Nancy Guthrie Update: Expert’s Statistical Analysis Points to Grim Outcome
On a recent episode of The Interview Room, Dr. Gary Brucato offered his perspective on the ongoing Nancy Guthrie case. Brucato, who is known for analyzing criminal behavior patterns, says the statistics tied to similar missing persons cases suggest a grim outcome—one that could shape how investigators and the public view the case moving forward.
"My sense is, this woman passed away during whatever it is that was supposed to happen," Brucato said during the conversation, which included five other panel members (Chris McDonough, John Lamb, Bob Gilliam, Dan Stover, and Danny Ahrens). He also shared what the statistics in the case show. For example, the suspect (or suspects) is likely male, the motive was likely for financial gain, and the people behind Guthrie's disappearance probably knew her one way or another.
"Also based on statistics, I think it's safe to say that it's highly improbable that she is alive," he said. "And also based on statistics, I don't even believe there is an intact body. I do not believe that somewhere you're going to find her in one piece."

"In 2026, you eliminate as much of the body as you can because you know the science is going to catch you. So, what you generally do is you dismember, or you mutilate or you burn etc. ... I would be absolutely flabbergasted if it turns out there's an intact set of remains buried someplace or laying someplace," Brucato continued.
The rest of the panel agreed with Brucato and all six members believe that Guthrie is diseased. Moreover, the panel also agreed that Guthrie's body is not intact.
You can watch the full episode of The Interview Room below.
Guthrie, 84, has been missing since Sunday, Feb. 1. Investigators believe that she was abducted from her Arizona home in the middle of the night. Despite receiving thousands of tips, authorities have not named a suspect, nor have they been able to locate Guthrie. Anyone with information is asked to call the FBI (1-800-CALL-FBI).

Nicole Kidman's Shocking New Career Path Came From Her Mother's Loneliest Moments
Nicole Kidman has never been one to sit still and watch life happen to her, but her latest pursuit has absolutely nothing to do with Hollywood — and everything to do with the kind of human connection that matters most when time runs out for all of us.
The 58-year-old actress recently revealed she's training to become a death doula, and the story behind that decision is profoundly moving.
Speaking at the University of San Francisco on April 11 during the school's speaker series with investigative journalist Vicky Nguyen, Kidman acknowledged that her announcement might sound out of left field. But then she explained exactly where the idea came from: watching her own mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, face loneliness during her final days in September 2024.
"Between my sister and I, we have so many children and our careers and our work," Kidman told attendees, describing the unbearable weight of wanting to be fully present for her dying mother while still managing everything else demanding her attention.
@cbssundaymorningNicole Kidman reflects on the grief of losing her mother, Janelle, who passed away at 84. She shares the importance of embracing waves of sorrow without a timeline. #grief #loss #mother
♬ original sound - CBS Sunday MorningHer father passed away in 2014, making the situation even harder. In that moment watching her mother go through something so profound yet completely solitary, she realized something: she wished there were people who existed whose sole purpose was simply sitting with someone — calmly, without agenda, just being fully present.
That's exactly what death doulas do.
Nicole Kidman's Death Doula Training Addresses Gap She Witnessed FirsthandDeath doulas, also called end-of-life doulas, offer emotional, spiritual and practical support to dying individuals and their families. They don't provide medical care — they offer something quieter and more human: presence, advocacy and dignity.
For Kidman, learning this deeply intimate work became something she felt genuinely called to pursue.

