Euphoria actress Alexa Demie is comfortable with her "level" of fame despite her co-stars going on to find global stardom.

In a profile in The Hollywood Reporter, Demie, who plays Maddy Perez on Euphoria, admits she is happy to live a more low-key life in comparison to co-stars Zendaya, Sydney Sweeney and Jacob Elordi.

"It's like, did you ever think that I don't want it?" she said of her status in Hollywood. "People really take the authority out of your hands. What happened to my ability to choose? I like my life like this, and I wouldn't change it."

Euphoria creator Sam Levinson told the outlet that, "I think there's a misconception about Alexa, and I've always rejected the framework of, 'Oh, Alexa should have what Sydney or someone else has, because that's a very high school mentality to bring to the craft."

The showrunner added, "I think Alexa is doing everything that she wants, and if she doesn't have something, it's because she doesn't want it. I see her as completely fulfilled."

Despite her clear distaste for global fame, Alexa remains thankful for her breakout role in Sam Levinson's drama. "If I didn't have that experience, I'd be hiding up there like Enya," she explained, gesturing to the Hollywood hills, and referring to the singer who lives a reclusive life in an Irish castle. "But that life is always there for me, and what I'm learning is that I can have both."

Aside from her role in the HBO drama, Alexa starred in Jonah Hill’s directorial debut, Mid90s, in 2018 and the coming-of-age drama Waves in 2019. She explains that her lack of roles and her struggle to break into the industry were because casting calls rarely looked for actors with Hispanic backgrounds.

“I was sick of going into those rooms, and this was during that time when you’re young and every few months you’re just like, ‘I’m quitting, I’m quitting,’” she explained. “But knowing me, I never would have quit. I’m more of the energy of like, ‘No, I’m going to show you I can do it.’”

A former detective is offering a grim interpretation of evidence from the early stages of the Nancy Guthrie investigation.

In a new interview with NewsNation's Brian Entin, Jon Buehler broke down what he believes crime scene findings may indicate, raising questions about what happened in the moments surrounding Guthrie's disappearance.

Buehler said that he doesn't believe that Guthrie is alive, based on a number of factors.

"The reason I’m fearful she didn’t survive the abduction is kind of twofold," he told Entin. "No. 1, no instantaneous demand for a reward with indication that she’s fine and that they’ll release her. That’s a pretty big stretch there to think that she survived it. But the amount of blood that was present there in the front of the house suggests to me a wound that was bleeding a lot, probably not arterial, but bleeding a lot. And with poor health and age on a pacemaker in fear, and him trying to get her to comply, that’s why I just don’t think she survived it."

Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Authorities believe that she was abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night. Despite receiving thousands of tips, investigators have not been able to identify a suspect or make an arrest in the case. Moreover, Guthrie still has not been located.

Anyone with information about Guthrie's whereabouts or the person or persons behind her disappearance are asked to call the FBI at 1-800-CALL-FBI.

Over 56 years after their disbandment, the Beatles are now synonymous with whimsical pop-rock songs. However, some of their timeless tunes were considered hot-button issues upon release.

For instance, American Songwriter reported that John Lennon's 1969 hit, "The Ballad of John and Yoko," co-written by his fellow Beatle Paul McCartney, received radio station bans. According to the publication, its lyrics evoking the image of Jesus Christ's crucifixion stirred up some controversy. American Songwriter also reported that Lennon knew that the single wouldn't be all that well received.

According to the publication, Lennon explained that he wrote the song about his 1969 marriage to his second wife, Yoko Ono, now 93.

“It was very romantic. It’s all in the song, ‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko,' if you want to know how it happened, it’s in there. Gibraltar was like a little sunny dream. I couldn’t find a white suit—I had sort of off-white corduroy trousers and a white jacket. Yoko had all white on. It’s a piece of journalism. It’s a folk song. That’s why I called it ‘The Ballad Of,'" said Lennon, who died in 1980 at the age of 40.

According to The Paul McCartney Project, McCartney shared some insight into his contribution to "The Ballad of John And Yoko" in his 1997 biography, Paul McCartney: Many Years from Now, written by Barry Miles.

While speaking to Miles for the book, McCartney recalled that Lennon "was in an impatient mood" when he showed him his incomplete version of the 1969 single. McCartney said he "was happy to help" finalize the tune, which he described as "quite a good song."

