Jacob Tremblay, who rose to stardom in the acclaimed 2015 film Room, is all grown up. And in a new Netflix film, he's playing Ted Kaczynski, commonly referred to as "The Unabomber."

Tremblay, 19, skyrocketed to fame alongside Brie Larson in Room, the adaptation of Emma Donoghue's novel about a young woman who has been held captive for seven years and whose five-year-old son was born in captivity. The film earned a bevy of praise and an Academy Award for Larson. While Tremblay has tackled several roles in recent years, it's his upcoming role as Kaczynski that's scoring significant talk around Hollywood. No longer the little boy America fell in love with in Room, Tremblay is officially all grown up. In a new series of stills from the Netflix film, Unabomber, Tremblay's striking transition is right on the TV screen.

The upcoming film tells the story of the man who orchestrated a decades-long mail bombing campaign that killed 3 people and injured 23 more, Netflix's Tudum shared. "Jacob Tremblay stars as the young Ted Kaczynski, with Russell Crowe playing a controversial Harvard professor."

“UNABOMBER is a story about a young man who feels increasingly disenfranchised by society and decides to take up violence as a means of revenge,” director Janus Metz told Tudum. “We crosscut between two timelines, roughly speaking: the making of the Unabomber and the capture of the Unabomber.”

Tremblay added that he was unfamiliar with the story of Kaczynski’s childhood until signing on to play the role.

“I didn’t even know he went to Harvard until I read the script; I think most people don’t,” Tremblay tells Netflix. “But he was a mathematical genius when he was 16. It’s quite fascinating, actually.” 

The film premieres on Netflix on Friday, September 25.

Viewers themselves might have been disappointed by Blue Bloods' abrupt cancellation, but perhaps no one was more frustrated by the show's sudden ending than series star Tom Selleck.

During a recent appearance on Ted Danson’s podcast, Where Everybody Knows Your Name, the 81-year-old Selleck detailed the anxiety-inducing circumstances surrounding Blue Bloods' cancellation back in late 2024.

At the time of its ending, the series had ran for an impressive 14 years on CBS, and, in a rare feat for a mainstream TV series, managed to retain most of its original cast up to its final season in 2024.

Despite how committed the series' stars were to the show, Selleck said it all came to naught when CBS decided to pull the plug on Blue Bloods following its 14th season.

“The real truth to that is in the last year of [Blue Bloods], at our last family dinner, everybody wanted to come back. We’d already taken a 25 percent cut in salary,” Selleck said on the podcast. “We’d already done all sorts of things to keep the show going.”

“It was very frustrating because… out of the top 100 shows on broadcast television, Blue Bloods was number six in our fifteenth year,” Selleck continued to explain. “Nobody wanted to leave. Everybody was gonna stay on. That’s hard to get. It may be some kind of record to have the same cast intact for that length of time. Usually if it wasn’t a family, it would be different, but you know, you couldn’t very well replace Jamie or Danny or anybody with another actor.”

Reflecting on his own time working on the show, Selleck admitted that it was all too rare seeing a TV show where the entire cast got along so well, something that perhaps made Blue Bloods' cancellation all the more difficult to deal with.

“Maybe people don’t realize, but a lot of shows become miserable to work on,” Selleck said. “You get a lot of egos and ‘I’m not coming out of my dressing room until he’s coming out’... and it’s miserable. Blue Bloods was never that.”

One of music's greatest living legends just celebrated a massive accomplishment. Yesterday marked thirty-six years of sobriety for the incomparable Sir Elton John, who celebrated with a glass of zero proof wine.

John is one of the most accomplished musicians of all time, so he is no stranger to achievement. He's one of the only artists ever to achieve an EGOT, which involves winning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. In addition to that, he was ranked 49th out of the top 100 greatest artists ever by Rolling Stone. He's music royalty if there ever was such a thing.

