Legendary ’90s Rocker Announces Exclusive Collaboration Amid 2026 Tour

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 2:48pm

Wes Borland, the iconic guitarist and co-founder of '90s nu-metal group Limp Bizkit, has secured an epic guitar collaboration with Jackson Guitars amid the band's 2026 tour. The exciting news was shared Wednesday afternoon via Instagram, thrilling longtime fans and guitarists alike.

The design of Borland's signature model was directly inspired by his iconic custom King V, which he famously altered from a left-handed to a right-handed guitar. The new model features a Seymour Duncan Invader SH8 bridge humbucker, described as a "high-output ceramic powerhouse that crushes with massive low-end chunk while maintaining razor-sharp clarity"—a sonic intensity engineered to mirror Borland's signature sound.

Borland has previously shared his praise for the company, stating that he appreciates their historical ability to push boundaries with their craftsmanship. "Jackson is fun," Borland noted. "The over-the-top, shred-a-copter shapes and my outrageous stage costumes pushing the boundaries, this fits in more with that. The way people dress, it affects how you behave, and I think it also changes how I play guitar."

Jackson Guitars' Product Development Manager, Peter Wichers, recently expressed his excitement regarding the landmark collaboration, uplifting Borland as a uniquely influential figure in the nu-metal genre while reflecting on the process of designing the instrument.

"Wes Borland is unlike anyone else in nu-metal—nobody looks or sounds like him," said Wichers. "When our artist rep Mike Tempesta introduced Wes to some Jackson Custom Shop guitars, he picked a left-handed King V and modded it for his right-hand playing, which left the headstock logo upside down. He loved it, so we kept it. That happy accident became one of the most iconic details of the whole build. Being involved in the development of his Signature King V has been an incredibly cool project, and I think that shows in every inch of this guitar."

The new Pro Series Signature Wes Borland King V KV is now available for purchase on Jackson Guitars' official website.

Barack Obama Found the One Hilarious Way to Torturously ‘Bully’ Steven Spielberg

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 2:45pm

Ahead of the highly anticipated film Disclosure Day, StevenSpielberg made his third-ever podcast appearance on Wednesday with IMO with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson.

He revealed that former President BarackObama visited the film’s set without most of the cast’s knowledge.

“The kids didn't know Barack, except from what he's done for the world and who he represents,” Spielberg said. “And I have a very extroverted cast. You could hear a pin drop when he walked in.”

Adding “It was a bit of a religious experience” for the film’s stars. The Disclosure Day ensemble cast includes EmilyBlunt, Josh O'Connor, Colin Firth, EveHewson, Wyatt Russell, and Colman Domingo.

The upcoming sci-fi thriller follows a race to expose the global government conspiracy hiding proof of extraterrestrial life. It is Spielberg’s latest feature film since The Fabelmans in 2022.

The Jaws director added that this was the first set the former president had ever been on. Despite giving him an inside look at filming, Spielberg has kept the final film under wraps.

The podcast co-host and former first lady, MichelleObama, revealed her husband’s frustration with not receiving an early screening. Adding that he “is a bully” when it involves Spielberg’s films.

This didn’t seem to be the first time the E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial director had heard Barack Obama’s disappointment.

“He said if he wasn't among the first to see it, he was gonna watch it only on an iPhone,” Spielberg said. “And he said he wouldn't watch it horizontally; he'd only watch it vertically.”

“Which he knows would irritate you,” Obama responded. Her brother and co-host Craig Robinson chimed in, “Oh, that's not nice.”

Soon, audiences (including the former president) will be able to see Spielberg’s latest film. Disclosure Day will hit the big screen on June 12, 2026.

'Criminal Minds: Evolution' Boss on Not a 'Dry Eye' After Killing Off a Fan-Favorite Character

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 2:42pm

As if there isn’t enough grief on Criminal Minds: Evolution, in Episode 2 of Season 19, which premiered today, there’s another death of a fan-favorite character. Last season saw the loss of JJ’s (A.J. Cook) husband Will (Josh Stewart) and this season, it’s the death of Luke Alvez’s (Adam Rodriguez) beloved Belgian Shepherd Roxy.

