Some dogs are incredible at obstacles, while others can run super fast during a game of fetch… and then, there are the dogs who were born to thrive in the performing arts.

Okay, so there probably aren’t as many dogs who are good at singing the way that many are good at backyard zoomies, but hear me out — this Cocker Spaniel named Alfie on TikTok is totally blowing everyone away with his beautiful, opera-ready voice.

In this gorgeous video, Alfie shared his most recent songs with his TikTok followers, and they all deserve Grammys, if you ask me.

His human introduced this as his “version of the opera,” which for Alfie includes a mix of “20% Scottish bag pipes, 50% Italian tenor, 5% French peugeot,” along with a few other styles. No human being would ever be able to have the range that Alfie has, let’s just be real. It’s amazing that he hasn’t been scouted by an agent yet.

Commenters are super impressed with Alfie’s talent. One person asked, “Does he do weddings?”

Another commenter wrote, “He sings from the heart, no sorry he awoooos from the heart.”

Alfie is a hit, just as he should be with a voice (and a face) like that.

There are a few steps you’ll want to take once you’ve discovered that your dog has the ability to howl to take it from a very dog-like sound to more of a singing voice:

• When you catch them howling, sing along with them.
• Sing to your dog loudly whenever you can, and when they finally start joining you, offer them a treat and praise as a positive reinforcement.

After that, all you need to do is practice, and soon, you’ll have a pup who is ready for their debut at the Met. It might take them a little while to catch on, but they’ll get there… and if their voice is anything like Alfie’s, your patience will be well worth it.

Buru wants to be held. Lekki wants to be held more. Neither of them is willing to wait their turn.

The two lion cubs, rescued from the illegal wildlife trade by conservationist Freya Aspinall’s U.S.-based nonprofit, have developed a habit that would be completely ordinary in the wild. They compete, physically and vocally, for the attention of their mother, or in this case, their caregiver. They nudge, push and climb over each other.

They’re competing for the attention of a 22-year-old woman who grew up alongside big cats.

The Rescue Operation That Saved Buru and Lekki View this post on Instagram

The playful moments are amazing, but these two cubs’ lives weren’t so rosy at first, as they were moved through the illegal wildlife trade.

The rescue operation took Aspinall and her team through remote and dangerous parts of Africa. The cubs had been intercepted, but once they were out of the trafficker’s hands, they had no safe place to go.

The rescue was only the beginning. The next step was finding a temporary shelter. The first safe place came from a facility called Greenfingers Wildlife Conservation in Nigeria. However, the team located another facility where Buru and Lekki could stay long-term until they returned to the wild.

A Behavior With Deep Roots

In the wild, cubs routinely fight for position in the pride near their mother. They want access to her warmth, grooming and proximity—that means safety. For lions, affection isn’t what humans understand it to be. Instead, it’s a survival instinct.

It’s unclear whether Buru and Lekki are biological siblings, as their origin in the trafficking pipeline remains unclear. Still, they behave like littermates.

“They certainly act like siblings. This behavior is just as they would compete for their mother’s attention in the wild, which is very sweet and I take as such a compliment,” one person commented on Aspinall’s Instagram post.

Aspinall is the daughter of Damian Aspinall, the British conservationist who founded the Aspinall Foundation and has spent decades rewilding zoo-born and rescued animals. She left school at 16 to work in conservation full-time and grew up at her family’s animal sanctuary in Kent, England. There, raising orphaned cubs wasn’t an unusual event.

What Is Next?

The illegal wildlife trade is one of the largest criminal enterprises on the planet. Lion cubs are trafficked for private ownership, cub petting operations, and the exotic pet market.

The plan for Buru and Lekki is to care for them until they can be released back into the wild. Unlike wild cubs, those raised with human contact need time to develop the hunting instincts, social skills and physical conditioning required to survive.

For now, the cubs are safe. And every day, they stage the same small war over who gets to sit closer to the person they have decided is theirs.

