Billy Joel Delights Fans With Debut Performance of His First New Song in 17 Years on the Grammys Stage

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 10:51pm

Billy Joel graced the stage at the 2024 Grammy Awards, and his touching performance was surely one to remember.

The legendary musician played the award show audience his brand new song "Turn the Lights Back On," the first original track he's released in 17 years.

Joel, 74, performed the love ballad—which dropped just days prior on Thursday, Feb. 1—on the piano, tugging on fans' heartstrings with the sentimental tune.

The song marks Joel's first new material since 2007, when he released "All My Life" and "Christmas in Fallujah," both sung by Cass Dillon

Shortly after the release of his 1993 studio album River of Dreams, Joel retired from songwriting, a decision he made because, "I couldn't be as good as I wanted and that was driving me crazy," he told Vulture in 2018.

"I thought, 'This is ridiculous.' So I stopped," he added at the time.

But now, over 30 years since that album came out, Joel has released a brand new track that contains a special message to his loyal fans who have long waited for more of his original work.

"I'm late, but I’m here right now and I’m trying to find the magic that we lost somehow," he sings in the song's chorus. "Maybe I was blind, but I see you now as we’re laying here in the darkness. Did I wait too long to turn the lights back on?"

Fans watching the Grammys clearly thought it wasn't too late for Joel, as tons of people sang his praises online after the emotional performance.

Billy Joel reminding the Grammys what truly amazing songwriting sounds like. #grammys #BillyJoel

— Skeller85 (@bonner_jef59328) February 5, 2024

"This is a hell of a song from Billy Joel," one user wrote, as another echoed, "I’m all in on new Billy Joel and i don’t even care."

Someone else called it a "beautiful comeback song," as a fan exclaimed that they enjoyed that the "new" music sounded like his old stuff.

I hadn't listened to the new Billy Joel until now, but it's really good. A beautiful comeback song, and a perfect tribute to his career. #GRAMMYs

— 🏴‍☠️ Kaija 🏴‍☠️ (@mother_fickle) February 5, 2024

For the last 3 hours I’ve been like, ok I don’t want to hear a NEW Billy Joel song, I want to hear the old ones. But I like how this new one sounds like an old one.

As host Trevor Noah noted, the wait was truly worth it as the piano man closed out the 66th Annual Grammy Awards—which included Joni Mitchell, U2, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, Luke Combs, Olivia Rodrigo, SZA, Travis Scott and Burna Boy—with a second electrifying performance.

The Highs, Lows and Wildest Moments From the 2024 Grammy Awards

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 10:45pm

Music's biggest night has finally arrived! It's time for the 2024 Grammy Awards, honoring the best best music from 2024. And while the Recording Academy passes out upwards of 90 Grammys each year (and there was a tie in one category this year, so that's one extra), less than a dozen get passed out live on air. So what fills up the 3.5-hour-long telecast? Well, performances of course! The Grammys are basically just one massive concert with some of the biggest names in music performing their hits from 2023.

The evening, hosted by Trevor Noah, included impassioned winner speeches, entertaining jokes, and jaw-dropping red carpet looks. Of course, there were also plenty of weird, wild and unexpected things that happened as well.

Here's a rundown of all the evening's biggest, most memorable moments:

The highs, lows and wildest moments that happened at the 2024 Grammy Awards

Dua Lipa opens the 66th Annual #Grammys pic.twitter.com/7OflMoXw0c

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 High: Dua Lipa opens the show with new single "Training Season"

To start the 2024 Grammys off on a high note, Dua Lipa performed her unreleased single "Training Season" along with a cube of scaffolding and leather-clad male dancers. She then strutted to the stage where she regaled fans with "Houdini" and performed some impressive choreo if I do say so myself.

Low: "Crypto.com Arena"

Of all the branded stadium names in the world, the Crypto.com Arena has to be among the most cumbersome. As the announcer reminded audiences, this year's Grammys were hosted there.

Whoa: Meryl Streep is late and is Mark Ronson's mother-in-law

In his opening monologue, host Trevor Noah let the audience know that Meryl Streep would be arriving to the show shortly and that she is, in fact, Mark Ronson's mother-in-law, since he's married to her daughter Grace Gummer

Low: Taylor Swift walks in during the middle of Trevor Noah's opening

Apparently most of the high-profile stars at the Grammys showed up late, leading to a fairly clunky opening monologue where Noah kept referencing individuals who would be arriving later. One such guest was Taylor Swift, who walked into the event with her massive entourage as Noah was talking.

Tracy Chapman, who has not performed in public in years, performs "Fast Car" with Luke Combs at the #Grammys: pic.twitter.com/VJg3knUYuV

— philip lewis (@Phil_Lewis_) February 5, 2024 High: Tracy Chapman performs "Fast Car" for the first time in years

In a coup for the Grammys, Tracy Chapman, who originally wrote and recorded "Fast Car" but hasn't performed the song publicly since her last tour in 2009, took to the stage for a duet with Luke Combs. Combs covered the song for his latest album and was nominated for a Grammy for his performance.

SZA performs "Kill Bill" at the 2024 #Grammys pic.twitter.com/kLO7G1Tuhb

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 Whoa: SZA's performance includes sword-fighting.

SZA's "Kill Bill" performance at the Grammys included plenty of sword-wielding martial artists as backup dancers. One even climbed on a table and whipped a katana above Phoebe Bridgers' head.

