Shania Twain has announced a surprise upcoming show in a small 200-capacity venue in London. On June 6th, the Grammy-winning country legend will appear at the Shacklewell Arms for her smallest gig in decades.

To grab a ticket to this highly anticipated show, you'll need to enter a ballot, which gives fans the chance to buy up to two tickets via Dice should their name be pulled. If you don't make the ballot, you can try for a spot through the performer's social media on May 29th.

The 60-year-old announced the intimate show on her Instagram account, reminiscing about starting her career at "just eight years old, performing on the late-night bar circuit in her hometown of Timmins, Ontario."

She added that the small venue was a way for her to retrace "her steps from that timid eight year old to the powerhouse she has become, celebrating her journey to the top through deeply personal songwriting and unique artistry…."

Although small and unassuming, Far Out Magazine reports that The Shackwell Arms in East London has seen performances from the likes of Amyl and the Sniffers, FKA Twigs, Wolf Alice, Fontaines DC, and Haim.

The last time the 'That Don't Impress Me Much' singer was in London, she was playing to a much bigger crowd as the headliner of the BST Hyde Park festival. She followed this show with a well-received set at the iconic Glastonbury Festival, playing the Legends slot, which celebrates classic artists and their careers.

If you miss out on Shania in London this time, she'll return in June and July, supporting Harry Styles on his record-breaking 12-night run at Wembley Stadium. The country star will also play the headline slot at Limerick City’s Thomond Park Stadium in Ireland on July 7th.

The tour dates come amid Twain releasing her seventh studio album, Little Miss Twain, on July 24th via Republic, following her 2023 release of Queen Of Me.

One of the best things about TV shows in the '80s was most definitely the abundance of unforgettable theme songs...some of which were actually kind of better than the shows themselves. In fact, one standout track that's forever etched into the subconscious of just about every pop culture-loving Gen X-er out there, "Theme from The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not)," almost made it to the very top of the charts.

For those who don't remember, The Greatest American Hero was a massively popular comedy-drama series starring William Katt as a high school teacher who ends up with a superhero suit he doesn't really know how to use (setting the stage for all manner of comedic hijinks).

The theme song, performed by yacht rock singer Joey Scarbury, had one of the catchiest choruses of the era:

Believe it or not, I'm walking on air.
I never thought I could feel so free.
Flying away on a wing and a prayer,
Who could it be?
Believe it or not, it's just me.

The sweet, hopeful theme was written by lyricist Stephen Geyer and composer Mike Post. As the latter explained in a 2005 interview, Scarbury "was an artist that I was producing, and had produced on three different record companies before that — unsuccessfully in terms of hits, but successfully in terms of how great a singer he was.” 

Greatest American Hero producer Stephen J. Cannell reached out to Post about writing a theme song, and though Post thought the premise for the show was "nuts," he agreed, saying, "We’ll call up Stephen Geyer and see if he can write a lyric where maybe he can make an analogy between love and flying in a suit.”

"Theme from The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not)" wasn't just a hit on TV, as it peaked at #2 on the BillboardHot 100 in 1981 ("Endless Love" by Diana Ross and Lionel Richie kept it from the top spot).

Years later, "Theme from The Greatest American Hero (Believe It or Not)" made a memorable return to the small screen thanks to an iconic episode of Seinfeld. In Season 8's "The Susie," George Costanza (Jason Alexander) uses the song as inspiration for his answering machine message, singing:

Believe it or not, George isn't at home
Please leave a message at the beep
I must be out, or I'd pick up the phone
Where could I be? Believe it or not, I'm not home

Fifty-six years ago today, an uplifting song about unity and acceptance became the most popular record in America.

"Everything Is Beautiful" by Ray Stevens reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1970, giving Stevens the first chart-topping hit of his long career. The song's success was particularly remarkable because Stevens reportedly wrote it in just 45 minutes.

