Mayim Bialik is opening up about what she describes as a “nightmare” experience marked by severe and unexpected side effects.

In a candid essay, the Big Bang Theory star, 50, detailed a series of symptoms she says left her struggling with day-to-day activities, including intense gastrointestinal distress and fatigue. Bialik is one of the many people who suffered from unbearable side effects after just one dose of a GLP-1.

"I took one shot of the lowest dose of a synthetic GLP-1, and to say I had an adverse reaction would be somewhat of an understatement," Bialik wrote in an essay for The Free Press. "Explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea. Sulfur burps so violent they left me afraid to open my mouth in public. Sneezing attacks every time I tried to eat or drink—which apparently has a name, snatiation. Cramping. Bloating. Full-body aching, as though I had the flu. And an inability to keep down even small sips of water without sprinting to the bathroom with yet more explosive diarrhea. More than three times, I didn’t make it."

The actress said she was advised by several doctors to try a GLP-1 as a way to manage the side effects of Graves’ disease, which she's had for more than two decades. However, she was forced to discontinue the medication after experiencing these symptoms.

"What followed was closer to an allergic reaction—the kind I once had to an antibiotic for a sinus infection, which led me to soil myself without warning and cancel a camping trip to spend the weekend on the toilet. This was that, but for three days," Bialik continued.

The former Jeopardy! host said that some of the symptoms, though relatively common according to her doctor, stayed with her for "weeks." Her doctor explained that some of her other medications may have caused her to have a more "dramatic" reaction. Needless to say, it wasn't what Bialik was going for, even though she did end up losing a bit of weight.

Bialik, who is best known for her role as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory, is still keeping busy now seven years since the series ended. She was the star of Call Me Kat for three seasons—until the series was cancelled in 2023. She has done a few other projects, most recently starring in Father Mother Sister Brother, which was released in 2025.

A song released during the mid-1970s is helping Queen reach new chart milestones in 2026. 

The legendary British band's compilation album Greatest Hits currently sits at No. 37 on the Billboard 200, extending one of the most remarkable chart runs in music history. 

The renewed success arrives 51 years after the release of "Bohemian Rhapsody," the groundbreaking single that became Queen's first No. 1 hit in the United Kingdom and helped turn the group into global superstars.

Originally released on Oct. 31, 1975, "Bohemian Rhapsody" was unlike anything on the radio. Written by Freddie Mercury and featured on the band's fourth studio album, A Night at the Opera, the nearly six-minute song blended rock, opera, balladry and theatrical storytelling into a single recording.

The ambitious track topped the Official U.K. Singles Chart for nine consecutive weeks and later became Queen's first Top 10 hit in the United States, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Today, it remains one of the most recognizable songs ever recorded and continues to drive interest in Queen's extensive catalog.

Released in October 1981, Greatest Hits collected many of Queen's most successful songs, including "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," "Killer Queen," "Somebody to Love" and "Another One Bites the Dust."

The compilation has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, making it Queen's bestselling album. It is also recognized as the best-selling album in U.K. history, with more than seven million copies sold and more than 1,200 weeks spent on the U.K. Albums Chart.

In the United States, the album has become one of the longest-charting releases ever. As of June 2026, Greatest Hits has logged 701 weeks on the Billboard 200.

The album previously reached a new Billboard 200 peak of No. 8 in 2020, nearly four decades after its original release. That achievement marked one of the slowest climbs into the Top 10 in chart history.

Queen's continued success reflects the band's lasting appeal across generations. Formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor, with John Deacon joining in 1971, the group became one of the biggest rock acts in the world during the 1970s and 1980s.

The band's influence extends far beyond record sales. Queen has sold an estimated 250 million to 300 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2018, the group received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2025 they were honored with the Polar Music Prize.

Few songs have enjoyed the longevity of "Bohemian Rhapsody." The track was named the best British single of the previous 25 years by the British Phonographic Industry in 1977. It later entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004 and was added to the National Recording Registry in 2022.

Its popularity has repeatedly surged through film, television and digital platforms. Following Freddie Mercury's death in November 1991, the song returned to No. 1 in the United Kingdom and spent an additional five weeks atop the chart.

