Nikki Glaser Laughs Off On-Air Wardrobe Malfunction on 'Live With Kelly and Mark'

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 8:01am

Like a perfect roast comic, Nikki Glaser leaned into a recent wardrobe malfunction during an appearance on Live With Kelly and Mark.

Unaware she was flashing hosts Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos (and the audience), Ripa called it out during Glaser’s April 22 live appearance: “You can see your underpants.”

“It’s just for you,” Glaser quickly quipped, adjusting her dress. “Right down the barrel. Sorry, guys.”

Ripa, never missing a beat, replied, “We don’t mind at all,” prompting Glaser to fire back, “I’ll send you a picture later.”

This wasn’t the first wardrobe mishap to hit the Live stage. During a March 2025 episode, Consuelos’ pants zipper was down mid-segment—something he himself ended up calling out while playing the fan-favorite “Stump Mark” game with Ripa.

“Wait, did anybody notice that?” Ripa asked mid-banter.

Consuelos laughed it off before admitting, “My fly was down the whole time,” later joking the moment was karma for calling his brother an “overachiever.”

And according to Ripa, former cohost Ryan Seacrest had his own history of on-air wardrobe issues. She said Seacrest would “constantly” split his pants on set, with the tighter fits leading to mishaps during more “athletic things.”

“You should make sure you have a cotton crotch,” Consuelos added, joking, “I heard that [the] previous guy here, Ryan Seacrest, would split his pants here a lot!”

Despite his exit, Seacrest has said he remains close with Ripa. “We're extremely close, we're very good friends, we'll remain good friends,” he told E! News. “But there's that hour of communicating with somebody… you laugh, and then, of course, you can't remember what you said to each other. So, I'll miss that part.”

Leighton Meester Talks 'Lucky' 20-Year Legacy of 'Gossip Girl,' What It Still Means Today (Exclusive)

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 8:01am

Actress and singer Leighton Meester has many exciting projects currently in the works, from her recent appearance in Nobody Wants Thisto her upcoming rom-com alongside Jared Padalecki, Guarding Stars. However, the star also took some time to reflect on both her recent milestone birthday and the 20th anniversary of her hit show Gossip Girl in 2027.

"I was very young when I started and even when I finished that show," Meester said. "In many ways, I feel like it continues to have a life, which is really lucky because a lot of the time you do a show and you never really hear about it again, no matter how amazing you feel it was or how wonderful the experience was."

Meester continued, "People who weren't even born yet when it came out [now] watching it...it must seem so retro to them. But yeah, it was a huge part of my early 20s, and when I really think about those memories, I'm like, yeah, that seems like about 20 years ago, which is amazing to be privileged enough to reflect on something that happened 20 years ago."

"I think it's very comforting for people," she added.

Of her ongoing career, Meester said, "I'm so grateful to still be working, and being able to express myself in my line of work is just so incredibly lucky."

On April 9, Meester also celebrated her 40th birthday, which likewise gave her time to reflect—although she is also looking ahead, particularly thinking about learning to golf.

"I really want to take up golf, so I think I'm going to maybe do a lesson or go with some friends and play a game. I don't, obviously, really know how to play, but I'm interested in that," Meester explained of her birthday plans. "Being 40, it's a good, solid number. I feel gorgeous and vibrant and strong and healthy and grateful and surrounded by love."

"I just reject the notion in our culture that's impressed upon us that an age is part of someone's value. It has nothing to do with it. I think every human being is valuable, and my goal in life, if I can influence it at all, which, the truth is, I have no control. But, if I can control anything, I would love to be old. I want to live a really long time, if I can," Meester said of aging.

"It's coming for us all, if we're lucky," she said.

Meester has also partnered with Godiva once again, this time in celebration of the chocolatier's 100th anniversary.

Leighton Meester narrates a 2D animated film for Godiva's 100th anniversary.

Godiva

"I'm a huge chocolate lover, and also, even growing up, I was a fan of Godiva. I always got it as my Christmas gift under the tree. And a box of chocolates, it really just fills my heart and makes me feel happy. I'm really so proud and honored to be working with Godiva. I think it's the best," Meester said of the partnership.

The collaboration includes Meester narrating a 2D animated film, depicting vignettes of celebrations of which Godiva has been a part. For it, Meester reprised her role as Lady Godiva.

To celebrate their 100th anniversary, Godiva has released a limited-time Centennial Collection, comprising an assortment of 10 chocolates that reflect the brand's history.

‘Perfect Crown’ Is Hulu’s Hottest New Obsession. Here’s Why It Should Be Your Next Binge

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 8:00am

If you haven't been watching Perfect Crown on Hulu, what are you waiting for? The newest KDrama has been heating up screens across the globe, making the new series a hit worldwide. Headlining the series are pop singer-turned-actress IU and actor/model Byeon Woo-seok, the latter looking every bit the prince he plays in the series.

🎬 SIGN UP for Parade’s Daily newsletter to get the latest pop culture news & celebrity interviews delivered right to your inbox 🎬

The series, which airs on Hulu in the US and on Disney+ worldwide, follows the people’s favorite royal, Grand Prince I-AN (Byeon), as he becomes embroiled in a power struggle with other members of the royal family. With pressure on the prince to wed, he strikes up a marriage of convenience with Huiju (IU), the fashion exec heir of a Korean conglomerate, but as the pair work together to advance their own agendas, emotions begin to flare, and things don’t go quite as smoothly as they planned.

Fun Fact: IU’s stage name was conceived by her management company and means, “I and You become one through music.”

The prince and fashion exec share a history as they went to the same private school together and competed against each other in class and sports (think Hogwarts and the different Houses). There's also Prime Minister Min (Noh Sang-hyun), another classmate who was in the same House as Huiju and always had a crush on her.

