“He’s so back!” rising country artist Dzaki Sukarno said.

“It’s easy to get lost in this world. Sometimes you have no idea how deep into it you are until you step back and look,” he wrote.

The musician explained that the decision wasn’t easy, but it was necessary for his “faith, family and fans.”

“My faith comes first, and right now I don’t feel right stepping on stage without the confidence that I’m living as the man God has called me to be,” the musician continued, adding, “For that reason, I’m pausing touring for the time being. I’m actively seeking professional help and focusing on my faith, my health/mental health and my family.”

Eight shows in Texas, Arizona and California were canceled or postponed.

2003 Pop Smash, Never a Billboard No. 1, Is Becoming a Timeless Stadium Anthem

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 10:54pm

Few have defined generations like HilaryDuff

The 38-year-old actress and singer spoke to People about what it means to grow up as such an important figure for so many people.

“I hear that a lot from people, [that I was an important part of their childhood], and I wear a badge of honor,” Duff says.

Her career began in 1998 with her first major role in Casper Meets Wendy. In 2001, she starred in Disney Channel’s Lizzie McGuire, which she is still recognized for to this day.

The childhood star also appeared in Cadet Kelly (2002), Agent Cody Banks (2003), A Cinderella Story (2004), and Cheaper by the Dozen (2003).

Duff pursued a music career in the early 2000s. She made her studio album debut in 2002 with a Christmas album called Santa Claus Lane. This was followed by 2003’s Metamorphosis, 2004’s Hilary Duff, and 2007’s Dignity.

After more than a decade, Duff began the "Small Rooms, Big Nerves" mini-tour in January. She is now on “The Lucky Me" tour.

“What’s been so fun about the live shows is realizing how much the old songs mean to people,” she said. “A lot of those songs just live rent-free in my head, so it’ll be nice for the other music to catch up and join the mix.”

While performing, she sings some of her well-known tracks, such as “Wake Up,” “So Yesterday,” “With Love,” “Why Not,” and “Come Clean.” She recently leaned into nostalgia and has performed “What Dreams Are Made of,” a beloved song from The Lizzie McGuire Movie

Duff shared that fans have “supported this new album in such a major way.”

Adding, “It’s this very cool way to connect in our lives now — everyone’s grown up, and we feel like we have a lot of the same life experiences. It’s like more real-world s---, and it’s fun to mix those two together.”

1978 Rock Classic, Written in 15 Minutes, Resurfaced 19 Years Later

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 10:37pm

In 1978, Walter Egan scored the biggest hit of his career with a song that came together almost as quickly as listeners fell in love with it.

"Magnet and Steel" was reportedly written in just 15 minutes, becoming a Top 10 hit and the defining song of Egan's career. Nearly two decades later, the soft rock favorite found an entirely new audience after being featured in the 1997 comedy Boogie Nights, giving the classic single a well-deserved second life.

The song's inspiration was deeply personal.

Egan wrote "Magnet and Steel" about his feelings toward singer Stevie Nicks, whom he had known since the early 1970s.

"On the night when Stevie did the background vocals for my song 'Tunnel o' Love,' my nascent amorous feelings toward her came into a sharper focus—I was smitten by the kitten, as they say," Egan told Songfacts, as reported by Classic Song of the Day. "It was on my drive home at 3 a.m. from Van Nuys to Pomona that I happened to be behind a metal-flake-blue Continental with ground effects and a diamond window in back. I was inspired by the car's license plate: 'Not Shy.' By the time I pulled into my driveway I had formulated the lyrics and come up with the magnet metaphor. From there the song was finished in 15 minutes."

While the lyrics use the metaphor of opposite forces attracting each other, the song reflects the emotional push and pull of a complicated romance. Fittingly, Nicks herself appears on the recording, contributing distinctive background vocals that helped shape its signature sound.

The recording also featured several future rock legends.

