Happy Pet Turkey Goes Viral for His Flirty Routine at the Local Chick-fil-A Window
Turkeys don't get enough credit for being absolute show-offs. People act like they are just awkward birds with dramatic timing and questionable voices. But anyone who has spent real time around one knows they're fully capable of developing a personality, a routine, and apparently a favorite drive-thru staff member.
This turkey’s name is Goose.
And Goose does not do casual.
@goosingtonsmom🦃🗣️ Goose always shows up and shows out for his ladies at @Chick-fil-A!! As soon as we hit the drive thru the happy dance is happening. We love them there! #fyp #foryoupage #foodtiktok #petsoftiktok #chickfila
♬ original sound - Goose’s MomThe video opens on what is clearly not his first appearance at the Chick-fil-A window. The second the car pulls into line, he's already warming up for his performance. His person practically has to check the roster like this is a regular customer situation, asking if Alicia is working because, yes, Goose would like to know if his favorite girl is on shift before he commits to the full happy dance.
That detail alone is enough to send me.
The post makes it pretty clear that Goose always shows up big for the ladies at the drive-thru, and once you watch him, you understand that this isn't an exaggeration. He's not just along for the ride. He is the event. This bird has a whole flirt routine, and he's fully prepared to deploy it the second the window slides open.
That is what makes the clip so good.
It's not just “look, a turkey in a car,” which would already be funny. It's “look at this turkey with a social calendar and a preferred customer service experience.” The whole thing has the energy of a tiny-town celebrity making his weekly appearance, except instead of sunglasses and an iced coffee, it's feathers, enthusiasm, and the unmistakable vibe of somebody who knows exactly how charming he is.
One commenter imagined the employee conversation perfectly, basically picturing someone inside saying there's a turkey here asking for Alicia, and honestly, yes. That's the movie. That's the sitcom. That's the kind of detail that takes a funny clip and turns it into one people send around all day.
And Goose earns it.
What I love most is that nobody in the video seems surprised by his commitment. The people at the window know him. His person knows him. Goose definitely knows Goose. That is the sweet spot for viral animal content—when the animal isn't doing a random one-off thing, but clearly living inside an already-established little world of habits, relationships, and ridiculous personal preferences.
Also, the name Goose for a turkey is so rude and perfect, I can barely stand it.
Some animals become internet-famous because they do one weird thing once. Goose feels bigger than that. He feels like a local legend who just happened to get discovered by the rest of us.
Why Male Turkeys Strut and DanceWhat makes Goose’s whole Chick-fil-A routine extra funny is that male turkeys really are built to put on a show. Strutting, puffing up, displaying feathers, and doing those exaggerated little performance moves are part of how they communicate confidence, attract attention, and interact socially. In other words, Goose may be a pet with a favorite drive-thru, but the “show up and show out” instinct isn't exactly coming from nowhere.
Scientific American has written about turkey social behavior and cognition, including how much more socially aware and expressive they are than people usually assume.
Goose didn't invent peacocking. He just brought it to the Chick-fil-A window.

Pomeranian Mix Who Looks Like a Teddy Bear Hilariously Demands Cheese Platter for Dinner
My dogs love almost all foods. Sure, they turn their noses up at lettuce and pass up any scraps of broccoli on the floor, but both my Doxie and my Pug mix scarf down almost anything edible once they see or smell it. While they aren't overly picky, they both have a special place in their hearts for cheeseburgers. Then again, who doesn't?
Teddy is a Pomeranian mix with a true love of cheese, so much so that he often debates his mom on having an entire selection as his main entrée for dinner. Despite the adorable back-and-forth between the two caught on video, many followers were distracted by the precious pooch's uncanny resemblance to a teddy bear.
@teddythedukepart 2 🤭
♬ Originalton - Teddy 🧸🤎In the TIkTok from @teddytheduke, the precious Pom mix stood in front of his mom and vocalized his undeniable need for cheese.
"The discussion continues: me and my dog having a disagreement about whether he can have a cheese platter for dinner," the onscreen text explained as Teddy seemed to give several reasons in support of his case.
While he made a convincing argument, Teddy's appearance is what caught most people's attention. Some followers lobbied for the canine cutie to get his dietary cravings met, while others pointed out his fluffy likeness to a stuffed animal. Some even thought he mirrored a popular Star Wars character.
"Pretty sure that’s Paddington Bear without his clothes on," one noted.
"Pay the cheese tax immediately," another demanded.
"Your Ewok is very cute," a follower remarked.
"That’s not a dog, that’s a teddy bear. Also the cutest one I’ve ever seen," someone pointed out.
"He’s made a solid argument," a fan posted.
Teddy's Cheese Wish Was GrantedA follow-up post revealed that Teddy was quite persuasive and provided with a full cheese platter for dinner. The Pom mix received several expertly-cut slices of cheese, along with an array of cucumbers and tomatoes.
@teddythedukeAntwort auf @maddie 🪩✨☕️ part 3 of the cheese plate saga 🧀
♬ Originalton - Teddy 🧸🤎The assortment was drizzled with a creamy dressing for added flavor. Apparently, Teddy conducted a full filibuster for the special food.
"After hours of negotiations, I had to give in and my dog finally got his cheese plate," the onscreen text read.
Teddy obviously has a knack for getting what he wants, especially when it comes to meals.

