Carrie Underwood Sends a Direct Message to Haters After Being 'Booed' on 'American Idol'

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:30am

Carrie Underwoodisn't afraid of getting booed.

The country superstar spoke out on Monday, March 2 after the latest Hollywood Week episode of American Idol, where she faced some pretty loud boos from the show's studio audience.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter) to live comment while the episode aired, Underwood wrote, "Boo me. I don't care."

During the Hollywood Week episode, which was filmed in Nashville, Tenn., this year as part of the Idol's "Music City Takeover," Underwood was booed after offering some tough criticism to contestant Mor Ilderton for performing an original song during such a high-stakes point in the competition.

Boo me. I don’t care. 😂😜đŸ€Ș@AmericanIdol

"You guys are gonna boo me. You’re gonna boo me," Underwood said. "It’s coming. Bring it on. I love it! Your boos are feeding me."

At another point in the show, Underwood turned to fellow judge Luke Bryan after he delivered some criticism to one of the contestants to ask, "Why don't they boo you?"

"I don't know I'm trying to get booed," Bryan replied, while Underwood asked the audience, "You're not gonna boo Luke?" before the crowd eventually obliged and booed him as well.

Last month, Underwood warned viewers that she got booed "A LOT" during Hollywood Week, which many believe to be a result of her honest criticism for contestants. Others, however, think the "Before He Cheats" singer might be dealing with haters due to past controversy, after she faced backlash for performing at Donald Trump's inauguration last year.

"I've been booing you since the inauguration," one critic fired back at Underwood's initial tweet, while tons more users on X also assumed the boos were fueled by politics.

"Most of it is probably because of who they think you are not what you have to say," another user chimed in.

Some others disagreed, though, as one user pointed out that American Idol judges are often booed when they give a harsh critique.

"This isn’t something unique to carrie and has nothing to do with her political view," that user wrote.

"Simon Cowell got booed a lot, he was the best judge too," someone else said about the former Idol judge, who was known for being especially severe with his critiques.

"You don’t get a participation trophy if you can’t make it in music," the same user added.

Pink's Daughter Willow Absolutely Shines in Broadway Segment on 'Kelly Clarkson Show'

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:22am

Pink's daughter Willow Hart continues to show off her performing chops, and this time she was all on her own.

While the "So What" singer is hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show this week, she tapped her 14-year-old to host a segment where she showed off confident on-camera skills while chatting cast members from 'Ragtime' at New York's Lincoln Center.

The segment, which was shared on Instagram, garnered tons of comments from fans impressed by the teenager's mature presence.

"I feel like she went from 9 to 15 in the blink of an eye," one wrote. "She’s so adorable."

"Oh my god she’s aDORable!" added another. "I can’t believe she’s almost 15!"

"She is adorable. I want my daughter to grow up and be like Willow," said a third. "She seems so normal and well rounded. Great job Pink!!!"

In the clip, Hart chatted with the show's star Joshua Henry where the two chatted about how he prepares for shows, including his vocal warmups, which she also tried out.

Hart was also included in in-studio segments with her mom on Monday's episode. The two interviewed Darren Criss and also sang "Hopeless War" from Broadway's 'The Outsiders.'

Pink is filling in as host for Clarkson this week and has shut down rumors that she's ultimately taking over the show as the "Stronger" singer's program is ending after seven seasons.

"Hi everybody. Just in a continuation of debunking all of the sources that we've got going on in the world, I'm not taking over the Kelly Clarkson Show," Pink said in a since-deleted Instagram video, according to E! News.

Willow has regularly performed with her mom throughout the years. She's covered "Just Give Me a Reason" and more recently sang on stage at Radio City Music Hall during Hugh Jackman's show 'From New York With Love' in September.

Pink shares Willow with husband Carey Hart. They're also parents to 9-year-old Jameson.

Elton John’s Sons Look So Grown Up in Newly Unveiled — and Rare —Portrait

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:16am

A new portrait at London’s National Portrait Gallery is turning heads.

Music legend Elton John is joined by husband David Furnish and their sons Zachary, 15, and Elijah, 13, in a newly unveiled family portrait that will be displayed at London’s National Portrait Gallery. The image, captured inside the family’s cozy home library, offers a rare glimpse into their family life.

In the portrait, which was briefly shown on the gallery’s Instagram Story Tuesday, March 3, the 78-year-old musician sits on a sofa beside Furnish, 63, who rests an arm on John’s leg. One son perches on the arm of the couch while the other relaxes on the floor with the family’s two dogs. While Zachary and Elijah keep things classic in black T-shirts, their dads opted for something a little more bold. John wears a striped eggplant suit paired with royal blue glasses, layered pearl necklaces and lilac shoes with red soles. Furnish opts for a green suit styled with a light blue shirt.

