Buddy was relaxing on his cushy mat and cozy pillow in the TikTok from @doggiesbeautysalon. Decked out in his comfy duckie onesie, Buddy looked like a tired toddler about to go down for a nap.

At first glance, the canine cutie resembled a Golden Retriever puppy with his fluffy, honey-colored fur. Yet there were definite hints of another breed mixed in, especially in his small build.

His playful, somewhat clumsy movements were very puppy-ish, adding to his youthful appearance. Buddy's adorable face would probably have people guessing his fur baby age at about 6 months, but they'd be way off.

"I don't think he knows he's 15," the onscreen text shared, with the caption adding, "Hands down I have the actual forever puppy... what a baby he is."

Raising Chicks 101

Raising baby chicks is actually pretty straightforward—but they do need the right setup from day one. The biggest priority? Warmth, safety, and consistency (and massage LOL). Baby chicks can’t regulate their body temperature yet, so they need a brooder (basically their starter home) that stays warm—around 90–95°F the first week, then gradually cooler each week as they grow. 

The brooder itself doesn’t have to be fancy—a large box or bin works—but it does need clean bedding, good airflow, and enough space so they’re not piling on top of each other. Pine shavings are typically recommended, and keeping things clean is non-negotiable if you want healthy chicks. 

Food and water are simple but important. Chicks should always have access to fresh water and a chick starter feed, which is specially formulated to support their early growth. Skip treats at first—they need proper nutrition more than snacks. 

You’ll also notice they grow fast. Within a few weeks, they go from tiny fluff balls to awkward teenagers with patchy feathers. Around 6 weeks (give or take), once they’re fully feathered and the weather cooperates, they can start transitioning outside.

1. They mimick your posture

Dogs reveal a lot about their thoughts and feelings—and even yours—through their body language. When your dog mirrors your posture, it’s often a sign they are picking up on your emotions and reflecting your mood. "If you are lounding, they may lounge alongside you on a lazy weekend. On the other hand, if you are alert and listening intently, they are likely to follow your lead and perk their ears up." "If you start excitedly jumping or shouting, your pup may follow suit," Dr. Chambers states. "They tend to feed off of owner behavior, including at times of celebration and joy."

5. They act calm when you are relaxed

If you're calm, cool and collected, chases are your dog will be too. "When you are relaxed, your dog feels like they, too, can relax," Dr. Chambers says. "They sense that they can let their guard down when you do."

In this instance, if you want to see if your pup is relaxing when you are, look for soft bodies, sleeping near you or them sighing deeply in your presence. These are all clues your dog is chill—just like (and because of) you.

If you're ever in a new environment or experiencing changes, chances are you may be more on alert than usual and not want to be alone. It turns out, you're not the only one. In fact, many dogs will mimic those same emotions their owner feels. It just goes to show an example of another way pets can mirror their humans as they can experience anxiety and stress due to changes in their environment being altered too. "In those moments, pets may seek comfort, which they can find by being close to you, a familiar face, the same way you may find comfort in their presence," Dr. Chambers shares.

7. They comfort you when you're sad

Can dogs sense your feelings? They can! One more way a dog can copy your emotions is when you're feeling sad. They can read the room and know that you're feeling blue and as a result they will not only experience the same feelings, but they will also try to be there for you.

"Just as humans learn how to detect the emotions of their peers, dogs can detect the emotions of their owners," Dr. Chambers reveals. "They can sense strong emotions, especially sadness or anger. If you’re upset, your dog may snuggle with you, or even lick your face to help comfort you."

Jack Russell Terriers Have a Lot of Energy

The tiny yet colorful Rooster was in his cozy nest, surrounded by his family. They wanted him to say his "first words" and tried to motivate him by playing some Rooster sounds on YouTube.

When the tiny male chick heard the fowl-friendly noises, he clearly felt a certain kinship and wanted to give the vocalization a try for himself. The little Rooster screwed up his courage, took a breath, and let out his first adorable "cock-a-doodle-doo". The sound was a bit squawky, but it was a solid inaugural attempt. His family laughed in amazement at little chicken's mighty accomplishment.

Followers gave props to the baby Rooster's for his efforts and encouraged him to keep trying.

"I hatched and raised so many chickens and I never witnessed such a young Rooster crowing — this is so funny and cute," someone posted.

A Disappearance That Changed Everything

Back in 2018, Michelle Bluestone adopted a Schnauzer mix named Lola, and the two quickly became inseparable. For three years, they were constant companions, until one day in 2021, Lola slipped through a backyard fence and vanished. It’s every pet parent’s worst nightmare. 