"John brought [the song] around to Cavendish Avenue for me to help finish the last verse that he was having a bit of trouble with. He knew he could always leave a couple of sentences out, come and see me and we knew we would always finish them. It was a guaranteed solution," said McCartney in the biography.

In addition, McCartney noted that while Ringo Starr and the late George Harrison weren't there to record, the song sounded like it was made by all of the band.

"It had always surprised me how with just the two of us on it, it ended up sounding like The Beatles," said the musician, now 83.

Sometimes, fans are unaware of the juicy backstory behind some of their favorite tracks that made a band's career. The rock band .38 Special released a 1983 rock song that was born out of tensions with its songwriter and his involvement in another iconic band called Survivor.

"Caught Up in You" was released by the Southern rock band in the early '80s for their studio album Special Forces. Before then, they had developed a following with their song "Hold On Loosely" that entered the charts. It wasn't until the 1982 track that the band had a breakthrough, landing at No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 1 on the Top Rock Tracks chart. 38 Special soon got massive radio airplay with the song and became one of the top tracks to release during the era.

Not many fans may know that the song has quite the backstory, having been written by group members Jeff Carlisi and Don Barned alongside Survivor's Jim Peterik. Peterik was actually behind .38 Special's first hit, "Hold on Loosely," which he originally wrote for Survivor but was rejected from being included in the band's album. It instead went to .38 Specials.

According to SongFacts, there was immense tension between Peterik and Journey due to his writing songs for the other band. The legendary rock group felt that Peterik's work for .38 Special was creating competition for them on the charts. Peterik often tried to ease the band's worry, but wouldn't listen.

"There was a lot of resentment that I was writing songs not only for Survivor, but I was writing them with .38 Special too. I'm talking about resentment from my own band, Survivor. What I tried to explain to them, which fell on deaf ears, was that the .38 songs would never have been right for Survivor. They came from another place in me and were very much a product of the synergy of Don Barnes, Jim Peterik, and Jeff Carlisi," he said.

Due to knowing Survivor's distaste for him working with the other band, Peterik said that he often had to write songs in secret. He recalls "sneaking around" when .38 Special came in to record their next album, with Survivor having no idea they were even in town. Fearing one of the Survivor band members would stop by, Peterik knew .38 Special couldn't come to his house.

"So we went to my mother's house and wrote in the basement. We were writing 'Caught Up In You' in this gloomy room in my mother's basement all dark and dank, and we're writing this hit song. I was feeling like the bad kid playing hooky or something," he said.

Survivor's Frankie Sullivan is also credited on the song after demanding credit. He felt the song's chord progression was similar to "Take it All," which the band was working on. Peterik revealed that there was no evidence of it being true, but managed to get .38 Special to agree to avoid a lawsuit.

When Morgan Wallen pulled the plug on a scheduled stop of his Still The Problem Tour, fans immediately began speculating about what really happened.

The country superstar was set to perform a second night in Pittsburgh on Saturday, June 6, but the show was canceled just hours before he was expected to take the stage. While Wallen initially cited severe weather concerns, online rumors quickly took on a life of their own (as they do), prompting the singer to address the situation directly.

In a video shared to his Instagram Stories later that same night, the 33-year-old explained that the decision came after conversations between his team and local officials.

According to Wallen, forecasts warned of potentially dangerous wind conditions that could pose a serious safety risk. “The truth of the matter is, I have a large stage that, in those conditions, could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So, I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment,” he explained.

The singer also pushed back on some of the online chatter that followed the cancellation. “I’ve been seeing a lot of nonsense about me that is simply not true, and I just wanted to clear the air,” Wallen shared. “I think my true fans know that that’s not how I operate in general, but I had to say it.”

His response came after some fans weren’t buying the initial weather excuse.

“morgan wallen cancelling his show last night is just hilarious because i walked outside after my shift at 11pm and my car was completely dry. no rain in sight. that man was already on his way back to tennessee,” one wrote on X.

A second claimed, “The Morgan Wallen Pittsburgh drama continues. According to flight plans and investigative reporters, he was already in the air long before discussions of a cancelation,” along with a screenshot of Wallen’s alleged flight path.

“Morgan Wallen had some reason to not do that concert that had zero to do with the weather,” a third said.

But of course, many are on his side. 

“People blaming Morgan Wallen for the decision to cancel are morons…this obviously comes from the city or other officials… not him,” one stated, while another agreed, “I have a hard time believing he has control of making that call.”

