Sun, 02/22/2026 - 8:30am

Bobby Flay and Brooke Williamson are continuing to ride the wave of their relationship, showing a little bit of PDA while they're at it.

Williamson, who took to Instagram on Saturday with a carousel of loved-up pics of she and Flay, showed the two enjoying their time together in Miami, which included a photo of the two sharing a kiss.

And of course, fans and friends were here for it.

"I absolutely love seeing you and Bobby together!" one wrote. "You make a perfect couple!"

"The best couple!! Loved seeing you!" added another.

"Truly the relationship we never knew we needed," a third said, while another called out the pic where the two were sharing a smooch.

"Last one, best one," they wrote.

Additionally, fellow chef and Top Chefhost, Kristin Kish, chimed in, noting how Williamson was beaming.

"Gorge and happy," she wrote. "Love to see it."

The couple, who have been dating since March, have regularly documented their relationship and even spoke openly about how Flay gave Williamson a ring despite not having plans to marry.

During a recent episode of Flay's podcast "Bobby on Beat," she admitted that the gesture was “a little bit confusing in the moment.”

However, the two refer to each other as "romantic partners" and have also previously discussed engagement rumors and how they don't see themselves tying the knot.

“Only we know what we have, so that’s the most important thing,” she said. “You open my eyes to other new things every single day, I’m never going to run out of things to talk to you about.”

Flay also shared that he felt there was an instant connection between the two when they met.

“It just seemed like the more time that we spent together things were starting to feel a little bit different between us, which for me personally it’s the first time that that’s happened,” he said at the time. “I got to know you as a friend first and foremost and then it sort of very slowly started to develop into some other thing, and then at some point we looked at each other we were like, ‘Alright.'”

On This Day in 1975, a Rare Instrumental Rocked the Billboard Hot 100

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 8:29am

Feb. 22, 1975, marked a milestone in music history: an instrumental track reached the top of the Billboard Hot 100, a feat achieved by only 25 songs ever. Its catchy groove and iconic rhythm captured audiences nationwide, leaving a lasting imprint on pop and funk music that still resonates today.

The song, "Pick Up the Pieces," was featured on the band's album AWB, which was released in the U.S. in October 1974. The band, made up of Hamish Stuart, Alan Gorrie, Onnie McIntyre, Roger Ball, Robbie McIntosh, and Malcolm Duncan, was heavily inspired by James Brown.

In 2017, Duncan told The Guardian that he wasn't really sure about "Pick Up the Pieces" being released as a single.

"I argued with them about putting it out as a single. 'You’re completely mad,' I said. 'It’s a funk instrumental played by Scotsmen with no lyrics other than a shout.' But that might be why it was a hit, and then became a standard – because it was different. That 'Pick up the pieces' shout just fitted: it’s about picking yourself up when things aren’t going well. We’d spent a lot of time making no money whatsoever, so it felt very relevant. And then everything took off," he said.

"Pick Up the Pieces" took the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 from Linda Ronstadt, who held the honor the week prior for her song, "You're No Good."

Two years before they found themselves atop the Billboard Hot 100, the Scottish funk and R&B group got their big break as the opening act on Eric Clapton’s tour.

Interview With Eric Dane, Jensen Ackles Has Fans In Tears Following Dane's Passing

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 8:27am

Grey's Anatomy star Eric Danepassed away at age 53 on February 19, and now, an old interview between Countdown co-stars Dane and Jensen Ackleshas left fans heartbroken and in tears.

The video, shared by One Take News on Instagram and TikTok, shows Ackles and Dane describing their work with one another, both full of compliments.

Of Ackles, Dane said, "Jensen's a terrific example of a human being, and I love him dearly, but what I admire most about him is his work ethic. He is a machine. He is as consistent as it gets, and the continuity of his performance throughout all 13 episodes is pretty remarkable."

Ackles responded in kind, saying of Dane, "There's a lot that I can say, but one of the things is the way that he leads quietly. I think a lot of people feel like they have to be boisterous, and they have to be loud, and they have to kind of dictate more of a leadership quality, but he has just this beautiful, quiet way of setting a great tone and setting a great example of how to be a pro."

"You know, I was definitely taking notes from just the way he handles himself on set or the way he handles himself off set. When the cameras are rolling, when they're not rolling, there was just this beautiful leadership quality to him that was quiet that everybody noticed and picked up on. And I think it really benefitted the show in a way that you don't get from a lot of people," Ackles continued.

View this post on Instagram

The comments are flooded with love but also heartbreak from fans. One comment reads, "...These two were brilliant on this show. Rest in Peace Eric 😢. Gone far too early, my heart is broken." Another says, "🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍🤍 more and more I’m seeing these clips of those who knew him, more emotional I’m getting listening to how a great human being he was 😔 😢💔💔💔💔."

One comment also highlights the finality of this interview, saying, "Two of my favourites in one frame...for one last time 😢," and many other comments are simply red hearts, tearful emojis or broken heart emojis.

Ackles also recently posted his own tribute to Eric Dane, which likewise led to many messages of love and support.

