Carson Daly is officially out as host of The Voice after 30 seasons. The former MTV star took to social media to confirm reports that he would be stepping away ahead of the show's 31st season.

"Hiya friends! So today we announced our new upcoming 'Celebrity' version of [The Voice]. A spin-off format of our long-running show," Daly began in his lengthy message to fans. "It’s a new concept than what has aired for 30 seasons aka the 'OG format' where regular humans sing, chairs turn, teams are built, one winner crowned at the end."

He continued, "'Celeb Voice' is a fun, NEW IDEA that features some big differences like… FAMOUS PEOPLE singing for 3 coaches to see if they have what it takes."

According to Daly, his decision was simple, as he claimed he's "not the right host for it."

"We have a NEW amazing HOST! The triple threat queen [Keke Palmer] who is PERFECT for it!" the Today host added. "I’m so grateful she carved out the time in her busy career to help us out. 🙏We’re all big fans & welcome her to the family."

Daly and the coaches are currently filming season 30, which will maintain the same formats fans have loved for more than a decade.

"Many today have asked if I’m leaving the show. Nope. We’re gonna try out these 2 formats this fall/spring & see how it goes!" he explained. "Hopefully this post clears up any confusion. I am still hosting the show currently."

Season 30 will see the return of Adam Levine and Kelly Clarkson, along with newcomer coaches Queen Latifah and country star Riley Green. So far, Joe Jonas has been named as a coach for the spinoff series.

Moceanu's originality and fearlessness helped establish her as one of the brightest young stars in American gymnastics during the 1990s. By 1995, she was winning national titles and earning medals on the world stage, including a silver medal on balance beam at the 1995 World Championships.

A year later, she became part of the legendary Magnificent Seven alongside Shannon Miller, Dominique Dawes, Kerri Strug, Amy Chow, Amanda Borden, and Jaycie Phelps. Together, they became the first U.S. women's gymnastics team to win Olympic gold.

Hotel Gołębiewski Pobierowo officially opened in June 2026 on Poland's Baltic coast, becoming the largest hotel resort on the Baltic Sea. Located in the quiet seaside village of Pobierowo in northwestern Poland, the sprawling property sits just steps from a wide sandy beach and is surrounded by pine forests, offering guests a mix of nature and resort-style luxury.

The massive complex features 1,240 guest rooms. But it's much more than just a hotel. The opening marks one of the biggest tourism investments ever made along Poland's Baltic coastline and reflects the country's growing appeal as an affordable alternative to some of Europe's more crowded beach destinations.

While travelers often flock to Spain, Italy, Croatia, and Greece during the summer months, Poland's northern coast has built a reputation for its expansive beaches, charming seaside towns, and lower prices.

The Baltic Sea offers a different kind of beach experience than the Mediterranean. Fifty years after his first show, one of rock's most influential guitarists has another record ready.

Yngwie Malmsteen has announced his new album, Hell Or High Water, which will arrive Nov. 13 through Music Theories Recordings and Artone Label Group. The record will be his first studio release since 2021's Parabellum.

The guitarist also released the album's opening track, "Now Or Never," alongside the announcement. "This track captures everything I love about making music- power, melody, precision, and the freedom to create without compromise," he wrote.

Hell Or High Water will feature nine tracks, combining instrumental pieces with songs featuring Malmsteen on vocals. The closing track, "Father," was written in memory of his dad, who died in 2025.

Malmsteen spent eight months writing the album without interruptions and completed roughly 80 or 90 tracks before choosing the final selections. He also arranged the record so its songs would work together as a complete album rather than a collection of unrelated releases.

The announcement comes five decades after Malmsteen began performing as a young guitarist in Sweden. He started playing seriously at seven and performed with several Swedish bands throughout the 1970s before forming Rising Force.

His international breakthrough followed after he moved to the United States and recorded with Steeler and Alcatrazz. Malmsteen then began his solo career with 1984's Rising Force, which brought his classically influenced approach to a much wider audience.

The mostly instrumental debut earned Malmsteen his first and only Grammy nomination for Best Rock Instrumental Performance. His combination of heavy metal, classical composition and fast guitar technique helped popularize the neoclassical metal sound that became closely associated with him.

Malmsteen's influence also extended to the equipment he used. His signature Stratocaster, first introduced in 1988, became one of Fender's earliest artist models and featured the scalloped fretboard that remains central to his playing style.