Meet Jimmy Dean, the Rare Munchkin Maine Coon Cat Capturing Everyone's Attention
Jimmy Dean, the unique kitten, looks like somebody accidentally put Maine Coon software into an extremely tiny little body, and honestly, the result is almost too cute to process normally.
The fluffy Tabby kitten is going viral because of his short little Munchkin legs combined with full-blown Maine Coon fluff, which creates the visual effect of a tiny furry caterpillar slowly waddling across the floor.
@sandmountaincoons ♬ Excuse Me Sir - SomefrenchienamedapolloThe TikTok video, shared by @sandmountaincoons, shows the adorable Jimmy Dean toddling around on his tiny stubby legs while looking deeply proud of himself.
And honestly, the walk alone is enough to emotionally destroy people.

At Different Moments in the Video:• His giant, fluffy paws shuffle forward.
• His tiny legs work overtime.
• His Maine Coon fur puffs out dramatically.
• He somehow looks both majestic and extremely small at the same time.
• Everyone watching immediately starts making involuntary squeaking noises.
• “So absolutely adorable!”
• “I’ve always wanted a Maine Coon and a dwarf kitty. Both in one!”
• “What a baby doll.”
• “Cuteness overload. I need one.”
• “OMG, look at that fluff!”
• “Jimmy Dean is a cool name.”
“Munchkin/Maine Coon? This is a real breed?”
And honestly, a lot of viewers seemed equally confused because Jimmy Dean really does look like somebody combined two completely different cat settings together.
Meanwhile, my Maine Coon, Meatball, already moves like a shaggy ottoman with legs, so seeing a much shorter version somehow makes the entire situation even funnier.
What To Know Before Considering a Munchkin Maine Coon Mix @adnimh15 ♬ Cute - BensoundMunchkin Maine Coon mixes are not officially recognized as a standard breed, but they combine traits from both Munchkin cats and Maine Coons.
Potential Pet Parents Should Understand That These Cats May Inherit:• Short legs associated with Munchkin cats
• Large, fluffy coats of Maine Coons
• Playful social personalities
• High grooming needs
• Potential joint or mobility concerns
Some veterinarians and cat experts have raised ethical concerns about breeding cats specifically for shortened legs because of possible long-term health impacts.
Anyone considering specialty cat breeds or mixes should research carefully and work with responsible breeders or rescue organizations that prioritize health and welfare.
That said, judging by Jimmy Dean’s tiny, fluffy walk, this little guy already has the internet completely wrapped around his tiny paws.

10 Signs Your Cat Is Emotionally Attached to You
Cats have a reputation for being independent, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t deeply attached to their humans. According to veterinarians, cats often show emotional attachment through small, subtle behaviors that are easy to overlook.
Dr. Chyrle Bonk, DVM, a veterinarian contributor for Embrace Pet Insurance, says that cats absolutely can show love and affection toward their people—just in different, more subtle ways than dogs. Instead of obvious displays, their emotional attachment shows up in everyday behaviors like where they choose to sleep, how they respond to your presence, and whether they seek you out during calm or stressful moments. These quiet signals can reveal a level of trust and connection many owners don’t fully recognize.
Understanding these behaviors and how your cat communicates can help you better interpret your cat’s actions and see just how strong your bond really is. Below, Dr. Bonk explains the key signs your cat is emotionally attached to you—and what each behavior reveals about their level of trust and comfort. See how many your kitty does!

10 Signs Your Cat Is More Emotionally Attached to You Than You Realize A cat who is emotionally attached to its pet parent and loves affection. If you’ve ever wondered what your cat is really thinking, the answer often shows up in small, everyday behaviors. According to Dr. Bonk, these subtle actions can reveal if a cat is bonded to you. Here are 10 signs to look for.
1. They follow you into a roomIf your cat consistently follows you from room to room, it may be more than simple curiosity. According to veterinarian Dr. Bonk, this behavior can be a sign that your cat is emotionally attached and seeking both comfort and attention.
“Cats don’t just rely on you for food and care—they also look to you for affection and security,” Dr. Bonk reveals. “Following you around can be a way of staying close to someone they trust, as well as satisfying their curiosity about what you’re doing.”
In many cases, a cat that chooses to stay near you throughout the day is showing that your presence itself is reassuring and important to them. In other words, it means your cat loves you.
2. They show you their bellyCats don't go belly-up for just anyone. Most cats don’t expose their belly unless they feel completely safe. If your cat rolls over and shows you their stomach, it can be one of the clearest signs of trust and emotional attachment.
According to veterinarian Dr. Bonk, the belly is one of the most vulnerable areas of a cat’s body, which is why they instinctively protect it. “It doesn’t have any bone or thick protection, so cats are naturally cautious about exposing it,” she explains. “When a cat shows you their belly, it’s a sign they feel safe enough around you to let their guard down.”
While not every belly exposure is an invitation for petting, it often signals that your cat trusts you deeply and feels secure in your presence.
3. You hear your cat purring near youWhy do cats purr? When your cat purrs while sitting close to you, it may be more than just a sign of comfort—it can indicate emotional attachment and that they feel secure with you.
Dr. Bonk explains that cats often purr in the presence of people they feel safe with, linking the behavior to contentment and bonding.
You sit down for a moment, and your cat quickly decides your lap is the best place in the house to be. It may seem casual, but this kind of behavior is often a strong sign of comfort and bonding that many pet owners may not realize.
In fact, Dr. Bonk shares that cats naturally avoid situations they don’t feel safe in, so choosing to settle directly on you is a meaningful signal of trust. It shows they not only feel secure in your presence, but actively prefer it.
In many cases, lap-sitting is less about convenience and more about closeness—your cat is choosing connection over distance. How sweet!

