It’s time to rejoice because winter’s almost over, and we can finally spend time outdoors again! Whether the harsh winter weather has done numbers on your porch, or you want to get some new decor to give your patio a refresh, a solar wind chime is an effortless way to instantly liven up your space. If that sounds like something you need to add to your home ASAP, this Rirool Solar Wind Chime at Walmart is definitely worth checking out.

Right now, you can score this solar wind chime for less than $25! Normally retailing for $30, it’s now on sale for just $20. It's available in five gorgeous celestial designs and one playful style featuring a flamingo. The celestial windchimes include a crescent moon, a moon castle, a moon fairy, a star, and a sun. Shoppers said that they love these pieces so much that they have multiple designs displayed on their front porch.

Each wind chime features ornate scrollwork and geometric cutouts all around. While the cutouts act as decorative accents, they also allow the light to pass through and cast shadows that feel dreamy and magical. These decorative sculptures boast a crackle glass orb with an LED lightbulb inside. The orb has a yellow tone, giving the light a warm amber hue to create a cozy and inviting atmosphere.

One reviewer described this windchime as “fun” and said that “the golden glow of the sphere is perfect.” A second noted that “it creates a beautiful ambiance” on their patio.

An environmentally-friendly choice, the light is powered by solar energy. A solar panel sits between the sculpture and the wind chime and charges during the day. Once it's dark outside, the light automatically turns on and stays lit for up to 10 hours after a full charge. You can keep this piece up year-round, as it has an IP65 waterproof rating, which means that it can withstand extreme temperatures, including wind and rain.

The lower part of this piece features a wind chime with five hollow metal tubes and a diamond pendant. Once the breeze hits it, it’ll emit melodic chimes that can set the perfect ambiance for unwinding and relaxing. Rather than spending nights on your porch or patio in silence, you’ll have the magical twinkling chimes as background noise. “These chimes not only sound lovely, but they also look lovely,” another reviewer raved.

Jennifer Runyon’s Life and Legacy Celebrated by Longtime 'Charles in Charge' Friend

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 6:04pm

A former colleague of beloved entertainer Jennifer Runyon shared a sweet tribute to her on social media after news of her death went public. Willie Aames, who starred with Runyon on the iconic show Charles in Charge, posted about her on Facebook on March 8.

"Well... it seems the horrible news is out... thank you for all your messages," Aames' post caption began.

Aames included several photos in his post he felt "perfectly sums up our relationship."

The Charles in Charge alum explained, "Jenn was more than a friend. She was my dear dear friend, muse, and encourager. We shared family Christmas's together, vacations, weekends, lunches and dinners together."

He added that they did shows together, as well. "But most of all- we LAUGHED. That was Jenn- even up until her last weeks," Aames revealed.

Aames then shared touching thoughts directed toward Runyon herself. "Jenn: you were my rock. Watching you slip away these last few months was one of the hardest times of my life... I can still hear your voice so clearly," Aames wrote.

He noted that nobody would ever be able to fill "the massive hole that's been left in our hearts... ever." Aames expressed that her marriage was an inspiration to both him and his wife, Winnie Hung.

The actor also noted that it hurts terribly that the world has now lost "a truly beautiful soul." He added that their love goes to Runyon's husband, Todd Corman, and their children.

Aames and Runyon had remained so close all these years later that they even had "daily coffee chats," he wrote.

"One thing I am certain of - we will never forget the joy and kindness you brought into our lives. To say you were generous is a gross understatement," Aames declared.

Several of the photos that Aames included in his Facebook post appeared to have been taken in recent years. One, however, was a still shot from the two during their Charles in Charge days.

Runyon appeared as a love interest for Scott Baio's character of Charles named Gwendolyn Pierce. Aames played Charles' friend, Buddy Lembeck.

When the Charles in Charge cast reunited in 2019, Runyon was pulled back into the group. Though she only appeared in a handful of episodes of the show, the tight bond she formed with Aames lasted decades.

You might not be familiar with Patti Jinich, but you definitely should be. The former political analyst turned three-time James Beard Award-winning host of PBS television series Pati's Mexican Table, and the PBS primetime docuseries La Frontera, has been helping educate people about the vast world of Mexican food for nearly two decades. Her show uses food as a vehicle to immerse viewers in Mexico's rich history and culture. You can catch it on Amazon Prime with a subscription or PBS for free.