Dennis Quaid Reveals If He’d Compete on ‘DWTS’ After Supporting Elaine Hendrix (Exclusive)

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 8:26am

Dennis Quaid is no stranger to the spotlight, but would he trade the big screen for the ballroom?

While promoting I Can Only Imagine 2, the actor addressed the question everyone has been asking after he was spotted supporting his former Parent Trap co-star Elaine Hendrix during her run on Dancing With the Stars season 34.

Star Dennis Quaid and DIrector Andrew Erwin talk 'I Can Only Imagine 2' (5:31)

Hendrix finished in fifth place alongside pro partner Alan Bersten, and Quaid proudly cheered her on from the audience.

In addition to Quaid’s appearance, their Parent Trap co-star Lisa Ann Walter was also a frequent presence in the ballroom throughout the season. Walter, who is close friends with Hendrix, even joined Hendrix and Bersten on the dance floor during week 5’s "Dedication Night" episode in a surprise moment that delighted fans.

“I was glad to be there. It was good. I'm really proud of her. She came in fifth,” Quaid told Parade at the I Can Only Imagine 2 junket.

But would he ever step onto the dance floor himself?

“I've been asked that and asked that and asked that,” Quaid admitted. "Baby steps, baby steps. We'll see. I don't know. We'll see.”

Director Andrew Erwin chimed in during the interview, saying, “I would watch that.”

As for whether he has any dance experience, Quaid joked, “Uh, only in the movies.”

He added confidently, “I'd get there, it's like anything else, you work on it non-stop.”

When asked which song he’d choose if he did compete, Quaid tossed out an unexpected option: “Uh, I don't know, 1999?”, the 1982 smash hit by Prince.

Quaid and Hendrix famously starred together in the 1998 remake of The Parent Trap alongside Lindsay Lohan and the late Natasha Richardson. Nearly 30 years later, the film remains one of his most beloved projects.

“It's the number one [thing people approach me about]. It really is. It's the number one, and they're not bugging me. Thank God for Parent Trap. Really, it's got so many people. I think we're going, since we made it, now we have like three generations of kids who saw it 40 times,” he said.

So is a Quaid ballroom debut on the horizon? It sounds like nothing is set in stone, but he’s not ruling it out either.

43 Years Ago Today, a Broadway Show Flopped So Hard It Closed on Opening Night

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 8:23am

43 years ago today, a Broadway play in New York City made history as it opened—and closed—on the same night. On Feb. 22, 1983, the production of Moose Murders opened its doors for the first public performance of the mystery comedy show, hoping for a positive reception. Unfortunately, it was anything but.

Moose Murders was a show written by Arthur Bicknell and performed at the Eugene O'Neill Theatre in NYC. The story follows the Holloway family as they venture to a property they recently purchased called the "Wild Moose Lodge" in the Adirondack Mountains.

Of course, once they get there, they get snowed in with a bunch of unique characters and decide to make the most of it, playing a murder mystery game. As you might be able to guess, things don't go as planned, and a few murders and other unfortunate incidents occur throughout the night.

But Moose Murders faced issues even before opening night. As reported by The New York Times, the original star of the show was Eve Arden, but she pulled out shortly after preview performances started at the beginning of February 1983.

A spokesperson for the play claimed it was because of "artistic differences." According to Playbill, it was actually because Arden had "a little problem with remembering lines, executing blocking, and apparently keeping track of the plot."

Actress Holland Taylor stepped in with a week to prepare and took over Arden's role. Reflecting on the experience working on the play in 2008, Taylor told The New York Times, "There were things that I put my foot down about and changed. But there were things I couldn’t change. Like the play."

Taylor has gone on to have an impressive acting career, earning an Emmy in 1999 for her performance in The Practice, while she has been nominated eight more times since then. Other members of the Moose Murders cast included June Gable, known for playing Estelle in Friends, as well as Don Potter, Jack Dabdoub, Lisa McMillan, and more.

It's safe to say that the play wasn't well-received by critics and audiences. Critic Frank Rich wrote in his review for The New York Times, "Those of us who have witnessed the play that opened at the Eugene O'Neill Theater last night will undoubtedly hold periodic reunions, in the noble tradition of survivors of the Titanic."

"A visit to Moose Murders is what will separate the connoisseurs of Broadway disaster from mere dilettantes for many moons to come," he added.

The performance of Moose Murders on Feb. 22 ended up being its only official performance, as it ended its run on the same night.

Natalie Merchant's haunting voice with her band, 10,000 Maniacs, will go down in history. And in 2026, the talented singer is still making history.

Merchant, 62, who joined 10,000 Maniacs in 1981, shot to fame as the band's lead singer and lyricist. In 1993, she left the band at the height of their fame and launched a lauded solo career. Her debut solo album, Tigerlily, was a critical and commercial success with hits like "Carnival," "Wonder," and "Jealousy." These days, Merchant is still thriving and has pursued unique creative endeavors that range from releasing more albums to teaching arts and crafts to underprivileged children in New York state.