Originally created as the theme song for Stevens' television program, the track quickly grew into something much bigger. Its hopeful message about compassion, understanding and human connection resonated with listeners during a turbulent period in American history.

"I went down in my basement for about three days," Stevens recalled in an interview. "I had crumpled paper all over the place. And suddenly the idea for the song came to me. I wrote it in maybe 45 minutes. It was a very special song and one that a lot of people still remember and sing along when I do it in shows."

Featuring a children's choir alongside Stevens' warm vocal performance, the song stood apart from many of the rock and pop hits dominating radio at the time. The uplifting lyrics helped make it an immediate favorite with audiences across multiple generations.

Upon its release, "Everything Is Beautiful" became a massive crossover success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and also performing strongly on adult contemporary and international charts. The song ultimately remained at No. 1 for two weeks and became one of the defining hits of 1970.

Its success also earned Stevens significant industry recognition. The recording won a Grammy Awards trophy for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, marking one of the biggest achievements of his career.

Although Stevens would later become famous for novelty hits and humorous songs such as The Streak, "Everything Is Beautiful" showcased a very different side of his songwriting talent. The song's message has helped it endure long after its original chart run ended.

"There gotta be some angels out there flying around, dropping little ideas onto people from time to time, and I think I was the lucky recipient of one of those," told Voices In the Hall. "I was reading a little book of Chinese proverbs. And it had little sayings that are very logical, but presented in a way as to justify them being in a book of Chinese proverbs. And one went, 'Everything is beautiful in its own way.' And I thought, 'Well, that's a good idea.'"

In 2020, Stevens even revisited the track, recording a new version to commemorate its 50th anniversary and introduce its message to a new generation of listeners.

More than half a century after reaching No. 1, "Everything Is Beautiful" remains one of the most recognizable songs of the early 1970s, a timeless reminder that sometimes a simple message can have extraordinary staying power.

Robbie Dupree's 1980 soft rock hit "Steal Away" is being recognized for its romantic lyrics 46 years after its release.

American Songwriter recently included the song, off Dupree's self-titled record, on a list of "four soft rock songs to listen to performatively (if you’re trying to impress your crush)." According to the publication, the sweet number is ideal in the background during a romantic moment.

In a 2023 interview with Meredith Marx, Dupree, now 79, opened up about becoming a mainstream success following the release of his record, Robbie Dupree, which featured other yacht rock hits like "Hot Rod Hearts" and "Lonely Runner." Dupree recalled being "dead broke" living in Los Angeles before he embarked on making the record. He said that he was able to "finance the recordings of four or five of the songs that eventually became the album" because he was "doing pretty well," while working as a host "in a bar restaurant out in Venice, California."

Dupree said, however, that "every record company passed" on the songs he recorded, making him feel like his career as a musician was over. He then decided to move back to New York and began "loading carpets on a truck in Long Island" to make money.

However, his drummer's brother called him "a few months later" to let him know that he, "in a social setting, had played a cassette of [his] songs," catching the attention of an individual "who worked at Elektra [Records]." Dupree said he "flew to California the next week and got [a record] deal."

According to Dupree, he and his bandmates "finished the record in a hurry" and soon found success with "Steal Away." He also said he didn't expect the song to be such a hit.

"I was really quite surprised by all of it," said the musician in the 2023 interview.

The highly anticipated Baywatch reboot has an exciting announcement!  

Mary McDonnell has joined the cast. She will play Gayle, the mother of the protagonist HobieBuchannon (StephenAmell).

According to Variety, the character is “a sophisticated woman with a wryly funny presence.”

The character description states, “She cares deeply for her family and is there for them even when they’re not sure they want her help.”

“Gayle and Hobie have a long, complicated history, but no matter how much time or distance gets between them, family always seems to find its way back together. She’s learned a thing or two about second chances over the years, and she shares that wisdom with humor and grace.”

The two-time Academy Award-nominated actress is known for roles in BattlestarGalactica, Dances with Wolves, and Passion Fish.

