‘Age of Attraction’: Andrew’s Unseen Big Reveal With Another Woman
The first season of Age of Attraction followed Andrew Wheeler and LibbyVodicka, showing interest in each other. However, they had many differences. Andrew, 39, has two daughters who are about to be teenagers. Libby, 22, made a lot of jokes to avoid being vulnerable in their conversations.
But there was a love triangle we didn't see. Netflix released deleted scenes on Tudum. Andrew's date with another woman had an important reveal.
Who Did Andrew Date on ‘Age of Attraction’? Ashley Wottring in 'Age of Attraction' Season 1.Turns out Andrew was interested in Ashley Wottring early in the season. They sat in the woods together in a deleted scene on Tudum. This was the first time they had talked since the mixer.

"Libby has been fun," he told Ashley, 38. "I feel like my connection with her is a little bit different than like, my connection with you." He said things were calming and chill with the business owner. Ashley said she has only been in love once and he asked why it didn't work out.
"I am a virgin that has been waiting for marriage," she told the father. "And I get that's different. I get that's probably weird. I understand it's not for everyone. I don't expect the person I'm with to have done that either."
She said her ex couldn't handle that. "And the hard part for me was that he called me selfish for doing it," Ashley revealed. She hopes to find a man who respects her decision.
Andrew thanked her for telling him. He called her "sweet" and "sincere." Andrew said he could be OK with being with a virgin. Ashley walked away feeling good about the situation.
They talked again on another day. Ashley said he had the best reaction so far to her decision and thanked him. She was ready to commit to doing the process with him. Andrew revealed he had a stronger connection with Libby, and she said that's OK.
Everything worked out in the end. Libby and Andrew said they are making their long-distance relationship work at the reunion close to a year after filming. If he had picked Ashley, the cameras wouldn't have followed them because their ages are close.

We Asked 3 Chefs the Best Thing To Make With Canned Beans, and They All Said the Same Thing
When it comes to pantry staples, there's nothing more versatile than a humble can of beans. They're loaded with fiber and protein, generally pretty cheap, and for the most part, only require a few additional ingredients to make them taste amazing. You can use them to supplement meals, flavor them millions of different ways and even enjoy them straight out of the can. Not to mention, canned beans can last in the pantry for years, making them the perfect item to keep on hand, you know, just in case Leave the World Behind turns out to be a documentary or something.
But although they're one of the most ubiquitous pantry staples out there, it's easy to find yourself in a bean rut, unsure of what to do with that can of garbanzo beans you picked up when you were trapped in a dense bean salad-induced fever dream all last year. Luckily, to give you a few fresh ideas and help you pick out the best can of beans possible, we asked three bean-loving chefs their opinion, and their No. 1 answer was unanimous. Here's everything you need to know about canned beans and how to make the pantry MVP taste extraordinary.

What To Look for When Buying Canned BeansPeopleImages / Shutterstock.com
Choosing the perfect can of beans isn't rocket science, but there are some things you'll want to check for to ensure you're getting the most bang for your buck. Here's what the chefs say you should look for when buying a can of beans at the grocery store:
The priceAccording to our panel of chefs, the first thing you should always check when you're buying a can of beans is the price. While you can certainly splurge on a more expensive can if you want, for the most part, a higher price point doesn't necessarily equate to a better bean. On average, a can of beans should cost you no more than $1.50, and always take advantage of deals to stock up.
An easy-to-read ingredients listYou also always want to review the ingredients list and ensure you're okay with what you see. For chef Pati, that means looking for a can of beans "that already have a soul." Her go-to brand is La Costeña, and the reason she loves it is that "they're already cooked with onion, tomato, jalapeño and spices. They taste like someone actually cooked them with care and intention."
Chef Richard prefers a simpler ingredient list with only beans, water and a small amount of salt. He also tries to avoid any unnecessary preservatives, added sugars or high sodium when possible.
And chef Jessica follows a similar rule, but points out that calcium chloride, as an extra ingredient, shouldn't be alarming. The usual reason for the addition is to help the beans maintain their texture and firmness. "There's nothing worse than opening a can of beans for a salad or soup only to discover they are practically mush," she says.
Check the canOur chefs also recommend checking the can for dents or dings, as even small nicks can create openings for bacteria to enter. It's also a good idea to double-check that the can mentions being made with a BPA-free liner. While most canned goods manufactured in the U.S. use alternative liners, some imported goods may still use the controversial epoxy lining.

