Lindsay Hubbard has had enough of what she calls "cyber bullying." The Summer Housestar issued a pointed message to Bravo fan accounts on Threads, accusing some of crossing the line from sharing opinions to obsessively targeting cast members with negative content.

Her comments struck a chord with many Bravo viewers, who flooded the replies in support and agreed that some fan accounts have become increasingly driven by outrage and negativity. The discussion follows an apparent dispute over an upcoming In the Citypreview, with Hubbard claiming one account omitted her response when reposting details about the episode.

"Consider this a formal PSA: If you are a Bravo fan account, and 90% of your posts and clips are to incite hate towards ANY @bravotv talent when their show(s) are airing, that is called CYBER BULLYING," she wrote. "It’s okay to have opinions, that’s the point of us putting our lives on TV: different journeys invite different perspectives from the audience. But when the majority of your clips and posts are directed towards one person in an extremely negative way, it reaches a point of obsession and bullying."

Hubbard continued by saying that she understands reality stars invite public opinion, but argued some Bravo fan accounts have crossed the line into targeted harassment. While she appreciates respectful discussion, she said one account has singled her out for years, calling the behavior unacceptable and urging people to treat each other better.

She concluded the thread: "We live in weird times, and the least we can do is enjoy Bravo with respect to the human beings that are opening up their lives."

Hubbard's post quickly drew support from Bravo fans, many of whom agreed that there's a difference between discussing reality TV and repeatedly targeting the same cast member.

One fan praised the Summer House star for speaking up, writing, "Totally agree… Huge fan. Thank you for sharing your life. It's not easy what all of you do and the negativity definitely needs to be dialed back."

Another commenter offered context for what appeared to spark Hubbard's post, alleging that a Bravo fan account shared details about an upcoming episode before deleting the original post and reposting it without Hubbard's response.

Not everyone was on Hubbard's side. A few commenters questioned her criticism or responded with sarcasm, with one writing, "Girl [eyeroll emoji href="https://parade.com/living/emoji-meanings"]," while another joked, "lol was about to attack you til I realized you directed this only at bravo fan accounts so I'm safe."

Overall, however, the early reaction leaned in Hubbard's favor, with many agreeing that criticism of reality stars shouldn't cross into what she described as "cyber bullying."

Jon and Summer Pardi tied the knot in 2020 and announced their split in July 2026.

"After much thought, we have made the difficult decision to end our marriage. Our daughters will always remain our highest priority and we are committed to moving forward with love and respect as co-parents," the former couple said in a joint statement posted to Instagram on July 3.

According to court documents obtained by People magazine, Summer filed for divorce from Jon in Tennessee in May. She cited "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split. Jon and Summer are parents of two daughters, Presley, 3, and Sienna, 2.

In 1971, there was no shortage of incredible music. Alongside the flashing top hits and star power of bands like Led Zeppelin, another British band was rising to meteoric heights. Formed in 1968, the band Yes took rock music to an entirely new level with some ahead-of-their-time sounds. Their large-scale concept songs, their impressive, experimental guitar work, and high-pitched vocals were the stuff of legend. And it's all thanks to the founding members, bassist Chris Squire and vocalist Jon Anderson.

The band had numerous ups and downs over time, with various members joining and leaving, including Anderson, who officially quit the band in 2008. Anderson went on to have an illustrious solo career, collaborated with other artists, and is still touring today. The History of "I've Seen All Good People"

By the time Yes' third studio album was underway, the band had proven they could take things instrumentally to new heights.American Songwriter details that Steve Howe replaced founding member Peter Banks on guitar, they were practically bleeding money, and they were forced to play a lot of shows throughout the album's production. That extra pressure worked in their favor; they ditched their previous trend of covering songs and wrote six originals, two being a part one and part two of the song we love today, "Your Move" and "I've Seen All Good People."

Anderson is responsible for the first part, while Squire handled the second. The song itself is plainly written about strategic moves on a chessboard that actually represent the perils of war, which was very much happening at the time.

Today, the lyrics still prove to be relevant, and the fact that we are blessed enough to be in the same timeline as Anderson to still hear it from him feels a little bit like a miracle.

Finn Wolfhard opens up about the difficulties of finding fame at a young age. 

The now 23-year-old spoke with The Guardian about how his world changed after starring in the Netflix original Stranger Things. 

