Nowadays, it's practically a given to describe I Dream of Jeannie as one of the most influential TV shows ever made.

Seamlessly blending comedy, fantasy and romance together into one succinct series, I Dream of Jeannie remains one of the most beloved projects to air on NBC in the 1960s, paving the way for countless TV shows that followed in its wake.

Running for a total of five seasons before ceasing its run in 1970, I Dream of Jeannie proved to be a hit among '60s audience members.

Looking at it from today's perspective, however, series star Barbara Eden said she isn't so sure the show would succeed if it aired for modern viewers. As Eden herself pointedly said, "I’m not sure that [any network] would want to do it."

Speaking with Forbes, Eden discussed the one thing that likely would have prevented I Dream of Jeannie from being greenlit on NBC today. Rather than any semblance of racy or suggestive humor, though, Eden believed the main issue lay in the repeated use of the word "master" whenever Jeannie speaks with Major Tony Nelson.

While Eden herself didn't believe the word held a negative connotation whenever it was used in the show, she still felt the term would likely prove grating to today's audiences.

“You know, ‘master’ is just a word and it was in her vocabulary,” Eden said of the word's repeated appearance on I Dream of Jeannie. “She didn’t really say she was a slave. Never, you know?”

“It was actually a classic theme,” the legendary TV actress went on to say. “A thousand years and all the genies — and she was an entity. She wasn’t a human, but she thought she could be a human, and he knew she couldn’t — and there, you have the comedy, because she just wasn’t human.”

Queer Eye star Karamo Brown has finally opened up about his plastic surgery. In a new interview with People, he set the record straight about the cosmetic changes he has made and the severe health issues they caused.

The 45-year-old explained that he underwent a buccal fat removal procedure in 2021, which left him in chronic pain from scar tissue buildup that blocked his saliva from draining.

"For years, people have been like, 'Karamo's had plastic surgery. He has so much filler in his face,'" he explained. "I was like, 'You know what? I can't say anything because you can't get into fights with the trolls.' But I was suffering for years in pain and no one knew."

The culture expert told the outlet that he decided to undergo the procedure after gaining around 70 pounds during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I was a big boy, and everyone online liked to tell me how much of a big boy I was," he said. "So, I was like, 'Okay, maybe if I slim out my face, I'll be cute.' It turned into a year-and-a-half of pain."

The surgery forced saliva to accumulate in each cheek before the scar tissue hardened it. "There'd be times you'd see me smile, and it was tight," he says. "My cheeks would be big because they were full of saliva, full of scar tissue. I was in the worst pain."

The issue became more prominent when the reality star launched his own talk show, which ran for four seasons between 2022 and March this year. "I would shoot six episodes a day, and there'd be times when I was filming my show that my mouth would get so dry and it would be so swollen."

During series two of his talk show, Karamo lost 70 pounds and realized "the more weight I lost, the less scar tissue you could see," which encouraged the The Real World: Philadelphia star to stop eating.

The experience had a significant effect on Karamo, especially when it was noticed by a former Queer Eye castmate. "He was like, 'Oh, look how handsome he used to be.' I was like, 'Okay, girl, I caught your little dig, but whatever.' Those types of things affect you. They hurt your feelings." This statement comes amid rumors of tension between the cast of Queer Eye.

Karamo has kept quiet about this whole ordeal because he was "embarrassed" and admits he would do it now. Recently, Karamo underwent a procedure to fix his salivary glands and remove the scar tissue from his cheeks. He thanks his doctor and says he feels much better these days.

"I'm so thankful because I was in pain every night, every day. It was horrendous. Thanks to this doctor, I feel so much better. I'm smiling better, there's not saliva collecting, the scar tissue's gone. It's good."

Karamo told the outlet he never sued the doctor who preferred his buccal fat procedure, but he does want to be transparent and help others who are suffering from chronic pain. "I was fortunate enough to have the resources to find somebody who could help me, but I want to tell people that you don't have to suffer alone. I wish I would have told people what I was going through and not allowed myself to just stay quiet," he added.

Elvis Costello, the legendary singer and songwriter, shared a major update with fans.

After dropping the surprising news last year, fans are looking forward to seeing the “Alison” hitmaker perform live on stage once again during his U.K. and European tour.

As he gears up for the highly anticipated run, the award-winning star announced that he will be extending Radio Soul! The Songs of Elvis Costello From the Early Days to the Late Hours with a string of shows in September.