The Best Thing To Make With Canned Beans, According to 3 ChefsFood is Love / Shutterstock.som
Once you've selected your bean of choice and have made your way home, instead of just stuffing your carefully chosen legumes into your pantry, now it's time to get cooking. And when it comes to what you can make with a simple can of beans, the options are truly endless. Whether you warm them up with spices on the stove to serve as a side with your weekly arroz con pollo or toss them into a salad with a variety of other vegetables, there's truly no wrong way to use them.
But when we asked our chefs what they liked to make with the humble canned bean, they all said the same thing.
Soups and Stews: All of our chefs noted that canned beans make a great addition to soups and stews because they're already cooked and soak up flavor easily. You could toss pinto beans into chili, make a cassoulet with white beans or use them straight from the can in a gorgeous Mediterranean-inspired salad.

3 More Genius, Chef-Approved Ways To Use Canned Beans1. A quick and easy sidePerhaps the simplest way to use canned beans is to warm them up with aromatics, as chef Pati and chef Richard do. Add a punch of flavor with onion, garlic, chiles and spices before adding the beans, allowing them to infuse with the flavors. Finish them with a squeeze of lime and fresh cilantro, and you've got a quick and easy side dish with minimal effort.
2. Protein supplement or replacementOur chefs also recommend using a can of beans to beef up dishes like tacos and tamales, or as a meat replacement altogether. You can turn canned beans into a veggie burger or mash them and use them as a lasagna filling.
3. Popular recipe additionsClearly, these chefs know their way around a can of beans, and now so do you! But if you're still looking for inspo on what to do with that lingering can of chickpeas or navy beans in the pantry, we've included a few more chef-approved recipes to try out below.

Stephen King’s Novel That Helped Him Recuperate After 1999 Car Crash Turns 25
When Stephen King was involved in a car accident in 1999, he turned to writing to help him recuperate. Developed within six months, Dreamcatcher has become one of the author’s least liked books, but it turned 25 this year.
What many people may not realize is that Dreamcatcher almost went by another name. It was King’s wife, Tabitha King, who encouraged him to change it.
‘Dreamcatcher’ Almost Went By the Name ‘Cancer’The novel, which is set in the popular fictional town of Derry in Maine, was originally titled Cancer. We can thank his wife for the change of name, and it’s not clear if it would have become such a major seller (and eventually a movie) if it went by the original name. Most importantly, it was originally written in longhand as a way to help King recuperate from his car crash.
The crash itself is part of the reason King now doesn’t like this piece of his work, which was his first full-length novel since Bag of Bones in 1998. He was on heavy painkillers at the time of writing due to the pain that he was in, and that contributed to the change of writing style. Many certainly questioned it at the time of the release, and with more information, it helps to understand the nuances to the work.
‘Dreamcatcher’ Is Set 25 Years After the Original EventsWhat’s funny is that the 25th anniversary is poignant for this particular story. It all starts with four boys in the haunted city of Derry. Then it cuts to 25 years later, when these four boys are men, living their own separate lives, who come together each hunting season.
When they come across a stranger in their camp who is disorientated and mumbling something about lights in the sky, they aren’t sure what to think about the situation. Sure enough, they’re all soon confronted by a creature from another world, and so starts the sci-fi horror involving an alien parasite that will kill to get what it wants.
Two years after the novel’s release, it was released as a movie adaptation. However, not only was it plagued by negative reviews, but it was also a box office bomb.
Mick Jagger’s Gorgeous Blonde Daughter Georgia May Rolls Around in a Field of Daffodils
Mick Jagger's daughter, Georgia May Jagger, is a true blonde beauty as she rolls around in a field of daffodils to promote her beauty line.
The daughter of the Rolling Stones icon, 34, who serves as the founder of May Botanicals, sports the same blonde hair as her Texan model mother, Jerry Hall. But one look at that smile, and it's safe to say that she inherited it from her father, who's still rocking out on stages across the globe at 82.
In a new series of photos, Georgia May sports a white knit dress as she lies in a beautiful field of daffodils with a cloudy sky behind her.

Nikki Glaser Encourages Her Boyfriend to Have Hookups: ‘It’s Just What I’m Into’
Comedian, actress, and TV host Nikki Glaser, 41, has never been one to mince words. She gets brutally honest making fun of herself in her standup act, as well as when she's completely roasting other people. So it's no real surprise she's talking openly about her personal sex life, specifically how she encourages her partner to hook up with other women because she "kinda likes it."
On a new episode of the Call Her Daddy podcast, the Golden Globes host discusses what she calls her "Hot Husband Fetish," which she defines as "when you want your partner to have sexual experiences with other people outside of the relationship."
Glaser and her partner, producer Chris Convy, 45, have been in an on-and-off relationship for over a decade. Glaser explains that when they first started dating, she asked Convy to detail past hookups, former girlfriends, how they got together, and how they figured out they liked one another.
"I loved that ... It would make me horny to think about him doing that with other girls," she continues. "It would really be like a foreplay for me. I would get revved up talking about it.”

