A nostalgic hard-rock outfit is continuing to make waves across the globe.

Dating back to the 1990s, Godsmack has found success time and time again, going multiplatinum and showing up for fans with chart-topping music and countless shows.

On Wednesday, July 29, the powerhouse band announced newly added fall 2026 U.S. dates for their massive Rise of Rock World Tour that's currently underway, with Dorothy joining as direct support and special guest for the October dates.

Godsmack shared the exciting news on Instagram Wednesday, listing the fall tour dates. Check it out below.

One notable date is Saturday, October 24, when Godsmack will return to Mohegan Sun in Connecticut. The venue serves as the namesake of the band’s current live album and film, Live at Mohegan Sun, which is out now.

The tour expansion announcement arrives as Godsmack are currently overseas performing to massive sold-out crowds across the European festival circuit, including this past weekend’s Bulgaria show that drew more than 16,000 fans, further cementing their reputation as one of hard rock’s most powerful and enduring live acts.

Originating in the '90s and evolving into a full-scale rhythmic duel with two drum kits, rotating risers, and unmatched precision, “Battle of the Drums” remains a defining centerpiece of Godsmack’s live show. Now immortalized on Live at Mohegan Sun, the performance honors the chemistry between frontman Sully Erna and Shannon Larkin, celebrates the band’s classic lineup that also includes Tony Rombola and Robbie Merrill — and gives fans the long-requested chance to relive one of Godsmack’s most electrifying moments.

Erna, 58, calls the “Battle of the Drums” performance — a live spectacle perfected over decades — one of the night’s most meaningful moments.

Thanks to PBS, The Count of Monte Cristo is a show on many a mind, but did you know that the original novel by Alexander Dumas was based on true events?

The 1846 novel, which went through its own court battle in the past, has become one of the most beloved stories about revenge and justice. Yet, the original tale is much darker, as it didn’t quite end with a main character realizing that maybe revenge isn’t worth it at all.

Dumas started the novel after coming across memoirs of a Paris police archivist. In those memoirs, he came across the story of a French shoemaker, Pierre Picaud, who was wrongly imprisoned in Italy for seven years. Similar to the protagonist in the novel, Edmund, Pierre’s “friends” were jealous of his engagement to a woman, who happened to be wealthy, and decided to frame him as an English spy.

Yet, while he was imprisoned, he befriended a wealthy Italian priest. The story doesn’t go quite the same way as Edmund’s, who ends up with the map to the hidden treasure thanks to befriending fellow inmate Abbé, but Pierre was left the priest’s fortune after his death.

That offered Pierre the chance to go on a mission of revenge, getting back at the three men responsible for his imprisonment. He didn’t stop with just the men, though. Like Edmund, he targeted the families, but in this case, the younger, innocent members of the families weren’t spared.

At the end of The Count of Monte Cristo, Edmund realizes that revenge may not be what he expected. Innocent people are harmed, and he doesn’t have the heart for that. Yet, Pierre systematically worked through each of his former friends’ families, even going as far as poisoning on purpose and murdering the main conspirator.

The Count of Monte Cristo took a more thoughtful approach with the end, as Edmund finds a way to reunite two young lovers and opts to sail off with his own lover. There’s a moment in the PBS series starring Sam Claflin where there’s a visible change of mind after the death of Villefort’s young son at the hands of Villefort’s wife.

As for the novel, it became a popular story right away. The real-life prison, Château d'If, became a sought-after destination for readers, as they looked for the place where their favorite characters were held for years. Of course, the characters were fictional, but instead of just telling everyone that, the prison guards eventually created fake dungeon cells, which are still part of tours today!

While you can visit the prison relatively easily, the real island of Montecristo isn’t as easy to access. It’s now part of a lottery system, with the Italian government only allowing a few tourists per year to visit it, and the popularity of the island comes from the novel itself.

Tony Iommi, the iconic '70s lead guitarist from Black Sabbath, has just announced his first solo album in 21 years. The exciting news was shared on Wednesday at a global streaming event in Birmingham, England, thrilling longtime fans.

The new album, titled From the Dark, is slated for release on October 23, marking his first full-length solo project since 2005 when he dropped Fused. From the Dark will consist of eight brand-new songs, along with "Scent of Dark" and "Deified," previously released tracks from 2021 and 2024, which will serve as CD bonus tracks.

Iommi partnered up with vocalist and past collaborator Jørn Lande to create the upcoming project. The pair had previously performed together at the 2010 High Voltage festival in London while honoring the legacy of the late Ronnie James Dio. Lande worked closely with the Black Sabbath legend while he was composing the material, helping to pen the lyrics on many songs.

While announcing the record, the guitarist shared his enthusiasm for the project, expressing his excitement for fans to hear it. “It's an album we've really enjoyed making," Iommi said. "We're not trying to prove anything—it's a great album, it rocks!”