Produced by Lindsey Buckingham, “Magnet and Steel” included Buckingham on guitar and vocals, while Fleetwood Mac drummer Mick Fleetwood also played on the track. Their contributions gave the song a polished California rock sound that fit perfectly alongside many of the era's biggest soft rock hits.

Listeners embraced it immediately.

Released as a single from Egan’s album Not Shy, "Magnet and Steel" climbed to No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and became a staple of FM radio. Although Egan never matched its commercial success, the song remained a favorite on classic rock and adult contemporary playlists throughout the following decades.

"'Magnet and Steel' was on my second LP and its run in 1978 was the culmination of 14 years of songwriting and eight years of trying to make it in the music business," Egan later told Rock Cellar Magazine. "I recognized that it was accomplishing things that none of my previous releases had done and it was a heady feeling, like suddenly being admitted to a club that you had previously been denied. I was enjoying the moment way too much to even consider its long term destiny. It was cool enough to just be able to turn on the radio and hear it at that time."

Then came its unexpected revival.

In 1997, "Magnet and Steel" appeared on the soundtrack to Paul Thomas Anderson's acclaimed film Boogie Nights. The movie introduced the song to a younger generation of listeners, sparking renewed interest in Egan's catalog and helping the track enjoy another wave of radio airplay and soundtrack popularity.

The renewed exposure demonstrated the song’s lasting appeal. Its shimmering guitars, memorable chorus and Fleetwood Mac connections continued to resonate with audiences long after its original chart run had ended.

More than 45 years after its release, "Magnet and Steel" remains Walter Egan's signature recording. What began as a song written in just 15 minutes ultimately became a timeless soft rock classic, one that proved great songs can find new fans decades after they first hit the airwaves.

'70s Soft Rock Legend and Member of Beloved Rock Band Turns 78

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 10:08pm

Walter Egan is celebrating a milestone birthday with more than five decades of music behind him.

Born on July 12, 1948, the singer-songwriter turns 78 after building a career that has taken him from surf rock and country rock to one of the most recognizable soft-rock hits of the late 1970s.

Egan began playing music as a teenager and formed the surf-rock group The Malibooz with guitarist John Zambetti. He later performed with Sageworth and Drums while studying at Georgetown University before moving to Los Angeles to pursue music professionally.

There, Egan eventually received an offer to record as a solo artist. He released his debut album, Fundamental Roll, in 1977 and began his close working relationship with Fleetwood Mac members Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks.

That connection continued the following year on Egan's second album, Not Shy. Its tracklist included "Magnet and Steel," which reached No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100. Buckingham helped produce the track, while both he and Nicks contributed background vocals.

Nicks also inspired the song. Egan explained that he did not realize at the time how important it would become, but believed the honesty behind it helped listeners connect with the recording.

"I think there's a sincerity in the lyric and in the song itself," he told Highwire Daze. He added that having Nicks sing on a song written about her created "some kind of magic circuit."

Although "Magnet and Steel" became a major hit, Egan's career was defined by much more than one song. His other releases included "Only the Lucky" and "Hot Summer Nights," while Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris recorded his song "Hearts on Fire" for Parsons' 1974 album Grievous Angel.

Egan also spent several years as a member of Burrito Deluxe, a country-rock group connected to the legacy of the Flying Burrito Brothers. He later continued with The Burritos, appearing on the band's 2011 album Sound As Ever.

He continued releasing solo music throughout the following decades, including Fascination in 2021 and Pluck! in 2023. His catalog has also remained visible through movies and television, with "Magnet and Steel" appearing in films including Boogie Nights and This Is 40.

Egan remains active in music today. He is performing throughout 2026 as part of the Yacht Rock the Dock concert series, where he joins artists including John Ford Coley, Peter Beckett and Elliot Lurie backed by Ambrosia.

His early career has also received renewed attention with The Album Collection 1977–1980, a four-disc set released in June that brings together his first four Columbia albums. Egan has also completed a memoir titled Magnetude: My Secrets to Reveal and is searching for a publisher.