5. They 'make biscuits on you'If your cat presses and kneads their paws into your lap or chest, it may look playful—but it often signals deep comfort and emotional security. That's why it's considered a cat bonding sign.
“Kneading is a behavior that stems from kittenhood as a way to stimulate milk flow when nursing,” Dr. Bonk notes. “Some cats maintain this behavior into adulthood and use it when they’re feeling that same contentment and security that they felt with their mother.”
In many cases, cats continue this behavior with people they associate with safety and affection. Dr. Bonk adds that making biscuits on you is often a sign your cat has accepted you as part of their trusted circle or “family.”
6. They rub against your legIf your cat rubs against your legs when you walk in the room, it’s more than just a greeting—it can be a combination of affection and communication.
“Rubbing against you is a cat’s way of gathering information about where you’ve been and who you’ve interacted with,” Dr. Bonk explains.
It’s also a behavior linked to scent marking, which helps cats create familiarity and comfort in their environment. “It serves as a way to spread their scent on you, essentially marking you as part of their social group,” Dr. Bonk adds. “When a cat rubs against you, it’s both a greeting and a sign that you are an important part of their life.”
7. They do a slow blinkIf your cat looks at you and slowly closes and opens their eyes, it’s one of the cutest signs of trust and affection. Though, it's easy to miss this subtle display of love from your cat.
"If they’re slow blinking when you’re nearby, it conveys that you make them feel secure and content, not on edge or worried," Dr. Bonk says. "Slow blinks may also be accompanied by purring or kneading."
So, take a peek at your cat during your next cuddle session and see if they are trying to talk to you with their eyes.
8. They play with youIf your cat suddenly starts initiating play with you—chasing, pouncing, or bringing toys—it’s more than just entertainment. It’s often a sign they see you as someone they trust and enjoy spending time with. It's a sign they feel like part of your family.
“Just like a kid at the playground, cats pick their favorite playmates,” Dr. Bonk notes. “If they play with you, it means you’re one of the people who make things more fun and engaging. It also shows they trust you not to do anything scary or unpredictable.”
Play behavior is often one of the clearest signs that your cat feels both safe and connected to you.
9. They stay in the room when you walk into itThe room may feel a little different the moment you enter—but your cat chooses to stay anyway. According to Dr. Bonk, that's a cat love signal as cats are naturally cautious animals that tend to avoid anything they perceive as threatening.
Because of this instinct, choosing to remain in the same space as you can be a meaningful sign of trust. “Staying in the room with you shows that they know and feel safe around you,” Dr. Bonk explains.
10. They gently nip youIf your cat gently nips or mouths you during interaction, it can be surprising—but in many cases, it’s actually a form of social bonding behavior.
“When a cat gently bites you, it’s often because they are mimicking social grooming, something they do with other cats,” Dr. Bonk says. “It can be their way of showing acceptance and familiarity within their social group.”
In many cases, this behavior is a sign your cat feels comfortable and close to you, though it should always be gentle and not painful.

Fort Worth Fire Department Gives Homeless Veteran’s Pit Bull a New Home—and a New Family
Tom faced the most impossible choice. Keep the dog he loved, or make sure that dog got the care he deserved.
He chose his dog.
The letter Tom left at the Fort Worth Fire Station 8 alongside his beloved pit bull,Jake, explained the tragic situation. Tom is a U.S. military veteran who’s currently experiencing homelessness. While working to get his life back on track, he could no longer provide the care his fur baby, Jake, needed. The impossible decision broke his heart, but the "Safe Place" sign at the station gave him hope.
He ended the letter with the words that still move the firefighters who read them: "If you really care about helping babies, please help my baby."
@fox4newsdallasfortworthThe Fort Worth Fire Department has adopted a dog recently left at their station by a veteran experiencing homelessness who could no longer care for the animal. The station worked to find a home for Jake before ultimately deciding to adopt the dog as one of their own. Now, the Fort Worth FD is working with Jake's former owner to get him medical assistance and a place to live through their HOPE Team.
♬ Inspiring Melody - Celestial SymphonyThe Fort Worth Fire Department did just that.
The Fox4 Dallas Fort Worth TikTok shows Jake settling into his new life at Station 8. "Spend a few minutes at Station 8, and you think Jake had always been a part of the crew," the report says. "He's a fixture here already, and we love him."
One firefighter described his reaction when reading Tom's letter: "Touched my heart. I think all the guys here at the station were moved by it."
Jake is living his best life. But the story doesn't end with just finding Jake a home. The Fort Worth Fire Department also reached out to help Tom, too.
"While the guys here at Station 8 have done a great job with Jake, my team's thing is for those experiencing homelessness," a team member explains. "So we've met with him, we're getting connected to the resources that he needs, and hopefully getting his life back on track."
Through their HOPE Team, the department is working to get Tom medical assistance and housing.

The comments captured just how deeply this story resonated with everyone:
"I can't. 'Please help my baby.' Good on y'all! Veterans deserve the world."
"Imagine how having Jake there at the station will help the firefighters mentally and emotionally after coming back from a stressful call."
"Speaks volumes about all of them to help Jake have a safe loving home and help his previous family get their life back on track."
"What unconditional love that man had to put Jake's needs above his own and make sure he was cared for."
"This is what humanity looks like!!!!!"
And there's still hope for a reunion between Jake and Tom. According to the comments, Tom received help, and they're planning to reunite once everything is settled. One commenter heard on DFW radio that a charity helped Tom get stable so he can potentially be reunited with Jake.
Why Fire Stations Often Adopt DogsJake isn't just a pet at Station 8, he's providing something all firefighters desperately need: emotional support after traumatic calls.
According to the Alliance of Therapy Dogs, firefighters are exposed to the kinds of trauma that most people will never see in their lifetime. In 24-hour shifts, they can face wildfires they can't control, patients they won't save and scenes they’ll never be able to forget. Even the strongest and most seasoned first responders need ways to decompress.
Research by UCLA Health shows that interacting with therapy dogs provides real mental and physical health benefits: elevated mood due to hormone release, lower anxiety, reduced loneliness, increased mental stimulation, lower blood pressure, and improved cardiovascular health.
A study by the American Journal of Critical Care found that just 12 minutes spent with a therapy dog provided greater improvements in heart patients than 12 minutes with a human volunteer.
Fire departments nationwide are opting for adopting dogs for exactly this reason. They become fixtures at stations because they provide something absolutely irreplaceable: comfort without judgment, companionship without demands, and unconditional love exactly when it's needed most.
Tom understood all of this when he wrote that letter. He knew in his heart that Jake could be someone's "baby"—that Jake had love to give and would be loved in return.
The Fort Worth Fire Department proved him right in the best possible way. They took care of Jake. And then they took care of Tom, too.
This is what humanity looks like.