In 1992, its appearance in the comedy film Wayne's World sparked a major resurgence in the United States, helping the song climb to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Another wave of success arrived in 2018 with the release of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Starring Rami Malek as Mercury, the film grossed more than $900 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing music biopic in history. The movie's success introduced Queen's music to a new generation and helped "Bohemian Rhapsody" return to the Billboard Hot 100 for a third time.

The song has also set major streaming records. In 2018, it became the most-streamed song from the 20th century. Its official music video surpassed one billion views on YouTube in 2019, making it the oldest video to reach that milestone on the platform.

In 2021, the Recording Industry Association of America certified "Bohemian Rhapsody" Diamond for 10 million combined sales and streams in the United States, making it the only song from the 1970s to earn that distinction.

As Greatest Hits continues its latest Billboard run, Queen remains proof that truly timeless music can connect with audiences long after its original release.

While she's best known as a music icon, Harry has done her fair share of acting, with roles in David Cronenberg’s Videodrome and John Waters’ Hairspray. One of the most enduring bands of the classic rock era is spending even more time on the road in 2026.

Toto has announced an expansion of its long-running Dogz of Oz Tour, adding a new slate of U.S. dates as demand for the band's live shows continues to grow.

The newly announced concerts extend a tour that has already taken the group across multiple continents and helped introduce its catalog to a new generation of listeners.

Best known for classics including "Africa," "Rosanna" and "Hold the Line," Toto has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence during the streaming era. The band announced its first 13 shows of its nOrth American tour in November 2025 and has since continued expanding its routing through the end of August 2026.

What began as a nostalgia-driven tour has evolved into a broader celebration of the band's history, with recent setlists featuring not only major radio hits but also deeper album cuts and instrumental showcases highlighting the group’s legendary musicianship.

The band’s modern resurgence has been fueled in large part by the continued popularity of "Africa," which has found new life through streaming platforms, social media, television placements and cover versions. The song's enduring appeal has introduced Toto to listeners who weren’t alive when the track first became a hit.

"As a kid, I'd always been fascinated by Africa," Toto vocalist, David Paich, told The Guardian. "I loved movies about Dr. Livingstone and missionaries. I went to an all-boys Catholic school and a lot of the teachers had done missionary work in Africa. They told me how they would bless the villagers, their Bibles, their books, their crops and, when it rained, they'd bless the rain. That's where the hook line – 'I bless the rains down in Africa' – came from."

That cross-generational popularity has translated into strong ticket sales and increasingly ambitious live productions.

The current lineup continues to balance longtime members with veteran touring musicians capable of recreating the intricate arrangements that helped make Toto one of the most respected acts in rock history.

"I'm a musician. That's what I know how to do," said Toto guitarist, Steve Lukather in a 2024 interview. "I love to play. I'm having more fun now than I ever have – or I wouldn't do it any more. Why would I do it if it was a burden to me? I could do other stuff. I'm keeping our music alive, with great players."

More than four decades after its biggest commercial successes, Toto remains a major draw on the concert circuit.

With additional U.S. dates now on the calendar, the Dogz of Oz Tour is poised to continue bringing one of rock’s most celebrated catalogs to audiences throughout 2026.

Pets have increasingly become bigger parts of our lives in this modern era. Though many were initially bred to be working animals—horses as transportation, farm cats to reduce rodent issues, dogs who helped with hunting and/or herding and so on—today's furry four-legged buddies are often companions first, and perhaps even more than that. If you're the kind of person who thinks of your pet as your child, you may have several noticeable traits, according to four psychologists who spoke with Parade.

Per Psychology Today, a 2021 Honest Paws study of child-free millennial women found that 70% of those surveyed thought of their cat or dog as their child.

"Pets fill an important emotional role that shouldn’t be dismissed," Dr. Meghan Marcum, Chief Psychologist at AMFM Healthcare, tells Parade. She adds that "those bonds are valid, even if they don’t look the same for everyone."

Dr. Jennifer Dragonette, psychologist and clinical services instructor at Newport Healthcare, agrees, explaining that "strong human-animal bonds" can be very beneficial for people.

"[They] are associated with reduced stress, improved mood, increased emotional regulation and a greater sense of connection and companionship," she says.

