In what might be one of the most ironic events of, well, ever, Elon Musk's SpaceX reportedly crashed a rocket into the moon on what would have been iconic astronaut Neil Armstrong's 96th birthday.

Armstrong was born on August 5, 1930, in Wapakoneta, Ohio, less than 60 miles from the Wright brothers’ famed workshop. He earned his student pilot license at age 16 and eventually went on to study aeronautical engineering at Purdue University on a Naval scholarship. At the time, Armstrong also trained as a fighter pilot in Florida and, before graduating from college, flew 78 combat missions (during the Korean War).

The would-be astronaut started his post-college career at the National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics (NACA). In 1958, NACA became NASA—the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. 

After proving himself as a talented test pilot, Armstrong was asked to join NASA’s astronaut training program in Houston. His first trip into space was in March of 1966, as the command pilot of the Gemini 8 mission.

He was later selected for the legendary Apollo program. But during a test flight of the Lunar Landing Research Vehicle, the LLRV lost control, almost killing Armstrong. Thanks to his expertise and quick thinking, he ejected before the vehicle crashed.

On July 20, 1969, Armstrong piloted the Apollo 11 Lunar Module to the moon’s surface. He  made history as the first human to walk on the moon, famously declaring, “That’s one small step for a man; one giant leap for mankind.”

Neil Armstrong passed away in 2012, at the age of 82, following cardiovascular bypass surgery. He would have turned 96 this year.

It just so happens that on what would have been Armstrong’s 96th birthday, another lunar event was making headlines. On Wednesday, August 6, a SpaceX rocket that had previously launched a pair of lunar landers reportedly crashed into the moon. After drifting off course, the rocket sped towards the lunar surface at a supposed 5,400 miles per hour before most likely making impact. 

While scientists were not able to view the collision, a telescope in Chile did see what looks to be a plume of leftover debris. Retired astrophysicist Jonathan McDowell told the Associated Press that there was no doubt in his mind that the rocket “is now teeny, tiny pieces scattered over the moon near Einstein Crater.”

Weezer has announced new international dates for its upcoming Weezer: The Gathering tour, adding shows across the United Kingdom, Europe and Japan as the ’90s rock band prepares to release its 20th studio album, Weezer, also known as The Gold Album.

The band shared the ticket information on Instagram, telling fans that “New international gathering sites across the UK, Europe and Japan have been discovered. Preparation for these shows is key.”

The newly announced dates will take Weezer to Japan in February 2027 before the group heads to the UK and Europe in May and June 2027. The international shows follow the band’s North American tour, which begins Sept. 8 in Sacramento, California, and runs through late October.

Weezer also revealed several ways fans can get early access to tickets.

Members of the Weezer Fan Club can get first access to tickets on Aug. 11 at 9 A.M. in the U.K. and 10 A.M in Europe.

For fans in the U.K., album pre-orders are also tied to the presale. Fans must pre-order Weezer through the Weezer webstore before 3 P.M. on Monday, Aug. 10, to receive access to the Aug. 11 presale at 10 A.M. Fans who have already pre-ordered the album will also receive a code.

The Japan leg begins Feb. 12, 2027, with two shows at Tokyo’s Garden Theater. Weezer will then visit Kyoto, Osaka and Nagoya before traveling to Europe.

The European run starts May 12 in Dublin and includes stops in Newcastle, Manchester, Leeds, Glasgow, Birmingham, London and Cardiff. The band will then continue into France, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Finland.

The band’s North American tour will feature The Shins and Silversun Pickups as opening acts. Taking Back Sunday will support Weezer on the overseas dates.

Although Weezer is sometimes described as a band that “disbanded” in the late 1990s, the group never formally broke up, according to All Music. Instead, the band went through a long hiatus after the release and tour for its 1996 album, Pinkerton.

Weezer completed the Pinkerton tour in 1997 before its members turned their attention to separate projects. Patrick Wilson worked with The Special Goodness, Brian Bell continued with Space Twins, and bassist Matt Sharp focused on The Rentals. Rivers Cuomo also returned to Harvard and spent much of the period away from the band writing songs.

Weezer began coming back together in 2000 after accepting an offer to perform at Japan’s Fuji Rock Festival. The reunion led to new rehearsals, recordings and live performances before the band released its self-titled third album, commonly called the Green Album, in 2001.