The portrait was taken by acclaimed photographer Catherine Opie just days before Christmas. In a statement shared with The Telegraph, John and Furnish reflected on the experience, saying, “To have our family photographed by Catherine Opie and on display at the National Portrait Gallery is a huge honor.” They added, “We are huge admirers of her work and proud to have her beautiful and poignant images in our collection.”

Opie called the opportunity “truly an honor” to work with the family and explained that the final image represents “the humanity of what family can be.”

Victoria Siddall, director of the National Portrait Gallery, also praised the portrait as a celebration not only of John’s musical legacy but also “the vital humanitarian and philanthropic work that he and David have undertaken in recent decades, and the family they have built together.”

John and Furnish, who met in 1993 and married in 2014 after entering a civil partnership in 2005, welcomed Zachary in 2010 and Elijah in 2013 via surrogate.

British Alt-Rock Band Announces First Album in 8 Years

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:12am

Basement fans have been waiting nearly a decade for this.

The British alt-rock band is back with WIRED, their first album since 2018, arriving May 8 via Run For Cover Records. Along with the announcement, they've released two new tracks and confirmed a run of 2026 tour dates across Europe.

According to a press release, the 12-track album marks a return to the “unbridled passion and creative intuition that’s always animated their best material.”

WIRED was created while the band’s members were questioning their place in the music industry. Vocalist Andrew Fisher reflected on that time, saying, “We were all left with a really weird, sour taste in our mouth after signing to a major label and having all these people control things.”

When the band eventually reunited in the studio, those frustrations materialized as their upcoming album.

Fans can get a taste of the new record through its first two tracks: the title song, “WIRED,” and “Broken By Design.”

View this post on Instagram

Discussing the songs, Fisher shared, “‘WIRED’ is about how sometimes it feels that we are set up to feel and behave in certain ways beyond our control. That no matter how hard you try to hide it, eventually it will come out – either by choice or by force.”

He also offered a glimpse into the origins of the track and how it evolved during the writing process.

“This song was almost lost – a few of us were into it, but it sort of lost traction for a bit,” he continued. “Then one day it cropped back up and we put it at the forefront of our minds and it ended up being one of my favourite songs to perform and record.”

On “Broken By Design,” the singer revealed that the track is “about giving something your absolute best and realising it’s destined to fail. Getting to the other side of the situation, looking back and deciding to do everything differently and feeling grateful for the opportunity to grow. We’ve all done a lot of work on getting better at talking to each other as friends and as band mates.”

Basement will bring WIRED to the stage this summer with a series of European dates. The tour kicks off June 5 with a sold-out show at Rock am Ring in NĂŒrburg, Germany, and concludes August 29 at Canela Party in Torremolinos, Spain.

2000s Hit Ranked ‘Best TV Show of the Century’

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:08am

When Mad Men premiered in 2007, few could have predicted just how deeply it would shape the television landscape.

Now, nearly two decades later, the AMC drama has been ranked the "Best TV Show of the Century" by The Hollywood Reporter, placing it at the very top of 21st-century television.

Created by Matthew Weiner, Mad Men followed the executives and secretaries of Sterling Cooper, a fictional New York advertising agency navigating the cultural upheaval of the 1960s and early '70s. At its center was Don Draper, played by Jon Hamm, a charismatic creative director whose personal life was as carefully constructed, and as fragile, as the campaigns he pitched.

The Hollywood Reporter's ranking praised the series for asking an uncomfortable question: What if the people who shape our cultural narratives, who tell us how to feel about cars, perfume and politics, are deeply flawed themselves? Through seven seasons, the show explored ambition, identity, gender roles and moral compromise against the backdrop of an America in transition.

Don Draper's arc became one of television's most debated character studies. Was he redeemable? Could reinvention ever truly erase the past? While the series often veered into cynicism, it also offered moments of surprising optimism, establishing an emotional balance that helped set it apart from other prestige dramas of its era.

"The show is based on public Don and private Don, and some seasons are spent inside Don’s head seeing the world," said Weiner in an interview with TIME. "And those are harder for the audience because it’s not a great place to live."

Beyond Don, the ensemble cast created characters who felt instantly iconic. Christina Hendricks' Joan Holloway radiated power and vulnerability. Elisabeth Moss' Peggy Olson evolved from timid secretary to trailblazing copy chief. January Jones' Betty Draper embodied suburban dissatisfaction, while Vincent Kartheiser's Pete Campbell delivered both cringe and unexpected humanity.