Grief has shaped most of her past decade. After losing her father, psychologist Dr. Antony Kidman, in 2014, she then had to face the devastation of her mother's death while attending the Venice Film Festival for her film Babygirl. She departed immediately to be with family, and the film's director read a letter on her behalf during what would have been her best actress acceptance speech.
In that letter, Kidman wrote that she traveled to Venice only to learn "shortly after that my beautiful, brave mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, has just passed."
Afterward, she described her mother as a "compass" who had quietly guided her throughout so much of her life. She later admitted to waking up overwhelmed in the middle of the night, still trying to process the profound loss of both parents.
She's continued to honor her mother publicly. On what would have been her mother's 85th birthday in March 2025, she shared a photo of her parents together on Instagram, writing simply about missing them. A year later, she posted once again on the same date with the same quiet tenderness.
There's something very meaningful about someone with Kidman's platform deciding what she wants to do with her time and energy is learn how to sit with other people during their hardest moments in life. It emerged from real loss, a real gap she identified, and a deeply human wish that no one else's mother should feel quite so alone at the end.
Robotic Birds Are Headed to This National Park
In a fascinating blend of conservation and technology, Grand Teton National Park is testing an unusual solution to a serious wildlife problem: robotic birds. These lifelike decoys are designed to help restore populations of the greater sage-grouse, a species that has been quietly disappearing across the American West.
Related: 5 Spots Where Retirees Can Enjoy the Best Bird Watching in the U.S.
The Sage-GrouseThe greater sage-grouse is one of North America’s most iconic and most vulnerable birds. Known for their elaborate mating rituals, male sage grouse gather each spring on open grounds called “leks,” where they puff up bright yellow air sacs on their chests, fan their spiky tails, and perform intricate dances to attract females. It’s one of the most unique wildlife spectacles in the United States.
But this remarkable bird is in trouble. Populations have plummeted dramatically over the past century due to habitat loss, development, and human activity. Today, the sagebrush ecosystems on which they depend are increasingly fragmented, leaving fewer safe places to breed and raise young.
That’s where the robotic birds come in.
Conservational EffortsAt Grand Teton, conservationists are using mechanical sage grouse decoys, some built by local students, to mimic the behavior of real males during mating season. These robotic birds puff their chests, perform courtship dances, and even play recorded mating calls starting at dawn. The goal is simple but powerful: attract real sage grouse to newly restored habitat and encourage them to breed there instead of in more dangerous areas.
This effort is especially important because of a unique challenge in the park: the presence of an airport within park boundaries. Birds have historically gathered near the runway, where they risk deadly collisions with aircraft. By luring them to safer, restored areas, the robotic decoys could help protect both wildlife and human safety.
It might sound like science fiction, but the idea is grounded in a real ecological challenge: even when habitats are restored, animals don’t always return on their own. These robotic birds essentially act as “social cues,” signaling to real grouse that a location is safe and suitable for breeding.
While the success of the project is still being monitored, it represents a creative shift in how we approach conservation and one that blends technology, community involvement, and ecological science.

How Visitors Can Help Protect WildlifeInnovations like robotic birds are exciting, but conservation doesn’t stop with scientists and park staff. Visitors play a critical role in protecting species like the sage grouse.
If you’re visiting a national park, here are a few simple ways to help:
- Keep your distance: Wildlife, especially during breeding season, is easily disturbed. Observing from afar ensures animals can carry out natural behaviors without stress.
- Stay on designated trails: Straying off-trail can damage fragile habitats like sagebrush ecosystems, which take years to recover.
- Visit responsibly during sensitive seasons: Early mornings in spring are critical for sage grouse mating displays. Avoid disrupting known lek areas if they’re marked or restricted.
- Reduce noise: Loud sounds can scare animals away from breeding grounds, potentially disrupting reproduction.
- Support conservation efforts: Whether through park donations, volunteering, or simply spreading awareness, small actions can make a big difference.