The Baywatch remake stars two original cast members, DavidChokachi and ErikaEleniak, reprising their roles of CodyMadison and ShauniMcClain, respectively.

The series is introducing JessicaBelkin, ShayMitchell, HassieHarrison, ThaddeusLaGrone, BrooksNader, NoahBeck, LivvyDunne, and NadiaGray to the show.

The original Baywatch aired from 1989 to 2001, for a total of 11 seasons. It followed the interpersonal and professional relationships of Los Angeles lifeguards. The ensemble cast dealt with sharks, earthquakes, and even serial killers.

The remake will follow a similar storyline.

The 1989 Baywatch starred PamelaAnderson, YasmineBleeth, DavidCharvet, ErikaEleniak, and DavidHasselhoff and was created by MichaelBerk, DouglasSchwartz, and Gregory J. Bonann.

Fox is looking forward to the Baywatch premiere. The network’s President, MichaelThorn spoke about the upcoming series in a press call earlier this month.

“We’re feeling great about where we are, but also feeling the pressure of already heightened fan expectations,” Thorn said. “There’s only one Baywatch. It’s one of the most iconic, popular television franchises in TV history.”

Baywatch will be available in January 2027

The Power to the People festival will feature performances by Foo Fighters, Dave Matthews, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Baez, Dropkick Murphys, Cypress Hill, Brittany Howard, The Linda Lindas, and so many more across two stages. Billed as “a celebration of peace, justice, solidarity, music, and community action,” the event is set for Saturday, Oct. 3, at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, just a stone’s throw from Washington, D.C. 

The presale sign-up is open now, alongside a link for voter registration. In addition to performances, the day promises a host of activities, with nonprofits and community partners offering ways to get involved through civic engagement, activism, and mutual aid. According to the festival homepage, a proportion of the proceeds from tickets will be donated to pro-democracy organization VoteRiders. With midterm elections approaching in November, the timing of the festival feels especially notable. 

Morello’s festival announcement also comes as another politically adjacent music event — the Freedom 250 Concerts, an event also dubbed the Great American State Fair in celebration of the country’s 250th anniversary — is facing mounting backlash. Released yesterday, the lineup includes Martina McBride, Vanilla Ice, C+C Music Factory, Flo Rida, and Bret Michaels. However, some acts, including Morris Day and Young MC, have reportedly dropped out, citing no concerns over its political association.

School vouchers are a hotly debated topic in certain circles. Proponents argue that it allows parents and guardians to make decisions about their children's education, giving them the freedom to send their kids to schools they believe are the best fit, regardless of their zip code.

Those opposed to vouchers believe they fall short of helping children receive an education and instead create more problems than solutions. One of those problems? Abuse of the system. That's exactly what an Arizona mother was accused of when authorities say she accepted nearly $30,000 in school vouchers after moving out of state without returning the funds.

A mom in Arizona is being forced to pay $28,433 after authorities say that she accepted money from Arizona's Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) program after she had already moved to Texas, according to local NBCStation 12NEWS.

Arizona officials say that the woman had requested the money on behalf of her child, and then illegally received it while a resident of Texas, where the funds couldn't be used in accordance with the guidelines. She has since entered into a plea agreement that includes paying back the funds and a term of supervised probation.

If you no longer have a child in the public school system, you may be unfamiliar with the term. According to EdChoice, school vouchers allow parents and guardians to receive funding for their child's education, which they can use to help offset private school tuition costs.

These vouchers are typically funded by the same money that the family's home school district would usually use to pay for that child's education anyway, making it seem like a sound idea to supporters of the program.

However, the Economic Policy Institute (EPI) says voucher programs can harm public schools by diverting funds that would otherwise improve educational access. Not only that, EPI claims it can cause inequity, since some vouchers will undoubtedly go to children who have never been (and never planned to be) in public school, removing funding that would've otherwise helped improve the educational experience for students who remained in public school.