"Why are you acting like you don't know this song?" - Miley Cyrus during her performance of "Flowers" at the 2024 #Grammys pic.twitter.com/t5JaasB8C0

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 Whoa: Miley Cyrus calls out the audience for not being more into "Flowers"

After winning her first Grammy for "Flowers" for Best Pop Solo Performance, Cyrus took to the stage to perform the song. However, during the first chorus, Cyrus shouted at the crowd, "Why are you acting like you don't know this song?" calling out the audience for not being a little too chill. Later in the performance, however, Kylie Minogue, Taylor Swift and Oprah all seemed very into the performance.

High: Kacey Musgraves announces her fifth album with a commercial

If you went to the bathroom during the commercial breaks, you might have missed some announcements, one of which was for the upcoming Kacey Musgraves album. After a short trailer of images, we hear Kacey sing, "My Saturn has returned," before referring fans to her website, which has been updated with "KM5" merch.

Whoa: SZA is late to collect her Grammy because she was taking a shot

When Lizzo announced SZA had won Best R&B Song for her hit "Snooze," the room stood to applause but SZA was nowhere to be found. She then erupted from back stage where she emotionally claimed her trophy and said she was backstage taking a shot.

U2 Performs at the Sphere in Las Vegas during the 2024 #Grammys pic.twitter.com/JV6I6YskaT

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 Low: Another ad for the Sphere in the form of a U2 performance

Las Vegas's new massive concert venue, the Sphere, has notoriously been losing massive amounts of money since it opened. The venue's latest attempt to draw in fans seems to be securing prime placement on the Grammys, with U2 recording a performance from the new venue that was streamed into the LA-based awards show before presenting the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album.

Taylor Swift wins her 13th Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Album at the 16th Annual #Grammys pic.twitter.com/u2tHGRLn0w

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 Whoa: Taylor Swift announces a new album

After winning her 13th Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album for her latest album Midnights, Taylor Swift announced that her next album, titled The Tortured Poets Department would be released on April 19, stunning many fans who had assumed that a recent change in her Instagram profile photo was signaling Reputation (Taylor's Version)

Fantasia Barrino performs Tina Turner's song "Rolling On The River" at the 2024 #Grammys pic.twitter.com/sQdrDGJ1IQ

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 High: Fantasia Barrino's tribute to Tina Turner

To close out a (long, somewhat disjoined) in memoriam section, Fantasia Barrino performed Tina Turner's "Proud Mary" as a tribute to the late musician. Oprah Winfrey introduced the Color Purple star and Barrino pulled out all the stops dancing through the crowd

High: Jay-Z calls out the Recording Academy for not giving Beyoncé Album of the Year

While neither Jay-Z nor Beyoncé were eligible for competitive awards this year, the pair appeared at the Grammys because Jay-Z had been awarded the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award. In his speech, he called out the Academy for some of their injustices over the year. One in particular that he highlighted was the fact that Beyoncé, who is the most awarded artists of all time with 32 Grammys, has never won Album of the Year. Instead, Bey has won many of her Grammys in genre categories where the Academy feels more comfortable honoring minority artists.

Joni Mitchell performs at the 2024 #GrammyAwards pic.twitter.com/reHS0khwGg

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 High: 80-year-old Joni Mitchell performs

Living legend Joni Mitchell, who won a Grammy of her own today, performed her iconic "Both Sides Now" at the Grammys, taking the stage for the first time in her career.

Low: The Recording Academy CEO's monologue

Well into the third hour of the telecast, the Recording Academy's CEO Harvey Mason Jr. took to the stage to deliver a long-winded monologue about the power of music to bring people together. While a lovely sentiment, the prepared remarks were a bit pat and cumbersome.

Whoa: Taylor Swift gives Jack Antonoff a noogie

Not much more to say on that.

Mark Ronson presents with his mother-in-law Meryl Streep at the 2024 #Grammys pic.twitter.com/mueXlmJarX

— The Hollywood Reporter (@THR) February 5, 2024 High: Meryl Streep and Mark Ronson are the cutest duo ever

The pair presented the Record of the Year Grammy and their opening gambit confusing Album, Record and Song of the Year was so sweet. Who wouldn't love to have Meryl Streep kiss you on the cheek?

Whoa: Celine Dion shows up to present Album of the Year

In a very chic coat it must be said.

High, Low or Whoa (depending on who you ask): Taylor Swift wins a fourth Album of the Year Grammy

Swift, who has previously won the award three times for Fearless, 1989 and Folklore beat out an impressive lineup of talented musicians to win the prestigious award for a record-breaking fourth time. While her fans are undoubtedly thrilled, others are frustrated that Swift keeps getting recognition in this category while minority artists struggle to clinch the night's top prize.

Low: The runtime

With most awards shows trying to cut down the runtime, the Grammys opted for a bloated 3.5-hour-long telecast that was full of unnecessary filler, especially considering that only nine actual awards were presented on air. The definition of "this could have been an email," or at least 1.5 hours shorter.

2024 Complete Grammys Winners and Nominees

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 10:30pm

The 2024 Grammys have arrived and this year's winners are being crowned.

The Recording Academy's 66th annual Grammy Awards is being broadcast live on CBS on Sunday, Feb. 4.

This year's ceremony will feature three new categories to honor music's best and brightest—and some categories will be moved from specialized to general fields, allowing more Academy members to vote for them.

"By introducing these three new Categories, we are able to acknowledge and appreciate a broader array of artists—and relocating the Producer Of the Year and Songwriter Of The Year Categories to the General Field ensures that all our voters can participate in recognizing excellence in these fields," Harvey Mason Jr., CEO of the Recording Academy, said in a statement. "We are excited to honor and celebrate the creators and recordings in these Categories, while also exposing a wider range of music to fans worldwide."

