While iconic singer-songwriter Jimmy Webb wrote some of the biggest hits of all time, he wasn’t usually the one who sang them: “Wichita Lineman,” “By the Time I Get to Phoenix” and “Galveston” were all performed by Glenn Campbell, “Up, Up and Away” was a major success for the 5th Dimension, and “MacArthur Park” was sung by Richard Harris, then Donna Summer (just to name a few).

Over the years, however, Webb wrote plenty of other amazing songs that didn’t end up getting recorded by other artists, for a variety of reasons, and now he’s putting the best of them on a new album, Yours For the Taking: The Found Songs of Jimmy Webb, scheduled for release on Oct. 23. Luckily, though, fans don’t have to wait until the fall to hear the first single: “Winter Clothes,” originally pitched to Frank Sinatra, is out today, Aug. 14.

As Webb told Billboard, the new album includes songs that have been “pretty much overlooked or unrecorded, neglected in a way, music that my wife [album executive producer Laura Savini Webb] and some of the younger people around me really inspired me to go back and finish.”

“And my children say, ‘Y’know, dad, you wrote this. This is great. This could’ve been a hit,'” Webb continued.

“So the basis of this album is rebirth, recycling that youthful energy and not letting (the songs) just molder away in the attic but to go back and flip those pancakes again and see what we can come up with. It’s very invigorating. Very inspiring…Just ’cause I’m 80 doesn’t mean I’ve lost that fire, y’know? I may be 80 on the outside, but I’m always 18 on the inside.”

Like many of the other recently revived tunes, “Winter Clothes” — which features a guest appearance from Graham Nash — was supposed to be performed by a big star (in this case, Sinatra).

“Mr. Sinatra thought he might record it, but he thought I needed to work on it,” Webb explained. “When Mr. Sinatra says, ‘Y’know, kid, this is pretty good, but I think it needs some work,’ you listen to him. He was telling me some really important stuff. I never really took that song back to him, but I never gave up on the idea. I thought it was a pretty good song, so when we decided to do this (album), it felt like it was time to bring it back out.”

Sinatra’s loss has turned into a win for Webb fans, with commenters on an official Instagram post about “Winter Clothes” already praising the track: “I just listened…and wept. A wonderful song, and a beautiful vocal,” wrote one person, with another calling it “an incredible testament to lifelong creativity.”

Another song on the album, “Farther Than Eyes Can See,” was offered to Barbra Streisand (more than once).

“I submitted it to her for 20 years, four times,” Webb said. “I would disguise it, I would put it in different (musical) costumes and run it by her again and think that by now she’ll have forgotten that she heard this before, and this time she’s gonna love it. She never loved it.”

As far as Webb is concerned, the material on Yours For the Taking: The Found Songs of Jimmy Webb should have been released long ago.

“Some of them I would go, ‘I don’t know why the world is blind to this, but right now they’re invisible. The evil witch of the North has obscured it with some sort of cloaking device or something,'” Webb admitted. “I know some of these songs were hits because I was writing hits. What I have here is quite a lot of songs that I thought were hits, but other people…didn’t hear what I heard. I know I sound very strong about this, but I am 80 years old and I do know what makes a hit, what the ingredients are…although in the context of today, I have no idea what a hit is. I can’t begin to tell you. But in those days I knew.”

Webb is planning on taking the new songs (and his old favorites, of course) out on the road this November.

“People say to me, ‘Why are you still doing this?’ and I have to say because I love it,” Webb explained. “I love the feeling of singing one of my own songs. I think — I hope this isn’t just my ego, but I do think that I have something to offer in my performances. I don’t really know what my demographic is…but it’s great that they’re still there and I’m still here. I just try to raise the level of encouragement and enjoyment of life we find at this age.”

Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones just shared the sweetest photo with their lookalike children.

Michael, 81, has a lengthy film resume that includes movies ranging from Wall Street and Basic Instinct to Traffic and Wonder Boys. Married to Chicago star Zeta-Jones, 56, since 2000, the duo have two children together, Dylan and Carys. And in a new photo, the couple’s children look exactly like their movie-star mother.

Carys Douglas Recently Turned 23

In a sweet birthday post honoring Carys, who turned 23 back in April, Douglas spoke candidly about his love for his daughter.

“Happy Birthday Carys! May YOUR new year bring you joy and inspiration. All the love in the world! @carys.douglas ♥️ Dad,” Douglas captioned the photo, which showed the actor standing alongside his daughter on the red carpet.

Carys Douglas graduated from Brown University’s Watson School of International and Public Affairs in 2025.

Since graduating, the rising starlet has been getting to work in the family business. At the 2025 PAC NYC Icons of Culture Gala in October, Douglas told PEOPLE she is excited to delve more into the performing arts following her graduation from college.

“I grew up doing theater, and I didn’t study acting in school, but that’s why I’m happy to be in such an informative arts space, so hopefully more of that,” she explained.

Disney is offering fans plenty of intriguing looks at some of the parks’ most exciting upcoming attractions, including the highly anticipated new land set to open in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in the very near future.

In particular, according to the Disney-centric Disney Food Blog, Disney is sharing an in-depth look at the upcoming Cars-themed land arriving at Disney’s flagship Florida theme park.

Inspired by the beloved Pixar franchise and U.S. national parks, the new Piston Peak National Park will act as Disney’s largest park expansion in Magic Kingdom, featuring a myriad of rides tailored to the whole family.

Showing off a scale model of the land at the D23 conference in Anaheim, Disney’s Piston Peak National Park will feature two large attractions built into a rugged, mountainous terrain reminiscent of Colorado’s Rocky Mountains.

