The raised structure plays an important role in that comfort. Instead of sitting directly on the floor, the bed is slightly raised to give your pet a place to relax above the ground. That position, along with the breathable and durable fabric, improves air circulation to help your dog stay cool even when temperatures spike.

That comfort factor is crucial to getting good rest. Because it's elevated, the bed minimizes pressure on joints. This kind of orthopedic support can be especially helpful to pets who are injured, arthritic, or older. The frame is made from powder-coated steel, a light yet sturdy material that provides reliable stability for your pet.

Designed to support up to 100 pounds, it's an excellent option for a larger canine. It's also convenient for pet parents, weighing only 8 pounds and easy to move from one spot to another. Because the frame is resistant to moisture and pests, it will stay in great shape even if exposed to wet weather. The fabric cover can be cleaned with a quick hose down.

With over 2,200 five-star reviews, the bed has earned widespread praise for these features and its ease of assembly, with most noting it was quick to put together. One reviewer commented that it helped their dog "sleep and relax peacefully," adding that it brought noticeable "relief." Another described it as "very sturdy and durable" and said that it "lasts for years."

Savannah Guthrie’s Mom Nancy Update: Investigators ‘Close to an Arrest,’ Former FBI Agent Speculates

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:54am

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing going on six weeks after the abduction from her Tucson, Ariz., home—however, a former FBI agent speculated that investigators are "close to an arrest."

In a Tuesday, March 11, Jennifer Coffindaffer, a retired FBI special agent, took to X with a bold prediction about the 84-year-old's case.

"Wondering why Sheriff Nanos keeps turning away proven very capable civilian search experts like EquuSearch and the real Cajun Navy?" she wrote, referencing the Pima County Sheriff's Department (PCSD) and the lead investigator, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, rejecting search plans from the United Cajun Navy and other groups as the search for Nancy continues.

Coffindaffer continued, "Is LE [law enforcement] close to an arrest and they know what happened to Nancy so they don't want to waste the valuable resources of these groups? But why won't the sheriff at least acknowledge these groups? Half glass full. Hoping LE is getting closer."

On This Day in 1968, 'The Monkees' Episode Was Crashed by a Music Icon

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:53am

The Monkees TV series featured countless guest stars, but one music icon famously crashed an episode, creating an unforgettable television moment.

Frank Zappa was known as a bold and unpredictable artist who never played by the music industry's rules. It was that same fearless unpredictability that made his guest spot on The Monkees so remarkable on March 11, 1968.

Zappa built a career on defying convention, yet even his most experimental approaches t music couldn’t stop hits like “Don’t Eat Yellow Snow” from reaching audiences. Monkees member Mike Nesmith had a similar sense of humor, and the two men formed an off-screen friendship.

Nesmith and Zappa faced one another in the bit, with Zappa dressed in The Monkees' Season 1 costumes, while Nesmith wore a frizzy wig and prosthetic nose. Each mimicked the other as Zappa interviewed Nesmith.

Zappa appeared in the penultimate episode of the series titled “The Monkees Blow Their Minds.” As the cold open ended, the musician “played” a car like an instrument by smashing it and setting it on fire to the Mothers of Invention song "Mother People."

In the Harold Bronson book, Hey, Hey, We’re The Monkees, Nesmith spoke of how he was able to secure Zappa’s appearance on the show.

“I asked Frank Zappa if he would guest on the show,” Nesmith said. “He said, ‘I’ll answer you only if I can have your part.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s fine. If you come on the show and be me, then I’ll be you.’ So I dressed him up in a shirt and gave him a wool hat so he’d look like me.”

In 1967, reflecting on the creation of The Monkees, Zappa told The Fifth Estate Newspaper, “America is designed for things like that, consumer-oriented products. The Monkees are not a bad consumer product, which is not to say it’s bad if you go for that product."

He added, "The Monkees fulfilled a need of young teenage girls. Fortunately, America is so screwed up that the Monkees will continue to be popular for another 15 or 20 minutes. Then Hollywood will manufacture another group.”

However, Zappa thought highly of the band's members, which included Nesmith, Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones, and Peter Tork. He was friendly with Nesmith and even offered Dolenz a job to drum for The Mothers of Invention after the series ended.

Exactly How Many Times a Week To Do Balance Exercises To Prevent Falls

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:50am

When it comes to exercise, you likely already know the importance of doing cardio-based workouts regularly to support your heart health. And you're probably aware that strength training is important, too, since muscle mass and bone density naturally decline with age. But you might not think much about working on your balance.

Balance is something else that naturally decreases with age, which increases the risk for falls. Dr. Milica McDowell, DPT, a doctor of physical therapy and exercise physiologist at US Physical Therapy, says that balance is a combination of the sharpness of the vestibular (inner ear), vision and proprioceptive system (the tiny receptors in the bottoms of your feet, in your joints and in your tendons). She explains that all three become less sensitive as we age, which leads to a decrease in balance.

Related: This Simple Walking Trick Can Improve Balance and Boost Longevity

Harry Cox, CPT, a certified personal trainer and founder of ClubQ, agrees. “As we get older, several of the systems that contribute to balance deteriorate: our sight worsens, muscle strength decreases and we become less able to sense where our body is in space. On top of that, our brain’s ability to combine all this information worsens, increasing the risk of balance-related injuries,” he explains.

Cox adds that having good balance is one of the keys to feeling sturdy and capable in your own body, explaining, “A lack of balance increases your risk of injury from falling, which becomes increasingly likely as you get older."

To this point, according to the World Health Organization, 684,000 fatal falls occur each year, making it the second leading cause of unintentional injury death, after road traffic injuries.

This is why doing regular balance exercises is key. Keep reading to see the best exercises for improving balance as well as guidance on how often you should do them.

The 5 Best Exercises To Improve Balance

Here are the five exercises to prioritize, according to a physical therapist and a personal trainer.

1. Standing with your eyes closed

Dr. McDowell explains that if you stand with your eyes closed (while holding on to a counter or railing, if you need to), you can start to feel the three points of contact in your foot (big toe, little toe and heel) as well as your natural body sway, which she says is a normal corrective motion the body does when you take away your visual input. This simple exercise will give you more awareness of your body in space and improve balance without solely relying on your vision.

Here's a step-by-step guide:

  1. With bare feet, stand with your feet hip-width distance apart while holding onto a countertop or railing.
  2. Close your eyes and, as long as you feel safe to do so, let go of the counter or railing.
  3. Notice the slight rocking from side to side or front to back, which is called your “body sway” and is a normal corrective process that your body is doing in order to maintain upright balance. After 30 seconds to 1 minute, open your eyes.

2. Standing heel-to-toe

“Standing heel to toe is a valuable exercise that is called ‘tandem stance,’” Dr. McDowell says. “By reducing the base of support and bringing your feet heel-to-toe like you're standing on a balance beam, you challenge your balance in new ways. This is something we call a ‘novel task’ and can be really beneficial for those who want to work on improving their balance.”

