Goodreads Users Rank This Book as the No. 1 Stephen King Novel
When it comes to horror novels, there is one author who stands out from all the rest. Stephen King has made a full career out of writing about ghosts, psychopaths, and everything in between. Of course, there are certain books that stand out as must-reads, but Goodreads users have voted on the best of his collection.
The results come from the Listopia section, where users get the chance to submit their votes. While this particular novel doesn’t have the highest number of star ratings as others, it is the one that users think everyone should read at least once.
Stephen King’s ‘The Stand’ Is the Top BookUsers have decided that The Stand is King’s best novel. It beats out the likes of It and The Shining, which sit just behind it on the list. It’s not surprising that it is a favorite of many, especially considering it’s spawned two TV series adaptations.
The Stand is one of those horrors that starts off as something deeply psychological. There’s a superflu that has escaped a military base and is now wiping out a good 99% of the population. From the few that manage to survive, they will have to figure out how to rebuild the world.
There are two sides to this survival, though. Mother Abigail brings together those who offer hope and love, while Randall Flagg pulls together those with a darker view on the world and a more selfish look at success. Which side will win out?
‘The Stand’ Gained Popularity During the PandemicThe novel is one of those that gained extra popularity during the pandemic. In fact, King shared snippets on social media at the time to help with the understanding of how viruses spread. One of those is the snippet in the doctor’s waiting room, where there are plenty of people coughing and sneezing.
He didn’t want to scare, but educate. His aim was to highlight how COVID-19 was spreading, but he did make a note that the superflu in his novel was much more serious than the pandemic.
So now, it claims the No. 1 spot out of all his novels by Goodreads users, and not by a small amount. It sits in second place, and that could start to take over as the movies and the series, Welcome to Derry, continue to gain popularity.
This Classic Stone Age Animated Sitcom Aired Its Finale 60 Years Ago Today
When the animated sitcomThe Flintstones hit television airwaves in 1960, the world's perception of prehistoric times and the idea of "modern" conveniences became entirely creative and clever—and also, wives with grumpy husbands everywhere finally felt seen. Today marks 60 years since the finale of the iconic Hanna-Barbera show aired, ending the hit show's original six-season, 166-episode run.
When did The Flintstones sitcom originally premiere? It was full-on "Yabba Dabba Doo!" times when The Flintstones aired for the first time on September 30, 1960, on ABC. Fred and Wilma Flintstone, their neighbors Barney and Betty Rubble, and their families invited us into their "modern" stone-age lives, cave homes, jobs at the rock quarry, and even first-time parenthood.
The one-of-a-kind show was the first animated series to hold a prime-time spot, too. For almost six years, viewers tuned in to watch the silly families and all their misadventures, particularly those of Fred and Barney, at work and at home.

What is the plot of final episode of The Flintstones? The Flintstones last show "The Story of Rocky's Raiders," Season 6, Episode 26, was a departure from other episodes. Not the usual everyday fun around the town of Bedrock, it was a flashback into history, specifically the Stone World War I, through Fred's Grandpa's experience. That said, the episode was still filled with all the usual funny Flintstones stuff.
In the finale episode, which originally aired on April 1, 1966, Fred's grandpa Rocky Flintstone is coming for a visit. While awaiting his arrival, the family finds Grandpa's old diary, which chronicles his military stint as the head of "Rocky's Raiders" in Stone World War I.
In flashback scenes, Fred and Barney lookalikes stand in as Grandpa Rocky and his assistant to give a historial lookback—but, of course, a plot full of spies and death-defying international intrigue unfolds.
Why was The Flintstones cancelled?According to the folks at Cinema Dust, The Flintstones was a very popular show when it was cancelled, but at the time, the better money was in syndication and reruns, especially 166 episode's worth, than in creating brand new episodes. The Flintstones went on to have an incredibly long run life in reruns.

