Pit Bull Sits Perfectly Still for Stunning Honeycomb Manicure — People Are Losing It

Thu, 06/11/2026 - 5:09am

Snoh the pit bull is not moving at all. Not even a tiny paw twitch. Not a sigh. She is getting her nails done and she is taking this very seriously.

The TikTok from @reignstormpit shows the latest in a series of spa-day moments for Snoh. The caption sets the entire scene: "Let's Do A Spring Nail Design For Snoh 🤍 This Time Our Theme Was Honey Comb 🍯"

Six colors and a complicatedly beautiful honeycomb pattern were involved. The process called for careful sectioning and steady hands. The whole thing has the calm, methodical energy of an ASMR video, except the canvas is a very patient pit bull who appears to be having the best afternoon of her life.

Snoh sits. And sits. And sits and waits some more. No unnecessary fidgeting. No pulling away at the most inconvenient time. Just complete, total patience and stillness while her mama works through an entire spring-themed honeycomb design, nail by nail.

The comments had a lot of feelings about this:

"Y'all know dog nail polish exists right"

"Me watching this needing my toes done"

"Me watching with 3 nails missing"

And then the comment that says what we’ve all been thinking: "Why are her nails better than mine.."

One viewer summed up the whole situation perfectly: "The fact that your fur baby sits still for this is amazing. 💛 🤎"

Amazing is absolutely right. But here's the real question: how does any dog sit through this grooming session without losing it? My dogs won’t even let me trim their nails.

How to Get Your Dog Comfortable With Nail Grooming Sessions

Turns out the solution is not magic, after all. It's patience, and a lot of treats.

According to VCA Animal Hospitals, nail trims can be genuinely very stressful for dogs, but most dogs can learn to relax and even enjoy it with the right approach.

Start small. Pair every single touch with something your dog loves, like a tiny treat. Try by gently running your hand from your dog's shoulder down toward their paw and watch and see how they react. A relaxed dog leans in and stays close. A stressed dog looks away, yawns or pulls back.

Related: Pit Bull Mom Was Told to 'Get a Man and Have Kids' — Her Response Has the Internet Cheering

If your dog seems okay with this, break things down into even tinier baby steps. Rewarding with a treat after every step. Keep grooming sessions short, just a minute or two, a few times a week. Don't move on to the next step until your dog looks completely comfortable with the one you're on.

If your dog has already decided that he hates nail trims, VCA says the fix is the same idea, just slower. "The process cannot be rushed or forced," the source notes. Never try to sneak it in either. Distracting your dog with peanut butter and then quickly trimming a nail might work once, but it can break their trust in you and actually make things considerably worse.

Even the clippers themselves matter in this process. VCA suggests keeping them near the treat stash container so your dog starts to connect "clippers" with "good things happen now," long before they're ever actually been used.

Snoh obviously got comfortable with her nail grooming sessions. Whether it took weeks of practice or she's just built different, she has reached that holy grail every dog parent dreams about: total chill during grooming.

Her nails prove it. So does that completely unbothered face.

British Shorthair Cat Struts Around in Summer Crocs Like He Owns the Place

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 7:55pm

British Shorthair cats are one of the most adorable cat breeds in existence. Even when they're just hanging out, their stocky frames and cartoon-like faces make them look straight out of a Disney movie. When they proudly model clothing or accessories, the cuteness level explodes!

One British Shorthair cat checks all the boxes by existing, but he also loves to wear the latest fashion. This photogenic boy legitimately has that star quality everyone talks about, and in a recent clip, you'll see why:

@mr_smokey21

♬ original sound - Mr. Smokey

Mr. Smokey isn't your average kitty. That much is clear, as he nonchalantly chills out on his own personal garden chair while showing off his precious summer Crocs and matching sunglasses. This British Shorthair cutie is just so cool and so perfect, it's no wonder more than 1.2 million TikTok fans adore him!

Mr. Smokey was made for the camera—he makes it look so effortless and natural. The happy cat seems to love his time in the spotlight, posing and flipping his tail to give a little sass. The stunning gray kitty has been called a diva, a fashion icon, chic, and a queen (he's all of those and then some), but most of all, he's a mama's boy.

Related: Gorgeous British Shorthair Cat's Eyes Are Like Glowing Pumpkin Marmalade

This isn't the first time Mr. Smokey modeled cute catwear. One of his most viral videos shows how much this sweet boy loves Mom, as they cuddle together wearing some seriously adorable, matching swag:

@mr_smokey21

We have better plans #BlockBlast #BlockBlastLove

♬ original sound - Mr. Smokey

There can't possibly be anyone cooler than this kitty. He should share his natural gifts and give feline modeling lessons to all those up-and-coming kitties!

Why Some Cats Like Wearing Accessories

Mr. Smokey is an icon because wearing clothes and accessories isn't usually something cats like to do. For those who enjoy it, it's likely because the pressure clothing provides feels calming. The gentle pressure is like a weighted blanket, offering calm and comfort, lowering stress and anxiety.