Not all dogs are super motivated by food, but if you have one who is, you know it. They don’t play about treats, and they also don’t play about when meals are served. Dinner time is firm, and you’d better not be late!

The Golden Retriever in the video below is especially serious about his dinner, though. When that time of day rolled around and his humans still hadn’t filled up his bowl, he let them know in no uncertain terms that this was unacceptable.

Dinner is supposed to be served at 6 sharp. It was 6:05, and this hungry pup was not amused.

And for Milo, that means letting out some of the loudest “woos” I’ve ever heard. There’s no mistaking the sounds that this dog is making for happy ones; these are clearly an expression of his discontent (and maybe a little impatience is thrown in there, too).

Just when you think he’s done woo-ing, he’s not. He is very serious about this!

Do Dogs Really Have an Internal Clock?

Even though dogs can’t read clocks and don’t have the same concept of time that humans do, they know when they’re supposed to sleep, eat, and even go for walks, thanks to the way they thrive on routine and that internal clock.

Much like people, dogs have a circadian rhythm that helps them know what time it is, as PetMD points out. But that’s not the only way they know what time of day it might be.

They do know that when it’s dark outside, it’s night, and when the sun is out, it’s daytime. They also know by our routines, like when we leave for work and get home each day, what time it is.

They do not take well to packs or strangers, meaning they will stick to their human through it all.

German Shepherds

The Downside: How to Prevent Separation Anxiety

It’s easy for any dog to go through separation anxiety, but it may be even harder for a dog that lives and breathes for their human. For extremely loyal dogs, being away from their humans, even for a few minutes, can be a stressful situation and cause plenty of unpleasant situations, like destruction of the home or tantrums.

To help prevent separation anxiety, Chris Loverseed, the founder of PK9 Gear and the owner and head trainer of Positive K9 Training in Melbourne, recommends starting small while at home. This can look like spending a few seconds behind a closed door and building up from there. You don’t want to push a panicking dog, but training them with small separations can help them realize over time that everything will be OK if you’re apart.

When you’re leaving home, Dr. Fleming also suggests not making a big production of it. Instead, act as if everything is normal and fine, which can help keep your dog calm. You also want to be prepared to reward their calm behavior when you return. If your dog seems to overreact when you leave home, it might be time to visit a veterinarian or a qualified training or behavior specialist for additional support.

Having a loyal dog can be a wonderful journey, especially for those looking for a pup with an extra special bond. While these dogs are great for having a friend on hand at all times, it also means being attuned to their feelings and emotions. It’s important to understand these loyal dog breeds and their need to be around you at all times so you can help them through any separation anxiety or stress they may experience.

In the TikTok from @lastchancepawsrescue, the Poodle mix walked around the vet clinic toward the back kennels where other dogs were recovering. He clearly had fresh wounds that looked painful, but the canine cutie was on a mission.

Dogs Are Naturally Empathetic

Canines possess an innate sensitivity to emotions, both in other dogs and in the people they love. Studies show that dogs can interpret human facial expressions, tone of voice, and our scent to determine our feelings and mood. They can sense distress and sadness, prompting them to provide comfort and take action when their person is in need.

This proactive Poodle is a perfect example of that empathy in action. Despite his own discomfort, he was determined to be there for his brother and make sure he was okay.

“Even when he was at his most vulnerable, his first instinct wasn’t to rest or hide—it was to ensure he wasn’t alone, and more importantly, that his brother wasn’t alone either,” the caption noted. “True brothers, through thick and thin.”

Thankfully, these two fur baby brothers are getting the care they need and clearly have each other to lean on through their recovery.

I’ve always thought one of the sweetest things about senior dogs is how a tiny burst of puppy energy can suddenly make the years disappear. Lily, the Dachshund, is 17, and one post-bath moment did exactly that.

The video arrives with some emotional context: Lily is a childhood dog, and these days she barely runs anymore.