"So Betty, Peggy, Joan, I try to look at what their expectations are for their life, what are the limitations, and how do they respond to them?" said Weiner. "Peggy is indestructible. [...] The most deliberate thing that I’ve tried to show about Betty is that she has no options, and some of that’s her fault. [...] You take someone like Joan, slowly realizing that she had ambitions outside of marriage. Has it been limited by her options? Maybe a little bit, but she decided to have that child by herself."

Over its run, Mad Men won 16 Primetime Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes, including four consecutive wins for Outstanding Drama Series. It also left behind a cultural imprint far beyond trophies: sharply tailored suits and sheath dresses reentered fashion cycles, its dialogue became endlessly quotable and its scenes turned into memes long before memes dominated social media.

In revisiting the series as the century's best, The Hollywood Reporter suggests that Mad Men wasn't just a period piece about the past; it was a mirror for the present. Its thoughtful exploration of power, image-making and personal reckoning feels no less relevant today than it did when Don Draper first lit a cigarette in a boardroom.

Nearly 20 years after its debut, Mad Men remains more than a hit show of the 2000s. According to The Hollywood Reporter, it stands as the defining television drama of the century so far.

2000s Hit Rock Band Announces Departure of Lead Vocalist and Founding Member

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:01am

In the 2000s, Christian rock dominated the rock music genre, with Red having been one of the frontrunners of the era. The band announced to fans that they plan to move forward with the departure of lead vocalist and one of its founding members, Michael Barnes.

Sibling co-founders, guitarist and bassist Randy and Anthony Anderson, posted a video message on Instagram announcing the news. They confirmed Barnes would be leaving the band after having brought up his decision a year ago. Barnes is reportedly stepping away to fully focus on his family, a decision the band has come to terms with and fully understands.

"You've all been wondering what's going on. We've been getting your messages and your emails and I just want to thank you guys for your love and support. I can tell you we're all happy and healthy and that's the good news," they said.

"The bad news is about a year ago, now Mike Barnes, our lead singer, approached us and said that he'd like to step away from RED permanently to focus on his family. And after 19 years, going on 20 years this year, it's something that we completely understand. We've given up a lot to be out there on the road doing what we love, but our families have also sacrificed and given up so much to allow us to be on the road, so it's something that we completely understand and we will honor and respect his decision."

They go on to add that they have been together for 20 years, and friends since they were children in the third grade. Their memories together on the road are "countless," with the brothers saying they "love" their friend dearly and are going to miss him.

Red also confirmed that Barnes isn’t departing just yet, as the band prepares to celebrate the 20th anniversary of End of Silence with a tour in May and June. Barnes will perform with the group through the final stop on June 5 in Dallas, Texas. AJ Reingardt of OHKAYA will step in as the band’s new vocalist.

Barnes has yet to fully comment on his decision to leave the band, but did urge fans to purchase tickets for Red's upcoming tour. He also posted a photo with the caption "The Redeemers Coming Soon" that could hint at his next project.

Red formed back in the early 2000s as a Christian rock band out of Nashville, Tennessee, with the Armstrong brothers and Barnes. Andrew Hendrix and Jasen Rauch later joined as the drummer and guitarists. Their debut albums, End of Silence and Innocence & Instinct, were released in 2006 and 2008. The albums were nomianted Grammy Award for Best Rock Gospel Album, and spawned the popular singles "Breathe Into Me" and "Death of Me".

Their third album, Until We Have Faces, further pushed them into mainstream popularity and reached No. 2 on the Billboard 200 charts. The 2013 album, Release the Panic, debuted at No. 7.

1973 Hit Ranked No. 1 'Scariest Horror Movie Ever' Is Also the Highest-Grossing R-Rated Horror Film

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 10:00am

Fear wears many masks. Fear of heights. Fear of spiders. Fear of small spaces. Horror writer H.P. Lovecraft once said that the "strongest kind of fear is fear of the unknown." For instance, Lovecraft was absolutely terrified of his Brooklyn neighbors; had he lived long enough, he may have discovered that chicken shawarma is delicious, Turkish jazz is groovy, and that his prejudices were more horrific than any eldritch horror he conjured up in his still-influential prose.

As people brave their terrors, fear changes. It adapts, shifting with every new era and technological advance. Yet there are still some classic scares that inspire fear across generations. Lovecraft himself might have shuddered in terror after seeing what Rotten Tomatoes dubbed the "scariest horror movie ever": The Exorcist.

