This video from @sir.bentley5 on TikTok really makes it obvious that this Cockatoo might be the first who actually deserves to win an Academy Award. He busted out the fake crying and everything for Grandma, and she instantly fell for it.

And not only did one Grandma fall for it, but so did his other Grandma — this bird knows what he’s doing.

All it took was sounding as sad as he possibly could, and Bentley was showered with snuggles and had these ladies convinced that nobody had given him nearly enough treats. This is a master class in getting what you want, and Bentley is a pro.

Can Parrots Actually Manipulate People?

Parrots are incredibly smart animals, so it makes sense that they’ve figured out what they need to do in order to get what they want. But are they being manipulative on purpose?

The answer to that question is yes and no. Your parrot’s more human-like behavior is learned from the people they spend their time around. They are masters at mimicking,
and as The Guardian points out, that’s a behavior that first began in the wild. They learned by copying their flock’s sounds and behaviors, and now, their humans are their flock.

They’re also smart enough to keep track of the way we behave when they act a certain way. Clearly, Bentley has learned that acting all adorable with those fake cries around Grandma is all it takes to wrap her around his little finger (or claw, in this case).

Just remember that next time your parrot is trying to get a few extra treats out of you. And then give them the treats anyway, because how could you say no to such a cute face?

Gimble the 3-legged cat was recently brought to the NAWS Humane Society, where many expected his disability to make potential parents hesitant to adopt him. Yet Gimble managed to win the hearts of a young couple who were immediately smitten with the sweet kitten.

The TikTok from @franflight told Gimble’s story and how his chances for adoption looked slim at first.

“Gimble’s life was changed when he lost a leg,” the on-screen text explained. “So many people said it would take him a long time to get adopted regardless of how amazing of a cat he is.”

The 3-year-old cat lived with a family in a trailer park for his entire life until they moved and left him behind. Dealing with both abandonment and surgery to remove his leg, Gimble arrived at NAWS feeling completely lost and confused. Still, his sweet nature and playful spirit emerged and caught a family’s attention thanks to the power of social media.

“Gimble didn’t wait long at all,” the story continued. “It was actually the opposite… Gimble found his happy ending because of everyone who shared his story.”

Followers Spread the Word on Gimble

The video showed Gimble’s loving and friendly personality, where he clearly doesn’t let a missing limb slow him down. The pretty kitty won over numerous followers who reposted his story and wound up getting his forever home.

A young couple named Jordan and Cody made Gimble a part of their family, and proudly held him along with a sign sharing the good news. The TikTok creator shared her appreciation for the couple and the many followers who helped make Gimble’s dream come true.

German Shepherd puppies are known for being kind of crazy. They love to be loud, whine, and bite whoever is near: training will help, but their “land-shark” phase is just inevitable. It’s not just people, though.

It’s everything, including some foods. Blueberries, for example, presented a massive problem for one German Shepherd. When he saw one for the first time recently, he could hardly believe his eyes, and he tried his best to fight it off:

Bruce the German Shepherd clearly feels some type of way about blueberries. It was on the floor, and every time he looked at it, he got angry all over again! I don’t know what it is about this fruit! My youngest dog also loves to fight blueberries.

He just doesn’t understand it. Every time he touches it, it rolls away, and it’s weirdly smooth. He probably thinks it’s a tiny alien! Though we never see him actually eating it in this video, from experience, I can say he eventually got over it and ate the berry!

Can Dogs Have Blueberries?

Judging by the way dogs seem to love to fight blueberries, you’d think they were harmful in some way. However, blueberries are actually great for dogs in moderation, so hopefully, Bruce gets used to them!

Blueberries are rich in fiber, vitamins, and antioxidants that are great for dogs. They’re small, too, which makes them great for use as training treats instead of other, higher-calorie options. If your dog struggles eating blueberries without fighting them, you can:

• Crush them before offering them.
• Mix them into their food.
• Mix them with plain greek yogurt to make “pupsicles.”

Just be careful not to feed too many: they’re good in moderation, but they’re high in sugar. A few every day will be great, though, especially if they stop fighting them first!

It’s easy to be kind to a rescue dog or cat. They’re fluffy, affectionate and usually pretty obvious about wanting love. But I always have a soft spot for people who go out of their way to earn the trust of pets that aren’t quite so cuddly. Whether it’s a lizard, a snake or even a fish, there’s something really beautiful about watching someone patiently help a scared animal feel safe.