As Egan turns 78, "Magnet and Steel" remains a soft-rock favorite, but his work as a songwriter, solo artist and band member has given him a career that is remembered for far more than his biggest hit.

Best-Selling Author’s Mystery Novel Ranked Among ‘Most Read Books’ on Goodreads

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 9:56pm

Tiffany Crum's debut novel has quickly become one of the books readers can't put down.

This Story Might Save Your Life is currently ranked No. 30 on Goodreads' list of the most-read books this week in the United States, a ranking based on the titles users have marked as finished during that period. The milestone comes just months after the mystery novel arrived on March 10, 2026, and became an instant New York Times bestseller.

The story follows best friends Benny Abbott and Joy Moore, the hosts of a wildly popular podcast dedicated to strange and often darkly funny survival stories. Their lucrative media empire is suddenly thrown into chaos when Joy and her husband, Xander, disappear, leaving behind a shattered window, an empty house and an unfinished draft of Joy's memoir.

Benny is desperate to find them, but the police soon begin treating him as their prime suspect. As the hours pass, the memoir reveals secrets that complicate everything listeners thought they knew about the famous friends and the relationships behind their public personas.

Part of the novel's appeal lies in the way it crosses genres.

View this post on Instagram

Crum combines a twist-filled mystery with romance, humor and an emotionally grounded exploration of friendship. Rather than focusing only on the disappearance, the story also examines what happens when two people build a bond and a career under the constant scrutiny of millions of devoted listeners.

"Writing this book forced me to think about suspense differently," Crum told Crime Reads. "Joy's disappearance spills outward into a community that already loves her. When the missing person has been narrating your commute for years, the story doesn't stay between detectives and family. It belongs to everyone who feels entitled to an answer."

The fictional podcast at the center of the book was partly inspired by Crum's longtime love of My Favorite Murder. She became fascinated by the closeness listeners feel toward podcast hosts and by the potential strain that sudden fame could place on a friendship. Those ideas became the foundation for Benny and Joy and their rise from ordinary friends to media personalities.

"Again and again, I returned to the same question: what happens when the person who talks about danger for a living becomes the headline herself?" she wrote in an essay for People.

That blend of suspense and emotional storytelling has helped the novel stand out in a crowded thriller market. The publisher describes it as both a mystery and a love story, while early critical responses have praised its pacing, characters and genre-defying structure.

Its place among Goodreads most-read books this week shows that readers aren't merely adding This Story Might Save Your Life to their shelves; they're finishing it. For Crum, the ranking marks an impressive start to a literary career, turning her debut into one of the year's most talked-about mysteries.

Tori Spelling and Hayden Panettiere Both Pulled Out a Weekend Horror Event — Here's Why

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 9:41pm

Those terrifying Screammovies that remain ever popular have featured a wide variety of actors over the decades.

Neve Campbell has led the charge as the ultimate "scream queen" dating back 30 years with the first film. And then Scream 2 (1997) went super meta and had a movie within the movie called "Stab" that reenacted what happened in the original. As fans will recall, it featured Tori Spelling portraying Campbell's Sydney Prescott, which was quite the memorable cameo.

Another big name that graced the sequels is Hayden Panettiere. She and Spelling, 53, were both expected at a horror convention in Ontario, California this weekend called Creep I.E. Aftermath — but neither showed face.

"Hayden Panettiere has an emergency and will not be able to attend this weekend," Creep I.E. Con recently shared in an Instagram post. "We are looking forward to her appearing at an upcoming show."

Panettiere's rep also shared the following statement with People: "Hayden cancelled her appearance due to a private family matter concerning the health of an elderly relative."

Panettiere, 36 — who is also known for the popular video game Until Dawn — was scheduled to appear at the event alongside stars such as Christopher Lloyd, Mira Sorvino, Tara Reid, Billy Zane and Jamie Campbell, People also noted on Saturday, July 11.

With Spelling's cancellation, meanwhile, Creep I.E. Con shared the following statement on Instagram leading up to the weekend: "Tori Spelling has an emergency and can no longer attend. New replacement guest announced later today."

