When Bob Dylan first heard folk singer Karen Dalton sing in the early 1960s, who knew he was listening to a true original? Though Dalton never became a household name, she had a haunting, bluesy voice that stopped other singers in their tracks—including Dylan, who was one of her biggest admirers.

Karen Dalton met Bob Dylan during both singers’ early years in the 1960s folk scene, when they were both trying to find their way in Greenwich Village. In Chronicles: Volume One, Dylan had high praise for Dalton, writing that she had a voice like Billie Holiday and played guitar like Jimmy Reed.

Remembering Karen J. Dalton (July 19, 1937 – March 19, 1993) She was an American folk blues singer, guitarist, and banjo player. She was associated with the early 1960s Greenwich Village folk music scene, particularly with Fred Neil, the Holy Modal Rounders, and Bob Dylan. Although she did not enjoy much commercial success during her lifetime, her music has gained significant recognition since her death. Dalton was born Jean Karen Cariker in Bonham, Texas, but was raised in Enid, Oklahoma. She also lived in Stillwater, Oklahoma and Lawrence, Kansas.  With two divorces behind her at the age of 21, Dalton left Oklahoma and arrived in Greenwich Village, New York City in the early 1960s. She brought her twelve string guitar, long-neck banjo, and at least one of her two children with her. And according to her daughter Abralyn Baird, at that point Dalton had lost two of her bottom teeth breaking up a fight between two of her boyfriends. In later years, Dalton lived in a mobile home located in a clearing off Eagle’s Nest Road, outside the town of Hurley, near Woodstock. She died there in March 1993 from an AIDS-related illness, aged 55. Even more striking, Bob Dylan called Karen Dalton his absolute favorite vocalist. Dalton never achieved mainstream success and wasn’t a polished pop star or someone with a string of hits, making Dylan’s praise even more meaningful. Karen Dalton was the kind of vocalist who made other singers stop and take notice. Dylan knew she had something special: an unusual, weathered voice unlike any other.

Karen Dalton would eventually perform alongside Bob Dylan and folk singer Fred Neil before moving part-time to Boulder, Colorado, becoming part of a community of musicians connected to both cities’ folk scenes.

But it was Dylan’s support that gave Karen Dalton a level of credibility she never received from the mainstream music business.

Dalton had a voice that was difficult to categorize. Her singing could sound fragile, weathered and deeply emotional, yet there was an unmistakable strength behind it. She brought an intimacy to the songs she performed that made them feel as though she were singing directly to the listener.

Dalton never seemed particularly interested in becoming a mainstream star, and her reluctance to conform to the music industry only added to her mystique. While other performers were building careers around hit records and carefully crafted public images, Dalton remained fiercely committed to her own artistic identity.

Bob Dylan, meanwhile, would go on to become one of the most influential singer-songwriters in American history. His early recognition of Dalton’s talent is a reminder that some of music’s most extraordinary vocalists don’t necessarily achieve worldwide fame.

Karen Dalton eventually achieved a sort of cult status among other musicians, thanks to her emotionally haunting voice and her unwillingness to become a mainstream artist.

She died in 1993 at the age of 55, but her music has continued to find new audiences decades later.

Artists including Nick Cave and Vanessa Carlton have spoken emphatically about Dalton’s influence, describing her as a powerful force who held onto her own artistic point of view.

Her music continues to reach new listeners through streaming platforms and classic folk and rock playlists, giving her recordings a second life and introducing a new generation to the singer Dylan admired so much.

But more than 60 years ago, Bob Dylan recognized Karen Dalton’s unique talent.

The rest of the world is finally catching up.

A former NFL player and college football star for Wake Forest University has died at 40 years old in Florida.

Per TMZ, Alphonso Smith Jr. played four seasons in the league — first with the Denver Broncos, followed by three more seasons with the Detroit Lions after being traded.

Drafted in the second round, the high-school All-American athlete fulfilled his dreams as the 37th pick in the NFL draft for the 2009 season after a stellar college tenure.

The standout defensive back only played a handful of games in his up-and-down final season, as it’s long been said that “NFL” really should stand for “Not For Long” as the average career surprisingly spans only 3.3 years.