As seen in the model, one attraction will act as a rally race-inspired track ride that takes visitors into the heart of Piston Peak. The second, previously unconfirmed attraction appears to be geared more towards younger riders, similar to Disneyland’s Luigi’s Rollickin’ Roadsters.

If the model is any indication, the Piston Peak National Park will certainly serve as a thrilling area for longtime fans of both Disney’s theme parks and the Cars franchise, with plenty of recognizable faces (or should we say car hoods?) scattered throughout the area.

As of yet, it’s not clear when exactly Piston Peak will open at Magic Kingdom. Previously, the company confirmed the area’s development in 2024 at the D23 event. One year later, Disney permanently closed the classic Disney attractions Tom Sawyer Island and Rivers of America to help make room for the coming area.

Along with Piston Peak, the Magic Kingdom is also set to add a new Villain’s Land to the park as well. Similarly, there’s no clear date in mind for when said land will open.

It looks like everyone’s favorite alien-fighting, spandex-wearing superheroes are no match against Percy Jackson and the Olympians.

In 2025, Disney+ announced a live-action TV series reboot of Hasbro’s Power Rangers, written and produced by Jonathan E. Steinberg and Dan Shotz — the team behind Percy Jackson. Their goal was to “reinvent the franchise for a new generation of fans,” The Wrap wrote, bringing new life to the heroes while still honoring the original story. However, Deadline announced today that the series will not be moving past development.

The reboot was rumored to have 8 to 10 episodes, with Peyton Elizabeth Lee in talks to take on the role of a female Red Ranger. Production was predicted to begin this year in London.

“According to sources, the reasons for the pass are not so much creative than they are business- (aka budget-) related,” Deadline reported. “Mounting a high-end, live-action superhero series of the caliber of Power Rangers is a major investment, the economics of which are not as favorable when the streamer and/or the producing studio do not own the IP, which is the case here.”

The article continued, explaining how Disney+ has been opening up its slate to outside IP, including Ella Enchanted and Casper, which are now available to watch on the streaming platform.

Prior to Hasbro’s collaboration with Disney+, Netflix was the primary streaming home for the Power Rangers, with the 2017 movie available to watch on the platform. However, the film was removed from Netflix in March, with fans now having difficulty accessing it on other streaming platforms.

As the Power Rangers’ future remains in question, Steinberg and Shotz are still on track to release season 3 of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on Nov. 20. The official trailer debuted at Comic-Con last month.

The franchise, which initially premiered on Fox Kids on Aug. 28, 1993, with Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, became a pop culture phenomenon throughout the decade. 

There are food holidays, and then there are food holidays that feel almost constitutionally required in certain parts of the country. In Wisconsin, National Bratwurst Day most definitely falls into the latter category.

Bratwurst isn’t simply something we throw on the grill here. It’s woven into the fabric of the state’s food culture, thanks largely to the German immigrants who arrived in Wisconsin in the 19th century and brought their sausage-making (and beer brewing) traditions with them. Today, the state is home to some of the country’s best-known brat makers, including Johnsonville, Klement’s and Usinger’s. The city of Sheboygan even proudly carries the moniker “The Official Bratwurst Capital of the World,” a title that should tell you just how seriously Wisconsinites take their sausages.

The obsession isn’t exactly new, either. Sheboygan held its first Bratwurst Day back in 1953 as part of the city’s centennial celebration. According to the event’s history, an estimated 7,000 pounds of bratwurst were consumed that day, along with 350 pounds of onions and 96 gallons of pickles. Clearly, residents there have been training for this holiday for a while.

Fortunately, you don’t need to live within sharing distance of a Wisconsin tailgate to celebrate. National Bratwurst Day is Sunday, Aug. 16, and restaurants, sausage makers and grocery stores around the country are getting in on the action with everything from discounted brats and free beer to a two-foot-long sausage served with two pounds of fries.

Whether you’re looking for someone else to do the grilling or simply want to stock the fridge and celebrate at home, these are the National Bratwurst Day deals worth knowing about in 2026.

When Is National Bratwurst Day 2026?

National Bratwurst Day is celebrated annually on Aug. 16, which falls on a Sunday in 2026.

While Sheboygan’s original Bratwurst Day dates back to 1953, the modern national observance didn’t arrive until much later. National Day Calendar credits the Wisconsin Pork Producers Association with establishing National Bratwurst Day in 2005.

Johnsonville has since leaned into the celebration in a very Wisconsin way, dubbing the occasion “Bratsgiving.” The Sheboygan Falls-based sausage maker introduced the Bratsgiving name in 2014 as a reason to gather around the grill and, presumably, give thanks for a food that requires considerably less effort than roasting a turkey, but is arguably just as communal.

The Best National Bratwurst Day Deals and Freebies

This year’s German sausage deals are mostly regional, but there are definitely some you don’t want to miss—including a free beer and a brat so large that ordering one should probably require signing a waiver.

Hofbräuhaus Las Vegas is celebrating National Bratwurst Day with its aptly named Gigantische Bratwurst, a 16-ounce, two-foot-long cheese-filled sausage tucked into a baguette and served with green cabbage-bacon salad and a whopping two pounds of French fries. Oh, and don’t forget the curry sauce.

The Best Bratwurst Toppings to Celebrate at Home

Of course, selecting the brat is only half the battle. What you put on it can turn National Bratwurst Day into something considerably more interesting than another Sunday cookout.

For a classic approach, it’s hard to go wrong with spicy brown or Düsseldorf mustard, sauerkraut and grilled onions. Pickles add acidity and crunch, while beer cheese makes an already indulgent brat even more Wisconsin.