2. Global Soul Kitchen (Tubi)

Chef Deborah VanTrece knows a thing or two about soul food, but instead of sticking to the dishes we've come to know and love, she combines them with global influences. Highlights include her luscious duck schnitzel with sweet potato waffles and a Deep South bouillabaisse. You can catch Global Soul Kitchen on Hulu and Tubi.

3. Christopher Kimball's Milk Street (Tubi)

Not that he needs an introduction, but Chris Kimball, one of the founders of America's Test Kitchen and Cook's Country, has been influencing the way we cook for years. His dedication to learning techniques and then taking them to their nth degree has helped create a generation of home cooks that can turn out dishes worthy of having a place on a restaurant menu. In addition to his podcast, restaurant and cooking classes, you can check out Christopher Kimball's Milk Street on Tubi or follow along on YouTube.

4. Cooked (Netflix)

This isn't necessarily a new show, but if you've never seen it, it's definitely worth adding to your list. Based on the book of the same name, Cooked follows author Michael Pollan as he explores food past and present through the lens of the four elements—fire, earth, air and water. It's deeply insightful and visually interesting enough to binge over the weekend.

5. Salt Fat Acid Heat (Netflix)

Samin Nosrat loves food. You can tell by the way she talks about it and just how excited she gets when she tries 40-month-old red cow Parmesan. A great dish for Samin must have salt, fat, acid, and heat, and she explores each one over the four-episode docuseries. You can stream them all on Netflix, and make sure to grab a copy of her book by the same name to follow along.

6. Alton Brown Cooks Food (YouTube)

Although you won't find Alton Brown on Food Network anymore, the geeky chef known for teaching us all the science behind the Maillard reaction on Good Eats spends his time these days cooking up mouthwatering dishes on YouTube. Alton Brown Cooks Food features the host doing what he does best from the comfort of home, and you can follow along each week as he tackles things like making booze, tackles breakfast noodles and prepares a standing rib roast.

7. America's Culinary Cup (Paramount+)

When culinary icon Padma Lakshmi announced that she'd be gracing our screens again as the host of yet another cooking competition, we could almost feel the Earth shift on its axis. Although America's Culinary Cup just premiered on March 4, the groundbreaking culinary competition has already generated glowing reviews from fans who have tuned in for the first episode. It might be similar to (and directly competing with) Top Chef, but this new series is anything but. And did we mention the cash prize is set at a whopping $1 million? We can't wait to see what unfolds. You can catch the new show on Wednesdays at 9:30 pm on Paramount+.

8. Top Chef (Peacock)

As far as culinary competitions go, there isn't one more iconic than Top Chef. It's the proving ground for scrappy chefs who have something to prove, and it makes for some really great TV. Each season, a new lineup of chefs from across the country competes more for bragging rights than anything else, and they do it with an excessive amount of style. This season, the cheftestants are headed to the Carolinas, and you can follow along on Peacock.

9. Wildcard Kitchen (HBO Max)

Every now and then, a show comes along that completely challenges the formula we've come to expect from a cooking show, and Wildcard Kitchen does exactly that. It feels like being a fly on the wall, watching chefs in their natural habitat. The premise is simple. Each chef gets a certain amount of cash and can use that cash to bet on their odds of winning a round. The catch is that their fate lies in a deck of cards that can either help or hurt them in wild and wacky ways. It's one of the most exciting shows we've seen in a long time. Season 3 is streaming now on HBO Max.

10. Next Level Chef (Hulu)

Among the crowded field of gimmicky cooking competitions, Next Level Chef stands out for its endless innovation. The formula just works. Cooks are given the chance to cook in one of three kitchens, each equipped according to their position, with the basement being the worst and the top level being the creme de la creme. A moving platform with themed ingredients descends to each kitchen, and contestants have seconds to grab as many ingredients as they can to make a restaurant-quality dish. It's chaos in the best way, and we can't get enough. You can watch the newest season now on Hulu.