In a post on his social media, the 71-year-old musician revealed the additional six-date run, covering various cities including Lancaster, Ontario, Cleveland and Warren in Ohio, as well as Royal Oak and Muskegon in Michigan.

Tickets for the newly added run went on pre-sale starting June 3, while the general ticket sales begin June 5.

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee will be joined by Costello and the Imposters alongside guitarist Charlie Sexton.

In a press release, the forthcoming tour promises performances of his signature songs from his “record releases from My Aim Is True in 1977 to Blood & Chocolate in 1986, along with other surprises."

"You can expect the unexpected and the faithful in equal measure," Costello said. "Don't forget this show is 'Performed by Elvis Costello & the Imposters,' an ensemble which includes three people who first recorded this music and two more who bring something entirely new. They are nobody's tribute band.”

The tour will kick off with a two-night concert in Sweden starting June 5, followed by shows in Germany, England, Belgium and the Netherlands this month.

Happy birthday, Princess Lilibet! Meghan Markle andPrince Harry’s daughter just turned five, and it looks like the famous family is already celebrating. 

Markle took to Instagram early Thursday morning, posting a cute carousel of snapshots marking the now-five-year-old’s big day with the caption, “Our dream girl. Happy 5th birthday, Lili.”

The family photos include a precious pic of mom Meghan smiling as dad Harry holds little Lili. She also includes a second picture of the birthday girl standing barefoot in the garden, reaching for a flower. 

Unlike her sister-in-law, Kate Middleton, Markle gave birth to her daughter in the U.S. without all of the royal fanfare. Lilibet was born on June 4, 2021, at Santa Barbara Hospital in Santa Barbara, California. 

Even though Lili wasn't born in Great Britain, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex still managed to create a connection between their daughter and her roots in the monarchy. Her first name, Lilibet, is in honor of the five-year-old’s great-grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II. Lili’s middle name, Diana, is obviously a nod to Prince Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. 

Like other celeb parents, Prince Harry and Meghan have gone to great lengths to protect their family’s privacy. Neither of the birthday images shows Lilibet’s full face. In the first photo, Lilibet is turned away from the camera, and in the second, her striking red hair (like dad's)acts as camouflage. 

The couple doesn’t often share photos of their children (Lilibet’s older brother Archie just turned seven in May), making this a rare glimpse into their lives. Markle and Harry famously moved to the U.S., distancing themselves from the royal family and media scrutiny. They now live in a gated estate in the scenic Montecito region of California. 

Based on the limited family photos Markle shares on social media, it looks like she and Harry are able to give their kiddos a fairly normal life. In May, the lifestyle-brand entrepreneur posted a series of photos on Instagram from a day at Disney.

While the images don’t show either Lilibet’s or Archie’s faces, you can see both children as they walk through the park, visit with a princess (a Disney princess, that is), and hang with a few Stormtroopers. 

If you’re looking for the perfect book to read while relaxing on the beach this summer, you’re in luck because Vogue recently released a list of “The Best Beach Reads to Lose Yourself in This Summer.” The list includes the 1954 French novel by Françoise Sagan, Bonjour Tristesse.

The author was only 18 when she wrote the book, which became an international bestseller. It ended up being adapted into a 1958 English-language film of the same name, which was released by Columbia Pictures.

The novel, which is less than 200 pages and can be read in one sitting, tells the tale of a teenager summering in the south of France. Its Amazon description reads: “Endearing, self-absorbed, seventeen-year-old Cécile is the very essence of untroubled amorality. Freed from the stifling constraints of boarding school, she joins her father—a handsome, still-young widower with a wandering eye—for a carefree, two-month summer vacation in a beautiful villa outside of Paris with his latest mistress. Cécile cherishes the free-spirited moments she and her father share, while plotting her own sexual adventures with a ‘tall and almost beautiful’ law student.”

The book has a 4.6 star-rating on Amazon. One reviewer called it a “light and easy read.” Another said, “I read it on vacation, and it made the vacation so perfect and memorable. Such a vibrant, dramatic, funny summer read.”

Sagan went on to write more than 50 works throughout her career, including additional novels, plays, essays, and short story collections. Sagan died in 2004 at the age of 69. She wrote her own obituary, which said, “Appeared in 1954 with a slender novel Bonjour Tristesse, which created a scandal worldwide. Her death, after a life and a body of work that were equally pleasant and botched, was a scandal only for herself.”