When podcast host Alex Cooper asks Glaser if this means she identifies as polyamorous, Glaser clarifies, "I don't want another girlfriend. I don't want to be in bed with you guys, together," adding, "I just want to hear about it later."
Glaser says, for herself, she's not interested in hooking up outside her relationship. "I don’t really care about that. But I don’t care if someone else were to. In fact, I kinda like it.”
When Convy ran out of new stories about other women, Glaser says she urged him to “get some more stories.”
Trying to further articulate why this work for her, she says, “Maybe it's my competitive nature. I want a guy that other girls want.”
Glaser shares that the couple does have some guardrails around their arrangement. "Emotional cheating would hurt me,” she explains. She also says, "I just feel like I understand how sex is for men most of the time. Outside of a relationship, it's just transactional."
She didn't want to elaborate on any hookup specifics, but she does say, “There have been some interesting things that were really fun for me to hear about and experience—and fun for him too."
Glaser admits this kind of arrangement probably isn't right for everyone and she's just following what currently works for her in her relationship. “There's probably a sadness to it. But it’s just what I’m into, and I can't help it."

1994 Box Office Flop Became the ‘Greatest Movie of All Time’
The Shawshank Redemption is the highest-rated movie of all time on IMDb’s Top 250 list, holding steady with a 9.3 out of 10 rating. Fans love it, critics hail it, it’s climbing the streaming charts, so why in the world was it a box office flop 32 years ago?
View this post on InstagramDirected by Frank Darabont and adapted from the Stephen King novella, Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, originally published in King’s 1982 collection Different Seasons, the cathartic prison drama pivots around the friendship of a pair of convicts — one a wrongfully convicted banker, the other in prison for murdering his wife.
A timeless classic, the film offers a story of hope, friendship, and compassion that actually delivers. Not to mention, it has one of the best endings in the canon of cinematic dramas, with an emotional payoff that’s as rewarding as it is worthy.
Still, the film initially tanked at the box office, making an estimated $16 million against a $25 million budget. According to the BBC, the reasons for its TK included stiff competition from films like Forrest Gump and Pulp Fiction. The outlet also says the title was confusing for audiences, and the bleak all-male prison tale, toplined by Tim Robbins and Morgan Freeman, prevented it from finding a broad audience.
Following the 1995 Academy Awards, during which The Shawshank Redemption was nominated for seven Oscars, including Best Picture, Actor, and Writing, re-releases and newfound interest helped grow the film's profits to more than $73 million worldwide.
These days, the film continues to find renewed interest, peaking at No. 9 last August on Peacock’s most-watched movies last year when the title was first added to the platform, MovieWeb reported. That said, it continues to top best-of lists across the internet, from IMDb to Ranker.
The Shawshank Redemption is available to rent or buy at Prime Video.

Joseph and Kendra Duggar Reunite in Arkansas 1 Day After His Release From Jail
Joseph and Kendra Duggar have reunited.
According to People, who spoke with Joseph's lawyer Albert J. Sauline, the couple reunited on Apr. 1—one day after Joseph was released from custody in Florida after posting a $600,000 bond.
Joseph was arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor. He and Kendra were also hit with additional child endangerment charges in Arkansas—unrelated to Joseph’s initial case.
After his release, Joseph flew back home to Arkansas with his father Jim Bob Duggar. According to Sauline, Jim Bob arrived in Florida three days before his son's first court appearance.
The attorney also said it took more than three days for Joseph to arrive in Florida after being released from custody in Arkansas on Mar. 27. He was one of the first to be picked up by Florida officials during a cross-country trip to collect people being extradited to the state.

A few hours after being booked into custody by the Bay County Sheriff's Office in Florida, Joseph made his first appearance before a judge. A few hours after that, he was released after posting bond.
He and Kendra are now preparing for a court date related to the Arkansas charges on Apr. 29. The pair were both charged with four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment.
A source close to the family told People that the arrest was the result of locks being found on the exterior of doors during a home inspection, though this has not been confirmed by law enforcement.
Joseph and Kendra have not yet commented publicly on any of the charges. However, Kendra has hired her own lawyer to represent her in the Arkansas case, according to a jail phone call obtained by the outlet. Sauline is not representing Joseph in the Arkansas case.