For many, the loss of a human and a dog aren’t equated, but viewers have to take into account how special Roxy was to Luke. She saved his life when he was at a mental crossroads trying to adapt to civilian life, and her death from a tumor resulted in his coming home to an empty house.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

“It was a devastating character loss for sure,” showrunner Erica Messer exclusively told Parade. “It really kicks off a great season for Adam, and a different kind of loss than what JJ had the year before. I think it’s a universal loss. Any of us who have lost pets, we can all immediately go back to what that was for us when that happened. There was not a dry eye in the read through. Everybody was crying. It was really sad.”

As someone who watches television and is constantly yelling at the screen, “not the dog,” it was clear from the first moment that Luke appeared at the cemetery and flashed back to speaking with the doctor – who turned out to be a vet – that it was going to be his beloved canine.

The episode, written by longtime Criminal Minds staffer Breen Frazier did tie in Roxy’s death with the case of the week in which the unsub also had suffered from a brain tumor and it was Luke's experience with Roxy that sent him on the right track in locating the unsub.

Roxy was introduced in Season 12 and we saw Luke take Penelope Garcia (Kirsten Vangsness) to task when she tried to give Roxy treats because he had her on a special diet, trying to give her the healthiest life possible.

“I’ll tell you at the beginning of the next season, we’re putting the pressure on him to get a new dog,” Messer added. “Season 19, he remains in mourning for Roxy, which also feels like that happens. But we all here behind the scenes want a puppy on set. So, we’re like, ‘how can we do it?’”

Criminal Minds: Evolution began streaming new episodes today exclusively on Paramount+, with new episodes dropping each Thursday through the season finale on July 23. There are 10 episodes this season.

Why Did Young MC, Morris Day, and C+C Music Factory Back Out of the Freedom 250 Great American State Fair?

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 2:32pm

On Wednesday, Freedom 250 revealed a list of stars who will perform at the Trump-backed Great American State Fair. But now it looks like a few acts, including Young MC, Morris Day and The Time, and C+C Music Factory, won’t participate in the 16-day event on the National Mall.

What Is the Great American State Fair?

Freedom 250 organized the massive Washington, D.C. festival in celebration of the country’s 250th birthday this July 4th. Slated to go from June 25 through July 10, the Great American State Fair will feature performers, national theme pavilions, a 110-foot Ferris wheel, themed days, and plenty more.

Who Will and Won’t Perform At the Great American State Fair?

The initial list of special guests, speakers, and musical icons who were set to perform at the festival included Martina McBride, Vanilla Ice, Milli Vanilli, The Commodores, Bret Michaels, Flo Rida, Morris Day and The Time, Young MC, and C+C Music Factory.

Even though Freedom 250 just released this list on Wednesday, May 27, by Thursday, some of the acts had already decided it was a no-go. And it’s no surprise that politics are at the center of this controversy.

Legendary “Bust a Move” rapper Young MC pulled the plug on his performance, sharing on Facebook, “I have informed my agents that I will not be performing at the Freedom 250 event. The artists were never told about any political involvement with the event. And despite the claims by the organizers that the event is non-partisan, SPIN magazine describes it as Trump-backed. I hope to perform in D.C. in the near future at an event that is not so politically charged.

Likewise, Morris Day and The Time also took to Facebook, posting this statement, “Contrary to rumor, Morris Day & The Time will not be performing at the Great American State Fair” along with, “It’s A No For Me.”

But it didn’t stop there. C+C Music Factory’s Freedom Williams (in a lengthy rant from his bathroom) posted a video on Instagram, “I just got some texts all day, I’ve kind of been out of the loop. ‘You doing the Trump Freedom show? Yo, you doing the show on the 250th anniversary of the U.S. with Donald Trump?’ I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’”

After an, um, let's just say, spirited explanation that he has absolutely nothing to do with Donald Trump, Williams goes on to explain that his agent called him a few months ago, asking him to do a show in Washington, D.C. Of course, he said yes. But at the time, his agent didn't mention Trump. After learning about the political affiliation, Williams backed out of the event.