That comeback began a new chapter for the group, which has continued recording and touring for more than two decades.

The new tour announcement comes as Weezer prepares to release its new album on Aug. 21 through Reprise Records/Warner Records.

The self-titled record is the band’s 20th studio album and is also known as The Gold Album. Weezer has already released “Shine Again” and “We Might as Well Be Strangers,” the latter featuring Karly Hartzman of Wednesday.

The band has now released its third single, “C.E.O.”, along with a music video packed with guest appearances.

The video features Tony Hawk, Curry Barker, Dax Flame, Chit, Rob Riggle, Rob Huebel, Michael Peña, Giovanni Ribisi and Christopher Mintz-Plasse.

The “C.E.O.” video also looks back at one of Weezer’s best-known early videos, the 1994 clip for “Undone (The Sweater Song).” This time, the band performs in front of a gold backdrop instead of the original blue one.

Cuomo recently explained to Rolling Stone the idea behind the song, saying, “I was bemoaning the fact that I’m finding myself in this role that doesn’t really work with being an artist. Everyone loved the song, but nobody liked that line. We ended up externalizing it; it’s like I’ve externalized this part of myself that’s bringing down the party.”

The album follows Van Weezer, released in 2021, and the four-part SZNZ project from 2022.

Jack Lemmon and Walter Matthau were comedy legends whose movie collaborations—The Fortune Cookie, The Front Page, Grumpy Old Men, and so many more—remain among the most beloved comedy films of all time. Both recently divorced, the two shack up in Oscar’s New York City apartment as their friendship, wits, and the height of comedy are all pushed to the brink.

“I’m never aware of the genesis of a play,” Simon once said, per Woman’s World. “Sometimes they’re inspired by real-life incidents in my life or somebody else’s life, which was the case withThe Odd Couple. It actually happened to my brother and a friend of his who were living together and going through all that. I witnessed it and said, ‘That’s a great idea for a play.’”

Released in May 1968, the film was a smash at the box office. Grossing more than $44 million against a modest budget, it became one of the top-grossing films of the year, behind The Graduate, Funny Girl, and 2001: A Space Odyssey. After climbing to the top spot in June, the comedy continued to draw crowds for several weeks, dominating the top box-office draws throughout the summer.

The film was nominated for two Academy Awards, for editing and writing. Its success and the enduring love for the comedy can be attributed, of course, to the iconic dialogue, electric chemistry, and tight direction, but also to the legendary soundtrack.

Composed, arranged, and conducted by jazz maestro Neal Hefti, whose Grammy-winning BatmanTV theme was already a hit, the movie’s music took the film from moving picture to iconic slice of pop culture with its breezy, witty big band jazz perfectly matched to the urban comedy.

Leaning into the contrast of tightly wound tension with laid-back swing and sophisticated jazz arrangements, the scoring became as iconic as the movie. Even viewers who have never seen the film or heard of Hefti can instantly recognize the bouncy, rhythmic theme song.

Hefti’s original score earned two Grammy nominations, proving music doesn’t need lyrics to become a standalone hit. Further cementing his reputation as one of television and film’s greatest composers, the score also became classic shorthand for mismatched duos and sitcom chaos, most notably when it became the theme music for Garry Marshall’s five-season series adaptation in 1970 starring Tony Randall and Jack Klugman.

Today,The Odd Couple is considered a cross-generational hit, with new audiences discovering it on streaming platforms and being as charmed by Lemmon and Matthau as the film’s earliest audiences were.

The movie’s title has become a permanent fixture in the American lexicon to describe oil-and-water duos. And the film’s formula laid the groundwork for the buddy comedy subgenre, with shows like Perfect Strangers, Frasier, and New Girl, and films like StepBrothers, The Nice Guys, and Planes, Trains and Automobiles, all modernizing the template.

But even better, here we are, more than half a century later, and this film about a couple of polarizing personalities forced to live together still holds up. Few classic comedies can say the same.

It's no secret that concert tickets have gotten too expensive for the average music fan. Top tours have gone from $84 bucks a seat to more than $130 today, with many major artists selling out stadiums with tickets pushing well past $200 a seat. This writer recently paid around 300 bucks for a pit ticket at the Backstreet Boys Sphere engagement, and that's a legacy boy band. And considering that's nothing for Taylor Swiftand Beyoncé fans who notoriously pay hundreds of dollars, it says something about the state of affordability in live music travel.

