Tig Notaro Reflects on Cheryl Hines Fallout Over RFK Jr.—‘She’s Gone’
Tig Notaro is opening up about her friendship fallout with Cheryl Hines.
On the Monday, Mar. 9 episode of The Best People with Nicolle Wallace podcast, the comedian said she ended her friendship with the Curb Your Enthusiasm actress over political differences. Hines is married to Robert F. Kennedy Jr., the Secretary of Health and Human Services under the Trump administration.
From 2020 to 2023, Notaro and Hines co-hosted the Tig and Cheryl: True Story podcast, which Notaro said gave her some of the “deepest, hardest laughs.” However, Notaro decided to step away from the show amid Kennedy Jr.’s, presidential campaign, which she said conflicted with her views.
“My friendship with her predated Bobby,” she explained. “There were things that he thought and felt that I didn’t agree with, but he didn’t have the platform he got during the pandemic."
Notaro also noted that she was heckled at her comedy shows due to her association with Kennedy Jr., claiming that people would interrupt her stand-up shows by yelling, "Bobby is crazy."
“I was telling Cheryl, I know it’s a small percentage that pushes back online or yells out at shows, but I was like, ‘Man, this is not my world. I don’t do this. I don’t want to be a part of this.’ And she was like, ‘I understand,’” Notaro said.
“I think that I needed to stop doing the podcast, because it was so ridiculous, it was so stupid—our show—that it was hard to be doing that when he was gaining momentum and speaking,“ she added. “I had to step away, but I loved her so much.”
After Notaro left the podcast in May 2023, Hines recorded it with a new cohost, Suits actress Rachael Harris, with Notaro's blessing. However, Hines and Harris stopped recording the podcast in December of that year.
The comedian then shared that despite distancing herself publicly, she continued reaching out to Hines privately to “send her love and support, because I didn’t know what was going on behind closed doors, because things shifted very severely.”
“And she would respond very pleasantly,” Notaro said. “But then I realized one day, she doesn’t ever reach out to me anymore. She responds to me, but she doesn’t reach out to me."
She added, "I had to shake myself out of denial that, ‘Oh, she’s gone,’ and, ‘OK, I need to let this go. I need to let it go.’”
Hines and Kennedy have been married since 2014, and their marriage also caused a falling out between Hines and her former Curb Your Enthusiasm co-star, Larry David. The pair have not spoken since the sitcom ended in 2024.
Notaro is currently nominated for an Academy Award for Best Documentary Feature as a producer on Come See Me in the Good Light—a documentary chronicling the life, art, and terminal illness of her close friend, poet Andrea Gibson. The 98th Academy Awards are on Sunday, Mar. 15, 2026.

Primary Care Physicians Say People Over 50 Should Be Careful With How Often They Eat This One Food
The older you get, the more likely it is that you’ll be taking at least one prescription medication every day. This isn’t necessarily bad; having access to medications that can support health—and even save lives—is worth taking advantage of.
According to the non-profit Kaiser Family Foundation, 89% of adults 65 and older and 75% of people 50 to 64 years old take prescription drugs. This is higher than the 51% of people ages 30 to 49 who take them.
Some of the most common prescription medications that people 50 and older take include antidepressants, cholesterol-lowering medications and blood pressure-lowering medications, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Related: 2 Over-The-Counter Medications You Should Never, Ever Combine, According to Doctors
For any prescription medication to work properly, it’s important that it's taken correctly. This includes knowing when to take it, knowing how it may interact with other medications or supplements and avoiding consuming any foods or drinks it can negatively interact with. You may already know that some medications shouldn’t be taken with alcohol or, in some cases, caffeine.
But there’s another common food that you might not be aware could be negatively interacting with your medications. Here, primary care physicians explain what it is, the possible health impacts and what you can safely consume instead.