Even if their relationship is fake, they have an uphill battle as the power-hungry Queen Mother (Gong Seung-yeon) opposes the relationship and will do anything to ensure her son ascends the throne. It also seems she wants to make sure Grand Prince I-AN doesn't marry for love, so we wonder if she chose one brother over another when deciding to choose between position and power over love and happiness.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, the series was the biggest KDrama premiere for Disney+ to date. Perfect Crown premiered on Friday, Apr. 10, releasing two episodes over consecutive nights. Subsequently, the series drops two episodes weekly over consecutive nights on Fridays and Saturdays, and each episode is more fiery than the last. Without giving anything away, Episode 4 is a definite cliffhanger. Make sure you're watching the epilogues at the end of each episode, after the credits. The tags add a little something to the episode that enhances a particular scene or gives additional meaning to what is going on between the Grand Prince and Huiju.

Not only is the series romantic, but it's funny as well. KDramas usually have a great balance of the two. Byeon and IU have a palpable chemistry, but even though the two have not been linked romantically, they definitely have a playful nature between them. In Episode 3 of the series, the Grand Prince brings Huiju back to his private residence after she has been relentlessly harassed following the news of their relationship. With the unexpected guest in the residence and to keep up appearances, Huiju must spend the night with the prince in his quarters.

First, take a look at the finished scene below:

In this additional behind-the-scenes clip, Byeon Woo-seok tells IU not to make any weird noises while he's carrying her. We imagine he doesn't want to get distracted or start laughing and accidentally drop her!

Perfect Crown is available to stream in the U.S. on Hulu and available to stream internationally on Disney+. Episodes drop weekly on Friday and Saturday.

Prego Wants to Record Your Dinner Conversations — And People Have Thoughts

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:59am

Prego has been in the pasta sauce game since 1981. This week, it introduced a dinner table recording device, and the internet is still trying to process that.

On Monday, April 20, The Campbell's Company announced that Prego had partnered with StoryCorps — the national nonprofit dedicated to recording and preserving the stories of everyday Americans — to create something called the Connection Keeper.

It's a small, hockey puck-shaped audio recording device designed to sit in the center of the dinner table and capture family conversations with the press of a single button. No screen, no Wi-Fi, no Bluetooth, no AI. Just two spatial audio microphones, a 16GB microSD card that holds up to eight hours of recording, and a USB-C cable for transferring files.

The device is part of a $20 limited-edition bundle that includes a jar of Prego Traditional Pasta Sauce, a box of spaghetti, conversation prompt cards, and a step-by-step guide. Only 100 bundles are being produced, and they go on sale April 27 at pregoconnectionkeeper.com. Starting May 4, families can upload recordings to a dedicated StoryCorps portal and, if they choose, archive them at the Library of Congress.

"Through our partnership with StoryCorps, we're inviting families to slow down, reconnect, and preserve the warmth, laughter, and real conversations that turn everyday meals into lasting memories," said Jaime Zagami, Prego's Director of Marketing, in a statement.

StoryCorps CEO Sandra Clark added, "We believe listening is a profound way to honor and connect with our loved ones — and that some of the most meaningful stories are shared in everyday moments, like around the table."

It took approximately zero seconds for the internet to have thoughts.

"April fools day was weeks ago you know," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).

"Imagine this is how you get caught for admitting to a crime," another joked.

"Mamma mia they're-a doing a surveillance state oh!" chimed in a third.

"Why on god's green earth would anyone want this?" someone else asked.

"It's just gonna capture me eating cold spaghetti and meatballs out of a frankly ruined tupperware, standing in the kitchen with a mild hangover at 0845 on a Saturday,” said another.

They would not approve! pic.twitter.com/Y4dzZIDmec

— bkmbooks (@bkmbooks) April 21, 2026

Fast Company called it "one of the weirdest brand collaborations of 2026." Others raised privacy concerns, questioning whether a $20 device with no internet connection could truly guarantee recordings stay private. Prego has said the device does not collect data or connect to the cloud, and that families have full control over who accesses their recordings.

StoryCorps, for its part, has been doing this kind of work since 2003. The nonprofit has recorded over 720,000 people across all 50 states, and its archive at the Library of Congress is the largest single collection of human voices ever gathered. The Connection Keeper is its first consumer device partnership with a food brand.

Lorne Michaels: The Man Behind 'SNL' Takes Center Stage in New Documentary

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:50am

The stars of Saturday Night Live have spent decades in the spotlight, but the man who built the late-night comedy sketch series into a cultural institution has always preferred to stay just out of frame.

Lorne Michaels is the subject of a new documentary, Lorne. The film offers fans a rare look at how SNL was built and the creative force that shaped it.

Lorne was created by Morgan Neville, the Academy Award-winning filmmaker of 20 Feet from Stardom and Won't You Be My Neighbor? He created a documentary that utilizes archival footage, exclusive footage, and interviews with some of SNL's most iconic cast members and writers including Tina Fey, Maya Rudolph, John Mulaney, Andy Samberg, Conan O’Brien, Chris Rock and many others who got their start on the series.

In a trailer, Michaels gives an unprecedented look at his life, SNL's creation, and why he believes the show is still as relevant today as it was when it made its late-night debut in 1975.

He tells the cameras, "People have this idea that they know me." This led into a statement from Chris Rock, who joked, "For all I know, he works for the CIA."

The trailer leans into the mystery surrounding the SNL creator. Cast members from the past and present added their impressions of their boss.

Sarah Sherman stated, "I think his favorite band is Nirvana." Maya Rudolph added, "There is a folkloric quality about 'Who is Lorne?'"

"He has this mystique about him," said Kristen Wiig. "Everything about this guy is so weird and interesting," John Mullaney exclaimed.