But, love them or hate them, it's clear that there's passion on both sides of the argument. That said, the case of this Arizona mother highlights how these programs can be abused, underscoring the need to monitor them more closely. And while it's never a good thing to hear about money being taken away from schools and school students, at least it looks like the funds that were taken from the Arizona ESA will end up back where it's supposed to, hopefully going to further the education of another Arizona child in the process, as it was originally intended for.

Long before the 1972 hit “Melissa” by the Allman Brothers Band became one of the Southern rock band’s most beloved songs, a young, homesick Gregg Allman penned the ode to loneliness while out on the road. With its weary lyrics, tender acoustic melody, and Allman’s soulful vocals, “Melissa” (sometimes called "Sweet Melissa") became more than a classic rock song. The quiet sadness of the song evolved into a timeless ballad about drifting through life, searching for connection or some sense of peace without it.

Many fans never realized Gregg wrote the enduring fan favorite several years before he and his brother Duane Allman formed the Allman Brothers Band with Dickey Betts (lead guitar, vocals), Berry Oakley (bass), Butch Trucks (drums), and Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (drums) in 1969.

"That was the first song I ever wrote," Gregg said during a May 2012 interview on The Howard Stern Show. "I wrote that when I was 17." He carried the song with him for years, even recording a few early demos of it with his brother Duane. At one point, Gregg sold the song rights to a producer for a little cash.

Then, on October 29, 1971, tragedy struck. Gregg's brother and the group leader Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle accident. Gregg remembered “Melissa” as one of his late brother's favorite songs, according to reporting on American Songwriter. He said, “My brother sometimes late at night after dinner, he’d say, ‘Man, go get your guitar and play me that song—that song about that girl. And I’d play it for him every now and then."

Gregg and other musicians gave an emotional performance of "Melissa" at his brother's funeral. And in this time of grief and great sorrow, the song "Melissa" made its debut and took on new meaning.

The Allman Brothers Band continued on after Duane's death, and their manager Phil Walden arranged to buy back the publishing rights for "Melissa" so they could record the song for the next album, in tribute to Duane. In August 1972, the classic rock song "Melissa" was officially released as the second single on from the group's fourth album, Eat a Peach, which dropped the February prior.

Because the 1972 version of “Melissa” was recorded during a very emotional chapter for the band and showed off the musicians' softer side, it evolved into something heavier and more reflective for fans. “Melissa” debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 the same month it was released, and shortly thereafter, peaked at No. 86, remaining on the charts for 2 weeks. 

Few classic rock ballads capture loneliness quite like “Melissa.” While at first listen, it may seem like a love song, it's much more emotionally wandering than that. Yearning lyrics like "Knowing many, loving none" and "No one hears his lonely sighs / There are no blankets where he lies" evoke an energy of longing and an aching need to find peace. No matter how far the drifter in the song travels, the discontent follows. "Again the morning's come / Again he's on the run."

More than 50 years later, fans find strange comfort in the beloved classic, and critics still praise the 1972 hit as one of the band’s defining classics. On Ranker's "75+ Allman Brothers Songs, Ranked Best To Worst By Fans," fans have upvoted the song to No. 10. At the same time, Billboard critics place the song at No. 11 on the "The 20 Greatest Allman Brothers Band Songs: Critic’s Picks." To date, the song has over 102 million streams on Spotify.

"Melissa" enjoyed renewed popularity in the 2000s when it was featured in a 2005 commercial for the Cingular cell phone company (now AT&T). The song is also used in a scene in Brokeback Mountain (2005). And in the film House of D (2005), the Allman Brothers Band track is played at a dance, and Erykah Badu performs her own beautiful rendition in a separate scene.

Paul McCartney, 83, is one of the most revered music icons of all time, but his second post-Beatles release, Ram, was initially met with mixed critical reviews. More than five decades later, Ram is now being celebrated as one of McCartney’s greatest achievements.