If you’re feeding a crowd, skip trying to guess everyone’s preferences and set up a brat bar instead. Put out a few mustards, sauerkraut, grilled onions, pickles, jalapeños, cheese sauce and even curry ketchup, then let everyone build their own.

Just be warned: If you’re serving brats in Wisconsin, ketchup can become a surprisingly controversial topping. Maybe keep that bottle at the far end of the table.

A month has passed since Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce during a private ceremony at Madison Square Garden, and Swifties are just as obsessed as ever with the pop icon.

While Kelce is away at NFL training camp to prepare for football season, Swift was spotted by Entertainment Tonight in London. Swift’s appearance in London comes only a day after Kelce made his first comments about the Madison Square Garden wedding, saying it was the “best night of [his] life.”

“Wedding was the best night of my life, and I appreciate everybody who came out and celebrated and had fun with us,” Kelce said. “That’s about all I really got from that night. It was a crazy night. It was full of a lot of celebration.”

He continued, saying that the venue was significant to both him and Swift.

“You know, I always told myself I’d go [to MSG] for a playoff game when the Knicks were rocking, and my wife went when I was stuck in training minicamp, so I didn’t get my opportunity to go then,” Kelce said. “So it’s kind of cool to be able to live out my childhood dream of being in that venue — you know, the Mecca of all sports venues. What is Katie Holmes Up to These Days?

Last summer, Holmes reunited with her Dawson’s Creek costar Joshua Jackson for Happy Hours, which she wrote, starred in, and directed. On Aug. 11, Christy Knowings, who starred in the ‘90s Nickelodeon series All That, died at the age of 46 after being taken off life support.

TMZ reportedly learned from a family member that Knowings was placed on life support after suffering an asthma attack on Aug. 7 that left her with brain damage. They said that she remained on life support through Tuesday, when her family decided to take her off it.

Kenan Thompson, Knowings’ All That co-star, took to social media to pay tribute to the actress.

“Man this one hit hard,” Thompson wrote in an Instagram caption. “Rest well Christy!!! Never could have imagined this day!! Sending so much love to her family!! She was a real one and one of the funniest people out here!!! Gonna miss you buddy!!! Show Christy Knowings some love y’all!”

Fans commented on the post, also paying their respects to Knowings.

“I’m so shocked she was literally one of my favorite characters in All That,” one user commented.

“I just now read the news,” another said. “I’m so sorry to hear about this. Sending prayers to all of you. Rest in peace Christy.”

“My brother and I looked forward to All That every Saturday night and loved everyone,” one fan said. “So sad and gone far too soon.”

Knowings first appeared on Nickelodeon in 1997 on And Now This!, a sketch-comedy special hosted by Rosie O’Donnell. After that appearance, she became a regular cast member on All That for three seasons. She also appeared in episodes of Sesame Street alongside her twin brother Chris, best known for his role as Nate in the 1994 film Crooklyn.

Knowings is the second All That cast member who has died this year. Kianna Underwood, who appeared on the show in 2005, died at the age of 33 in a hit-and-run collision.

It was disappointing when ABC canceled its Match Game revival before the pandemic, so when it returned in 2025 with Martin Short as the host, there was a lot of chatter and excitement. Then silence!

ABC announced its fall 2026 schedule, and Match Game was nowhere to be found. It led to concerns that one of the best game shows on the network had been canceled, but fear not! Matt Webb Mitvoch got word from the network, and there’s some hopeful news.

‘Match Game’ Just Doesn’t Have a Spot on the Schedule Yet

A reader of Mitvoch’s Inside Line reached out with concerns that Match Game had been canceled. They noted how charming Short was as a host and hoped that it wasn’t yet another cancellation by the network. While ABC didn’t cancel much from the 2025–2026 schedule, there were always fears that not everything would make it through.

However, Mitvoch shared that while Match Game wasn’t on the fall schedule, it wasn’t all bad news. The alphabet network just didn’t have a space, but there are plans to bring it back in the future. At least, that’s the consensus reading between the lines. If there was bad news to share, Mitvoch would have mentioned it.

He specifically stated: “I am assured that Match Game, which last aired in September, has ‘definitely not’ been cancelled; ABC simply has not been able to get it back on the schedule just yet.”

What Is ‘Match Game’ on ABC?

The series is a revival of the 1960s NBC game show. After cancellation on that network, it moved to CBS, where it faced some significant changes in the 1970s, but it didn’t remain there forever. After it was canceled in 1982, it moved back to NBC, and then in 1990 it ran on ABC during the daytime.

It was only in 2016 that it returned to a primetime slot, with Alec Baldwin hosting the show. However, it was canceled in 2019; the networks changed up their programming considerably the following season when the world shut down due to the pandemic, and it led to Match Game being canceled until 2025, when ABC brought it back.

It became part of the summer programming in 2025, running from July to September. While there hasn’t been an official renewal, it is happening. Of course, with Short as the host, filming is dictated by his Only Murders in the Building schedule, which is currently filming Season 6 in London, UK.

Instagram just got its first logo refresh in over a decade — but users are already roasting it online.

On Thursday, Meta unveiled Instagram’s updated wordmark, with Instagram head Adam Mosseri describing the redesign as “cleaner and more modern” while paying tribute to the app’s original branding. The familiar multicolored camera icon isn’t changing, but the lettering at the top of the app has been completely refreshed.

“The wordmark at the top of the app hasn’t changed in 10 years, so it was time for a refresh,” Mosseri wrote while announcing the update on Instagram on Thursday, August 13.

It didn’t take long for users to weigh in.