The Shocking Murder Of Professional Cyclist Moriah Wilson Gets The Netflix Documentary Treatment
Four years ago, the murder of professional cyclist Moriah Wilson garnered a host of sensationalized headlines due to the presumed love triangle at its center. Now, the tragedy is heading to Netflix with a brand new documentary to dissect how the promising young athlete’s life was cut short.
In May 2022, Kaitlin Armstrong shot and killed Moriah Wilson due to the platonic relationship Wilson shared with Armstrong’s long-time boyfriend, Colin Strickland, himself also a pro cyclist.
Armstrong believed that the two were having an affair, and her increasing jealousy over their relationship led her to do the unthinkable. The former yoga instructor, who is currently serving a 90-year prison sentence, arrived at Wilson’s Austin, Texas, apartment and shot her three times.
Wilson’s murder, which was the subject of Lifetime’s 2024 TV movie Yoga Teacher Killer: The Kaitlin Armstrong Story, is the basis of the upcoming Netflix documentary The Truth and Tragedy of Moriah Wilson, streaming on the platform on April 3.
The documentary provides an intimate look at Wilson’s life and career before her shocking murder via interviews with her family members and friends, as well as sharing excerpts from her personal journal.
“Every so often, when making a documentary, you become inspired beyond words, and this experience was that for me,” the film’s director, Marina Zenovich, said in an interview with Netflix about the project.
“I’m so honored to be able to show the love, strength, and vulnerability that Moriah Wilson’s family and friends shared with us in telling this tragic story,” she added. “They took their unimaginable grief and turned it into something deeply moving and inspiring.”
Following an international manhunt for Armstrong, who fled to Costa Rica after being named the prime suspect, she was arrested and taken into custody in June 2022, a month after Wilson was murdered.
A little over a year later, Armstrong was convicted of first-degree murder in November 2023. She is currently serving out her sentence at the Dr. Lane Murray Unit, Texas State Prison for Women in Gatesville, Texas, per PEOPLE.
'70s Rocker, With Major Hit Song, Dead at 75
Christopher North, a founding member of the rock band Ambrosia, has died at the age of 75.
North, best known as the group's keyboardist, played a key role in shaping Ambrosia's distinctive sound during the 1970s and early 1980s. Blending elements of progressive rock, pop and soft rock, the band stood out for its polished musicianship and layered arrangements, many of which were anchored by North's work on keyboards.
Formed in the early 1970s, Ambrosia quickly rose to prominence with a string of hits that defined an era. Songs like "How Much I Feel," "You’re the Only Woman (You & I)" and "Biggest Part of Me" helped the band earn widespread recognition and chart success, solidifying their place in rock history. Originally released as a single in 1980, "Biggest Part of Me" reached No. 3 on both the Billboard Hot 100 and Adult Contemporary charts.
North was part of the band's original lineup and contributed to their early albums, which earned critical acclaim and multiple Grammy nominations. His musicianship helped give Ambrosia its signature sound, one that blended technical precision with radio-friendly appeal.
The band took to Facebook to share the news of North's passing. "Fans of Ambrosia, we honor the legendary life and career of our dearest family member Christopher North, the 'Hammond B3 King' whose sonic architecture defined a generation of progressive and soft rock. A founding member since 1970, he was a keyboard wizard who brought an unmatched intensity and emotional depth to every performance."
Though he eventually stepped away from the band, North's contributions remained an essential part of Ambrosia’s identity and continued success over the years.
"We will always remember 'Northwind' for his fiery, 'intense' stage presence—a legacy that began when he was first discovered playing in a dimly lit room, his organ topped with a bottle of wine," the band added. "Even as he faced health challenges in recent years, including a brave and successful battle with throat cancer, his spirit remained tied to the music and the fans he loved."
As news of his death spreads, it's a moment to reflect on the music he helped create, songs that continue to resonate decades later and remain staples of classic rock radio.
Christopher North's legacy lives on through that music, and through the role he played in shaping one of the most recognizable sounds of his era.

Resurfaced 'American Idol' Clip Shows Alan Ritchson Serenading Judge in Viral Throwback Moment
Before becoming the unstoppable Jack Reacher, Alan Ritchson was testing out his singing chops on American Idol. In the wake of his fight with a neighbor in Tennessee, caught on camera, the actor's 2004 audition is going viral.
