A Stunning New Cooler Basket at IKEA Might Be the Most Chic Picnic Accessory You'll Ever Own

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 5:05pm

Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.

Why is it that when it comes to picnic baskets, we're still forced into a very unnecessary style vs. functionality crisis? You either go full storybook chic with a woven basket that looks adorable but can't keep a grape cold to save its life, or you lug around a bulky, plastic cooler that does the job but absolutely kills the look you're going for. There seems to be no middle ground—no option that says, "Yes, I care about aesthetics and my cheese staying chilled." It's a little absurd, if you ask me.

A picnic is as much about the experience as it is the snacks. You've packed the perfect spread, picked a scenic spot, maybe even coordinated a cute blanket situation—and then there's your clunky cooler crashing the party. It's just not right.

SOLUPPGÅNG Bamboo Cooler Basket, $39.99 at IKEA

Shop It!

In an era where everything from water bottles to lunch containers has had a design glow-up, why has the humble picnic basket been left behind? The good news is that it hasn't been entirely forgotten, and there's finally an option that gets it right with the SOLUPPGÅNG Bamboo Cooler Basket at IKEA.

At first glance, it has all the charm you want—a beautifully braided bamboo shell that feels elevated and a solid bamboo lid that's as sturdy as it is easy to pop off and set aside while you dig in.

However, look inside, and it's working a lot harder than your average basket. There's an insulated lining made from recycled polyester, complete with a smart zipper that actually keeps things cold (imagine that), plus separate compartments so your drinks, snacks and ice packs aren't all jumbled together in one soggy mess.

It's also practical, making outdoor dining feel much easier. The roomy interior (with a four-gallon capacity and enough structure to hold up to 22 pounds) means you can pack a legitimately impressive spread, from chilled drinks to full-on lunch setups. Add in the sturdy bamboo handle, and transporting your picnic feels less like a burden and more like carrying a fun accessory. It's stylish, functional, and basically, the picnic basket has finally evolved.

Just grab one of Five Below's foldable picnic tables, and you've got yourself a seriously sweet setup.

‘Beyond the Gates’ Star Discusses Scene She Thought She Failed Opposite a Daytime Icon

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 5:01pm

Beyond the Gates star Daphnée Duplaix (Nicole Richardson Dupree) took viewers behind-the-scenes of the April 21, 2026 episode, explaining how it came together, after it almost didn't, in a video shared on social media.

The actress posted the video on her Instagram explaining how on-set “boo-boos” can happen “Some days, you know, the material sticks and it's just easy and it rolls off your tongue, and other days, a little more challenging,” she said.

Dupliax explained that there can be several reasons for those moments, including heavy dialogue or nerves when working opposite certain scene partners.

She added that, in this case, her nerves came from sharing scenes with the award winning, Jon Lindstrom, who plays Joey Armstrong on the series.

“I'm gonna say it was because I was nervous because I was working with such an amazing talent,” she said.

She explained that actors can sometimes leave a scene feeling like they bombed it. However with the help of directors and editors, those moments often come together seamlessly in the final cut, sometimes even exceeding expectations. In Duplaix case, she rewatched the scenes and shared, “Oh, I’m actually really good.”

Duplaix also shared behind-the-scenes footage of her scenes with Lindstrom alongside the final version that aired, highlighting how on-set slipups can still result in polished performances.

In the scenes, Nicole visits with Joey to discuss how they can move forward, after a heated exchange occurred the last time the two were together. With a mutual friend in-between them in Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli), the two come together to be civil with one another.

In the comment section, Mike Manning, who plays Duplaix son-in-law Smitty, shared that the video was "two of my favorites to work with 🙌," with Duplaix adding, "your on the top on my list Mike 😘."

Best-Selling Novel Called ‘Prescient Right Now’ by Actor in 2026 Film Adaptation

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 4:48pm

There is a good reason the 1945 novel by George Orwell, Animal Farm, is taught in schools. The story tells how easy people can slip into totalitarianism through anthropomorphic farm animals. The cast of the 2026 animated film talked about the timing of their adaptation and what's happening in today's politics.

‘Animal Farm’ Is Adapted Into a 2026 Movie

Andy Serkis is the director of the animated film and voices Mr. Jones. Seth Rogen voices Napoleon, Woody Harrelson voices Boxer, Steve Buscemi voices Mr. Whymper, and Laverne Cox voices Snowball.

