which was directed by Ben Prince and filmed at Nelson's Luck Ranch in Spicewood, Tex.
Peck has previously opened up about his own personal connection with the song in a 2024 interview with Paper magazine, explaining that he used to cover "from time to time" during his live shows. While calling it the "landmark gay country song," Peck noted that it was Nelson's idea to perform a duet together, as he remembered the 93-year-old icon telling him, "We should do that as a duet, because it's more important now than ever. I feel like it should have another life."
"Willie is so cool because he's always been an outlaw," Peck added at the time. "So it is very affirming, having gotten to know Willie over the years now, to see that he is even more that person to his core than I could have ever imagined."
1980 Hard Rock Classic, Initially Rejected by 23 Record Labels, Became a Timeless Anthem of Rebellion
Considering the fact that Joan Jett is one of the most iconic rock stars of all time, it's hard to imagine there was ever a time when she couldn't get a record deal. But after the Runaways broke up in 1979, the music business decided Jett was old news...and she was only 21 years old at the time.
Of course, Jett's musical career was actually just beginning, and all the challenges she faced only made her more motivated. In fact, her fury over the way male music execs treated her helped to inspire one of her biggest hits: "Bad Reputation."
“It’s about Joan having been kind of a wild woman in the Runaways, and us trying to make a record deal, going around having people say, ‘No, she’s too crazy, like the punks and Nazis,'" songwriter Kenny Laguna, who co-wrote the song with Jett, told Songfacts.
"Joan had this bad reputation, no label would sign her — that’s why we own the records,” he continued. “I was trying to give her the advice of an old man, but she was a teenager at the time, and she says, ‘Look, I don’t care about my bad reputation.’ I said, ‘Whoa, there’s the song.'”
Laguna was right: As everybody knows, "Bad Reputation" went on to become one of Jett's most beloved songs, with a music video that chronicled Jett's string of rejections from a whopping 23 record labels. Rolling Stone ranked the song #249 on a list of "The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time," noting, "Jett still has her bad reputation, and she still doesn’t give a damn."
"Everyone feels maybe they’ve got a bad reputation in one area of their life or another, or maybe [have been] unfairly accused — or just a misconception of who you are, and people throw that label at you," Jett told RS in a 2022 interview.

"I always wore it as a badge of honor, because what people were saying to me was I had a bad reputation because I played an electric guitar and I had black hair and a leather jacket, and maybe I swore," she continued. "So I turned around the meaning of it, and I’m proud of my bad reputation, if that’s what it is — making people uncomfortable because you’re not used to seeing women do this or that."
Jett went on to point out that women who aren't in the music business have to deal with the same "hard glass ceiling."
"It’s every walk of life," she said. "When I speak to women and girls pursuing their dreams...it’s still there. But we have good PR, so we feel like we’ve come farther than we really have."
Decades later, "Bad Reputation" is more than just a hit song — it's become a huge part of pop culture. In addition to appearing in movies like Shrek and 10 Things I Hate About You, "Bad Reputation" was the theme song for Freaks and Geeks. And it's still relevant to pioneering women everywhere...just ask Taylor Swift, who used "Bad Reputation" as the entrance music for her 2018 tour.

