According to the Food and Drug Administration, a popular anxiety medication might not be safe to use at the moment. Xanax, which is a fast-acting benzodiazepine that calms the nervous system, has been recalled nationwide.

People reported that “3-milligram tablets of Xanax XR, the brand name for the drug alprazolam, sold in 60-tablet bottles were initially recalled by the distributor Viatris on March 17. On Wednesday, April 15, the pills were recalled nationwide.”

The affected batches were prescribed between August 27, 2024 and May 29, 2025. The pills are part of the lot number 8177156 with the expiration date 02/28/2027. At this time, it is unclear how many bottles were in the recalled lot.

This recall is considered a Class II, which means that “the product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.” Class I is the most severe, indicating that exposure to a product has a high likelihood of causing adverse side effects of death. Class III is the lowest-risk, which indicates the product violates regulations but is unlikely to cause any harm.

Class II falls in between the two, so if you have been prescribed any pills that have been impacted by the recent recall, then you should stop taking them immediately and safely dispose of them. This is ideally done through drug take-back locations, which are typically available at locations like Walgreens and CVS.

Although there have been no known reports of adverse reactions from the recalled lot, the recall is happening out of an “abundance of caution.”

The batch failed dissolution specifications, which means it was not dissolving at the standard rate. According to the FDA, “the dissolution is the test that checks how well a drug dissolves and releases when placed in a liquid. Failure to meet specifications could mean a less effective medication or incorrect dosage.”

Xanax is one of the most widely distributed medications that is used in the treatment of anxiety and panic disorders. Although it can be dangerous and addictive when it is misused, it is generally considered safe when it is taken as directed by a doctor.

‘Poison Study’ Is a YA Adventure for the Masses

Poison Study currently sits in third place on the list of best “Magic, Adventure, Romance” on Goodreads. It’s not that surprising once you get into it. While Yelena is figuring out what’s going on with her own new abilities, we’re also learning more and more about the plots against the Commander of Ixia.

There is clearly something much bigger going on, and we’re left wondering if there is anyone Yelena can trust. Is it possible that the chief of security, who appears to be a psychopath, could actually be the man trying to keep her safe? It’s a YA adventure romantasy for the masses, and there are even more books in the series to continue Yelena’s tale and her love story with Valek.

George Takei was recently spotted enjoying a night out in Los Angeles, which is certainly rare for the beloved Star Trek icon.

In February, actor Karim Diané revealed that George expressed support for his character in Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, the franchise’s first openly gay Klingon. In an email shared with Diané shortly after running into him alongside George, Brad explained the significance of the moment, writing, “For decades, he lived in quiet fear that being openly gay would mean the end of his acting career.”

He continued, “That’s why seeing you step into a queer role—especially in Star Trek, a franchise George holds so dear—is so meaningful to us.”

Mayor of Flavortown Guy Fierihas been making headlines this week, although not for the reasons the Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives star would like to be. At UFC 327 over the weekend, Fieri was seen interacting with brothers Andrew Tate and Tristan Tate, both of whom are under investigation for serious allegations.

The brothers currently face 21 total criminal charges in the United Kingdom (UK), including allegations of rape and assault, and there are separate human trafficking charges in a Romanian case. In light of this, clips of Fieri seemingly having a friendly interaction with the brothers at UFC 327 led to swift and intense backlash online.

Fieri has since issued a statement about the incident, saying that he is "devastated" and explaining, "I was there to see the fights, and when I was walking through the venue, the Tate brothers stood up and said hello, and that’s when the exchanged happened. I did not know them or about them before that moment."

"I’ll never pretend to be a perfect person, but let me be crystal clear, I do not know the Tate brothers nor do I support them in any way," Fieri's statement added.

Amid this controversy, the decision was made to cancel an event with Fieri and Waterloo Sparkling Water that was set to take place in New York City on the evening of the 16th, celebrating their collaboration on three new, limited-time flavors: Apple Pie à la Mode, Coconut Lime Cooler and Root Beer Float. These flavors and this second-year collab between Fieri and the brand were meant to celebrate America 250.

While the flavors will still be rolled out, the collaboration will no longer be formally announced, and the Waterloo Sparkling Water website seems to be scrubbed of any mention of the new drink flavors or the 2026 partnership with Fieri (although articles about previous team-ups with Fieri remain on the site).