Now, 50 years after his earliest performances, Hell Or High Water adds another full-length release to a career that helped change the direction of rock guitar.

Estonia earned the highest overall score in the index's general rankings, thanks to its combination of modern infrastructure, digital-first government services, strong public safety, relatively affordable cost of living compared to much of Western Europe, and welcoming pathways for international residents.

The country consistently ranks well for safety, education, and internet connectivity, while residents enjoy easy access to forests, lakes, and the Baltic coastline. Tallinn, the capital, combines a beautifully preserved medieval Old Town with a thriving technology sector that's earned Estonia the nickname "Europe's startup nation."

The Rumavi index also looked beyond traditional quality-of-life rankings by considering how straightforward it is for newcomers to integrate, access services, and build a life in a new country. Those factors helped propel Estonia to the top of the overall rankings.

One of Estonia's biggest draws, however, is its reputation as one of the world's most digitally advanced countries. Nearly every government service—from filing taxes to registering a business—can be completed online, saving residents time and reducing bureaucracy. That digital-first approach has also made Estonia especially attractive to entrepreneurs, freelancers and remote workers.

For Americans hoping to make the move, Estonia offers several pathways. Remote workers can apply for the country's Digital Nomad Visa if they meet income requirements and work for an employer or clients outside Estonia. Entrepreneurs can also explore startup and business visas, while the country's well-known e-Residency program allows people around the world to establish and manage an EU-based business online, although it does not provide the right to live in Estonia.

While no relocation index can capture every individual's priorities, Estonia's first-place finish reflects a growing trend: More Americans are looking beyond traditional expat hotspots in search of countries that offer affordability, opportunity, and a better work-life balance.

More than a decade after its second breakup, Sleep is ushering in a bold new era.

The legendary stoner metal band has announced Hempispheres, its first new studio album since 2018's The Sciences. The record arrives digitally on Sept. 3 and physically on Oct. 30 via Third Man Records, marking the band's first full-length release since reforming after an 11-year hiatus.

Alongside the announcement, Sleep shared the new single "The Morrisist," following June's release of "Have Spacesuit Will Travel." According to the band, Hempispheres finds Sleep embracing "significant new blood" while remaining true to the sound that made it one of heavy music's most influential acts.

The album also represents a major lineup change.

Hempispheres is the first Sleep album without founding guitarist Matt Pike, whose towering riffs helped define the band's classic recordings. Instead, founding vocalist and bassist Al Cisneros is joined by Dale Crover, best known for his work with Melvins and Redd Kross, on drums, and Bubba Dupree of Void on guitar.

Cisneros said he knew the chemistry was there almost immediately.

"The vibe of the first jam was obvious," he said in a statement. "It was blue sunglasses-era Iommi in the quality, and equally awesome is Bubba is also one of the coolest people I've been able to make music with."

The announcement marks another remarkable chapter in Sleep's unconventional history.

Originally formed in 1990, the band became one of the defining names in stoner and doom metal through landmark releases including Sleep's Holy Mountain. Internal tensions eventually led to the group's breakup in 1998 after the recording of the now-iconic "Dopesmoker." Although the members reunited for live performances in 2009 and later released The Sciences in 2018, Sleep had largely remained quiet in recent years, last performing a handful of shows in 2022.

Fans won't have to wait long to hear the new material live.

Sleep is scheduled to launch a summer and fall 2026 tour beginning Sept. 8 in San Diego, giving audiences their first opportunity to experience the band's reinvented lineup onstage.

Thirty-six years after forming and 11 years after many believed the band's story had effectively ended. Sleep is proving there’s still plenty left to say. With Hempispheres, the beloved metal pioneers are beginning a surprising new chapter while honoring the crushing, hypnotic sound that helped shape an entire genre.

Jen Hamilton is celebrating her anniversary in the most perfect way possible. The nursing incluencer/social media superstar recently made headlines after separating from her soon-to-be ex-husband Brian Hamilton. And now, on what would have been 14 years of marriage, Hamilton is announcing her “Jendependence.”

The New York Times bestselling author shocked her fans when she announced the split. While the separation was something her followers may not have seen coming, the biggest surprise was the reason.

“All you need to know is this person had a double life, okay,” Jen revealed in a social media share on July 26. She continued, “Do y’all remember when I was crying my eyes out outside, saying I wanna talk to the healed version of me, and I was losing my mind over this person? That was before I knew about the double life.”

