Brooke Burke, 54, Reveals Why She Thinks Menopause 'Can Be Sexy'
Fitness guru Brooke Burke is opening up about menopause. In fact, the beauty referred to it as "sexy."
In a new interview with USA Today Shopping, Burke, 53, opened up about her own experience navigating the change, and shared that “it can be sexy.”
“I started noticing brain fog, fatigue, disrupted sleep… and I thought, is this just my 40s?” Burke shared, noting that the worst part was that the topic seemed untouched. “We didn’t have a language for it. There was a little bit of shame, a little bit of mystery… people just weren’t talking about it."
Burke is choosing to speak about menopause to destigmatize the experience. She's backing a new Menopause Time Off initiative that highlights just how much women are struggling at work, the piece continued.
“When women think something is ‘normal,’ they just deal with it,” she explains. “I don’t believe that. There’s so much we can do.”
Burke Praised Hormone Replacement Therapy“As soon as I started HRT, it was a game changer for me,” she says. “It helped me navigate what was happening in my body."
Burke also follows a regimen of strength training, sleep prioritization, and low-impact movement like yoga and walking. She also advocated for hormone testing since "there’s science behind this—you don’t have to guess.”
What Does Brooke Burke Think About Ozempic? In a previous interview with Page Six, Burke shared how she feels about the use of drugs like Ozempic for weight loss. She explained that it's "not necessarily sustainable" to simply take a medication like Ozempic, which can cause rapid weight loss, without caring for other aspects of your health. But in contrast to several fitness pros, like Jillian Michaels, who has spoken out against drugs like Ozempic, Burke says she's "not mad at it."
"So when it comes to the world of Ozempic, which has changed the landscape of obesity, I'm not mad at it, I'll be really honest," Burke shared. "But I'm not mad at it if someone is disciplined enough to weight train, to do their blood work and to eat. What drives me crazy is people that want a quick fix, they want to starve their body and they don't understand the value of weight training."
It's the people who take these drugs but neglect weight training and proper nutrition that end up in trouble, said Burke.
"We're seeing this depleted look because people are losing their appetite. That's the hormone, right? It helps you curb your appetite. They're not eating. That's terrible for your metabolism. That is terrible for everything," she explained. "I know we wanna cheat the system as Americans; we do. We're looking for that quick fix; it's not necessarily sustainable."

This creates a better environment for fuller, stronger hair to grow.”

The One Thing You Shouldn't Do When You Freeze Watermelon
Whether it’s served sliced at a backyard BBQ, bought at a roadside stand or sprinkled with a bit of salt, summertime just isn’t summertime without watermelon. Along with other seasonal produce like stone fruit, corn and tomatoes, perfectly ripe watermelon is a warm-weather highlight that almost makes the heat worth bearing.
Watermelon’s only flaw? The fruit’s peak condition is short-lived, especially once it’s cut. While a whole watermelon will last up to 10 days in the fridge, cut watermelon will last between 2 and 5 days. As you look at that tub of watermelon cubes in the fridge, you might wonder, can you freeze watermelon? Luckily, the answer is yes.
Freezing cut watermelon is a simple and reliable way to extend this summertime treat. We have the expert tips on how to freeze watermelon, what to do with those frozen assets and what not to do when you stick this fruit in the deep freeze.

Can You Freeze Watermelon?"Watermelon is 92% water, so it absolutely will freeze," says Stephanie Barlow, Senior Director of Communications at The National Watermelon Promotion Board. Barlow has 20 years of watermelon experience, so she knows her stuff. "Whether you're freezing blended up juice or puree in an ice cube tray or pieces of watermelon, it will turn from flesh to frozen," she says.
One thing to note right off the bat: For the best taste and texture, it's best to eat or use frozen watermelon while it's still frozen. That means using watermelon puree or juice ice cubes in drinks, tossing frozen chunks into smoothies, etc. You can thaw frozen watermelon pieces, but the texture and taste won't be the same, so you'll have more limited options in how you can use it.