In the hazy throwback that's over 20 years old, a young Richardson is seen entering the iconic audition room in front of three judges. At the time, the judges' panel was made up of Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, and Randy Jackson. It appears that Ritchson's good looks were immediately a show-stopper for Abdul.
The now 43-year-old actor went into the audition ready to singStevie Wonder’s “You Are the Sunshine of My Life," before Cowell had a few words to say after noticing Abdul's blushing reaction.
"Sorry, Alan, can I just say before you start, thank you for putting a little smile on Paula’s face," said Cowell in the resurfaced clip. "God bless you for that."
With his charming smile, the then 20-year-old happily admitted that he was single. Cowell and Jackson wanted to give Abdul a private show and left the room to allow Ritchson to serenade the "Straight Up" singer. The video even cuts to a backstage interview with Abdul, where she admits the future actor was "totally hot" and was left alone with Rithcson so he could "sing the whole audition to me."
"Now listen, I’m a professional, and it didn’t sway my decision … much," said Abdul.

DuringAmerican Idol, Ritchson admits the show edited his clips to make him look bad, but looks back on the experience fondly. He was eliminated during the Hollywood group round.
The American Idol clip of Ritchson's singing abilities may not come as a surprise to fans who have followed him for years. Previously, fans across social media shared an altogether positive response to the new snack on Instagram.
"Quickest purchase ever," one fan wrote in response to Knueppel's post.
"Unmatched flavor duo," another user added.
"This is too good," agreed a third.
Joseph Duggar's Case Just Got a Major Update — and It Involves His Wife Too
The legal case against Joseph Duggar has taken a major turn.
The former reality star, 31, has been extradited from Arkansas to Florida following his arrest on charges of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, and is currently in custody at the Bay County Jail as of Tuesday, March 31.
According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office, the alleged incident took place in 2020, when the victim—then 9 years old and on a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida—was allegedly asked by Duggar to sit on his lap, during which he allegedly molested her while under a blanket. Duggar reportedly apologized at the time, and no further incidents occurred.
The case came to light earlier this month when the victim's father, now aware of the allegations, confronted Duggar directly. According to authorities, he admitted to his actions both to the father and to detectives from the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas. He was subsequently charged with lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim under 12 years old and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. He is also facing four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment in the second degree.
Duggar’s wife, Kendra Duggar, 27, was separately arrested on March 20 on related charges before being released on a $1,470 bond. The couple share four young children together; Garrett, Addison, Brooklyn, and Justus.

The case inevitably draws attention back to the family's broader history. Joseph's brother Josh Duggar was arrested in 2021 on charges of receipt and possession of child pornography, ultimately sentenced to 151 months in prison, which he is still serving.
Family members have spoken out about Joseph's arrest, most recently his sisterJinger Vuolo Duggar and his mom and dad, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. “You can’t be prepared for news like this, even though we’ve experienced something very similar before with one of my other siblings who made unthinkable choices and decisions that have affected all of us,” Jinger said in a YouTube video a week ago, alongside her husband, Jeremy Vuolo.
In a statement to Us Weekly on Monday, a spokesperson for Jim Bob and Michelle said: “Jim Bob and Michelle are heartbroken over this entire situation. Right now, they are focused on loving their family and helping Kendra and her children during this difficult time. They are praying for the victim. They ask for privacy and appreciate the kind words and prayers offered by so many.”

Son of 1970s TV Icon, 92, Shares Stunning Birthday Photo, and Fans Can't Get Over How Great She Looks
Shirley Jones was an icon of the '70 thanks to her role as a musical mom in The Partridge Family, but the legend of stage and screen is still going strong on her 92nd birthday.
Jones, who turned 92 on Tuesday, had an incredible career in musical films like Oklahoma! and Carousel before The Partridge Family, and went on to earn an Oscar for her role as a sex worker in Elmer Gantry. But it was her role as Shirley Partridge, a widow with five children who creates a pop music band, that made her a household name.