However, the trailer doesn't really address who Michaels is, leaving that for viewers to realize upon seeing the documentary. Rather it shows the television legend in a series of personal and professional moments where he doesn't speak directly to the cameras.

But, in an interview for the Los Angeles premiere of the film, he sat down to try and demystify the myths that have surrounded him for over 50 years.

"From the beginning and this, I don't mean to sound as earnest as it will, but I thought what we were doing was important," he revealed. "I don't think I could have done it without that belief."

"And it turns out, after fifty years, it was important. But the essential thing we do...just turns out it still matters," Michaels added. "That's the surprising thing."

Per Variety, Michaels executive produces Saturday Night Live, The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, and Late Night With Seth Meyers. He has also produced the feature films Wayne’s World, Mean Girls and The Three Amigos!

Lorne is currently in theaters.

1982 Classic Was a No. 1 Hit 43 Years Ago Today

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:33am

On April 23, 1983, a song that sounded unlike anything else on pop radio climbed to the top of the Billboard Hot 100—and, more than four decades later, it still gets entire rooms singing along within seconds.

The song was "Come On Eileen" by Dexys Midnight Runners, and its one-week run at No. 1 cemented it as one of the most recognizable hits of the 1980s. Despite the short run, it reached a major milestone with the exciting accomplishment.

The week ending April 23, 1983, saw “Come On Eileen” knock "Billie Jean" by Michael Jackson out of the top spot on the Billboard chart after a seven-week run. The next week, Jackson was back on top with one of his other most well-known tracks, "Beat It." Considering the song's competition at the time, it was even more impressive that "Come On Eileen" held the spot at all.

Related: ’70s Rock Band Announce Update For "Final" Tour

"Come On Eileen" was released in the U.K. in 1982 as part of the band’s album Too-Rye-Ay, but it wasn't released in the United States until January of the next year. Frontman Kevin Rowland co-wrote the song with bandmates Jim Paterson and Billy Adams, crafting a track that felt both nostalgic and fresh.

Opening up about the band's music in an enlightening 2014 interview with The Guardian, Rowland said about the subject of the song, "For years I told everyone that Eileen was my childhood girlfriend. In fact she was composite, to make a point about Catholic repression."

In the U.S., "Come On Eileen" really gave Dexys Midnight Runners, an English band, the status of one-hit wonders. But at the same time, the band had quite a few popular songs that charted high in the U.K., with their first No. 1 hit in 1980 with the song "Geno."

Even though many international fans might only be familiar with "Come On Eileen," the song's impact on its own is monumental, and over 40 years after its release, it's still a timeless anthem.

Kate Hudson Has Built a Fab Net Worth (Thanks in Part to Fabletics)

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:30am

Kate Hudson has the rare ability to win audiences over with just a smile. That's the kind of charisma that can’t be taught or manufactured.

Although she was born into a famous family and could easily be written off as a nepo baby, Hudson has proved time and time again that she has the talent and charm to stand on her own. From hit movies like Almost Famous and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days to brand deals and even a music career, Hudson has become Hollywood royalty.

Over the years, the Shell star used all that talent and charm to accrue her own fortune, but just how much wealth has she amassed from her film career and other projects like Fabletics?

Here's everything you need to know about Kate Hudson's finances, including her net worth in 2026.

How did Kate Hudson become famous?

Kate Hudson has fame in her blood. Raised by superstar parents Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, it seems her journey to the spotlight was written in the stars.

Kate always had some interest in performing, but it wasn’t until 1998 that she made her film debut in the drama Desert Blue. It didn’t take Hudson long to catch the public eye, and by 2001, she nabbed an Academy Award nomination for her supporting role in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous.

From there, her career skyrocketed, and she became America’s rom-com sweetheart, starring in hits like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. In just five years, Hudson went from making $8,000 in her very first movie to becoming a household name that was able to create a small empire.

What is Kate Hudson’s net worth?

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Kate has amassed an impressive $500 million total net worth, and with all the projects and companies she’s been a part of, she’s earned every penny.

How much did Kate Hudson make from Almost Famous? Kate Hudson in 'Almost Famous'

Paramount Pictures

Lighting up the screen as Penny Lane, a super-fan of the fictitious band Stillwater, this star-turn role earned Hudson an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She told People earlier this year that Almost Famous gave her career the jumpstart she needed.

“That was the beginning of everything for me,” she said. While the amount Hudson made on the film has not been made public, it’s reasonable to assume that the Golden Globe winner took home around $100,000 for her breakout role. According to Celebrity Net Worth, she made between $7,000–$8,000 for her earliest roles in the films Desert Blue and Ricochet River and made $750,000 for The Four Feathers, which came out two years after Almost Famous.

How much did Kate Hudson make from How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days?

Starring alongside heartthrob Matthew McConaughey, Kate showed off her impeccable comedic timing and undeniable charm in the 2003 rom-com. Hudson told Elle in 2020 how the movie was one of the last of its kind.

“It was a very different time of making movies,” she said. “People like me and Matthew, I feel like we were the last class of actors that really experienced the old-school Hollywood process of making movies. It was a special time. Like Matthew and I, we were together for four months on How to Lose a Guy, and then Fool's Gold, it was a six-month shoot. We don't really have any movies like that anymore unless it's a Marvel movie or something.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hudson pulled in $4.5 million for her role as Andie Anderson, and considering the $50 million budget movie grossed over $170 million, it’s safe to assume our girl Kate made even more money on the back end.

How much did Kate Hudson make from Raising Helen?

This heartfelt dramedy follows the story of wild child Helen, who unexpectedly becomes the caretaker for her sister’s children, including then-child actors Abigail Breslin and Hayden Panettiere. While the film received a lukewarm response from critics, Hudson looks back at the experience fondly, telling IGN how deeply she bonded with the cast, especially the kids.

