Roger Sweet, Original Creator of 1980s He-Man Character, Dead at 91

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 12:04pm

Roger Sweet, known for having created He-Man in the He-Man and the Masters of the Universe series, has died at the age of 91. His wife confirms the toy designer died in a care home following a battle with dementia.

Sweet's wife, Marlene, confirmed to TMZ that he passed away "peacefully" in a care facility on Tuesday, April 28. It was previously reported back in February that Sweet had dementia, and his wife opened a GoFundMe page asking fans for help in supporting his medical costs.

She explained that the artist had suffered a debilitating fall while he was out for a walk, and discovered "terrible bruising" on his sides, disorientation, and no recollection of what had happened. A trip to the ER revealed he has two brain bleeds along with the physical bruising, and he was admitted to the ICU and later stayed in the main hospital.

"They decided he must live in a Memory care facility, where he can be monitored and safe. He is now at our chosen care facility and is settling in," explained Sweet's wife.

She added that his mental state was declining and the care facilities were not covered by their insurance. Monthly costs for the facility were over $10k, with the GoFundMe campaign having raised over $93k since his death.

Sweet defined a generation of fans with his character He-Man, as he worked as lead designer in Mattel's Preliminary Design Department for over 15 years. He-Man and the Masters of the Universe toy line was created in 1982, with Mattel wanting the next big toy line of action figures to rivalStar Wars. Sweets soon developed the popular sword-wielding action character, once commenting, "This was a powerful figure that could be taken anywhere and dropped into any context because he had a generic name: He-Man!"

The toy designer was born in 1935 in Akron, Ohio, and graduated from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, and the Institute of Design at the Illinois Institute of Technology. Before Mattel, he worked at an industrial design firm, other design companies, and worked on accounts for major companies.

Sweet's death comes months before the release of the live-action Masters of the Universe film set to release in early June.

Are they making 'Happy Place' into a movie?

Originally planned for a series, the novel will now be adapted into a feature film and be released at some point on Netflix who also released the adaptation of Henry's People We Meet on Vacation. Modelo Is Getting Its First High-ABV Beer This Summer

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 12:01pm

Modelo is launching two new higher alcohol beverages this summer.

The top-selling brand of Mexican lager is known for its crisp, refreshing taste that typically falls in the 4 to 5 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) range. But recently, the company started testing the waters (or should we say brews) and offering a wider variety of beer—some with higher ABVs (like the Noche Especial beer it launched for the winter holidays) and others with no alcohol at all.

Now, ahead of all the summertime celebrations, it's doubling down on its bolder offer to appeal to Gen-Z and Millennial-age drinkers, launching what it calls its first high-ABV beverage in two fruity, internationally inspired flavors: Modelo Chelada Suprema Mangonada and Modelo Chelada Suprema Tropical.

"We know a night out doesn’t start when you get to the bar - it starts when you’re hanging out with friends and cracking open that first can," Logan Jensen, vice president of brand marketing at Modelo, shared in an April 29 press release. "Modelo Chelada Suprema gives people the bolder, higher‑proof option they’ve been asking for, without losing the authentic Mexican flavor they love. It lets us show up in new moments that feel social, spontaneous, and worth celebrating."

Modelo Debuts High-ABV Beer in 2 Fruity Flavors

According to an official description shared in an email with Parade, the new recipes are made with "a mix of Mexican beer and blended fruit flavors." The final product? A bubbly, stronger beer with 8 percent ABV.

4 Birth Dates With a Natural "Don't Mess With Me" Aura

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 11:42am

While some people are all talk, others walk the walk when it comes to reliability and trustworthiness. While these individuals have a soft side, especially with their loved ones, they aren't ones to mess with. With their strong boundaries, clear morals, and a fierce need to stand up to injustice, they walk a warrior's path. According to expert numerologists, four birth dates stand out as the most likely to naturally have auras that state "don't mess with me". While they don't go looking for fights, they'll definitely draw the line if someone approaches them or someone they care about with disrespect.

Which Birth Dates Have a "Don't Mess With Me" Aura?

Check for your birth date. Disregard birth months.