In a touching post, Patrick Cassidy, Jones's son, honored his mother and shared a photo of the beauty, making it clear she's looking absolutely incredible at 92.
"Today, my mom turns 92. To the world, she is an icon—someone whose voice, grace, and talent have touched millions across generations. To so many, she represents Laurie from Oklahoma, Julie from Carousel, or just Mrs. Partridge. A kind of timeless artistry that never fades. But to me, she’s simply Mom," Cassidy captioned the photo, which shows him embracing his sweet mom as they sit outside.
"She is the heart of our family—the one who gave love unconditionally. And taught me how to carry myself with kindness and strength. Every memory with her is a gift, every daily reflection is a piece of who I am," he continued.
View this post on Instagram Fans Couldn't Believe How Amazing Jones LooksIn the comments, fans were blown away by how wonderfully Jones is aging.
"She is a marvel and a beauty inside and out!" one person shared.
"Still gorgeous! Happy Birthday to her!" another one chimed in.
"In every photo posted of her, I still see the Hollywood glamour of her day. Nails painted, lipstick on, beautiful smile. Happy Birthday to a true beauty!" someone else shared.
Jones Has No Regrets About The Partridge FamilyWhile The Partridge Family made Jones a household name, it also ended her film career. However, the living legend says she has no regrets.
"When my agents came to me and presented it to me, they said if you do a series and it becomes a hit show, you will be that character for the rest of your life and your film career will go into the toilet, which is what happened," she said in a 2009 interview with the Los Angeles Times. "But I have no regrets."

'Project Hail Mary’ Author Apologizes for His ‘Star Trek’ Remarks
In a world where it seems nobody can apologize for mistakes, Project Hail Mary author Andy Weir proves that it is possible. While he tried to be funny during an appearance on a podcast, his remarks about the Star Trek franchise on Paramount+ came across as rude.
He didn’t mean to be as harsh as he sounds in the sound bites. Of course, those are the parts that are doing the rounds, rather than the full episode. So, he’s decided to make it clear that what he did was wrong.
Andy Weir Apologizes for Remarks Made on ‘Critical Drinkers’The Project Hail Mary author appeared on the Critical Drinkers podcast, where he made some disparaging remarks about Paramount+ and the Star Trek universe. During the podcast, he shared how the Star Trek “shows are s**t,” as he discussed how he had pitched some content for the universe only to have it rejected.
When used as just a sound bite, it does come across as if he’s salty about being rejected. However, that wasn’t what he meant, and after the weekend blew up with his comments, he realized that he needed to apologize, per The Hollywood Reporter.
He was trying to be funny about the entire situation, with a blunt comment about how they didn’t like his pitches, so he didn’t really care about the universe. However, he made it clear that he liked Strange New Worlds and Lower Decks, even though he didn’t like Starfleet Academy, which was recently canceled after two seasons, and found Enterprise “kind of weird.”
Andy Weir Admits the Mistake He MadeAs he faced backlash, he made it clear that he is just a blunt person when he speaks. At the same time, he doesn’t always realize how much attention is on him when he has a movie in the theaters. The last time he had a movie out was The Martian, and then everyone seemed to forget about him except for his book fans until Project Hail Mary hit theaters.
Weir is currently working on another book, which is a standalone from all his other works — just like he’s used to. However, he has said that there are bits and pieces of a potential sequel to Project Hail Mary, but it isn’t going to happen any time soon.
Once the hype of the Ryan Gosling movie dies down, he knows that he won’t have to watch as much of what he says, because there won’t be as many people paying attention. Considering the box office success, that could take a while.
Duggar Family Member Calls for Kendra to Divorce Joseph Amid Child Molestation Charges
A Duggar family member just called for Kendra Duggar to divorce 19 Kids and Counting star Joseph Duggar amid his child molestation charges and arrest.
During an interview with Page Six published on Monday, March 30, Deanna Duggar, the sister of the TLC family's patriarch Jim Bob Duggar, spoke out about the allegations against her nephew.