Most cats don't like wearing clothes because:

  • Losing range of motion can be hazardous.
  • Some embellishments can be a choking hazard.
  • They're not comfortable.
  • It can cause stress for those who don't like dressing up.
  • Conflicts can arise among cat groups due to a change in scent.

The ethics surrounding cats and clothes are murky, but if you have a kitty like Mr. Smokey who seems to genuinely like showing off, go for it (with supervision)!

This English Cream Golden Retriever Acts Exactly Like One of the Kids During Couch Fort Time

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 7:20pm

Having a dog as part of the family always creates incredible memories and adventures you wouldn't experience without a furry family member. Some pups like to watch the family fun from the sidelines, while others prefer to get right in the middle of it.

In this adorable video, we meet an English Cream Golden Retriever who has put himself right in the middle of all the chaos of family fun, as if he were one of the kids. And the activity they're playing today is couch fort, and it's the cutest thing. Take a look!

@chuckd31uxe

Shenanigans with the dog! 😂🐕 #englishcreamgoldenretriever #puppy #funny @donnamite18

♬ Frolic (Theme from "Curb Your Enthusiasm" TV Show) - Luciano Michelini

TikToker Charlie (@chuckd31uxe) shared a video that's got to be one of the cutest things we've seen in a really long time. It's two human kiddos with their English Cream Golden Retriever sibling, playing a fun game they seem to have invented in the living room while watching something on TV.

The Golden Retriever, whose name is Laken, was happy to be right in the middle of all those shenanigans with the human siblings. If Laken could laugh like a human, we're sure he would be joining right in on all the giggles. But we can see how quickly Laken's tail was wagging, just how much fun all three of them were having.

Related: This Older Dog Started Slowing Down—Then One Change Shifted Everything

In the comments, thousands of people shared their thoughts as they watched Laken and the kiddos have the best gigglefest of their lives.

One person wrote, "I love when dogs and kids are the same height. Nothing but good times."

Another shared, "I wonder who's having the most fun. Too adorable!"

Someone else added, "I lost count [with] how many times I've watched it."

Other comments included, "Just 3 blondes," "He's just a baby," "They're all the same height," "100% dog's idea," "Having the time of his life," "You have triplets," "Never a dull moment," and "Just siblings being siblings."

Why Golden Retrievers Form Especially Strong Bonds With Families

Laken is such a sweetheart, and you can see how much love there is in this family and how much this sweet dog loves those kids. And all of that makes sense since Laken is a Golden Retriever, a dog breed known for their good temperament and love for their people.

According to the American Kennel Club, Golden Retrievers are so beloved because they're joyful dogs. The site explains that they're a "joyful, loyal companion that loves outdoor play," and they're also really reliable workers, intelligent, and just love to be in the middle of everything.

Adding to their eagerness to be joyful and happy, Golden Retrievers are also very smart and adaptable, which means they learn new tricks quickly and can pick up on things that other dogs might not. Their intelligence and love for their family mean these pups are happy to put themselves in the center of the family fun and chaos, like Laken is, and make memories that last everyone a full lifetime.

This Blind Dachshund Showed up to a Playdate With Zero Vision and Absolutely Maximum Enthusiasm

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 7:00pm

Dogs really don't believe in letting small details get in the way of having a good time.

And apparently, "not being able to see where everyone went" ranks pretty low on the list of actual problems when there are puppies involved.

@wrenspov

She loves when foster siblings come to play #blindpuppy #specialneedsdog #rescuedog #longhaireddachshund #weeniedog

♬ original sound - Jellyfish Jams Daily

The adorable video was shared on the TikTok account @wrenspov and stars Wren, a blind Longhaired Dachshund whose excitement for visiting foster siblings is almost too sweet to handle.

According to the caption, Wren absolutely loves when foster puppies come over to play. Even though she has limited vision, she recognizes their arrival through sounds, scents, and all the happy chaos that comes with extra dogs in the house.

Related: Golden Retriever Has His Dog Girlfriend Over and Immediately Makes It Weird

And honestly, her excitement is contagious.

The clip shows little Wren racing into the room after the puppies, determined to join the action even if she occasionally heads in the completely wrong direction. At one point, she accidentally bumps into an armchair, and the expression on her face afterward is so personally offended that I laughed out loud.

Ma'am. The chair was there first.

What I love most is that she never gives up. She just keeps trying to find her friends because she knows they're around here somewhere.

And if that isn't the definition of optimism, I don't know what is.

The viewers in the comments section were equally smitten.

"Put little bells on her siblings so she can know which way they are going," one person suggested.

Another viewer wrote, "Her little FACE when she bumped into the armchair. She got so offended."

One pet parent shared a beautiful story about their own blind dog, explaining that their other dog would hold toys close so their visually impaired companion could continue playing tug-of-war. "It's one of the sweetest things I've ever seen," they wrote.

"The way she's doing everything right, but just in the wrong direction," another person joked.

And perhaps my favorite comment simply said, "She is so happy to be part of the action."