There she is in the kitchen, freshly bathed and absolutely flying.

Lily zips across the floor with the kind of joyful little spirit that makes you forget for a second that she’s 17 years old. She looks zesty, determined, and completely possessed by whatever mysterious force takes over dogs the second they’ve been towel-dried.

The caption says post-bath zoomies simply hit differently at 17, and I completely understand why.

When a pup has been with you for that many years, you start noticing every change. The walks get slower. Naps get longer. Things they used to do constantly become occasional little gifts.

So seeing Lily suddenly take off around the kitchen isn’t just funny. It feels huge.

I love that Dad knew this needed to be documented and immediately sent it along. If my childhood dog rarely ran anymore and somebody caught her unexpectedly doing laps through the house, that video would be getting saved in approximately 14 different places.

Apparently, Lily isn’t alone. One commenter shared that their own senior girl still gets similar bursts of speed at nearly 19, sometimes right before she needs to poop.

Honestly, senior dogs contain multitudes.

There’s something wonderfully ordinary about the reason for Lily’s excitement, too. She didn’t climb a mountain or discover a new toy. She got a bath.

That was enough to briefly reactivate puppy mode, complete with flying ears, tiny paws, and absolutely no concern for acting her age.

I think those are the moments that become especially precious as dogs age. You stop expecting them, which makes every goofy sprint, play bow, toy attack, or spontaneous zoomie feel like a little glimpse backward in time.

Lily may not run much anymore.

Which is exactly why this moment means so much. We love you, Lily.

How Much Exercise Does a Senior Dog Need?

Senior dogs still benefit from regular movement, but the right amount depends on their health and mobility. The American Kennel Club recommends keeping older pups active while adjusting the pace and intensity to what they can comfortably handle.

If your senior suddenly feels puppy-ish:

• Let them set the pace. Enjoy the burst of energy without pushing them to keep going.
• Give them good footing. Nonslip rugs can make indoor play safer on slick floors.
• Notice how they feel afterward. New stiffness, limping, or difficulty recovering is worth mentioning to your vet.

At 17, every Lily zoomie deserves a standing ovation.

I’m sure some people are better at having dogs than I am and don’t give them treats for everything, but I do. I know a lot of other dog parents just like me: you start giving them a treat for something when they’re a puppy, and then you just keep doing it. It’s a ritual. They count on it.

That’s exactly the situation for one Border Collie. Every time he goes to the dog park, he gets a treat afterward to eat on the ride home … Except the one time Mom forgot. Don’t worry: he’s making sure she will never make that mistake again.

He will wreak Herder Havoc on her if she ever tries to send him home without a treat again! His name is Ten (a reference to Doctor Who), and he’s one of four herding dogs in his home. He goes to the dog park often, and he’s a good boy: he rides to and from in his crate with no complaints.

He mostly does agility training: his mom tried to do scent work with him, but he’s not quite mature enough for that yet. Clearly, he’s very food-motivated, and a whiff of a treat can distract him enough to get him completely off course. When food is his focus, there’s clearly no stopping him!

According to his mom, Ten only has about one full brain cell. He’s sweet and very loving, but he’s very easy to distract. It’s why she loves him, and they’re working on it! Something she loves to do with him is “discrimination” exercises, even if he keeps falling for the distraction:

He’s currently recovering from an injury, so she’s trying to find other ways to keep him occupied. A bored Border Collie is no fun for anyone! Even if it doesn’t look like he’s getting it yet, he’s laying the groundwork.

Border Collies Are Highly Intelligent

Ten and his siblings are all very smart pups, though they’re intelligent in different ways. Just like humans, dogs can have different interests and “areas of expertise.” Ten’s is agility and remembering when someone owes him a treat!

