Mon, 04/20/2026 - 10:07pm

Queen Elizabeth II was one of the most famous people in the world. Throughout her 70-year reign, she had unbelievable photo-ops with some of the most iconic stars and famous figures in history.

She met a whopping 13 US presidents, including Harry Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, John F. Kennedy, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford,Jimmy Carter, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, Donald Trump, and Joe Biden. The only president she did not meet during her reign was Lyndon B. Johnson, reportedly due to scheduling conflicts and political pressure amid the Vietnam War. Elizabeth also met four popes: John XXIII, John Paul II, Benedict XVI, and Francis

She didn't limit herself to rubbing elbows with political figures. Elizabeth was known to meet with a variety of people across academic and artistic pursuits, including artists, musicians, and actors. Keep scrolling to see the queen’s most unbelievable photo ops.

Elizabeth and Marilyn Monroe were both 30 years old during their first and only meeting in October 1956 at the film premiere of The Battle of the River Plate in London.

"Apparently, The Queen said to friends at the palace that she thought Marilyn was lovely, but she felt sorry for her," royal author Michelle Morgan told Fox News, explaining that the actress was so nervous "she had licked all of her lipstick off."

1965 Musical Ranked No. 1 Best Dance Scene in a Period Movie

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 10:05pm

One of the best parts of watching a period drama is a gorgeous dance scene. Dance moves and music can turn back time for viewers. A specific moment from The Sound of Music was ranked number one for dance scenes in the genre.

Maria and Captain von Trapp’s Dance in ‘The Sound of Music'

The movie adapted the musical withJulie Andrews playing Maria and Christopher Plummeras Captain Georg von Trapp. Maria is a nun sent to be the governess of the captain's seven children in Austria. The story is based on the true story of the singing family who escaped the Nazis.

Related: 2007 Film Ranked the ‘Most Violent Musical Movie’ of All Time

Andrews sings and dances in multiple scenes, bringing joy to children who struggled after losing their mother. Ms. Mojo ranked the scene of Maria and the captain dancing outside the party.

They were demonstrating how to dance with a partner for his children. It's obvious they realize their feelings for each other, which is inconvienent since the captain is engaged.

"The moment when the stuffy patriarch shows his romantic side," the narrator said in the ranking video. Plummer's character smiles throughout the dance, which is far from his stoic demeanor at the beginning of the story. The moment is important to the story since it leads to the characters either accepting or running away from their feelings for each other.

It's been over 60 years since the movie's release, and one of the stars continues to work in period movies. Andrews is now 90 years old and the voice of Lady Whistledown in Bridgerton. The Netflix series is a Regency-era drama with beautiful dancing scenes.

1979 Classic Ballad Won an Oscar for 'Best Original Song' 47 Years Ago

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 10:00pm

Of all the singers to land chart-topping songs in the '70s and '80s, Jennifer Warnes holds a particularly unique distinction: She performed more Oscar-nominated and Oscar-winning songs than any other living artist in the history of the Academy Awards, from "One More Hour" to "Up Where We Belong" (a duet with Joe Cocker) to "(I've Had) The Time of My Life" (a duet with Bill Medley).

Her very first Oscar win, however, wasn't a duet at all. Written by David Shire and Norman Gimbel, "It Goes Like It Goes" was recorded by Warnes for the classic 1979 film Norma Rae. The song plays over the opening credits of the movie, which stars Sally Field as union activist Crystal Lee Sutton, and won the Oscar for Best Original Song that same year.

The lyrics are a perfect fit for the film's tale of working class struggles:

"Ain't no miracle being born / People doing it everyday / Ain't no miracle growing old
People just roll that way / So it goes like it goes / And the river flows / And time / It rolls right on / And maybe what's good gets a little bit better / And maybe what's bad gets gone"

As Warnes told Smashing Interviews in 2018, it wasn't necessarily a "conscious effort" on her part to become an "in-demand singer for film soundtracks."

"There are two ways of looking at that," Warnes explained. "One is, I never had a Colonel Parker management. I didn’t have a manager. I had a plan. I pretty much followed, if a job was offered to me, and I liked the challenge and could learn something, I would take it irrespective of the pay because I was trying to be the best. I was trying to learn as much as I could possibly learn about singing, but there’s no place to go to learn these things except through the jobs that are offered to you."

