Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein have sent fans into a frenzy, hoping they might secretly be dating. The “On The Floor” hitmaker and her Office Romance co-star were spotted out and about together in L.A. last week at a party and reportedly arrived in the same car. Though the duo is said to have entered the party separately.

JLo got dolled up in a super sexy black leather midi dress for the occasion, which featured a plunging neckline that perfectly flaunted her assets. She paired the gorgeous gown with red-bottomed heels in a stiletto style with a chic pointed toe.

The star finished the outfit off by leaving her hair flowing loosely down her shoulders and by applying nighttime glam makeup, including a dark smoky eye.

Meanwhile, Brett kept things simple and opted for a black-on-black outfit consisting of a long-sleeved sweater and dark dress trousers. The handsome actor smiled in the streets as paparazzi snapped photos of him – though he wasn’t captured alongside Jennifer, who was instead walking alongside her long-time manager Benny Medina.

This isn’t the first time that dating rumors have begun to swirl around JLo and Brett. Earlier this summer, a source told Page Six magazine that the duo “definitely had a strong connection” and “undeniable chemistry”; however, they “kept things professional on set” while filming for ‘Office Romance’.

Jennifer and her ex-husband Ben Affleck officially separated in April 2024, with the divorce being finalized in February 2025. The pair were initially together in the 2000s but called off their wedding in 2003, before going on to split up in January 2004. Since then, JLo has not been officially linked to a new beau, though fans have been shipping her with the likes of Brett and her silver-fox bodyguard. His name isn’t known to the public.

Larisa Oleynik, who is best known for her role in 10 Things I Hate About You, made a rare public appearance this past weekend with a chic haircut.

Oleynik, 45, was a successful child actor who rose to notoriety in the role of Alex Mack on the hit Nickelodeon series, The Secret World of Alex Mack. Oleynik played a teen who gets covered in toxic goo on the first day of junior high, only to discover that she has strange telekinetic powers. The show ran from 1994 to 1998 and was a favorite of audiences. Oleynik went on to more adult roles, starring in the teen classic 10 Things I Hate About You opposite Julia Stiles, Joseph Gordon Levitt, and Heath Ledger. A spin on The Taming of the Shrew, the hilarious film featured Oleynik as the ultimate popular girl. But 27 years after that classic movie, the star hit ’90s Con in Hartford for a rare public appearance. Sporting a chic pixie cut, Oleynik clearly hasn’t changed all that much since her time as a teen superstar.

To go to college! In an interview at ’90s Con, Oleynik told PEOPLE that she decided to take a break from acting to attend Sarah Lawrence College. She has no regrets about making the choice.

“I didn’t actually study theater there. I was just so thrilled to just like read for four years; I was just so happy. It was such a good decision for me. That related to who I am as a lover of stories and storyteller, but I kind of needed a little bit of a break from performing and just to like connect with language again. And honestly, thank goodness I was there before any kind of social media,” she shared, noting that getting to “have a break from being public” was a “wonderful” experience.

Like every one of her many fans across the globe, Miley Cyrus might still be processing the death of country music legend Dolly Parton. But according to the 33-year-old singer, she actually had a fascinating encounter with Parton’s spirit following the singer’s death on August 25.

As reported by Entertainment Weekly, Cyrus spoke about an unexplained experience with what she presumed to be Parton’s ghost following a recent concert.

“I actually have a Dolly mannequin in my bedroom. She gave it to me for Christmas. It’s dressed like her, it’s built like her,” Cyrus started by ssaying. “When I was by myself, I actually took my phone and I played ‘Jolene’ for her on video, holding it up to the mannequin, and lit a candle. I put a flower down for her.”

In her story, Cyrus said she tried to reach out to her godmother Parton, urging her to communicate. “I said, ‘Dolly, if you’re here right now, flicker the lights,’” Cyrus said.

While Cyrus admitted she didn’t say this last part out loud, the “entire hallway started flickering” moments after. To corroborate her story, she pointed to one of her fellow musicians on stage, saying he could “vouch” to the experience.