Border Collies are known to be one of the smartest dog breeds in the world. Their intelligence is often compared to that of a human toddler! These bright pups have:

• A wide vocabulary
• An excellent memory
• A strong desire to learn
• A lot of energy to burn

If you want to have one of these dogs, you’d better be prepared to work. They need a lot of exercise, and even when they’re not exercising, they need mental stimulation. Puzzles, lick mats, and interactive toys will be your best friends, and so will your Border Collie, as long as you don’t forget their treat!

I have seen cats hitch rides on dogs, humans, and even the occasional robot vacuum, but apparently we’ve been overlooking an excellent form of feline transportation this entire time: pigs. Why walk across the porch on your own four perfectly functional legs when your pig sister can take you?

That’s apparently Phoebe the tabby cat‘s philosophy. In an adorable clip, she’s sitting comfortably on the back of her pig sister, Winnie, as casually as if she ordered a ride and Winnie pulled up to the curb. Except this particular Uber has four legs, a snout, and occasionally oinks.

The adorable clip was shared by the TikTok account @why_winnie, which explained that Winnie and Phoebe really are best friends.

Winnie is also best friends with Phoebe’s brother, Jack Jack, and apparently both cats receive the “piggy back treatment.”

Their family describes Winnie as a “little sour patch pig” because she can be a bit of a bully with everyone except her two feline besties.

Phoebe certainly doesn’t appear concerned.

Exactly.

“Piggyback rides for kitties. Omg, this is so precious,” another viewer wrote.

Someone else pointed out just how unusual the arrangement is: “Their friendship is the cutest! It’s not every day you see a kitty cat getting a piggyback ride on a piggy.”

But one comment took this ridiculously cute friendship and made me emotional.

Phoebe may primarily be occupied with securing rides from Winnie, but cats have a long history of making themselves useful around farms.

Cats are natural hunters, and some farm cats help control populations of mice and other rodents around barns and outbuildings.

In fact, some animal shelters and rescue organizations have working cat or barn cat adoption programs specifically for cats who may not thrive as traditional indoor companion cats. These programs can place cats in barns, stables and other appropriate properties where they can have shelter and care while putting their natural mousing abilities to work.

That doesn’t mean farm cats should simply be left to fend for themselves. They still need regular food, fresh water, appropriate shelter, veterinary care, and protection from dangerous weather and other hazards.

And then there are farm cats like Phoebe, who appear to have taken on an entirely different role.

She is not working transportation.

She has outsourced transportation.

When you bring home a puppy, it’ll take a few weeks for them to settle in. If you already have a dog, something else needs to happen: they need to learn where they fit in the hierarchy. They’re going to try to impress their siblings and make them think they’re cool!

This puppy is at Suncoast Goldens, which explains the pen. When you have several puppies in one place, it’s a terrible idea to let them wander around freely; plus, pens prevent mixing litters if there is more than one at once. Luckily, though, she can see out, and others can peek in.

When the big Goldens approached her, she was just like, “Be cool, be cool…” Unfortunately, when you’re a baby who hardly has control of your limbs, it’s way too easy to fall on your tail. She just got too excited, but hey! They get it. They were puppies once, too.

The puppies mostly stay inside, especially when they’re really little, but the big dogs have more freedom. They have a lot of land, so their Goldens get to go out and enjoy golden hour often:

The puppies get to go outside sometimes too, but when you live with as many puppies as these grown-up dogs do, you’re going to need some time away. Luckily, that grass looks perfectly cut, and they’re having the time of their lives running through it! No ticks here!

Why Are Puppies So Clumsy?

The first few months of any puppy’s life are spent doing approximately four things:

• Training them.
• Watching them sleep.
• Trying to keep stuff out of their mouths.
• Picking them up and going, “Oh!” when they inevitably fall again.

It seems like everything is an excuse for puppies to tumble. They don’t get hurt often, by some miracle, but it’s not for lack of trying!

Puppies grow much faster than humans, and their developmental milestones occur sooner. They start walking within weeks of being born. It takes us months, if not a year or longer! Puppies’ bodies are constantly growing.