Beyond that, a close relationship with your fur baby—to the point where you may feel like they're your actual baby—can indicate a variety of other things about your personality.

Is It Normal To See Your Pet as Your Child?

Dr. Laura Vogel, a psychologist and the Director of Mental Health Services at the Momentous Institute, says, "It's very normal" to see your pet as your child.

"Pets often activate caregiving systems similar to those used in parenting," she says, adding that protecting, feeding and soothing a pet "can naturally lead the brain to 'code' that relationship in a parent-like way." She says it's especially common for this framing to be used by people who have pets but don't have children.

But even for those with kids and pets, it's not about loving your pet as much as—or more—than your child—it's about the love, period.

"This type of attachment is not replacing human relationships. In most cases, it is expanding them," says Dr. Lauren Mahoney, a New York school psychologist who provides private practice services at Authentically Living Psychological Services. "People who view their pets as children are still very aware of context... When people say, 'He’s part of my family'... they are describing how the relationship is experienced psychologically."

Dr. Dragonette adds that most people "are aware that the relationship is different from parenting a child," but they can still experience a deep and meaningful bond with their pet. She says it's "less about confusing pets with human children and more about expressing attachment, responsibility and emotional closeness."

Dr. Vogel says those who think of their pets as children are more easily able to attribute "human-like thoughts, feelings and intentions to animals." She adds that the behavior inherently "strengthens emotional closeness" with animals.

2. Caring

Dr. Dragonette says that someone who thinks of their pet as a child probably "genuinely [enjoys] nurturing and caring for another living being." She adds that this caregiving attitude helps people gain "a sense of meaning, responsibility and emotional fulfillment" from their lives.

3. Empathetic

Because pets can only communicate through behavior and body language, Dr. Dragonette says that those who care for them are highly empathetic and are "especially sensitive to subtle emotional cues." She adds that they're usually "highly attuned to the emotional states and needs of others," including those of their pets.

4. Routine-oriented

"Caring for a pet creates structure," says Dr. Marcum. She adds that people often find comfort in the types of daily rhythms associated with pet parenting.

Dr. Mahoney agrees, sharing that many will structure their day around their pet.

"People will say, 'I can’t stay late, I have to get back to him,' or 'I plan everything around her
schedule,'" she explains. The psychologist adds that "even the routine itself becomes meaningful" because daily patterns like walks and feeding schedules "create stability."

5. Conflict-averse

The consistency of love from a pet "can be appealing to people who find human relationships stressful or unpredictable," says Dr. Vogel.

"Parenting a human child involves... long-term identity development, moral guidance and a recognition of the child as an independent future adult," she explains. "Love for a pet is often more consistently reciprocal, less complex and often less conflicted."

That is, of course, appealing to those who are conflict-averse.

Dr. Dragonette also adds: "Animals also provide a type of connection that feels emotionally safe and free from many of the social pressures present in human relationships."

6. Perceptive

"Individuals who view their pets as children tend to be highly attuned and deeply consistent in how they show up," says Dr. Mahoney, adding, "You will hear things like, 'Something’s off, I can tell,' or 'He’s not acting like himself today.'

Dr. Dragonette adds that a perceptive mindset can expand beyond their bond with their pet.

"In many cases, they are attentive not only to the needs of their pets, but also to shifts in mood and emotional tone in their broader relationships," she shares.

7. Loyal

Those who think of their pet as a child "often place a high value on attachment, loyalty and routines of connection," says Dr. Dragonette.

Dr. Marcum adds that these types of people "often prioritize connection" with the pet.

Is It Bad or Appropriate To Say You Think of Your Pet as Your Child?

While you may think of your pet as a child, it's not uncommon for parents of human children to take offense to that.

"Some parents may experience the comparison as minimizing the emotional, financial and physical demands involved in raising children," says Dr. Dragonette.

But she adds that a strong connection with a pet "does not invalidate or compete with the experience of parenthood" because the relationships simply "serve different roles, and both can hold significant emotional importance simultaneously."

She acknowledges that pet parenting and child rearing "involve different developmental, emotional and practical responsibilities." But she adds that biology alone doesn't determine attachment levels.

"People are capable of forming profound emotional bonds across many different types of relationships," she states.