The Popular Food That People Over 50 May Need To Limit, According to Primary Care PhysiciansEkaterina Vasileva-Bagler/Getty Images
One popular food that can negatively interact with many commonly prescribed medications is grapefruit. Dr. Krishna Patel, DO, a family medicine physician at Ember Health, says that the most common medications that negatively interact with grapefruit include cardiovascular medications (such as statins, which are taken to lower cholesterol), some blood pressure-lowering medications, psychiatric medications (such as antidepressants or anti-anxiety medications), immunosuppressants and antihistamines.
“Research indicates that grapefruit juice raises the levels of these medications significantly because they all rely on the CYP3A4 enzyme to be metabolized. It raises the levels of these medications many times higher than they would be with water,” explains Dr. Parth Bhavsar, MD, a family medicine physician and founder of TeleDirectMD.
Related: Is This Everyday Spice Making Your Medication Less Effective?
Dr. Bhavsar explains that grapefruit contains furanocoumarins, which are natural compounds. “These furanocoumarins prevent an enzyme in the intestine from functioning by blocking the enzyme CYP3A4. This enzyme helps break down many drugs before they enter the bloodstream,” he says, adding that scientific studies show that grapefruit can shut down this enzyme in the intestine, allowing more of the drug to enter the bloodstream than intended, an effect that can persist for 24 to 72 hours after consuming grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice.
Dr. Patel confirms this, explaining that this interaction can lead to the body not being able to metabolize the medication properly. This can cause high levels of the medication to remain in the body. “The effects depend on the medication, dose, timing and amount of grapefruit consumed. Generally, grapefruit can increase the level of the medication in the bloodstream, potentially causing more side effects or even toxicity,” she says.
Related: 5 Medications You Should Never, Ever Mix With Your Multivitamins Without Talking To Your Doctor
When a medication remains in the body’s system for longer than it should, instead of being metabolized properly, Dr. Bhavsar says it can increase the risk of experiencing side effects of the medication. For example, he explains that for some statins, having more of the drug in the body could lead to muscle problems or breakdown.
“Having more calcium channel blocker in the body might result in a large drop in blood pressure, dizziness and fainting. Having more of an anti-arrhythmic drug in the body might result in a severe heart rhythm problem. For transplant patients taking immunosuppressant drugs, a small amount of grapefruit might be enough to have a potentially toxic amount of drug in the body,” Dr. Bhavsar says, giving more examples of what could happen.
What About Other Citrus Fruits?Does taking one of the aforementioned medications mean you can never enjoy grapefruit or grapefruit juice? Maybe or maybe not. The best way to find out is to ask your primary care provider.
“It can still be safe to eat grapefruit or drink grapefruit juice in small amounts with certain medications. For example, consuming a modest amount, such as half a grapefruit a few times a week, when taking a statin medication is unlikely to cause significant interactions, and the effect is modest if medications are taken in the evening and the juice or fruit is consumed in the morning,” Dr. Patel says.
It’s also worth knowing that other citrus fruits besides grapefruit are safe to enjoy. “Other citrus fruits, apart from grapefruit, can be considered safe as they don’t affect the enzyme as significantly. Oranges, mandarins, lemons and limes don’t affect the enzyme as grapefruit does,” Dr. Bhavsar notes. But he warns that Seville oranges, pomelos and tangelos do contain the same active ingredients as grapefruit, so it’s important to be cautious of those fruits.
If you have any questions about what foods and drinks could interfere with your medications, be sure to talk to your doctor. As delicious as grapefruit is, it’s not worth putting your health in jeopardy when there are so many other fruits you can enjoy risk-free.

Jane Seymour, 75, Reflects on the 'Most Meaningful' Role She Said 'Yes' to in Her 40s
Actor Jane Seymour, 75, is reflecting back today, sharing gratitude for her past role as Dr. Michaela Quinn in the hit TV series Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman (1993–1998). Seymour held this iconic role from ages 42 to 47. "In your 40s, you'll be asked to play a doctor," today's Instagram caption reads. "It's very important that you say yes..."