1971 Rock Classic, Lasting Nearly 8 Minutes, Became a Timeless Road Trip Anthem
When The Doors released "L.A. Woman" in 1971, the nearly eight-minute track served as both a celebration of Los Angeles and an unforgettable farewell.
Released as the title track from the band's final album recorded with Jim Morrison, "L.A. Woman" has since become one of classic rock's definitive road trip songs, its driving blues groove perfectly matching the feeling of cruising through Southern California.
The song appeared on L.A. Woman, an album that found the band returning to its blues roots after experimenting with orchestral arrangements on its previous release. Recording sessions took place in the workshop of the group's rehearsal space rather than a traditional studio, giving the album a loose, live energy that perfectly suited its material.
"L.A. Woman" became the centerpiece of those sessions.
Built around a hypnotic boogie rhythm, the song stretches nearly eight minutes as Morrison delivers one of the most spirited vocal performances of his career. His lyrics paint vivid pictures of Los Angeles, weaving together images of freeways, nightlife and desert landscapes into what many fans consider a love letter to the city the band called home.
"'L.A. Woman' is just a fast, L.A. kickass, freeway driving song in the key of A with barely any chord changes at all," keyboardist Ray Manzarek told Best Classic Bands. "And it just goes. It’s like Neal Cassady, Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg heading from L.A. up to Bakersfield on the 5 Freeway. Let’s go, man."
The recording also marked the final time Morrison would enter a studio with The Doors. Just weeks after the album's release, Morrison moved to Paris with longtime partner Pamela Courson to focus on writing poetry. On July 3, 1971, he died at the age of 27, bringing one of rock's most celebrated careers to a sudden end.
That history has given "L.A. Woman" additional emotional weight over the years. Although never intended as a farewell song, it became the closing chapter of Morrison's recording career and one of the defining statements of The Doors' legacy.
Musically, the track showcases every element that made the band unique. Guitarist Robby Krieger delivers one of his finest blues-inspired performances, while Manzarek's signature keyboard work and John Densmore's steady groove create the perfect backdrop for Morrison's evocative storytelling.
"I'm glad that L.A .Woman was our last album," Krieger told Music Radar. "It really captured what we were all about. The first record did, too, but L.A. Woman is more loose, it's live - it sounds almost like a rehearsal. It's pure Doors."
More than 50 years later, "L.A. Woman" remains a fixture on classic rock radio and streaming playlists. Its rolling rhythm, expansive runtime and unmistakable sense of motion have made it an enduring soundtrack for long drives, particularly along the highways that inspired it.
For generations of listeners, "L.A. Woman" is more than just one of The Doors' greatest songs. It's a timeless road trip anthem and a fitting final masterpiece from one of rock's most legendary bands.

Bunnie XO and Jelly Roll Separated After Affair Years Before Divorce Filing
Despite how their relationship appeared to fans, Bunnie XO opened up about Jelly Roll's year-long affair early in their marriage.
"We got married a month after meeting," she told Kelly Clarkson in February. "We eloped in Vegas, and when you marry somebody who's from a completely opposite side of the train tracks as you...we both were just so hardheaded and stubborn."

Jen Hamilton Shares Emotional Marriage Update, Confirms Separation from Husband of 14 Years
Jen Hamilton is opening up about her separation from husband Brian Hamilton after nearly 14 years of marriage.
The labor and delivery nurse and influencer first hinted at trouble in her marriage in a since-deleted TikTok shared on Saturday, June 13.
“Day 1: absolutely devastated. Please don’t try to reach out to anybody on my behalf. That would make everything so much worse for me. Please just let me grieve,” she captioned a video of her crying. “My heart is absolutely shattered.”
“He broke my heart but I still love him with all the pieces 💔,” she added.
In a new TikTok shared on Monday, June 15, Hamilton shared more insight into what was happening behind the scenes.
"A publicist said that I should make a statement when I'm ready. There is no being ready, but there's already a bunch of articles about it, so I might as well just rip the band aid off and put it out there in the wind," she began. "But I didn't want a publicist statement and I didn't want a ChatGPT statement. I wanted it to be something that we came up with together and I called him, and that's what we did."
Hamilton then shared the couple's official statement on screen, which read, "Yes, we are separating. This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship. What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center."
"We are hoping our paths diverging in physical location will make space and room for mental healing for the other. We still are committed to being a team. We even wrote this together (and without ChatGPT)," the statement continued. "We both want to be very clear. This wasn't about falling out of love. That's why this is so devastating. It was about recognizing that sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give someone space to figure out complex things. And that's exactly what we are doing."

