Sweet Rescue Dog Wins Over Feral Cat in Heartwarming Snuggle Session
There’s a certain look feral cats have when they’re still deciding whether the world is safe. Wide eyes. Always calculating the nearest escape. Never fully relaxed.
Earning the trust of a feral cat takes months of quiet patience, so seeing that same street-hardened cat voluntarily snuggle up against a rescue dog feels like a small miracle.
A recent Reddit post shared exactly this milestone. A cat who once lived outside, entirely untamed, finally decided the best place to sleep was right against their canine sibling.
My (formerly) feral cat is finally reaĺlllyyyy cuddling with my rescue pup.(oc)by u/ohhmybochts in aww
In the Reddit post, we see a picture of the two animals cuddling together. The dog is calmly snuggled with the cat, and while the cat looks like it's still showing some signs of being cautious, there's no denying they are now cuddled up together.
Feral cats don’t just become cuddly overnight. Something has to change first, and this post is a proof dogs and cats can get there on their own timeline.

What Are Fans Saying About It?Fans loved the love these two are getting from their pet parent. They commented things like, “Great job, there's nothing like those two feeling love for the first time in their lives!” and “Thank you for loving them and giving them the chance to experience a loving home.”
Of course, there were also comments about the facial expression of the cat, with one person saying, “She got that 'i don't want to love this.... but i love this' face.”
How Dogs and Cats Can Form a Trustful BondLiving with a feral cat takes a lot of patience, and it's important to remember that you cannot earn their trust overnight.
For this cat, the turning point didn’t come from a human—it came from a dog. We can assume that the dog was nice and didn’t chase her, corner her or demand any attention. This dog likely simply existed nearby, being calm, predictable and safe.
Animals read energy faster than we do, and over time, the cat likely realized something important: this dog wasn’t a threat. That’s when the distance started shrinking.
As the original poster explained, she got her rescue dog, Tyson, seven years ago. It took him six months to become the well-behaved dog he is now. The cat had zero socialization before, and it took one year of feeding before her parent could touch her. She has been inside for almost four years, and she is finally comfortable around her dog sibling.
What Does It Say About Animals?Feral cats don’t forget where they came from. Their instincts stay sharp for a reason.
However, they can adapt, and sometimes, the presence of another calm, steady animal helps them get there faster than humans alone.
This isn’t rare, but it’s often invisible. These small shifts happen quietly in homes every day. You don’t always notice the exact moment things change. Until one day, you walk in and see them sleeping side by side.

Senior Rescue Dog with No Back Legs Gets Forever Home After 4 Years of Waiting
Senior dogs often get overlooked for adoption due to a shorter life span and potential health issues. Yet these precious pooches have such grateful hearts and so much love and joy to give, they make the most wonderful family members.

♬ were going to be friends - speedylyricGibbs, who appears to be a Dachshund mix, came to the rescue four years ago with serious health issues.
"When he arrived at Old Souls Animal Rescue, Gibbs was in rough shape," the onscreen text in the TikTok from @oldsoulsanimalres explained, with close-ups of the canine's injured back legs. "The first vet we took him to recommended euthanasia. But something told us Gibbs still had so much life left to live."
The rescue staff got a second opinion from another vet, which led to surgically removing the severely damaged areas of Gibbs' back legs.
"A couple of amputations later and Gibbs has fresh new wheels to zoom around in," the story continued as clips of the canine cutie running with his fellow four-legged residents revealed how Gibbs is fully back in action.
The determined dog received a boatload of toys and made lots of human and furry friends at Old Souls. Gibbs was even featured in the rescue's coloring book and walked the runway at their fashion show.
Gibbs Gets His Forever FamilyThe video highlighted how Gibbs thrived post-op, racing around in his wheelchair and socializing with everyone he met. After his incredible journey at the rescue, Gibbs finally got his forever home.
"More than four years after we were told to put him down, Gibbs has been officially adopted," the text shared, with scenes of the pooch with his new family.
Gibbs' resilience and dedication, along with the love and commitment of the rescue team, finally led to what he always wanted.
"Happy life, Gibbsy!" the video concluded.

Donskoy Cat Sneaking Into Neighbor’s Apartment Looks Like a Balding Man With No Pants
There are cats who quietly exist in the background of life, and then there are cats who show up uninvited and refuse to explain themselves. This Donskoy cat falls firmly into the second category. In a video that has people both laughing and feeling slightly unsettled, a very weird-looking kitty repeatedly sneaks into a neighbor’s apartment, like he has a key and a complicated backstory.
The caption says, “My neighbor’s cat keeps getting into my apartment,” which already feels like the start of a disturbing sitcom, but then you actually see him, and then you have questions. This is not just any cat. This is a Donskoy cat, a breed known for a unique hair-loss gene, which means they often lose their fur as they mature. And this particular guy... committed to that concept in a way that feels deeply personal. And human.
@underrated.momentsMy neighbor's cat keeps getting into my apartment 😭 💀 #funnyanimals #cutepets
♬ Hushed Conversations - Velvet Hour JazzThe hilariously bizarre clip was shared on the @underrated.moments TikTok account. This kitty has this strong little jaw, a mostly bare gray head and face, and then a random tuft of hair on top that looks exactly like a bad toupee someone glued on. The rest of him is a confusing mix of Tabby fur and… nothing. Specifically, nothing on his lower half. Which is how we arrive at the deeply unsettling visual of a cat who looks like a balding man who forgot his pants, but decided to carry on, anyway.