The cancellation followed another viral moment from Wallen's Pittsburgh stop. During Friday night's show, videos shared online appeared to show the singer grabbing a security guard's cell phone near the stage and tossing it into the crowd. One outlet claims, however, that the security guard might have been asked by a fan to record and was simply returning the phone.

And just days before during a performance in Denver, Wallen appeared frustrated by a technical issue involving his piano while performing "Sand In My Boots." After tipping the instrument over mid-song in an angry move, he finished the remainder of the track a cappella, earning cheers from the audience.

Just one week after overturning his piano due to a technical issue, Wallen is back in the spotlight after an unexpected interaction with security during his latest concert.

The country superstar sparked buzz after multiple videos began to surface, showing the "Whiskey Glasses" artist grabbing a security guard's phone and tossing it into the crowd while performing in Pittsburgh on Friday night. The moment quickly made the rounds on social media, with fans debating whether Wallen was frustrated by the device or the fact that a paid security guard was recording like a fan.

According to one report from Country Hub, however, the security guard may have been asked by a nearby fan to record a better view on the fan's phone.

Either way, video shows the "Thinkin' Bout Me" singer walking over mid-song and waving at the camera. Just five seconds later, he walks back to the same camera and snatches it from the female security guard's hands at Acrisure Stadium.

Fans with tickets to night two in Pittsburgh didn't get to record at all, as the country artist canceled the show due to poor weather. However, as many fans revealed online, "the sun [was] shining."

"That was the information I had in that moment, and I trusted my team," Wallen explained. "I understand that the wind and whatever else hasn't gotten to Pittsburgh yet. But the truth of the matter is, I have a large stage that in those conditions could become fatal to a lot of folks around it. So I did the best I could with the information I had in that moment."

Wallen's actions are the latest in a string of outbursts amid his "Still the Problem" tour.

Following his show in Denver, Colorado, on May 29, Wallen faced backlash for his reaction to faulty equipment. While performing "Sand In My Boots," the singer flipped his piano after experiencing technical difficulties.

He later sarcastically addressed the issue on TikTok, saying, "Can’t you tell I’m so distraught over my piano."

"Hey, I just want you guys to know that right now this piano is working," he said. "That's what they told me last night."

A familiar face from a beloved 1970s television series was spotted during a rare public outing in California. Eric Scott, who stepped back from Hollywood decades ago, was seen out and about in a low-key appearance, according to photos published by the Daily Mail. 

Wearing a pair of dark denim jeans and a white Los Angeles Dodgers World Series T-shirt, Scott flashed a smile for nearby paparazzi as he walked around Los Angeles.

After The Waltons ended in 1981, Scott got into sales, assuming that he'd continue acting at some point. When nothing came about, Scott realized he had to do something to make money, so he left his Hollywood career in the past and started working for a delivery company.

And while you might think that Scott made enough money on 212 episodes of The Waltons, he has said that's not the case.

"We were loved by the public, but we never felt the studio appreciated us," he told Closer Weekly in 2017. "We did not get rich from that show."

After The Waltons ended, Scott kept one foot in the door, so to speak, and went on to star in about a dozen more roles in the '80s and '90s. His very last project in the industry was in 2001.

In the 2000s, Scott took over at Chase Messengers, a parcel delivery service, in Encino, California. And while he may be in his 60s, he still has a hint of red hair and a Hollywood smile that Waltons fans would recognize anywhere.

Before a single episode of the new The Vampire Lestat season had aired on AMC, the show had already done something television almost never attempts. It made its fans feel like they were living inside the fiction.

On June 2, five days before the Season 3 premiere, AMC took over the Beacon Theatre in New York City for a one-night-only event billed as the final stop on Lestat's world tour. Fans who had scored complimentary tickets through an online lottery arrived to find the venue transformed into something between a prestige television premiere and a genuine rock concert. The cast sat in the audience alongside fans and press. After a screening of the new premiere episode, Sam Reid, fully in character as Lestat de Lioncourt, walked onstage and performed a 30-minute live set.

What followed has been described by everyone who was there in terms that go well beyond the usual superlatives of entertainment coverage. The TV Cave called it 'the best screening I have ever attended.' Bloody Disgusting wrote that Reid fed off the crowd's energy in a way that was 'a perfect distillation of the series' thoughtful relationship with its audience.' The Wrap reported that the theater's 2,894 seats were not enough; fans had traveled from Boston and Philadelphia just to be in the room, and hundreds more stood outside without tickets, unwilling to leave.

