Allow me to set the stage for "Time Out Of Mind,"Bob Dylan's 1997 "Album of the Year" winner that marked a return to wide-spread critical acclaim for the now 85 year old musician.

Smoke. Shadow. Darkness.

A man stands with a guitar, his face barely peeking into a sliver of cold, lifeless light. He looks familiar. He's a man we all knew well, but he's older now. His voice is cracked, withered, and weary. He sings of regret, death, love, and heartbreak. A career, a life, and a man that have been beaten by the years and yet... he still stands.

The album marks a stark sonic shift for Dylan that he hasn't fully deviated from yet in my eyes, and that is this Americana pastiche soaked in a classic blues sheen that has permeated the rest of his work from here on out. Dylan as this old, weathered blues man that we see today takes his first step forward here, and it's one of my absolute favorite albums from him.

"Time Out Of Mind" features Dylan's darkest sound, darkest lyrics, and darkest overall mood. It's a story of age revealing inspiration, and a legend who just keeps improving.

How a Near-Death Experience Shaped Time Out of Mind

Dylan was in a weird spot around the time this album released. He hadn't put out a collection of original material since 1990's "Under the Red Sky," which was received pretty poorly. The 80s were a very strange decade for Dylan musically as it was for a lot of legacy acts that went through that decade.

Adopting the sound and styling of the time hadn't been kind to Dylan, and creatively he was in a constant state of flux. Whether that was the back half of his born again trilogy of albums, his success with The Traveling Wilburys, or the little shades of Dylan's songwriting genius that shone through on parts of "Infidels" and "Oh Mercy," he was never really staying in a consistent creative space.

The general sentiment going into the release of "Time Out Of Mind" was that of an aging star trudging through his later years of musicianship. Despite the great handful of songs and moments Dylan produced through the 80s, there was a sense that he just didn't have it in him anymore to the general public.

Upon the album's release, it was a massive success, being called his "come back album," by the general population. Leading up to the release of the album, Dylan was seriously ill from a bout with acute pulmonary histoplasmosis, which could have been fatal. Despite the album being completed before this brush with death, the sense of impending mortality has tinged the record forever, with many seeing it as an album about death, despite it being so much more.

The next year, the album would walk away with three Grammys, including Album of the Year. It remains one of Dylan's most acclaimed records and one of his most timeless musical accomplishments.

The Album Features Underrated Greatness

I love this record, perhaps a lot more than a lot of other Dylan heads. It's a top 5 album of his for me, and I think the reason for that is Dylan's venture into this really morose tone. His writing is much more depressive and dark than it typically is. It's the album where he successfully switched from aging rockstar to wise old poet, and the songs really reflect that.

The album opens with "Love Sick," this really tired and fed up song that I have always felt is about the pains of loving a world that is both disappointing you as well as slipping away from you. The 90s were such a transitory period in history, and I think this album is really emblematic of this great event horizon we were coming up on with the advent of the internet and modern tech.

From then on we get some the most forlorn music Dylan has ever written with songs like "Standing in the Doorway," "Tryin' to Get to Heaven," and "Not Dark Yet." These songs are all mixed up in this melting pot of death, heartbreak, and almost apocalyptic imagery. For many people I can see the record being too steeped in sorrow, but for me I think it's a special collection of music that captures a really specific moment in time.

The album closes with one of Dylan's most underrated songs in my opinion, and that is "Highlands." It's a sweeping behemoth of a song, clocking in sixteen minutes and thirty-one seconds, and it follows Dylan as this wayward traveler through the world is occupying, and all the woes and pains that come with that. He reckons with his age, his career, his life, and how the greater universe around him doesn't seem to make sense anymore. Throughout these laments of a world gone by, there are small glimmers of beauty as Dylan sings about how "his heart is in the highlands," a beautiful sort of figurative afterlife where all is okay. It's a phenomenal piece of writing, and harkens back to a song like "Desolation Row" in the way that it wields a strange yet understood chaos.

Dylan proved that he was an eternal songwriter, and that these glimpses of glory over the previous decade were no accident. "Time Out Of Mind" is a special and beautiful record, and it's one of my absolute favorites.

Concerts can be a pretty impersonal experience. With the massive amount of people in attendance as well as the divide of the performer and the crowd, there's not a lot of genuine connection that can be made. That doesn't mean that James Hetfield of Metallica isn't going to try, though.

Metallica is currently on tour in what has become a bit of a summer tradition for them. The band has settled into the later years of their career rather nicely as a solid touring band with a ton of stops worldwide. I started covering their annual touring last year, and I've come to really see how much appreciate the band, and especially Hetfield, have for their fans in attendance.

Recently, a video from one of their concerts has highlighted the kindness Hetfield shows toward his audience, with this wonderful little "conversation" he had with the audience.

Immediately, I was super struck by him giving a nice warm shoutout to the opening acts. As an opening band, you can oftentimes get pretty shafted by the show and the headlining audience, so it's a nice thing for Hetfield to give those groups a shoutout. To be fair, not everyone's opening act is Pantera, but still.