The UK trial against the Tate brothers is expected to begin in June 2026.

Do Eyelashes Change as We Age?

Yes, and it's something everyone notices but nobody talks about enough. All five makeup artists confirmed the same thing: lashes absolutely change as you age, and it's completely normal.Scott Barnes, whose clients include Jennifer Lopez and Celine Dion, explains what happens.

"Hair, brows and lashes can become thinner and less dense as women age due to hormonal changes and the hair follicles spending more time in sleep mode than in growth mode," he tells Parade. "Lash color can also fade due to loss of melanin pigment and some women even experience breakage due the natural decline of oil production."

Renée Loiz, who works with Quinta Brunson and Uzo Aduba, gets specific about what changes: lashes can become more sparse, more brittle and the natural curl pattern can change. “You may also start to see a few gray lashes coming in," she adds.

What Is the Best Way for Older Women To Apply Mascara?

Technique matters more than you think—and most women are doing it wrong.

Before you even start, Barnes says to apply your eye cream first (before your moisturizer) so the eye cream has time to sink in and not get on eyelashes. 

Then onto the actual application.

Celebrity makeup artist Avital of Puzzle Makeup, makes a bold claim: with the right technique, you can achieve a great look with 95% of the mascaras already out there. Alright!

Her method is specific and game-changing: before you apply, create space. Gently pull the skin at your temple outward to create more room between your lashes and your eyelid. “This prevents mascara from transferring onto your lid, a game changer for mature skin," she explains.

Then comes the two-pass technique: "Place the body of the brush as close to the roots as possible on the top side of your lashes and brush all the way to the tip. Then flip the brush and repeat from the underside, sweeping upward from root to tip.” She says you'll see the difference immediately: lashes that look longer, thicker and lifted.

Molly R. Stern, who works with Chelsea Handler and Maya Rudolph, has a little extra tip that actually sounds pretty fun. "You really want to wiggle the wand into the base of the lashes.” Not only is this a good time, it’ll give the effect of a defined lash line.

Can You Wear Mascara on Your Bottom Lashes When You're Older?

Yes, but the approach needs to change. The consensus is that bottom lash mascara is fine—encouraged, even!—but requires a lighter hand and sometimes different products.

Avital has a specific recommendation that surprised us. "As we age, the under-eye area changes. More pigmentation, dark circles and puffiness become common, and black mascara on the bottom lashes can draw direct attention to all of those areas.

The fix is simple: switch to a lighter color on your bottom lashes. A soft brown or light brown mascara brings warmth and definition to the eye without creating heaviness underneath.

Her application technique is different too. For bottom lashes, dab, don't brush. Use the body of the wand in light dabbing motions along your bottom lashes for a natural, defined finish.

What Mistakes Do Older Women Make When Applying Mascara?

The most common error? Thinking more product equals better results. Barnes sees women overdoing it constantly.

"They over apply to get impact, often too many layers which get clumpy and flakey," he explains. "They don't use eye makeup remover, so there is still residue from the prior days of mascara. Not only does this lead to clumping and flaking, it is also irritating to the eye and can cause issues such as styes and infections.”

So, not only does it look bad, it can be dangerous. Celebrity makeup artist Jenepher Reynolds, who has worked with Norah Jones and Harry Connick, Jr., agrees and says just do two to three “intentional passes with the right technique” for perfect results. 

Reynolds also thinks that women should never skip using an eyelash curler. "Curling the lashes is one of the easiest ways to lift and open the eyes, yet it is often overlooked. It makes a noticeable difference before mascara is even applied."

And don't forget this pro tip from Barnes: "Do not pump the wand in and out of the mascara tube, that just pushes air into the tube and dries out the product, which will result in flaking and raccoon eyes.” Instead, swivel the wand in the tube to pick up the product and pull the wand directly out of the tube.

The romance series starring Hudson Williams as Shane Hollander and Connor Storrie as Ilya Rozanov has now reached another milestone of success.

Heated Rivalry is based on the book of the same name by Rachel Reid, and Forbes recently reported that it’s become the No. 1 romance book in America. The soundtrack, composed by Québécois artist and composer Peter Peter, has also become the No. 1 soundtrack on iTunes.