The use of robotic birds at Grand Teton signals a broader shift in conservation thinking that embraces innovation to solve complex environmental problems. As wildlife faces increasing pressure from human activity and climate change, creative solutions like this may become more common.
For the sage grouse, a bird known for its ancient and intricate mating dance, a little help from modern technology might be exactly what it needs to survive.
Star Trek Legend Weighs in on AI: 'Evolve or Die'
For over seven years on Star Trek: Voyager, Tim Russ portrayed the Vulcan Commander Tuvok, a character defined by cold, hard logic. Today, Russ is applying that same Vulcan pragmatism to a topic that has Hollywood (and the rest of the world on edge: the rise of Artificial Intelligence.
In a candid new interview with Trek Culture, Russ bypassed the usual industry hand-wringing to deliver a sobering reality check. For Russ, the debate over whether AI 'should' be used is already over. 'That technology is out of the box, and it’s on its way, and there’s no stopping it,' Russ says. 'The nature of the kind of work that I do may change very dramatically, and it may change before the end of this year.'
Adapting to the New FrontierRuss draws a parallel between AI and the industry’s shift from film to digital cameras. While some purists resisted the change, digital eventually democratized filmmaking, allowing anyone with an iPhone to become a creator. He views AI as the next inevitable step in that evolution.
In fact, the veteran Star Trek actor and director isn't just watching from the sidelines. He’s actively integrating these tools into his own workflow. Russ revealed he is currently using AI to animate a new project and produce a 'sizzle reel' for a feature film pitch. 'I’m using that technology myself in little bits and pieces for specific things,' he notes, citing the massive cost savings over traditional animation. 'You either evolve and adapt, or you perish. That’s how it works.'
Related: 'Star Trek' Legend Offered 'Klingon School' to 2026 Cast
The 'Arms Race' of TruthHowever, Russ isn't blind to the 'nefarious' potential of the tech. He warns of an impending 'arms race' in software to both create and identify authentic content. His biggest concern lies in the world of deepfakes and digital defamation. 'You can create something that makes someone look like they may have done something illegal when in fact they never did,' he warns. 'We don't live in a world where we can take things on faith anymore.'
The Human AdvantageDespite the 'unease and trepidation' felt by his peers, Russ believes there is one area where humans still hold the high ground, the soul of the story. While AI can process data and render images in seconds, it lacks the lived experience required for true originality.
'There's no accounting for the creative ability or the storytelling ability. That is still mostly human,' Russ says. 'AI is not going to come up with an original concept. You have to come up with the story...before it can do what it does.'
For a man who spent years exploring the final frontier, Russ’s outlook on our digital future is clear. The tools are changing, but the human need to tell a great story remains the logic that will give us the infinite diversity in infinite combinations that makes great entertainment. (Yes, I had to work IDIC in there somewhere).
1957 Jukebox Classic Became a No. 1 Hit 69 Years Ago Today
Exactly 69 years ago, Elvis Presley scored a No. 1 hit with hit 1957 classic, "All Shook Up."
Just three weeks after its release, "All Shook Up" soared to the top of the Billboard charts on April 13, 1957, becoming his sixth song to do so at the time. The King of Rock and Roll would go on to have a career total of 17 No. 1 hits.
"All Shook Up," is considered a No. 1 Hot 100 hit, though it technically predated the famous hart. Instead, the Elvis track rose to No. 1 on the Best Sellers in Stores chart, the "key predecessor" for the Hot 100, according to Billboard.
On April 13, 1957, "All Shook Up" landed at No. 1 on the Best Sellers in Stores chart, which Billboard retired in 1958. It remained on top for 8 weeks, while also serving a nine-week reign at the top of the Jukebox Hits chart, which has also since been retired.
View this post on Instagram"All Shook Up," written by Otis Blackwell, was originally performed by David Hill (a.k.a. David Hess) in 1956. Elvis recorded it in January of the following year, with his version ultimately becoming the most famous iteration of the song.
Elvis' "All Shook Up," has s since been certified 2x Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), and it is included in several "best of" music lists, such as Billboard‘s roundup of Elvis’ 37 Biggest Hits, published in 2024 (#2), as well as Forbes‘ 2024 list of the Top 20 Elvis Presley Songs of All Time (#15).
It was also ranked at #3 on Parade's list of the Top 20 Best Elvis Songs Ever, published in 2022.
How Many No. 1 Hits Did Elvis Presley Have? Here are the 17 songs Billboard considers to be Elvis’ 17 No. 1 hits:
- “Don’t Be Cruel/Hound Dog” – 11 weeks
- “All Shook Up” – 9 weeks
- “Heartbreak Hotel” – 8 weeks
- “Jailhouse Rock” – 7 weeks
- “(Let Me Be Your) Teddy Bear” – 7 weeks