The French President, Jacques Chirac, also commented on her passing. According to BBC News, he said, "With her death, France loses one of its most brilliant and sensitive writers – an eminent figure of our literary life."

Some other novels that made the list of “The Best Beach Reads to Lose Yourself in This Summer” were In the Woods by Tana French, Malibu Rising by Taylor Jenkins Reid, and Bad Summer People by Emma Rosenblum.

It’s rare for an album to keep rewriting its own history, but this 1977 rock blockbuster is doing exactly that nearly 50 years on.

Fleetwood Mac's Rumours continues to break records by hitting a stunning milestone on Billboard's Catalog Albums chart. The LP sat at No. 1 on a 2025 year-end ranking list that tracked a comprehensive catalog of popular music at least 18 months old. Currently, Rumours ranks at No. 5 on that same list.

But its chart placement only tells part of the story. What keeps Rumours in constant rotation is the way it continues to draw in new listeners while never really leaving longtime fans behind.

The LP still resonates. Nearly 50 years later, it hasn’t just stayed relevant; it's become a beloved collection of songs that remains as fresh and new today as it was when Rumours was first released in 1977.

Ken Caillat, the album's producer, admitted in an interview for the official Grammy website that Fleetwood Mac's personal chaos helped craft a cohesive collection of songs that defined its legacy.

As recording the LP commenced, married bandmates John McVie and Christine McVie split, and Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks ended their relationship. Mick Fleetwood’s marriage likewise came to an end around the same period.

"What I liked about Rumours is that [it was] a really sweet journey with a bunch of naive people just trying to hold it together. It's really the great American story," Caillat explained.

"We had no idea what we had. We were so tired," he added. "Most weeks, we worked seven days a week. You never know when you're going to do something great."

He concluded that the members of Fleetwood Mac "worked as this great team, and they almost thought as one. And I got to see it all."

McVie explained to Rolling Stone in 1977 that there was an overwhelming push to "carry on" despite the group's internal drama. "Everybody was pretty weirded out. Somehow, Mick was there, the figurehead: ‘We must carry on… let’s be mature about this, sort it out.’ Somehow we waded through it.”

Buckingham later told Rolling Stone in 1984, "When Rumours went crazy, I just couldn’t bring myself to feel strongly about the album. At some point, all the stuff surrounding it started to become the main focus."

Fleetwood Mac’s Rumours continues to pick up chart milestones nearly 50 years after its release, securing its status as one of the most enduring albums of all time.

Unlike your traditional upholstery cleaner, the Shark StainForce is nice and compact. It's a smaller version of an upholstery cleaner, boasting a cordless design and zero tubes. Instead, there is a small water tank built into the main device that can be easily emptied after use. What I Like About the Shark StainForce

I used this handheld spot cleaner to tackle a red wine stain on my living room rug, instead of having to do the hefty job of fitting it into my washing machine. There's a certain way to clean wet stains and dry stains, and this is well-explained on the side of the machine.

First of all, I switched the machine on and began to suction any leftover red wine away from my rug. Then, I went in with the spray bottle and liberally coated the stain with this magic liquid. I actually saw the red stain neutralize in front of my eyes, and the scent of red wine melted away, too. It's like magic in a bottle! I left it for a minute or so and then went in to scrub the stain, with the machine off so as to preserve battery life. After I was happy with my scrubbing job, I went in and switched the machine on to suction any dirt and water away from the stain. I was seriously impressed.

I also used this scrubber on a dried stain, which I can only assume is from a chocolate cookie that my toddler smuggled from the pantry. This was pretty dry, so I was a little apprehensive about whether it would work. Instead of going in first of all with suction, I went straight to the spray. It removed the stain instantly, after a little scrubbing, and I actually couldn't believe something so tiny could be so powerful.

I do love the fact that this device is small, much like a handheld vacuum. It's great for cleaning up car messes, too, and car seats from inevitable dirt and stains. I really like that it's not too heavy, so your arm doesn't feel weak after using it for its full battery life. After cleaning, there is a simple-to-follow self-cleaning cycle that you can do to ensure it's ready for next use. Otherwise, all parts do need cleaning and drying, as you'd expect.

Other than its power and the magic spray that comes included, the thing I love most about this device is how handy it is to store. My cleaning closet is tiny, and in here also lives my dryer, so I am forever battling for spare floor space. Micky Dolenz marked a major milestone in his history with The Monkees. The legendary actor and musician posted to Instagram to share a memory of filming the very first episode of The Monkees TV series in June 1966.