Born on the 10th - Golden Energy

Ruled by the Sun, our celestial symbol of bright confidence, these individuals are natural-born leaders. Their strong sense of self-worth shines through in everything they do. Like the Midas touch, whatever they handle turns into metaphorical gold; they bring light to darkness. People feel heard by their dynamic energy, which enables them to delegate tasks, strive for improvement, and assert their needs. As examples of authentic self-expression, they show others that they do not wait for outside approval to be their true selves. In turn, people think twice before approaching them with negativity.

Ruled by Uranus, the planet of cosmic rebellion and innovation, these individuals strive to improve the world around them. They're unafraid to challenge the status quo, understanding that just because something is accepted doesn’t make it right. As advocates for those who are often misunderstood, they will defend not only their friends and family but also complete strangers who deserve better treatment.

When Did Peter Falk Die?

Peter Falk, who is best known for his role as the iconic homicide detective in Columbo, died in 2011 at age 83 after a battle with Alzheimer's disease. Jacqueline Falk's mother, Alyce Mayo, died in 2016 at age 85.

Growing Up With Peter Falk As Their Father

While Jacqueline Falk stayed mum in the press, her sister, Catherine, spoke candidly about their father's unique way of life.

“His art studio was his favorite place to be besides the golf course,” Catherine shared with Closer back in 2023. “He was an incredible sketcher with charcoal. He loved good music, drawing, photography, going to museums and watching fine films.”

Similar to his iconic TV character, Falk was absent-minded.

“He would park the car and always forget where he parked,” says Catherine, who recalled driving around with security guards looking for her dad’s old Mercedes. “He was so consumed with his art, music, politics, and things like that, he didn’t even know the color of his car!”

One of the most important lessons Falk taught his daughters was to live life to the fullest.

“As a child, he had cancer in his eye, so he basically had one eye for his entire life,” says Catherine. “He would always say to me, ‘I see more with one eye than most people see with both eyes.’ And he was right.”

1940 Timeless Classic Became the First Disney Track to Win an Oscar for 'Best Original Song'

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 11:21am

Disney developed some of the best songs for their animated films that have stood the test of time and become nostalgic childhood hits. Singer and actor Cliff Edwards played the role of Jiminy Cricket in the 1940 film Pinocchio and sang a song that would earn Disney their first Oscar.

Carlo Collodi's 1883 novel The Adventures of Pinocchio was turned into one of the earliest musical fantasies produced by Walt Disney. As the story goes, Pinocchio is a wooden puppet whose brought to life and must prove himself to become a real boy. Pinocchio became a smashing success, making $164 million at the box office and cementing itself for years to come as a Disney classic.

Seeing as it's a musical, there are many songs that were sung by its main character, but only one won an Oscar for Best Original Song. "When You Wish Upon a Star" was sung by Edwards and written by Leigh Harline and Ned Washington. It appears in the opening credits of the film and is sung in the final scene of the film when Pinocchio becomes a real boy. Its title refers to a main storyline element of Pinocchio having come alive after Geppetto makes a wish when there was a star in the sky, which happened to be the Blue Fairy.

Edwards and Harline presented the track to the movie crew in 1938, and they instantly knew they had a hit on their hands. Disney felt that the track would be perfect for the opening credits and soon realized it would work as the overall theme song for the film. At first, Edwards only recorded a "test take," seeing as his role as Jiminy was much more limited at the start of production. With Disney loving the track, they decided to make Jiminy the narrator and gave him a more prominent role.

"When You Wish Upon a Star" became the first Disney track to ever win an Oscar and would become one of the greatest songs in film history, according to the American Film Institute. It was also preserved by the Library of Congress in 2009.

Over the years, the song has stayed a Disney staple and has been covered by many artists. Steven Spielberg's 1977 film Close Encounters of the Third Kind even covered the song with John Williams, creating a sci-fi/Disney mashup. KISS's Gene Simmonsalso recorded the track for his 1978 self-titled solo album, claiming the character of Jiminy "spoke to him."

No Doubt Reveals What Songs They Want to Play At The Sphere

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 11:19am

Looks like No Doubt's setlist for The Sphere is coming together.

In a fun Instagram shared by the band on Tuesday, the group revealed what song's they're excited to play in the now-famous Las Vegas venue — and they may not be what you expect.