Kohl’s Boho-Chic Nesting Tables Look Like an Artisanal Bazaar Find Without the Travel

Sometimes it's not the big, statement-making furniture that transforms a space—it's the smaller pieces with pretty, eye-catching details. Because if I'm being completely honest, I struggle with committing to a bold, patterned sofa or oversized piece of furniture. It's expensive, it takes up major visual real estate, and if your taste shifts even a little, you're kind of stuck with it. But a side table with intricate handiwork is where it feels safe (and fun) to take a design risk.
These are the pieces that add personality without overwhelming the room. A carved detail here or an interesting texture there is just enough to make people look twice. And if you decide to switch things up later, it isn't a whole ordeal.
Karni Wooden Nesting Tables - 2 Piece, $299.99 - $335.88 at Kohl's Karni Wooden Nesting Tables, Set of 2Kohl's
Shop It!Unique accent tables hit just the right note, especially when they bring in a global-inspired feel like these Karni Wooden Nesting Tables at Kohl's. Think warm tones, organic shapes, and craftsmanship that feels a little collected rather than mass-produced. A set of nesting tables with a subtle Balinese-inspired look? Even better. You get function, flexibility and that "where did you find that?" charm—all without overcommitting your entire living room to one bold idea.
These nesting tables come as a set of two, and you can either get them in a white colorway (shown above) or a natural colorway (a warmer stain). There's a pretty sizeable price difference between the two, with the natural hue costing $299.99 and the white colorway priced at $335.99. Both are gorgeous, in my humble opinion.

Nesting tables are such a smart solution for small spaces. Decorate the larger one with a plant or picture frames, then pull out the smaller table when you need to place a drink or a book while you relax on the couch or a comfy armchair. Stow it away when you don't need it.
Normally I'm all about Kohl's for super cute bedding, like a beachy quilt set that it just dropped. But after spotting these nesting tables, I realize I need to start taking the retailer more seriously when I'm seeking out furniture, too, like with this space-saving outdoor kitchen island that will look fantastic on my patio. You think you knew a store and then they surprise in the best way possible.

1967 Hit Ranked Among Best ‘Classic Rock Songs’ of All Time Became a Timeless Anthem
When The End was released by "The Doors" in 1967, it shattered expectations of what a rock song could be.
Last November, Collider published their listicle of what they think the "Top 25 Best Classic Rock Songs" were. Placed at 18th place, "The End" was originally written by Doors' lead singer Jim Morrison as a breakup ballad about his ex-girlfriend Mary Werbelow. After multiple performances of the song at West Hollywood's Whisky A Go Go, the track evolved into an 11-minute 41-second song that cemented its legacy as one of classic rock's most daring and timeless anthems.
"The End" was released on Jan 4. 1967, as the closing track of their self-titled debut album.

Comprising Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger and John Densmore, the group formed The Doors in 1965 in Los Angeles after graduating from film school at UCLA. Primarily due to Morrison's lyrics and his crazy stage persona, The Doors were among the most influential and controversial rock acts of the 1960s and 1970s, and were widely regarded as representative of the era's counterculture.
Their debut album, The Doors, helped the group become very successful, but unfortunately, Morrison died in 1971 due to heart failure while on a trip to Paris. The band continued as a trio, releasing two more albums before disbanding in 1973, but released An American Prayer five years later, which combined new music with Morrison's recitations of his poetry recorded before his death. The Doors have reunited multiple times over the past 50 years, with their most recent reunion happening in early 2026 to re-record "Riders on the Storm" for the Playing for Change "Songs Around The World" project, celebrating the band's 60th anniversary. As of April 2026, the only surviving Doors members are Krieger and Densmore.

In an interview with Vulture back in 2019, Krieger revealed to the magazine that Morrison was "on a huge dose of acid" while recording "The End."
"The whole deal was that when we recorded that song, Jim was on a huge dose of acid, and he had an Oedipus complex. He was really dealing with that at the time," Kreiger said. "Shortly before we recorded it, he came up with that [line] about [explicit] the mother and killing the father. That part got put into the song a couple weeks earlier when we were playing at the Whiskey. That’s just a really acidy song. Especially to me, because I know Jim was so messed up that night on acid."
In the same Q&A, the 80-year-old musician also shared his cherished memory of Morrison, which was writing songs with him.
"When we wrote songs, it was always an amazing experience. I’ve tried to write songs with so many people after his death, and it’s never as easy as it was with Jim. He had no ego about songwriting. He didn’t care about credit. It was just so cool to write," Krieger said. "We wrote 'The End' together, and at first it was just a little love song. When we started playing it live, it started to grow and grow. He was always making up the weirdest stuff and adding new little parts almost every night until it became the 12-minute song."
"The End" and the rest of The Doors' discography are available on streaming platforms.