People in the comments were immediately losing it.
“Can you ask him to leave? I’m uncomfortable,” one person wrote, which honestly feels fair. I, too, would like a little warning before a half-dressed man-cat wandered into my living space.
Another said, “Fur coat AND micro bangs? That’s a fashion icon,” which is generous but also… not wrong. He does look like he made several bold styling choices and is standing by all of them.
“I can’t tell if he has too much or too little fur,” someone else added, which perfectly captures the confusion. It is both. Somehow both at once.
“What an interesting creature,” one commenter said, which feels like the polite version of what everyone is thinking.
Then there was: “A little bit of this and that,” which, again, yes. Exactly. That is the entire situation.
Others focused on the wardrobe issue. Or lack of wardrobe.
“Why is he so confused with his clothing?” one person asked.
“He just walks in with no pants on? He’s too comfortable.”
“Why does he not have any pants on?”
All valid questions. No answers.
And finally, the most accurate summary of all: “Neighbor in the front, cat in the back.”
That is exactly the energy. Like if your neighbor Steve just wandered in mid-thought, but happened to be… partially a cat.
What Are Donskoy Cats Like? Donskoy cat sitting on a stool.Image via iStock/solar737
Donskoy cats are known for their very distinctive appearance, thanks to a dominant hair-loss gene that causes them to lose their fur over time, sometimes starting in kittenhood. Some end up almost completely bald, while others, like this very confusing gentleman, keep patches of fur in ways that feel… creatively placed.
They are typically affectionate, social, and extremely people-oriented cats. And this tracks, because this one is clearly very comfortable just walking into someone else’s apartment like he has an open-door policy and a standing invitation.
Because they have little to no fur, Donskoy cats often need extra care compared to other breeds. Their skin can be sensitive, they may need regular baths to manage oil buildup, and they can get cold more easily, which makes the whole “no-pants” situation even more concerning if you really think about it for too long.

Adorable Golden Retriever ‘Employee’ Was Caught Stealing on the Job
For many golden retrievers, holding something isn’t optional. It’s comforting. You’ll often see them greet people with a toy in their mouth. Not because they want to play, but because it gives them something to do with all that excitement.
Without an outlet, that instinct finds its own path. And sometimes, that path leads straight to whatever object is closest, as seen in a hilarious Reddit video where one golden just can't help himself to the merchandise in a store.
In a video posted on social media platform Reddit, we see a golden retriever who came to the Frying Pan Anglers shop in Basalt, Colorado, with his dad, only to become a part-time "employee."
But this employee was caught stealing on the job. The video shows the dog happily carrying glasses around the shop like he is doing an amazing job. In his mind, he is.
Then you realize he’s not stocking shelves. He’s stealing everything he can carry.
At first glance, he seems helpful.
He walks around the shop confidently carrying items like he has a job to do. Customers smile. It feels charming. Almost official. He looks like he works there, but he absolutely does not.
What Are Fans Saying About It?Golden retrievers are among the most popular dogs. Many pet parents love them, and it's easy to see why. They're lovable, loyal and love to have fun—including carrying anything and everything in their mouths.
One person commented, “I love how he doesn't have a clue what he is holding but he knows he wants it.” Another person wrote, “Anyone that owns a golden knows this dance. 'I think I have something they want back, let me act natural until I can find a spot to destroy it.'"
Others thought the dog is doing the business a favor, with one person saying, “Product demonstration to boost sales.”

Why Golden Retrievers Need to Carry SomethingThe urge to pick things up is hardwired into a golden retriever's DNA. Bred as gundogs to retrieve waterfowl, they possess what is known as a "soft mouth." This allows them to carry delicate items without leaving a mark.
Today, their instinct to carry something shows up differently. Shoes. Socks. Random household items. And, apparently, shop supplies.
How to Redirect Their Carrying BehaviorInstead of trying to stop the behavior completely, it usually works better to guide it.
Give them designated items they’re allowed to carry, rotate toys to keep things interesting and reinforce when they choose the right object.
The goal isn’t to turn off what makes a golden a golden. It’s to keep the frying pans out of their mouth.

Border Collie Falls 180 Feet Down Waterfall and an Absolute Miracle Happens
Some pet rescue stories feel impossible even before the good news arrives, and Molly’s is one of them. The Border Collie was separated from her human after a devastating fall down a 55-meter, or roughly 180-foot, waterfall in remote bush near Hokitika, New Zealand. Her human was airlifted to safety, but Molly was nowhere to be found, which is the kind of detail that usually breaks hearts before the story is even over.
The video caption lays out the basics in a way that already sounds unbelievable: “A dog rescue mission is winning hearts online after a Border Collie named Molly was found safe in Hokitika bushland. Molly became separated from her owner after the pair fell down a waterfall during a hike one week ago.” It goes on to explain that while her human was rescued, Molly disappeared, a Givealittle page was launched, and more than NZ$11,500 was raised to fund a search. Then came the miracle. Just an hour into the helicopter mission, Molly was found hiding near the waterfall and flown to safety.