Jennifer Warnes got her second Oscar nomination for 'One More Hour' from the 'Ragtime' soundtrack

"Randy Newman gave me Ragtime because he knew my work," she continued. "We had performed together at the Troubadour. That was either the first one or the second one. I can’t remember. Then there was the theme from Norma Rae. The people who were hiring me knew my work, so it wasn’t planned at all. I was doing other things in between."

"It’s more difficult for a woman in my era, as you probably know," Warnes added. "Very few women had the luxury of choosing what they wanted to do. They did what’s coming down the road, and if it’s in the road, it’s yours to take. I did pretty much do that. If I got an offer and it was reasonable, I would just take it and figure out a way to make it work unless it was offensive, then I wouldn’t take it. But I took singing in front, singing in back and singing behind the camera, anything that worked to learn how to do this better. So the career just came."

And what a career it's been.

The Beach Boys have announced a new addition to their upcoming The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day, introducing a "Meditate with Mike Love" experience as part of the event's growing lineup.

Set to take place on May 16 in Santa Monica, California, the event blends music, movement and community, celebrating 60 years of The Beach Boys' iconic album, Pet Sounds, while also supporting environmental efforts. The band is partnering with the Surfrider Foundation, encouraging participants to contribute to initiatives focused on protecting coastlines, reducing plastic pollution and improving ocean health.

Now, with the addition of meditation led by frontman Mike Love, the event is taking on an even more holistic feel.

"As a veteran meditator and yoga practitioner, I am thrilled and honored to be a part of this special day in Santa Monica, my backyard, celebrating wellness and community," Love shared via Instagram. "Congratulations to everyone participating in the 5K run. Remember, take good care of your feet, stretch, hydrate, but most of all have FUN FUN FUN. Namaste."

The meditation offering builds on the event's broader focus on health and connection, giving fans a chance to engage with the band in a more personal and unexpected way.

The Beach Boys 5K & Wellness Day already invites attendees to run or walk along the Pacific while supporting a meaningful cause, but the addition of “Meditate with Mike Love” helps turn the event into a more lifestyle-driven experience, one that blends the band's laid-back California roots with mindfulness and community.

As the band continues its 2026 tour, this first-of-its-kind move shows how even legacy acts are finding new ways to connect with fans—proving that their influence extends far beyond the stage.

A home should be a sanctuary, yet it often becomes a collection of unorganized belongings that disrupt our peace of mind. Achieving a sense of order doesn't require a total home renovation; instead, it centers on intentionally selecting furniture that maximizes space. When every item has a dedicated place, the visual noise of daily life diminishes, allowing for a calmer, more focused existence. Smart home design is about reclaiming your square footage through efficiency, foresight, and high-quality utility.

The hallmark of exceptional interior design is flexibility. As our lifestyles change, our homes must evolve alongside us. Choosing pieces that can pivot between different roles—functioning as a display case one day and a heavy-duty storage solution the next—is the ultimate hack for modern living. Clean lines and minimalist aesthetics are particularly effective in small spaces, as they prevent a room from feeling crowded or heavy. By selecting furniture with a timeless, neutral appeal, you create a foundation that allows your personal style to shine while keeping your belongings organized, accessible, and clutter-free.

Pedro Pascal Looks Like a ‘Sexy Movie Star’ in New Photoshoot

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:41pm

In 2023, Pedro Pascal was named Sexiest Man Alive by People. Gracing the front cover, the magazine called him the “sexiest dad on TV.” Now, three years later, he’s back for another sexy front cover photoshoot with Fantastic Man.

Sitting on a vibrant green bike wearing pearl Chanel aviator glasses, jean shorts, and a red vest, Fantastic Man captioned the front cover picture as “sexy movie star Pedro Pascal … photographed by Ethan James Green for a feature full of giddy excitement.”

View this post on Instagram

In another photo, Pascal donned a white shirt from Chanel. He also wore his stylist’s pair of socks and vintage suede boots from What Goes Around Comes Around. The photoshoot later took Pascal to Chinatown, New York City, wearing a shirt by Ralph Lauren.

In the cover story written by Seb Emina, Pascal opened up about what his experience was like appearing in Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show. He said that he wanted to participate in his show regardless of what that looked like.