In other Scream news, it was recently announced that the original film's haunting musical score is getting a special reissue in honor of the 30-year milestone. Arriving August 28, the original 14-track album returns to vinyl in a collectible “blood-soaked” sleeve featuring an iconic image of Drew Barrymore as Casey Becker in the film’s unforgettable opening scene. Born in Warner Robins, Georgia, Denning moved to Nashville in 2014 and later signed with Mercury Nashville. Before launching his recording career, he earned songwriting credits for artists including Jason Aldean, Justin Moore and Chase Rice.

His breakthrough as a recording artist came with "David Ashley Parker from Powder Springs," followed by the success of "After a Few."

"After a Few" became Denning's first No. 1 song on the Country Airplay chart after spending 65 weeks climbing to the top spot. The single also set a record for the slowest rise to No. 1 on the chart at the time, according to Billboard.

The singer later released the EPs Beer's Better Cold, Dirt Road Down and Might As Well Be Me, continuing to blend traditional country themes with guitar-driven influences.

In 2024, Denning released his debut full-length album, Roads That Go Nowhere. The project featured 15 tracks, including collaborations with Hardy and Josh Ross.

The tour news arrives less than a year after several major personal milestones for the country artist.

Denning married Madison Montgomery in May 2023 after the pair became engaged in 2021. In July 2025, the couple welcomed their first child, daughter Charlotte Lane Denning.

’80s Rock Icon Forced Off Stage Mid-Tour by Health Scare as Son Fills In

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 9:24pm

Fans of the popular rock band The Cure who went to see them on tour in Berlin, Germany, might've noticed that they were one member short, as bassist Simon Gallup came down with an unexpected illness before the first of three shows in the city.

The band's frontman, Robert Smith, announced the unfortunate news on social media on July 11, after Gallup had already missed the first show. He wrote, "Shortly before the first of our three Berlin Wuhlheide concerts yesterday, Simon was taken ill." Smith noted that Gallup's son, Eden, stepped in to save the day and played the bass with the band.

Ahead of the second show, Smith shared an update as well, saying, "Unfortunately Simon is still not well enough to play, so Eden will be filling the bass breach again tonight - We hope you will join us in wishing Simon the speediest of recoveries - And Eden thanks!"

Thankfully, fans were very understanding of the situation and advised Gallup to prioritize his health. One wrote, "The most important thing in situations like this is health; we hope Simon makes a full recovery as soon as possible, but without rushing things." Many more shared love and support for the sick bassist.

Others commended Gallup's son Eden for his performance in his father's absence, with one such fan calling him an "absolute star."

"Get well soon Simon- the bass is in good hands," said another, while more fans chimed in, saying, "Eden was amazing last night- Simon should be so proud!" and "I love that kids are trained up and ready to step in when needed, something so wholesome about that."

On July 12, before their third and final show in Berlin, Smith posted on Instagram that "Simon [was] still recovering," so Eden stepped in for a third time.

The Cure's next set of concerts is in Athens, Greece, on July 14 and 15. As of writing, it's unclear if Gallup will be recovered and able to play with the band at the shows.

’90s Metal Band Makes Limited-Edition Announcement for 35th Anniversary

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 8:59pm

Autopsy will celebrate the 35th anniversary of its landmark 1991 album Mental Funeral with two newly remastered collector editions arriving on Aug. 14, 2026.

The announcement was made by Peaceville Records through Instagram, revealing a limited-edition vinyl pressing and a deluxe two-disc CD version to mark the milestone for one of death metal's most respected releases.

Both anniversary editions feature newly remastered audio handled by current Autopsy bassist Greg Wilkinson at Earhammer Studios.

The first format is a limited-edition vinyl with red and green ink spots, created for collectors and longtime fans of the California death metal pioneers.