Still, Dr. Marcum recommends "being mindful" of the context and trying to understand how the parents you're speaking with may receive the perceived comparison.

"Different people interpret that language differently," she adds. Even if it's not your intention, she says, "It may feel like a comparison that minimizes their experience."

At the end of the day, Dr. Vogel shares that she's "less concerned" with what someone calls their relationship with their pet than how it factors into their life.

"I’m looking at whether it enriches their daily lives, supports their emotional well-being and coexists with other healthy relationships," she notes. "If it does, then it’s generally a positive and adaptive bond."

A 1970 classic ballad just got another moment in the sun when one of the hottest young music stars married a BAFTA nominee.

Robin Tunney hasn't aged a day, 30 years after she skyrocketed to fame in the 1996 film The Craft.

Tunney, 53, became an icon in the role of Sarah, the new girl at a Los Angeles high school who becomes friends with a group of aspiring witches. The film, which also starred Fairuza Balk, Neve Campbell, Christine Taylor, Breckin Meyer, Skeet Ulrich, and Rachel True, became a '90s classic that's still replayed endlessly. Tunney also made her mark with a shaved head in the 1995 film Empire Records alongside Liv Tyler and Renee Zellweger.

In the 30 years since The Craft, Tunney has worked consistently, with roles on shows like Prison Break and The Mentalist. While she'll always be identified with the '90s classic, the star looked absolutely ageless while attending the MOCA Gala 2026 at The Geffen Contemporary at MOCA. In a new photo shared on her Instagram, the beauty, sporting a silver silk dress, made it clear she hasn't aged a day in the 30 years since her iconic film role.

Looking Back on The Craft

While attending the MOCA Gala, Tunney opened up about how much The Craft resonated with young people over the last 30 years.

“I love the fact that The Craft celebrated girls that were the weirdos, and I still feel like a weirdo, and this idea of, like, being outside of the box and feeling like high school isn't the place for you. It's about like female empowerment and friendship and it wasn't about boys, it was about these girls who felt different than," she told PEOPLE, adding that she's still "so proud to have been a part of it."

While the movie came out decades ago, people still remind Tunney how much it meant to them as they grew up feeling like outsiders.

"It's like survived generations and like the people that it speaks to... it's so funny, like, there'll be men that come up, and they're like, 'The Craft made being a queer boy in high school like tolerable,' and I was like, 'There wasn't a queer boy in it,'" she laughed. "And I love that because it was directed by a queer man, and somehow they felt it. And I feel like people can sense when filmmakers love them and see them in the storytelling."

The 5-Minute Pilates Workout To Wake up Your Core (Reformer)1. Cat-Cow

1. Begin by kneeling on the carriage facing the footbar.
2. Position your hands on the footbar (or platform).
3. Keep your spine neutral and your shoulders over your wrists.
4. Inhale as you slightly arch your spine and bring your shoulders back to assume the cow pose.
5. Exhale as you tuck your tailbone, pull your belly button in toward your spine and round your back toward the sky for cat pose.
6. Perform this exercise for 30 seconds.

2. Inchworm (kneeling crunch + arm saw combo)

This combo move is particularly beneficial because it fires up the deep stabilizing muscles in the core while keeping your body under controlled tension.

“By moving slowly and maintaining strong form throughout, it builds core strength, shoulder stability and full-body control right from the start,” Pilch explains.

1. Place your forearms on the platform and your knees on the carriage.
2. Take a deep breath out as you round your back for the kneeling crunch, lifting your hips and tucking your chin.
3. Hold for a moment at the top.
4. Inhale as you drop your hips back in line with your shoulders.
5. Rock your shoulders back for the arm saw.
6. Drag them back in as you exhale.
7. Perform this exercise for roughly 2 minutes.

3. Ab roller

For the ab roller, it’s important to resist rushing through the movement. Emphasize the lengthening sensation through the core on the way out and the contraction on the way back in.

“Quality of movement always wins over speed,” Pilch stresses.

1. Remain on your knees on the carriage.
2. Take hold of the platform and slowly extend your body back as far as your core is able to control, keeping your lower back from arching or collapsing.
3. Brace your deep core to pull yourself back to the start position.
4. Perform this exercise for roughly 2 minutes.