She went on to say,  “And what has come out since has caused me to deal with this as a death. That’s what it feels like in my soul. Because like, all the memories, all the tender moments…poof. I do not know this person…And while I was at the hospital, taking care of people, he found the time to have a whole other life.”

Hamilton also talked candidly about the other person in her husband’s life, saying, “A direct quote that I got was, ‘I knew about you. He talked about you all the time. But I didn’t know you had so many followers.’”

Fast forward a few weeks later, and Jen is celebrating what she termed her “Jendependence Day.” The influencer posted a video online sharing, “Today is my 14th wedding anniversary.” As she points to a photo from the big day, she explains, “And this was me 14 years ago, so excited about my future.”

Hamilton compares the old pic to a new one. But instead of her estranged husband, the image includes a kitchen filled with women, eagerly supporting their BFF: “And this is me today. At my Jendependence Day party. Surrounded by people that love me. So excited for my future. And what’s crazy is, this was the best anniversary I’ve ever had. What an honor it is to feel so much more love now than I did when I was married.”

For the last two years, Daytime Emmy nominee Karla Mosley has portrayed Dani Dupree on the brand-new hit soap opera Beyond the Gates. With production on the series currently on hiatus, the beloved actress revealed she is taking on what she considers to be her ‘greatest’ role yet.

The daytime icon took to her personal Instagram, posting a selfie and captioning the post, “For the next month I get to play my greatest role yet - mama.” She jokingly added, “PTA here I come!! 🤣🤣🫠🫠❤️❤️.”

Beyond the Gates is CBS’s newest soap opera, which debuted in 2024 as the first hour-long daytime drama to have a primarily Black cast and crew, following the groundwork of the NBC soap opera Generations.

Before Beyond the Gates, Mosley is best known for her portrayal of Maya Avant on The Bold and the Beautiful, having previously made her daytime television debut on fellow CBS soap opera Guiding Light as Christina Moore Boudreau in 2008.

Beyond the Gates was recently renewed for its third and fourth seasons on CBS, expected to air throughout 2027 and 2028.

Science fiction films have entertained, provided warnings, and put up a mirror to audiences for the last 100 years or so. While not every sci-fi picture has enough substance to get glowing reviews, the publication Collider recently spotlighted the beloved genre's most acclaimed and cherished films by releasing a list of "the 60 best sci-fi movies of all time."

The list, published on August 5, included films like 2004's Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Mad Max: Fury Road from 2015, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial from 1982, 2013's Ex Machina, WALL-Efrom 2008, 2022's Everything Everywhere All at Once, and 1985'sBack to the Future. The ranking's top five sci-fi films are 1980'sStar Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back, Alien from 1979, 2001: A Space Odyssey, released in 1968, and 1982'sBlade Runner, with the German silent film Metropolis taking home the No. 1 spot.

According to Collider, the Fritz Lang-directed 1927 film, adapted from his then-wife and the movie's screenwriter Thea von Harbou's 1925 novel, Metropolis, still endures with its themes of classism and the exploitation of working people. Metropolis holds a score of 97 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.

In a 1971 interview, Lang, who died in 1976 at the age of 85, suggested that he was dissatisfied with the dystopian movie. Lang explained that he initially disagreed with the film's overall thesis.

"After I had completed Metropolis, I didn't like it at all. I thought a lot of it was done too simplistically. And I thought that, for example, the tenor of Metropolis, that was written by Mrs. von Harbou, my wife at the time, that the mediator between hands and head, i.e. the capital and the worker, should be the heart. I thought that cannot be the answer to problems in society," said Lang.

The filmmaker clarified that he had a better understanding of the 1927 movie after speaking with "today's youth" while living in the United States.

"But here is something strange, I dearly love today's youth. I am 100 percent behind today's youth. When I say, 'Today's youth,' I mean America, of course, where I live," said Lang, who divorced von Harbou in 1933. "And when you talk to today's youth and ask them what they think about an establishment governed by computers, or what they think is missing, as they are opposed to the establishment, then all of them say 'the heart,' which makes me wonder, maybe Harbou was 100 percent right after all."

While there are plenty of songs that take days, weeks or even years to write, some come together in a flash. A rare few even go on to define an era.

That was the case for "These Eyes," the breakthrough ballad by The Guess Who that was famously written in just 30 minutes by songwriting partners Randy Bachman and Burton Cummings. The heartfelt track helped launch the Canadian band onto the international stage, becoming its first major hit and opening the door for a string of classics that followed.