Related: ‘Practical Magic 2’: Will Aidan Quinn Return as Gary Hallet?

"It's an iconic piece of literature that is so prescient right now and always, but now more than ever," Cox told PEOPLE. She then talked about current events.

"People are losing their jobs. People are losing healthcare... Gender-affirming care is being attacked not just for children, but also for adults," she said. "It's never been about protecting women. It's never been about protecting children. It's always been about creating a permission structure to scapegoat trans people, to dehumanize trans people, to take away our rights… But we will not be erased."

The PG movie's artistic director Marcel Jean told Variety they wanted to follow Orwell's description of the book as a "fairy tale." Jean, 63, explained why the movie's villain isn't an obvious one. He comes across as funny at times like some deceiving charismatic leaders.

"Our world is a lot more complex now," he said. "The notion of truth is almost destroyed so that we are blinded by what is happening." The Russian Revolution and Joseph Stalin inspired Orwell to write the story, although it's a timeless one.

Animal Farm will be available in theaters on Friday, May 1.

1988 Hit Ranked Among 'Greatest Power Ballads' Became a No. 1 Heartbreak Anthem

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 4:41pm

When a relationship is on the brink of breakup, there's nothing more accurate than listening to a power ballad on full blast. The Swedish rock duo Roxette released a track in 1988 that would become a staple as a heartbreak anthem with its resonating lyrics that would reach the top of the charts.

In a list by UltimateRockClassic, they listed "Listen to Your Heart" at No. 24 as one of the best power ballads to have ever been released. According to reports, the track was developed while listening to another power ballad, although which one has never been revealed. Some fans have debated the song's similarity in beat and lyrics to Heart's "What About Love." Roxette co-founder Per Gessle created the track alongside former Gyllene Tider guitarist Mats "M.P." Persson, with Marie Fredriksson on vocals.

In 2024, Gessle told Billboard that the track's overall inspiration was “about a good friend of mine who went through a difficult divorce." He recalls having spent the entire night listening to and discussing his friend's problems. The lyrics to "Listen to Your Heart" focus on wanting to hold on to a relationship while knowing deep down it may be over. Lines about trusting your feelings and facing a painful truth give it that classic heartbreak vibe.

Related: 1986 No. 1 Hit Track Ranked Among ‘Greatest Power Ballads in Rock History’ Won an Oscar

"Listen to Your Heart" topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts at No. 1 and landed at No. 2 on the Adult Contemporary charts. Gessle recalls the positive that came out of the song when his friend sent him a fax over the excitement of the track becoming a chart-topper in the U.S. The track became one of the rock duo's biggest successes and most popular singles of 1989.

The Roxette song also has some interesting firsts for the late '80s. It made history as the first No.1 track to have been released only on a cassette at the time, and not available for purchase on vinyl. According to Billboard, "Listen to Your Heart" totaled over two billion in radio airplay in the U.S. by 2024.

It later re-entered the charts when the Belgian dance group DHT released a dance cover of "Listen to Your Heart." The cover was released in 2003 as the first single of their debut album, and reached No. 1 on the US Billboard Hot Dance Airplay chart and the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Tired of bulky cat furniture that costs a fortune and clashes with your home decor? Finding the perfect piece to keep your feline happy without sacrificing your style can be tricky, but thankfully, Chewy has an adorable solution that's easy on the wallet. The Frisco Cow 2-in-1 Cat Bed and Condo Scratcher proves that functional pet accessories can also be a charming addition to your living space.

This ingenious cat tower is the ultimate multitasker, designed to satisfy all of your pet's scratching and napping needs in one cute and compact spot. This versatile cat accessory combines a charming cow-themed cave bed with a built-in scratching post, offering your pet a perfect combo spot for romping and rest. Made of soft teddy fleece, the cushion inside the cave provides a plush, inviting texture for snuggling, while the post helps satisfy natural scratching instincts and keeps claws healthy. It's an ideal all-in-one spot for your cat to scratch, nap, or keep watch over their entire domain.

For felines that prefer to keep their lounge and play areas separate, the bed is attached with elastic, making it easy to remove from the scratching platform. It's also machine-washable, making it easy to maintain a fresh environment for your cat. Reviewers noted that the fabric retains its softness even after multiple washes. When removed from the cave, the standalone bed is equally functional on the floor, a sofa, or even tucked into your own bed to suit your kitty's preferences.