Hamilton then said that she was "very embarrassed" about putting a video of herself crying on the internet and that she "never should of done it," but she was in a moment of "searing pain" and just wanted someone to tell her that things were going to be okay.
"I'm gonna be all right. People live through this all the time," she continued. "I know that not one of y'all owes me a damn thing, but if I could just have two requests. Number one would be to stop speculating, because none of y'all got it right, okay? And also only me and him know what happened, and I am the one that devastatingly, intrepidity asked for this."
"My next request is that you just be nice," Hamilton added. "He is my bestest friend still. There's no meanness, there's no yelling, there's no animosity between the two of us. I want him to win. I want him to be the very, very best version of himself, one that he's never even seen before."
The social media star ended her video by asking for privacy for her husband and two kids, noting she takes full accountability for how news of the separation became public.
Hamilton previously revealed in a 2022 TikTok post that she and her husband had separated once before, but ultimately reconciled.
Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO Opened Up About IVF Journey Months Before Divorce
Prior to their shocking divorce news, Bunnie Xo and Jelly Roll were open about their struggles to conceive.
Bunnie — real name Alissa DeFord — helped raise Jelly's two children: Daughter Bailee Ann DeFord and son Noah Buddy DeFord. However, when the couple decided to grow their family together, Bunnie struggled to get pregnant.
"I don't know if it's that I did or if I didn't choose it, but I think before we come here, we choose our life path, and we yearn for the pain that we go through," she told People in February. "And I genuinely think that having those abortions when I was younger [and] the journey that I'm going on now with IVF [is] God's putting me through this again, so that I can be a voice for those women who are going through this process."
The Dumb Blonde podcast host called the infertility journey "one of the hardest things I've ever had to go through."
"So God is… Everything happens for a reason. It always comes around full circle," she added.
Bunnie and Jelly — real name Jason DeFord — met in 2015, before he became one of the biggest names in country music. The pair were thick as thieves as they battled addiction together. She was also by his side during his journey to lose nearly 300 pounds.
Despite being one of Nashville's hottest couples, news broke on Monday, June 15, that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce in Tennessee the month prior. According to TMZ, the decision to split was mutual.
The "Son of a Sinner" artist first opened up about their decision to turn to IVF during a June 2024 appearance on the Bussin' With the Boyspodcast.
"My wife and I are talking about having a baby," he said at the time. "It really made me realize at almost 40, I was like, that means I got to live to at least 60 -- I got to see this kid into college."
He added, amid his health journey, "My plan was never to be 60 it was to be like 55…Now I'm like, well I'd like to see my 60s you know what I mean."

Behind the scenes of the 2008 film, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a secret feud was reportedly forming during production.
Steven Spielberg, HarrisonFord, and George Lucas disagreed about how the film should end. A recent Vulturearticle exposed their creative differences.
The franchise’s producer Kathleen Kennedy shared, “Steven was struggling with that movie. Harrison was struggling with the movie. They didn’t want to do a Raiders movie that involved aliens, and they kind of got into a fight with George about it.”
Lucas had a different vision than the director and lead actor.
“I wanted it to be kind of a War of the Worlds sort of thing,” Lucas recalled. “Harrison said, ‘I’m not going to do another science-fiction movie.’ And Steven said, ‘I’m not going to do another science-fiction movie.’ I said, ‘Steven, this is perfect because it’s the 1950s, when flying saucers were a whole thing,’ but he said ‘no.’ We did about five scripts, and finally Steve and I compromised: ‘Look, what if they’re not aliens but from another dimension.'”
The film takes place in 1957 as the titular character fights the Soviet KGB to uncover a telepathic crystal skull. Reviews were mixed for the film, but it made a whooping $786.6 million at the box office worldwide.
“Harrison and Steven were not 100 percent on board,” Kennedy said, referencing the sci-fi ending. “That’s why the movie, out of the four that Steven made, is the weakest.”
“And that’s why Harrison was so deeply committed to Destiny. He didn’t want that to be the end,” the producer said.
The 2023 film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny was directed by James Mangold and is the only film in the series not directed by Spielberg. It received mediocre reviews and made $384 million at the box office worldwide, losing the studio $130 million.

Dairy Queen is reportedly releasing three new Blizzard flavors and one new Misty Slush Float flavor just in time for the official start of summer—and the Fourth of July.
On Monday, June 15, food blogger Snackolator took to Instagram and Facebook to share a sneak peek at the upcoming lineup.
"Dairy Queen is about to celebrate the 4th in STYLE with a new Misty Float and THREE new Blizzard flavors!" he captioned the update, which featured a photo of the tasty-looking treats. "These are all speculated to drop in July."
First up is the Stars & Stripes Misty Slush Float, which, as Snackolator relayed, features "layers of Cherry Misty Slush, soft serve and Blue Raspberry Misty Slush that's topped with festive star sprinkles."
Next, Dairy Queen will reportedly offer a new Strawberry Mango Mochi Blizzard, which the food blogger noted is "mango mochi pieces and strawberry topping blended with soft serve."
The second new ice cream treat is the Biscoff Cookie Blizzard featuring "crunchy, caramelized Biscoff Cookies blended with soft serve."
Finally, Dairy Queen customers will soon be able to order a Mexican-Style Hot Chocolate with Abuelita Blizzard. It's made with Abuelita Mexican Hot Chocolate mix, chocolate chunks, marshmallows, and cocoa fudge blended with soft serve.

In the comments, Snackolator's follower shared their enthusiastic reactions to the new Blizzards and Misty Slush Float, also sharing the flavor they are most looking forward to. One Instagram user declared, "Oh my God, I need the Biscoff Blizzard to be real."