“The sweetest moment was when the kids were done,” she explained. “It was just so emotional. And I looked at Abby [Breslin] and she was crying…We just hugged forever and I told them I loved them. It really made the whole experience that much more special; to know that those kids took something from that experience, you know?”

Kate reportedly banked an impressive $7 million for Raising Helen, which would be her going rate for projects moving forward.

How much did Kate Hudson make from Bride Wars?

As the title suggests, the movie follows Hudson and co-star Anne Hathaway in a bride-off as the two fight to have the most special “special day” at the expense of the other. Hudson recently revealed to BAFTA that Bride Wars (which she also produced) was initially a very different movie.

“The movie that I intended and tried to make was a very R-rated irreverent story about the biggest industry for women,” she divulged. “I had these great writers, Casey [Wilson] and June Diane [Raphael], who wrote this most hilarious rated R script,” she continued. “It wasn’t a rom-com, it was a buddy comedy.”

She went on to explain that a lot of script changes were made as the movie got passed around to different studios, which may have contributed to its lack of critical success. Hudson reportedly received $7 million for her role in the film, according to Celebrity Net Worth, and that’s not accounting for what she made as a producer.

How much did Kate Hudson make from Glass Onion? Kate Hudson in 'Glass Onion'

Netflix

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the sequel to Rian Johnson’s ensemble murder mystery Knives Out, boasted an all-star cast including Hudson, Daniel Craig, Janelle Monáe and Kathryn Hahn among others. Kate was very open about her excitement for the film and how much she loved playing vapid fashion designer Birdie Jay. Speaking to Variety, the actor said, “She’s an absolutely fabulous character with hilarious lines any comedic actor would love,” and later added, “I don’t get to play complex comedic characters very often, but here you could see what was motivating her desire to be the center of everything. This was such a dream.”

Her performance resonated with audiences, with The Daily Beast calling it her “sharpest performance.” According to Style Caster, the Academy Award nominee received $2 million for appearing in the crime-centered comedy, which is quite small compared to co-star Daniel Craig’s reported $100 million salary.

How much does Kate Hudson make from Fabletics?

Outside of acting, Kate has her hand in many ventures, perhaps most notably the activewear brand she co-founded in 2013, Fabletics. When talking to Forbes in 2021, she revealed what she hoped the athleisure line would achieve.

“When we launched Fabletics, we wanted to build an inclusive community and create affordable collections that made people look and feel great,” she said. “But my goal at Fabletics has always been to build a brand that’s not only about performance and athleticism, but one that people can just live in.”

According to Celebrity Net Worth, Hudson owns 20% of the company, which raked in a massive $500 million in sales in 2020 alone.

How much does Kate Hudson make from her podcast Sibling Revelry?

In 2019, Kate and her older brother Oliver Hudson launched a podcast that explores sibling dynamics and family bonds, inviting weekly celebrity guests to weigh in on the topic. Kate told CNN, “I think we’re both pretty comfortable feeling vulnerable, talking about insecurities…And that’s how we grew up, being very open with our feelings. I’ve always felt even outside of our podcast that I’ve got nothing to hide.”

While there is no public information on the exact amount the Hudson brother/sister duo makes from their show, according to an insider who spoke with Vanity Fair, celebs can make anywhere from $1 million to $3 million on their podcasts. And we know that celebrity hosts like Dax Shepard make up to $9 million a year, so it’s safe to assume Sibling Revelry rakes in at least a couple million dollars a year.

How much does Kate Hudson make from music?

Kate explored yet another side of herself when she surprised fans with a debut single, and later an entire studio album, Glorious. When Variety asked Hudson about the sudden decision to explore the world of music, she explained it had always been something she’d wanted to do.

“At this age and where I’m at in my life, I don’t have that same fear of rejection anymore. I really just want to share it. I recognize that you’re not gonna win everybody over. But I can’t be led by that fear, or else I just would never put art into the world.”

We know that artists don’t profit much from streams on services like Spotify and Apple Music, and we also know they only receive about 10-20% of the sales from their physical or digital albums. With that in mind, and considering Glorious peaked at number 10 in album sales according to Billboard, Hudson likely only made a few thousand dollars off her first foray into music.

How much does Kate Hudson make from King St. Vodka?

In 2019, Hudson entered the celebrity alcohol space when she launched King St. Vodka, a specially crafted spirit made with alkaline water. Kate is somewhat of a trailblazer in this realm, telling People, “I get a lot of business opportunities, which I’m really grateful for, but this one was very interesting to me because there is such a huge white space for women in craft vodka—and vodka, in particular, is 56 percent consumed and bought by women,” Hudson explained.

“There’s a very small, amazing group of women in spirit, but it’s small. So that was really intriguing to me. As a female, you are a disruptor in this space.”

While the company’s value has not been made public, when you look at other booze brands from celebrities like Ryan Reynolds or George Clooney, whose companies sold for around $600 million to $700 million, it’s reasonable to assume that the newer King St. Vodka is worth at least a few million dollars.

How much does Kate Hudson make from INBLOOM?

Continuing the wellness thread from her athletic-focused fashion brand, Fabletics, Hudson launched her own line of supplements, INBLOOM. She told People shortly after the company launched in late 2020 that she wanted a no-fuss-no-muss kind of supplement, saying, “I want to take one thing in the morning, and I want to know that for the rest of the day, I don't have to think about it again. If I don't do anything else, at least I got that.”

The venture proved to be quite lucrative, too, as Beauty Matter reported that INBLOOM has raked in many millions of dollars in sales.

How many homes does Kate Hudson own?

In 2003, following the success of her early film career, Hudson purchased a mansion in California's Pacific Palisades. At the time of purchase, the home was worth $5.5 million according to Life & Style, but one mansion just wasn’t enough.