Outside of seeing him under the most dazzling lights imaginable, there's a person who is celebrating something more impressive than all of those achievements, and that's holding himself to sobriety for over three decades. He celebrated yesterday with a post to his social media.

His choice of wine is actually his own non-alcoholic brand of wine, which offers an alternative without skipping out on taste. It's certainly a fitting way to celebrate the accomplishment.

Fans took to the comments to congratulate John on his sobriety, and share some kind words for the legend.

If you’ve ever wanted the extra legroom of a premium seat without paying for perks you don't care about, JetBlue’s latest news might be the ultimate compromise.

Ahead of launching its brand-new domestic first-class cabin, BlueFirst, later this year, the New York-based airline announced a total revamp of how travelers shop for flights. Moving forward, JetBlue is officially unbundling its premium cabins, joining a broader industry trend toward "Basic Premium" fares.

Under the simplified two-step booking model, passengers first pick their onboard experience—Main (formerly Core), EvenMore (extra legroom), BlueFirst (domestic first class), or Mint (lie-flat suites). From there, travelers choose their tier: Base, Standard, or Flex.

The real headline? For the first time, you can now buy a Base version of both EvenMore and BlueFirst seats.

For years, buying a premium ticket meant getting the whole VIP package bundled together: advance seat selection, priority boarding, free changes, and maximum rewards points.

With the rise of "Basic Premium" fare options, airlines are stripping away those extras to offer the physical seat—the extra legroom or front-of-cabin first-class leather—at a lower entry price point.

Here is what booking a BlueFirst Base or EvenMore Base fare actually gets you (and what you give up):

• No Advance Seat Selection: Like a basic economy ticket, you won't get to choose your specific seat ahead of time for free. If you're flying BlueFirst Base, you're guaranteed a first-class seat, but you won't get to pick whether it's an aisle or a window until check-in.

JetBlue isn't the first carrier to strip down first class and premium economy. Legacy airlines like Delta and United have spent the past year experimenting with unbundled business and first-class fares, realizing that a huge demographic of travelers want the physical comfort of a bigger seat without needing flexible ticket policies or extra loyalty perks.

By creating a "Base" tier across almost every cabin, JetBlue gives price-conscious leisure travelers a way to splurge on extra legroom or first class without paying top-tier, fully refundable prices—while giving the airline a clever way to fill premium seats that might otherwise sit empty.

The new shopping system rolls out on JetBlue's website and app over the coming days, with the new BlueFirst domestic first-class cabins set to debut on non-Mint aircraft later this year.

Long before 1968's Beggars Banquet cemented itself as a rock masterpiece, the Rolling Stones were looking for songs to include that captured a raw, earthy, back-to-basics sound.

They found exactly what they were looking for in a song originally composed by Reverend Robert Wilkins, a Mississippi-born bluesman. It was based on an ancient story found in the Bible that had been told for thousands of years.

"Prodigal Son" took the famous biblical tale and wrapped it in gritty acoustic blues. The song was one of the most surprising and memorable moments on a record that was seriously rock and roll.

The track seamlessly blended holy scripture with the blues, proving just how versatile the Stones really were. Driven by Keith's sharp acoustic riffs and Mick’s raspy delivery, the song introduced the ancient parable of the lost son to a whole new generation of listeners.

"Prodigal Son" is the only cover song on the band's seventh album, Beggar's Banquet. Two other standout tracks on the LP include "Sympathy for the Devil" and "Street Fighting Man."

However, while the Stones changed the title to "Prodigal Son," Wilkins’ original version was called “That’s No Way To Get Along.”

The prodigal son is a story in the bible which tells the tale of a wealthy father who gave his younger son his inheritance early, only for the young man to blow every dime on reckless partying. Broke and humbled, the son returns home expecting punishment.

Instead, his overjoyed father threw him a huge feast. That decision infuriated the man's other son, who stayed behind and did everything right. This forced the father to explain that forgiveness is always worth celebrating.