The C+C Music Factory performer kept going, making it clear that he also had plenty to say about his critics who are trying to “cancel” him and politicians in general. And that’s not even the half of it!

The Herschel Heritage Duffel's weather-resistant construction is a top feature for shoppers. Rain or shine, you can trust that your clothes, shoes, and precious travel gadgets will stay dry. The fabric feels sturdy and more unique than your standard duffel — one reviewer even called it "neat and not standard." The attention to detail is classic Herschel, with a minimal look and that signature heritage style.

Packing is a breeze thanks to the U-shaped top zipper. It opens up wide, making it easy to see everything inside and grab what you need. That means no more rooting around in a dark bag for your last clean sock. Reviewers love the convenient access. As one happy customer put it, "the top zip opens up and allows for really nice access to the inside compartment."

Size-wise, this duffel is ideal for quick trips. It's compact enough to fit in an overhead bin or toss in the back seat. But thanks to a 37-liter capacity, it's still roomy enough for a couple of changes of clothes, your shoes, and those weekend trip essentials. One reviewer, a self-described "tall guy with big feet," noted it's perfect for short trips, though if you're packing for a longer adventure, you might want to size up.

Another shopper called the bag "husband-approved," noting that it "fits a lot" and has "really nice access" with all the pockets. If you’re on the hunt for a fun yet practical Father’s Day, birthday, or graduation gift, this is a great option that won’t break the bank.

A few users did note that they wish the shoulder strap had an extra pad like other Herschel duffels. But with sturdy handles and a lightweight build, most find it comfortable enough for airport dashes and city strolls alike.

Why 'Perfect Match' Fans Think Ally and Hashim's Clip Went Too Far

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 2:07pm

Season 4 of Perfect Match showed Ally Lewber and Jimmy Presnell matched repeatedly. But they always kept their options open to other cast members, which made things messy. Another man made a shocking reveal in the finale, and fans aren't happy about it.

Spoiler warning for the Perfect Match Season 4 finale.

Ally and Jimmy's Shocking 'Perfect Match' Season 4 Finale

Ally, 32, was matched with the Love Is Blind alum, but grew closer to Hashim Moore when the couples were separated. Episode 7 showed the Vanderpump Rules star torn between matching with Hashim, 31, or Jimmy, 30, late at night.

She sat on Jimmy's lap and said she didn't know what decision to make. It sounded like she was crying and hiding her face. Jimmy gave up after she went to talk to Hashim and left. But he was brought in the next day and sat next to Ally in the finale. Hashim made a shocking reveal before the cast voted.

"This is pretty uncomfortable for me, but like, just bro code," Hashim said in front of the cast. "Me and Ally were, like physically intimate." Ally shook her head and looked shocked. Jimmy said he knew that they had kissed.

"You guys just need to have a conversation," Hashim added. The episode showed a clip of Hashim and Ally in bed. He was lying down and she was under the covers on top of him. Some fans thought this went too far for several reasons.

"Am I the only one who thought that was unnecessary and [kind of] gross?" a fan asked on Reddit. "She was coupled up with someone else, it just felt exploitative. Classic reality TV I guess but lol at that being the messiest thing they could air."

"She was also extremely drunk in those scenes which makes it even worse," another person replied.

"That was so uncalled for! For 'nice guy' Hashim to tell the world then for Netflix to air it. She should have been in a room by her damn self that night considering how drunk she was," another commenter wrote.

Ally and Jimmy didn't win. She refused to talk more about what happened between her and Hashim.

Ally told Tudum that they weren't ready to date after the show. She also said she felt "embarrassed" by Hashim and said that was "no one’s business." Sophie Willett and Dave Hand won and enjoyed a trip to the Maldives.