How Do You Freeze Watermelon? For the best frozen watermelon, start with the freshest, juiciest watermelon you can. As with many foods, watermelon's sweetness and texture will change once it's frozen. And no matter what watermelon form you're going for (chunks, melon balls, puree or juice), start by removing the seeds. If you have a seedless watermelon, that job's already been done for you.
One thing to note: It's not a good idea to freeze a whole watermelon because it will be nearly impossible to cut when it's a gigantic oval ice ball and who has the room in the freezer anyway? Curious about freezing forms of watermelon? Here's what you need to know.
How To Freeze Watermelon ChunksTo freeze watermelon chunks, you’ll need a cutting board, a knife and a baking tray lined with parchment paper or plastic wrap.
First, use the cutting board and knife to cut the watermelon into pieces, slicing off any rind. If the watermelon has any seeds, remove them.
Place the chunks on the parchment-lined tray, making sure they don’t touch, before placing the uncovered tray in the freezer. Let the chunks freeze until solid, which should take 1-2 hours. Once the chunks are frozen, transfer them to an airtight container, such as a zip-top bag, and store them in the freezer. Be sure to mark the date on the container so you'll know how long they've been in the deep freeze.
How To Freeze Watermelon Balls or CubesIf you want to make cute watermelon balls or more precise cubes, you can prep the fruit and then freeze it using the same method you would for watermelon chunks.
How To Freeze Watermelon PureeSimply puree the watermelon in a blender or food processor before pouring the puree into an ice cube tray or an airtight container, giving around an inch of space for the frozen watermelon to expand.
How To Freeze Watermelon JuiceYou can absolutely freeze watermelon juice. Just make watermelon puree and then use a fine mesh strainer to separate the pulp from the juice. Transfer to ice cube trays or another airtight container. If you go the container route, leave some room for the liquid to expand.

How Long Can You Freeze Watermelon?Like a lot of freezer-related questions, there's a difference between "can" and "should" when it comes to timing. Although some sources say you can store frozen watermelon chunks for up to 8 months, Barlow recommends trying to use frozen watermelon within a couple of weeks, if you can.
Barlow suggests using watermelon puree or juice that's frozen in ice cube trays even more quickly. "I’ve experienced watermelon puree in an ice cube tray breaking down after a few weeks, much like regular ice cubes when they're forgotten about, so the best practice is to use them within a week," she says.
If you choose to freeze your watermelon longer, just use your eyes, nose (and common sense) to see if it seems ok to eat.

How To Thaw Frozen WatermelonBarlow would suggest skipping the thawed watermelon. "We don’t recommend trying to thaw it," she says. "The watermelon taste, texture and color changes when it's frozen and it’s rather unappealing when you thaw it. The texture and taste are off. Can you thaw it and use it? Yes, but I don’t recommend it. Taste at your own risk."
If you do want to thaw frozen watermelon, you can thaw it in the fridge and then puree it. The soggy texture is definitely not something you're going to want to use in something like a fruit salad.