Taylor Swift Isn't Letting Herself Get Caught By Lip Readers at the Grammys

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 10:19pm

Taylor Swift came well-prepared for the Grammy Awards this year.

The pop superstar wasn't going to let lip readers in on any of her award show chatter at the ceremony on Sunday, Feb. 4, especially after her viral gossip session with bestie Selena Gomez during the 2024 Golden Globes.

Swift, 34, had the perfect accessory to keep the same thing from happening at the Grammys, as she topped off her classic black and white look with a black folding fan.

The "Anti-Hero" singer put the fan to perfect use during the ceremony, and she was captured whispering to collaborator Jack Antonoff with the fan covering her mouth.

Taylor’s not letting anyone read her lips tonight 💀 pic.twitter.com/Uwcj4skzpu

— Tayvis Nation 🏈🫶🏻 (@tayvisnation) February 5, 2024

Fans online called Swift "smart" and "iconic" for the genius idea, while others found it incredibly amusing. "She's always full of tricks," one user on X (formerly Twitter) wrote.

"No lip reading here!" echoed another, while someone else dubbed the accessory the "Look what you made me do fan!"

Others joked that she might have learned the idea from her time watching NFL games, as many coaches, including the Kansas City Chiefs' Andy Reid, often cover their faces when calling out plays.

— John (@johnnyr1111) February 5, 2024

"Ahh yes, a classic page pulled from the sports playbook," one fan quipped

We know that Swift has been spending plenty of time in the stands at various football stadiums over the past few months to support boyfriend Travis Kelce, who is now headed for the Super Bowl.

The Chiefs will be taking on the San Francisco 49ers at Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, Feb. 11, and fans are hoping that Swift will show up, despite having a concert in Tokyo the night before.

But thanks to the time difference, Swift should have plenty of time to travel to Las Vegas for the game—even the Japanese Embassy has said so!

How Miley Cyrus Channeled Taylor Swift After Winning Her First Grammy

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 10:03pm

Miley Cyrus took home her first-ever Grammy during the 66th annual broadcast, earning Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit single "Flowers."

She took to the stage shortly after to perform the award-winning track, and while celebrating the impressive accomplishment, the Disney Channel alum seemed to channel Taylor Swift, reminding us of the "Anti-Hero" singer's own post-win performance of her Grammy-winning track "Mean" at the 2012 Grammy Awards.

Cyrus improvised during her performance, singing the lyrics, "...started to cry, then remembered I..." before shouting out, "just won my first Grammy!" instead of "can buy myself flowers." She jumped in celebration during the following music break as Swift raised a glass to her from her place in the crowd.

— The Eras Tour (@tswifterastour) February 5, 2024

It immediately reminded us of Swift's performance from twelve years ago, when she changed the lyrics to the Best Country Solo Performance and Best Country Song-winning single, which is suspected to have been written about music critic and analyst Bob Lefsetz, who suggested she'd "kill[ed] her career overnight" after one off performance at 20 years old, adding that she was "too young and dumb to understand" it.

She took it one step further after the track racked up two Grammys in one night, changing the lyrics from "...but someday I'll be living in a big old city..." to "...but someday I'll be singing this at the Grammys..." as the audience cheered.

While admittedly different messages, both deviations were pure moments of triumphant joy in times where it can be hard to come by, and we loved being taken back to Swift's moment from over a decade ago tonight as Cyrus marked such a momentous occasion in her own career.

Fans Can’t Get Enough of Jason and Travis Kelce’s Playful Nickname for Kylie

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 9:23pm

Fans of what has, perhaps, become the NFL’s most popular family are loving the nickname that Travis Kelce gifted his sister-in-law Kylie.

“Princess Kyana” is a nickname that first popped up for Jason Kelce’s wife last November during an episode of New Heights, the podcast that the Philadelphia Eagles center and Travis host together. As reported by Today, the nickname has continued to generate fan interest on social media over the last few months.

At the time, Travis, a tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs, first jokingly uttered the nickname, the brothers were discussing a special Philadelphia Eagles varsity jacket that Kylie had signed and modeled. The jacket was inspired by a similar Eagles jacket that Princess Diana was once photographed wearing.

The Eagles Autism Foundation was in the process of auctioning off the newer version modeled by Kylie as the brothers discussed it on New Heights.

In an apparent attempt to merge Princess Diana’s name with Kylie’s, Travis first referred to his sister-in-law as “Princess Kylie.” He then thought of a name that made both him and his brother laugh.

“Princess Kyana!” Travis exclaimed.

The nickname appeared again about a month later on another New Heights recording that featured a guest appearance by Kylie. Travis chuckled as he introduced “the greatest guest ever,” naming her the “Queen of the North” and the “Duchess of Delco” before landing on what appeared to be his favorite nickname: “Princess Kyana.”

In the podcast’s video recording, Kylie could be seen laughing and shaking her head at Travis’ introduction. “You guys are so mean,” she said.

Fans of the Kelce family no longer need their reminders from New Heights to keep the “Princess Kyana” nickname around. After Kylie and Jason met Travis’ girlfriend, pop star Taylor Swift, for the first time last month, some fans included mention of “Princess Kyana” in photos they later shared of Swift spending time with the Kelce family on social media.

One fan dubbed them both princesses, tweeting, “omg tayprincess and princess kyana.”

"Taylor/Princess Kyana supremacy,” another fan tweeted alongside a video of the two cheering together at a Chiefs game.

“Princess kyana deserves a key to the city of Cincinnati,” another fan declared on X.