The album’s critical transformation didn’t happen overnight. Once considered whimsical and uneven, Ram is now widely regarded as one of the music legend’s strongest post-Beatles works. McCartney’s only credited collaboration with wife Linda McCartney, Ram is receiving renewed praise, further cementing the album as one of his most inventive and influential releases outside The Beatles.

In a May 2026 ranking, Mojo magazine named Ram Paul McCartney’s No. 1 post-Beatles album.

“Recorded in New York and mixed in Los Angeles,” Mojo wrote, “Ram was far from the super-smooth album that the public possibly expected in the wake of the handmade McCartney. Instead, Paul carried over some of that initial experiment’s looseness while developing a more episodic songwriting style.”

The publication cited the album’s overt Beach Boys influences and “cartoonish pop,” describing the overall effect as “that of an artist at play in a cloud of childlike wonder.”

Besting McCartney’s 1973 release Band on the Run and his 2005 album Chaos and Creation in the Backyard, Mojo’s recent ranking further solidifies Ram as one of McCartney’s defining solo works.

Though Ram is now widely considered one of the entertainer’s best post-Beatles projects, the initial critical response was far more divided. In light of the more serious work being recorded by George Harrison and John Lennon, Ram was seen by some critics as frivolous and inconsistent.

The album’s blend of home-recorded experimentation and melodic songwriting caused some critics to dismiss the album as lightweight. Despite the criticism, the album was still a commercial success, reaching No. 1 in the U.K. and No. 2 in the United States.

With the benefit of hindsight, critical opinion has shifted dramatically. Today, Ram is frequently celebrated as one of McCartney’s most inventive solo projects and is often credited with influencing later indie and alternative pop artists.

Ram includes several standout tracks that helped the album earn its reputation as one of McCartney’s best. Fan favorites include "Too Many People," "Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey," "Dear Boy" and "The Back Seat of My Car."

Fans of Takis may soon have an entirely new way to pour that signature Fuego flavor onto basically everything they eat. According to a new viral Instagram post, the snack brand appears to be launching its first-ever Fuego Hot Sauce, and the reaction online has already been heating up.

The rumored sauce showed up in a recent social media post from influencer Makie_Devo, featuring a small bottle wrapped in the unmistakable purple-and-black Fuego branding. The label promises the same hot chili-pepper-and-lime flavor that helped make Fuego Takis' most recognizable variety. The post also claims the sauce could be arriving in early June, though Takis has not officially confirmed a launch date yet.

Even without a formal announcement, fans already seem fully ready to stock their kitchens with it.

While Takis built its reputation on rolled tortilla chips, the brand has spent the last few years aggressively branching into new snack categories and collaborations. The company has launched everything from popcorn and peanuts to kettle chips and potato crisps, all built around its signature flavor profiles.

And recently, the brand has been moving even deeper into crossover products and flavor extensions. The brand also teamed up with Wendy's last year for the limited-time Takis Fuego Meal, which included Takis-inspired fries and a spicy chicken sandwich topped with crushed Fuego chips and chili lime sauce.

Much of the early buzz has centered around how people want to use the sauce once it officially lands. In the comments section, fans tossed out ideas ranging from tacos and wings to pizza, fries, eggs, ramen, and even more Takis.

Part of the excitement comes from the fact that Fuego has become more than just a chip flavor. Since debuting in 2006, the chili-lime seasoning has become the brand's defining identity, and now fans can look for ways to bring those flavors into full meals rather than just eating them straight from the bag.

According to a new report from Food Network, Takis Fuego Hot Sauce will first hit Family Dollar stores in a five-ounce bottle beginning June 8. The sauce is then expected to arrive on Walmart's website later in June.

That lines up with the details circulating on social media over the past several days, in which snack accounts and food news pages have been sharing leaked images of the bottle.

