Fifty-four years ago, beloved singer Donny Osmond released a cover of "Puppy Love"—a song that reached staggering chart success despite being sung by a 13-year-old.

Released on February 19, 1972, as the lead single from his third studio album, Portrait of Donny, "Puppy Love" achieved major success. Upon its release, it captured the attention of thousands of listeners on the radio. By February 26, it entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart, eventually peaking at No. 3 on April 1. In total, the single spent 12 consecutive weeks on the tally, further establishing his status as a global teen idol.

"Puppy Love" didn't just experience chart dominance—it also earned significant commercial triumph. The track was a global smash hit, selling over 1 million physical copies. Its parent album was later certified Gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), attesting to the single's influence and ability to move audiences.

Creating "Puppy Love"

Donny was the breakout star from the American family band The Osmonds, featuring nine siblings. By the time he launched his solo career, Donny was only 13 years old, releasing his debut single "Go Away Little Girl" in September 1971. Within the same month, Donny recorded "Puppy Love," placing him among the youngest stars to ever record a solo single that entered the Hot 100 chart.

Originally written and recorded by Paul Anka in 1960, "Puppy Love" is the quintessential love ballad. The song tells the story of an innocent romance between two teenagers. The track's theme of young love was only amplified by Donny's juvenile yet powerful voice, prompting nostalgia among older demographics and swooning teenage girls.

Over five decades after its release, Donny's rendition of "Puppy Love" is still commended for being an impactful '70s staple. The track has persevered today in the digital era, reaching modern audiences through streaming platforms. On Spotify alone, the track has garnered over 11.4 million streams.

Many people assume that a not criminally responsible verdict means a defendant is immediately released—but that is not how the process works in Massachusetts.

As the Lindsay Clancy trial continues, questions remain about what could happen if the jury finds her not criminally responsible in connection with the deaths of her three children. While Clancy's defense has argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis after giving birth to her third child, such a verdict would not simply allow her to return home.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, is facing three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Prosecutors allege that Clancy strangled her children inside the basement of her Duxbury, Massachusetts, home in January 2023 while her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands. Afterward, she attempted to take her own life, an incident that left her paralyzed from the waist down. Clancy has pleaded not guilty to the charges brought against her.

Instead, Clancy would enter a separate court-supervised process involving psychiatric evaluations, mental health experts, and possible long-term hospitalization, according to legal expert Margaret McLean, host of The Margaret McLean Show. Massachusetts law requires several steps to determine whether someone found not criminally responsible can safely be released back into the community, McLean says.

"Massachusetts law does not simply allow her to walk free," McLean tells Parade. "Her case would be shifted to a structured civil commitment process overseen by both the court and numerous mental health experts."

Following the verdict, a judge would first order an evaluation period of up to 40 days at a state mental health facility, where clinicians would assess her mental health and potential risk to the community. After the initial evaluation period, a judge would hold a hearing to determine whether Clancy remains mentally ill and whether she presents a danger to public safety. If that standard is met, she could be committed for up to six months at a secure psychiatric facility.

"Unlike a prison sentence, a 'not guilty by reason of insanity' commitment has no maximum end date," McLean explains. "If Clancy's severe mental illness is deemed chronic and dangerous, she can legally remain institutionalized for the rest of her life."

Once that initial commitment expires, the state would have to return to court to seek continued hospitalization. Each year, officials would need to prove that Clancy still requires involuntary treatment.

If she were eventually approved for release, it would likely come with strict court-ordered conditions, including mental health monitoring, supervised housing, medication compliance, and immediate intervention if doctors believed her condition was worsening.

Marvel actor Tom Holland has officially made history by becoming the first-ever celebrity to vomit on the set of Hot Ones.

Appearing on a recent episode of the popular YouTube talk show, Holland and his co-star Jon Bernthal discussed their work on the summer blockbuster The Odyssey over increasingly hot wings.