Needless to say, fans will be keeping this moniker around.

Is Joni Mitchell Still Sick?

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 9:20pm

Joni Mitchell is one of the most decorated singer-songwriters that has ever lived. Her career has spanned 60 years, from small nightclubs in Saskatoon in her native Canada to being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Unfortunately, the influential singer has faced a few serious health conditions throughout her life, too, including during her childhood. Fans are worried about how she is doing today, at the age of 80.

“I always think that polio was a rehearsal for the rest of my life,” Mitchell explained in a 2021 speech, referencing the bout of polio she faced at 9 years old. “I’ve had to come back several times from things. And this last one was a real whopper. But, you know, I’m hobbling along but I’m doing all right!”

Read on to learn what health issues Joni Mitchell has dealt with over the years—and to get her current health status (at least as we know it).

Is Joni Mitchell sick?

As of this writing, Joni Mitchell is believed to be in relatively good health. She seemed to be doing well in March 2023, for instance, when she made a public appearance as the 2023 honoree of the Gershwin Prize, given by the Library of Congress each year to honor an artist’s contribution to popular music over their career. Mitchell was in good spirits and walking with just the help of a cane when she accepted the honor. She will also be performing at the Grammys for the first time in her career, on Feb. 4, 2024.

However, the “Help Me” singer has seen her fair share of health issues throughout her life. She first faced a major blow to her health when she was just 9 and came down with polio.

“I had polio at the age of 9. My spine was twisted up like a train wreck. I couldn't walk. I was paralyzed. Forty years later, it comes back with a vengeance,” Mitchell explained in 1995, referencing the fact that, like 60 percent of polio patients, she was experiencing post-polio syndrome. “It's like multiple sclerosis. It means your electrical system burns out and your muscles begin to atrophy. It means impending paraplegia. I have to guard my energy. Just like the bunnies in those battery commercials. I'm the one that's about to keel over. I'm not the one that's going and going."

Polio is caused by a virus. It mainly impacts the nerves in the spinal cord and/or the brain stem. In severe cases, it can cause paralysis and even death.

Another recurrent health issue that Mitchell has had to battle is the little-known skin condition Morgellons disease. Those with the issue report feeling as if something is stinging or crawling on their skin. Intense itching and sores can occur in connection with the disorder, in addition to a belief that fibers, threads or black stringy material are either in or on their skin. It can cause the sufferer to have difficulty concentrating and depression.

Some health care professionals believe it is indeed a skin condition of unknown causes, potentially due to an infectious process in the skin cells, however, others believe it is a delusional infestation that comes from the patient’s mind.

In 2010, Mitchell herself described her experience with the condition as, "... this weird, incurable disease that seems like it’s from outer space." She went on to say she has, "... fibers in a variety of colors protrude out of my skin like mushrooms after a rainstorm: they cannot be forensically identified as animal, vegetable or mineral."

Did Joni Mitchell have a brain tumor?

Joni Mitchell did not have a brain tumor. However, the singer-songwriter did have a brain aneurysm in 2015. On March 31, 2015, she was found unconscious and unresponsive in her home after suffering a brain aneurysm rupture. Her recovery from the incident was hard going, requiring her to undergo physical therapy and daily rehabilitation.

Did Joni Mitchell suffer a brain aneurysm?

Joni Mitchell did suffer a brain aneurysm rupture in 2015. The incident left her unable to both walk and talk for some time and required her to undergo physical therapy and daily rehabilitation.

Mitchell herself described her experience with the aneurysm in 2020. “Once again I couldn’t walk. I had to learn how again. I couldn’t talk. Polio didn’t grab me like that, but the aneurysm took away a lot more, really. Took away my speech and my ability to walk.”

She continued, “And, you know, I got my speech back quickly, but the walking I’m still struggling with. But I mean, I’m a fighter. I’ve got Irish blood! So you know, I knew, ‘Here I go again, another battle.'”

Has Joni Mitchell recovered from her aneurysm?

Joni Mitchell has faced a long road to recovery after enduring a brain aneurysm rupture in 2015. The rupture left Mitchell unable to walk or talk. She had to undergo rehabilitation and physical therapy to be able to recover both skill sets, in addition to re-learning how to play the guitar and other musical instruments. In recent years, the acclaimed singer has shown a massive improvement in her abilities, including performing a three-hour concert in June 2023 with only the assistance of a cane. Mitchell will be topping off her miraculous recovery with a performance at the 2024 Grammys—her first ever—on Feb. 4, 2024.

What kind of stroke did Joni Mitchell have?

In 2015, Joni Mitchell suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm, which is also referred to as a hemorrhagic stroke. A hemorrhagic stroke is different from a more traditional stroke, which is caused by clots in the arteries.

Mitchell had to undergo rehabilitation and physical therapy to regain much of her cognitive and physical abilities following her aneurysm. She recalled that time as, “a return to infancy.”

She re-taught herself how to play the guitar partially through viewing old videos of her performances, “to see where I put my fingers.”

Learning how to play the guitar in the first place was not easy for Mitchell, who suffered from a weakened left hand due to her childhood experience with polio.

Was Joni Mitchell in a coma?

After Joni Mitchell suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2015, it was falsely reported that the singer was in a coma. However, a representative for Mitchell, Allisse Kingsley, refuted that claim at the time.

“Contrary to rumors circulating on the internet today, Joni is not in a coma. Joni is still in the hospital—but she comprehends, she's alert, and she has her full sense. A full recovery is expected." She added, “As we all know, Joni is a strong-willed woman and is nowhere near giving up the fight. Please continue to keep Joni in your thoughts."