The 5 States Where Your Identity Is Practically Public Property
Babe, wake up, a new 2026 cybersecurity audit just dropped. Turns out your state government might be leaving the door wide open for hackers. It’s a $16.6 billion crisis where your Social Security number and bank details might be treated like public property.
The data shows that while states are building fortresses, others haven't yet put up a "Keep Out" sign. Nevada is currently the most dangerous spot in America for your data, but it isn't the only place where you’re flying solo.

The States with No Digital Privacy Legislation in 2026The biggest red flag for residents in Nevada, Florida, and Wyoming is a flat 0.0 score on data protection laws. “The gap between Nevada and California in this study comes down largely to legislation,” says Aimen Hallou, Chief Technology Officer at Floxy. “States without privacy laws on the books are essentially leaving residents to absorb that damage without any structural protection. A strong legal framework doesn't guarantee safety, but the absence of one makes things measurably worse.”
These states have virtually no legislation on the books to guard its citizen’s private info. If a company leaks personal data in Las Vegas or Miami, residents are often left to absorb that damage without any guardrails from the government. In Nevada, the problem is critical. One in 200 residents is already a victim of cybercrime. The state is losing $8.09 million for every 100,000 people because the study claims aren't enough legal safety nets in place.
Deepfakes and Scams: The High-Risk ZonesAlaska sits at #3 because of a knowledge gap, scoring a 3 out of 5 on digital literacy. Which makes residents a target for deepfakes and voice-cloning scams. Hackers know this, hitting the state with 578 fraud incidents per 100,000 residents.
Washington, the home of Amazon and Microsoft is typically thought be a hub for digital awareness. Not quite. The state ranks as the most digitally vulnerable state in the report because of its low digital and AI literacy scores relative to how much time residents spend online. They score a 54 on the digital vulnerability score, meaning they are tech savvy but can still fall prey to a deepfake or a phishing script.
The Hidden Risks of Living in States With Strong Data LawsCalifornia has the strongest data laws in the top ten with a 9.4/10. Yet, it’s still at #5. Why? Because that’s where the wealth is. Hackers steal $2.5 billion from Californians every year. The difference is that California residents have a legal shield to fight back once the damage is done.
In Delaware and Maryland, the issue is volume. Marylanders are hit with identity theft at a rate of 1,044 per 100,000 people. Even with laws on the books, the frequency of the attacks means a hacker is always getting through.
How to Protect Your Identity in a High-Risk StateThe sophistication of these attacks is rising. But as Hallou points out, if you can’t recognize a phishing link or a fake login page, the hackers don't have to work very hard. For those living in a zero score state, you are your own first responder. It’s time to double-check your passwords, and your state’s privacy policies.
'Wait, What Do I Actually Do With a Butler?' A First-Timer’s Guide to Surviving Suite Life
You’ve finally splurged on that Yacht Club or Haven experience. You’ve walked into your room, admired the balcony, and then it happens: You find yourself staring at a very impeccably dressed person and thinking, "Wait, what am I actually supposed to do with a butler?"
You aren't alone. On Reddit, a now-viral thread has become the ultimate support group for people who feel just a little too guilty to be pampered. While most of us are happy just to have someone else make the bed, the internet's suggestions for first-time suite guests range from the hilariously specific to the "wait, they can do that?" ridiculous.
- The "Town Crier": One user joked about having their escort clear a path through the Lido deck: "Have the butler walk in front of you as you go through the ship, shouting: 'Make way for Mr. PHK-FL! Clear the way! Ahoy there!'"
- The Batman Reference: Another leaned into the Bruce Wayne lifestyle: "Insist on calling him Alfred, make sure he hangs up your suit, ask for nightly stories about your parents who passed away when you were young, make sure he tidies up the cave… you know, the usual stuff."
- The "Duh" Response: Another simply suggested the most obvious—if rarely used—verb: "Buttle."
Of course, if you really wanted to lean into the energy, you could always appoint your butler as your personal "Pillow Fort Concierge" or a "Diet Coke Sommelier" to help you decide which soda pairs best with a sunset—though we suspect they’d prefer to use their real expertise to help you with something much more complex.

"I’d Rather Walk the Plank"One of the most debated butler perks is the offer to unpack your suitcases. While some people love the idea of appearing at dinner in a perfectly steamed outfit without lifting a finger, others find the thought of a stranger handling their laundry deeply unsettling.
On the r/Cruise thread, one user confessed: "Oh god, I saw a scene once where a guest asked for an unpack and then just sat on the bed making intense personal conversation while the steward handled their underwear. I’d rather walk the plank."
If the idea of someone touching your unmentionables makes you break out in hives, a simple "Thank you, but I’m a bit particular about my organization" is all you need.

What They Can Actually Do (That You Didn’t Realize)A cruise butler is part concierge and part luxury project manager. Here are a few things they handle that will save you hours of vacation stress:
- The "Impossible" Reservation: Can’t get into Jacques or Red Ginger when you want? "Ask your butler. They have internal pull and can move things around."
- The Balcony Rituals: If you’re in your room, you likely want to be on the balcony. Cruisers recommend using them to "organize OJ, coffee and a pastry every morning I can have on my balcony" or to "arrange afternoon tea for me on my balcony."
- The In-Suite Feast: If you're wiped out after a long excursion, skip the restaurant. Users suggest having "specialty dining delivered to your room after a long excursion day rather than having to go to the restaurant."
- The Logistic Legend: From picking up early tender tickets to rebooking canceled excursions, the butler saves you from waiting in long lines at guest services. As one user pointed out, "the butler handled getting us booked on a new one by calling the excursion desk. This saved us from waiting in a long line at the desk."
- The Party Planner: Making friends on board? One cruiser shared: "Friends of mine asked their butler to set up a party for friends they had made one evening—drinks and hors d'oeuvres. That sounded really fun."
- Wardrobe Rescue: Need a dress steamed for "Chic Night"? Hand it over. They’ll have it back and hanging in your closet before cocktail hour.
This is the No. 1 question in every thread. While many cruise lines say "gratuities are included," the general consensus among suite guests is that the butler (and the concierge) are usually not part of that automatic daily pool.
The rule of thumb? $10 to $20 per person, per day is a solid baseline for good service. Most people prefer to hand over a thank-you note with cash on the final night.

Kate Middleton Caused 'Panic at the Palace' With Her Unconventional Wedding Day Decision
Kate Middleton made a surprising and unconventional wedding-day decision as she prepared to marry Prince William, sparking "panic at the palace."
In April 2011, Kate wasn't yet a royal family member. Nor did she have any official ties to the House of Windsor.
Therefore, as she worked with the royal household to plan her wedding day, she decided that she would forgo a traditional element of her arrival. She felt that since she was not yet a family member, she wanted a more modern mode of transportation to London's Westminster Abbey.
According to a report by Marie Claire, who quoted from the book William and Catherine: The Monarchy's New Era: The Inside Story by royal expert Russell Myers, Kate's choice reportedly threw the palace into a tailspin.