Resurfaced Footage After Queen Elizabeth’s Death Is ‘Still Heartbreaking’

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:54pm

Video recently shared on social media showed just how locals of London came together the day that Queen Elizabeth II died.

The footage captured by London tour guide, David Harry, known as The London Spy, showed a crowd outside of Buckingham Palace soon after it was announced that she had died.

"I captured this moment in history, barely half an hour after Queen Elizabeth's death had been announced," he wrote. "As a crowd started to gather outside Buckingham Palace, a single voice started to sing 'God Save the Queen,' and the crowd joined in."

View this post on Instagram

"I cycled over as soon as I heard the news on the radio to catch this moment in history," Harry also said in the comment section on his post, which was filled with royal fans remembering the late queen and reliving the moment news of her death became public.

"Rest in peace to the greatest sovereign this nation has ever witnessed, Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II," one wrote. "We miss you."

"When I heard the news I did have a tear in my eye she was our queen and solely missed," another said. "Charles is trying to be a good king but he has big shoes the fill."

"Bro I remember watching the news with my parent’s one minute and then it just went black and suddenly they were all in black suits," another said, presumably referring to the historic BBC broadcast.

The queen, who was 96 when she passed, had served as the UK's longest-reigning monarch having been crowned in 1953 at age 27. Her son, now King Charles, was coronated in May of 2023.

Upon what would have been his mother's 100th birthday last month, the King shared a heartfelt tribute in a broadcast message in her memory.

“Millions will remember her for moments of national significance; many others for a fleeting personal encounter, a smile, a kind word that lifted spirits, or for that marvelous twinkle of the eye when sharing a marmalade sandwich with Paddington Bear in the final months of her life...God bless you, darling mama. You remain forever in our hearts and prayers.”

Most recently, the late monarch has been memorialized through fashion as an exhibit of her famed outfits have been on display at Buckingham Palace.

44 Years Later, Iconic '80s Film Anthem Still Gives Us Chills—But It Almost Sounded Completely Different

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:45pm

When Rocky III was released 44 years ago, Sylvester Stallone had a specific song in mind to show Rocky Balboa's intense training to regain his title. Unfortunately, he wasn't able to get the publishing rights to it. The song was none other than "Another One Bites the Dust" by Queen, which is also the band's highest-selling single and one of their most popular songs of all time.

After realizing that he wouldn't be able to use the song, Stallone reached out to Survivor, a fledgling Chicago rock band that had yet to have a No. 1 song. In a 2012 interview with Guitar World, the band's co-founder and guitarist Jim Peterik talked about the fateful day he came home to a voicemail from Stallone.

"At first, I thought it was a joke, but I called the number and sure enough, Stallone answered," Peterik said. "He told me that he loved the band and had heard 'Poor Man’s Son' and 'Take You On A Saturday' from our Premonition album and wanted that same kind of 'street' sound for his new movie, Rocky III."

'Thank You, Queen!'

Stallone sent a copy of the film, and Peterik watched it with bandmate Frankie Sullivan. They were both surprised to hear that "Another One Bites the Dust" had already been edited into the scenes. When he asked why he didn't just use that, Stallone explained that he couldn't get the rights to use it.

"At that point, I just said, 'Thank you, Queen!'" Peterik joked.

Survivor became a household name, thanks to "Eye of the Tiger." The song was in the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 for 15 weeks and No. 1 for 6 weeks. It won a Grammy Award for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song.

The Secret Tape Still Exists Today

In 1982, Queen's Brian May attended one of Survivor's concerts. May had heard the story and asked Sullivan about it. He confirmed that "Another One Bites the Dust" did play in the film copy they received. "I offered to send him a copy of the tape, which I still own," he told Louder Sound.

Lemieux recently made a public appearance on Monday, May 25, in Montreal before Game 3 of the Eastern Conference final between the Canadiens and the Carolina Hurricanes.

Following this tragic news, many people rushed to pay tribute to the NHL legend.

"Dude was so clutch. When playoffs came his game elevated 10x. Unreal he's gone so early," one person wrote.

