Tabby Cat Goes to the Beach and Completely Loses Her Mind
If you need an excellent dose of hilarity, a Tabby cat named Fwenny stepped onto a beach and reacted like she had just entered a haunted Victorian carnival run by seagulls. In the hilarious clip, Fwenny races across the sand with her back arched, her body spring-loaded, and her whole vibe like a “tiny Halloween spider." The organ music playing in the background only makes it better, because this does not look like an ordinary beach day.
The caption says, “You bring your cat to the beach, and this is what she does,” which is already funny, but Fwenny takes it to another level. She does not stroll. She does not cautiously inspect. She absolutely launches. She Halloween hops, zooms, crabs around in the sand, and generally behaves like the beach just whispered something deeply unsettling directly into her little Tabby soul. It is one of those pet videos that somehow gets funnier the longer you watch, because every second feels like she is making a brand-new, dramatic decision.
@courtandnatebeach goers beware👹👻 #rescuecat #zoomies #whackytime
♬ sonido original - Adrian pianistaThe hilarious clip, shared by @courtandnate, had people in the comments loving Fwenny's beach day.
“I love cats that crab,” one person wrote.
“I just love the idea of cats on the beach,” said another, which honestly feels correct. It should not be this charming, and yet it really is.

A third commenter joked, “Why is my litter box... everywhere,” which is such a perfect cat thought process that I am almost mad I did not think of it first.
Other viewers were quick to point out that Fwenny was not upset at all. “For those who don’t know cat body language, this is all play behavior. Kitty’s thrilled to be at the beach,” one person explained.
“I love when cats are spooky,” another viewer wrote, which might be the most accurate summary of the entire clip.
Then there was this comment: “Clearly, you picked a suspicious beach. The sand is too sandy, the water looks too watery, the sunset is too sunsetty. The zoomies will be too zoomie, downright creepy, if you will, but cute nonetheless.”
That one really gets it. Fwenny is not just having zoomies. She is having themed zoomies.
And of course, one more person summed up her transformation perfectly: “She is becoming a crab.”
That is exactly what is happening here.
How To Keep Your Cat Safe at the Beach @courtandnateTonkins & Fwenny’s van tour💭💕 #vantour #vanlife #vanlifewithpets #campervan
♬ House Tour - Sabrina CarpenterAs adorable as Fwenny’s beach adventure is, it should be noted that she is a van-life rescue cat who is very used to traveling. She is clearly comfortable being out in the world, and according to her family, she knows to come back to her cat mom and dad when called. That is not something most kitties are going to do in a brand-new outdoor environment full of wind, noise, open space, gulls, and approximately one million weird smells.
For most cats, a beach trip should absolutely involve a secure harness and leash. Even a confident cat can get spooked in a split second, and once panic kicks in, good luck. Each of my three kitties would probably react by making one terrible life choice after another and running away. So while Fwenny makes this look funny and effortless, the average cat needs a lot more structure and protection.
It's also smart to make sure your cat is microchipped before any kind of outdoor adventure. A collar can come off. A harness can slip if it isn't fitted correctly. A microchip gives you a much better chance of being reunited if your cat bolts or gets lost.

Gigantic Rare Cat Looks Like a Mini Tabby Tiger
Every once in a great moon, a rare cat comes along who's so majestic, so mind-blowing, you'll be thinking about them for the rest of your life. Everyone has a different definition of what constitutes one of these felines, and even my criteria changes based on the latest cool kitty.
That's where Dexter comes in. At first glance, he looks like any other Tabby cat multiplied by 10. When you look closer, you'll see that this rare cat is an F6SavannahCat, which is really the cutest mini tiger!
Click here to watch the video.
The wholesome video shows this humongous cat in all his glory while Mom strokes his head and back. He's got the classic Tabby cat striped pattern, but it's hard to *not* be distracted by his colossal paws—not to mention how gigantic he looks next to Mom!
He's what a normal, everyday Tabby would look like if they hopped in a futuristic machine to double, triple, and even quadruple in size! I'll bet his kitten pics are adorable, too.
Related: Rare All-Black Ragdoll Cat Looks Like She's Been Dipped in Ink
For further evidence that Dexter is a big boy, I did a little digging. Last summer, Mom showed off just how huge he was when she held him. He looked like he was the size of a human toddler!
Click here to watch the video.
About Savannah CatsDexter's bio says he's a "F6 SBT Savannah Cat," which means he's a sixth-generation hybrid feline as defined by Stud Book Tradition (which deems these cats as purebred). There are six generations bred from a wild African Serval, with three generations as Savannah to Savannah to ensure they have the affectionate, docile temperament like other domestic cats.
As big as Dexter is, these kitties can grow to be 25 pounds or more, like their wild counterparts! It's really cool that they keep the tradition of spotted or striped fur like their Serval ancestors!
Though an F6 is legal in most states, that's not always the case, and with the F1 or F2, they're a lot closer to an actual Serval and less likely to be as domestic as a cutie like Dexter. Whatever he's titled as, he's one handsome mini tiger!