Between scalpers and surge pricing, it's felt like a losing game for fans, but one legendary music act has quietly fought against the changing tides for over a decade. Take this classic rock fan's account of purchasing The Rolling Stones tickets as part of their "Lucky Dip" program: "We handed over our tickets to the ticket booth. The customer service rep clicked a few buttons before handing us wristbands. The wristbands said, 'pit, right.'"

They continued their account of their concert experience on Medium, and expressed, "Holy #$%^!" at their shock of the surprise of having purchased these mystery seat tickets and scoring big.

The blog explained, "The Rolling Stones have a brilliant group of tickets called Lucky Dip. There are a small number of tickets released for every show. You are not given a seat in the arena until the day of the show. It can be anywhere in the building. When we saw Rolling Stones in 2012, we got these tickets and were seated up in the nosebleed section. We were fully expecting the tickets to be in worse seats than the ones we had together." They wrote, describing the gamble from the iconic music acts initiative: you get a two-ticket limit, but won't know where you're seated until the show. It could be the nosebleeds or in the pit.

At 20 to 30 bucks a pop, buying these mystery tickets is a worthwhile chance to take, and now more music acts are following The Rolling Stones' lead. Take, for instance, Coldplay, which, according toJared Braverman via The Wall Street Journal, the senior vice president of global touring at Live Nation, confirmed they were directly inspired by the Stones and began to offer "Infinity Tickets," which offer their legion of fans a chance to be seated randomly at around $20 a show to “make their show more accessible and more affordable."

With that, up-and-coming pop starOlivia Rodrigo has also introduced a more affordable tier of tickets. Since her fans skew younger, it makes so much sense for her to offer “Silver Star” priced random seats that only apply to a select amount of tickets available per show. Braverman told TWSJ that this blueprint established by The Rolling Stones sets a precedent that more acts are sure to follow: “It’s not a ton in most cases, but it’s enough to make the program meaningful.”

Some of the most influential albums are the ones where big swings were made in terms of production, lyrics, and aesthetics. For instance, the publication Collider recently highlighted a few fearless hits by releasing a ranking of "the 10 most ambitious albums of all time."

The list, published on August 4, featured records like The Who's 1973 album, Quadrophenia, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon, also released in 1973, 2005's Illinoisby Sufjan Stevens, and 1976's Songs in the Key of Life by Stevie Wonder. According to the publication, the "most ambitious album" ever released was The Beatles' ninth record, nicknamed The White Album. Collider reported that the self-titled 30-track album takes Beatles fans on quite the genre-bending journey.

George Harrison, who died in 2001 at the age of 58, revealed that he believed the 1968 record could have been shorter during an interview with music journalist Ritchie Yorke.

"I think in a way it was a mistake doing four sides because, first of all, it's too big for people to really get into it," said Harrison during the interview. "For reviewers and also the public, maybe, now people have bought it, and if they've really listened to it for years or since it was out, then they'll have their own favorites. And there's a couple of things that we could have done without on the album."

In addition, Harrison said that he had mixed feelings about the late John Lennon's ambient track, "Revolution 9." Harrison said that the 8-minute and 22-second-long tune didn't have the same vibe as many Beatles songs. However, he believed that "'Revolution Number 9' [sic] worked very well in the context of all those different songs" on the self-titled record.

In addition, Harrison said he was a fan of Lennon's song "Glass Onion" off the 1968 album and enjoyedEric Clapton's guitar playing on his tune, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps."

The reviews for the utility cart are incredibly positive, except for a few customers who take issue with the difficulty of assembly, noting just how small the included screws are. However, as far as function, they're loving it.

"This little cart is a perfect slender shape for my bathroom storage needs," writes a shopper in their review. "I could imagine it would be useful in lots of circumstances/rooms."

Currently, it only comes in a basic black, but since IKEA has never been a retailer to shy away from color, there's always a chance it could turn up in a new hue in the future.

After seeing DianaRoss perform live, OprahWinfrey needed to know her secret to looking so good. 

The media mogul recalled the moment when the now-82-year-old singer became her “inspiration and aspiration” in an interview with Glamour. The magazine posted a clip of Winfrey sharing her “Girlhood Firsts” for the outlet’s series on August 5.