"Man this hurts. One of the great personalities in the NHL. Cast as the bad guy in every city other than his own," another person shared.

"Rest easy, Pepe. I’m grateful you got one last ovation from the fans to let you know you were loved," a fan commented.

"This man completely shaped the landscape of the NHL in the 90s. He won several cups and ignited the most passionate rivalry I've ever seen. Rest In Peace Legend," another fan expressed.

"One of my all time favorite Habs. This man was made for playoff hockey," one fan said.

Pilates Instructors Say This Is the #1 Mistake Beginners Make

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:25pm

We all make mistakes. And as long as you learn from them, it’s all good. Exercising is no exception. When it comes to Pilates, poor alignment or overexertion can lead to strained muscles, lower back pain or injury.

While Pilates can be a truly incredible low-impact form of exercise—especially as you age—it’s important to be in the know about certain mistakes that can derail your progress. If you’re a total beginner, signing up for a class with a certified Pilates instructor is an excellent way to learn correct form, helpful tips and how to blend mindful breathing with intentional movement. In the meantime, we spoke with Pilates instructors who all agree on the #1 mistake beginners make.

Before we begin, it’s important to understand why so many people struggle with Pilates when they first start practicing it.

“What differentiates Pilates from any other modality is that it is a qualitative form of training that prioritizes movement quality before movement quantity,” Katie Yip, Pilates coach and certified Pilates instructor, tells Parade. “It first begins with mindful engagement, followed by the physical movements. Most exercise and athletics emphasize measurable outcomes: repetitions performed, weight lifted, goals scored and time elapsed. Pilates differs from that framework entirely. The goal is movement quality; not how much, but how well, and if we can initiate and execute every exercise from the core, moving through a joint’s full range of motion with complete control.”

When performing Pilates, this usually means reducing spring tension, limiting the range of motion or performing fewer reps to complete the session with intent.

Now, let’s explore the most common mistake beginners make when starting Pilates and how it can impact your practice.

The #1 Mistake Beginners Make When Starting Pilates, Instructors Say

The #1 mistake beginners make? It's approaching Pilates the same way as you would other forms of exercise and focusing on quantity.

Joseph Pilates established Pilates—which was originally called “Contrology”—to condition both the mind and body in a holistic manner. The goal of Pilates is to strengthen all muscles while developing the body uniformly, says Yip. In other words, no movement pattern or muscle is left unaddressed.

"Novice students often approach Pilates with the same mindset as they would general exercise. This becomes problematic because it leads to frustration, and often giving up on Pilates too early, when the expectations of achieving certain movements aren’t met,” she adds.

In addition to strengthening the larger muscle groups, Pilates trains the smaller muscles in charge of joint control and efficient mechanics. Traditional exercise and resistance training typically focus on single plane motions, while Pilates promotes movement across all ranges and planes of movement, emphasizing alignment, control and stability.

“Pilates has a fundamentally different goal, which requires a fundamentally different strategy and mindset,” Yip tells Parade.

Hannah Lawrence, Pilates instructor and studio manager at Sundrop Pilates in Denver, CO, agrees that many individuals head into their first session with the same mentality they bring to regular gym workouts.

“They expect to be sweating buckets, moving fast and feeling wiped out by the end. But Pilates is totally different. It’s slower, more controlled and way more focused on how you’re actually moving rather than just pushing hard,” she explains.

How To Reframe Your Expectations

The absolute best thing you can do as a novice is consider Pilates as a practice and not just another sweat session. According to Lawrence, it’s all about understanding how your body moves and gradually establishing better patterns.

“It doesn’t click for everyone overnight, but the more consistent you are, the more it starts to make sense and the changes become pretty addictive,” Lawrence explains.

How This Mistake Impacts Core Engagement, Posture and Movement Quality

If your main focus is the quantitative aspect of a workout, precision and core control often get pushed to the back burner.