♬ original sound - NZstuffThat is the part that gets you. Molly did not just survive. She stayed alive in rugged terrain for days and was ultimately found close to where everything went wrong. AP reported that pilot Matt Newton, volunteers, a vet nurse, and a rescue dog named Bingo joined the effort, and that thermal imaging was part of the aerial search plan. When Molly was finally found on March 31, she was cold and bedraggled but alive, which honestly feels like the kind of sentence people wait their whole lives to hear about a missing dog.
And the public response makes complete sense. One commenter wrote, “Amazing 🥰 Some of the best heroes are just everyday people showing up, helping out, and making a difference when it counts, no cape needed,” which feels exactly right. This was not luck alone. It was people caring enough to keep looking, donate money, organize a search, and use every tool they had to bring one dog home.
View this post on InstagramThat is why Molly’s story lands so hard. It's dramatic, emotional, and full of the kind of hope people desperately want to believe in. A terrible fall, a missing dog, a community that refused to give up, and then the best possible ending. That is not just a rescue. That is a miracle with fur.
Thermal Imaging Is Becoming a New Best Friend in Lost Pet RecoveryMolly’s rescue is such a powerful example of how new technology is changing lost-pet searches. In the reporting on her recovery, thermal imaging was part of the helicopter search plan, and tools like thermal drones are becoming more useful in wilderness, brush, and other hard-to-search areas because they can help detect heat signatures where a ground search might miss them. Missing Animal Response notes that drones can be especially helpful for covering large or hard-to-reach areas, though they work best as part of a coordinated search, not as the only tool.
View this post on InstagramIf your dog goes missing in the wilderness, start at the last confirmed location, alert local shelters and animal control right away, organize sightings in one place, leave familiar scent items behind, and avoid turning the search into random chaos. Missing Animal Response also advises that in some wooded-area cases, people charging into the brush can actually make recovery harder by pushing a frightened dog farther away, which is why a calm, strategic plan matters so much.
Honestly, Molly surviving a waterfall and then getting found with thermal tech is the kind of comeback story that makes even Lassie look over and go, okay wow.

Hungry Labradors Start a Hilarious ‘Riot’ If They Don’t Get Their Dessert
If you own a Labrador, you know that the "off" switch for their appetite simply does not exist. These dogs will do anything for food.
And for one family, a simple attempt to manage their dogs' weight has spiraled into a mandatory nightly ritual. What started as a single carrot after dinner to help hungry Labs feel full has become a hilarious household law.
Now, the ritual is non-negotiable. If these Labs do not get their nightly carrots, they make their feelings very clear.
The video, shared on social media platform Reddit, shows the two siblings munching on carrots. One is eating in his bed, and the other on the kitchen floor, but both enjoy their tasty treat.
For Labradors, food is everything. Add in the fact that dogs thrive on routine, and you have a challenge. Dogs love routine more than we realize.
Feed them at the same time every day, and they’ll remind you if you’re even five minutes late. Add something special, like a crunchy treat after dinner like this pet parent did here, and it becomes part of the deal.

What Are Fans Saying About It?The video resonated with many fans who also have Labradors. They commented things like, “My guys raid the garden for carrots every summer. The oldest taught the two younger ones how to do it” and “I have a lab. Sweet potato is also good and filling for very few calories. I tried pumpkin, but it wasnt filling enough.”
Someone else commented on the difference between human behavior and dog behavior, writing, “Humans chewing loudly makes me wanna throw hands. But dogs' cromch is ASMR.”
Can Dogs Eat Carrots?Yes, and in most cases, they’re a great option. Carrots are low in calories and high in fiber, which can help dogs feel full without adding extra weight. They also contain beta-carotene, which supports eye health.
The crunch can even help clean their teeth a bit, especially when served raw.
That said, portion size matters. Too many carrots can lead to digestive upset, especially in dogs that aren’t used to them. And like any treat, they should complement a balanced diet, not replace it.
Labs and Food: A Love StoryLabradors are known for one thing above almost everything else: food motivation.
They’re wired to love eating. So when you introduce a “dessert” into their routine, you’re not just adding a treat. You’re creating a daily event. And as this video shows, these dogs won't forget their crunchy bedtime snack.

Huge St. Bernard Snuggles Tiny Pug Puppy and It’s the Perfect Big-and-Small Moment
If you have both a big dog and a little one at home, you already know how funny the dynamic can be. My 80-pound rescue thinks he’s a lap dog, while my small girl is fully convinced she’s guarding the house like she’s 150 pounds. So when I see a pair that takes that contrast to the next level, I can’t help but watch.
Because while a 30- and 80-pound duo is one thing, a St. Bernard and an itty-bitty Pug puppy? That’s a whole different level of adorable.
In a March 28 Instagram video from @ernestthepug, a gentle giant named Sam proves exactly why the Saint Bernard has such a legendary reputation for patience and sweetness. Curled around his tiny sibling, Ray, a baby Pug, Sam somehow manages to look both massive and impossibly careful at the same time.
See the moment here:
View this post on InstagramRay is smaller than even one of Sam’s paws, but that doesn’t stop the big guy from gently holding him in place and giving him the softest nuzzles with his head. It’s slow, deliberate, and incredibly tender. And yes, there’s a little bit of drool involved, because it wouldn’t be a Saint Bernard moment without it.
Related: St. Bernard Is Totally Unimpressed by New Puppy and Can't Even Hide It
What makes it even sweeter is that this isn’t a one-time thing. When another tiny Pug sibling, Chip, joined the family earlier this year, Sam welcomed him with that same calm, careful energy. No overwhelming excitement, no clumsy movement. Just quiet curiosity and an instinct for gentleness.
View this post on Instagram Saint Bernards Are Known for Their Gentle TemperamentAccording to the American Kennel Club, Saint Bernards are famously affectionate, patient, and especially good with children and other animals when properly socialized. They were originally bred for search-and-rescue work in the Swiss Alps, where they became known for their strength, endurance, and ability to navigate harsh conditions.
That history speaks to both their physical power and their steady, reliable nature, traits that are still prominent today.
That temperament is exactly what you’re seeing with Sam.

