A recent Reddit post shared exactly this milestone. A cat who once lived outside, entirely untamed, finally decided the best place to sleep was right against their canine sibling.

In the Reddit post, we see a picture of the two animals cuddling together. The dog is calmly snuggled with the cat, and while the cat looks like it's still showing some signs of being cautious, there's no denying they are now cuddled up together.

Feral cats don’t just become cuddly overnight. Something has to change first, and this post is a proof dogs and cats can get there on their own timeline.

Fans loved the love these two are getting from their pet parent. They commented things like, “Great job, there's nothing like those two feeling love for the first time in their lives!” and “Thank you for loving them and giving them the chance to experience a loving home.”

Of course, there were also comments about the facial expression of the cat, with one person saying, “She got that 'i don't want to love this.... but i love this' face.”

Living with a feral cat takes a lot of patience, and it's important to remember that you cannot earn their trust overnight.

For this cat, the turning point didn’t come from a human—it came from a dog. We can assume that the dog was nice and didn’t chase her, corner her or demand any attention. This dog likely simply existed nearby, being calm, predictable and safe.

Animals read energy faster than we do, and over time, the cat likely realized something important: this dog wasn’t a threat. That’s when the distance started shrinking.

As the original poster explained, she got her rescue dog, Tyson, seven years ago. It took him six months to become the well-behaved dog he is now. The cat had zero socialization before, and it took one year of feeding before her parent could touch her. She has been inside for almost four years, and she is finally comfortable around her dog sibling.

Feral cats don’t forget where they came from. Their instincts stay sharp for a reason.

However, they can adapt, and sometimes, the presence of another calm, steady animal helps them get there faster than humans alone.

Gibbs, who appears to be a Dachshund mix, came to the rescue four years ago with serious health issues.

"When he arrived at Old Souls Animal Rescue, Gibbs was in rough shape," the onscreen text in the TikTok from @oldsoulsanimalres explained, with close-ups of the canine's injured back legs. "The first vet we took him to recommended euthanasia. But something told us Gibbs still had so much life left to live."

The rescue staff got a second opinion from another vet, which led to surgically removing the severely damaged areas of Gibbs' back legs.

"A couple of amputations later and Gibbs has fresh new wheels to zoom around in," the story continued as clips of the canine cutie running with his fellow four-legged residents revealed how Gibbs is fully back in action.

The determined dog received a boatload of toys and made lots of human and furry friends at Old Souls. Gibbs was even featured in the rescue's coloring book and walked the runway at their fashion show.

The video highlighted how Gibbs thrived post-op, racing around in his wheelchair and socializing with everyone he met. After his incredible journey at the rescue, Gibbs finally got his forever home.

"More than four years after we were told to put him down, Gibbs has been officially adopted," the text shared, with scenes of the pooch with his new family.

Gibbs' resilience and dedication, along with the love and commitment of the rescue team, finally led to what he always wanted.

This kitty has this strong little jaw, a mostly bare gray head and face, and then a random tuft of hair on top that looks exactly like a bad toupee someone glued on. The rest of him is a confusing mix of Tabby fur and… nothing. Specifically, nothing on his lower half. Which is how we arrive at the deeply unsettling visual of a cat who looks like a balding man who forgot his pants, but decided to carry on, anyway.

People in the comments were immediately losing it.

“Can you ask him to leave? I’m uncomfortable,” one person wrote, which honestly feels fair. I, too, would like a little warning before a half-dressed man-cat wandered into my living space.

In a video posted on social media platform Reddit, we see a golden retriever who came to the Frying Pan Anglers shop in Basalt, Colorado, with his dad, only to become a part-time "employee."

But this employee was caught stealing on the job. The video shows the dog happily carrying glasses around the shop like he is doing an amazing job. In his mind, he is.

Then you realize he’s not stocking shelves. He’s stealing everything he can carry.

At first glance, he seems helpful.

He walks around the shop confidently carrying items like he has a job to do. Customers smile. It feels charming. Almost official. He looks like he works there, but he absolutely does not.

Golden retrievers are among the most popular dogs. Many pet parents love them, and it's easy to see why. They're lovable, loyal and love to have fun—including carrying anything and everything in their mouths.