The launch would mark Takis' first official move into bottled hot sauce, expanding the brand beyond rolled tortilla chips into the growing snack-inspired condiment category. Takis has already branched into a variety of different snack food categories, all built around its signature Fuego flavor profile, and now that flavor can be added to eggs, cheeses, meats and, of course, corn chips.

Until Takis officially confirms the launch, the Fuego Hot Sauce is still technically in rumor territory. But based on the reaction online, people already seem prepared to clear a little space between their Franks Red Hot and Cholula bottles.

Based on the best-selling series by Elle Kennedy, Off Campus is the newest smash hit, hockey romance to come to the small screen. The streaming series hit Amazon in mid-May and quickly rose in popular before becoming the number one show on the platform, and the third most-watched debut series for the streamer of all time.

The college soap opera style drama follows the collegiate players of an elite hockey team, and the romantic relationships in their lives. The couples deal with love, heartbreak, and self-discovery while making long-lasting friendships and bonds while simultaneously navigating the nuances and situations that come with transitioning into adulthood.

The first season of the show focused on Hannah Wells, a music major at the fictional Briar University, and Garrett Graham, the captain of the Briar University hockey team. The pair meet and enter a "fake dating" situation while becomes complicated when they develop real feelings for each other.

In an interview with Variety, series creator and show-runner Louisa Levy confirmed that the next season of the hit series will focus on the characters Allie and Dean, played by Mika Abdalla and Stephen Kalyn. Levy also confirmed the second season's eight episodes are all fully written and promised, "We have a very exciting plan for the season. I don’t want to say anything yet — but I think book fans will be very excited."

The character of Allie Hayes has been introduced as Hannah's roommate and best friend, while Dean is a friend and teammate of Garrett's and defenseman for the Briar Hawks. In the books, their story takes place in The Score, where the couple engage in a brief hookup after Allie is faced with an unexpected breakup.

While the couple has been announced there is no official timeline for the second season of Off Campus as of yet.

Dominic Russo’s oldest sister is calling out Mackenzie Shirilla for the way she is behaving in prison.

Shirilla's case gained attention after Netflix released The Crash, which is a true crime documentary about a car crash she was responsible for that killed two of her classmates. And with that, it has led to increased attention for Shirilla.

“She's just on her high horse in prison,”Christine Russo told PEOPLE. "She's in prison and is very much acting like a princess and like she's famous.”

“Becoming famous is all Mackenzie has cared about for a very long time," she added. "After she killed my brother and Davion, within hours she was making TikToks of herself and trying to get modeling gigs.”

Christine's brother, Dominic, was dating Shirilla and was one of the two victims, along with their friend, Davion Flanagan, who passed away after Shirilla drove her car into a brick wall, going nearly 100 mph. Following the accident, Shirilla was convicted of double murder and was sentenced to two concurrent terms of 15 years to life with eligibility for parole in 2037.

Christine said that Shirilla has "shown no remorse. She is a typical narcissist."

This is not the first time Shirilla has been accused of acting different inside the prison, with Mary Katherine Crowder, a former inmate who served time at the Ohio Reformatory for Women, saying that he "jaw literally dropped" when she saw the Netflix documentary.

"Her demeanor and the way that she looked was nothing like the person I was in there with," Crowder explained, going on to call her the  “Regina George of prison.”

When I was in there with her, you’d look at her and she had her makeup done every day, she was very well put together — almost like preppy," she added. "This character in the documentary is nothing like who I saw in there at all, and it was shocking."

If you were born after 1960, you now have to wait until age 67 to receive your full Social Security benefits, but you can still take them early at age 62 for a smaller monthly benefit. If you do decide to claim benefits early, you may be surprised to see your monthly income dip once you hit 65.

Taking your benefits early does not automatically enroll you in Medicare. However, it triggers automatic enrollment in Medicare Parts A and B the moment you turn 65, which is exactly why that premium deduction will catch your monthly budget by surprise. While Medicare Part A has no cost if you worked at least 10 years, Medicare Part B does have a monthly fee.