Which honestly feels like the perfect description of Wren.

Dogs rely heavily on their sense of smell and hearing, which is why many visually impaired pups adapt remarkably well to life without sight. Familiar routines, consistent furniture placement, and supportive companions can help blind dogs navigate their world with confidence.

Many blind dogs continue to enjoy walks, playtime, and social interactions just like sighted pups. In fact, many pet parents say visitors often forget their dog is blind because they adapt so beautifully.

And clearly, Wren has already figured out the most important thing.

When friends come over, you go to the party.

Even if the party occasionally turns out to be an armchair.

'Completely Broken' Puppy Abandoned in Construction Site Shows Sweet Bravery After Rescue

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 6:10pm

Niall Harbison continues his evolving mission to save street dogs through his Thailand animal rescue, Happy Doggo. The animal advocate posts about the dogs he brings back to the rescue sanctuary and how they flourish with the proper medical care and human touch.

Skye, one of his most recent rescues, is just a small puppy yet she shows a huge amount of courage as she embarks on her healing journey after a traumatic abandonment.

View this post on Instagram

The Instagram video from @wearehappydoggo told Skye's story and how she was abandoned with no help in sight.

"Just 4 days ago, she was found completely alone and covered in fleas on a dusty construction site," the caption explained as Harbison went into the dingy environment to retriever Skye. "She was completely broken."

Skye was understandably defensive at first and nipped at Harbison in fear. The Happy Doggo founder gently scooped her up and brought her back to his medical clinic for immediate treatment, where a major injury was uncovered.

"The moment we saw her, we knew right away that something wasn’t right with her leg," the story continued. "We later discovered that she had likely been hit by a car as a tiny puppy. With no one to help her, the injury healed all on its own, leaving her leg permanently stiff."

Skye Is on the Road to Recovery

The precious pooch is now getting the medical care she needs, along with plenty of love and affection. Skye is learning to walk again through daily physical therapy and is already letting her guard down with the caring staff.

"Skye is a fighter," the caption shared. "Today, the real healing begins. We are taking it one day at a time, teaching her how to walk again and rebuilding the confidence she lost. She knows she is safe now."

Tiny Chihuahua Finds His Howl for the First Time, and It's the Cutest Thing You'll Hear Today

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 5:55pm

Everyone needs to find their voice, no matter how small they may be.

A perfect example is this heartwarming dog video of an adorable Chihuahua howling for the first time and just not stopping.

The tiny dog named Lentil has found his voice, and he wants it to be known!

@lentilparis

He heard a siren for the first time

♬ original sound - Lentil Paris

Perhaps Lentil was inspired by the sound of a siren, but when he realized he could make a sound, too, he seemed to be utterly delighted and became very enthusiastic about repeating his howl.

As you can imagine, the comments for Lentil, the Chihuahua, discovering his cute howl for the first time were quite enthusiastic.

One viewer wrote, "Now that he found his voice, good luck, sister."

Another wrote, "I’ve never wanted a Chihuahua before in my life. What is happening to me?"

"The ancient call of his ancestors," joked another viewer.

Related: Chihuahua's Birthday Celebration at a Mexican Restaurant Is Everything

Why Some Dogs Howl Instead of Bark

So why are some pups more prone to howling than barking?

Howling, like barking, is another form of communication that's instinctually driven by their wolf ancestry.

As for why Lentil, the Chihuahua, is howling in this case, dogs often howl as a reaction to a high-frequency noise like a siren, which occurs in this video.

They are responding to the high-pitched sound by literally singing along with it.

Now that Lentil has found his howl, he may also start using it when he's bored or a little lonely.

And as we can see in this heartwarming video, howling is a great way to get immediate attention from a dog's pet parent.

But be aware that a sudden howl, when combined with atypical body language, could also be a sign that the dog is in distress and needs medical attention.

Lucas the Dachshund Hits the 'Toy Story 5' Red Carpet and Completely Steals the Show

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 2:31pm

One look, and it's easy to see why Lucas the Dachshund has 640,000 followers on TikTok (and counting). Not only is he adorable, but his pop culture-themed posts are always on point.

Lucas has gained such a following that he managed to snag an invite to a hot ticket Hollywood event this week: the Toy Story5 premiere at the Dolby Theatre. He was surrounded by stars like Tom Hanks and Tim Allen on the red carpet, but he managed to steal the spotlight for himself anyway.

@entertainmenttonight

Entertainment Tonight shared footage of Lucas doing his thing after he arrived at the premiere on June 9, and he got to pose for photos just like any other celebrity who was in attendance.

Just looking at Lucas, it's easy to see how people couldn't help but give him all their attention. His adorable denim jacket (custom decorated like Woody's outfit from the movie, of course) and coordinating red bandana made for the perfect outfit that was totally on theme.

Plus, seeing him pose with a plush Woody? Too cute for words!

And if you love super cute behind-the-scenes footage as much as I do, you're going to love this "get ready with me" video that Lucas' TikTok account shared that shows him preparing to leave for the premiere. What a handsome boy!