Here's how to do it:

  1. Stand up straight, holding a railing or countertop for support. Once you feel stable, close your eyes.
  2. Place one foot directly in front of the other, with the heel touching the toes of your other foot.
  3. Engage your core and keep your knees soft. Remain standing this way for 30 seconds to 1 minute. Then switch, putting the other foot in front.
3. Toe lift-spread-reach

Dr. McDowell explains that this exercise works to improve balance by improving the brain-body connection at the foot level. “It’s very much a balance boosting exercise,” she says, adding that it helps improve the strength of the tiny muscles in your feet as well as your awareness.

Here's how to do it:

  1. With bare feet and while seated, lift all of your toes up off the ground. Keep your heels on the ground as you do this.
  2. Spread out your toes, trying to get space between each toe. Then, set your toes on the ground.
  3. Repeat this exercise for 1 minute.

4. Stand on one leg

“My favorite way to train your balance is simply by standing on one leg,” Cox explains. The reason why he likes this exercise is that you can progress or regress as much as you need. If you are having trouble balancing while standing on one leg, Cox says to make the exercise easier by holding onto a wall, counter or chair while you do it. Once that feels easy, you can progress to standing on one leg without holding on to anything for support.

“To progress further, you can add movement. Do this by moving the floating leg slowly forward and backward,” Cox says. Ready for the ultimate challenge? Close your eyes as you do it.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Stand up straight and slowly lift one leg off the floor. Hold on to a chair, countertop or wall for extra support, if you feel unsteady.
  2. If you feel confident, slowly move your floating leg forward and backward.
  3. If you’re still feeling confident, close your eyes and continue slowly moving your floating leg forward and backward.
  4. After 30 seconds to 1 minute, bring your floating leg to the ground and repeat with the other leg in the air.
5. Step-up

Cox explains that another great way to improve balance is by using a step-up bench or walking up and down stairs without holding on to anything for support, noting that this helps improve both balance and leg strength.

Here's how to do it:

  1. Stand behind a step-up exercise bench.
  2. Without holding on to anything for support, step up onto the bench.
  3. Step back down and repeat by stepping up with the other leg. Continue alternating which leg you step up with for 1 minute.
How Often You Need To Do Balance Exercises To Lower Your Risk of Falls

If you truly want to improve your balance and reduce your risk of falls, Dr. McDowell recommends doing balance exercises, like the five above, every single day. She says even spending just five to 10 minutes a day doing them is enough to be beneficial.

More Tips for Improving Balance

Dr. McDowell also suggests doing balance exercises barefoot.

“The more distance between your bare foot and the surface you're standing on, the harder it is to feel the ground and let the receptors in the bottom of your foot do their jobs. The receptors in the bottom of the foot talk directly to your brain, so when you can't sense the ground as well, it's hard to get good information up to your brain,” she explains.

To ensure that you’re truly improving your balance, Cox notes that balance exercises should get progressively more challenging. He adds that it’s also important to be consistent. “You can’t expect to do balance exercises for six weeks and then never need to worry about your balance again; you either use it or you lose it. That’s why making it a consistent habit is far more important than having an all-or-nothing approach,” he says.

While balance exercises can help decrease the risk of falls, Cox explains that strength-based exercises are important too. “The balance training is going to improve your body’s ability to react to any instability, but you then need enough strength to prevent yourself from falling,” he says.

Losing your sense of balance as you age isn’t inevitable. You just have to consciously work at it, which is where the aforementioned balance exercises come in handy. Do them regularly and your risk of falls will decrease, no matter how old you are.

How ‘The Voice of Hind Rajab’ Turns a Devastating Phone Call Into One of the Year’s Most Powerful Films (Exclusive)

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:37am

In an awards season filled with celebration and red-carpet moments, The Voice of Hind Rajab stands apart as a film that is incredibly difficult to watch but impossible to forget. Directed by Kaouther Ben Hania, the film focuses on the heartbreaking story of Hind Rajab, a young Palestinian girl whose last recorded phone call during the war in Gaza shocked people around the world. Rather than showing graphic images of violence, the film relies on sound, silence, and the power of Hind’s own voice.

Listening to those recordings becomes the emotional center of the experience, allowing the audience to feel the fear, helplessness, and humanity behind the tragedy. The film doesn’t behave like a typical war movie. Instead, it feels more like a quiet act of remembering someone whose life was cut short. Since its release, the film has sparked powerful conversations about war, empathy, and responsibility, and its Academy Award nomination has helped bring Hind’s story to a much wider global audience.

In an exclusive interview with Parade Magazine, Ben Hania opened up about the emotional and creative decisions behind The Voice of Hind Rajab, and why she decided to center the film around Hind’s real voice. Moreover, she didn't shy away from talking about the difficult ethical questions that come with revisiting real tragedy and how Hind's family reacted when they got to know that she wanted to make a film on the tragic incident.

Your film has now been nominated for an Academy Award. How are you and your team processing this kind of global recognition for such a deeply painful and urgent story?

Kaouther Ben Hania: I think the fact that the movie is nominated says a lot about how things are shifting, at least within the Academy of the Oscars. I’m very grateful to all the voters and Academy members who watched the movie, listened to the voice of Hind Rajab, bore witness, and recognized it as an important film worthy of being nominated. Because my idea when I started making this movie was to find a way to make the voice of this little girl echo beyond frontiers, all over the world. And I think the platform of the Oscars is a great place to put her voice at the center and to say that there was a girl in Gaza called Hind Rajab. She loved the sea, but she couldn’t go to the sea and live her life—go to school with her brother, be with her mother—because she was atrociously killed by the Israelis.

Many viewers feel the film functions almost like forensic testimony rather than narrative cinema. Did you consciously structure the film as a kind of cinematic “evidence file,” and how do you see cinema operating as a tool of accountability?

Kaouther Ben Hania: No, I didn’t want to, how to say, make a forensic film. This is what you say, because the forensic work was already done. I mean, I couldn’t make a movie purely from my imagination, for example, because it’s a real story. And because of all this body of work done by Forensic Architecture, for example, and by other media outlets, I could say that if you want proof, you can find the proof through these organizations and on the internet. But starting from that point, I wanted to take cinema somewhere else. You know this happened—okay, this happened.

I don’t want to show you only what happened, but also what it meant to the people who went through this horrible crime. Especially because we are talking about Hind. We have her recording, but we also have those who listened—the Red Crescent employees. And she can’t go to the sea, live her life, go to school with her brother, or be with her mother.

Most war films rely on visuals of destruction, but your film relies on sound design and the absence of imagery. Technically speaking, how did you construct the soundscape so that Hind’s voice becomes the film’s emotional and moral center?