Putting the set together is simple, with no tools required. Several shoppers reported that attaching the post to the base and top platform takes only a few minutes. Just keep in mind that since the bed arrives vacuum-sealed, it typically needs about a day to expand to its full, fluffy shape.

Described as "hilarious and adorable," shoppers were impressed by the "super cute" cow design of this two-in-one scratcher post and bed. "This cow bed and scratcher is adorable, and doesn't take up a lot of space," one reviewer raved, noting that the 33-inch-high post allowed their cat to people-watch out of their window. Shoppers also said the "functional" hideaway is a "nice and cozy" spot where their kitties love to curl up.

The structural integrity of the "sturdy and well-made" scratching post is solid, and several pet parents raved that even when their cat decides to leap up on the top of the cow's head, it always pops right back into shape after they hop off. Recommended for cats up to 20 pounds, one reviewer with larger cats (over 16 pounds) said they jump all over the setup without it toppling over.

This 1969 Rock Classic Hit No. 1 — But It Was a Cover

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 4:06pm

It's unsurprising that Elvis Presley, AKA the King of Rock and Roll, has dozens of rock hits. However, some fans might not realize that a few of his most famous and beloved works weren't originals.

For instance, his 1969 song, “Suspicious Minds," which reached the number 1 Billboard's Hot 100 spot during November 1969, was written by Mark James, who released his original take on the classic in 1968, as reported by American Songwriter.

Mark James Discussed Writing 'Suspicious Minds' in a 2014 Interview

In a 2014 red carpet interview with Artisan News, James discussed writing Presley's big hit before being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

"I wrote it for myself years ago. I had a record out in '68. Same arrangement," said James. "And so that's why I use the same arrangement hoping [Presley would] do the same thing and make it greater when he came in American Studios."

According to James, he "knew the song was perfect for" Presley, who was 42 when he died in 1977.

While speaking to Artisan News, James also shared his thoughts about the lasting legacy of "Suspicious Minds."

"I'm really honored about that. Matter of fact, 'Suspicious Minds' is now the all-time biggest single ever of Elvis Presley. That's a great honor. Yeah, Elvis had a lot of great songs," said the "Always on My Mind" songwriter, who died in 2024 at the age of 83.

Mark James Said He Appreciated Elvis Presley's Take on 'Suspicious Minds'

While speaking on stage before an audience in 2021, James said he appreciated Presley's take on "Suspicious Minds."

"The bottom line is yeah, they did record it. They tried to make it greater and they did, providing Elvis would sing it, and get a great performance and he did," said James while holding a microphone.

James also said the success of Presley's recording benefited him.

"It was number one in 27 countries and Elvis was on top again and so was I," said James with a laugh.

Whittard Mother's Day Tea Gift Box, $69.99 at Costco

Costco

The gourmet gift sets alone, like this Whittard Mother's Day Tea Gift Box, are enough to make you feel like you've really outdone yourself. The beautifully-packaged treats look far more expensive than they actually are (a Costco specialty, of course).

If your mom's idea of bliss involves a cozy corner, a good cup of tea, and a little something sweet on the side, this Whittard of Chelsea gift set feels like a no-brainer. It features two loose-leaf teas (English Rose and classic Earl Grey), plus a pair of indulgent biscuits that sound almost too good to share (strawberries and cream, and Earl Grey).

Related: IKEA Is Selling Foldable Outdoor Lounge Chairs That Add Modern Chic Style to Small Spaces

The whole set yields around 40 cups of tea, so it isn't just a one-and-done situation; it's something she can savor over time. All it takes is a teaspoon of loose-leaf tea, a cup of freshly boiled water, and a few minutes to steep to her liking.

Even better, it comes with a one-cup tea infuser, so everything mom (or any important woman in your life) needs for the perfect steep is right there in the box, beautifully packaged and finished with a bow for that extra giftable touch.

You could easily make this the whole gift, or pair it with a cute tea kettle if you want to add on a little something more. There's also a really fun MacKenzie-Childs-inspired tea cup candle at Aldi that would kind of be the perfect accompaniment to this gift set, and it's only $8.99.

Of course, whatever you choose, Mom's gonna love it, because it's from you.

1992 Rap Hit Inspired by a Popular '90s Beauty Trend Became a Timeless Anthem

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 3:26pm

As soon as you hear the opening line, "Oh my God, Becky, look at her butt," you know you're about to listen to "Baby Got Back" by Sir Mix-A-Lot (aka Anthony Ray), one of the most recognizable rap songs ever. What you may not know about the song, known for its humor and bold "I like big butts" lyrics, is it was a reaction and a rejection of a '90s beauty trend.