“Because if you all remember... There she is. There is a storm that came in Central Park, and she kept singing. It was like pouring rain,” Winfrey said about Ross’ 1983 concert in Central Park. “All you could see was diamond earrings glittering, and her mascara did not run.”

The 72-year-old talk show host called the “Upside Down” singer’s production company the next day. She needed to know how she shined in the unfortunate weather.  

“I asked them what was the mascara and how many carats of diamonds [Ross’ earrings weighed], and they told me 10 carats, so I strived until I could get my first 10 carats.”

She added that Ross used Lancôme waterproof mascara. 

The singer inspired Winfrey’s “first diamond stud earrings,” but hers ended up being different than the pair Ross performed in. The media legend shared that Ross later told her the earrings were 5 carats. “I could’ve quit halfway through,” she joked. 

Winfrey spoke about other meaningful moments throughout her life in the video. 

When asked about the first time she felt “represented in media,” she recalled being 10 years old and seeing Sidney Poitier become the first Black man to win an Academy Award. 

"I do distinctly remember being on the linoleum floor,” she said. “And I remember thinking, 'If he could do that, I wonder what I could do?'" 

Winfrey also remembered watching The Supremes appearing on The Ed Sullivan Show.

“We had never seen anything like that. We had not seen Black women look like that, we had not seen Black women be that glamorous, we had not seen Black women talk like that. It was incredible.”

Samantha Sang, the Australian pop singer best known for her global smash, “Emotion,” turns 75 today, Aug. 5. Her dreamy vocals and glossy tracks, from “You Keep Me Dancing” and “La La La - I Love You” to “Change of Heart,” helped define soft rock in the late ’70s. And today, on her birthday, it’s just “Emotion” that’s taking over.

Born Cheryl Lau Sang, the pop icon began flexing her tonsils at 8. Performing as Cheryl Gray, she rose to fame with early hits like “You Made Me What I Am.” She was the “little girl with the big voice,” but soon became Samantha Sang, the voice that turned a Bee Gees ballad into a generational hit.

"Emotion" is a song written by Barry and Robin Gibb. It was first recorded by Australian singer Samantha Sang, whose version reached number three on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1978. The Bee Gees recorded their own version of the song in 1994, which was not first released until their 2001 collection titled Their Greatest Hits: The Record. Originally, "Emotion" was recorded by Samantha Sang for the Private Stock label. The song was Sang's only hit single, reaching number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. Billboard ranked her version as the No. 14 song for 1978. There is a promotional video made for this song. When Sang arrived at Criteria Studios in Miami, Florida, instead of recording "(Our Love) Don't Throw it All Away", Barry Gibb offered her a new song called "Emotion". In 1977, Barry Gibb invited Sang to Miami to cut a track he and his brother Robinwrote just for her. That song was “Emotion,” a heartbreaking ballad about a broken relationship that contrasts gloomy lyrics with lush melodies and the Bee Gees’ signature high-pitched falsetto backing harmonies.

“We were in the middle of the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack,” Barry said, per Super Seventies. “She flew in with her manager, not to my knowledge, confronted me, and said, ‘Would you write me a song?’ I said, ‘Great, would love to, but that’s as far as it can go.’”

Initially declining to produce the song with Sang because of his workload, the Bee Gee later gave in: “She came to Miami for a week, we cut it, and that was it.”

The song proved to be the perfect vehicle for Sang’s breathy lead vocals. It was so perfect that critics endearingly crowned her the female Bee Gee, although Sang said the seamless harmonizing and gentle vocalizations weren’t originally intended.

“We didn't set out to do it that way," she said, via the same outlet. “Barry just thought that soft and very sensuoussound would work best on that record. It did, but it’s only one of many styles I use.”

The track was reportedly considered for the soundtrack of the disco-dancing movie starring John Travolta, but was ultimately left off. It later found the screen, though, via Joan Collins’ 1978romantic drama The Stud. The springboard didn’t matter; the song was destined to be a rising hit no matter the picture.

In March 1978, “Emotion” climbed to its peak of No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100. The song’s success also helped send its parent album of the same name to No. 29 on the Billboard 200 the following month. Riding the wave of “Emotion,” Sang watched her follow-up single, “You Keep Me Dancing,” rise on the all-genre chart, peaking at No. 56, as well as her cover of Wilson Pickett’s classic "In the Midnight Hour," which hit No. 88 in 1979.