The hit series aired in the summer of 2016. When a 13-year-old Wolfhard returned to school in Vancouver, everything was different. 

“People didn’t know how to treat me, especially the teachers,” the actor said. “Kids that didn’t even look at me before were paying attention to me or wanting to hang out.”

He remembered a time when a girl a grade above him asked for a photo. 

“And I was like: ‘Oh, I can’t really take photos at school.’ And she wasn’t listening to me and pulled me into, like, a side hug,” Wolfhard recalled. “I remember thinking: ‘Shit, man. I have no control over this. This seems crazy.’ So, it was definitely weird at first, and something I still haven’t totally grasped.” 

Stranger Things aired five seasons between 2016 and 2025. The show starred many young actors, including Millie Bobby Brown, GatenMatarazzo, CalebMcLaughlin, SadieSink, and NoahSchnapp. Wolfhard shared that they struggled with having “public-facing jobs at such young ages.”

The actor spoke about how many important adolescent milestones happened on screen. Brown and Wolfhard have both said that their on-screen kiss was their first kiss. 

“I’d kissed a girl when I was maybe in second grade [when he would have been seven or eight], but it wasn’t real at all,” he said. Ultimately, Wolfhard wanted to do a good job,“So, weirdly, I was not nervous for the actual kiss. I just was like: ‘Oh, it’s part of the thing, part of character.’”

He continued that he and his castmates had to navigate fame in the era of the internet. 

“I still had a large chunk of my childhood that had nothing to do with technology or being judged by someone else or anything like that,” he shared. 

“But now I look at gen Alpha: even though most of them have normal school lives, all of them have Instagram, so they all kind of do have public personas in a weird way – being ‘famous’ isn’t that far out of reach because it’s normal for the younger generation to like get that kind of dopamine hit at such a young age.”

A legendary music icon is returning to one of his most memorable destinations after more than a decade away.

Elton John announced that he will return to Mexico City for two special farewell performances on Friday, October 2, and Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Estadio Banorte, marking his first major return to the city in 14 years.

For longtime fans, the announcement is a long-awaited moment. The singer, 79, previously performed in Mexico City during his career-defining eras, including two shows at Azteca Stadium in 1992 as part of The One Tour. His most recent Mexico City appearances came in 2012 for a pair of intimate "Elton & Ray Cooper" shows at Auditorio Nacional.

Now, the five-time Grammy winner is returning for what is being described as a special celebration of his decades-long connection with Mexican fans.

"Mexico City has always held a special place in my heart," John said in a statement.

"I was truly disappointed that the pandemic kept me from touring Latin America during my Farewell tour which makes this return especially meaningful. I’m thrilled to finally share this very special moment with my fans after all these years."

The performances come as John continues to celebrate a career that has spanned more than 50 years. With countless hit songs, record-breaking tours and one of the most recognizable catalogs in music history, the singer remains one of the most influential performers of all time.

The Mexico City shows are expected to bring fans from across Latin America and beyond for a final chance to experience the superstar live in the city.

Ticket presales begin Monday, July 13, with general sales starting Thursday, July 16, at 12 p.m. local time in Mexico City.

VIP packages will also be available, offering options such as premium seating, piano photo opportunities, preshow hospitality and exclusive merchandise.

Savannah Guthrie had her fellow Today co-hosts doing a double take during Tuesday's live broadcast after she unexpectedly disappeared for a few minutes and returned looking completely different. The surprising moment left the rest of the panel shocked.

Guthrie, 54, kicked off the morning wearing a light blue dress while co-anchors Jenna Bush Hager, Dylan Dreyer, and Sheinelle Jones all arrived in yellow. Even Craig Melvin got in on the color theme with a yellow tie. During the "Steals and Deals" segment, Jill Martin came out in a yellow dress—and Guthrie finally addressed the color scheme.

"You guys, did you really have a memo? I’m changing," Guthrie said before pretending to leave the set in frustration. Moments later, Guthrie emerged on the plaza with her friends and she'd changed into a yellow dress.

"I love that you just found this yellow dress," Dreyer said.

"I did, girls! I wanted to be with my ladies," Guthrie replied.

"Oh my God, you changed that fast," Melvin said, taken aback by Guthrie's outfit change.