There’s no hesitation in how he interacts with his tiny siblings. Just a quiet awareness of his size and a softness that instinctive. It’s a reminder that even the biggest dogs can often be the most gentle.
And really, watching a giant dog carefully cradle a puppy that barely takes up space between his paws never gets old.
French Bulldog Won't Stop Swaying on His Deck—'Money Well Spent'
Lots of times, you buy something and wonder if it was worth it. To be honest, seldom is it. But, Sig the French Bulldog's mom? Zero regrets about her purchase.
There's the sweetest TikTok where mom's explaining her investment: "Look, this. I bought this with money. I just gave money to somebody, and they gave this to me. They just gave it to me, and now it lives in my house."
By the way, she's talking about Sig. And while she's making her case about money well spent, Sig's standing on the deck absolutely vibing. Sunbathing like it’s an Olympic sport and he’s taking gold. Gently swaying back and forth like he's in some kind of happy trance. Eyes peacefully closed as he soaks in all that delicious Vitamin D. Smile definitely there. Pure bliss mode has been activated.
@runningintonature ♬ original sound - Urethra FranklinThe comments immediately got the energy.
"Is it solar powered?" somebody joked.
"So money can buy happiness 🥰," as every Frenchie mom would agree, including me times two.
"Money well spent 🤗," absolutely.

"Little ray of sunshine 😂," captured Sig's whole vibe.
"Living best life 🥰🥰🥰," definitely facts.
Sig's just standing there soaking up sun, swaying like he's listening to music only he can hear. Mom adopted him. He moved into her house. Now, he's out here being a solar-powered happiness machine on the deck.
French Bulldogs Are Drawn to Warmth and Sun for Comfort and Health BenefitsHere's why Sig's deck sunbathing vibe makes total sense: dogs are just naturally drawn to warm, comfortable spots, and a sunny deck ticks every single box. The warmth feels good on thier body, helps loosen tense muscles, and helps with full-body relaxation.
Sun exposure also effects how dogs produce vitamin D, which supports two very important things; healthy bones and a strong immune system. Just like it does for humans, natural light triggers those mood-boosting chemicals in your brain. That blissed-out expression Sig's got while swaying? He's genuinely feeling good.
For Frenchies specifically, at least in my house, there's nothing they love more than being outside sunbathing, swaying, stretching, yawning, and sleeping in the warmth.

A few things defintely worth knowing: dogs can overheat. Frenchies with their flat faces often struggle more with temperature regulation than other breeds. Dogs can't sweat to cool down—panting's their main way of releasing heat and cooling down, and it has limits.
Also, dogs can get sunburned, especially on areas like the nose, ear tips, and belly where fur is more sparse. So shade access and fresh water are important.
Sig swaying on that deck in pure happiness? That's a French Bulldog doing exactly what French Bulldogs love to do—soaking up the sun, feeling chill, and living his absolute best life.
Mom acquired Sig with money. Now, he lives in her house and heart rent-free as a little ray of sunshine.
Money well spent? Absolutely!
Tiny Terrier Mix Surrendered Back to Shelter After 5 Years With Family Will Break Your Heart
Dogs are sometimes turned over to shelters after living with a family for many years. Reasons can include illness, relocation, or the pooch's main parent passes away. The transition from a familiar home to a chaotic shelter is overwhelming for these displaced dogs, creating an urgency to find them a new family.