"Courtiers were also surprised when Catherine announced her wish not to travel in the traditional horse-drawn Glass Coach, as used by Diana, Princess of Wales, as well as Queen Elizabeth," Myers wrote.

"As much as tradition was at the forefront of her mind, Catherine wanted a modern slant on the proceedings and was of the view that she was not yet a 'princess' who would use such a mode of transport."
Instead, the future royal arrived at her wedding, accompanied by her father, Michael Middleton, in a 1977 Rolls-Royce Phantom VI. The automobile was a gift to the queen for her Silver Jubilee from the manufacturer.

Myers added, "This prompted panic at the palace, who feared that an alternative vehicle might be necessary: in December 2010, vandals had splattered the car with white paint and smashed a rear window as [King] Charles and [Queen] Camilla were heading to the Royal Variety Performance." Once the decision to use the vehicle was made, police were reportedly put on alert so no other mishaps would take place.
Kate Middleton’s arrival at her royal wedding to Prince William was an early sign she was determined to carve out her own path within the House of Windsor. She has since continued to embrace a more modern approach to royal life alongside her husband as they prepare for their future leadership roles.

2023 Box Office Flop, Based on Iconic 1970 Book, Ranked Among 'Best Movies of All Time'
It wasn’t a box office hit, but Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret has been named one of the best movies of all time. The 2023 coming-of-age comedy-drama film ranked on Rotten Tomatoes’ greatest films rundown, on an eclectic list that also includes The Godfather, Casablanca, and Jaws.
Written and directed by Kelly Fremon Craig, Are You There God? It’s Me, Margaret starred Abby Ryder Fortson, Rachel McAdams, Kathy Bates, Benny Safdie, and Elle Graham. It was based on Judy Blume’s iconic 1970 YA book of the same name.
The movie received praise from critics—and from Blume herself. It followed 11-year-old Margaret Simon (Fortson) navigating puberty, family issues, and new friendships while also struggling to find her religious identity.
Movie critic Marya E. Gates described Craig’s adaptation of Blume’s classic novel as “exhilarating.” “Fortson is fantastic as the iconic Margaret, channeling her conflicting moods with aplomb,” the reviewer added, before praising McAdams’ “incandescent performance” as “perhaps her most accomplished performance yet.”
Despite positive reviews, in 2023, Deadline reported that Lionsgate's feature adaptation of the Judy Blume classic “fell greatly short” at the box office with a $6.8 million opening weekend. According to Box Office Mojo, Margaret earned just $20.3 million at the box office.
Judy Blume said the movie was better than the bookBlume’s book is one of the most beloved YA books of all time. It has never gone out of print in the 56 years since it was published.
Speaking with the Today Show in 2023, Blume said the long-overdue film adaptation of her book felt “wonderful.” “And the reason that it feels wonderful is because I love the movie,” she said. “And how many authors of the book can say that? I think the movie is better than the book.”
Blume admitted she never intended to sell the rights to her classic novel. “It was the right team, is what it was,” she shared.

Blume changed her mind about not selling after receiving a “remarkable and passionate” letter from Craig. The legendary author was actively involved in the production of the movie and even made a cameo in a neighborhood scene.
“Yes. I think for a long time the feeling in L.A. was, 'Don't bother because she's not going to sell any of her work,’” Blume told Entertainment Weekly of her movie deal. “Then, the agents changed. I had a new agent, and I said, ‘I love movies, I would love to do something, but Margaret's off the table.’ … Kelly came with credentials. I don't think anyone else had ever come to me with that kind of credential. ...So, here we are with Margaret, and I'm so, so happy that we did it.”
1977 Mood-Boosting Anthem Ranked No. 1 Timeless Song From the 1970s
Whether it’s the beginning of the week, the end of a rough day, or quitting hour heading into the weekend, mood-boosting songs are always on time. And the following serotonin fuel was just named the most timeless song from the 1970s.
“Mr. Blue Sky,” by Electric Light Orchestra, tops Woman’s Day’s list of "30 Songs From the 1970s That Stand the Test of Time," with the publication writing that it has "a tempo that immediately puts a spring in listeners' steps." It's exactly what you need today.
View this post on InstagramReleased in 1977 on the English band’s seventh studio album, Out of the Blue, the track is widely considered the Electric Light Orchestra’s signature song. Popular as a sunny day, it peaked at No. 6 on the U.K. Singles chart and No. 35 on the Billboard Hot 100.
“I remember writing the words down,” frontman Jeff Lynne told Rolling Stone in 2016 about penning the lyrics while tucked away in the Swiss Alps. “I was at a chalet in the mountains of Switzerland and it was all misty and cloudy all the way around. I didn’t see any countryside for the first four days or so, and then everything cleared and there was this enormous view forever and the sky was blue.”
A pop culture phenomenon, the sun-soaked tune has been featured all over movies and national events, elevating its fame and the band’s legacy throughout the decades. From Role Models, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, and The Game Plan, to Martian Child, The Invention of Lying, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, the track has tripped the light fantastic all over the big screen.
Not to mention it was also used in opening and closing ceremonies of the 2012 Summer Olympics, American Songwriter shares, both Weezer and Pomplamoose loved it enough to cover it in 2019, and social media simply can't stop soundtracking their posts to it.
Here's sending sunshine and Mr. Blue Sky your way today.