As they grappled with questions from host Sean Evans, the heat ended up proving a bit too much for the Spider-Man actor to handle. Standing up to pose with Evans for a publicity photo, Holland ended up doubling over and vomiting in front of the camera, leading all three celebrities to instantly begin laughing.

"Let's go!" Bernthal cheered, grabbing Holland by the shoulders and encouraging him to "take a picture" of the mess to better remember the occasion.

As Holland permitted the camera crew to use footage of his vomiting for the show, he wiped his mouth with a napkin Bernthal handed to him. “Look, Louis Vuitton, I got none of it on my clothes," he pointed out to the camera.

After Bernthal asked Evans if anyone had ever puked on the show before, Evans promptly responded, “That might be the first on set ever.”

“I love being the first,” Holland said with a laugh.

Of course, Hot Ones has become (in)famous for its fiery questions and even hotter wings. As each of its celebrity guests answer Evans' questions, they're subjected to increasingly spicier wings that leave them gasping for breath, reaching for milk and water and cursing aloud in pain and embarrassment.

During their appearance on the show, Holland and Bernthal spoke about their work in both The Odyssey and the upcoming MCU film, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, opening in theaters on July 31.

“The fact that we auditioned for these movies together and we took that leap of faith together and we get to share this moment together now is pretty awesome and I’m just very grateful," Holland said at one point during Hot Ones, reflecting on his working relationship with Bernthal over the past decade.

The Giudice family is mourning the loss of someone who was considered more than just a friend.

After Joe Giudice revealed over the weekend that his daughter Milania Giudice's longtime friend, Victoria Zardoya, had died at 20, Milania took to her Instagram Stories to share her own memories of Victoria, posting photos of the pair throughout their friendship, including a sweet childhood snapshot where the longtime friends showed off matching "BFF" arm tattoos.

While Milania, 20, has not yet written a personal tribute, she reposted several heartfelt messages honoring Victoria, including a quote that read: "Now I have to remember you for longer than I have known you."

In Joe's tribute to the young woman, he revealed that Victoria had died after a "simple fall."

"There are no words for this kind of pain," Joe, 54, wrote on Instagram. "Victoria, you were like a daughter to me. I watched you grow up with my daughter Milania. We were neighbors for years, and you became part of our family. I can't believe you're gone."

He continued, "To think that a simple fall while just being young and having fun could take such a beautiful life is heartbreaking. You were only 20 years old, with your whole future ahead of you."

Reflecting on the tragedy, Joe reminded his followers to cherish their loved ones, writing, "Life is so fragile. In one moment, everything can change. Please don't take a single day or the people you love for granted."

He also shared a final message to Victoria and her family, adding, "Victoria, you will be missed more than you'll ever know. You'll always have a place in our hearts, and I'll never forget you. My heart is with your family. Rest in peace, beautiful girl. Until we meet again."

Following Joe's tribute, Milania's mom, Teresa Giudice, also joined her family in remembering Victoria, commenting beneath her ex-husband's post: "Forever in our hearts."

The Real Housewives of New Jersey star, 54, additionally shared a photo from what appeared to be a church service on her Instagram Stories, writing, "We love Victoria."

Fans of the Giudice family have since shared messages of support, sending condolences to Victoria's loved ones and standing by Milania as she grieves the loss of her longtime friend.

The 1965 song "I'm Looking Through You" details the feeling of no longer recognizing a person you loved. That's because they changed in a way that's beyond physical traits.

Jane Asher and McCartney's relationship struggled in 1965. He reportedly wrote this song after an argument, according to Far Out.

"As is one’s wont in relationships, you will from time to time argue or not see eye to eye on things, and a couple of the songs around this period were that kind of thing," the songwriter said in the book, Many Years From Now. The Deep End star revealed her mindset during that time in her life with The Guardian in 2024. Dating a member of The Beatles draws attention and it become her identity to the public.