11. Next Gen Chef (Netflix)

Although there's only one season so far, Next Gen Chef has generated a dedicated fan base thanks to an endearing format that makes you cheer for the underdog. Up-and-coming young chefs, either fresh out of culinary school or working in a restaurant, showcase their skills for a panel of judges in hopes of being named the next big thing and winning the prize of $500,000. It's the perfect show to binge on the weekend. Follow along on Netflix.

12. Tournament of Champions (HBO Max)

Odds are you're already well aware that Tournament of Champions is one of the greatest shows on television, but if you're not, you should definitely add it to your list. It's like if rock and roll were a cooking show instead of a music genre. Guy Fieri is at his peak despite this being one of several competition shows he hosts, and it doesn't hurt that the contestants are among the culinary world's most decorated chefs.

13. Pressure Cooker (Netflix)

As someone who made it through every episode of Pressure Cooker in one day, we didn't talk about this show enough. It's a masterpiece of culinary television. Eleven chefs competing for $100,000, all living under one roof, essentially conduct the competition themselves. They are the contestants as well as the judges, and the setup makes for some pretty dramatic cliffhangers. You'll never be able to tell where the show is going, and that's what makes it amazing. Here's hoping Netflix renews it for a second season.

14. School of Chocolate (Netflix)

Although you might not know his name, you've definitely seen one of Amaury Guichon's breathtaking chocolate creations on social media. He's a magician with chocolate, and his creations are truly mind-boggling. His Netflix show, School of Chocolate, gives aspiring chocolatiers a chance to learn his secrets and compete for a life-changing prize package that includes a $50,000 cash prize.

15. Culinary Class Wars (Netflix)

Culinary Class Wars is one of those shows that might seem unassuming at first, but once you get into it, you can't stop watching. It's a showcase of culinary expertise where chefs display mind-boggling techniques to create dishes that truly deserve to be placed in a museum. It's exciting, unpredictable, and well worth the watch. You can stream all of season one and two on Netflix.

16. 24 in 24 (HBO Max)

We never thought we'd see the day that a cooking show would make 24 chefs compete in 24 intense challenges across 24 hours without any breaks. It's a culinary gauntlet like no other, and it's definitely not for the weak. 24 in 24 isn't for the faint of heart, and the chef competing clearly has something to prove. Season one and two are streaming on HBO Max, but be warned, you might get addicted.

17. Great British Baking Show (Netflix)

When it comes to feel-good shows, there's nothing more comforting than cozying up and watching The Great British Baking Show. It's a competition, sure, but it's the most polite competition we've ever seen. Not that there isn't some drama, but it usually has more to do with someone's bake not turning out than anything else. Consider this your sign to rewatch it on Netflix.

18. High on the Hog (Netflix)

Watching High on the Hog for the first time felt like coming home. The show, hosted by food writer Stephen Satterfield, traces the origins of African-American cuisine from its roots to today. It's topical and informative, almost like watching an anthropologist work. Although yours truly has seen it several times, it's safe to say we'll be watching it again this weekend. You can check out all episodes on Netflix.

19. The Food That Built America (Hulu)

If your idea of relaxing is nerding out and learning all there is to know about the major brands that have shaped American cuisine, then The Food That Built America is perfect for you. The series produced by National Geographic tells the stories of some of the biggest names in food, including Jack Daniel's, Russel Stover and Folgers. You can catch season six now on Hulu.

20. Somebody Feed Phil (Netflix)

Whenever we're in the mood to escape our reality and tune out all the noise, Somebody Feed Phil is our go-to show to watch. Famed TV writer Phil Rosenthal immerses viewers in places like Tokyo, Boston, Amsterdam and Spain. It's the perfect mix of comedy, reverence and cultural immersion, worth curling up on the couch to watch. Stream all eight seasons now on Netflix.

21. Thirst with Shay Mitchell (HBO Max)

Technically, Thirst with Shay Mitchell is more of a show about drinks, but you can't have drinks without food, and Shay enjoys plenty while she travels across South America to learn all there is to know about the beverages of the region. Whether she's trying an actual guinea pig in Peru or experiencing the nightlife in Argentina, there's plenty of reason to add this show to your watch list. You can check it out on HBO Max.