Hetfield went on to even personally thank the fan filming the video, and engage in a little back and forth with him. Hetfield's decision to involve the crowd is such a great one in my eyes, as it makes every show unique. I often find myself gravitating to the less elaborate, more spontaneous concerts, as the music and the community surrounding it tend to take the focus.

After years of uncertainty, Edguy is officially making its return.

The German power metal favorites have announced their first live performance in nearly a decade, confirming they'll reunite for a special show next summer. The announcement marks the band's first confirmed concert since wrapping up its last tour in 2017 and ends years of speculation surrounding its future.

The performance will take place in their hometown of Fulda, where Edguy will make its long-awaited return to the stage on June 25, 2027.

"Some stories deserve a final chapter," the band shared in a cryptic Instagram post. "Let's write ours together."

Founded in Germany in 1992, Edguy emerged as one of the defining bands of the European power metal movement during the late 1990s and early 2000s. Albums including Vain Glory Opera, Theater of Salvation, Mandrake and Hellfire Club helped establish the band as a favorite among fans of melodic and symphonic metal.

The group's last studio album, Space Police: Defenders of the Crown, arrived in 2014, followed by the 25th anniversary compilation, Monuments, in 2017.

In the years that followed, frontman Tobias Sammet focused almost exclusively on his other successful project, Avantasia, while Edguy quietly entered an extended hiatus.

"I have been working on a new Avantasia record for a while now, and not on a new Edguy record because that’s what feels right to me," Sammet told Brave Words. He also described the process of making Space Police as "extremely exhausting," leaving Edguy's future uncertain.

That uncertainty only deepened earlier this year when Sammet suggested there were no immediate plans for an Edguy reunion, leading many fans to wonder whether the band would ever return.

Now, those questions have finally been answered.

While only one show has been announced so far, the reunion represents Edguy's first concert in 10 years and gives fans hope that more performances could follow.

For a band that helped define modern European power metal, June 2027 promises to be more than just another concert; it marks the return of one of the genre's most beloved acts after nearly a decade away from the stage.

One of the most iconic bands of the 1970s is currently having a major resurgence on the music charts.

Over 40 years after releasing some of their biggest hits, Earth, Wind & Fire has returned to the Billboard 200 with a decades-old compilation album.

According to new Billboard chart standings, Earth, Wind & Fire's 1998 Greatest Hits record has officially re-entered the albums chart, coming in at No. 146 for the week dated June 20. The album now has a total of 42 weeks spent on the chart since its release.

The band put out Greatest Hits in November 1998, 20 years after dropping their first compilation album, The Best of Earth, Wind & FireVol. 1, in 1978. The 1998 record features some of the same tracks originally included on their first collection of biggest hits, including '70s fan-favorites like "September" and "Shining Star," plus other popular tracks that came out after 1978, like 1981's "Let's Groove."

Earth, Wind & Fire had two albums hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200: That's the Way of the World and Gratitude, both of which were released in 1975 and spent three consecutive weeks at the top of the albums chart. The Greatest Hits album debuted on the Billboard 200 in 2011 at No. 116, before later reaching its peak position at No. 40 in 2013.

The album features a total of 17 songs, including all seven of the group's Top 10 hits on the Hot 100. The only song to ever reach the No. 1 position on the Hot 100 is the 1975 track "Shining Star," which is aptly placed as the first track on their Greatest Hits album.

PattonOswalt is ready to reprise his role as Remy in a Ratatouille sequel… on one condition.

This month, Pixar is releasing Toy Story 5, with Incredibles 3, Monsters, Inc. 3, and Coco 2 all in development.

The animation studio has yet to franchise Ratatouille. The 2007 hit film was critically acclaimed and a financial success, making $623 million worldwide and winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Oswalt recently spoke about the potential of a sequel on the Obsessed podcast. 

“Obviously, I’d love if there was a Ratatouille sequel,” the actor and comedian revealed.

Adding, “I want the sequel to be not the same type of movie, but that same energy that Terminator 2 or Aliens had, which is, there’s an expansion of the story that we that we actually need to tell… This isn’t just a money grab. And yes, by the way, we love the money, and we’re gonna grab it, but we’re gonna get the money by telling an amazing story with whole new dimensions that we didn’t even know beforehand.”

But, Oswalt doesn’t want to be the one driving the story. He emphasized the importance of bringing back the original Ratatouille director, BradBird.

“I don’t wanna be the guy going, ‘Hey, what if Remy did this?’ I want it to be one of those ideas that happens that you cannot get away from,” he shared. “I don’t want it to come from us going, ‘All right, let’s get out the legal pads and let’s break down a sequel.’ There are a lot of movies where that’s how they’re done, and it always feels inorganic.”

Ultimately, Oswalt is waiting to welcome a new Ratatouille film if the idea feels genuine.

“There was never gonna be an Incredibles sequel until he thought, ‘Wait a minute. There is a story to tell,’” Oswalt shared about Bird. “So if he gets an idea, that’s the one I wanna do.”