Smith Jr. earned more than $4 million from his rookie contract, signing a four-year, $4.08 million deal with the Broncos after being drafted in 2009. His pro football career came to an end following the 2012 season.

Today marks a sad day for Smith’s family, friends and fans, as the former cornerback reportedly died by suicide Wednesday in Florida. His final Facebook post addressed his struggles.

In the post, Smith wrote, “Do not cry for me! I tried everything in my power to fight the demons behind the ones that someone put into ME! I did not want to be that WAY! I know I have disappointed so many folks. This is a DEMON in me! But not only me! It’s EVERYONE! I have HURT so many! I needed help & did not get it!”

He went on to apologize for his actions, ending the post with, “I am SORRY! THIS IS IT!”

Dolly Parton kept much of what was happening with her health out of the public eye before her death. Now her niece Jada Star is shedding some light on why.

One week after the country music legend died at age 80 following a brief battle with cancer, Star spoke to Extra about her family’s loss and the privacy surrounding Parton’s health struggles.

“You know, we kind of kept all that stuff real private and so she never wanted to worry anybody,” Star said when asked whether Parton’s second hospitalization had come as a shock. “So I think it was just a shock on Tuesday.”

Parton’s cancer diagnosis was not publicly revealed before her death on August 25, and her representatives only confirmed afterward that she had faced a “brief battle with cancer.” The specific type of cancer has not been disclosed.

While Parton had acknowledged experiencing health problems, she remained upbeat. In May, she revealed that her immune and digestive systems had gotten “all out of whack” over the previous three years. She was later hospitalized and acknowledged that she had neglected some of her own health while caring for her husband, Carl Dean, before his March 2025 death.

Even as her health declined, Parton remained focused on her work—something Star believes her aunt would expect the family to do now, too. “She would also tell us to start drying it up and start trying to get back to work and love each other real hard,” Star said, becoming emotional.

Star, who is also a singer-songwriter herself, reflected on the advice Parton gave her throughout her life, including one question that stuck with her: “Why are you worried about what other people think?”

Star said she relied on those words while recently participating in a Grand Ole Opry tribute to her aunt and plans to carry Parton’s influence into her own writing and teaching.

When asked what she would tell Parton if she had one more opportunity, Star again became emotional. “I think I would just say thank you so much. And I love you so much,” she said. “And I know you’re OK.”

Southwest Airlines is going where Southwest Airlines has never gone before—the airport lounge.

The airline, once known for its no-frills business model, has been rapidly undergoing a facelift in recent years. After ditching its unique open-seating model and its two free checked bags policy, the airline announced it will be making a splash with its first-ever airport lounges beginning in 2027.

Southwest Airlines announced a partnership with Chase—known for their luxury Chase Sapphire Reserve Lounges—to create a premium and welcoming airport experience, the company announced on Wednesday, September 2.

Construction in underway at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport, Daniel K. Inouye (Honolulu) International Airport, and Nashville International Airport, with grand openings slated for late 2027. Seven other airport lounges are planned for opening over the next several years.

Cassandra Wilson, the two-time Grammy Award-winning jazz singer, songwriter and producer, died Tuesday, Sept. 1, in her hometown of Jackson, Mississippi. She was 70.

Wilson’s death was confirmed by her longtime manager, Robert Torre, who said she “transitioned peacefully at home, surrounded by family, close friends, and her manager.” A cause of death was not announced.

Born in Jackson in 1955, Wilson began playing piano at 6 and guitar by 12, and was already performing professionally as a vocalist by the mid-’70s. She later moved to New York City in the early 1980s, where she became a founding vocalist of the influential M-Base Collective alongside saxophonist Steve Coleman.

Wilson’s breakthrough came with “Blue Light ‘Til Dawn,” a landmark 1993 Blue Note Records release that reimagined the American songbook by weaving in blues, country and folk influences, a genre-bending style that would define her career. Her 1995 follow-up, “New Moon Daughter,” is widely considered her masterpiece and earned her a Grammy for Best Jazz Vocal Performance. She won a second Grammy in 2008 for “Loverly.”

