Ian Gillan, the legendary frontman of the beloved '70s rock band Deep Purple, has announced a major 2027 solo speaking tour. The announcement comes just as Deep Purple prepares to gear up for their massive SPLAT! World Tour, which is set to commence this August.

Gillan's solo trek, dubbed the Talking Gib'rish Tour, will provide audiences with intimate talk-based shows that highlight the rocker's over six-decade-long career. During the events, Gillan will reflect on his time with Deep Purple, sharing personal stories from his life of touring the world and making music.

The Talking Gib'rish Tour will take place throughout the spring of 2027 across the United Kingdom, commencing on April 28 at the Bournemouth Pavilion and concluding on May 29 at London's Cadogan Hall. During the run's press release, the singer expressed his enthusiasm about getting the opportunity to share firsthand accounts from his career with a live audience for the first time.

"I am quivering with anticipation at the prospect of embarking on my first ever public speaking engagements...The 'Talking Gib'rish' tour, in April/May 2027," Gillan said. "I'll be covering a lot of ground, from my early days in Hounslow to whatever might have happened on the latest world tour with my beloved Deep Purple... and maybe something funky in-between. After 65 years on the road, there will be stories about some of the fascinating and sometimes magical events and people that I've encountered along the trail. It's going to be a blast!"

Bananas are hands down one of the most popular fruits in the U.S. According to a survey conducted by The Packer, a produce industry publication, nearly 83% of grocery shoppers purchased bananas within 12 months before being surveyed. The fruit is even more widely consumed than apples, according to the survey.

Bananas are packed with nutrients, including fiber, vitamin C and potassium. Eating bananas regularly supports heart health, helps with digestion, supports the immune system, helps with blood sugar control, can assist with weight loss and even can lead to better sleep.

If you are among the 25% of people in the U.S. with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), formally known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, you may be wondering if eating bananas regularly can support your liver. On the one hand, it’s packed with nutrients. But on the other hand, bananas contain a fair amount of naturally occurring sugars, and it’s been scientifically shown that a diet high in sugar can be detrimental to liver health. 

To learn more about how eating bananas regularly impacts liver health, Parade talked to Dr. Qin Rao, MD, a gastroenterologist and hepatologist with Manhattan Gastroenterology.

Dr. Rao says that there are several ways that eating bananas regularly supports liver health. One big one is its high fiber content. “Fiber helps support liver health by promoting a healthy weight, improving blood sugar control and reducing fat buildup in the liver. It may also help lower inflammation, which is important for preventing liver disease progression."

To this point, a 2023 scientific study published in Frontiers in Public Health found that maintaining a high-fiber diet is associated with a lower risk of MASLD. Similar to what Dr. Rao explained, the researchers say that this is largely because high-fiber diets are associated with weight loss, and maintaining a healthy weight is key to liver health.

It’s not a coincidence that fiber supports both the gut and the liver. “The gut and liver are closely connected through what is known as the gut-liver axis. Blood from the intestines flows directly to the liver, so substances produced in the gut can affect liver health. When the gut is healthy, it helps reduce inflammation and supports normal liver function,” Dr. Rao explains.

The inverse is true, too: An unhealthy gut can allow harmful bacteria and toxins to reach the liver, contributing to fatty liver disease and liver inflammation. “Eating fiber-rich foods, such as bananas, helps support beneficial gut bacteria and may indirectly benefit the liver,” he says.

Bananas are a notoriously good source of potassium, and while many people think of this electrolyte in the context of supporting heart health, potassium is good for the liver too. “Potassium may support liver health by helping improve insulin sensitivity and reducing inflammation. Some studies have found that people who consume more potassium have a lower risk of fatty liver disease and liver scarring,” Dr. Rao says.

As with other fruits, bananas are high in antioxidants, which is another way they benefit the liver. Dr. Rao explains that antioxidants protect the body from oxidative stress, a process that can contribute to liver inflammation and damage.

While it’s clear that bananas are full of nutrients that benefit the liver, they also contain a decent amount of sugar. Minimizing sugar content is important for preventing or reversing MASLD, making it confusing to know if bananas are truly good for the liver or not.