With over 10.6 million viewers per episode, Heated Rivalry fans haven’t been able to get enough of the romance series, to the point that some are flocking to Canada to visit some of the filming locations.

The iconic cottage from Episode 6 recently became available on Airbnb, and it’s booked through March 2028. Fans have also been flocking to Heated Rivalry’s hockey rink in Ontario, and other filming locations like Relay Coffee Roasters, which was transformed into Straw+Berry in Episode 3.

While Heated Rivalry’s success was a surprise, it was a welcome one to Reid.

“There have been so many lovely stories that people have shared with me, including athletes — I'd say mostly former hockey players, or other team sports athletes — who felt really seen by the show or by the books,” Reid said in an interview with Q. “Before the show, I got messages like that as well about the books, and I did try to reply to all those, but it's definitely become a lot more difficult to do that. I do appreciate all of them, and I do read them.”

Reid learned that director Jacob Tierney was interested in creating the TV show only days after being diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Because of the success of the show, she was able to receive specialist help with the disease.

“It was nice timing for that news because [the show] gave me something positive to focus on for the next couple of years,” Reid said to Jenna Bush Hager.

Tierney said that there will be more Heated Rivalry truly as soon as humanly possible,” with a targeted April 2027 release. In the meantime, check out a clip from Heated Rivalry’s first season:

The Endless Summer has been listed as one of the greatest films of all time. The 1966 Bruce Brown surf documentary ranked on Rotten Tomatoes’ list of the “best movies of all time,” holding court among classics such as The Godfather, The Wizard of Oz, and Alien.

The Endless Summer followed surfers Mike Hynson and Robert August as they traveled around the world on a surfing trip in search of the perfect wave. The movie was narrated by Brown, and the soundtrack music came from The Sandals.

Described by Turner Classic Movies as a “cinematic time capsule,” the film showcased the 1960s beaches in Malibu, Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Tahiti, Ghana, and Senegal as the two surfers made their pit stops. TCM noted that the film's charm was “derived from its haphazard construction.”

“Shot on 16-millimeter film, with post-synchronized sound, it's a glorified home movie that nevertheless captures a short-lived period in American popular culture,” the outlet shared.

'The Endless Summer' had no budget but made a lot of money

The Endless Summer was self-financed by Brown and cost $50,000 to produce, according to AFI. The filmmaker reportedly hitchhiked to filming sites while carrying his camera gear.

In an interview with The Guardian, Brown revealed that he stretched his budget when he started working on the film in late 1963.

“Originally, we were going to go only to South Africa, but tickets to go around the world turned out to be $50 cheaper,” he said. “We worked out a schedule so that we would miss connecting flights and purposefully had to stop over. We were hoping to get the airline to pay for our accommodation that way, but they never did. The movie ended up costing $50,000, paid out of my own pocket. It was guerrilla filmmaking. Often, there wasn’t much time to do anything other than sit up real quick and grab a shot.”

Brown told The Guardian he couldn’t get any major Hollywood studios to distribute his film, so he rented out a theater in New York himself. Distributors then came calling, with Cinema V,  agreeing to distribute the film without making changes to it.

Good reviews helped the film take off

The theater release of The Endless Summer sparked great reviews from unexpected critics. "For some reason, the real entrenched film critics seemed to like it, maybe because it was different from what they were used to seeing,” Brown said, per TCM. “If they did a review and wrote, ‘Brown did a s---ty movie,' we'd have been dead. But nobody knew who I was, and maybe they felt it wasn't worth criticizing, so they pretty much gave us good reviews and helped us out."

A 1967 review by famed movie critic Roger Ebert described The Endless Summer as “a completely uncomplicated film, fresh and natural, designed only to please.“

“The film itself offers exactly what it promises — 91 minutes of wish fulfillment,” Ebert added. ‘Shunning the tons of equipment ordinarily taken along on location, Brown used only what he could carry. The beautiful photography he brought home almost makes you wonder if Hollywood hasn’t been trying too hard."

All of the low-budget grunt work paid off. “It ended up making $33 million worldwide,” Brown told The Guardian of The Endless Summer. “It caught people the right way. It was a couple of young guys taking off around the world on blind faith with a mission to find some waves. Even if they didn’t start surfing, it told people to follow their dream.”