2010 Historic Classic Ranked Best ‘Survivor’ Season of All Time

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 5:20pm

The airing of Survivor's 50th season has every reality TV fan reflecting on the show's legacy. With over 25 years of iconic moments to look back on, it is nearly impossible to pick the most epic highlights. However, certain seasons stand out as the series' absolute best.

Ahead of the Season 49 premiere, Collider ranked all 48 seasons of the show from worst to best. Beating out both 2014's Cagayan: Brawns vs. Brains vs. Beauty at No. 3 and 2008's Micronesia: Fans vs. Favorites at No. 2, 2010's Heroes vs. Villains took the top spot.

Premiering in February 2010, Heroes vs. Villains mastered the formula for reality TV gold. The season is widely considered to have the best cast in Survivor history, a fact reflected in its high ratings. Upon its initial release, the Season 20's premiere raked in over 14 million viewers—a significant increase from the previous season. Over the course of its run, each episode averaged approximately 13 million viewers and maintained an average 8.3/10 rating.

The season was notable for its high-intensity gameplay and tumultuous interpersonal relationships. The episodes perfectly balanced "old-school" elements, like grueling physical challenges, with "new-school" methods which centered on complex manipulation. The cast was stacked with fan-favorite castaways and powerhouse players like Boston Rob, Parvati, Sandra and Russell Hantz, ensuring the season's enduring relevance.

Despite being released 16 years ago, Heroes vs. Villains perseveres as one of the most memorable seasons in the franchise. Iconic episodes like "Slay Everyone, Trust No One," which saw two castaways injured during the opening challenge, and “Going Down in Flames," where the tribes merged and an idol-heavy tribal council sent J.T. Thomas home, showcased the season's high-stakes nature. These nail-bitting moments and engaging characters helped to solidify Heroes vs. Villains as a historic season.

Jennifer Runyon Replaced an Original ‘Brady Bunch’ Star in 1988 Christmas Movie

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 5:19pm

Jennifer Runyon was best known for her role in the TV series Charles in Charge and the big screen blockbuster Ghostbusters, but the beloved actress was also once a Brady. In 1988, she played Cindy Brady in the highly rated A Very Brady Christmas TV movie.

Runyon died on March 6 at age 65, surrounded by her loved ones, according to TMZ. No cause of death was confirmed, but Runyon’s longtime friend, Bewitched star Erin Murphy, wrote that the actress had battled cancer.

In 1988, fans were surprised to see Runyon in A Very Brady Christmas in the role originated by Susan Olsen in the original Brady Bunchsitcom. Olsen played youngest child, Cindy, from 1969 to 1974 on the ABC sitcom and in a short-lived variety show and Brady Brides spinoff.

All of the other original cast members reunited to reprise their roles in the holiday movie, which aired Dec. 18, 1988, on CBS, including Robert Reed, Florence Henderson, Barry Williams, Maureen McCormick, Christopher Knight, Eve Plumb, and Mike Lookinland.

In a video interview on Nosti’s Nook, Runyon explained that Olsen was unavailable to film the Brady Christmas movie because she was on her honeymoon. “I met with the producers and the director and they hired me,” Runyon explained. “And I don't know anybody who would not want to be a Brady once in their life. So, it was fun.“

She added that there were no hard feelings from Olsen, who jokingly called her "Christmas Cindy."

In the book Brady, Brady, Brady: The Complete Story of The Brady Bunch, producers Sherwood and Lloyd Schwartz explained, “[We had to recast] Cindy for this movie. Susan Olsen, in real life, was getting married at the time of the filming, so she was replaced as Cindy by Jennifer Runyon. Susan also wanted the same amount of money as Maureen and Eve, who now got more money than the other kids since they had starred in the previous The Brady Girls Get Married and The Brady Brides. I couldn’t blame Susan, but if she got equal money, so would Barry, Chris, and Mike, and the budget couldn’t sustain that. Susan chose to have her honeymoon.”

In an interview with cultfilmfreak.com (per MeTV), Olsen praised Runyon for taking on the role of the youngest Brady child, who was in college in the Christmas movie script.