During the early '90s, a major beauty trend favoring an ultra-thin, sweaty, and kinda dirty aesthetic took off. Sir Mix-A-Lot took notice and didn't like what he was seeing or the ways he was hearing people talk about women with curvier body types. The word "body shaming" wasn't around yet, but that's exactly what Mix-A-Lot aimed to stand up against with this song.

"Basically, pop culture was waif-thin, heroin addict, big hair, fake boobs—you know, that was what they thought beautiful was," Mix-A-Lot explains in an interview with NPR. "And because of the way it was discussed publicly, it made women who had naturally curvy bodies ... run around with sweaters wrapped around their waist."

Iconic supermodel Kate Moss was the primary face of the trend, particularly through her Calvin Klein campaigns in the early '90s. This beauty trend even got the nickname "heroin chic."

Here's Kate Moss in the '90s:

Photo by WWD on Getty Images

So Sir Mix-A-Lot got to working on a "body positivity" song, but we didn't have those words yet then either.

“We saw one of the Spuds MacKenzie ads for Budweiser during the Super Bowl,” Mix-A-Lot explained in a Vice interview. “You’d see these girls in the ad: Each one was shaped like a stop sign, with big hair [and] straight up-and-down bird legs. There’s nothing wrong with that, but I was so sick of that s**t.”

“When [men are] crooning to women about how beautiful they are in an R&B song, the ladies you see in the video don’t reflect what those guys like,” Mix-A-Lot explained. “Every time an R&B video was on, I heard women say, ‘I just saw him down in Oakland, and his girls wasn’t like that.’ That made me think that this was more than a funny song, and it wrote itself.”

Related: 1999 Hit by Iconic '90s Band 'Makes No Sense' But Reached No. 1 in Over 25 Countries

The song “Baby Got Back” was originally released on May 7, 1992, as the second single from Sir Mix-A-Lot's album, Mack Daddy. On April 11, 1992, the song debuted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100, and it hit No. 1 on July 4, 1992. The timeless anthem remained at the top for five weeks and ultimately won the 1993 Grammy Award for Best Rap Solo Performance.

With "Baby Got Back," Sir Mix-A-Lot started nothing short of a cultural phenomenon. Not only did the song and its lyrics spark conversation and a little controversy, it became a defining '90s anthem.

The song has been widely referenced across pop culture, too. For example, the song ignited an awkward but funny scene in Charlie's Angels (2000), made for a hilarious storyline in a memorable episode of Friends (2002), and even showed up on S3 of The Masked Singer (2020).

Of course, decades later "Baby Got Back" still resonates. The nostalgic '90s hit is one of those songs that everyone knows. It's played at parties and events, and it's as recognizable to a Gen Z teen as to a Gen X grandmother. Plus, now that we have language to talk about body positivity, the song has been given new life within those conversations.

It's impossible to imagine a world without "Baby Got Back"—the song has stood the test of time and helped drive a confidence-boosting cultural shift for women throughout the decades.

'Chicago Fire's Jocelyn Hudon on Lyla Novak's Trust Issues and Friendship with Violet Mikami (Exclusive)

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 3:23pm

One of the most soul-satisfying relationships on Chicago Fireis that between Violet Mikami (Hanako Greensmith) and Lyla Novak (Jocelyn Hudon) because we’ve been able to watch it develop over time and because the two women recognize that they have something special in their friendship.

Novak arrived as a new paramedic following Sylvie Brett's (Kara Killmer) exit in the "Something About Her" episode in April 2024. At that time, Novak was a fill in on the ambulance, but when Violet saw how well they worked together, she asked Novak to take the job permanently, which Novak was reluctant to. She had an aversion to commitment. But she eventually said yes, becoming a series regular the following season.

On tonight’s “Instinct” episode, the bond between the two women is tested when the paramedics find themselves in a dangerous situation after a man, initially seeking help for a pregnant woman, takes them hostage at gunpoint. The trust they’ve built between them helps them survive, and nothing shows that more than at the beginning of the episode when Novak talks to Violet about trusting her.

Apparently, Novak is still thinking about a conversation from the previous episode in which Violet admitted to Novak that she slept with Vasquez (Brandon Larracuente) and hadn’t told her, but she did it when she thought Novak was interested in Chicago Med’s Dr. Frost (Darren Barnet). Novak is hurt that Violet didn’t tell her sooner, and she wants to express her feelings.