Clearly, it’s not going well for “The Hawk.” And that means Kim needs to take over and model for him. Ferrell turns the camera and, to the sound of applause, Kardashian appears. 

As “The Hawk” tries to recreate Kim’s pose, she says, “Let me add a filter.” What does “The Hawk” think of himself with a filter? He exclaims, “Oh my god, I look amazing. I’m gorgeous.” 

Fans, friends, and plenty of other famous faces commented on Kim’s post. And that’s probably because “The Hawk” added this caption: “My name is Lonnie Hawkins. This is an Instagram post. Please comment if I posted it. Thank you Kim for helping me post. Is this going through? Can people see it. Comment below if you can see this post, Please use all caps.”

Khloe Kardashian wrote, “I love this man,” and the PGA Tour (following the post’s instructions) added, “I CAN SEE THIS POST.”

While some of the biggest hits in music history have been on the long side (like "American Pie" and "Hey Jude"), other songs to climb the charts over the years have been surprisingly brief. In fact, back in 1964, a classic folk track from a pioneering all-female group made history by becoming the shortest single to ever hit the Billboard Hot 100.

Originally written by singer-songwriter Malvina Reynolds in 1962, "Little Boxes" was first recorded by folk icon Pete Seeger and went on to become his only charting single, peaking at #70 in 1964. Seeger's version, which clocks in at just around 2 minutes, was pretty short to begin with. But that same year, another act would release their own take on "Little Boxes" — and that one was even shorter.

Hailing from Los Angeles, California, The Womenfolk were a unique group in the mid-60s, simply because (as the band's name implies), all the members were women. Though they weren't incredibly commercially successful, their cover of "Little Boxes" managed to land at #83 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1964, making history in the process: At just 1 minute and 1 second long, the track became the shortest single to hit the charts...and it held that honor for decades.

To be fair, "Little Boxes" doesn't have a ton of lyrics, so it makes sense that The Womenfolk's cover would be short. In just a few lines, the satirical anthem delivers a scathing sendup of suburbia in a surprisingly upbeat way:

Little boxes on the hillside / Little boxes made of ticky tacky / Little boxes on the hillside / Little boxes all the same / There’s a green one, then a pink one, and a blue one and a yellow one / And they’re all made out of ticky tacky and they all look just the same

(If you're one of the many people who've always casually wondered what "ticky tacky" was but never bothered to find out, it was a term for low-quality materials used to build houses.)

According to Reynolds' daughter, Nancy Schimmel, her mother got the idea for the song when she drove past a row of houses like those described in the song. But since Reynolds was already a singer-songwriter, why didn't she just record the song herself? As Schimmel explained in a 2020 interview with Berkeley Podcast for Music, misogyny in the music industry was mostly to blame.

"[Seeger] had been performing since the ’30s," Schimmel said. "He was a performer. He wasn’t really a songwriter. But there was a prejudice. It was definitely misogyny, but it was particularly against someone of her age. I mean, a man her age would have been okay. But for a woman of her age to try to get into music, she had started out singing folk songs, but as soon as she started writing her own songs, she sang them. And when she started touring in the ’60s, she never sang anything but her own songs."

"She started before there was the term 'singer-songwriter,'" Schimmel added.

"So, you know, she was a woman singing songs she wrote. She has been referred to, and in fact was referred to in one of her obituaries, as a blues singer. She had written a couple blues and she’d written some bluesy songs like 'No Hole in My Head.' But I think maybe it’s because of her age. It’s okay for women blues singers to be older, to be middle-aged. But it’s not OK for women pop singers to be older. They have to be young. And she was as much influenced by the pop music of her time as she was by the folk music. She’d heard both."

While Reynolds might not be a household name today, "Little Boxes" is an impressive legacy — even if it's no longer the shortest song ever to hit the charts. In 2025,Jack Black broke the record for shortest tune ever to make the Billboard Hot 100 with "Steve's Lava Chicken" from the Minecraft movie, lasting just 34 seconds, per NPR.

Fifty-five years ago, the legendary '70s heavy rock band Led Zeppelin released "Black Dog," a song that became a breakthrough radio hit despite never quite capturing the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100.

Released in the U.S. on December 2, 1971 as a single from their landmark fourth studio album Led Zeppelin IV, "Black Dog" quickly became a fan favorite. Upon its release, it entered the Billboard Hot 100, climbing up the chart until it peaked at No. 15 in February 1972. In total, the track spent 12 weeks on the chart.

"Black Dog" originally experienced high listener demand due to its immediate popularity on the airwaves. Because Led Zeppelin rarely released commercial singles in their home country, the song was initially spun by American disc jockeys directly from the album.

Following its U.S. commercial release, the song became a staple on major rock radio stations like WMMR in Philadelphia, KSJO and KOME in the San Francisco Bay Area and WNEW-FM in New York, with many DJs holding an affinity for its high-energy appeal and iconic instrumentation.