Through it all, Doc stays grounded in both heart and purpose—but his decision to collaborate with the very doctor who tried to derail his career creates a painful rift with his wife, Hope (Annette O’Toole).

At the same time, Doc continues to show up for those around him, supporting Mel and Jack, his grandson, Denny, and his growing family.

“That’s the thing about Virgin River,” Matheson exclusively told Parade. “You have friends, family, and loved ones to support you through the hard times and celebrate the good times.”

In a world increasingly defined by distance and digital connection, Matheson believes the show offers something rare.

“People think posting on Facebook is a relationship—but it’s not,” he says. “Our show is a throwback to The Andy Griffith Show—to Mayberry—where people are truly there for each other. It’s refreshing, and it’s something we all wish we had more of.”

This isn’t Matheson’s first turn as a small-town doctor. He previously played Dr. Brick Breland on Hart of Dixie, a lighter, more comedic role. Rather than shy away from the overlap, Virgin River embraced it, leaning into audiences’ appreciation for his portrayal of a deeply human physician.

Season 7 blends romance with high-stakes drama. Particularly in Doc’s fight to regain his license, culminating in a powerful speech before the medical board.

“I loved that whole sequence,” Matheson said. “Doc explains why he left corporate medicine in Seattle, where he was head of internal medicine. He had lost touch with his patients -- bogged down by insurance companies and bureaucracy.”

In one defining moment, Doc recalls losing a patient he believes he could have saved.

“He basically says, ‘I quit. I’m going to go on to find a place where I can really help people,’ ” Matheson explains. “That’s what brought him to Virgin River.”

Doc’s past, especially his time as a doctor in Vietnam, shaped that calling. “When you’ve seen people at their worst, when you’ve lost patients right in front of you, medicine becomes deeply personal,” Matheson says. “Virgin River was a kind of salvation for him.”   

That idea of starting over is central to the series. “People come to Virgin River to turn a page in their lives,” he says. “They’re recovering from loss or hardship. For Doc, it’s about reconnecting with why he became a doctor in the first place—to truly care for people.”

Meanwhile, tension builds at home. Hope reconnects with her estranged ex-husband, Roland, at the same time that she struggles to accept Doc’s decision to work with Dr. Hayes and his Grace Valley medical practice

“It’s a clash of perspectives,” Matheson says. “Hope feels hurt that Doc didn’t consult her, while he’s focused on what’s best for his patients.”

Still, Doc sees a bigger picture. “It’s more than just their relationship—it’s about the well-being of the whole community,” he says. “He just wants her to understand that.”

Their history adds emotional weight. After past mistakes—including alcoholism and infidelity -- Doc has spent decades trying to rebuild Hope’s trust. “Hope is the love of his life,” Matheson says. “He’s been trying for 20 years to make things right—and she finally gave him that second chance.”

Now, the question becomes whether he can reach her again. “What can he do to reopen her heart?” Matheson asks. “He’ll do anything to find a way back.”

Offscreen, Matheson is celebrating the June 2 paperback release of his memoir, Damn Glad to Meet You: My Seven Decades in the Hollywood Trenches.

The book reflects on a remarkable career, with stories about icons the modern generation may not remember, such as Lucille Ball, Henry Fonda, Jackie Gleason, andBob Hope, as well as John Belushi andLeslie Nielsen.

“It’s about sharing what I learned—from the greats, from my successes, and from my mistakes,” he says. The memoir even includes a “Film School Bootcamp” filled with practical advice for aspiring actors and directors.

His guiding principle? “Be true to yourself and your heart—that’s what will carry you as an artist.”

Looking ahead, Matheson is eager to continue Doc’s journey in Season 8, which is now in production. “There’s still so much to explore,” he says. “Hope and Doc are facing real challenges, while Mel and Jack are navigating parenthood and a sick child. How do they get through it?”

If fan reactions are any indication, audiences will be right there with them. “I was at a car wash recently, and a guy told me he and his wife had started the show all over again from season 1,” Matheson recalls. “It was so genuine that it really moved me.”

That connection, he says, is the show’s true heartbeat. “It’s about the way people connect to Virgin River -- and to each other. And that just keeps growing with every season.”