“When I saw 'Cindy' seated at the children's table, I thought 'Better her than me!'“The Brady Bunch alum said of Runyon's appearance in a family dinner scene in the movie. “I think Jennifer is much prettier than I am, so I was OK with her as a replacement,” Olsen added. "She's totally nice and got out of the business to be a mom. I think she's great."

Henderson, who played matriarch Carol Brady in The Brady Bunch, told Arizona Daily Sun that it “felt strange” to reunite with the cast more than a decade after the original series ended.

"The kids are all grown,” she said, per MeTV. “The house has been redecorated. I'm into real estate now. Mike's still an architect. One son's a doctor, one's a race car driver, and one works in an office. Plus, there are three grandchildren. Can you believe that?"

Faith Hill’s Daughter Shares Rare Photo of Reclusive Singer With Sweet Message

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 5:12pm

While country music star Faith Hill is rarely seen out in public these days, her loved ones always make sure to share appreciation for her whenever they can.

On March 8, Hill's youngest daughter with husband Tim McGraw, Audrey, did just that, sharing a rare throwback photo of her mother from 1993 on her Instagram Stories. She added a sweet message praising Hill, writing, "❤️‍🔥 most badass woman I know."

While she didn't say this in her post, Audrey's special tribute could've been in honor of International Women's Day.

The photo Audrey shared was a black-and-white portrait taken of Hill back in 1993 in California. The picture was likely taken as promotional material for the singer's debut album, Take Me as I Am, which was released on Oct. 12, 1993. The album was a major success, and it included the official singles "Wild One," "Piece of My Heart," "But I Will," and "Take Me as I Am."

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 5:00pm

Graham Nash has never been afraid to share his opinion on politics.

Nash, 84, who rose to musical superstardom as a member of the Hollies and Crosby, Stills, & Nash, took to Instagram this weekend to share a scathing post targeting President Donald Trump. While he doesn't refer to Trump by name in the un-embeddable post, it's very clear who he's referring to because he discusses the war in Iran.

"How’s everybody doing? Unbelievable what’s going on here in America. When I think of all the songs that were written back in my day, not just by us in CSN/CSNY but by so many other musicians… blows my mind to be yet again shoved into a war. By a man with multiple deferments so he wouldn’t have to fight himself and put his own life on the line, the way he will now ask so many others to do. Makes me sick," said Nash, who is pictured in the post standing by a closed window, staring off into the distance.

Nash continues, saying that POTUS is "just another power-hungry, greedy, cowardly, racist, misogynistic, hateful, small-minded, empty-headed, petty thug."

"And just like all people like him throughout time he starts battles he’ll never have to finish himself, says and does things he will never be held accountable for," he continued.

Nash concluded his post by saying, "He cares for no one except himself. The best thing we can do is to be the total opposite of him and all the people like him. Keep pushing back. None of this is normal. - G."

The musician went on to say that he knew he was hooked right away, and he’s still in touch with Mitchell to this day.

Pamela Anderson Shares Personal Note on International Women's Day

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 4:55pm

Pamela Anderson is marking International Women’s Day with a touching message about strength, growth, and self-acceptance.

The actress used her skincare brand Sonsie’s social media platform to share a typewriter-style note addressed to women everywhere on Sunday, March 8. The image showed a message tucked inside an envelope, reading: “To every woman... still healing, still dreaming, still growing... you are already enough. Strong, wise, beautiful. With love, always, Pamela.”

The accompanying caption celebrated women across the globe. “today, on International Women’s Day, we celebrate the beauty, strength and individuality of women everywhere 💌,” the brand wrote. “we believe beauty is personal, evolving, and something that belongs entirely to you 💐.”

Anderson’s sons, Brandon and Dylan, showed their support in the comments. Brandon added a shooting star emoji, while Dylan left a star and flower emoji beneath the post.

The message aligns closely with the philosophy Anderson has been adopting in recent years. After decades in the spotlight, the 58-year-old has been open about shifting toward a more natural and intentional way of living.

Speaking on TODAY with Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones in February, Anderson, 58, reflected on how her outlook has evolved over time. “Everyday is a reset. Imperfection is sensual and romantic and I like to live a romantic life. Self care is really important, it’s not just a catch phrase,” she said.