The urge to pick things up is hardwired into a golden retriever's DNA. Bred as gundogs to retrieve waterfowl, they possess what is known as a "soft mouth." This allows them to carry delicate items without leaving a mark.

Her human was airlifted to safety, but Molly was nowhere to be found, which is the kind of detail that usually breaks hearts before the story is even over.

A few things defintely worth knowing: dogs can overheat. Frenchies with their flat faces often struggle more with temperature regulation than other breeds. Dogs can't sweat to cool down—panting's their main way of releasing heat and cooling down, and it has limits.

Also, dogs can get sunburned, especially on areas like the nose, ear tips, and belly where fur is more sparse. So shade access and fresh water are important.

Trixie the 10-year-old Terrier mix was recently surrendered to a local shelter when her family had to move and couldn't take her with them. The sweet senior pooch is struggling in her new surroundings and is hoping for a second chance.

Trixie's story was shared in a TikTok from @giana_sabatino, explaining that the small and scruffy fur baby was originally adopted from the Providence Animal Center in Media, PA five years earlier and recently returned.

"The shelter is a very confusing place for her at the moment with all of the unfamiliar smells and people," the onscreen text read, adding that Trixie has vision and hearing challenges. "Unfortunately, with older age, this poor girl can't really hear or see."

The canine cutie had on a red plaid coat and sniffed around to try and get her bearings. She's having a hard time adjusting to her new environment. The shelter stoff member who created the post is doing her best to help Trixie feel safe.

"She hasn't really had much of an appetite either," the story continued. "I've been trying to work with her every time I see her to show her it's going to be okay."

The Terrier mix is still getting assessed by the shelter, but is already hoping for her forever home.

"Trixie isn't ready for adoption quite yet," the text noted. "Once she is, she can't wait for someone to open their home for her to live out the rest of her golden years!"

It can be fixed by offering structured engagement like going for a walk or playing fetch before long periods of downtime. She also recommends teaching a reliable “place” cue so your dog learns how to settle on their bed and relax. Enrichment toys and safe, digestible chews can also give your dog something appropriate to focus on while you work and unwind.

Bored dog behaviors can be pretty silly, which is why pet parents may not always recignize them. If your dog chases its tail, chances are they simply have nothing better to do and they are trying to communite that through their body language. “Dogs that are chasing their tails are generally bored,” says JustAnswer dog behavior expert and veteran dog trainer Sally Grottini. “They will spin around and around trying to get a hold of their tail with very little result, before collapsing into a rest period. While tail chasing is funny to owners who watch, it’s also a sign of boredom in the dog.”

Grottini says the key is stepping in before it turns into a habit. Redirect your dog to something more productive, like a new puzzle toy or an interactive game that gets their brain working. Even 15 minutes of basic positive training can make a difference. A short session practicing cues your dog already knows, with rewards and praise, gives them mental stimulation and a clearer outlet for that pent-up energy.

Wondering if your dog is bored? Sometimes, they make it clear in a pretty silly way. A bored dog may get vocal about their frustration by whining, barking, or even showing off dramatic howls, which are all ways dogs try to create their own entertainment. Watching your pup throw a one-dog concert can be equal parts hilarious and exasperating—a perfect example of funny bored dog behavior. “They can act like this until the owner gets them a mentally stimulating toy to play with or takes them outside for play and entertainment,” Grottini explains.

To help prevent this, she recommends being prepared before the noise starts by keeping a few frozen Kongs in the freezer or having a treat dispensing ball on hand to give your dog an appropriate outlet when they need something to do outside. “These options are great because they will take more mental capability as the food will be dispersed in the grass around the yard, causing your dog to use not only its mind, but also scent,” Grottini adds.

Dogs have silly ways of communicating they are bored and asking their pet parents for attaention. If your dog snatches one of your belongings and takes off, consider this a dog behavior that means they need something to do. Socks, shoes and random household items often become props in an impromptu game of chase, especially when a dog has energy to burn. Watching your furry friend sprint around your house with a sock in their mouth is a classic funny bored dog behavior that makes you shake your head and laugh at the same time. “Dogs usually don’t care what the item is, and it might not even be due to smell or taste,” Grottini says. “It’s a way of getting their human to play with them.”