That’s exactly why I couldn’t stop watching this video. A rescue frilled lizard sits quietly while his new mom softly sings Laufey’s “From the Start,” and not only does she have the voice of an angel, but you can almost see the little guy relaxing as he listens. Volume up for this clip!

The heartwarming clip was shared by TikTok user @tabitha.eb, whose gorgeous singing provides the perfect soundtrack as she gently handles her newest rescue.

The caption explains that she wasn’t just serenading him for fun.

She went on to explain that she was taking him out because he needs to build muscle and gain weight while also helping him get comfortable being handled again.

According to his new mom, he wasn’t used to regular handling in his previous home. She was also quick to defend his former family, explaining that they were kind people who simply didn’t know how to properly care for a frilled lizard and had been trying to find him a good home for quite some time.

“I have no judgment toward them,” she wrote.

She added that he actually enjoys being taken out but still gets nervous at first because big movements are unfamiliar to him.

Watching the video, you can almost see that trust beginning to grow.

The comments were every bit as wholesome as the clip itself.

There’s nothing that makes me happier than a proud mom and her babies. Human, dog, or anyone else, I’m always so amazed by how much they love their babies! I must admit that I have a soft spot for dogs, though, and in particular, mama dogs who have just had puppies.

Recently, one Golden Retriever proved me right for that: when she had her puppies, she couldn’t wait to show them to her dad. She was so excited, but she wanted them to be fully appreciated, so she made sure to bring them one at a time:

I love that @the.rat278 doesn’t question his dog’s methods, nor does he try to lend a hand: she wants to show him her babies her way, and he’s cool with that. Funnily enough, everyone assumed he was a grandma, but he is not! He’s their very proud grandfather!

Though Mama’s name hasn’t been shared, it’s clear that she loves both her puppies and her dad very much. She knew they’d be safe, so she took her time and brought him all 8 of her puppies. She trusts him completely!

Honestly, if I were her, I’d feel the same way. Eight babies is so many, especially when they’re as needy as puppies are! I love that she’s right there, too. She knows she’s his baby!

Should You Co-Sleep With Puppies?

Clearly, the human in this situation hasn’t actually slept while the puppies were in his bed: he’s been making TikToks! The puppies have a very nice whelping box where they spend most of their time, except when their mom is dragging them out to say hi.

Breeders do not co-sleep with their puppies: first of all, they’re not really their puppies, and second, it’s dangerous. Puppies require temperature regulation that a whelping box, typically equipped with a heat lamp, provides. When a puppy gets to their forever home, co-sleeping is really not advised either because:

• The puppy could fall.
• You could roll over on them.
• The puppy could get stuck under a pillow.
• It could create separation anxiety.

Ideally, your puppy should have a separate sleeping space, especially when they’re really young. I had a “puppy jail” set up right beside my bed, so my dog could sleep, go potty, and play while I slept. Plus, I could stick my hand down and make sure she was still breathing when I got scared!

Orange Cats are often known for their wild behavior, but when it comes to sitting and being still, they also appear to be experts at that activity, too.

In a new viral cat video, an orange British Shorthair cat named Max sits in the most perfect cat loaf position you have ever seen, and viewers are absolutely astounded.

Why Do Cats Loaf?

Though this is an absolutely adorable thing that cats do, you kind of wonder why they do it.

Does tucking all your appendages under your body seem comfortable?

Well, it wouldn’t be for humans, but for kitties, it’s actually quite comfortable.

The loafing position can have different meanings, but contentment is usually the main one, and it means they’re very comfortable near you.

If you see a cat in this position, it typically means they are very happy.

Other reasons some felines like to loaf indicate that they trust you.

Some cats may also go into the loaf when they feel threatened, but that’s more atypical.

They also like the loaf position because it provides warmth (and this orange British Shorthair cat loaf does closely resemble some very warm bread).

When they put their appendages under their body, it helps conserve energy and heat.

If a kitty is sick or injured, they may also get into a loafing position, but changes in energy levels, appetite, or vocalizations usually accompany that move, so if they suddenly start loafing, keep an eye on it.

My Pug mix has a very thick double coat that’s the color of pure honey. With his tiny, floppy ears and buxom build, he resembles Simba from Disney’s The Lion King, especially with that gorgeous golden fur.

I know comparing a puppy to a liverwurst sandwich sounds completely unhinged, but hear me out. The second I saw this little guy’s brown-and-white spotted coat, that’s exactly where my brain went. Yes, Australian Shepherds are among the highest-energy dog breeds out there. Originally bred to herd livestock, they thrive on physical exercise, mental challenges and having a job to do. Without enough activity, they can become bored and invent their own entertainment…which isn’t always appreciated by their families.