How To Use Frozen WatermelonHere are some delicious ideas for using your frozen stash.
Barlow likes to add watermelon juice ice cubes to her iced tea or sparkling water. "My favorite is our frozen watermelon margarita or a simple slushy," she says. "It’s great to have on hand for a nutrient boost and cold texture for my morning smoothies to get a burst of lycopene, vitamin C, vitamin A and B6."
Gabriel Urrutia, award-winning mixologist and author of Miami Cocktails: An Elegant Collection of over 100 Recipes inspired by the Magic City, loves using watermelon ice cubes in drinks. “It goes great into a Collins, an Aperol Spritz, or even a summer take on a Negroni,” he says.
For a simple frozen drink, Urrutia recommends blending watermelon ice cubes with 3 cups watermelon, 1 cup water, ¼ cup agave syrup and ¼ cup fresh lime juice to make an agua fresca. “Add some mezcal and you’re ready to rock,” he says.
Will Simpson, beverage director at Chicheria Mexican Kitchen in Atlanta, likes to use watermelon ice cubes to make brunch a little more fun by adding them to mimosas.
If you want to turn your frozen watermelon into a fun and easy dessert, you can freeze larger pieces or wedges and shave the frozen fruit into a bowl using a Microplane grater for an almost-instant shaved ice a la one of our favorite food creators, Frankie Gaw.
Kyle Cooke's Kiss With Ava Dash Has Bravo Fans Reaching for the Popcorn
Kyle Cooke and Ava Dash haven't confirmed they're dating, but the newly single Summer House star was spotted kissing the Next Gen NYC newcomer in the Hamptons, sparking a wave of reactions from Bravo fans.
Although Kyle denied in March that he was dating Dash, Ava addressed the kiss when asked about it by Page Six.
“We were having a good time,” Dash teased. “I’m open to having a really great summer, and I’m having a really great summer. I just want to have fun.”
Whether this is just a summer fling or the start of something more serious, Bravo fans certainly have opinions. One of the most common reactions focused on Kyle's busy dating life since becoming single, with many joking that he's been spotted kissing plenty of women. In recent weeks, he has also been photographed kissing The Real Housewives of Orange Countyalum Meghan King, while rumors have linked him to Southern Charm star Salley Carson.
Kyle addressed those rumors on Watch What Happens Live, explaining that he and Salley were never on a date.
“We were out with multiple friends, at a dive bar,” Kyle said. “This was not a date situation, just having fun. But, she’s a great girl.”
He also clarified what happened with King, saying he had only just met her.
“I didn’t know who she was. Introduced myself,” Kyle recounted. “We ended up at a Page Six party, then an after party.”
Another common reaction centered on the pair's age difference. “She is 26 and he’s 43. Just a gentle reminder that when he was graduating high school, she was quite literally being born,” one person wrote on Instagram.
“Omg noooo, Ava is way too young for him!!!!” another commenter added.
Still, plenty of fans were rooting for the pair.
“Good for you Kyle! Date as many women as you can, you deserve it!” one person wrote, while others said they thought Kyle and Ava looked cute together.

'Jackass' Star Reveals His Surprising Connection to Keanu Reeves and an Oscar-Winning Film
With the latest Jackass film hitting theaters and rousing die-hard fans, a previousJohnny Knoxvilleinterview revealed something new about the prankster. During his early years as an aspiring actor, he had a role in Bram Stoker's Dracula, and no one ever noticed.
Before becoming known for his stunts on Jackass, Knoxville wholeheartedly pursued acting and took up a gig as a body double in 1992, and didn't fully know what film it was for. Bram Stoker's Dracula would become one of the biggest cult classic vampire films directed by Francis Ford Coppola.
“Stand-in and photo double, the whole movie,” he said in a 2024 interview on Inside of You with Michael Rosenbaum. “I was just doing extra work at the time, and they just happened to call me. They didn't use a lot of camera tricks.”
His work as a body double meant he was subbing in for Keanu Reeves during some of the more challenging stunts. The actor played one of the leading roles as Jonathan Harker opposite Gary Oldman, Winona Ryder, and Anthony Hopkins.
"They had me up off the ground, like 20 feet, with a window in front of me, and I'm parallel to the ground. And that's one of the days that Coppola came to the second unit. His son, Roman, was directing the second unit. So he was telling me how to," recalls Knoxville about the experience.
The Jackass star also remembers getting direction from Coppola for a specific scene that would become one of the film's most iconic. It involved Reeves' character shaving when Count Dracula (Oldman) sneaks up on him. The vampire becomes enamored by the bloody nick caused by the blade and seductively licks the blood off the razor. Knoxville remembers having had to mimic the scene and "got it pretty quickly."
While fans may have never known that Knoxville was a part of one of the biggest vampire films ever created, it was talked about by Coppola and his son almost a decade ago in commentary for the film.
"One of the things we did, actually the stand-in for Keanu Reeves was Johnny Knoxville, who has become famous as one of the Jackass guys. We had him hanging upside down with a wire. It was very tactile and we were doing all this crazy stuff," said Roman.
His work on Bram Stoker's Dracula isn't part of Knoxville's official filmography, with one of his earliest roles having been in the 2000 film Coyote Ugly. Many fans may remember one of his most well-known roles as a two-headed alien in Men in Black II.