Dr. Rao emphasizes that the natural sugars in bananas are not associated with liver disease. “Unlike sugary drinks and processed foods, bananas also contain fiber, vitamins and antioxidants that slow sugar absorption and provide health benefits,” he says.

While fruit is certainly a healthier choice than ultra-processed foods high in sugar, the science is mixed on whether increasing fruit consumption truly supports liver health. A 2024 review published in Frontiers in Nutrition found that a diet high in fruits and vegetables is linked to a lower risk of MASLD. But a 2022 study published in the Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology had a different conclusion. The study included 80 adults with MASLD. One group ate at least four servings of fruit a day for six months. A second group ate less than two servings of fruit for six months. At the end of the six months, the fruit-eating group had a significantly higher BMI than the group that ate less fruit.   

What should you take away from these mixed results? “Bananas can be a healthy addition to a liver-friendly diet, but the overall eating pattern matters most. A diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains, legumes, nuts and fish provides the strongest support for long-term liver health,” Dr. Rao says.

In other words, incorporating a banana into your breakfast or lunch every day can’t outweigh a diet that consists primarily of foods and drinks that are detrimental to liver health (namely, ultra-processed foods high in sugar and salt, sugary drinks and alcoholic drinks). But bananas can absolutely be an integral part of a diet that supports liver health.

As long as the rest of your diet is supporting your liver, adding a banana into the mix can help play a supporting role. It certainly makes having one for a snack appealing!

Earlier this year, while promoting his film Project Hail Mary, Golden Globe Award winning actor Ryan Goslingexpressed his admiration for Days of Our Lives legend Deidre Hall. After publicly accepting Hall’s offer to visit the set, she has now gives an update on whether the actor has made his way to the Burbank studio yet.

In honor of Hall's 50th anniversary with the soap opera, she was interviewed by TV Watercooler’s journalist Jeevan Brar. At one point, Brar asked if Gosling had made his appearance on set yet.

“That stinker has not been there yet,” she joked. “No, he has not made it yet,” she clarified.

Hall explained that Gosling has been busy promoting and working on another film.

She also shared how Gosling’s professional reputation precedes him: “I keep hearing that he is just a lovely, generous man, a kind man.”

She went on to explain that his reputation with cast and crew is phenomenal, adding he is “really well respected and well liked.”

Gosling originally made his comments during an appearance on the Happy, Sad, Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz.

“Soap opera actors, in general they do not get the love they deserve,” Gosling explained.

He went on to explain how big a fan he was of Hall’s, especially during her infamous 1994 storyline, which saw Hall’s character, Marlena, possessed by the Devil. “It was just an incredible acting class,” he said.

Since then, Hall and Gosling have playfully gone back and forth across various forms of social media, with Hall excitedly reacting to his touching words and Gosling sending flowers to the set, followed by Hall ultimately extending an open invitation to visit the set.

Fans will have to stay tuned to see if and when Gosling will visit the set and whether he will appear in a future episode of Days of Our Lives.

Mike Myers just dropped another clue that a fourth installment of the Austin Powers franchise is on its way.

The comedy legend, 62, who got his start on Saturday Night Live, is known as the star of films like Wayne’s World and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery. In a new post to his Instagram, Myers sent another signal that indicated a fourth Installment of Austin Powers is in the works. He just shared a selfie alongside some of his legendary Austin Powers castmates, like Rob Lowe and Seth Green. While it's clear the selfie was taken on the set of the recent Verizon commercial, the group filmed together, it's the caption that really got people talking about a new sequel.

"Had a delightfully EVIL time getting this band back together! We’ll have to do it again soon mwah-hah-hah-hah #austinpowers," Myers captioned the photo, which showed him in full Dr. Evil costume on the set of the commercial.

The comedy icon's new tease comes on the tail of major news he shared last week. Myers was asked by a fan on Trevor Noah’s World Cup Watch Party whether there would be an Austin Powers 4. Myers responded with a simple “yes," and didn't elaborate any further.