Baby Lamb Thinks She's a Dog and Bonds With the Pack
Animals often find common ground with each other regardless of species. We've all seen the viral videos of pigs palling around with cats, deer befriending dogs, and other unlikely combos of furry companions. Many animals spend time together for various reasons and form lifelong bonds.
Peppermint the baby lamb definitely feels a kinship with canines and seems to consider herself a full-fledged puppy.
@riverjordannetworkToday is the last day to get the first round of peppermint stickers! New batch drops at midnight 💥 Link in bio. Anyone know what kind of breed this lamb-pup is? Thought she was a babydoll sheep, but she seems to have other plans… #peppermintthelamb #peppermintpup #farmlife #animalfriends
♬ original sound - River Jordan NetworkThe adorable baby black lamb was apparently trying to get her mom's permission to let her run with her pooch pals in the TikTok from @riverjordannetwork.
"That's probably too much for a baby — remember how you're not a dog?" her mom gently asked. Still, her mom relented and let her go have fun with the other fur babies.
"Oh my gosh," her mom said under her breath as she pensively watched the animals frolic in the distance. "Please bless that lamb is with them. They just went around a five-acre pond."
One by one, the dogs reappeared with Peppermint following close behind. The baby lamb even mimicked the dogs' stride to blend in. Peppermint was out of breath when she greeted her mom, but clearly had a blast.
"How are you doing, hon?" her mom asked. "Yeah, I bet you're panting. That's a huge run... Come on, kiddo. Let's go get some water."
Regardless of how winded the little lamb was, the physical exertion was clearly worth it by the look of joy on Peppermint's face.
Peppermint's Special Bond With PoplarPrevious TikToks on the social media account feature more puppy-like behavior from Peppermint, where she's jumping, running, and chilling with the pack. Her mom even had special lamb/dog stickers made to celebrate her canine persona.
One video revealed her close relationship with Poplar, the farm's designated livestock guardian dog. The two furry friends spend a lot of time together snuggling and enjoying farm life.
"Nothing can keep this lamb from her protector, Poplar," the caption shared.

Followers raved over the fur babies' friendship and considered Peppermint an honorary pup.
"Oh my goodness. I’m sorry to break this to you, but you have two dogs," one remarked.
"Cutest puppy ever — friends for life," another noted.
Maybe Peppermint will eventually realize her true heritage, but in the meantime, she loves being a part of the pooch pack.

Clever Labrador ‘Holds Out’ on Fetch Until the Perfect Treat Deal Is Made
If you're a dog parent, you know that fetch is one of the most beloved activity games to play. And it can be a really great tool not just for exercise and play, but also as a teaching tool, especially when used with something like a treat. But some pups use this to their advantage, too.
Like this Labrador, for example, who has clearly outgrown playing fetch for free. Now, he's using the task more to his advantage and refuses to participate unless proper compensation is involved, and it's hilarious. Take a look!

