Sam Heughan Calls Out Jimmy Fallon for 'Outlander' Season 8 Comment: 'Jimmy, How Dare You!'
We don't yet know if Jamie Fraser dies in the final season of Outlander or not, and neither does Sam Heughan.
The subject came up when Heughan appeared on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallonon Wednesday night to promote Season 8 of Outlanderahead of its premiere on Friday, Mar. 6, on Starz. While speaking with Jimmy Fallon about the final season, the subject of spoilers came up, specifically, whether Jamie will die in a battle, as "the internet" claimed.
It all started with Fallon sharing, "The internet is kind of going crazy because there's rumors that your character... they die."
With that declaration, Heughan pursed his lips and looked shocked while the audience jeered loudly. Fallon exclaimed, "The internet said! Not me! The internet!"
View this post on Instagram"Jimmy, how dare you! How could you?" Heughan joked before explaining, "No, I mean in the trailer, we do hear... He gets some information that tells him he's going to die in a battle and yeah, he's obviously not sure if this is true or not, but that is something that he's certainly contending with this season. Yeah."
"Does he die? I don't know. You'll have to tune in and find out," the Outlander heartthrob continued. Then, as the audience reacted in a chorus of laughter, he claimed, "I don't know the ending. I actually don't know the ending."
"You shot multiple endings?" Fallon questioned.
"We shot multiple endings," Heughan confirmed. "I was there. But I don't know how it ends, so I'll be watching with you."
Heughan previously addressed the show's ending with Parade, stating, "âI know Dianaâs ending."
"We wonât get all the books done, obviously. Weâre only Season 8 and sheâs still writing. What I believe is there are going to be multiple endings and we will choose one eventually. Weâre going to shoot various endings, but I donât know which one theyâll use. One of the ideas Iâve been asking for or pushing for is very similar to the way Dianaâs book will end," he added.
Ahead of the Outlander Season 8 premiere, Heughan appeared alongside his co-star, Caitriona Balfe, on Monday, Mar. 2 for the premiere party at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center, New York City.
He wore a modern take on a traditional tartan plaid kilt while she stunned in a red silk lingerie-style slip dress. While posing together for photos, it's easy to see why the on-screen lovers have been "shipped" together for so many years after the series began on Starz on Aug. 9, 2014.
JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette Got Married in Georgia's Biggest Hidden Gemâ7 Must-See Sites
As viewers make their way through the nine-part limited series Love Story, they are becoming more and more infatuated with the details ofJFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette's relationship. The two were the definition of a power couple, and every moment of their lives was tracked by paparazzi⊠except for one. Somehow, the two were able to elude the media and "secretly" get married on September 21, 1996.
The special place they tied the knot was on Georgia's wildly underrated Cumberland Island. The remote national seashore is the largest of the barrier âsea islandsâ in Georgia. It is accessible through the town of St. Marys and is where wild horses roam free along secluded sandy beaches.
It's an idyllic island that hasn't been over-commercialized in the slightest. It is only accessible from St. Marys via a ferry. There are no shops, restaurants, or even trash cans. However, it is a stunning place worth the experience, even if for just a day trip. Here are seven things to see and do on this iconic, little-known island.
@lo._boCumberland Island National Seashore in Georgia is a rare sight to see as no commercial buildings are permitted to be built and most of the land is untouched, protected wilderness. No condos, no hotels, no piers. Just raw organic nature at her finest đ„č #beach #island #coast #ocean
⏠original sound - đ 1. Take a TourThe slow-paced island isn't exactly a mecca of things to do, but the tours help really round out the experience. The one motorized tour is the Lands and Legacies tour and aims to give visitors an experience that allows them to see both cultural and natural landmarks, lasting a full day.
If you prefer to walk or see the island at your own pace, the Footsteps Tour is a 1.5-mile walking tour led by park rangers that takes you to the Dungeness Ruins and offers a robust history.