Reid had thought carefully about the strange meta-quality of the night. He told IndieWire beforehand, 'Lestat has a TV show, and then he also has a band. So if he's out in the real world, this is him promoting his TV show, but also, this is his band.' Series composer Daniel Hart (who wrote all the original music Lestat performs on screen this season) played onstage alongside Reid, making the night as much a genuine concert as a promotional event.

Review embargoes lifted the same day as the concert, and the numbers came in alongside the cheers: The Vampire Lestat debuted at 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, with critics praising Sam Reid's performance as the season's driving force. The Wrap's Kayleigh Donaldson called it 'a striking and nervy piece of work that goes there over and over again.' RogerEbert.com's Sherin Nicole wrote that it was 'both wicked and charming while remaining unrepentantly dangerous.' Screen Rant's Nick Bythrow called it one of the best seasons of television in 2026.

The series, based on Anne Rice's novel and originally titled Interview With the Vampire when it debuted on AMC in 2022, has now logged a 99% critical average across all three of its seasons, a consistency that almost no prestige cable drama has matched. Season 3 carries a new title, again drawn from Anne Rice's second Vampire Chronicles novel, highlighting a shift in the show. This is Lestat's story now, and judging by June 2 at the Beacon, he already owns it.

The Today show has long prided itself on feeling like a family. And according to Sheinelle Jones and Jenna Bush Hager, that sense of closeness has only deepened as Savannah Guthrienavigates one of the most difficult things someone could experience.

In a new interview with Page Six shared on Sunday, June 7, Jones opened up about how the show's hosts have rallied around Guthrie following the disappearance of her mother, Nancy Guthrie.

"We're going to rally around our sister," Jones said. "She rallied around me. We know how to do that here."

Bush Hager shared a similar message, saying, "[Savannah's] heart is broken and we love her."

The pair explained that supporting Savannah has remained their focus as she continues navigating life without her mother. "If our sister's heart is broken, ours is too," Bush Hager said.

The television personality also dismissed the idea that Savannah's experience had caused her to become more fearful about her own family. "No, because we're worried about one person only," Bush Hager said.

"When Sheinelle was going through what she was going through, we weren't thinking, 'What if this happened to us?' We were worried about our sister. [It was,] 'Who has the kids? Can we send food? How can we help?'" she continued, referencing the heartbreaking loss of Jones’ husband Uche Ojeh, who passed away in May 2025 after a battle with glioblastoma.

And for Jones, the support system among the Today team is something special, and something she’ll always cherish.. "When I sit down, I don't have to worry," she said. "I think the good lord does what He does."

Nancy mysteriously disappeared from her Arizona home on February 1, prompting Savannah to step away from portions of her Today responsibilities while focusing on her family. In the months since, friends, colleagues, and viewers have continued to rally around the longtime anchor as the search efforts continue. Savannah returned to Today back in April.

As of now, Nancy is still missing, and a $1 million reward is being offered for information leading to her discovery.

In 1985, four women sharing a house in Miami became one of television's most beloved groups of friends.

More than 40 years later, fans are getting a chance to revisit some of the sitcom's most memorable moments as MeTV launches its month-long "Golden Girls of Summer" programming event beginning Monday, June 8.

The special event will spotlight a different member of the household each week, featuring curated episodes centered on Dorothy, Rose, Blanche and Sophia. The themed programming will air during MeTV's regular Golden Girls lineup and will continue through June 30.

The celebration begins with Best of Dorothy Week from June 8 through June 12, featuring episodes that highlight the sharp-witted former teacher played by Bea Arthur. The following week shifts focus to Rose Nylund, portrayed by Betty White, before turning to Blanche Devereaux, played by Rue McClanahan, and finally Sophia Petrillo, portrayed by Estelle Getty.

According to MeTV, the event will feature specially selected episodes celebrating each character's most memorable storylines.

A Lasting Television Legacy

Over its seven-season run, The Golden Girls earned 68 Emmy nominations and won 11 awards. The sitcom became known for blending sharp comedy with storylines about aging, family relationships, grief, mental health and other subjects that network television rarely explored at the time.

Decades after its finale aired, the series remains one of television's most enduring comedies, continuing to attract new viewers while remaining a favorite comfort watch for longtime fans.

Steven Spielberg made a surprise appearance at a central London pub last night to test fans on his own filmography.

Friday night, the iconic director made a guest appearance at a bar trivia event hosted by film critic Ali Plumb in Soho. The director was accompanied by Euphoria actor Colman Domingo, who stars in his latest movie, Disclosure Day.