Accompanying the record announcement is a music video for its lead single, "World Alone." The seven-minute-long video features a man venturing through a dystopian terrain in an attempt to find salvation. The fiery lead song sets a heavy, atmospheric tone for the upcoming release, offering fans a powerful taste of Iommi's return. The music video is currently available for viewing on YouTube.

Giuliana Rancic is giving fans exactly what she promised with her recollection of the "devastating" split from actor Jerry O’Connell in 2004. The entertainment reporter claims the actor downplayed their romance and is revealing insights into what went wrong,

After O'Connell appeared on Kelly Ripa's Let's Talk Off Camera, having a "fuzzy" recollection of how he broke up with Rancic in 2004, Rancic promised fans a deep dive into her version of events. The actor admitted that he likely did break up with Rancic over his condo intercom, and that he had a woman in his residence at the time.

Rancic claimed on the Bill and Giuliana podcast that O'Connell was "downplaying what [their] relationship was" during his interview. The actor made it appear that his relationship with Rancic wasn't too serious and, at one point, even mentioned that they didn't have keys to each other's homes. For Rancic, her recollection of the year-long romance was the exact opposite.

“For a year and a half — except for the one breakup — we were together 24/7 every day, every night,” she explained “You could listen to his interview and think maybe this was an easy relationship, he was dating a bunch of girls, but no. It was a real relationship.”

She adds that the two were inseparable and would say "I love you" to each other all day long. The relationship, by all accounts, was "perfect" and "totally fine" up until O'Connell jetted off to London to film a movie. What movie was it? According to his filmography, it was Fat Slags that he also starred in with Spice Girls member Geri Halliwell. Photos of the two holding hands soon started circulating.

“It was, like the most shocking moment of my life,” Rancic remembered of seeing the photos. “I walked into a voiceover booth and fell to the ground, crying hysterically. It was awful. So upsetting and so devastating.”

Rancic saw it as a horrible blow and picked up the pieces of what she thought was a "perfect relationship." She also called O'Connell after seeing the photos, only for him to admit, "Yeah, sorry. I don’t know what to tell you. I screwed up." The couple would reconcile after O'Connell reportedly cried, wanting her back and admitting what happened was the "biggest mistake" of his life.

Their relationship would take another hit after the Maxim Hot 100 party when Rancic couldn't get in touch with him after he came back from a work trip. O'Connell had become "dismissive" and "cold as ice" and broke up with her at his condo, but not over the intercom. The actor had actually stepped out onto his balcony to end their relationship, with Rancic revealing she had no idea about the other woman until his interview.

Rancic called the split "devastating, heartbreaking, humiliating [and] traumatizing," but admits that “Everything happens for a reason. We are both happily married now, both have great families and we are both exactly where we’re meant to be.”

General Foods helped fuel the craze by publishing cookbooks like The New Joys of Jell-O in 1973, encouraging home cooks to think far beyond the familiar bowl of cherry gelatin. At the same time, community cookbooks, women's magazines, and church recipe collections embraced molded salads and savory gelatin creations as modern, convenient dishes that stood out on a buffet table. What seems strange today once represented the cutting edge of entertaining.

Tomato soup and Jell-O don't sound like natural partners, but Tomato Aspic was once considered a sophisticated addition to dinner parties and holiday spreads.

Unlike fruit-based molds, this savory creation combined tomato juice or soup with unflavored gelatin, vinegar, celery, onions and seasonings before being chilled into an elegant ring or loaf. Once you've come to terms with the idea of tomato Jell-O, tuna suspended inside a translucent ring mold somehow feels like the next logical step.

Ring Around the Tuna paired canned tuna with chopped vegetables and creamy ingredients before encasing everything in lemon or lime Jell-O. Designed to be made ahead and unmolded just before serving, it transformed an everyday sandwich filling into what cookbook writers considered an elegant buffet centerpiece. The recipe made its debut in the original 1963 The Joys of Jell-O cookbook, but reached its height of popularity during The Me Decade.

Florida Seacoast Salad was a recipe from the 1973 The New Joys of Jell-O cookbook that blended seafood with cooked vegetables and flavored gelatin to create a chilled molded salad designed for warm-weather entertaining. Like many recipes of the era, appearance mattered as much (if not more) than flavor. Decorative ring molds and carefully arranged garnishes turned everyday ingredients into colorful centerpieces intended to impress guests.

Looking back, it's easy to wonder who first decided seafood belonged in gelatin. But during the 1970s, recipes like this reflected the growing popularity of make-ahead dishes that could be prepared before guests arrived and still make a dramatic presentation.

Not every bizarre Jell-O creation of the 1970s was actually born in the decade. Perfection Salad first appeared decades earlier, but it found new life during the Jell-O mold-fascinated 1970s, when home cooks embraced gelatin as a way to transform almost anything into an eye-catching centerpiece.