“I wanted to participate in any way – literally a volunteer position, like serving coffee if needed – and I put the feelers out through people I work with,” Pascal said to the magazine. “When it comes to representation synchronised with celebration, there’s no one better than Benito at the moment, and that fills me with inspiration outside of just being super into his music.”

After lamenting about not hearing back from Bad Bunny’s team, Pascal said he sent an email with a selfie of him sticking his tongue out. “It’s really me,” he said. Not long after, they offered for him to come be part of the show.

Pascal also opened up about his styling and grooming. He told Fantastic Man that he loves “to look at a rack” and collaborate.

“I think in my day-to-day I cycle between five T-shirts, and I’m still pretending like it’s lockdown,” Pascal said in the interview. “But I’m learning, and you know what? It’s never too late to learn. … I have a big eye for how I want to express myself when it comes to anything that is going to have exposure.”

Pascal’s latest movie, The Mandalorian & Grogu, will be released in theaters on May 22. Directed by Jon Favreau, the film follows Din Djarin (played by Pascal) and his apprentice Grogu as the New Republic works to protect what they’ve fought for.

What Were the Challenges on 'Top Chef' Season 23 Episode 7?

The Quickfire Challenge was Cracker Barrel themed. I assumed it would be because it was founded in the Carolinas, but it was not (it was founded in Tennessee). So, that's a bit of a stretch, but they gotta fit in the sponsors somehow.

Anyway, they were tasked with cooking a complete day's worth of meals: breakfast, lunch and dinner. The guest judges were Madison LeCroy and Craig Conover from Bravo show Southern Charm, which takes place in Charleston, South Carolina. They were randomly put into three teams of three:

  • Yellow: Brandon (breakfast), Anthony (lunch) and Jonathan (dinner)
  • Green: Justin (breakfast), Duyen (lunch) and Jennifer (dinner)
  • Orange: Oscar (breakfast), Sherry (lunch) and Laurence (dinner)

Related: Bobby Flay & Brooke Williamson to Face Off on ‘BBQ Brawl’ Season 7

The twist was that only one chef could cook at a time and they had 45 minutes total. So, do you divide into 15-minute chunks or give one of the meals more time? The prize was $12,000 to split between the three members of the winner team.

The winner team ended up being the yellow team's meal:

  • Brandon made eggs benedict over hashbrowns and "shortcut" hollandaise sauce.
  • Anthony made a fried green tomato and country ham sandwich with salmon roe and avocado.
  • Jonathan made smothered steak with bourbon pan gravy.

For the Elimination Challenge, actress Melissa Benoit was there as the guest judge because she's a huge Top Chef fan. The challenge tasked the chefs with a dessert challenge—take a well-known Southern dessert and reimagine it in three hours, then 60 Top Chef superfans were the voters who got to pick the winner.

Here's how the dessert assignments shook out:

  • Anthony: Apple stack cake
  • Brandon: Banana pudding
  • Duyen: Caramel cake
  • Jennifer: Atlantic beach pie
  • Jonathan: Chocolate chess pie
  • Justin: Ambrosia salad
  • Laurence: Coconut cake
  • Oscar: Moravian sugar cake
  • Sherry: Sonker

Reminder: Laurence had immunity this week for winning best dish last week.

The superfans vote named these the Top 3: Laurence, Anthony and Sherry, with the winner being Anthony by one vote! So he is safe next week, which is huge for Restaurant Wars.

The judges named the Bottom 3 at judges table: Duyen, Justin and Oscar, and in the end, Justin was sent home.

Related: Guy Fieri Drops Surprise ‘Tournament of Champions’ Season 8 Announcement During TOC VII Finale

However, with quite a bit of the episode left, host Kristen Kish called everyone back to judges table to congratulate them on making it halfway through—next week is Restaurant Wars! And instead of getting a night off, they jumped right in to starting their restaurant. They had 36 hours and right then and there, they had to form two teams of four.

They divided up Duyen, Sherry, Laurence and Anthony vs Brandon, Jonathan, Jennifer and Oscar. At first glance, that first group seems like it's going to mop the floor with the other team, but we've seen the strongest teams completely fail at Restaurant Wars before.

Then they drop the hammer: not only do they have to do the regular Restaurant Wars plan, but they also have to field take-out orders. Oh, wow.