“Basset Hounds have a low-key, loving nature that makes them great for couples who aren’t looking for a high-energy companion,” notes Bonk.
Instead of long runs or intense activity, Basset Hounds prefer relaxed walks and plenty of couch time with their owners. Their strong sense of smell also makes “sniff walks” especially enriching and mentally stimulating for them.
Bonk notes that their need for companionship means they don’t like being left alone for long periods, so they often thrive in homes where care can be shared between partners. This Mississippi Dog’s Piercing Sea-Blue Eyes Have the Internet Hypnotized
Some dogs are cute.
Some dogs are photogenic.
And then there are the ones who look like they know an ancient secret and are deeply unimpressed that the rest of us are only just catching on.
That is Boone.
View this post on InstagramIn the video, Boone is stretched out on the couch, looking less like an ordinary family dog and more like a White Walker who retired from Game of Thrones and now prefers soft furnishings and admiration. His eyes are that startling, icy, light blue that makes people stop scrolling so fast they practically sprain a thumb. The post jokes that Boone has discovered he's a celebrity now, and if his expression is any indication, he's not especially rattled by the news. If anything, he seems mildly annoyed that everyone is acting like this is new information.
That is what makes the clip work so well.
Boone isn't trying.
He's just lying there being wildly, unfairly beautiful in a way that feels almost fake. One commenter basically summed up the universal reaction: Yes, he is a sweet baby, yes, those eyes are ridiculous, and yes, the whole internet is now emotionally involved. That's the exact kind of dog content people cannot resist. A dramatic face, a couch, and one visual detail so strong it does all the work on its own.
View this post on InstagramBut it isn't just the color.
It's the vibe.
Boone has the energy of someone who has been told he is handsome his entire life and has long since made peace with the burden. He's not mugging for the camera. He's not giving eager puppy vibes. He's giving “may look, but please don't be embarrassing about it.”
Honestly, fair.
That contrast is what sends it over the edge. Those unreal eyes paired with that deadpan couch pose make the whole thing feel less like a pet video and more like a fantasy casting call somebody accidentally uploaded to social media. Mississippi may not be where most people expect to meet a mythical-looking dog, but Boone is clearly here to expand horizons.
The clip has the one thing viral pet content really needs: immediate impact. You don't need context. You don't need a backstory. You just need one look at Boone, and suddenly you understand why everybody is talking about him.
Some dogs wag their way into the spotlight.
Boone just stares.
And apparently, that is more than enough.
View this post on Instagram Why Some Dogs Have Such Striking Blue EyesBoone’s look feels magical, but blue eyes in dogs usually come down to genetics, pigment, and coat pattern rather than mystery or movie casting. The AKC notes that blue eyes can be linked to certain genes and patterns, including merle and other inherited traits, and that very pale blue eyes can also appear in some rare cases of albinism.
Boone didn't ask to look like the final boss of winter. He just woke up gorgeous and let the internet deal with it.

♬ You've Got A Friend In Me (Cover Version) - Geek MusicMany dogs naturally develop nurturing or protective behaviors around kittens and smaller animals, especially if they have gentle temperaments or strong social bonding instincts.
Dogs May:• Carry kittens gently
• Sleep beside them
• Lick and groom them
• Follow them constantly
• Become protective around other animals or humans
• Treat them like puppies or babies
Careful supervision is still important during introductions, especially with very young kittens.
But judging by Duke, this little Orange Kitten may have accidentally acquired the world’s most emotionally invested Hound Dog nanny.

Family Adopted an Adorable Newfoundland Mix Puppy, Then Watched Him Transform Completely
Some puppies are so cute and fluffy that it’s hard to imagine what they’ll eventually grow into. At first, they have blue eyes, fur that seems glued down, and paws that seem far too big for whatever they will eventually grow into. But then they do grow into those features, and when you think back to their puppy days, the journey to adulthood and the changes the puppy went through make sense. But sometimes you come across a dog who absolutely surprises you with how different they are when they leave their puppy days behind.
That’s what we see in this video of a sweet Newfoundland mix who looked like the definition of a cuddly little teddy bear, with soft fur and oversized paws. But as time passed, his appearance changed in ways no one expected. It’s absolutely fascinating, take a look!
@aliltostyI thought he’d be bigger than this 🤦🏼♀️ #newfoundlanddog #mixbreed #corgi #fyp
♬ original sound - Mr. TimTikTok user Lila (@aliltosty) shared a video of her beautiful dog, a very interesting and unusual mix of two very different breeds. It's hard to see at first what two breeds this adorable pup is a mix of when he's chewing on his toy while lying on the blanket. But the second the clip changes to a video of the same dog standing, and we can see his whole body, that's when the whole thing makes sense.
This dog is "built like a coffee table" because he's a mix of a giant Newfoundland, which we can see in his beautiful coat, and a Corgi. And there is no mistaking the Corgi genes in him when we get that whole-body look.