Infamous 1973 Film Ranked No. 1 ‘Most Underrated Movie’ of the Century
Despite debuting over 50 years ago, the 1973 Nicolas Roeg-directed thriller, Don't Look Now, is still being praised for its unique, upsetting story.
In February 2026, Collider released a list of the 20 most underrated films that came out in the last century. The publication's ranking featured acclaimed movies like Nope from 2022, 1953's The Hitch-Hiker, Ace in the Hole from 1951, The Long Goodbye, released in 1973, and 1995's Strange Days. The list's top five films included The Innocents from 1961, Kiss Me Deadly, released in 1955, 2011's Take Shelter, and Bunny Lake Is Missing from 1965.
Don't Look Now, starring Julie Christie and Donald Sutherland as Laura Baxter and her husband, John, took home the list's number one spot. Collider reasoned that Don't Look Now deserved the title as the most underrated film since 1926 because of its stark portrayal of bereavement, twisting mystery, and raw imagery, never allowing the viewers to look away.
Donald Sutherland Discussed His Experience Working on 'Don't Look Now'Sutherland, who died in 2024 at the age of 88, discussed his experience working on Don't Look Now in a 2001 Scene by Scene interview. Sutherland described Roeg as "one of the great visionaries because of the way he edits, the way he lights, [and] the way he sees things." In addition, Sutherland said he was fully committed to playing John, a father grieving his young daughter.
"In that particular picture, we would have done anything. Nick and I thought that maybe I would die in the process of it. So much were we committed. I mean, we were so fatalistic about the way the production was going," said Sutherland during the interview.
In addition, he shared that he did his own stunts during a harrowing scene, wherein John is at risk of falling from a great height.
"The scene where I dangle from a rope in there, that's real. That's me," said Sutherland.
Sutherland also commented on the film's infamous erotic scene, involving Laura and John. He complimented Roeg, who died in 2018 at 90, for editing the scene so it wasn't "voyeuristic."
"The way that he did that was he never stayed on the lovers. You were there, then they were getting dressed. And it's intercut like that all the time and it saved it," said the actor.

Best-Selling Author's Novel Ranked No. 1 Most Addictive Book on Goodreads
Some books pull you in. Others refuse to let you go.
Susan Collins’ breakout hit novel, The Hunger Games, is the latter. A page-turner that doesn’t just wrangle your attention, it tightens its grip with every word, the survival tale was just ranked the No. 1 'Most Addicting Book' on Goodreads.
View this post on InstagramWorking with a high-stakes premise from page one, the novel follows Katniss Everdeen, a resourceful, conflicted, and deeply human 16-year-old protagonist, as she navigates the cruel dystopian world of Panem, which forces its districts to sacrifice one boy and one girl to fight to the death on live television. When Katniss volunteers as tribute in place of her younger sister, the Hunger Games begin and her battle to stay alive is on.
With nearly every chapter ending with a cliffhanger, readers stay locked in, turning every page to learn the fate of Collins’ characters. The author’s themes of media, power, and survival become uncomfortably real, hitting close to home, and the emotional investment gets turned up to an 11, as relationships, alliances, and betrayals are tested and endured.
Collins’ thriller, the first in a five-book series, was so popular it received the movie treatment in 2012, with Jennifer Lawrence starring as Katniss opposite Josh Hutcherson, who plays Peeta. Elizabeth Banks, Woody Harrelson, and Stanley Tucci also star as Capitol characters, elevating the story with their contributions. Sequels followed, with the most recent installment, The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes, releasing in 2023.
Despite the novel’s young-adult genre, it’s found acclaim with readers of all ages, and still manages to grow its audience. A gripping, addictive read knows no limits.