“He was there, but he didn’t know what I said,” Cyrus said. “So, I know she’s here with me tonight.”

Because of the powerful experience and her lifelong attachment to Parton, Cyrus added that she was dedicating her performance to the late Parton and her millions of fans across the world.

“No matter what it takes, this show is for you and for Dolly,” Cyrus pledged.

One of the Cyrus family’s closest friends and regular musical collaborators, Parton remained close with Miley throughout their lives, with Miley affectionately referring to her as “Aunt Dolly.”

“The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share,” Cyrus wrote on Instagram after Parton’s death earlier this year. “Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour & between our hearts.”

Betty McGuire, the actress best known for playing grandmother Kate Malone on the ABC sitcom “Growing Pains,” died Oct. 8 at the Motion Picture & Television Fund’s Wasserman Campus in Woodland Hills, California. She was 100. The cause was natural causes, and her power of attorney, Keith Gerchak, confirmed her death.

McGuire spent seven years on “Growing Pains” as Kate, mother to Joanna Kerns’ Maggie Seaver. She was a recurring character in Seasons 1 and 2, and again in Seasons 4 through 7. The series aired on ABC from 1985 to 1992 and followed the Seaver family, with Maggie working as a reporter while her husband, Jason, a psychiatrist, worked from home.

Her television career stretched well beyond the Seavers. She appeared on “Columbo” and on “Moonlighting,” the ABC detective series starring Bruce Willis and Cybill Shepherd. Her other credits included “Falcon Crest,” “The Doris Day Show,” “Star Trek: Deep Space Nine,” “Hill Street Blues,” “ER,” “CSI: Miami,” “MacGyver” and “Charlie’s Angels.” On the big screen, she appeared in “Cheech & Chong’s Up in Smoke” and Michael Crichton’s “Coma.”

McGuire also had a long stage career. She performed on Broadway in the 1950s in the original productions of “Plain and Fancy,” “Happy Hunting” and “Oh, Captain!” alongside names including Ethel Merman, Barbara Cook, Bea Arthurand Tony Randall. She later headlined as “Mame” at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas and toured in productions of “Gypsy,” “Auntie Mame,” “Mame,” “Oliver!,” “How to Succeed in Business…” and “The Ziegfeld Follies of 1956.”

Later in life, McGuire volunteered as a receptionist and advocate at the Coalition for Economic Survival legal clinic in Los Angeles, where she helped support low-income tenants facing eviction. She was also an active resident of the Motion Picture & Television Fund Home, where she hosted her own talk show, “GabFest,” on Channel 22, the on-campus TV station at the retirement community.

It also gets brownie points because it’s doable no matter your mobility level or physical distance.

Why 3 Child Psychologists Unanimously Recommend Exploring the Outdoors

Child psychologists agree: Exploring the outdoors is one of the best fall activities for grandparents and their grandchildren.

“What I love about being outside is that it gives kids a kind of freedom they don’t always get in more structured, indoor activities,” says Dr. Caroline Danda, PhD, a licensed psychologist with over two decades of clinical experience with children, teens and families. “There’s time to talk, explore and play.”

This season brings lots of outdoor-specific fun, too.

“Fall gives grandparents and grandchildren plenty to discover together: changing leaves, different textures, pumpkins of every shape and seasonal wildlife,” says Dr. Jephtha Tausig, PhD, who’s been a licensed clinical psychologist for over 20 years for children, teens, young adults, couples and older adults. “These discoveries invite curiosity and shared attention without requiring an elaborate plan.”

During those activities, a relationship can grow in various ways. It doesn’t matter if you’re on a nature walk, completing a scavenger hunt or doing something else entirely. 

According to Dr. Max Doshay, PsyD—a licensed clinical psychologist and the co-founder and CEO of KMN Psych—outdoor activities “provide natural opportunities for children to be curious about things they see, for them to engage in playful activity with their grandparents, for grandparents and children to have conversations with one another and to form memories for themselves of their grandparents.”