Labrador Retrievers are also energetic, especially as puppies, so an Aussie-Lab mix like Rascal will likely benefit from plenty of walks, playtime, training sessions and puzzle toys to keep both his body and brain busy.

Garden season is in full swing. Every year since I was about 10, I’ve said to myself, “I’m going to start a garden,” and then I never do it. In my defense, it’s hard, and my backyard is a little… Blah.

The Outlet Ridge Homestead is no stranger to animals. They’re a homestead, after all! They have cows, chickens, dogs, and even tiny goats. A lot of the animals live in a barn together, and what do barns need?

Barn cats! Of course. There are several barn cats living on their property, and those barn cats recently had kittens. They’re little, but they’re officially in their explorer eras: they love to wander around the farm, particularly in the garden.

These little kittens are living their lives to the fullest, and that includes taking naps all around. They wander all around the property, but the barn has some of their favorite nap spots:

They’ll nap just about anywhere, especially in the barn, where there’s less of a chance of being rained on at random. Of their napping spots, I think my favorite is the food bowl. That’s just so sweet!

Do You Need Barn Cats?

The Outlet Ridge Homestead is home to several barn cats, and that’s how they like it. Though they’re outdoor cats, they’re not completely feral: they’ll go up to their mom, let her pet them, and follow her around the farm.

Barn cats aren’t technically a necessity on a farm. You can have one without them, but it will take a bit more effort than if you did have one (or more)! Barn cats are meant to kill rodents that get into your barn. If you don’t have them, rodents might:

• Soil your hay.
• Chew holes in feed bags.
• Contaminate the feed.
• Transmit diseases.

If you don’t want to have a barn cat, that’s totally okay: you’ll just need to spend a lot more time rat-proofing, and you’ll miss out on some garden fun. But hey, to each their own!

Dogs are well-known for their ability to show affection with humans. But it’s easy to wonder if that affection your pup dishes out means they feel close to you, or if they are just happy that you feed and walk them regularly. While every dog is an individual, your pup may have certain ways of showing they feel a deep bond with you that you’re just not picking up on since dogs communiate and talk in their own way.

You’re Greeted with a Wiggle Worm

If your dog practically turns into a furry noodle when you walk through the door, take it as a pretty good sign that they’re thrilled to see you. That full-body excitement can be one of the sweetest signs your dog loves you, according to Chyrle Bonk, DVM, a veterinarian at Embrace Pet Insurance.

“The full-body wiggle is a sign of ultimate happiness in dogs,” she says. “It allows them to release all physical tension, allowing their happiness to spread from tail to nose.”

The best part is, Bonk reveals these wiggles are usually reserved for your pup’s favorite person, aka you. Therefore, seeing them lets you know how close your dog feels to you.

You’re They’re Go-To Napping Spot

When your dog chooses to snooze near you, they’re showing more than just a preference for your favorite blanket. Where a dog chooses to sleep can offer a glimpse into the dog-human bond and how safe they feel around you.

“Sleep is a vulnerable time, so many dogs choose to rest near the people they trust most,” Myers says. But that doesn’t mean every dog who has a deep connection with you wants to lay on top of you or even touch you. “Some sleep pressed against your legs, while others are perfectly happy at the foot of the bed or across the room,” Myers says. “Individual preference matters much more than distance.”

They Show You Their Belly

A belly-up pup is basically putting their trust on full display. So, if your dog flops over, gets loose and jiggly, and happily exposes their belly around you, it can be a big clue your dog is attached to you more than your realize.

“Dogs don’t show their belly to just anyone,” Bonk explains. “It’s a very vulnerable part of their body, so showing you their belly means they feel secure around you and have complete trust in you.”

Of course, as Myers points out, sometimes this posture is also a not-so-subtle request for a belly rub, which is also a sign that your pooch feels connected to you and loves when you give them affection.

They Keep Tabs On You

If your pup seems determined to know where you are at all times, that shadowing behavior may be their way of staying close to you. In fact, how dogs show affection can look a lot different from the obvious kisses and cuddles we tend to expect. So, while it’s easy to feel frustrated when your dog wants to join you in the bathroom, just remember that shadowing you is simply your pup communicating that it wants to be with you, Bonk says. 

“Many dogs simply enjoy being where their favorite person is, so following you from room to room can certainly reflect a close social bond,” Myers says.