Many commenters joked that the redesigned lettering is difficult to read, with several saying the new logo looks less like “Instagram” and more like “Instagzam,” “Instagwam” or even “Instaguam.”

One quipped, “Instagwam—how a toddler would pronounce it.” Others questioned whether the redesigned logo was as readable as its predecessor.

“The youth can’t read cursive,” joked one, “so I approve of the sly dig.”

Social media consultant Matt Navarra offered a more positive take, writing on X that while “design peeps are going to have a fun day tearing it apart,” he found the redesign “fresh, modern” and faithful to Instagram’s original identity.

Not all of the criticism focused on the logo itself.

Some users used Mosseri’s announcement to voice frustration over broader issues on the platform, including bots, AI-generated content and concerns over algorithmic changes limiting what followers can see.

Whether the new logo grows on users or not, one thing is already clear: Instagram’s redesign has everyone talking.

After being more-or-less ignored for decades, the scalp is finally getting the attention it deserves from the beauty industry. Beauty brands have gotten the memo that a healthy scalp is the base for healthy, beautiful hair, and now there are lots of products to help improve scalp health. But, the scalp is far more complex than most people realize.

It’s made up of five layers of tissue, contains around 100,000 hair follicles and produces sebum through the sebaceous glands in each of those follicles to condition both the hair and the surrounding skin.

A healthy scalp, according to experts, should have no redness, irritation, tenderness, odor or visible buildup. When any of those signs appear, it’s a signal that something is off—and often, the culprit is buildup that regular shampooing doesn’t clear.

That’s where scalp exfoliators come in. “Just like the face, the scalp accumulates dead skin cells, excess oil, sweat, pollution and styling product residue over time,” says Caroline Hall, trichologist and founder of R&R Aesthetics. “Scalp exfoliation helps lift away this build-up, creating a healthier environment for the hair follicles.”

Scalp exfoliators and shampoo are not the same. “Shampoo is designed to cleanse away surface dirt, oil and product residue, whereas a scalp exfoliator is designed to remove the build-up that can cling more stubbornly to the scalp,” Hall tells Parade. “Think of it as the difference between washing your face and occasionally exfoliating it. Both have a role, but they do different jobs.”

To find out which exfoliators are worth trying—and who actually needs them—we asked Hall, trichologist William Gaunitz, founder of Advanced Trichology and Vanessa Ocando, celebrity hairstylist and certified trichologist.

Physical vs. Chemical Scalp Exfoliators: What’s the Difference?

Physical exfoliators contain fine particles that manually lift away dead skin and debris. Chemical exfoliators use ingredients like salicylic acid or fruit acids to dissolve excess oil and loosen dead skin cells. All three trichologists prefer chemical exfoliants as the safer, more consistent option.

“I typically prefer chemical exfoliants because they’re more consistent, less likely to create microtrauma and, generally, when used correctly, better tolerated,” Gaunitz says.

“Physical scrubs can still be useful but should always be used gently,” Hall says. Gaunitz warns caution for anyone with an inflamed, sensitive or thinning scalp: “Aggressive scrubbing can actually worsen irritation.”

What Ingredients Should You Look for in a Scalp Exfoliator?

All three experts point to the same core ingredients. Salicylic acid is good for oily or flaky scalps “because it’s oil-soluble, it penetrates into the hair follicles where excess sebum accumulates,” Gaunitz explains. For sensitive scalps, Hall recommends polyhydroxy acids (PHAs) or enzyme exfoliants as gentler alternatives.

Ocando likes copper peptides for barrier repair and probiotics for scalp microbiome support.

Other ingredients worth looking for: lactic acid for gentle exfoliation, niacinamide and panthenol to support the scalp barrier, urea to soften thick scaling and allantoin to minimize irritation.

What to avoid: large abrasive scrubbing particles, heavy fragrance or essential oils on a sensitive scalp and harsh alcohols that can increase irritation.

Who Actually Needs To Exfoliate Their Scalp?

Both trichologists stress that not everyone needs to do this. “If your scalp is completely healthy, I would say that you never have to exfoliate your scalp,” says Gaunitz.

Hall agrees: “If you have a healthy scalp with no concerns, exfoliation isn’t necessarily an essential step.”

The people who benefit most are those with oily scalps, people who use a lot of hair products like dry shampoo and anyone experiencing flaking, mild scalp congestion or buildup.

“It can also be helpful for those with finer hair, as removing excess build-up can leave the hair looking fresher and with more volume,” Hall adds.

For anyone with eczema, psoriasis or an actively inflamed scalp condition, both experts recommend seeking professional advice before introducing any exfoliating product.

Can scalp exfoliation help with dandruff and itching?

Yes—but only when done correctly. “For dandruff and seborrheic dermatitis, scalp exfoliation can help remove excess scale, reduce oil buildup,and improve penetration of medicated shampoos or topical treatments,” Gaunitz says.

He also flags a growing TikTok trend he’s concerned about: “I see reels where people are manually removing scale from seborrheic dermatitis, and that causes bleeding and trauma to the scalp.”

“If the scalp is very inflamed, sore or actively flaring, aggressive exfoliation may make symptoms worse,” Hall warns. “Treating the underlying condition should always come first.”

Does scalp exfoliation help with hair growth?

“The evidence suggests that scalp exfoliation doesn’t directly stimulate hair growth in the way treatments such as minoxidil or prescription medications can,” Hall says.

“However, maintaining a healthy scalp environment may support healthier hair over time by reducing inflammation, removing excess build-up and allowing follicles to function optimally. It’s best viewed as a way of improving scalp health rather than as a standalone treatment for hair loss,” she tells Parade.