Seasons 1-7 of Virgin River are available to stream on Netflix. Season 8 has started production.

Meghan Markle opened up about being the "most trolled person in the world" during a stop on her tour of Australia with husband Prince Harry.

The Duchess of Sussex shared her statements while speaking with Australian students at a meeting organized by Australian mental health group Batyr in Melbourne on Thursday. Reuters reported on the discussion.

She and Harry spoke about one of their passion projects, online safety for children, with the students. Harry told the audience that he was in favor of Australia's incentive to make social media safer for children. The country was the first to ban social media for ​children under 16, blocking them from platforms including TikTok, Google, YouTube, Instagram, and Facebook.

"Now we can sit here and debate ​the pros and cons of a ban – I'm not here to judge that. All I will say ​is from a responsibility and leadership standpoint – epic," Harry said.

GB News shared Meghan's comments. "And I can speak to that really personally, which is why I like to listen. Because it rings true for me in a very real way.

The couple's involvement in this particular topic began in 2022 when they formed the Parents Network, which transitioned into ParentsTogether. They sat down with CBS Sunday Morning anchor Jane Pauley to share their thoughts about online safety measures.

"Our kids are young," Markle told Pauley.  "But all you want to do as parents is protect them. And so, as we can see what's happening in the online space, we know that there's a lot of work to be done there, and we're just happy to be able to be a part of change for good."

When it comes to real estate, it's all about location, location, location. According to a new study, the same may be true of retirement preparedness. That's because the study found that one state has residents who are decidedly less prepared for their golden years than anywhere else in the country.

Mississippi Named Worst State for Retirees

SmartAsset went through and ranked 40 U.S. states—Wyoming, Vermont, Rhode Island, South Dakota, North Dakota, New Hampshire, Nebraska, Maine, Delaware, and Alaska were all left out of the report due to a lack of information—to determine which were the best and worst when it came to retirement preparedness.

Unfortunately for residents of The Magnolia State, Mississippi ranked dead last in the report, largely due to a lack of savings. According to the findings, Mississippi residents had less than half the national average tucked away for retirement, with many having only about $35,000 set aside.

But the issues didn't stop there. SmartAsset also found that of those with retirement savings, only 41.8 percent were in a tax-advantaged account, which offers tax exemptions or deferrals on your investments, minimizing tax obligations while increasing your savings.

Mississippi Wasn't the Only State to Get Low Marks

While Mississippi was definitely at the bottom of the SmartAsset list, it wasn't alone, and several other states landed at the bottom of the list, including:

• Kentucky
• Louisiana
• Alabama
• Oklahoma

But, the report wasn't all bad. It looks like those living in Massachusetts are doing really well with retirement planning, with a mean retirement savings of $150,000. That figure is nearly double the national average of $80,000, and 75 percent of that money was tucked away in tax-advantaged accounts.

That said, your dollar will stretch much further in Mississippi than in Massachusetts, given the cost of living in both states. And while it's easy to point at the numbers and accuse one population of being less prepared than the other, when you compare household earnings and what it costs to buy essentials in each of these areas, you're likely to see that people are on more even playing fields than it initially appears.

William Shatner has had enough. The 95-year-old Star Trek legend took to Facebook this week to shut down a spreading online rumor that claimed he had secretly met with Paramount and CBSexecutives to discuss Star Trek or the recently canceled series Starfleet Academy. The reference to his SNL advice is well-known to Trek fans and non-fans alike. On December 20, 1986, Shatner hosted Saturday Night Live and performed a now-legendary sketch set at a Star Trek convention, in which he told assembled fans, 'Get a life, will you people? For crying out loud, it's just a TV show.' It became one of the most quoted moments of his career, eventually lending its title to his 1999 memoir.

The rumor Shatner was swatting down this week appears to have circulated primarily through YouTube and TikTok, where AI-generated content dressed up as insider reporting claimed he and other original Star Trek cast members had confronted Paramount executives over Starfleet Academy. Various versions portrayed the alleged meeting as a dramatic showdown over the direction of the franchise. None of it was true.

Shatner saved his sharpest words not for the people who spread the story. 'What is real is a cottage industry of fiction dressed up as factual stories engineered by AI for clicks, views, and profit,' he wrote. 'Far too many of you are taking the bait.'