4. High Plank Hold

“Sometimes, staying still is the hardest part of the workout, so use your breath intentionally here, exhaling to draw the core in deeper with every breath cycle,” Pilch tells Parade.

1. Assume a high plank position with your shoulders stacked over your wrists, your hips level and your body straight from head to heels.
2. Actively press the ground away from you with your hands and squeeze your core, thighs and glutes.
3. Hold for roughly 30 to 60 seconds.

“This mirrors the inchworm's purpose of warming up the spine, opening the hips and signaling to the body that intentional movement is beginning,” Pilch says.

1. Start on all fours on the mat with your wrists under your shoulders and knees under your hips.
2. Inhale as you drop your belly and lift your gaze.
3. Exhale as you round your spine toward the sky.
4. Perform this exercise for roughly 30 seconds.
5. Smoothly flow into child’s pose, reaching your arms long and allowing your lower back to decompress.

2. High plank core series

This core series emphasizes control, core engagement and time under tension.

1. Assume a high plank with your hands on the mat under your shoulders and your body straight from head to heels.
2. Begin with slow shoulder taps, alternating tapping one hand to the opposite shoulder, keeping your hips stable.
3. Next, move into slow mountain climbers, bringing one knee at a time in toward your chest.
4. To wrap things up, lie flat on your back with your legs in tabletop.
5. Slowly tap one toe at a time to the mat, pulling your lower belly inward and bracing your deep core muscles.
6. Perform this series for roughly two to three minutes.

3. Forearm plank to pike

“This mimics the plank-to-pike action by using the low core to lift the hips rather than relying on momentum. It keeps the deep core and stabilizers continuously engaged,” Pilch explains.

1. Assume a forearm plank with your elbows under your shoulders.
2. Bring your heels together and turn your toes apart just a bit.
3. Without moving your toes or forearms from the mat, fire up your low core and lift your hips up toward the sky into a pike position.
4. Slowly lower back to a forearm plank using control.
5. Perform this exercise for one minute.

4. High plank hold

For this final move, breathe with purpose, cinching your core on the exhale.

1. Assume a high plank position with your shoulders stacked over your wrists, your hips level and your body straight from head to heels.
2. Actively press the ground away from you with your hands and squeeze your core, thighs and glutes.
3. Hold for roughly 30 to 60 seconds.

Why a Brief Pilates Session Can Be Highly Effective for Core Activation and Stability

A speedy Pilates session can truly work wonders for your core strength and stability. You’ve heard the age-old saying before: “A little goes a long way!”

“Even a few minutes of Pilates is enough to wake up your core muscles, which can reduce tight hips, lower back pain and improve your posture over time," Pilch tells Parade. "It’s all about time under tension, but that doesn't mean you have to spend a ton of time doing it."

Two prominent American journalists, Jim Acosta, 55, and PBS White House correspondent Liz Landers, 35, got married on Saturday, June 6, six months after their engagement.

The pair, who met while working at CNN, tied the knot at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia, a special location for Landers.

“My grandfather was a retired Army general, and he spent a lot of time at Army Navy Country Club in his later years,” she told The Washingtonian ahead of the nuptials. “I have so many memories of family meals and summer camp there as a kid. According to the outlet, the bride wore a simple Kyha gown with Christian Louboutin stilettos and a custom veil by hat designer Eric Javits, her godfather. The groom wore a Geoffrey Lewis tuxedo.

The couple described the theme of the evening as “classic but unfussy and fun," and photos shared to their Instagram Stories show them dancing in a gorgeous chandeliered ballroom as a roaming saxophonist serenaded guests. Colorful florals and blue and white linens decorated the dining tables, and bridesmaids wore chocolate brown.

The special evening included readings from both Landers’s and Acosta’s siblings, and was officiated by Landers' college pal John Lapin.

Per Instagram Stories, the guest list included former White House security official Olivia Troye, CNN political commentator Tara Setmayer, entertainment commentator Sydney Sadick Adams, and many more prominent names.

The pair first crossed paths while working in Washington political journalism, having both spent part of their careers at CNN covering the White House and national politics. Although the couple has kept their relationship largely private, they got engaged in Hawaii in late 2025.