The co-owner of the pub The Devonshire, Oisín Rogers, told the BBC that Spielberg said he had a "lovely time" and "really enjoyed" his Guinness. Clips from the event show the Saving Private Ryan director in good spirits, laughing down the microphone as he discussed his new science fiction film.

“I hosted a Steven Spielberg pub quiz, and Steven Spielberg turned up. Yep, I know, I truly, fully know,” Ali Plumb, who works as the film critic for BBC Radio 1, wrote on his social media.

Spielberg has recently been in London promoting his new movie, which also co-stars Colin Firth, Emily Blunt and Josh O'Connor. The film follows a meteorologist and a cybersecurity expert who uncover a long-running extraterrestrial cover-up, which causes them to be pursued by governments and powerful corporations.

Disclosure Day is Spielberg’s first feature film in four years, his Oscar-winning semi-autobiographical movie The Fabelmans. Fans are especially excited as it marks a return to sci-fi for the director who became a household name for directing E.T and Close Encounters of the Third Kind.

During the promotional run for the film, Spielberg admitted that making so many films about aliens had changed his perspective on life beyond humanity. “I’ve been a believer since I made ‘Close Encounters’ 50 years ago,” Spielberg said. “But I would always say: Until I’ve seen a UAP or a UFO with my own eyes, I’m not going to categorically state that life from out there has come here.”

“But I’ve changed that,” he added. “I’m now willing to change my mind because of the circumstantial evidence which is overwhelming,” he told Associated Press.

The film has been earning early rave reviews, with critics dubbing it Spielberg’s “best film in 20 years”. Disclosure Day is in theaters across the United States on June 12, 2026.

Mayim Bialik is opening up about what she describes as a “nightmare” experience marked by severe and unexpected side effects.

In a candid essay, the Big Bang Theory star, 50, detailed a series of symptoms she says left her struggling with day-to-day activities, including intense gastrointestinal distress and fatigue. Bialik is one of the many people who suffered from unbearable side effects after just one dose of a GLP-1.

"I took one shot of the lowest dose of a synthetic GLP-1, and to say I had an adverse reaction would be somewhat of an understatement," Bialik wrote in an essay for The Free Press. "Explosive, uncontrollable diarrhea. Sulfur burps so violent they left me afraid to open my mouth in public. Sneezing attacks every time I tried to eat or drink—which apparently has a name, snatiation. Cramping. Bloating. Full-body aching, as though I had the flu. And an inability to keep down even small sips of water without sprinting to the bathroom with yet more explosive diarrhea. More than three times, I didn’t make it."

The actress said she was advised by several doctors to try a GLP-1 as a way to manage the side effects of Graves’ disease, which she's had for more than two decades. However, she was forced to discontinue the medication after experiencing these symptoms.

"What followed was closer to an allergic reaction—the kind I once had to an antibiotic for a sinus infection, which led me to soil myself without warning and cancel a camping trip to spend the weekend on the toilet. This was that, but for three days," Bialik continued.

The former Jeopardy! host said that some of the symptoms, though relatively common according to her doctor, stayed with her for "weeks." Her doctor explained that some of her other medications may have caused her to have a more "dramatic" reaction. Needless to say, it wasn't what Bialik was going for, even though she did end up losing a bit of weight.

Bialik, who is best known for her role as Dr. Amy Farrah Fowler on The Big Bang Theory, is still keeping busy now seven years since the series ended. She was the star of Call Me Kat for three seasons—until the series was cancelled in 2023. She has done a few other projects, most recently starring in Father Mother Sister Brother, which was released in 2025.

A song released during the mid-1970s is helping Queen reach new chart milestones in 2026. 

The legendary British band's compilation album Greatest Hits currently sits at No. 37 on the Billboard 200, extending one of the most remarkable chart runs in music history. 

The renewed success arrives 51 years after the release of "Bohemian Rhapsody," the groundbreaking single that became Queen's first No. 1 hit in the United Kingdom and helped turn the group into global superstars.

Originally released on Oct. 31, 1975, "Bohemian Rhapsody" was unlike anything on the radio. Written by Freddie Mercury and featured on the band's fourth studio album, A Night at the Opera, the nearly six-minute song blended rock, opera, balladry and theatrical storytelling into a single recording.

The ambitious track topped the Official U.K. Singles Chart for nine consecutive weeks and later became Queen's first Top 10 hit in the United States, reaching No. 9 on the Billboard Hot 100. Today, it remains one of the most recognizable songs ever recorded and continues to drive interest in Queen's extensive catalog.