Typically made with shredded cabbage, carrots, celery, green peppers, and lemon gelatin, Perfection Salad was marketed as a lighter, more elegant alternative to traditional tossed salads. To modern eyes, coating crisp vegetables in a shimmering layer of Jell-O may seem anything but perfect. But during the 1970s, it fit right in alongside countless molded creations that prized presentation just as much as flavor.

Ozzy Osbourne's legacy is heading to Halloween Horror Nights, but not exactly in the way you might expect.

Universal Studios is paying tribute to the heavy metal icon with two new haunted houses inspired by his solo career, giving fans a chance to step inside some of the darker, stranger worlds created by the "Prince of Darkness."

"Ozzy Osbourne: Prince of Darkness" will open at Universal Orlando Resort on Aug. 28 and Universal Studios Hollywood on Sept. 3.

The all-original haunted houses will take guests on a twisted journey through roughly 45 years of Osbourne’s solo career, with his music and visual style serving as inspiration throughout the experiences.

At Universal Studios Hollywood, the haunted house begins in Birmingham, England, where Osbourne was born. From there, guests will travel through different eras of his career, starting with "Crazy Train" before entering the Osbourne Asylum, inspired by his 1981 album Diary of a Madman.

Along the way, fans will encounter different versions of Osbourne, including Madman Ozzy, Werewolf Ozzy and the Prince of Darkness.

Universal Orlando is taking a somewhat different approach, sending guests through ancient ruins and ominous dungeons before they board the "Crazy Train." The experience draws inspiration from album imagery, including Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, The Ultimate Sin and Black Rain.

The haunted houses will feature music from across Osbourne’s solo catalog, including Blizzard of Ozz, Diary of a Madman, Bark at the Moon, No More Tears, Scream and Ordinary Man.

Sharon and Jack Osbourne said the experience brings the spirit of Ozzy’s music and imagination to life in a way they believe he would have enjoyed.

"Ozzy never stopped pushing boundaries, and he loved anything that gave fans a new way to experience his music and the worlds he created," they jointly said in a statement.

"Halloween Horror Nights has done an incredible job bringing that spirit to life. Walking through these haunted houses, you'll recognize so many moments inspired by his music and imagination. It's a wonderful tribute to Ozzy, and we hope fans have as much fun experiencing it as he would have had seeing it come together."

"The Prince of Darkness" died on July 22, 2026, at age 77, making the Halloween Horror Nights tribute an especially poignant celebration of the music and imagination he left behind.

The Lindsay Clancy trial has offered a closer look at what happened inside the Duxbury, Massachusetts, home where her three children were killed in January 2023.

While some evidence has been presented in court, the 911 call made in the aftermath of the children's deaths was not played publicly. However, a transcript of the emergency call provides a glimpse into what was reported to dispatchers as the horrifying scene began to unfold.

Clancy, a former labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, is facing three counts of first-degree murder in connection with the deaths of her children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. Her husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands at the time of the alleged killings.

Clancy has pleaded not guilty. Her defense has argued that she was experiencing postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions at the time.

On Wednesday, July 29, the 911 call was played for the jury, but was blocked from the public. A reporter inside the courtroom transcribed the call and posted it on social media. The transcript appears below. Please note that its contents may be disturbing to some readers.

As the trial continues, the 911 call is just one of several pieces of evidence jurors will hear as they consider what happened inside the Clancy family's home on Jan. 24, 2023. The transcript provides a glimpse into those chaotic moments, while the broader question of Clancy's mental state and whether she was criminally responsible remains at the center of the trial.

Jane Leeves skyrocketed to fame on Frasier, but the star is opening up about the Sex and the City actor who almost got the role instead.

Leeves, 65, is best known for her role as Daphne Moon on the beloved sitcomFrasier, which ran from 1993 to 2004. Starring alongside Kelsey Grammer, David Hyde Pierce, John Mahoney, and Peri Gilpin, Leeves became a TV staple in the long-running series as the live-in housekeeper and physical therapist for Mahoney's character, Martin. But the British star just appeared on Valerie Bertinelli’s “Still Hot in Cleveland” podcast and revealed that another famous name almost scored the coveted role.

“My agent said to me, ‘There’s some interest in you for this spin-off from Cheers,” Leeves said, Page Six reported. “And I loved ‘Cheers’, so I was like, ‘Well, I’m not taking these two shows. I want to read for that.”

“So, it was sort of rushed because they said, ‘Well, you have to see her now if you’re interested because she’s got these two other offers,'” the actress recalled. However, when she got to the audition, Cynthia Nixon was already there reading for the part. Nixon, of course, went on to score the role of Miranda Hobbes on Sex and the City.

Leeves was asked to return to read with Grammer.

 “The next day I went in and I remember sitting on the steps outside, and this red Corvette came flying in and out jumped this beach boy looking guy, and I [was like], ‘Oh my god, It’s Kelsey Grammer,” said Leeves, who is more stunning than ever these days with long, blonde hair.