The country music world was left in shock on Monday, June 15, when news broke that Jelly Roll had filed for divorce from wife Bunnie XO.
According to TMZ, Jelly Roll — real name Jason DeFord — filed to legally split from his wife in May. The divorce was reportedly a mutual decision, sources told the outlet.

1973 Power Ballad, Ranked Among Iconic Band's 'Greatest Songs of All Time,' Is Making a Sudden Resurgence 53 Years Later
The term "power ballad" gets thrown around a lot, but few of the songs described that way are anywhere near as powerful as The Who's classic "Love Reign o'er Me."
Originally written by Pete Townshend for a rock opera that never came to fruition (the working title was Rock Is Dead – Long Live Rock), "Love Reign o'er Me" ended up being the final track on the 1973 album Quadrophenia. Though the song never made it to the top of the charts, as a beloved live concert staple, it's been one of the band's most popular tunes for over half a century and is considered by many fans and critics to be one of their best.
In 2022, Rolling Stone ranked "Love Reign o'er Me" at #5 on a list of The Who's 50 Greatest Songs; a decade earlier, Paste ranked it at #1 on a list of the band's top 20 tracks. And now, in 2026, the song seems to be making a major comeback.
First, in April, "Love Reign o'er Me" was featured in the highly anticipated official trailer for the upcoming Hunger Games prequel, Sunrise on the Reaping.
Scheduled for release in November of this year, the latest entry to the blockbuster franchise stars Joseph Zada, Jesse Plemons, Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, and Kelvin Harrison Jr., and takes place in Panem 24 years prior to the events of the first movie.
Now, this month, "Love Reign o'er Me" has been making the rounds in another trailer, this time for the fifth (and final) of The Bear, premiering on Hulu on June 25.
If the trailer is any indication, the song is an especially appropriate pick for this last season of The Bear, as many of the scenes involve the characters dealing with an intense rainstorm and serious flooding in the restaurant (not to mention the ever-present financial stress that's been a major plot point all along).
As Townshend once explained, per American Songwriter, the lyrics for "Love Reign o'er Me" are about Jimmy, the main character in Quadrophenia, having a spiritual experience...and was inspired by something Townshend's guru said.
"It refers to Meher Baba's one time comment that rain was a blessing from God; that thunder was God's voice," Townshend said.
"It's another plea to drown, only this time in the rain," he continued. "Jimmy goes through a suicide crisis. He surrenders to the inevitable, and you know, you know, when it's over and he goes back to town he'll be going through the same s—t, being in the same terrible family situation and so on, but he's moved up a level. He's weak still, but there's a strength in that weakness. He's in danger of maturing."
1983 Pop Classic, Almost Thrown in the Trash, Now at the Center of a $2 Million Lawsuit
A song that was almost thrown in the trash during its making, now has more than three billion streams on Spotify alone.
The men who say they saved it from obscurity want their fair share.
Back in 1983, The Police were trying to put together a new song, but Sting and Stewart Copeland couldn't agree on what the bass and drums should be. Guitarist Andy Summers says the whole thing was about to get scrapped. "'Every Breath You Take' was going in the trash until I played on it," he said. Whatever he added, it clicked. The song became the band's legacy and one of the biggest hits of the decade.
"Every Breath You Take" remained at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for eight weeks, The Police's only time at the top in the US, and it was the best-selling single of 1983. Forty-something years later it's still playing everywhere, on the radio, at weddings, and in commercials. Even though the lyrics aren't really a love song at all. It's about watching someone's every move. People just never really noticed. On Spotify alone it now has more than three billion streams.
The Song That Saved Itself Is Now Worth Fighting OverThose three billion streams are exactly why there's a court case now.
Summers and Copeland say the whole thing goes back to a deal the three of them made by word of mouth when the band first got together in 1977. The way it worked: Sting, as the main songwriter, would take the biggest cut, and the other two would get an "arranger's fee" of around 15 percent for everything they brought to the finished versions of the songs. Summers, who'd already spent years playing professionally with Soft Machine and The Animals before The Police came along, says what he brought to "Every Breath You Take" wasn't insignificant.