The unexpected wardrobe swap quickly became one of the lighthearted highlights of the morning broadcast, with everyone on set laughing over how quickly Guthrie managed to pull it off. The spontaneous moment also showed just how close the Today team has become, as the anchors continued joking about the color coordination while moving on with the rest of the show.

Before the end of the show, Bush Hager said that the anchors would be wearing yellow on Tuesdays—a possible nod to Mean Girls, where the Plastics famously wear pink on Wednesdays. Guthrie quickly embraced the idea, revealing that yellow is actually her favorite color.

The storyline dynamics of Twilight may never escape Robert Pattinson, as a recent interview for The Odyssey had him revealing why his movie character is drawing comparisons to a Quileute main character.

Pattinson joins the extensive cast of A-list stars starring in Christopher Nolan's upcoming epic, with the actor playing the role of the sleazy Antinous. Based on Homer's Odyssey, Antinous is depicted as one of the most arrogant of the suitors vying for Penelope's (Anne Hathaway) hand. In an interview with MTV on the movie red carpet, Pattinson was asked how "fun it is to play a character that everyone is not rooting for."

While many may see his on-screen character as a villain in the story, the Twilight actor thinks differently. He revealed that he thinks fans "will be rooting for him" instead, and it all ties back to his breakthrough role in the 2008 vampire film.

“I keep comparing. It’s kind of like Jacob in Twilight," he explained, in relation to Taylor Lautner's role in the franchise as one-third of the romantic triangle opposite Pattinson and Kristen Stewart.

As die-hard fans know, Twilight follows Bella Swan (Stewart) as she moves to Forks, Washington, to live with her police chief father. She finds herself in the midst of the supernatural in the small town after capturing the interest of vampire Edward Cullen (Pattinson) and his family. Her childhood friend Jacob Black (Lautner) also harbors a family secret as a werewolf, as all three characters embark on a complex love triangle.

According to Pattinson, Antinous's role in the Odyssey has a similar concept. Antinous tried to court Penelope as her husband, Odysseus (Matt Damon), is presumed dead after a dangerous journey.

“What The Odyssey is about, Penelope can’t make her mind up between the two guys,” Pattinson explained. “And I’m just trying to help her make a decision.”

The actor then looked into the camera and joked that fans shouldn't take Antinous's evil ways too seriously because "it’s fine, he’s dead. Get over it!" What exactly happens to Antinous in the Odyssey, fans will have to watch the drama unfold in theaters or through the original source material.

Our bodies naturally change as we age, something you’ve likely noticed first-hand. For example, muscle mass and bone density both start decreasing as early as around age 30, which is why strength training becomes increasingly important in middle age. 

You may also notice that the same workouts you did when you were younger make you feel winded more quickly. This is because blood vessels and arteries can stiffen with age, which increases the heart’s workload. Lung capacity also slightly declines as you get older, which can make physical exertion more taxing than in the past. 

Joint pain also becomes more common with age, which can make high-impact exercises like running, rope jumping and burpees painful for some because of the compressive force they put on joints.

This doesn’t mean you should stop working out once you reach a certain point in life; it just means you might have to change the way you exercise. For example, swimming is notoriously easy on joints and a great way to stay active. Walking is another type of exercise everyone can benefit from. There’s one walking workout in particular that seniors can benefit from, which physical therapists and a personal trainer explain below.

The Walking Workout That Supports the Body as We Age

When it comes to walking workouts, many people assume that faster is always best. But tai chi walking—which is slow and mindful—is proving to be a walking workout many people can benefit from, particularly senior adults.

“Tai chi walking is a mindful way of walking rooted in the principles of tai chi. It may look simple from the outside—slow steps, gentle weight shifts—but internally a lot is happening,” says Raymond Li, NASM, CPT, a personal trainer and tai chi teacher at Manhattan Tai Chi.

Li explains that tai chi walking includes body alignment in the tai chi bow stance, which is the rotation of the long axis of the body (the imaginary vertical line running lengthwise from head to toe), single-leg balance, weight-shifting control and body and breathing coordination.

Why Tai Chi Walking for Seniors Is Worth Trying

Regie Tiu, PT, a physical therapist and founder of Restore Plus Physical Therapy in Long Island City, New York, says that tai chi walking has many benefits for senior adults. “Tai chi builds strength through slow, controlled movements instead of using heavy weights. It strengthens the muscles without stressing the joints that come with heavier lifting and high-impact exercises. The slow pace also trains balance and coordination, which most seniors need,” he tells Parade.