“I think for Novak, based on where she came from, she was a little non-committal and flighty, and she didn’t want to stay at one firehouse or the other,” Hudon exclusively tells Parade of her early days on Chicago Fire. “I think for her evolution, staying at 51 and having a conversation instead of maybe running away from it is a big development for her. So, I think in 17 when Violet says, ‘I slept with Vasquez,’ Novak’s kind of like, ‘Ugh,’ and then it just weighs on her.”

But again, back to their having built a mutual trust, for the women it’s sisters before misters, and Novak isn’t going to let what happened between Violet and Vasquez destroy what they’ve built, and so she approaches Violet with her concerns.

“For her to just rip off the Band-Aid and say how she feels, I like that she’s like, ‘You don’t have to say anything, I just had to say it,’” Hudon continues. “I think that was a big deal for her, and I think that’s a big evolution for the character. To just even say how she’s feeling instead of running away from it, I think she trusts Violet as a partner, but I think she was like, ‘Oh yeah, we’re partners and we’re also best friends.’ But I think that made her doubt the friendship part of it, so she just wanted to make sure that Violet was on the same page as her, and just flush that out before going into any other situations.”

Below, Hudon talks with Parade about what's coming for Novak and the other changes happening at Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire.

We’ve watched Novak date Dr. Frost, which looked like it was a great relationship, but then she broke it off with him. And then she seemed kind of interested in Vasquez, but not enough that it kept Violet from sleeping with him. What happened in her past? What is the backstory that they told you or that you created for her that makes her this flighty?
I know from the episode where there was the suicide last year, I don’t know exactly what happened, but I know they lost a parent, and based on what we’ve seen already, Novak had to support her sister Heidi and her brother Will. I don’t know if having that kind of troubled beginning made her less committed in the present, but I know she is committed to her job now, and she found her family at 51, so maybe I think it might come with time and with trust. I don’t really know exactly why she is like that, but I hope to find out.

Speaking of her sister, she has reconnected with her as well, so it seems like she is making progress on several fronts, and she wants to have her family back in her life as well.
Agreed. I think having that episode where Heidi was introduced this season was huge, to bring that into Novak’s character’s life. I think that was really cool to see, and maybe gave us a peek inside her mind. Because from the firehouse perspective, Novak’s kind of the wild one, but then in her personal life, you’re like, "Oh, she’s the parent here, and Heidi’s more of the wild one." It was cool to learn about the character.

Is there anything about Novak that you relate to on a personal level?
The martial arts, for sure. I do martial arts as well. I think I’m funny, goofy, light, like she is, but I also take my job very seriously, like she does. So there’s the "work hard/play hard" aspect of her personality that I also have. I think helping other people, I like doing as well. I think being in a service industry and taking care of other people, I like doing that in my personal life. I think those are the main things that I relate to about her.

There’s a lot you relate to, so could you see playing the character for several more seasons?
I remember when I got this audition, I was like, “This is for me.”

This role on the ambulance, it’s gone through several changes, starting with the death of Shay, and then there have been a couple of other characters, do you think it’s because it’s hard for people to spend so much time Chicago, away from home? Why do you think there has been so much cast turnover?
I don’t know, but this is my dream job. The writers and showrunners give me such great material. I love Chicago, I love being part of an ensemble cast, I love being part of the Wolf family. It’s just a dream for me personally. They also give me so much: They give me comedy, drama, action, it’s like the perfect job. I’m never bored; I’m always inspired by every script they give me. I’m like [Makes a panting sound.]. And I don’t know if that will ever go away, even if I’m here for 14 more years, but every script I come at it with the same amount of excitement. But yeah, I love when they’re like, "ooh, today you’re funny, today you’re crying, today you’re this," yeah, they just give me everything, which I’m very grateful for.

Is there anything you would like to see for her future? Would you like her to get into a committed relationship?
Honestly, Episode 18 was something where I was like, "Oh, they should take Violet and Novak and have them get abducted, that’s what they should do," and then they did it. And I was like, "Did you read my brain, because that’s what I wanted to see?" So it was cool that they somehow came up with that. I loved her with Frost, so I don’t know. I don’t know if that can come back, but I loved that.