In the comments, people fell in love with this pup and his unique mix, with many saying that they can see both breeds in this one dog.
One person wrote, "That is a Newforgi. Very rare. Not… sure how it worked. Physically."
Another shared, "Anything mixed with a Corgi is just a Corgi wearing the other breed’s jacket."
Someone else added, "Corgi mixes always look like a short version of whatever else is in the mix; those short leg genetics are strong."
Other comments included, "Is he an Incorgnito?" "People keep saying Corgi… but that chest is all Basset Hound," "Congratulations on your Temu package," "There is nothing stronger than the genes of a Corgi," and "Why is he in lowercase?"

Newfoundland Dogs Are Known for Their Charming PersonalitiesThere's no question this pup is an interesting breed mix we don't see very often. They look very different from each other, with one being far larger than the other. But Corgis and Newfoundland dogs have one thing in common: a charming personality.
According to the American Kennel Club, Corgis are known for being "loyal, affectionate, and smart," and the Newfoundland dog is described as "devoted, sweet, and patient." The two are very similar in their affection for family and their good nature with young kids, but they differ in their barking levels, with the Corgi being far chattier than the Newfoundland.
With this cute pup being a perfect mix of the two breeds, it's kind of a guessing game to see whether he will inherit the barking level traits of his Corgi half or his Newfoundland half.
Rescued Cockatoo Who Can't Fly Gets to Experience the Great Outdoors Thanks to Her Mom’s Sweet Idea
Birds deserve just as much special attention as their more stereotypical pet counterparts.
Sweet Pea, a beloved Cockatoo, was adopted by Wendy Albright off of Craigslist in 2020. When Wendy brought Sweet Pea into her home, she had almost no feathers and copious amounts of plucking damage to her body. Because of the severity of the damage, specifically to her wing follicles, unfortunately Sweet Pea has permanently lost her ability to fly.
But her new mom has the perfect solution to make sure Sweet Pea still gets ample opportunity to stretch her wings. Literally.
@theparrotladyWatching my cockatoo flap her wings outside in the sunshine is a sight I never tire of seeing. Sweet Pea can’t fly due to her past wing plucking but I still want to give her the experience she deserves ❤️ #cockatoo #parrot #outdoors #adventure
♬ A Simple Life - MorunasAs shared on TikTok, Wendy will take Sweet Pea out and about in a harness and leash, letting the Cockatoo walk alongside her and even mimic flying while on her arm. She even brings her other parrot, an African Grey named Brody, along with in a backpack so he gets some fresh air, too.
Over time and with care, most of Sweet Pea's feathers have regrown and her spirit has clearly returned. She visibly loves her walks outside and as Wendy said, "Watching her flourish and enjoy the outdoors makes me so happy."
Commenters on the video clearly agree saying:
"Awww she's thriving!"
"I wish all pet owners were like you!"
"She is such a treasure."
Sweet Pea Is an Internet StarSweet Pea is an utter internet sensation helping garner almost 50 million likes to Wendy's TikTok account alone. While Wendy does share her other pets, Sweet Pea in particular took off (no pun intended) when a video of her affection for dogs went mega-viral in 2021 and 2022. The latter has been viewed over 69 million times, making Sweet Pea a digital household name. Wendy features her prominently on TikTok, as well as on YouTube.

Rescue Dog Turned Princess Pup Throws a Fit When Her Pillow Isn’t Fluffed Right
When you rescue a dog, the main thing you want to do is make them feel like a "regular" dog. They may have had a really rough start in life, so it will be tough to get them to adapt to life in a forever home, but in time, they get there.
One rescued Pit Bull has definitely made herself comfortable in her forever home. Her mom lets her sleep in bed with her, which is wonderful, except that this princess has formed a lot of opinions about her pillow situation:

- Demanding.
They bond fiercely with their loved ones, and Pit Bulls love to have things their way. Now run along and fluff your dog's pillow! They deserve it!

This DIY Backyard Cat Paradise Actually Looks Like It Cost a Fortune
Cats often ignore the expensive toys and decorations you buy for them. With that thought, one man decided to go in a completely different direction.
Think about this for a second. A cat bed can last several days before it becomes a decoration, and your cat naps on any other object in the home. A cat tree can last a week before it turns into an expensive coat rack.

So, this cat dad decided to stop buying things and start building with his own hands. In a video posted online, this devoted dad transformed his backyard into what we can say is a five-star feline resort.
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/EPR0xi_ukWM
His DIY cat paradise features climbing structures, shaded rest areas, plants, textures, and everything in between. It is the type of outdoor setup that will make many cat parents feel jealous.
Building a DIY Cat ParadiseWhen you look at the final product, this build is more than just a pretty cat area. This cat dad put thought into the entire setup. He installed elevated platforms for watching the yard, shaded spots for warmer days, and enough varied terrain to keep his cats engaged.
He also added some plants. One commenter flagged the plants as a potential risk, saying, "Cats love pushing plants, cups, or whatever else is on a surface, off. Hopefully, the plants will stay put."
Hopefully, these plants survive.
Putting Your Cats FirstThe response in the comments cut straight to what made the video land: "Love this guy — how he thinks of making life beautiful for his furry angels."
This is a cat parent who thinks deeply about his animals' environment, not just their food bowl and litter box.
Another viewer put it more simply: "There's no doubt in my mind that these cats know you're doing this for them."
Watching the footage as the cats play around, even as he is building their paradise, it is hard to argue with that comment. The cats in the video look like they belong there.
Why Outdoor Enrichment Matters For CatsUsually, indoor cats live longer than outdoor cats, but mainly because of the lower risk. Yet, being indoors without enrichment creates more challenges for pet parents. Cats are hunters by instinct. They need to climb, observe, stalk, and occasionally destroy things. A flat apartment with a window gives them very little of that.
Outdoor enclosures, which pet parents call "catios," provide access to fresh air, natural light, and plenty of bird-watching opportunities.
You don't need to build what this guy built. Even a screened porch with a few shelves and some safe plants makes a real difference in a cat's daily experience.
Whatever you try to build, pay attention to how cats move. Not how you imagine they move. Your cats might not get a full backyard resort. But if there's a sunny windowsill that needs a wider shelf, or a wall bracket that could hold a platform, this video is your starting point to think about how to provide more enrichment for your feline friend.