Was Joni Mitchell in a wheelchair?

Following her ruptured brain aneurysm in 2015, Joni Mitchell lost the ability to both walk and talk. For some time after this health scare, Mitchell was wheelchair-bound as she underwent rehabilitation and physical therapy to regain her cognitive and physical abilities. She made several public appearances in a wheelchair, like when she attended Elton John’s birthday party in 2017.

However, nowadays, the singer has been appearing in public without the assistance of a wheelchair. Mitchell demonstrated her miraculous recovery when she attended Martin Short’s daughter’s birthday party in December 2023, where she smiled for the cameras while walking with only the help of a cane.

What happened to Joni Mitchell's voice?

Joni Mitchell’s voice has been impacted by several factors over the years. In the mid-1990s, Mitchell suffered from post-polio syndrome after having battled polio as a child, and she felt her voice had changed later in life as a result of the recurrence.

In addition, the singer suffered another health issue when she endured a ruptured brain aneurysm in 2015, which necessitated her to relearn how to walk and talk. This challenge to her physical and cognitive abilities also caused a change in her voice.

Lastly, Mitchell’s voice has been impacted simply by the fact that she is aging and it is common for the voice to change as one grows older. She has been performing for around 60 years and turned 80 in 2023, so it would make sense that audiences have noticed a different sound from the singer over the course of her career.

In 2023, Mikael Wood of The LA Times noted the change in Mitchell’s voice at a recent performance. “Mitchell fans know that her voice has changed—has lowered and gotten grainier—since the high-and-pure days of Blue, but it's a gift to hear how much (more) emotional wisdom her singing has accrued as she nears 80.”

How Travis Kelce Really Feels About Taylor Swift Wearing the ‘TNT’ Bracelet He Gave Her

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 9:16pm

A short and sweet Instagram comment has revealed how Travis Kelce really feels about his girlfriend, Taylor Swift, wearing the eye-catching piece of jewelry he had designed especially for her.

The bracelet made its public debut last weekend as Swift attended the Jan. 28 AFC Championship game to cheer on Kelce, a tight end with the Kansas City Chiefs. The “Anti-Hero” singer rushed down to the field at M&T Bank Stadium with Kelce’s family to congratulate him after the Chiefs defeated the Baltimore Ravens, a win that advanced the Chiefs to the 2024 Super Bowl.

Fans who were watching the game gushed over the Kelce-inspired jewelry Swift wore as she hugged her beau on the field. Eagle-eyed viewers noticed that one glittery bracelet on her wrist featured the letters “TNT” in an apparent nod to the couple.

In the days since the game, the Pennsylvania-based Wove Made Inc. Jewelers has shed some light on how Kelce commissioned two bracelets—one for his pop star girlfriend and a matching one for himself. The brand’s CEO told People they put a rush on Kelce’s order and had the first bracelet ready for him in three days.

The diamond tennis bracelet was designed by pro golfer Michelle Wie West, who has a collection with Wove Made. West shared her excitement at seeing Swift wearing a bracelet she’d designed in a Feb. 1 Instagram video.

“Oh my god, guys, I still can’t believe Taylor Swift wore my bracelet!” West said, pointing to a photo of Swift’s bracelet-clad wrist in her video. “It’s so cool.”

A post shared by Michelle Wie West (@michellewiewest)

Dozens of people commented on her video—including “Killa Trav” himself.

Kelce’s comment was wordless, but he got his point across with a pair of raised-hands emojis followed by two fire emojis. Hundreds of people liked the simple comment he left on West’s post.

West’s design was inspired by the friendship bracelets that Swifties often wear at her concerts. Though the jewelry company told People that the bracelet Kelce ordered for Swift carries a $6,360 price tag, West said in her Instagram video that more affordable versions of the design are available for fans interested in duplicating the look.

Taylor Swift Announces 11th Studio Album 'Tortured Poets Department' After Winning 13th Grammy

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 8:47pm

Brace yourselves, Swifties: Taylor Swift's 11th studio album is officially on the way!

After winning her 13th Grammy—Pop Vocal Album for Midnights—the superstar announced that her next project will be a brand new record, rather than another rerecording as many suspected she would announce on the evening of Feb 4.

The pop star revealed the album's cover in a follow-up Instagram post, where she confirmed the new music would be out on April 19, 2024.

"And so I enter into evidence my tarnished coat of arms, my muses, acquired like bruises, my talismans and charms. The tick, tick, tick of love bombs, my veins of pitch black ink," she seemed to tease some of the lyrics in the second slide of the post. "All's fair in love and poetry... sincerely, The Chairman of The Tortured Poets Department."

A post shared by Taylor Swift (@taylorswift)

Eagle-eyed fans noticed ahead of the ceremony that Swift had changed her social media profile photos to be a black and white version of her Midnights album cover, in addition to her website being down, suggesting that a new era could be coming.

At a glance, one may have assumed that the site was down for maintenance, but upon a closer look, some realized that the error code provided wasn’t real, and that if you unscrambled part of it it proved to be an anagram for “red herring.”

She's since changed her profile photo to be the new album cover, which is a black and white snapshot of the singer sprawled across a set of giant pillows.

Previously, Swifties were convinced that Nov. 26 would be the next album announcement, for Reputation (Taylor's Version). Fans noticed subtle outfit changes featuring the era's colors—black, silver and gold—in the shows leading up to the reveal.

Swifties also took note when Swift busted a Reputation-era move on stage while singing "except when I'm on TV" during "Midnight Rain."