The beloved performer hit the stage on Friday evening during "Sooner Or Later: Celebrating The 60th Anniversary Of Blonde On Blonde," at Cain's Ballroom in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The event, which honored Bob Dylan's classic album, also featured Craig Finn of The Hold Steady, The Cactus Blossoms, and a variety of other performers. Merchant, with her distinctive voice, dazzled the crowds. With her long dark hair replaced by a head of lush gray locks, the legendary singer is aging with grace and looking better than ever.

Called Cabinet of Wonder, it's a multimedia public arts experience designed especially for young children and is available for free online. For more information about Cabinet of Wonder, click here.

Merchant is an Empty Nester

A single mom, Merchant and her daughter rode out the COVID lockdown together. While she grew up without a TV, her daughter wasn't having it.

"Well, my daughter staged a protest about eight months into the lockdown, and we went out and bought a Roku," Merchant told Paste in 2023. "I felt like an Amish woman buying a Monster Truck—it was very difficult for me. Because I’ve had no television in my house since 1974. And I’m looking at it right now—I still can’t even believe that it’s here! And I won’t watch it for weeks, but then every once in a while…"

Her daughter has since headed off to college, allowing Merchant to resume touring. She completed a tour this past fall.

The 'Secret' Disney Gift Card Hack That Can Save You Hundreds on Your Next Vacation

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 8:03am

Planning a Disney vacation often feels like a master-class in budgeting, but as the experts at Disney Food Blog recently shared, frequent park-goers have a specific retail trick to shave hundreds of dollars off the total cost before they even pack a suitcase.

The strategy begins at retailers like Target, where members can use a Target Circle Card to receive an automatic 5% discount on Disney gift card purchases.

While a $25 savings on a $500 card might seem modest at first, applying that 5% discount to an entire vacation—including resort stays, park tickets, and dining—can result in significant savings that typical hotel discounts don't cover.

As a recent Disney Food Blog video noted, applying this hack to a $5,000 vacation results in $250 in savings. That extra cash could easily go toward a cool character experience, plenty of snacks and treats, or some extra fun merch for the family.

The real "secret" to managing this hack without carrying a wallet full of plastic is utilizing the official Disney Gift Card website.

By creating an account, travelers can track their balances and, more importantly, consolidate multiple small cards onto one primary card.

This tool allows users to transfer balances up to a maximum of $1,000 per card, making it much easier to pay off large invoices or manage mobile food orders within the My Disney Experience app.

Beyond just park souvenirs, these discounted cards are incredibly versatile and can be used for almost any Disney-owned expense, from Disney Cruise Line payments to dinner at Disney Springs.

By purchasing these cards incrementally in the months leading up to a trip, savvy travelers can effectively "lock in" a 5% discount on their entire vacation budget while spreading out the out-of-pocket costs.

But she also wouldn't be opposed to an Olympic athlete.

"I think somebody from the Olympics would be iconic this next season," she added. "I'd love to dance with Ilia [Malinin], he has a great story and I think he's so talented."

Also on her list? An NFL player.

"It sucks because the ones that are actually playing are in season at the time so I'd love to have a recently retired one," she said, mentioning Jason Kelce.

"I've had him on the top of my list for a while as well," she added. "I think his personality would be so much fun and I think he'd be low key so good, he would be that person that just picks it up."

Johnson talking about potential partners comes days after he husband, Valentin Chmerkovskiy, shared that he also has a dream celebrity partner of his own.

"I love an unexpected person," Johnson continued. "Joey [Graziadei] I feel like was unexpected. Everyone thought he was going to be boring and not good [with] two left feet, and then every week he just kept getting better."

Chatting about this past season where she was partnered with Corey Feldman, while the two didn't make it to the finals, Johnson's abs became the highlight.

"It's so funny I don't know how it happened, it's been super funny and super sweet of everybody to comment on my abs, I guess," she said. "I think I just am a really disciplined, consistent person. I haven't always had abs like this and so it is a lot of hard work there's not one thing I did that all the sudden they magically appeared but it's like years of discipline and saying no to certain things."

"Its so wild that my abs were memes and going viral that was not on my bingo card for this year at all," she added.

Savannah Guthrie's Mom: Sheriff's Latest Update on 'Mixed Samples' of DNA Infuriates the Internet

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 7:48am

The Pima County Sheriff's Department is facing renewed scrutiny after revealing that DNA evidence in the Nancy Guthrie case contains “mixed samples” requiring further analysis—a process investigators say could take months. The development has sparked intense online reaction and raised fresh questions about what happened in the critical early hours of her disappearance.

Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that she may have been abducted from her home in the Catalina Foothills (just north of Tucson, Arizona) in the middle of the night.

Related: Savannah Guthrie’s Mom: Sheriff’s Office Inconsistencies Raise Timeline Questions

Upon entering Guthrie's home, which was called a "crime scene" very early on in the investigation, authorities collected DNA samples which were sent off to a lab in Florida for review. Now, weeks later, the public has learned that the DNA were "mixed" which, according to Fox News, means that there was more than one person's DNA mixed together.

The outlet reports that Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos shared an update on those samples, which could be key in identifying the person or persons behind Guthrie's disappearance.