For lead singer Gwen Stefani, she hopes to play "Spiderwebs" off of the band's 1995 debut album, 'Tragic Kingdom.' The band's drummer, Adrian Young, was seemingly also feeling nostalgic, hoping to play "Happy Now" off the same album.

Moving along their catalogue, bassist Tony Kanal is excited to play "New," while guitarist Tom Dumont is looking forward to playing "Simple Kind of Life," which are both off the 2000 album 'Return of Saturn.'

View this post on Instagram

While the group's major hits including "Just a Girl," "Hey Baby," and "Underneath It All," weren't go-tos for the band members themselves, fans in the comments were still hyped to see their picks.

"'New' is absolutely goated," one fan wrote.

"Yeess [sic] 'Spiderwebs' is my favorite," said another.

"Can’t wait to see you guys next week!!!!" added a third, who was among many ticket holders looking forward to heading to the show.

Fans also sounded off on which songs they want to hear — "By The Way," "The Climb" and songs off the band's "Beacon Street Collection" were among those requested.

Announced in October, No Doubt's residency at The Sphere will kick off on May 6. While the May shows are already sold out, according to the band's site, dates in June still have tickets available.

Amid excitement has been building for the upcoming shows, Dumont announced earlier this month that he has been diagnosed with Parkinson's. However it doesn't seem like the illness will affect his ability to perform.

"The good news is I can still play music, I can still play guitar. I’ve been doing really well,” he said at the time of his announcement.

The Sphere has hosted residencies for The Grateful Dead, The Eagles and The Backstreet Boys since its 2023 opening.

Keith Urban All Smiles at Hall of Fame Induction Amid Rumors of Tension With Daughter

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 11:06am

On April 29, the Musicians Hall of Fame & Museum inducted 12 artists during an exuberant and festive ceremony at the Fisher Center for the Performing Arts in Nashville.

The 9th annual event celebrated Dolly Parton, George Thorogood & The Destroyers, John Boylan, Leland Sklar, Michael McDonald, Dann Huff, Nicky Hopkins, and Keith Urban. Despite questions of a possible rift with his eldest daughter, Sunday Rose, Urban was in great spirits.

Dressed in all black and wearing a Musician's Hall of Fame & Museum bomber jacket, the country music singer smiled for photos and interviews before and after the ceremony.

Ricky Skaggs introduced Urban, who performed "Who Wouldn't Wanna Be Me" and "When Summer Comes." He also played an acoustic version of "Long Hot Summer."

While talking to People, he discussed the close alignment between his personal life and his music. "What it is that a musician has to say at some point is relative to where they're at, what they've been through," he explained.

While Urban's 2025 divorce from actress Nicole Kidman, after 19 years of marriage, is well documented, his standing with his kids is murkier. Australia's New Idea reported that Sunday Rose, 17, had unfollowed her father on social media. However, hours after the news broke, she was back to following him again. Urban's single statement concerning the incident was, "Family is private."

While it would be out of character for either the Practical Magic star or Urban to speak about family issues, some have noticed differences in their relationships with their daughters. The last time Sunday and her sisterFaith, 15, were spotted out with Urban was in 2024. Kidman, on the other hand, has frequently been photographed with them at red carpet events, fashion shows, and even on a trip to Antarctica.

View this post on Instagram

Sunday also gushed about her mom during a recent interview with Elle Australia. "My mum is someone who has always been so creative and my biggest inspiration in life," the model said. "She’s a key part of everything I do."

When appearing at HISTORYTalks, Kidman also revealed the sweet rule she holds her daughters to, which no doubt reinforces their connection. "Both my daughters will kill me for saying this," she told Hoda Kotb, "but I’m like, ‘You need to hug [me] for two minutes a day.'”

"We're so close, the three of us, we talk about everything," she added.

Apart from the wind chime with the fairy sculpture on top, the other versions are more decorative than they are functional, as the chimes are made of plastic and don’t make a sound. However, they all feature LED lights that’ll cast a warm glow and instantly brighten up your outdoor space. If you want one that makes sounds with a similar design, check out this moon version instead.

These windchimes boast six decorative chimes, with each one hanging individually from a nylon braided rope. The length of the chimes is uneven and staggered, elegantly cascading down to create some depth and dimension. These chimes boast a hollow design with ornate cutouts all over the frame, allowing light to shine through.