Physical therapist and Out Wellness founder Dr. Syd Young, DPT, PT, adds to this, saying that one reason tai chi walking is beneficial for seniors is that it can help improve balance, which in turn reduces the risk of falling.

“When you walk tai chi-style, you shift your weight fully onto one leg before the other foot ever leaves the ground, and you place each step down slowly and deliberately. That trains single-leg stability, ankle and hip control and proprioception—your body’s sense of where it is in space—which are the exact systems that erode with age,” Dr. Young explains. 

Li adds to this, saying that tai chi walking depends on several systems working together: muscle and joints, posture and alignment, coordination, nervous system response and body awareness.

“As we age, these systems often decline—especially if we become more sedentary. Tai chi walking helps by training all of them at once,” he says. 

Dr. Young highlights a 2019 scientific study showing that a therapeutic tai chi program reduced falls in high-risk older adults by 58% compared with a stretching program and by 31% compared with a conventional multimodal exercise program.

Li explains that tai chi walking is so effective for reducing falls because it improves balance during weight transfer, explaining, “Many falls happen during transitions when shifting weight from one leg to the other, turning or changing direction. Tai chi walking trains these transitions in a slow, controlled way.

And according to Li, tai chi walking strengthens muscles and joints that support stability, including the core, thighs, hips, glutes, calves and ankles.

All three experts say that, unlike running, tai chi walking is low-impact, so it doesn’t put pressure on joints—another reason why it’s particularly beneficial for senior adults.

“This matters because joint pain is one of the biggest reasons older adults stop moving, and inactivity then accelerates the very decline they’re worried about,” Dr. Young says, adding that the American College of Rheumatology and Arthritis Foundation strongly recommends tai chi for knee and hip osteoarthritis in their clinical guidelines.

How To Try Tai Chi Walking for Seniors

Before you try tai chi walking, Tiu recommends working with a physical therapist if you have poor balance because tai chi walking can be risky since you have to hold your weight on one leg. That way, you can work on building your strength and balance with a professional before trying tai chi walking. Dr. Young adds to this, saying that anyone with a history of falls, dizziness, neuropathy or a recent surgery should see a physician or a physical therapist first.

As with learning any new skill, Li recommends seeking out a tai chi walking class, if possible. To find one, do a Google search for tai chi that includes your city or town. Many local gyms, parks and senior centers also have tai chi walking classes. 

When you first start this exercise, Dr. Young suggests trying it alongside a stable countertop until the single-leg movements feel steady. Before trying walking, Li recommends getting comfortable standing on one leg first. Once that feels safe, you can try tai chi walking. Dr. Young adds that it’s important to wear no-slip shoes.

Remember: This practice is meant to be slow. “The biggest mistake I see seniors make when doing tai chi is not moving slowly enough. I see people rush through it just so they can get the movement done,” Tiu warns.

Just like with other forms of exercise, Dr. Young emphasizes that consistency matters if you want to reap the benefits. “Five to 10 minutes a day does more than one long session a week because balance is a skill your nervous system rebuilds through frequent practice, and the fall-prevention evidence shows benefits grow with practice duration and frequency,” they say.

Tai chi walking is an exercise you can do no matter how old you are. It’s a lifelong activity that will help support your body as it continues to change. The more you do it, the more balanced and stable you’ll feel on your feet.

As 70% of Americans are searching for “summer party” this season, they might actually be hunting for the right tracks. To make it easier, experts at HelloMillions analyzed Spotify data to reveal the songs set to start the party this summer time. And you can guess which one topped the list.

To do this, data was collected on the following metrics for the 20 most-followed U.S. party playlists on Spotify:

1. Playlist appearances — the number of playlists each song was featured in
2. Danceability (0-100) — a measure of how suitable a track is for dancing
3. Spotify Popularity (0-100) — the platform's own metric reflecting how many times a track has been played recently, with 100 being the most popular
4. Tiktok usage — the number of videos using the sound

Each variable was then given an appropriate weight and a final Party Song score was calculated for each track: Playlist Appearances (45%), Danceability (25%), Spotify Popularity (20%) and TikTok usage (20%). Songs were ranked by their final Party Song score to produce the definitive list.