Novak’s job is very important; she’s saving people’s lives. Talk about what it’s like. Is the jargon hard to learn?
No, the jargon’s been all right. I was also a lifeguard for a little bit. In Canada, it’s called Bronze Cross, Bronze Med. And then the NLS training, and then I worked at a camp as a lifeguard, so I felt like I had a base knowledge of CPR, lifeguarding, and lifesaving. I love doing the medical training with Michelle; it’s super fun, and it’s so specific.

But yeah, it’s a lot of C-collars, IVs, backboard, putting them on the stretcher, EKG, the leads, ventilating. I like criking, that was really fun when we got to crike that guy last year. Because you learn the medical, the why, it makes acting it out more tangible if you know how to do it for real. But yeah, the medical training is great for me, I don’t know, because it’s hands-on, it just goes into my brain easily.

Doyou watch other medical shows?
Yes, I do, but I’ve watched procedurals my entire life. I was a kid watching procedurals, and my parents were like, “What is wrong with you?” But I’ve loved procedurals my whole life, so it’s cool to be on one.

The other big change in the firehouse has been the changing of chiefs. First, Boden (Eamonn Walker) and now Pascal (Dermot Mulroney) are gone. Does that affect Novak at all?
I think it’s not affecting her right now because she’s so separate from it. She’s living off in her own land. That’s like a Severide-Hopkins storyline, but I think she would be very concerned if anything happened to Severide . That would affect all of them. So, I think she would just be like, “Okay, leave him alone.”

Is there a chance that Pascal could come back?
Stay tuned. I loved working with Dermot. He’s such a great energy for the group. He’s just such an iconic, talented actor, and it was really cool when he joined the cast. I was like, "Oh, my God!" Because My Best Friend’s Wedding was one of my favorite movies growing up, so it was really cool to get to work with him.

This New Trader Joe's Find Has Everyone Saying the Same Thing

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 3:17pm

Trader Joe's just debuted a new item that has customers swooning. The Parmesan Tapenade recently started popping up on store shelves, and it is quickly building a significant fan base.

The new Parmesan Tapenade takes the basic concept of an olive tapenade and elevates it with the addition of Parmesan cheese and a few other tweaks. The result is a home run that has customers racing back for more.

In the Trader Joe's subreddit, one customer initiated a thread on the Parmesan Tapenade. "It is GOOD," the Reddit user wrote. That person described it as "Slightly spicy, garlicky, and the cheese is so tasty." They noted that they ate it with sea salt pita chips.

The photo of the new tapenade indicates that it includes Parmesan cheese, oil, olives, jalapenos, garlic, and herbs. The ingredient list indicates the mix specifically includes Manzanilla olives along with red wine vinegar, cilantro, sea salt, thyme, oregano, sunflower oil, and olive oil.

The original poster wasn't the only one who had already tried the Parmesan Tapenade and found it delightful. Everybody who has tried it seems to be thoroughly hooked.

"Grabbed today, opened it while making dinner. It's so good! Ready to buy another tub or make my own," one fan shared.

When one Reddit user asked how "cilantro-y" it tastes, someone noted they hadn't even realized there was cilantro in it when they ate it.

Someone else questioned how "olive-y" it tastes. The response was that it didn't have a very strong olive taste, as the "cheese and garlic are the flavor forward ingredients." In addition, that person noted, it's "Not super spicy, but definitely [has] a little kick."

"WHY must this place torture me so much," questioned someone else.

An additional commenter noted that the Parmesan Tapenade "tastes good warmed up too." Several pizza-related suggestions popped up in the thread, and someone else suggested it would "slap with some steamed or boiled artichoke."

The Trader Joe's Parmesan Tapenade is also starting to hit Instagram as customers discover it. As was the case on Reddit, the consensus from those who have tried it seems to be that it's delicious. Many who are just learning about it now seem quite eager to get their hands on it.

The containers of Parmesan Tapenade contain 8 ounces and are priced at $4.99. One person noted that in their store, it was located near all of the cheeses.

A Seasonal M&M’s Flavor That Fans ‘Can’t Stop Eating’ Is Back at Target

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 3:04pm

A sweet M&M's flavor is making a limited comeback after fans thought it would be long gone for the season.

Originally released in 2023, M&M's White Chocolate Marshmallow Treat flavor has become synonymous with spring, as the brand has brought the variety back on several occasions in festive, Easter-themed packaging. The line usually begins to appear on shelves in early February and disappears around the time of the early spring celebrations, but this year it looks to be hanging around a little longer at one retailer—just sans holiday packaging.