Kaouther Ben Hania: I was already given something very strong, which is the recording of the last moments of Hind. This was a very, very heart-wrenching document. And because I had this document, I needed to put it at the center of the movie and take care of her voice. And in this movie, as you said, everything—everything about what was happening to Hind—is already in those recordings. So my job was not to do the mise-en-scène of what is said in the recording, but to add another space. Because sound is already a space, you know; you already have images within that sound. That’s why I felt like I didn’t need to create a spectacle of war around the death of this child.

I needed to be with those who tried to save her, because for me, they are also very important. Through their point of view, we can see the systemic violence—how their job is to save lives and how they can’t. Not because they don’t want to—they do—but because the laws imposed by the occupation on them are designed in such a way that if they respect the laws, they are killed, and if they don’t respect the laws, they are also killed. It’s cruel both ways. And she can’t go to the sea and have her life in her school with her brother and her mother.

The film operates in a fascinating space between narrative storytelling and documentary realism, especially with its use of reenactments paired with authentic audio. In a time when audiences are increasingly questioning cinematic authenticity, how do you approach the idea of truth in filmmaking? When does reconstruction risk become interpretation?

Kaouther Ben Hania: I think that for this story specifically, I could have done it as a pure documentary, let’s say. But a documentary would only tell what happened. I needed the narrative element, so I brought in an actor to reenact what happened and add another layer—the meaning of what happened and the impact it had on those people. And the fact that it gives me the possibility to tell this movie in the present tense is also important—not as something that happened in the past, but as something that is happening. And let’s live together with the audience, how it happened and how it is still happening, in a way.

When films like The Voice of Hind Rajab or your earlier work Four Daughters take a clear political stance, some critics argue that they risk being viewed more as activism than as cinema. We saw similar debates last year around the distribution struggles of No Other Land. Do you think this criticism misunderstands the historic role of cinema as both an artistic and political medium?

Kaouther Ben Hania: I think that this is, how to say, like trying to dismiss these kinds of movies. I mean, for example, I’ll give you an example. There is a filmmaker called Peter Watkins. He made a movie called The Bomb about the bombing of the UK because of the fear of nuclear war, something we are also experiencing right now. His movie is very political, you know, but it is still cinema. So I don’t agree with critics when they say that cinema should not be political. We are political creatures. So if you talk about a human being, you are talking about politics, whether you want it or not. So we should at least try to assume it.

Jour2Fete

When telling a story that has become globally symbolic of civilian suffering, did you ever fear that Hind Rajab might be reduced to a symbol rather than a child, and how did you fight against that narrative flattening?

Kaouther Ben Hania: You know, you make a movie because you can’t tell the thousands and thousands and thousands of stories of all the people killed, the civilians. So you always end up telling one story. And through this one story, you try to give a snippet of what is happening behind it. You give the audience this space so they can multiply the pain they feel for her with all those numbers of civilians. So yeah, I mean, Hind Rajab and her mother and her family didn’t want her to become a symbol. She’s a little girl, you know. But what happened to her went beyond her person and became something that speaks about the genocide. So yeah, she became a symbol, whether we want it or not.

But that’s why in the movie I kept her child’s voice, you know. She talks about her school, and she talks about being in the butterfly class. Those are things of children.

You chose to make this film very quickly after the event occurred. Some filmmakers would argue that distance is necessary for historical clarity. Why did urgency matter more than temporal distance for you?

Kaouther Ben Hania: There are two choices, you know. People who talk like this are often thinking about World War II movies, because those movies came later, after everything had already happened. But after the Second World War, there was a huge change—we had trials for the criminals, we had accountability, and many other processes. I don’t think that in the case of the Palestinians, this will happen in two, three, or five years. I hope so, but we don’t know.

Ammar Abd Rabbo

So the idea was to make a movie right now, so that this film can help with accountability. When I talk about accountability, I remember when I spoke to her mother for the first time. She told me, “I want justice for my daughter. And if this film can help in a way, please do it.”

So there is something about being part of change now, rather than waiting for change that may or may not happen. And I don’t think it will happen like that, you know—waiting in a comfortable place and then making a movie about something that happened in the past, when everybody already regrets it, and everybody is against it. That is a more comfortable position for me as a filmmaker, but it’s not the best position for what is happening in Gaza.

The decision to use Hind Rajab’s real voice is one of the most devastating elements of the film. At the same time, bringing such moments back into the public sphere could potentially be painful for her family. Did you ever struggle with that ethical dilemma while making the film?

Kaouther Ben Hania: The first thing I did, before even making the decision, was to talk to Hind’s mother. If she had told me she didn’t want it, or if she had even hesitated, I wouldn’t have done it. That was the decision. But Hind’s mother wanted her daughter not to be forgotten—not to become just another number, another child under the rubble, under the bullets. She wanted her daughter to be remembered. She is behind the movie, and she is also an advocate for the children in Gaza. So it’s a totally different position, you know. She’s a very strong woman.

She wanted this movie to be made. I was talking about justice, and she wants justice for her daughter. She’s not just a mother overwhelmed only by pain and grief. Of course, she carries that pain and grief, but because she’s an incredible woman, she is transforming her grief and her pain into strength. She is even starting a charity to help the children of Gaza. So she deeply wanted this movie to be done. The whole family, the extended family, watched the movie. And the people from the Red Crescent, because they had many colleagues killed and murdered by the Israeli, they also wanted this story to be told.

You’ve said that cinema can break through indifference and restore empathy toward victims of war. But realistically, do you believe a film can influence geopolitical accountability, or is its power ultimately symbolic?

Kaouther Ben Hania: Yeah, I’m not sure that a film can influence geopolitics. I mean, you see it—we have a war right now. And a week ago, there was a school full of young girls like Hind Rajab who were killed, again and again. So this movie didn’t prevent anything. But as I said, the influence of a movie is different. It works more in the long term, in the shifting of opinion, because it changes the way you look at things. It affects the imagination, the way we see the world. And this is something very precious.

You can’t see its effect right now, because the world is going crazy. But at least we have a voice saying this is crazy. And I show in this movie how horrible it is, and that you simply can’t do this.

WILLA

After spending years immersed in this tragedy and repeatedly hearing Hind’s final words during editing and sound design, how did this project affect you personally—and did it change the way you think about filmmaking itself?

Kaouther Ben Hania: Yes, I mean, every movie I did changed me in a very deep way. That's why I'm doing movies, because every movie is a new experience. And this is a very, very hard one, a hard experience, and a very big responsibility. It changed, I think, my belief in cinema; like before, I wasn't sure that cinema could affect people and could be a strong tool to change them. But while I was screening this movie and meeting the audience, a lot of people told me this movie changed me in a very deep way. And this is something very beautiful for a filmmaker to say. So it gave me faith back in the power of cinema.

The #1 Hair Mistake a Celebrity Stylist Says Can Make Thinning Look Worse

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Thinning hair is a common issue for men and women, and nothing to be ashamed of, but certain habits and styles can make hair look thinner than it is. Whether your hair has become less full due to age, overstyling, illness or certain medications, hair loss may also be accentuated due to the wrong haircut or style.