In 2001, Time magazine dubbed her “America’s best singer,” a tribute Jackson Mayor John Horhn called fitting for “an artist whose voice and imagination were unmistakable.” Wilson went on to become a 2022 NEA Jazz Master, one of the highest honors in American jazz, alongside fellow honorees Stanley Clarke, Billy Hart and Donald Harrison.

Her influence stretched across generations of musicians. Jon Batiste, paying tribute on Instagram, said Wilson’s artistry left a lasting mark on his own music: “Her Mississippi heritage was always present in everything.”

Wilson also performed in Wynton Marsalis‘ “Blood on the Fields,” the first jazz work to win a Pulitzer Prize, and in 2015 she staged a tribute concert at the Apollo Theater honoring the 100th birthday of Billie Holiday before releasing her final album, “Coming Forth by Day,” a tribute to Holiday’s legacy.

Jameela Jamil is once again making her feelings about cosmetic beauty standards very known.

The Good Place actress shared a lengthy message on Instagram Tuesday, September 2, criticizing the use of Botox among women, particularly as she watches people around her enter their 40s.

“I can’t look at Botoxed faces anymore. I miss the faces that move,” Jamil began her text post. “I miss women frowning and laughing without it looking painful.”

Jamil, 40, went on to say that she has watched her peers inject “all the wild” out of themselves, something she admitted she misses “terribly.” While stressing that she didn’t intend to judge or offend those who use Botox, she argued that women are giving up something important in pursuit of a particular appearance.

“I just miss the facial freedom of women,” she wrote. “Botox is a prison that presents as stoicism in a time women should be fucking ROARING.”

The actress also took aim at the pressure she believes is driving women toward cosmetic procedures, arguing, “We should not be paying to take risks with our faces and health, to be tamed by a bunch of men who fancy children.”

Jamil said the trend has even affected how she watches television, claiming she has become distracted by the lack of expression she sees from some performers. “I can’t watch TV anymore without being distracted by how expressionless my favourite actors have become,” she continued. “It’s too much. We have lost a grip on reality.”

Fans were quick to jump in the comments, with some agreeing and others… not so much.

“We need micro-expressions to communicate properly, it freaks me out that you can’t tell what they are thinking. Ladies, don’t delete your subtitles!” one quipped.

Another wrote, “I feel this should be a valid thing to say without backlash. I miss seeing people’s facial expressions, now most people look frozen.”

“I love Botox. If you don’t like it respect those who does. We have come a long way to have the power of choice and some of us choose to,” a third commented.

A fourth replied, “I don’t really think you can say this when you wear make up every single day in every single interview you overline your lips.”

It’s not the first time Jamil has taken a strong stance against changing one’s appearance to meet beauty standards. In February, she criticized what she viewed as increasing conformity among women in Hollywood, specifically pointing to cosmetic surgery and the use of medications such as Ozempic solely for weight loss.

“I’m f***ing sick of it, and I don’t want to be obedient ever, and I don’t want to be compliant ever,” Jamil said at the time. “I would like to live a life of spite.”

Jordan Chiles has spoken, finally answering the question she left hanging at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships last month: She’s going for LA 2028.

The 25-year-old Olympic gold medalist announced Wednesday, Sept. 2, through a bespoke short film narrated by none other than Michael Jordan himself, that she’s returning to elite competition with her sights set on her third Olympic Games.

Following her stint on Dancing With the Stars and her new role as a student coach for the UCLA Bruins women’s gymnastics team, Chiles made it clear that she’s not done with elite gymnastics just yet. With NBA great Michael Jordan providing the narration, the Chicago Bulls legend asks why she would return, why she would continue and why now.

As footage shows Chiles walking along the beach, Jordan explains that her dream isn’t finished and that she believes she still has more to give. Chiles then reveals a custom grill on her teeth that reads, “LA 2028.”

The video ends with Chiles delivering the simplest possible answer to why she’s returning to Olympic competition.

“Why not?” she says before revealing her custom grill.

There’s arguably no one more fitting to narrate a comeback video for Chiles than Michael Jordan himself.