7 Funny Signs Your Dog Is Bored (Trainer Insights)
Let’s be honest, some dogs have a real flair for drama. Maybe yours collapses onto the floor with a great big sigh when you stop petting them, or picks a fight with a squeaky toy like it’s personally offended them. They might even start fluffing the couch cushions in their own unique way or lock eyes with you while slowly inching toward something off-limits. It can seem random or even a little mischievous, but these silly, theatrical antics may be a cry for something more. However, because dogs communicate differently than people do, it can be hard to decode what your dog's behaviors and dog's body language means. To help you, we rounded up 7 funny signs your dog is bored, according to a trainer.
After all, boredom in dogs doesn’t always look like shredded shoes or a destroyed trash can. The truth is, many of the signs your dog is bored are easy to miss. In fact, trainers say a sudden burst of chaos in the living room, digging holes in the yard or grabbing items to spark a game of chase are telltale behaviors that your dog needs more mental mental stimulation or physical activity.
The good news is that boredom is usually easy to fix once you know what you’re seeing. A few small changes to your dog’s daily routine can make a big difference. Here are the unexpected signs your dog is restless and how you can help them channel that energy in better ways as a pet parent. Because while these bored dog behaviors may be funny to witness, they are also important signals that your dog needs more mental enrichment and attention.
Related: 8 Signs Your Dog is Attached to You, a Trainer Says
7 Funny Signs Your Dog is Bored A dog who looks bored.Even the most well-behaved dogs can show signs of boredom, under-stimulation, or lack of mental enrichment. Recognizing these dog behavior, bored dog habits and restless or attention-seeking actions is key to help owners keep their pets happy, engaged and mentally satisfied.
1. Faking an “Emergency”Ever notice your dog suddenly barking at nothing? This scenario is both funny and clever and is a prime example of bored dog behavior. “Although this may feel manipulative, it's quite a clever way for your dog to influence your behavior,” says Alexandra Bassett, founder and head dog trainer at Dog Savvy Positive Dog Training. “Your dog has learned that barking gets you to move, pay attention to them or gain access to better resources, like your warm chair or spot on the couch.”
Bassett says this crafty behavior usually pops up when a dog has energy to burn and nowhere to put it. It can be fixed by offering structured engagement like going for a walk or playing fetch before long periods of downtime. She also recommends teaching a reliable “place” cue so your dog learns how to settle on their bed and relax. Enrichment toys and safe, digestible chews can also give your dog something appropriate to focus on while you work and unwind.
2. Chasing Their TailBored dog behaviors can be pretty silly, which is why pet parents may not always recignize them. If your dog chases its tail, chances are they simply have nothing better to do and they are trying to communite that through their body language. “Dogs that are chasing their tails are generally bored,” says JustAnswer dog behavior expert and veteran dog trainer Sally Grottini. “They will spin around and around trying to get a hold of their tail with very little result, before collapsing into a rest period. While tail chasing is funny to owners who watch, it’s also a sign of boredom in the dog.”
Grottini says the key is stepping in before it turns into a habit. Redirect your dog to something more productive, like a new puzzle toy or an interactive game that gets their brain working. Even 15 minutes of basic positive training can make a difference. A short session practicing cues your dog already knows, with rewards and praise, gives them mental stimulation and a clearer outlet for that pent-up energy.
Related: 7 Signs Your Dog Has Imprinted on You, According to a Vet
3. Vocalizing Their BoredomWondering if your dog is bored? Sometimes, they make it clear in a pretty silly way. A bored dog may get vocal about their frustration by whining, barking, or even showing off dramatic howls, which are all ways dogs try to create their own entertainment. Watching your pup throw a one-dog concert can be equal parts hilarious and exasperating—a perfect example of funny bored dog behavior. “They can act like this until the owner gets them a mentally stimulating toy to play with or takes them outside for play and entertainment,” Grottini explains.
To help prevent this, she recommends being prepared before the noise starts by keeping a few frozen Kongs in the freezer or having a treat dispensing ball on hand to give your dog an appropriate outlet when they need something to do outside. “These options are great because they will take more mental capability as the food will be dispersed in the grass around the yard, causing your dog to use not only its mind, but also scent,” Grottini adds.
4. Initiating a Game of ChaseDogs have silly ways of communicating they are bored and asking their pet parents for attaention. If your dog snatches one of your belongings and takes off, consider this a dog behavior that means they need something to do. Socks, shoes and random household items often become props in an impromptu game of chase, especially when a dog has energy to burn. Watching your furry friend sprint around your house with a sock in their mouth is a classic funny bored dog behavior that makes you shake your head and laugh at the same time. “Dogs usually don’t care what the item is, and it might not even be due to smell or taste,” Grottini says. “It’s a way of getting their human to play with them.”
One simple way to curb this funny boredom habit is prevention. Keep doors closed and tempting items out of reach when possible. But management alone won’t solve boredom. Instead, Grottini suggests redirecting your dog with something appropriate instead, like a new or rarely used toy. Offering an approved outlet for play helps meet their need for interaction without turning your living room into a racetrack.
5. Chewing Up Household ItemsBored dog behavior can sometimes test a dog owner’s patience, like coming home to shredded couch cushions or pillow stuffing scattered from room to room. While chewing is natural, excessive destruction often points to a dog who is under-stimulated and looking for an outlet. Without enough exercise or mental stimulation, that pent-up energy has to land somewhere and sometimes your furniture becomes the victim. While it might not be LOL-worthy in the moment, you may look back at it and laught.
“While not always funny to humans who have lost a valuable piece of furniture, it’s a funny image to come home to find pillow stuffing or cardboard boxes chewed up into a thousand pieces, spread in different rooms, and your dog’s facial expression says, ‘What are you upset about?’” Grottini explains.
So, how can you help prevent this from occuring? "Sometimes it also helps to play dog calming music while you are gone,” Grottini adds. “YouTube has many calming music videos that you can leave on for 12 or more hours.”
6. OversleepingA dog who seems to nap all day might not just be relaxed. In some cases, excessive sleeping can be a sign your dog is bored or disengaged. There’s something comical about a once-energetic pooch now sprawled across the couch like a tiny furry sofa ornament. “When there is a lack of physical and mental stimulation, a dog can become more sluggish,” Grottini explains. “Lacking the stimulation it may need can also run into health issues and cause sleep disorders.”
While a visit to the vet to rule out potential medical reasons for oversleeping is important, small adjustments can help when boredom is the root cause. If you can’t fit in a long walk or extended play session, make sure enrichment toys are within reach. Interactive puzzles and solo play options like a Bungie-style dog toy can offer your pup a productive activity to focus on.
7. Digging HolesOne funny way dogs show boredom is through their actions. In fact, a bored dog may decide your backyard is the perfect place for a renovation project. Digging holes is a common way dogs burn off excess energy, especially if they’re not getting enough exercise or enrichment.
“It’s even worse when there is melting snow or recent rain, causing those holes to be mud pits,” Grottini says. “Your dog will come inside looking like a mudball and be very proud of itself, saying, ‘Look at me’ with much enthusiasm.”
For bored dogs who love to dig, consider creating a designated digging area in your yard. A simple kiddie pool filled with dirt or a small wooden frame sandbox can give your dog an approved outlet. Bury a few toys or safe objects beneath the surface so they learn that digging in that specific spot leads to fun discoveries. Over time, they will start to associate that area with their need to dig, sparing the rest of your yard from becoming a patchwork of craters.