There's no reason you should know all the tips and tricks—we can't all be experts in everything. Superb styling tends to be learned from a master, and as we all learned during COVID-19, great haircuts require skilled hands.

To understand the best ways to style thinning hair, as well as what not to do, we spoke to celebrity hairstylist Kenna Kennor, who has styled hair for magazine covers and at Fashion Weeks in New York, Paris, London and Milan. He has worked with A-list stars like Victoria Beckham, Gigi Hadid, Lily Collins, Olivia Palermo, Britt Lower and Stephanie Hsu. He also founded Kennaland, an award-winning salon in Brooklyn.

"I feel it's important to hear that thinning hair is incredibly common, and it's nothing to feel embarrassed about. I see it every day in my chair," Kennor says. "The key is working with your hair, not against it."

What Is the Difference Between Fine and Thin Hair?

"This is such an important distinction," Kennor says. For fine hair, "the diameter of each strand is small. For thin hair, the density of number of strands is low."

That means you can have fine but dense hair, thick hair with low density, or both fine and thin hair.

"Your routine will change depending on which one you have, so a professional consultation really matters," he adds.

The biggest mistake to avoid? "Trying to compensate by growing it longer," Kennor says.

"I understand the instinct, but longer hair often makes thinning more noticeable," he continues. "Proper shaping and layering almost always create the illusion of more density."

He advises against very long, one-length hair that "can drag the hair down and make ends look stringy."

To get the right cut, Kennor recommends going to a trusted, patient hairdresser who can advise you. "All good salons offer a free consultation,so get as much advice as you can," he says.

4 Other Common Mistakes To Avoid With Thinning Hair1. Overusing Heavy Products

Everyday washing and styling habits can unintentionally highlight thinning, Kennor says, explaining, "Avoid overusing heavy conditioners or oils at the roots—they weigh hair down and separate strands, exposing more scalp."

Also stay away from thick creams or anything that makes hair clump together, he says.

You can use a clarifying shampoo to avoid product buildup, which can otherwise "clog follicles and affect how hair grows and sits."

2. Treating Hair Aggressively

"Aggressive brushing or rough towel drying can cause breakage, especially if your hair is fragile," Kennor says. Teasing the hair excessively at the same spot, or overuse of heat styling tools can also make thin hair look worse.

"Overly flat-ironed hair that lies close to the scalp can emphasize sparse areas," he warns. "A gentle touch, low tension, low heat and lift at the root are your best friends."

In addition, very tight ponytails or slicked-back buns can reveal more scalp and even contribute to hair loss over time, he says. "It's not that you can't wear these styles, just soften the tension. Hair powders like Color Wow can help add volume at the roots when you do pull hair back."

3. Skipping Regular Haircuts

If you don't get regular haircuts, "wispy, uneven ends make hair look thinner than it is," Kennor says. "It's about expertly tweaking—not eliminating—styles. Get a haircut that suits you and your hair texture. With a proper consultation, you can gain so much confidence."

4. Heavy Hair Extensions

Kennor recommends avoiding hair extensions that weigh down or damage your natural hair.

"In my experience, using a smaller weight of hair with each connection to your existing hair causes less damage," he says. "Heavy extensions create constant tension and pulling at the root, which can lead to breakage and traction hair loss—especially when you already have fine or thinning hair. The key is working with your stylist to choose lightweight methods with thinner wefts that distribute weight evenly, rather than putting stress on individual sections."

What Styles Are Best for Thinning Hair?

Styles that create movement, softness in the layers and bluntness in the perimeter are best for thinning hair, Kennor says. He recommends:

Final Takeaways

"It's important to remember, thinning hair does not mean unattractive hair," Kennor says. "With the right cut, styling and care, hair can look modern, chic and full of life."

In addition to a good haircut, he suggests: "Add subtle color dimension—soft highlights can create depth and make hair look thicker."

To improve hair quality, Kennor says to prioritize the scalp health with "gentle exfoliation and massage—but always see a dermatologist if shedding feels sudden or excessive."

Beloved ‘80s TV Couple Named One of the ‘Best Sitcom Couples’ of All Time — But Their Ending Was Shocking

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:32am

Roseanne and Dan Conner were just named one of the “Best Sitcom Couples” of all time by TVLine. In the March 2026 ranking list, the characters played by Roseanne Barr and John Goodman for 10 seasons on the Emmy-winning  ABCsitcom were listed among legendary TV couples such as All in the Family’s Archie and Edith Bunker, and I Love Lucy’s Lucy and Ricky Ricardo.

TVLine credited the “loud” and “imposing” Barr for finding her match with Goodman on the Roseanne series. “Goodman's towering physicality and gentle-yet-firm giant nature proved the perfect yin to Roseanne's yang,” the outlet shared of the working class couple. "Roseanne and Dan met heartbreak with humor and acidic barbs where appropriate. … We never doubted that the characters loved each other, even as they got on one another's last nerves on a regular basis."

Roseanne’s original run went from 1988 to 1997, during which the working-class couple weathered financial woes before scoring a lottery win. The final episode was controversial when it was implied that the events of the ninth season were all a dream. Thirty years after the series premiere, Dan and Roseanne were still together for the one-season Roseanne revival in 2018, but it would be short-lived.

An unexpected end

In 2018, the popular Roseanne revival, which showed the expanded Conner family decades later, was cut short when Barr was involved in a racist Twitter scandal, per Variety.  Barr was canceled—literally. She was booted from the sitcom that bore her name, and her iconic character was killed off in a spinoff series, The Conners. The other OG cast members—Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, and Lecy Goranson—moved on to a seven-season run on The Conners.

Barr, 73, revealed she felt betrayed by her former co-stars. "No, I'm not friends with none of them. They're all in the past,” she told Fox News Digital in June 2025. “And no, we don't talk. I've moved on from that horrendous ending and chapter of my life, but you know, I don't hold any bitterness or nothing to them, but my God, what fun we had on that show. And I was sorry they f---ed it all up with their greed and ridiculous stupidity. … F--k them, but I wish them well," she added.

Weeks later, Goodman told The Hollywood Reporter that his relationship with his longtime TV wife was indeed over. “I’d rather doubt if she wants to talk to me. We haven’t talked for about seven or eight years,” he said in July.

Well before their public falling out, Barr was upset with Goodman—way back when the second season of Roseanne aired in the late ‘90s. During a March 2026  episode of The Roseanne BarrPodcast, the former ABC star revealed she took offense to Goodman's decision to cut back his appearances on Roseanne during the show’s later seasons.

"I don't think I heard it from his agent, I think I heard it from the producers of the show actually [that] he doesn't want to be on the show anymore," she recalled. "I think they said he'll do six of the 24 or something like that."

“None of them supported me in any of the s--- I went through the first show, and I just had to sweep it aside and do the show. Always," the Roseanne star added of her longtime TV family. "I kind of learned to not speak to anybody on the set when we were filming in a one-to-one personal thing. I was always the character. When we went to work, I was always the character.”