What Is Jane Leeves Up To These Days?

While Leeves didn't return for the Frasier reboot that hit airwaves in 2023, she's got plenty on her plate these days. She starred in Hot in Cleveland and Fox’s The Resident, and has two children with her husband, Marshall Coben, an executive at CBS Paramount Television. Jared Leto has been accused of criminal sexual conduct by four women, which is documented in the new BBC documentary, Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret. The four women say the assault took place when they were all teenagers.

In response, Leto has released a statement, denying all allegations.

"I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” the actor told Page Six on Wednesday, July 29, calling the claims “absolutely and categorically false.”

In the story by the BBC, one woman alleges that Leto had underage sex with her at his house in California when she was 17 years old.

“I had mentioned to him that my dad was in law enforcement. That I knew with certainty that here in California the age of consent is 18. He just kind of shrugged it off like it wasn’t a huge concern for him," she told BBC documentary director Alice McShane.

Another woman says she was sexually assaulted by the actor in a motel bathroom when she was 17 years old, while a third says Leto threatened to sexually assault her when she was 19 and was alone with him in a hotel room. As for the fourth woman, she says Leto groomed her and made sexually explicit phone calls to her when she was only 16. She was later asked to sign an NDA, which she did not do.

Four other women also allege in the documentary that they received sexually explicit phone calls from Leto.

This is not the first time Leto has been accused of sexual misconduct, with a June 2025 report from Air Mail detailing nine women who say the actor engaged in inappropriate behavior.

When “Enter Sandman” was first written, it was a much darker story than it currently is. James Hetfield even initially argued not to change the lyrics.

The Metallica hit is now one of the most well-known tracks from the band, becoming just the second to hit the Billboard Top 100. It peaked at No. 16 in the United States, although it would hit the No. 5 spot in the UK.

However, that may not have happened had Hetfield not listened to producer Bob Rock and drummer Lars Ulrich. While it’s now a twisted bedtime story that focuses on a child’s night terrors, it was originally a story about Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS). The lyrics were considered too dark for Rock and Ulrich, and while Hetfield initially argued back, he did go back to the drawing board to bring us this iconic track.

It wasn’t the only thing Ulrich helped to change on the track. Guitarist Kirk Hammett woke up at 3 a.m. to create the legendary riff, but he originally only played the riff once before moving on. Ulrich convinced him that it should be played three times before going into the fourth part, creating a bounce. It’s hard to even imagine it the original way, and Hammett even shared the original version in 2023.

“Enter Sandman” started with the riff, as the band explained in the 2023 interview above. Hetfield shared that he figures out where the guitar isn’t, so he can put in the lyrics, sharing, “You simply the riff so the vocal has its place to jump around.”

Working together, they got a “three repeats and then a tail, and then you have a workable riff.” In the end, it became a group project, and it goes to show that you don’t need to know how to play guitar to know how a track goes together well.

Since the initial release in 1991, the track has left and reentered the mainstream tracks multiple times. It remains one of Metallica’s biggest hits, with Mariano Rivera using it as his entrance song for the New York Yankees, despite not even liking the band or heavy metal!

When first released, though, it only made it to No. 16 on the Billboard Top 100. That was an achievement in itself, as it was only the second track by the heavy metal band to make it onto the mainstream charts, following “One” in 1989, which only reached No. 35. 

Internationally, it became a much bigger hit, making it into the Top 10 across multiple countries, including Australia, UK, Canada, and Finland, where it reached the No. 1 spot.

A grim silver lining in the deeply tragic case of Lindsay Clancy and the death of her three children is that it's putting a condition that's rarely discussed in the spotlight: Postpartum psychosis.

On Jan. 24, 2023, while her then-husband, Patrick Clancy, was out running errands, Lindsay allegedly killed their three young children in the basement of their Duxbury, Mass., home, then attempted to die by suicide by jumping out of a second-story window. Lindsay survived, but is paralyzed from the waist down.

Lindsay, a former labor and delivery nurse at Massachusetts General Hospital, is on trial for three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.

Lindsay's defense argues that she is not criminally responsible for the deaths of her children because she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time she killed them.

While postpartum depression and postpartum anxiety were once taboo despite being common—roughly one in five women will be diagnosed with one or both—mothers and birthing persons have grown more comfortable discussing maternal mental health in recent decades.

Postpartum psychosis, however, is rare, impacting just one to two in 1,000 childbearing individuals, and it remains largely undiscussed—even though it often co-occurs with postpartum depression and anxiety.

"There can absolutely be overlap. Someone experiencing postpartum psychosis may also appear extremely anxious, agitated, depressed or even suicidal," perinatal psychologist Dr. Jana Rundle, PsyD., tells Parade. "But postpartum psychosis is not a more severe form of postpartum depression or anxiety. It is a distinct condition involving a loss of contact with reality. While postpartum depression is characterized by low mood or loss of interest in things that used to bring joy, postpartum psychosis is characterized by episodes of confusion, delusions, disorganized thinking and seeing and hearing things that aren't there."