The Psychological Benefits of Spending Time Outdoors

Besides the fresh air and fun, spending time outdoors boosts mental health. “Being outside can lower stress, lift our mood and even lead to physical changes, including a lower heart rate and lower cortisol,” Dr. Danda says.

She adds that nature distracts from the daily grind and allows us to get moving.

Believe it or not, the benefits extend to the relationship, too—if the adult goes about it the right way.

“When a grandparent is fully focused on a child and excited about what they’re doing, a child feels seen and valued,” she shares. 

If you do an outdoor scavenger hunt, you’re inviting even more psychological and developmental pros for the child.

“A scavenger hunt also offers opportunities to practice observation and problem-solving,” Dr. Tausig says. “Allowing children to help decide what to explore gives them a sense of agency.”

How To Turn a Simple Outdoor Activity Into a Time of Meaningful Connection

The most important thing, according to Dr. Danda, is to be fully present. Put your phone away and follow the grandchild’s lead. 

“If they want to stop and examine every leaf, let them,” she says. “There’s nothing better to a child than having an adult genuinely interested in their world.”

She also encourages reflecting so grandkids know you’re interested. You might say something like, “That is a beautiful red leaf!”

If you go on a walk, she recommends walking side by side so kids don’t feel like they’re being interviewed. A hot chocolate or another special treat along the way doesn’t hurt, either. If you want to add a scavenger hunt, you two can look for something that starts with each letter of the alphabet or each color of the rainbow, for example.

While education (with the alphabet and colors hunt) can be great, and questions encourage conversation, they’re not necessary.

“Avoid turning every discovery into a lesson or quiz,” Dr. Tausig says. “Wondering together is enough.”

Dr. Doshay agrees that curiosity builds connections and shows genuine interest.

“When we allow our children to see that we are as curious as they are about what catches their eye, this builds connection,” he says.

Last but not least, Dr. Tausig encourages a small annual tradition, such as choosing a pumpkin together or photographing the same tree every autumn. This “can give both generations something to anticipate and remember,” she explains.

Generally speaking, try not to worry or judge yourself too much. You’re probably more impactful than you think.

“Sometimes, the best conversations happen when you’re not trying too hard to have one,” Dr. Danda adds.

Why Quiet Outdoor Time Beats Other Fall Activities, Like Movies and Festivals

With no shortage of fun things to do with grandkids during autumn, why is spending peaceful time outdoors the best?

“Although carving pumpkins, trunk-or-treats, sports games, arts and crafts and baking can all create great memories, they can involve more rules, directions and corrections,” Dr. Danda explains. “Movies and screen time lead to attention on the screen rather than each other. Big fall festivals and haunted attractions can be fun, but they can also be crowded, loud and overstimulating.”

But of course, consider what’s best for your individual grandchild.

“The advantage depends on the setting and the child,” Dr. Tausig says. “A busy pumpkin patch can be just as overstimulating as a festival.”

Generally, focus on keeping the activity interactive.

“Interacting will give us many opportunities for sharing conversations, working as a team, laughing at things we find funny and creating those little moments that are memories we share,” Dr. Doshay notes.

Adaptations for Mobility Limits and Long-Distance Grandparents

Grandparents who live far away or who aren’t as mobile can still enjoy this activity, believe it or not. Child psychologists share suggestions.

For mobility limits

• Choose a park with paved paths and benches. 
• Take a shorter walk or go to a closer location.
• Sit together and play “I Spy” or look for birds. 
• Have the grandchild be the “designated explorer” who hunts for treasures and then comes back for show-and-tell. 
• Do an activity sitting down outside, like carving a pumpkin at a picnic table.

For long-distance grandparents

• Do the same scavenger hunt while on FaceTime, or share photos and videos after.
• Take a walk together over FaceTime. 
• Compare what fall looks and feels like where each of you lives.
• Invite the grandchild to give a video tour of their leaf collection or chosen pumpkin.