Dolenz, 81, shared a series of photos from the episode as well as the first page of the Screen Gems script penned by Dave Evans. He also showed the opening credits listing Robert Rafelson as the director of the episode that featured the Monkees as unlikely horsesitters.

“60 years ago this week, we began filming 'Don’t Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth,' which was the first episode we shot for The Monkees series,” Dolenz captioned the post on June 3. “I’d love to say I remember every detail clearly, but honestly, in those days we were moving so fast that if you blinked you might miss an episode, a song, a costume change, and possibly a horse.”

The “I’m a Believer” singer noted that screenwriter Evans also co-wrote the later episode "The Frodis Caper" with him, which Dolenz also directed.

“Davy, Mike, Peter, and I were suddenly thrown into this wonderful, mad adventure, guided by the vision of Bob Rafelson and Bert Schneider, who somehow looked at the four of us and thought, ‘Yes, this could work,’" Dolenz recalled. “I’m grateful to have been part of it, grateful to the fans who have kept it alive all these years, and grateful to my three brothers in Monkee mayhem."

Dolenz starred alongside Davy Jones, Mike Nesmith, and Peter Tork on the NBC musical sitcomThe Monkees from 1966 to 1968. While the TV series only aired for two seasons, it spawned a plethora of pop-rock music from the made-for-TV band. The Monkees had three No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 hits during the height of their television fame.

While “Don’t Look a Gift Horse in the Mouth” was the first episode filmed besides the unaired Monkees pilot, the episodes didn’t appear on TV chronologically. “Gift House” actually didn’t air until eight episodes in, per IMDb. The first episode to run when the series made its debut on Sept. 12, 1966, was titled “Royal Flush.”

According to the official Monkees Facebook page, the pilot was shot in November 1965, in part, at the Hotel del Coronado in San Diego.

Dolenz once told Best Classic Bands that after he auditioned for The Monkees he didn’t get overly excited about where it would go.

“I knew The Monkees was going to be a pilot, and I knew that pilots mostly do not get sold,” he said. “I saw the ad [for actors] in Variety. It wasn’t in the music papers. They were going for four kids who just jumped off the screen, four characters that were charismatic and different.  …The music was not at the top of the list of their priorities. It had to be there, and we had to be comfortable around music, but it was heavily weighted toward the improvisation.”

“But I didn’t get enormously invested in the whole thing,” he added. “I knew it was a pilot. It was late November 1965. I was still going to school [at Los Angeles Trade-Technical College] when we did the pilot. I was kind of encouraged to be kind of goofy and improvise and be unusual.”

“It obviously clicked and it had chemistry,” The Monkees legend said of the pilot. “The series got picked up. That is when I quit school.”

Spider-Man is swinging back into theaters—and now he's making his way into the hydration aisle, too.

Liquid I.V. has teamed up with Sony Pictures' upcoming film Spider-Man: Brand New Day for a new collaboration that includes limited-edition packaging, exclusive flavors and even a connection to the movie itself.

The partnership marks the hydration brand's largest entertainment collaboration to date and arrives ahead of the next chapter in Peter Parker's story.

To kick things off, Liquid I.V. has released two Spider-Man: Brand New Day-inspired hydration mixes featuring packaging inspired by the superhero's iconic red-and-blue suit.

The first, Arctic Raspberry, combines sweet raspberry flavor with frosting-like notes and features a bright blue color thanks to spirulina.

The second, Sugar-Free Raspberry Lemonade, blends tart lemon and raspberry flavors for a summery twist on the brand's popular hydration formula.

According to Liquid I.V., the collaboration won't stop at themed products. The company is teasing additional fan experiences and hints that viewers may even spot the brand somewhere in the upcoming film.

While details remain under wraps, the crossover is designed to connect Spider-Man's everyday-hero appeal with the idea of staying prepared for whatever life throws your way.

"At its core, Spider-Man is about rising to meet the moment," Aaron Jones, Liquid I.V.'s Chief Media Officer, said in a statement.

"Through this collaboration, we're showing how our science-backed hydration can help everyday people stay ready."

The limited-edition products are available now through Liquid I.V.'s website, Amazon and select retailers nationwide, including Target, Walmart, CVS, Walgreens, Kroger, Publix and Meijer.