Produced by the band's lead guitarist, Jimmy Page, through Atlantic Records, "Black Dog" is most notable for its legendary guitar riff. The riff, written by bassist John Paul Jones while on a train, opens the song with a bang, instantly engaging listeners with its gritty, rhythmically complex melody. The guitar lick repeats throughout the duration of the track, lacing the heavy instrumentation with its earworm quality.

Written by Robert Plant, Page and Jones, "Black Dog" is—contrary to its title—not at all about dogs. The song explores the intoxicating desire to chase a woman's love, utilizing autobiographical lyricism about a passionate night Plant spent with an unexpected partner.

The track's title was originally a casual placeholder named after a black labrador that would hang out on the Headley Grange studio grounds during recording. After a while, the title ended up sticking as the iconic name we know today.

Over five decades after its release, "Black Dog" continues to resonate with audiences. In the digital era, the song perseveres on streaming platforms, racking up over 490 million streams on Spotify alone—a testament to the track's unique enduring quality.

So, it should come as no surprise that 40 years later, the band are returning to their roots with a full-length studio album dedicated almost entirely to covering some of music’s greatest artists. We use the word almost, because the 14-track tribute kicks off with a Tesla original.

Unveiled today, along with a polished new music video, “Never Alone” is a heartfelt, acoustic-driven rock anthem akin to Tesla’s 1989 smash, “Love Song.” Inspired by the band’s first tribute album, Real to Reel, released nearly 20 years ago, the song was written by bassist Brian Wheat and bridges the band’s storied four-decade career with a universal message of human connection. 

In a chat with Blabbermouth, Wheat reveals that he wrote the song “in the 11th hour” of recording Homage, while at celebrity cook Rachael Ray and musician John Cusimano’s home. 

“It started out as a simple guitar riff,” he says. “I picked up John's acoustic guitar and started strumming these chords to kill some time. When I listened back to it, it sounded like a Tesla song.”

From there, he and frontman Jeff Keith added the finishing touches and ended up with a track that “turned out pretty good,” he says. He adds that they recorded the song, because they want their fans to know they’re “never alone.”

The lead single prefaces a slew of covers paying homage to truly the greatest artists of our time. From Sam Cooke’s “Bring It On Home” and Lynyrd Skynyrd’s “The Ballad of Curtis Loew,” to Etta James’ “I’d Rather Go Blind” and Queen’s “Spread Your Wings,” the album transcends time and genres. “‘Spread Your Wings’ for me was the song I always wanted to record by Queen,” Wheat said in May, per Blabbermouth. “I always felt it was the one song they had in their catalog that should've been a massive hit, but wasn't because it was overshadowed by 'We Are the Champions' and 'We Will Rock You' on the News of the World album.”

Homage is set for a July 17 release date via Frontiers Music Srl. Touted as a “thank-you expressed through music,” the LP gives Keith the stage to show off his vocals and the band an opportunity to celebrate the legendary artists who helped shape Tesla into the multi-platinum rock band they are today.

36 years ago today, on June 16, 1990, Roxette’s soaring pop classic, “It Must Have Been Love,” became a massive international No. 1 hit for the Swedish pop duo, made up of Marie Fredriksson and Per Gessle. 

The beloved track about lost love was written by Gessle, and reached the top of the all-genre Billboard Hot 100 chart, where it stayed for two weeks before getting replaced by New Kids on the Block’s “Step by Step.” 

But “It Must Have Been Love” may have never achieved that success had it not been for a few minor changes, which ultimately added to its universal appeal. 

Originally released as a standalone single in December of 1987, “It Must Have Been Love”, according to American Songwriter, was first written as a Christmas song per a request given by the duo’s EMI record label. 

Initially titled “It Must Have Been Love (Christmas for the Broken Hearted),” the song, which now exists in five different versions, became a Top 5 hit in Sweden before it was later re-worked specifically for the soundtrack of the 1990 romantic comedyPretty Woman, starring Julia Roberts and Richard Gere. 

Slightly altering the mix, eliminating the holiday theme, and adjusting the title to the shortened: “It Must Have Been Love,” paid off for the act as their song went on to make waves outside of their home country, reaching No. 1 in Canada, Denmark, Australia, Norway, Switzerland, Spain, Zimbabwe, as well as in the U.S. 

“It Must Have Been Love,” which appears on the duo's 1997 re-released album Pearls of Passion, is highly regarded as Roxette’s signature song. The track serves as one of four songs that topped the Billboard Hot 100 in the U.S. The other three tracks include “Listen to Your Heart,” “The Look,” and “Joyride.”

The Who is playing favorites, naming original band member John Entwistle the world's greatest bass player. Known by the nicknames "Thunderfingers" and "The Ox," Entwistle helped redefine the role of the bassist, transforming it from a background instrument into a technically demanding and integral part of rock music. The music legend died in 2002, but his impact is still felt today, and his status as one of the greatest bass players ever remains secure, at least according to his former bandmates.

John Entwistle was an original member of The Who alongside Roger Daltrey, Pete Townshend, and Keith Moon. A childhood friend of Townshend, the two began making music together as early as age 10.