3 Conversation Starters Psychologists Recommend Using While Outside

Struggle to make conversation with kids, or want to make your time together extra meaningful? No worries—psychologists have you covered with several conversation starters. 

1. “When I was your age, I remember ______.” Share what you like about fall or another fun fall memory from your childhood. 
2. “What’s the coolest thing you found today?” It gets kids talking and shows you’re interested in their world.
3. “If we made this our special fall tradition, what would you want us to do every year?” Welcome the child’s input and ideas, and show them that you’re interested in continuing this activity with them.

Dr. Danda also encourages starting the outing with a phrase like, “I’m so excited we get to spend time together.” She explains it sends a powerful message: “There’s no place you’d rather be.”

It’s no secret that Trader Joe’s is a beloved grocery store around the U.S., and thankfully for its shoppers, the retailer is expanding again.

The store is expected to open at least 25 new locations within a year. Recent additions include Herriman, Utah, and Lafayette, Louisiana. Meanwhile, a store in Reading, Massachusetts, just opened last week on October 14.

The grocer’s online store pages also list more than two dozen locations as “coming soon.” That label doesn’t promise a specific opening date, but it gives shoppers a useful preview of where the chain is headed.

Some locations may be closer to opening than others. Trader Joe’s previously told Nexstar that it typically lists a store as “coming soon” three to six months before they plan to open. Local officials in places including Oswego, Joliet, Riverbank, Spokane Valley, and University Heights have suggested their stores could open before the end of the year.

The company has also posted job listings for several upcoming locations, though those postings don’t confirm an opening date.

Three more stores are planned for 2027

Trader Joe’s has also listed new locations for Bend, Oregon; Boynton Beach, Florida; and Phoenix, Arizona. Boynton Beach would get its first Trader Joe’s, while Bend and Phoenix already have stores.

The new addresses appear on the chain’s official location pages.

Miley Cyrus might be in the midst of a major career comeback, but the 33-year-old recently admitted she had some doubts about returning to the famous Hollywood Bowl for a second concert following online backlash from “clickbait” haters.

In videos recorded by audience members in attendance, Miley opened up about the reactions some critics shared online to the star’s first concert at the Hollywood Bowl, with some fans believing the singer’s heart wasn’t entirely in her performance.

“I’ve never heard that I don’t put my heart into something,” Cyrus said during the second show. “I don’t know if any of you heard that somebody was doing commentary to get clickbait on their video talking about my show on Friday night, but I’m a lot of things and we’re not even going to entertain that.”

During this past weekend’s show, Cyrus admitted that performing “does not not come as natural as it once did,” but that she was pleased with her connection to fans during her performance at the world-famous Los Angeles concert venue, saying it wasn’t at all “an experiment” as some critics might believe.

“That is absolutely not what this is,” she explained. “This is not an experiment of you. This is an experience for me. And you all make the experience possible.”

So severe was the online criticism that Cyrus said she briefly considered canceling her Sunday performance altogether. However, she ultimately decided to continue her performance at the Hollywood Bowl so that more passionate fans might be able to enjoy her performance.

“Before I came out for ‘Orbit,’ I already told myself I wasn’t going to come on stage, I was going to run away,” Cyrus said. “But never would I leave you all sitting in these seats, unfulfilled from a show. So I can take a lot, but one thing I will not stand is any question about where my heart is when I’m on the stage. I am fully present.”

Rapper Lil Jon recently discovered that the man he grew up believing was his biological father was not related to him by blood. 

The “Get Low” hitmaker opened up about the unexpected discovery in a new interview with PEOPLE, revealing how DNA test results shared by a cousin led him to question his family history.

Lil Jon explained that the revelation came after a cousin took a DNA test to learn more about their family history. When the cousin shared the results, Lil Jon noticed that their genetic match did not make sense.

“You never think that will happen to you,” he told the publication, describing the emotional impact of the discovery.

Lil Jon grew up with his mother, Carrie, and the man he believed was his biological father, Willie. He was raised alongside his siblings and has previously spoken about his childhood and his early interest in music.