Even if it isn't the flashiest track on Beggars Banquet, "Prodigal Son" shows off just how naturally the Stones could tell a real blues story. With this song, the Rolling Stones laid down a groove that felt straight out of the 1920s.

However, the song was also mired in controversy when early vinyl pressings added Jagger and Richards' names to the writing credit. In a 1969 Rolling Stone Magazine story, it was revealed that the band insisted the oversight was an administrative mistake made during album production.

It wasn't until the album was reprinted in subsequent pressings that the mistake was fixed, removing Jagger and Richards' names from the track's writing credit and adding Wilkins to ensure he got proper credit and royalties.

Rolling Stone revealed that Wilkins was unaware of the recording. Former bluegrass singer Peter Kuykendall told the publication, “[Robert Wilkins] seemed quite happy that people will be hearing his song. It couldn’t bother him that a rock group has done it.”

In the end, "Prodigal Son" is one of those unexpected music moments that makes you appreciate how deep rock 'n' roll's roots actually go. The Rolling Stones took a story everyone thought they knew, gave it some genuine blues soul, and made it their own.

Today co-host Savannah Guthrie's mom, Nancy Guthrie, has been missing for nearly six months—and the Pima County Sheriff's Department just shared a new statement about the investigation.

On Thursday, July 30, the PCSD posted a message via X to mark the milestone as Savannah's 84-year-old mother remains missing.

"This week marks six months since Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home," the post read. "The investigation remains active & ongoing. When a significant development occurs in this case, it will be shared publicly."

In the statement itself, the PCSD echoed, "The Guthrie investigation remains active and ongoing. A task force of investigators from the Pima County Sheriff's Department and the FBI remains committed to finding Nancy and providing answers to her family."

It continued, "The analysis of DNA and digital evidence has been underway for the past six months. This work is complex and time-intensive, but the investigation continues to pursue every credible lead."

This week marks six months since Nancy Guthrie was taken from her home.

Additionally, the PCSD echoed Savannah's most recent Instagram video, during which she urged her mother's captor(s) to "do the right thing" by telling her family where to find Nancy.

"As Savannah Guthrie recently said, it is never too late to do the right thing," the department shared. "Anyone with information is urged to come forward and help bring this case to a resolution."

To conclude the statement, the PCSD urged the public to call 1-800-CALL-FBI or 88-CRIME to share what they know, noting that those who call 88-CRIME can remain anonymous.

Nancy was last seen at her Catalina Foothills home on the evening of January 31. As of writing, no suspect has been named in her case.

When you hear the name Brandi Carlile, a lot of things come to mind, but messy distortion, screaming, and electric guitars typically aren't among them. Carlile's talents often lie in beautifully complex lyrics, acoustic guitars, and powerful piano riffs. But over the weekend of July 24th, Carlile proved she can do both at once—and knock your socks off while doing it.

Carlile recently shared a video clip of her set at the famous Newport Folk Fest, where she covered the iconic Alanis Morissette anthem "Uninvited." But the coolest part is that she did so with an unmistakable Seattle grunge style that left jaws on the floor.

"Unforgettable. That felt like a battle cry. Fearlessly and defiantly leading with love - and not backing down," one fan commented.

"That’s a good old-fashioned face melter," added another.

"May every girl learn to this song and jam this hard," noted another.

Carlile had the pleasure of introducing and inducting Morissette into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June 2026. She even covered the song at the ceremony, but instead of being backed by roaring guitars, she strummed her acoustic alongside some impressive string orchestra players.

Previously, the two unexpectedly collaborated on a performance during Carlile's three-day Mothership Weekend in Miramar Beach, Fla., to honor Olivia Newton-John in 2025. They sang a gorgeous rendition of the Grease hit "Hopelessly Devoted to You." In speaking with Entertainment Tonight, Carlile revealed that the event was actually where the two met and they became "instant friends."