The data revealed Usher’s “Yeah!” tops the ranking as the top party song for 2026, scoring 9.37, and highest danceability score with 89/100. Close behind is “No Broke Boys” by Disco Lines and Tinashe (8.27), the most recent track in the top 5, with the highest Spotify popularity of any track at 93/100 — proving that a modern dance hit can still rival the classics. 

Everyone has their own distinct tastes when it comes to comedic subject matter, with comedians themselves certainly no exception.

Yet even then, Jerry Seinfeld's intense dislike for one unnamed comedian's work goes above and beyond pure comedic preferences, as seen from his fiery criticisms of the comedian on a 2019 episode of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

In said episode, Seinfeld appeared alongside fellow comedian Bridget Everett, who began discussing a personal friend who also happened to be a fellow comedian.

Hearing the name of the comedian in question, Seinfeld went on a lengthy tirade about Everett's friend, criticizing his stand-up routine and the comedian's own differences with Seinfeld's comedic style.

"I don't like him at all. At all," Seinfeld started by saying. "I had kind of forgotten about him, and then there was a little article about him in the paper, and even in that there was a veiled reference to his dislike of what I did. It didn't have my name, of course."

"He used to rail against comedians because they weren't as 'wild' and 'dangerous' as he was, because he sucked," Seinfeld continued. "He wasn't funny. And that's why he didn't get anywhere, period."

"Because in comedy, nobody gives a f**k if you're cool, if you're lame. If you're funny, you win. If you're not funny, you don't. And he's not funny. That's why he had to do that stupid f**king voice, because you have no f**king act."

While the comedian's name is bleeped out in the final edit of the episode, many fans have speculated that the talent in question is Bobcat Goldthwait, based on various context clues and the two comedians' decades-long feud with one another.

The shrill-voiced comedian best known for his work in films like Hercules, Scrooged and Police Academy, Goldthwait has long been outspoken about Seinfeld's comedy routine, as well as Seinfeld's controversial relationship with 17-year-old Shoshanna Lonstein when the comedian was 39-years-old.

"For the ones who are curious, this is about Bobcat Goldthwait," one YouTube account commented in the clip of Seinfeld's tirade. "At the beginning, I thought it was about Dice Clay but after a small search it is clear it is about Bobcat."

"Jerry’s voice stays at the same pitch and he still has the same comic delivery but when he hears Bobcat’s name you can almost see his pupils dilate," another fan similarly said.

"Jesus Jerry, PLEASE tell Bobcat how you REALLY feel!" another user remarked.

Twenty years ago today, one of television's most beloved detective comedies made its debut.

Psych premiered on USA Network on July 7, 2006, introducing viewers to Shawn Spencer (James Roday Rodriguez), whose extraordinary powers of observation convinced the Santa Barbara Police Department that he was psychic, and his best friend Burton "Gus" Guster (Dulé Hill), who reluctantly joined him in solving increasingly bizarre mysteries. Over eight seasons, three movies and countless running jokes, the series built one of television's most devoted fan bases.

To celebrate the milestone, Great Entertainment Television is airing a special fan-voted Psych marathon on Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. ET. Fans voted online for their favorite episodes, with the 16 winning installments making up the anniversary event.

Part of what made Psych so enduring was its unique blend of mystery, comedy and pop culture references. Shawn's ridiculous nicknames for Gus, the hidden pineapple tucked into every episode, and a steady stream of memorable guest stars became beloved traditions that kept fans watching long after the show's original run ended. The series was also the highest-rated scripted basic cable premiere of 2006 and eventually spawned three reunion movies, with additional films reportedly still in development.

The fan-selected marathon includes several episodes that are consistently ranked among the show's very best.

The lineup kicks off with the spooky fan favorite "Scary Sherry: Bianca's Toast," before revisiting the telenovela-inspired "Lights, Camera… Homicidio" and the tense hostage episode "Gus Walks Into a Bank."

Among the biggest highlights is "Dual Spires," the acclaimed Twin Peaks tribute featuring guest appearances from several stars of David Lynch's cult classic: Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Dana Ashbrook, Robyn Lively, Lenny Von Dohlen, Catherine E. Coulson and Ray Wise. Fans will also get another visit from suave master thief Pierre Despereaux, played by Cary Elwes, in both "Extradition: British Columbia" and "Extradition II: The Actual Extradition Part."

