1980 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Most Universally Beloved Comedy Movies of All Time’

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 10:06am

Collider has recently ranked the “7 Most Universally Beloved Comedy Movies of All Time.” The top movie on the list was Some Like It Hot with Monty Pythonand theHoly Grail and Groundhog Day securing the second and third spots. However, a film from 1980 has also made the list, Airplane!

This classic comedy, which stars Robert Hays and Julie Hagerty, is a parody poking fun at the disaster film genre. Although it draws elements from many different movies, a good chunk of the plot, dialogue, and characters is based off the 1957 film, Zero Hour!

Airplane! was a commercial success for Paramount Pictures, earning millions at the box office—and the film still holds up to this day. It currently has a 97% critic score on Rotten Tomatoes. As one reviewer says, “It reminds us of the importance of pushing boundaries at the same time that it gives us a playbook for doing so in a good-natured rather than vicious or belittling way."

Related:1934 Hit Ranked Among the Top 10 ‘Best Picture Winners' of All Time

Another reviewer complimented the acting performances, saying, "One of the reasons why Airplane! works as well as it does is because of those actors who play their lines with a deadpan performance.”

When Yahoo Movies asked David Zucker—one of the writers and directors of the film—about his favorite joke from it, he said, “I always laugh when all the reporters run up and they knock over the phone booth, but audiences today, I don’t think they know what they are. Phone booths—they’re such an old reference.”

Although Zucker has worked on many iconic parody films throughout his career, like Airplane! and The Naked Gun, he admitted that the genre hasn’t done as well in the recent years.

“It becomes watered down," he said. "I produced Scary Movie 5, [and] that was so watered-down that [it] contributed to ruining the genre, as did all the Friedberg and Seltzer movies. [Parody] has come on hard times. They’re not being done well. Scary Movie 3 and 4 did well, they made tons of money, they were huge hits. But by Scary Movie 5, it just got watered-down, we had to do what the studio required. It’s why I didn’t want to direct it anymore.”

Other films that made the list of “Universally Beloved Comedy Movies” were Bridesmaids, The Hangover, andMean Girls.

Ella Stiller, Daughter of Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, Looks Gorgeous on ‘The Tonight Show'

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 10:00am

Ella Stiller, the daughter of Ben Stiller and Christine Taylor, looks like a million bucks.

The rising starlet, 24, has had several parts in popular films and TV series in recent years, including a two-episode stint on And Just Like That
as Miranda’s son Brady’s baby mama. But her latest gig is quite an exciting one: She stars alongside Friends icon Lisa Kudrow in a season 3 episode of The Comeback. The beloved series, which originally ran on HBO in 2005 and returned for a second season in 2014, is back for its third and final season this year. Naturally, Ella is making the rounds to promote the series, and hit The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon last night looking absolutely lovely. Wearing an off-the-shoulder black dress, Stiller seems like a true fusion of her two famous parents.

What Has Ben Stiller Said About Parenting?

Ben Stiller has spoken openly about the challenges he’s dealt with and the mistakes he’s made as a parent.

“They [Ella and Quin] were very clear with me about what I got wrong,” Stiller told PEOPLE. “And I really appreciated that, because it’s one of those things where you think you know, ‘Oh, I know what I’m putting out there to them.’ But from their perspective, it was totally different.”

Stiller said he discovered these shortcomings while working on his documentary, Stiller & Meara: Nothing Is Lost, which chronicles the story of his parents, legendary comedians Jerry Stiller and Anne Meara.

“And by the way, that’s exactly how it was with my parents,” Ben continued. “But as the parent, I really couldn’t see that. So to be able to interview them and talk to them about it and hear their honest feelings — and the fact that they were free enough and secure enough to just say what they thought — is something I really appreciated.”

On Instagram, Ella honored her father’s work in the documentary, calling it “a beautiful, funny, gritty documentary.”

Muscle Loss on Ozempic Is a Real Problem—Here’s What Geriatricians Warn Patients Over 60 To Do Immediately

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:50am

Semaglutides like Ozempic (for diabetes) and Wegovy (for weight loss) have been in high demand in recent years, in large part because they are extremely effective at helping people lower their A1C and weight. But even effective medications have side effects.

"These medications can be revolutionary for managing type 2 diabetes and aiding in significant weight loss, which in turn can reduce the risk of events like a heart attack or stroke," saysDr. Zeeshan Khan, MD, chief of geriatrics at Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center. "However, they are not without risks, especially for older adults."

For a period, it seemed like TikTok had a name for everything that could conceivably happen if you took Ozempic or Wegovy—Ozempic face, Ozempic hair, Ozempic butt. You name it, it probably existed in a TikTok video. But generally, people focus on the GI side effects, such as nausea and diarrhea, Dr. Khan tells Parade.