The total you’ll pay is based on a few key factors, like your income and the plan you choose, but it is a fee that will be deducted from your checks, reducing your overall take-home pay. Seniors on a fixed budget may not be able to afford this reduction, but if that applies to you there are some options.

To avoid losing this extra money, you can opt out of Medicare Part B. The Motley Fool suggests using your employer-provided healthcare to save money if you’re still working. You’ll receive more from your monthly benefits, and you can always enroll later when your employment ends. 

People who opt out or defer may face penalties, though, so make sure to discuss your personal circumstances to understand the ramifications later. Typically, if you opt out of Part B because you still have coverage, you’ll likely receive a special enrollment period without penalties when it ends, but check just to make sure.

If you aren’t still employed, you may be able to choose a group plan option for a lower fee than Medicare Part B through your spouse. "Generally, you won’t have to pay a Part B penalty if you qualify for a Special Enrollment Period, or you enroll in a Medicare Savings Program," says Medicare.gov. "You’ll pay an extra 10% for each year you could have signed up for Part B, but didn’t. You may also pay a higher premium depending on your income."

One thing you don’t want to do is avoid health insurance altogether. One medical emergency is enough to bankrupt most people, so if Part B is your only option, then it’s better to take the reduction in your check rather than go without.

Three-time Grammy winner and Tony Award-winning performer Dee Dee Bridgewater has turned 76, continuing a music career that has lasted for more than five decades across jazz, funk, R&B, theater and global music.

Born Denise Eileen Garrett on May 27, 1950, in Memphis, Tennessee, Bridgewater remains one of the most respected voices in jazz history. The legendary singer, actress, producer and humanitarian is still actively touring in 2026 while mentoring young musicians and releasing new music projects.

Bridgewater first became known during the 1970s after joining the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis Jazz Orchestra as lead vocalist. Her breakthrough came at a time when jazz, funk, soul and R&B were shaping popular music around the world. She later performed alongside major jazz artists including Dizzy Gillespie, Sonny Rollins, Max Roach, Dexter Gordon and Horace Silver.

Her debut solo album, Afro Blue, arrived in 1974 and helped establish her as a rising voice in jazz and funk-influenced music. A year later, Bridgewater earned a Tony Award for playing Glinda the Good Witch in Broadway’s The Wiz. The production later won a Grammy Award for Best Musical Show Album.

Today, Bridgewater is still performing internationally and remains deeply involved in music education and advocacy.

Bridgewater has won three Grammy Awards throughout her career, including honors for her celebrated albums Dear Ella and Eleanora Fagan (1915–1959): To Billie with Love from Dee Dee Bridgewater. Her work often blends jazz with soul, blues, funk, African music, and theatrical performance.

In 2025, she released Elemental with pianist Bill Charlap. The album later earned a Grammy nomination for Best Jazz Vocal Album. The project included the single “Honeysuckle Rose” and marked another chapter in her long-running recording career.

Even after decades in music, Bridgewater said she still feels driven to use her voice for social issues.

In a 2025 interview with The Guardian, Bridgewater said, “I just don’t feel like it’s the time to be doing love songs and whimsical songs from the 1920s and 30s.”

She added, “People, we have to protect our democracy.”

The singer also spoke openly about activism, racism and the importance of protest music in today’s world.

“I cannot just sit back and be silent. I have to raise my voice,” Bridgewater said.

Her current performances include songs tied to social justice themes, including works associated with Nina Simone, Donny Hathaway and Bob Dylan.

Bridgewater also continues leading her all-female band, We Exist!, which she founded to support women in jazz.

Beyond performing, Bridgewater has spent years mentoring younger artists through The Woodshed Network, a program she launched in 2019 to support women and non-binary musicians in the jazz industry.

The mentorship project was created with her daughter and manager, Tulani Bridgewater-Kowalski, and focuses on career development, networking and professional guidance.