How To Apply a Scalp Exfoliator Correctly

“Always apply the product directly to the scalp rather than the hair lengths, using gentle pressure rather than vigorous scrubbing,” Hall advises. “Allow chemical exfoliants to sit for the recommended time before rinsing thoroughly and following with shampoo if directed. If using a physical scrub, gentle massage is all that’s needed. Scrubbing aggressively won’t improve the results and may simply irritate the skin.”

How Often Should You Exfoliate Your Scalp?

For most people, once every one to two weeks is enough. “Those with very oily scalps may benefit from weekly exfoliation, while people with dry or sensitive scalps may only need it once a month or even less frequently,” Hall says. “More isn’t necessarily better, as over-exfoliating can disrupt the scalp barrier and lead to irritation.”

According to Ocando, it depends on the scrub. “Some are designed for deeper resets when congestion builds up, while others are gentle enough for daily use without disrupting the scalp barrier,” she says.

Gaunitz adds that frequency for those with dandruff or seborrheic dermatitis “depends on symptom severity and should be coordinated with an appropriate treatment plan.”

Can you over-exfoliate your scalp?

“The scalp has a protective skin barrier just like the face,” Gaunitz says. “When that barrier is disrupted, people often experience increased redness, burning, stinging and itching, more flaking, increased oil production, sensitivity to shampoos and topicals, a disruption to the scalp microbiome, and in extreme cases, hair loss.”

Because she specializes in long-term scalp health, Ocando looks for formulas that are “effective, thoughtfully designed, and support long-term scalp health” rather than those that deliver a dramatic reset at the cost of the scalp barrier.

Over five weeks, we’ve seen the Big Brother 28 houseguests jump everywhere from the dawn of man to the 70’s to the far-flung future. But no matter what era they resided in, it would always be “Chuk Time.” Chuk Anyanwu immediately won safety for himself on Night 1 and, reminiscent of his favorite player Corey Brooks, chose to take a backseat and be more seen than heard. It helped, of course, that he almost immediately found himself in power. He quickly found common ground with Kamu Kirk and Haley Thogmartin, which branded them the “cool kids” of the house. That trio beget the five-person “Red Corner” alliance, which then beget the eight-person “Toolshed” alliance. And they were ready to clean house.

Chuk once said that Big Brother fans only invest in the first month of the season. And, if that was true, it would be a happy ending for him. Through 30 days, the Toolshed hammered the rest of the house, taking up consecutive reigns in the HoH room. But, while the Red Corner lavished in power, the reality TV “icons” were growing antsy to corner their own allies. Four hours before the eviction, Dee Valladares and Rick Devens launched an all-out scramble, feeling that then-pawn Lyric Medeiros would be more loyal to Chuk, Haley, and Kamu than them. The result: A last-minute vote flip, cutting Lyric’s game off mid-note and shocking the trio in the process. As much as Chuk had believed he had created a finely manicured game to net him $750,000, the stench of betrayal immediately lingered in the air.

The minutes, hours, and days following this vote were outright pandemonium. Those who were left in the dark were desperate to find who had turned on them, to the point where they actually turned on each other out of paranoia and suspicion. When La Trice “Lala” Verrett won HoH, the Toolshed was out of power for the first time all season. And it didn’t take long before Kamu went kamikaze on his close allies, throwing Chuk and Haley under the bus to her. So, one day after being blindsided by his own alliance, he suffered another backstab, as Lala threw up Chuk alongside his best friend. Weeks before, Chuk told his allies in confidence he’d go after Lala, outright saying he didn’t know why she was cast on the show. Now, that very person had taken the shot first, leaving him, in his own words, “buffooned.”

Chuk was simultaneously stunned and incensed by Lala, saying her gameplay “disgusted” him. But things were about to get hairier as the week went along. Kamu chose not to use the Veto, and Chuk failed to make any meaningful pitches (despite Taylor Brown‘s tutoring attempts) to protect him and Haley. It was becoming clear this house wasn’t big enough for both the Nigerian cowboy and his number one. In the end, Chuk was undone by mismanaging his balls. Haley took home a much-needed win in the Block Buster competition, and he, near-unanimously, was given the boot.

Now out of the house, Chuk talks with Parade about his reaction to Kamu throwing him under the bus, why Lala’s gameplay “disgusted” him, and why he ultimately couldn’t take game advice from Taylor.

Let’s start with that ball-busting Block Buster. When Haley hit that last ball, what was your reaction? What did you think your chances were of staying?
So when Haley knocked that final ball off, also someone who’s a former softball player being Haley, I was like, “Yo, I have to sit next to Barrett.” And Barrett is so loved by the house. He’s a man of few words, but him being so loved by the house, I knew I was in trouble. Also, everyone sees him as a floater and not the strongest competitor. And so I knew, “Floater, super loved in the house. Everyone’s gonna use that to get them the farthest, and maybe even have to take him with them the farthest.”

So I knew I was in trouble sitting next to Barrett, but there was a small inkling in my brain where I was like, “You know what? I had an amazing alliance, and if they got together and cascaded and had all those conversations, [I could stay].” Because they were dispersing away from me and Haley all week, right? And we had to trust Kamu that they were all having certain conversations on trying to keep me in the game. But the way people would react when I would walk into certain rooms, I knew, “Okay, I am in trouble and I need to make sure I’m having certain conversations.”

Sitting next to Barrett was something that I did not want to do because I knew that the chances of me going home were high. But also, if I had sat next to Haley, the chances of her going home were high because she had an even rougher week. So it was kind of like you want to sit next to Haley because you potentially could stay in the game, but she’s we were two. We wanted to go all the way. But sitting next to Barrett, I literally was taking a chance that my alliance got together to formulate a way to save me, since we had the numbers. The Red Corner had the numbers! And so to see that downfall from just a week, it sucks, man. It surely did.