The fight in court now comes down to one simple question. Does that 1977 word-of-mouth deal, last updated in writing in 1997 and again in 2016, cover streaming the same way it covered physical records? Sting's side says the original agreement only covers royalties "from the manufacture of records," and that streaming is more like a public performance than a sale. Summers and Copeland say that argument ignores how people actually listen to music now, given that physical formats make up only a tiny fraction of what the music business looks like today. Streaming wasn’t a thing in 1983 so it wasn’t included in the deal but that doesn’t diminish the contributions that Summers and Copeland made.
Summers and Copeland say they're owed approximately $2 million. Sting has already sent his former bandmates $870,000 since they filed last year, which came to light when the case hit the High Court. However, they say that doesn't account for interest that would have accrued while the money was unpaid.
The Police broke up in 1986, but the songs have only gotten more valuable since.
Forty-three years ago, "Every Breath You Take" almost didn't survive its own recording session. Now, it's racking up billions of streams and a court in London is working out what that's actually worth to the people who contributed to its creation.
Jelly Roll Files for Divorce From Bunnie XO
Jelly Roll has filed from divorced from his wife, Bunnie XO, TMZ reports.
According to court documents obtained by the outlet, the singer filed for divorce in May in Tennessee, with sources adding that it was a "mutual decision by the two and a private family matter."
The two met in 2015 and married in August 2016. They renewed their wedding vows in 2023. While they don't share any biological children, the two had been open about their IVF journey. Jelly Roll also has two children from previous relationships: Bailee Ann and Noah Buddy.
Bunnie XO and Jelly Roll have been very open about their relationship, specifically revealing that in 2018, she discovered he had been having a 10-month affair.
Jelly Roll called it "one of the worst moments" of his life during an October 2025 podcast appearance, adding that he put "a lot of work to repair” their marriage.
“One of the worst moments of my adulthood was when I had an affair on my wife,” he said on the Human School podcast. “Because it was the first time that I was like, ‘I really can’t get this right at all. I know I’m in love with this woman.’ It just really, really, really blew me back.”
Bunnie XO also opened up about it during her new tell-all memoir, Stripped Down: Unfiltered and Unapologetic, and Jelly Roll spoke with PEOPLE in February about his reaction to reading the book.
“It was rough at times just for me to read it," he admitted. "You know what I mean? We went through a lot of pain and having to go through it together, but reading the whole book and seeing where it ended at is really touching.”
“I'm just proud of her for telling her story so unapologetically,” he added. “I mean, she talks about everything fearlessly, from domestic assault to sexual assault. I'm just proud of her. She's so brave.”

'80s Pop Star Debbie Gibson Finally Opens Up About Comparisons to Tiffany -- and She Didn't Hold Back
The biggest pop rivalry of 1987 was decided by a magazine editor, and had nothing to do with the artists involved.
That’s what Debbie Gibson has been saying for years. And in a recent episode of the Unfamous podcast, she said it again, this time with a little less patience.
"It's a drag for both of us," Gibson said.
Nearly four decades later, she is still being asked about a feud that never even happened between two teenagers who were much too busy to even know each other.

Gibson was writing and producing her own material, about to become the youngest female songwriter to top the charts with "Foolish Beat." Both were just teenagers, 16 and 17 years old. Both were on every magazine cover that teenagers were buying.

So the media decided they must hate each other and be arch rivals.
"We are so different," Gibsons explained. She compared it to lumping Whitney Houston and Belinda Carlisle together just because they happened to be the same age.
The reality was way less scandalous. Two teen girls on opposite coasts were each working so hard that they rarely crossed paths. It was the 1980s so there was no texting or social media, just the occasional quick exchange at a radio event or an awards show.

When they did see each other, the conversation was brief and warm. "How are you doing? How are you holding up?" Gibson recalled in a 2018 HuffPost interview. "Who had time to not get along? We were both doing our own things."
The rivalry existed entirely in the pages of Bop and Tiger Beat. The artists themselves never got the memo.
The Friendship That Proved the Fiction WrongThe two finally spent actual time together in 2011, while filming Mega Python vs. Gatoroid. That's when the supposed enemies became real friends.
"We would go on each other's buses and just talk, have a cup of tea like girlfriends," Tiffany said in 2019.

They toured together after that and have remained close ever since. Gibson has described the experience of finally getting to know Tiffany as finding a kindred spirit not a rival.
"I always felt it was a bit like looking in the mirror," she said, "because she and I were both the only two American female teenagers doing what we were doing at the level we were doing it."

That shared experience, two young women navigating enormous fame with no real blueprint, was something nobody else around them could fully understand but one another. The magazines that pitted them against each other missed the more interesting story entirely.
In 2026, Gibson is still setting the record straight but its getting old. The questions keep coming, the answer stays the same, and her patience for the whole thing continues to wear thin.