Today, Sang stays in touch through social media. She's stepped away from the stage but her breakout ballad continued to evolve into a cross-generational hit.

Over the years, “Emotion” has been covered more than 20 times, with notable renditions including those from Johnny Mathis and Deniece Williams in 1978, the Bee Gees themselves in 1994, and the Beyoncé-fronted Destiny’s Child in 2001.

Though Sang never really replicated the success of "Emotion," she still secured her place in the famed halls of pop and soft rock history with one of the most enduring soft rock ballads of the 1970s. It’s a hit that continues to resonate five decades later, and that’s really saying something.

The Nuremberg star and Oscar winner, 62, who dropped 50 pounds last year, has adopted a healthier lifestyle recently. That means following a reasonable diet and putting in the hours in the gym. And in a new photo, Crowe showed off his bulging biceps as he smiled for a shot in the gym's mirror.

"In the gym with Drew McIntyre. Good lad. Salt of the earth. Just finishing up the shoot on The Last Druid. We have been shooting in Spain since May. It has been two years now since playing Hermann Göring in Nuremberg. The long sweaty days in the beautiful Spanish sunshine have definitely been a great motivator. Crowe Took To The Gym With His Son, Tennyson

Last month, Crowe took to Twitter/X to share a touching birthday message in honor of his son Tennyson's 20th birthday. But it was the duo’s wild biceps in the gym that caught the attention of social media users.

“20 years ago today, at 7 minutes to 7am, this amazing young man arrived in our lives. Happy Birthday Tenny,” Crowe captioned the photo set, which saw the proud dad and his son flexing their biceps alongside each other in the gym. Both sporting long, flowing hair, the dynamic father-son duo had matching smiles on their faces. That was accompanied by a shot of the duo riding horses together, as well as a throwback shot of Crowe holding his son as a baby.

Back in 2024, Crowe weighed about 50 pounds more. In November, he made an appearance on the popularJoe Rogan Experience podcast and revealed how he managed to drop the extra pounds.

“I was 126 kilos when I finished Nuremberg,” Crowe told Rogan about his role as Hermann Göring in the 2025 film. “I’m 100.9 now.”

Crowe explained that in addition to focusing on diet and exercise, he credits much of his weight loss to Rogan introducing him to a platform called Ways2Well. According to its website, Ways2Well is a healthcare platform that combines everything from bloodwork and hormone optimization to stem cell therapy and peptide therapy.

“I’m not really across the science, but the real benefit I’m getting from these into my shoulders, my knees, and also IVs, is that it’s calmed down my body’s inflammation,” Crowe said, adding that he has years of sports injuries and arthritis.

To be considered a literary masterpiece is quite the feat, as even some of the most objectively well-crafted novels still don't overwhelm readers with their brilliance. Colliderrecently highlighted a few of the very top literary classics written before 2000 by releasing a ranking of "the 10 greatest book masterpieces of the 20th century."

Books featured on the list included 1966's In Cold Blood by Truman Capote, 1965's Dune by Frank Herbert, The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, published in 1925, and 1967'sOne Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez. Collider gave the title of the "greatest book masterpiece" published in the 1900s to 1922's Ulysses by famed Irish author James Joyce. Ulysses, an adaptation of TheOdyssey by Homer, has a rating of 3.76 out of 5 from 141,119 readers on Goodreads.

Joyce's language student, Georges Borach, kept a record of 1917 comments Joyce made about The Odyssey, which appeared in a 1954 volume of College English. According to Borach, Joyce said that "the most beautiful, all-embracing theme is that of the Odyssey."

"It is greater, more human than that of Hamlet, Don Quixote, Dante, Faust. The rejuvenation of old Faust has an unpleasant effect upon me. Dante tires one quickly; it is as if one were to look at the sun. The most beautiful, most human traits are contained in the Odyssey," said Joyce, per Borach.

According to Borach's recordings, Joyce said that he was most interested in the Odyssey's "mysticism" when he was introduced to the epic poem when he "was twelve years old." In addition, he said that he had planned on titling his 1914 short story collection, Dubliners, "Ulysses in Dublin, but gave up the idea."

"In Rome, when I had finished about half of the Portrait, I realised that the Odyssey had to be the sequel, and I began to write Ulysses," said Joyce, who died in 1941 at the age of 58.