Their brain moves too fast for their limbs to keep up at first. Their coordination is off, and it’ll take a while to build it up. All you can do is encourage them to slow down and take their time. Try not to leave them unsupervised for very long, either; you never know when trying to impress the big dogs will end with a fall!

In the TikTok from @humanebroward, Skywalker sat in his kennel and sweetly stared into the camera. The pretty Pointer mix was obviously adorable, yet what stood out more than anything were his frosty blue eyes.

Shimmering with an icy, almost glasslike clarity that catches the light, the precious pooch’s eyes were a rare, cool blue color that radiated a mystical vibe with every look he gave.

“He’s definitely one of a kind!” the caption raved. “Our Purina Pet of the Week is a stunning 1-year-old Pointer mix who may just have the most mesmerizing eyes in the shelter! One look into those beautiful eyes and you’ll be completely smitten.”

Shelter staff members felt the fur baby was made for the spotlight and arranged for him to appear on a local news station in the hopes of finding him a forever home. Skywalker was completely camera-ready and won over viewers in his television debut.

Skywalker Has a Puppy-Like Spirit

The 1-year-old pooch is still enjoying his puppyhood and loves to play. After a good workout, Skywalker turns into a total love bug and enjoys cuddling with his loved ones for some important snuggle time. The friendly fur baby is also gentle and minds his manners.

“When it comes to treats, Skywalker is a gentleman,” the story continued. “He takes them gently and is always happy to show you just how treat-motivated he can be.”

Skywalker does well on a leash and loves to explore, take car rides, and be with his people. All he needs is a family to open their hearts and give him the chance he deserves.

Some of my favorite dogs are the ones who look like bears. That doesn’t have to be just big dogs, either: I’ve seen plenty of tiny dogs who look like bears, too! I will admit that I’m partial to a big dog, though… I like them to be bear-sized as well!

Shannon Gillespie has two Doodles: this Newfie-Doodle, George, and a Labradoodle named Howie. The two of them get along great, but George is the bigger of the two. Howie is a standard Labradoodle, so he’s not small, but he’s certainly not half Newfoundland.

George is a very active boy. Whenever he can, he loves to spend time outside, frolicking through the outdoors like a bear in the forest. In another life, that’s where he’s meant to be! In this life, though, he has a blast playing and then going inside and being pampered by his mom.

Knowing which toxic fall plants you need to protect your dog or cat from may help you avoid a medical emergency or worse.

To learn more about toxic fall plants, we spoke with Dr. Veronica Villanueva, a veterinarian and the medical director at VEG ER for Pets in Anaheim Hills, California. Below, Dr. Villanueva explains why the fall flora may be especially dangerous for pets, three common toxic fall plants for pets every owner should know, the signs and symptoms of plant toxicity, and some nontoxic fall plants for pets that you can enjoy.

With this information, you and your fur baby can stay focused on the fun parts of fall and avoid any costly emergency trips to the vet.

Why Fall Flora Can Be So Dangerous to Pets

“Fall brings new plants, flowers, berries, bulbs, seeds and fallen leaves into our pets’ environments,” Dr. Villanueva says. “Curious dogs and cats may chew seasonal arrangements, investigate garden beds, or eat plant material found during walks or hikes. Some plants contain toxins that can affect the gastrointestinal tract, nervous system, heart, kidneys, liver or bone marrow.”

The Most Common Toxic Autumn Plants and Flowers

Below are three common fall plants that are actually toxic to dogs and cats.

1. Autumn crocus (Colchicum autumnale)

First up is autumn crocus, a plant Dr. Villanueva considers to be one of the most dangerous plants in the fall for pets.

“It contains colchicine and can cause severe vomiting, diarrhea, gastrointestinal bleeding, bone marrow suppression, organ failure and death,” Dr. Villanueva warns. “Signs may be delayed, so suspected ingestion is an emergency.”

2. Chrysanthemums, aka mums (Chrysanthemum species)

Next up? Chrysanthemums (aka mums, a seasonal staple on many porches). While they may look darling sitting outside during the fall months, keep your pet away from these beauties.