Chiles was named after the basketball legend, making his participation in the video more than stunt casting or a celebrity favor. Few athletes know reinvention and comebacks quite like Michael Jordan.

Like Simone Biles, Tom Brady, Aaron Donald and Jordan himself, all of whom have at one point in their careers returned to their sport at the top of their game, Chiles is returning to gymnastics competition with nothing left to prove.

She was part of the U.S. team that won silver at the Tokyo Olympics and then a member of the gold-medal-winning Paris 2024 team. Following her gold medal in Paris, Chiles returned to UCLA to finish her college career as one of the most decorated athletes in Bruins history, winning four NCAA individual championships and earning 19 perfect 10s.

Chiles returns to competition as both a college student coach and one of the most followed and decorated women’s gymnasts competing today.

What better place and time to do just that?

The 2028 Olympic Games will be held in Los Angeles, a city where Chiles spent the past several years building a life and a legacy at UCLA. Still connected to UCLA through her new role, her return for LA 2028 feels almost inevitable.

The Olympics will be held practically in her backyard.

For Chiles, competing in Los Angeles would also provide the opportunity to experience an Olympic Games on home soil after competing internationally in Tokyo and Paris.

It would be a very different kind of Olympic experience for a gymnast who has already experienced the highs and lows that come with competing on the world’s biggest stage.

Now that Chiles has announced her intention to compete at the LA 2028 Olympics, fans are already gearing up to see one of their favorite squads, the Golden Girls, reunite one more time.

Suni Lee has already announced her return to training. Jade Carey and Hezly Rivera are also pursuing spots on the LA 2028 team, meaning four of the five members of the Paris gold-medal-winning team have now set their sights on Los Angeles.

Only one member of the Golden Girls has yet to state her intention for LA 2028.

1970 was a wild ride for The Doors, especially on stage. By year’s end, the band’s live shows had grown so unpredictable that they decided to stop touring for good. Now, the two surviving members, John Densmore and Robby Krieger, are looking back at that turbulent stretch with a brand-new live album.

The record, Unbound and Dangerous, pulls together 16 remixed tracks from the band’s 1970 “Roadhouse Blues Tour,” capturing Densmore, Krieger, Ray Manzarek, and frontman Jim Morrison in their final tour. Manzarek passed away in 2013; Morrison died in 1971, just six months after the group’s last-ever concert.

Nearly every track hails from 1970, with one exception: “Soul Kitchen,” recorded July 21, 1969, at Hollywood’s Aquarius Theatre.

Densmore, Krieger, and longtime collaborator Bruce Botnick assembled the album together. Botnick’s history with the band runs deep; he engineered their studio records and stepped in as producer on L.A. Woman after original producer Paul A. Rothchild walked away following creative clashes with the band.

Unbound and Dangerous hits shelves and streaming platforms on October 23, arriving on CD, MP3, and a two-LP red vinyl edition, plus a Blu-ray release featuring Dolby Atmos and high-resolution stereo mixes.

In an Instagram post announcing the project, Botnick reflected on what made those shows so electric. “The fans came in the thousands to Doors concerts looking for danger and excitement,” he wrote. “Jim was always reading the room and knew how far to push the envelope.”

That instinct, though, came alongside a rockier period for Morrison personally. By 1970, his drinking had visibly taken a toll; he’d put on weight and grown a heavy beard, while his off-stage behavior grew increasingly erratic. That August, he was arrested for public drunkenness after a Los Angeles resident found him passed out on her front steps and couldn’t wake him. The incident followed a notorious 1969 Miami concert, after which he was convicted the following year of indecent exposure and profanity; he was sentenced to six months in prison but died in Paris before serving any time.

Unbound and Dangerous freezes The Doors at that exact breaking point, dazzling performances underscored by real turmoil, offering fans a front-row seat to the unpredictable final months before the band stepped away from touring for good.

There are hairstyles that look great on the page of a magazine, and then there are cuts that actually work with your personal hair type, face and schedule. Many of us love the fantasy of a certain style, but when it comes time to bring it into reality, it’s not a good fit.