Back in 2020, franchise director Jay Roach told Deadline that the potential for a fourth installment of the franchise all depends on whether Myers has something that really inspires him to delve into a new film.

“I wouldn’t say ‘never’ never, but it does depend on Mike having something that he’s inspired about and after all these years it hasn’t quite clicked yet. But I’m always game for anything he wants to do. He’s a genius and he helped me get started and it was a blast,” Roach added.

Maybe that stroke of inspiration has struck!

Last week, Verizon debuted its new Menace Mobile commercial, which featured Myers in full Dr. Evil garb alongside Green, Lowe, and Mindy Sterling, who plays Frau Farbissina.

Myers has been plenty busy these days. Last month, he received a special award at the Canadian Screen Awards.

While Myers is a U.S. citizen, the Canadian-born actor is wildly proud of his native country. You may recall that in April 2025, he appeared alongside Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney in a TV ad wearing a jersey that read “Never 51,” in response to U.S. President Donald Trump’s 51st state taunts against Canada, THR reminded us. Myers later returned to his other home turf, Saturday Night Live, and made a statement by wearing a “Canada is not for sale” T-shirt.

However, financial expert and author Rachel Cruze takes that classic advice one step further in a new TikTok video, telling her followers that where they keep their emergency fund can make the biggest difference.

Her advice actually makes a lot of sense, and you may find yourself making money moves after learning why she says you need to keep your emergency savings somewhere special.

If your emergency fund is sitting in your checking account, there's a good chance it doesn't feel very "emergency only." 😅   The more accessible money is, the easier it is to justify dipping into it for things that aren't actually emergencies.   That's why I recommend keeping your emergency fund in a separate high-yield savings account. It's not enough just to have an emergency fund, according to Cruze, who says where you keep it is almost as important. She shared her message on her popular TikTok account, telling her followers that keeping your emergency fund in your checking account could turn into an expensive mistake.

"Do not do this, because things are gonna come up in life and you're gonna be like, 'Oh, yeah, I'll just use some of this here,'" she said, noting that having easy access to the money makes it easier to spend on non-emergencies.

Instead, she says people should put their emergency fund to work by investing it in something that can earn interest. "Have a separate account, a high-yield savings account, just for your emergency fund," she continued, advising her followers to start off with $1,000 in their account. After that, she says you should pay off all of your consumer debt before increasing that $1,000 to cover between three to six months' worth of expenses.

"That is a fully funded emergency fund," she continued. "But it needs its own place, its own home. Put it aside. Don't keep it in your checking account."

People flocked to the comments to share their opinions about Cruze's advice, with many people agreeing with her. "I learned this lesson the hard way. My Financial Peace advisor gave me this advice years ago, and it was a total game changer," one person wrote.

"Love keeping [my money separate]," another person wrote. "If it [isn 't] there, there's no temptation to spend."

According to NerdWallet, a high-yield savings account is a great place to park your money while you're trying to build up your emergency fund. However, the publication takes it one step further and says that the real savings can be found with online accounts because these financial institutions often have less overhead, thanks to not having a physical presence, which can result in higher interest rates and zero fees.

They recommend the following accounts:

• CIT Bank Platinum Savings, which has a rate of up to 4.10 percent
• Marcus by Goldman Sachs Online Savings Account, which has a rate of up to 3.40 percent
• Forbright Bank Growth Savings, which has a rate of up to 4.15 percent

Please note: These rates are current as of June 2026, and can fluctuate from month to month.

Of course, you'll want to check into these accounts before making any deposits, and confirm whether they have annual fees, minimum account balances, and how quickly you can access your money if a true emergency does come up.

Derek Hough is excited by the celebrities joining the upcoming season of Dancing with the Stars.

Hough has been part of the series since 2007, when he joined as a professional dancer, before becoming a host in 2020. The reality competition show recently celebrated 20 years on air.

Hough choreographed an opening number for a birthday party-themed episode. 

“It was really important to [embody] this idea of passing the torch from the pros that really began this all to this new cast of dancers,” he told The Hollywood Reporter in a recent interview.