Another sign pointing to Reputation TV, according to fans, was her on-stage winking during Swift’s first and second São Paulo concerts. Following the Speak Now section, Swift turned to the camera and winked before walking offstage.

With this new album, the clock officially restarts for Swifties to start searching for clues in the singer's every move until the next rerecording is announced.

Oprah Skips the Red Carpet at the Grammys After Opening Up About Ozempic Use

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 8:23pm

Oprah is confidently strutting her stuff!

The billionaire media mogul stepped out for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday, Feb. 4, held at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, Calif., wearing a dazzling black and silver sequined skirt suit.

During the star-studded event, The Butler actress skipped the red carpet, but she posed for a few photographs next to her table, including one with her BFF Gayle King

She shined in the striped co-ord, which also featured a beaded design along the blazer's edge, and tucked her stocking-clad legs into a pair of black pumps.

The newly-minted 70-year-old, who celebrated her milestone birthday just days ago on Jan. 29, defied aging with her beauty look, opting for a high ponytail paired with bold lashes and a neutral lip, pulling everything together perfectly.

Meanwhile, King wore a sparkling champagne-colored jumpsuit with a matching floor-length duster. She left her hair to curl around her chin and completed the look with a coordinated eyeshadow and gold pumps.

Oprah is slated to present at this year's ceremony, along with Meryl Streep, Christina Aguilera, Lenny Kravitz, Lionel Richie, Maluma, Mark Ronson and more.

Winfrey's latest string of red carpet appearances come on the heels of the O Magazine namesake opening up about partially having Ozempic to thank for her recently-slimmed down figure, as she confirmed use of the popular diabetes/weight loss medication to assist with weight management.

"I was actually recommending it to people long before I was on it myself," she told People in December. As was previously reported, she continued to recall her past "shame" regarding her weight and use of the drug, before declaring, "The fact that there's a medically approved prescription for managing weight and staying healthier, in my lifetime, feels like relief, like redemption, like a gift, and not something to hide behind and once again be ridiculed for."

Additionally, Winfrey made sure to point out that the drug is only part of the equation in maintaining her physical appearance, stating, "If I’m not also working out and vigilant about all the other things, it doesn’t work for me."

Trevor Noah Jokes About Taylor Swift in His Grammys Monologue and, for Once, Fans Aren't Mad About It

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 8:09pm

Trevor Noah kicked off the 2024 Grammy Awards with a particularly memorable joke about Taylor Swift, and, for once, it's not because it was heinous.

The "Anti-Hero" songstress, who is nominated for six awards at this year's ceremony, entered the arena a few minutes late after posing for a series of photos in her elegant black and white 'fit, heading to her table at the perfect time as the former host of The Daily Show mentioned that she could make Grammys history this year if she takes home her fourth Album of the Year honor for Midnights

He stayed on the topic of the Eras Tour superstar, joking that each table she passed was immediately enjoying an improved economy—a reference to the incredible impact her ongoing tour has had in each town she performs in.

📹| Trevor Noah talking about Taylor as she arrives at the #GRAMMYs:

"Are you seeing what's happening right now? As Taylor Swift moves through the room, the local economy around those tables improves" pic.twitter.com/pw71o5CXjr

— Taylor Swift Updates 🤍 (@swifferupdates) February 5, 2024

He also dove into her NFL infamy ever since going public with beau Travis Kelce. But, instead of cringing and rolling their eyes, like when Jo Koy made a dig about Swift's game camera time during the Golden Globes, fans were delighted by Noah's commentary as he called it unfair for fans to be annoyed by the NFL's coverage of the singer.

“Let her live,” he demanded, going on to joke, “Every time they mention Taylor Swift, I’m gonna cut to someone who played football,” before the cameras panned to Terry Crews in the audience.

Several others merited smaller mentions throughout the evening, including Meryl Streep and Kelly Clarkson, who found it hysterical when he later threatened to "get [her] to cover one of [their] songs better than [they] ever good" as a punishment for anyone who went over their acceptance speech times.

Fans were delighted by the overt support that radiated from his monologues, with one tweeting, "now THIS is how you make a funny joke while also being respectful, in trevor noah we trust."

This is Noah’s fourth consecutive year hosting the Grammys. The comedian announced last December that he was invited back to guide the 66th annual awards show as its host, a task he described at the time as “a lot of fun.”

During the 2023 Grammys, Noah delivered a light and playful opening monologue while walking through the audience. As he passed performers like Lizzo, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles, Noah made amusing comments about their public personalities while sprinkling in jokes about then-relevant news topics, such as China’s suspected spy balloons and Southwest Airlines’ flight delays.

In one memorable moment last year, Noah used his hosting powers to facilitate an on-camera introduction between Adele and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, whom Noah explained the “Rolling in the Deep” singer had always wanted to meet.

The Recording Academy announced late last year that Noah would be resuming his hosting duties. In a press release announcing Noah’s return, the organization acknowledged Noah’s “ability to blend humor with a deep appreciation for music” in past years. “His return for the 2024 GRAMMYs is a testament to his impact and popularity in the role,” the release said.

This year, the 39-year-old snagged a nod for best comedy album for "I Wish You Would,' which could make him only the second Grammy host to win a Grammy that same evening, next to Kenny Rogers, who pulled off double duty by hosting and taking home Best Country Vocal Performance for The Gambler in 1980.

Along with the star-studded lineup of nominees and presenters, the 2024 Grammys also featured many unbelievable performances, with singer-songwriter Tracy Chapman making a rare appearance on stage to perform her hit song "Fast Car," originally released in 1988, with Luke Combs, whose 2023 cover of the song became a top country track.