Bridgewater has also served as a United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization Goodwill Ambassador, using her platform to support projects focused on ending world hunger and helping vulnerable communities.

Over the years, she has received many honors outside the Grammy Awards, including the NEA Jazz Masters Award, the Doris Duke Artist Award and induction into the Memphis Music Hall of Fame.

In April 2025, France awarded her the Officier dans l’ordre de la Légion d’Honneur, recognizing her global cultural contributions.

Bridgewater has spent much of her adult life in Paris while maintaining strong ties to the United States and the international jazz community.

Fans of classic '90s movies just got a rare glimpse of one of Hollywood’s most beloved stars.

Actress Joan Cusack made her first red carpet appearance in more than a decade on Thursday, May 28, stepping out for the London premiere of Toy Story 5. According to reports, the event marked the 63-year-old actress’s first official carpet appearance since September 2015.

Cusack wore a white button-down shirt paired with a long black skirt as she posed alongside cast and crew members from the highly anticipated Pixar sequel. She was also joined by her husband, Richard Burke, marking a rare public outing for the longtime couple.

Cusack returns to one of her most iconic roles as Jessie, the spirited cowgirl toy she first voiced in 1999’s Toy Story 2. The upcoming film reunites her with returning stars Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, while also featuring returning fan favorites from the franchise. The company is being sued after some investors claim they were deceived into investing after it published quarterly financial results stating the midpoint revenue guidance would be $1.325 billion, which was below the expected $1.34 billion.

This caused stock prices to drop 21.8 percent on Nov. 5, 2025. Then, the Business Wire report claims that additional company announcements, including a "global restructuring plan," led to another 9.6 percent drop in stock prices, hurting investors.

While Hollywood has made a show of giving some people a massive payday when they enter a class-action lawsuit—like in the movie Erin Brockovich, which was based on a real-life case—most payouts are relatively low. For example, I was once awarded a few dollars in a case against my financial institution.

However, some cases do cause a big stir, requiring companies to shell out significant sums to make things right. In addition to Enron's billion-dollar settlement, the following companies have also been forced to shell out billions, according to the Miller Shah Attorneys at Law blog:

Joshua Morrow is opening up about his character, NickNewman, surviving an overdose on The Young and the Restless. 

In an interview with TV Insider, Morrow revealed his thoughts on the storyline involving Nick developing an addiction to pain medication after a car crash.

“I was like, ‘I don’t know that it’s very Nick-ish, but let’s give it a whirl,’” he said.

Morrow joined The Young and the Restless in 1994, and after three decades on the show, he wanted to make sure audiences would not be hurt by this arc.

“I was a little nervous about it. I hadn’t been nervous about anything since high school, but I was concerned about how the fans would take it,” the actor shared. “They don’t want to see their hero fall in the way that he did, but I just ask that they take the story for what it is and enjoy the journey because from an acting standpoint, it’s been really difficult work to do, but I’ve enjoyed it, that’s for sure.”

Morrow’s character faced pressure as he was forced to confront his enemy, MattClark (RogerHowarth), and couldn’t control his fentanyl use.

“Nick has always been loose and confident and had a carefree attitude about a lot of things,” Morrow said. “He took some drugs to calm his nerves and to prepare for the moment, but he was not in a healthy state of mind to deal with something as dramatic as this. He just kept going further and further down this hole, and it all came to a head.”

Nick’s addition has been a challenge for Morrow.

“Most of the time, I come in here and do this job with my eyes closed because I don’t feel like there’s much of a stretch anymore between Nick and Joshua,” he admits. “But this is a completely different arena now and work that I’ve never really had to do, so it’s been very hard. I don’t want to make light of it. If you’ve ever Google-searched fentanyl, it’s terrifying to see what it actually does to people. That’s not quite the version that we can show on television, so I just want to be as respectful as possible and do as authentic a job as I can.”