"The way I feel about it is, I think Kendra should divorce him,” Deanna declared. “She needs a new life. The best thing to do would be to divorce him and go on with her life.”
She added, "I don't know what the charges are going to be for Kendra. I don’t know, we’re all waiting to see. While my heart goes out to her, I know there [have] been some wrong decisions. My prayers are for the victims. For Kendra, for Joseph, for the whole family, wake up and repent of their pride, their feeling of the world is against them, get things right in their family."
In reality, the odds of Kendra divorcing Joseph—with whom she shares four kids—is unlikely due to the family's fundamentalist Christian religion. His older brother Josh Duggar's wife, Anna Duggar, didn't divorce him after he was sentenced to 12 years in prison for child sexual abuse material (CSAM) charges.

On March 18, the Bay County Sheriff’s Office arrested Joseph, 31, and charged him of lewd and lascivious behavior—molestation of a victim less than 12 years old, and lewd and lascivious behavior conducted by a person 18 years or older. The alleged incidents involved a 9-year-old girl during a 2020 family vacation in Florida.
“The victim reported Duggar repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap. As the vacation continued, he also asked her to sit next to him on a couch and covered them with a blanket," a news release from the BCSO announced. “During this time, Duggar manipulated the victim’s underwear and grazed her genitals. Duggar would also continue to rub his hands on her thighs. The victim stated Duggar eventually apologized for his actions and the incidents stopped after the apology.”
On March 20, Kendra, 27, was arrested and charged with four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment, per a news release from the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas. Joseph faces the same charges.
“Kendra’s arrest has nothing to do with Joseph’s—although one precipitated another," a source with knowledge of the case told Us Weekly. "After his charge, they automatically do a home study if minors live there. They came to her house.”
The source continued, “Apparently, they had two rooms where the lock of the doorknob was on the outside instead of inside. They arrested her and took her kids for that, saying it’s evidence that she wrongly detains her kids.”

2001 Hit Ranked Among 'Best Movies of the Century'
David Lynch's Mulholland Drive has long had a grip on movie lovers, and Rolling Stone recently reinforced that legacy by placing it among the 100 best movies of the 21st century.
Released in 2001, the film began as a television pilot before evolving into the feature that many now consider one of Lynch’s crowning achievements. Rolling Stone described it as his "most audacious, haunting, pained, emotionally devastating" work, a dreamlike journey through Los Angeles centered on two women: Betty, an aspiring actress played by Naomi Watts, and an amnesiac woman played by Laura Harring, who takes the name Rita.
The story follows Betty after she arrives in Los Angeles full of ambition, only to become entangled with Rita after a mysterious car crash on Mulholland Drive leaves Rita without her memory. What starts as a noir-tinged mystery gradually slips into something stranger and more emotionally devastating, blurring the line between fantasy, desire and nightmare. That shifting, almost hypnotic structure is a major reason the film has endured for so long.
"The initial spark for the film was the name, Mulholland Drive; the signpost in the night, partially illuminated for a couple of moments by the headlights of a car. It was that simple," Lynch told i-D. "It's a road in Los Angeles that goes along the crest of the Santa Monica mountains. It's a beautiful road that gives onto vistas over the valley on one side, and Hollywood on the other. It's a mysterious road – really dark at night and, unlike so many other spots in LA, it has remained the same through the years. I find myself inexplicably drawn to it."
The movie also helped redefine Naomi Watts' career. Rolling Stone pointed to the shock audiences felt at seeing how dramatically she transforms over the course of the film, especially in the now-famous audition scene.
Though Mulholland Drive was not a blockbuster in the traditional sense, it earned strong critical acclaim and gave Lynch an Academy Award nomination for Best Director at the 74th Oscars. It went on to gross just over $20.1 million worldwide, including about $7.2 million domestically, impressive numbers for such a surreal and unconventional film.