With superhero movie excitement already building around Spider-Man: Brand New Day, the collaboration gives fans another way to celebrate the web-slinger's next adventure long before they step inside a theater.

The most innocent song to be banned from radio in 1957 was about two teenagers falling asleep at the movies.

That song was "Wake Up Little Susie" by The Everly Brothers, the duo who’d already reached No. 1 that same year with "Bye Bye Love." Written by husband-and-wife songwriting team Felice and Boudleaux Bryant, its premise was exactly as virtuous as it sounds. A young couple dozed off at the movies, woke at four in the morning and faced the consequences of missing curfew. As the lyrics remind us, "Our goose is cooked, our reputation is shot."

That is the full extent of the scandal.

The Bryants were among Nashville's most productive songwriting teams. Their work with the Everly Brothers had already produced 'Bye Bye Love' and would go on to deliver 'All I Have to Do Is Dream' — three consecutive No. 1 hits in less than a year.

The song took time to get to where they wanted it. Boudleaux started writing it alone late one night before waking his wife Felice to help smooth out the rough edges. Recording went about the same. The Everly Brothers spent an entire three-hour studio session on the track and still couldn't nail it. They returned the next day and, according to Bryant, "got it down, first take."

In 1957, radio stations didn't just  play whatever audiences wanted to hear. Broadcasters and religious institutions decided what they deemed was acceptable, and they were not shy about flexing that power.

Billie Holiday's "Strange Fruit" had been banned from many stations because of its racially charged imagery. Cole Porter's "Love for Sale" was also banned in many areas for its depiction of prostitution. In 1952, the Roman Catholic Church in Boston had even condemned Jimmy Boyd's "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus," banning it from radio on the grounds that it mixed kissing with Christmas Day and that raised fears of glorifying adultery.

It turned out, Boston had done this before.

The Ban That Backfired

Five years later, the Boston Catholic Diocese turned its attention to "Wake Up Little Susie" and banned local radio stations from playing it, declaring the lyrics ‘too suggestive’.

When Don Everly heard the news he was stunned because to him the situation was straightforward - two kids just fell asleep at the movies. But others found it too provocative.

While Boston radio stations refused to play the record on air, the Everly Brothers performed "Wake Up Little Susie" on The Ed Sullivan Show on October 6, 1957, in front of the entire country via television. Banned from being played in Boston. However, it was hugely popular on national television the exact same week.

According to the Chicago Tribune, "There's nothing sleazy or off-color in there," Everly said. "Phil and I sang pretty much innocent stuff. There's nothing to be ashamed of."

The ban may have kept the song off Boston radio stations but it couldn’t keep it off the charts.

Fans who couldn't hear the song on the radio just bought the single instead. "Wake Up Little Susie" entered the country charts on September 30, 1957, reached No. 1 on the Billboard country chart on October 14, 1957, and topped the pop charts the same week. It simultaneously topped the Billboard pop chart and the Cash Box Best Selling Records chart. Rolling Stone later named it among the Greatest Songs of All Time.

The song that couldn't be played became the song everyone couldn’t get enough of and bought to listen to.

Nearly three decades later, The Everly Brothers returned to Boston and finally performed "Wake Up Little Susie"at the iconic Boston Common.

"Today you say that innocent little song was banned in Boston," Everly said, "and somebody's going to ask you, 'Where were people's heads?'"

“We scare because we care.” Well, not anymore. Monstropolis is poised to be the beginning of an entirely new story. As it goes, Monsters have made a historic decision to finally allow humans inside for a glimpse of their hidden world— now powered by laughter. (And it’s the craziest thing to happen to the Monstropolis Horn since that infamous human child sighting.)

Disney shared a glimpse into the backstory with Parade: “For generations, Monstropolis ran on fear, and not just because the monsters used screams to power their society: monsters were scared of us, too! Humans were seen as dangerous, toxic, and completely off-limits. I mean, who could forget the decontamination protocols for a 2319?! When James P. Sullivan and Mike Wazowski (you know, with one eye) discovered that human laughter generates far more power than screams, it didn’t just transform the energy crisis, it transformed Monstropolis itself. Fear gave way to curiosity. Caution gave way to connection. And for the first time, the doors separating the monster world from ours no longer felt like barriers.”