“When the priority shifts from how an exercise is executed to simply performing it, inefficient movement habits can develop, potentially leading to improper abdominal pressure management, poor posture and even injury. In Pilates, how you move is key, even if it means sacrificing range of motion or the appearance of the exercise,” Yip tells Parade.

Foundational Pilates Principles To Prioritize When Getting Started

The six essential principles of Pilates include control, centering, concentration, precision, flow and breath. Yip breaks each one down:

  • Control: Exercise should always be performed with intention and guided by the mind.
  • Centering: Every movement should begin and be supported from your core.
  • Concentration: Each movement should be performed with complete focus and attention.
  • Precision: All exercises should be executed with proper form and alignment.
  • Flow: The movements, their order and the transitions between them should flow together seamlessly and make the work you do in the studio transferable to everyday life.
  • Breath: Breathwork helps integrate each movement into one coordinated whole.

“While there are six principles, beginners should first prioritize concentration, centering and control. Once those are sufficient, can they begin incorporating the latter three principles,” Yip says.

Early, Non-Visual Cues That Pilates Is Working

While you may be focused on physical changes, there’s a lot that happens behind the scenes that signals you’re making real progress.

“Many new clients get frustrated because they expect to see big physical changes right away. Unfortunately, that’s how Pilates is often sold on Instagram. But the real early wins are usually much more subtle,” Lawrence explains. “People start standing taller without thinking about it. Their neck and shoulders feel less tight. They notice their balance is better, or that they can move through their day without that familiar lower back ache. Clients will tell me things like, ‘I didn’t realize how much I was slouching at my desk until I stopped doing it,’ or, ‘My back hasn’t bothered me in weeks.’”

Remember that Pilates is a completely different approach to exercise than what you may be used to. Soaking up its amazing benefits means parting ways with any preconceived notions of what you think a workout should be, opening your mind and trusting the process.

Country Star Forced to Postpone Shows Due to Undisclosed Illness: ‘See You Real Soon’

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:13pm

Bailey Zimmerman was hoping he could power through his next few performances, but unfortunately, that is not the case.

On Wednesday, May 27, the country music superstar, 26, turned to social media to announce that he is currently battling an illness that has led to the postponement of two of his shows. Zimmerman didn’t reveal what illness has pulled him away from the stage, but he did note that the setback has been difficult for him to accept because of how much he loves performing for his fans.

“Y’all know there’s nothing I love more than getting out on the road and playing these shows for you, so it’s so hard for me to have to say this, but I have to reschedule tonight’s (5/27) and Saturday’s (5/30) shows,” Zimmerman wrote in a statement to the fans on Instagram, letting ticket holders know that the concerts for his stops at the Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico and at The Event at Graton Resort & Casino in Rohnert Park, California, were now going to take place at a later date.

"I have not been feeling well and have tried to power through, but I’m not able to give you all the show you deserve,” he added. “I hate letting y’all down and was really looking forward to these shows, but I gotta take care of myself so I can get back out there stronger.”

Zimmerman’s currently postponed shows have yet to be re-added to his calendar, but he promised: “We will be announcing the rescheduled dates as soon as possible, and all tickets will be honored for the new dates.”

“Love y’all so much, and I appreciate the prayers and understanding — I’ll see you real soon,” he wrote in closing.

Zimmerman has been on the road playing shows as part of his first-ever headlining arena tour, dubbed the Different Night Same Rodeo tour. The current leg of his 2026 run launched on Feb. 19 in Estero, Florida, and will run through June 20, wrapping in Ontario, Canada.

This summer, Zimmerman will perform at various fairs and festivals before his headlining trek heads overseas for a string of fall dates. For additional concert updates and a full listing of tour dates, visit Bailey Zimmerman’s official website.

Keanu Reeves Speaks Out on '47 Ronin' Director's Netflix Fraud Case, Asks for 'Leniency and Mercy'

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:11pm

Keanu Reeves has come out in support of director Carl Rinsch, who directed the actor's 2013 action fantasy film 47 Ronin. Rinsch is currently facing a fraud case worth over $11 million involving Netflix, with Reeves asking for some leniency.