Steven Spielberg Reveals He Would Redo 1991's 'Hook' if He Could: 'I Didn't Quite Know What I Was Doing'
As even the most casual viewer is sure to know, Steven Spielberg has produced some of the most universally praised films of all time.
Whether looking at early classics like Jaws or Close Encounters of the Third Kind or more recent releases like West Side Story or The Fabelmans, Spielberg's filmography is filled to the brim with sensational classics, spanning science fiction, thrillers, action, adventure, drama, musicals and history.
As many great movies as Spielberg has overseen, however, there is one movie that the legendary director maintains incredibly mixed feelings about.
When recently asked which movie he would redo differently if he could, the 79-year-old instantly answered back with 1991's Hook.
A spellbinding sequel to J.M. Barrie's original Peter Pan,Hook follows a now adult Peter Pan (Robin Williams) who has since grown into a miserly lawyer with no knowledge of his past. After a vengeful Captain Hook (Dustin Hoffman) kidnaps his children, however, Peter is forced to return to Neverland, uncovering his adventurous childhood in order to rescue his kids and thwart his sworn nemesis.
Arriving in theaters on December 11, 1991, Hook wound up receiving mixed reviews from critics, with many criticizing the film for its long runtime and fairly muddled narrative. In the years since, however, it has grown into a beloved cult classic, with many considering it among Spielberg's most underrated films.
In spite of its favorable contemporary reputation, though, Spielberg has plainly stated over the years that he doesn't hold Hook in very high regard.
"I'm uncomfortable with that highly stylized world that today, of course, I would probably have done with live-action character work inside a completely digital set," Spielberg said in 2011 (via MovieWeb). "But we didn't have the technology to do it then, and my imagination only went as far as building physical sets and trying to paint trees blue and red."
"I didn't have confidence in the script," Spielberg later said in 2018. "I didn't quite know what I was doing, and I tried to paint over my insecurity with production value. The more insecure I felt about it, the bigger and more colorful the sets became."
1976 Classic Ballad, Reimagined 31 Years Later, Became a Soft Rock Anthem
Love triangles have inspired countless songs, but few captured the emotional conflict as memorably as "Torn Between Two Lovers."
Released in 1976, Mary MacGregor's debut single became an international sensation thanks to its gentle melody and deeply confessional lyrics. The soft rock ballad topped the Billboard Hot 100 and quickly established MacGregor as one of the era’s breakout vocalists. More than three decades later, the song found new life when Filipino superstar Sharon Cuneta recorded her own version in 2007.
The original was born from an unlikely songwriting partnership.
Written by Peter Yarrow of Peter, Paul and Mary alongside Phillip Jarrell, "Torn Between Two Lovers" explored the difficult emotions of loving two people at once, a topic that was relatively uncommon in mainstream pop at the time. MacGregor's understated vocal performance gave the song an honesty that resonated with audiences, helping it become one of the defining soft rock ballads of the late 1970s.
"When I first started singing I was singing with a dance band and I was 14 years old and we used to play for proms, and we did old music, things like 'Blue Moon' and 'Moon River' and I learned to sing all of those old songs," said MacGregor in a 1978 interview on American Bandstand. "I sort of learned singing from an interpreter's point of view. Rather than being a singer-songwriter I was someone who is interpreting someone else's material."
The song's success was immediate.
"Torn Between Two Lovers" spent two weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 while also topping Billboard's Adult Contemporary chart. The song earned gold certification and became MacGregor's signature recording, remaining a favorite on soft rock and adult contemporary radio long after its original chart run ended.
More than 30 years later, the classic found a new audience.
In 2007, acclaimed actress and singer Sharon Cuneta included "Torn Between Two Lovers" on her album Isn’t It Romantic? Her interpretation preserved the emotional core of the original while introducing the ballad to a new generation of listeners, particularly in the Philippines, where Cuneta has long been one of the country's most beloved recording artists.
The cover demonstrated the song's remarkable staying power. Although musical styles had changed dramatically since the 1970s, its timeless themes of love, heartbreak and impossible choices continued to resonate across cultures and generations.
Nearly 50 years after Mary MacGregor first recorded it, "Torn Between Two Lovers" remains one of the defining soft rock ballads of its era. Reimagined by Sharon Cuneta 31 years later, the song continues to remind listeners that heartfelt storytelling never goes out of style.