Actor Jane Seymour undoubtedly helped pave the way for so many female actors who have come after her. After all, age discrimination in Hollywood is alive and well, but it's certainly better now, thanks to thriving, dedicated actors like Seymour. Way back in the early '90s, however, securing a life-changing acting role in your 40s, was hard to come by for many actors, particularly female ones.

Nowadays, amazing roles for women over 40 are much more common, as well as roles for women in their 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, and yes even 90s. Just ask 96-year-old, Oscar-nominated actor June Squibb, whose career is still cooking.
Seymour started her acting career in her early 20s, taking on roles as an early Bond Girl in Live and Let Die (1973), as well as in unforgettable movies like Somewhere in Time (1980) alongside Christopher Reeve, and in Wedding Crashers (2005). Her current lead role as Harriet "Harry" Wild in Harry Wild, a popular Irish mystery series on Acorn TV, has been renewed for a fifth season in 2026. And fun fact: The new season of Harry Wild will reunite Seymour with former Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman castmate, Joe Lando, too.
Seymour has been very open about being broke and desperate when she took on the Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman role. At the time, reports People, she called her agent, saying she’d "do anything.”
“Anything turned up later on that day as a script called Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, which I was guaranteed would never be a series,” she said. “So, I signed for five years [and] immediately started the following morning.”
Seymour's recent Instagram post reads, "When I said yes to playing Dr. Michaela Quinn, I had no idea how much it would change my life. It became one of the most meaningful chapters of my career ... "
Iconic '60s Rocker, With Classic No. 1 Hit Song, Turns 86
There are very few hits out there that capture the carefree spirit of early '60s surf rock quite like "Surf City". The chart-topping hit from Jan and Dean helped define a musical era — and on Tuesday, Dean Torrence, one-half of the iconic duo, is celebrating his 86th birthday.
Born in Los Angeles in 1940, Torrence helped pioneer both the California Sound and the styles of Southern California surf culture during the sixties with top ten hits like "Surf City," as well as "Little Old Lady from Pasadena" and "Dead Man’s Curve."

Jan and Dean were created by Torrance and William Berry in the late 1950s while they were high school football players. They started making music with different groups until establishing Jan and Dean in 1959, and started working with famous producers like Herb Alpert and Lou Adler.
1963 and 1964 were the duo's peak years. In May 1963, they released their hit song "Surf City," which became the first surf song to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. Co-written by Barry and Brian Wilson of The Beach Boys, about a fictional surfing spot where there are "two girls for every boy." In addition to remaining the top song for two weeks in the United States, the single also crossed over to the Billboard R&B chart and peaked at No. 3, and was also popular in the United Kingdom.
Thanks to the success of "Surf City," it gave Jan and Dean a unique sound and identity, which would be followed by five more top ten hits inspired by Los Angeles surf and hot rod life.
Almost 30 years after the release of the song, Torrance moved to Huntington Beach, California, and helped convince elected officials that the town should be officially nicknamed Surf City. By 2006, "Surf City USA" became an official trademark that was registered to Huntington Beach. As of 2024, more than 90 businesses in the city include "Surf City" as part of their name.

Jan and Dean were active on-and-off from 1959 to 2004. Together, they created 15 studio albums, as well as released two live albums and multiple compilations. In March 2004, Barry passed away from a seizure when he was just 62 years old.
As of 2024, Torrence still lives in Surf City. Though Jan & Dean’s career didn’t last as long as some of their contemporaries, Torrence has left a mark on the music industry and surf culture in Southern California.

In a March 10 statement to People magazine, Bolden and Johnston, who wed in November 2025, shared that their 2-year-old daughter, Leighton, will soon have a younger sibling.
"We’re so thrilled to announce that Leighton will be becoming a big sister early fall of 2026," read the statement.
Johnston shared that she had convinced her husband it would be a good idea for Leighton to be a big sister in a February 2025 interview withAccess Hollywood. She told the publication she and Bolden decided that they would try for another child when their firstborn was between the ages of 2 and 3, so she could be more "independent." Johnston also said that Bolden only wants two children.