In 2011, Kate purchased the mansion next door for $5.3 million and created a super mansion duplex situation. Even though she lives down the street from her superstar mother, it seems that isn’t close enough for her, telling People in 2020, “She’s down the street. We’re literally neighbors. Not to mention I want to buy the property next door to them, which is another thing I need to discuss with my therapist.” Maybe soon she’ll have a third mansion!

Is Kate Hudson married?

No, Kate Hudson is not currently married; however, she has been engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa since 2021. The couple shares one daughter together.

Charlize Theron Jokes About “Hormonal Nightmares” and Her Daughter’s Fart Face Teen Phase

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:19am

Charlize Theron is deep in the teenage trenches with daughters Jackson and August, joking that home life has turned into a mix of “hormonal nightmares” and one very distinct fart face stage.

During an appearance on Travis and Jason Kelce's New Heights podcast, Theron reflected on parenting her “lovely and sweet” daughters, ages 14 and 11, who can quickly shift into what she described as “stubborn firecrackers.”

From navigating sudden mood swings to dealing with eye rolls that rival any sitcom teen, Theron said the transformation can be jarring, but also oddly predictable once adolescence hits.

“They just turn into hormonal nightmares," she joked when Jason asked if she had parenting advice. "Like, I'm getting my ass handed to me from the moment that I walk into the house. And all these things are gonna serve them so well in life, but I might not make it.”

Therson reflected on the transition between early childhood and adolescence. “Nature does this beautiful thing where you think you're in your worst place right now, so that you can cope with what you have. But from where I am, I can tell you that you're in a lovely place and they're still lovely and sweet," she said, snarking, "And then one day, you're gonna walk into their room around 11, and they're gonna just be like, ‘Why did you turn the lights on?!’”

View this post on Instagram

As an only child, Theron said her daughters—adopted in 2012 and 2015—sometimes worry her when they argue, admitting she doesn’t fully understand sibling dynamics.

“When they fight, I actually got worried,” she admitted. "I was like, am I not doing the right thing? Like, they're gonna kill each other because they're both very, very strong. They're not wallflowers, and they're stubborn, and they're just firecrackers. When they love, they love very hard. But when they fight, I'm like, oh my god. Like, am I gonna go to jail? They won't stop.”

During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Theron recalled how Jackson recently came home from school and wondered what her mother did all day. "She had a look on her face like she just smelled a fart at all times now," she joked. "It's like the teenage thing, you know, when everything's annoying."

The First Hilton Built Outside the Americas Just Got a Stunning Mid-Century Glow Up

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:10am

In 1955, a private plane dubbed “The Flying Carpet” landed in Istanbul carrying Hollywood legends like Sophia Loren and Grace Kelly. They were there for the grand opening of the Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus—the very first Hilton built on international soil. At a time when modern luxury was just beginning to go global, this hotel was the tallest building in the city and the ultimate symbol of mid-century glamour.

Now, seven decades later, this legendary landmark has completed a massive transformation that brings that original 1950s "Golden Age" energy back to life for 2026.

“Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus sits at the very heart of Conrad Hilton’s vision to spread the light and warmth of hospitality around the world. For more than 70 years, it has been an integral part of Istanbul—a truly unique city that bridges East and West and brings people together," said Simon Vincent CBE, president, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Hilton, in a release. As the hotel enters its next chapter, we are proud to see it thoughtfully reimagined for the future, while continuing to stand as a powerful symbol of Hilton’s long‑standing commitment to Türkiye."

If you want to understand the level of detail here, look no further than the lobby brasserie Lalou. The entire redesign is anchored by a massive installation inspired by a sapphire necklace Sophia Loren wore during her stay in the hotel's early years. It’s a literal nod to the era when the Bosphorus was the playground for the international jet set.

The mid-century "glow up" continues into the 475 guest rooms, which have been refreshed with natural marble and wood, featuring private balconies that overlook the sunrise on the Bosphorus Strait. But the real revival is happening in the dining rooms.

At Malva, the hotel’s signature restaurant, traditional Turkish recipes are reimagined with modern techniques, while the intimate Sazzou lounge serves up masterfully mixed cocktails alongside live jazz and vinyl sets. It’s a deliberate callback to the 1950s era when the hotel’s "Cloud 9" was the city’s first discotheque and a home away from home for every musician passing through Istanbul.

One thing that hasn't changed is the hotel’s most famous (and slightly eccentric) landmark. The outdoor pool was originally designed in the shape of founder Conrad Hilton’s foot. Why? To represent the brand’s first giant "step" into international territory. Even with the 2026 upgrades, that iconic shape remains the center of the hotel’s expansive gardens.

Seasoned travelers might recognize the hotel as a primary setting for the 1963 James Bond classic From Russia with Love. While the 475 guest rooms have been updated with 2026 technology, the designers kept the mid-century "flying carpet" entrance and the handcrafted Turkish tiles that made it a modernist icon.

For the traveler who appreciates a hotel with a soul, this is a "bucket list" update. You aren't just staying in a renovated room; you’re staying in the building that literally invented the modern international hotel experience—right down to the tradition of "welcome coffee" that started here 70 years ago.

This wind chime leans into a celestial, whimsical design, anchored by a single cracked-glass orb suspended at the center of a star-shaped frame. The star features intricate open ironwork, while the glass globe brings in a textured, lit element. It has a fractured, mosaic-like finish that looks almost handmade.

The built-in solar panel powers the warm LED bulb within the orb, charging throughout the day and automatically illuminating at night. Below, five slender metal tubes hang in a balanced arrangement, designed to produce soft, soothing tones as the breeze moves the central glass clapper.