Labradors Are Known for Their Chill TemperamentsReuben is a really sweet dog, and we can see that easily just from this one clip: the way he's patiently waiting and doing his best to figure out what's going on. And his chill temperament here is pretty expected for a Labrador Retriever.
According to the American Kennel Club, Labrador Retrievers are known for being "active, friendly, [and] outgoing," which is why they're "one of America's most popular dog breeds." They love their people, and bonding with several family members (or the whole family) is something these pups enjoy because they're very social. They're known for being "easygoing," but they also require a home that allows them ample time to run off their energy.
Sweet Reuben is having a great time playing fetch, burning off his steam, and although he's a little confused at times, he also knows exactly what he's doing here.
Mom Adopts Dark German Shepherd Only to Find a Golden Surprise 3 Years Later
When she was first adopted, her coat was deep, dark, almost shadow-like.
Now, standing in the same spot three years later, she looks like a completely different dog. Same eyes. Same posture. Same presence.
But the coat? Lighter. Softer. Almost unrecognizable compared to the dark coloring she had when she was first adopted. It's the kind of change that makes you double-check old photos just to be sure.
How Are Fans Reacting to It?One thing is certain with German shepherds: they are unpredictable. As fans put it in the comments on the Reddit post, things can look different.
They commented things like, "You genuinely cannot predict what color a shepherd puppy will be as an adult, it's chaos every time," "It's amazing the color changes in shepherds. You can never match puppy pictures with adult," and "Mine turned inside out too lol."
Related: Hilarious Reason People Keep Calling This Pink-Loving Shepherd ‘He’
Why German Shepherds Change Color Over TimeWhat happened here isn't rare, but it is surprising if you've never seen it before.
German Shepherds often experience changes in coat color as they mature. Puppies are especially unpredictable. Many Shepherds are born darker and gradually lighten as their adult coat comes in.
This shift is influenced by genetics, specifically how pigment is distributed over time. The outer coat (guard hairs) and undercoat can change independently, creating noticeable transitions in shade.
Does This Happen to Every German Shepherd? Not every German Shepherd goes through a dramatic transformation. Some dogs keep nearly identical coloring their entire lives. Others go through noticeable transitions, especially within the first two to three years.
Sable German Shepherds are the most striking example. They can shift so dramatically between seasons that owners sometimes struggle to match puppy photos to adult ones—same dog, completely different silhouette.
The Moment It Clicks for Pet ParentsEvery dog parent has that moment where they realize their dog isn't exactly the same as when they first met them.
Not just physically, but in presence. You notice it in photos. In habits. In the way they carry themselves.
The color change just makes that evolution visible. Dogs aren't static. They develop, settle, and sometimes surprise you long after you think you know them completely.

- These birds do enjoy returning to the same place every spring, so this is very likely the same bird this family sees each year building a nest in their yard.
- Every spring, these small birds travel 4,000 miles to Alaska from Mexico, and they do the traveling all alone.
- These birds come in a huge variety of colors, and their feathers can be really bright. There are also more than 340 living Hummingbird species, the site explains.

Pomeranian Mix Looks Like a Real Life Baby Bear and It’s Too Much
My Pug mix has a honey-colored coat, tiny ears that curl down at the ends, and big, round eyes that resemble a lion cub. Many people have compared him to Simba from the Disney hit, The Lion King. Sometimes our pups have attributes that mimic other animals, giving them a very non-canine appearance.

The dark brown color and fluffy texture of his fur mirrored that of a baby bear. Stanley's head shape, pointed ears, wide eyes, and sitting posture, all wrapped along with his cub-like body, radiated bear vibes rather than canine heritage.
Stanley's resemblance to a baby bear could literally stop people in their tracks. If you look really closely, you may be able to pick up hints of Pom and Schipperke, but you're more likely to see a doppelganger of Paddington or Little Bear.
Followers had a hard time believing Stanley is actually a dog.
"I really thought you had a bear cub," someone remarked.

Mischief-Making Schnauzer Sporting Cobalt Collar Is One Proud Boy
I've been lucky in that neither of my two dogs has ever needed to wear the cone of shame. The thought of it makes me laugh because I know exactly how each would react: my Corgi would find a way to pull it off, while my senior Staffy would sadly accept his fate, reminding me with every pitiful puppy-eyed glance my way.
Nash, a Miniature Schnauzer, doesn't fit either of those reactions. Instead, he's quite proud of his blue collar, and it's not going to stop him from doing his favorite things—even if he can't dig himself out of the yard like he'd prefer!

To be completely fair, Nash does know how to make a cobalt cone of shame look good. It could be his confidence or the fact that it's such a perfect hue of blue; it's just working for him.
When he's not trying to dig out an escape tunnel worthy of getting the collar, he's an adorable little dude who carries his stuffie on a walk with Mom. It's enough to make you forget his shortcomings (like digging) altogether!

These pups have big personalities, lots of energy, and even more charm, but with that stubborn streak, they could be a bit mischievous. It's all good, though, because they're also excellent watchdogs and sweet, affectionate companions, rounding things out. Others were slightly concerned about the logistics, like, “I'm assuming no numbing involved first?” and “Can you show us her abilities and possibly give us an honest review?” which… proceed at your own risk.
Then there were the true believers. “I love Slapora!!! Look younger all the time. LOL,” and “I'll accept Slaporas from your cat's business so long as the slaps come with Sephora products, too. What y'all got?” which honestly feels like a reasonable request.
And of course, the one comment that took a turn, “I'm not usually one to gossip, but I heard that the instruments were being taken in the bathroom and then not sanitized,” which… not ideal.