This catapulted the shift in how monsters viewed humans. And so enters: the Department of Human Relations (and it’s unlike any HR department we’ve ever seen.) “This new team established by the city has been tasked with sinking their teeth—and in some cases, their very BIG teeth—into helping monsters better understand humans as welcomed guests,” Disney shared.

For the first time ever, humans are invited into the world of Monstropolis as part of an initiative known as H.U.M.A.N. short for “Humans Understand Monsters Are Nice.” Disney described it as “part celebration, part cultural exchange,” and within the storyline, the event is designed to introduce humans to life inside the monster-fueled world, brought together by laughter, not screams.

So, what will a visit to Monstroplis be like?

We already know Disney is planning a one-of-its-kind, suspended family roller coaster—a first for the company and modeled after the "Door Vault" in the first movie. The immersive land will also invite visitors for exploration, and opportunities to meet its citizens and taste unique cuisines. Guests can wander its streets, passing the many “storefronts” and “apartments” of all shapes and sizes to accommodate monsters big and small, with every corner reflecting the “quirky, character-filled world fans fell in love with.”

And fellow humans, I'm beyond ecstatic to reveal the exclusive Japanese sushi restaurant where Mike Wazowski famously took his girlfriend will be brought to life. That’s right—soon we will be able to not only visit but dine at Harryhausen’sin real life. Fingers are crossed for an appearance from its famed six-legged octopus chef. There will also be a stage show housed in the Glob Theater that will “help bring the city to life, adding even more personality, energy and can’t-miss moments around every corner.”

And whether you have two eyes or eight, keep them peeled for more details in the future on all things Monstropolis.

The Okanogan County Coroner has ruled the death of Alaskan Bush People star Matt Brown a suicide, according to official records.

Matt died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound, the coroner reported, noting that he was under the influence of methamphetamine at the time of his death, with subsequent immersion in water contributing to his death. Matt's body was discovered in a Washington river on Saturday, with his brother Noah Brown present at the scene.

“For the past couple days, I’ve been working with search and rescue groups trying to locate the body. And today, the group that I was working with located the missing body, and I identified it as Matthew,” Noah shared in an Instagram post. “My oldest brother, Matthew Brown, has passed away.”

Noah continued, “I was there when we pulled him out of the river. We hauled him up off the bank. And then, after the sheriffs got there and everything, the coroner did his thing, and I went down to identify that it was him. It’s definitely Matthew. His ID and Social Security card was on him, and I was able to visually identify that it was Matthew.”

Days earlier, his brother Bear Brown had expressed concern after learning that witnesses reportedly saw Matt take his own life. Once Matt was found, Bear reflected on how Matt had struggled with substance abuse.

"He has been struggling for a long time with alcohol and drugs," Bear shared on Instagram after previously asking people to stop sending money to Matt. "He has done a lot of stuff that people don't even know about, and everyone thinks that the family has shunned him and won't have anything to do with him, but that's not actually the case. He didn't want anything to do with the family."

The Brown family was hopeful Matt could remain sober, but the last time Bear had spoken to Matt, he had "fallen off the wagon" after enduring a bad breakup. Still, Bear said, "I would have never thought that Matt would take his own life."

In 1961, Roy Orbison released one of his biggest hits, “Running Scared,” which was an operatic rock ballad. The song, which sold over a million copies in the United States alone, was famous for not containing a conventional chorus. Still, the song was incredibly popular, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart 65 years ago today.

In a recorded interview, Orbison revealed details about the songwriting process. “It took only about ten minutes to write ‘Running Scared,’” he said. “The groundwork for the song had been done in preparation, but once you get on the road, it took virtually as long as it takes to sing and then a little touch-up here and there.”

Orbison also spoke about the meaning of the song. “In writing the song, I was trying to say, in so many cases and in so many relationships… I realized you never meet a girl, a good-looking woman, who doesn’t have a boyfriend already, and that bothered me,” he said. “And you never run across a friend who doesn’t already have friends. So then you wonder where you stand, always. So that was the statement I was trying to make.”

Even Bob Dylan, who Orbison eventually teamed up with to form The Traveling Wilburys, was a fan of this hit. In his Chronicles, Volume One memoir, Dylan spoke about hearing “Running Scared” on the radio and said, “[Orbison] was now singing his compositions in three or four octaves that made you want to drive your car over a cliff. He sang like a professional criminal. Typically, he'd start out in some low, barely audible range, stay there a while, and then astonishingly slip into histrionics. His voice could jar a corpse, always leave you muttering to yourself something like, 'Man, I don't believe it.' His songs had songs within songs.”