Well, let’s get into what had you facing eviction in the first place. You picked Kamu for the Veto, and after he won it, you had hoped that he would have used it on you, considering the alliance you thought you had. What was your reaction when he ultimately didn’t?
Kamu not using the veto when I know he’s a strong player and I know he had this allegiance to just our trio. Me, him, and Haley started the whole dang thing. So him not using it on me, I knew that, “This is very Kamu.” The last two weeks, he’s been very suspicious. He’s been distancing himself from us, but he does that just because he wants to make sure he clears the smoke that people don’t think that we’re working together. I think you guys have seen a few Jason’s fiascos. He would always bring up me, Haley, and Kamu’s name.

Kamu not using it hurt my heart because I’m like, “Dude, what do you mean you’re trying to save other people in our alliance? Two people that you started this game with are on the block, and the fact that you can potentially save one and let the other go into Block Buster, and if that other person doesn’t win the Block Buster, you know we can rally the votes. We have the numbers.” That told me everything about his game, and that told me, “Okay, Kamu is making a line in the sand, and we know what players he’s prioritizing.” And me and Haley already knew. But him not using it specifically on me, who chose him, I had so much doubt. I was like, “You know what, Chuk? You should have chosen Yash!” [Laughs.] If I had chosen Yash, I don’t know if Yash would have won that Veto. But if I had told Yash, I would have known Yash would have put that dang medallion on my neck because that’s crazy.

Well, I’m not sure if you’re aware. But Kamu is actually one of the reasons why you were nominated in the first place. For most of Friday, Lala was going to put up Kamu. But Kamu talked to her and threw you and Haley under the bus, saying you had been saying you would nominate her. And that was a major factor in you getting put on the block. What’s your reaction to that?
That’s news to me, but it’s nothing that surprises me. Me and Haley had our doubts. We kind of looked at all the people who went to Lala last. Lala had her sights set on three people. And it was so baffling to me. Who in the house had that much influence on Lala? Who in the house had that much information on my alliance? And there was only a few people. And Kamu was number one on our list. We also had Angela on our list, and we also had Devens on our list.

And so it was those three people. We kind of monitored who was going in and out of Lala’s room. Kamu went into Lala’s room twice, and he went really last minute too as well. So the fact that she was so dead set on her three nominations, and it was not me; I was not her target. But someone had the sheer amount of influence [to put me up]. And like I just mentioned, Kamu has a ton of influence. It does not surprise me, and it just shows how snakey people could be. Because you can see their eyes when you’re in the house and you know when they’re trying to avoid you and you know when they’re being guilty. But it is absolutely crazy to me knowing that it was Kamu. But it does not surprise me if, you guys are in that house, you can feel when someone is deceiving you! And my spidey senses, as I call them, always went crazy around certain people. And I knew like, “Yeah, this game has completely flipped on me.”

You’ve certainly had some thoughts on Lala during your time in the house. At one point, you said you didn’t know why she was put on the show. Then, after she nominated you, you said in the Diary Room that she was “delusional” and that her gameplay “disgusted” you. What made you feel that way?
If you play the game with Lala and you’ve been there with her and you’ve been there in those moments, you have seen the way she plays the game. And I’m sure everyone has seen our Tea Party, right? And truly, in that Tea Party, all my doubts about Lala came true. I love the lady; she’s phenomenal, right? 58, killing it! It truly is a game, and I had no bad things to say about her.

But in the game, she went into the game not knowing how to play the game, and she wanted us to have a truth circle. She wanted us to have a truth circle with all the houseguests to reveal all the truths. Why would we do that?! Why would we reveal our alliances?! And she asks, “How do I play this game?” And I made this kind of joke with Yash all the time. I’m like, “She almost was crying, saying, ‘How do I play this game?’ I’m like, ‘How are you asking how to play this game this far in?!'” This let me know she was confused the whole time, and I stand by that. Not to confuse it with the real world, but in the game.

And Taylor even confirmed. She was like, “I don’t even think Lala knows what she’s doing.” And when Taylor told me that when I was nominated, I knew I was completely right. Lala just got wind of new information literally minutes before she was getting ready to put people on the block. So I still stand by it. She just did not know how to play the game, and she just wanted to be the mother of the house, which we love. She made amazing dinners! She was the best. She wanted to be the mom of the house, and she always would say, when she was on the block, she was like, “Why would someone want to put me, this old lady, on the block?” This is the game! You can’t just skate by because you’re playing the mom role. So I still stand by that. I was really disgusted by how she was trying to have a truth circle and not knowing how to play this game. It’s like, “Come on, you gotta get your legs going. Let’s go!”

After Kamu doesn’t use the Veto, Taylor gives you some advice on what she believes you need to say to people to stay this week. In your goodbye message, she says, “It seems as if you don’t want to listen to anything anybody says about anything.” What’s your reaction to that?
I love it! I appreciate her giving me advice. That is great. But it was hard for me in a moment to take advice from someone who’s seen the block twice and someone who has came to me asking me what they should do. You have came to me countless times crying, saying I need to go talk to this person for you and I need to go talk to that person for you. So in that moment, taking advice from a player who I, quite frankly, did not feel was a strong competitor, competition-wise in just being able to navigate the game and form certain alliances. She tried to form countless alliances with me. I never wanted anything to be concrete, so I’d kind of just jump around the convo saying, “Yeah, we should do that,” but I never got back to it.