The two took the stage together in an amazing performance, with Chapman tugging on heartstrings as she gave the emotional performance over 30 years after her song's original release.

Fans were stunned by the surprising Grammy stage, with one emotional fan writing on X (formerly Twitter), "Not sure when I'll stop crying over Tracy Chapman singing Fast Car again, but won't [be] anytime soon."

"How beautiful was that? For millions of people, I bet watching Tracy Chapman perform once again was to unlock profoundly powerful memories, and be transported to some very raw places. Savor every second. Tracy is Eternal," another reacted

Chapman originally won three Grammys in 1989 related to the song and her self-titled album, including Best New Artist, Best Contemporary Folk Album and Best Female Pop Vocal Performance. In 2024, Combs is nominated for Best Country Solo Performance for his "Fast Car" cover.

While Chapman has released seven other studio albums after Tracy Chapman, with the latest being Our Bright Future in 2008—even taking home another Grammy in 1997 for the song "Give Me One Reason"—since then, she has only performed a handful of times, leading a relatively private life.

When Combs' cover became a certified country hit, Chapman shared, "I never expected to find myself on the country charts, but I’m honored to be there. I’m happy for Luke and his success and grateful that new fans have found and embraced 'Fast Car.'"

In 2023, Chapman became the first Black person to win the coveted Song of the Year CMA Award for "Fast Car," with the crowd giving her a standing ovation, although she was not in attendance at the event to accept the award.

Luckily for fans of the song, Chapman returned to the stage once again to celebrate the revival of "Fast Car" with a special Grammys performance.

Jelly Roll is officially in the house at the 2024 Grammy Awards, and he's got some very special guests on his arm for the night!

The country music star, 39, arrived at the Crypto.com Arena alongside his wife Bunnie XO and his daughter Bailee Ann—and from the looks of the red carpet pics, the whole fam is serving with their ensembles for the evening.

For his part, the "Need a Favor" crooner cleaned up in a sherpa-lined beige jacket, paired with an oversized white tee and baggy khaki pants.

Bunnie, whose real name is Bonnie Alisa DeFord, looked glamorous as always, rocking a strapless champagne-colored gown that was completely covered in jewels. The 44-year-old model and podcast host also wore a statement cross necklace, along with a bold makeup look to complement her bleach-blonde hair.

Jelly Roll also brought along his daughter Bailee for the special night, and the 15-year-old made sure to bring the glitz and glam. Bailee was clad in a leather black top, along with a black jacket adorned with silver fringe and paired with matching bottoms.

Alyssa "Bunnie XO" DeFord, Jelly Roll, and Bailee Ann arrive at The 66th Annual Grammy Awards, airing live from Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California, Sunday, Feb. 4 (8:00-11:30 PM, live ET/5:00-8:30 PM, live PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Jelly Roll is nominated for a couple of awards at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, including a spot in the category for Best New Artist. He's up against quite an impressive list of competitors though, as Gracie Abrams, Fred Again.., Ice Spice, Coco Jones, Noah Kahan, Victoria Monét and The War and Treaty are also nominated.

Jelly Roll already cleaned up at a few country music award shows last year, including being crowned New Artist of the Year at the 2023 CMA Awards. He was also named Male Artist of 2023 at the inaugural People's Choice Country Awards in September last year.

This year, which marks the first time he's been nominated for a Grammy, Jelly Roll is also named in the Best Country Duo/Group Performance category for his duet with Lainey Wilson on the track "Save Me." The pair are up against Brothers Osborne (Nobody's Nobody), Carly Pearce and Chris Stapleton (We Don't Fight Anymore), Dierks Bentley and Billy Strings (High Note), Vince Gill & Paul Franklin (Kissing Your Picture [Is So Cold]) and Zach Bryan and Kacey Musgraves (I Remember Everything.)

Kelly Clarkson Shows Off Slim Figure on Grammys Red Carpet With Son Remington Alexander

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 7:25pm

Kelly Clarkson stepped onto the 2024 Grammys red carpet looking as fabulous as ever.

The 41-year-old singer and talk show host, who is nominated in this year's award show for Best Pop Vocal Album following the release of her latest studio album Chemistry, flaunted her slimmer figure in a stunning white gown when she posed with her son Remington, 7, outside of the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Feb. 4.

Her gown featured a low-cut neckline that crossed around her arms to form the low sleeves, a hugged her hips before flowing out in a short train. Remington was dressed to the nines too, wearing a red velour suit with a pink stripe down the legs and a colorful corsage tucked into his lapel. He completed his look with studded brown boots, while Clarkson's footwear couldn't be seen beneath her hemline.

Clarkson, who has always been a beauty, recently opened up about how she "dropped weight," saying she has been listening to her doctor and denied using the controversial weight loss drug Ozempic.

The "Catch My Breath" songstress' new look has been accentuated further by her wardrobe shake-up.  According to the American Idol alum, her stylists have been shaking things up in the fashion department since her recent weight loss, often choosing much more form-fitting options.

In January, the "Since U Been Gone" singer addressed her new style while performing at her Las Vegas residency when she struggled to bend down at the edge of the stage to take a shot with a fan.

"Oh, boy. I really can't bend in these," she said in a fan-recorded video of the interaction shared to TikTok, which showed Clarkson dressed in a tight black jumpsuit with a figure-hugging leather bodice.

"Like, I lost weight and [my styling team is] like, 'Let’s get you into this tight s–t,'" she quipped, while the audience cheered.