2. First African Baptist ChurchA humble chapel that has no electricity was actually the exact location the two tied the knot. In a recent exclusive interview with Parade, Rosemarie Terenzio, JFK Jr.'s executive assistant and one of his closest friends, divulged that he insisted they get married there for a very personal reason.
Apparently, when his uncle Bobby Kennedy was shot, the church's deacon raced to tell the island, and they gathered in that church for a service for him. He was so moved that he insisted on having the ceremony there despite the lack of electricity and seating for their 35 guests.
It was established in 1893 and served as a place of worship and community center. You cannot just mosey up to it, thoughâyou need to see it through the Lands and Legacies tour, which takes you to all the island's finest sites.
3. Southend LoopThis hiking trail spans 4.3 miles and is the best way to see all the island's iconic scenery. It winds alongside the waterfront, where you can spot native birds or even dolphins.
Many visitors love to rent bikes and explore the island that way. You'll need to do some prep, though, and arrange a rental from Camden Bicycle Center, as on-island bike rentals are not a thing.
4. Dungeness RuinsWalking through these ruins will give you a glimpse of what life was like in 1884. The Carnegie Dungeness mansion burned in the 1950s, but the ruins are frequently visited by the wild horses that roam the island.
5. Beach DayThe 18 miles of pristine beach are comfortably swimmable from April through September. It's perfect for relaxing or picnicking, and collecting shells, driftwood, sand dollars, and more along the shore.
6. Plum Orchard MansionThis stunning mansion was built by Lucy Carnegie for her son George and his wife Margaret Thaw in 1898. You can tour the historic buildingâwhich was donated to the National Park Service in the 1970sâdaily as part of the Lands and Legacies tour.
7. Stay at the Greyfield InnThe only accommodations on the island are at the Greyfield Inn, an all-inclusive stay on the remote island. It really is for a person looking to totally unplug.
There, you can have your three meals a day and pay extra for any bar and wine services. The evening dinners are more formal, so make sure to pack nice evening wear.
It also happens to be where JFK Jr. and Carolyn Bessette had their intimate wedding reception. The inn still offers wedding services for anyone interested.
Overall, the remote and stunning island is made for a slow-paced experience. If you truly need to unplug, this is the weekend trip for you.

Guy Fieri Shares the Time Bobby Flay Roasted His Signature Style
Food Network star Guy Fieri has a trademark style that works for him, and he's never been one to hold back. In a recent podcast appearance, the Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives star recalled one of his colleagues giving him a bit of a hard time on his flamboyant style. That colleague was Bobby Flay, and the story prompted some chuckles as he shared it.
During an appearance on Elvis Duran and the Morning Show on March 4, Fieri recalled something Flay said to him years ago. Upon noticing the chef's signature style, Fieri recalled that Flay asked, "So, are you a chef or a jeweler?"
Everybody on the show agreed that sounded just like something that Flay would say, and one person joked that it was a "fair question."
View this post on InstagramNot long ago, Fieri revealed on the show, he had an opportunity to turn the tables on Flay. During a luncheon hosted by Flay, Fieri noted his counterpart was wearing "a big gold chain."
Fieri noted, "I've never seen Bobby ever wear jewelry and I said, I just had to say it, 'Bobby, let me ask a question, 'Now, are you a chef or are you a jeweler?'"
Flay took the comment like a champ, apparently telling Fieri he "deserved that one."
Fieri shared during the podcast that it's always been "my mantra" not to worry about "anybody else's design or expectation." That philosophy came, in part, from Fieri's father, who gave him some key advice early in his career.
His father, who he considered his mentor and "my coach in life," told him "Just go be you." That moment came as Fieri was just embarking on the career Food Network fans know him for today. He pointed out that, especially at the time he was beginning with the Food Network, nobody else had a style like his.
Fieri recalled needing to fly to New York to do his first show. He'd never been to New York before, and he was anxious about leaving because his wife was eight months pregnant with their second son. The day he needed to leave happened to be his dad's birthday, and Fieri remembers admitting to his dad he was quite nervous about the trip.
In addition to his dad telling him to just be himself, Fieri recalled that his father told him, "Don't be anybody that you're not. Don't, as soon as they ask you to do something that's not you, don't do it. Just stay true to who you are."
Fieri has stuck with that advice all these years, meaning he's held onto his style that includes spiky blonde hair, jewelry, and tattoos.
Daisy Edgar-Jones Is Cast in Movie Adaptation of Fan-Favorite 2022 Novel
Daisy Edgar-Jones is set to star in the film adaptation of another best-selling novel.
After already starring in the screen iterations of Delia Owens's Where the Crawdads Sing and Sally Rooney's Normal People, Edgar-Jones is now set to play the lead role in the upcoming film adaptation of Gabrielle Zevin's 2022 novel, Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow.
According to Deadline, Edgar-Jones is in "final negotiations" to star in the new film, which will be directed by Oscar-winning CODA filmmaker, SiĂąn Heder. Heder will also be writing the screenplay based on drafts by Mark Bomback and Zevin herself.
Edgar-Jones, 27, will star in the new movie as Sadie Green, who reunites with a childhood friend as adults to create video games together. The role of her friend, Sam Masur, has not yet been cast.