Who Is Jamie Lee Curtis’ Husband? All About Her Marriage to Christopher Guest

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:30am

It feels like Jamie Lee Curtis has been in the spotlight her whole life. The youngest daughter of tinseltown royalty, Janet Leigh and Tony Curtis, Jamie Lee began acting professionally when she was a teenager and made her own name in Hollywood in the 1970s and ‘80s as film’s reigning “scream queen” thanks to John Carpenter-directed classicsHalloween and The Fog. In the past couple years, the actress took home an Emmy for her guest-star turn on Hulu’s The Bearand an Academy Award for her supporting work in Everything Everywhere All at Once.

Curtis will be back on red carpets promoting Freakier Friday. And on her arm through it all will surely be her longtime spouse Christopher Guest, a pop-culture icon in his own right, thanks to classic comedy mockumentaries like Waiting For Guffman,Best in Show and This Is Spinal Tap (with Tap's long-awaited sequel Spinal Tap II: The End Continues being released in late 2025). With the power couple both back in the spotlight, let’s take a stroll down memory lane and look back on Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest's decades-spanning romance.

Curtis and Guest share two daughters through adoption: Annie, born in 1986, and Ruby, born in 1996. (Fun fact: Jamie Lee is also the godmother of Jake Gyllenhaal!) The couple decided to pursue adoption after struggling with infertility issues. “Adoption was the only way for us to have a family,” she told Pact's Point of View. “It becomes the viable option for you. If you want to be a family, that's how you're going to be it.”

Younger daughter Ruby came out as transgender in 2020 and shared to Peoplethat she wasn’t worried about coming out to her parents: “They had been so accepting of me my entire life.” During an interview on Morning Joe, Curtis shared: “Being a parent is about love, and I love Ruby. Love her. And people have said, ‘You’re so great to accept her love.’ What are you talking about? This is my daughter—this human being has come to me and said, ‘This is who I am.’ And my job is to say, ‘Welcome home.’ I will fight and defend her right to exist to anyone who claims that she doesn’t. And there are those people.” In May 2022, Curtis officiated Ruby’s wedding to her partner Kynthia.

The actress has said that she and her husband have very different tastes, telling Good Housekeeping in 2018: “We don’t listen to the same radio station, we don’t read the same paper, we don’t go to bed at the same time.”

However, they do read the same history books. “For our 30th anniversary, we both read a book called Undaunted Courage, [which is] the story of [explorers] Lewis and Clark. Then we took eight friends and retraced a section of the Missouri River in canoes that followed the path of their expedition. We’re a little nerdy.” Maybe a historical flick is in their future? We’d watch it!

Does Jamie Lee Curtis have a royal title?

Yes, technically. In April 1996, her husband Christopher Guest inherited the title Baron Haden-Guest when his father died. As the wife of a hereditary peer, Curtis is considered a baroness, with her title styled as The Lady Haden-Guest. However, Curtis does not use the title, telling Architectural Digest: “It has nothing to do with me.”

What is Jamie Lee Curtis and Christopher Guest’s net worth?

Each half of the couple has a reported net worth of $60 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth. That hefty figure spans both performers’ film work, as well as Jamie Lee’s successful series of children’s books and brand endorsements. The pair own a Spanish Colonial revival home in Santa Monica, California, that’s reportedly worth an estimated $10-12 million.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Teases Return to 'Predator' Franchise 40 Years After Last Appearance

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:22am

Anyone who has been paying even the slightest attention to the Predator series in recent years can likely recognize the franchise has once again returned to the forefront of mainstream pop culture.

With recent hits taking the form of Prey and Predator: Badlands, many people are wondering what exactly the future has in store for the hit sci-fi horror action franchise.

As audiences continue to tune in to each new Predator installment, the series' original star Arnold Schwarzenegger has confirmed he's currently circling a potential return to the iconic '80s franchise.

During a recent appearance at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio, the 78-year-old action star discussed his proposed plans to return to Predator, Conan the Barbarian and his influential '80s action flick, Commando.

In his conversation, Schwarzenegger mentioned just how impressed he's been with the latest installments of the Predator series, revealing that he and director Dan Trachtenberg have discussed Schwarzenegger's future in the series.

“They did an additional Predator and the director [Trachtenberg] has been doing a great job of that. Now, he wants me to be in the next Predator. We’ve talked about it,” Schwarzenegger said.

“As a matter of fact, Fox Studios has kind of rediscovered Arnold," the 78-year-old Terminator actor continued. "They’ve come to me and said, ‘We want you to do Predator,' we just got a script for you to do Commando 2.'"

While Schwarzenegger has not personally reprised his role in Predator since the original 1987 film, the actor's likeness was used for a brief cameo in the recent animated anthology movie, Predator: Killer of Killers.

In the context of the film, Schwarzenegger’s character from Predator, Major Alan “Dutch” Schaefer, is seen in a suspended animation chamber, hinting at his potential return at some point in a future Predator sequel.

John F. Kennedy Jr. Starred in One Episode of This Hit '80s Sitcom in 1996

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:15am

John F. Kennedy Jr. was the "it" guy of the 90s who was seeking the next chapter of his life beyond his family's name. Anyone who has watched FX's Love Story would know about Kennedy's venture into print, but likely not about his real-life guest appearance on Murphy Brown to help promote it.

While Kennedy didn't make it as a hotshot lawyer, he did set his sights on developing and publishing his own magazine titled George. It aimed to blend politics with pop culture, celebrity news, and topics that would interest everyday readers. The magazine was his effort to make politics more accessible, and he founded it in 1995 alongside Michael J. Berman.

"I hope the show will introduce George to an audience of potential readers who clearly enjoy politically related entertainment," he told The Tampa Bay Times,

Beyond Kennedy's recognizable name, he wanted to promote the magazine even further and became an actor for one day. In the mid-90s, Murphy Brown was still at the top of the TV sitcom food chain, having originally aired in 1988 and starred Candice Bergen in the titular role.

Murphy Brown became the perfect way for Kennedy to get George in front of potential readers, seeing that the sitcom focused on Bergen's character as a famous investigative journalist and news anchor for FYI, a fictional CBS television newsmagazine.

Kennedy appeared in "Altered States" as Season 8's premiere episode on Sept. 18, 1995. Instead of playing a fake character, Kennedy appeared as himself visiting Bergen to deliver her a wedding gift, despite it having been called off. The gift is a copy of George with her on the cover, although she's generally unimpressed by the magazine.

When the cast of Murphy Brown reunited to talk with PeopleTV and Entertainment Weekly, Bergen called him a "god" and said that "every woman on the Warner lot was on our soundstage." Joe Regalbuto chimed in with the same sentiment, saying he was the most "good-looking" guy he had ever seen.