Popeyes’ First-Ever Anime-Inspired Menu Is Here—See What’s New
Popeyes is launching new menu items as part of a "bold" new collaboration with One Piece.
On Monday, the popular fried chicken chain announced that it's inviting fans to "fuel up like a member of the Straw Hat Crew" and releasing a "one-of-a-kind," limited-edition collaboration with Toei Animation inspired by the long-running franchise.
"For One Piece fans, the story is about adventure, loyalty, and going all-in for the things you love. This energy perfectly aligns with Popeyes and comes to life throughout this partnership with Toei Animation," Matt Rubin, chief marketing officer at Popeyes, explained in a statement. "We set out to create a collaboration that brings our bold flavors into the world of One Piece and its anime fandom, the kind of meal you’d want before setting sail for the Grand Line."
As part of Popeyes' first-ever anime-themed menu, the partnership will also include its own series of collectibles, in addition to the new and revamped menu items.
"Inspired by some of our favorite moments from the iconic One Piece franchise, we infused the experience with signature Popeyes flavor," Rubin added, "Whether you’re a longtime fan of One Piece and Popeyes or discovering both for the first time, this collaboration is designed to bring that spirit of adventure to life."

As for the new menu items, Popeyes guests can enjoy a new dessert, a new drink, and two themed combos.

- Luffy Bento Bundle ($13.99): Also includes two pieces of chicken and a side of Mac & Cheese, as well as refreshing Gum-Gum Fruit Lemonade, and Chopper’s Cupcake. Popeyes called the combo a "truly legendary feast," made for fans who don't want to choose just one piece from the new menu.
Popeyes said its new One Piece-themed menu will launch today (Monday, April 13) at locations nationwide—but only for a limited time. Prices may vary.
The fast-food chain's exclusive One Piece collectibles—items such as keychains, T-shirts, and bento boxes—will be available online beginning Wednesday, April 15.

What Are Fans Saying? While the items haven't officially dropped yet, the menu leaked online this past weekend, and so far, fans don't appear to be disappointed with any of the menu items.
"I have to try that lemonade," one Instagram user cheered, before another simply exclaimed, "YESSSSSSSS😍."
Fans aren't as confident about the company's decision to offer freebies only at select locations in six cities, with one suggesting, "resellers are gonna be lined up around the block for that bento box."
"Wonder how much the bento boxes are gonna go for on eBay," another teased.
That said, those comments came before they knew the collab included its own merch line—allowing wider access to the bento box and more exclusive goodies—so, hopefully, fans are feeling relieved (and maybe even more excited) now.