According to Entertainment Weekly, documents obtained reveal the actor submitted a letter on May 1 to Judge Jed Rakoff. The John Wick star admits he doesn't fully know the details of the case of Rinsch's involvement in the fraud allegations.

"I do not know the details of this case," said Reeves. "But based upon what I do know about Carl, I did want to take the opportunity to write on his behalf, in the hope that his sentence might be tempered with measures of leniency and mercy as well as justice."

Back in December, it was reported that Rinsch was convicted of one count of wire fraud, one count of money laundering, and five counts of engaging in monetary transactions in property derived from specified unlawful activity. The details were announced by the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Southern District of New York.

It was reported that Rinsch had received $11 million in funding from an unnamed streaming service, now known to be Netflix. The money was planned to be used to supplement the production budget of a sci-fi series titled White Horse by the director. It was later revealed that Rinsch instead used the money for personal investments.

Later reports claim that Rinsch was first given $44 million by the streaming platform from 2018 to 2019, and asked for an additional $11 million to complete the series. The USAO then stated that the $11 million was moved in various accounts before entering Rinsch's personal brokerage account. The remaining money was used on cryptocurrency and personal purchases.

Reeves also addressed in his letter that he's advocating for Rinsch as an "artistic peer" and "friend." He states that "In my opinion, Carl can self-sabotage by amplifying the scale, scope, and landscape of what had been negotiated, accordingly placing himself and his counterparties at odds. I do not intend to share this as an excuse or diminishment of what he was found to have done, but offer this solely as perhaps an insight into why."

Rinsch could face up to 90 years in prison if given a full sentence, with Reeves asking for leniency "to the extent you deem appropriate, I believe such leniency would be a healing act, to go along with the punishment he will live with."

47 Ronin was a box office flop as it made $151 million versus its $225 million budget. It was Rinsch's sole directorial credit, with a sequel having been released on Netflix in 2022.

25 Years Before Becoming WWE Royalty, The Miz Debuted on MTV’s ‘The Real World’

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:02pm

Wrestling fans love The Miz for his "awesome" skills in the ring and on the mic. However, before his sensational debut in the WWE Universe, he first appeared to TV audiences as Mike Mizanin on MTV's The Real World: Back to New York.

In 2001, the Real World franchise's 10th season kicked off with a return to New York City, where the hit reality TV series first began. Longtime fans of the show may remember Mizanin's love of wrestling back then, which left his roommates both amused and skeptical of his dreams of becoming a WWE Superstar.

Reflecting on his journey from college student to Real World fame, Mizanin told Bleacher Report in 2017, "I'm 20 years old. I move to New York City, the biggest melting pot in the world. You go in there. You have these cameras on you. You have roommates you've never met before, people from all walks of life. Right from the start, it felt like I was the outcast, the person that nobody was going to like."

To feel more comfortable in front of the Real World cameras and his housemates, Mizanin decided to lean into his Miz persona. "The Miz came in as a way to say exactly what I was feeling and not have repercussions for it because it was a character I was playing. That character became very popular, not only with fans but with castmates," he recalled.

Fortunately for the Ohio native, this approach encouraged him to pursue his professional wrestling dreams. After his stint on Real World: Back to New York, Mizanin trained at wrestling school and grappled for promotions such as the now-defunct Ultimate Pro Wrestling (UPW) in Southern California and Impact Zone Wrestling (IZW) in Arizona. Then, in 2004, he was cast on the fourth season of the wrestling reality competition series, Tough Enough. Although Mizanin didn't win the competition, even after making it to the final round, his gumption and tenacity caught the attention of WWE higher-ups, who offered him a developmental contract with the company.

Fast-forward 25 years, and The Miz has become one of the world's greatest wrestlers in WWE. Since joining the top-ranked wrestling promotion, the WWE Smackdown star has earned countless championship titles, appeared as a character in WWE video games, taken on film and television roles, and much more. He has also returned to reality TV as the current host of the American Gladiators reboot and has appeared on WWE-centered shows such as Total Divas, Total Bellas, and his own series, Miz & Mrs., alongside his wife and two-time WWE Divas Champion, Maryse Mizanin.