Released in October 1981, Greatest Hits collected many of Queen's most successful songs, including "Bohemian Rhapsody," "We Will Rock You," "We Are the Champions," "Killer Queen," "Somebody to Love" and "Another One Bites the Dust."

The compilation has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide, making it Queen's bestselling album. It is also recognized as the best-selling album in U.K. history, with more than seven million copies sold and more than 1,200 weeks spent on the U.K. Albums Chart.

In the United States, the album has become one of the longest-charting releases ever. As of June 2026, Greatest Hits has logged 701 weeks on the Billboard 200.

The album previously reached a new Billboard 200 peak of No. 8 in 2020, nearly four decades after its original release. That achievement marked one of the slowest climbs into the Top 10 in chart history.

Queen's continued success reflects the band's lasting appeal across generations. Formed in London in 1970 by Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor, with John Deacon joining in 1971, the group became one of the biggest rock acts in the world during the 1970s and 1980s.

The band's influence extends far beyond record sales. Queen has sold an estimated 250 million to 300 million records worldwide and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. In 2018, the group received the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, and in 2025 they were honored with the Polar Music Prize.

Few songs have enjoyed the longevity of "Bohemian Rhapsody." The track was named the best British single of the previous 25 years by the British Phonographic Industry in 1977. It later entered the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004 and was added to the National Recording Registry in 2022.

Its popularity has repeatedly surged through film, television and digital platforms. Following Freddie Mercury's death in November 1991, the song returned to No. 1 in the United Kingdom and spent an additional five weeks atop the chart.

In 1992, its appearance in the comedy film Wayne's World sparked a major resurgence in the United States, helping the song climb to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Another wave of success arrived in 2018 with the release of the Queen biopic Bohemian Rhapsody. Starring Rami Malek as Mercury, the film grossed more than $900 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing music biopic in history. The movie's success introduced Queen's music to a new generation and helped "Bohemian Rhapsody" return to the Billboard Hot 100 for a third time.

The song has also set major streaming records. In 2018, it became the most-streamed song from the 20th century. Its official music video surpassed one billion views on YouTube in 2019, making it the oldest video to reach that milestone on the platform.

In 2021, the Recording Industry Association of America certified "Bohemian Rhapsody" Diamond for 10 million combined sales and streams in the United States, making it the only song from the 1970s to earn that distinction.

As Greatest Hits continues its latest Billboard run, Queen remains proof that truly timeless music can connect with audiences long after its original release.

What's Next for Debbie Harry?

While she's best known as a music icon, Harry has done her fair share of acting, with roles in David Cronenberg’s Videodrome and John Waters’ Hairspray. However, her upcoming role sounds like quite a doozie. Last month, Deadline reported that Harry will play Pamela Anderson's mother in a comedy called Maitreya that's directed by Portlandia creator Jonathan Krisel.

"Maitreya (Anderson), a rising star in the New Age Healing community who is about to head off to a conference in India when she receives a call from her estranged sister, Monica: their father is dying. Rather than stay home with him, Maitreya decides to bring her entire family – including her mother Barbara (Harry) – to the conference and put her New Age healing theories to the test (all while surreptitiously gathering material for her next book),” the description reads.

One of the most enduring bands of the classic rock era is spending even more time on the road in 2026.

Toto has announced an expansion of its long-running Dogz of Oz Tour, adding a new slate of U.S. dates as demand for the band's live shows continues to grow.

The newly announced concerts extend a tour that has already taken the group across multiple continents and helped introduce its catalog to a new generation of listeners.

Best known for classics including "Africa," "Rosanna" and "Hold the Line," Toto has enjoyed a remarkable resurgence during the streaming era. The band announced its first 13 shows of its nOrth American tour in November 2025 and has since continued expanding its routing through the end of August 2026.

What began as a nostalgia-driven tour has evolved into a broader celebration of the band's history, with recent setlists featuring not only major radio hits but also deeper album cuts and instrumental showcases highlighting the group’s legendary musicianship.

The band’s modern resurgence has been fueled in large part by the continued popularity of "Africa," which has found new life through streaming platforms, social media, television placements and cover versions. The song's enduring appeal has introduced Toto to listeners who weren’t alive when the track first became a hit.