"I became very wary of the press early on, and I decided to keep my private life as private as I possibly could, which was hard because my life was so publicised at that time," Asher, 80, explained. However, she has complicated feelings for how she protected herself.

"I probably became too wary, and reluctant to talk about anything," Asher continued. "Back then, journalists seemed to write anything, regardless of whether it was true or not. So whether I’ve kept a sense of self … I don’t quite know what my self is. But it’s reasonably settled, I guess."

McCartney and Asher got engaged in 1967 in India. She revealed on Dee Time with Simon Dee that their engagement was over a year later, and it wasn't her decision. Francie Schwartz claimed she was with McCartney when he watched it.

"I watched the show with Paul and his father," she said in The Beatles: Off The Record, according to American Songwriter. "This wave of shocked silence went through all of us. It was painful because she was announcing it publicly, and she didn’t leave it up to him. That’s the one thing Paul never wants to happen. He really is a control person."

If true that means Asher was fearful of press during their relationship, then used it to put an end to their engagement.

If you planned to watch Jeopardy! today to see if two-day champ Matthew Riggle would take home his third consecutive win, you might be surprised to find there’s no new episode airing for the foreseeable future.

The game show is officially on hiatus for the season, having wrapped up Jeopardy! Season 42 on Friday, July 24, 2026.

Riggle was the reigning champ as the season ended, earning $16,399 and pushing his 2-day running total to $64,400. He won't be back until the new season premiere this fall.

Instead, Jeopardy! will begin airing tournament reruns starting today, July 27, 2026.

First up will be Champions Wildcard, with CWC Week 1 airing the week of July 27-31, followed by CWC Week 2 from Aug. 3-7.

The Tournament of Champions is up next. On Aug 10-14, fans can catch TOC Week 1, followed by TOC Week 2 on Aug. 17-21 and TOC Week 3 from Aug. 24-28.

The Jeopardy Invitational Tournament Week 1 will air Aug. 31- Sep. 4, with JIT Week 2 the following week from Sep 7-9.

Again, these are reruns, with the new Tournament of Champions likely airing early next year.

When Will Jeopardy! Season 43 Premiere?

Reruns will air until Jeopardy! Season 43, which is expected to return on Sept. 14, 2026, though this remains unconfirmed for the time being.

The good news is that the Ken Jennings-hosted game show isn't going anywhere anytime soon, as it secured a multi-season pickup at the Disney Upfronts. In addition to Season 43, a Season 44 is also guaranteed, with new episodes running through the 2027–2028 broadcast.

Episodes of Jeopardy! are available on both Hulu and Peacock. Subscribers can enjoy watching new episodes the next day, as well as access a vault of many classic episodes to enjoy at a moment’s notice.

Jeopardy! Summer Spin-offs

Fans, however, can enjoy two Jeopardy! spin-offs in the meantime to fill the void while waiting for new episodes to return.

ESPN Jeopardy! will premiere on Friday, July 31, hosted by Joe Buck, which focuses on sports-related clues. Fans will be able to stream it on Disney+, Hulu, and the ESPN App.

Jeopardy! Masters will also return for its fourth season starting on Aug. 25, as Jennings steps back in as host for episodes airing every Tuesday through Friday through Sep. 8. It will air on ABC and be available to stream the next day on Hulu.

In 1973, Vicki Lawrence was known as a longtime star on the variety series The Carol Burnett Show. But that same year she also became the voice behind an unlikely pop hit that fans never saw coming.

The song was “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia,” and it was written by Lawrence’s then-husband Bobby Russell. The Southern murder ballad featured a haunting melody and dark lyrics about a deadly crime—a major departure from Lawrence’s usual roles such as "Mama” Thelma Harper on the CBS sketch comedy series.

“The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” went to No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in April 1973, with the crime-drama song making Lawrence a bona fide musical one-hit wonder.

Lawrence’s foray into the world of pop music almost didn’t happen. Russell didn’t originally write the song for her, and only had her record it when Cher's manager/husband Sonny Bonoturned it down on Cher's behalf.