It’s also possible that your dog is simply curious about what you’re up to or maybe even feeling a little anxious, she says. “Ideally, a well-adjusted dog enjoys being with you, but is also comfortable relaxing when you’re briefly out of sight,” Myers notes. 

You’re Their #1 Snuggle Buddy

How can you know if your dog loves you as much as you love them? Watch their body language and behavior when they’re around you, especially their cuddlng style.

“Choosing to sit or lie close to you can be a sign of affection and trust, particularly if your dog approaches on their own terms and can move away freely,” Warner says.

‘This usually suggests that your dog finds your presence comforting and rewarding,” according to Myers. However, if your furry companion doesn’t like to cuddle, don’t assume you don’t have a strong bond with your pooch. “Not every bonded dog is a snuggler,” Myers explains.

To know if your dog is truly enjoying each day, it might help to understand that giving them a life worth loving is the first step. Though, that doesn’t necessarily mean buying them endless toys or planning elaborate adventures. “At the end of the day, dogs do not measure a good life by how many toys you buy them or how many extravagant adventures you plan for them,” Limazati says. “They find joy in the little things and by simply being near the humans they love.”

Learning to recognize these everyday signs of doggie joy can help you better understand your pup and spot the little behaviors that show your dog is happy, healthy and loving life.

1. They Do a Happy Dance When You Grab the Leash

Dogs are quick to learn that certain actions predict something fun, which is why grabbing the leash can trigger an instant burst of excitement.

“Those happy spins, tippy taps, zoomies and tail wags when you grab that leash mean your dog is predicting outdoor smells, perhaps a trip to the neighborhood park, a stop at the store that leaves the jar of treats outside their door and most importantly, one-on-one time with their pet parent,” Limazati gushes. “Happy dances for the leash mean you have established a positive association with going outside the front door with your dog.” 

That goofy burst of excitement is more than just adorable, it can be a joyful sign that your dog has learned to associate time with you and the great outdoors with something positive.

2. They Suddenly Appear When You Open Something That Holds Food

You know your dog has heard that refrigerator door open from three rooms away when they suddenly appear at your feet. For a dog, that enthusiastic response to mealtime is one more clue that they’re engaged with the things they enjoy.

“Congratulations, this means your dog has trained you successfully,” Limazati declares. “The action that predicts food is about to appear is quickly learned by healthy, happy dogs. As a trainer, I love seeing dogs get excited when they can predict food is coming, not only because it means they are easily motivated to train, but excitement around food also means your dog is healthy and thriving.”

Limazati points out that a loss of appetite or interest in food is often an early sign your dog isn’t feeling well.

“So, when your dog comes running because they know dinner is coming, celebrate it and don’t forget the cheese tax,” Limazati smiles.

3. They Do a Full Body Wiggle When You Walk In the Door

Few things are more unmistakable than a dog’s entire body wiggling with excitement when their favorite person walks through the door.

“A loose body wiggle with an enthusiastic greeting tells you that your dog feels safe, comfortable and genuinely happy to see you,” Limazati says.  For me, it also confirms that your dog understands that your home is their home. After all, they’re not just saying hello here.  They are, in fact, celebrating your return home.”

That full-body enthusiasm is exactly the kind of funny and adorable sign that shows your dog’s happiness and is easy to spot.

4. They Give You a Play Bow

This behavior isn’t quite a sign that your dog worships the ground you walk on, but it kind of is. Limazati says that dogs who regularly invite you to play by dong this are confirming that you two have a beautiful connection. After all, the play bow is one of the most recognizable ways dogs invite each other—and their favorite humans—to have some fun.

“They’re saying, ‘Whatever I do next is all for fun,’” Limazati reports. “This is their way of inviting you to interact with them, play with them and be silly with them. These are the spontaneous moments with your dog that you will remember forever.” 

A dog who regularly invites you to play is showing more than a desire for a game, it’s a little burst of joy that can be one of the biggest signs they’re loving life.

5. They Follow You Everywhere—Even to the Bathroom

If your dog follows you everywhere, including places where you absolutely do not need an audience, take it as a compliment. After all, since dogs are social creatures, Limazati says they often love being with the people they trust the most, like you.

“Following you from room to room often means they’re comfortable, curious, and they are seeking companionship, rather than being ‘needy,'” Limazati notes.

As long as your dog can relax stress-free when you’re not home, Limazati says having an adorable supervisor is merely a sign that your dog loves life with you and can’t wait for what happens next, like folding those fascinating socks they’ve had their eye on. In other words, being your little shadow can be one of the more amusing signs your dog is glad to share life with you.