It’s one of the most requested styles in salons, it photographs beautifully and it has a devoted following. But, it might be the reason your hair isn’t doing what you want it to do.

The culprit is the blunt cut—a one-length style with a clean, unbroken edge. It’s been a trend for decades, it looks precise, feels modern and works great for some people. But when the goal is to keep hair looking light and lifted, a clean-edge cut can work against you.

“One-length cuts can weigh down the face, making features look heavier or more angular,” Diaz said. The problem is that when a cut doesn’t have any variation in length, hair falls in a single unbroken line that pulls the eye straight down rather than drawing it upward toward the eyes and cheekbones.

Layers create movement and dimension that gives hair energy and lift. “They help soften the jawline and draw the eye upward, both of which contribute to a more lifted and youthful appearance,” Diaz said.

By breaking up the weight of the cut, layers allow hair to breathe and move rather than hang there lifeless.

“Unlike one-length styles that risk dragging the face down, these softer shapes bring life back into your hair, especially as it thins over time,” Korab added.

Top stylist Adam Federico agreed: “A chic cut with natural movement feels modern and fresh at any age,” he said.

Both approaches work, the right choice depends on your hair type, length and face shape.

“Layers around the face help lift the cheekbones and draw attention upward,” Diaz previously shared with Parade. You can pair face-framing layers with curtain bangs, which “gently part around the face, drawing attention to the eyes while masking forehead lines,” he added.

Or, worn as a classic lob, face-framing layers soften the jawline and pull focus upward. They work well at almost any length and are particularly effective for anyone who feels like their hair is pulling their features downward.

Long layers are the better fit for anyone with finer or thinning hair who wants volume and movement without sacrificing length. They “lift the face visually while slimming the jawline and elongating the profile,” Diaz explained, adding dimension and bounce throughout the cut rather than just at the front.

Loose waves amplify the effect because the layers move with the waves, giving hair that lived-in, natural quality.

Lionel Richie is back home and out of the hospital.

The singer-songwriter checked himself into the intensive care unit after a show in St. Louis on Saturday evening. He went to the hospital as a precaution and has returned to his Los Angeles home,

The 77-year-old “Endless Love” singer is “doing great,” according to People. He was tested for cardiac-related issues and was ready to be discharged on Wednesday, Sept, per TMZ. The outlet shared that Richie was originally concerned about mild dehydration, with hope to be released on Tuesday.

During his St. Louis performance on Aug. 29 at The Muny, his team had to bring him a chair for his final song of the show, “All Night Long,” TMZ reported. This is not the first time Richie has had a medical issue on stage.

In June, the Grammy Award winner ended his concert early after becoming ill, the Minnesota Star Tribune reported. They wrote that he told fans he was feeling dizzy and joked that this was his first time singing “Dancing on the Ceiling” while seated.

He postponed two performances to “rest and return to full health,” making his way back on stage on June 30.

“Had you worried there for a minute, huh?” Richie said on stage, according to TribLive. “You have no idea what I have been through in the last 24 hours, listening to my friends tell me their advice on what I should be doing.”

In July, he told fans that he was “well” on Instagram.

“Thank you for every message, every kind word, and for all your love. ❤️ I’m doing well, and I’m grateful for all of you,” he shared. “Pittsburgh and Detroit were an absolute joy. The energy, the dancing, the faces in the crowd… we made real memories together. See you in Toronto… let’s party all night long! 🎉.”

Richie is currently touring with Earth, Wind & Fire for the Sing a Song All Night Long tour. His next show is set for Sept. 26 in San Francisco.

Erin Andrews is looking back on the horrific moment when she discovered that a stalker filmed her through a peephole and leaked the video online.

Andrews, 48, who rose to prominence on ESPN, is now a lead sideline reporter for Fox Sports alongside Kevin Burkhardt and Tom Brady. But the sports standout made headlines back in 2009 after she was secretly filmed through a peephole while in her hotel room. The video was posted online, and Andrews faced the nightmare of some people claiming she did it for attention. On the Wednesday, Sept. 2 episode of Call Her Daddy, Andrews opened up to Alex Cooper about the experience, which happened while she was working as a sideline reporter for ESPN’s College GameDay. While working the ESPYs, a friend called her repeatedly and told her the news.