Willie died of bone marrow cancer during Lil Jon’s rise to fame in the early 2000s. His mother died in 2013 following a stroke caused by complications from diabetes.

The timing of the revelation has left the musician with questions he may never be able to answer. “Neither one of my fathers are here anymore, nor my mother, so I can’t get answers,” he told PEOPLE.

Lil Jon added that accepting the lack of answers has been difficult, but he is gradually coming to terms with the situation.

The rapper has also heard from family members on his biological father’s side. However, he admitted that he has not yet felt ready to have those conversations.

“I have had my brother and sister reach out on my biological dad’s side, but I haven’t been ready to process that yet and have that conversation, because it’s just so heavy, man,” he said.

The revelation is among the personal experiences Lil Jon discusses in I Only Shout So You Can Hear Me, which is scheduled for release on October 20.

The memoir arrives during a difficult period for the musician, who is also grieving the death of his son, Nathan Smith, known professionally as DJ Young Slade. Nathan died at 27 in February 2026. His death was ruled an accidental drowning in the setting of psilocybin use, according to PEOPLE.

Lil Jon has spoken about finding ways to move forward while processing his loss. He also draws strength from his young daughter, Nahara, whom he shares with his partner, Jamila Sozahdah.

Reflecting on what fatherhood has taught him, the rapper emphasized the importance of making time for loved ones rather than assuming there will always be another opportunity.

“Fatherhood has taught me that family is everything,” he told PEOPLE.

As Lil Jon prepares to share more of his life story with readers, his recent discovery adds another deeply personal chapter to a memoir shaped by family, loss and the search for answers.

When the Eiffel Tower opened in 1889, Gustave Eiffel did more than build a tower. He also kept a private apartment for himself at the very top, above the platform open to the public. Paris’s high society wanted in. Eiffel was reportedly flooded with offers of huge sums to rent the place for even a single night, and he turned every one of them down.

The space was small, about 100 square meters, and part of it was taken up by the elevator, a stairwell landing and technical equipment. Even so, it was comfortable. A book published in 1891 described it as “furnished in the simple style dear to scientists.” The rooms had warm wallpaper, soft furniture, wooden cabinets and a piano, plus a kitchen and a bathroom. There was no bedroom, and Eiffel presumably never slept there.

Instead, Eiffel used the apartment to work and to entertain. He carried out scientific experiments there and hosted scientists, including the astronomer Jules Janssen. His most famous guest was American inventor Thomas Edison, who visited in September 1889 and gave Eiffel a phonograph that could record sound on wax. Eiffel also kept a Golden Book in the lounge, which carries the signatures of French President Sadi Carnot, the future King Carlos of Portugal and actress Sarah Bernhardt. Even some of the artists who had signed a petition against the tower when construction began came by to congratulate him, including composer Charles Gounod and painter Ernest Meissonier.

Today, 137 years later, the public can see the room, but not step into it. Anyone with a ticket to the top can look through the windows at a reconstruction of Eiffel’s office, with wax figures of Eiffel and his daughter, Claire, welcoming Edison. Because the room is so small, it’s closed to visitors, and the reconstruction covers only a small part of the original apartment.

On March 19, 1982, one of the biggest tragedies in rock history took place when a small plane carrying members of Ozzy Osbourne’s touring entourage crashed in Leesburg, Florida. The crash, which came during an impromptu joyride on a single-engine plane, killed guitar player Randy Rhoads, seamstress Rachel Youngblood and pilot Andrew Aycock.

Hours earlier, Rhoads, 25, had played what would be his final show in Knoxville, Tennessee, and he had an important talk with Osbourne while on the bus to their next show stop in Florida.

“I remember in the last journey I ever had with Randy Rhoads, that fatal journey from Knoxville, Tennessee to Orlando, Florida,” Osbourne said in an interview posted by Sunset Vinyl. “And we had to stop off at the bus depot for some parts, or a f—ing jack or something. And he was learning classical music. And every town that we would go to, he’d go and get a classical lesson. He’s a f—ing guy in a rock band. I said, ‘What are you mad?… What’s the matter with you?'”