The performance brought back dancers from the show’s first season to introduce the dance, including EdytaSliwinska, Ashly DelGrosso, Louis van Amstel, Jonathan Roberts, Charlotte Jorgensen, and Alec Mazo.

After a record-breaking 34th season, this next season is set to be another monumental one. The Dancing with the Stars judge teased what is in store for number 35.

“We’re having this momentum from the past two seasons,” Hough said. “The celebrities are so excited to be on the show, to dance, to compete, to really get the full experience, and that dynamic of a celebrity who is wanting [to win] and really embracing it, that’s what creates great seasons.”

Currently, the cast includes Savannah Bananas player Jackson Olson,Summer House's CiaraMiller, Irish reality television personality MauraHiggins, and Jimmy Kimmel Live sidekick GuillermoRodriguez for season 35.

Hough seems excited by the rest of the Dancing with the Stars celebs.

“We have a really good cast. There are some people that I know are waiting in the wings,” he revealed. “I’ve been told some of the people that are going to be on the next season. It’s going to be a great one.”

Jenny Mollen believes there may be more to the backlash over her controversial photo with her son than the image itself.

The actress and author appeared on Not Skinny but Not Fat on Tuesday, June 23, where she reflected on the criticism she received after sharing a photo of herself back in May embracing her 12-year-old son, Sid, alongside the caption, “Your oldest child will be the most toxic guy you ever date.”

The post sparked heated debate online, with critics accusing Mollen of crossing boundaries and others defending the joke as consistent with the type of parenting humor she's shared for years.

But what stood out to Mollen, however, was the timing. A few weeks before the controversy erupted, the 47-year-old and actor Jason Biggs publicly confirmed their separation after nearly two decades together. Looking back, she thinks the reaction may have been very different had she still been publicly viewed as part of a couple.

“I think that if I had made this joke a month ago, two months ago, it would have played differently,” Mollen said on the podcast. “I think that there's something about a woman who is not attached to a man that somehow reads as a threat, dangerous.”

The backlash surprised Mollen largely because she says the joke wasn't new. “I've been making this joke forever,” she explained. “I've been like a voice on motherhood in a lot of ways.”

According to the actress, critics weren't just reacting to the photo itself. “They're sexualizing, moralizing; They're reading their own sh*t into it and saying, ‘Yeah, this woman is a threat,’” she said.

The criticism became so intense that Mollen said she broke down in tears. During that time, Biggs stepped in to support her. “I had just been like crying,” she recalled. “Jason had come over and was like, ‘You know, do you want me to say something?’”

While she appreciated the gesture, Mollen ultimately decided to address the situation herself. Instead of issuing a statement, she wrote a personal essay about the experience on her Substack.

Mollen and Biggs announced their separation on May 14 after 18 years of marriage. In addition to Sid, they are also parents to Lazlo, 9.

As far as their relationship now, Mollen says they’re still close. “We live in two different places, but we're still tethered,” Mollen said. “We have kids. We still talk 18 times a day about everyone's schedule and after school and holidays.”

Though their marriage has ended, she says the relationship itself hasn't disappeared. “We still love each other,” Mollen shared. “It's just the end of the romantic part. It's a different type of romance.”

Bode Miller, an Olympic skiing legend, is facing criminal charges in Idaho.

TMZ reports that Miller has been charged with two misdemeanor counts stemming from an incident on June 6. Specifically, the charges are one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia.

Miller posted the $5,000 cash bond and was released. He has entered not guilty pleas for both charges.

"Court records show his attorney filed an appearance on his behalf shortly after the case was opened. The case remains active … with Miller due back in court for a pretrial hearing on July 29," TMZ further added.

Miller is a decorated Olympian, having won 6 Olympic medals in his legendary career, including a gold medal at the 2010 Vancouver Games. Miller was also a two-time overall World Cup champion in 2005 and 2008.

His arrest comes three days before the eighth anniversary of Miller and his wife suffering the loss of their baby daughter, Emeline, who died after drowning in a neighbor's swimming pool on June 9, 2018. 