"A person can experience both depression and psychosis at the same time, just as someone can have diabetes and high blood pressure at the same time," Dr. Rundle explains. "The conditions can exist in the same person and affect one another, but they are still distinct conditions with distinct treatments."

What Is Postpartum Psychosis?

"Postpartum psychosis is a psychiatric emergency that develops when a person's way of managing intense emotions and stress breaks down, leading to a loss of contact with reality that can lead to an inability to care for the infant or oneself," Dr. Laura Dabney, MD, board-certified psychiatrist, tells Parade. "Because symptoms can progress rapidly and impair judgment, postpartum psychosis is treated as a psychiatric emergency even when the person has no prior psychiatric history."

What Are Postpartum Psychosis Symptoms?

According to Dr. Susan Hatters Friedman, MD, MSt, DFAPA, forensic and reproductive psychiatrist and professor of forensic psychiatry at University Hospitals, the first symptoms of postpartum psychosis typically appear in the first weeks after delivery when mothers are home with their infants.

"The range and sudden onset of symptoms are part of why postpartum psychosis is of such great concern," Dr. Hatters Friedman emphasizes. "These symptoms often wax and wane. The symptoms of postpartum psychosis occur in multiple domains: psychosis, mood symptoms and cognitive symptoms and insomnia."

Broken down by domain, these are some of the symptoms you may expect to see in someone with postpartum psychosis:

Psychosis

• Losing touch with reality
• Visual hallucinations
• Hearing voices
• Delusions and strange, fixed beliefs
• Paranoia

Mood symptoms

• Agitation
• Anhedonia (not taking pleasure in things you enjoy)
• Anxiety
• Depersonalization (feeling of an out-of-body experience)
• Depression
• Feelings of guilt
• Hypomania (marked, but not extreme, increase in activity and mood)
• Irritability
• Mania (extreme increase in activity and mood)
• Loss of appetite
• Panic
• Speaking very fast
• Suicidal ideation
• Thoughts of self-harm
• Thoughts of harming their child

Cognitive symptoms

• Confusion
• Disorganized speech
• Disorientation

Insomnia

• Hyperactivity
• Not feeling a need for sleep

What Are the Delusions of Postpartum Psychosis?

According to Dr. Rundle, delusions for people with postpartum psychosis can vary, but are often paranoid, persecutory or spiritual in nature.

"For example, a mother may suddenly believe that her partner is trying to harm her or the baby, even when there is no evidence of danger and the partner is trying to help," Dr. Rundle says. "It is also common for delusions to have a religious or spiritual theme. A mother may believe that she or her baby is divine, that she is receiving special messages or instructions from God, or that evil spirits have taken over members of her family. Of course, having religious beliefs is not itself a symptom of psychosis. The concern is when these beliefs represent a sudden and dramatic change or seem out of character for the person."

Does Postpartum Psychosis Go Away?

Postpartum psychosis, if treated, can go away within weeks. Treatment varies by patient, but postpartum psychosis generally requires inpatient care at a hospital or mental healthcare center, and can involve mood stabilizers, antipsychotic medications, lithium, anti-seizure drugs or electroconvulsive therapy.

If it's untreated, however, it can last for weeks or months while also growing more severe, which is why it's crucial to get help.

That said, it's important to understand the stigma associated with postpartum psychosis and the fact that someone who has it may or may not realize that they need help—and may be scared of losing custody of their child or children.

"She may lack insight due to the severity of the symptoms, and she may feel like she's putting the baby at risk by acknowledging them," Mitchell explains.

Dr. Hatters Friedman concurs, saying, "They know that the world is suddenly confusing and that they are hearing voices or having unusual scary experiences. This would be an understandably scary experience. Many people, as you would imagine, try various ways to get rid of symptoms, and try to cover up that they are having symptoms, out of fear of being stigmatized, out of fear of losing their children."

Who Is Most Likely To Get Postpartum Psychosis?

"The cause of postpartum psychosis is not fully understood, but is most likely related to genetic factors, a steep drop in reproductive hormones like estrogen after childbirth, stress and sleep deprivation," board-certified psychiatrist Dr. Susan Zink, MD, tells Parade. "Some research also points to inflammation as a possible contributor. Women with a personal or family history of bipolar disorder are at higher risk, and in some cases, postpartum psychosis turns out to be the first sign of underlying bipolar disorder."

Dr. Dabney adds that not all of the factors that play into postpartum psychosis risk may be physical or genetic.