Trump’s Bizarre New AI Video Featuring Major A-Listers Triggers Heated Reactions
Just when you thought AI slop couldn’t get any stranger,Donald Trumpgoes and posts a clip of himself dressed in a white coat reading “Donald Trump, M.D.,” bashing some of the top celebs and touting a cure for TDS (a.k.a., Trump Derangement Syndrome).
Of course, this isn’t the first time the president has used an AI-generated image or video to create an outlandish scenario online. In April, he shared a post depicting himself as Jesus Christ, and then there was the “photo” of Trump, Vice President JD Vance,Marco Rubio, Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum, and a bikini-clad woman floating in the Reflecting Pool (pre-algae incident).
If you thought those posts were over-the-top, just wait until you see where Trump is going now. Dr. Trump, M.D., starts his PSA off by saying, “Have you or someone you know been diagnosed with TDS? The symptoms can be relentless. Fortunately, I’m Dr. Trump, and I have a treatment plan. Let’s hear what some of my patients have to say.”
As if this wasn’t already…um, interesting enough, it just gets better (in the strangest sense possible) from there.
Trump’s “patients” are AI-generated versions (obviously) of standout anti-MAGA celebrities, including RosieO’Donnell, JohnLeguizamo, WhoopiGoldberg, EdwardNorton, RobertDe Niro, and Julia Roberts.
O’Donnell is the first famous face to appear. Sitting in a medical office, the comedian’s AI-self shares, “I have been suffering for over a decade. And after listening to Dr. Trump, I can see some results.”
View this post on InstagramLeguizamo adds, “I’ve been suffering for years. I really didn’t believe there was help out there. That was when I came across this video on TV.”
And what does Whoopi have to say? The real Whoopi has nothing to say. But the fake AI version does: “I really thought I was a lost cause.”
Trump reappears part-way through the video, saying, “I really wasn't sure I could help some of these people. They were so far gone.”
A seemingly sad Edward Norton and a disgruntled De Niro, who adds, “I made everyone miserable around me,” are the next celebrities Trump’s video targets. But they’re not the last.
Julia Roberts is the final celeb to appear, saying, “I feel like I’ve aged 20 years in the last two years.”
What’s the treatment for TDS? According to the “doctor,” it’s simple: “Turn off fake news. Say your prayers. And if you ever feel anxious, just have a Diet Coke like me.”
How are critics reacting to Trump’s AI TDS PSA?Critics took to social media, bashing the video (to put it lightly), with Redditors posting, “It’s like he’s in the 7th grade or something”, “I swear he does more dress-up pretending than my six-year-old niece,” and “A fake video, of a fake doctor, talking about a fake disease. And sadly, he and his fans think this is appropriate behavior for the president.”
Others referenced his previous AI pic, pointing out, “That’s not a doctor, doctors look like Jesus” and, “So he does know what doctors wear now.”
While Redditors were heated, the comments on Trump’s original Instagram post went in a totally different direction. Some commenters praised the doctor (or president), writing, “Best president for ever” and, “Nobody does it better than he do.”

'70s Rock Legend, Nicknamed 'The Professor,' Turns 77
In rock music, some musicians become legendary without ever needing the spotlight.
Roy Bittan, born July 2, 1949, turns 77 this year. Best known as "The Professor," Bittan is the longtime pianist and keyboardist for Bruce Springsteen's E Street Band, where his playing helped shape some of the most recognizable songs in American rock.
Bittan joined the E Street Band in 1974 after answering an advertisement looking for a musician who could play everything from classical music to Jerry Lee Lewis-style rock and roll. After two auditions, the Queens-born musician earned the spot, bringing a dramatic and precise piano style that quickly became a major part of the band's sound.
His arrival came at a critical moment. Springsteen was working toward the sound that would define Born to Run, and Bittan's piano became one of the album's most important ingredients. His playing can be heard across the record, including on classics such as "Thunder Road," "Backstreets" and "Jungleland."
"Thunder Road" in particular went on to become one of Springsteen's most celebrated songs, widely regarded as one of the greatest American rock songs ever recorded.
Over the decades, Bittan's work with the E Street Band helped give Springsteen's music its sweeping, cinematic quality. Whether adding bright piano lines, organ, accordion or synthesizers, he became one of the musicians most closely associated with the emotional force behind Springsteen's live shows and studio recordings.
In a 2012 interview with NJ.com, Bittan explained that his recognizable style came from learning how to treat the piano with the same phrasing and emotion as a voice. "A long, long time ago, I learned that the rests are as important as the notes," he said. "It's all about playing something that's supportive of the song." His approach helped make him one of the E Street Band's most important musicians, adding drama without overpowering the songs.
Outside of the E Street Band, Bittan also built a respected career as a session musician, working with artists including David Bowie, Stevie Nicks, Bob Seger and Jackson Browne. His reputation extended far beyond one band, though his place in rock history remains tied most closely to Springsteen's biggest records.
In 2014, Bittan was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of the E Street Band, honoring his role in one of rock's most enduring live acts.
Now, as he turns 77, Bittan remains one of the most respected keyboardists of his generation. For fans, "The Professor" is not just a nickname, but a fitting title for a musician whose playing helped teach generations what rock piano could sound like.