"As a kid, I'd always been fascinated by Africa," Toto vocalist, David Paich, told The Guardian. "I loved movies about Dr. Livingstone and missionaries. I went to an all-boys Catholic school and a lot of the teachers had done missionary work in Africa. They told me how they would bless the villagers, their Bibles, their books, their crops and, when it rained, they'd bless the rain. That's where the hook line – 'I bless the rains down in Africa' – came from."

That cross-generational popularity has translated into strong ticket sales and increasingly ambitious live productions.

The current lineup continues to balance longtime members with veteran touring musicians capable of recreating the intricate arrangements that helped make Toto one of the most respected acts in rock history.

"I'm a musician. That's what I know how to do," said Toto guitarist, Steve Lukather in a 2024 interview. "I love to play. I'm having more fun now than I ever have – or I wouldn't do it any more. Why would I do it if it was a burden to me? I could do other stuff. I'm keeping our music alive, with great players."

More than four decades after its biggest commercial successes, Toto remains a major draw on the concert circuit.

With additional U.S. dates now on the calendar, the Dogz of Oz Tour is poised to continue bringing one of rock’s most celebrated catalogs to audiences throughout 2026.

Pets have increasingly become bigger parts of our lives in this modern era. Though many were initially bred to be working animals—horses as transportation, farm cats to reduce rodent issues, dogs who helped with hunting and/or herding and so on—today's furry four-legged buddies are often companions first, and perhaps even more than that. If you're the kind of person who thinks of your pet as your child, you may have several noticeable traits, according to four psychologists who spoke with Parade.

Per Psychology Today, a 2021 Honest Paws study of child-free millennial women found that 70% of those surveyed thought of their cat or dog as their child.

"Pets fill an important emotional role that shouldn’t be dismissed," Dr. Meghan Marcum, Chief Psychologist at AMFM Healthcare, tells Parade. She adds that "those bonds are valid, even if they don’t look the same for everyone."

Dr. Jennifer Dragonette, psychologist and clinical services instructor at Newport Healthcare, agrees, explaining that "strong human-animal bonds" can be very beneficial for people.

"[They] are associated with reduced stress, improved mood, increased emotional regulation and a greater sense of connection and companionship," she says.

Beyond that, a close relationship with your fur baby—to the point where you may feel like they're your actual baby—can indicate a variety of other things about your personality.

Is It Normal To See Your Pet as Your Child?

Dr. Laura Vogel, a psychologist and the Director of Mental Health Services at the Momentous Institute, says, "It's very normal" to see your pet as your child.

"Pets often activate caregiving systems similar to those used in parenting," she says, adding that protecting, feeding and soothing a pet "can naturally lead the brain to 'code' that relationship in a parent-like way." She says it's especially common for this framing to be used by people who have pets but don't have children.

But even for those with kids and pets, it's not about loving your pet as much as—or more—than your child—it's about the love, period.

"This type of attachment is not replacing human relationships. In most cases, it is expanding them," says Dr. Lauren Mahoney, a New York school psychologist who provides private practice services at Authentically Living Psychological Services. "People who view their pets as children are still very aware of context... When people say, 'He’s part of my family'... they are describing how the relationship is experienced psychologically."

Dr. Dragonette adds that most people "are aware that the relationship is different from parenting a child," but they can still experience a deep and meaningful bond with their pet. She says it's "less about confusing pets with human children and more about expressing attachment, responsibility and emotional closeness."

Dr. Vogel says those who think of their pets as children are more easily able to attribute "human-like thoughts, feelings and intentions to animals." She adds that the behavior inherently "strengthens emotional closeness" with animals.

2. Caring

Dr. Dragonette says that someone who thinks of their pet as a child probably "genuinely [enjoys] nurturing and caring for another living being." She adds that this caregiving attitude helps people gain "a sense of meaning, responsibility and emotional fulfillment" from their lives.

3. Empathetic

Because pets can only communicate through behavior and body language, Dr. Dragonette says that those who care for them are highly empathetic and are "especially sensitive to subtle emotional cues." She adds that they're usually "highly attuned to the emotional states and needs of others," including those of their pets.

4. Routine-oriented

"Caring for a pet creates structure," says Dr. Marcum. She adds that people often find comfort in the types of daily rhythms associated with pet parenting.

Dr. Mahoney agrees, sharing that many will structure their day around their pet.

"People will say, 'I can’t stay late, I have to get back to him,' or 'I plan everything around her
schedule,'" she explains. The psychologist adds that "even the routine itself becomes meaningful" because daily patterns like walks and feeding schedules "create stability."