"You know, I come from Seattle in the '90s," she elaborated. "So I grew up in Seattle in the '90s when the grunge movement was sort of ubiquitous. And one thing that wasn't ubiquitous at the time was like a female voice in rock and roll that was like the voice kind of of my generation. And so when Jagged Little Pill came out, it was a revelation. It was a baptism to so many of us that wanted to hear a woman sing like that. And every album that she's followed it up with has just been more and more innovative and outside the box. She's just somebody I really admire specifically as a songwriter, but also as a singer and now a person."

When asked if there was a collaboration between the two powerhouse songwriters in the future, Carlile said she'd be ready "any day" to do it.

While we have yet to get an official collaboration, Carlile's grungy homage to Morissette is a nice filler in the meantime.

The White House has something to say about Noah Kahan, and it isn’t good. 

The Grammy-nominated singer wasn’t exactly thrilled when the administration used his song ‘American Cars’ from the album ‘Great Divide’ as the soundtrack to a social media post featuring Donald Trump’s visit to a General Motors plant in Michigan. After Kahan got news of the unauthorized use, he quickly snapped back, commenting on the post: “Would never approve of my music being used in support of you or this administration.” 

Fans took to Instagram, supporting Kahan with replies including, “Love you Noah. We won’t let the orange guy ruin this song for us!” and “Cease and desist tonight, king?”

While Trump and the White House did remove the audio from the Instagram post, it still remains on TikTok despite Kahan’s criticism. 

But the story doesn’t end there. Now the White House, via Kaelan Dorr, the Deputy Assistant to the President, Principal Deputy Communications Director, Head of Digital Strategy, is clapping back at Kahan. 

In a recent X post, Dorr reshared a Variety article titled, ‘Noah Kahan Slams White House for Using Song in Social Media Post: Would Never Approve,’ adding, “Symptoms of TDS apparently include having a northern attitude.”

The unexpected retort refers to Trump Derangement Syndrome (a fictitious disorder used to explain criticism of the President) and Kahan’s hit track ‘Northern Attitude.’ Kahan has not responded to Dorr’s post, but his fans have. 

Things got heated in the comment section, with Kahan’s supporters blasting the Trump administration: “Ask for permission to use somebody else’s intellectual property. You know better. Now, you just look like you have TDS - Trump Devotion Syndrome”, “It’s easy. Ask the artist for permission to use their songs. If they say yes, off you go. If they say no, then there you are,” and “How about you stop stealing people’s music when they say stop stealing their music?”

Kahan isn’t the first artist to find fault with Trump for unauthorized use of their music. Patrick Clancy's presence in the courtroom has not gone unnoticed.

As the Lindsay Clancy trial continues, Patrick took the witness stand and was questioned for two days. He has openly supported Lindsay, despite being the father of the three children prosecutors allege she killed in January 2023. His continued support has become one of the most closely watched aspects of the trial, particularly as the defense argues that Lindsay was experiencing postpartum psychosis and was not criminally responsible for her actions.

Parade spoke with lawyer Margaret McLean, host of The Margaret McLean Show, about what Patrick's support suggests.

"Patrick Clancy’s support doesn't change the laws of premeditation, but it changes the atmosphere of the courtroom," McLean says. "It strips the prosecution of their emotional centerpiece and forces the jury to look past anger and directly into the terrifying reality of postpartum psychosis."

"To a jury, a grieving father's forgiveness is incredibly powerful. Patrick lived with Lindsay, saw her daily struggles, and witnessed her mental state firsthand," McLean continues. "By publicly forgiving her and stating that she was a loving mother who was 'failed by a broken system,' he provides the defense with its most potent weapon. His support says to the jury: If the person who suffered the most profound loss in this tragedy can see that this was a medical emergency rather than a malicious act, how can we, as strangers, call it murder?"

McLean also explains that Patrick's support "shifts the focus away from his former wife and targets the healthcare providers."

Lindsay's defense team has provided a full list of the medications that she was prescribed in the months after she gave birth to her youngest son, Callan.