Lucas really cleans up nice, and boy does he love a theme. The whole cowboy thing really suits him. Who wouldn't love seeing a Dachshund in a cowboy hat strolling down the red carpet of any movie premiere, anytime?

Lucas' Role in 'Toy Story 5'

The only answer I need to the question "Why was Lucas the Dachshund at the Toy Story 5 premiere?" is "he's adorable." Yes, understood. He should be at every red carpet event.

But what's the real answer? While Lucas isn't in the actual movie (seeing as he's not an animated toy and all), it seems like he was actually invited by Disney and Pixar because he's such a big fan of Taylor Swift that he created a music video for her song on the sound track, "I Knew It, I Knew You."

Behold: Some of Lucas' best work:

@iamcalledlucas

I love this song to infinity and beyond ✨🤠🎶🚀 #taylorswift #toystory #iknewitiknewyou #swiftie #swifttok

♬ I Knew It, I Knew You - Taylor Swift

This level of creativity from Lucas and his mom combined with his love of Swift, who was also at the event, means that inviting him must have been a given for the people putting together the guest list for the premiere.

Plus, him sharing the moment with hundreds of thousands of followers on TikTok? That's not a bad amount of promotion for the movie, either.

Speaking of the movie... Toy Story 5 hits theaters on June 19, and I'm so jealous that Lucas has already seen it!

Golden Retriever Surprises His Family by Bringing a Live Armadillo Indoors, and Their Screams Say It All

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 1:42pm

Golden Retrievers are called Golden Retrievers for a reason — they're very good at retrieving. In most cases, though, we imagine that means a ball or a frisbee we just threw to them... not that they're going to go expertly retrieve a live animal.

So it's no wonder one Golden Retriever's family was so surprised when their dog returned from playing outside with a live armadillo in his mouth... especially since he actually brought his new friend inside the house.

@fox4newsdallasfortworth

Golden Retrievers: 10/10 for retrieving, 0/10 for situational awareness😭 Two-year-old Bingo decided to surprise his family in Allen, Oklahoma, by bringing a LIVE ARMADILLO right into the living room. Cue absolute chaos and screaming from Mom and the kids! Shoutout to Mom for using the ultimate weapon—loudly hitting a bucket—to finally get Bingo to drop it. The armadillo ran off into the neighbor's yard completely fine, but Mom's nerves might take a few days to recover.

♬ original sound - Fox4News

A Dallas Fort Worth Fox news affiliate shared footage on TikTok that had been captured by a security camera outside of a family's house.

At first, it just looks like the dogs and kids are playing in the yard... until you realize that 2-year-old Golden Retriever Bingo has a live armadillo in his mouth. No wonder the kids are screaming!

Mom totally panicked at first (who can blame her?) but once Bingo finally listened to her and dropped the armadillo outside, they were all safe. Phew!

What to Do If Your Dog Brings Home Wildlife

Being presented with a wild animal — dead or alive — by your pet is hardly the ideal situation, but unfortunately, it does happen. Dogs are very curious, some of them have high prey drives, and sometimes, dogs are just gonna dog.

It's one of those things that is so jarring when it happens that you might be too shocked to figure out how to handle it in the moment, so being prepared to take action is never going to hurt.

florent_dartora / 500px / Getty Images

According to Tier 1 Veterinary, here's the procedure for when your dog brings home wildlife:

  1. Separate the animal from your dog. Call them to you, and avoid sudden movements. If you need to actually separate them, it's safer to use something like a shovel and wear something protective (including gloves) to do it than jumping right in while running on adrenaline.
  2. Check your dog for injuries. If you spot any, it's a good idea to bring your dog in to see their vet, especially if you can see they've been bitten or wounded in some way.
  3. Keep an eye on your dog. You'll want to act quickly if you notice any signs of an illness, like an infection from an injury or rabies symptoms.
  4. Call local wildlife authorities if necessary. Never be afraid of overreacting — the professionals want to know if any wildlife is acting unusual in your area.

If it happens to be an armadillo like Bingo's new friend, you'll want to be extra careful. As Critter Control points out, armadillos can carry leprosy — not something you want to mess with without your vet's help, so you may want to make an appointment for your dog to be seen ASAP just to be sure.

This Genius Costco Find Makes Swimming With Your Dog Completely Stress-Free

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 12:48pm

Most dogs love water until you put them in front of a pool, and they take a look down from the edge. For many dogs, the problem is not swimming. It is confidence to get inside the pool. The drop from flat ground into the deep water can cause panic, even for dogs that are natural swimmers.

Just imagine your golden retriever on a hot summer afternoon. He wants to join the family in the pool, but keeps pacing along the concrete. He might dip a paw in, but he is not confident enough to get in.

Isle Dog Catcher! Large Inflatable Dog Ramp, $149.99 at Costco

Traditional pool ladders are designed for humans, leaving dogs with no safe way to get in the pool or climb out on their own.