But while all this was happening, Jennifer had a weird paralysis/drag thing happening to the left side of her face, so she had to go to the emergency room and the show asked her to leave the competition. She will be invited back for a future season if she would like to return. In her place, Justin was asked to step into the team for Restaurant Wars next week, but he chose to leave the competition to go be with her in the hospital.

However… (SPOILERS AHEAD for Last Chance Kitchen).

On Last Chance Kitchen, Justin decided to compete. What judge Tom Colicchio explained was that Justin took two days to be with Jennifer and when she was discharged and headed home, he then decided to take his place in LCK. So Restaurant Wars went on without him, presumably? What did they do? How did they make the teams even? We'll have to wait and find out next week.

Here's my guess, though I have no idea if this is correct: I think because Sieger was the last person eliminated before Justin, they asked Sieger back when Justin decided to leave. Then at some point, they filmed the Last Chance Kitchen where Sieger wasn't there and the remaining chefs competed for the cash prize in lieu of a battle to return to the show. Then they aired that last week as if Sieger decided not to do Last Chance Kitchen. Somewhere, I suspect there's a filmed battle between Sieger and Rhoda and we may never know who actually won that.

Now when Justin decided to take his spot in LCK, they just continued on from there like normal. That's my guess.

Diane Keaton's Iconic Belongings to Be Auctioned 6 Months After Her Death

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:36pm

Diane Keaton fans will soon be able to become the new owners of her iconic wardrobe.

Hundreds of items from the late actress's personal collection, including wardrobe, furniture, and art, are set to be auctioned off beginning in May.

"Few individuals possess the rare ability to move between disciplines while maintaining a singular and unmistakable point of view. My sister, Diane, was one such person," Dorrie Hall said of the collection in a press release. "To speak of her is to speak of instinct, an unerring visual and creative intuition that guided her across decades of artistic exploration. It is a privilege to introduce this collection and Diane’s personal world to you, which reflects not only a lifetime of looking, but a lifetime of truly seeing."

A live sale in New York titled The Diane Keaton Collection: Architecture of an Icon is scheduled for June 8. The collection will consist of more than 50 lots of the "Something's Gotta Give" star's collection, including her signature bowler hats, trinkets from her office, personal artwork, and the original script from her iconic film Annie Hall.

In addition to the live sale, there will be three online auctions, "each dedicated to one of Keaton's fundamental touchstones: high fashion, interior design & decorative arts, and storied ephemera from both her personal and professional lives," Bonhams announced.

The auctions will run from May 31 through June 11.

'DWTS' Judge Carrie Ann Inaba Speaks Out After Medical Emergency on Plane (Exclusive)

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:31pm

Dancing With the Stars judge Carrie Ann Inaba spoke out for the first time since revealing her recent medical emergency on a plane—and she did so while opening up about living with an autoimmune condition called Sjogren’s disease.

On April 16, Inaba, 58, shared an Instagram video from inside an ambulance following a scary incident during a flight.

“I was on my way to NY for something I am very passionate about. But had a small ‘medical emergency’ on the plane," she wrote in part. “I very suddenly felt quite ill. And while it seemed like food poisoning, I also suddenly broke out into a cold sweat, got dizzy, and my arms went numb.”

Inaba continued, “While I was locked in the restroom, we were also experiencing turbulence and the flight attendants had been asked to sit in their seats as well,” she continued. “I didn’t want to have anyone else put themselves at risk… but when my arms went numb, it was time to ask for help.”

View this post on Instagram

On Monday, April 20, Inaba—who lives with several autoimmune conditions, including Sjogren’s disease, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and fibromyalgia—shared a health update with Parade.

"I am much better from that," she revealed. "That was, like, sort of GI, whatever, food poisoning, and sudden. But my recovery, because I have Sjogren's, is a little slow. So I'm resting."

Inaba added, "And while I think what happened on the plane was unrelated to my Sjogren's, the Sjogren's is still a part of me as I'm healing from it. And I'm very aware that my body needed to rest after that to recuperate. And I am doing that."

As part of her partnership with Novartis, Inaba spoke about Sjogren's disease to promote the company's Sjout for Sjogren’s initiative (pronounced "Shout for SHOW-grins").

"Sjogren's disease is a systemic autoimmune disease," she explained. "And there is a widespread array of symptoms, and everybody experiences it slightly differently."