“These popular fall flowers are mildly to moderately toxic to dogs and cats. Ingestion may cause drooling, vomiting, diarrhea and loss of coordination. Contact with the plant may also irritate the skin,” Dr. Villanueva says.

3. Cyclamen (Cyclamen species)

Cyclamens are another type of plant that are popular in the fall that you will want to steer clear of with your pet.

“Cyclamen contains irritating saponins. It commonly causes drooling, vomiting and diarrhea, but consuming a large amount, particularly the tubers or roots, can result in abnormal heart rhythms, seizures or death,” Dr. Villanueva says.

Symptoms of Plant Toxicity in Dogs and Cats

Dr. Villanueva says that signs of plant toxicity will depend on the type of plant and the amount consumed, but potential symptoms of plant toxicity in cats and dogs may include:

• Vomiting, diarrhea or loss of appetite
• Drooling, excessive salivation or foaming at the mouth
• Lethargy, weakness or changes in behavior, such as confusion or irritability
• Trembling, muscle tremors or seizures
• Difficulty breathing, changes in heart rate, pale gums or changes in the appearance of the pupils

“If you see or suspect that your pet has eaten or come into contact with a toxic plant, don’t wait for symptoms to appear. Immediately move your pet away from the plant and safely remove any remaining plant material from their mouth,” Dr. Villanueva says. “Call your emergency veterinarian immediately. Delaying treatment can make some toxic exposures more dangerous. If you take your pet to an emergency veterinary hospital, bring a photo of the plant, any product labels, poison control case numbers, and as much information as possible about when and how the exposure occurred.”

Pet-Safe Fall Plants for Your Yard and Porch

Pet-safe plants Dr. Villanueva recommends for fall gardens and arrangements include:

• Sunflowers
• Asters
• Garden snapdragons
• Calendula/garden marigold
• Pansies

However, it’s important to remember that just because a plant is “pet-safe” doesn’t mean your pet should necessarily chow down on it.

“These plants are generally considered nontoxic to dogs and cats, but ‘non-toxic’ does not mean they should be eaten,” Dr. Villanueva explains. “Any plant material can cause digestive upset, and pesticides, fertilizers, mold or decorative wires may create additional hazards.”

If you follow the Moriarty family, then you are familiar with their menagerie of charismatic pets. There are Blue and Titan, the talkative Huskies; Maverick and Bauer, their sweet and spicy Goldens; and Goose, their Golden-Shepherd rescue puppy (not to mention a few cats). Parenting five dogs and three cats isn’t for the faint of heart, but this family shows it can be done successfully (if not chaotically). However, harmonious coexistence is built on structure, not luck. These tips for managing a menagerie of your own come from a certified professional dog trainer:

1. Keep the rhythm predictable. Pets don’t need a rigid schedule, but knowing when meals, walks, play, and rest happen lowers anxiety and builds confidence.
2. Feed everyone separately. Food is the most valuable thing in your pets’ world and the likeliest flashpoint for resource guarding. Use separate rooms, individual crates, or an elevated spot where the dog can’t reach the cat.
3. Give each animal somewhere to be alone. Cats want height — a tree, a shelf, a window perch above the fray. Dogs want quiet, away from hallway traffic. Everyone needs a place to opt out.
4. Make the crate a good address, not a penalty box. Toys, treats, and enrichment go in it, and if one pet is crated while you’re with another, put it somewhere quieter.
5. Train one at a time. Even a well-behaved dog struggles to concentrate while another animal circles for attention.
6. Protect the one-on-one time. Every pet should get you to themselves daily, doing the thing they love — and skip setups that create direct rivalry, like two dogs chasing the same ball. As excitement climbs, self-control drops. Consistently overlooking one pet is how jealousy becomes a behavior problem.