The story of the song began several years before its release, when Bachman started working through a series of chords while waiting for his future wife to get ready for a date. He jotted down an early idea in a notebook before sharing it with Cummings, who suggested changing the opening lyric from "These arms" to the far more memorable "These eyes cry every night for you.

"From that we wrote a song that would forever change our lives," Bachman later recalled.

Producer Jack Richardson heard the band perform "These Eyes" on the CBC television series, Let's Go, and was convinced it had hit potential. After refinancing his home to help fund the recording sessions, Richardson took the group to New York, where they recorded the song in 1968.

"We were very lucky," Bachman told Best Classic Bands. "We were at a period of time when there were slight crossovers. We had a hit with 'These Eyes' and we did American Bandstand—Dick Clark gave us our gold singles. We were invited to New York, to RCA Records, where we had the songs and albums—we recorded the [Wheatfield Soul] album at Phil Ramone's A&R Studio in New York. He was the engineer on that and that's why it still sounds great on the radio today.

"These Eyes" was released as a single in Canada in December 1968 before arriving in the United States in March 1969. Included on the band's 1969 album Wheatfield Soul, it became The Guess Who's breakthrough hit, earning the group's first gold record, and climbing to No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S.

More than five decades later, "These Eyes" remains one of the defining ballads of the late 1960s. Its unforgettable melody, emotional lyrics, and instantly recognizable opening have helped it endure across generations, while its success paved the way for The Guess Who's remarkable run of hits, including "Laughing," "No Time," and the chart-topping "American Woman," which cemented the band's place in rock history.

"I still love being onstage and watching the reaction," Bachman told GlideMagazine. "People cry and they react emotionally when I sing 'These Eyes' or 'American Woman' or 'Stand Tall;' some of the big records that really got through to them. I still love being able to invoke that reaction with people. That's something that shouldn’t be messed with. It really should be honored. And that's what I try and do."

New findings from Virlo, a short-form video trend intelligence platform, point to the growing appeal of highly personal and cinematic travel content. Its latest travel analysis tracked 1,100 videos that collectively generated 686.4 million views. Here are the findings:

• Personal travel vlogs and journey narratives led with 29.3 million views
• Luxury and aspirational travel experiences received 6.7 million
• Travel photography and cinematic capture generated 2.3 million
• Solo travel and empowerment content attracted 2.6 million views

The pattern reflects what could be called “main character travel,” where travelers frame a trip as a personal narrative rather than a collection of places visited.

“People used to think of transportation as the gap between the airport and the hotel,” JJ Bell, vice president of Presidential Limousine, said in a statement shared with Parade. “Now, that first ride can set the tone for the entire trip. The music, the people you are with and the moment the destination comes into view can become one of the memories everyone talks about afterward.”

This doesn't necessarily require a fully luxurious itinerary. Virlo also found that budget travel and smart-hack videos generated 3.6 million views, suggesting cost-conscious planning can coexist with selective upgrades.

Bell recommended focusing on three details:

1. Decide which part of the trip deserves a memorable entrance or group experience.
2. Confirm passenger and luggage capacity before selecting a vehicle based on appearance.
3. Verify pickup instructions, pricing, company credentials and what is included before booking.

The Cast of The Five-Star Weekend Rocked Nantucket

Back in October, the cast of The Five-Star Weekend made it clear they had the time of their liveson the Nantucket set of the show. Garner and her costars headed to the Gaslight in Downtown Nantucket for a little karaoke, and were joined by local Nantucket Ghost Walk guide Bill Jamieson onstage as they performed a rousing rendition of ABBA’s “Dancing Queen,” according to the Nantucket Current.

“Bill had no idea who he was singing with, he just thought it was some ladies that wanted to sing with him,” Minella told the publication. “What happened was Bill had signed up to sing Dancing Queen, which he does often. And then another lady came up and wanted to sign up to sing Dancing Queen, and she was like ‘we wanna go quickly, and just so you know, I’m with Jennifer Garner.’ And I told her that they could sing Dancing Queen if they wanted to, but Bill had already signed up for it, so they had to sing it with him. So then they all sang it together.”

Die-hard horror aficionados know actor Dee Wallaceas a recognizable scream queen in the genre with classics dating back to the 70s. She revealed that after decades in the industry, there's one thing she looks for in a new on-screen project.