"Our lab tells us that there are challenges with it. The technology is moving so fast and in such a frenzy that they think some of this stuff will resolve itself just in a matter of weeks, months, or maybe a year," Nanos said.

This update has infuriated social media users, many of whom have been following the case for weeks.

Related: Savannah Guthrie’s Mom: Sheriff Shares Major Update — But Questions Remain

"@FBI needs to go to FLORIDA Lab and GET THAT SAMPLE AND HAND IT OFF TO THEIR LAB!! STOP THE MADNESS!" one person wrote on X after hearing the news.

"I understand that labs are backlogged and that prioritization & processing comes into play. However, there are urgent & high priority cases that can be fast tracked. I'd say this case qualifies as time sensitive. What are the chances that Nanos has done this?" someone else wondered.

Meanwhile, Nanos recently spoke with NBC News and he's not giving up.

"We’re not quitting. We’ll find her," he said.

As of Sunday, Feb. 22, Guthrie has been missing for three full weeks. Authorities have not named a suspect or person or persons of interest in the case, no arrests have been made, and there's no positive lead on where Guthrie might be.

1976 No. 1 Movie’s Most Famous Scene Was Totally Unscripted—And Filmed Without a Permit

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 7:42am

In 1976, Rocky was the top movie of the year. Starring Sylvester Stallone, Burgess Meredith, Burt Young, Carl Weathers, andTalia Shire, the film about scrappy Philadelphia boxer Rocky Balboa (Stallone) raked in a box office total of  $225 million globally, and became the highest-grossing film of 1976, per The Numbers.

Rocky, which won Academy Awards for Best Picture, Best Editing, and Best Director, was made on a small $1 million budget—and it made newcomer Stallone a star.

One of the most famous scenes in Rocky is a training montage in which the beloved boxer runs through the streets of Philadelphia in preparation for his upcoming boxing match with Apollo Creed (Weathers). The famous scene culminates with Balboa bounding up the 72 steps to the  Philadelphia Museum of Art as the movie’s theme song,  Bill Conti’s “Gonna Fly Now,” plays.

But the scene wasn’t originally planned as it was shown. During a 2025 appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Stallone, 79, admitted he hadn’t even thought about shooting a scene at the Philly landmark and didn’t have a location permit.

"When I got to Philadelphia and did the movie Rocky, I wasn't even thinking about the steps. We didn't have any money to shoot there. We didn't have the license," he told host Jimmy Fallon. "I just got out of the car, I said, 'Let me just run up the steps, get a shot of it, and we'll get out of here before the police come.' "

Stallone noted that his real-life dog, Butkus, who appeared in the film, was almost in the scene. “The first take, I said, 'Let me carry my dog up the steps,’” Stallone recalled. “My dog is a buffalo; it's a 130 lb. bull mastiff. I get halfway up, my knees buckle. We're like, 'Dog, out. Back in the car, pal.'"

"Anyway, we did it, and it became a very famous scene,” the actor added.

Sylvester Stallone was always 'fascinated' by steps

Stallone talked about the significance of the art museum steps scene in a 2021 interview posted by The Philadelphia Inquirer on YouTube.

“Ever since I was 10 years old, I’ve always been fascinated with steps,” the actor admitted. “I felt like you could see the whole world from up there, which basically you're seeing your own future. It's like look, this is what I have to survive and surpass to make a life. The symbolism on those steps …it's like unbelievable; it's like it's almost a pathway to your life. So that has always been an incredibly monumental image in my eyes. Plus it's so filled with challenges and symbolism, so people come, they're not running the Rocky steps, they're running like the steps of their life. Like, this is. If he can do it, I can do it.’”

Fifty years after the first Rocky film—there would be five sequels and three Creed spinoffs—the art museum steps remain a major tourist attraction in Philadelphia.

Per the Visit Philly website, thousands of fans annually recreate the famous scene as they make the trek up the 72 “Rocky Steps” steps leading to the art museum entrance. Stallone also donated a bronze Rocky statue, which was created in 1980 by artist A. Thomas Schomberg for a scene in Rocky III, to the City of Philadelphia.

125 Weird Baby Names for Parents Who Think Outside the Box

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 7:40am

There's a sense of responsibility that should go into choosing a child's name. People aren't the same as pets, and your baby boy probably can't necessarily pull off the name Pickles the same way a dachshund can. But it's also understandable that some parents want their child to have a unique enough name that they're not one of 12 Olivers or Emmas in their class. But unique can pretty quickly blend into strange, and there are many weird baby names that are actually more popular than you'd think.

It's long been a thing for celebrities to choose outlandish names for their children, but Social Security Administration (SSA) data reveals that uncommon baby names are the norm for many everyday parents as well. So if you have one of these so-called "weird" names or you're leaning towards giving one to your baby boy or girl, you're certainly not alone.

These names are unusual but pretty cute—and though they may not be everybody's cup of tea, that's what makes baby names such an interesting concept. Some families want traditional monikers that honor their lineage and loved ones, and others want their children to stand out as unique individuals.