So [from] someone who I didn’t feel was a strong competitor, I really couldn’t take that advice. Was that good advice? Yeah, it was great advice. But when you’re in the moment, when you’re in the game, truly, you guys don’t understand that if there’s someone who’s not a strong competitor and you see they have no alliances trying to give you advice, we would label her as someone in the middle. She was someone who we knew we would have to take out sooner than later. I could not take that advice, and I kind of took her advice with a grain of salt.

Just moody. She wakes up, and you don’t know if she’s going to be hot or cold. And so my word would truly just be “moody” for her. And you’re kind of walking on eggshells around her, like everyone in the house is did, and probably still is.
And finally, Yash.
Crazy! The dude is just crazy in the best way possible. He knows how to truly work a crowd, has influence in the house. I think he just needs to form some concrete alliances because I fear my boy Yash might be next up. They are coming for strong players this season, bro. They are coming for strong players, and Yash is considered a strong player. I need him to form a concrete alliance because I need him to go far. Love the guy, but crazy. Because of this guy’s “would you rather”s. If you’re in the house, you know Yosh is known for “would you rather”s. He’s always throwing the most craziest statements when the house is like dead silent. So one word would be “crazy Yash,” man! [Laughs.]

Well, I have good news for you: Yash is the new HoH!

“The Challenge” star Tyler Duckworth died on Tuesday, Aug. 11 at the age of 44, and new details have emerged about his passing.

The Grand Forks Police Department told PEOPLE that Duckworth was found dead in his apartment after they received calls from downstairs neighbors about water coming through the ceiling. Officers were sent to the residence at 11:45 a.m. and entered his apartment. They confirmed the water coming through the ceiling was from the bathtub, which is where Duckworth’s body was found.

“Police said it was not clear how long he had been deceased, but that he was seen the day before. Officers also noted that there didn’t appear to be any signs of foul play or a suspicious death,” the outlet wrote.

His exact cause of death is “pending the results of an autopsy.” They will also be conducting a toxicology report, which can take between 10 and 12 weeks, police further told PEOPLE.

Duckworth’s death was announced by his mother, Joni, on Facebook on Thursday, Aug. 13.

“My son, Tyler, passed away earlier this week,” she wrote, adding his “cause of death has yet to be determined.”

The Bunim/Murray Productions team also released a statement to Variety on his passing.

“Tyler was truly part of the Bunim/Murray family, he was an exceptional human being and beloved by both fans and his fellow contestants alike on ‘The Challenge,’” they said. “He will be missed by us all and our heart goes out to his family, his friends and everyone who enjoyed watching him compete on the show across so many seasons.”

Following the news, fans paid tribute.

“Tyler was a remarkable man and a great friend to many. He made fantastic television. He was a great challenger. He was a very good swimmer. And eater. This is a really tough loss. Call your friends people,” ‘The Challenge’ star Wes Bergmann posted on X.

“He brought a lot of energy and personality to The Challenge. Rest in peace,” one person commented

“Wow that is so sad.. always liked him on every season he was on. RIP,” another person wrote.

Reality star Amy Slaton is adding singer-songwriter to her resume.

The 1000-lb Sisters star recently announced that she will be releasing her very first song, titled “Pounds Hollow.” Described as “a country rap heart from the lakeside,” the song is set to be released before the Season 9 premiere of the TLC series on September 1.

“Some of y’all must be new here, because I’ve been singing for years,” Slaton captioned a sneak peek of the music video. “And be sure to tune in to 1000-lb Sisters to watch EVERY SINGLE STEP of this song come to life — from the original poem, to turning it into a song, to the music, recording process, and all the way to the MUSIC VIDEO!”

In a trailer for the upcoming season of 1000-lb Sisters, Amy is accused by her brother, Chris, of using artificial intelligence to write her song. However, Slaton denied the allegations, saying, “It’s not A.I., it’s Amy.”

This new song comes just a few months after Slaton married her fiancé Brian Lovvorn in October 2025. Slaton was previously married to Michael Halterman and the couple shares two sons, Gage, born in November 2020, and Glenn, born in July 2022.

Her new husband is also featured in the potential cover art for the single.

“‘Pounds Hollow’ is more than just a place to me. It was where my family went when we didn’t have much, but somehow had everything we needed… a place to laugh, run, swim, and feel free,” Slaton added about the song’s inspiration.

As expected, fans of the reality star are excited about this new chapter.

Back in 2021, The CW brought the first season of Canadian dramedy Moonshine to its airwaves. After that, there was silence.

There have been two more seasons in Canada since then, with the series wrapping up in 2023. However, those two seasons haven’t aired on The CW, and with all the changes, fans have feared the worst. Matt Webb Mitvoch got all the details and shared them via his Inside Line post, and while it is initially bad news, there is some good mixed in.

The CW Won’t Air ‘Moonshine’ On Its Network

The first season didn’t perform as well as the network hoped for. In the end, it decided not to air the next two seasons of the Canadian drama.

It is possible to watch Moonshine Season 2 on The CW App. That was where the network decided to run the show, but it didn’t pick up the third and final season. Of course, that means everyone who enjoyed it has been left in limbo. Even Tubi didn’t help with only landing two seasons of the series.

He ended the note with, “The CW has no plans to air Seasons 2 or 3.”

This decision came before the huge overhaul to The CW’s programming, so it has nothing to do with Nexstar. It was simply a series that didn’t resonate with enough people.

All Three Seasons of ‘Moonshine’ Are Streaming in the U.S.

While The CW won’t air the three seasons, you can watch them elsewhere. While sharing the bad news about The CW, Mitvoch did share that all three seasons are available on Prime Video. There are 24 episodes in total to binge-watch, making it a fun weekly watch as we close in on the end of the summer.