Murphy Brown was Kennedy's only TV credit, but he did have a role in the 1990 film A Matter of Degrees. He played a small role in the W.T. Morgan movie as "Guitar Playing Romeo."

Reba McEntire's Pinto Beans & Cornbread Is the Epitome of Southern Comfort

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:15am

Growing up in the South, my culinary journey was deeply influenced by the rich tapestry of flavors found in the region. With a childhood spent on farms gathering fresh eggs and participating in the tradition of hunting wild game, my palate developed a genuine appreciation for the authentic tastes of the South

My grandparents, avid hunters and enthusiastic fishermen, further cultivated my love for the region's culinary delights. In particular, my grandmother—who was a skilled cook—played a pivotal role in shaping my taste preferences. Her daily culinary ventures and occasional preparation of my grandfather's and my favorite dishes and desserts made our shared meals truly memorable.

Recently, I stumbled upon a recipe for Reba McEntire's Pinto Beans and Cornbread, and it instantly resonated with me. It wasn't just because the recipe was from a country music icon; rather, it transported me back to a time when my grandmother would make similar dishes.

To prepare the pinto beans, gather the following ingredients: Dry pinto beans, kosher salt, end piece of bacon slab roughly chopped—or alternatively, six slices of roughly chopped thick-cut bacon. You'll also need a whole yellow onion, a whole peeled carrot, bay leaves, chicken stock, sherry vinegar, freshly ground black pepper and hot sauce (optional).

For the accompanying cornbread, grab some fine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda, kosher salt, eggs, honey, melted unsalted butter and buttermilk. If you don't happen to have any buttermilk on hand, you can sub it out for 1 cup of whole milk whisked with 1 teaspoon of vinegar.

How to Make Reba McEntire’s Pinto Beans and Cornbread

Begin by rinsing the dry pinto beans thoroughly with cold water. Transfer them to a large bowl and cover them with a few inches of fresh water. Stir and let them soak at room temperature for about 12 hours. After soaking, drain and rinse the beans.

In a large pot, add the soaked beans with fresh water (enough to cover them by a few inches) and sprinkle in some salt. Bring the water to a simmer over medium-high heat. Once simmering, remove the pot from heat, drain the beans and rinse them gently. Wipe the pot and return it to the stove.

Cook the chopped bacon in the pot until it the fat renders, then add the onions and carrots. Sauté until the bacon is browned and the veggies are softened before adding the beans and bay leaves to the pot. Pour in the chicken stock until the beans are covered by at least 3 inches of liquid.

Bring the mixture to a simmer and cook until the beans are soft (about 1 hour and 30 minutes). As the beans cook, keep an eye on the pot. You want the beans to simmer but not boil. If the liquid begins to boil, turn the heat down to bring it back to a simmer.

Add the vinegar and season to taste with salt and pepper. Remove the pot from heat, discard the bay leaves and blend a cup of beans until smooth. Stir the pureed beans back into the pot. Serve immediately, adding hot sauce if you'd like.

While the beans are cooking, make the cornbread. Put a 10-inch cast-iron skillet in the oven while the oven heats up to 375°. In a bowl, whisk together the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk the eggs, honey and melted butter. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and start whisking. Add the buttermilk and continue to stir until the mixture forms a thick batter.

Remove the hot skillet from the oven, pour in the batter and place it back in the oven. Bake until a toothpick comes out clean from the center, which should take 25 to 30 minutes.

Let the cornbread cool before serving alongside the pinto beans.

The “Transit Trouser” Debate Dividing Travel Influencers

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:10am

There’s a big talk online, especially on TikTok, where travel influencers have varying opinions about the type of pants to wear on an airplane. This controversy is surrounded by one simple style of pants: long, wide-legged bottoms. Brands like Aritzia, Athleta and online-favorite Halara have popularized these airport-outfit favorites thanks to their ability to offer both style and comfort over the course of long-haul flights. Of course, as opinions go on social media, people are either strongly for the wide legged pants or strongly against them, and those on opposing teams are clashing with each other.

@thenatalieway1

Is it just me???

♬ original sound - thenatalieway1

In one video created by @thenatalieway1, an account geared towards chic travel for women, she shares that she not only would never ever wear a pair of long, loose pants on an airplane, but she doesn’t tolerate it from other travelers, as well.

This opinion of hers stems from one simple reason–the state of the bathroom floors on airplanes. She alludes to the fact that they are often very dirty, and she can’t imagine letting her pant bottoms touch the bathroom floor.

Wide-leg pants at the airport? Yes-even with the bathroom situation. If you choose lightweight, quick-dry transit trousers, you can wear them on the plane and again on your trip- after some quick travel laundry. Next: my spring/summer transit trouser picks ✈️ Part 4 of Build a better a Airport Outfit.

♬ original sound - travelista

Now, on the other side of the spectrum, we have @the_travelista sharing her opinion. Josie, the owner of the account, gears her content towards packing light and curating travel outfits. Josie begins the video by saying that she has heard many women complain about wearing wide legged pants to the airport, simply because of the dirty bathroom issue.

However, she doesn’t think that this needs to be something that will stop you from wearing wide legged pants. Ultimately, this style of pants is extremely comfortable to travel in, and you shouldn’t negate them just because you’re afraid of the bottom of the pants getting dirty.

Instead, Josie shares a few tips to help keep your pants clean when using the bathroom on your travel day. You can tuck the bottom of the pants into your socks or boots if that’s the shoe you chose to wear.

Other options could be to simply lift the bottom of the pants up and scrunch them up towards your thighs, keeping them away from the floor. Josie also explains that your “transit trouser” as she calls it should be something light and fast drying, that way you can wash it and hang it to dry when you get to your final destination.

As A Travel-Pro Myself, This Controversy Is Silly

I’ve traveled to over 40 countries myself, lived on the road on a Broadway tour for a year, and am constantly running from airports to train stations and everything in between. I, personally, would rather be comfortable in what I’m wearing than stressing over the bottom of my pants getting dirty. Let’s be honest–the bottom of your pants are extremely far from your face. Who cares if they get dirty? Also, many personal items get dirty in an airport, all you need to do is clean them after.

Also, why is this only controversial for airports and airplanes, specifically? Most public restrooms have dirty floors. If this is really a problem for people, they should just stop wearing wide legged pants all together, unless they simply aren’t going to use the bathroom while wearing them. Ultimately, I think this is incredibly silly, and people shouldn’t be stressing about their pants getting dirty at the airport. It’s the airport, your clothes will get dirty. You will survive, I promise! Below I'm wearing favorite wide legged airport pants. They’re light, easy to wash, and I wear the multiple times during a trip. Sue me!!

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 9:01am

Netflix's new reality show questions if age matters. Age of Attraction starts with singles with a wide age range dating each other. They're not allowed to reveal their ages to each other until they commit to only date each other in the promise room.

The couple then lives together until commitment day, when they decide whether or not to continue their relationship after the show, like Love Is Blind. The trailer revealed one cast member was surprised to find out people in their 60's were in the cast. Who are the most mature cast members? Here is everything you need to know!