It also won the Goodreads Choice Award for fiction in 2022, and was even ranked at No. 76 on the New York Times List of the 100 Best Books of the 21st Century.
As for Edgar-Jones, she is no stranger to bringing literary characters to the big screen, after already having done so with a number of roles, including her portrayal of Kya Clark in the 2022 movie version of Where the Crawdads Sing and Marianne Sheridan in the 2020 BBC/Hulu series, Normal People.
Additionally, Edgar-Jones also starred in the 2024 film adaptation of Shannon Pufahl's novel On Swift Horses, as well as the new film adaptation of Jane Austen's 1811 novel Sense and Sensibility, slated for release later this fall.

Alysa Liu Says Most People Say Her Name WrongâHereâs the Right Way
Alysa Liu has been making headlines around the world after her standout performances at the 2026 Olympics. But thereâs one small detail many fans have been getting wrong: how to say her name.
During an interview with Newsweek shared on Thursday, March 5, the 20-year-old ice skating champion cleared up the confusion, revealing that even she understands why people sometimes struggle to pronounce it.
âMy name is Alisa Liu,â she said, carefully pronouncing it âah-lee-sa leeoh,â with her last name notably being one syllable.
View this post on InstagramThe explanation came after she was asked about the many different ways broadcasters and fans have said her name throughout her rise in figure skating. According to Liu, there are actually a few variations depending on whoâs saying it.
READ MORE: Is Olympic Star Alysa Liu Dating? Her Answer Might Surprise You
âYeah, so technically this is how my family says my name,â she explained. âThat's technically how you say my name, but Alyssa (pronounced uh-LISS-uh) is how my friends call me, and that's how the world calls me.â
Her last name is where the confusion tends to show up most often. âAnd then my last name, a lot of people say Liu (pronouncing it lee-ou with two syllables)â she said. âI personally don't care because technically the right way is Liu (leeoh, one syllable), but that can be hard to annunciate"
She added that she doesnât expect everyone to get it right. âYeah, I don't expect people to know how to say that.â

However fans say it, Liu has certainly made sure the world knows who she is. Earlier this year, she delivered one of the most memorable performances of the Winter Olympics in Milan, capturing the gold medal in womenâs singles. The victory made her the first American woman to win Olympic singles gold since Sarah Hughes in 2002.
The moment was almost surreal for Liu herself. Shortly after the win, she admitted she was still processing the achievement. âI literally canât process this,â she said after the event.
Heading into the free skate in third place, Liu stunned the crowd at the Milano Ice Skating Arena with a confident, high-energy routine that pushed her to the top of the leaderboard. âThe feelings I felt out there were calm, happy, and confident,â she later reflected.
Her individual title came just days after helping Team USA secure gold in the team eventâalthough the medal itself didnât quite survive the celebration. Liu joked that while jumping up and down afterward, it slipped off the ribbon and ended up scratched and dented.Â
Award-Winning Filmmaker Celebrates Longtime SNL Creator Upon Trailer Release
If anyone has been interested in the life of Saturday Night Live's showrunner, creator and executive producer, well, they are in luck.
The trailer for a documentary created and directed by Academy Award winner Morgan Neville, following Lorne Michaels and his career, was released on Thursday via Focus Features. Lorne will be out in theaters on April 17.
Michaels, 81, is a Canadian-American producer best known for creating SNL and the executive producer of the Late Night series and TheTonight Show since 2014. As the producer for SNL since its premiere in 1975 (minus when he took a five-year break in the 1980s), he has received 24 Primetime Emmy Awards from 112 nominations, holding the record as the most nominated individual in the award show's history.
SNL is currently in the middle of its 51st season, and celebrated its 50th anniversary on Valentine's Day weekend last year.

The trailer that was posted on X showed snippets of old SNL sketches, along with clips of Michaels sitting down for the rare interview. In addition, many former SNL cast members, friends of the producer and comedians were featured, including Paul Simon, Kristen Wiig, Tina Fey, Seth Meyers, Colin Jost, Conan O'Brien and Steve Martin.
The untold story of the legend behind the legends.

Micheals was born and raised in Toronto, Canada, and graduated with a degree in English from the University of Toronto in 1966. He started his career as a writer and broadcaster for CBC Radio before moving to Los Angeles with Hart Pomerantz to work as writers for Rowan & Martin's Laugh-In and The Beautiful Phyllis Diller Show. Two years later, they returned to Canada to star in The Hart and Lorne Terrific Hour, a series of comedy specials that ran on CBC.
In 1973, Michaels returned to the United States to write for The Burns and Schreiber Comedy Hour. His work there earned him his first Emmy Award and drew the attention of Lily Tomlin, which eventually led to his hiring by NBC to create Saturday Night Live 51 years ago.
Along with the help of Pomerantz, fellow NBC employee Dick Ebersol and president of the network Herb Schlosser, Michaels debuted Saturday Night on Oct. 11, 1975, with host George Carlin and musical guests Billy Preston and Janis Ian. The name was changed to Saturday Night Live by 1977. The show, performed live in front of an audience at 30 Rockefeller's Studio 8H in New York City, immediately established its reputation as unpredictable and became a vehicle for launching the careers of some of the most successful comedians.