"These side effects can lead to dehydration and imbalances in essential body salts, or electrolytes, more quickly in seniors," he explains. "There's also a risk of low blood sugar—hypoglycemia—if these medications are taken with other diabetes drugs like insulin."

Dr. Khan says another concern with GLP-1s like Ozempic is the loss of muscle mass, particularly in people 60+. Is it inevitable, or can people do anything to prevent muscle loss on Ozempic (without ditching the drug, which generally leads to weight regain)? Geriatricians weighed in on the top thing people over 60 can do to protect themselves against muscle loss on Ozempic.

What Geriatricians Want Patients Over 60 To Do About Muscle Loss on Ozempic

Viktoriya Skorikova/Getty Images

Geriatricians are warning patients that it is vital to get the facts about muscle loss on Ozempic and similar drugs, like Wegovy, ASAP. They want people to understand that the risk of muscle loss with Ozempic exists, why it can happen, why it's riskier for people 60+ and how to prevent it.

"Understanding this balance of benefits and risks allows us to make an informed, shared decision about whether this treatment aligns with your personal health goals and quality of life," Dr. Khan says.

Studies suggest that people can lose significant amounts of muscle mass on semaglutide. What's more, a 2025 study of mice in The Journal of Physiology suggested that up to 40% of the weight lost on GLP-1s was lean muscle mass.

"Lean mass is everything in your body that isn’t fat, including your muscles, organs and bones," he explains.

Dr. Erika Hutz, DO,a geriatrician at Endeavor Health, echoes Dr. Khan's sentiments about seeking information on muscle loss with Ozempic. Dr. Hutz says patients over 60 have several resources that they can tap for help understanding and managing muscle loss while taking GLP-1s, mainly:

  • Your primary doctor or geriatrician, who can check your muscle mass, review your diet and make personalized recommendations.
  • A registered dietitian, who can help you consume the calories and protein you need to manage your weight without sacrificing muscle mass.
  • A certified personal trainer or physical therapist who can design safe and progressive strength programs (Dr. Hutz suggests looking for someone experienced with older adults).

Why Muscle Loss on Ozempic Happens

It might help to understand why muscle loss on Ozempic (and similar drugs) can happen. It ultimately comes down to the design of GLP-1s.

"The GLP-1 drugs work largely by reducing appetite and slowing the digestion process, leading to a decrease in caloric intake," explains Dr. Marzena Gieniusz, MD, a geriatrician in the Division of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Northwell Health.

Semaglutide is highly effective, helping people lose an average of 15% of their body weight. But your body goes through a "remodeling" when you lose weight. If the "remodel" (weight loss and calorie restriction) occurs rapidly, you're at an especially high risk of losing muscle mass. And there are several reasons for muscle loss with GLP-1s.

"First, with a reduced appetite, it becomes challenging to consume enough protein, which is the essential building block for muscle," Dr. Khan says. "If your protein intake is too low, your body will start to pull from your muscle reserves."

Rapid weight loss can feel gratifying at first, but Dr. Khan says it can result in greater muscle loss. More gradual weight loss may better help preserve muscle.

Why Extra Muscle Loss Matters to People Over 60

People over 60 are already more likely to experience muscle loss (or sarcopenia), even without GLP-1s, for many reasons. Dr. Gieniusz says that older adults are more likely to experience:

  • Decreased hormones (like testosterone and growth hormone)
  • Nerve damage
  • Decreased activity
  • Poor nutrition
  • Chronic inflammation and conditions (like diabetes, cancer and kidney disease)

"For individuals over 60, losing muscle mass is not just about a loss of strength; it's about a loss of independence and resilience," Dr. Khan states.

Dr. Hutz agrees. "Muscle isn’t just for looking fit—it helps us move safely, maintain balance and recover from illness or injury," she says. "Even small losses can increase the risk of falls, make everyday activities harder and slow recovery if you get sick. That’s why preserving muscle is especially important after 60."

3 More Tips To Protect Yourself From Muscle Loss on GLP-1s

Once you know that Ozempic and other diabetes and weight management medications can cause muscle loss, you can take additional steps to protect your health as you age. Geriatricians shared three more ways to reduce the risks of muscle loss on Ozempic and Wegovy.

1. Prioritize resistance training

Resistance training is your best line of defense, Dr. Khan says. "You need to send a clear signal to your body that your muscles are essential," he reveals. "I recommend engaging in resistance training at least three times per week."

But he does want to be clear: You don't need to become a bodybuilder. "You can use resistance bands, light weights or even your own body weight," he explains. "Exercises like squats—even modified by holding onto a chair—lunges, push-ups against a wall and rows with resistance bands are excellent."