Each chime is fixed with an LED bulb in the middle,  an environmentally-friendly and sustainable lighting choice that relies on solar power. The top of the wind chime is equipped with a solar panel and requires six to eight hours of light during the day to charge up. The lights will automatically turn on at dusk and glow for up to 10 hours. Many shoppers noted that the solar panel charges really well even on gloomy and rainy days!

'The Devil Wears Prada 2' Ending Just Blew Everything Up—Here’s the Betrayal No One Saw Coming

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 11:00am

Cue Madonna's "Vogue" because Miranda Priestly is back! Yes, Meryl Streep again straps into the designer shoes of the fashion world's most fearsome editrix in the long-awaited movie event The Devil Wears Prada 2. The sequel finds the head of Runway magazine—joined by returning characters Andy Sachs (Anne Hathaway), Nigel Kipling (Stanley Tucci) and Emily Charlton (Emily Blunt)—reluctantly navigating an ever-changing media landscape, one dominated by social-media virality, never-ending budget cuts and power-hungry tech bros.

Since leaving Runway, Andy has spent the past two decades building her career as a critically acclaimed investigative journalist. But when she and her newspaper team are hit with mass layoffs, Andy unexpectedly gets pulled back into the Runway vortex, much to Miranda's chagrin. She also reunites with Blunt's sidesplitting scene-stealer Emily—now a high-powered senior executive at Dior—and they'll have to work together to keep those glossy pages of Runway filled and published.

With The Devil Wears Prada 2's release date coming on Friday, May 1, here's everything that happens to Miranda, Andy, Emily, Nigel and everyone else you know and love (and maybe fear) in the fashion-focused sequel.

The Devil Wears Prada 2 Ending ExplainedWho betrays Miranda in The Devil Wears Prada 2?

After Runway chairman Ira Ravitz (Tibor Feldman) dies, his son Jay (B.J. Novak) takes over and wants to gut the place, threatening major staff cuts and slashing the budget on the luxury publication. (Seriously, Miranda Priestly flying in coach? We never thought we'd see the day!) Desperate to save the integrity of the magazine and its team, Andy enlists the help of Emily and her billionaire boyfriend Benji Barnes (Justin Theroux) to come in as a white knight and buy the publication.

When Benji agrees, the women excitedly bring the news to Miranda, only for her to reveal the real motive behind Emily's seemingly altruistic aid: She wants Benji to buy out the magazine from under Miranda so that she herself can run it, a vengeful act after Miranda pushed her out of Runway and over to Dior all those years ago. Devastated by Emily's deception, Miranda snaps at her former assistant: "You're not a visionary, you're a vendor." Way harsh, Tai.

What happens to Stanley Tucci's Nigel in The Devil Wears Prada 2?

Of course, despite all that behind-the-scenes drama, the fashion show must go on. However, while in Milan with Andy, Nigel and the Runway team, Miranda has to rush away from a key event due to the whole Emily fiasco, despite having to give an important speech. With a gentle nudge from Andy—who reminds the editor that maybe she's been taking advantage of her right-hand man for decades—Miranda asks Nigel to fill in for her on Runway's behalf, giving a much-deserved global spotlight to the publication's trusty art director. Consider it penance for Miranda's ruthless betrayal of Nigel back in the first film!

Further proving his professional bona fides, it's later revealed that it was Nigel all along who had originally texted Ira Ravitz to bring Andy back into the Runway fold to help right the magazine's wrongs.

Does Andy break up with her boyfriend in The Devil Wears Prada 2?

Emily's deception carries into Andy's personal life—especially when it comes to her newfound romance with dashing Aussie contractor Peter, played by Patrick Brammall. (Andy's ex Nate—portrayed by Adrian Grenier in the first movie—is nowhere to be seen in the sequel.) While the couple decides to take a bit of a breather during Andy's Italy trip with Runway, she returns committed to making their relationship work, telling him that she wants to be "imperfect together."

Does Emily take over 'Runway' in The Devil Wears Prada 2?

No. While the fashion-loving Brit is busy dreaming up cover ideas for the future Runway, Miranda and Andy are scheming behind the scenes to track down an alternate buyer to acquire the magazine from Jay Ravitz. The women find their answer in the form of Sasha Barnes (Lucy Liu), Benji's ex-wife and a billionaire philanthropist whom Andy profiled in a viral article earlier in the film.