That mindset has also shaped her skincare line, which focuses on simplicity and authenticity rather than complicated routines or unrealistic beauty standards.

Nature, Anderson says, continues to inspire her approach to wellness. One example is her now-viral rhubarb lip balm, which she said was inspired by a childhood memory. “My rhubarb lip balm was inspired by my favorite vegetable—dipped in sugar the way my grandma used to do,” she explained.

James Van Der Beek’s Daughter Gets Brutally Honest About Grief on His Birthday

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 4:53pm

James Van Der Beeks daughter, Emilia Van Der Beek, shared a very brave and brutally honest message about grief on what would have been his 49thbirthday.

Almost a month after the beloved Dawson’s Creek star died following a battle with colorectal cancer, 10-year-old Van Der Beek is opening up about her grief. The young girl asked her mom, Kimberly Van Der Beek, to share a candid video about grief on Instagram, in a message everyone should hear.

“So today is my dad's birthday, and the number one thing for somebody's passing is to talk to them and let your emotions out. If you miss them, you can cry. You can talk to them. I talk to my dad every day, and I start with a sentence, and I say, 'Hi, Dad. I miss you, and I love you so much, and I'll never stop loving you.' And I just tell him about my day, how I'm feeling, and I tell my family how I'm feeling. And I know he can hear me,” she shared.

Van Der Beek went on to share that people need to feel their loved ones in their hearts. She added that she feels her dad is watching over her and that he’s in a good place without any of the pain he was in before he died.

“And just cry. Cry, cry, cry. Be happy they're in a good place. Be sad because you miss them. You can be angry, but don't blame yourself. Blaming yourself, it's not a good strategy for someone's passing,” Van Der Beek expressed.

James’ daughter explained that everyone handles grief differently, whatever kind it is, so no one should tell anyone else how to grieve or feel after a loss. She admitted that people saying they know how she feels isn’t something she likes because they don’t know, and being without her dad is very hard.

Despite the horrible loss she has suffered at such a young age, Van Der Beek believes things happen for a reason, maybe just not when and how people want. It’s something she learned from her father as he was fighting cancer.

“Everything is meant to happen for a reason. Something my dad told me was if this doesn't work out the way he wanted it to and the way we wanted it to, for him living, I still have to believe in miracles. Miracles can still happen, just later on in life. And they'll keep coming. But maybe when you want them to come, they might not,” she stated.

Van Der Beek revealed she was wearing one of her dad’s hats, remarking that she loved it so much because it smelled like her dad.

“I praise my dad. I know that he was a good man. A lot of people loved him, and people prayed for him, and he was loved by many, many parts and many, many people,” Van Der Beek declared.

The young girl ended her message with a huge thank-you to everyone who donated to the GoFundMe for her family in honor of her dad.

James and Kimberly are also parents to daughters Olivia, Annabel, and Gwendolyn, and sons Joshua and Jeremiah.

20 Years Ago, 'Top Chef' Took the Culinary World by Storm

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 4:13pm

On this day 20 years ago, Top Chef premiered on Bravo. Season 1 was filmed in San Francisco, California, and it introduced a new style of reality television that remains popular today.

During the first season of Top Chef, Tom Colicchio and Gail Simmons judged alongside Katie Lee Biegel, who was then Katie Lee Joel. While Padma Lakshmi was a fan favorite judge for much of the show's run, she didn't join Top Chef until Season 2.

In September 2024, SF Gate took a look back at that debut season. At the time, nobody really expected that a "food competition docuseries" would necessarily take off. Of course, now, food-related competition series have flourished and foodie influencers on social media have become incredibly popular.

According to SF Gate, the concept of Top Chef was developed by Magical Elves, the production company behind Project Runway. The company's co-CEO, Casey Kriley, admitted that a big question in developing the show revolved around doing a competition show where "no one can taste the food."

Despite some hesitations, Top Chef was created and the first contestants were cast. Kriley recalled, "I think in the first season, we were much more focused on personality, first and foremost, and cooking second."