During a 1922 interview with fellow writer Djuna Barnes for Vanity Fair, Joyce shared some insight into writing his characters in Ulysses, which include Leopold Bloom and Molly Bloom.

"In Ulysses I have recorded, simultaneously, what a man says, sees, thinks, and what such seeing, thinking, saying does, to what you Freudians call the subconscious,—but as for psychoanalysis, it’s neither more nor less than blackmail," said Joyce in the Vanity Fair interview.

When Toto first popped onto the music scene, the iconic soft rock band was comprised of six original members: Steve Lukather (Guitar/Vocals),David Paich(Keyboards/Vocals), Steve Porcaro (Keyboards/Synthesizers), Bobby Kimball (Lead Vocals), Jeff Porcaro (Drums), and David Hungate (Bass). Today, Aug. 5, 2026, Hungate celebrates his 78th birthday.

Born on Aug. 5, 1948, the retired guitarist is now widely considered a legendary bassist for his extensive work on several well-known '70s and '80s albums. As a key original member of Toto, he "provided a rhythmic anchor to a band that delivered classic songs Rosanna and Africa to the world," Inside Musicast noted. He played with the band from 1977 to 1982, contributing to the group's first four albums through the massive success of Toto IV.

Shortly after the Grammy award-winning Toto IV was released, Hungate exited the group, relocating with his family to Nashville, Tenn., where he continued to work with country music notables like Toby Keith, Reba, Linda Ronstadt, and Kenny Rogers. A true multi-hyphenate musician, in addition to the bass, he also is skilled at playing guitar, trombone, trumpet, drums, and piano.

In 1995, Hungate also played bass on all of the songs on Shania Twain's second album The Woman in Me.

Decades later in a full circle moment, the legend briefly reunited with Toto on a touring stint from 2014 to 2015, per Ultimate Classic Rock.

The telemedicine executive rose to power in Sunday's episode, continuing the string of Head of Household wins for the "Toolshed" alliance. And it was clear from the jump she was more than happy to bring some confrontation upstairs. Wielding the bluntness of a butter knife, so far we've witnessed her accuse Melody Morris of "mean girl behavior," while simultaneously talking about the game show host as well behind her back. But, in an exclusive sneak peek of tonight's 90-minute episode, another nominee is in the firing line: Taylor Brown.

Big Brother 28 Sneak Peek: Taylor and Haley Hash It Out in the HoH Room (1:58)

As we found out at the tail end of Sunday's episode, the elementary school counselor was a bit gobsmacked to find herself sitting on the block. In fact, she had been spending the past day putting in the work to instead make sure La Trice "Lala" Verrett wasn't going to get nominated, even feeding her information to throw Melody under the bus. But Taylor is just as direct, if not even more so, than Haley. And, demanding answers, we get to see what happens when an unstoppable force meets an immovable object.

The clip starts with Haley and Angela Muray luxuriating on the HoH bed, when Taylor rings the doorbell. Cursing under her breath, Haley lets her nominee in. And while Angela tries to soften the mood by complimenting Taylor's hair, it's not long before the women get down to business.

"I just wanted to know why I was put up on the block," Taylor says outright.

"For me, all last week, it was just uncomfortable," Haley answers. "Straight-up. And then the teapot thing, you were the only person laughing."

Yes indeed, Haley is referencing the infamous sequence of events from only a few days prior involving the season's most recent boot, Jason De Puy. After being put on the block himself, the drag queen decided to put on a show, banging a kettle around the house trying to call out people who were strategizing. As we flashback to that moment, we see an absolutely miserable Haley, complaining, "I'm gonna f—king lose it if he does that s—t around my f—king head again." Live feed watchers know that she wasn't feeling well that day, and having the constant clanging of a metal kitchen instrument in her ear was not making for a great Monday.

"You sat there and you laughed your ass off," Haley explains back in the present.

Indeed, as we time travel back to the kettle, Taylor was sitting at the dining room table, laughing at Jason's antics. But she was far from the only one. Rick Devens, a lover of chaos, was giggling from his seat. And even Angela herself was laughing, clearly taking some enjoyment out of the situation. When Taylor brings this up, however, Haley actually interrupts her, making a tutting noise that ratchets up the tension even more.

"I didn't bang the teapot in your ear," Taylor says.

"But you were the only one giggling," Haley retorts. "There was one point when you were the only person laughing. And it just sucks. It's guilty by association, who you're friends with."