So here are 125 weird girl and boy names for those parents who like to think outside the box. And according to research from Ancestry, Nameberry, and A Dictionary of First Names, they all carry pretty unique meanings as well.

A Country Legend’s Second No. 1 Hit Topped the Charts 23 Years Ago

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 7:13am

Country star Blake Shelton has an impressive repertoire of acclaimed music in 2026, which isn't a surprise after decades in the industry. But back in the early 2000s, the singer was just starting out, and he finally achieved his second Billboard Hot Country Songs No. 1 hit on Feb. 22, 2003.

The exciting milestone happened when his song "The Baby" nabbed the top spot on the premiere country music chart, holding the position for three weeks. "The Baby" is an emotional song about a boy growing up as "the baby" of the family, or the youngest sibling, and his relationship with his mother as he got older.

The track was originally released on Oct. 28, 2002, as the lead single on his second studio album, The Dreamer, and it slowly grew in popularity over the next few months.

Other singles off the album included "Heavy Liftin'" and "Playboys of the Southwestern World." The full album was released on Feb. 4, 2003.

Along with the impressive chart performance of the lead single, the album also did quite well, reaching the second spot on Billboard's Top Country Albums chart and peaking at the eighth position on the Billboard 200 chart.

Before "The Baby," Shelton achieved his first Hot Country Songs chart No. 1 with the first single of his whole career, "Austin." The song was released on April 16, 2001, and it became a No. 1 hit on Aug. 11, 2001, where it stayed for five weeks.

"Austin" was the lead single on his self-titled debut album, which came out on July 31, 2001. The song even did well on overall music charts, peaking at No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

To date, Shelton has 14 No. 1 hits on the Hot Country Songs chart, with the latest song to reach this achievement, "God's Country" in 2019. He has also continued to do well on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, although Shelton hasn't achieved a No. 1 there yet.

His highest-ranking songs are both collaborations, with "Boys 'Round Here" featuring Pistol Annies & Friends and "Pour Me A Drink" by Post Malone featuring Shelton reaching the 12th spot in 2013 and 2024, respectively.

The 10 Best Keto Snacks at Costco, According to Dietitians

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 7:05am

Peruse the aisles at Costco, and you're likely to see tons of items labeled "keto-friendly." That may be a relief if you've been instructed to follow a keto diet and don't want to remove "delicious" from the menu, but what are the best keto snacks at Costco you should try first?

Let's back up for a second, though, because keto has gone mainstream and gotten misconstrued along the way.

"A ketogenic diet is a very low-carbohydrate, moderate-protein, high-fat eating pattern designed to shift the body into using fat and the ketones it produces, as its main fuel source," Dr. Chris Mohr, Ph.D., RD, a fitness and nutrition advisor at Garage Gym Reviews, tells Parade. "By keeping total carbs low—around 20–50 grams per day—the body enters a state that is called ketosis."

Importantly, keto is not a fad diet or for everyone.

"But it can be helpful in specific situations," says Lauren Manaker, MS, RDN, LD, a registered dietitian and co-author of Keto for Fertility. "For example, those managing epilepsy may notice a reduction in seizure frequency, depending on the individual, when following a keto diet. The keto diet should be followed under the guidance of a healthcare professional when trying to manage epilepsy, especially among children."

It's also commonly billed as a weight loss tool or supportive of people with Type 2 diabetes, but Manaker stresses results may vary, and it's vital to talk to your care team to monitor for dangerously low blood sugar. If you are someone who benefits from keto and has a supportive and attuned care team, you'll probably hear that snacking is on the table.

"Snacking on a keto diet can help you stay on track and avoid feeling overly hungry, which might lead to reaching for non-keto-friendly foods," Manaker shares. "Snacking can also help bridge some nutrient gaps, since some nutrient-dense foods, like nuts, tend to be eaten more as a snack vs. with a meal."

What you eat matters, and Costco is a treasure trove of keto snacks. Which ones do RDs suggest adding to your cart? Below, dietitians reveal their thoughts on the best keto snacks at Costco and tips for finding your go-to.

4 Tips for Finding Keto Snacks at Costco

We get it. Shopping at Costco is. a vibe. An experience. But if you're on a keto diet, it's also a mission to find grub that meets your needs and tastes great, too. Keep these RD-approved tips in mind when searching for the best keto snacks at Costco.

1. Beware “keto-labeled” sweets that don’t meet macros

Don't party when you see a label for a yummy-looking, Reddit-loved Costco snack that says "keto" on the front until you read the back.

"Some candy or snack bars may be labeled 'keto' but still have too many carbs or sugar alcohols that affect ketosis," Dr. Mohr shares.

2. Check net carbs

Manaker says the first thing you'll want to do when shopping for keto snacks at Costco is flip the label over and check the net carbs.

"Net carbs are calculated by subtracting fiber and sugar alcohols from the total carbs," she explains. "To stay in ketosis, generally, people should aim for snacks with 5 grams of net carbs or less per serving—but this number can vary based on the individual."

3. Value overall nutrition

Manaker says that fat and low carbs are the start, not the end game, for keto snacking. Balance is best.

"You don’t want to fill up on empty calories," she warns. "Aim for snacks that include important vitamins, minerals or fiber to support overall health."