Bluestone spent months searching for her dog. She put up flyers and posted messages on local Facebook pages, asking strangers and fellow pet parents to "please help me find my baby."

She held onto hope that Lola’s microchip would eventually lead to a phone call. But as time passed with no sightings, no updates and no leads, that hope slowly faded. Eventually, she was forced to accept that she likely would never see Lola again.

In the years that followed, life kept moving. According to KTLA 5 and her own Facebook updates, Bluestone got married, started a new job, moved to another part of L.A., continued her education and even adopted another dog.

An Unbelievable Call

Then, in February 2026, everything changed. A dog had been found on the side of the road in Los Angeles, alone but alive. After being brought to a police station and transferred to a local animal shelter, staff scanned the dog’s microchip.

It was Lola. After five years, the call Bluestone had once waited for finally came.

"I was in such shock and couldn't even believe it," Bluestone said in a KTLA 5 news clip. 

The Emotional Reunion

When Bluestone arrived at the shelter, the reunion was exactly what you’d expect after years apart—emotional, overwhelming and unforgettable.

Wrapped in a blanket, Lola was brought out to see her. Bluestone covered her mouth, visibly emotional, as the reality of the moment hit. Against all odds, they had found their way back to each other.

A New Chapter Begins

Lola, now 11 years old, did need some medical care after being found, including treatment for overgrown nails and the removal of 11 rotted teeth. But overall, she was in surprisingly good condition.

Since then, she’s been recovering and adjusting to her new life, getting to know the family that grew while she was gone.

Stories like this are rare, but they’re a powerful reminder of why microchipping—and keeping the microchip information up to date—is so important. Because sometimes, even after years apart, happy endings are still possible.

And honestly, once you see Grandma’s house, it all makes sense.

The caption says, “You Never Give Me Blueberries. Just Saying.” Which, frankly, is a strong case. Because when Moose gets there, we see him happily planted on Grandma’s floor, receiving blueberries like the beloved little prince he clearly is. The look on his face while he gazes up at her is incredibly sweet. You can see the love immediately. This is not just a dog getting a snack. This is a grandson visiting the woman who understands him.

Because Grandma’s house is not just about blueberries. It's also apparently Moose’s social calendar.

Given her past, it’s not surprising, and it has nothing to do with Jacob himself. Marmie is still decompressing from a difficult background, and even calm, well-meaning interactions can feel overwhelming at first.

While every situation is different, things at Benny's crib work because he was raised to befriend all the other pets like any fur siblings. The dogs seemed more than ready to help little Benny out, and I think that helped him accept and love the ducks the way he was loved and accepted.

In the wild, deer and ducks are known to coexist and graze together. A lot of this has to do with neutrality, as neither ducks nor deer sees the other as a threat. Since deer can be curious and playful at times, it's not uncommon for ducks to take notice and want to join in the fun.

Likewise, ducks born to a wide variety of other pets will imprint, learning the ways of the world from them. I guess sweet Benny was up for the task! We can't all live the Disney life with our own version of Benny and the Ducks, but a girl can dream!

White kittens are not the most common, but they are not extremely rare either. Their coloring comes from a specific genetic trait that masks other coat colors, which is why they appear fully white even if they carry different genes underneath.

One thing people often notice with white kittens is their eye color. Many, like Pearl, have pale blue eyes when they are young, though some may change as they grow. Others can even have two different colored eyes, which only adds to that already striking look.

Smudge the Boy is so beautiful, but he caused a whole lot of confusion. The shelter he was staying in had him listed as a Malinois-Pit Bull mix, which would have been a wild mix on its own... But he's actually not that.

Instead, they did a DNA test, and he's a Husky-Cane Corso mix. His family adopted him as the tiniest puppy, and he's really grown into a big, beautiful boy. They were urged to DNA test him when literally no one in the comments could agree on what he looked like he might be!

According to his mom, there was also a little bit of Mastiff in his DNA; this is going to be a big boy! He inherited absolutely none of the Mastiff chill genes, though. He doesn't like to be chill, even when it's bedtime!

Watching the Dachshund shun the Doodle's invitation makes us wonder: Are Dachshunds playful? It turns out that most of the time, yes, they are! This breed, known for short statures, is usually spunky and social, according to the American Kennel Club.

They're also known to be good with other dogs. So what's going on here? Based on the fact that the Dachshund is standing and then sitting on a bed, we have to imagine it's nap time. Maybe these two played earlier in the day, and now the Dachshund is worn out. Not all pups have the same amount of energy! If the little one tried to keep up with the big one, it could be wearying!