With her editor-in-chief dreams dashed, Emily later meets up with Andy for lunch to apologize for blindsiding her. She reveals that Benji broke up with her (the bleach-blonde dye job should have been a clue) and she's now working at Coach, a considerably less chic post than the Dior gig. But she also shares that she does want to be friends with Andy, who reminds her that she's iconic and doesn't need a man to do something big with her life.

Does Miranda fire Andy from 'Runway'?

No, with Runway officially saved, Miranda decides to keep Andy on to help oversee things at the magazine. She also gives her permission to continue with the book proposal she's been secretly discussing with her publishing friend Tessa (Rachel Bloom), a potential $350,000 deal for a tell-all on Miranda. Priestly tells her to publish it all, especially the juicy parts, because people "should know there's a cost" to the kind of career she's built for herself.

Will there be a Devil Wears Prada 3?

There has been no announcement about a third installment in The Devil Wears Prada franchise, but the cast has publicly expressed interest in keeping the Runway story going.

During an April 20 appearance on Andy Cohen's radio show—SiriusXM’s Radio Andy—Streep, Hathaway, Blunt and Tucci discussed a possible third film in “5, 10, 15 years.” Blunt quipped to Tucci—who's also her brother-in-law—“Don’t say ‘I’ll be dead,’ you mustn't make that joke!" He cheekily replied, "I'll be infirmed."

That same day, Blunt told E! Newsthat she wished her character and Nigel had more overlap onscreen in The Devil Wears Prada 2. "Stan and I were so angry that they didn't give us more to do together," she shared. "If we do another one, they better have us joined at the hip."

Kool-Aid Ventures Into New Territory With First-of-Its-Kind Drink Mix

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:59am

Kool-Aid has long been synonymous with sweet drink mixes, echoing memories of our youth as the drink of choice on summer days spent running through sprinklers.

But now, the brand is venturing into entirely new territory that targets both younger consumers and millennials who grew up with it.

The brand, owned by the Kraft-Heinz company, is releasing a first-of-its-kind drink mix that will help keep you hydrated.

Mixing nostalgia with innovation, the drink mix has been a staple on shelves for decades, now cementing its spot in the modern hydration conversation.

The Kool-Aid hydration mixes are heading to stores now in three flavors that'll have you reminiscing over your childhood—Grape, Tropical Punch, and Blue Raspberry Lemonade.

Unlike the traditional mixes, the new ones are formulated with "4 essential electrolytes, which the back of the box defines as sodium, potassium, magnesium, and calcium," according to Candy Hunting's Instagram account, which spotted them at Hy-Vee already.

"Our powdered drink mix singles bring bold flavor to hydration and are designed to help you stay refreshed and replenished," the description on the website notes.

The box also highlights that the mixes are sugar-free and contain no artificial flavors, which caters to a growing demand for better-for-you beverages that don't sacrifice flavor or "break the bank."

It's also coming at a time when the demand for drink mixes is rising due to convenience and portability.

Kool-Aid's latest offering is in competition with those already dominating the space, including Liquid I.V., which is constantly rolling out innovative flavors, my personal favorite, Taste Salud, and Nuun tablets, which offer "powerful hydration."

Other brands have expanded offerings in the space recently, including Gatorade's recent Hydration Booster Relax, launched to aid in rest and recovery.

Kool-Aid packets will be getting another makeover by the end of 2027, as Kraft Heinz previously announced that it will remove FD&C artificial dyes from its products, including Crystal Light, Kool-Aid, MiO, Jell-O and Jet-Puffed.

‘Crocodile Dundee’ Beauty Linda Kozlowski Is a Gorgeous Brunette at 68, but We Barely Recognized Her

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:55am

Linda Kozlowski rose to stardom in Crocodile Dundee, but forty years later, we barely recognized her!

Kozlowski, 68, tackled the role of Sue Charlton, the journalist who travels to rural Australia to meet Michael "Crocodile" Dundee, played by the legendary Paul Hogan. The 1986 film became a fan favorite back in the '80s, and spawned a series of sequels, including Crocodile Dundee II and Crocodile Dundee in Los Angeles. But Kozlowski ultimately decided to step back from the spotlight of Hollywood, and she looks completely different these days. Now a brunette stunner, the beauty keeps up with her followers on her Instagram account.