"I'm fine with that as well. Two kids. Give her a sibling and call it done," said the TLC personality.
In addition, Johnston shared that Leighton "has her dad wrapped around his finger." According to Johnston, her husband already warned her that she would have to discipline their daughter, because he never wants to "be mean or yell at her."
"As soon as he gets home from work that's the first person she wants to see, besides me. But she has definitely got her wrapped around his finger. I mean he's going to spoil that girl to bits," said the 24-year-old to Access Hollywood.
Johnston also shared that she believes Leighton most resembles her husband.
"Some of her facial expressions I've caught where Brice is holding her in her lap and they're literally making the same like straight face. And I'm like, 'Wow, you look just like your dad.' And the way she smiles sometimes is very similar to Brice's," said Johnston to Access Hollywood.
She clarified that she believes that her daughter has inherited her cheeks.

Anyone who grew up with the Jonas Brothers would have known their longtime childhood friend Maya Kibbel. Her mother announced on social media the news of her death at the age of 30 from a battle with Wilson’s disease.
Growing up alongside the family, Maya was often seen in the backdrop of many Jonas Brothers projects, backstage hangouts, and tours, and was close to other Disney Channel stars like Miley Cyrus. Her mother, Kiyoko Kibbel, posted on Instagram about her daughter's death on March 7, after years of battling the rare disease. She revealed Maya had suddenly collapsed and was taken to the hospital, where she died in the emergency room.
"It is with great sorrow that I have to post this sad news. Maya had been suffering from a rare disease called Wilson’s disease. She fought hard but her body gave out. Early on 3/7, she collapsed and her heart and lungs stopped working. It was too late and she passed away in the ER," she posted.
"She had suffered so much that often she would cry herself to sleep due to her pain. But now she has entered into Heaven where she can be with her daddy with no more pain or tears. Those of you who knew her and can’t believe she is gone, please know she is in the best place ever! I know she is watching over all of you from up above. Thank you to all those who loved and cared for her while she was still here. As her mom of 30 years, I miss her terribly and am heartbroken. My comfort is knowing she is no longer suffering. Love and prayers to you all!"

According to the National Institute of Health, Wilson's disease is a genetic disorder that "prevents the body from removing extra copper." A build-up of copper affects the liver, brain, eyes, and other organs, and without treatment, high copper levels can cause life-threatening organ damage.
Following the news of Maya's death, Nick Jonaswas the first to publicly comment, having posted, "My sister forever. Here for you always @coach_kibbel." Joe, Kevin, and the rest of the family have yet to publicly comment.

Viola Davis Has the Perfect Reaction to Becoming a Meme After the Actor Awards
SAG-AFTRA's awards show has come and gone, which means the Oscars are next — and just days away at this point.
Earlier this month, the newly named Actor Awards were highlighted some surprise wins, including the Male Actor in a Leading Role category. It was not Timothée Chalamet or Wagner Moura who took home the trophy, but rather Michael B. Jordan — and the award's presenter couldn't have been happier.
She certainly looked that way, at least. Jordan, 39, accepted his SAG-AFTRA statue from the one and only Viola Davis, whose quick little celebration upon realizing the winner has since gone viral. Who knew that the presenter would become more memorable than the winner?
In a new interview, Davis, 60, reflects on her epic moment from the Actor Awards and how she feels about it sweeping the internet — and even becoming a meme.
View this post on Instagram“Me and my husband [actor and producer Julius Tennon] have been laughing for two days,” the EGOT winner told Variety in an article published Tuesday, March 10.
Davis continued, “Michael B. Jordan is an incredible human and an incredible leader. It’s extremely exciting what he’s going to become. Now he’s getting into directing, and he is going to bring African American filmmaking into a beautiful place.”