“He’s like, ‘There’s naked video of you all over the internet,’ and I said, ‘No, there’s not. I don’t do that. I just don’t.’”

Andrews immediately called her parents.

“I was screaming, crying because it was me and it was me naked in a hotel room walking around, and I just out-of-body experience started screaming,” she recalled.

PEOPLE reported that the stalker, Michael David Barrett, had followed Andrews to multiple cities. He shot several videos of her through the peepholes of hotel rooms by calling ahead and requesting to stay in the room adjacent to Andrews’.

“There was this disgusting person following me around and he was setting up his cell phone right up to my hotel room,” Andrews told Cooper. “He would take off the peephole at the door. He would ask for a room next to me and the hotel never alerted me that this was happening, so they would put this person next to me. He would wait and listen and he could tell when I was getting into the shower because he could hear it and he would stand there with a camera and he filmed me getting ready and then he put it on the internet.”

Barrett was arrested by the FBI in Oct. 2009 and sentenced to two and a half years in jail. He was also ordered to pay over $12,000 in fines and restitution. PEOPLE also noted that Andrews later sued Barrett and Marriott International and Radisson Hotels. After a lengthy trial, she was awarded $55 million in damages in 2016.

Andrews also noted that some people thought she leaked the video herself for attention.

“I was on the cover of newspapers, just a still frame of the video, my naked body, and it said ‘ESPN Scandal.’ People thought I did it to myself for publicity or to, you know, help my career. Which was the exact opposite of how I was feeling,” she shared. “I was feeling shame, like I would never get work again. I would never be taken seriously.”

Deb Chubb would be the first to tell you she had no idea what she was getting herself into when she agreed to go on The Challenge. Luckily, the Love Island alum had a taste of the villa life when she arrived in Thailand, not only in the form of fellow islander Leo DiNocio, but quickly developing an attraction to her teammate Will Gagnon. The two soon became entwined, forming one of a surprising number of pairings that began developing from jump in the house.

Having the company helped allay the feelings of isolation, considering she was the only rookie on a team stacked with some of the biggest legends of the game. But having those legends on her side helped her immensely when she was sent into the first women’s elimination of the season. Going “ball-in” against Reilly Smedley, she left the arena victorious, sporting one of the most unique celebrations in the show’s history. Things got dirty for Deb, however, when she tackled Sydney Segal during a full-contact daily. Incidentally, her move had injured Sydney’s knee, leading to her medical removal from the competition. But the former Survivor player was feeling fiery, calling Deb a “waste of space” and criticizing her body behind her back.

The next day, when Orange lost a daily, Deb found herself more exposed than a set of pasties. Captain Tori Deal took the easy route, putting her into elimination yet again. This time, however, she was not going up against a rookie, but instead a two-time champ and 17-time elimination winner Cara Maria Sorbello. And, in this case, experience won out. As Deb tried desperately to pump up an inflatable with a rowing machine, all the air was let out of her game. So she left Thailand with her head held high — and a faux engagement ring from Will.

What was your familiarity with The Challenge going into the show?
My familiarity with the show is nothing! [Laughs.] I’m just happy to be here, but I knew of all these people. Olivia is from Love Island, so I spoke to her before going in, and she literally said, “You need to be friends with Tori and Michelle. And then I ended up on a team with them. I actually was also in Johnny’s DMs in 2018. That is a long, deep-rooted history there. But Johnny and I are also real friends. I had the best rookie season anybody could ever ask for because of these people. It was a rookie boot camp, and they guided me to greatness.

How confident were you going into your second elimination, especially against someone who has had so much success in the arena as Cara Maria?
I literally said before going into this elimination, “The worst-case scenario would be if my team can’t help me.” And guess what? It was the first elimination of the season where my team couldn’t see. Honestly, I don’t know if they would have been able to help me because it was memorizing those symbols. But going against Cara, I mean, I was confident because I didn’t know her elimination record. I didn’t know she was the elimination legend. I knew she was a legend in the game, but not to the extent of just eliminations. I said it on the show: Going against her is kind of an honor. If you think this is a fair matchup, everybody else, slay! [Laughs.]