Be sure to start slow. There's no need to go from 0 minutes of exercise to benching 60 pounds in one day.

"If you're new to this, start with a light intensity and focus on proper form," Dr. Khan says. "A few repetitions of each exercise is a great start. The goal is consistency and gradual progression."

A personal trainer can help.

2. Log cardio and other movement throughout the day

Lifting three times per week is one box to check on your physical activity list. But Dr. Hutz says you'll want to do more than go to the gym, leave and sit for the rest of the day.

"Walking, light cycling, gardening or gentle yoga helps maintain muscle and supports overall health," Dr. Hutz says. "Try to get at least 30 minutes most days, breaking it into shorter sessions if needed. Consistency matters more than intensity."

3. Get enough protein

Dr. Gieniusz implores people over 60 to eat nutrient-dense foods with sufficient protein (about 1 to 1.5 grams per kilogram of body weight). She advises people over 60 (and anyone, really) to prioritize lean protein. Think chicken, fish and plant-based proteins. Protein shakes can help supplement your diet if needed.

"Work with a qualified professional on ensuring a reasonable calorie intake, and set reasonable weight loss goals without losing too much weight too quickly," she recommends.

‘Days of Our Lives’ Star Teases the Future of Her Romance Following a Major Casting Shakeup

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:47am

Following the highly anticipated debut of Conner Floyd as the new Chad DiMera, on Days of Our Lives, his co-star AnnaLynne McCord is offering new insight into why Cat Greene’s complicated romance with Chad may be far from over, and teasing the “sticky spots” ahead that will reveal more about her past.

McCord was recently interviewed by The Soap Scene’s Erin Goldsby where she discussed her time on the soap opera, and her relationship with Danny Cipriani and their wedding plans.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox🎬

Since joining Days of our Lives, McCord’s character Cat has been at the center of several major storylines. The character initially entered Salem by impersonating Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller), the late wife of Chad (then Billy Flynn, now Floyd). The scheme was later revealed to be orchestrated under duress, as Clyde Weston (James Reed) had taken Cat’s mother hostage, forcing her to comply. With Chad’s help, Cat ultimately rescued her mother, while Clyde was left comatose after being injured.

Since then, Cat has worked to rebuild her life in Salem, where her siblings Mar, Aaron, and Felicity reside. She developed genuine feelings for Chad, but their relationship became complicated when his son Thomas (then portrayed by Carey Christopher) learned the truth about her past. As a result, Chad agreed to keep his distance from Cat as part of a custody arrangement with Thomas’s grandparents.

It was later revealed that Cat is an operative for the International Security Alliance (ISA) and has begun working with Rafe Hernandez (Galen Gering) to take down E.J. DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel)

Teasing what is to come, McCord said, “There will be some sticky spots for Cat that are very revealing that she might not appreciate.”

She added that viewers will also learn more about Cat’s history with the ISA as the storyline unfolds.

As for Cat’s love life, McCord suggested the door may not be fully closed with Chad, now played by Floyd. Despite their complicated past, she noted that it was her “true self” who fell in love with him, adding, So, that creates an energy of ‘what if’ with Chad.”

Nancy Guthrie Update: Sheriff Chris Nanos Submits 12-Page Response to Supervisors' Demand

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:45am

Today co-anchor Savannah Guthrie‘s mom, Nancy Guthrie, is still missing 11 weeks after she was abducted from her Tucson, Ariz., home—and Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos just submitted a 12-page response to supervisors' demand for answers amid growing criticism.

On April 7, the Pima County Board of Supervisors gave Nanos 10 business days “to provide either a written or verbal response” to questions about his employment history and disciplinary actions against personnel, per Arizona Public Media.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

Fast forward to Wednesday, April 22, and Fox News Digital reporter Michael Ruiztook to X with information about Nanos' written response submitted by his lawyers.

The 12-page document addressed Nanos' putting Lt. Heather Lappin on administrative leave leading up to the 2024 election — resulting in his defeating Lappin and a workplace harassment investigation being filed against him.

"Any appearance of impropriety that resulted from former Lt. Lappin's placement on administrative leave is the unfortunate result of a 2024 change to county policy that allowed county employees to run for county office without leaving their jobs," it read.

The explanation from Nanos' lawyers continued, "Before 2024, employees vying for county office were placed on leave without pay to ensure that their political aspirations did not prevent them from doing their jobs nor adversely affect the operation of their department. It is not surprising that the first election following this regrettable change in policy showcased the predictable ways in which active employees running for county office can adversely impact departmental operations."

Additionally, Nano's lawyers addressed questions about Nanos' work history. Previously, Nanos faced criticism because he actually resigned from the El Paso Police Department two years earlier then listed. The PCSD told Us Weekly that it was a mistake in “administrative in nature,” and “not intended to mislead or misrepresent.”