Spoilers for episodes 1 - 4!

Who Is the Oldest Man and Woman on Age of Attraction?

Theresa DeMaria is 54 years old and was nervous to reveal it at the commitment ceremony. "You're gonna die," she told John Merrill at the commitment ceremony. "When I've been on dating apps and like that, which suck, most of the guys I don't think put their age range up to my age," she said in her introduction.

The stylist was married twice and has three kids: a 29-year-old, a 25-year-old, and a 22-year-old. John said that in the past, everyone assumed he was older than his age. Theresa hoped he'd be in his 30s. He was 27, which puts him between the ages of her kids. "I literally thought you were 10 years older," she told him.

Jorge Sanchez is 60 and didn't reveal he had kids until after the promise room. Vanelle Fenmou spent more time with the attorney in episode 2. He told her that she was his only connection. It was obvious he was older with his grey hair, but he had a youthful personality. Vanelle is 27 and believed he was in his 40s and said her father didn't want her dating someone 10 years older than she was.

Jorge and Theresa were the eldest of the main participants this season. We'll see if they can make things with Theresa dating a man half her age, and Jorge being over 30s older than his partner.

New episodes of Age of Attraction are released on Wednesdays on Netflix.

Barbara Streisand Is Set to Receive a Major Honor and Congrats Are Overflowing

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 8:48am

Barbra Streisand is set to receive one of the most coveted honors out there.

The legendary actress and singer, 83, is set to receive an honorary Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival in May, Variety announced early Wednesday morning.

In a statement, Streisand shared her pride over receiving the honor, which will take place at the festival's awards ceremony on May 23.

“It is with a sense of pride and deep humility that I’m honored to join the company of past Honorary Palme d’Or recipients whose work has long inspired me,” the legendary EGOT said. “In these challenging times, movies have the ability to open our hearts and minds to stories that reflect our shared humanity, and to perspectives that remind us of both our fragility and our resilience. Cinema transcends borders and politics, and affirms the power of imagination to shape a more compassionate world.”

A release from Cannes also mentioned in the Variety piece stated that “Barbra Streisand has reached the pinnacle of the entertainment industry like no one before her. But this staggering record pales in comparison to her influence on pop culture in the second half of the 20th century.”

Will Streisand Honor Robert Redford at the Oscars?

While Streisand has starred in beloved films ranging from Funny Girl and A Star is Born to What's Up Doc? and Yentl, one of her most iconic performances is that of Katie opposite Robert Redford as Hubbell in 1973's heartbreaker The Way We Were. When Redford died back in September, many wondered if Streisand would honor the film titan in a performance at the following year's Oscars. Both Variety and Page Six have since reported that Streisand was in talks to honor Redford, with many assuming she would sing "The Way We Were" in his memory.

What Did Streisand Say When Robert Redford Died?

Following Redford's death in September, Streisand took to Instagram to honor her late co-star with a touching post featuring a photo of the duo.

“Every day on the set of ‘The Way We Were’ was exciting, intense and pure joy,” she wrote. “We were such opposites: he was from the world of horses; I was allergic to them! Yes, we kept trying to find out more about each other, just like the characters in the movie. Bob was charismatic, intelligent, intense, always interesting — and one of the finest actors ever."

‘Sister Wives’ Star Opens Up About How Kody Brown’s Words Are 'Hurtful' to Their Kids

Wed, 03/11/2026 - 8:34am

A Sister Wives star has opened up about Kody Brown's past polygamy comments, which she believes are "hurtful" to their children.

Meri Brown discussed this topic in a YouTube interview with the channel Notes to Self 444. The channel is helmed by a husband and wife, Melanie and Cory, ex-polygamists who hail from families that belong to the same religious group as the Browns.

Brown says that when Kody speaks negatively about his polygamist past, it hurts the children he shares with her, Janelle Brown, and Christine Brown Woolley. She emphasized that it’s difficult for their kids to hear their father speak negatively about a life that shaped their family.

A YouTube viewer asked, "Does it hurt when you hear Kody say he wishes that he hadn’t done polygamy, and if he could do it over again, he wouldn’t? I feel like that would be hurtful to all his children?"

The Sister Wives star responded, "I think it's got to be hurtful to his kids. I can't imagine, as a kid, hearing your dad say 'I regret doing that. I wish I wouldn't have done that.'"

Brown addressed his feelings about polygamist on the TLC series, "Becoming a monogamist is sort of an easier life [than polygamy]. I'm going through this process, back and forth, with the pain of this experience."

He continued, "'Did I do the right thing? or 'Did we do the right thing?' Is polygamy better? Is monogamy better?"

"Was polygamy better, and we just screwed it up?" he asked. "Or is monogamy just part of my destiny?" Kody has lived monogamously with Robyn Brown for many years, but officially since Brown left their marriage in January 2023.

How did Jamie Lee Curtis become famous?

As with most "nepo babies," Jamie Lee Curtis did start with a significant leg up in Hollywood. The daughter of Psycho and Manchurian Candidate actress Janet Leigh and Some Like It Hot and Sweet Smell of Success actor Tony Curtis, she was already familiar with the limelight. However, after her parents' divorce when she was four years old, Curtis has stated that her father was never around.

Curtis decided to follow in her famous parents’ footsteps when she was a teenager, landing her first roles in TV bit parts starting in 1977. This included guest spots on Columbo, Quincy, M.E., and The Hardy Boys/Nancy Drew Mysteries, culminating that year in a lead role on Operation Petticoat.

But it was an indie horror movie that would make Curtis a breakout star. Though she earned her iconic role of Laurie Strode in 1978’s Halloween due to her mother’s horror movie credentials, Curtis’ performance in her first film role showed she was someone to watch. Halloween became the most successful indie movie of its time and launched Curtis’ career as a scream queen. She followed this performance with roles in three more horror movies in 1980—The Fog (another John Carpenter movie), Prom Night and Terror Train.

Curtis was in danger of being typecast. It was her appearance in the 1983 comedy smash hit Trading Places alongside Dan Aykroydand Eddie Murphythat helped the actress prove her crossover appeal. This was further cemented by her role in the 1988 comedy classic A Fish Called Wanda, ensuring that by the ‘90s, Curtis was a full-blown star.

How much did Tony Curtis leave in his will?

Months before Tony Curtis passed away in September 2010, he changed his will. Surprisingly, Tony Curtis disinherited his five children, including Jamie Lee Curtis. In fact, he had this explicitly stated in the document, but did not give a reason.

Curtis kept it classy when reacting to the decision, stating, “I remember what the will said—it’s amazing what you remember—it said, ‘I acknowledge the existence of my daughter Jamie Curtis and intentionally and with full knowledge leave her nothing.’ Now, that sounds brutal. That’s what it had to say because it’s legalese. But if you are a child, that is a hurtful thing.”