Costco now offers a solution for pet parents whose dogs lack the confidence to jump right in. The ramp gives your dog the freedom to get in and out of water without assistance. You can use it for your pool, during boat rides, or for any other water adventure.

Isle's Dog Catcher! Inflatable Dog Ramp at Costco provides a stable, easy-to-use reboarding solution for docks, paddle boards, kayaks and boats.

Safe Exits Change Summer Fun Completely

Pets can quickly tire from treading water or panic when they cannot find a quick way out. The Isle Dog Catcher! Large Inflatable Dog Ramp reduces stress for pets and allows them to swim safely without needing assistance to exit the pool. The ramp is also ideal for senior pets with joint issues.

Because rigid dog ramps are often heavier and permanently mounted, they are designed for a specific location and cannot be moved to another spot.

Inflatable ramps, on the other hand, trade stiffness for flexibility. You can pack it, bring it with you on your boat day, and then use it for different setups without a permanent installation. For pet parents who regularly take their dogs on water adventures, the flexibility of an inflatable ramp is appealing.

With summer around the corner, the Isle Dog Catcher! Large Inflatable Dog Ramp ensures every member of your family enjoys a splash in the pool. Do note that Costco rotates seasonal inventory, and this product likely won't sit on shelves for long.

Maine Coon Cat's Paw Is So Big, It's Giving Total Baby Tiger Energy

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 11:30am

Cats are typically thought of as a small pet, but if you've ever met a Maine Coon, you already know that's not always the case! These cats are best known for their gorgeous, fluffy coats and their large size — and the absolutely massive paws that go with it.

Mayo the Maine Coon's mom showed off what her kitty's paw looks like next to her adult, human hand in a June 8 TikTok video, and this cat is easily reaching baby tiger status.

@mayothemainecoon

My daughters hand next to mine. She is a female mainecoon and she’s still growing 🥰 #mainecoon #bigcat #catfacts #coolcat #paws

♬ original sound - Noah

Mayo's orange paw is almost wider than her mom's wrist, and since she mentioned that her cat still isn't done growing, there's no doubt that her paw is going to be even bigger before long.

Who knows? By the time she's fully grown, Mayo may have paws bigger than her mom's hands. Just imagine how much damage she could do while knocking things off the counter with paws that big!

And just in case you were wondering what she looks like after seeing just her paw in this video, don't worry — there's plenty of footage of this majestic creature online, which you can see by following Mayo on TikTok.

Just look at how beautiful she is. Do we think Mayo knows she looks like a supermodel cat?

Much like other cats, she's obviously very mischievous, but there's no doubt she keeps things entertaining! Even if she does end up climbing on top of the fridge to enjoy the view more often than not.

How Big Can Maine Coon Cats Get?

Since Maine Coons are the largest breed of domestic cats, their size can be pretty impressive when they're fully grown! And of course, since they're large cats in general, their paws are going to be big, too.

But how big can Maine Coons get? According to PetMD, male Maine Coons will weigh between 18-25 pounds when fully grown, while females will weigh in at around 10-14 pounds. As for their height, they will grow to be about 10-14 inches tall.

Their large size and thick, water-resistant coats were made to help them withstand the outdoors in super cold temperatures, and so are their feet. Those big paws help keep the cats from slipping on snow and ice, and they have to be big to support their larger weight. Many cats have paws that are as big as four inches across.

Another fun fact: Maine Coon cats are more likely to be polydactyl, which means they have extra toes on each paw. Just another reason to love these unique animals!

Group of Horses Stops in Their Tracks To Say a Final Goodbye to a Dying Friend

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 11:20am

Stories like this hit me hard every time. Maybe it's because animals have a way of showing us something we already know in our bones, even when people still argue about whether they understand love, loss, or grief. Or maybe it's because horses have always had a special place in my heart. I grew up around them, and I know how lucky I am to have known that kind of quiet, powerful presence up close.

In the video below, a group of horses slowly walks over to where another horse is passing away off camera. There's no chaos. No confusion. Just this soft, almost sacred moment where they seem to stop everything and gather near their friend.

@itsmekelly_b

They understand on levels we never will

♬ original sound - Claire Boyer

It's the kind of scene that makes your throat tighten before you even realize it's happening.

For anyone who has loved horses, this moment doesn't feel surprising. Heartbreaking, yes. Beautiful, absolutely. But not surprising. Horses notice things. They feel shifts in the herd. They read energy, body language, routine, absence, and stillness in ways humans are often too distracted to understand. They may not grieve exactly like we do, but watching them come together like this makes it very hard to believe they don't feel something deep.

There is something spiritual about these animals. Not in a cheesy way. In a "stand beside one long enough, and you will understand" kind of way. They are strong enough to carry us, sensitive enough to remind us that not every form of understanding needs words.

That's why this goodbye is so moving. These horses were not performing a show. They weren't trained to do this. They were simply responding to the loss of one of their own, walking over as if they knew this was a moment that mattered.

Maybe they understood it better than we ever could.