Dave Navarro is an iconic musician from the rock band Jane’s Addiction. He also played guitar for the Red Hot Chili Peppers and released his own solo album, Trust No One. Henry Rollins, the singer from the hardcore band Black Flag, once dubbed him “one of the last great guitarists.” Today, he turns 59.

Navarro started out performing when he was only a teenager. As reported by Louder Sound, he said, “My first gig was at MacArthur Park, when I was in high school. There were about 15 people there. It was amazing, the highlight of my life. [Future Jane’s drummer] Stephen Perkins was playing the drums, and here we are over 30 years later, and Stephen and I spoke this morning. Amazing!”

Unfortunately, Jane’s Addiction is no longer together. In September 2024, their frontman, Perry Farrell, threw a punch at Navarro during one of their shows. The band released a statement shortly after that said, “Due to a continuing pattern of behavior and the mental health difficulties of our singer Perry Farrell, we have come to the conclusion that we have no choice but to discontinue the current US tour. Our concern for his personal health and safety as well as our own has left us no alternative.”

The group broke up shortly after. As reported by Variety, the band released a statement that said, “After that show, without notice to Perry, we unilaterally determined it would be best to not continue the tour and made inaccurate statements about Perry’s mental health which we regret. Today we are here to announce that we have come together one last time to resolve our differences, so that the legacy of Jane’s Addiction will remain the work the four of us created together. We now look forward to the future as we embark on our separate musical and creative endeavors. Jane’s Addiction will forever live in our hearts. We are proud of the music we created together.”

Throughout his career, Navarro received multiple Grammy Award nominations and won an MTV Video Music Award for the song "Been Caught Stealing." In addition to performing, Navarro also appeared as a host and judge on the tattoo competition series, Ink Master, for several seasons. He exited the show in 2022.

For a generation of kids who rushed home from school to watch Prince Adam raise his sword and transform into the most powerful man in the universe, the wait has been a long one. Masters of the Universe opened in theaters June 5, and the first wave of reviews suggests Travis Knight's live-action reimagining is something '80s fans were hoping for...a genuine crowd-pleaser that respects where it came from.

Nicholas Galitzine, who spent the better part of a year eating 4,000 calories a day and logging three-hour weight sessions to build the physique the role required, plays Prince Adam as a man trying to outrun a destiny he barely remembers. The story sends a young Adam to Earth after being separated from his home planet of Eternia, where he's been living a thoroughly ordinary life, until the Sword of Power calls him back. Waiting for him when he arrives is a shattered kingdom under the control of Skeletor, played with full camp commitment by Jared Leto.

Many critics who were skeptical of the premise walked out pleasantly surprised. Mashable's Kristy Puchko wrote that she confessed with "no small amount of shock" to really enjoying the film. Screen Rant's Molly Freeman noted that Galitzine's empathetic, earnest hero won her over even though she never understood He-Man's appeal as a kid. Plugged In called it a film with 'a lot of heart and a valuable lesson,' while Varietyoffered the more measured verdict that the film tries to serve too many masters and doesn't fully honor any of them.

The casting seems to be a big reason. Idris Elba brings gravitas to Man-At-Arms. Camila Mendes holds her own as Teela. And Alison Brie's Evil-Lyn (purple headdress, cosmic orb, the whole iconic look) provides the film with some of its sharpest comedic energy. The franchise's silliness, as director Knight told Empire, was never something the production tried to hide. 'There's an inherent silliness to it, which we are acknowledging and embracing," he said. "I think it's a virtue, actually.'

The detail generating the most joy among fans is a cameo from Dolph Lundgren, the He-Man from the 1987 film, who returns in a supporting role and passes the torch in a way the production handled with genuine affection. Lundgren had said of Galitzine before opening weekend that he 'looked great' and praised the younger actor's balance of strength and compassion. The moment plays, by most accounts, exactly the way it should.

For viewers who spent their childhoods with the cartoon, the film is a pleasant reminder that sometimes nostalgia holds up better than expected.

According to a comprehensive analysis by Yelp, our collective terminal preferences are shifting toward relaxation over rapid-fire quick service.