"It is 100% correct that Sheriff Nanos was never suspended during his four decades of decorated and faithful service with the Pima County Sheriff's Department," Nanos' lawyers explained. "However, Sheriff Nanos was suspended more than forty years ago while employed by El Paso Police Department."

Furthermore, Nanos' lawyers denied perjury allegations stemming from a First Amendment lawsuit against him. They claimed it was a misunderstanding, explaining, "In the context of his live deposition, Sheriff Nanos did not understand the question related to discipline with a different agency not governed by the Arizona Peace Officer's Bill of Rights."

Amid the criticism of Sheriff Nanos, Nancy, 84, is still missing. No suspect has been named in her Feb. 1 abduction despite Savannah offering a $1 million reward.

For every jaded, despicable personality we encounter, it only makes the precious, lovely individuals of the world feel even more valuable. Their presence heals. According to expert numerologists and astrologers, four birth dates stand out as the most likely to be naturally endearing.

1966 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies’ of All Time

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:40am

More than half a century after its release, The Battle of Algiers continues to resonate with modern audiences, making it among the “best movies of all time.”

Directed by Italian filmmaker Gillo Pontecorvo, he delivered a different kind of political, war-drama through a documentary style of storytelling.

Set during the Algerian War of Independence, it highlights the brutal struggle of Algerians under the French colonial ruling.

The film depicts the urban guerrilla warfare, exploring themes of terrorism, insurgency, torture, decolonization, and the devastating consequences of war experienced by the military and civilians.

Apart from its intriguing plot, the cast lineup also brought a unique ensemble as it featured a mix of professional actors and non-professionals. This is the director’s way to maintain an authentic kind of storytelling.

This includes Brahim Hadjadj as the protagonist Ali La Pointe. He is an illiterate farmer and a petty criminal who turned into a revolutionary leader.

Joining him as the lead star was Jean Martin, who was the only professional actor in the movie. He took on the character of Colonel Philippe Mathieu who works in the French Army and had served the military commander of Algiers during the Algerian War.

In addition, Saadi Yacef, who played El-Hadi Jaffar, was a real-life leader of the FLN.

Despite the movie’s controversial subject, The Battle of Algiers had its successful world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in 1966.

The film took home the Golden Lion award, widely regarded as one of the prestigious and distinguished prizes in the  industry.

The Pontecorvo-directed movie was able to secure more recognitions including the FIPRESCI Prize or the “critics picks” awarded by the International Federation of Film Critics.

Moreover, The Battle of Algiers also took home a special city-sponsored prize called the Award of the City of Venice.

From its back-to-back recognitions, the political drama film made it to the top 10 of Rotten Tomatoes list of 300 best movies of all time.

According to the post, The Battle of Algiers passed the multiple criteria which includes the number of movie recommendations from critics as well as the number of Popcornmeter votes or the percentage of fans who rated the movie positively.

Based on the rankings, the film secured the ninth spot, with 99 percent on Tomatometer or the positive reviews from critics.

While some described it as a “work of art” fans called it anything from “passable” to one of the “greatest international films,” praising its distinctive documentary-style filmmaking.

They’re a great addition to a spring brunch, a Mother’s Day gathering, an office party, or end-of-year school celebrations. You can just set them out straight from the container and watch them disappear.

The petite size might make them a little too easy to reach for, but they can be portioned out and enjoyed in moderation at any time of day. That traditional cinnamon flavor pairs naturally with coffee or tea, or can be warmed slightly with a scoop of cool vanilla ice cream for dessert.

Like many Costco products, availability can vary by location, so if you don’t see them now, you may spot them showing up in the future.

Familiar enough to satisfy classic cinnamon roll cravings, yet different enough in the mini format to feel fresh and fun, these El Camino Real Bakery treats are a solid Costco find for sweet snacking and easy entertaining. If your family always shows up for cinnamon rolls, this is the version you’ll want to stock up on before it’s gone.

Major Airline Retracts One of Its Best Free Perks Saying It Was a ‘Glitch'

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:20am

For a brief moment this spring, a small miracle seemed to unfold somewhere above the clouds. Travelers on certain United Airlines flights logged onto the onboard Wi-Fi portal expecting the usual prompt to pay. Instead, many were quietly waved through. No credit card. No day passes. Just free internet.

For travelers like me who spend far too many hours wedged between a window shade and a tray table, that kind of surprise feels like finding an extra inch of legroom. Passengers quickly assumed the airline had finally joined the growing club of carriers offering complimentary connectivity, as per the New York Post. Screens lit up with texts, emails, and hopeful speculation that in-flight Wi-Fi might soon be as normal as a cup of ginger ale.