Orbison is also known for “Crying,” “Oh, Pretty Woman,” and “Only the Lonely.” Over the years, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame, the Songwriters Hall of Fame, and the Musicians Hall of Fame and Museum. He also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys.

Orbison died in 1988 after suffering a heart attack. He was 52.

There was a time when Keleigh Teller felt like one of Taylor Swift's most permanent fixtures. She was in the music videos, at the Super Bowl, front and at the center of an A-list friendship that fans followed. That era appears to be over.

According to a report by Page Six, Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry Teller, are not on the guest list for Swift and Travis Kelce's upcoming wedding, despite their longtime friendship with the couple. TMZ reported that Swift and Keleigh grew apart due to differences in their lifestyles, though no one has been willing to elaborate on what that means. A source described it to TMZ as a 'sad time' for their friendship.

The last time Swift was publicly seen with Miles and Keleigh was in February 2024, when the group celebrated the Kansas City Chiefs' Super Bowl LVIII victory. What sources describe seems to be more personal; two women who were once genuinely close, now on opposite sides of a distance that nobody seems eager to bridge before a July wedding. Page Six reported that many believe Swift and Kelce plan to walk down the aisle on July 3 in New York City. Mutual friends are reportedly 'hopeful' a reconciliation could still happen before then.

Queen Elizabeth II's grandson and King Charles' nephew Peter Phillips is set to tie the knot this weekend!

The occasion will be an 'intimate' affair, with Peter and nurse Harriet Sperling set to exchange vows at All Saints Church in the sleepy village of Kemble.

Kemble is described as possessing all the classic 'charm and character' of the Cotswolds region. The Cotswolds is 'very special' to the couple, as it is where they both grew up.

The reception will be hosted by Peter's mother Princess Anne at her official residence of Gatcombe Park, a 17-minute drive from the church.

So what royals will be out in force for the society wedding of the year?

First of all, if you're wondering whether Prince Harry will be there amid continuing tensions with the royal family: no. The Duke of Sussex and his wife Meghan Markle are understood not to be invited to his cousin's nuptials.

However Prince William and Kate Middleton are attending, with William and Peter said to be very close. They grew up together during royal family summers spent on the late queen's Balmoral estate in Scotland, and Christmases on the Sandringham estate.

Princess Anne will of course be there, as will her husband Sir Timothy Laurence, and Peter's father Mark Phillips.

So will Peter's little sister Zara Tindall and her husband Mike, as well as their three children Mia, Lena, and Luca. The family already lives on Princess Anne's 700-acre Gatcombe estate, in a seven-bedroom farmhouse on Aston Farm whose converted 'Party Barn' no doubt helps ease the isolation of rural living.

Savannah Phillips (15) and Isla Phillips (14), Peter's children from his marriage to Autumn Kelly, will be there, as will bride Harriet's 13-year-old daughter Georgina.

All three girls were recently pictured hanging out together when they attended Easter service at Windsor earlier this year.

King Charles and Queen Camilla are expected to attend, but they also have a pretty important social event taking place on the same day: the Epsom Derby, which the queen only missed twice during her reign of 70 years.

As the Epsom Derby is taking place 100 miles away, it's possible that Charles and Camilla will miss the wedding ceremony but will be able to congratulate the newlyweds at the reception.

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is another royal who is firmly off the guestlist, but his daughters Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice are invited. It remains to be seen whether they will actually attend. The princesses have been keeping a low profile since their father was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office in February.

Eugenie is currently pregnant with her third child, due to arrive this summer. The news was announced via the royal family's official Instagram account, indicating that Eugenie is still welcome within the royal fold despite Andrew's tarnished reputation.

So the next big question is, will the bride Harriet wear a tiara from the royal vault on her big day?

We'll have to wait and see. But if a tiara does make an appearance on the big day, it will most likely be from Princess Anne's personal collection.

For example the Festoon Diamond Tiara was a personal gift to Anne in 1973. She wore it for her engagement photoshoot with Mark Phillips. But it's unlikely that Harriet will borrow it as it was worn by Peter's first wife Autumn on their wedding day in 2008.

Perhaps the beautiful Meander Tiara will be loaned to Harriet, as it was to Anne's daughter Zara when she married Mike Tindall in 2011.