“And then he said to me, on this bus journey from Knoxville, ‘I think I want to give up rock ‘n’ roll. I want to go to university, UCLA, and get a degree in classical,’” Osbourne recalled. “And my head goes, ‘What? Are you crazy? We’re just about to explode, man. Wait until we get the f—ing dough. … He says, ‘Oh no, not immediately.’ I mean, he wasn’t into it like the thing is now – he was into his instrument. Where 90% of the players today, they use their instrument as a means to becoming a millionaire. Well, he wasn’t interested.”

Osbourne told Rolling Stone the conversation was the last he had with Rhoads.

“And 12 hours later he was dead,” Osbourne shared. “I knew him for a very short amount of time. But what he gave me in that short amount of time was immeasurable in f—ing greatness.“

Shortly before his death, Rhoads had expressed worry over finding time to expand his knowledge of classical guitar due to his commitment to Osbourne’s band.

“When I was taking classical lessons, it gave me a lot of ideas to turn into leads,” he told Guitar World in an interview published in 1982. “Everything is totally different for me now. I was used to taking lessons and teaching all day long. I had constant musical input. New ideas were going in and out of my brain all the time. Being on the road so much, a lot of that input has stopped and I worry about it.”

“Right now, I’m bored with my playing,” he added. “I’ll pick up the guitar, and it seems like it’s all the same thing. …It’s just that right now it’s hard to put myself in that frame of mind, while I’m on the road. A classical tutor would be my commitment to keep at it.”

Osbourne recalled that while on tour, Rhoads would routinely “get the Yellow Pages out, and he would phone up a classical guitar player for a lesson in his room.”

“He’s probably the truest musician I’ve ever played with,” Osbourne told Rolling Stone. “To get somebody like Randy Rhoads to play on two albums, and for those two albums to sound as good as the day they were recorded, is something else. And I’m forever in gratitude for that. God only knows where that man would be today.”

Rhoads’ guitar mastery was featured on Osbourne’s albums Blizzard of Ozz and Diary of a Madman on songs such as “Crazy Train” and “Over the Mountain.” He was able to showcase his love for classical music with an instrumental on Osbourne’s first solo album.

“One day, Randy came up to me and said, ‘Would you mind if I did this classical piece for my mom?’” Osbourne recalled to Rolling Stone. “I said, ‘Absolutely. Go ahead.’ That became ‘Dee.’”

Nearly six decades after a brief encounter in a Northern California forest produced one of the most famous pieces of alleged evidence of Bigfoot, the footage remains as mysterious as ever.

The Patterson-Gimlin film, recorded on October 20, 1967, turns 59 this week. The roughly one-minute clip appears to show a large, hair-covered creature walking upright through the woods near Bluff Creek, California, before briefly turning its head toward the camera.

The footage was captured by Roger Patterson and Bob Gimlin, two Bigfoot enthusiasts who said they encountered the creature while exploring the area on horseback. Patterson had been searching for evidence of the legendary animal for years, according to the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization.

The resulting film quickly became a sensation, helping cement Bigfoot’s place in American popular culture, but the footage also sparked a debate that has continued for generations — was the figure an undiscovered animal, or was someone wearing a costume?

For Bigfoot believers, the footage remains a compelling piece of evidence. Some argue that the creature’s proportions and movements are difficult to explain as those of a human in a suit.

Skeptics, however, have questioned the film’s authenticity and pointed to the lack of independently verified physical evidence of Bigfoot. The Smithsonian Magazine has explored why the footage continues to divide believers and skeptics, noting that the film’s disputed status has endured even as cameras and recording technology have advanced considerably.

Despite decades of scrutiny, the clip has never settled the question of whether Bigfoot exists. Instead, it has become a lasting part of the creature’s mythology, inspiring further investigations, documentaries, and countless debates about what viewers are actually seeing.