Then the truth came out. The free connection was never meant to happen. According to reports, the airline later confirmed the access was the result of a technical glitch rather than a new benefit. By the end of the day, the paywall had quietly returned.

The “Glitch” That Briefly Changed the In-Flight Experience

The unexpected free access appeared when some passengers discovered they could connect without paying on planes that did not yet have the airline’s new Starlink internet system installed. Normally, Wi-Fi on these aircraft costs around $8 for loyalty members and about $10 for other passengers.

But for a short window, those fees vanished. Travelers simply logged in and connected, leading many to believe the airline had expanded complimentary internet beyond its newer aircraft.

Related: United Just Launched a First-of-Its-Kind TSA Tracker

Soon after, the airline clarified that no policy change had occurred. The Street reports system error temporarily allowed passengers to bypass the payment screen. The company corrected the issue and confirmed that its existing Wi-Fi policy remains unchanged.

To seasoned travelers, this kind of digital hiccup is oddly fitting for the modern aviation era. Air travel today runs on layers of software and connectivity systems, from ticketing to aircraft communications. When one piece behaves unexpectedly, passengers notice immediately.

Why Wi-Fi Has Become One of Travel’s Most Valuable Perks

If you had asked travelers a decade ago what makes a good flight, the answers might have been legroom, food, or friendly service. Today, internet access often lands near the top of the list.

In many ways, the airplane cabin has become a floating office, entertainment lounge, and communication hub. Travelers stream movies, finish presentations, send photos to family, or simply track their connection while crossing an ocean.

Related: United is Turning Economy Seats Into a Bed and We’re Obsessed

Across the industry, airlines are increasingly experimenting with free Wi-Fi models. Some carriers already provide complimentary access either universally or through loyalty programs.

That shift reflects a larger change in expectations. Travelers are used to being connected everywhere else. Coffee shops, trains, and hotels offer internet almost automatically. The airplane, once a disconnected bubble in the sky, is slowly catching up.

The Technology Race Happening Above the Clouds

The story also intersects with a larger technological transition underway in aviation. Airlines are racing to upgrade onboard internet systems, and satellites are playing a growing role.

United, for instance, has been installing high-speed Starlink connectivity across parts of its fleet. The system promises faster speeds and broader coverage compared with traditional air-to-ground networks. The airline plans to continue the rollout over the next few years, with fleetwide upgrades expected by 2027.

For travelers, the promise is significant. Satellite-based systems can deliver speeds that make streaming, video calls, and cloud work possible even at cruising altitude.

During one flight I took last year with a modern satellite system onboard, I noticed something unusual. The cabin was quiet in a different way. Instead of flipping through magazines or staring blankly at seatbacks, passengers were typing, scrolling, and watching shows as if they were sitting in a café. The plane had quietly turned into a flying digital lounge.

What Travelers Should Expect Going Forward

So what does this brief Wi-Fi “glitch” really tell us? First, connectivity has moved from luxury to expectation. When passengers accidentally receive free internet and celebrate it instantly, it shows how central the service has become to the travel experience.

Second, airline technology is evolving quickly. Satellite internet, new partnerships, and software systems are reshaping the cabin faster than many travelers realize.

Finally, the episode offers a reminder about the strange moments that make travel memorable.

1862 Novel Ranks as No. 1 Best Book Turned Into a Musical on Goodreads

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:19am

There are a lot of book adaptations out there, and usually, we turn to movies and TV shows. Yet, there is another format that has become popular over the centuries: musicals.

Broadway and West End productions have been forms of entertainment since the dawn of time. It’s no wonder, then, that many books have been adapted into theater productions, and musicals remain a popular format. While Wicked and The Phantom of the Opera are close to the top, there’s only one novel that Goodreads users have put at the top of “Books that Inspired Musicals.”

Victor Hugo’s ‘Les MisĂ©rables’ Shines

It’s all about the 1862 novel Les MisĂ©rables by Victor Hugo. Many will be aware of the movie starring Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe, but this has been a stage production for much longer.

The production has been on stage since 1980, bringing Hugo’s story to life. Set in the early 19th century, we start with the story of Jean Valjean, a prisoner who is released on parole. Of course, it’s hard to start a life as a parolee, and police inspector Javert is constantly on his tail, looking out for him to bring him back to prison.

Over the course of the musical, we meet characters such as Fantine, Cosette, and Eponine. We’re told the stories of hardship and loss, with the arcs taken from the story itself. However, some of the relationships are lost in the adaptation due to the time available.

Some of the most memorable songs from the stage production include “I Dreamed a Dream,” “Castle on a Cloud,” and “On My Own.”