"I think people know what Mulholland Dr. is to them, but they don't trust it," Lynch told Criterion. "They want to have someone else tell them. I love people analyzing it, but they don’t need me to help them out. That's the beautiful thing, to figure things out as a detective. Telling them robs them of the joy of thinking it through and feeling it through and coming to a conclusion."
More than two decades later, Mulholland Drive remains a film viewers return to, argue over and try to decode. That mystery is part of its power. For many fans, it isn't just one of the best films of 2001. It's one of the defining movies of the century.

Barbie Ferreira Details the Morning Ritual She’s Followed Since Childhood
Some people roll out of bed and reach for their phone. Others head straight for coffee. Barbie Ferreira? She runs a bath before her eyes are even fully open.
“I wake up, I go straight into the bathtub empty, and then I turn it on, and I let it fill up with me in there,” the 29-year-old Euphoria alum exclusively told Parade. “That’s how I wake up.”
It’s not a one-off habit, either. Ferreira said she’s been doing it since she was a kid, and lately, it’s part of a larger routine that helps her reset. Right now, that also includes starting her mornings with a sound bowl — something she turns to when she’s feeling stressed.
“It does the opposite for most people, where they get really sleepy,” she added. “For me, it helps me wake up.”
That mindset of slowing down and sticking with what feels good is exactly what drew the actress to her newest project. According to a press release issued Tuesday, March 31, Ferreira has teamed up with Los Angeles-based lifestyle brand For Your Soul on a limited-edition capsule collection built around everyday rituals and the small moments people return to.
For Your Soul
"We got to collaborate on what my favorite thing is, which is a matching tracksuit," she revealed. "I wear one every single day. I live in L.A., so it's part of the uniform. During the day, you wear a matching tracksuit. Perhaps at night, you change out of it."
Ferreira said she helped pick the colors, weighed in on the shoot, and even got to name some of the pieces. When asked which item she's already been living in, she didn't hesitate. "I love the red [tracksuit] because I love red," she said. "It looks really good on me." She also shouted out the pink hoodie as a close second.
"Barbie embodies authenticity and individuality in a way that feels deeply aligned with our brand," For Your Soul founder Maya Zafrani said in the press release. "We wanted the pieces to feel nostalgic, effortless, and personal, like something you reach for during the moments that make life meaningful."
View this post on InstagramThe launch comes amid a busy few weeks for Ferreira. Earlier this month, she sat front row at Paris Fashion Week in a sheer Jean Paul Gaultier cutout gown that went viral, then appeared at the 98th Academy Awards in a custom cerulean GapStudio piece by Zac Posen. And April is shaping up to be even bigger. Her horror filmFaces of Death, alongside Charli XCX and Dacre Montgomery, hits theaters April 10 and her indie rom-com Mile End Kicks, which she also executive produced, opens April 17.
View this post on InstagramEuphoria Season 3 also returns that same week on April 12. Ferreira won't be reprising her role as Kat Hernandez, but she's previously said she still has love for the show. "I'm curious to see where it goes, just like everyone else," she told Elle in December 2024. “I’m excited to see what the girls do.”
For now, though, she's keeping it simple. Morning sound bowl, an empty bathtub, and a red tracksuit that looks really good on her.
Karla Mosley Reveals Why Dani Is Still Emotionally Tied to Her Ex on 'Beyond the Gates'
Karla Mosley has been front and center as Dani Dupree on Beyond the Gates. As the series marks its one-year anniversary, the actress is reflecting on her character’s emotional journey, particularly her struggles with love and healing.
In a recent interview on The Gatekeepers Podcast, Mosley discussed Dani’s ability to move on and open herself up to love again.
When the show premiered, Dani was freshly divorced from her estranged husband Bill Hamilton (Timon Kyle Durrett), who was getting married to the woman he was having an affair with, Haley Lawson (Marquita Goings). As the series continued, Dani found comfort in the arms of Andre Richardson (Sean Freeman), whom she married in an impulsive alcohol induced Vegas wedding.
Mosley acknowledged the complexity of Dani’s choices, “It's that thing where you don't want to watch someone walk down a road that they’re on,” she said.