Why Cats Love Boxes Orange Cat with mouth open wide in a cardboard box.Image via Lightspruch/Shutterstock
Cats and boxes are one of life’s great mysteries, except it is actually not that mysterious once you think about it. Boxes provide security, warmth, and a defined space where kitties can feel safe while still observing everything around them.
In the wild, small enclosed spaces help cats hide from predators and sneak up on prey. That instinct still exists, even in very pampered house cats who have never hunted anything more serious than a sock.
Boxes also hold heat, which makes them extra appealing for naps. Add in the fact that it's a new object in their environment, and suddenly it becomes the most important place in the house.
Which is how you end up with a fully established skincare business operating out of a cardboard box.

Hummingbird Migration Is Underway—Track Their Spring Return on This Map
I'm very fortunate that where I live in Los Angeles, I get to delight in hummingbird activity year-round. But Spring and Summer definitely bring peak activity, particularly for feeder usage, and this year, hummingbirds will be returning to various parts of the entire country even earlier than usual. In fact, they’re already on their way.
Spring heat is speeding things up in 2026, so hummingbirds have started arriving in the Southeast and are now moving north. If you live in the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, you’re looking at early to mid-April for the first arrivals, with most sightings landing toward the latter half of the month.
You can use this interactive 2026 Hummingbird Spring Migration Map to check when and where certain types of hummingbirds have been spotted in your area.
The early birds (literally) are usually the males, who show up first to claim territory before the females arrive a couple of weeks later. Some have already been spotted as far north as Virginia.
These tiny overachievers travel hundreds (sometimes thousands) of miles from Central America, flapping their wings up to 70 times per second and fueling up constantly along the way. But this year, extreme heat in parts of the Southwest has dried up some of their natural food sources, so feeders are extra helpful right now.
And if you want to be the house they remember, put your feeder out now. To make a homemade sugar water mix for hummingbirds, mix 4 cups of water with 1 cup of sugar. Boil the water, slowly pour over the sugar to dissolve it, then cool completely before adding to the feeder. In hot weather above 80 degrees, change out the water every 2-3 days; otherwise, change hummingbird food every 5-7 days.
To create a heavenly setting for you and them, it’s less about one perfect plant and more about creating a steady, all-season buffet. Plant a mix that blooms from early spring through fall, so they always have nectar while passing through or settling in. As for favorites, hummingbirds consistently go for bright, nectar-rich, tubular flowers—basically anything shaped like a tiny cocktail glass they can dip into.
Some standouts include:
- Cardinal flower – arguably the MVP, especially in red
- Trumpet honeysuckle – classic hummingbird magnet
- Salvia – long bloom time, super reliable
- Foxglove – tall, showy, and nectar-rich
- Lupine – great early-season option
Hummingbirds tend to return to the same areas—and even the same feeders—year after year, so once you’ve had them, you’re basically on their map. They’ll stick around through summer, then head south again by early fall—so this is your window to get in good with these tiny but mighty winged wonders.

Rare Bird Extinct 300 Years Hatched and They're Like Fuzzy Balls of Dryer Lint
One of the world's most critically endangered species, the Bermuda Cahow, is making a major comeback. With only around 450 of these incredibly rare birds in existence, the hatching of a brand-new baby is a milestone worth celebrating. On March 13, 2026, the little one made their debut, proving, in the words of Jurassic Park, "Life finds a way."
View this post on InstagramThe first baby Cahow hatching on Nonsuch Island marks the amazing restoration efforts of the Cahow Recovery Program. The fluffy dryer lint-looking baby is one of more than 70 chicks hatched this breeding season and couldn't be any cuter!
As explained by @nonsuchexpeditions, mama Cahow endured a 5-day-long hatching process, which started pipping (cracking open their shell) on March 8.
But, in true Maury Povich fashion, there are questions about the paternity of the new baby chick. Though Cahows are known to be monogamous, "This is the second year in a row Sampson’s new mate engaged with another male prior to his return," making "who's your daddy" a literal and curious situation with Bermuda's national treasure!
Related: African Grey Parrot Mocking Sick Mom Deserves a 'Best Comedy' Oscar
Cahows Were Once ExtinctAs the third-rarest bird on the planet, Cahows are believed to have gone extinct for more than 300 years (1620 to 1951) before several popped up. Since then, conservationists like Bermuda's Cahow Recovery Program have worked tirelessly to bring the population numbers back up.
What began with 17 to 18 breeding pairs in 1960 eventually grew to 55 in 2001, and now there are an impressive 185+ pairs. When breeding is successful, each pair only produces a single egg every year, and nearly half fail to hatch (hence why they're so rare). Both Mom and Dad help incubate their egg, because shared parenting is the way of the land.
Here's a look at the cutest baby chick in the world:
View this post on InstagramOnce these babies are hatched and in the world, they're left alone for up to a week before their parents expect them to learn how to fly out to sea, and there, they spend upward of three to six years alone before they're ready to partner up and nest.
Another cool fact about these birds is their ability to sleep in flight, letting one side of the brain take a snooze while the other side stays alert, switching sides to let the other side get some rest. That's truly iconic, and I wish I could go through life like this!
Nonsuch Island is the only location on the planet where the Cahows go to breed, which means the newest chick isn't only rare, but Bermuda's most adorable attraction.