Lorne is not the first attempt to tell the producer's story. Jason Reitman's movie Saturday Night, followed Michaels (Gabriel LaBelle) the night of the show's premiere in October 1975. The film had a limited theatrical run on Sept. 27, 2024, before its wide release by Sony Pictures on October 11, the 49th anniversary of SNL's premiere.
Michaels has so far not commented on Reitman's film, but some original cast members, like Laraine Newman, talked about their thoughts on Saturday Night. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter back in December 2024, Newman told the publication what actually happened versus what didn't that night in October 1975. Newman was portrayed by English actress Emily Fairn.
"The whole ice skating thing with John [Belushi] and Gilda [Radner] â that never happened. The fight between John and Chevy [Chase] never happened. However, it is true that John didnât sign his contract until the last minute!" Newman recalled. "But I understand. I love Jason Reitman, and heâs so talented."
Laraine Newman attends SNL50: The Anniversary Special on February 16, 2025, at 30 Rockefeller Center in New York City.Lorne will be out in theaters this spring on April 17. Fans can watch the trailer for Neville's documentary here.
A new episode of SNL will air this Saturday at 11:30 pm ET on NBC and Peacock, with Ryan Gosling as a host and Gorillaz as the musical guest.

Reese Witherspoon's Cult Classic Teen Romance Premiered 27 Years Ago Today
Cult classic movies often become fan favorites years after their initial release, and the 1999 film Cruel Intentions celebrated another anniversary, having premiered 27 years ago to the day. Ryan Phillippe, Sarah Michelle Gellar,Reese Witherspoon, and Selma Blair cemented themselves in the Hollywood spotlight with the teen romance drama.
In the late 90s, Phillipe and Gellar were already at the forefront of their careers, having both starred in the horror classic I Know What You Did Last Summer, and Gellar starring in Scream 2, All My Children, and the infamous Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Blair and Witherspoon were still up-and-coming actors, with Witherspoon having gotten recognition for her role in Fear a few years before.
Cruel Intentions is a modern retelling of Pierre Choderlos de Laclos' 1782 novel Les Liaisons dangereuses, and was set in New York City among the elite and high schoolers. It started as an independent film, with the cast receiving praise and making $75 million at the box office.