"While certain individuals may have a biological vulnerability, I also think it's important to recognize childbirth as one of life's most profound psychological transitions," she says. "Becoming a parent often reactivates unresolved emotional conflicts from one's own childhood. It's not uncommon for mothers or fathers to find themselves re-experiencing feelings, fears or relationship patterns that originated when they were the same developmental age as their child is now. For someone who has underlying conflict with their emotions and unresolved childhood stressors, that convergence of overwhelming stress, disrupted sleep and resurfacing emotional conflicts may contribute to a psychiatric crisis."

What Are the Early Warning Signs of Postpartum Psychosis?

The first red flag for postpartum psychosis isn't necessarily personality or mood changes, according to Rod Mitchell, MC, MSc, registered psychologist.

"The first sign of postpartum psychosis is usually regarding sleep," Mitchell explains. "A woman who can't sleep even when someone else has the baby, two or three nights running, needs to be seen that day."

Dr. Dabney adds, "Loved ones may notice severe insomnia despite exhaustion, increasing confusion and memory problems, inability to take care of oneself, persistent suspiciousness and having odd, distorted beliefs."

Others will likely notice or outwardly recognize a problem before the patient does.

"The point is not to wait for the person suffering to recognize, or agree to, the problem because any rapid decline in thinking, judgement or ability to function can be dangerous to the mother, child and other family members and thus requires immediate psychiatric evaluation," Dr. Dabney explains.

What Is the First Line Treatment for Postpartum Psychosis?

If you believe you or someone you love may be suffering from postpartum psychosis, it is crucial to get help immediately.

Treat postpartum psychosis as an emergency

Mitchell advises, "Treat it as an emergency—go directly to the hospital emergency department and say the words 'postpartum psychosis' at triage."

If the person you suspect has postpartum psychosis refuses to get treatment, you still have options.

"If a mother is at home, will not willingly consent to treatment, and someone suspects postpartum psychosis, the safest next step is to call 911," Dr. Rundle says. "When calling, be very specific: 'She recently gave birth, has barely slept, is confused or expressing beliefs that are not based in reality, and we are concerned about postpartum psychosis.'"

Do not leave the mother alone, with or without her baby, under any circumstances.

Mitchell and Dr. Rundle each advise having someone stay with the mother and to have another trusted adult care for the baby.

Ensure a safe, soothing environment

"Keep the environment as quiet and calm as possible. Remove anything that could be used impulsively, including firearms, medications, car keys or sharp objects," Dr. Rundle urges.

Do not argue or try to rationalize with someone who is in active postpartum psychosis.

"Avoid arguing with her delusions or trying to convince her that what she believes is not real. Instead, respond to the fear," Dr. Rundle suggests. "It can be helpful to say, 'That sounds incredibly scary. I'm going to stay with you while I get us some help.'"

In the emergency room, make sure the postpartum psychosis patient also gets a physical medical evaluation

"Postpartum psychosis usually represents a psychiatric emergency. These mothers should be urgently psychiatrically evaluated," Dr. Hatters Friedman says. "They should also be medically evaluated—since there are medical complications of delivery which may appear to present with similar symptoms. I've seen women, for example, who initially appeared to have postpartum psychosis, but when medical testing was done, instead had a medical complication of delivery needing urgent medical treatment. In the emergency room, they can have both an urgent psychiatric evaluation and medical evaluation."

Before Fleetwood Macwas the band lineup fans came to love, Lindsey Buckingham developed a track alongside Stevie Nicks, "Monday Morning," that became one of the group's underrated gems.

Fleetwood Mac underwent several lineup changes before assembling the roster that would become one of rock's most iconic. Christine McViejoined the band in 1970, while Buckingham and Nicks came aboard in late 1974 after performing as the duo Buckingham Nicks. Together, the five members recorded the multi-platinum self-titled album Fleetwood Mac, which launched the band's most successful era.

"Monday Morning" is one of the underrated gems from the album, which was originally written while Buckingham and Nicks were still their own act. It was meant to be a part of their second LP, but the album never happened as their record label dropped them before they could get it started.

“It was very interesting because Stevie and I had done the Buckingham Nicks album,” said Buckingham on Deep Hidden Meaning Radio. “And in the meantime we’d been writing material for a second album, even though we didn’t have a [record] deal anymore. And we didn’t know where it was going to go. And ‘Monday Morning’ was one of those songs.

He added that a majority of tracks that appeared on the album were already demoed before joining the band or even meetingMac Fleetwood. At the time, the band was putting out more blues tracks, and Buckingham admitted there was some wariness about the track moving away from the genre. The track was distinctly different from their other hits, as the guitarist explained to Billboard, "If you go all the way back to before Stevie and I joined Fleetwood Mac, the application of guitar was a lot more prevalent."

Unknown to him at the time, "Monday Morning" would become a reflection of the early dynamic that would later become the hallmark of the band's image. Nicks and Buckingham were together when he developed the track, and amid struggles with their LP, tensions rose.