In an interview posted on Lyndsanity, Lawrence recalled that during her two-year marriage to Russell, she predicted "The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia" would be a “stone cold smash,” but he told her he hated it.

Russell then told Lawrence that if she loved it so much, she should record a demo. She did, and then producer Snuff Garrett told her that he would show it to Liza Minnelli.

“And I said, ‘This is not a Liza Minnelli song!’” Lawrence recalled. “And he said, ‘Yeah, maybe you’re right. I’ll send it over to Cher' — he’d actually produced [Cher’s album] Gypsys, Tramps & Thieves. And Sonny [Bono] heard the song ...and said, ‘This will offend the entire Southern half of the country. Cher’s not going to do it unless it’s completely rewritten.”

Russell refused to rewrite the song, so Garrett said, “Let’s just go in the studio and do it with Vicki.”

“So, I sort of inherited that thing by default,” Lawrence explained. “Nobody else really wanted it. It was the ultimate demise of an already doomed marriage, but I got a gold record. Things happen for a reason. I got a gold record and I got the dog.”

Lawrence didn’t pursue a music career after her hit song, and for good reason.

“Because it was sort of such a bittersweet chapter in my life. I just wanted to go back to The Carol Burnett Show and be funny and have a good time,” she said.

While Cher's team passed on “Georgia” due to its dark subject matter and negative depiction of the South, she went on to release her own controversial song later in 1973. Titled “Half Breed,” Cher’s  No. 1 song later faced criticism for its portrayal of Native Americans.

Nearly two decades later, “The Night the Lights Went Out in Georgia” found a second life when Reba McEntire recorded it for her 1991 album For My Broken Heart and made it a country music hit.

Jack Antonoff is back on social media.

His latest posts are giving fans a glimpse at what he’s been up to professionally following his split from Margaret Qualley.

The Bleachers frontman, 42, returned to Instagram on Monday, July 27, sharing a series of photos and videos from the band’s current tour. The posts show Antonoff performing onstage and giving fans a behind-the-scenes look at life on the road.

The timing is notable because Antonoff has largely stayed focused on music as his personal life has made headlines.

Antonoff and Qualley, 31, separated earlier this month after nearly three years of marriage. PEOPLEconfirmed the split on July 8, after weeks of speculation surrounding the couple.

The breakup rumors began gaining traction after Antonoff attended Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s July 3 wedding without Qualley. Swift, 36, was among the celebrity guests at Antonoff and Qualley’s own 2023 wedding, making Qualley’s absence particularly noticeable.

Soon after, fans noticed that Qualley had removed several photos of the couple from Instagram, including wedding-related pictures, while Antonoff was photographed without his wedding ring.

Neither of those social-media changes was confirmation of a split on its own. But PEOPLE later reported that the couple had separated.

The former couple first became romantically linked in 2021. They got engaged in 2022 and married in August 2023 in New Jersey, where their wedding drew plenty of famous friends, including Swift, Lana Del Rey, Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz.

The relationship also became part of Antonoff’s music.

The Lana Del Rey song "Margaret" featuring the band was written about Qualley.

Antonoff's latest Bleachers album, everyone for ten minutes, was released in May. The album has been described as one of Antonoff’s more personal projects, with themes involving love, connection, grief and the complications of modern life.

Antonoff has continued touring with Bleachers in the weeks since his separation from Qualley.

His return to Instagram comes just days after PEOPLE reported that he was seen smiling during a July 23 dog walk in New York City, marking his first public appearance since news of the split broke. Qualley, meanwhile, has returned to work on the set of Possession, a remake of the 1981 horror film.

Despite the breakup, Qualley’s representatives have pushed back strongly against speculation about what caused it.

In a statement provided to PEOPLE, her representative said reports suggesting infidelity or trust problems were "categorically untrue," adding that there were "no trust issues" and "no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership" in the relationship. The statement also emphasized that the pair still have "deep love and care for one another" and asked for privacy.