To map out exactly which terminal staples flyers genuinely love, Yelp analyzed millions of data points across airport locations nationwide, tracking user reviews, star ratings, pageviews, photo uploads and search volume. By weighting each of these metrics equally, the platform uncovered an unexpected frontrunner.

Topping the entire list at No. 1 is Vino Volo, the popular boutique wine lounge brand known for its upscale, relaxed atmosphere. The wine-bar chain managed to beat out some of the most dominant fast-food empires in the country to claim the crown.

Fast-food favorite Chick-fil-A secured the runner-up spot at No. 2, followed closely by burger destination Shake Shack at No. 3, and Potbelly Sandwich Shop rounding out the top four.

Ultimately, these numbers point to a fascinating evolution in how Americans approach a trip. Rather than treating time spent at the gate as dead time to be suffered through, flyers are intentionally arriving earlier, spending their travel budgets more deliberately and treating their time inside the terminal as the official start of the vacation.

A new animated show based on the iconic video game, Among Us, has been released on Paramount+. The announcement has come as a surprise to video game fans since there haven’t been many updates about the project since 2024.

All ten episodes of the series are currently available to stream on the platform. The show stars big names like Yvette Nicole Brown, Liv Hewson, Patton Oswalt, Elijah Wood, Kimiko Glenn, Ashley Johnson, Wayne Knight, Phil LaMarr, Randall Park, Dan Stevens, and Debra Wilson.

The show is based on the video game, which came out in 2018 but exploded in popularity during the pandemic since friends were able to play with each other from afar. According to Variety, the game reached “nearly 500 million monthly active users at its peak toward the end of 2020. The game generated more than 4 billion views on YouTube and was ranked No 1. on the App Store in 55 countries and on Google Play in 66 countries.”

Like the game, the show is about a spaceship staffed with human-like creatures in different colored spacesuits—but one of them is an imposter. It is essentially a murder mystery that will appeal to fans of The Thing from John Carpenter, since viewers are never sure who to trust.

Although the show is rated TV-PG, it isn’t aimed toward young children. According to Game Informer, “There's mild swearing, copious cartoon gore, and a pretty bleak tone in the later episodes as the body count begins to stack up.”

However, they gave the series high marks overall, saying, “While it's not necessarily groundbreaking storytelling, I enjoyed its various twists, animation style, and balance of respect for the source material and the medium of television. Most of all, it nails a distinct tone of drama, comedy, and light horror that defines the experience when playing the game. Among Us takes its source material seriously and succeeds because of it.”

The original game can be played on most major platforms, including mobile devices, the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation, Xbox, and PCs.

Brynne Weaver quickly became a household name for all the dark romance fans out there. Butcher & Blackbird flew off the shelves, as she brought a blend of dark romance and comedy in a way no other author had managed before.

The Ruinous Love trilogy is a firm favorite for many, and it wasn’t surprising that fans quickly bought Tourist Season, the first book in the Seasons of Carnage trilogy. The second novel, Harvest Season, is out on June 9, 2026, and everyone is eagerly anticipating it.

Parade sat down with Weaver to discuss adding the comedy into the dark romance, the development of Seasons of Carnage into a real trilogy, and so much more.

After all, Weaver is the author who has really brought the dark rom-com genre to life. I had to know why she chose to add the comedy into the dark romance genre, because it gives the novels a different feel than everything we’ve had before.

“I already self-published a vampire series that is a very dark rom-com,” Weaver explained her start in the genre, “I was just writing, having fun. I didn’t realize that I had already started down that road, and then I deviated more into the dark romance, proper dark romance with a couple of books, Marrow and Black Sheep.”

Eventually, she wanted to go back to the comedy routes, but she also wanted to create a more modern or contemporary setting, and “that’s how Butcher & Blackbird really kicked off.”

The benefit of already building the dark rom-com engine meant that she had the readership, and she credits that to the reason Butcher & Blackbird skyrocketed.

“It was a wild experience,” Weaver admitted when we chatted about what seemed to be an overnight success, “I had self-published it without a pre-order. I just wanted to see how it would go, and how that might affect the Amazon rankings.”