How much did Jamie Lee Curtis make for Halloween (1978)?

Despite being hired as the lead in 1978’s Halloween, Jamie Lee Curtis was not actually paid that much. She was reportedly paid $8,000 for the starring role. Considering this was her first movie role and it was an indie movie, that is not entirely surprising.

How much did Jamie Lee Curtis make for Halloween 2 (1981)?

After the box office success of the first Halloween movie in 1978, Jamie Lee Curtis was able to ask for a significant increase to her salary for the sequel, 1981’s Halloween 2. This resulted in Curtis being paid $100,000 to take on the role of Laurie Strode once again.

Why did Jamie Lee Curtis not return for Halloween 4?

After the epic misfire of 1982's Michael Myers-less Halloween III: Season of the Witch, producers decided to return to the slasher-movie well for Halloween 4. By the time Halloween 4 was going into production, Jamie Lee Curtis had managed to enjoy crossover success with 1983's Trading Places and was finally shedding the scream queen status that had left her pigeonholed in the horror genre. That is likely the major reason Curtis did not want to return to the franchise that had made her a star, at least at that time.

Her character was subsequently written out as having died in a car accident, and her character’s daughter became the main focus of the fourth and fifth films in the franchise, Halloween 4: The Return of Michael Myers and Halloween 5: The Revenge of Michael Myers. Subsequent films like Halloween: H20 (1998), Halloween (2018) and Halloween Ends (2022) ignore these movies (and the disastrous sixth film, Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers) in order to continue the story of Laurie Strode with Jamie Lee Curtis in the lead.

How much did Jamie Lee Curtis get paid for H20?

Jamie Lee Curtis was actually a driving force behind 1998's Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, which saw the actress and her character, Laurie Strode, returning to the franchise for the first time since 1981’s Halloween 2—exactly 20 years after the first movie debuted. In October 2022, at New York Comic Con, Curtis spoke about her involvement with the film, stating, “H20 was conceived really by me. I'm not titled as a producer on it. But it was my brainchild.”

As a result, Curtis was able to request a major salary increase, reportedly being paid $5 million for the movie. Not a bad deal!

Why did Jamie Lee Curtis do Halloween: Resurrection?

At New York Comic Con in October 2022, Jamie Lee Curtis opened up about what led to her appearance—and her character’s subsequent death—in 2002’s poorly received Halloween: Resurrection.

Curtis had pushed to get Halloween H20: 20 Years Later made in 1998, with the hope that the film would be the last in the franchise, ending it with the definitive death of Michael Myers. Once the film was already in production, things did not go according to plan, with higher-ups refusing to kill off Michael Myers at the movie’s climax.

Curtis explained, “Now, this is a train that’s going, I mean we‘re ready to go. I said, 'I'm not going to do it, I’m not going to tease the audience again.' I came up with an idea to end it. I said I won’t do it.” As Curtis was overruled, it was decided that H20 would end with the supposed death of Michael Myers at the hands of Laurie Strode, only for a later sequel to reveal that Myers had switched places with a paramedic—who Strode had killed in his place.

Curtis revealed how she ended up in the 2002 sequel Halloween: Resurrection. “I said, ‘OK, if you’re going to do that and it looks like Laurie has ended it and my audience feels like it’s ended, OK, I’ll do it. But you have to pay me a lot of money in the next movie and you have to kill me in the first 10 minutes of the movie because I’ve now killed an innocent man and I can’t live with that.'”

Curtis was paid a lot of money to appear in Resurrection in what she thought at the time would be her last appearance as Laurie Strode. She reportedly made $3 million for her minimal screen time. As a result, the opening scene of Halloween: Resurrection saw her character meet her untimely demise at the hands of Michael Myers after years of avoiding that fate. It was an ending that both fans and Curtis herself found unsatisfying, to say the least.

How much did Jamie Lee Curtis get paid for Halloween (2018)?

Considering her character’s anticlimactic and unpopular ending in Halloween: Resurrection, it’s not surprising that Jamie Lee Curtis decided to return to the franchise—and the role of Laurie Strode—for the reboot Halloween (2018) to change her character’s fate. As the film was made for a comparatively modest budget of $10 million, Curtis has revealed that upfront she was paid “scale” for the film, which can amount to a few thousand a week. However, she did have a contract that entitled her to a percentage of the movie’s profits. As the movie was a success, raking in over $255 million worldwide, Curtis potentially made anywhere from $5 million to $10 million for the film.

How much did Jamie Lee Curtis make in Halloween Kills?

It is not known exactly how much Jamie Lee Curtis was paid to appear once again as Laurie Strode in the follow-up to Halloween (2018), 2021’s Halloween Kills. However, the success of the first movie did lead to a budget increase of $10 million for the sequel, bringing the film’s budget up to $20 million—double that of the first film. As a result, we can imagine Curtis’ deal was similar to the one she secured for Halloween (2018) but most likely more lucrative, probably involving a percentage of the film’s profits, potentially a larger share. This means Curtis could have received anywhere from $5 million to $10 million for Halloween Kills.

Jamie Lee Curtis in 'Halloween Ends'

Universal Pictures

How much did Jamie Lee Curtis make for Halloween Ends?

Jamie Lee Curtis has not revealed how much she was offered for her final outing as Laurie Strode (we've heard that before!) in 2022’s Halloween Ends. It is likely that her deal resembled the one she had in place for the previous two movies in the rebooted franchise, which we know for Halloween (2018) included a smaller upfront payment and a percentage of the movie’s profits. It is also likely Curtis was able to negotiate a better deal for herself for the franchise’s conclusion after the success of the prior two films. We do not know how well it will fare at the box office, especially considering it's being released on Peacock the same day. That said, we can imagine Curtis will wind up taking home anywhere from $5 million to $10 million when all is said and done.

How much money has Jamie Lee Curtis made from Halloween?

Overall, Jamie Lee Curtis has made a considerable amount from her appearances in the Halloween franchise. In fact, one could make the argument she owes her entire fortune to the franchise, since most people agree that the original movie launched her long career in Hollywood. Only Curtis herself knows exactly how much the Halloween movies have netted her.

We do know Curtis was paid $8,000 for 1978’s Halloween, $100,000 for 1980’s Halloween 2, $5 million for 1998’s Halloween H20: 20 Years Later, $3 million for 2022’s Halloween: Resurrection and scale plus a percentage of the movie’s profits for Halloween (2018) with similar deals most likely in place for 2021’s Halloween Kills and 2022’s Halloween Ends. If we estimate Curtis made $5 million each for Halloween (2018), Halloween Kills and Halloween Ends, that would mean Curtis has made at least $23,108,000 from all of her appearances in the Halloween franchise combined. Keep in mind, this does not include things like merchandising rights or any other bonuses. This means that Curtis has Michael Myers to thank for millions of dollars, but something tells us she won’t be conveying her gratitude to the slasher villain anytime soon!