Sunday's lineup features several of the series' most acclaimed episodes, including the Hitchcock-inspired "Mr. Yin Presents…," the musical mystery "High Top Fade-Out" featuring Boyz II Men on the intro, the Clue-inspired "100 Clues" with Christopher Lloyd, the unforgettable singing competition parody "American Duos" starring Tim Curry and the wildly popular "Last Night Gus," which many fans consider one of the funniest episodes of the entire series.

Although Psych concluded its original run in 2014, its popularity has only grown in the years since. The show's cast has reunited for three television movies, and series creator Steve Franks has previously said he hopes to continue the franchise with additional films, giving longtime fans reason to believe Shawn, Gus and the rest of the Psych detective agency may not have solved their final case just yet.

The iconic British rock band UK, formed by influential members from bands like King Crimson, Yes, Roxy Music and Soft Machine, has earned its place among the greatest supergroups of all time.

The legendary quartet was among the 23 all-star lineups listed by BBC Music Magazine as one of the most celebrated supergroups ever formed.

While Emerson, Lake & Palmer, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Asia and Cream secured the top four spots in the ranking, UK landed at No. 5.

Described by the publication as a “ferociously talented prog supergroup,” the band was founded by drummer Bill Bruford and bassist John Wetton, both former members of King Crimson.

Completing the original lineup were violinist and keyboardist Eddie Jobson of Roxy Music and guitarist Allan Holdsworth, forming a powerhouse lineup that quickly became one of progressive rock's most acclaimed groups.

UK made its debut in 1978 and released its self-titled debut album, U.K.

With its members bringing together decades of musical experience and influence, the album peaked at No. 65 on the Billboard 200 and No. 43 on the UK Albums Chart.

The album includes the band's hit track "In the Dead of Night," which the keyboardist and electric violinist once described as the band's “signature song.”

“In The Dead of Night was probably the song that came together the quickest and easiest, which is probably why it became the U.K.’s signature song,” Jobson mentioned in an interview as reported by Music Aficionado. “I brought the piece in as a virtually complete three-part suite—mostly written out on sheet music—but it turned out to be one of those songs that everyone just started playing and it immediately worked.”

Shortly after the album was released, guitarist Allan Holdsworth left in 1978 due to creative differences.

At the same time, Bruford also left the band to rejoin King Crimson. He was then replaced by Terry Bozzio from Frank Zappa's band, creating the second lineup of UK alongside Wetton and Jobson.

The trio released their second and final album, Danger Money, in 1979.

Although the album received positive reviews, the band disbanded the following year after struggling to achieve significant commercial success.

Following its disbandment in 1980, UK held its first reunion tour 31 years later, performing in New York City and staging a special four-night residency in Tokyo.

At the time, the lineup featured Wetton and Jobson with backing musicians Alex Machacek on guitar and Marco Minnemann on drums.

Fifty-two years ago, legendary rock star Elton John released "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me"—a hit that became a timeless soft rock anthem and experienced a major resurgence 17 years later.

Released in the U.S. on June 10, 1974 as the lead single from his eighth studio album, Caribou, the track became a massive hit. Upon its release, the single climbed up the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at No. 2 during the summer and holding the spot for four consecutive weeks.

Despite never officially claiming the No. 1 spot during its original run, the track achieved the feat 17 years later with a live duet version. During a George Michael concert at Wembley Arena in 1991, Michael brought John out onstage as a surprise guest. The pair performed an electrifying rendition of "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me," eliciting a thunderous crowd response.

Following the show, the duo decided to release the live duet rendition of the song, dropping it as a single on November 20. The duet provided the final push the song needed to top the Hot 100 chart, holding the No. 1 spot in both the U.S. and U.K.

Aside from chart dominance, both versions of the song experienced major critical recognition. The original 1974 version earned two Grammy Award nominations at the 17th Annual ceremony for Record of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Performance. At the 1993 Grammy Awards ceremony, the live duet version was nominated for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals—attesting to the track's lasting ability to bridge generations of music fans.

Produced by Gus Dudgeon, "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" is recognizable as a quintessential power ballad for its building score. The track starts slow, with John's vocals crescendoing from a whisper to a soaring vocal climax by the end. Accompanied by John's signature acoustic piano and a marching rhythm section, the track's grand atmosphere perfectly complements its vulnerable lyrical themes of emotional burnout and identity struggles.