It turns out that Weaver is a data nerd, and she couldn’t help but compare results, and she admits that for the first two weeks, nothing outrageous happened. Then the book picked up, and much of that was due to TikTokers and Bookstagrammers reading the novel and sharing it with their followers.

“I never sent it to them,” she laughed with me as we talked about the beauty of social media for authors now. “They just picked it up and started reading it and shouting about it. It was virtually overnight, and I was getting all these inquiries from foreign publishers.”

It led to the whole Ruinous Love trilogy, which is a series of standalone books. That’s something many readers likely expected with Seasons of Carnage, only to get to the end of Tourist Season and have a huge cliffhanger to contend with.

“When I first talked to the publisher about the trilogy, I thought it was going to be interconnected standalones,” Weaver told me, as I asked about why she opted for a true trilogy.

“However, when I started writing the first book — and I’m a pantser — I knew that there was much ore to excavate out of their story. I texted my agent about two-thirds of the way through to tell her it wouldn’t be an interconnected standalone.”

From there, her agent had to get in touch with the publisher, who wanted a few more details since they expected the standalone books that have been so popular in recent years. It’s not just Weaver, but we’ve seen the success of Ana Huang and T.L. Swan with these interconnected stories.

In the end, everyone agreed that Nolan and Harper hated each other so much, especially Nolan’s hate for Harper, that they needed more than one book to fully explore that. Weaver doesn’t regret making that choice, as now it means exploring the consequences of actions. Nolan has found out the secret Harper has been holding for so long.

The Ruinous Love universe and the Seasons of Carnage universe are the same. As mentioned in the Acknowledgements for Tourist Season, it came up when Chris McKay, who is the director of the Butcher & Blackbird movie, asked about Autumn Bower. What happened to her after she escaped her ordeal?

“I felt like she had gotten away from Harvey Mead’s house and went back to her life,” Weaver initially admitted, but then she started to think about it even more. Much of the book came form her tinkering with that idea, and then it stuck.

She doesn’t plan on always writing within the same universe forever, but she does say, “Never say ‘never.’”

“I’ve already finished the third book. That’s in edits right now,” Weaver teased, as we chatted about ideas for the future, “I have a lot of ideas for things that I want to write, and I don’t want ot stick in the same universe indefinitely. But, you never know when an idea is going to pop up, and it’s too good to pass up.”

Part of the heartbreak of Tourist Season is seeing how Arthur’s dementia is progressing. That’s something that continues in Harvest Season, and it’s a topic that is important to Weaver. Not only did she grow up with her maternal grandparents, but she also relished the relationship between younger and older people, and she experienced their decline with dementia. She also worked in neurodegenerative research for about a decade, “primarily focused on Alzheimer’s disease research.”

“I was providing a caregiving role to [my grandparents], a bit more to my grandfather,” Weaver was heartfelt in her story, making it clear that there’s a personal connection to Harper and Arthur’s story, “So I saw what it meant to lose your personhood and try to hang onto that so desperately, and what i meant with the moments of joy and the heartbreaking moments.”

She wanted the opportunity to fully represent that realistically and to honor the experience, and that’s what she has offered with Arthur’s arc in the Seasons of Carnage trilogy. There is a warning to expect more of a decline in Harvest Season, as this is a degenerative disease, and it’s heartbreaking for everyone around.

The Alzheimer’s Disease trigger warning is the most serious one of the lot. Weaver still brings her comedic essence to the rest of them, and she shared that “there are always a few wild things in there.” Some of them could have gone either way, depending on the reaction of the readers, but the trigger warnings are suited to the style of the book.

Yes, there is another type of food that’s coming up, which Weaver chuckled with me about, “I never expected that was going to be a big thing. I thought, when I wrote Butcher & Blackbird, it would be the mummy, but for some reason, food has become the big thing, and it’s just continued on. I suddenly get these ideas, and I don’t know where they come from, like hamburger and fly eggs.

Since we had talked about the movie, I asked for any updates. Unfortunately, there’s nothing to share, except that it is still moving forward! She will hopefully have something to share soon, so make sure you’re following her on TikTok, Instagram, and everywhere else she is!

“Things are progressing so well,” Weaver was able to tell me, “I love the team. They’re so great to work with, so collaborative. It’s really like everyone is open to everyone else’s ideas.”