It focuses on wealthy teenager Sebastian Valmont (Phillippe), who's notorious for secuding woman for her own personal amusement. He sets his sights on the daughter of his new school headmaster and makes a bet with his stepsister. If he loses, she gets his vintage Jaguar, and if he wins, he finally gets to sleep with his stepsister. The film soon creates a manipulative story that turns a bet into unexpected true love.
Among critics, Cruel Intentions received mixed reviews, but its future cult classic status led it spawn a media franchise. A prequel was released in 2000, and later a standalone sequel in 2004. In 2015, a jukebox musical was developed, and an Amazon TV series was developed in 2024.
The movie also became known for Witherspoon and Phillipe having already been dating during the filming of the movie. They met in 1997 at her 21st birthday party, married in 1999, and divorced in 2006.
Burned Out? A New Survey Says Visiting Spain Is Basically Medicinal
According to a new report on wellness tourism, Spain has emerged as the top destination for travelers seeking a rejuvenating retreat this year. With burnout rates on the rise across all corners of the globe, more people are prioritizing trips that focus on self-care and holistic healing.
Research conducted by the supplements brand Ben's Natural Health examined over 40 countries, evaluating six key factors: the number of retreats, digital detox resorts, and sauna facilities in each country, as well as hotel costs, week-long retreat prices, and safety. By comparing these indicators, researchers identified which countries provide optimal conditions for wellness tourism.
Overall, Spain achieved a Restorative Travel Index score of 80.8, a measure combining its impressive wellness infrastructure, accessible pricing, and general safety.
Spain offers 621 retreats centered on yoga, meditation, and holistic healing practices. These retreats cater to those looking to restore their physical and mental health, providing a wide range of experiences from guided meditation sessions, sound baths, and spa treatments to nutrition-focused programs and movement therapies.
For those seeking digital detox, Spain offers 75 dedicated resorts where guests can unplug entirely, fostering a deeper sense of presence and purpose. The country's sauna culture further enhances its appeal, with roughly 350,000 facilities providing travelers with the opportunity to unwind and detoxify.
Cost is also a factor that makes Spain highly attractive to wellness-minded travelers. A typical seven-day wellness retreat costs around $1,400, which strikes a balance between high-quality offerings and reasonable pricing. It's the second most cost-friendly destination on the list's top 10, behind only India ($940, on average) and just below (but pretty on par with) its neighbor, Portugal ($1.43k, on average). Meanwhile, Spain's safety rating of 62.4 is sufficient to ensure travelers feel secure while exploring the country's diverse regions.
Among some of the most popular regions for a retreat in Spain is AndalucĂa, particularly the Costa de la Luz and Costa del Solâfrom Cadiz and Conil de la Frontera to Tarifa and Malaga. This area is world-renowned for its long, pristine beaches, perfect for yoga in the sand and mindful morning walks. Retreats here often combine surf lessons or horseback riding with meditation, breathwork, and holistic nutrition workshops, allowing visitors to recharge both mind and body while enjoying the warm, relaxed Andalusian vibe. Local wellness centers also offer immersive programs in mindful movement, such as through sensual bachata or flamenco-inspired dance therapy, both of which hail from the south of Spain.
Heading north, the Basque Country and Cantabria regions provide a completely different wellness experience. Surrounded by lush green mountains and rugged coastlines, retreats in cities like San SebastiĂĄn and towns like Santander focus on nature-based healing. Guests can explore guided forest walks, thermal spa treatments, and mindfulness retreats overlooking the Bay of Biscay. Northern Spain is ideal for travelers seeking restorative travel in cooler climates, with wellness programs that emphasize hiking and digital detoxing in serene natural surroundings.
Across Spain, diverse regions illustrate the country's versatility in wellness tourism. Whether you prefer the sun-drenched sands of the south, the forested tranquility of the north, or the coastal charm of the east, there's a retreat to suit every type of restorative traveler.
Its abundanceâcombined with its modern wellness amenities, easier-on-the-wallet pricing, and overall sense of calmâmakes Spain well-positioned as the premier choice for travelers prioritizing health and wellness in 2026.

One fan chimed in to call the jacket "stylish," noting it's made with "good material" as well. "I had no trucker jacket, so I was looking for one. I considered other brands, but Uniqlo has it. So why not?"

Fresh from Taco Bell's Live MĂĄs Live showcase, the new dessert arrives as a twi-pack priced at $2.99. For that price, you get a duo of empanadas: one with a traditional crust filled with salted caramel and another with a chocolate-flavored crust packed with chocolate fudge.
The limited-time dessert will join Taco Bell's Luxe Value Menu beginning March 19, positioning it as an affordable sweet treat alongside the brand's savory lineup. The launch is also tied to the broader Live MĂĄs Live 2026 event, which highlights new menu innovations expected to roll out throughout the year.
Why the Buzz?Part of the excitement surrounding the new dessert comes from nostalgia. The Caramel Apple Empanada may be gone, but many Taco Bell fans still remember it fondlyâand any empanada-style pastry inevitably invites comparisons.
This new version leans more into dessert territory with chocolate fudge and salted caramel fillings, but the familiar crispy shell is clearly meant to tap into that same handheld pastry appeal.
Naturally, I had to see how they stacked up.