Barbra Streisand Celebrates 28th Anniversary with Husband James Brolin: 'Where Has the Time Gone?'
Barbra Streisand is celebrating 28 years of marriage to her longtime romantic partner James Brolin, a relationship that has now spanned three decades.
Taking to Instagram to share the couple's celebration, Streisand posted a photo of the two Hollywood heavyweights posing together in a romantic embrace.
"Honey… 30 years together and 28 years married!? Where has the time gone? Happy Anniversary," Streisand wrote in the image's caption, signing off with the name Barbra Joan Brolin.
Many of the couple's closest friends chimed in with similarly celebratory words for Brolin and Streisand on the latter's Instagram post. "Where has the time gone indeed! I remember when you first started dating… Happy anniversary to a beautiful enduring love!" wrote Linda Thompson.
"I emended when you were first dating!!! Time has flown. Happy Anniversary, Mr and Mrs Brolin," said Rita Wilson.
As fans of the singer and her actor husband might remember, Streisand and Brolin first met on July 1, 1996, marrying one another two years to the day later. Interestingly, the couple were set up by mutual friends for a blind date.
As Streisand later told Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show in 2021, she was incredibly "shy" when first meeting Brolin and his family, although she eventually managed to cut the tension by playfully ribbing Brolin over his haircut (via People magazine).
"I was so shy that I came into the house and I went downstairs to be with the children and play with them until I had to sit down at the table," Streisand said.
"I expected a guy with a brown beard and brown, wavy hair.... I saw a guy that had all his hair cut off, no beard," the Funny Girl star continued. "And I walked by him. I put my hand through his hair and said, 'Who f***ed up your hair?'"

According to Food Network, flan is a custard dessert made with eggs, milk, and sugar that’s traditionally topped with caramel sauce and known for its silky texture and rich flavor. Variations of the dessert can be found throughout Latin America and Europe, with different countries putting their own spin on the classic recipe. No matter where it's served, flan remains one of the world's most recognizable custard desserts.
Costco’s version stays true to the classic, pairing sweet egg custard with a rich caramel topping. In the video, the glossy caramel layer immediately stands out, giving us a glimpse of the dessert’s smooth and creamy texture.

At 48 ounces, the dessert is large enough to serve a crowd, whether you’re hosting a backyard barbecue, attending a family gathering, or looking for an easy dessert to keep on hand for the holiday weekend. Kate Middleton’s Favorite Handbag Label Just Dropped a Drool-Worthy New Summer Line
The Princess of Wales is known for having an impeccable uniform of sharp tailored dresses and lush monochrome coats, but her choice in leather goods is where she deviates from standard royal protocol. Her favorite styles have long complemented her polished aesthetic with understated, durable items that stand the test of time.
One of her go-to brands is the cult fave DeMellier, the London brand founded by Mireia Llusia-Lindh. Kate Middleton has carried the deep toffee Nano Montreal bag to high-profile charity events and styled the brand’s structured top-handles for public walkabouts, triggering the inevitable sell-out loops that follow her wardrobe choices.
For those who track the princess's style choices, the brand’s latest release offers a look at where her wardrobe might go next. DeMellier is launching the second installment of its Summer 26 collection on July 2nd, trading its usual sharp, urban structures for heavy textures and raw materials.
The focus of the new release is the Siena Crossbody, a new silhouette for the brand. Moving away from rigid, boxy frames, the Siena features a drop-shaped silhouette designed to sit flat against the hip or hang from the shoulder. It is a utilitarian piece that aligns with the understated, logo-free aesthetic Kate favors during her more casual public engagements.