The mix of contestants were quite different in Season 1 than what viewers see now in Season 23. The first competitors included a health coach, for example, with and an early eliminated contestant, Ken Lee, was booted not necessarily for his bad food, but for his boorish behavior.

Harold Dieterle won Season 1 of Top Chef. After winning the show in 2006, Dieterle released a cookbook and opened multiple restaurants in New York.

Two of Dieterle's initial restaurants were named Kin Shop and Perilla. However, both closed in late 2015.

In announcing their closures, Dieterle told Eater, "I'm really proud of what we've done. It's all kind of run its course. It's gotten to the point where I'm not having fun and enjoying myself."

He added, "I'm not saying I never want to return to the restaurant business, but right now, I'm feeling a little beat up and tired."

In May 2024, Dieterle returned to the restaurant business by opening Il Totano, but Eater noted it closed just a few months later. The Top Chef winner also had a restaurant called the Marrow before he opened Kin Shop and Perilla.

Dieterle has popped up on the Food Network a few times since winning Top Chef. He was a judge on a handful of episodes of Beat Bobby Flay, and he also appeared on Next Gen Chef in 2025.

Tiffani Faison was the runner-up to Dieterle in Season 1 of Top Chef. Faison has kept very busy in the years since appearing on the Bravo sho developing restaurants, such as Sweet Cheeks Q, Dive Bar, Tenderoni's Pizza, and Bubble Bath.

Faison has also returned reality television several times. She was a contestant on Top Chef Duels in 2014, and she has made appearances on additional seasons of Top Chef. In addition, Faison has frequently appeared on the Guy Fieriseries Tournament of Champions.

Rare 1961 Bikini Photos of Screen Siren Surface Ahead of MoMA Retrospective

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 3:58pm

Marilyn Monroe has re-entered the chat.

A screen siren during Hollywood’s Golden Age, the blonde bombshell is widely considered a peak sex symbol of the 1950s, but also a trailblazer who took control of her image and paved the way for future generations of women to embrace their natural curves on their own terms. Starring alongside A-list greats like Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, Jane Russell, and Betty Grable, Monroe carved out a career critics and fans continue to celebrate today.

In 1962, the starlet passed away, but she's managed to remained the subject of online discourse for decades. The reason she’s trending today, however, is two-fold. Not only are photos from Monroe’s beach vacay with Joe DeMaggio (who by the way, died on this day in 1999) popping up, but MoMA is preparing to debut a 14-film restrospective dedicated to the superstar.

https://youtube.com/shorts/iYtv60l50a0?si=oJj8v-afWktn4nHk

Let’s start at the beach. In March 1961, Monroe was snapped enjoying the sand and sun with her pro baseball player ex-husband (video above, close-up photos here). According to the Tampa Bay Times, per Catalyst, DiMaggio took Monroe to Florida’s St. Petersburg following her psychiatric hospital stint to rest and recharge. The photos show the two lounding at Redington Beach -- her in a chic capris-jacket combo over a high-waist bikini and him in swim trunks. The whole display, published on March 22, 1961, is pure vintage Hollywood.

In other Marilyn news, the actress is the subject of a 14-film retrospective in New York City at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Debuting this week, Marilyn Monroe: Celluloid Dream highlights a section of the star’s acclaimed work, including Some Like It Hot, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend, among other classics.

“When we think about moving images — the bright and dark elements of moving images — we always go back to Marilyn, because she really embodied our fascination with the contradictions of the industry,” Assistant Curator Francisco Valente told the Boston Herald in an interview published today.

He added, “She looked at the industry at that time and many of those things are still valid today. How male-dominated it was. Mostly focused on male fantasies. The industry looked at her and wanted to create a new ‘dumb blonde’ for a mostly male audience. She understood that — and turned it around in her own fashion and created this character called ‘Marilyn Monroe.’”

Marilyn Monroe: Celluloid Dream runs March 12-15 at MoMA in New York City. And, luckily, her vintage beachy snapshots will live on forever.

1979 Rock Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 46 Years Ago Today

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 3:33pm

Queen's beloved 1979 song, "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," off their eighth studio album, The Game, became a number 1 hit 46 years ago.

The track, written by Queen's frontman and vocalist, the lateFreddie Mercury, secured the number one spot on Billboard's Top 100 on March 8, 1980.