One simple way to curb this funny boredom habit is prevention. Keep doors closed and tempting items out of reach when possible. But management alone won’t solve boredom. Instead, Grottini suggests redirecting your dog with something appropriate instead, like a new or rarely used toy. Offering an approved outlet for play helps meet their need for interaction without turning your living room into a racetrack.

Bored dog behavior can sometimes test a dog owner’s patience, like coming home to shredded couch cushions or pillow stuffing scattered from room to room. While chewing is natural, excessive destruction often points to a dog who is under-stimulated and looking for an outlet. Without enough exercise or mental stimulation, that pent-up energy has to land somewhere and sometimes your furniture becomes the victim. While it might not be LOL-worthy in the moment, you may look back at it and laught.

“While not always funny to humans who have lost a valuable piece of furniture, it’s a funny image to come home to find pillow stuffing or cardboard boxes chewed up into a thousand pieces, spread in different rooms, and your dog’s facial expression says, ‘What are you upset about?’” Grottini explains.

So, how can you help prevent this from occuring? "Sometimes it also helps to play dog calming music while you are gone,” Grottini adds. “YouTube has many calming music videos that you can leave on for 12 or more hours.”

A dog who seems to nap all day might not just be relaxed. In some cases, excessive sleeping can be a sign your dog is bored or disengaged. There’s something comical about a once-energetic pooch now sprawled across the couch like a tiny furry sofa ornament. “When there is a lack of physical and mental stimulation, a dog can become more sluggish,” Grottini explains. “Lacking the stimulation it may need can also run into health issues and cause sleep disorders.”

While a visit to the vet to rule out potential medical reasons for oversleeping is important, small adjustments can help when boredom is the root cause. If you can’t fit in a long walk or extended play session, make sure enrichment toys are within reach. Interactive puzzles and solo play options like a Bungie-style dog toy can offer your pup a productive activity to focus on.

One funny way dogs show boredom is through their actions. In fact, a bored dog may decide your backyard is the perfect place for a renovation project. Digging holes is a common way dogs burn off excess energy, especially if they’re not getting enough exercise or enrichment.

“It’s even worse when there is melting snow or recent rain, causing those holes to be mud pits,” Grottini says. “Your dog will come inside looking like a mudball and be very proud of itself, saying, ‘Look at me’ with much enthusiasm.”

For bored dogs who love to dig, consider creating a designated digging area in your yard. A simple kiddie pool filled with dirt or a small wooden frame sandbox can give your dog an approved outlet. Bury a few toys or safe objects beneath the surface so they learn that digging in that specific spot leads to fun discoveries. Over time, they will start to associate that area with their need to dig, sparing the rest of your yard from becoming a patchwork of craters.

The caption reads, in part, "Welcome to Remington’s forever home! This adorable Great Dane puppy is ready for all his new adventures. His first day includes getting acquainted with a new leash, a crucial step for any new puppy parent."

That's all good and true, but it seems to me that Remington also has to get used to the size of his gigantic feet.

People in the comments immediately heard what I heard, and one person said, "I think his shoes are too big."

Another wrote, "Ma'am, your inside horse is adorable," and by the time he's grown, I think inside horse will be a perfect description of him.

One person chose a pretty similar descriptor and asked, "Bruh-why does it sound like a Clydesdale Horse running around the house?!"

Another watcher said, "Look at those paws! That’s going to be a big Scooby-Doo! Beautiful!"

And then, simply, "Now those are some waffle stompers!" Accurate. Weird, but accurate.

By the time he's a big boy, Remington could weigh over 175 pounds and stand over 36 inches tall, and before his parents know it, he'll be fitting into those big puppy feet with zero problems!

Great Dane puppies have such big feet because they are built for a lot of growing, and their bodies develop a little out of order. Their paws tend to grow first, almost like the foundation, while the rest of their bodies slowly catch up. That is why you will see a Great Dane puppy stomping around on what looks like comically oversized feet, as if they borrowed someone else’s legs for the day and are still figuring them out.

Those big paws are actually a good sign. In large-breed dogs like Great Danes, oversized feet usually mean there is a lot more growth coming. They need that extra size and support to eventually carry a very tall, heavy adult body. It just doesn't all happen at once, so for a while, you get this wonderfully awkward stage where nothing quite matches.