“Stevie and I, through our struggles with Buckingham Nicks, had had personal problems and had broken up and gotten back together, and she was being a bit fickle about things. And the song really was just addressing the fact that maybe on Monday everything was great, but by Friday things weren’t so great. As can be the case with relationships in general," he explained.

The song became the opening track for the album and became a "herald of what became one of the big attractions of the band." Between affairs, breakups, recorded fights, and relationship drama, Fleetwood Mac were known as a "living soap opera."

Critics called the track one of the best cuts from the album and a "brilliant opener" from Buckingham. The track itself was never released as a single and didn't enter the charts.

Another month is here, and August is a bit of a sad one. It means the end of the summer is closing in. The good news is there are books to help us cope, whether you’re in the mood for something perfect for Summerween, or you need a romance to make your heart happy.

It’s never easy to cut down a list to just nine books to check out. I look at each publication date to pick a mixture of genres and styles to make sure there’s something for everyone.

There are some authors who are an immediate yes regardless of what the book entails. Riley Sager is one of those authors, and his new novel The Unknown is out on Aug. 4, 2026. This is Sager’s 10th novel, marking a huge milestone for the horror mastermind.

The Unknown is a ghost story, initially set in 1926. Five women disappear from a remote Vermont island, and then 100 years later, it all happens again. Marin Keane is a struggling actress, who has to go on a weeklong research trip to a deserted island for her upcoming role. However, as she and her fellow castmates head to the island, strange events and sounds start happening, but it’s even scarier when disappearances start occurring. What is lurking on this island?

Do you need something a little more lighter in genre? How about something with an element of fantasy and mystery? Time Travel for Beginners is the new novel from Jaclyn Moriarty, yes, the sister of Liane Moriarty. We get a story that literally involves time travel, but there are elements grounded in reality, and it’s out on Aug. 4, 2026.

It all starts with three characters connected to the Time Agency. Anna is a single mother who has been offered a job at the agency, while Teddy is a customer hoping to fix his marriage that has recently imploded. Then there’s Jad, who despises the agency for its false hopes. Together, they are pulled into twists and turns, as secrets unfold and they all learn the smallest thing in life can have the biggest effect.

If you’re looking for something that has more of an A Court of Thorns and Roses feel, then you’ll want to turn to Taylor J. LaRue’s debut, Steelborn. This romantasy is backed with action, adventure, and love, and is also out on Aug. 4, 2026.

Reya Connery is the Crimson Dagger, the most notorious thief in the whole of Rhiterra. She has strict rules that she follows, but when Caelan Halcyon enters her life, she may rethink it all. Caelan is an immortal warrior, but there’s a curse inching toward his heart that could actually kill him. He needs a fabled cure, and that means turning to the Crimson Dagger to help him steal it. The two are taken to the edges of their world, and secrets could change everything.

If you love mysteries and really getting into the problem solving, then you’ll want to check out Codebreakers: A Wordhunter Mystery by Stella Sands. This sequel to Wordhunter is out on Aug. 11, 2026, but it can be read as a standalone novel if you didn’t get the first one — I highly recommend the first one!

Codebreakers follows Maggie Moore and Detective Jackson, who are now operating their own agency. They use forensic semiotics and old-fashioned detective work to uncover a sadistic criminal who is preying on men. Old friends and bad guys come out of the woodwork, as we get to solve the puzzles along with the duo. If you love Dan Brown’s Robert Langdon book series, then you’ll adore this one from Sands.

Jasmine Smith is another debut author on the list, and Death Card offers more of a fantasy story with a slow-burn romance built into the pages. It’s perfect for those who love stories that involve witches, tarot, and visions, and is coming out on Aug. 11, 2026.

Mikaela Broussard is an 18-year-old simply living her own life. That is until she gets a shocking reading of her own. As she’s giving a complete stranger a reading in the family occult shop, she envisions the customer stabbing her in the heart. Now, Mikaela needs to understand why this Joelle would want to kill her, and it takes her down a rabbit hole of stolen witchcraft, dark magic, and a mystery that puts lives at risk.

Parade recently shared an exclusive excerpt from Mutual Discord by Liana De la Rosa, and it remains as one of the must-read books of August, especially for romance fans, releasing on Aug. 18, 2026. This is a contemporary romance that touches on misogyny, life-long dreams, and matters of the heart.

After a male co-worker took all the credit for Sofia’s work, she is laid off. She’s not giving up on the world of science, though, as she starts a social media channel that focuses on the women whose contributions in STEM have gone ignored. While her persona online is a secret, Sofia’s best friend’s boyfriend, Alex, knows that it’s her. As the two connect, Sofia realizes that she’s falling for her best friend’s boyfriend, and she needs to find a way to stop.

What if you could rewind the last 24 hours of your life? What would you change? That question comes up in Ideal Life by Evelyn Skye, which is releasing on Aug. 18, 2026. While there are elements of fantasy with the time travel, it’s also grounded in reality and life-provoking questions.