In a 1984 interview,Mercury, who died in 1991 at the age of 45, shared that the idea for the song came to him while he was taking a bath. He recalled asking his manager, Paul Prenter, to hand him an acoustic guitar to bring the song to fruition while he remained in the bathtub.

"I was in a bath and then suddenly I had an idea, I called up Paul, and I said, 'Just get me a guitar.' Just an acoustic just in the bath," said Mercury in the 1984 interview. "And I was just in the bath, because I was restricted in the bath, I could only play three chords. So I was limited, and I came up with 'Crazy Little Thing.'"

In a 2011 interview with Absolute Radio, Queen's guitarist,Brian May, said Mercury was inspired by the music of Elvis Presley while writing "Crazy Little Thing Called Love."

"It's Freddie's tribute to Elvis in a way. He was very fond of Elvis," explained May in the Absolute Radio interview.

He also noted that "Freddie wrote it very quickly" and went to the studio to record most of the song with his Queen bandmates, which included Roger Taylor and John Deacon.

"By the time I got in there, it was almost done," recalled May.

He also attributed the song's authentic sound to the band's producer and engineer, Reinhold Mack.

"I think the sounds that Mack managed to get, these very elemental, very real sounds, real ambient sounds, had a real big contribution to make. It does sound very authentic. Everything about it is very original rock-and-roll. Very '70s," said the musician, now 78, in the 2011 interview.

Iconic '70s Songwriter, With 4 No. 1 Hit Songs, Turns 82

Sun, 03/08/2026 - 3:16pm

Few songwriters have left a mark on pop music quite like Carole Bayer Sager.

The celebrated lyricist, whose words helped create some of the biggest hits of the 1970s and 1980s, turns 82, marking milestone in a career that has spanned decades and produced a remarkable catalog of chart-topping songs.

Bayer Sager has written or co-written numerous hits, including four songs that reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Among her most famous is "That’s What Friends Are For," the star-studded charity single recorded by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Stevie Wonder and Gladys Knight. The song topped the charts in 1986 while raising millions of dollars for AIDS research.

"We were at the studio and Dionne did her vocal and Stevie was coming down to put his vocal on," Bayer Sager told Billboard. "I was talking to my dear friend Elizabeth Taylor, and she had never met Stevie. So she came down to the studio as Stevie was putting his vocal down, and because she was in the studio it just flashed through my mind that we should put a couple more people on this song and make it an anthem for AIDS."

"We put Gladys Knight on, she was incredible, and then we needed one more voice to hammer it home. We actually picked Luther Vandross, who was amazing, but Clive Davis said he didn't have quite enough power and Clive called out Elton John, and Elton came and put his voice on, and sometimes you just know. And we all just knew. I remember Elton saying, 'If this isn’t a No. 1 hit I’m leaving the business.'"

She also co-wrote the romantic ballad "When I Need You," which became an international smash for Leo Sayer, as well as "Arthur's Theme (Best That You Can Do)," the breezy hit recorded by Christopher Cross for the film Arthur.

"Arthur's Theme" didn’t just top the charts—it also won the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1982, cementing Bayer Sager’s reputation as one of the most successful lyricists of her generation.

Another one of her best-known songs is "A Groovy Kind of Love," which was originally recorded by The Mindbenders before becoming a No. 1 hit decades later when Phil Collins released his version in 1988.

Born in New York City, Bayer Sager began writing songs while attending New York University, eventually becoming one of the most sought-after lyricists in the industry. She collaborated with many legendary artists, including famed composer Burt Bacharach, whom she later married in 1982.

The pair worked together on several projects, including the Oscar-winning "Arthur’s Theme," during a partnership that produced some of the era's most polished pop songwriting.

Bayer Sager's work has earned numerous accolades over the years, including induction into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

While many listeners may not immediately recognize her name, chances are they know her songs. From romantic ballads to blockbuster movie themes and charity anthems, Carole Bayer Sager's lyrics have helped define the soundtrack of multiple generations.

Now, as she turns 82, the songwriter's influence continues to resonate—proof that sometimes the people behind the music shape pop culture just as much as the stars who sing it.