The locator tag and collar are available in black and white, and will be available at Aldi stores on April 8.
How It WorksThe AirPet tag works by connecting to Apple's Find My network, the same system used to locate lost iPhones.
Once you pair the tag with your Apple device, it becomes visible in the Find My app. So you can check your pet's last known location directly from your iPhone, iPad or Mac. This gives you a starting point if your dog or cat becomes lost.
The tag doesn't rely on GPS or a cellular plan. Instead, it uses nearby Apple devices, like iPhones and iPads, to securely and anonymously relay its location back to you. So if someone with an Apple device passes near your pet, their device can help update its location without them even knowing.
There's also a built-in sound feature. If your pet is nearby but out of sight—like hiding behind the couch or exploring the backyard a little too quietly—you can play a sound through the tag to help you track them down quickly.
What to Keep in MindBecause this device relies on nearby Apple devices in the Find My network to update location data, it tends to work best in populated areas where there are more devices to ping.
It's also designed specifically for Apple users, so you'll need an iPhone, iPad or Mac to set it up and track your pet.
And importantly, this isn't a replacement for microchipping or proper ID tags. Think of it as an extra layer of security—a helpful backup, especially for curious pets who like to wander.
At this price point, it might just be one of the easiest upgrades you can make for a little extra peace of mind.

Rescue Husky Found 'Alone on a Chain' Now Island Hops on Vacation With Forever Family
Animal rescue founder Niall Harbison shares stories on social media about the street dogs he saves and rehabilitates in Thailand. His Happy Doggo organization continues to evolve and now includes a sanctuary, medical center, and retirement village for senior dogs.
Harbison often finds families to adopt these precious pooches. Iris the Husky is one dog whose life took a dramatic turn for the better after being rescued from horrible circumstances.
View this post on InstagramIris was saved from unbearable living conditions in Thailand by Harbison and his team. The Husky mix was held captive by a short chain and kept outdoors in all types of severe weather.
"We found this Husky alone on a chain," the onscreen text in the Instagram video from @niall.harbison explained. "She had been used for breeding. She was utterly broken."
The caption shared Iris's story in further heartbreaking detail on how she was "left outside in the worst weather, battling severe heat and rain in Thailand after having endless puppies. She had pretty much given up on life."
Harbison and his team brought Iris to the health clinic at Happy Doggo for immediate medical intervention. She was severely underweight, anemic, and infested with ticks and fleas. In addition to vital health care, Iris received lots of love and affection from the Happy Doggo team.
Iris Is Living Life to the FullestThe sweet Husky flourished under Harbison's care and was adopted by a forever family, complete with fur baby siblings. Iris now has a wonderful home and gets to go on plenty of adventures as a beloved family member.
"Her new family includes 2 other dogs and humans who adore her and take her on adventures like island hopping," the caption revealed, with clips of Iris and her fellow furry siblings lounging on a boat as it sailed the waters. "I don’t think I’ve ever been as happy for a dog as I have for Iris because I know where she came from and how much she was totally broken."
Harbison saw all that Iris had endured and was thrilled for her new life. "Nobody deserves this more than Iris," the onscreen text concluded.