Nancy Guthrie Update: Why the New Note & Bitcoin Demand Could Be Real, Says Police Detective
Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing more than two months after her Tucson, Ariz., abduction—and an active police detectiverecently called out explained why a new note and bitcoin demand could be real.
On the April 7 episode of Brian Entin Investigates, NewsNation Senior National Correspondent Brian Entin spoke with Brian Martin, an active detective with the Fort Wayne Police Department in Indiana, who specializes in cold cases.
On April 6, TMZ received new notes from a person who allegedly saw Nancy alive in Sonora, Mexico, but claimed that the 84-year-old “is dead” now. The letter was reportedly from the same person who sent ransom notes to the outlet in February. This time, however, the person demanded 1 Bitcoin—half before the information was shared and half after a public arrest—in exchange for information about the location of Nancy’s body.
"The person, whoever sent the letters, they want some attention. They want those letters to be found, or they wouldn't have sent them to a news outlet," Martin speculated. "That's somebody who wants to be heard."
He continued, "I would hope if it is the person involved in Ms. Guthrie's disappearance, that they want to be heard and are legitimately trying to negotiate some type of deal, or whatever it is they're looking to do. And not maybe somebody who has ulterior motives for attention that has nothing to do with the case. You get somebody like that, and it's going to take this case down a completely wrong path, away from Ms. Guthrie, away from trying to solve this case and finding her, if she's still alive."
Related: Nancy Guthrie Update: New Details on Suspect Situation Revealed by Law Enforcement Insider
When Entin asked whether the Guthrie family should just pay the half a Bitcoin, Martin pointed out a potential risk, suggesting that the person could turn around and ask for even more money without providing the information.
"Is this person gonna actually give legitimate information, or are they just trying to soak the family for money? And you hope that somebody's not doing that," he shared. "And a big concern with asking for half a Bitcoin, it's my understanding there's a considerable reward for information leading to the recovery of Miss Guthrie. So therefore, why would you not just submit a tip to a legitimate crime stoppers, or to the sheriff's department, or to the FBI, or to the tip line that's set up, and get the $100,000. So that makes it very suspect to me."
However, Martin speculated that one reason the note-writer went to TMZ instead of tip lines and other legitimate sources.
"Oftentimes, those individuals, they want the power," he pointed out. "It is almost [like] they're reliving the event. It allows them to have the power and feel the power over the community, over the Guthrie family, and over pretty much everybody. It makes them feel like they're in the driver's seat of the case."
Plus, as Entin and Martin later speculated, Nancy might have accidentally died while the perpetrators had her. Contacting the FBI, or the sheriff's department, or a tip line at that point would be risky, as they would face felony murder charges.
Nancy was last seen at her Tucson home on the evening of Jan. 31. As of writing, no suspect has been named despite Savannah's $1 million reward offer.
Major Burger Franchisee With 65 Locations Files for Bankruptcy
A significant franchisee for a popular national fast food restaurant chain has filed for bankruptcy. A California-based franchise owner for 65 Carl's Jr. locations filed for bankruptcy on April 2, according to QSR.
Harshad Dharod, who is the founder of the company Friendly Franchisees Corporation, owns 65 Carl's Jr. restaurants in California.
Dharod owns several companies, and he is seeking "joint administration" of the group of companies. The group includes Third Star Investments, LLC, Sun Gir Incorporated, Harshad & Nasir, Incorporated, DFG Restaurants Incorporated, Senior Classic Leasing, LLC, and Second Star Holdings, LLC.
The About page on the Friendly Franchisees Corporation website shares that Dharod came to the U.S. from India as a teenager to pursue an education in medicine.
He began working in the kitchen at a Jack in the Box restaurant, and a few years later, he became a franchise owner. Five years after that, he had 19 different Jack in the Box locations.
Eventually, Dharod sold his Jack in the Box restaurants and purchased other brands. In 2006, an article on Dharod shared on the website Franchising.com noted that he first developed a portfolio of Papa John's pizza locations.
Dharod also pursued a significant deal to become a franchisee of dozens of Carl's Jr. locations. They have been located primarily in Northern and Southern California.
He said, "That was probably the biggest and the best move I made in my life—becoming a part of the Carl's Jr. system."
Now, over 20 years after starting his Carl's Jr. franchisee journey, Dharod has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, according to the website Restaurant Business.
The website received a statement from the franchisor stating they were aware of Dharod's filing. The company noted, "This situation is specific to this individual's financial and business circumstances."
Their statement continued, "This has no impact on the operations of any other Carl's Jr. locations and we remain committed to delivering quality experiences for our guests, while driving profitable, sustainable growth for our franchisees and the brand."
Restaurant Dive indicates that as of 2025, there were a total of 588 Carl's Jr. locations in California. The Carl's Jr. website indicates that nationwide, there are more than 1,100 locations across 14 states.