Heidi Klum Leaves Little to the Imagination in Sheer, Cutout Dress at the Grammys

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 7:22pm

Heidi Klum has arrived at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards, and, just like always, she made quite the entrance.

The 50-year-old supermodel did what she does best while showing up to the event at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles on Sunday, Feb. 4, where she accompanied husband and guitarist Tom Kaulitz to attend music's biggest night.

Klum brought her fashion A-game for the event, wearing a black floor-length gown that featured massive cutouts along the torso. The form-fitting garment was lined with rows of silver diamonds across her chest and across her hips, while a sheer material showed off Klum's super toned figure.

Her hubby was also dressed to the nines for the evening, wearing a sleek black jacket with a black button-up and matching black pants. The 34-year-old musician wasn't shy about showing off some PDA with his model wife, as he sweetly wrapped his arm around Klum's lower back while they posed for the cameras.

Klum and Kaulitz's Grammys appearance comes just days after the America's Got Talent judge dished all about their steamy sex life while making an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast.

During the super juicy episode, Klum had a NSFW chat about her affinity for German sausages (both the actual food and the implied euphemism), as Kaulitz is also German.

Klum was also asked to rate herself on a freakiness scale from 1 to 10, to which she said she falls at about a 9.

"Oh, you're a freak!" podcast host Alex Cooper exclaimed in response to the honest answer. "We love that!"

Billy Joel Poses for Rare Family Photo With His Wife and Daughters on the Grammys Red Carpet

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 7:08pm

Billy Joel made the 66th Annual Grammy Awards—where he's set to give his debut performance of his new single, "Turn the Lights Back On"—a family affair.

The "Piano Man" singer's wife, Alexis Roderick, and two youngest daughters, Della, 8, and Remy, 6, accompanied him on the red carpet at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, California on Feb. 4, 2024, where they paused to pose for photographers together.

The group was all decked out in black outfits with silver accents, perfectly coordinating for the sweet occasion. Roderick, 41, wore a black gown with a ruffled skirt and a gem-encrusted bust, accessorizing with a silver necklace and earrings. She rested her hand on her husband's shoulder, who wore a black suit with a black button-up and tie and a silver accent on his lapel.

Joel, 74, also wore a pair of sunglasses as he stood behind his daughters, resting a hand on each of their shoulders. The girls wore matching black gowns with sequined tops and layered tulle skirts, with a single ribbon tied around their left shoulders to hold them up. They also held matching little black purses and wore silver bracelets and necklaces, as well as a swatch of red lipstick for the special evening.

"Turn the Lights Back On" marks Joel's first new song in 17 years, but that, of course, hasn't stopped him from performing. He's preparing to wrap up his record-breaking residency at Madison Square Garden later this year and even invited his daughters on stage with him back in Dec.

The doting dad also took the girls to see Taylor Swift's Eras Tour earlier this year, sharing a series of sweet clips of the family having the time of their life at the Tampa concert

Taylor Swift Glows in White Corseted Gown With Hip-High Slit on the Grammys Red Carpet

Sun, 02/04/2024 - 7:08pm

Taylor Swift was elegance incarnate at the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

The Midnights crooner stepped out on the red carpet at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles just minutes before the evening's festivities got underway, where she glowed in a gorgeous sleeveless white gown with full-length black gloves.

The dress featured a corseted back and a hip-high slit, allowing the touring artist to show off her toned legs amid the gown's flowing train. She wore a pair of black peep-toe stilettos and accessorized with a black and white choker that appeared to be a watch—a reference to the time concept that runs rampant throughout the Midnights era—and a stack of silver necklaces layered beneath it.

Her blonde hair was left in loose curls with her bangs swept to the side and, of course, she finished the look with her signature red lip.

It's a far cry from last year's Grammy 'fit, which was comprised of a monochromatic two-piece made of a Midnights blue fabric with beaded accents sewn into a firework pattern—an apparent nod to the record that was released just a few months prior.

While this year's nominations all surround her 10th studio album, Swift opted for another apparent hint toward her next rerecording, which fans are convinced she'll announce during this evening's broadcast.

Both her formal outfits and street style of late have given off reputation and debut vibes simultaneously, like her glimmering green Golden Globes gown and the velvety green A-line mini dress she rocked during a New York City dinner date, but the black and white look is giving definitive reputation vibes this evening.

She's nominated for Record of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Pop Solo Performance for "Anti-Hero," Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year for Midnights, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for "Karma" featuring Ice Spice

Fans hoped that she and beau Travis Kelce would make their red carpet debut in honor of the ceremony, but the tight end and the Chiefs are hard at work preparing to take on the 49ers in the Super Bowl. Kelce and his fellow Chiefs skipped out on the Pro Bowl, which was scheduled to take place in Orlando on the same day, to travel to Las Vegas ahead of the Feb. 11 matchup at Allegiant Stadium.

Kelce confirmed the news on The Pat McAfee Show on Wednesday, Jan. 31, sharing that their travel plans conflicted with the red carpet. "I wish I could go support Taylor at the Grammys and watch her win every single award that she's nominated for," he said, adding, "Unfortunately, I gotta get ready for this big 'ole Super Bowl that we got in a week."

We're also hoping to see Swift in attendance at what will mark her 13th game of the season, though there's still no confirmation as to whether she plans to be present. She starts back up on the Eras Tour on Feb. 7, performing several shows in a row in Tokyo through Feb. 10. With a 17-hour time difference, it's certainly possible for her to make it to Vegas in time. It's likely to impact her typical post-show recovery routine, but if anyone can power through, we have a feeling it's the "Don't Blame Me" singer.