Country music fans got an unexpected highlight at Braves Country Fest when Ella Langley and Cody Johnson joined forces to perform Reba McEntire’s classic hit “Whoever’s in New England.”

The surprise duet took place during Johnson’s set at Truist Park in Atlanta on June 13 and quickly became one of the most talked-about moments of the festival. 

Originally released in 1986, “Whoever’s in New England” served as the title track of Reba McEntire’s breakthrough album of the same name. The song reached No. 1 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and became one of the defining records of McEntire’s career. It also earned her a Grammy Award for Best Female Country Vocal Performance and received Country Music Association nominations for Single of the Year and Music Video of the Year.

Langley and Johnson’s version introduced the classic ballad to a new generation of listeners while honoring the emotional storytelling that made the original recording a country music landmark.

The collaboration was especially meaningful given Johnson’s history with the song. The country star previously recorded an acoustic version of “Whoever’s in New England” in 2020. In 2023, McEntire herself joined Johnson onstage at CMA Fest to perform the track together.

At Braves Country Fest, Johnson welcomed Langley for a fresh interpretation of the classic, creating a moment that immediately resonated with fans in attendance and across social media.

The duet stood out among a lineup that also included performances from Ernest, Mackenzie Carpenter, Scoot Teasley, Zach John King and Colton Bowlin. The event benefited the Atlanta Braves Foundation.

Ella Langley’s Record-Breaking Year Continues

The performance arrives during a historic run for Langley, who has become one of country music’s fastest-rising stars.

Her hit single “Choosin’ Texas” has dominated the charts throughout 2026. The song spent 10 weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and established a new Hot Country Songs record for the longest-leading hit by a woman without additional credited recording artists since the chart became the genre’s primary songs ranking in 1958.

Langley’s success has extended beyond a single hit. She recently became the first female country artist to simultaneously hold three songs inside the top 10 of Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. Her current chart presence includes “Be Her,” “Choosin’ Texas” and her collaboration with Morgan Wallen, “I Can’t Love You Anymore.”

The Alabama native also collected several major honors at the Academy of Country Music Awards, including Female Artist of the Year, Artist-Songwriter of the Year, Song of the Year and Single of the Year.

Just days before the Braves Country Fest appearance, Langley joined Reba McEntire and Miranda Lambert for ELLE’s Three Generations conversation, where the artists discussed songwriting, mentorship, and the growing support system among women in country music.

During that discussion, Langley reflected on the challenges women can face in the industry.

“I think, you know, sometimes being a woman is a little tougher to get crawl up the chain,” Langley said. “But when we all do it together, you know what I mean? [We’re] lot more powerful in numbers.”

Forty years after Reba McEntire turned “Whoever’s in New England” into a signature hit, Ella Langley and Cody Johnson reminded country music fans why the song remains one of the genre’s most enduring classics.

BIGBANG's record label, YG Entertainment, announced some exciting news.

The Korean boy band will be embarking on their 20/26 World Tour across North America, Europe, Asia and Australia starting this August to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The tour, which is their first one since 2017, will kick off with three nights at Goyang Stadium in Seoul, South Korea, from Aug. 21 to 23.

The string of concerts will continue at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Sept. 5, then in New Jersey's MetLife Stadium six days later. BIGBANG will also be making stops in France, England, Singapore, Vietnam, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia and more throughout the fall and winter. The 31-date tour will conclude after two nights in Taiwan's Kaohsiung National Stadium on Feb 27 and 28, 2027.

"The landmark tour represents one of the most significant live music events of 2026 for global fans and a historic new chapter for one of the most influential groups in modern music,” said a statement issued by their promoter, AEG Presents.

So far, instructions on how to purchase tickets to their two United States dates and two European shows have been released. Presale for these concerts will take place on June 24, with the general sale following on June 26. Fans must sign up for the presale via BIGBANG’s official b.stage platform before Sunday night.

BIGBANG is a South Korean boy band formed by the record label and talent agency YG Entertainment, who are also behind the groups BLACKPINK, BABYMONSTER, TREASURE and more. The group consists of three members: G-Dragon, Taeyang and Daesung. Originally a five-piece band, Seungri retired from the entertainment industry in March 2019, and T.O.P left the group in May 2023. BIGBANG has been known as the "Kings of K-Pop" because they helped spread the Korean Wave internationally and are considered one of the most influential acts in the K-pop industry.

The pop group released their debut album, BigBang Vol.1, in 2006. Though it didn't have the greatest reception during its release, a string of singles, including "Lies," topped the Korean charts. From 2009 to 2016, BIGBANG released four studio albums that were very successful in Japan. BIGBANG has a total of eight studio albums, three of which are Korean and five of which are Japanese. Two of their albums — Alive (2012) and Made (2016) entered the Billboard 200, with Alive being the first Korean-language album to make the chart.

At 75 years old, Kurt Russell is enjoying his time on TV.

The actor recently spoke to Deadlineat the Monte-Carlo TV Festival, where he received the prestigious Crystal Nymph award.