Earlier this week, an eagle-eyed shopper spotted share-size bags of M&M's White Chocolate Marshmallow Crispy in-store and excitedly posted about the "goodie" online.

M&M's Marshmallow Crispy Flavor Is Back—Here's Where

The returning favorite is M&M's take on the popular dessert bars made with marshmallow and Rice Krispies cereal. According to an official description, the variety features a white chocolate shell filled with a marshmallow-flavored, crunchy rice crisp center.

Fans agree, with one reviewer noting that the variety is sweeter than a regular M&M and "delicious."

"My favorite," a second wrote online. "It tastes like Lucky Charms."

"I can't stop eating them!" a third wrote, noting the candies "taste kind of like a Rice Krispies treat but better—super crunchy and sweet."

Although this version has a slightly different name and M&M's colors, we're pretty certain that the White Chocolate Marshmallow Crispy and White Chocolate Marshmallow Treat M&M's should be pretty indistinguishable from one another—aside from the aesthetics, of course.

The newer bags lack the festive Easter themes and pastel candy assortment, opting for a plainer light blue bag and a trio of M&M's colors: white, light blue, and deep blue.

So far, M&M's White Chocolate Marshmallow Crispy flavor has been spotted at select Target stores, where it will be available exclusively for about $5.79 per share-size bag (presumably for a limited time this summer based on the product's online listing).

Parade reached out to a spokesperson for comment.

Under the watchful eye of Ken Jennings (who himself was a record-breaking champion), Jeopardy! puts three people's trivia skills and reflexes to the ultimate test. And so many of the greats to grace those podiums started by simply watching the show as it aired on weekdays, as millions have done for over half a century.

Final Jeopardy today was in the category "18th Century Works."

The clue: "Before this 2-word term came to mean a type of mysterious object, trapshooters used it to refer to their targets."

The answer: What is a flying saucer?

A three-way miss for Final Jeopardy, as none of the contestants got the answer correct. Ding entered with a runway more than double Yen's. His conservative wager of $1,199 protected his lead, even in the worst-case scenario, so even with the wrong answer of "What is... Clay Pigeon ???", he walked away with $19,001.

This 1972 'Maude' Episode Became One of the Most Controversial in Sitcom History

Wed, 04/22/2026 - 2:45pm

The first season of the classic sitcom Maude tackled a topic that not many would have dared to cover with its main characters. In the early '70s, certain topics like sex and abortion were considered taboo, with one of Maude's episodes having caused immense backlash after airing.

Maude was created by Norman Learas a spinoff sitcom of the popular series All in the Family, instead focusing on the well-loved character Maude Findlay (Bea Arthur). It focused on Maude, a political liberal, outspoken middle-aged woman living in suburban New York with her fourth husband, Walter (Bill Macy). The sitcom quickly established itself for combining comedy with social issues, which was groundbreaking for TV.

In Season 1, the sitcom released a two-part episode in November 1972 that brought the topic of abortion into family homes. "Maude's Dilemma" had a storyline that focuses on Maude discovering she's pregnant at 47 years and stands at an emotional crossroads of what to do. Her father encourages her to get an abortion, while her husband insists he'll support any decision she makes. He also promises to get a vasectomy.

Related: This 1992 ‘Seinfeld’ Episode Won an Emmy and Ranked ‘Best TV Episode of All Time’

According to producer Rod Parker, to The Chicago Tribune, "The funny thing is that initially we weren't even thinking abortion ... The group Zero Population Growth announced they were giving a $10,000 prize for comedies that had something to do with controlling population, so everyone came in with ideas for vasectomies."

Producer Norman Lear was also against the idea of Maude having a miscarriage or a false pregnancy. He felt it was a cop out and was already done in All in the Family, and believed that, given Maude's age, an abortion made more sense.

Part 1 of "Maude's Dilemma" aired on Nov. 14 on a majority of CBS's network affiliates except for two. The episode's subject matter led to almost 7,000 letters with a protest by the United States Catholic Conference. Reruns of the episode led to over 40 affiliate networks banning the premiere of the episode and a spike in letters. It just so happens that the episode was also released two months before Roe v. Wade.

The Muade episode has since become iconic for bringing the topic of pro-choice into the space of primetime TV and the homes of its viewers. It wasn't the only controversial episode, when the sitcom aired "The Election" with Maude advocating for premarital sex and "The Gay Bar" tackling homosexuality.