The most significant shift in the lineup is the introduction of hand-crocheted Madagascan Raffia. Produced via a supplier network of over 2,000 artisans in Madagascar, 98% of whom are women, each bag requires the work of three separate craftspeople to construct. The resulting woven texture contrasts sharply with the smooth calf skins the brand typically employs.
Alongside the raffia, the collection introduces Tobacco Suede, a heavy, mid-tone brown that shifts between caramel and olive depending on the light. DeMellier is cutting this specific suede across its most recognizable shapes, including the Hudson, the Midi New York, and the Vancouver clutch.
The new pieces launch online on July 2nd. Given the speed with which the "Kate Effect" empties DeMellier's digital shelves, buyers should expect the Tobacco Suede pieces to move quickly if the princess is seen with one on her arm.
The Super Smart Watermelon-Picking Trick We Wish We’d Known About Sooner
I don't mean to brag, but I'm a pro at eating watermelon. Fun fact: At one of my old jobs, my team hosted a watermelon-eating contest, and had it not been for my referee role, I would have won the whole thing.
But what I am not so pro at is picking a perfectly ripe watermelon. You know the one—the vibrant ruby-red color saturates the melon from core to edge, and small droplets of juice glisten on the surface of the fruit the moment you cut in.
As far as unattainable aspirations go, perfectly ripe watermelon was near the top of my list, but I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across a video that seemed like it could make my watermelon dreams come true.
It's a hack so simple that you can skip any other watermelon-picking tips on the internet (there, I said it). Allow me to introduce you to Mr. Rice's watermelon-picking trick.

♬ original sound - Mrrice🌾I've heard so much about mrrice, a Korean-American creator who shares "grandma wisdoms" on TikTok. His claim to virality is this watermelon-picking hack. The trick is to scan the bottoms of watermelons and pick up the one with the smallest black dot. (The dot is the spot opposite the stem end.) The smaller the dot is, the sweeter the watermelon will be.
People I know have sworn by it, but I only became a convert after I tried it recently and saw (and tasted) the results myself. The watermelon was bright red, candy-sweet and bursting with juice with every bite. I couldn't stop eating it.

Relying on the dot rule for picking watermelon saves you time, but more than that, it eliminates the guesswork (and low-key humiliation) at the grocery store. There's no need to weight-lift a bunch of melons to assess if they're heavy for their size, nor do you need to knock and listen to them to see if they sound juicy.
While you're checking the watermelon's spot, you can also look for what’s called the “ground spot,” which is where the fruit rested on the ground when it was ripening. The brighter the ground spot, the better the fruit.
How To Use Super Ripe WatermelonCourtesy of Justine Lee
Super-ripe watermelon is one of Mother Nature's greatest summer treats! Other than eating the fruit in slices or cubes or straight from the melon with a spoon, ripe watermelon is a refreshing addition to so many recipes.