The Night Dick Van Dyke Saved Mary Tyler Moore From Becoming a Has-Been
Hollywood loves a funeral. In 1969, the industry was already starting to hum the dirge for Mary Tyler Moore’s career. Hard to believe now, but the woman who defined the independent female lead character was considered a one-hit wonder after her post-sitcom film career stalled. Then came the TV specialDick Van Dyke and the Other Woman.
It aired April 13, 1969 and it changed her career.
Moore had spent years as Laura Petrie, the wife in the capri pants who cried 'Oh, Rob!' with a lilt that made it charming. But when the curtains closed on The Dick Van Dyke Show, the magic didn't follow her. She did a musical called Thoroughly Modern Millie and a few dramas. Then the entertainment industry started whispering: maybe Moore was a sidekick. A relic of the early sixties.
But Dick Van Dykeknew better. He invited her onto his musical variety special and ttreated her like an equal, not a guest star.
The two of them stepped onto the stage and moved like they were wired into the same nervous system. They sang and danced through intricate routines that would make modern performers dizzy. Moore wasn't "the wife" anymore. Moore had a stage presence that made viewers remember Laura Petrie while also showcasing her range.
CBS executives were watching from the wings and their offices and saw the performance of a woman who could carry a show without a husband in the frame. Because of that hour of television, an idea grew, later turning into The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
The special proved she had the gravitas for her own show.
“Outside of her family, I don’t think there was anyone more proud of her than I was.” Van Dyke later said about their partnership. That talent was never in question for the fans, but the suits needed a nudge. The Other Woman was that shove. It stripped away the 1950s wife persona and offered a peek at a modern woman ready for the 1970s.
Moore caught her second wind in a pair of dance shoes, proving the suits wrong before the credits even rolled.
Guests Will Notice Major Changes at Universal CityWalk Starting This Week
If you’re heading to Universal Orlando this week, you’re going to notice the "vibe shift" at CityWalk almost immediately. While the resort has spent the last year celebrating the massive success of Epic Universe, it’s officially time for the "preview" era to end. Tomorrow, April 13, the high-tech Epic Universe Preview Center is closing its doors for good. But for those of us who live for a bit of nostalgia, the silver lining is huge: the Universal Legacy Store is officially coming home to reclaim its original storefront later this month.
For the uninitiated, the Legacy Store isn't just another gift shop; it’s a "prop graveyard" in the best way possible. Before it went on hiatus to make room for the Epic models, it was the go-to sanctuary for fans of "extinct" attractions. Walking in is like a trip through a cinematic time machine. You can expect to see incredible "behind-the-scenes" pieces like original ride vehicle models from Kongfrontation and Earthquake, plus actual props from Jaws and Back to the Future: The Ride.
It’s the kind of place where you can find a Mold-a-Rama machine dedicated to the world’s most famous shark or spot a prop gun from Terminator 2: 3D. It’s "refined-and-ready" nostalgia that reminds you why you fell in love with Universal in the first place.

View this post on InstagramHowever, not every update is getting a standing ovation. In a move that has some late-night snackers feeling the sting, the Burger King Whopper Bar is set to close its doors on April 21. While the replacement is a brand-new Five Guys (slated for this summer), social media is already buzzing with "nugget nostalgia." For many families, those Whopper Bar chicken nuggets were the ultimate post-ride "budget luxury" snack to grab on the way back to the car. While Five Guys is a major quality upgrade for the burger-and-fries crowd, it’s a bittersweet goodbye for fans of that specific "BK" convenience.

Of course, this is all setting the stage for the even bigger changes, like the 2027 arrival of Luke Combs’ Category 10. This massive, three-story waterfront venue is going to bring a whole new energy to the district with live music and spirits inspired by the country superstar’s hits.
Whether you’re stopping in to pay your respects to the Jaws props or grabbing one last Whopper, this week is a reminder that even a year after the portals opened at Epic, Universal is still a work in progress—balancing the high-tech future with the soulful, retro "Legacy" that keeps us all coming back.

You Can Now Win a National Geographic Expedition to Alaska or the Galápagos Worth Up to $60,000
If you’ve ever found yourself scrolling through travel photos and pausing on a shot of a blue-hued glacier in Alaska or a giant tortoise in the Galápagos, you’ve probably done the "price tag math." National Geographic-Lindblad Expeditions are the gold standard of travel, but with prices often starting north of $7,000 to $11,000 per person, they usually stay firmly in the "someday" or "lottery win" category for most of us.
But this month, that "someday" could actually be 2026.
As part of Disney’s “Step into Wonder” Earth Month campaign, National Geographic has officially opened its annual sweepstakes, and the prize is exactly the kind of bucket-list journey you’ve likely been eyeing for years.

- Alaska’s Coastal Glaciers: An eight-day expedition through the fjords and wilderness of the Last Frontier. This isn't your standard "big ship" cruise; you’ll be on a specialized vessel designed to get into the remote nooks and crannies where whales and bears are the only locals.
- The Galápagos Islands: A 10-day deep dive into the volcanic sanctuary that inspired Darwin. You’ll be snorkeling with sea lions and walking alongside species that literally exist nowhere else on Earth.

What makes a National Geographic trip a "dream" experience is the access. You aren't just left to your own devices with a map; the prize includes traveling with a full team of experts. We’re talking naturalists, historians and world-class photographers who are there to help you finally master your camera settings while a blue-footed booby poses five feet away.
The prize package is all-inclusive, covering:
- Two double-occupancy cabins (so you can bring the whole family or your three best friends).
- Round-trip airfare and transfers.
- All meals and excursions listed on the itinerary.
Because this is a "daily entry" sweepstakes, your odds are better if you make it a habit. You can enter once a day at natgeo.com/earthmonthsweeps starting today through April 30, 2026.
And if you need a little more "expedition energy" to fuel your daily entries, Disney+ has released its Earth Month Collection, featuring the new series Secrets of the Bees and the upcoming Disneynature film Orangutan (premiering April 22).