Movie and TV Adaptations of Victor Hugo’s Classic

While the musical adaptation is one of the most well-known around the world, there have been other versions released. The one that follows the classic Hugo novel much more closely is the PBS miniseries starring Lily Collins, David Oyelowo, and Dominic West.

However, the book itself has captured hearts and minds. This isn’t a book of happiness and romance. While there is a love story built into it, the title itself translates to “The Miserable Ones.” It’s a focus on real life in the 1800s, bringing tragedy as well as hope.

It’s also a timeless tale, despite the setting. Sure, we may not be at the start of the French Revolution, but there are constant turning points in history and it’s going to speak volumes whatever the era. Out of all the novels out there that have inspired musicals, it’s not surprising that this one sits at the top of the list.

‘Brady Bunch’ Star Eve Plumb Didn’t Recognize Some of the Show’s Famous Guest Stars

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:13am

The Brady Bunch featured several big-name guest stars during its five-season run, but some of the child actors on the show were too young to realize who they were. The classic TV sitcom, which aired from 1969 to 1974 on ABC, featured cameos from everyone from football great Joe Namath to Monkees singer Davy Jones.

In an April 2026 interview with Newsday, series star Eve Plumb (Jan Brady on the series) revealed she didn’t know who guest Imogene Coca was when she made a guest appearance on the show in the 1972 episode “Jan’s Aunt Jenny.” When asked if she was aware of the legendary comic actress who played her eccentric great aunt, Plumb, now 67, replied, “I think I was too young.”

Ditto for Jim Backus, the iconic actor who played Mr. Howell on Gilligan’s Island and made several guest appearances on the Brady episodes “Ghost Town USA,” “Grand Canyon or Bust,” and "The Hustler.” “Yeah. Same," Plumb replied when asked if she was too young to recall Backus.

When asked if she had seen the actor on Gilligan’s Island, which Brady Bunch showrunner Sherwood Schwartz also created, she admitted, “No. I was watching Mary Tyler Moore."

Several 'Brady Bunch' guest stars caused quite a stir

Plumb may have recognized some of the younger guest stars, such as Monkees legend Davy Jones and actor Desi Arnaz Jr.

In her 2008 memoir Here’s the Story, co-star Maureen McCormick dished, “Davy’s arrival on the set created a buzz greater than any other guest star we had on the show. Davy was a lovely guy, and it was a big deal to have a pop star of his caliber on set. “

Super Bowl-winning quarterback Namath, fellow NFL star Deacon Jones, and legendary Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Don Drysdale also made cameos on the show. In Barry Williams’ book Growing up Brady: I Was a Teenage Greg, Brady Bunch matriarch Florence Henderson admitted, “I was crazy about Joe Namath.” She also recalled that she jokingly asked the football legend to “take her away” because she “couldn’t stand this family anymore.” “And he just said, ‘Sure Mrs. Brady,' and carried me off the set,” she shared.

In an interview with USA Today, Christopher Knight (Peter Brady on the show) also dished on his favorite guest stars. "Working with Vincent Price was an honor. And Davy Jones. I was a fan of The Monkees," The Brady Bunch star said.

‘80s Femme Fatale Kathleen Turner Is a Red Carpet Queen in Crocs at 71

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:12am

Kathleen Turner can do whatever she wants on the red carpet.

The beloved actress, 71, who rose to stardom in the role of sex symbol Matty Walker in the 1981film Body Heat, went on to memorable roles like The War of the Roses, Peggy Sue Got Married, and The Virgin Suicides. She even nailed several comedic roles, like starring as Chandler Bing’s transgender father on Friends. But these days, Turner is enjoying a quieter life. The iconic star stepped out to attend the red carpet New York premiere of Animal Farm, and rocked a pair of Crocs like an absolute boss. Walking with a cane due to some recent injuries, the legend of stage and screen smiled for the cameras.

When Did Kathleen Turner Last Hit the Red Carpet?

Turner last stepped out to attend the New York premiere of Netflix’s Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man at DGA Theater. While she walked with a cane then, the icon looked happy and healthy.

Before that, the legendary actress made a rare appearance last summer at the New York City premiere of The Roses at the Hudson Theatre on Monday. The black comedy, based on the 1981 novel The War of the Roses by Warren Adler, tells the story of a couple, Ivy and Theo, played by Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman, who face a crossroads in their troubled relationship. Andy Samberg, Kate McKinnon, and Allison Janney have supporting roles in the film.

It would have been only appropriate to have Turner at the premiere of the film, since she starred opposite Michael Douglas in the 1989 film adaptation of the book, which was a runaway hit directed by Danny DeVito. The legendary actress wore a full-length black dress for the occasion, along with black sandals. While her arm was in a sling, there was no word about the cause of her injury. With Cumberbatch and Colman by her side, Turner appeared happy to be at the big event.