When thinking about timeless songs about heartache, one song stands out: Eric Carmen wrote "All By Myself," which would be a hit release for him and another music icon decades later.

"All By Myself" was released in 1975 as part of Carmen's self-titled debut album, but the catch was that he developed the track using an old recording by the Raspberries. The power ballad was developed shortly after Carmen left the power pop group, with him having reportedly written the solo section first over two months.

Carmen needed more to get the track fully developed and was struck with inspiration using Sergei Rachmaninoff's second piano concerto. There was a slight issue when he adapted the melody for his own track. The composer's work was in the public domain, and Carmen believed there were no copyright issues in using it. He had no idea the concerto was protected in other countries and had to come to an agreement over royalties.

Alongside the concerto, a previous hit by the Raspberries, "Let's Pretend," was also used to develop the chorus of "All by Myself." According to SmoothRadio, Carmen felt the Raspberries track didn't go as far as he had hoped and thought, "I'll go back and steal from myself for this."

The track was praised by critics as a superb rock ballad that landed at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No.1 on Cash Box. For Carmen, the ballad focused on lost love, friendships, and loneliness, with him calling the track "miserable."

“There’s not nearly as much fuel in being happy as there is in being miserable,” said Carmen, according to American Songwriter. “Being miserable is a great catalyst for songwriting, for me anyway."

When it came to the song's effect on people, the musician said it's self-explanatory once hearing it. He explains that "you’d know what the song was about, and it’s an emotion that everyone has felt at some point in their life. Therefore, it’s a song that goes immediately to your heart. The lyrics are as simple as I could possibly make them. Sometimes my melodies are so dramatic that if the lyric is that dramatic, it’s overkill."

"All by Myself" would become a soft rock anthem and pop culture sensation that would be covered by multiple artists. One of the most recognizable covers was done by none other than Celine Dion in 1996. Her "out-of-this-world voice" was praised by critics as one of the few capable of lifting the song's emotional chords. Dion's cover would land her at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No.1 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Some books take a while to gain popularity, while others skyrocket to stardom shortly after publication.

Published on Sept. 30, 2025 by Grove Press in the U.S., the book has cemented itself as one of the most popular books in recent history, despite being published less than a year ago.

Shortly after its release, Heart the Lover was nominated in the Readers' Favorite Fiction category of the 2025 Goodreads Choice Awards. Earning an average 4.2 stars out of five at the time of writing, the beloved book has received rave reviews from Goodreads users, with many proclaiming to to be their favorite book of the year.

Announced Tuesday, the Law and Order: SVU icon will be taking the stage at the 78th annual Emmy Awards in September as emcee for the ceremony.

“Bringing important stories into the light has been the heartbeat of my career," she said in the announcement. "It’s my great honor to host the 78th Emmy Awards — in the 100th birthday year of my beloved NBC — and celebrate this extraordinary community of storytellers."

"Whether it’s an actor or a director, a costumer or a sound designer, we are all so privileged to take part in creating television that unites us," she added. "Regardless of how, where or when we watch, we are together in our laughter, our tears, our love of stories — and our delighted anticipation to see what happens next.”

According to Variety, Hargitay will be the first woman to host the ceremony in 15 years. The most recent woman to host the award show was Jane Lynch in 2011 when the Emmys aired on Fox.

Hargitay, 62, is of course synonymous with her dozens of seasons on crime drama which has been airing since 1999. Her role as Olivia Benson has scored her an Emmy award of her own along with several nominations.

“Mariska is one of television’s most beloved stars, whose talent, authenticity and extraordinary connection with audiences have made her an enduring force in our industry and in culture,” Television Academy chair Cris Abrego said in the announcement. “We’re so delighted to have her join us as the host of this year’s Emmys telecast and know that she will create an unforgettable evening honoring the very best of television.”

Recently, Hargitay metaphorically turned in her badge for a bit as she made her Broadway debut in Every Brilliant Thing in May during a six-week run that just wrapped. Last year, she directed and starred in My Mom Jayne, a documentary which followed her process of learning about her late mother Jayne Mansfield.

The awards ceremony will air live on NBC and Peacock from Los Angeles' Peacock Theater on Monday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET.