Rescue Cat High-Fives Mom for Saving Her—and It Feels So Right
Adopting a cat is not easy at all, even if you find your soul cat. Rescue cats have special needs, and for the first few weeks after you adopt them, things are going to be difficult. They have to adjust to you and life inside their home, but over time, you can trust that they will get there.
One rescue cat decided to seal the deal with her mom in a very interesting way: a high five. It's one of the only tricks she knows, but she pulled it out in order to say thank you:
@kibble_slingerCountless people walked by her every day, and no one stopped to help. By the time we got there she was barely clinging to life. She was gasping for air with an upper respiratory infection, had lost a litter of kittens resulting in an infected uterus (pyometra), and an infected foot where she was missing half a toe. Sadie is why TNR saves lives. She would have died on the street. Instead she is loved and cared for by the Sunshine Pines community. She even has a boyfriend, our colony king Papa. Please choose kindness today so we can continue to give Sadie the life she deserves, and help other cats that need TNR and vet services (we just spotted loose kittens in town!). You really do make the difference and we can’t do it without you. #cats #lovecats #tnrworks
♬ original sound - kibble_slingerThe Kibble Slinger definitely earned that high-five. Clearly, as a kibble slinger, she's the one feeding all of these cats, so they all trust her.

This kitty's name is Sadie, and her story is so sad. She's a member of a feral cat colony, and she was in very rough shape. She had a respiratory infection, an infection in her uterus after she miscarried a litter of kittens, and an infected foot. And still, no one helped her until the Kibble Slinger came along.
Sadie's colony lives on their new property, which they had no idea about when they moved in. There are 43 cats in the colony, and they've begun the very important, humane TNR process for all of them. There's another cat in the colony whose eyes really show how tough this life can be:
@kibble_slingerSo they left all the cats, but how did we get here? It all started when we humans met by chance when a stranger saved my life In 2020 that stranger turned husband survived an accidental gsw to the head at a home renovation. He woke from his coma completely paralyzed except for one thumb & said he wanted to ‘rescue a ton more cats.’ The doctors told me he would never leave the hospital. I told them “you don’t know us.” After 3 brain surgeries, a stroke, countless complications, seizures and five years of fighting, he can walk. We bought a little house way out in middle of nowhere so we could build a micro farmstead & cat sanctuary.. It just came with a few surprises - more than 40 sick, starved, pregnant & unfixed cats & kittens running loose! With the love and support of viewers like you, we've been able to fix, feed, shelter, and vet all 40+ survivors. We’ve also been able to help TNR cats in our local community & have plans to build a mobile TNR/Pet Pantry &storm rescue vehicle to bring help further into remote mountain communities here. Currently we’re sorting through medical issues(9 stomatitis kitties), allergies, socialization, infrastructure (building catios & making the house more fun), growing a food supply, and setting up Meemaw merch (out now)! Please help us, two disabled folks (I’m 4th generation Ehlers Danlos/heds, POTS & more) help this massive kitty family live their best grain free lives -both of us have Celiac Disease, but CatDad has TBI related gluten seizures so we have to be super strict! That means we need grain free food, World’s Best Cat Litter & other supplies from our wishlist because with a family this large, it really does take a village! We just can’t do it without you. #cats #rescuedcats #catcolony #sunshinepinesrescue
♬ Our Love Was Beautiful - Instrumental Version - Straight White TeethThis is so sad. I feel awful for them, but I'm glad someone who cares about them finally has them under control. For most of them, TNVR is the answer.
Why TNVR Saves LivesTNVR, or Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate, and Release, is a very common method for aiding feral cats, especially in rural communities. There is no equal access to vets, shelters, or loving homes everywhere, after all.
Image via Shutterstock / Vera Aksionava
TNVR is vital to keeping cats safe, even indoor cats. Unfortunately, there are not enough homes in the world to take in all the stray cats, and even if there were, they're most likely not going to be equipped to handle feral cats. TNVR does not take the cats off the streets permanently, but it:
- Prevents mating, inbreeding, and overpopulation.
- Stops the spread of diseases.
- Gives the organization a chance to see if the cat is in need of urgent care.
So, while TNVR doesn't end with a loving home, it is absolutely a lifesaving procedure. If you're looking for a way to help feral cats around you, please consider joining a TNVR organization!

This Adorable Asian Dog's Reaction to Meeting an American for the First Time Is Too Cute to Pass Up
Not all dogs are golden retrievers, nor should they be. For some dogs, warming up to a person takes time. Even more if that person is different than anyone you have previously met.
For one dog living in Asia, meeting a white American was a complete surprise. He had never met someone like him before, so the moment he saw his dad's friend for the first time, he reacted.