Going back to your first elimination, what did it feel like to take home the victory? And what led to one of the most unique celebrations in Challenge history? [Laughs.]
[Laughs.] I mean, going into the elimination, I think what really helped was I had zero expectations because I haven’t seen a lot of the show. Obviously, it was my first time in there. So when I went in with Cara, I was a little more nervous because also my stake in the game had gotten bigger; I wanted to be there even more. But I remember halfway through, I was like, “F—k this! I want to sit down. I want this to end”. And then I got my water break, and that really saved me. I’m not gonna lie. But the flash was Tori and Michele’s idea, and they were like, “If you win, you have to do it. It’s gonna be iconic.” And I was like, “If you guys say so. I’ll do it. You know I love a good time!” I didn’t know it’s never been done. It was so funny because only the girls on my team knew, so everybody else and the crew was like… [Looks away sheepishly.]

[Laughs.] Were people looking at Will, like, “Is this okay?”
No one cares about him! [Laughs.]

[Laughs.] Well, let’s get into that! Because we hear both of you say that you are “disgustingly similar.” What had you developing such a quick connection so early on?
Our personalities just really mesh well. He’s really easy to get along with. He also was kind of like a comfort to me in there. Obviously, I had the girls, but it was nice to know that he had my back with the boys — I hope! But I think it was just our personalities. I am such a sucker for a personality, and he understood my humor, I understood his. But we also were able to focus when we needed to. So just like we just mesh well.

Did you find your relationship develop over the course of your time on the season together?
We started to hit some rocky points right before I left. I think maybe he was realizing that I need to focus on the game, like I’m getting a little distracted. And I was like, “Well, if you don’t want anything, like, just tell me!” And he’s like, “No, it’s fine.” And then my elimination was literally the next day. But I mean, even after that conversation, we still were like hanging out the whole day before my elimination and everything. I mean, it was going in a good direction. But I think his main focus, obviously, was to win.

So where did his proposal come from? Just to alleviate your anxiety?
I think so. I think it was just a funny, silly thing like that he and Johnny and CT put together, just to make me feel better, maybe a little bit supported going in.

Did the two of you connect after coming back to the U.S.? Where do the two of you stand now?
I mean, we only rekindled the premiere, so it’s only been like a couple weeks. But we’re friends. We’ve hung out a couple times, nothing really crazy. But who knows? We’ll see.

I want to expand out to the Orange team in general. Who were you working closest with by the time you had left?
As you saw in this last episode, Izzy and I kind of had a moment where we were like, “Maybe we’re kind of screwed here.” Because it is a very vet-heavy team. It was kind of to the point where it was Will, Justin, Izzy, and I versus the “mega vets,” and we were like, “We might be kind of screwed here, especially Izzy and I.” Once we knew that Michele was off the table, we were like, “We better start winning these eliminations, I guess.”

Was there anyone else from the other teams you were working with?
Not really working with. But obviously I know Leo had my back because of Love Island. I had good relationship with everybody pretty much on the other teams, and I think it got to the point where if they were in charge, they might not have put me into elimination because they probably wouldn’t think I would have done good in a final. [Laughs.] But obviously, with Cutthroat, I felt very supported by everyone, honestly.

Well, let’s talk about one not-so-supportive moment involving someone from another team. We need to get into everything with Sydney. First, walk me through what happened when you tackled her in that daily in the mud.
I had no intention of targeting her. I obviously had no intention of hurting anybody. I just never tackled somebody in my life, so jumping on someone’s back kind of seemed like the easiest thing to do. I’m not gonna shoulder [bump] them. If I go on the back, then I can maybe punch the ball out. There really was no strategy for me in this game, but I just saw people doing that, and then I was doing it. And people were coming down and losing the ball, and I was like, “Oh, okay.” I didn’t think twice about somebody possibly getting hurt, which is a rookie mistake, my bad. And obviously, I felt horrible when that happened.