More recently, Page Six reported that Antonoff and Qualley have no plans to reconcile, although they are continuing to communicate and treat each other respectfully.

For now, Antonoff’s Instagram return appears to be centered on what has always been a major part of his public life: music.

He has not publicly addressed the details of his split from Qualley.

Mick Jagger's 9-year-old son, Deveraux, is absolutely adorable alongside the legendary rocker and his fiancée, Melanie Hamrick.

The frontman of the Rolling Stones, who turned 83 on Sunday, got a shoutout from Hamrick, 38, on social media in honor of his birthday. However, it was sweet Deveraux, with his long blonde hair, who stole the show.

In the first photo, taken when the family was on vacation, Deveraux stands in front of his parents, who have their arms wrapped around him.

"Happy Birthday my love !!!❤️ To more adventures, laughs and fun!! 🥰❤️🥳," Hamrick captioned the family photo, which was followed by a series of shots of the couple together. From the red carpet to driving in the car with their pup, the duo looks very much in love.

The Duo Wore Bunny Ears In Jagger's Birthday Photo Last Year

For Jagger’s birthday last year, Hamrick shared a sweet photo of her two men alongside each other sporting bunny ears. (Swipe to the third photo in the slide to see the shot.)

“Happy Birthday!!!!🎊 ❤️🥳,” Hamrick captioned the three shots, which started with a photo of her alongside Jagger looking dapper in formal wear. In the second slide, the couple posed for the camera outside on what looked like a restaurant patio. But it was the third shot, which featured the adorable Deveraux mugging for the camera alongside his smiling dad, that made waves on social media.

While Jagger and Hamrick are engaged, they seem to have no official plans to get married.

Hamrick made it clear that the couple has no serious plans, but that doesn’t mean they may not pursue it in the future.

“We’ve been engaged two or three years,” Hamrick told Paris Match, a French publication, last year. “Maybe one day we’ll marry, maybe not. We are so happy in our current life that I would be too afraid to change anything.”

Hamrick continued by saying that what’s most important to the couple is that they’re there for each other no matter what. A retired ballerina and author, Hamrick has also always responded playfully when asked about her age gap with Jagger in the past.

“He’s younger than me,” Hamrick told Page Six, taking it in stride. “He’s amazing, really is.”

Despite the rumors, Mitch McConnell is very much alive. At least, according to a new pic and statement. And while the initial proof-of-life photo from his hospital bed only seemed to fuel the speculation, he recently released a new health update.

McConnell suffered a fall in June that left him briefly unconscious. The 84-year-old senator then battled what he called “a mild case of pneumonia.” Despite posting a photo of himself and his wife, Elaine Chao, on July 12, questions about the politician’s health swirled, and cynics asked if it was all a lie (or maybe even AI). 

While McConnell did explain in his initial statement, “You know how folks of my generation often hesitate to share the vulnerability that comes with growing older. Even in the public eye, I feel that same instinct—I can’t help it,” he’s remained mum since. 

McConnell’s office recently released a new photo of the Senator and his wife, posed in a similar way to the first pic (minus the newspaper) and an update: “I’m still working hard to get back to my full schedule of work in the Senate and in Kentucky, keeping up with intense physical therapy per my doctors’ orders.”

As of now, McConnell’s office has not provided a date for his return to the Senate floor. But his attending physician did say that McConnell “continues his recovery from a fall at home in June. He is not yet medically cleared to leave the rehab facility and return to the office.”

It seems as though the new proof-of-life photo isn’t convincing the public that McConnell is on the mend. When USA Today posted the pic on Instagram, commenters replied with, “What in the Weekend at Bernie’s is going on in America?”, “I don’t believe anything that’s not him on live TV,” and “They need to share a video of this man speaking or in some sort of physical movement.”