Moonshine followed a dysfunctional family, where each of the half-siblings attempted to take over the running of the family business. Think of it as a Canadian, comedic version of Succession on HBO.

Unfortunately, this series was cancelled in Canada by the public broadcaster, CBC. It didn’t get a final season order, but fear not! This is not a series that ends with multiple questions and dangling threads. The Nova Scotia-set series had a natural ending, as the Finley-Cullen family figured out how to make their lives work together.

The longest family coaster in the Midwest is coming to Silver Dollar City in 2027. The beloved theme park, located near Branson, Mo., has revealed plans for Miner’s Mountain Express, a daring family-friendly coaster that will join the park’s line-up of award-winning attractions.

Miner’s Mountain Express will soar through the sky for more than three minutes and deliver 15 airtime moments, more than any other coaster at Silver Dollar City. Designed with the entire family in mind, the minimum height requirement is just 39 inches. The ride will be located in a brand new section, Daredevil Pass, and connect riders with other must-do attractions, like WildFire, PowderKeg and The American Plunge. 

“Miner’s Mountain Express invites guests aboard runaway mine cars racing across Daredevil Pass, dodging boulders, crossing rugged Ozarks terrain and plunging past a flooded mine shaft in search of a lost entrance to Marvel Cave,” Silver Dollar City shared in a press release. The coaster’s storyline is rooted in factual history as it’s inspired by the real Marble Cave Mining Company, which operated on the site in the 1880s before the cave was renamed Marvel Cave after prospectors discovered no marble at all. 

“For over 65 years, Silver Dollar City has entertained our guests through fun story-based adventures,” shared Brad Thomas, president of the Silver Dollar City Company, in a press release. “This family coaster has been designed so that multiple generations of families can enjoy the mountain-themed adventure together. Annually, Silver Dollar City welcomes visitors from every state in America. In 2027 and beyond, this family coaster and our all-new resort continue our growth strategy to invite even more guests to discover the Ozarks for their vacations and getaway weekends.”

“Celebrating the grit and determination that built the Ozarks,” its architectural details take cues from the region, including weathered mining structures, rugged rockwork and the use of authentic equipment. “The ride follows the natural contours of the Ozark Mountains above Marvel Cave, a United States Registered Natural Landmark first explored by the Osage centuries ago and the place that inspired the creation of Silver Dollar City.”  

“For Miner’s Mountain Express, we asked ourselves how families could step into the park’s own origin story, which literally began with a hole in the ground called Marvel Cave,” shared Erica Rutledge, senior creative director at Herschend Creative Studios. “Every building, every tool and every detail was thoughtfully designed to honor the people who came before us while creating an unforgettable adventure for today’s families.”

And of course, keeping in Silver Dollar City’s traditions, there’s a bit of lore attached to the highly anticipated new ride. It will introduce the original character Jedidiah “Jed” Campbell, a legendary mining foreman.

The new coaster will be custom-designed for Silver Dollar City by MACK Rides, who also manufactured the park’s award-winning roller coaster Time Traveler. Much of the construction and storytelling elements will be helmed by the park’s own team alongside Herschend Creative Studios. 

Miner’s Mountain Express is anticipated to open Spring 2027.

When The Beach Boys gathered in 1966 to shoot promotional footage for Pet Sounds, nobody expected the day to generate one of the most iconic and beloved moments in the band’s history.

What was supposed to be a routine video shoot created a classic, behind-the-scenes gem that fans are still celebrating six decades later. There were no big budgets or detailed scripts involved. Instead, the band relied on loose home-movie camera work to capture a casual, behind-the-scenes look at the group just as Pet Sounds was coming together.

The band’s official Instagram page revisited the classic footage in an August 13, 2026 post. It gave fans a peek into the unlikely story behind the shoot.

The video caption read, “Fun fact. The ‘Sloop John B’ music video was filmed by Dennis [Wilson] at one of the Wilson brothers’ homes.”

In the playful video, the fully clothed group jumped into the pool. Then, they attempt the impossible task of fitting everyone onto one flotation device.

The post’s comments section was filled with fans who remembered just how fun this video was to watch. “Sloop John B” reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in May of that same year.

“Is that why Dennis didn’t appear in the video?” asked one fan. “At Carl’s home,” deduced a second follower.

A third Instagram user penned, “I miss these guys, thank god the music continues.” A fourth fan concluded, “I knew it!”

One of Pet Sounds‘ most beloved tracks actually has roots back decades before The Beach Boys added their signature harmonies. As the only cover on Pet Sounds, the song originated as a Bahamian folk tune, first brought to a wider audience in author Richard Le Gallienne’s 1917 novel, Pieces of Eight.

According to American Songwriter, the traditional tune was originally titled “The John B. Sails.” After appearing in Le Gallienne’s novel, the song gained further traction when poet and biographer Carl Sandburg included its lyrics in his landmark 1927 folk compilation, The American Songbag.

Decades before Wilson ever heard the melody, it had already made the rounds. The Kingston Trio brought it to the mainstream in 1958 under the title “(The Wreck of the) John B,” paving the way for early ’60s covers by Lonnie Donegan and Jimmie Rodgers, as well as a 1969 rendition by Johnny Cash. By the time Wilson decided to rework the traditional track for Pet Sounds, it was nearly a half-century old.

Ultimately, the video for “Sloop John B” stands as a rare, candid snapshot of a band on the brink of reshaping music forever. Six decades later, looking back at five guys goofing around in a pool fully clothed is a refreshing reminder that even the most revolutionary album in rock history had its moments of fun.