Newborn Bunnies Ready for Dinner Look Like Tiny Popping Popcorn
Most baby animal videos are sweet in a gentle, sleepy way. And then there are the ones that make you laugh out loud because nature apparently decided chaos was the cutest option. This Bunny video is firmly in the second category.
In the clip, we see a cluster of newborn bunnies doing what honestly looks less like nursing prep and more like popcorn exploding in a pan. Or maybe those little bingo balls bouncing around in the machine before one gets called. Either way, it is wildly adorable. They are all tiny, eager, spring-loaded little fluff beans, and the whole scene is so funny you almost forget there is a very practical reason behind the chaos.
@youngnik123Popcorn babies are the cutest! No, they are not scared, this is a feeding response. Notice how they lift their heads up quick? That’s so they can latch onto a teat and drink milk. #babybunnies #cute #arba #blueholicer #rabbit
♬ original sound - Niki YoungThe post caption explains it perfectly: “Popcorn babies are the cutest! No, they are not scared, this is a feeding response. Notice how they lift their heads up quick? That’s so they can latch onto a teat and drink milk.” That makes the whole thing even better, because what looks completely unhinged is actually a built-in survival instinct. These little bunnies are not being random. They are locked in on dinner.
Still, the visual is incredible. They really do look like they are being powered by pure milk panic. One second they are a pile of tiny bodies, and the next they are all popping up at once in this frantic, hilarious little wave of instinct. It is one of those animal moments that feels almost too ridiculous to be real, which of course makes it perfect internet material.
View this post on InstagramAnd the comments absolutely understood the assignment. One person wrote, “Love that their most successful feeding instinct as a species is ‘throw yourself around and maybe you’ll catch a nip.’” Honestly, that may be the funniest and most accurate explanation possible. It sounds chaotic because it is chaotic, but it is also effective, which is apparently all evolution really needed.
That is part of why this video works so well. It is cute, yes, but it is also oddly educational. You come for the bouncing bunny drama and leave knowing that these tiny popcorn babies are actually doing exactly what they are supposed to do. That is a great formula for a high-performing pet story, especially when the visual is this instantly replayable.
And really, who could resist it? Tiny heads popping up, little bodies bouncing around, dinner on the line. It is equal parts nursery and snack-fueled mosh pit.
Weird Baby Animal Behavior Is Often Totally NormalOne reason videos like this do so well is that they take something that looks alarming or bizarre and turn it into a small moment of understanding. In this case, the bunnies are not frightened; they are responding to feeding time the way newborn rabbits are designed to. The House Rabbit Society explains that baby rabbits have very specific nursing needs and behaviors, and learning even a little about them helps make these moments feel less mysterious and even more amazing.
Honestly, these little guys looked like someone buttered a bowl of marshmallows and told them milk was now a competitive sport.

Where does the Easter Bunny come from?Even though Easter is known as a Christian holiday, how did a fluffy little rabbit become one of its most famous figures? The history of the Easter Bunny and the Easter Bunny meaning in general is intersting. One tale is that the rabbit traces back to ancient pagan celebrations, long before Easter was celebrated in its modern form. These festivals, like the festival of Eostre honoring the goddess of fertility and spring, often featured bunnies as symbols of new life.
However, the Easter Bunny we know today didn’t hop over to the United States on its own—it was brought by German immigrants in the 1700s. They introduced the “Osterhase,” or egg-laying hare, a charming character that legend has it rewarded well-behaved children with colorful eggs. Kids would make little nests for the bunny’s gifts and sometimes even leave carrots as a snack. Over time, the tradition caught on across America, spreading joy and a little bit of whimsy.
Why does the Easter Bunny bring eggs? Easter eggs that the Easter Bunny brought. In real life, rabbits don't lay eggs. After all, they are mammals. So why does the Easter Bunny bring eggs each spring? The answer lies in a mix of Christian Easter symbolism and older, pre-Christian traditions.
You see, in Christianity, Easter eggs represent new life, celebrating Jesus’ resurrection and his emergence from the tomb. The idea of eggs as a symbol of spring and the tradition of decorating eggs for Easter is believed to date back to the 13th century. During that time, eggs were often forbidden to eat during Lent, so to mark the end of the fasting period, people would decorate eggs and enjoy them as part of the Easter feast, turning a simple treat into a joyful celebration of life.
Over time, this tradition merged with folklore, and the Easter Bunny—originally from German stories of an egg-laying hare—became the playful messenger delivering these colorful symbols of new life, joy and the arrival of spring.
What the Easter Bunny Looks Like NowToday, the Easter Bunny is the adorable, fluffy character we all recognize in modern Easter celebrations. With long ears, soft fur and a twitchy nose, the Easter Bunny often carries a basket filled with colorful Easter eggs, chocolates and other treats for children. This modern bunny is a beloved part of Easter traditions and holiday activities, appearing in decorations, parades and family celebrations. From Easter morning egg hunts to festive baskets, the Easter Bunny continues to bring a sense of springtime enchantment and wonder to the Easter holiday.