Earlier this month, Shatner was forced to address a separate and crueler hoax, fabricated AI-generated posts falsely claiming he was dying of Stage 4 brain cancer. He wrote on X that a Facebook group had been 'using AI to create horrible fake news stories' about his health, including fake images of him in a hospital bed, and that 'all their stories are monetized.' The false cancer posts spread widely enough to reach his daughter Lisabeth, who came to his home to check on him in person. Shatner posted a photo his daughter took of him to prove he was healthy, writing, 'I'm fit as a fiddle. You don't have to worry.'

Shatner ended his post on this latest false rumor with a note of genuine disappointment directed at the fandom itself. 'What disappoints me most isn't the nonsense,' he wrote. 'It's the eagerness to believe it, and the hostility it stirs up in a fandom that was built on something far better.' His closing advice was simple: if you don't like something, don't watch it. Spend your time with what you enjoy.

The post drew more than 22,000 likes within 20 hours.

Country superstar Brad Paisley was instantly smitten with actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley after seeing her on screen—while he was actually on a date with someone, setting off an unexpected twist to a love story she had no idea she was already part of.

In an interview for Live With Kelly and Mark, Williams-Paisley shared that she and the "Things We Quit" singer had recently celebrated their 23rd anniversary. They wed on March 15, 2003.

However, the actress didn't know that their love story began way before then, when Paisley went to see her 1991 film Father of the Bride with his then-girlfriend. He was smitten with the actress after seeing her portray Annie Banks in the comedy.

Williams-Paisley said, "He went to see the film with his girlfriend. Then, she kind of broke his heart and he wrote all these great songs from his heartbreak."

Today, their life is far from the Hollywood beginning to their romance. The Paisley's live in Tennessee, where they raise their two children.

To celebrate their recent anniversary, Williams-Paisley asked her husband to "do something meaningful" and write her a letter. Then, they went to a "dark bar" where they watched the 2026 Academy Awards.

However, that was vastly different from their wedding ceremony, which took place, surprisingly, during their rehearsal dinner. "We had all of our friends show up for the rehearsal, they were so confused," she began.

I’ve personally tested dozens of travel backpacks over the years. While many have been decent or average at best, none have been the complete package. When testing travel backpacks, I take several things into consideration. First and foremost, it must look good. After all, if it’s not stylish, I’d never give it another glance. Items are accessed primarily through the opening at the top, secured by a drawstring and a flap that has a side-release buckle for added security. As an overpacker, this specific design allows me to stuff more items inside the bag thanks to the top-loading design.  

Available in four colorways including sage, orchid, clay and black. I have the latter because it complements my favorite Caraa carry-on. Plus, it has 11 handy pockets and compartments, but more on that later.

The Size

When it comes to traveling with ease, size matters. This backpack (15 x 13 x 7 inch) is ideal for short trips like a quick weekend getaway, but it can also be used for longer travels as a supplementary carry-on. I’ve used it for both. For example, it’s been my go-to for overnight staycations and when I want to be hands-free and not be weighed down with multiple bags. It’s also been used as an addition to my larger carry-on or rolling suitcase. Plus, it easily fits underneath the seat, so you don’t have to worry about trying to fit it inside the overhead bin, only to be told it must be removed. 

The best part? It can hold up to 19lbs. I’ve packed two laptops, two pairs of flats, three tops, a couple pairs of linen pants, pajamas, my makeup bag, jewelry case, sunglasses, and a tripod. And that was just in the main compartment.

Like most backpacks, it has adjustable straps to customize fit, improve comfort, and stabilize loads. The straps are padded and don’t press into skin. Plus, the backpack has a luggage sleeve. If you’re traveling with a rolling suitcase, this is a godsend when you want to give your shoulders and back a break. The convenient sleeve easily slides onto the luggage handle, allowing you to whiz through the airport or train station.

If you’re like me and love bags that have a ton of pockets and compartments, you’re in luck. Ideal for travel, this backpack has nearly a dozen. There’s one large pocket in the front and two roomy ones on both sides of the bag. All the other pockets, cardholders, and compartments are hidden and tucked away within the bag. When I first got it, it was fun fishing around to find new spaces to put all my travel essentials. 