4. Prioritize healthy fats

Monounsaturated fats (such as those in salmon) have a nutritional leg up on saturated fats, which can contribute to health issues, like cardiovascular disease. "Aim to minimize saturated fat intake to 10% or less of total calories per day," shares Lauren Harris-Pincus, MS, RDN, the founder of NutritionStarringYOU.com and author of The Everything Easy Pre-Diabetes Cookbook. "Snacks higher in saturated fat should be eaten sparingly and on days where meals are lighter on beef and cheese, and higher in lean poultry, pork and seafood."

10 Best Keto Snacks at Costco, According to Dietitians1. Catalina Crunch Protein Cereal, Cinnamon Toast

Costco

Your favorite childhood breakfast gets a keto upgrade (with protein!). Catalina Crunch was founded by Krishna Catalina, who lives with Type 1 diabetes and wanted to create foods low in sugar and high in protein, fiber and flavor.

"This is sold as a cereal, but it makes for a great sweet snack, too," Manaker says. "With 5 grams of net carbs, 0 grams of sugar and 11 grams of protein, it is a great option for a sweet tooth that is also craving some crunch."

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 5 grams, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 5 grams (0.5 grams saturated)

2. Kiss My Keto Gummies

Costco

Fans love the sweet peach, apple and strawberry flavors and gummy texture of this treat. Dr. Mohr loves that the Kiss My Keto Gummies were genuinely designed with the needs of people following the diet in mind.

"These are formulated specifically for keto, using sugar alcohols and fiber to keep net carbs low," Dr. Mohr says. "They work because net carbs are typically around 2 to 3 grams per serving, which fits most keto targets."

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 2 grams, Added sugar: 2 grams, Fat: 0 grams (0 grams saturated)

3. Kirkland Signature Extra Fancy Mixed Nuts

Costco

Nuts are often billed as a boon for keto followers, but Dr. Mohr shares they're more like a mixed bag. "Nuts are keto-compatible in small portions, but mixed nuts vary widely in carb content," he shares.

He goes on to explain that Kirkland salted mixed nuts do meet keto standards, though, because the fat content is high (16 grams per ounce serving, with only 2 grams of saturated fat) and the sugar content is low (1 gram). Five grams of protein don't hurt.

Quick caveat, though. "They could be a problem because cashews and pistachios raise net carbs," he notes. "Stick to about 1 ounce per serving, roughly a small handful, to stay keto-friendly."

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 3.5 grams, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 16 grams (2 grams saturated)

4. Country Archer Grass-Fed Beef Stick Minis Original

Costco

Dr. Mohr has no beef with these stick minis, which have no net carbs. "These are very keto-friendly as they are high protein, have minimal carbs and no added sugar," he says. "They help stabilize blood sugar and support fullness. Be careful, as sodium can add up, but pairing with fat, like nuts and cheese, can improve satiety."

One stick has 200 milligrams of sodium, or about 6% of your daily value, so you might want to opt for an unsalted nut pairing.

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 0 grams, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 3 grams (1.5 grams saturated)

5. BelGioioso Fresh Mozzarella Snacking Cheese

Costco

With less than 1 gram of carbs and 5 grams of fat (3.5 of which are saturated fat), this classic cheese is in the keto zone. Plus, mozzarella cheese is lower in sodium than many cheeses.

Manaker says the BelGioioso snacking mozzarella that is available at Costco has a few other things working in its favor.

"These pre-portioned mozzarella cheese pearls are delicious and pair well with so many other foods," she shares. "They give a boost of [5 grams of] protein as well as some calcium to support bone health."

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: Less than 1 gram, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 5 grams (3.5 grams saturated)

6. Kirkland Signature Organic Roasted Seaweed Snack

Costco

This seaweed is (essentially) always green(lit) by Harris-Pincus when counseling patients on a keto diet.

"Seaweed snacks are a fantastic addition to any diet, especially a keto diet, due to their low-calorie and carb content," she says. "A whole tray provides 100 calories, zero carbs and essential minerals like iodine, iron, magnesium and calcium, along with vitamins A, C and K."

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: Less than 1 gram, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 2 grams (0 grams saturated)

7. Kirkland Signature Dry Roasted Macadamia Nuts

Costco

Harris-Pincus cheers when people following the keto diet snack on a handful of nuts. She especially loves the slightly sweet, ever-so-crunchy macadamia nuts.

"With the macadamias, the fat is mostly unsaturated, and they are low in sodium," she notes, also highlighting that these Kirkland-brand macadamia nuts have only 4 grams of total carbs and 2 grams of fiber.

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 1 gram, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 21 grams (3.5 grams saturated)

8. Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter

Costco

Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter is a great fit for people following a keto diet (and it's allergy-friendlier, for all you educators and folks who work around kids and can't brown bag peanut butter for lunch).

"What’s important about the Kirkland Signature Creamy Almond Butter is that the ingredient is 100% roasted almonds, which matters for a keto diet because there is no added sugar," explains Kathleen Benson, CSSD, CPT, RDN, a registered dietitian at VNutrition. "It’s primarily fat with some protein."