Rotten Tomatoes polled its users for the most horrifying cinematic fright, and the landmark 1973 movie came out on top. "You may not agree that The Exorcist is the scariest movie ever, but it probably also isn't much of a surprise to see it at the top of our list — with a whopping 19% of all the votes cast," wrote the site.

Directed by William Friedkin (The French Connection and later, Sorcerer), The Exorcist adapted William Peter Blatty's novel of the same name. A demon possesses a young girl named Regan MacNeil (Linda Blair), and priests Father Lankester Merrin (Max von Sydow) and Father Karras (Jason Miller) attempt to save her soul.

These attempts to banish said demon became "the highest-grossing R-rated horror film ever and the first to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars," per RT.

"But outside of its critical and commercial bona fides, the film is well-known for the mass hysteria it inspired across the country, from protests over its controversial subject matter to widespread reports of nausea and fainting in the audience," adds the site. "Its dramatic pacing and somewhat dated effects may seem quaint compared to some contemporary horror, but there's no denying the power the film continues to have over those who see it for the first time."

The rest of the top 5 included 2018's Hereditary, which was No. 2 on Rotten Tomatoes' list, followed by The Conjuring (2013), The Shining(1980), and Tobe Hooper's original The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

The Exorcist spawned two sequels—1977's Exorcist II: The Heretic, and 1990's The Exorcist III (best known for its nurse jump scare)—before lying dormant, until 2004's Exorcist: The Beginning rebooted the series, leading to Dominion (2005) and 2023's The Exorcist: Believer. A new film is expected for 2027, per Deadline.

'Lion King' Lyrics Translation Goes Viral: Watch the Hilarious 'Millennial Crash Out' Over the Intro's True Meaning

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:58am

For over thirty years, the opening chant of The Lion Kinghas served as the ultimate cinematic trigger for millennial tears. The moment those soaring Zulu vocals hit, we aren’t just sitting in a theater or on our couches; we are on the Pride Lands, witnessing the balance of nature in its most majestic form. But according to a guest on a recent viral clip, the "majestic" lyrics we’ve been humming for decades are actually just a very enthusiastic play-by-play of exactly what is happening on screen.

The moment features Learnmore Jonasi, a guest on the podcast One54 Africa explaining that the legendary opening lines—Nants ingonyama bagithi Baba—don't actually translate to a deep philosophical treatise on the cosmos. Instead, the literal translation is famously straightforward: “Look there is a lion. Oh my god. It’s a lion.”

View this post on Instagram

As the guest laid out the lyrics, hosts Akbar Gbajabiamila and Godfrey Daneschmah immediately spiraled into a fit of disbelief. “That’s not what it means,” Gbajabiamila insisted, clinging to the childhood magic of the 1994 classic. Jonasi's response has since become a mantra for disillusioned fans: “That’s exactly what it means.” For anyone who spent their youth thinking those syllables held the secrets to the universe, the revelation felt like a personal attack. As Gbajabiamila put it, “The whole time I thought it was this beautiful, majestic—” before dissolving into laughter.

Social media has embraced the chaos with open arms. Instagram commenters are particularly "deceased" over the simplicity of the songwriting, with one user noting, “I love when he deadpans, 'That's exactly what that means.' ” Others are finding it hard to reconcile their emotional connection to the song with its newly discovered "Captain Obvious" energy. “Now I feel ridiculous for starting to cry as soon as this song starts
every single time,” one fan confessed.

The reaction has been dubbed by some as “the cutest millennial crash out I’ve ever seen,” as an entire generation realizes that Lebo M (the legendary South African composer behind the vocals) was essentially just pointing at the main character.

Of course, some "OG" fans claim they’ve been in on the joke for years. One commenter recalled a DIY investigation from the early aughts: “My friends and I used the early stages of Google Translate (or something similar) to translate this back in the early 2000’s and I remember us being DECEASED when it came back with 'look, father, a lion. Father, look at the lion.' Like we thought it was something really intricate and beautiful
 nope.”

While the literal translation might lack the flowery prose of a Shakespearean sonnet, there is an objective brilliance to its simplicity. In a movie about a lion becoming king, what could be more fitting than a chorus shouting, “You have got to be kidding me there’s no way that’s translated to that”? There is another meaning: In Zulu, the word used for lion (Ingonyama) is also an honorific title for a king. So, while it sounds like they’re just spotting an animal, they’re simultaneously announcing the arrival of royalty. Majestic? Yes. Literal? Absolutely.