I Tried Taco Bell's New Chocolate Fudge and Caramel EmpanadasJim Hoffman
When I first opened the bag to reveal the two empanadas, the first thing I noticed was the size. They're about three inches longâbigger than bite-size but not by much. However, at $2.99 for two, you can certainly do a lot worse.
Biting into the Chocolate Fudge Empanada, the crust delivered a satisfying crunch. Inside, the filling had a texture reminiscent of molten lava cake with a creamy, almost Nutella-like consistency (minus the hazelnut flavor). The chocolate-flavored pastry itself carried just a subtle cocoa note and wasn't overly sweet, which I personally didn't mind, since it let the filling do most of the heavy lifting. Overall, I enjoyed it and thought it would pair nicely with a hot coffee instead of a sugary soda.
Jim Hoffman
The salted caramel empanada comes wrapped in a more traditional pastry shell. I expected the crust itself to be sweetened, but if it was, the sweetness was very subtle. The caramel filling, however, delivers a sweeter bite than its chocolate counterpart, and it carries just enough saltiness to add a bit of depth.
While neither empanada turned out to be quite the sugar bomb I initially expected, they were still sweet enough to feel like a proper dessert. In fact, they made a nice finish to the Diablo sauceâladen burrito I had just polished off. At $2.99 for the pairâone chocolate fudge and one salted caramelâit's hard to argue with the value. The only thing missing, in my opinion, was a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
My Honest Thoughts About Taco Bell's Chocolate Fudge and Caramel EmpanadasTaken together, Taco Bell's new Chocolate Fudge and Caramel Empanadas are a fun addition to the dessert lineup, even if they don't quite reach the cult status of the retired Caramel Apple Empanada. The chocolate version stands out for its rich, brownieâbatterâlike filling, while the caramel pastry delivers a sweeter bite with a touch of salt for balance.
One surprise, though, was the lack of sweetness in the outer shell. I feel like it was a missed opportunity not to sprinkle the caramel version with Taco Bell's signature cinnamon-sugar coatingâand maybe even a dusting of powdered sugar to enhance the chocolate pastry. That kind of warm, sweet finish feels like it would have been a natural fit and might have pushed the flavor a step further. Still, at $2.99 for the pair, they're an enjoyable, affordable treatâespecially if you're already stopping by Taco Bell for your usual order.

1971 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 55 Years Ago Today
In 1971, Charley Pride added another chart-topping success to his already remarkable run in country music.
His single, "I'd Rather Love You," climbed to the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot Country Singles chart, continuing a streak that helped make Pride one of the genre's biggest stars during the late 1960s and early 1970s.
Released as the title track from his then forthcoming album I'm Just Me, the song showcased his smooth, deep voice and emotional storytelling style. The ballad, written by songwriter Johnny Duncan, shares a simple but meaningful message about choosing love, even if it means risking heartbreak.
By the time the song reached the top of the charts, Pride had already established himself as one of country music's most influential voices. Starting with his breakout hit, "Just Between You and Me," in the mid-1960s, he went on to record dozens of chart-topping hits, making him one of the best-selling country artists of the era.
Pride's success was particularly groundbreaking in a time when there were very few Black performers in mainstream country music. He broke down barriers with his long run of hit songs and gained a massive following across the country.
"A lot of people will say, 'How does it feel to be the Jackie Robinson of country music?' Or, 'How does it feel to be the first colored country singer?' 'How does it feel to be the first Negro country singer?' ⊠I don't feel no different," said Pride in a 2016 interview.
"What I believe is that with the success of Jackie Robinsonâ and my career was right smack-dab in the middle of the Civil Rights Movement, with Martin Luther King Jr. and all that ⊠The difference with Jackie Robinson and Charley Pride is, he was specifically picked to do what he basically did, to break the barriers ⊠I'm here by choice. Nobody sat me down and said, 'Go sing country music.' I'm here by choice, and there is a difference ⊠When I walked on that stage, they didn't care if I was green. That's what I believe, [and] I think it worked."
"I'd Rather Love You" became one of a total of 29 chart-topping singles over the course of his decades-long career. In 2000, Pride was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame, an achievement that acknowledged him as one of the pioneers of the genre.

"One word?" replied Curtis. "Heart. Like, despite our obvious differences, I'm this zaftig, vulgar slut, and she's this kind of, you know, incredibly beautiful, cool, seemingly delicate waif of a girl, the connective tissue is that we share a very similar heart. We both have two daughters who we've devoted our lives to, and we both have a professional belief in the privilege of this job and the power of being a boss and bringing other people along."