That said, Benson doesn't want keto diet followers to feel they have a license to go nuts spreading this almond butter all over everything in large portions.

"Be mindful of the carbohydrates, though, as 2 tablespoons of 100% roasted almonds do provide 7 grams of carbs, so keep that in mind if you are strictly following keto guidelines," she advises.

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 4.5 grams, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 17 grams (1.5 grams saturated)

9. Wholly Organic Smashed Avocado

Costco

Rejoice, avocados are on the table for a game day, brunch on Sunday or any day, even if you're on the keto diet. You can buy whole avocados and smash them yourself, of course, but this 16-pack of Wholly Organic Smashed Avocado spread from Costco is handy to have around. The 2-ounce containers mean that you're always avocado-ready and help prevent you from wasting avocados, which can happen when you cut one open and then stash the leftovers in the fridge.

"Wholly Avocado guacamole cups are a great addition to the keto diet," Benson says. "Not only do they provide 3 grams of fiber, but they also provide a great source of healthy, anti-inflammatory fats.

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 2 grams, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 11 grams (2 grams saturated)

10. Chomps Jalapeno Grass Fed Beef Sticks

Costco

Yes, we're back with more grass-fed beef sticks. These keto-friendly snacks have a spicy kick thanks to a hint of jalapeño. They're also from the fan-favorite brand Chomps, which is known for its short ingredient list and colorful packaging.

"These grass-fed and finished beef sticks contain zero carbs and 10 grams of protein for 100 calories," Harris-Pincus reveals. "With 3 grams of saturated fat, it can fit nicely into a diet with other protein sources that are lower in saturated fats."

Nutrition per serving: Net carbs: 0 grams, Added sugar: 0 grams, Fat: 7 grams (3 grams saturated)

"I'm going to need a mini fridge just to keep up with these 😂," a third joked, as a fourth immediately turned their attention to "The bloom one," which is a limited-edition, summer-themed flavor inspired by the nostalgic red, white, and blue ice pop.

Meanwhile, the iced tea had someone else intrigued, as they dropped, "Snapple Raspberry Lemonade 😮."

This Is the Ultimate 80-Degree-and-Sunny Winter Escape—And It’s Not Florida

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 7:02am

Winter travel is often reserved for warm, beachy places like Florida, Charleston or even the Caribbean. In fact, the desert probably doesn't even cross your mind. However, one of the best weekend getaways this winter isn't in the Southeast, or on an ocean at all. The best weekend getaway is actually smack dab in Arizona. Phoenix is having a moment right now, and we're all here for it. It offers an affordable getaway that promises 70 and 80-degree temperatures, lots of hiking, and a food scene that is bursting at the seams.

Angie Rice, co-founder of Boutique Travel Advisors, agrees. "Phoenix shines in February as that ideal post-event sweet spot (after Barrett-Jackson in January and WM Phoenix Open early February), with reliably warm, sunny days that are perfect for outdoor adventures before spring crowds arrive," she says. Even if you're just in town for a few days, we've talked with the people who know this city best, and carved out the best well-rounded itinerary that covers nature, food, culture, and so much more.

Why Now?

G

Sarah Doyle, Director of Communications at Visit Phoenix, frames it in the most persuasive way possible, by describing what February looks like here. “While most of the country is digging out of snowstorms, bundling up against freezing temperatures, and wishing for warmer days, Phoenicians are walking into perfect patio season. With low humidity and average daytime temperatures in the mid-60s to low-70s, hiking trails are dotted with visitors, patios are full, and the Sonoran Desert turns into an outdoor playground," she says.

Rice points out that the timing is what makes it so popular this time of year. You’re past the biggest crowds of the holiday season, but you still get the energy, plus ample cultural activities and new restaurants without the spring break visitors yet. February is also prime for exploring the desert, whether that means early blooms on the trails, golden-hour sunset views that look storybook, or the simple pleasure of a warm night when you can stay out later without planning around humidity, rain or cold.

The Ultimate 48 Hour Itinerary

Both Doyle and Rice recommend starting your first full day early, with a trip to the city's famed centerpiece: Camelback Mountain. For the steepest, most iconic Camelback summit hike, take Echo Canyon Trail (1.14 miles one-way, about 2.28 miles out-and-back). If you want a slightly longer climb with a steadier start before a rugged finish, choose Cholla Trail (1.5 miles one-way, about 3.0 miles out-and-back).

After your hike, Doyle recommends spending the afternoon leaning into Scottsdale’s vibrant golf scene with a round of golf at spots like TPC Scottsdale, Troon North, Grayhawk or We-Ko-Pa if that’s your version of vacation. If you're more into art, continue your foray into the area's rich artistic soul with a slow wander through Old Town’s galleries and Western art.

Then kick off your evening with dinner and drinks at one of the city's famed restaurants. Rice recommends Café Monarch in Old Town Scottsdale as a place you can't miss. "(Cafe Monarch) is widely hailed as one of America's most romantic restaurants (top-ranked on Yelp's 2026 romantic list), because of the intimate ambiance, impeccable service and prix-fixe fine dining with seasonal, premium ingredients," Rice says.