After all these years, Mike Mizanin credits his time on The Real World for his astronomical success in WWE. "The Real World is the reason that I became a WWE superstar," he told TV Guide's Keisha Hatchett in 2018.

"If it wasn't for The Real World, I'd probably be working at my dad's Mr. Hero flipping burgers and dropping fries. It made me realize I could do anything that I wanted."

1970s Punk Icons, Feuding for Nearly 20 Years, Are Playing the Same Fall Festival

Thu, 05/28/2026 - 1:00pm

It’s called the Riot Fest, and the long-time Chicago festival may just turn into that with some famously feuding punk legends both booked for this year’s fest, set for Sept. 18-20 in Douglass Park.

The lineup revealed on May 28 shows the Sex Pistols, with relatively new frontman Frank Carter, are performing at the festival, which will also feature a performance by Public Image Ltd., the band singer John Lydon, aka Johnny Rotten, formed in 1978 after the Sex Pistols initial breakup.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade's Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Lydon reunited with the other three Pistols—guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook and original bassist Glen Matlock (who was founding member of the before he was replaced by Sid Vicious)—in 1996, 2002-2003 and in 2007-2008 before they split again amid bad blood and legal wrangling.

Since the daily lineups for Riot Fest have yet to be released it’s unclear whether the Sex Pistols and PiL will perform on the same day, but festival organizers seem to be playing up the beef with the Sex Pistols name appearing on the poster directly above Public Image Ltd.

Lydon and the band’s other members had a falling out after completing their 2008 reunion dates, but things got particularly nasty in 2021 when Jones and Cook sued Lydon to allow the band’s music to be featured in the FX miniseries Pistol, based on Jones’s 2016 memoir, Lonely Boy: Takes from a Sex Pistol.

During the trial, Lydon said, “I care very much about this band and its reputation and its quality control and I will always have a say if I think anything is being done to harm or damage [it]."

Jones and Cook won the case and didn’t close the door on working together with Lydon in the future with the statement: "It has not been a pleasant experience, but we believe it was necessary to allow us to move forward and hopefully work together in the future with better relations."

With Lydon apparently still holding a grudge against his former bandmates, in 2024 the Sex Pistols announced a reunion benefit show with new vocalist, former Gallows singer Frank Carter of Frank Carter and the Rattlesnakes.

In 2025, the band announced a tour celebrating their 50th anniversary, but it was forced to postpone the initial run of dates after Jones broke his wrist.

Meanwhile, Lydon not surprisingly does not approve of his former bandmates carrying the Pistols banner without him.

“When I first heard that the Sex Pistols were touring this year without me it pissed me off. It annoyed me. I just thought, ‘they’re absolutely going to kill all that was good with the Pistols by eliminating the point and the purpose of it all.’ I didn’t write those words lightly. They’re trying to trivialize the whole show to get away with karaoke but in the long term I think you’ll see who has the value and who doesn’t,” he told The iPaper in 2025. “I’ve never sold my soul to make a dollar. It’s the Catholic in me – that guilt I don’t want to trip.”

While Lydon didn’t let up on the karaoke charges, he later gave a complement to Turner while throwing in a few more jabs.

“It’s weird,” he told Classic Rock. “[It’s] a dumbing down of all the integrity, intensity, genuine honesty and heartfelt emotions I put into that band.”

“Of course, it’s karaoke, but it’s like… Come on, Mr Carter, you’re not Johnny Rotten, I am. Right? Stop it,” he added, before giving the new frontman a slight nod: “I actually think he took it on in the right spirit.”

The headliners for this year’s Riot Fest are Tool, Twenty One Pilots, Pierce the Veil and Alanis Morissette with other notables Morrissey, Iggy Pop, Sugar and Patti Smith and dozens of others also on the bill.