These days, the actress has also stepped into a new creative arena and says the experience came down to one unexpected connection. She recently teamed up with bestselling author James Patterson to co-write a new legal thriller titled Judge Stone. While the collaboration may seem surprising at first glance, Davis says the partnership came together quite naturally.
“Meeting, writing this book, I just liked him. We just connected,” Davis said when reflecting on working with the prolific author to CBS News on March 8.
Judge Stone centers on a respected Black female circuit judge in a small Alabama town who finds herself presiding over an explosive case involving a teenage girl who is raped and later undergoes an illegal abortion.
‘Grey’s Anatomy’ Alum Katherine Heigl, 47, Hits the Red Carpet for the First Time in Years
Katherine Heigl was once one of the most regular faces on television, but she prefers a quieter life in Utah these days.
Heigl, 47, rose to superstardom as Dr. Izzie Stevens on the beloved medical series Grey's Anatomy, a role that earned her an Emmy Award in 2007. While she earned acclaim for comedic roles in films like Knocked Up and 27 Dresses, other movie roles, like One for the Money, didn't quite pan out. She later found great success on the Netflix series Firefly Lane, which concluded in 2023. These days, Heigl is primarily focused on raising her two teenage daughters, Naleigh and Adalaide, and a young son, Joshua, with her husband Josh Kelley. That's why it was quite a surprise to see the blonde beauty hit the red carpet at Wine, Women & Shoes benefiting Big Dog Ranch Rescue at Mar-a-Lago. At the event alongside her mother, Nancy, the actress wore a bright, multi-colored dress with her blonde tresses pulled back.

What Did Katherine Heigl Say About Losing Eric Dane?Heigl's appearance on the red carpet comes just a few weeks after the tragic death of her former Grey's co-star, Eric Dane, following his courageous battle with ALS. In an Instagram post, Heigl shared her message of grief for Dane and his family.
"I debated this post for days. I have never been comfortable grieving publicly. I share my tears, my stories, and my memories with those I’m closest to, and more times than not, I share them only with the heavens alone. But that silence can often look like a lack of care, which I could not abide here. Rebecca, Billie, Georgia… There is so little, if in fact anything, one can say about a tragic loss like yours. All the 'I’m sorries' and 'my prayers are with you' ring a bit hollow in the midst of so much pain and grief. So I will say the only thing that has ever brought me peace when I’ve lost someone I love. It is Robert Frost’s poem 'Nothing Gold Can Stay' of which I have tattooed on my body in my parents’ handwriting so I will never forget that the moment of gold was worth it. 'Nature's first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf’s a flower, but only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, so Dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay.' I will never forget Eric’s gold, and I will forever be grateful I got to bask in it for even a brief moment in time. Thank you for sharing him with us. God Speed, my old friend…here’s to your next great adventure," Heigl captioned the post.
View this post on InstagramIs ‘High Potential’ New Tonight (March 10, 2026)? All the Details
High Potential's mid-season break felt like it lasted forever, but the Kaitlin Olson-led ABC crime series was back last week with a brand-new episode that had Olson's Morgan Gillory focusing on matters closer to home. But are we getting another new case from the High Potential gang on Tuesday, March 10? Or are we in another holding pattern?
If you're on the edge of your seat wondering whether we're going to get an inkling as to Roman's whereabouts this week, here's everything to know.
Is there a new episode of ‘High Potential’ tonight?Get excited because, yes, there is a new episode of High Potential for March 10. It's called "If You Come For the Queen" and it's a Daphne-centric storyline. What time does 'High Potential' air?You can watch the latest episode of High Potential on Tuesdays at 9/8c.
Where can I watch ‘High Potential’?The first run of new episodes airs on ABC, but you can also stream it on Hulu the very next day.
What other storylines are currently in the works on 'High Potential'?The biggest overarching storyline on High Potential that's been a thing since the very first season is finding Morgan's ex and Ava's dad, Roman Sinquerra. Last week we saw Lt. Soto (Judy Reyes) give Morgan a call to let her know that Roman's childhood friend Arthur (Mekhi Phifer) had been taken into custody. But it still doesn't feel like the detectives are any closer to finding Roman.