Hobby Lobby's 'Absolutely Gorgeous' Find Will Transform Your Backyard Into an Outdoor Oasis

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:55am

Creating a backyard retreat is about more than just planting perennials or keeping the lawn manicured. It is about fostering an ecosystem where nature feels welcome to linger. Many homeowners find that the missing piece in their landscape design isn't another shrub, but rather a functional focal point that bridges the gap between artistic expression and environmental stewardship. By introducing elements that cater to the local fauna, you transform a static view into a dynamic, living portrait of movement and song.

The presence of water is perhaps the most vital component for any flourishing wildlife garden. Beyond the rhythmic sound of a fountain or the stillness of a pond, accessible water sources provide a lifeline for migratory visitors and year-round residents alike. When these features are designed with an eye for aesthetics, they serve a dual purpose: providing essential hydration for wildlife while acting as a sophisticated centerpiece for your patio or flower bed. Finding the right balance between durability and visual appeal is the hallmark of well-curated outdoor decor, ensuring your investment stands up to the elements while remaining a beautiful sight for years to come.

Blake Shelton Learns What Luke Bryan’s NSFW Lyric Really Means

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:53am

Blake Shelton may be one of country music’s biggest stars, but even he admits he’s “not the sharpest knife in the drawer” sometimes.

In a new Instagram video filmed while doing farm work in Oklahoma on Monday, March 2, Shelton revealed he was listening to a local country station when he heard his initials in a song, “BS Free”. Curious, he turned up the volume—only to realize it was his longtime friend Luke Bryan’s new track.

“I actually had to look up what BFE means,” Shelton confessed, referencing the lyrics in Bryan’s song. The phrase “BS free and BFE” is meant to reference being out in the middle of nowhere, shorthand for “bum f**k Egypt,” a slang term for a remote location. But Shelton hilariously took the acronym literally.

View this post on Instagram

“I can honestly say that, you know, I've never been butt effing in Egypt,” he joked. “I've never even been to Egypt, so I've definitely never butt effed there.”

The 49-year-old country star leaned into the bit, calling it a “risky and powerful lyric” and praising Bryan’s honesty, before encouraging fans to check out the track. “I'm proud of the guy. I love him,” Shelton added.

Fans got a kick out of the clip too.

“The way he said this with a straight face lmao,” one fan wrote.

Another joked, “BFE... best friend, ever!!!”

“I thought we're going to get the farming content but it's a comedy episode,” another noted.

The two country legends have an ongoing, yet friendly, rivalry. Earlier this year during his Las Vegas residency at The Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, Shelton stopped mid-show to roast a fan for wearing Bryan’s merchandise. “You come to my show wearing Luke Bryan s**t?” Shelton teased before joking, “That guy’s an idiot!” He even poked fun at Bryan’s stage habits, quipping that the singer asks fans to sing along because he’s “too drunk to remember the words to his own song.”

Shelton and Bryan’s careers rose alongside one another in the late 2000s, and their playful trash talk only intensified during their time as coaches on The Voice.

In an October 2025 interview with CMT, Bryan, also 49, joked that their rivalry is the only thing keeping him motivated after the host pointed out he holds more No. 1 hits than Shelton. "That’s the only reason that I’m still in the game of country music, to stay ahead," Bryan quipped. "I thought he was retiring—he’s back putting songs out. It’s not the deal we had."

A New Costco Bakery Dessert Brings an Early Taste of Summer

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:36am

Few ingredients signal the shift into warmer days quite like strawberries. After months of heavier sweets, something bright and fruit-forward feels like a welcome change. If you've been craving that first hint of spring flavor, Costco's newest find lands at just the right time.

The new Strawberries and Cream dessert is now available in the warehouse bakery section for $14.99.

The 2-pound treat features three straightforward layers: a crumbly graham cracker base for subtle butteriness and texture, a generous layer of airy whipped cream, and a topping of juicy, bright red whole strawberries. And it looks as good as it sounds.

You can see Costco's newest creation in this March 2 TikTok from @supabusinessreviews:

This dessert is a welcome twist on classic strawberry shortcake, without the cake or, more importantly, any of the work. The graham cracker crumb gives it that subtle, slightly buttery base that keeps the sweetness from going overboard. The sweetened whipped cream is soft and airy, and the strawberries add a fresh, tart, juicy bite that keeps each scoop balanced. You can leave it as-is, or add chocolate shavings, syrup, or even extra berries if you want to elevate it a tad.

And it's ready to scoop, making it easy to portion for family dinners, small gatherings, or, yes, a few straight from the fridge if you don't feel like dirtying a bowl.