“I hadn’t done any television for over 50 years when I did Monarch, and then TheMadison,” the actor shared.

He currently stars as Preston Clyburn in Paramount+'s 2026 series The Madison. It follows a family after they suffer a difficult tragedy and move from New York City to the Madison River Valley of Central Montana.

“You keep finding yourself saying, ‘I know that moment,’ or ‘I know those people,’” he said.

“It’s really an adult-themed show, because you can’t really appreciate [the story] until you have something like that happen to you at a certain time in your life,” he said. “I’ve never done anything like The Madison in terms of how it hits people.”

The show was created by Taylor Sheridan, who also made Yellowstone, 1883, and Lioness. Russell admires the relatability of his work. Adding the showrunner attracts “the silent majority.”

The Madison stars Michelle Pfeiffer, Kurt Russell, BeauGarrett, Patrick J. Adams, and ElleChapman.

The Tombstone actor spoke highly of his castmates as well.

“Very few people have the opportunity to have a wonderful 40-year marriage, but where you had no idea how wonderful it was, like Michelle’s character [Stacy Clyburn]. How do you show that, how do you talk about that? She’s so wrought with not just guilt, but angst and anger at herself for not getting all of him,” he said.

The neo-Western series has seen commercial success, debuting with 8 million views worldwide. It was Sheridan’s most-watched season launch.

Russell reflected on how his previous projects performed.

“A lot of the movies that I did that became truly beloved or cult classics were just dead on arrival, or they didn’t do very well [at first]. Had it not been for DVDs, my career would have been completely different,” he said. “I probably have 12 or 15 movies that are in the zeitgeist [and] people love, not from the release of the movie, but from finding it years later.”

Lisa Vanderpump has built an empire around hospitality, but her newest venture is arguably her biggest yet.

The Vanderpump Rulesmatriarch and restaurateur recently opened The Vanderpump Hotel in Las Vegas, transforming the former Cromwell into something much more, well, Lisa.

While fans may associate Vanderpump with extravagant, maximalist décor and over-the-top menus, she says the real challenge wasn't choosing statement pieces, it was obsessing over the details guests might never notice.

"Everything," Vanderpump tells Parade about what she weighed in on throughout the design process. "Down to the valet parker's badge on his left shoulder. I mean, everything."

According to Vanderpump, she and husband Ken Todd personally oversaw thousands of decisions throughout the project, from staff uniforms and color palettes to lighting and room layouts.

"There were probably a thousand decisions," she explains. "The cohesiveness, trying to make it all work together."

She says she focused on creating rooms that feel like a retreat from the sensory overload of the Las Vegas Strip.

"When you open the door, you feel like, 'Oh,'" she shares. "And I like that. That's what we went for."

Vanderpump even jokes that she prioritizes guest comfort so much at home that visitors sometimes overstay their welcome.

"I pay great attention to the guest bedrooms to make sure they're really comfortable, which is probably like a rod for my own back, because when they're too comfortable, they stay too long," she laughs.

That philosophy ultimately shaped the entire hotel experience. From British-inspired décor in the lobby to personalized touches throughout the property, Vanderpump wanted guests to feel less like they were checking into a massive Las Vegas resort and more like they were stepping into someone's carefully curated home.

"I think this whole hotel, when you check into the lobby, you feel like you're almost in somebody's home," she tells Parade.

For Vanderpump, that's the true luxury. Not just extravagance, but making guests feel comfortable the moment they walk through the door. And I got to experience this hospitality myself. Here's my honest review of The Vanderpump Hotel.

Where Is The Vanderpump Hotel in Las Vegas?

Lisa Vanderpump jokes that The Vanderpump Hotel sits on the “fifty yard line” of the Las Vegas Strip, and she’s right. The hotel is situated between The Flamingo and Paris resorts, and across the street from the iconic Bellagio fountains and Caesars Palace. 

Many activities and restaurants are within a 15-minute walking distance, including easy walkability to all of the Vanderpump Vegas bars and restaurants.

What Was The Vanderpump Hotel Called Before? 

Prior to its revamp, The Vanderpump Hotel was called The Cromwell, but the hotel space itself has had several iterations in its lifetime. 

The hotel has been a mainstay on the Las Vegas Strip since 1979 when it originally opened as Barbary Coast. In 2007 the hotel was acquired by Harrah’s and became Bill’s Gambling Hall & Saloon. It went through major renovations in 2013 before reopening as The Cromwell in 2014.

This makes The Vanderpump Hotel the fourth iteration of the hotel.

The Vanderpump Hotel may be rated as a 4-star hotel, but the plushness of the towels is very much giving 5-stars. We should expect nothing less from someone as fancy as Lisa Vanderpump, of course!

The beds are plush, yet firm, the perfect balance to avoid back pain, but maximize comfort. It doesn’t hurt that the hotel provides nightly turn-down service. There’s something about climbing into a freshly made bed that feels like perfection.

The hotel features 188 guest rooms, including several pet-friendly rooms. There are 167 standard guest rooms and 21 suites.