On day two, go urban and cultural before you go back to the desert. Downtown Phoenix is stacked with museums, including the Phoenix Art Museum, the Heard Museum for Southwestern Native American Art, or the Musical Instrument Museum if you want something unexpectedly fun and immersive. “At the Heard Museum, you can experience powerful thematic exhibits chronicling the infamous native boarding schools, world-class Native American Art, as well as educational programs and cultural events," Doyle says.

If your weekend lands on the first Friday, time the night around Phoenix First Fridays on Roosevelt Row (6–10 p.m.), a big, buzzy art walk that celebrates a myriad of local artists, from sculptors to painters and more. "This is one of our biggest local events, and we love when tourists join in. It's truly of the largest monthly art walks in the U.S., with 70+ venues, galleries, pop-ups and live music," Rice says.

Paul Dedewo - Visit Phoenix

Close it out with a dinner that fits your mood, whether that’s Lom Wong or Bacanora for destination dining, Buck & Rider for celebratory seafood energy or Steak 44 for a dressed-up, classic Phoenix night. "Bacanara is one we always recommend, because it blends ingredients you can find in the desert," Doyle says. "It's a blend of Sonoran favorites, like elote and calabasitas, with more show-stopping entrees like the forty-ounce tomahawk steak, all cooked over their mesquite wood-fired grill," she says.

Where to Stay, Depending on the Version of Phoenix You Want

Getty Images

Choose your home base based on what kind of trip you're having. For a classic, resort-style stay, Doyle points to the Arizona Biltmore, which sits on 39 acres of sprawling natural beauty, boasting palm trees, mountain views and plenty of cacti. Plus, it has multiple dining venues—including a Petit Chef experience for the kids — so you never have to leave if you don't want to.

“Known for its Frank Lloyd Wright inspired architecture, The Biltmore stands out as Arizona’s flagship luxury resort, helping establish the state as a destination for travelers when it first opened in 1929. Since opening, nearly every U.S. president, as well as cultural icons, have stayed at the Biltmore," she says.

If you want something more urban, opt for a hotel in Downtown Phoenix, like FOUND:RE Phoenix, an art-forward boutique stay in the Roosevelt Row district that puts galleries, bars and restaurants right outside your door. Scottsdale can be your hub if you want your trip to be anchored around golf, vibrant and popping Old Town, and easy access to great food. The Hotel Valley Ho keeps you right in the mix with a retro-cool, mid-century icon vibe that’s walkable to Old Town.

1969 Hit Song Stopped Frank Sinatra From Retiring

Sun, 02/22/2026 - 6:14am

In 1969, Frank Sinatra released what would become one of his signature hits, “My  Way.” The song, which was a lyrical adaptation of the French song “Comme D’Habitude,” was written by Paul Anka.

“My Way” was a top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100, peaking at No. 27 in 1969, while reaching No. 2 on the Easy Listening chart. The song hit No. 5 in the U.K. and stayed on the charts for more than a year. It also became one of Sinatra’s signature songs—and it stopped him from a premature retirement.

Speaking with CBS News in February 2026, Anka, 84, looked back on writing “My Way” after he got word that Ole Blue Eyes was planning to retire.

"It started to write itself," he said of the song, which took him about five hours to complete. "It was such a hit, he stayed ten more years!" Anka added of Sinatra. "And then after that came 'Let Me Try Again.'"

According to People magazine, “My Way” originated when Anka heard “Comme D’Habitude” on the radio while vacationing in France and became “captivated” by it. The young songwriter contacted the publishers to cut a sweet deal for adaptation, recording, and publishing rights to the song.

Soon after, a dire dinner meeting with Sinatra spawned Anka’s hit adaptation of the song.

“He wasn't in a good mood — he was breaking up with his wife, Mia Farrow, so he wasn't in the best of shape,” Anka recalled on a 2024 episode of the Our Way podcast. "We were at dinner, and he said, ‘Kid, I'm quitting show business. I've had enough. I'm tired, the Rat Pack's over. I'm doing one more album — and  you never wrote me a song.’”

Anka recalled going home and writing moving lyrics to the French melody he’d acquired. “I was kind of metaphorically writing it with [Frank] in mind because I was moved by the fact that he was leaving,” Anka shared. “So I wrote it as if he were writing it.”

He soon presented the song to Sinatra—and the rest is history.

In 2026, Anka told Deadline that he was devastated when Sinatra told him he was retiring. “I’m a music guy, but this is my guy and he’s quitting,” Anka recalled. “I can’t f---ing believe it. So when he said that to me, I was crushed.”

“My dream was to make a song for him,” Anka added. “I thought I had run out of time. I had one shot left. I’d bought this melody I heard and liked, and I thought about Frank looking back at his career, and it just poured out of me.”

Sinatra announced his retirement in 1971 but returned to the music scene two years later and continued to perform for decades. Sinatra’s final solo studio album, L.A. is My Lady, was released in 1984, and his last live show was in 1995. The music legend died in May 1998 at age 82.