Great Dane Puppy Stomps Around on Giant Feet He Hasn’t Grown Into Yet
You're going to want your volume up for this one, because the sounds this Great Dane puppy's huge feet make are too funny for words. He sounds like an upstairs apartment neighbor, even though he's just clomping through a kitchen.
The Great Dane puppy, named Remington, walks into the kitchen on his "first day with a new leash," but it's the clippity-clomp of his giant feet that steals the show.
@the_remington_chroniclesWelcome to your forever home “Remington!” #greatdane #greatdanesoftiktok #puppy #puppytiktok #clydesdales
♬ original sound - RemiThe absolutely adorable video was shared on the TikTok account @the_remington_chronicles, and people can't get enough of Remington's stompy feet.
The caption reads, in part, "Welcome to Remington’s forever home! This adorable Great Dane puppy is ready for all his new adventures. His first day includes getting acquainted with a new leash, a crucial step for any new puppy parent."
That's all good and true, but it seems to me that Remington also has to get used to the size of his gigantic feet.

People in the comments immediately heard what I heard, and one person said, "I think his shoes are too big."
Another wrote, "Ma'am, your inside horse is adorable," and by the time he's grown, I think inside horse will be a perfect description of him.
One person chose a pretty similar descriptor and asked, "Bruh-why does it sound like a Clydesdale Horse running around the house?!"
Another watcher said, "Look at those paws! That’s going to be a big Scooby-Doo! Beautiful!"
And then, simply, "Now those are some waffle stompers!" Accurate. Weird, but accurate.
By the time he's a big boy, Remington could weigh over 175 pounds and stand over 36 inches tall, and before his parents know it, he'll be fitting into those big puppy feet with zero problems!
Why Do Great Dane Puppies Have Such Big Feet? Gray Great Dane puppy running in the grass.Image Via: MPH Photos/Shutterstock
Great Dane puppies have such big feet because they are built for a lot of growing, and their bodies develop a little out of order. Their paws tend to grow first, almost like the foundation, while the rest of their bodies slowly catch up. That is why you will see a Great Dane puppy stomping around on what looks like comically oversized feet, as if they borrowed someone else’s legs for the day and are still figuring them out.
Those big paws are actually a good sign. In large-breed dogs like Great Danes, oversized feet usually mean there is a lot more growth coming. They need that extra size and support to eventually carry a very tall, heavy adult body. It just doesn't all happen at once, so for a while, you get this wonderfully awkward stage where nothing quite matches.
That awkwardness is part of the charm. Their coordination is still catching up, so the big paws make them a little clumsy, a little stompy, and very entertaining to watch. Eventually, though, everything evens out, and those same oversized feet become perfectly proportioned for one very large, very majestic dog.

Humongous Foster Cat Who Looks Like Emma Stone Is Our New Orange Queen
You never know when your new best feline friend will waltz into your life and change the way you see everything, forever. I've said it before, but I believe cats choose their people. And like spotting a double rainbow or finding a pot of gold, some of them have an uncanny resemblance to someone you recognize—a family member, a Pixar character, or even a big Hollywood star.
Enter Pumpkin, a gigantic rescue cat who recently found her new foster home. As much of a talking point her size may be, it's the Orange Cat's face that has everyone talking. If you've never seen the kitty version of Emma Stone, Pumpkin is about to change that!
@chrisseelbach14Pumpkin’s story…the beginning of it.
♬ original sound - Chris SeelbachThe video explains that after Pumpkin's cat parent passed away, she spent some time living on her own outside before @SPCACincinnati swooped in. Foster dad @chrisseelback14 took one look into those big, "googly" Emma Stone eyes and knew there was only one option—take this precious girl home!
Initially, this precious baby had a slew of health issues, with her weight being the biggest. Now, the 24-pound, 5-year-old Orange Cat is in a loving home with three resident felines: Big Jerry and his missing eyebrows, Doe, who groomed off Jerry's eyebrows, and Dottie!

Pumpkin may not have thought this was where life would take her, but I see only good things in her future.
@chrisseelbach14BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!
♬ original sound - Chris Seelbach Weight Loss Tips for Plus-Size FelinesTo ease an overweight kitty into a new diet, VCA Animal Hospitals says it's important to do it gradually, under a vet's supervision who can give the appropriate amount, and with a weight loss-specific food that has the nutrients and protein your cat needs.
Start by gradually increasing the amount of new food (25%) and decreasing their usual food (75%). A few days later, do a 50/50 blend, and a couple of days after that, the new food should be at a 75/25 split. Going slowly helps reduce stomach upset. It can take three weeks or more before they adjust to their new diet.
Diets aren't exactly fun, but Pumpkin is well on her way to health and happiness, thanks to her devoted new foster dad, who saw something special in her and knew exactly what to do. So move over, Emma Stone—Pumpkin is coming for your roles!