"So it's 'cause of Jason," Taylor concludes. While Haley tries to shrug off the statement, Taylor follows up by saying she understands, she was simply wondering why. And while she leaves the HoH room rather quiet, she certainly is not in the Diary Room.

"I laughed at a teapot!" Taylor says. "So what?! It's still funny! I feel like Haley put me up for an emotional reason. And that's why I think I'm the target."

Once Taylor leaves the room, Angela apologizes to Haley, not knowing how she was affected by the kettle. But Haley is quick to admit that her rationale was completely fabricated, saying, "I just pulled that out of my ass. But she did sit there and giggle." Which does make sense, given how Taylor pointed out her argument was completely illogical.

"'Oh, poor me. I don't know why I was put up,'" Haley says, launching into a Taylor impression. "You also don't have any allies! If I have to be a bitch to a bitch, I will."

The wild thing about all of this is, while all of this was going down, Taylor wasn't even the house's target! The other members of the Toolshed were setting their sights on Drew Campbell, growing tired and paranoid of him playing both sides of the house. While Haley told him he was going up as a pawn, he was very clearly far from safe. And so, like a dented tea kettle, Taylor becomes yet another person that Haley has made steamed with her actions as HoH.

Thirty-one years after it helped transform Radiohead from the band behind "Creep" into one of alternative rock's defining acts, The Bends is receiving fresh recognition.

Barnes & Noble has selected the landmark 1995 album as its Album of the Month for August, highlighting the record that many critics credit with changing the trajectory of both the band and modern alternative rock. The retailer is also offering discounts on both the vinyl LP and CD editions throughout the month.

When The Bends arrived in March 1995, expectations were enormous. Radiohead had scored a surprise worldwide hit with "Creep," and their label hoped the band would simply deliver another radio-friendly anthem. Instead, Thom Yorke and company pushed in a more ambitious direction, creating an album filled with textured guitars, emotionally complex songwriting and atmospheric production.

In an editorial review, music critic Stephen Thomas Erlewine called The Bends the album where Radiohead "reinvented anthemic rock," praising its blend of sweeping instrumentation, haunting melodies and deeply personal songwriting. The review concludes that the record "reveals new details with each listen," helping explain why it remains one of the most celebrated albums of the decade.

Rolling Stone also said that the album "shocked the world" and called it "a musically dense and emotionally complex masterwork that erased their one-hit-wonder status forever."

The road to that acclaim was anything but smooth.

Recording sessions were marked by intense pressure, creative frustration and self-doubt as the band struggled to follow up the success of "Creep." At one point, bassist Colin Greenwood described the early sessions as "eight weeks of hell and torture," while producer John Leckie later recalled everyone trying too hard to create an instant hit.

Drummer Philip Selway reflected on that period in a 2015 interview with Stereogum, explaining that after the whirlwind success of debut album Pablo Honey, recording The Bends allowed the group to reconnect with themselves creatively.

"When we started to record The Bends, that felt like clear time again," Selway said. "We were riffing and writing around Oxford, so we were back at home and actually felt like a very recognizable process. It's something we've done for years, getting together and shutting ourselves away in a rehearsal room and writing and arranging material ... we were reconnecting with ourselves after having been in very, very unfamiliar territory."

While The Bends eventually reached No. 4 in the U.K., its success in the United States came gradually through word of mouth, extensive touring and memorable videos for songs like "Fake Plastic Trees," "Just" and "Street Spirit (Fade Out)." It ultimately earned platinum certification in the U.S. and quadruple-platinum status in the U.K., cementing its place among the defining rock albums of the 1990s.

Looking back on the album's reception, Selway said its reputation wasn't built overnight.

"It took time to build," he said. "The videos for 'Just' and 'Fake Plastic Trees' and 'Street Spirit,' those really established the record … it really did build a head of steam over the course of 1995. It wasn't like all guns blazing from the outset."

More than three decades later, The Bends continues to be celebrated as the album that elevated Radiohead beyond one-hit-wonder status, making its latest recognition a fitting tribute to one of alternative rock's enduring masterpieces.

A song that took less than an hour to write went on to dominate an entire summer.

Forty-three years ago, The Police were in the middle of an extraordinary run at the top of the charts with "Every Breath You Take." The ballad reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in July 1983 and remained there for eight consecutive weeks, becoming the band's only song to top the chart.