People love to act like animals are simple, like they live on instinct alone. But then you see something like this, a whole group pausing to be near a dying friend, and that argument feels smaller than ever. Anyone who has watched an animal search for a missing companion, change after loss, or sit quietly beside someone who is hurting knows better.

These horses didn't need language to make their goodbye clear. They just needed to show up.

And they did.

Do Horses Really Grieve? Here's What Experts Say

Horses are deeply social animals, and when a member of the herd is suddenly gone, you may notice changes in their behavior, appetite, energy, or routine. Giving them calm support, familiar surroundings, and time to adjust can make that loss a little less overwhelming.

Stable Management shares that horses can show grief-like responses after losing a companion, and that allowing surviving horses to spend time near the body may help them process what happened. That matters because it treats horses like the emotional herd animals they are, not just animals surviving through instinct.

Grief is never easy to witness, but moments like this remind us that love doesn't need words to be real.

6-Year-Old Boy Had the Sweetest Response to Losing His Dog—and It Raised $22,000

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 10:48am

Buddy Braley, a 6-year-old boy, sat on a rainy morning on a farm in rural Gloucester, England, grieving after losing his dog, and put up a sign that said, "Stop here! To feed goats for charity."

Buddy and his goats waited, and by the end of the week, strangers from all around the world had donated over £16,000, or nearly $22,000, for local animal rescue shelters.

The young boy turned his grief over the loss of his beloved dog, Brody, into a mission to help hundreds of other dogs.

View this post on Instagram

What started as a simple tribute to his cherished companion grew into a mission that will help animals Buddy has never met before.

The Friendship That Inspired Something Bigger

Anyone who has loved a dog understands the love and friendship humans share with their furry companions. Losing a dog can feel like losing a close family member.

Understandably, many pet parents struggle with the loss of a dog and are unable to see beyond the grief. However, Buddy managed to find a way to turn his grief into something positive.

With the help of his family and a few goats, he started a fundraising effort that combined his love of animals and a desire to help dogs waiting for homes.

Bella and Bertie, the Hero Goats

With his father's help, Buddy set up a goat feeding station and trained his two goats, Bella and Bertie, to stick their heads through a cutout every time he rang a bell.

As visitors stopped to support Buddy's philanthropic efforts, the family used social media to increase the fundraiser's reach. Within a few days, donations started pouring in from all over the world.

The Internet Cannot Get Enough of Buddy

As news of Buddy's fundraiser spread, people flooded social media with messages of support.

"That is a wonderful tribute to your beloved dog's memory and it will help so many other animals. Great job Buddy!" said one commenter.

"Another added, "What a sweet little soul, to make such a big ripple in the lives of others," added another.

Another viewer shared his own experience with loss, saying, "Lost three dogs over the years. Your awesomeness in helping out with other animals and dogs in shelters is inspiring."

Buddy's Parents Raised an Angel

Buddy's parents did not come up with the idea. It was all the young boy's doing. Still, his parents did help him build the sign, set up the stand, and share it online.

His family says the project helped him grow in confidence while going through the loss of his beloved dog. Buddy has managed to raise thousands of pounds for local animal rescue centers, but as awareness of Buddy's effort continues to grow, expect that total money raised to continue to grow.

Mini Dachshund's Rare 'Natural Mask' Makes Him Look Like a Work of Art

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 10:10am

Some dogs have very unique markings that can literally make you do a double-take. Breeds like Australian Shepherds, English Setters, and Dalmatians boast eye-catching color patterns that look like they've been painted. "Dapple" dogs are absolutely striking, with a marble-swirled coat that can include black, brown, white, and gray fur.

Dodger is a Mini Dapple Piebald Dachshund that appears to be wearing a white mask with room to showcase his Arctic blue eyes.

@the.masked.ween

Don’t deny it!! #daschund #daschundpuppy #dogsoftiktok

♬ original sound - Lauren & the Long Dogs

In the TikTok from @the.masked.ween, Dodger was curled up on the couch snuggling with one of his parents. The Mini Doxie had a jaw-dropping coat pattern that could be compared to a masterpiece by a legendary artist.

A dramatic white "mask" covered the top half of Dodger's head and wrapped around his glacier-like eyes, except for a prominent black-outlined brown patch by each eye. The alabaster color was sharply contrasted by his midnight black ears, making a definitive shift in hue.

Dodger's snout was classic Dachshund brown, while the fur on his body was a mosaic of gray and brown flecks on a white background. Though his entire tail wasn't in the frame, the visible area was a golden color with sharp black and white lines on top.

Followers were in awe of the precious pooch's one-of-a-kind coat and raved over Dodger's exceptional appearance.

"Eyes like the most beautiful weighted contacts," one noted.

"That is the most amazing dachshund I've ever seen," someone remarked.

"What an odd pattern… Love the eyebrows! Beautiful pup!" a follower gushed.

"So cute — it looks like he has goggles," another pointed out.