A Name Fit for a Great DogThe dog, called Nyan, has a very specific name. He was found on the street around the new year. His dad took him and gave him a name that carried a meaning. His name means "year" in his dad's language. His full name, Da Nyan, translates to "a year of bountiful harvest/"
For a few months, he lived happily with his new dad. Then, a tall, pale, English-speaking American arrived at his house—and Nyan had questions!
Three Days of Pure SuspicionHis dad posted on Reddit's r/WhatsWrongWithYourDog, explaining that Nyan kept a careful, anxious distance from his dad's visiting friend. He explained, "He is being very nervous around him for the first three days."
There is a perfectly good reason for it. The friend, according to the dog's dad, is "very pale, speaks weirdly (he mostly speaks English), has lighter colored hair, and is really really tall."
That means for Nyan, the new guy has visual and spoken differences.
Related: Mama Was the 15-Year Shelter Dog No One Noticed—Until This Moment
Dogs Can Understand Different LanguagesOne Reddit commenter said that dogs don't always like hearing a new language. And the science backs that up. was onto something real. A 2022 study from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest used brain scans on 18 dogs to show that different brain regions lit up depending on the language they heard.
The study found that dogs can distinguish between a familiar and an unfamiliar language. Nyan, a dog raised in Asia, instantly recognized that the visitor spoke a different language. And that felt strange.
The Internet Had Its Day With NyanOne person said, "He's so pretty. He has nothing to be ashamed of — no one has ever regretted being too suspicious of us white folks."
Another said, "I would pet and give snacks to after he's done freaking out about me being white."
How Dogs Warm Up to PeopleNyan's three-day arc is not unusual for a nervous or street-rescued dog. Dogs that didn't have proper socialization as puppies, or those who spent time on the streets, often carry a wariness of unfamiliar appearances, sounds, or behaviors into adulthood.
What helps is when the new person ignores the dog entirely at first. Let the dog keep its distance, and make the first move. When curiosity begins to top anxiety, dogs approach people on their own terms, usually by sniffing from a safe distance.
Nyan took three days, but as his dad said, "Now he's warming up to my friend (a little bit, but it's progress because he's always scared of everything)."
For a dog that came from the streets, being scared of everything, slowly deciding that the tall, pale, English-speaking stranger might be okay after all is more than a small moment.

Heart to Tail Collapsible Pet Pool, $12.99 at AldiBack in stock after a bit of a hiatus, Aldi's Heart to Tail Collapsible Pet Pool last made its rounds in 2020, winning over fans for its easy setup and portable design. Now, it's returning in an updated form with vibrant summer colors like Watermelon, Blue and Teal. And with a price tag as low as $12.99, snagging one if you have the space feels like an absolute no-brainer.
So what do you get with your $13 purchase? For starters, a compact above-ground pool measuring roughly 31.5 inches in diameter and 7.9 inches deep. Best of all, there's no inflation required, and it folds down easily so you can pack it away for storage or travel purposes. Even better, it's simple to fill and drain, complete with a twist-off cap that empties the pool in seconds.

As a quick care tip, it's a good idea to trim your pet's nails before they hop in, to help keep the pool in great shape over time. The lightweight, foldable design makes it easy to move and store, but a little extra care goes a long way in keeping the vinyl sidewalls and base durable for the long run.
That said, because of its smaller size, some pets may enjoy it more than others, but that doesn't mean most breeds can't still have a good time. Whether it's used as a quick cold plunge for larger dogs or a wading pool for smaller ones, its compact size makes it easy to use in just about any outdoor setting.
With summer heating up, you and your furry friend will be glad to have something this convenient on hand. And if you have a small child, it can also double as a little wading pool. Just be sure to snag one fast when it arrives on Wednesday, May 27. And while you're at it, check out how 277 dogs just made history at the world's largest pool party in Miami.
Wildlife Experts Share the Most Common Mistake People Make With Orphaned Baby Animals
Warmer weather brings something that wildlife experts call "baby season." As the sun comes out, so do baby wild animals.
For many people, the first instinct is to help. But that might cause more harm than good. Naturally, when you see a baby animal, you assume the worst. But most of the time, these animals are not abandoned.
🐶SIGN UP to get "pawsitivity" delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾
Per the Humane World for Animals, it is important to assess the situation before engaging with a wild animal.
Per John Griffin, a senior managing director of urban wildlife at the organization, "While it is critical to provide care for animals in need of help, it is equally as important to assess the situation to determine whether intervention is truly necessary. Wild animals typically do best when they're raised by their parents."
Most people think they are being cruel by leaving the animal in need on its own. But that is not cruelty. You are being compassionate without context. And the context is what matters.
Related: One Man Went Searching for Wisconsin's Weirdest Bird Story—and Actually Found It
Baby Animals Are Not on Their OwnYou might not realize it, but in the wild, mothers leave their young hidden and unattended for hours at a time. This is their way of teaching survival instincts. It is not abandonment.
For example, a deer doe will visit and nurse her babies only a few times a day. They are trying to avoid drawing predators to their location. If you see a fawn lying still in tall grass, calm and quiet, that is completely normal. The young baby uses stillness as their defense.
Parade Pets covered a moment just like this recently, when a fawn walked directly up to a family during their stroll through the woods. The family did everything right: they watched, they marveled, and they walked away. That fawn was fine.
Baby rabbits follow the same logic. Mothers visit their nest only two times in a 24-hour period, at dawn and dusk. If you happen to find a nest of small rabbits in your yard, check whether the mother will come back. Do not intervene.
How to Tell When an Animal Needs HelpThere are real signs that a baby wild animal is in trouble. According to Humane World for Animals, those include: a featherless bird on the ground, a shivering animal, a visibly injured animal, one covered in parasites, or a baby crying continuously while wandering. Or, the biggest sign, a dead adult nearby.
If any of those apply, or if the animal has been in a cat or dog's mouth even briefly, contact a licensed wildlife rehabilitator.
Baby Foxes Are a Special CaseFox kits tend to look unsupervised when they're actually not. They'll play around a den site while their parents are out hunting. Sometimes, the parents can be gone for hours. If the kits look healthy and energetic, leave them alone. Call for help if the baby foxes look weak, or if you know for sure their parents are dead. The video below explains more about how foxes hunt.
Recently, we wrote about a family that discovered a red fox had made a den directly beneath their front porch. The kits were napping on the welcome mat. Their response was perfect: they watched from a distance, kept their cat indoors, and let the fox family do what fox families do.
What to Do If You Encounter Young Wildlife AnimalsAccording to the Humane World for Animals, every baby animal deserves different treatment. If you have already picked them, here is guidance on handling the situation.
A deer doe will still want her fawn back, even if a human has handled it. Your best action is to return the fawn to the exact location where you found it. Then leave the area, as the mother will not return while you are standing there.
If you find baby rabbits, wear gloves when handling nesting material. Then, use yarn or sticks in a tic-tac-toe pattern over the nest. Come back after 24 hours, and if the pattern has been disturbed but the nest is still covered, the mother has come back.
Most importantly, observe before you act, and when in doubt, call a wildlife rehabilitator rather than guessing.