The anniversary also arrives in a year that has brought renewed attention to the famous footage. The 2026 documentary Capturing Bigfoot, directed by Marq Evans, revisits the film and the people connected to its creation, examining claims of newly surfaced material related to the decades-old mystery.

Whether viewers see an undiscovered creature or an elaborate hoax, the Patterson-Gimlin film has achieved something few pieces of disputed evidence can claim: nearly 60 years later, people are still watching, analyzing and arguing over the same 59 seconds of footage.

In 1928, an Italian-born chef named Hector Boiardi turned the popularity of his Cleveland restaurant into a packaged-food business. There was only one hitch: Americans had trouble saying his last name.

His solution eventually became one of the most recognizable names in the supermarket aisle.

Boiardi and his family spelled the name phonetically for American customers, turning Boiardi into the much easier-to-pronounce Chef Boy-Ar-Dee, which eventually became Chef Boyardee.

The man whose face appeared on the products wasn’t a fictional mascot, either. He was a real chef with an impressive résumé long before canned pasta made him famous.

Born Ettore Boiardi in Piacenza, Italy, in 1897, Boiardi began working as an apprentice chef when he was just 11 years old. As a teenager, he immigrated to the United States and found work in some of the country’s most prestigious kitchens.

According to Chef Boyardee’s official history, by age 17 he was working at New York City’s Plaza Hotel. He also worked at The Greenbrier in West Virginia, where he helped oversee catering for President Woodrow Wilson’s wedding reception.

But Boiardi’s biggest break came after he went into business for himself.

In 1924, Boiardi and his wife, Helen, opened Il Giardino d’Italia in Cleveland, Ohio. His Italian dishes proved so popular that customers began asking if they could take his spaghetti sauce home with them.

Instead of simply handing over the recipe, Boiardi began filling cleaned milk bottles with his sauce and sending customers home with pasta so they could recreate his dishes in their own kitchens.

Demand quickly grew beyond what one restaurant could handle.

In 1928, Boiardi joined forces with his brothers Mario and Paul to establish the company that would become Chef Boyardee. Its early spaghetti dinner included pasta, tomato sauce and grated cheese, bringing a restaurant-style Italian meal into American homes at a time when Italian cuisine was far less familiar to many Americans than it is today.

There was still the matter of the family name.

Boiardi’s American customers and even some of his salespeople struggled to pronounce it correctly, so the company adopted the phonetic “Boy-Ar-Dee.” The spelling was later streamlined into the familiar “Boyardee.”

Boiardi didn’t take changing his family name lightly.

“Everyone is proud of his own family name, but sacrifices are necessary for progress,” he once explained, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Progress came quickly.

By the late 1930s, the growing business had moved production to Milton, Pennsylvania, where the company had access to the tomatoes needed for Boiardi’s sauce. The factory became particularly important during World War II.

Beginning in 1942, the Chef Boyardee plant operated around the clock producing food for American troops. Case Western Reserve University’s Encyclopedia of Cleveland History reports that by the end of the war, Chef Boy-Ar-Dee Quality Foods was generating $20 million in annual sales.

But the end of the war created a new problem. The enormous wartime operation no longer had the same military demand to support it, potentially putting employees’ jobs at risk.

According to Chef Boyardee’s official history, Boiardi made the difficult decision to sell the company in order to keep the workers who had been hired during the wartime production boom.

In 1946, Boiardi sold the business to American Home Foods for $6 million.

He didn’t disappear from the company that carried his name. Boiardi stayed on as a consultant until 1978 and became the familiar face of Chef Boyardee in advertising, ensuring generations of Americans knew exactly what the real Chef Boyardee looked like.

Boiardi died in 1985 at age 87.

Nearly a century after he first began packaging food from his Cleveland restaurant, his face and the phonetic version of his Italian surname are still on grocery-store shelves, making Chef Boyardee one of the rare food mascots who was very much a real person.