That awkwardness is part of the charm. Their coordination is still catching up, so the big paws make them a little clumsy, a little stompy, and very entertaining to watch. Eventually, though, everything evens out, and those same oversized feet become perfectly proportioned for one very large, very majestic dog.

At first glance, you may have no idea what's going on here, but fellow pet parents could make the correct guess right away.

If you have ever spent time around a Belgian Malinois, you already know they are in a league of their own when it comes to energy, drive, and focus. These dogs are built to work, and they thrive on it. Whether they are training, running, or learning something new, slowing down is usually the last thing on their agenda.

But for Ranger, a 6-month-old Malinois, her first day of work clearly took everything she had. Just like a kid after a long day, she was knocked out in the back of the car, sleeping soundly.

Now this is one tired pup! She wasn't even on the cushy bed, but that didn't seem to matter. Even a quick nap wasn't enough to perk her up. Because when she arrived home with her family, she wouldn't even join her brother Storm to race up the driveway.

Storm's confusion makes the moment even sweeter. Without his usual sidekick sprinting alongside him, he pauses, almost as if he cannot quite figure out what is going on. But after a full nine-hour shift, Ranger had nothing left in the tank.

Even her fans were quite surprised. 

One asked, "How did you find the pause button on a Maligator?"

Viewer @mickies_adventures joked, "I didn't know malinois were capable of sleeping..." 

And @keevagsd added "What's the error code? I need to program one in."

According to the American Kennel Club, the Belgian Malinois is a highly intelligent and intensely active breed originally developed for herding and now widely used in police and military work. They require consistent mental and physical stimulation to stay balanced and happy.

That level of energy is exactly why moments like Ranger's are so rare.

Sprout was decked out in a colorful birthday outfit as the host of his special shindig in the TikTok from @vintagepetrescue. His fur baby friends mingled about in their finest party threads that rivaled an Oscars' "Best Dressed" list.

The 21-year-old Dachshund posed in front of a giant Rhode Island Canine Identification Card, complete with his photo and stats in case he gets carded. Sprout then imbibed in his favorite treat.

"He got his ID and promptly had his first 'legal' Pup Cup," the onscreen text shared as Sprout enjoyed the fluffy mound of whipped cream.

The birthday boy "made the rounds" and socialized with all his guests, making sure everyone had food and drink. Sprout then dug into his custom-made cake and opened a pile of gifts that included a personalized calendar.

Sprout joined Vintage Pet Rescue in August 2025 after his longtime parent passed away. The senior pooch was immediately welcomed by staff and his new furry friends. Sprout has become quite popular at home and on social media, with fans delighting over his sweet nature and lively spirit.

Now at 21 years old and the ID to prove it, Sprout is truly unstoppable.

In Pembroke Park, Florida, a black-and-white Dalmatian-pointer mix was found abandoned and tied to a pole outside a gas station, visibly distressed. Concerned bystanders alerted authorities who rescued the pup and safely transported him to a local shelter.

The story, seen below, was quickly picked up and shared by local news outlet WPLG Local 10. The story gained a lot of attention, ultimately setting the stage for the dog’s happy ending.

For one couple, the story wasn’t just upsetting—it felt personal.

According to WPLG Local 10, after seeing the clip online, Michael Puente and his girlfriend couldn’t shake the feeling that they were meant to adopt the dog.

Determined to find him, Puente first visited the gas station where the incident took place, then checked with local police. Eventually, he learned the dog had been taken to Broward County Animal Care.

He and his girlfriend headed straight to the shelter, and the connection was instant. Within moments of meeting him, Puente knew the dog was meant to be his.

He quickly completed the adoption process, and just days later, the dog was officially on his way home.

The shelter had been calling the dog Scooter, but Puente chose a new name: Zenki.

 “Zenki is essentially a first gen in Japanese culture for cars,” Puente told WPLG 10. “He is my first generation dog. He’s my first rescue, my first pet, so I decided to name him Zenki.” 

Since bringing him home, Puente says the bond has been instant. Zenki already seeks closeness, leaning into him and showing signs that he feels safe and secure in his new environment.