6. They Sprawl Across Your Bed Like They Own It 

While it may not leave much room for you, your dog’s silly bed-stealing behaviors are actually a sign they adore you.

“If your dog has claimed your bed—and somehow 90% of the mattress space—they’re probably not just stealing the covers,” Limazati explains. “Choosing to stretch out beside you when they are at rest is the ultimate signal of trust, safety and comfort.  In other words, they chose you as their safe place.”  

So while your dog may be stealing your favorite spot, they’re also showing they are feeling good by choosing to spend their downtime close to the person they love.

7. They Sleep—A Lot 

No, your dog is not telling you that you’re “boring” by cat-napping the day away. Getting plenty of quality sleep is actually an important part of a healthy, happy dog’s life. When plenty of sleep is simply part of your dog’s normal routine, those peaceful naps can be another somewhat silly and unexpected sign that they’re feeling good and enjoying their day-to-day life.

Limazati reports that most healthy adult dogs sleep 12-14 hours a day, and puppies and seniors sleep even more. Yet, she says dogs have to feel safe and comfortable in order to rest and drift off into a slumber. “A relaxed snoozing dog is often a wonderful sign that they feel secure in their home,” she reveals.

That said, Limazati says it’s important to know your dog’s “normal” because lots of snoozing isn’t always a sign your dog is living their best life.

“If your normally energetic dog all of a sudden becomes unusually sleepy, lethargic or uninterested in activities they usually enjoy, it’s a good idea to contact your primary veterinarian,” Limazati urges.

How To Care for a Bernedoodle’s Curly Coat

This Bernedoodle puppy, in addition to looking just like an assortment of desserts, also has a beautiful curly coat.

So how do you keep that curly coat healthy and fluffy?

For curly and wavy-haired Bernedoodles, grooming should really be a daily practice.

Unlike straight hair, curly and wavy hair on a Bernedoodle is more prone to matting, so these pups need to be brushed out every day or every other day.

Using a slicker brush, be sure to get behind the ears and under the legs as well. These areas get matted and tangled more easily than others.

Bernedoodle parents also need to be diligent about baths, nail trims, ear cleaning, and grooming appointments.

Start grooming Bernedoodle puppies young, like this little one, so they get accustomed to all these hygiene practices and associate them with positive experiences (use treats and praise!).

I have walked my dog past a lot of strange neighborhood sights, but Fiona, the Giant Schnauzer, casually strolling upright on two legs, would stop me in the street.

Anyone who’s gotten a kitten can tell you that kittenhood doesn’t last nearly long enough, as cats age quickly and reach their maturity around 18 months of age. Growing rapidly, kittens hit new milestones practically every week for over the first year of their life. From birth to adulthood, there are many changes a kitten will experience, and as their human, it’s your job to know what to expect.

The Main Stages of Kittenhood:

• From birth to two weeks is the neonatal stage, when kittens are fully dependent on their mom or a bottle. At this point, their eyes and ears will be shut, and they cannot regulate their own body temperature.
• From three to eight weeks, as their eyes open up and they begin to learn to be more independent, they start to learn how to socialize and grow in their mobility. Their teeth begin to come in, and this is when they can start to learn how to use a litter box. This is also the stage in which weaning to wet food can begin, and first vet checks can occur.
• When they become a “teenager” between three and six months, their baby teeth will start to fall out; they’ll become substantially more playful, and they’ll begin learning the hierarchy between themselves, their humans, and other animals in their life.
• From six to 18 months, a kitten progresses from being a baby to a young adult. This is when they’ll reach sexual maturity and spaying or neutering can occur, and this is also when they reach full behavioral maturity.

Cat/pet ownership is a huge commitment, and it’s important to make sure you’re educated and aware of what is going on with your furry friend no matter their age. It’ll set you up for a successful and delicious life with your pet!

First and foremost, the best advice to stay safe from potentially poisonous frogs is to make sure no one touches the frog at all. Keep your grass cut short, and eliminate any standing water where frogs might congregate and breed. It’s always amazing to see hummingbirds flitting about outside your window. Hummingbirds can be very skittish and tend to fly away rapidly before you can get within a foot of them. Hummingbird Drinks Straight From Person’s Hand

In a video on her YouTube page, Just Jamie shows herself holding a small, bright container with a yellow and red flower on top. While sitting on her porch, one of her resident baby hummingbirds, whom she lovingly names Donut, shows up in frame. She takes a few sips out of the center of the plastic flower before flitting away, allowing herself to be captured on camera. She comes back for a couple more seconds, prompting Jamie to declare that she thinks she likes her. I would have to agree.