There’s even a back passport pocket, as well as a dedicated power bank pocket. As someone whose phone is never fully charged, this is a game changer. I’m always fumbling around my other bags looking for my charger. Now, I know where it is every time. There’s also a shoe and wet pouch included for storing sneakers, damp or soiled items. The zippers glide effortlessly, and I’ve never gotten anything stuck.

While this bag is as close to perfection as it gets, there is one design element that I don’t love. The water bottle pockets are inside the backpack. For me, I prefer them to be on the exterior for easy access, but that’s just one small gripe. 

The Material

When I’m testing travel gear, materials are always factored into my evaluation. The more sustainable, the better. This backpack is vegan-friendly and boasts a 100% recycled water-repellent nylon shell. Plus, it's water-resistant and has an antimicrobial recycled lining as well. 

The finish has a glossy, eye-catching sheen that gives it a modern and chic twist that’s unique to travel backpacks. Throughout my travels, I’ve received several compliments on it. This backpack is durable, stylish, and sustainable.

If you don’t want to drop $230 (some of the colorways are on sale for $190), there is a less expensive option that gets my vote. While it’s not as fashionable, it’s functional and sometimes that outweighs everything else, especially if the price is right. At under $50 bucks it’s a steal. Plus, it has a 4.6 out of 5.0-star rating.

First produced in 1893, Good & Plenty is one of the oldest branded candies in America. These pink and white, candy-coated black licorice bites were a movie theater staple for decades. (If you were a weird kid like me, you might have pretended they were medicine, too.) They're technically still around, but let's be honest—when's the last time you actually bought a box?

2. Good & Fruity

Good & Fruity was my personal favorite. The little sister to Good & Plenty, it had red licorice instead of black, and the shells were multi-colored instead of pink and white. In 1992, a major change happened where the licorice centers became multi-flavored to match the colors on the shell, and that's where things started going downhill for me.

Parent company Hershey pulled the plug entirely. They brought them back in 2008, but with a brand new formula—the licorice was gone, replaced with something closer to a jelly bean (think Mike & Ike). It was a bummer for Good & Fruity fanatics and by 2018, they were off shelves again for good. RIP to a legend, but there's always hope for another comeback!

3. Chocolate Twizzlers

I completely forgot these existed, but you can still find chocolate Twizzlers on shelves at stores like Walmart and Kroger. Hershey first introduced them back in the mid-1970s as part of a big flavor expansion beyond the original black licorice—along with strawberry, grape, cherry and watermelon. We all know who the real winner was—strawberry! The flavor now makes up 70% of their total production.

4. Licorice Wheels

Also known as licorice laces or licorice Catherine wheels, these tightly coiled spirals of licorice were as much a toy as a candy. Half the fun was unrolling them and eating the lace one bite at a time. I distinctively remember kids getting in trouble for hitting each other with them, too! (They hurt more than you'd think!)

5. Licorice Snaps

The American Licorice Company first launched Snaps in the 1930s as an affordable treat during the Great Depression. The candy officially went on hiatus in 2009, but The American Licorice Company has done limited production runs over the years. Sadly, it looks like that won't happen again any time soon. "American Licorice Company’s marketing and innovation teams have made the decision to halt production of Snaps® for the foreseeable future," reads the brand's official website.

6. Red Vines Mixed Bites

At some point, Red Vines had the genius idea to take their two most iconic flavors—Original Red and Black Licorice—and combine them in one bag of bite-sized, honeycomb-shaped twists. Then, just as quietly, they discontinued them. The good news? Red Vines recently launched Classic Mix Minis—same red-and-black combo, new shape. So if you missed the originals, consider this your second chance:

Before there were fancy artisan candies, there was Primrose Candy Co.'s individually wrapped pieces of jet-black licorice taffy. Sold for a penny apiece and a fixture of corner store candy displays for generations, this old-school treat has quietly faded from shelves, but can still be found at online retailers like Amazon.

8. Grape Red Vines

Everyone knows about the classic red flavor, but did you know Red Vines also makes a grape version? Believe it or not, these have been around since the 1970s, and they're still available if you know where to look. They're soft, chewy, and genuinely delicious—but somehow, most people have no idea they exist. My top tip: If you want to try them, don't purchase them on Amazon as they're not available in an official capacity and have poor reviews. Instead, shop on American Licorice Company's official website.