It’s finished with a built-in hanging ring at the top, so you can easily place it wherever it fits best. Hook it onto a beam, a pergola, a tree branch, or a shepherd’s hook in the yard. It also comes in a few alternate designs, including two moon styles and a sun option, so you can pick the one that fits your aesthetic best.

This decor piece is made to handle outdoor conditions with a sturdy, weather-resistant build, and upkeep is minimal. Simply wipe it down with a damp cloth if dirt or pollen builds up on any part of the chimes or the orb.

How is Jaafar Jackson related to Michael Jackson?

Jaafar is the King of Pop's nephew. During an appearance on TODAY, the Michael star recalled having "wonderful" memories at his paternal uncle's home, Neverland.

"I remember just growing up and we would have family time. "We'd have wonderful times at Neverland and just playing hide-and-go-seek, eating [so] much candy, going on rides, watching movies. It was all fun."

Jaafar also opened up about the responsibility he felt stepping into the role. "There's definitely a responsibility that you feel going into something this big, and the scope, and to tell it in a cinematic way," he added. How was Jaafar Jackson cast as Michael Jackson?

Jaafar landed the high-profile role after a two-year global search and casting process, with his casting officially confirmed in December 2023. The part marks the 29-year-old Los Angeles native's big-screen acting debut.

"I met Jaafar over two years ago and was blown away by the way he organically personifies the spirit and personality of Michael," film producer Graham King told The Times. "It was something so powerful that even after conducting a worldwide search, it was clear that he is the only person to take on this role." King is the four-time Oscar-nominated producer behind the Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and the Howard Hughes drama The Aviator.

The casting also received approval from a very important source: Michael's mother, Katherine Jackson. "Jaafar embodies my son," she said in a statement. "It's so wonderful to see him carry on the Jackson legacy of entertainers and performers."

While Jaafar portrays MJ as an adult, the film's subject is depicted as a child by Juliano Krue Valdi, who is also making his film acting debut.

Who are Jaafar Jackson's parents?

Jaafar is the second-youngest son of Michael's brother Jermaine Jackson and Alejandra Genevieve Oaziaza. Jermaine was a member of the famous musical group The Jackson 5, and his siblings include Rebbie, Jackie, Tito, La Toya, Marlon, Brandon, Michael, Randy and Janet Jackson.

Fun fact: Alejandra was previously the girlfriend of Jermaine's younger brother Randy, with whom she had two children—Genevieve and Randy Jr.—before marrying Jaafar's father in 1995.

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight, Jaafar revealed the advice his father gave him about playing the pop star. "He said always that success never comes easy and to work hard every day," Jaafar shared. "Especially with this role, he said to pull it off in a way that will shock people."

How did Jaafar Jackson's parents react to his casting?

The actor kept his role in Michael a secret from his family for a year. Sitting down with costar Miles Teller for a conversation for Interview Magazine, Jaafar revealed, "No one in my family knew for a full year. I kept it pretty quiet until I felt comfortable enough to share it. But when my mom saw it on-screen, it blew her away. It was hard for her to connect it to me, so it was very emotional for her."

On TODAY, Jaafar called the support he's had from his family, father and everyone "so heartwarming." "I honestly wouldn't be able to pull this off if I didn't have the support and to hear the reaction after seeing the film, especially my grandmother," he said.

As for how his grandmother reacted, Jaafar shared, "She said how excellent I did and how much I embody Michael, and there were moments she couldn't tell if it was me or Michael, and to me that's all I needed to hear. It's definitely the highest compliment that I could get and it means the most to me."

What is Jaafar Jackson's heritage?

Jaafar is of mixed-race heritage. His father is African American, while his mother is Colombian.

Has Jaafar Jackson been in any other projects?

Michael isn't the only Jacksons-related project Jaafar has participated in over the years. In 2015, he was a main cast member in the filming of his family's reality show Living with the Jacksons, which was meant to air on Reelz but was pulled from the channel before its premiere. Jaafar also appeared in the 2015 Lifetime reality show The Jacksons: Next Generation, which featured his cousins Taj, Taryll and TJ Jackson.

Has Jaafar Jackson released his own music?

Years before singing his uncle Michael's songs on the big screen, Jaafar released his debut single "Got Me Singing" in 2019.

Does Jaafar Jackson sing in Michael?

Yes! The actor performed several of his uncle's hits, including "Beat It," "Billie Jean" and "Don't Stop 'til You Get Enough," in the musical biopic. Jaafar said on TODAY, "It was fun because when I was doing all the performances, I was actually singing out live in the microphone on top of Michael's tracks, so it's a blend of my vocal and Michael's, however they edited, you know, my vocal and Michael's together. But even the moments where there's no backing track, it's actually me singing, you know, the acapellas, which was really fun to do."

Can Jaafar Jackson moonwalk like Michael Jackson?

Jaafar can moonwalk and does so in the movie. His fancy footwork is showcased during a performance of "Billie Jean" in the film. Fuqua, the director, revealed to Cinemablend that he first saw Jaafar moonwalk sometime during the rehearsal period. Producer Graham King added that it "could have been at Hayvenhurst as well."

"We would go to Michael's home, where Jaafar kind of would hang out and rehearse and rehearse," King recalled. "And I think he invited us over...the lounge, the living room area and he started moonwalking there."

The moonwalk was admittedly the hardest move for Jaafar. Discussing dancing like Michael, he told Teller, "To do it in a way that is believable is the challenge. You can do the moonwalk, but to make it believable is a whole different thing. It could be as simple as a spin. That’s probably the hardest move for me, the spin. Only because naturally, if I were to spin, I’d spin to my right because of my balance. But Michael spins to his left. It wasn't until a couple of months before production where I actually started to nail it consistently, and I was rehearsing it for three years. People think it's easy, but it was so complicated. I learned through just repeating it over and over again. It became an obsession."