Two Golden Retrievers Chewing One Tennis Ball Have Everyone Watching
They say sharing is caring, but that's easier said than done—especially when a favorite toy is involved. Taking the "It's mine!" philosophy to new heights, two Golden Retrievers are locked in an epic battle over... wait for it... a tennis ball.
In a hilarious video, these determined dogs have latched onto the basic but beloved object, and neither appears willing to give up. Take a look at these two and see who you think will emerge victorious!

Hilarious and also believable. I'm a bit concerned for the lady these dogs are sitting on. It's tough to tell if one or both legs are under them, but after such a long stretch, that has to feel like quite a weight!

Some imagine what the gorgeous Golden Retrievers are thinking in their silent standoff:
"You let go first! No, you first! No you! I can do this all day!" another viewer commented.
Though simple, compared to other toys, tennis balls are perennially popular, so we get it!

How To Break up a Small Dispute Between PetsThankfully, what's going on between these Goldens seems more like a dispute than a fight. There doesn't seem to be any growling or bad feelings. Maybe they're enjoying this closeness, LOL?
But in situations like these, you don't want it to escalate to the point where fighting or aggression takes place. In this case, you can attempt to distract your dog. So another tennis ball might be enough to get one pooch off the couch. A treat or the promise of a walk could do the trick as well.
We'd love to hear how this little battle ended! We hope they opted to share and have a good game of catch!
Belgian Malinois Puppy Passed Out After Her First Day of Work and It’s a Rare Sight
If you have ever spent time around a Belgian Malinois, you already know they are in a league of their own when it comes to energy, drive, and focus. These dogs are built to work, and they thrive on it. Whether they are training, running, or learning something new, slowing down is usually the last thing on their agenda.
But for Ranger, a 6-month-old Malinois, her first day of work clearly took everything she had. Just like a kid after a long day, she was knocked out in the back of the car, sleeping soundly.
See the rare moment in this March 27 Instagram from @all.about.storm:
Now this is one tired pup! She wasn't even on the cushy bed, but that didn't seem to matter. Even a quick nap wasn't enough to perk her up. Because when she arrived home with her family, she wouldn't even join her brother Storm to race up the driveway.
Related: Belgian Malinois Whippet Mix Racing a 4-Wheeler Is in a League of Her Own
Storm's confusion makes the moment even sweeter. Without his usual sidekick sprinting alongside him, he pauses, almost as if he cannot quite figure out what is going on. But after a full nine-hour shift, Ranger had nothing left in the tank.
Even her fans were quite surprised.
One asked, "How did you find the pause button on a Maligator?"
Viewer @mickies_adventures joked, "I didn't know malinois were capable of sleeping..."
And @keevagsd added "What's the error code? I need to program one in."
Belgian Malinois Are Known for High Energy and Work DriveAccording to the American Kennel Club, the Belgian Malinois is a highly intelligent and intensely active breed originally developed for herding and now widely used in police and military work. They require consistent mental and physical stimulation to stay balanced and happy.
That level of energy is exactly why moments like Ranger's are so rare.

For many Malinois, even a long day would not fully slow them down. They tend to recover quickly and jump right back into action. Seeing a young pup like Ranger completely tapped out is a reminder of just how much effort she must have put into her first day.

It also highlights something easy to forget when watching these high-performance dogs online. They may look unstoppable, but they are still puppies learning, growing, and figuring things out one day at a time.
And occasionally, that means needing a well-earned break.
Sometimes even the most driven pups have their limits, and when they hit them, they sleep just as hard as they play.

Couple Sees Viral Video of Abandoned Dog Tied to a Pole—and Knows They’re Meant to Adopt Him
In Pembroke Park, Florida, a black-and-white Dalmatian-pointer mix was found abandoned and tied to a pole outside a gas station, visibly distressed. Concerned bystanders alerted authorities who rescued the pup and safely transported him to a local shelter.
The story, seen below, was quickly picked up and shared by local news outlet WPLG Local 10. The story gained a lot of attention, ultimately setting the stage for the dog’s happy ending.

It Felt Like a CallingFor one couple, the story wasn’t just upsetting—it felt personal.
According to WPLG Local 10, after seeing the clip online, Michael Puente and his girlfriend couldn’t shake the feeling that they were meant to adopt the dog.
Determined to find him, Puente first visited the gas station where the incident took place, then checked with local police. Eventually, he learned the dog had been taken to Broward County Animal Care.
He and his girlfriend headed straight to the shelter, and the connection was instant. Within moments of meeting him, Puente knew the dog was meant to be his.
He quickly completed the adoption process, and just days later, the dog was officially on his way home.

A New BeginningThe shelter had been calling the dog Scooter, but Puente chose a new name: Zenki.
“Zenki is essentially a first gen in Japanese culture for cars,” Puente told WPLG 10. “He is my first generation dog. He’s my first rescue, my first pet, so I decided to name him Zenki.”
Since bringing him home, Puente says the bond has been instant. Zenki already seeks closeness, leaning into him and showing signs that he feels safe and secure in his new environment.
The Importance of Sharing These StoriesThis heartwarming story is a powerful reminder of how much awareness can matter. Without that viral video—and the people who shared it—Zenki’s story might have gone unnoticed. Instead, it reached the right person at exactly the right time.
Now, a dog who was abandoned and left tied to a pole has a forever home with someone who truly cares about him.
Even if you’re not in a position to adopt, consider this your reminder to share those pet stories. You never know when the right person will see it and change a life.