She admitted that some scenes have been difficult to film. “Sometimes I'll sit in hair and makeup and I'll be like ‘I don't want to do these scenes today’ because it's just so gross,” she said.
Mosley added that it can be frustrating to see Dani fall into old patterns. “I'm like oh man she's really back in her stuff, ya know? “she said. “It's hard to see someone do that when you're rooting for them move on,” she explained.
She believes Dani struggles with “receiving love,” which impacts her relationships.
Mosley said past trauma continues to shape Dani’s outlook. “I think she really has what she thinks she wanted with Bill, now with Andre and she's not able to let it all the way in.”
She added that Dani remains emotionally tied to Bill. “She keeps going back to this other person to see if she can find it in some way, find some kind of why,” Mosley explained.
Mosley also referenced advice she’s heard about relationships. “I have a friend who is a relationship therapists, and she always says, ‘Never have a closure conversation.’ Because, you’re never going to get what you want from it. After you leave someone, you just have to let it be. There are certain things that are not going to be healed and questions that you may never have answered, but you just have to let it go. I think Dani isn't capable of doing that.”
She joked that is why Dani’s sister Nicole is always encouraging her to seek therapy.
You can listen to Mosley’s full interview on The Gatekeepers Podcast here.
Beyond the Gates airs new episodes weekdays on CBS and weeknights on Paramount Plus. Viewers can watch episodes from the beginning on Paramount Plus or on Pluto TV’s dedicated 24/7 Beyond the Gates FAST channel.
Taylor Swift Steps Aside for a Legend in Her Most Unexpected Music Video Yet
Taylor Swift has never been shy about wearing her influences on her sleeve, but her latest music video takes that idea to a new level.
The 36-year-old surprised fans on Tuesday, March 31, by dropping the visual for her song "Elizabeth Taylor," and Swift actually took a backseat for the vid.
The video is built almost entirely from archival footage and public images of the Golden Age Hollywood icon, weaving together clips from some of Elizabeth Taylor’s most celebrated films—think Cleopatra, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, Giant, and more.
Fans were shocked and excited about the new drop, too.
“Awww I love this so much. What a beautiful tribute!!!! Perfectly done,” one fan commented on an Instagram post from a fan account sharing the news.
Another exclaimed, “Okay just drop this on us on a random Tuesday!!”
“Brb crying my eyes violet ,” a third shared.
The connection between the two runs deeper than the visuals. The song's lyrics zero in on the details that made Elizabeth a legend (her famous violet eyes, her diamonds, her taste for the finer things).

And the inspiration, it turns out, came from an unexpected place. In a TikTok video, Swift revealed that her parents sent her a clip of Elizabeth's son suggesting that if there were one person he might compare to his mother in the modern day, it would be Swift. "I was so flattered by that," she said. "I just immediately started talking to Travis [Kelce] about it... I had to get out of the car. I was like, 'One sec, I have to get out of the car for a second,' and I just sang this melody into my phone, got back in the car and… that's what it's like when it happens."
Swift had previously sought permission from Elizabeth’s estate before releasing the song, and the video's end credits include a thank you to the House of Taylor and the Elizabeth Taylor Trust. For now, the video is available exclusively on Apple Music and premium Spotify.
This Is Hands Down the Best Cheesesteak in Philly— And This Is the Best Way To Order It
As a Philadelphia native, I recognize that I am fully sticking my neck out here by "steaking" (get it?) my claim for the best cheesesteak in town. It is a fraught subject among Philadelphians. We all have a favorite place and a specific way to order it, and we will defend both until our dying breath. Admittedly, the regional sandwich has a lot of purveyors that each bring a little something different to it. Angelo's Pizzeria is credited with introducing Philadelphians to Cooper Sharp cheese on their sandwiches, while Dalessandro's is known for the addition of chunky sautéed onions.
Pat's King of Steaks, which started out as a hot dog stand, is widely credited as the inventor of the cheesesteak sandwich. Its most famed rival is Geno's, which surfaced in 1966 across the way from Pat's, and they sling thinly sliced steaks with lots of Whiz.