This heartwarming story is a powerful reminder of how much awareness can matter. Without that viral video—and the people who shared it—Zenki’s story might have gone unnoticed. Instead, it reached the right person at exactly the right time.

A massive Bear wanders right up onto a woman’s back porch and starts enjoying her hummingbird feeder like he personally ordered it.

The feeder is suctioned right onto the sliding glass door, which already makes the whole scene feel extra close for comfort. The woman films the entire thing while this huge bear helps himself on the porch like he is the honored guest at a very niche backyard brunch. He is calm, committed, and clearly not in any rush to leave. It's both fascinating and the kind of thing that would make me forget every single thought I had been having before that moment.

The comments are perfect too. One person wrote, “that’s a pretty big hummingbear 🤣,” which is absolutely correct and should honestly be the official species name for this specific situation. Another said, “Who ever is manufacturing these succion cup should be very proud!!!! 😜😂🤣 They hold!!!!” Also true. Because wow, that feeder really stayed in the fight.

And then comes the ending, which somehow makes the whole thing even better. Once the bear finally leaves, the woman runs to the door, opens it, and yells, “Git!” which is deeply funny because she waited until he was nice and far away before finding that energy. Respectfully, same. I would also wait until the giant porch bear was halfway back to the forest before becoming bold.

A hummingbird feeder is supposed to bring tiny, delicate little visitors. Instead, it has attracted a full-size backyard tank. It is the kind of visual surprise that makes people instantly replay a video and send it to three friends. And as someone whose dog Lola has never seen a bear but would absolutely lose her mind if she did, I can only imagine the chaos if a scene like this ever unfolded outside our door.

Funny as this is, it is also a good reminder that bears are highly food-motivated and will absolutely investigate easy calories around homes. BearWise says bears can be attracted by bird feeders and that even the sight and smell of feeders can draw them in, which is why they recommend removing feeders when bears are active and removing anything else edible around the home. They also note that if a bear finds food, they may come back, so removing attractants quickly really matters. 

Honestly, that bear walked up to that feeder like he had a reservation under the name Hummingbert.

At The Wildcat Sanctuary in Minnesota, a young African lion named Kiros has been reunited with his parents after a long and complicated journey.

According to a press release, Kiros’s story dates back to a rescue operation at a roadside zoo in Quebec, where multiple lions, including his parents, Kim and Carl, were found living in horrible conditions. While the sanctuary was able to rescue nine lions, staff learned that the pair’s first cub had been sold into the illegal pet trade.

While they always hoped to find the lion cub, his whereabouts remained a mystery. Then, the sanctuary received an unexpected call. Authorities explained that more than a year earlier, they had seized a lion cub from the illegal pet trade and temporarily placed him in an accredited zoo, where he was cared for while legal proceedings tied to the roadside zoo played out. During that time, he was given the name Kiros, meaning “lord.”

Once those proceedings were resolved, Kiros needed a permanent home. And get this: there was reason to believe he might be the missing cub.

The Wildcat Sanctuary reviewed records and photos and confirmed what they had been hoping for—it was him!

With that, the team secured international permits and made a 2,000-plus-mile journey to bring Kiros home.

According to a follow-up post on The Wildcat Sanctuary's Facebook, Kiros is settling into a spacious, natural habitat where he can see, hear and smell other lions, including his parents. While introductions are carefully managed for safety, sanctuary staff are hopeful he may bond with other rescued lions.

Sanctuary staff report that Kiros has a healthy appetite, is navigating his new environment with confidence and has a calm, curious personality.

He’s also already begun getting acquainted with his half-sister, Mango, from across the habitat. The two quickly noticed each other and have had positive interactions from a distance.

For now, the focus is on giving Kiros time to fully settle in and decompress after such a long journey. But all signs point to a strong, happy start in his new home.

While Kiros’s story has a happy ending, it also illuminates a darker reality.

“Kiros’ story highlights the cruelty of roadside zoos and the illegal pet trade,” said Tammy Thies, founder and executive director of The Wildcat Sanctuary, in a press release. “But it also shows what’s possible when animal welfare organizations, accredited sanctuaries and caring supporters work together to give these animals the lives they deserve.”

After everything Kiros and the other rescued lions have been through, they finally have what they were denied from the start: a safe place to live—and a chance to be near family again.