Costco's Strawberries and Cream Dessert Arrives During Peak Winter Strawberry Season

It might feel a little early for fresh strawberries, depending on where you live. In warmer spots like Florida, however, strawberry season runs from December through April, according to the Florida Department of Agriculture. The state supplies much of the country's fresh strawberries during the winter months, which helps explain why strawberry-based desserts begin appearing now, even before local harvests start elsewhere.

As with many of Costco's bakery releases, availability can vary by warehouse, and seasonal desserts often rotate throughout the year. If you've been waiting for something lighter to hit the table, the $14.99, two-pound Costco Strawberries and Cream dessert might be one to grab while it's in the bakery aisle.

Former Beatle, 85, Announces New All-Star Album With Special Guests

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:34am

He may be 85 years old, but Ringo Starr is showing no signs of slowing down.

The former Beatles drummer is still getting by with a little help from his friends. He’s touring once again this spring and summer with his All Starr Band and he has just announced plans to release his second album produced by T Bone Burnett in as many years.

Long Long Road is due on April 24 and it’s being previewed with the first single “It’s Been Too Long,” featuring Sarah Jarosz and Molly Tuttle, released on March 3. They’re not the only special guests on the 10-track album. Others featured include Billy Strings, Sheryl Crow and St. Vincent.

Long Long Road follows Starr’s 2025 collaboration with Burnett, Look Up, which topped the Country and Americana charts in the U.K.

“I’m blessed to have T Bone in my life right now and working with me on these records,” Ringo said in a statement. “After we did the last record, which I love listening to, this one just sort of happened. I like to say sometimes I make the right moves, like you can go left or right at any point, and one of the right moves was hooking up with T Bone for Look Up, and now for this one, which I’m calling Long Long Road, because I’ve been on a long long road.”

On Long Long Road, Ringo continues to explore his country and Americana roots. “I recorded two Carl Perkins songs with The Beatles, and both T Bone and I wanted one on this record,” Ringo explained, “and he found this beautiful track I’d never heard before, ‘I Don’t See Me in Your Eyes Anymore.’”

Recorded in studios in Nashville and Los Angeles, Long Long Road finds Starr backed by many of the same musicians who played on Look Up, including a core of session aces that Burnett calls the Texans, including Paul Franklin, David Mansfield, Dennis Crouch, Daniel Tashian, Rory Hoffman, Patrick Warren and Colin Linden.

“I've loved Ringo’s playing and his singing for my whole life,” Burnett said in a statement. “And then one night we were at a poetry reading together and he said, why don't you write a song for me? So I wrote him a Gene Autry type song because I always heard Ringo as a Texas artist, the way he played felt just like Texas music to me. Ringo Starr is a recording artist of the highest caliber, and I wanted to surround him with these young masters, bringing in some of this extraordinary young energy that's happening around Nashville for both of these records.”

‘Dumb and Dumber’ Star Lauren Holly, 62, Is a Ravishing Redhead Over 30 Years After the Film’s Release

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:31am

Lauren Holly was one of the top stars of the '90s, and she's just as stunning in 2026.

The redheaded actress, 62, rose to stardom as Deputy Sheriff Maxine Stewart in the popular television series Picket Fences. However, it was her role as Mary Swanson opposite Jim Carrey in 1994's legendary comedy Dumb and Dumber that put her on the map forever. Holly and Carrey went on to marry but divorced after just one year in 1997.

These days, Holly is still every bit the ravishing redhead that she was in the '90s. In a new Instagram post, the beauty shared a photo from Toronto, Ontario, as she leaned back in the sunshine.

"Mercury retro đŸŒ€đŸ’«#yearofthefirehorse," Holly captioned the shot, which showed her trademark red hair glistening in the sun.

How Does Holly Feel About Former Costar Dennis Quaid?

Holly starred with actor Dennis Quaid in the popular 1999 football film Any Given Sunday. She played his wife, with whom he had a troubled relationship. After photos and video of Quaid aboard Air Force One with President Donald Trump were tweeted by Ted Cruz, Holly made it clear that she wasn't a huge fan of Quaid's politics.

"At least I got to slap him real hard in Any Given Sunday," Holly wrote on Threads.

When another Threads user asked if Holly could “slap the whole regime really hard,” she wrote back, “I would if I could.”

Back in December, Deadline reported that Holly will star alongside Sophia Bush and Steve Guttenberg in Broad Trip, a road trip comedy for The Roku Channel. Set to debut in May 2026, Broad Trip sounds like a fun romp for Holly.