Why Dapple Piebald Dachshunds Look So Unique

Dapple Dachshunds are known for their gorgeous coat pattern caused by a genetic trait called the dapple or "merle" gene, which creates light patches or spots that results in a marble effect on a dark-coated base.

A single dapple dog only has one copy of the merle gene, where a double dapple gets two copies — one from each parent. Double dapples have greater health risks due to this genetic overload including deafness, blindness, or other physical deformities.

Related: Dachshund Refuses to Eat Plain Kibble and Demands Gourmet Meal for Dinner

The Piebald Dachshund also displays a unique coat pattern that has a predominantly white base coat covered by various colored patches. Both Doxie parents need to have the recessive Piebald gene in their heritage, yet they don't have to be Piebalds themselves. Piebalds can have an increased risk of hearing issues.

Combining these two types of Dachshunds can bring the health risks that come from both sides. The union obviously produces a commanding-coated canine as Dodger beautifully demonstrates.

Great Dane’s Excitement Over Maine Coon Kittens Is Almost As Big As He Is

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 10:00am

Great Danes often seem really intimidating at first. They're huge! The size difference between them and other pets is definitely daunting when you first see it, but pretty quickly, they show their true colors. These dogs are just big babies: they're the gentlest giants around!

Recently, one Great Dane got to meet a bunch of Maine Coon kittens, and his excitement was contagious. He couldn't contain herself! These kittens have no idea just how much love this big dog has to give:

@euromainecoons

First of all, Euro Maine Coons has some very beautiful kittens. Second, and maybe more importantly, that Great Dane looks exactly like Scooby Doo. He's even wearing Scooby's signature teal collar! These kittens are so lucky to have him.

The Great Dane, named Scooby, lasted five whole days without seeing the kittens. That might be a record for him: he lives in this Florida-based cattery, and welcoming the kittens is his favorite part!

This litter is 6 kittens, and their mom loves to move them around from place to place. It's at the point that their followers are taking bets on if she'll move them overnight or not. In this video, she didn't: she must have known Scooby would want to meet them bright and early the next day! When the cats grow up, they learn one more thing with Scooby:

He's so nice, letting them play with his tail like that. My dogs don't even let anyone touch their tails!

Great Danes Are Great With Kittens

While not every household can handle a Great Dane, they're amazing companions. They might be huge, but they have huge hearts to match!

Great Danes take up a lot of space, but they're shy and non-confrontational, making them good companions for:

  • Other dogs.
  • Kids.
  • Cats.

Though Great Danes are playful, they also love to rest: being that big is exhausting. Whether you've got a kitty looking for a snuggle buddy or one who's looking for someone to climb, a Great Dane is a great choice. Just be warned that they will be sitting in your lap!

Maine Coon and the ‘Son He Didn’t Ask For’ Share the Silliest Bond

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 9:00am

Having pets, more often than not, ends up leading to you wanting another pet. There's something that whispers, "What if we got another one?" It's happened to me twice so far, and take it from me: the second or third pet is nothing like the first.

Recently, one cat mom brought a few little kittens home to her Maine Coons. She does this all the time, to varying degrees of success, but this new kitten is really something. He's the son they didn't want, yet they can't stay away from each other:

@the_maine_coonies_

♬ sonido original - ᥐ ׂ⑅ さ 𝒩𝓎𝒶𝓌 ✷ ៸៸៸ ׅ˒˓

The Maine Coonies are used to their mom bringing home kittens from here, there, and everywhere. She runs an animal rescue! She brings home litters of kittens all the time, but this kitten in particular is special.

He really hit it off with Dexter, the largest and grumpiest Maine Coon of them all. Dexter is the hardest for the kittens to get along with: he prefers to spend most of his time off by himself or fighting with his sister, Luna.

Related: Baby Kitten Treats Maine Coon Cat Like a Giant Chew Toy

This little black kitten is one of the only exceptions Dexter has ever made to that rule. The kitten spends all of his time with him, and they've had chewing practice, pouncing practice, and more. No matter what, Dexter never seems to be sick of his new little friend:

Soon, Ringo will go off to his forever home. Though Dexter will be glad to have some space to himself, I'm sure he'll miss him, too!

Maine Coons Love to Play

Maine Coons and kittens typically get along well. Maine Coons are just a generally agreeable breed: they can thrive in lots of different situations, as long as you take good care of them!

Professor25 / Getty Images

Maine Coons are often regarded as some of the more "dog-like" cats. They can learn to do tricks, often enjoy leashed-up walks outside, and are super friendly, just like a dog might be! These cats love to play, too, especially games like:

  • Fetch.
  • Chase.
  • "Hunting" games.
  • Fighting.

Having siblings can be a big help for Maine Coons: they're super social. If they have a sibling or two, they'll play with them... Sometimes against their will, if you ask Dexter!

A Hawk Dropped a Tiny Kitten Into Someone's Yard Like a Drone Delivery Service, and Now They Have a Cat

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 8:20am

The cat distribution system has delivered kittens through parking lots, back porches, and random bushes for years. At this point, most cat parents have accepted that the universe simply decides when you're getting a cat, and there's really no point arguing with it.