When Sydney gets taken into the ambulance after the daily, what was your reaction?
Well, at first I didn’t realize that I did it. I was like, “Holy s—t! Was I the reason for this?” And I forget who it was, but they were like, “Yeah.” And I was like, “Oh my gosh!” So once we got out and I saw her in the ambulance, crying, I went to go say sorry. And she literally like yelled at me, and I was like, “Oh s—t!” I was so taken aback because I just personally wouldn’t have handled it like that. And obviously I knew that I wasn’t doing anything intentionally. So yeah, it was crazy.

We later see Sydney make a number of comments about you behind your back, including personal remarks about your body. Walk me through your reaction to that, and what happened when you confronted her about those comments?
So I was like, “She wanted her space.” And I understood her talking s—t. She’s hurt, she’s sad, I got that. Be mad at me because I did this to you, and I obviously didn’t mean to. But when it became personal, and this was like day three of her talking s—t, all I wanted to do was apologize and sit down with her and be like, “I did not mean to do this. I am so sorry. How can I help and support you?”

When it got to her talking to men, first of all, about my boobs, my hair, my tan, I don’t contribute anything to society, I’m a waste of space, I’m like, “First of all, you’ve never really asked me anything personal. How do you know what I do or don’t do to society? Second of all, what does this have to do with the fact that you got injured? You’re just now tearing me down to make yourself feel better in any way you can. That’s so awful.” So when people told me that she was talking s—t, I was like, “What? Why are my boobs a part of this conversation?” So that’s really what set me off. And I was like, “If you have something to say, please f—king speak to me. It’s been three days of you telling me not to speak to you. I’ve been respecting your wishes. But why are you talking about me, but not to me?” So yeah, it was just a build-up.

Have the two of you cleared the air since your time in Thailand?
She did. She messaged me and apologized, which I really appreciated. But I mean, then I just heard her on podcasts still talking s—t. I accept her apology, and I am still praying for her, sending her well wishes and everything. I know how hard of a recovery this is. I just don’t think I could be friends with somebody who thinks all these non-PC things about me, who clearly has these horrible negative opinions of me. I can’t pretend to be your friend.

Finally, you’ve talked about how you didn’t necessarily know what you were getting into with going onto The Challenge. Would you ever want to come back again?
Honestly, in there, I was like, “I don’t know if I could ever do it again.” But the further I got, the more I was in it, I was like, “F—k!” I actually would like to train and see what I’m capable of and go back and try again. Why not? I’m not opposed.

On Tuesday, September 1, the Wall Street Journal reported that the 36-year-old Kansas City Chiefs player purchased a gorgeous, lakefront home in his native Ohio. He acquired the $5.35 million property located along the Bratenahl coast of Lake Erie months ahead of the couple’s July 3rd wedding.

According the home’s Zillow listing, the single-family residence built in 1895 is a 3.5-acre lot that “underwent an extensive year-long transformation where the greatest of care was taken to bring the home into the 21st century.” It boasts a newly-built patio and pool, a “grand” dining room, a game room, home theater, a fitness center with a sauna, a two-bedroom guest cottage, and a “state-of-the-art Control4 smart home system has been seamlessly integrated.”

A TikTok user named @confettiandcaviarbyaf got an inside look at Swift and Kelce’s new home while attending a party there last year, calling the property “amazing.” The video showed off estate’s cozy interior, living room, spacious backyard, and lavish pool.

Gigi Hadid‘s latest magazine cover has Elizabeth Hurley‘s stamp of approval.

Covering a new issue of 72 magazine, Hadid sported the iconic Versace look that was originally worn by the actress at a movie premiere in 1994. Attending with boyfriend at the time, Hugh Grant, Hurley’s ensemble, which eventually became known as the “safety pin dress,” caused a stir and has become solidified in pop culture and synonymous with the decade.

Hadid, 31, shared the magazine cover on her Instagram first. Then Hurley, 61, followed sharing her own post of the cover, along with a side-by-side image of the two of them and a snap from the night she wore the dress.

Speaking with People in 2024, the Austin Powers star said that she hadn’t even heard of the famed designer brand ahead of wearing the dress.