Bon Jovi are heading back out in 2027, and the run includes a return to London’s Hyde Park. The band announced a seven-date tour that opens in Australia in March and wraps up in Toronto in August, with a UK-exclusive headline show at BST Hyde Park on June 24.

The tour starts at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne on March 4 and moves to Accor Stadium in Sydney on March 11. After London, the band plays MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey, on July 15, Soldier Field in Chicago on July 21, Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on July 28 and Rogers Stadium in Toronto on Aug. 4.

The Hyde Park date has history. Bon Jovi were the first act announced for the inaugural Barclaycard British Summer Time festival in 2013, and they played the park on July 5 of that year. Jon Bon Jovi called the 2027 show “a full circle moment to be returning to BST Hyde Park.” Jim King, CEO of AEG Presents UK and European Festivals, called the band “one of the defining rock bands of their generation” and described the show as a rare return.

The announcement caps a comeback year. The Forever Tour was the band’s first extended run since Jon Bon Jovi’s vocal cord surgery in 2022. It opened in July with nine shows at Madison Square Garden, then moved on to Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, Croke Park in Dublin and three nights at Wembley Stadium in September. The Wembley shows were the band’s first in the UK since 2019.

On the final Wembley night, Sept. 9, Jon hinted at what was next. “We are booking a tour right now for next year,” he told the crowd, adding that it would be a long five or so months before the band went back on the road.

Pepsi is giving its classic cola a creamy new twist just in time for the holiday season.

The brand announced October 19 that Pepsi Vanilla & Cream and Pepsi Zero Sugar Vanilla & Cream are now available nationwide for a limited time. The new flavors combine Pepsi’s signature cola taste with rich vanilla and smooth cream flavors, offering a new option for fans looking to switch up their usual soda order.

Both varieties are available in 12-pack cans and 20-ounce bottles. The Zero Sugar version also contains zero calories, according to the company.

Pepsi is positioning the new drinks as an indulgent seasonal treat, whether shoppers want to pair them with their favorite holiday foods, serve them at a festive gathering or enjoy a cold soda at home.

Liev Schreiber is looking for a quieter life in his next television role, but his character’s move to a small Pennsylvania town quickly turns into a nightmare.

The actor stars in Nocturne, a new crime thriller premiering October 30 on Apple TV. The 10-episode series also stars Stephen Graham and Zazie Beetz, bringing together three actors known for their work in film and television.

Schreiber’s recent credits include Netflix’s mystery drama The Perfect Couple, in which he starred alongside Nicole Kidman, and Darren Aronofsky’s 2025 crime film Caught Stealing. He also returned to the world of Ray Donovan in the 2022 television movie, reprising the role that became one of his best-known performances. Now, in Nocturne, Schreiber takes on another troubled investigator, this time caught in a dangerous search for a serial killer’s final missing victim.

Schreiber plays Jonah Lynn, an ex-soldier turned homicide detective, who leaves Philadelphia hoping to escape the demands of his job. When a dangerous serial killer threatens the town and Jonah’s family, his plans for a fresh start fall apart.

Graham plays Jurek Walter, the calculating killer at the center of the investigation. When the search for Walter’s last missing victim intensifies, Jonah must send his surrogate daughter, FBI agent Saga Bauer, played by Beetz, into the investigation. The decision forces him to weigh the demands of the case against the safety of someone he considers family.

The series is based on the bestselling crime novel The Sandman by Lars Kepler, the pen name of Swedish writing duo Alexandra Coelho Ahndoril and Alexander Ahndoril. Their Joona Linna crime novels have sold 20 million copies worldwide and been translated into 40 languages, according to Apple.

Rowan Joffé, whose previous credits include Tin Star and Ballad of a Small Player, created the series for television and John Hlavin, known for Shooter, also writes and serves as a showrunner. Tim Van Patten, whose directing credits include The Sopranos, directs the first two episodes.

Nocturne premieres globally on Friday, October 30, with its first two episodes. New episodes will follow every Friday through December 25 on Apple TV.