Is the Easter Bunny a Boy or a Girl? Here’s a question that’s puzzled curious minds for years: is the Easter Bunny a boy or a girl? The truth is, the Easter Bunny is a magical character, and magic doesn’t need a label! Over time, this cotton-tailed figure has appeared in all sorts of ways—sometimes with a bow tie, sometimes a cute dress—always bringing candy and colorful Easter eggs to children and families. Whether its a boy or girl, the Easter Bunny’s charm comes from hopping into hearts around the world, making every Easter morning extra special.
How the Easter Bunny Is Celebrated Around the WorldDo other countries acknowledge the Easter Bunny? Even though the Easter Bunny is the adorable mascot of the holiday in the United States, most other countries put their own spin on this springtime tradition! Though, in Japan, kids have adopted the American Easter Bunny.
However, in other ocuntries, like Switzerland, they have an Easter Cuckoo, while in Australia, it’s the Easter Bilby—a rare, rabbit-like marsupial—that delivers the eggs. Sweden celebrates with an Easter witch called Påskkäring, while in Russia, surprisingly, dogs are the ones who lay the Easter eggs and in parts of Germany, the Easter Fox or Easter Rooster are part of the holiday.
What Your Cat’s Greeting Style Reveals About Your Relationship
When it comes to pets, you may hear stories from dog moms and dads about how their canine greets them. However, you don't always hear ones about how cats react when their owners come home and walk through the door after being gone all day. While dogs are known for doing happy dances, wagging their tails, barking happily and getting zoomies, how cats welcome you back can be harder to spot. To help you pinpoint cat greeting styles and what they reveal about your bond, keep reading.
Cats have a variety of ways to greet their owners, and some of these can be subtle to catch. So, if your cat’s version of “hello" isn’t full of jumps and purrs, don’t worry—cats express love differently than dogs. Nonetheless, the way your cat chooses to say "hi," whether it’s a slow blink, a rub, or even a cautious retreat, can reveal a lot about your relationship. That's why you should pay attention to your cat’s body language and your cat's behaviors to help you decode what they’re trying to communicate.
By understanding these feline signals, you can see just how close your connection really is and learn expert tips on how you can make your cat feel safer and be more affectionate when you come home.

What Your Cat's Greeting Style Reveals A cat greeting its owner when they get home.Your cat's behavior, including how they welcome you back home or into a room, can say a lot about your human-cat bond. When you have a sense of your cat's feelings, you can lean into what's going well and/or work on ways to make your cat feel safer and happier. To help, Dr. Humm-Beatty shares what a cat's greeting style reveals about your bond.
1. They rub against you and purrCats have unique greeting styles so if your feline rubs, purrs, or kneads on you when you get home, it is a powerful way they communicate affection and trust. In fact, this is such a classic cat greeting. "When a cat is purring and kneading on you with their paws, this is a major sign of trust, safety and attachment," Dr. Humm-Beatty reveals.
These cat affectionate sign can extend beyond the initial "hello." In fact, cats that do this, may also settle beside you and doze off after you get home. "If your cat chooses to sleep on or near you, then this is a sign that they trust you as a safe, protective person," Dr. Humm-Beatty adds. "It shows how strong your bond is."
2. They run awayIf your cat greets you by running away the moment you walk through the door, you may immediately assume that your cat is not exactly your number one fan. But Dr. Humm-Beatty says that's not necessarily the case. "If your cat runs away from you it may be because they were startled by the noise or activity you and your family made entering your home, like by slamming the door. This may especially happen if your cat was sleeping or focused on an activity or task at that time," Dr. Humm-Beatty expalins.
If you have a quieter entrance, it might help your cat stop running away when you come home. However, if it doesn't, it may be a sign your cat isn't quite comfortable yet, which Dr. Humm-Beatty says is especially common with newer feline family members. "If your cat was poorly socialized as a kitten or has recently joined your home and family, it would be pretty normal for them to run away from you or kids and dogs," Dr. Humm-Beatty adds.
3. They bring you "gifts"If you come home to your cat bearing gifts, this cat greeting behavior is very sweet and how some cats show they love you. So, this type of cat welcome reveals you and your cat have a special bond. Overall, it's a compliment and sign your cat likes you and is glad you are back. "Cats will often bring their owner a 'gift,' ranging from a toy, a rodent or a bird," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. "Cats have a natural hunting instinct and will often bring you their prey because you are part of their family. It can be a sign of affection and trust."
Related: Pet Behaviorists Reveal 7 Sweet Signs Your Cat Secretly Admires You
4. They follow youIn some cases, your cat won't just meet you at the door when you first come home, but they may stretch their greeting out and respond to you returning by following you from room to room. Dr. Humm-Beatty shares that this feline behavior usually isn't clinginess, but a sign of a profound human-cat connection. "When your cat follows you around your home, it is choosing you as its safe person," Dr. Humm-Beatty states. "This is similar to a mother-kitten bond, where the core comfort for your cat is proximity to you."
5. They blink at youWhile some examples of how a cat welcomes you home are easy to see, some are subtle and easy to miss. For instance, if your cat blinks, this greeting style isn't a big, bold dog-like welcome home. Yet, it's actually just as loving. "If a cat slow blinks at you, it shows that it feels safe," Dr. Humm-Beatty says. "Evolutionarily, when cats use slow eye movements, it shows that the cat is passive and not intending to fight. Research shows that owners can communicate with their cats by slow blinking back at them."
Now that you know what your cat's greeting style reveals about your bond, go ahead and pay it forward by slow-blinking back. Dr. Humm-Beatty says it's a way that pet parents can communicate with their cats—in such a loving way!
6. They ignore youWhat does it mean if your cat ignores you? "If your cat ignores you, they are not showing dislike toward you," says Dr. Hilary Humm-Beatty. "Rather, this cat behavior is more likely because they are overstimulated or busy with another task or game. Cats are somewhat more independent than dogs and often appreciate their alone time, and it is not an insult."