Released on May 20, 1983, "Every Breath You Take" served as the lead single from Synchronicity, The Police's fifth and final studio album. By then, Sting, Andy Summers and Stewart Copeland had already become one of the most successful bands to emerge from the late 1970s, but the song brought them an even greater level of international success.

Sting wrote the song in 1982 while staying at the Goldeneye estate in Jamaica during a difficult period in his personal life. The central line came to him in the middle of the night, and the rest of the song followed almost immediately.

"I woke up in the middle of the night with that line in my head ... and had written it in half an hour," Sting recalled.

Although its melody suggested a romantic ballad, Sting later explained that the lyrics were connected to jealousy, surveillance and control. The contrast helped make the song especially memorable, with its peaceful sound hiding the obsessive perspective of its narrator.

Turning Sting's original composition into the finished recording took considerably longer. His early demo centered on a Hammond organ, but Summers eventually created the song's instantly recognizable guitar part after drawing inspiration from composer Béla Bartók. Copeland's controlled rhythm and Sting's restrained vocal added to the unease beneath the polished arrangement.

The song also reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom, where it led the chart for four weeks. Its success helped Synchronicity become The Police's biggest album, with the record eventually selling more than 15 million copies worldwide.

"Every Breath You Take" continued its awards success the following year. Sting received the Grammy for Song of the Year, while The Police won Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal for the recording at the 1984 Grammy Awards.

Lifetime’s upcoming All My Children revival films will be penned by a Daytime Emmy Award-winning duo, according to Daytime Confidential.

The highly anticipated revival has been in development by former All My Children stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos, and now Daytime Confidential has revealed that former One Life to Live and General Hospital headwriter Ron Carlivati will be teaming up with recently announced The Young and the Restless headwriter Jamey Giddens to pen the highly anticipated films.

The films have the backing of the Agnes Nixon estate and will be produced by Andrew Stearn.

While little is known about the specific plot of the films, Daytime Confidential reports that the movies will give viewers a glimpse into what life has been like for Erica Kane (Susan Lucci) and Dr. Maria Santos Gray (Eva LaRue) following the series original cancellation in 2011. It is also expected that Ripa and Consuelos will make their own appearance in the films as Haley and Mateo Santos.

All My Children originally aired between January 5, 1970 and its cancellation on September 23, 2011.

The series was originally revived in a short-lived online reboot for Hulu in 2013; however, after slightly over forty episodes, the show was once again canceled, this time due to various legal concerns between production company Prospect Park and ABC.

Ripa and Consuelos previously developed a primetime reimagining of the series for ABC entitled Pine Valley that took the classic world of the beloved soap opera and put a mysterious spin on the storylines, with many comparing the series to the CW’s Riverdale. However, the project didn’t move forward.

All My Children recently returned to viewers' screens internationally thanks to BEONDTV and their partnership with PlutoTV Canada. While no current plans have been confirmed for streaming in the United States, the estate of Agnes Nixon told viewers on Instagram to “stay tuned” as they are actively working with ABC to open the vault.

No date has been revealed for when the Lifetime movies will air, but with news of the award-winning writers being behind the scenes, viewers anxiously await the next bit of news.

"Nobody ever thought that Beatlemania could be reached again and we did it," McKeown told the Edmonton Journal. "We got to the same heights that they got to. But it was like a fantasy. We all came from Edinburgh. We were all like 17 and 18 when all this happened. It was like something we never could ever dream would happen."

For McKeown, "The Way I Feel Tonight" showcased his growth as a vocalist.

Still only 21, he delivered one of the most mature performances of his career, balancing vulnerability with confidence. His expressive singing helped transform the song into a fan favorite that remained a regular feature of the band's live performances and greatest-hits collections.

Although the musical landscape shifted dramatically in the years that followed, "The Way I Feel Tonight" endured.

“It simply felt like my whole teenage world was exploding,” McKeown told UK Music Reviewsin 2018. “I always thought of it as being a super adventure traveling the world having girlfriends of every nationality. I was on top of the world. I always thought that every single young boy should have this experience. They should have been allowed to spend at least a year in the Bay City Rollers world. Britain would have been a far happier nation.”

Its encouraging lyrics and timeless melody have continued to resonate with listeners, earning the song a lasting place on soft rock and oldies playlists. For many fans, it remains one of the Bay City Rollers' most heartfelt and underrated classics.