For Inaba, her symptoms started with dry eyes, also including back pain—which she initially attributed to her dance career—and extreme fatigue. She was officially diagnosed with Sjogren's disease in 2013.

View this post on Instagram

"I ended up at a rheumatologist, and a rheumatologist is the right doctor to go to when you're dealing with these kind of symptoms that are, like, unexplainable and mystery symptoms," she told Parade. "And he put it all together. He sent me to a Sjogren's specialist ophthalmologist who gave me the Schirmer's test—which is a specialized test to determine the moisture in your eyes and how quickly you're producing water and getting moisture in your eyes. And after that, I was diagnosed."

As Inaba pointed out, there is currently no FDA-approved treatment specifically for Sjogren's disease. "Which makes it very challenging," she said. "So for me, it's all about managing symptoms. And that's why I think community is so important because you can learn how other people are  managing their symptoms."

For Inaba, managing her Sjogren's disease symptoms means avoiding "anything that can cause inflammation in my body," as well as doing yoga, meditating, and doing Reiki.

"I have found that that's very helpful when you hear other people's journey, you feel less alone," she added. "...Having Sjogren's disease, specifically, is challenging because it's invisible and you can have good days where you're functioning really well and no one would think—even yourself included—that you're dealing with an autoimmune disease. "

Still, the DWTSjudge acknowledged that there are "beautiful silver linings" to her journey.

"One of them is that I have a lot of compassion and I've learned to love myself in a way that is very powerful," Inaba shared. "I've learned to speak up for myself. And I think that that's important, and I hope to inspire other people to do the same."

Walmart’s $1,100 E-Bike Is on Sale for $310, and It's an Affordable Way to Get Around This Spring

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 9:15pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Now that spring has arrived, getting outdoors starts to feel a lot more appealing. But with gas prices rising around the country, hopping in the car isn’t quite as carefree as it used to be. Every extra stop, quick errand, or last-minute plan comes with a mental calculation. Do you really need to drive there? Is it worth the gas? It adds up fast, and before you know it, you’re cutting back on easy, everyday outings you’d normally not think twice about.

An e-bike offers a way around that. It lets you get where you need to go without relying on your car for every trip, cutting back on gas use and keeping you moving. You can handle short commutes, errands, or casual rides without watching your fuel gauge (or your wallet) the whole time. The Xkjqta Super Shock Electric Bike at Walmart makes that shift even easier. Now marked down 72% to $310 from its original $1,100 price tag, it’s a practical way to stay active, spend more time outside, and ease up on how often you’re filling up at the pump.

What makes this e-bike feel like a real alternative to driving is the balance of power and ease. It’s equipped with a high-performance motor rated up to 800 watts, with a 750-watt peak output, that can reach speeds up to 25 miles per hour. That gives you enough boost to handle longer rides, light hills, or simply get where you’re going faster. The 12 amp-hour removable lithium battery (576 watt-hours) is designed for convenience — you can take it out and recharge it in about five to six hours — and it offers a range of up to 20 to 25 miles on throttle mode alone, or up to 40 to 45 miles using pedal assist.

With five levels of pedal assist and a throttle option, you can control how much effort you put in depending on the ride, whether you’re commuting or just cruising. A built-in smart display shows real-time riding data like distance traveled, current speed, maximum speed, and average speed, along with customizable pedal assist modes so you can tailor the ride to your preference.

It’s also built with everyday riding in mind, especially when it comes to comfort and control. The multi-shock suspension system and front suspension fork help absorb uneven pavement and bumps along the way, while the 26-inch puncture-resistant road tires and seven-speed gearing make it adaptable to different routes and riding styles.

Front and rear disc brakes provide strong, reliable stopping power, and added safety features like a front LED light and rear reflector help improve visibility when riding in lower light conditions. The adjustable seat height and reinforced frame can support riders up to 300 pounds, making it a practical fit for a wide range of users.

Shoppers Say This Washable Rug at Costco Is So Great, They 'Couldn't Have Asked for a Better' One

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 8:55pm

High-traffic areas in the home, such as entryways and living rooms, serve as the heart of our daily activities. These spaces are where we entertain guests, play with pets, and relax after long workdays. However, these zones are also the most susceptible to accidental spills, tracked-in dirt, and general wear and tear. Traditional flooring options often present a dilemma: how do you keep a space looking elegant while ensuring it remains functional for real-life living? For years, homeowners felt forced to choose between style and practicality, often sacrificing the aesthetic appeal of a rug to avoid the inevitable stress of difficult cleaning and permanent staining.