"Never in a million years did we think we would experience a pain like this. Her love, her light, her spirit will never be forgotten. Our little girl loved life and lived it to it’s fullest everyday. Our family respectfully requests privacy during this painful time," Miller said in a 2018 Instagram post announcing the news.

Then, in 2023, while appearing on season 2 of Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test, Miller opened up about the tragic accident with the other contestants.

"It was brutal. She let herself out the back door and jumped right into our neighbor's pool," he says, beginning to cry.

Miller was asked by one of the contestants how he "deals with something like that," to which he replied, "It does not go away."

If you're looking to get a new car, leasing may seem like an affordable option. In fact, it sounds like the most appealing option for many, given that Dave Ramsey recently claimed that 78 percent of the cars driving off the lot these days are being paid for through a leasing program.

However, just because it's popular, it doesn't mean it's a good idea. Ramsey even warned his followers against this method during a recent episode of The Dave Ramsey Show, and his reason is actually pretty compelling.

Ramsey shared a clip from a recent episode on Instagram, giving his followers insight into exactly how a car lease works. "Car leasing is now 78 percent of the new cars that leave the lot," he began, describing the loan as a series of payments that require either a lump sum payment at the end of the life of the loan if you want to keep the car, or require you to turn it back in to settle your balance.

"Put those numbers, that stream of payments and a lump sum, into a financial calculator as opposed to the actual MSRP, the sticker price, and back out what the cost is of what's called cost of capital in a lease," he continued, explaining that this is how you can determine the interest rate you're paying on the money you're borrowing. "On average, it's 14.2 percent right now. So you borrowed money at 14 percent."

Ramsey went on to explain that the interest rate isn't disclosed because the Federal Trade Commission doesn't require that figure to be shared, since it's not considered a loan by the organization. "So they're sidestepping everything and screwing you people," he concluded.

Ramsey may be known for his financial conservatism, but his followers didn't seem to share his philosophy about car leases. Instead of feeling "screwed," many people popped into the comments to share the benefits of car leases.

"Incorrect. You can be smart about [it]," one person wrote. "You don’t ever return it or buy it. You go sell it for a premium to a dealership or private sale, and it works much juicier than you explained, but what do I know, right?"

Several people shared how they like having the ability to upgrade their car at the end of their lease, with one person writing, "Leasing is great. I get a new car every 3 years. I don’t have to worry about it breaking down. No mechanics to see."

According to Travelers Insurance, leasing a car can come with some perks. According to the website, they include:

• The ability to drive a higher-end vehicle
• Lower down payment requirements
• Protection against depreciation
• The option to purchase your car at the end of your lease, or possibly even transfer your lease to another driver if you want to end your lease early

Of course, there are downsides as well, and the website says they include:

• Higher costs
• Driving restrictions (leases may have a mileage limit)
• Higher insurance premiums
• Complex lending and purchasing requirements

Whether you think the pros outweigh the cons when it comes to leasing is a personal decision that only you (and possibly your financial advisor) can make. That said, it's clear this option works for many people. And while the true numbers may not be as high as Ramsey says, the most recent data we found was from Market Reports World from 2024, and claimed that only 28 percent of "global vehicle users" were opting to take out a lease—it does seem like a number of people are seeing an upside to this process.

A 13-year-old boy was taken to a local hospital and evaluated after he exited the boat while on Tiana's Bayou Adventure in Disneyland before the ride had ended.

Resort officials spoke with PEOPLE, explaining how the guest "climbed out of the log ride vehicle before the attraction's conclusion on June 21," which led to the ride immediately being stopped.

"After leaving the boat, the guest continued along part of the attraction's path before being assisted by cast members, resort officials said," the outlet wrote. "As a precaution, the teen was evaluated at a local hospital and later released."

The California Post further stated that the boy "allegedly slid down the attraction’s 50-foot drop," based on online accounts of the incident.

“I was in the ride when this happened I actually saw the kid fall down the hill for a second when our log passed the fall. 4 people in our log saw it and then one minute later the ride stopped for probably 10 minutes then it started again we went throughout the ride like nothing happened,” one user recalled on Reddit. “When we got off there were about 6 Disney police and a mother and two kids were with them all soaked."