How did Jaafar Jackson prepare for his role in Michael?

Preparing to play Michael was a "multi-year process" before Jaafar even officially landed the role. The film's star revealed to Jimmy Fallon that months after Graham King secured the rights to tell Michael's story, the Bohemian Rhapsody producer reached out.

"He wanted to have a Zoom, and I can tell just by the call what this was going to lead to in some way. And then one thing led to the other. We had lunch," Jaafar told Fallon, revealing that months later King got him a coach and he "started to work on a lot of scenes from other films, and it was a multi-year process. It wasn't just a traditional audition. I definitely had to earn the role for a two-year process, really."

After he got the part, Jaafar had "some more time to really hone in on the details." The actor also had "incredible guidance" from Rich and Tone Talauega, who were Michael's choreographers from the HIStoryWorldTour.

"So we broke down, frame by frame, the 'Billie Jean' performance from Motown25, and that was the first set of choreography I started to learn throughout the process, and I had 20 days to kind of prove to them and the filmmakers that I can pull it off within those 20 days," Jaafar said. "Even though in my mind, I was like, '20 days, how can I do that? I need a lot more time.' And within that time, I was very doubtful, and it was incredibly challenging."

Jaafar spent hours practicing the moves, dancing to the point of bleeding. "I started to rehearse for hours upon hours until one single move was right. Dancing until my feet would bleed or them go numb," he confessed. "There's so many times I would wake up sore, but like 'Should I go rehearse? Should I just take a break and let the body relax?' Then another part of my mind would be like 'No, what would Michael do?'"

What has Jaafar Jackson said about playing Michael Jackson?

Transforming into his famous uncle was no easy feat for Jaafar. "I knew how challenging this would be to take on playing Michael Jackson, and it was not easy," the actor laughed in a featurette. "Definitely wasn't."

Although it was challenging, Jaafar has said that he's "humbled and honored" to bring his uncle's story to life. In another featurette, the Michael star admitted, "I never dreamed to be an actor, or even thought of playing him, but I knew it was a calling."

"Embodying Michael, I really had to earn the role and prove to the filmmakers that I was capable of becoming Michael," he continued. "Essentially, it was starting at the roots and finding that authenticity."

Is Jaafar Jackson in a relationship?

Yes! Jaafar is in a romantic relationship with Maddie Simpson, a 28-year-old singer and actress. The couple have been together since 2016 and are reportedly currently engaged.

Simpson publicly praised her longtime beau for his work on the Michael biopic in a sweet Instagram post back in January 2023. "Over the past year and a half I have watched Jaafar grow in ways I didn't know were possible," Simpson captioned the post. "The dedication, focus, love and care he has put into this role already is truly unparalleled. Not only has he proven that he is more than capable of taking on this responsibility to others, he has most importantly proven it to himself." She added that her boyfriend's uncle was "guiding Jaafar through every single step of this process."

"The admiration and respect I have for Jaafar is genuinely impossible to put into words," she continued. "Saying I am proud of him falls short of all of the emotions I feel. I love him so dearly and I can't wait for the world to see how exceptional he is."

When did Michael Jackson die?

The "Thriller" singer died in 2009 at the age of 50.

When will the movie Michael be released?

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 7:00am

Admittedly, I've never given much thought to stair risers, which are the vertical parts of a staircase. They typically aren't anything special. However, I recently came across an Instagram video about how to spruce up your stair risers — with a material you probably already have at home — and my mind is forever changed!

Doing a DIY upgrade to your stair risers is actually a super simple process, and it can completely change the look of your staircase. Read on for the details.

How to Create Custom DIY Stair Risers Using Cardboard

"This is your sign to swap our your stair risers every season," DIY and decor creator Steffy Degreff (@steffy on Instagram) wrote on a recent Instagram video.

In the video, Degreff paints pieces of cardboard a warm brown shade, and then paints colorful flowers over them. She then attaches them on top of her existing stair risers, resulting in custom stair risers with beautiful floral patterns. They drastically change the look of her staircase, and upon first glance, no one would ever think that they were cardboard.

If you want to try this at home, here's what you'll need:

  • Tape measurer
  • Cardboard (or oak tag)
  • X-Acto knife and mat (or scissors)
  • Paint and paintbrushes
  • Painter's tape

And here's how to recreate Degreff's process:

  1. Measure your current stair risers.
  2. Slice cardboard into pieces that are the exact dimensions of your stair risers. Cut one piece of cardboard for every stair riser you have.
  3. Paint each piece of cardboard in the color of your choice. If you're artistic, use more paint in other colors to create any pattern you'd like. Let dry.
  4. Roll up a few pieces of painter's tape, stick them to the back of a cardboard stair riser, and stick in into place. Repeat this with each piece of cardboard.

If there is a lip at the top of each of your staircase's treads (the flat part of a stair that you step on), that should help hold the cardboard in place along with the tape. That said, if you do have animals or kids at home, please be extra careful about securely attaching your temporary stair risers.

People Love This Hack for Upgrading Your Stair Risers

Below the video, commenters applauded Degreff for coming up with this innovative and easy idea.

"STEFFY!! This is so cute! And simple! And dare I say…doable?! 😍," one commenter wrote on the video. "Idk this looks like it should be more permanent 😍," another commenter chimed in.

"Love this! Also a great way to protect your stairs from shoe marks!" another commenter wrote. "Love this idea! 😍 And so simple for seasonal decor changes!" somebody added.

Others gave suggestions for how they'd do this hack in their homes.

"I could imagine doing this for birthdays with kids," a follower commented. "Each kid gets a custom stair bday sign and they take a pic sitting on them!"

"What a fun idea. I think I’d use wood or something a little more flat," someone else suggested.

I don't have a staircase in my apartment, but if I did, I'd definitely be trying this.