The Meander Tiara features diamonds in a Greek key style, reflecting Anne's Greek royal heritage. It belonged to Prince Philip's mother Princess Alice of Battenburg, and was a wedding present from Alice to her new daughter-in-law Princess Elizabeth when she married Philip in 1947.

The queen was never pictured wearing the tiara in public, instead choosing to gift it to her daughter when Anne turned 18 in 1968.

It’s no secret that I love cruising. I used to work onboard cruise ships as a performer, and since I transitioned to journalism, I still go on cruises as my vacation of choice. From my days onboard as a crew member to my now leisure travel moments, a lot of the cruises that I’ve gone on have included visits to private islands. I’ve been to Disney’s Castaway Cay, Norwegian’s Great Stirrup Cay and Carnival’s Half Moon Cay too many times to count. While I definitely enjoy my visits at all three islands, sometimes it can feel a little redundant, and there have been times where I’ll choose to stay onboard the ship I’m traveling on instead.

This week, I got to be one of the first guests to visit Carnival’s revamp of Half Moon Cay, which is called RelaxAway. They’ve built a giant pier that can hold even its largest ships, have five distinct beach areas to explore, a horse ranch, multiple eateries and bars, and local Bahamian shops to buy souvenirs in. I was incredibly impressed with everything that the newly designed island had to offer–but there was one thing in particular that stuck with me.

The Island Has An Elevated, Classy Vibe Not your average beach shack—the island's beautifully designed bars feel more like an upscale resort lounge than a cruise port.

We all know that Carnival has a reputation for being the “party” cruise line. There are tons of memes on the internet or video trends where people poke fun at the chaotic, lively energy that the Carnival clientele brings to the ships. Now, I’m not saying that’s a bad thing–but for me personally, I’m more of a laid back and relaxed kind of gal. The name RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay is entirely appropriate to describe what to expect when visiting this island.

Overall, the design of everything is simple yet elevated. Even the bathrooms, for example, have large mirrors with a stylish shape to them, and they are open to the outside, so when washing your hands, you can see the ocean behind you.

Even the restrooms are picture-perfect. These clever open-air mirrors catch the stunning blue reflection of the Atlantic behind you.

Each beach area has a different color theme for its umbrellas, and it immediately made me feel like it was in the French Riviera. They have thick stripes on them, with an adorable scalloped edge that gives them a more feminine vibe. The lounge chairs are a clean white color, adding to the classic look. The bars are also very tranquil and beautiful to look at, with elegant-style fonts, subdued colors and a mature feel. There isn’t party music blasting (at least at the beach section I chose to relax on) and the entire ambiance felt completely relaxed and enjoyable.

When comparing RelaxAway, Half Moon Cay to the other private cruise line islands I’ve visited, I ultimately feel like this one stood out when it came to the design and vibe. Disney and Norwegian’s islands are both wonderful in their own right, but they feel a bit more casual and “outdoor barbeque-y” (which again, there’s nothing wrong with that). Overall, however, I really enjoyed getting to experience this elevated and chic island, and would love to visit again.

Lauv, whose real name is Ari Leff, is known for his breakout hit “I Like Me Better.” This popular song from his 2018 album spent six months on the Billboard Hot 100. It was also used in the trailer for the film To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before, in an Android app commercial, and as background music during Miss Universe 2018.

Lauv, 31, has been on the It's Always Summer Somewhere Tour with Khalid. However, he recently announced that he is going to be leaving the tour midway through.

In a statement he released on June 3, he said, "I've been trying to be strong enough to get back out there and share this music with all of you — but I have to be honest with myself and with all of you: I'm deeply struggling right now, and I need to step away for a little while to take care of my mental health. I am so sorry to my fans, to Khalid, and to everyone affected by this. You all mean everything to me."

He continued, "My struggles with mental health have never been a secret — they're woven into pretty much every song I've ever made. If being open about this right now helps even one person look at their feelings and try to address what's going on, then hopefully something good will come from it."

Lauv has been open about his mental health struggles throughout his career and has donated proceeds from his songs to different mental health organizations. He also started the project, My Blue Thoughts, in 2016, which allows fans to anonymously share their thoughts and anxieties so they know they aren’t alone with their struggles.

The singer ended his recent Instagram post with, "I'll do everything I can to get healthy, get back into a creative place, and get back to doing what I love best. This. Music. The It's Always Summer Somewhere Tour started on May 16 and is scheduled until June 26. Lauv has already performed in 10 of the shows.