On a super hot day, blend up a few pieces and make watermelon juice. Or cut the fruit into cubes and toss them in a salad with fresh herbs and salty halloumi cheese.
Want a lower-sugar treat? Freeze ripe watermelon and make a granita. Run the frozen watermelon through a food processor or blender until fluffy and dig in.
And we recently learned about watermelon sandwiches and have been making them on repeat all summer long.
'80s Rock Icon Comes Out Swinging in Fiery New Trump Protest Anthem: 'We'll Never Be the 51st State'
Bryan Adams just released a new song for Canada Day, and the rocker’s latest tune is poking fun at America’s president.
The name of the protest song, ‘51st State,’ pretty much says it all. While Adams doesn’t directly mention Donald Trump in the lyrics, it’s clear who this catchy anthem is about. "Never thought I’d see the day. Never thought I’d see the plan. Where everything could get harder for the working man. Yeah, we’re better off together. But we’re better hand in hand. But the 49th parallel has become a line drawn in the sand.”
As if that’s not obvious enough, the track continues, “Let me give it to you straight. When you’re talking about my home. You better show some respect. Cuz up here we take care of our own. So let me give you some advice, mister. You might have too much on your plate. Go’n load us up with tariffs. But we’ll never be the 51st State.”
But that’s not all, “Maybe you’ve forgotten? Maybe you just don’t care. But we always stood beside you for that liberty we share. You can push us to the brink, but where the open roads divides you’ll find a wall of maple with us on the other side.”
Of course, this is far from the Canadian rocker’s first hit. Adams rose to fame in the 1980’s with chart-toppers such as ‘Summer of ‘69’, ‘Straight from the Heart’, Cuts Like a Knife’, ‘Run to You’, and ‘Heaven.’ He followed these with his 1991 album Waking Up the Neighbors, which featured the classic tracks ‘(Everything I Do) I Do It for You’ and ‘Can’t Stop This Thing We Started.’
The musician isn't the first famous Canadian to publicly speak out against Trump. Last year, after the U.S. raised tariffs to 25% on Canada, the country’s former Prime MinisterJustin Trudeau said, “Canadians are reasonable, and we are polite, but we will not back down from a fight. Not when our country and the well-being of everyone in it is at stake.”
He continued, “We don’t want this. We want to work with you as a friend and an ally. And we don’t want to see you hurt either. But your government has chosen to do this to you. It’s not in my habit to agree with the Wall Street Journal. But Donald, they point out that even though you’re a very smart guy, this is a very dumb thing to do.”
View this post on Instagram What do Bryan Adams’ fans think about his new protest song? When the singer posted the protest song on Instagram, fans took to social media to applaud the track. One commenter wrote, “Thank you! Most celebrities are silent for some unfathomable ($) reason but hopefully you inspire more to speak up”, while another said, “Thank you Bryan Adams! Great song! From one fellow Canadian to all Canada. Be Strong. Be Free. Be Proud, Much love to all of you.”
Walmart’s 'Easy-to-Install' $25 Deck-Mounted Bird Bath Is a Cool Spot Where Backyard Wildlife Can Beat the Heat
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Summer heat waves are not just tough on people. Birds feel it too, especially in urban and small-space environments where natural water sources can be harder to find. As temperatures climb, even a simple source of water can make a noticeable difference, giving backyard visitors a place to drink, cool down, and take quick dips between flights. For anyone looking to attract more wildlife this season while working with a balcony, patio, or deck, Walmart has a deal worth noting.
The Specstar Deck-Mounted Bird Bath is currently marked down 39%, dropping from $41 to just $25. Designed to attach directly to railings, fences, and bannisters, it turns even the smallest outdoor space into a welcoming stop for birds looking to escape the heat.
Specstar Deck-Mounted Bird Bath, From $25 (was $41) at Walmart Shopa at WalmartThis bird bath transforms an ordinary porch or deck railing into a front-row view of backyard bird activity. Its wide and shallow round basin is designed to give birds plenty of room to bathe and cool off, while the hammered exterior finish in copper, bronze, and verdigris green creates an aged, timeworn look that looks antique. Along the rim, evenly spaced punched detailing adds texture and a handcrafted feel that enhances its decorative appeal.
The clamp-style mounting system allows the bath to attach directly to a railing without taking up garden space, giving it a “floating” appearance once installed. A detachable bowl-and-base design makes maintenance simple, as the basin can be lifted off easily for quick refills and cleaning. Constructed from durable, weather-resistant acrylic rubber, it’s built to withstand sun, rain, and seasonal changes without peeling or fading over time.
For stability, widened adjustable clamps distribute pressure evenly across railings, while a rust-resistant metal frame helps keep the structure steady even when larger birds land. Once secured, it should remain firmly in place, providing a consistent water source on decks, patios, or balconies that won’t shift or wobble. The basin can also double as a feeder when filled with seeds or grains to attract even more feathered visitors.
Suburban and urban birdwatchers praised this “easy-to-install” and “durable” bath for its easy maintenance. One reviewer wrote, “The bowl picks up easily so you can empty and clean — easy peasy, and the birds always have fresh water.”