Majestic Bald Eagle Struts Around Like a Diva in Her Hilarious 'Fish-Flops'
Animals don't really have clothes (unless we give them some). They're content with their fur, feathers, and scales, and usually don't even really like it when we do put clothes on them. They live life the natural way.
Well, except for one Bald Eagle. She recently decided it was time to make some shoes, so she used what she had, creating a new trend. Fish-flops! I don't think I could rock these, but she really makes them work:
@christinescritters‘Tis the season for FISH-FLOPS! We love when Aurora dons her fish-flops to get her fish to where she would like to eat lunch! #aurora #christinescritters #lovemyjob #dayinthelife #fishflops
♬ original sound - Christine’s Critters Inc.Christine's Crittersl include this incredible Bald Eagle, Aurora. Apparently, Aurora has been trying to bring fish-flops into style for a long time. She dons them almost every time someone gives her a fish, unless they give it to her in her favorite lunch spot.
They love seeing her fish-flops, so something tells me they typically don't give it to her in her favorite spot. So, when they don't, she picks it up with her huge talons and walks on it until she gets there. Not only is it super fashionable and funny, but it's also smart.

Miss Fish-Flops is currently going through it. It's molting season, and as the resident fashionista, she wants to be in top shape at all times. Thus, she never slacks off with her personal hygiene:
@christinescrittersAurora takes her personal hygiene VERY seriously, eapecially during molting season. Molting can be itchy business and leads to scratching itches and shaking out those feathers with a good rouse ❤️ #christinescritters #eagle #aurora #lovemyjob #dayinthelife
♬ Jurassic Park Theme - The Hit CrewSome people are concerned about her talon straps, but they're for her own safety. This is a wildlife rescue, so these birds (and other critters) can't live in the wild. If Aurora was to take flight and leave, things wouldn't end well for her.
How Eagles Protect Their FoodAurora's fish-flops are the best way to transport her food, and they're the best way to keep it safe. She's doing the best she can!

If an Eagle is going to move their food to eat it, whether they're eating it themselves or sharing it with their young, they're going to use their feet. It's much more efficient than using their beaks, because it:
- Offers security: they can pierce it with their talons to keep it steady.
- Helps defense: no smaller bird is going to try to wrestle a fish from those talons.
- Allows them to carry larger prey than with just their beaks.
Christine and everyone at her wildlife rescue love to see Aurora's awesome fish-flops, but one thing is important to remember: you can look, but you should never touch!

This Clever Cat Invented a Special 'Secret Language' Just to Communicate With His Blind Sister
The stereotype that cats are antisocial is exactly that, a stereotype. Cats can be incredibly affectionate, especially with each other.
Analia Serebrenik, who goes by @analia383 on TikTok, is a mom to two adorable cats, Fil andDoja. Doja does not have eyes, rendering her fully blind. But her brother, Fil, has created an entire feline language just to communicate with her and let her know where he is and what he's up to. Analia shared their special interactions on her social media.
@analia383 ♬ original sound - Analia SerebrenikThe little sounds Fil makes for Doja are distinct and not at all like a typical meow from your average cat. They're clearly specifically for her. Analia hypothesized in the video that they're his way of letting his sister know he's making sure he's watching over her.
Commenters on the post were quick to point out the uniqueness of the situation and Fil's communication style:
"That's almost identical to the sound that mama kitties make to call their kittens."
"I just saw a post that cats don't typically vocalize to each other, only to humans, so this is extra special."
"I hear 'I love you' in there...what a darling boy."
What Cat Vocalizations MeanEven without a blind cat sibling, cats have a plethora of different vocalizations that you can hear from them. The standard ones we're all familiar with; purring means a cat is content, whereas hissing means they're aggravated and warning you. But there are more in the mix, as well. Chirping can indicate excitement, trilling is a kind of a greeting, and the typical meow is the most common way cats communicate with humans. Yowling or howling is a sign of distress, something more high-pitched and sharp can mean they're surprised, and if your cat growls they're certainly telling you to "back off."
Most pet owners become incredibly tuned in to the different ways their animals communicate. It's pretty remarkable when you can learn the language that your pets have with each on top of the language that they use with you.