Scott Patterson Breaks Silence on Shocking Exit From 'Sullivan's Crossing'
Sully will not be returning to Sullivan's Crossing.
Fans were shocked after it was revealed that the show's lead, Scott Patterson, would not be returning for season 4 of The CW drama.
Showrunner and executive producer Roma Roth confirmed the shocking news, as Patterson's character left for Ireland with his girlfriend, Helen.
At the time, he promised his daughter Maggie (MorganKohan) that he'd return to Sullivan's Crossing, his home for most of his life, but with Patterson's exit, they'll seemingly use that storyline to write him out of the series entirely.
The series largely centered around Patterson's Sully and the campground that's been in his family for generations, with the small town lifestyle eventually convincing Maggie to move back home and reunite with her father. In addition to Kohan and Patterson, the series also stars Chad Michael Murray.
Patterson's exit left fans confused about the future of the series, but the Gilmore Girls star has now taken to social media to explain his decision.
"Every actor knows what itâs like to fall in love with a character and a story. I fell in love with Sully and have nothing but fondness for him," he began in the Instagram post.
However, he noted that "the creative differences were becoming untenable and I just sadly realized that the show was not something that I could agree to continue."
"Itâs unfortunate that it is now being implied that they moved on from me/Sully when the fact is the complete opposite, and those who sadly already have spoken out are also fully aware of this fact, and yet chose to say otherwise," he wrote.
While he was "not intending to make any statement," he clarified that "fans of the books and the show deserve to know the truth as I have always been respectful of those who support this industry by watching and loving these characters we are so dang lucky and blessed to portray and bring to life."
"I really enjoyed Sully and fought for his voice and his character. The richness and depth of Sully, whom the fans of the books all know and love, is so multi-layered and interesting," he reflected, acknowledging that "fans deserved better than to think the embodiment of this character, me, would just disrespect not only the show, but them. In the end, weâre all fans of these characters and stories, and Iâll always support and defend the truth. ~ Scott"
Fans poured into the comments with supportive messages, as many emphasized that Patterson was the reason they started watching the series in the first place.
"I was looking forward to the new season but absolutely cannot watch if theyâve wronged you. Love you Scott! â€ïž" one wrote, as another noted, "You were the only reason I started watching this show. I wonât be watching the new season now."
Others thanked him for "his integrity."
Sullivan's Crossing seasons 1 through 3 are available to stream on Netflix. Season 4 is set to return to The CW onApril 10.
âModern Familyâ Star Reveals Why He Changed His Mind About Filming a Spinoff
ActorJesse Tyler Ferguson is sharing what led to him ultimately deciding that a Modern Familyspin-off series wasn't for him.
E! News reported that on the March 3 episode of his podcast, Dinner's on Me, Ferguson said that he and Eric Stonestreet, who played husbands Mitchell Pritchett and Cameron "Cam" Tucker, were approached to film a spin-off series following Modern Family's 2020 series finale.
âModern Family ended and then we had a pandemic. I was so excited for this next chapter of my life, and then it was like, âEveryone go inside.â During that time, they were brewing this idea of maybe doing a spin-off with Eric and I, which I was interested in, but I was also supposed to do this play in New York," said Ferguson during the podcast episode.
Ferguson explained that he eventually discovered he was ready to try something completely new and not tied to his Modern Family character.
âAs the reality of maybe the spinoff was actually going to happen, I literally felt like, âOh my God, I want to date other people.' Is what I felt like. I have to feel what itâs like to not do that. It didnât end up working out," stated Ferguson while recording his podcast.
Jesse Tyler Ferguson Revealed He Auditioned for Cameron TuckerFerguson began starring as Mitchell on Modern Family during the ABCsitcom's first season, which premiered in 2009. The actor shared, however, that he had originally auditioned for the role of Cam in a 2024 interview on The Great Creators with Guy Raz. Ferguson clarified that he was always drawn to Mitchell, but the show's casting department had only wanted "to see [him] for the role of Cam." Ferguson explained that he wasn't overly interested in playing Cam because it "just felt like a role [he had] kind of done before."
He said when he auditioned for Cam, he decided to read the part as if he were playing Mitchell, who is more grounded and sarcastic than his husband. Ferguson said his decision made the creators of Modern Family, Christopher Lloyd and Steven Levitan, realize he was the right choice for Mitchell.
âThe Brady Bunchâ Star Maureen McCormick Shares Tender Moment With Brother
The Brady Bunch alum Maureen McCormick recently took to social media to show a sweet moment she shared with her brother that had fans swooning.
McCormick, 69, spent time with her older brother, Denny McCormick, 74, and she posted a short video capturing the darling interaction on her Instagram page. In text over the video, McCormick wrote, "Dancing with my best buddy Denny."
Denny has intellectual disabilities, and The Brady Bunch alum has always been a fierce advocate for him and others who live with similar challenges.
The short video was filmed outdoors on the sidewalk, and Denny had a bag in his hand that seemed to indicate they'd been doing a little shopping. McCormick held her brother's hands and swayed back and forth, and he did a slightly subdued variation of the same.
After a few seconds, McCormick reached out and wrapped her hands around his shoulders, giving him a pat on the back as she continued to sway. As the video ended, McCormick lovingly cradled Denny's head with one hand.
View this post on Instagram"Such love," commented fellow entertainer Sharon Lawrence.
Holly Robinson Peete, who has been a friend and fellow advocate for people with special challenges for years, commented with a string of red-heart emojis.