The comments weren’t much different on Reddit. “So he’s sitting up, lucid, smiling, and just in physical therapy, but no actual interviews, videos, or third-person verification. Got it”, “This is absolutely insane. I cannot believe we’re still doing this with a sitting senator,” and “Hey ChatGPT, put a different shirt on Mitch for today’s photo” illustrated the public’s disbelief. 

McConnell has yet to appear publicly in person or on video.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, roughly 14.3% of US adults ages 65 to 74 and 24.2% of adults 75 and older have diagnosed heart disease. The number of people with high blood pressure (hypertension) is even more startling. A full 72.8% of men ages 60 to 69 and 64.8% of women ages 60 to 69 have high blood pressure, according to the CDC.

If reversing or avoiding cardiovascular health conditions like these is one of your health goals, you likely already know the basics of eating with heart health in mind. Vegetables, whole grains, plant-based proteins and lean meats make up the bulk of your diet and you no longer season everything with salt the way you perhaps used to.  

Certainly, what you eat and drink is hugely important for heart health. But it’s not just what’s on the table that matters. There’s a very high likelihood that a common kitchen staple is in your pantry or fridge that could be increasing your blood pressure and risk for heart disease without you even realizing it.

The Common Kitchen Item That Could Be Bad for Your Heart

According to a scientific article published in Nature Reviews Cardiology, regular high exposure to bisphenol A (BPA) can cause a sharp increase in blood pressure and inflammation and increase the risk of heart disease. 

BPA is an industrial chemical and one way it’s commonly used is to coat the interior of metal cans to prevent corrosion and increase shelf life. That means if you regularly eat foods from BPA-lined cans or drink beverages in BPA-lined cans, you could unknowingly be increasing your risk of high blood pressure and heart disease.

“BPA is an endocrine-disrupting chemical that can impair the normal function of blood vessels. It increases oxidative stress, reduces nitric oxide—the molecule that keeps arteries relaxed—and promotes constriction of vessels. These changes can temporarily increase vascular resistance and blood pressure,” says Dr. Sanjay Rajagopalan, MD, MBA, FACC, FAHA, a cardiologist and a professor of cardiovascular medicine at Case Western Reserve University’s School of Medicine.

To this point, according to a study published in Hypertension, people who consumed beverages in cans with BPA had a urinary concentration of more than 1,600% compared to people who consumed beverages in glass bottles. 

On top of that, Dr. Rajagopalan notes that experimental studies suggest BPA can alter calcium handling and electrical signaling in heart cells, potentially leading to abnormal heart rhythms. “Most of this mechanistic evidence comes from laboratory and animal studies, while human evidence remains more limited,” he says.

How Much of a Risk Is It?

While scientific research does show a connection between regular BPA exposure and a risk to heart health, it’s important to keep this risk in perspective. “For most people, eating an occasional food from a BPA-lined can is unlikely to cause harm. The concern is with repeated, long-term exposure from multiple sources, particularly in individuals with hypertension, cardiovascular disease, diabetes or kidney disease,” Dr. Rajagopalan says.

There’s still a lot we don’t know about how BPA exposure impacts health. While studies do show that consuming foods and drinks from BPA-lined cans can raise urinary BPA levels and a small increase in blood pressure shortly after consuming, Dr. Rajagopalan explains that whether these short-term changes translate into meaningful long-term cardiovascular risk is still being studied. 

“Overall, BPA should be viewed as a modifiable environmental risk factor, not one of the major drivers of cardiovascular disease like smoking, hypertension or high cholesterol,” he says.

How To Lower Your Risk

Besides cans, Dr. Rajagopalan says that other common household items containing BPA include polycarbonate food containers and older reusable plastic bottles, plastic containers exposed to heat and some epoxy coatings used in bottle caps, jar lids and water pipes.

The best way to lower your risk is to use glass instead of plastic whenever possible. “Fortunately, most food and beverage manufacturers have moved away from BPA-containing can linings in the US,” he says. 