1980 Soft Rock Smash Became a Chart-Topping Phenomenon
In 1980, a soft-rock smash became a chart-topping phenomenon, becoming one of the biggest hits of the era and creating a defining moment in pop music history.
"Ride Like the Wind" by Christopher Cross captured the breezy, polished sound that defined an era. The breakout hit propelled him to stardom and dominated radio airwaves across the country.
The song hit No. 2 on the Billboard charts in April of 1980 and remained on the charts for 22 weeks. It was further elevated by backing vocals from Yacht Rock legend Michael McDonald, one of the genre's most defining voices.
However, the song had a surprising backstory that few listeners knew about when they first heard it.

According to Cross's interview with Songfacts, the driver-friendly singalong song was in fact, written in a car. However, he had some help from an illegal substance to help him develop the lyrics.
"We were living in Houston at the time, and on the way down to Austin to record the songs, it was just a beautiful Texas day," Cross admitted. "I took acid. So I wrote the words on the way down from Houston to Austin on acid."

He added, "I grew up with a lot of cowboy movies. Serials and stuff, like The Lone Ranger and these cowboy serials, where they were always chasing the bad guy. And I lived in San Antonio near Mexico, so there was always this anarchistic allure about if you could get to Mexico, you could escape the authority."
Cross concluded, "Also, Mexico was a place where you could go down there and drink and do all this debauchery that as a kid, you think sounds really cool. So getting to the border in Mexico was a fascinating thing to me."

The connection to Michael McDonald came through Christopher Cross’s producer, Michael Omartian. After McDonald contributed backing vocals to Cross’s “I Really Don’t Know Anymore,” he was invited back into the studio to lend his voice to “Ride Like the Wind.”
"Ride Like the Wind" dominated the 23rd GRAMMY Awards, winning all of the major categories. Cross became the first singer and songwriter to sweep Album of the Year, Record and Song Of The Year, and Best New Artist.
The song is also poised for a resurgence with a younger audience after being featured in the trailer for the upcoming season of Euphoria, starring Zendaya. Cross even shared the moment on his official Facebook page.
Christopher Cross is actively touring throughout 2026. He is embarking on a major North American summer tour with Toto and The Romantics.

Spiritual Psychologist Reveals: This Is What It Means if You Keep Seeing Deer Outside
You don't have to be deeply spiritual to recognize that the universe is full of signs. Whether you became more attuned to them after losing a loved one or you're simply open to the possibility of these special, otherworldly signals, there are plenty of them just waiting to be found as you go about your business on a daily basis. Most of these signs have symbolic meaning behind them, and Parade was particularly curious to know what it means if you keep seeing deer outside, so we consulted a spiritual psychologist to weigh in on the topic.
On our quest for answers, we chatted with Dr. Marina A. Smirnova, Ph.D., a full professor of psychology and the director of Consciousness, Spirituality and Integrative Health (CSIH) Specialization at Saybrook University. She is especially fascinated by contemplative spirituality, mystical and esoteric traditions, and contemplative practices. The psychologist also has expertise in the following areas: dream studies, transpersonal psychology, personal mythology and altered states of consciousness.
Thanks to Dr. Smirnova's insight below, you'll gain a better understanding of the beautiful symbolism that deer can carry with them. You may even begin to appreciate their presence more once you realize the spiritual meaning of a deer sighting outside of your house.

Have you ever noticed that you tend to see certain signs and symbols at just the right moment in your life? For instance, if you're missing a loved one, a red cardinal might appear to show you that they're still here with you, just not physically anymore. It's a similar concept when you keep seeing deer everywhere.
"Seeing a deer is akin to seeing, befriending and being befriended by the healing,
regenerative and numinous powers within and without," Dr. Smirnova states.
The spiritual psychologist says deer symbolize and may elicit "a sense of otherworldly receptivity that seems to lift the veil to some spiritual or transpersonal realities."
"For some experiencers, for instance, deer are liminal creatures who, functionally, serve as 'screen memories' that gently mask numinous encounter experiences with Non-Human
Intelligences (NHIs)," she explains.

What Does It Mean When a Deer Appears Outside Your Home? When a deer appears outside your home, Dr. Smirnova says the animal may serve as a "gentle messenger between the worlds or spiritual realms" since deer have a "liminal presence."
"It offers a heart-centered, healing presence, as well as an abiding sense of belonging and a potent intuitive insight," she shares. "Besides, it often presents us with and leads us towards our own regenerative capacities, fruitful receptivity, medial or magician-like awareness, transformative acumen, self-compassion and willingness to be."

Deer are absolutely a good omen, per Dr. Smirnova.

She notes that deer can transmit and inspire "various ways of knowing," including "the art of sheer being, intention, intuition, embodied presence and telepathy."