The following morning, officials with the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health inspected the ride and approved it to reopen.

Tiana's Bayou Adventure replaced the popular Splash Mountain ride, which closed in May 2023. It is based on the 2009 Disney animated film The Princess and the Frog, and officially opened on Nov. 15, 2024, according to the Disneyland website. It follows Princess Tiana and her friend, a trumpet-playing alligator, as they "travel down the bayou looking for her party’s missing ingredient during Mardi Gras season: the band!" Guests ride in a log flume, with the ending featuring a 50-foot drop.

Joe Manganiello's new tell-all memoir, Bloodlines, reveals the actor has been dealing with chronic illness for several years. The True Blood actor reveals he went through a major health ordeal and "multiple near-death experiences" that led him to look for answers.

In an exclusive with People, the actor doesn't give a clear starting timeline of when his medical issues all began. He details it having started almost seven years ago with "a cascade of autoimmune-related illnesses" that affected his skin, thyroid, eyes, lungs, and digestive system. Amid the chronic pain, Manganiello also reveals having had a "life-saving organ amputation."

The actor gives no clear details of what exactly caused his health decline, and even says in his memoir that doctors were left with no clear answers. In a synopsis for the book, it says that Manganiello looked for answers away from traditional means.

He turned to "shamans, pagan rituals, ancient myths, long-lost family records," as well as changing his own spirituality. Amid his research, the Spider-Man actor discovers his ancestor survived the Armenian genocide and battled with chronic illness.

Amid his own health battle, the actor told People with was the "most brutally difficult" time of his life and wouldn't wish it on his worst enemy. Despite this, he also called it his greatest adventure and hopes his memoir will help others dealing with chronis illness.

"I hope that what I went through on this journey can give readers hope that answers and healing may lie for them on the other side of whatever they are fighting through. The process of writing this book gave me the gift of perspective that helped me to see that my suffering was a cocoon from which I would emerge forever changed," he said.

Based on Manganiello's reported timeline, he was married toSofia Vergara at the time before splitting in 2024. Reports cited Vergara not wanting any more children as a reason for the breakup. Manganiello is currently engaged to Catlin O’Connor, with the actor's last roles having been in One Piece, and will star in Army of the Dead: Lost Vegas.

A long-dormant chapter of Omaha's indie rock history is about to come back to life.

Bright Eyes has announced a fall North American tour with a very special opening act: Lullaby for the Working Class, the influential folk-rock group that helped shape the careers of several future Bright Eyes collaborators. The run marks Lullaby for the Working Class' first North American tour in 16 years and only its second live reunion this century.

"Bright Eyes is back on the road this fall, touring select US cities with Lullaby for the Working Class!" the band announced on Instagram. Tickets go on sale to the general public on June 26.

For guitarist, producer and longtime Bright Eyes member Mike Mogis, the tour is much more than a reunion. Before becoming one of the creative forces behind Bright Eyes, Mogis co-founded Lullaby for the Working Class with Ted Stevens in 1994 as an acoustic alternative to the louder punk and rock bands they had been playing in.

"I learned so much from my time with Ted and Lullaby, both as a musician and engineer/producer, that I would go on to employ heavily when I started working with this weird, little kid who Ted was friends with named Conor," Mogis wrote. "We also took Conor on some of the earliest Bright Eyes tours opening for Lullaby and us acting as his backing band."

Those early connections would prove pivotal. Mogis, Stevens and later multi-instrumentalist Nate Walcott all became integral members of Bright Eyes, helping Conor Oberst transform the project from a lo-fi solo endeavor into one of the defining indie rock bands of the late 1990s and 2000s. Albums including I'm Wide Awake, It's Morning, Lifted and Cassadaga established Bright Eyes as one of the era's most acclaimed acts, while Oberst emerged as one of indie music's most celebrated songwriters.

"Mike and I had always been friends and he was playing in Lullaby and he really liked the first [Bright Eyes] CD but his main complaint was how bad it sounded," Oberst recalled in a 2000 interview. "He approached me one day and said 'If you want I'll record you for free and I think it'd be cool because I like your songs.' I was like 'Woah, sure.'"