No shade to longtime fans of this candy, but I was shocked to see that Crows are still in production and available for purchase! The official description on Tootsie's website reads: "These popular black gummies offer a perfectly balanced anise flavor, delivering a comforting, mature taste with every bite. With a rich history and a strong, cult-like following, Crows stand out from their fruit-flavored siblings, offering a timeless, nostalgic treat that continues to delight licorice lovers."

10. Licorice Allsorts

If you ever raided a grandparent's candy dish and found colorful layered candies with black licorice sandwiched between pastel fondant, you've met Licorice Allsorts. Originally a British creation by Bassett's, they made their way into American homes and then slowly disappeared from most store shelves—though they remain wildly popular in the U.K.

11. Twizzlers Twerpz

Twerpz were bite-sized Twizzlers filled with a tangy foam candy center that made them weirdly addictive. They first launched in 2004 and came in strawberry and orange, but only lasted around five years on shelves before being discontinued in 2009. They definitely had a cult following and to this day, people mourn the loss of Twerpz. "God I miss them so bad," writes one Reddit user. "I miss them more than anything. I wonder if I was a billionaire if they would sell me some lol."

Shaped like old-fashioned smoking pipes, these novelty licorice candies were a fixture of penny candy counters for decades. They came in both black and red licorice varieties and felt impossibly cool to a kid in the 1970s or '80s. You can imagine why they've largely vanished from mainstream stores—a similar fate as candy cigarettes—though specialty candy shops still carry them and you can buy in bulk via Amazon.

Taco Bell is finally bringing back a menu item that fans have been begging for—and while it's no Caramel Apple Empanada (which inspired the new dessert empanadas currently being served), it's something that could be just as satisfying, depending on who you ask.

Two days after revealing its first-ever "St. Augustine-style" Chicken Ranch Nacho Fries, Taco Bell announced it would revive a cult-favorite Crunchwrap recipe that first appeared 10 years ago.

The popular fast-food chain recently began testing out new Crunchwraps and introducing slider-sized options, but all that innovation (mashed up with fan demand) has led Taco Bell back to one of its first, applauded spinoffs: the Triple Double Crunchwrap.

According to Taco Bell, fans' obsession with the original Crunchwrap—which debuted about 21 years ago—is actually what led to the Triple Double Crunchwrap in the first place. The brand said it built the "fully stacked take" around the "layers, flavor and crunch fans
love about the classic."

Taco Bell's returning Triple Double Crunchwrap features the signature build as the original Crunchwrap, it's just stacked higher, per the April 16 press release. It's filled with seasoned beef, warm nacho cheese sauce and crunchy tostada shells, wrapped up in a grilled tortilla and dressed with cool reduced-fat sour cream, lettuce and tomatoes, before being sealed into its iconic hexagon form.

When it was first released in July 2016, it was as a special, limited-time offer (LTO) that disappeared one month later. It was apparently so popular that the company actually made a habit of bringing it back every year as an LTO—until it didn't. This year's rendition will actually be the first time fans have seen the item on menus in six years, and, like its predecessors, it will only be available for a limited time.

When Will the Returning Menu Favorite Release?

Taco Bell's Triple Double Crunchwrap is available beginning today (Thursday, April 16) at participating Taco Bell locations nationwide and in the Taco Bell app for $6.49 (prices may vary). Fans can also find it in the $9 Discovery Luxe Box alongside a Doritos Locos Tacos, Cheesy Bean & Rice Burrito, Cinnamon Twists and a medium fountain drink—but only for a limited time.

And in just a few short weeks, Taco Bell plans to commemorate the Triple Double Crunchwrap's return with limited-edition ceramic coaster sets inspired by the fan-favorite. Fans looking to be one of the several hundred lucky fans who score the one-of-a-kind "display-worthy" collectible, featuring "a bold, monochromatic glaze in its own ingredient inspired color, finished with an engraved Taco Bell logo," will have to be a current Taco Bell Rewards Member and app user.

As part of a special Tuesday Drops release on May 19, some 300 fans will score the limited-edition, six-piece ceramic coaster set that, when stacked together, the Triple Double Crunchwrap silhouette "comes to life, with elements that reflect the extra layers fans love."