While Wallace is largely recognized for her role as Mary Taylor in E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, she became largely known in horror. She got her start in the 1975 classic The Stepford Wives as Nettie the Maid before finding her footing in The Hills Have Eyes, The Howling, Cujo, and Critters. She even played the role of Cynthia Strode in the 2007 franchise installment, Halloween.

She admits that back when she starred in her first horror movies, it was all about, "Oh, my gosh. How lucky am I? I have a job." Over time, she's grown to love the genre and has been a staple in her career that she says found her.

“I didn’t go looking for horror. Horror found me,” she told PEOPLE. “I guess I’m just a really good screamer and crier. And that’s what it takes to do a lot of this horror-thriller stuff, you know?”

Decades into her career at 77 years old, Wallace has no intention of stopping and is giving it her all to the genre. The actor does reveal having one major guideline before she agrees to star in a new project.

“Now I would stand back and go, ‘Wow, how much violence is there?’" she explained. “I just signed on for a project where we stopped before I signed on and talked about the violence. They addressed the violence and toned down some of it because it’s not really my wheelhouse.”

The actor adds that she starred in films that have a story and develop juicy characters alongside a worthwhile relationship between them. For Wallace, a horror film is "not just a set them up, take them out kind of thing." She adds that she's now more focused on addressing it than before, as any actor is happy to land a leading part when they first start their career.

“My life is kismet. That’s all I can say. I’ve just attracted the people that were supposed to be there at the right time, down to all these little independent films that I’ve done,” she said.

Wallace plans to keep "attracting" the right people in her life and reveals she has six to seven films coming out. According to reports, she starred in an independent film called The Licked Hand, based on an urban legend. Other upcoming film roles are unclear, with her recently having starred as Grace in the Netflix series The Boroughs.

The Cabbage Soup Diet was a seven-day diet that revolved around cabbagesoup. There are a lot of different claims around the diet, but many promised that followers would lose up to 10 pounds in seven days. 

There are different variations on the Cabbage Soup Diet, but it usually involves eating homemade cabbage soup—typically cabbage cooked in water or a broth—along with other fruits and vegetables. Most Cabbage Soup Diets allow followers to eat as much cabbage soup as they’d like. 

The diet traces its origins back to the 1950s, but the thinness craze of the 1980s brought it into the spotlight, Cording says.

Was the Cabbage Soup Diet Healthy?

While there were some good elements of the Cabbage Soup Diet, dietitians don’t consider it to be healthy overall. “It encouraged vegetable intake,” says Sandra Zhang, RDN, LDN,dietitian at the Frances Stern Nutrition Center at Tufts Medical Center. “Cabbage itself is a nutritious vegetable, rich in fiber and vitamins.”

Sonya Angelone, RD, Ph.D., a former spokeswoman for the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and a San Francisco-based dietitian, agrees. “Cabbage was the best thing about this diet,” she says. "Among other things, cabbage offers up plenty of vitamins C and K1, folate, fiber and phytochemicals."

“Soup can provide few calories when prepared with lots of vegetables, beans, lean protein and water/broth, which can curb appetite and food intake,” Angelone tells Parade. 

Cabbage is “inherently a very healthy food,” according to Jessica Cording, RD, author of The Little Book of Game-Changers. “But it's not that the cabbage soup was the problem—it was diet that was built around it,” she adds. 

One of the big concerns with the Cabbage Soup Diet is how restrictive it was, Zhang says, explaining, “The diet was extremely low in calories and lacked balance."

It was also “boring” and “repetitive,” Angelone says. “It was low in protein, essential fats, calcium, iron, and many vitamins,” she continues. “Most of the weight loss was water loss, combined with some muscle loss.” 

She adds that people on the Cabbage Soup Diet often struggled with hunger, fatigue and weakness, making it a difficult diet to stick with.

Is It Safe To Go on the Cabbage Soup Diet?

No, it’s not safe to go on the Cabbage Soup Diet. “This is a very, very low-calorie diet,” Cording tells Parade. Cabbage is a low-calorie food, and cabbage soup is equally low in calories, she points out. 

“There’s really not much happening in terms of protein or healthy fat on this diet,” Cording says. “That makes it difficult to meet your nutritional needs.” As a result, you can end up feeling faint and fatigued while trying to follow this.

The Cabbage Soup Diet often leads to overeating and rebound weight gain, too, Angelone adds. 

Overall, dietitians say the Cabbage Soup Diet just isn’t a good idea. “Cabbage soup would have been a great start to a small meal, instead of the meal itself,” Angelone says.