View this post on Instagram Did Linda Kozlowski Marry Paul Hogan?

Yes! After starring with Hogan in the first beloved film, the duo married in 1990. They have one son together. However, the couple ultimately divorced in 2014.

Why Did Linda Kozlowski Quit Acting?

Kozlowski wasn't finding the fulfillment she desired in the acting world, and ultimately chose to say goodbye to Tinseltown. In 2001, she told the Scripps Howard News Service that the projects she was being offered weren't giving her what she needed.

"These straight-to-video schlocky films I was getting were giving me an ulcer, basically because I was the only one on the set that cared about anything," Kozlowski shared. "I'd say, 'Well, this scene doesn't make sense.' [They would say,] 'Aw, so what, just say the lines.' [And] I thought, 'This isn't fun anymore. This is not why I studied, it's not what I love.' Between that and my biological clock, I decided to give it all away."

According to HELLO!, she now runs a Morocco-based tour company with her husband, called Dream My Destiny.

The Memorable Crocodile Attack Scene

One of the most memorable scenes of Kozlowski's from the original film is when her character is seen attempting to refill her canteen as Dundee watches lovingly from a distance. Unfortunately, a crocodile jumps out of the water and catches the canteen in its mouth, nearly strangling her until Dundee saves the day. Who could forget that iconic '80s moment?

Scientists Capture Mysterious Green Lights in Hawaiian Sunset Sky, and They're Totally Stumped

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:39am

Hawaii is no stranger to dramatic sunsets. The islands seem almost designed for them. Lava shaped coastlines, wide Pacific horizons, and skies that glow orange and pink in slow motion every evening. But recently, something stranger appeared in that familiar scene.

A resident filming a sunset near Kailua Kona on Hawaii’s Big Island captured unusual green lights shimmering in the sky above the ocean. When the footage was reviewed later, faint emerald streaks appeared dancing through the red evening glow. Astronomers and sky watchers have since been trying to explain what exactly happened.

Don't miss a beat—subscribe now for trending travel updates and destination guides.

Why the Green Lights Over Hawaii Are Not the Northern Lights

Auroras such as the aurora borealis or aurora australis occur when charged particles from the sun collide with gases in Earth’s upper atmosphere. These collisions produce glowing curtains of color that ripple across the sky. They typically appear in polar regions such as Alaska, Canada, Scandinavia, or Antarctica, where Earth’s magnetic field funnels solar particles toward the poles.

Hawaii sits far south of the regions where auroras typically appear. The Northern Lights form in oval-shaped zones around Earth’s magnetic poles, where charged particles from the sun are guided by the planet’s magnetic field into the atmosphere. These displays are usually visible at high latitudes such as Alaska, Canada, and Scandinavia. Hawaii, located close to the equator and far outside the typical auroral zone, almost never experiences visible auroras, making the Kona sighting particularly unusual and unlikely to be a classic northern lights display.

A Possible Explanation: The Famous “Green Flash” Phenomenon

Hawaii may actually be one of the best places on Earth to see a strange optical trick known as the green flash.

The green flash occurs when sunlight bends through Earth’s atmosphere near the horizon. The atmosphere acts like a prism, separating white sunlight into different colors. As the sun dips below the ocean horizon, green wavelengths can briefly appear as the last visible color.

Standing on a Hawaiian beach, you can imagine how the conditions might align perfectly. Clear ocean horizons. Stable air layers. Long unobstructed sunsets. All ingredients that can amplify the effect.

Adventure starts with a click—sign up for our newsletter for travel tips and stories.

Another Possibility: Meteor Dust or Space Debris

Astronomers studying similar sightings often look toward space rocks. When small meteors burn through Earth’s atmosphere, they can glow green due to the chemical composition of the rock. Elements such as magnesium and nickel emit bright green light when heated during atmospheric entry.

These “green fireballs” sometimes appear unexpectedly and vanish in seconds. That theory could explain why the Kona lights appeared as streaks rather than a single flash. A fragment entering the atmosphere at an angle could produce a faint green trail against the sunset sky.

Events like this happen more often than travelers realize. Most meteors are no larger than a pebble or small stone before they burn up high above the planet.