Poodle Mix Looks Like She Just Left the Club and Has to Work at 8 AM
Most puppers wake up looking fresh, alert, ready to greet the day… and then there is this Poodle mix, who looks like she accidentally lived an entire scandalous life between midnight and sunrise and now has to clock in against her will. The energy is immediate. The hair is doing something deeply concerning. The outfit is not helping.
In the clip, she is wearing a tiny tank top covered in little popsicles, which should be adorable, but paired with her completely unhinged hair and slightly dazed expression, it turns into something else entirely. She looks hungover. She looks like she made questionable choices. She looks like she just woke up, forgot where she was, and now has responsibilities. This dog is me in my early 20s.
@tinaaturn1#tina #ditl #meme #trending #dog
♬ Horror (beginning of fear)(822506) - みみさらいTikTok user @tinaaturn1 shared the hilarious video, and people in the comments had thoughts. Not only about this Poodle mix's epic hairdo, but also about her sleeveless T-shirt.
One person said, "Just happy to look like a mess." That seems pretty accurate.
Related: Papillon With Major Static Cling Is Giving Full Porcupine Energy
“The sleeveless shirt is killing me,” one person wrote, and yes. That is a big part of the problem. It makes this feel way too real.
“So much personality in such a tiny body,” another added, which is the nicest possible way to say she looks like she has stories she is not ready to share.
“Work cooked my girl! She just tryna enjoy her day off!” someone said, and honestly, I support her. She deserves rest. She has clearly been through something.
Then there was, “Me debating staying in bed and losing my job,” which feels a little too relatable for a dog video.
“She’s seen some things,” another commenter wrote, and I would like to respectfully not know what those things were.
“Did she go out last night?” someone asked, which… yes. Emotionally, yes.
And finally: “After that random nap. Wake up hot, thirsty, and confused.” That is exactly it. That is the entire vibe. No notes.
I keep thinking about how Meatball, my Maine Coon, would look if I put him in a tank top and woke him up mid-nap. Actually, no, I know exactly how that would go. He would simply fall over and refuse to participate. This dog, meanwhile, showed up looking like she had an 8 AM meeting and absolutely no time to emotionally recover. She needs some Tylenol and 7 Brew, stat.
Why Do Dogs Sometimes Look So Disheveled? Messy-looking, long-haired dog.Image Via: Jucadima/Shutterstock

Dogs can look disheveled for a few different reasons, and most of them are a lot less dramatic than whatever storyline this Poodle mix has going on. For breeds like Poodle mixes, their hair texture plays a big role. Their coats can get messy, fluffy, or uneven very quickly, especially after sleeping, rolling around, or just existing for 5 minutes.
Sleep is a big one. Dogs often wake up looking a little wild because their fur gets pressed, flipped, or flattened in strange ways, just like human bedhead, but somehow more chaotic. Add in a soft surface like a blanket or couch, and you can get some truly impressive results.
Humidity, static, and general activity also contribute. Running, playing, or even just shifting positions can make their coat look like it is doing its own independent thing. And if they are between grooming sessions, that “I just woke up like this” look can stick around a little longer than expected.
So while it might look like this dog just left a club at 3 AM, the reality is usually much simpler. But honestly, I choose to believe she had a long night, made questionable choices, and is now bravely facing the consequences.

Cat Legit Looks Just Like a Rotisserie Chicken and We Can't Unsee It
If there's one thing I know, it's that cats have an uncanny talent for one-upping themselves day after day. Just when you think they can't get any cuter, funnier, sillier, or more chaotic, they do something new at max effort.
In case your feline hasn't done anything impressive yet today, a cat named Leo has you covered. This little guy has a way of lounging around the house that makes him look eerily like a rotisserie chicken, so "feast" your eyes on this video!

Kitties who loaf are basically saying, "I feel safe enough to let my guard down... slightly!" Take it as a compliment and be sure to break out your phone and capture them from the top. I'll bet your furry companion looks like a rotisserie chicken, too!