However, he specifies that “BPA-free” doesn’t always mean risk-free. “Some manufacturers replaced BPA with closely related chemicals such as BPS or BPF, a phenomenon known as ‘regrettable substitution.’ These compounds may have similar endocrine-disrupting properties. The good news is that most modern BPA-free cans now use non-bisphenol coatings, such as polyester, acrylic, olefin or oleoresin-based linings, which appear more promising from a toxicologic standpoint, although long-term human safety data are still evolving,” he tells Parade.

Consuming foods or liquids stored in BPA-lined cans is something to be mindful of, but it bears repeating that its impact on heart health is still much lower than risks, such as smoking or regularly consuming foods or drinks that can raise cholesterol or blood pressure. 

Reduce your exposure when you can, but don’t obsess over it. After all, stress is bad for your heart too.

Emma Roberts celebrated a major milestone over the weekend, but her father, actor Eric Roberts, was not among the family members gathered for her Idaho wedding.

The American Horror Story star, 35, married actor Cody John in an intimate outdoor ceremony on Saturday, July 25, at a private residence in Sun Valley, Idaho. Her aunt, Julia Roberts, attended the wedding with her husband, Danny Moder, while Emma’s 5-year-old son, Rhodes, walked her down the aisle.

Eric, 70, was notably absent from the celebration.

The actor has now addressed his decision to miss the wedding, telling Page Six that he continues to love his daughter and supports the choices she makes. The comments come amid years of public speculation about the father-daughter relationship.

Eric and Emma’s relationship has been complicated in the public eye for years, though Eric pushed back against the idea that they are simply estranged during an April 2026 appearance on the Really Famous With Kara Mayer Robinson podcast.

When the subject of Emma came up, Eric rejected the notion that their relationship could easily be characterized from the outside.

"It’s only complicated through outside eyes," he said previously. "I’m so proud of my kid."

He went on to praise Emma’s acting career, saying she "became a great actor" and calling her "fabulous."

That was a notable change in tone from comments Eric made about their relationship in 2024.

While promoting his memoir Runaway Train: Or, The Story of My Life So Far, Eric described the "loss of relationship" with Emma as one of the toughest periods of his life. He said there was "sadness" over what he described as a likely lifelong misunderstanding between the two of them.

Eric has also been candid about his own shortcomings as a father.

In his memoir, he wrote about struggling with the realities of becoming a parent after Emma was born in 1991. He and Emma’s mother, Kelly Cunningham, split when Emma was young, and Emma was primarily raised by her mother.

Still, Eric has repeatedly emphasized his pride in his daughter.

That makes his absence from her wedding notable, particularly because other members of the Roberts family were there. Julia, Emma’s aunt, attended the ceremony with Danny Moder, and the actress has spoken fondly about her relationship with her famous aunt over the years.

Emma’s wedding itself was an intimate affair at Cody’s family estate in Sun Valley.

The couple began dating in 2022 and announced their engagement in July 2024. John, 36, is also an actor, with credits including Wu-Tang: An American Saga and In the Dark.

Emma shares Rhodes with her former partner Garrett Hedlund. The actress and John have generally kept their relationship private, making their wedding a particularly personal milestone.

What Causes Puffiness and Dark Circles Under the Eyes?

According to Dr. Wu, there are a few reasons for these common eye issues. "For puffiness, common causes are allergies, lack of sleep and heredity," she says, adding that for dark circles, two common causes are thin skin and hyperpigmentation.

"The thinner the under-eye skin, the more you can see the muscle tissues and blood vessels underneath. This makes the area look dark," she says. "In some patients, sun damage can lead to hyperpigmentation in this area, especially right at the top of the under-eye socket."

What’s the Difference Between Retinol, Retinal and Bakuchiol Eye Creams?

Dr. Guo explains that both retinol and retinal are over-the-counter retinoid creams. They exist in "the same pathway," as retinol is converted to retinal and then into the active form retinoic acid, also known as tretinoin. "Retinal is thus stronger than retinol but also generally carries a slightly higher risk of irritation," he tells Parade.