Meanwhile, Lullaby for the Working Class quietly earned a devoted following of its own through its delicate blend of folk, chamber pop and indie rock. Although the group disbanded in 1999, its influence lived on through the musicians who carried its collaborative spirit into Bright Eyes and numerous other projects.

The band reunited only once before, performing at the 2010 Concert for Equality in Omaha, an event organized by Oberst in opposition to a controversial anti-immigration law passed in Nebraska.

"That is the only time we played this century!" Mogis wrote. "So I am extremely excited to tell you guys that we are going on tour again. The tables have turned so we will be opening for Bright Eyes but we will still all be playing together for both sets just like the old days."

For fans who have followed the intertwined histories of both bands, the upcoming tour offers something far more meaningful than a typical opening set. Sixteen years after their last North American outing, Lullaby for the Working Class is returning alongside the very band it helped inspire, bringing one of indie rock’s most influential musical families back together on stage.

It’s no wonder that Americans are eager to maximize their minimal time away from their desks. U.S. workers receive about 12 paid vacation days a year, which is significantly fewer than their counterparts in Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Australia, and Singapore. From solo travel to romantic getaways to fitting a family vacation into tight schedule gaps, these microvacation destinations have a little (or a lot) for every travel style.

Garcelle Beauvais shared a heartfelt tribute to her sister Carole, announcing the death of her older sister in an emotional Instagram post.

"My beautiful sister Carole I will miss you so much!," she began, sharing a photo with her sister on Tuesday, June 23. "I will always remember times where we would laugh so hard it hurts! Whenever I said I love you you would reply I love you more!

"I wish we had more time !! I’ll never forget how you showed up when I had the twins and you would sleep in the nursery just so you could help And how much you loved Oliver Hope you’re with mom now and the two of you are laughing RIP ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🏽"

No cause of death was revealed. Beauvais is the youngest of seven children.

When she starred on RHOBH from 2021 to 2025, Beauvais had an incident during season 11 when she forgot Carole’s name. Host Andy Cohen then asked her about this at that season's reunion, where she talked about their relationship, adding that the two were not on speaking terms at one point.

“Something happened and we didn’t talk about it, and just let it sort of fester and it just sort of went away,” Garcelle said.

“Was it then Freudian that you couldn’t remember her name?," Cohen then asked.

“Maybe,” Garcelle replied. “Yeah, absolutely.”

Below Deck Mediterranean alum Alex Radcliffe has a bone to pick with Andy Cohen after a Watch What Happens Livegame ended in a "disaster", with the deckhand narrowly missing out on a win.

WWHL guests Below Deck Med stew Gen Lillie and author/actor Ryan O’Connell played "Yacht Cock" where Gen and Ryan were challenged to choose between two Below Deck alums. Alex faced off against another Below Deck Med alum, Mzi "Zee" Dempers, and Zee won hands down.

Andy may not have been responsible for the result, but that didn't stop Alex from calling out the host over what he jokingly dubbed the "disaster on our hands." He rolled the WWHL clip in an Instagram post. Despite shouting out Zee as being a "stud," Alex claims that "Andy didn't give me the time of day!" adding that "I was shut down in seconds."

He continued, "I'm not a sex symbol! I'm nothing! And Andy, I thought we were boys. I thought you'd fight for me." Then he played more of the game, showing how Andy "fought" for pal, deckhand Bobby Giancola.

Of course, Bobby responded, writing, "Thanks for the confidence boost @bravoandy!" adding, "I’m dying lol."

So why is Alex making such a fuss over the game? It all goes back to the playful rapport he developed with Andy during his 2020 Below Deck Mediterranean season. When Alex appeared on the virtual version of Watch What Happens Live, he sported a T-shirt featuring his face photoshopped over a famous photo of Andy andJohn Mayer, complete with the words "Best Friends" splashed across the top.

Andy said, "Well, guess what, Alex. I can't wait to see you in person and get our own picture." He later added, alongside Below Deck Med Season 5 chef Hindrigo "Kiko" Lorran, that he was "getting a little crush on Alex, I have to say."