Beyond that, Ava is beginning to think about college and what she wants for her life after high school. Is that freaking Morgan out? Absolutely, yes.
Outside of the Gillory household, Karadec (Daniel Sunjata) is rekindling a relationship with the one who got away, his former fiance, Lucia (Susan Kelechi Watson), so there's a lot more to dig into there as well. Will the couple finally make it down the aisle this time around? The answer to that question is likely to drag out for a while, but it's fun to see a new side of the otherwise strictly professional Karadec.

Popular Chicken Chain Just Added 3 New Wing Flavors and Fans Are Already Talking
An iconic chicken wing franchise has just announced new items that has customers buzzing. Zaxbys is expanding its dry rub flavor offerings, and the restaurant is adding a refreshing milkshake to the menu, too.
According to Zaxbys, they have permanently added three dry rub options to the menu. When the restaurant chain tested the Lemon Pepper dry rub a few months back, it was "Zaxbys most successful limited-time offering in 35 years."
Given the success of that initial dry rub introduction, Zaxbys has gone big and bold to add not only Lemon Pepper to the menu permanently, but to also add Garlic Parmesan and Nashville Hot dry rub flavors, as well.
View this post on InstagramThe new dry rub flavors can be added to both wings and chicken fingers, and are already available. Zaxbys teased that for a limited time, customers who are Zax Rewardz members can try the chain's "ultimate menu hack," and add any of the dry rub flavors to the fries, as well. That option will be available via the Zaxbys app or website through April 27.
In addition to the dry rub additions, Zaxbys also announced they have added a new flavor of milkshake to their menus for a limited time. The Peaches & Cream Milkshake is a "sweet nod to Zaxbys Georgia roots."
Customers have mostly positive things to say about the new dry rub flavors so far.
On Facebook, one customer raved, "I've been with the brand 20 years now...And that Nashville Hot is absolutely delicious on bird and the Garlic Parm fries slap!"
A couple of customers suggested that the lemon pepper rub was "way too much lemon." Someone else, however, commented, "I'm surprised to hear that. I've had them 4-5 times & loved them every time!"
On Instagram, several Zaxbys customers pleaded for a return of the Insane Sauce and seemed less interested in the new dry rub flavors. The fiery hot sauce is the hottest the chain has offered, but it was discontinued in 2022. It was briefly brought back in October 2024, and customers still hold out hope it may return again some day.
29 Years Ago Today, a Movie Flop Became One of the Greatest TV Shows of All Time
Twenty-nine years ago today, a flopped movie became one of the greatest TV shows of all time.
On March 10, 1997, a show called Buffy the Vampire Slayer quietly premiered on The WB network. Though no one knew it at the time, it would change the course of television history. To this day, many consider it to be one of the best shows ever created.
The road to that now-iconic premiere wasn't exactly smooth, as the series was born out of creative frustration and disappointment that creator Joss Whedon faced.
Before it became a show that ran seven seasons and spawned a direct spinoff titled Angel, just two years after Sarah Michelle Gellar's debut as Buffy Summers, Whedon originally wrote Buffy as a 1992 film of the same name.
While he envisioned a sharp film about a teen girl who defied every horror movie stereotype, the final product was far from that, as the studio had rewritten and reworked the script so significantly that it barely resembled Whedon's initial pitch.
Related: 16 Years Ago, ‘One of the Best Shows Ever’ Premiered on NBC and ‘Changed’ Everything
And the film's lukewarm reception echoed Whedon's disappointment, though it wasn't a total box office flop, raking in around $16 million against the $7 million budget.
Whedon, however, was determined to see his original vision through, so he developed a TV series to tell the story the way he originally intended to—with a clean slate.
The filmmaker and comic book writer wasn't done with Buffy Summers, not even close. In fact, it was just the beginning of her story, a blonde heroine who took on monsters emerging from the Hellmouth located under her high school, all while inspiring generations to come.