Massive Bear Rolls Up to Woman's Hummingbird Feeder Like It Was Put There for Him
There are few things funnier than a wild animal acting like your home improvement choices were obviously made with him in mind, and that is exactly the energy in this video from Lake Superior. A massive Bear wanders right up onto a woman’s back porch and starts enjoying her hummingbird feeder like he personally ordered it.
And honestly, the confidence is incredible.
@thesuperiorgardenerSound up to hear my moms reaction. #northernontario #blackbear #gardenhumor
♬ original sound - Lindsey 🇨🇦The feeder is suctioned right onto the sliding glass door, which already makes the whole scene feel extra close for comfort. The woman films the entire thing while this huge bear helps himself on the porch like he is the honored guest at a very niche backyard brunch. He is calm, committed, and clearly not in any rush to leave. It's both fascinating and the kind of thing that would make me forget every single thought I had been having before that moment.
The comments are perfect too. One person wrote, “that’s a pretty big hummingbear 🤣,” which is absolutely correct and should honestly be the official species name for this specific situation. Another said, “Who ever is manufacturing these succion cup should be very proud!!!! 😜😂🤣 They hold!!!!” Also true. Because wow, that feeder really stayed in the fight.
And then comes the ending, which somehow makes the whole thing even better. Once the bear finally leaves, the woman runs to the door, opens it, and yells, “Git!” which is deeply funny because she waited until he was nice and far away before finding that energy. Respectfully, same. I would also wait until the giant porch bear was halfway back to the forest before becoming bold.
A hummingbird feeder is supposed to bring tiny, delicate little visitors. Instead, it has attracted a full-size backyard tank. It is the kind of visual surprise that makes people instantly replay a video and send it to three friends. And as someone whose dog Lola has never seen a bear but would absolutely lose her mind if she did, I can only imagine the chaos if a scene like this ever unfolded outside our door.
Feeders Can Attract More Than BirdsFunny as this is, it is also a good reminder that bears are highly food-motivated and will absolutely investigate easy calories around homes. BearWise says bears can be attracted by bird feeders and that even the sight and smell of feeders can draw them in, which is why they recommend removing feeders when bears are active and removing anything else edible around the home. They also note that if a bear finds food, they may come back, so removing attractants quickly really matters.
Honestly, that bear walked up to that feeder like he had a reservation under the name Hummingbert.

Lion Cub Illegally Sold as a Pet Reunites With Parents at Sanctuary in Heartwarming Rescue
At The Wildcat Sanctuary in Minnesota, a young African lion named Kiros has been reunited with his parents after a long and complicated journey.
According to a press release, Kiros’s story dates back to a rescue operation at a roadside zoo in Quebec, where multiple lions, including his parents, Kim and Carl, were found living in horrible conditions. While the sanctuary was able to rescue nine lions, staff learned that the pair’s first cub had been sold into the illegal pet trade.
🐶SIGN UP to get “pawsitivity” delivered right to your inbox with inspiring & entertaining stories about our furry & feathered friends🐾🐾
A Second Chance, Years in the MakingWhile they always hoped to find the lion cub, his whereabouts remained a mystery. Then, the sanctuary received an unexpected call. Authorities explained that more than a year earlier, they had seized a lion cub from the illegal pet trade and temporarily placed him in an accredited zoo, where he was cared for while legal proceedings tied to the roadside zoo played out. During that time, he was given the name Kiros, meaning “lord.”
Once those proceedings were resolved, Kiros needed a permanent home. And get this: there was reason to believe he might be the missing cub.
The Wildcat Sanctuary reviewed records and photos and confirmed what they had been hoping for—it was him!
With that, the team secured international permits and made a 2,000-plus-mile journey to bring Kiros home.
Kiros Is Settling In WellAccording to a follow-up post on The Wildcat Sanctuary's Facebook, Kiros is settling into a spacious, natural habitat where he can see, hear and smell other lions, including his parents. While introductions are carefully managed for safety, sanctuary staff are hopeful he may bond with other rescued lions.
Sanctuary staff report that Kiros has a healthy appetite, is navigating his new environment with confidence and has a calm, curious personality.
He’s also already begun getting acquainted with his half-sister, Mango, from across the habitat. The two quickly noticed each other and have had positive interactions from a distance.
For now, the focus is on giving Kiros time to fully settle in and decompress after such a long journey. But all signs point to a strong, happy start in his new home.
Related: Southwick’s Majestic Lion Is Completely Mesmerized by the Falling Snow
A Bigger Message Behind the StoryWhile Kiros’s story has a happy ending, it also illuminates a darker reality.
“Kiros’ story highlights the cruelty of roadside zoos and the illegal pet trade,” said Tammy Thies, founder and executive director of The Wildcat Sanctuary, in a press release. “But it also shows what’s possible when animal welfare organizations, accredited sanctuaries and caring supporters work together to give these animals the lives they deserve.”
After everything Kiros and the other rescued lions have been through, they finally have what they were denied from the start: a safe place to live—and a chance to be near family again.