"Patrick has previously spoken out about the rapid rotation of heavy psychiatric drugs she was prescribed in the months leading up to the tragedy. His alignment with the defense positions the case not as 'Commonwealth v. Mother,' but rather as 'Family v. Severe Postpartum Psychosis and Overmedication.' It turns the trial into a broader societal conversation about maternal mental health care," McLean adds.

While Patrick's support may shape how jurors view Lindsay's mental state, it is only one piece of a much larger case. Ultimately, the jury must weigh all of the evidence presented during the trial before deciding whether prosecutors have proved Lindsay was criminally responsible for the deaths of Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months—or whether her defense has established that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis at the time of the killings.

On July 29, 1985, Randy Travis released "On the Other Hand" for the first time. It barely cracked the country chart. A year later, re-released as his third single, it hit No. 1.

By the time Travis released “On the Other Hand,” he had already spent nearly 10 years chasing a career in country music. His first singles came out in 1978 under his real name, Randy Traywick. 

“She’s My Woman” peaked at No. 91, and “I’ll Take Any Willing Woman” didn’t chart at all. His big break finally came in early 1985, when he signed with Warner Bros. 

"On the Other Hand" got off to a slow start, reaching No. 67 on the country chart and gaining little traction at radio. Travis quickly turned things around with his next single, "1982," released in December. The song climbed to No. 6, giving his career a much-needed boost.

The problem was that his label was not convinced he had another song good enough to follow it up, so they went back to where it all started.

Warner Bros. re-released "On the Other Hand" as Travis' third single in April 1986. Unlike the first time, the song quickly caught on with listeners, climbing to the top of the country chart by late July. It would be the first of 16 No. 1 singles Travis would earn throughout his career.

The song went on to win Song of the Year at both the CMA and ACM Awards in 1986, with the honors going to songwriters Don Schlitz and Paul Overstreet. Travis also took home the ACM Award for Single of the Year.

Overstreet and Schlitz were actually working on another song when they came up with “On the Other Hand.” 

"We were trying to write the theme for another song. It was the idea that when you have one woman, you shouldn't be looking for another one," Overstreet recalled to Country Weekly. 

"So, right in the middle of the song, we kind of bantered some lines back and forth, and Don said, 'but on the other hand,' and I said, 'there's a golden band.' From that point on, we looked at each other and kind of got that glitter in our eyes and finished it real quick. Then we went to lunch."

It was a quick lunch, but the song they left behind would help launch one of country music's most celebrated careers.

Just as we feared that Fear the Walking Dead was leaving Netflix, there is some exciting and surprising news. Netflix and AMC have made a deal that will see the entire Walking Dead franchise make its way to Netflix globally.

In a way, the decision shouldn’t be surprising news, as The Walking Dead, which has been available on Netflix exclusively in the U.S. since 2011, is one of the biggest shows on the streaming giant. 

It was clear Netflix was happy with the show, as it then gained non-exclusive rights to various other AMC shows, including those within the zombie-filled universe. Fear the Walking Dead, Dead City, and all others slowly migrated across, although they did remain on AMC+ as well. However, fans worried that all eight seasons of Fear the Walking Dead were going to leave Netflix, as the initial licensing deal came to an end.

While the shows proved popular in the U.S., the spinoffs didn’t make their way to Netflix internationally in such a huge way as they will now. Netflix didn’t just spend $500 million on the rights for the United States. These rights will see all 371 episodes of the entire universe head to Netflix globally, while also remaining on AMC+, where that streamer is available.

It will all start with The Walking Dead. Then in 2027, Fear the Walking Dead, Daryl Dixon, Dead City, The Ones Who Live, World Beyond, and Tales of the Walking Dead will all head to the streaming giant around the world. That will be every single episode of every single series. Also in early 2027, The Walking Dead will come to AMC+ in the United States for the first time ever!

In a press release, Vice President of Licensing at Netflix, Lori Conkling, shared, “We're excited to partner with AMC Global Media to continue to expand that access to more audiences around the world and bring the entirety of The Walking Dead Universe to Netflix.”