But one tiny kitten recently arrived in a way that has people convinced the distribution system has entered its technology era. Because apparently, regular delivery methods were no longer chaotic enough.

TikTok user @pandoraadventures shared the touching video. It introduces viewers to a fluffy Tabby kitten named Chopper. According to the caption, Chopper was dropped into the creator's neighbor's yard by a hawk, prompting the now immortal question: "The cat distribution system has drones now?"

The poor little guy can be seen sitting inside a kennel, looking understandably overwhelmed by the whole experience. His fluffy fur, worried little face, and tiny size immediately had me wanting to scoop him up and wrap him in approximately 17 blankets.

In a follow-up video, Chopper's human mom explained that the kitten suffered an injured back leg, but thankfully, the veterinarian believes he has a good chance of regaining use of it. She also shared that he's understandably traumatized after his ordeal, but that she believes he's going to be OK.

Honestly, this sweet baby has already been through more before breakfast than most of us experience in a year.

The comments section delivered exactly the kind of cat distribution system humor the internet does best.

"Economy so bad even the birds are DoorDashing," one person joked.

Another viewer added, "This is ridiculous. Hawks aren't drones. The hawk union signed a deal to work for the cat distribution system months ago."

"Damn, storks are so overworked that they're hiring hawks for deliveries now," another commenter wrote.

One person pointed out, "So basically he was brought into your life with 8 lives left."

Meanwhile, another viewer spoke for all of us by saying, "Give that baby so many hugs and smooches, he looks traumatized."

Although hawks are powerful birds of prey, experts say attacks involving kittens are uncommon and depend heavily on the size of both the bird and the other animal involved. Smaller kittens can occasionally be targeted, particularly if they are outdoors and unattended.

Wildlife experts recommend supervising young pets outside and providing enclosed spaces or secure areas where vulnerable animals can stay protected from predators.

Thankfully, Chopper's story appears to have a happy ending.

And somewhere out there, I assume one very confused hawk is wondering where his kitten went.

Someone Transformed an Iron Man Figure Into a Hummingbird Feeder, and the Birds Are Obsessed

Wed, 06/10/2026 - 8:00am

I thought I'd seen just about every Hummingbird feeder imaginable at this point. Mason jars, fancy blown-glass feeders, antique teacups... bird people are a creative bunch.

But one backyard bird fan recently combined superheroes and Hummingbirds in a way I genuinely never saw coming. And somehow, the tiny visitors seem completely on board with the idea.

@nuzzyfuzzy

#hummingbird #birds #bird #ironman #marvel

♬ Back In Black - AC/DC

The delightful video was shared on the TikTok account @nuzzyfuzzy, and it shows a creative pet parent transforming an Iron Man action figure into a Hummingbird feeder. The tiny visitor can be seen perched comfortably while sipping nectar from Iron Man's chest cavity, which is not a sentence I expected to write today.

Related: Woman Reveals the Best Flower for Attracting Hummingbirds—and It’s Gorgeous

Somehow, the whole thing works perfectly. The red and gold colors look surprisingly natural among the flowers, and the little Hummingbird seems completely unbothered by the fact that they're essentially having lunch with a superhero.

I have to admit, the close-up footage absolutely sent me. You can even see the tiny tongue while the bird feeds, which somehow makes the whole thing even more magical.

And honestly, if I were a Hummingbird, I too would choose the billionaire genius in the fancy suit.

The viewers in the comments section were just as entertained.

"Running to Walmart to get red action figures to add to my feeders!" one person wrote.

Another viewer joked, "Posing with Iron Man is such a flex."

One Hummingbird fan commented, "Awesome!! I have NEVER seen a Hummingbird. Hopefully, one day."

"He went to tell his friends he met a hero today," another person joked.

And one viewer loved the close-up view, writing, "It is so close up that you can even see his tongue feeding! What a great perch!"

Others simply declared it the "Best Hummingbird feeder ever!"

Why Hummingbirds Are Drawn to Bright Colors @bekind.1981

#hummingbirds #fyp #fypシ゚viral just add sugar and water . Make sure to keep the hummingbird feeder clean…. Nothing special has been done…. It’s more than just a place to get nectar, it turns into a daily checkpoint… #hovering 💛#birdwatching 🩷

♬ Lookin' Out My Back Door - Creedence Clearwater Revival

Hummingbirds rely heavily on their eyesight when searching for food, and they're especially attracted to bright colors like red, orange, and pink. These colors often signal nectar-rich flowers in nature, which is why many traditional Hummingbird feeders feature red accents.

Interestingly, Hummingbirds don't actually need red-dyed nectar. Experts recommend using clear nectar made from sugar and water, while allowing brightly colored feeders and flowers to provide the visual cues birds naturally seek.

Which means Iron Man may have accidentally become one of the world's most successful Avengers.

Not for fighting villains, obviously.

For attracting tiny flying jewels.