Decor-wise, the hotel rooms are a nice reprieve from the chaos that is Vegas. While much of the hotel is moody and “sexy” as Vanderpump says, the rooms are meant to elicit a sense of serenity. They’re decorated in dusty purples, greens and whites and all of the furniture is bespoke by Vanderpump’s business partner Nick Alain. 

The bathrooms are spacious and feature a rainfall showerhead and large, glass standing shower.

"I wanted the turn-down service. I wanted the chocolate on the bed. I wanted the plush bathrobe. I wanted room service," Vanderpump tells Parade. "I could tick every one of those boxes."

Room Service

The Vanderpump Hotel has proper room service delivered from Giada, the Italian restaurant by Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis. While many Vegas hotels have opted for a service more like Uber Eats or Doordash with paper bags dropped by your door, The Vanderpump has full-on room service, silver trays and real silverware included.

Pool

The hotel features a rooftop pool named Soleia Beach. It’s a large pool with sweeping views of The Strip. There are cabanas and daybeds available for rental, along with plenty of lounge chairs. This isn’t where you’re going to find that “party” vibe—instead, think ambient music versus an EDM DJ set.

Prior to The Vanderpump Hotel’s opening, Soleia Beach was Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub. Drai’s vibe was much higher energy, with hip hop DJ sets.

Nightlife

If you’re looking for more of a party, Drai’s After Hours nightclub is located in the basement of the property. It’s a swanky lounge environment with red crocodile-patterned seats, disco balls and a DJ keeping the dance floor going. It’s also a Las Vegas staple—it’s the longest-running nightclub in the city.

The Vanderpump Hotel property once had two Drai’s properties—Drai’s After Hours and Drai’s Beachclub & Nightclub. The rooftop pool beachclub has since been changed to Soleia Beach.

Does The Vanderpump Hotel Have a Spa?

Being a boutique hotel, the footprint is quite a bit smaller than some of the monstrosities along The Strip. This means The Vanderpump Hotel doesn’t have a spa of its own. But have no fear! There are plenty of spas within walking distance of the hotel.

We highly recommend QUA Baths & Spa at Caesars Palace for mind-blowing massages, a variety of pools, and contrast thermal therapy.

Where To Eat and Drink When Staying at The Vanderpump Hotel

Gigolo

Lisa Vanderpump’s cocktail menus are always spectacular and Gigolo, the lobby bar at The Vanderpump Hotel, is no exception. The menu features Vanderpump classics like the Pumptini, as well as fun new takes on cocktails.

Gigolo is best for a snack or appetizer. They serve caviar and a snack plate with dip, homemade potato chips and churro almonds.

One standout is Gigolo’s signature cocktail, the Hush Hush, a spicy strawberrymargarita that requires you to write a secret and tuck it away in a locked box.

Giada

There’s one main restaurant on property at The Vanderpump Hotel, Giada. The restaurant itself is very good, with decadent pasta dishes (like cacio e pepe served inside a cheese wheel!) The restaurant also features some of the best views of the strip, including the faux Eiffel Tower at the Paris Hotel.

Starbucks

Aside from Giada, there is a Starbucks serving baked goods and egg bites and the like. It’s good for a quick breakfast, but be warned! Las Vegas Starbucks pricing will even give a New Yorker pause. 

Nearby Restaurants

Conveniently, the hotel is located just steps from Pinky’s by Vanderpump, the pink and green art deco bar and restaurant. They’re excellent for a brunch or dinner option. It’s a must for bachelorette parties hitting the Strip.

Other nearby favorites include Nobu for sushi and fish dishes that are to die for. The Black Cod Miso is a 10/10. There are two Nobu locations within walking distance of The Vanderpump Hotel, one at Caesars Palace and one at Paris.

Stanton Social Prime is an Italian steakhouse with stunning decor. You can really ball out here with a seafood tower and tomahawk steak (which they light on fire in front of you!) or keep it simpler with one of their decadent pastas. Stanton Social Prime is just across the street from The Vanderpump Hotel at Caesars Palace.

How Much Does It Cost To Stay at The Vanderpump Hotel?

Pricing for the hotel is as low as $130/night, but can go all the way up to $550+ on a busy weekend. Weeknight pricing seems to hover around $200/night. If you’re catching it on the lower end of pricing, it’s a great deal for the money.

If you are a Bravo or Lisa Vanderpump fan, a stay at The Vanderpump Hotel is a must. We’re betting BravoCon 2027 is about to be booked and busy! 

If you’re not a Bravo fan, per se, but are looking for a nice hotel with loads of glam at a fair price-point, The Vanderpump Hotel is still a great option for you. Between its prime location, in-house amenities and excellent lobby bar, it’s an easy win.

The album's latest placement adds another chapter to one of the most remarkable chart runs in rock history. According to Billboard data, Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits has now spent 802 weeks on the Billboard 200, making it one of the longest-charting albums ever.

The collection reached a peak position of No. 18 on the charts during its chart run and continues to outperform many newer releases, decades after its initial release.

Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits was designed as a complete collection of the band's biggest chart successes. The compilation includes 20 songs, featuring 13 A-sides and seven B-sides from Creedence Clearwater Revival's peak years.

Among the tracks included are classics such as "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Down on the Corner," "Fortunate Son," "Travelin' Band," "Who'll Stop the Rain," "Up Around the Bend," "Lookin' Out My Back Door" and "Have You Ever Seen the Rain?"

The band's commercial success during the late 1960s and early 1970s remains impressive. Creedence Clearwater Revival scored 16 songs on the Billboard Hot 100, including nine Top 10 hits. Several of their best-known singles narrowly missed the top spot, with songs such as "Proud Mary," "Bad Moon Rising," "Green River," "Travelin' Band/Who'll Stop the Rain" and "Lookin' Out My Back Door/Long As I Can See The Light" all reaching No. 2.

The compilation also features an edited version of "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," which was released as a single at the same time as the album in 1976.

The album's staying power has become one of the defining parts of Creedence Clearwater Revival's legacy.

Chronicle: The 20 Greatest Hits is certified 12-times Platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), representing at least 12 million certified units in the United States. It remains the best-selling release in the band's catalog.

The collection has maintained a steady presence on the Billboard 200 for years. It surpassed the 600-week milestone in 2022 and crossed the 750-week mark in June 2025. Now, with 802 total weeks on the chart, the album continues to attract listeners long after the band's original run ended.

Creedence Clearwater Revival was formed in El Cerrito, California, and consisted of John Fogerty, Tom Fogerty, Stu Coop  and Doug Clifford. The group became one of America's most successful rock acts between 1969 and 1971, producing a string of hit singles and albums that helped define the roots rock sound.

Their influence continues to be recognized decades later. Rolling Stone ranked the band among its greatest artists of all time, while songs such as "Fortunate Son," "Proud Mary," "Who'll Stop the Rain" and "Bad Moon Rising" remain staples of classic rock radio.

As the album rises once again on the Billboard 200, Creedence Clearwater Revival's music continues to find a place alongside today's biggest releases.

After screenshots began circulating online, claiming to be past comments made by Jen Hamilton, the labor and delivery nurse called them out as fake.

"Someone is creating fake screenshots of me saying horrible things," Hamilton shared via Instagram on Tuesday, June 16. "I have never and would never say anything like this. Please report any posts you see about this."

The comment in question was regarding political differences between nurses and patients.

While Hamilton previously endorsed former Vice President Kamala Harris and Tim Walz during the 2024 presidential election, she made it clear that political affiliation did not change the way she treats her patients.

"The second thing that I mentioned is very important to me is my patients and the ability of my patients to make the decisions that they need to make for themselves," she said in a September 2024 TikTok video, adding, "even if I don't agree."

The update comes just one day after the influencer confirmed her separation from husband Brian Hamilton.

"Yes, we are separating. This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship," she shared on Monday. "What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center."

The joint statement continued, "We are hoping our paths diverging in physical location will make space and room for mental healing for the other. We are still committed to being a team…This wasn’t a falling out of love. That’s why this is so devastating. It was about recognizing that sometimes the most loving thing you can do is give someone space to figure out complex things. And that’s exactly what we are doing."

The couple tied the knot in August 2012 after meeting while working as camp counselors. They welcomed two sons throughout their 14-year marriage.

Samantha Busch is sharing the "signs" she believes late husband Kyle Busch is sending her and how they've been bringing her "comfort" since his tragic death at the age of 41 last month.

Three weeks after the NASCAR driver died on May 21 following a case of bacterial pneumonia that progressed into sepsis, his wife took to her Instagram with a heartfelt message about feeling his presence even after his passing.

Thanking her followers for sharing their memories of Kyle over the past few weeks, Samantha said she wanted to share "some moments that brought me comfort over these unimaginably hard weeks."

Samantha explained that after 11-year-old son Brexton's birthday party in mid-May, Kyle had taken off his sandals in their bathroom, and that no one had ever moved them. (The couple also shares 4-year-old daughter Lennix.)

"About a week after he passed, I had one of the hardest nights yet. Most of the night, I spent sobbing, wishing I could feel his arms wrapped around me one more time," Samantha continued. "I finally gave up on sleeping and walked into our bathroom. There, shining directly across Kyle’s sandals, was a rainbow."

Sharing a photo of the rainbow across Kyle's sandals, Samatha wrote that the discovery gave her a sense of peace, "like he was giving [her] a sign."

Despite understanding "exactly how [the rainbow] happened scientifically," Samantha explained that she had never seen a rainbow appear in that location before, let alone one that was "that bright and vibrant."

In another special moment, Samantha said she spotted a bird flying around during her church's service, and at one point, "it flew over to where I was sitting, tilted its head sideways, looked right at me, and then flew away," before later visiting again near her feet.

"It feels like God is reminding me that I’m not alone and that Kyle is letting me know he’s okay, that he’s close, and that somehow he’s still walking beside us," she concluded.