Talia Morgan is living her dream. At least, she was until a glitch in the app she created leads to a catastrophic event that causes her life’s work to crumble overnight. She wakes up with a mysterious watch that allows her to rewind the last 24 hours and now she’s given a chance to fix it all and save her dream. Could she do more than prevent the catastrophe, though? Is this a chance to change more about her life?

Fans of the Young Rich Widows series will be happy to know that the third book is coming out on Aug. 25, 2026. Kimberly Belle, Cate Holahan, and Vanessa Lillie are back with Wicked Wanted Widows, and it’s packed with a treasure hunt, historically-inspired art heists, and much more.

The widows need to break out of jails and into graveyards if they want to save Meredith. It means chasing ghosts, and racing through pirate tunnels. This is packed with action and aventure, and yes, it’s all set in the 1980s, once more. It’s a lot of fun, and perfect for mystery fans. The question is whether life is going to catch up on them this time.

The summer brings feelings of romance and longing, and as we get toward the end of the summer months, we start to think of spooky season. Well, how about combining the two in a cute way? A Taste of Magic by Tricia O’Malley is the follow-up to Love’s a Witch (also worth reading) coming out on Aug. 25, 2026.

Lyra’s magic is suffering misfires when she’s paired with her ex on “Bewitching Bake Off,” Briarhaven’s favorite reality TV show. Curses deepen and old sparks reignite as the MacGregor sisters need to get to the bottom of everything that’s going wrong. This is more than just hoping they have the winning cake!

Cooper Hoffman, the actor son of Philip Seymour Hoffman, is all grown up at the red carpet premiere of his new film with Olivia Wilde.

Cooper, 23, the son of Hoffman and costume designer Mimi O'Donnell, has come into his own as an actor in recent years with roles in Licorice Pizza, Saturday Night, and The Long Walk. But it's his latest role opposite Wilde in I Want Your Sex, which "mixes satire, romantic comedy, mystery and murder," that's getting the most attention. The star hit the Los Angeles premiere of the Magnolia Pictures film alongside Wilde at DGA Theater Complex this week.

"I Want Your Sex tells the story of Elliot (Hoffman), a kind-hearted if unmotivated twentysomething whose fantasies quickly come true when he lands a job with renowned artist and provocateur Erika Tracy (Wilde)," the official website shares. "When Erika breaks down office boundaries and takes Elliot on as her sexual muse and subordinate, their sexually charged relationship makes him question his own desires, boundaries and relationships with his uptight girlfriend (Charli xcx) and repressed roommate (Chase Sui Wonders)."

Is Cooper Hoffman Starring in the X-Men Reboot?

Probably not. Rumors started circulating that Hoffman would take on the role of Cyclops in the X-Men reboot, but the rising star has made it clear he has no idea where that rumor came from.

“Not going to be me, but I love the X-Men. Not for any reason, it’s just not. I don’t know where this came from. S--- spreads!” Hoffman laughed when asked by Entertainment Tonight whether he was set to play Cyclops in Marvel Studios reboot.

Evan Rachel Wood has spoken out about how "sad" she was to not be asked back for Practical Magic 2.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the red carpet premiere of her new series The Shards, Wood opened up about her frustration at being recast in the upcoming Sandra Bullock sequel.

In the 1998 film, Evan Rachel Wood and Alexandra Artrip played Kylie and Antonia Owens, the daughters of Sandra Bullock’s character. In the sequel, Wood is replaced by The Kissing Booth's Joey King, while Artrip’s character is played by Game of Thrones actor Maisie Williams.

“It is sad, because we bonded with that cast so much as children, and so to miss out on the opportunity to look at that cast and look at that house as an adult and see the history in our eyes, it’s something that can’t be faked,” the actor said. “I’m sad that doesn’t get to exist, especially for the fans.” 

The sequel is adapted from Alice Hoffman's The Book of Magic, a follow-up to her novel Practical Magic, which inspired the first movie. Wood suspects the latest film, which is released in September, will not follow the same story.

“I think in the book it would have made sense to bring me back; I think in the way they’re doing it and approaching it, it didn’t make sense," she said when promoting her new show, an adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis' book The Shards.

Wood addressed the re-casting last summer on Instagram. "I am getting asked about this a lot, so l'll just clear it up now;I was not asked to come back and be in the #PracticalMagic sequel. l offered my services, even if it was one scene or one line," she wrote in June 2025. "I was told they are re-casting. I am sorry to disappoint the fans.”

“It was not in my control or my choice,” Wood then shared, before adding, “I would have happily rejoined my sisters."

Sandra Bullock and Nicole Kidman are returning as two witty sisters, alongside Stockard Channing and Dianne Wiest as their aunts. Someone else not returning is Aidan Quinn, who said he would have if asked when interrogated by Irish radio station SPIN 1038.