Pat Sajak’s Daughter Hard Launches Her Relationship With Fan-Favorite Savannah Bananas Player

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:12am

Maggie Sajak, the daughter of beloved Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak, recently hard launched her relationship with a popular Savannah Bananas player. According to her April 21 Instagram post, she is dating infielder Jackson Olson, who many fans have been pushing to get cast on Dancing with the Stars.

Maggie posted a photograph with the athlete in front of a Disney castle with the caption, “Applications closed.” This is a reference to a TikTok video that he posted in December, where he said, “As some of you know, I’ve been single for over five years. And I’ve been getting pretty tired of it recently. So here’s my official 2026 boyfriend application.” In it, he stated that he dances on baseball fields for a living, loves Disney, knows “more Taylor Swift songs than you,” and has an unhealthy obsession with musicals.

On April 21, Olson referenced the relationship by sharing a clip to his Instagram Stories from the movie Elf. It depicted the scene where the main character, Buddy, says, “I’m in love and I don’t care who knows it.” Olson captioned it, “Me right now.”

In addition to being the daughter of an iconic game show host, 31-year-old Maggie is a country music singer and special Super Bowl correspondent for Inside Edition. 28-year-old Olson started with the Savannah Bananas in 2022 and has over a million followers on TikTok. Since he is already known for his choreographed dancing on the field, many people believe he would be a great fit for Dancing with the Stars.

The Savannah Bananas are an exhibition baseball team based in Georgia who play a variation of baseball called Banana Ball. Their games include fan participation and showmanship, similar to the Harlem Globetrotters. However, they are still competitive. Many of their players are former minor league or college players.

JetBlue Just Made It Possible to Book Your Entire Vacation with Monthly Payments

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:10am

If you’ve been putting off booking your 2026 travel because you aren't ready to drop thousands of dollars at checkout, JetBlue Vacations just handed you a major workaround.

Starting today, JetBlue Vacations has partnered with Flex Pay to allow travelers to book flight and hotel packages using simple monthly installments. To celebrate the launch, the new feature comes with a massive perk: zero interest for this week only. From now through April 23, 2026, well-qualified travelers can snag 0% APR on their trips. That means you can lock in your flights and your hotel today, but spread the actual cost over the next year without paying a penny in interest.

Related: JetBlue Jumps on Florida’s Travel Moment With More Flight Deals Starting at $49

The "Already Winning" Strategy

The reason this is such a savvy move for 2026 is that JetBlue Vacations is already an under-the-radar gold mine for deals. Earlier this year, the brand ran a staggering promotion where flights were 100% off—yes, you read that right—when bundled with select cruise packages.

When you find one of those "free flight" bundles with partners like Royal Caribbean or Norwegian Cruise Line, you’re already winning. By adding a 0% APR payment plan on top of a zero-dollar airfare, you are essentially getting a free loan for a vacation that was already a steal.

The "Anti-Deposit" Advantage

The struggle with traditional travel planning is the "big balance" surprise that usually hits right before you depart. JetBlue’s new system flips that on its head. Instead of a massive lump sum, you’ll see the estimated monthly cost while you browse.

Think of it as a "subscription" to your vacation. If that Caribbean escape or an "Insider Experience" stay in Tulum or Aruba looks a lot more manageable at $90 a month rather than $1,100 upfront, this tool is designed for you. Plus, unlike traditional credit cards, there are no late fees or prepayment penalties.

The 72-Hour Window

To get the most out of this, you have to move fast. The 0% APR offer is only available through Thursday, April 23. It covers travel through the end of 2026, so if you’re eyeing a Thanksgiving trip or a winter holiday cruise, this is the window to lock it in.

Pro Traveler Tip: Don’t Leave Points on the Table

Even if you choose the monthly payment route, you still earn your TrueBlue points and tiles for the full package. This is a savvy way to edge closer to Mosaic status or earn those "Perks You Pick" without draining your checking account in one go. Whether you're booking a flight-and-hotel stay at a premium Disney property or a "Plane to Port" cruise bundle, just look for the Flex Pay option at checkout to see your personalized monthly rate

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:03am

HĂ€agen-Dazs is expanding its popular lineup of mini ice cream bars with a trendy new flavor—but only at Costco (which famously sells its own, very similar ice cream bars).

It has been a busy year for fans of the iconic ice cream brand, which debuted two new bars—Cherry Dark Chocolate and Toasted Coconut Crunch—nationwide in January and the Sam's Club-exclusive Salted Caramel Graham Mini Ice Cream Bars last month.