He adds that the plant-based "bakuchiol is shown through smaller studies to have similar benefits of retinoids but does not cause the potential for irritation," he says. "It can safely be combined with retinoids but is not as effective."

How To Apply Eye Cream Correctly for the Best Results

Dr. Wu recommends applying eye creams with your ring finger for a lighter pressure "while gently sweeping under the eye from inner to outer corner."

Avoid these 2 common eye cream mistakes

• Using too much pressure: "A lot of the time, there may be too much pressure being applied to the under-eye, causing the skin to stretch over time or potentially breaking blood vessels," says Dr. Wu. "Be sure to not press or sweep too hard, as the skin underneath the eye is very delicate and thin.
• Using too much product: "Using too much eye cream can lead to hard white milia cysts," says Dr. Wu. Dr. Guo recommends using a product amount about the size of about a grain of rice to avoid overdoing it.

Can Eye Creams Really Depuff and Brighten Tired Eyes?

"Certain ingredients, such as caffeine, may help depuff and brighten tired eyes," says Dr. Wu, explaining that you can also keep your eye creams refrigerated for the best results.

"The cold temperature also helps shrink puffiness," she says.

Dr. Guo adds that barrier creams, which are "richer moisturizers formulated to focus on barrier repair" can also help with "irritation and chronic dark spots."

The publication argued that The Dark Tower VII: The Dark Tower deserved the title of the "best book of the 21st century" because King masterfully wrote a satisfying conclusion to such a beloved fantasy series. Stephen King Shared What Inspired His 'Dark Tower' Books in a June 2026 Interview

In a June 2026 interview on the horror and true crime podcast, The Last Podcast on the Left, alongside his son and fellow author, Joe Hill, King briefly spoke about his Dark Tower series. King shared that he took inspiration from the classic spaghetti Westerns of the '60s when writing the books' protagonist, gunslinger Roland Deschain.

"I was a big fan of western movies, period. And I tried to get in a lot of the things that those books and movies were based on. You know, the idea that the guy has to be alone and he has to be a hero. Although in the early books, Roland isn't very much of a hero. He's actually kind of a bad guy," said King during the podcast interview.

Hill also shared he's a big fan of the Dark Tower series.

"They're kind of like the unified theory of the Stephen King world, you know, and because it picks up so many threads from all the other books. And it's almost like a nervous system running through the whole body of Dad's work, and they're just such great reads. They're just so much fun and such a terrific cast of characters," said the Horns author in the June 2026 interview.

Nearly six months after her mother, Nancy Guthrie, disappeared, Savannah Guthrie is making another emotional plea to whoever may know what happened.

In a video shared to Instagram on Monday, July 27, the Today co-anchor spoke directly to the person responsible, saying she has a “very specific message” for whomever has taken her mother.

"It has been months since our mom was taken from us," Savannah began. "Our family is in agony. We are in a nightmare that will not end."

She went on to explain that despite the passing months, the family's determination has never wavered. “Nothing about our situation has changed. We have done our part. And we will never stop looking for her. We will always ache for her and feel that hole in our hearts," she said before taking a deep breath.

She ended the video with one final plea: "I truly believe it is never too late to do the right thing…Please make the right choice."

How long has Nancy Guthrie been missing?

Nancy, 84, disappeared from her Tucson, Arizona, home on January 31. Investigators have said they believe she was abducted after surveillance footage showed a masked individual near her home before she vanished. Authorities have continued to investigate the case alongside the FBI, but no arrests have been announced.

Just last week, journalist Briana Whitney read one of the alleged ransom notes on the Crime Junkie podcast, though questions remain about its legitimacy. While Reuters previously reported that an FBI official said the notes were not legitimate, TMZ's Harvey Levin disputed that claim, saying his FBI sources believed they were "more likely than not" real. The FBI later clarified that some of the ransom notes were extortion attempts while others remain under investigation.