How Travelers Can Experience Hawaii’s Most Magical Skies

If you visit Hawaii hoping to catch strange lights of your own, timing and location matter. Sunset beaches on the west side of the islands offer the clearest horizon views. Kona, Waikoloa, and parts of Maui provide wide-open Pacific sightlines where atmospheric effects are easier to see.

Patience helps too. The green flash phenomenon can appear suddenly and disappear in an instant. Travelers sometimes spend several evenings watching sunsets before finally catching the brief emerald flicker.

Nightfall offers another reward. Once the sky darkens, the Milky Way often spreads overhead like spilled silver across the ocean sky. You might not see mysterious green streaks like the ones scientists are still debating. But the Hawaiian sky rarely disappoints.

Costco Shoppers Say 'Immersive' Store Experience Has This Major Drawback

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:31am

Welcome to the big leagues, grocery shoppers.

At least, that's the vibe that longstanding members seem to convey to those less confident shoppers at your neighborhood Costco.

In a beloved warehouse where you must cough up some money just to step inside and browse, does that mean you're then allowed to act all entitled? According to a recent Reddit thread, apparently so.

"It feels like everyone thinks that because they paid a membership fee they’re all uniquely privileged," wrote one user, while another Redditor commented, "What I’ve noticed is that Costco shoppers are the rudest, most entitled people I’ve dealt with in a retail setting."

That's not always the case, of course, and other shoppers report in the same thread that their experience at Costco has been nothing but positive. It's true that with any popular and iconic chain comes the inevitable airing of grievances.

And what could be lying beneath the issue of the noticeably stuck-up customers around you is perhaps the real root cause — something USA Today calls "Mad Max but with shopping carts."

“Costco is a very hectic store. Part of this is because it is so popular. Part of it is because it’s a store where people shop quite intensely – exploring different categories, buying in bulk and stopping to sample things,” Neil Saunders, managing director of GlobalData Retail, told USA Today.

The internet calls the condition that afflicts some Costco shoppers “cart tunnel vision,” meaning they lose all situational and spatial awareness. On the above-mentioned Reddit thread, one person coined the term “meanderthals” because “you can't tell where they're going and neither can they.”

"Don't get me started on the sample table traffic jams," said another user.

Then there are the minor collisions these distracted habits routinely cause. These run-ins dubbed "bumper carts" are so common that warehouse employees joke Costco lubricates the shopping cart wheels with ankle skin, USA Today also noted on Tuesday, April 28.

George Clooney Shares His Children Are 'Slowly Figuring Out' He's an Actor

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:29am

George Clooney's twins are slowly learning what their dad does for work.

In an exclusive interview with People at the 51st Chaplin Award Gala, Clooney opened up about revisiting his old films and which ones he watches with twins Alexander and Ella, 8.

"It's a weird thing. As you get older, it's hard to watch movies when you were younger because you're like, holy s**t, that doesn't even look like me anymore. I find that I'm watching, because I've got 8-year-olds, Fantastic Mr. Fox, which is a little easier because it's not really me, it's just my voice," he said.

Clooney then shared what it's like watching his old films with his children as they figure out he's an actor.

"That's kind of fun because the kids are slowly figuring out what I do for a living, you know?" he said. "But the rest of it, I find it, it's easier ... Listen, it's hard because I tend to not want to look back. But, now that I'm gonna be 65 in a week, looking forward's a lot shorter view, you know what I mean? So, you know, maybe I'll look back later."

Clooney welcomed his two children with wife Amal Clooneyin June 2017. Clooney had also talked about his family at the gala with Extra, saying he gets "messed up" celebrating two Mother's Days since living in Europe.

"No, because in Europe, Mother's Day is like a month earlier, so you get messed up. You got like two Mother's Days," he said. "It's a lot of work."

When asked if celebrates both, Clooney replied,  "Yeah, I have to."

1999 ‘The Sopranos’ Episode Ranked No.1 of the Entire Series—and Among the Greatest of All Time

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:28am

The Sopranosbecame one of the most influential shows ever to air on TV, redefining the mob genre with a fresh, psychological edge. Over its six-season run following its 1999 debut, one episode stood out and is widely ranked by multiple outlets as not only the best of the series, but among the greatest episodes in TV history.