Tom Cruise is delving into new territory by sporting gray hair, wrinkles, and a hefty belly in the teaser trailer for Alejandro G. Iñárritu's upcoming film, Digger.

Cruise, who is known for groundbreaking films ranging from Top Gun and Jerry Maguire to Magnolia and Mission: Impossible, took to Twitter to share the teaser, which comes at the end of a video showing off a variety of his famous roles throughout the decades. Only Cruise could tease out a new trailer with a retrospective of his most famous roles!

The Digger trailer starts at the 2:30 mark and shows an unrecognizable Cruise in the role of an oil tycoon with a heavy Southern accent. Don't miss the last scene, which shows the character significantly aged. With gray hair and a thick belly, you can't even tell it's Cruise!

The Hollywood Reporter describes the role of Digger Rockwell as "the billionaire executive of a major company causing an environmental disaster via a methane leak that is threatening to displace millions of people."

John Goodman also stars in the film as the President of the United States, while Sandra Huller, Jesse Plemons, Riz Ahmed, Michael Stuhlbarg, Sophie Wilde, and Emma D'Arcy also appear in the comedy.

Iñárritu, who previously directed acclaimed films like Birdman and The Revenant, was shocked by Cruise's transformation into the title character.

"Watching Tom Cruise becoming Digger Rockwell, I was not prepared for that," he told the audience, noting that he was well aware that Cruise was "fearless" from his stunt work, but was blown away by his "embodying this character, this is another kind of fearless… this role could be his most challenging, high-wire act."

Back in April, Cruise Cruise proudly addressed the CinemaCon audience while providing a few stills from Digger. Speaking to the crowd, which is largely made up of cinema owners and Hollywood studios, Cruise asserted his role as a die-hard advocate for movie theaters and keeping them alive.

"I want to thank you all for everything you do," he shared, adding, "we're up 23 percent so far" at the box office in 2026, THR continued. "My film family, you know I'm here for you, and I love you," Cruise said.

The screen icon also took to Twitter/X to express his gratitude and excitement for the upcoming project, which is scheduled for release in October.

But a new survey shows that the most expensive destinations may not be where you think they are. Research shows that the quest for outdoor adventure can have you digging deeper into your wallet.

A study by the travel insurance company Squaremouth looked at flights, meals, hotels, car rentals, and daily trip costs to compile a list of the most expensive destinations. Researchers found that some of the most expensive travel experiences included a taste of adventure. With that said, here’s a look at the top five expensive destinations:

1. Greenland
2. British Virgin Islands
3. French Polynesia
4. Antarctica
5. Maldives

Despite the expenses, researchers also found that about a quarter of all travelers are spending more this year to get the best travel experiences. When asked, 45% of travelers said their travel budgets would increase this year.

But, if you're looking for less expensive destinations, you may want to head to Iceland, Norway, or Zambia. All three were at the bottom of the list in terms of total cost.

What types of activities are making these destinations so expensive? Greenland boasts Arctic expedition cruises as well as chartered private wilderness camps that can cost you. They also offer helicopter rides over glaciers.

If you’re thinking of traveling to the British Virgin Islands, yacht charters, private island stays, and upscale beach bars are always favorites there. If you don’t want to break the bank once you get there, you can always spend time on the islands’ beautiful beaches. There's plenty to enjoy here.

French Polynesia offers many beach activities, including private lagoon tours and sailing, as well as helicopter tours of the area. Don’t forget about all of the shopping!

Quite the switch from the other expensive beachy destinations, Antarctica is the place to go if you want to waddle among penguins or take a polar plunge. There are also rides through the Lemaire Channel. Some people like the cooler weather!

Finally, the Maldives offers snorkeling with whale sharks and stays in overwater bungalows. These types of experiences are often once-in-a-lifetime, which is why they come with a high price tag.

While these destinations can include 5-star resorts, they don’t necessarily have to. Choosing other accommodations can help keep costs down if you plan to take advantage of all the interesting excursions.