 You truly have to be a special person to build that kind of trust with a hummingbird. It is truly awe-inspiring to see a little hummingbird sip from the container in her hand before flitting off, presumably returning to the flowers outside the porch or to her family.

How to Attract Hummingbirds to Your Yard

While establishing the level of rapport it would take to have a hummingbird drink out of your hand may be a daunting task, attracting hummingbirds to your garden is a much easier undertaking. If you would like to have hummingbirds flitting through your garden daily, make sure you plant flowers with bright pink, red, yellow, orange and even purple flowers. These colors often attract hummingbirds to the area, and they will spend quite a bit of time moving from flower to flower, collecting nectar. 

If you don’t have a lot of room for plants in your yard, you can also attract hummingbirds with brilliant feeders, much like the Nature’s Way Window Hummingbird Feeder from Tractor Supply. You can have them hanging off your eaves or on your porch. If you don’t have eaves to hang feeders from, you can use a birdhouse stake anchored in a pot. If you’re going to hang a feeder, keep the sugar water or nectar fresh and clean the container regularly. Hummingbird feeders can attract mold very easily, and if mold is allowed to grow, it can make your hummingbird population sick. 

Our resident hummingbirds love drinking from the bright pink oleander flowers, as well as from many of the roses, rosemary and lavender in my front yard. They are also particularly fond of our butterfly bushes, as are the insects they are aptly named after. While I haven’t graduated to being cool enough to have a hummingbird drink out of my hand, our resident nesting pair does let me get within about a foot of them, where I can sit and watch them as they go from bush to bush. Sometimes they even perch on a branch, almost like they are hanging out with me while I drink my coffee. For me, that feels like a huge win. Hopefully, one day we can get to the point where they drink out of a container in my hand, as Donut does with Jamie.

You never know how things are going to go with kids and animals. But when two tiny beings love each other? The results are simply too cute to handle!

Pearl’s Ragdolls, a Ragdoll breeder based in Fort Worth, Texas, recently shared an adorable interaction between her young son and a precocious Ragdoll kitten. The kitten jumped into Maverick’s crib for some “baby jail” time, and the two had a blast romping around together.

Introducing Cats and Toddlers

While Maverick and his Ragdoll pal were so precious, it is important to remember that animals and toddlers are pretty unpredictable and, as such, require total supervision. Neither should ever be left alone with the other, as it’s not safe or conducive to fostering a good relationship between the two.

Boundaries for the cat are super necessary, like making sure it can leave whenever it chooses and isn’t forced to interact with the child in any way. Exits and perches to maintain distance are an excellent idea when introducing a little one to a cat.

Additionally, it’s imperative to teach kids early to respect animals and be good humans towards them. Making sure toddlers remain gentle and use soft voices and hands sets them up for success in terms of creating a good friendship with their kitty family member.

At the end of the day, it’s up to human adults to establish solid rules and expectations to have a good bond between a toddler and a cat. With patience and proper communication, they’ll have a lifelong furry friend at their side and maybe even, like Maverick and his Ragdoll buddy, in their bed.

Ragdoll cats hardly even look real sometimes. Whenever I see one, even though I’ve seen thousands of them by now, I have to do a double-take. It just feels like one time, I’m going to look, and it’s actually going to be a doll!

Recently, one Ragdoll cat decided he wanted to hop into his mom’s basket of stuffed animals. There was only one problem with that: he blended in so well that it seriously looked like he was one!

Mouse the Ragdoll Cat is the most Ragdoll-looking Ragdoll I have ever seen in my life. His mom was asleep for a while while he was in here, and by the time she woke up, he had fully burrowed in! His head was all that was visible, and it’s just too cute!

These are all his friends, which leads me to believe it’s not the first time he’s done this. There are two possibilities: he was trying to sleep in there, or he was digging around trying to get something out of it and got caught. Knowing cats, it was probably a mixture of both.

Where Do Cats Sleep?

Mouse is only one cat, but the way he chooses where to rest is pretty common for all of them. He likes to be cozy, comfy, and most of all, protected.

Cats are very selective about where they sleep. Instinctually, they like to make sure they’re always safe, which often means:

• Sleeping in a high spot.
• Curling up somewhere.
• Finding a warm spot, like next to a heat vent.