“When buttoned-up daughter Alice (Bush) plans a “bachelorette” road trip with her wild and impulsive mother, Jeanie (Holly), to talk her out of marrying a guy she just met (Guttenberg), they rediscover their unbreakable bond, confronting old wounds and old flames, while learning the lesson that sometimes life doesn’t follow a plan — and maybe that’s okay," the official synopsis reads.

Luke Combs Compares Buying His First Rolex to 'Pretty Woman': 'I Don't Necessarily Blame Them'

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:30am

Luke Combs, 36, was surprised during his first experience buying a Rolex watch in New York City. The country star opened up about being judged on his appearance and feeling like he was in a scene of the 1990 movie Pretty Woman, but doens't necessarily "blame them."

While appearing on The New York Times’ Popcast, Combs explained that he always wanted to own a Rolex. He has fond memories of his grandfather having owned the expensive name-brand watch after he left working at the mill. He explained his grandfather was "always insanely proud of it. It signified this achievement. All his work is summed up in this item that he can physically have and wear."

The country star isn't shy to admit that he never believed he would reach the stardom he has in his career. When it came time to finally get a Rolex, Combs says he got "Pretty Woman’d."

His example is in relation to Julia Roberts' iconic scene in the 1990 movie, where she enters a luxury store on Beverly Hills Boulevard. Still wearing her "work" clothes, Roberts' character is judged on her appearance, refused service, and told she can't afford the store's clothing.

"I was wearing camo gym shorts, so I don’t necessarily blame them for doing that," explained Combs. "There’s the dance-of-the-watch thing, but I don’t know, so I walk in, and I’m like, 'Stainless steel Yacht-Master, you got one?' And they’re like, 'No, what are you talking about?' And I'm like, ‘What do you mean? Like, this is the store where you sell that.'"

Combs compared the reaction he received to someone entering a Godiva store and being told by a sales associate that they don't have chocolate. Baffled by the interaction, Combs asked the associate again who answered that they don't have any of the watches he was inquiring about.

"I'm like, I find it hard to believe that a company is spending money for this real estate in New York City by [Madison Square] Garden, and there's nothing for sale. You're telling me that's a thing?" he said.

Seeing as he was performing at Madison Square Garden that night, purchasing the watch was his "I made it" moment, similar to his grandfather's. It just so happened that the store clerk later admitted they did have the watch he was looking for. Now, Combs has purchased high-end brands like Patek Philippe and has bought a watch every time one of his children has been born.

‘80s Rock Icon’s Song Hits 1 Billion Streams After 50 Years

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:30am

Hall & Oates’ classic song “Rich Girl” has just reached an impressive milestone decades after its release.

Known as one of the duo’s highly popular songs, the 1979 track has now joined Spotify’s Billionaire’s Club, a curated list of tracks that have surpassed one billion streams on the platform.

Each month, the digital audio streaming platform highlights the “new members” who made it to the Billionaire’s Club, celebrating the song and artist who have reached this remarkable milestone.

For February, among those who surpassed the one billion mark was the American pop-rock duo consisting of Daryl Hall and John Oates.

Released under their fifth studio album, Bigger Than Both of Us, “Rich Girl” became the band’s first song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

At the end of the year, Billboard ranked the Hall & Oates song as the 23rd biggest hit of 1977.

Hall & Oates’ Iconic Song Was Inspired by a Real ‘Rich Girl’

Some of the greatest hit songs are inspired by something, a memorable incident, a special moment or a loved one, but in the case of the music duo, the song was drawn from a real-life “rich girl.”

In an interview with American Songwriter, Daryl Hall revealed that the iconic song was inspired by a former boyfriend of Sara Allen, his collaborator and longtime partner.

American rock and soul duo Hall & Oates in a studio portrait circa 1980.

“‘Rich Girl’ was written about an old boyfriend of Sara’s from college that she was still friends with at the time,” he told the outlet, adding, “His name is Victor Walker. He came to our apartment, and he was acting sort of strange. His father was quite rich. I think he was involved with some kind of fast-food chain. I said, ‘This guy is out of his mind, but he doesn’t have to worry about it because his father’s gonna bail him out of any problems he gets in.’ So I sat down and wrote that chorus. [Sings] He can rely on the old man’s money / he can rely on the old man’s money / he’s a rich guy. I thought that didn’t sound right, so I changed it to rich girl.”

According to the singer-songwriter, Walker knew that the song was written about him.

Although “Rich Girl” was a hit with the public, it carries a deeper meaning. It illustrates how privilege and wealth can bring freedom and moral detachment but also the real struggles that money can’t solve.