Fortunately, modern textile technology has revolutionized interior design. There is no longer a need to live in fear of a glass of wine tipping over or muddy paws running across the floor. The latest innovations in home decor focus on durability and ease of maintenance, enabling seamless integration of beauty and utility. By opting for smart, adaptable flooring solutions, families can create environments that reflect their personal style without the constant worry of damage. This shift toward low-maintenance living means you can enjoy the cozy texture of a textile underfoot while maintaining a pristine, hygienic living space with minimal effort.

1971 Hard Rock Hit Inspired by a Devastating Real-Life Tragedy at Sea Became a Timeless Classic

Mon, 04/20/2026 - 8:40pm

Hard rock songs might have a reputation for being all about sex, drugs and, of course, rock and roll, but that's definitely not always the case. In fact, some of the tunes fans have known and loved for years were inspired by actual people and events...like one '70s track that tells a particularly horrifying (and all too true) tale.

The title track on Mountain's 1971 album Nantucket Sleighride, "Nantucket Sleighride (To Owen Coffin)" is a "fictional account of a true episode involving 19th-century whaling ship The Essex, which left Nantucket on an ill-starred hunt that ended in cannibalism," as Classic Rock reported.

In a 2013 interview with CR, late Mountain guitarist and singer Leslie West opened up about the origins of "Nantucket Sleighride (To Owen Coffin)."

Felix [Pappalardi, bass player/producer] came up with the idea, and Gail [Collins, Pappalardi's future wife] wrote the lyrics," he recalled. "Owen Coffin was the youngest guy in the long boat they sent to harpoon the sperm whale. They got dragged out to sea and were close to starvation, so they drew straws, and the kid got the short one. They ate him."

As West went on to explain, the term "‘a Nantucket Sleighride’ refers to the whale diving deep with harpoons in its back, then flying to the surface and pulling the long boats out at speed."

The subject matter wasn't the only dark thing about the song. Pappalardi and Collins had a tumultuous relationship which would eventually turn deadly when the wife fatally shot her husband in 1983.

“The opening lines, ‘Goodbye, little Robin-Marie, don’t try following me / Don’t cry little Robin-Marie, ’cos you know I’m coming home soon,’ were about herself and addressed the fact that Felix was cheating with a girl called Robin-Marie,” West said.

“They had a weird dynamic, him and Gail, and I didn’t think much of it to begin with when things were great. Felix is talented, his wife writes the words, she does the artwork, she takes the photos of the group, designs the stage outfits, yada yada, and it’s all easy enough. Then it became too much. It was like when Yoko came along to The Beatles and Paul said, ‘Oh no,'" he continued.

West was particularly "pissed off" when "Nantucket Sleighride (To Owen Coffin)" was released and "Gail’s name was all over the cover."

"Felix and her called all the shots. I was just the lead guitarist and sometimes the lead singer, but she was listed in so many different places it was ridiculous," he said. “Even on the cover art she drew herself — just like on the first album she painted herself standing in front of a mountain. I hadn’t realized it before, but then it hit me and left a very bad taste in my mouth.”

'Nantucket Sleighride' was Mountain's 'big number' during live shows

Despite the drama behind the scenes, "Nantucket Sleighride" became a highlight of Mountain's live shows, according to West. “It was very popular; the big number, we closed the shows with it. It was a nightly jam, really. I wanted us to be like a heavy rock orchestra band, so I made my guitar sound like a violin, a viola and a cello.”

Unfortunately, "terrible problems with heroin" only served to escalate the troubles between Pappalardi and Collins.

"In the beginning they were a great husband and wife team, but when the dope started she got the hook in him and it was out of control. It went from really good to, ‘What the f—k is going on?!’ Heroin ruined the band for sure, and throwing Gail into the mix made it even worse," West said, adding, “Hopefully the fans didn’t know about all that bullshit. But when you go behind the music and understand the power of the flowers of evil you see how awful it became. It took me years to recover from that period and it took a toll. I paid a heavy price.”

West died in 2020 at the age of 75 after suffering a cardiac arrest.