I don’t think I was prepared for a 16-day-old Spectacled Owl to look this much like something Jim Henson personally designed, but baby Kleenex has completely won me over.

The clip introduces Kleenex, who is the little brother of another bird named DJ Swabs.

Kleenex is brand-new, impossibly fluffy, and wearing the wonderfully confused expression of a creature who seems surprised to have arrived on Earth. His oversized dark eyes sit inside a pale, fuzzy face, while the rest of him looks like a tiny Muppet made of cotton balls and owl parts.

He’s 16 days old.

That fact makes everything cuter in my opinion.

The video seems to have been filmed while Kleenex is being cared for by someone experienced with birds, and he seems perfectly content, looking like the world’s smallest fantasy creature.

One comment immediately compared him to a Jim Henson puppet, and I genuinely can’t unsee it. Another declared they’d go to war for baby Kleenex.

Same. No follow-up questions.

There’s something about owls that has always felt a little magical to me, anyway. When I was a kid in Northern New Mexico, I had the chance to help release an owl after it had been rehabilitated. I still remember watching it return to the wild. It’s one of those childhood moments that stays perfectly preserved in your brain.

Sometimes I wonder about the owl now. Did it live a long life? Did it have babies? Could its grandchildren be flying around Northern New Mexico today?

I’d like to think so.

Kleenex brings that feeling right back, although at this stage, he looks considerably less like a silent nighttime hunter and considerably more like he should be giving advice to the hero in an ’80s fantasy movie.

Enjoy it while it lasts, little guy. That baby fluff has serious star power.

Spectacled Owls are large tropical owls found from southern Mexico through Central America and into South America. Adults earn their name from the pale markings around their bright yellow eyes, but babies look dramatically different: Juveniles are mostly pale with a dark facial disk, which helps explain Kleenex’s incredible little puppet face.

A few fascinating facts:

• They grow up strikingly different. That fuzzy pale baby appearance eventually gives way to the darker face and signature “spectacles” of adulthood.
• They’re serious hunters. Their menu can include small mammals, insects, frogs, bats, and even smaller birds.
• Their range is enormous. These owls live across a huge stretch of the tropical Americas.

For now, Kleenex can worry about becoming a majestic owl later.

When I think of cats with big paws, my mind immediately goes to lions. Then, like any reasonable person would, I think about the closest you can get to a lion in your house: a Maine Coon! As far as domestic cats go, Maine Coons certainly have the biggest paws. Right?

At least most of the time, anyway. There’s one Ragdoll cat whose insanely big paws give every Maine Coon a serious run for their money! On top of that, he can’t stop literally flexing them on everyone, and I can’t stop watching:

The HolistiCats Cattery is home to Pancake and his massive, mega-biscuit making paws. As you can see, he clearly thinks he runs the place! Look at him, getting held like a baby while he makes those big biscuits. He wouldn’t survive even a minute on the streets.

He’s even making the biscuits in slow motion: they do everything on his schedule, because he won’t allow it any other way. When he’s not making biscuits, you’ll find him wandering around and making all kinds of demands of both his caretaker and the other cats!

The main thing I love about Ragdoll cats is the way they’re always just lying around. They look like they have nothing better to do than sit around and beg for attention! It’s part of their charm.

Ragdoll Cats Knead a Lot

If Pancake is any indication of what this breed is like, you should know that they truly knead all the time. Pancake’s favorite hobby is biscuit making, and he really doesn’t care where. On the furniture, on Mom, in mid-air… He just loves biscuits.

Ragdoll cats are very easy to please. They love attention and affection, and as long as you keep those two things in stock and make sure they get plenty of treats, you’re golden. They’re just generally happy cats, which means they:

• Love to cuddle and can be clingy.
• Purr a lot.
• Knead on everything they can.
• Vocalize a lot in other ways, like meows and happy chirps.

Pancake is certainly a happy, well-loved, and well-fed boy. I wonder if he stores all of the extra love he gets in his paws? Is that why they’re so big?