Kristin Dolan, the CEO of AMC Global Media, continued the sentiments, sharing, “This deal creates a global destination for this universe – all shows, all episodes – making the franchise more accessible than ever to fans around the world. In addition, the co-exclusive agreement allows us to bring the original series to AMC+ for the first time early next year. Netflix has been an important partner in making The Walking Dead one of the most successful franchises in the history of entertainment."

There isn’t a set date for all the shows to arrive in the global locations. Each geographic territory will follow its own plan based on the existing streaming licenses, so it’s important to follow your own “what’s coming” lists.

Don’t worry about this deal expiring quickly, either. While many other licensing deals between the two entities have been for a year, this one is much longer, lasting until 2032! Happy streaming!

In 2019, Mötley Crüe fans got the dirt on the band’s wild rise to fame with the Netflix biopic The Dirt.

Based on Neil Strauss’ book of the same name, the Jeff Tremaine-directed film starred Douglas Booth, Colson “Machine Gun Kelly” Baker, Daniel Webber and Iwan Rheon as Crüe bandmates Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee, Vince Neil, and Mick Mars.

Speaking on Billy Corgan's The Magnificent Others podcast in July 2026, Lee, 63, said he was “one hundred percent” happy with how the movie turned out.

But he also agreed with Corgan’s assessment that the film should have been a miniseries.

“I still can't believe they smashed what that book is based on, what 20 years or so, into an hour and a half,” Lee admitted.

After Corgan said, “This should have been a miniseries… could have been one of the greatest miniseries of all time,” Lee agreed with him.

“I know. God, we messed up,” he said, before laughing as Corgan commented that it would have been great to have a cliffhanger at the end of each episode, such as “Will Tommy be able to pay the rent? Tune in next week.”

“Oh man, that would have been really cool," Lee agreed.

The band didn’t actually mess up. The Dirt, both the book and the movie, brought Motley Crüe legions of new fans.

“We certainly have a lot of dirt, and I think you know, Neil, who's a great writer, I liked his approach at the time,” Lee recalled. “He would have a bunch of sitdowns with each guy separately, not with the band. And what happened doing it that way is literally like, we'd be reading something that Vince said, and I was like, I forgot about that. And so we all sort of reminded each other of things that we had forgotten, or that was extremely blurry.”

“We sort of each reminded each other of how insane it actually was,” he continued. “And then that, of course, inspired the movie and then to visually kind of put that together and see it. That’s where a lot of new young fans came about."

Lee noted that he'd answered countless emails from new fans who couldn't believe the band's wild backstory, which included crazy parties, drugs, women and in-fighting.

"These kids don't know," Lee said. "They have no idea. You know what I'm saying? Like this kid's 17 going like, ‘Is that really how it was?’  And they’ll never ever experience that time. Never. And so their curiosity, they're like, ‘Man, these guys, like what? They're still alive?’”

Lee previously praised all of the actors in The Dirt biopic and revealed it was wild to watch the recreation of the band's backstory.

"All the guys who played us in the movie did just a spectacular job — they really nailed each guy so well, it was mind-blowing,” he told Noise11, per Blabbermout.net. "I remember sitting there watching it with Nikki. While filming in New Orleans, watching the band rehearse, it was so bizarre to just sit there and basically watch yourself rehearse. We just looked at each other, like, 'God, this is f---ing weird.' And then, of course, there's just endless moments of, 'Woah, this is bizarre.' Everybody did such a great job exactly nailing each guy really, really well where it would give you goosebumps.”

I look up and let out an involuntary gasp that echoes into the mic. My knee-jerk, over-the-top expressions betray me again.

Griffin Harvey stands beside me, squinting into the stage lights with a scowl beneath his beard as he tucks his phone into his pocket.

What in the world is he doing here? This isn’t what we practiced at all. The studio goes silent.

I hold my breath. We all do. For one second.

Two. Three.