The second is a remastered 2CD package that includes a bonus commentary disc featuring vocalist and drummer Chris Reifert, guitarist and vocalist Eric Cutler and guitarist Danny Coralles discussing the album track by track.

According to the announcement, the three musicians share memories about the writing and recording sessions behind the album as well as the inspirations that shaped the material.

The label described Mental Funeral as "one of the greatest death metal albums of all time" because of its "unhinged and uncompromising collection of odes to brutality & depravity, wrapped up in its highly distinctive raw, organic production."

Decibel Magazine previously praised the record, stating: "Mental Funeral is incredible. Rustic, rude and full of rancor, Autopsy's second splatter-platter jogs brains into submission."

Originally released in 1991, Mental Funeral was Autopsy's second studio album, following the band's 1989 debut, Severed Survival.

The album was recorded during late 1990 at Different Fur Studios with engineering work handled by Ron Rigler. Its cover artwork was created by artist Kev Walker, who had also designed the artwork for Severed Survival.

The remastered release keeps the original 12-song track list intact on the first disc:

  • “Twisted Mass Of Burnt Decay”
  • “In The Grip Of Winter”
  • “Fleshcrawl”
  • “Torn From The Womb”
  • “Slaughterday”
  • “Dead”
  • “Robbing The Grave”
  • “Hole In The Head”
  • “Destined To Fester”
  • “Bonesaw”
  • “Dark Crusade”
  • “Mental Funeral”

The second disc included in the CD edition contains commentary versions of all 12 songs, allowing listeners to hear stories behind the recording process directly from the musicians who created the album.

Among the two formats, the 2CD package offers the deepest archival experience for fans interested in the history behind the record and its creation.

Autopsy formed in California in 1987 and quickly became one of the defining names of early American death metal.

Chris Reifert had previously played with Death and appeared on the influential album Scream Bloody Gore before launching Autopsy with Eric Cutler.

The group released four albums through Peaceville Records before disbanding in 1995. Members later continued making music with Abscess.

Autopsy officially returned in 2010 after a lengthy hiatus and released the EP The Tomb Within before beginning a new chapter with the 2011 studio album Macabre Eternal.

The band's longtime core lineup of Chris Reifert, Eric Cutler and Danny Coralles remains active today, while Greg Wilkinson's remastering work connects the group's current era with one of its most celebrated early recordings.

This ‘Happy Days’ Star Was Found ‘Shaking’ in the Wardrobe Closet Before His First Live Studio Audience Performance

Sun, 07/12/2026 - 8:06pm

Ron Howard has been a well-known name in Hollywood for more than 50 years, but that doesn't mean everything has come easy for him. During a Happy Days reunion panel at Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, Tennessee on Saturday, July 11, Howard's costars Don Most and Anson Williams spoke about the early days of live audience tapings of the beloved show, sharing a recollection of Howard's nerves.

“Donnie, Henry [Winkler] and I, we had done theater and we were excited about this, because every Friday was like opening night, you know, a little nervous, live audience,” Williams — who played Potsie on the sitcom — told the audience, according to People. “Ron Howard, on the other hand, had never had never done a stage show.”

Williams went on to recall that there was a specific night in 1975 in which he couldn't find Howard, who portrayed Richie Cunningham, anywhere as the show was supposed to be starting.

"There’s a wardrobe room, and there’s Ron in the corner, shaking, back turned to me,” Williams recalled. “And I go, ‘Ron!’ And he just walks out. And kills that night! He found out he’s really good at the theater.” As for Happy Days, which ran for 11 seasons, Williams gushed, "That was the beginning of us becoming number one in the world."

Williams added: “The other thing that made it great, we rehearsed and could improve the show. It wasn’t like, ‘Here’s the page, just shoot the scene.’ We can improve it. And I think that’s another reason we stayed on a long time, because we were all able to collaborate.”

Henry Winkler — who played Fonzie — previously spoke out about Howard's nerves during a June podcast interview with Ted Danson.

“When you see him, you would never know," Winkler said of his costar. "He could do anything, this man.”