5. Conflict-averse

The consistency of love from a pet "can be appealing to people who find human relationships stressful or unpredictable," says Dr. Vogel.

"Parenting a human child involves... long-term identity development, moral guidance and a recognition of the child as an independent future adult," she explains. "Love for a pet is often more consistently reciprocal, less complex and often less conflicted."

That is, of course, appealing to those who are conflict-averse.

Dr. Dragonette also adds: "Animals also provide a type of connection that feels emotionally safe and free from many of the social pressures present in human relationships."

6. Perceptive

"Individuals who view their pets as children tend to be highly attuned and deeply consistent in how they show up," says Dr. Mahoney, adding, "You will hear things like, 'Something’s off, I can tell,' or 'He’s not acting like himself today.'

Dr. Dragonette adds that a perceptive mindset can expand beyond their bond with their pet.

"In many cases, they are attentive not only to the needs of their pets, but also to shifts in mood and emotional tone in their broader relationships," she shares.

7. Loyal

Those who think of their pet as a child "often place a high value on attachment, loyalty and routines of connection," says Dr. Dragonette.

Dr. Marcum adds that these types of people "often prioritize connection" with the pet.

Is It Bad or Appropriate To Say You Think of Your Pet as Your Child?

While you may think of your pet as a child, it's not uncommon for parents of human children to take offense to that.

"Some parents may experience the comparison as minimizing the emotional, financial and physical demands involved in raising children," says Dr. Dragonette.

But she adds that a strong connection with a pet "does not invalidate or compete with the experience of parenthood" because the relationships simply "serve different roles, and both can hold significant emotional importance simultaneously."

She acknowledges that pet parenting and child rearing "involve different developmental, emotional and practical responsibilities." But she adds that biology alone doesn't determine attachment levels.

"People are capable of forming profound emotional bonds across many different types of relationships," she states.

Still, Dr. Marcum recommends "being mindful" of the context and trying to understand how the parents you're speaking with may receive the perceived comparison.

"Different people interpret that language differently," she adds. Even if it's not your intention, she says, "It may feel like a comparison that minimizes their experience."

At the end of the day, Dr. Vogel shares that she's "less concerned" with what someone calls their relationship with their pet than how it factors into their life.

"I’m looking at whether it enriches their daily lives, supports their emotional well-being and coexists with other healthy relationships," she notes. "If it does, then it’s generally a positive and adaptive bond."

Dua Lipaand Callum Turnerjust tied the knot…again. The couple’s second wedding in one week, with a romantic affair in Sicily that included a historic 18th-century mansion dubbed ‘little Versailles,’ a celebrity guest list, and a serenade by none other than the legendary Elton John.

The newlyweds first wed in a small civil ceremony at London’s Marylebone Town Hall on May 31. This isn’t the first time a famous couple chose Marylebone. Paul McCartneymarried Linda Eastman, and later Nancy Shevell, Ringo Starr married Barbara Bach, and Antonio Banderas married Melanie Griffith at the same spot.

Following their London nuptials, Lipa and Turner jetted off to scenic Sicily for an Italian wedding at the Villa Valguarnera on Saturday, June 6. The private ceremony was well guarded, with the couple reportedly using anti-drone systems to maintain their privacy. Of course, that doesn’t mean some of the guests haven’t leaked details, including a sweet serenade by Sir Elton John! 

What song did Elton John sing at Dua Lipa and Callum Turner’s wedding?

The music icon chose his 1970 hit ‘Your Song’ for the pair’s nuptials. Written byElton and Bernie Taupin in 1969, the pair reportedly penned the song over breakfast. 

Elton told Rolling Stone in 2013, “What can I say, it’s a perfect song. It gets better every time I sing it. I remember writing it at my parents’ apartment in North London, and Bernie giving me the lyrics, sitting down at the piano.” He continued, “I was 22, and he was 19, and it gave us so much confidence.”

Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ 

While it would eventually become one of Elton’s top hits, ‘Your Song’ was originally released by Three Dog Night on their third album, ‘It Ain’t Easy.’ Unlike the more popular Elton John version, Three Dog Night added a heavier bass line and a more prominent guitar track to the tune.

Not long after, John released ‘Your Song’ as a double A-side single in the U.S. (in October 1970). It peaked at number on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 in 1971 and reached number seven on the UK Singles Chart, making it the first Elton John song to enter either chart. ‘Your Song’ spent 14 weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and hit number nine on the Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart.