At $39.99, the RÅSKOG utility cart remains one of the most affordable and versatile organization tools you can own. Its compact size makes it perfect for tight corners, narrow hallways and tiny apartments. The sturdy frame and four castors mean you can roll it wherever you need extra storage. Lockable wheels keep it steady once you find the right spot.

This utility cart works almost anywhere. In the kitchen, it can hold utensils, snacks or produce. Next to your desk, it becomes a rolling home for notebooks, chargers and office supplies. In the bathroom, it stores towels and beauty products. It is even popular as a bar cart, coffee station or craft organizer. That flexibility is exactly why it has earned cult status in the organizational world.

The mesh shelves are another thoughtful touch. They allow air to circulate, which helps reduce dust and moisture buildup. The perforated design also makes it easy to see what you have at a glance. When everything is visible, staying organized feels effortless.

Rebel Pink is also part of IKEA's broader push toward more expressive interiors. The color is featured in new collections that encourage creativity and playfulness at home. Instead of sticking with neutral palettes, this trend leans into energy and self-expression. Adding a pink utility cart might seem like a small change, but it can completely shift the vibe of a room.

Whether you use it for storage, display or daily essentials, this pink utility cart proves that organization does not have to be boring. It can be functional, affordable and fun all at once. If you have been waiting for a sign to refresh your space, this might be it.

'Star Trek' Turns 60 With a Packed Year: Here's Everything You Need to Know

Tue, 03/03/2026 - 9:18am

Sixty years ago, on September 8, 1966, NBC aired 'The Man Trap,' the first broadcast episode of Star Trek. Gene Roddenberry's vision of a hopeful, exploratory future. The picture of a future humanity that had solved its ugliest problems and reached for the stars was not an immediate ratings triumph. It nearly got canceled twice. And yet here we are, six decades later with more Star Trek arriving across more platforms than at almost any point in its history.

The ramp-up to the 60th started last fall. Star Trek: Khan, a nine-episode scripted audio drama written by Kirsten Beyer and David Mack from a story by Wrath of Khan director Nicholas Meyer, premiered on September 8, 2025 (Star Trek Day) with Naveen Andrews as Khan Noonien Singh, George Takei reprising Sulu, and Tim Russ returning as a young Tuvok. The series fills in the 20 years Khan spent stranded on Ceti Alpha V between 'Space Seed' and The Wrath of Khan, and is available free on all major podcast platforms. Reviewers praised Andrews' performance, although the main caveat was that telling a story whose ending is already known creates a ceiling the series never quite breaks through.

The 60th anniversary celebration proper kicked off on January 1 with a customized float at the Rose Parade in Pasadena, California.

Then on February 18, Star Trek: Voyager — Across the Unknown launched on PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam. It's survival strategy game developed by Gamexcite and published by Daedalic Entertainment, in which players take command of the USS Voyager and attempt to survive the Delta Quadrant journey home.

From there, Star Trek: The Cruise IX set sail in late February, with William Shatner, Jonathan Frakes, Marina Sirtis, Terry Farrell, Nana Visitor, Robert Picardo, and more than 20 actors from across the franchise aboard.

Related: Patrick Stewart Said No—Then One Bottle of Wine Saved a 'Star Trek' TV Reunion

The rest of the anniversary year is packed. Here's what else is confirmed:

  • Strange New Worlds Season 4 — The next-to-last season, which wrapped production last summer, is expected on Paramount+ later this year.
  • IDW Publishing — Four new comics projects launch in 2026: a new ongoing Star Trek series in September starring Captain Seven of Nine commanding the Enterprise-G; Star Trek: Zero Point in October, written by Hugo Award-winner Charlie Jane Anders, following Captain Raffi Musiker; a Pride Month anthology in May; and a 60th Anniversary Special in September.
  • Star Trek: Scouts — A preschool animated series, the franchise's first, rolling out on YouTube through 2026.
  • LEGO — The franchise's first-ever LEGO partnership produced the USS Enterprise-D in late 2025, with additional sets expected through the anniversary year.
  • Star Trek: Las Vegas (STLV) — Creation Entertainment's flagship convention returns in August, celebrating both the franchise's 60th and Enterprise's 25th anniversary.
  • Two theatrical films possibly in development — One a potential conclusion to the Chris Pine Kelvin timeline, one an earlier-set origin story. Neither has a confirmed production start or release date.

The official milestone lands on Star Trek Day, September 8, 2026, marking 60 years since that first NBC broadcast. Whether either film gets a firm greenlight before then, nobody outside Paramount knows. What's certain is that in the meantime, there is no shortage of Star Trek.