But honestly, my likely "controversial" take is that the best cheesesteak in Philly isn't loaded with onions or Whiz. And the most iconic place to get it? Jim's Steaks on the iconic South Street.

Wit or Wit-out?As a teenager, my favorite place in the entire world to go was South Street—so much so that any time the weather is over 65 degrees, my best friend and I still text each other that it is a "perfect" South Street day. When I was younger, it was full of eclectic shops, talented buskers, and some of the best food in the city. If we weren't grabbing a slice at Lorenzo's (truthfully one of my favorite pizzas in the city) and scarfing it down in our favorite cobblestone alleyway, we were standing in the line that wrapped around the corner for Jim's.
@katiecouricWhen in Philly…thanks for the deelish cheesesteak @Jim’s South Street ❤️🫡
♬ Walking Around - Instrumental Version - Eldar KedemJim's excellence is in its simplicity. While they do offer options like mushrooms, pizza steaks, and more, my favorite way to get it is chopped, wit (onions) and American cheese. The steak is perfectly tender and chopped, the onions are deliciously sautéed to the point of near (but not quite) caramelization, and the American cheese makes it taste like the sandwiches my mom would make on quick-dinner nights. While you can get it with Whiz or provolone, in my opinion, there is just no comparison to the mild taste of American that doesn't overpower the meat. One piece of advice: approach the cooks with your order ready to go, especially if it's busy. State your sandwich, your onion preference, and your cheese type—something like, "Can I get a cheesesteak, wit, and American cheese."

The thing about Jim's is it is also an experience. Because it is just down the street from one of my favorite venues, The Theatre of Living Arts (better known as the TLA), it is one of the best places to congregate after a show. Once, after seeing a concert there, we were waiting in a mile-long line for a steak, and when we got inside, a Boyz II Men classic came on and the entire shop—from the customers to the line cooks—belted out in song. It's just got a genuine vibe you can't deny. The place itself is covered in wall-to-wall celebrity patron photos, and the upstairs, though tiny, is a perfect people-watching perch to eat and observe the characters of South Street.
While I highly encourage travelers to hit up as many cheesesteak joints as they can while in the city, if you only have time or desire to snag one, Jim's is the best place to do it.
29 Years Ago Today, This Controversial but Popular Kids' Show Premiered
If your upbringing — or maybe your kids' upbringing — overlapped with the late '90s, the infamous Teletubbies might ring a bell.
The British pre-school TV series certainly stirred the pot when it came to kids' programming, since the adorable characters became hugely popular and were complemented by the show's high production value. But then there was the flipside...
Concerns had grown that younglings were becoming increasingly hooked on TV because of the Teletubbies, who arguably offered little to no educational value during each episode.
Nevertheless, the pop-culture sensation is still going strong decades later, with an active social media presence and all (see below). And it's hard to believe the franchise's very first episode aired exactly 29 years ago today (March 31) in the U.K.
View this post on InstagramThe show has been translated into 45 different languages and has won numerous awards, including two BAFTAs, The Mirror reports — and 42 Teletubbies toys were reportedly being sold every minute as of 2022.
That same year, a reboot launched on Netflix and was narrated by Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt scene-stealer Tituss Burgess. The beloved Emmy nominee, 47, is also known for hosting shows, including Dishmantled and Sing On! and has experience voicing characters, including roles on Central Park, Smurfs: The Lost Village and The Angry Birds Movie, among others.
But it was years earlier for Teletubbies when darker controversy arose in the U.S. In 1999, the Rev. Jerry Falwell accused the Tinky Winky character of being a gay role model because:
- he was purple
- he had an antenna that was shaped like a triangle
- he carried a purse
His claims made national news and generated big controversy, much it unfavorable to Falwell — whose now-defunct Moral Morality organization was politically active during the 1980s, according to reports.
Distributors of Teletubbies ultimately made it clear that the character was not gay, and the “purse” was actually a “magic bag.”