The HBO series cemented itself early on with its Season 1 episode "College," written by co-producer James Manos Jr. and series creator and executive producer David Chase. Fans watched as Tony Soprano's (James Gandolfini) two worlds collide as a mob boss and father while on a trip with his daughter. The episode B-story also yielded to themes of trust and treachery as Carmela Soprano (Edie Falco) faces temptation and the reality of her husband's profession.

Rolling Stone ranked "College" at No. 4 on their list of the "Best TV Episodes of All Time," with Entertainment Weekly ranking the episode at No. 1 as the best of the entire series. They tagged it as being "the single most influential television episode ever made" and how "the Tony-Meadow plot captures the tension between the two lives Tony leads."

"College" follows Tony on a road trip with his daughter, Meadow (Jamie-Lynn Sigler), as she visits colleges in Maine. During their trip, Meadow decided to confront her father and ask if he's in the Mafia. While denying it right away, Tony admits that some of his income is from illegal gambling and other businesses. Meadow, having always suspected the truth, doesn't believe him and admits in a moment of trust to having taken methamphetamine to study. Tony is angered but realizes they are having a real, honest conversation.

The episode takes a turn when Tony spots a former mob associate turned rat who was put under witness protection. It's in this moment that Tony reverts to his mob boss mentality and stalks the man, beats him, and ultimately murders him for the fun of it. Meanwhile, Carmela's side story caught intrigue as she battles with temptation as Father Phil (Paul Schulz) spends the night at her home. Their time together pushes Carmela to face her qualms about Tony's mob life.

Critics praised the episode's ability to blend every aspect of the show's world so seamlessly that it feels natural. Others applauded the episode, portraying feelings of family and peace that remain far from Tony's grasp.

The Sopranos episode led Manos and Chase to win an Emmy for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series, with Flaco receiving her first Emmy nomination and win for Outstanding Lead Actress.

This 1976 ‘Ode to Lost Love’ Just Hit 50 Million Streams — and Its Meaning Is Timeless

Wed, 04/29/2026 - 10:27am

We could go on and on about the smooth airy tenor on display in Stephen Bishop’s 1976 bittersweet hit. So we will. Warm and intimate, he sounds like he’s singing “On and On” only to us. Except he’s not. The classic song just hit 50 million streams on Spotify, a stunning milestone that proves this ode to lost love is as timeless as listening to soft rock on a boat.

With younger generations discovering the softer side of rock, we’re in the middle of a yacht rock revival. They’re catching on to what we already know: Comfort music makes everything better. The world is falling apart? It’s nothing a little soft rock nostalgia can’t fix. A flagship artist of the subgenre, Bishop is comfort listening at its finest, and we love to see this classic hit's resurgence.

View this post on Instagram

Bishop’s claim to fame goes beyond the stage. He was also in the 1987 film Animal House. In addition to singing the theme song, “Animal House,” and another track, “Dream Girl,” Bishop makes a cameo as the musician whose guitar gets smashed by John Belushi’s Bluto at a toga party. It’s a music-to-film connection moment for the pop culture history books.

A breezy yacht rock tune about Lonesome Sue, the resilience of heartbreak, and smiling through the pain, “On and On” was written by Bishop himself, though not from personal experience. He told Songfacts in an interview that he really just writes from song titles, and the idea for this particular song struck him while he was out running errands.

“I was walking down to the corner grocery store in Silverlake where I was living at the time and I came up with the idea of ‘On and On,’” he said. “My landlady had a lot of exotic flowers all around the house and I wanted to write something from somewhere else, like Jamaica.”

The single was released on his debut album, Careless, peaking at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100. It ended up being his biggest hit. As a songwriter, Bishop hit No. 1 with his heartbreak anthem, “Separate Lives,” performed by Phil Collins and Marilyn Martin for the film White Nights. That one was inspired by Bishop's personal life, namely his breakup with Raiders of the Lost Ark’s Karen Allen.

Today, Bishop is still going strong, even leaving the comforts of retirement for another go at the spotlight. The news was met with an overwhelmingly positive response from his fans. Just further proof that as we all try and keep up in this fast-paced digital world dominated by streams and viral hits, sometimes we just need to take a beat and go “On and On.”