Buffy the Vampire Slayer was a show that used monsters as metaphors for the horrors of adolescence, while balancing wit, heartbreak, romance and thrills, supported by a found family that the protagonist could always rely on.
It was unlike anything else on television at the time, and people noticed.
The strong female character went onto become timeless, partially thanks to sharp writing, and partially due to the talents of Gellar.
"Buffy Summers in Buffy the Vampire Slayer is proof of sharp writing. The show never treats her heroism and teenage life as separate tracks. The slayer mythology and the school drama mirror each other, and that duality is what makes her timeless," one fan account wrote.
Related: ’90s Heartthrob Tops the List of Internet’s Crushes After New Drama Becomes an Instant Hit
The rest is, well, history. Across seven seasons, boasting a total of 144 episodes, Buffy redefined what a female protagonist could and should look like on screen.
And that found family went on to become one of TV's greatest ensembles, with Gellar, Alyson Hannigan (Willow), Nicholas Brendon (Xander), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), the late Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn Summers) and David Boreanaz (Angel) among them.
Whedon never stopped believing in his vision, creating some of the most experimental moments of television the '90s had ever seen, including a musical episode, titled "Once More With Feeling," and a near-silent one titled, "Hush."
But nothing captivated audiences more than the show's epic and unforgettable romances, with Buffy and Angel at the center. Considered one of the grandest love stories in television history, the tortured and poetic romance between a vampire slayer and a vampire with a soul was the emotional backbone of the early seasons, with their love plagued by an impossible curse— true happiness would cost Angel his soul, a metaphor for first loves.
It was followed by Buffy's controversial relationship with enemy-turned-lover Spike, portrayed by James Marsters, which many fans believed underscored unhealthy and toxic dynamics in a relationship.
And there was also the history-making romance between Willow and Tara (Amber Benson), which became one of the first serious same-sex relationships depicted on mainstream television.
Twenty-nine years later, the show's influence can still be felt across every supernatural drama that followed, and every strong female action hero who walked in her footsteps.
For every generation, a slayer is born, and the next one could use their own Buffy, with Gellar finally agreeing to work on a continuation of the series in recent years.
Not bad for a flopped movie.
Kathryn Hahn Is Officially Playing Live-Action Mother Gothel In Disney's 'Tangled'
Fans of Disney's Tangled know that "mother knows best," but it seems fans also know best, as the extremely popular fan cast of Kathryn Hahnin the role of live-action Mother Gothel has just been officially announced.
Hahn was shown in a video on Disney Studios' official Threads account wearing a Mother Gothel t-shirt and jokingly showing off her outfit as though it was no big deal. However, the caption revealed the complete opposite, as the account shared, "You want her to be the bad guy? FINE. Kathryn Hahn is Mother Gothel in Disney's live-action Tangled."
This caption is a reference to Gothel's line in the original animated Tangled. Hahn also shared the video on her own Instagram account, the bio for which now says, "mother knows best," yet another reference to Mother Gothel's Tangled lines.
View this post on InstagramFans have been pleading for Disney to cast Hahn in this role since the live-action Tangled was announced, if not earlier. Particularly Hahn's role as Agatha Harkness in the MCU's WandaVision and then the spinoff show Agatha All Along had fans convinced that Hahn was perfect for the role. Much to the joy of fans, it seems Disney agreed.
Already, Disney Studios' post is flooded with comments from happy fans who are clearly excited by the news. One fan wrote, "WandaVision and Agatha All Along were just the casting auditions for this role," and another said, "10/10 casting. No notes."
Multiple other comments simply state that this is "perfect casting" and express appreciation that Disney made this call. In fact, one particularly delighted fan said, "Give that casting director their Oscar now!"
This news comes on the heels of some other live-action Tangled casting news, including Teagan Croft in the leading role of Rapunzel and Milo Manheim as her on-screen love interest Flynn Ryder.