Another concurred, "Definitely put a smile on my face today. There is no better love than that between a sister and brother and to see the two of you just dancing together. It just brings joy to all our hearts."
Someone else added, "Your love is pure, it's beautiful and you give it plentiful! You 2 are so cute together too!"
An additional response from a fan read, "You are truly such a beautiful gift to each other!!! The world would be a better place if more people could care like you do!"
'The Pitt' Star Shawn Hatosy Reacts to âMohabbotâ Shipping After That Vulnerable Scene (Exclusive)
It was always going to be a matter when, not if, we'd see Dr. Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) back on our screens. After all, while the night shift attending only appeared in a handful of episodes on the first season of The Pitt, they made a large impression. In fact, the 50-year-old wound up winning an Emmy for his work on the HBO Max medical drama.
But there wasn't a lot of time to bask in the victory glow. As Hatosy reveals, the cast and crew jumped back into production right after the Emmys. And it just so happened they picked up with Episode 7, when Abbot makes his return appearance. Surprisingly, he moonlights (or daylights) as a SWAT paramedic during the day, getting caught in the firefight of an attempted robbery. The carnage brings him back into work, where he's treated by Dr. Mohan (Supriya Ganesh). The scene of her patching up his back has gone viral since photos first released, fanning the flames of those passionate "Mohabbot" shippers.
Ahead of tonight's episode of The Pitt (which Hatosy directs), he spoke with Parade about his reaction to Abbot's return to the series.
First, I must belatedly congratulate you on the Emmy win! What was it like to receive such an honor for your role in The Pitt?
The whole process was so wild. I just don't think that something like this could happen. And if I go back to when I looked at the first episode of The Pitt, I didn't know where this was going. I mean, I had some idea, but I didn't know what effect or importance Abbot's role would have. I just wasn't aware. And so as the season ended, and there was all this attention.
And then that conversation around awards came into my life. And I was like, "There's just no way. I'm not going to think about that because it's just impossible." And then the nominations came out, and I was so excited. I was so proud. And even though you're sitting there thinking, "This is not something I want," hen when it becomes reachable, you're like, "Well, now I kind of do!" And then you start to judge yourself.
It was exciting to be there at the Creative Arts Emmys, in front of so many people I respect, and the crew that I worked on the show. It was a grueling, three hour ceremony. I'm not gonna lie.
You've been in more grueling environments!
[Laughs.] Because you're sitting there going, "Oh, what if I do win?" It's hard to sit back and just enjoy it. And in many ways, the next weekend, when we went to the Emmys, the pressure was really off. And so I could just sit back and enjoy Noah and Katherine and then the show [win]. It was nice.
Correct me if I'm wrong here. Did you jump right back into production after you won the Emmy?
Correct. Right away. I believe the day after the Primetime Emmys we started, or we were in the midst of, Episode 7.
Related: Is Dr. Robby Breaking the Law on âThe Pitt?â
Perfect timing, considering that's when Abbot makes his debut on Season 2! Talk to me about how we see him, as a medic for the SWAT team. It certainly made me wonder when this man actually sleeps on a day-to-day basis. What was your reaction when you heard about his day job?
It's funny, because when we were picked up for Season 2, a little time went by. I was waiting to kind of hear what my involvement would be. In many ways, I thought there was a possibility he could be coming back full-time, just particularly with the way it ended. And so then I had a conversation with Scott, and it seemed like Abbot was going to come back in the middle of the season. And I was like, "Is he hurt? Is he on a gurney? Why is he coming in?" And then he explained this SWAT paramedics hobby that he has. As his therapist says, "You need a hobby." And even though he thinks he's doing great work on himself, it's just more of the same. He's not getting away from any chaos.
What did you make of the scene where Mohan patches Abbot up? Have you heard about the popular "Mohabbot" fan shipping?
I like the nuance of the scene. I felt like I was really enjoying that, even though it is on the page, kind of a situation where he's a little vulnerable with his shirt off. We played it as very nuanced and let the audience kind of enjoy the relationship without pushing too hard and leaning into it. She is in a very tough spot, you know, and he knows that she cares deeply about her patients. So there's this thing happening, and then he's also that moment when he misinterprets her, saying sorry. He's like, "No, don't worry about me." And she could care less about him. All she really cares about is the patient. So I thought it was a good scene.
And we see that Abbot then follows it up by offering to pay for all of Orlando's medical supplies for his diabetes to be Ubered to him. It's an interesting perspective into a relationship we know very little about, considering the way The Pitt is made make them feel like two ships passing in the night.
Very much. And it was cool too, because as we leave and then we're in the next scene. We were like, "What are we doing out here?" And I thought, "Well, maybe he orders the Uber." And they didn't show it, but I was carrying the bag of stuff, and I actually walked out with it too try to tell that story. I did notice online that people noticed us in the background, kind of on the phone and interacting.