Now, Parade has learned the 66-year-old company is expanding its retail line of mini bars with a new flavor that it said is rooted in one of the brand’s best‑selling ice creams and aligned with modern dessert trends.

Following what the premium ice cream brand called a successful relaunch of its pistachio ice cream flavor in 2024 and growing consumer demand for more globally inspired flavors (not to mention the popularity of pistachio-chocolate combos), HĂ€agen-Dazs said it's launching new Dubai Style Chocolate Mini Ice Cream Bars exclusively at Costco clubs.

HĂ€agen-Dazs' new Dubai Style Chocolate Mini Ice Cream Bars are made with creamy pistachio ice cream that features crunchy inclusions of kataifi that's "toasted to golden perfection" before being coated in the brand's beloved rich milk chocolate shell with "global levels of indulgence," according to an official statement shared in an email with Parade.

’70s Rock Legend Dead at 79

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:02am

Dave Mason, guitarist and co-founder of the band Traffic, has died.

The English singer-songwriter passed away at his home in Gardnerville, Nevada on Sunday at the age of 79.

The heartbreaking news was confirmed by his family on his official Facebook page.

Although the cause of death has not been revealed, the family shared that he passed away peacefully after spending time with them, including his beloved wife Winifred and their dog Star, on his final day.

“It is with deep and profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Dave Mason. On Sunday, April 19, after cooking an amazing dinner with his beloved wife Winifred, he sat down to take a nap with sweet Star (the Maltese) at his feet. He passed away peacefully, in his favorite chair, surrounded by the beautiful Carson Valley that he loved so much. A storybook ending. On his own terms. Which is how he lived his life right up until the end. He leaves a lasting imprint on the soundtrack of our lives and the hearts he has lifted. His legacy will be cherished forever,” the caption reads.

Prior to his death, Mason was forced to postpone a tour in 2024 due to an "urgent heart condition" that he discovered during a routine medical checkup.

A year later, he called off his full tour schedule as he was still recovering from a "severe infection."

"With deep regret, I must cancel all tour dates for 2025 due to ongoing health issues stemming from the infection I had in March," he mentioned in a statement at the time.

However, in the same year, Mason announced his retirement from touring due to persistent health problems.

As the music legend prioritized his health, he took the opportunity to thank his fans and those around him including his doctors for their compassion and guidance.

“I’m incredibly grateful to my team of doctors—this has been challenging territory, to say the least,” he said as cited by Ultimate Classic Rock, adding “A heartfelt thank you to all the fans, and to my family, band, agents and the venues who’ve waited patiently and supported me throughout this journey.”

The late musician is known for co-establishing the acclaimed rock band in 1967 together with Chris Wood, Steve Winwood and Jim Capaldi.

At the height of their career, Traffic released a string of notable hits including "Hole in My Shoe," "Paper Sun” and "Here We Go Round the Mulberry Bush.”

In 1970, Mason pursued a solo career and released his debut album, Alone Together.

It was his sixth solo studio album, Let It Flow, when he achieved major solo success through his second single "We Just Disagree,” marking his highest-charting solo hit after reaching No. 12 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Trader Joe's Fans Swear This Viral New Serum is A Dupe For Glow Recipe

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 9:01am

Trader Joe’s may be known for epic snacks and frozen aisle staples, but shoppers are now making room in their carts for skincare.

The grocery chain’s new Dewy Skin Serum, priced at just $9.99, is quickly going viral online, with some fans comparing it to pricier glow-boosting products from Glow Recipe. For beauty shoppers looking for that glass-skin finish without the luxury price tag, it’s easy to see why the product is getting attention.

According to the Trader Joe's website, the serum is designed to deliver lightweight, layered hydration while leaving skin with a smooth, lit-from-within look. The formula includes four forms of hyaluronic acid to help attract and retain moisture, plus niacinamide to support the skin barrier and help brighten uneven tone.

The brand also notes that ingredients like sappan bark, rosehip fruit, and watermelon fruit extracts add a soothing boost, while a touch of mica creates a luminous finish that is dewy rather than glittery.

View this post on Instagram

That ingredient lineup has led many shoppers to compare it to Glow Recipe’s bestselling dewy serums and watermelon-inspired skincare, which often retail in the $34 to $45 range depending on size and formula.

“The dewy serum is so worth it,” one fan exclaimed along with two fire emojis on an Instagram post highlighting the product.

Another claimed “the glow serum is sooooo amazing guys.”

A third stated, “This stuff is actually good! I use it in my morning skincare routine, definitely gives moisture and glow.”

Others said it looked similar to the Glossier’s Futuredew, which sells for around $30.

“Oooo looks like the Glossier Future Dew!” one noted.

One Redditor wrote, “this looks very similar to glossier future dew which I love!”