Currently, no release date for the live-action Tangled is officially confirmed, but clearly work on the movie is well underway.
‘Age of Attraction’: Nick Viall and Natalie Joy Said Looks Matter With Age Gaps
Age of Attraction starts with singles on a retreat trying to find the one. They talk about anything on the Netflix show except their age. That information is revealed once a couple is ready to exchange promise rings.
Hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy talked about their 18-year age gap on their podcast, The Viall Files. But they also revealed their opinions on wider age gaps that'll be in the new show. Here is why Viall, 45, and Joy, 27 said things like appearance and grandchildren matter to how they feel about age gaps.
Natalie Joy Questioned Grandparents Dating Younger People Before Age of Attraction Natalie Joy Viall and Nick Viall on 'Age of Attraction'The couple discussed the possibility of the Golden Bachelor contestants joining their younger counterparts on Bachelor in Paradise a year ago on The Viall Files. Guest Victoria Fuller was disgusted by the thought. "Guys, age gaps are in," Viall said.
"I always say when it comes to age gaps, looks matter," he added. Fuller said it's different for Viall and Joy because he's not a grandfather like some of the contestants on Golden Bachelorette.
"Well, it's weird that they are 60s and 70s for sure," Joy added. Fuller agreed and kept saying she can't look at it. "I think it's a looks thing," Viall said to her.
Viall asked how much more a 70-year-old can take advantage of someone in their 20s in comparison to someone in their 40s. Fuller said a 40-year-old has more life to live.
"There is something different about, like, a 70-year-old man who looks 70," Joy said. "Who looks like a grandfather, is a grandfather," and is hitting on a young woman, she continued. She said, "I don't know" about how she feels about it.
The new Netflix show will at least have people in their 60s, based on the trailer. However, that took some of the younger participants by surprise because of everyone's looks. The season will end to reveal if couples with age gaps could last.
The new social experiment premieres on Wednesday, March 11. Episode six and seven drop on March 8, and the final episode airs on March 25 on Netflix.
'The Streak Is Over!' Looking Back at the Emmy-Winning Scene That Defined Susan Lucci’s Career
Actress Susan Lucci joined the cast of All My Children in 1970 and received her first nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series eight years later, in 1978. However, it wasn’t until 1998 that a powerful storyline involving Erica Kane’s daughter Bianca (Nathalie Paulding) helped change everything and ultimately ended Lucci’s long-running Emmy drought.
The official Instagram account honoring Agnes Nixon, the creator of All My Children, among many other soap operas, shared a throwback scene that led to Lucci’s historic win at the Daytime Emmy Awards.
The account captioned the post, “Today in 1998, Bianca Montgomery, who was carrying so much pain in silence and struggling to find control through food, finally let her emotions pour out in a powerful therapy session.”

In the emotional scene, Bianca is struggling with anorexia nervosa. Her mother, Erica Kane, opens up about her own past and her complicated history with her mother, Mona Kane (Frances Heflin).
Erica’s vulnerability encourages Bianca to finally share her own pain, including her anger towards her father Travis (Larkin Malloy) and toward Erica for her relationship with Travis’ brother Jackson (Walt Willey).
The following year, in 1999, at the Daytime Emmys, Shemar Moore presented the award for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Daytime Drama and historically proclaimed "The streak is over, Susan Lucci!" and presented Lucci with her first win after 18 prior nominations.
Fans quickly took to the comment section on Instagram to reflect on the emotional moment.
One viewer wrote, “Heartbreaking...and Susan's performance was so restrained & nuanced - that's what got her the Emmy! The writers always gave her such BIG scenes for Emmy consideration. But everyone knew she could go big. This was Erica...but in a way we'd never seen Susan portray her❤️👏👏👏👏👏👏👏.”
A second user added, “My goodness. I do remember watching this. Doesn’t seem like it was 30 years ago.”
Actress Susan Lucci recently released a memoir, recounting stories from her life and time on and off All My Children, titled La Lucci.
La Lucci is available now.