2018 Debut Novel Shattered Records — Then the Author Never Published Again

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 6:50am

Where the Crawdads Sing is one of the bestselling books of all time, but author Delia Owens has yet to return with a new novel since her debut’s success.

Owens, now 77, released her popular murder mystery in August 2018. After being selected as the Reese’s Book Club pick the following month and named one of Barnes and Noble’s best books of the year, Where the Crawdads Sing rose to No. 1 on the New York Times bestsellers list, where it remained in the lead spot for more than a year. Ultimately, the book topped the New York Times Fiction Best Sellers of 2019 and 2020, spent four and a half years on the New York Times bestsellers list and sold 22 million copies worldwide.

In Where the Crawdads Sing, main character Kya’s story unfolds in dueling timelines—one follows her isolated childhood in North Carolina, while the other sees an adult Kya at the center of a murder investigation in her small town.

The novel was later adapted into a film starring Daisy Edgar-Jones. Following its July 2022 release in theaters, the movie became a box office success, raking in $144.3 million globally.

As the book gained even more attention from the adaptation, Delia and her ex-husband, Mark Owens—who are known for their work as conservationists—sparked controversy when Deadly Game: The Mark and Delia Owens Story resurfaced. In the 1996 ABC News Turning Point special, Mark allegedly directed Zambian government scouts to shoot at suspected poachers in North Luangwa National Park, with one individual allegedly getting shot in the documentary.

The Atlantic and The New Yorker previously reported that Christopher Owens—Mark’s son and Delia’s former stepson—was suspected of firing at least two of the three rounds at the alleged poacher, whose body was never recovered and name was never revealed. According to The New Yorker, Mark was suspected of disposing of the body in a lagoon.

Mark, Delia and Christopher vehemently denied any wrongdoing related to the alleged incident. As of 2022, the trio were allegedly wanted for questioning in the case in Zambia but had never been charged.

Before the scandal made headlines, Delia hinted that she was working on her next novel, which was reportedly set in the 1800s and 1960s and centered around a woman who emigrates from England to the United States.

“I’ve finished the third draft, but I wouldn’t say it’s in great shape,” she told The i Paper in January 2021. “See, I’ve never thought of myself as especially good at writing; I just love it, but it’s frustrating because there’s no such thing as a perfect sentence. Every sentence can be improved, which means it’s never finished.”

She added: “To me, writing a book is like taking a football field of Jell-O and trying to make it a monument.”

More than five years later, Delia has still not formally announced her second novel. She has also taken a step back from the spotlight, with her most recent social media post uploaded in January 2024.

Chet Hanks' Net Worth in 2026 Means He's a Baller In Real Life, Too

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 6:31am

Chet Hanks' net worth in 2026 may pale in comparison to his famous dad's, but the handsome nepo baby of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson is carving his own lane.

Chet—who once went by "Chet Haze"—has a bit of a reputation that precedes him, but he's learned to embrace it and poke fun at himself. That extends to his role of problem child point guard Travis Bugg in Running Point, which he previously said was "freakishly similar" to him in real life.

"Everything is just a little bit more exaggerated. At the end of the day, we're all human beings; we're not caricatures," he told Men's Health. "The following I grew online understands that there’s a wink and a nod. It's like an inside joke, and then they're in on it."

Chet said that his parents obviously helped him succeed in part by teaching him how to focus, and that he isn't as scared of living in their shadows anymore.

"I've learned to really focus on the work and to trust your ability. They've also taught stuff about the actual craft of acting itself, you know, little tips and creative notes here and there," he said. "But, you know, it's been a lifetime of that! It used to be intimidating when I didn't have that much experience, but I've had many years of this now. Every role has its own challenges, but, ultimately, the work itself is what prepares you for more work."

Why was Tom Hanks' son stranded in Colombia?

Chet Hanks said in an Instagram video that he was briefly stuck in Colombia in late February 2026 because he didn't have his U.S. passport with him.

While on vacation in Puerto Rico—which is part of the United States, so he wouldn't have needed his passport—he took a spontaneous trip to Medellín to see a friend. At the time, he only had his Greek passport with him because his U.S. passport was "about to expire."

“Sometimes they don’t let you in the country even if it hasn’t expired, but it’s about to expire,” he said. He noted that he arrived at the airport three hours early the day he was supposed to return home and was told that he wouldn't be allowed entry into the United States.

“They tell me that if I’m using a foreign passport, I need a green card to get back into America,” he said. “I don’t have a green card because I’m an American citizen.”

While he could've gone to the American embassy in Bogotá, he said simply, "I don't want to go to Bogotá. So yeah, free me."

He's since made it home ... somehow.

"There's a lot of s*it I could say about why I'm sober, why I still choose to be sober," he said. "I could go on forever ... If I'm getting high, drinking, doing drugs, I'm a b*tch. I'm a weak little b*tch. Okay? I'm Shia LaBeouf getting his ass whooped in the street.”

Why does Chet Hanks speak in a Jamaican accent?

Uh, good question.

Chet went viral for speaking in Jamaican Patois at the 2020 Golden Globes, despite, you know, being a white dude who grew up in Los Angeles. You can relive the secondhand embarrassing moment below:

https://www.youtube.com/shorts/JeIAQBTAw5A

He later explained in a September 2021 interview, "I was hooking up with this chick, one day she was on the phone with her family in Jamaica and she was really in the middle of a heated conversation ... I really had no idea what the f**k she was saying."

He recalled asking the woman to teach him a bit of Patois.

"She was just telling me how to say different s*it, so for a week I was really on a Jamaican tip, and that just happened to be the week of the Golden Globes," he said.

Of course, that came with a lot of reactions.

"I had Jamaicans blowing up my Instagram, 'Respect general, respect! Come to the island,'" he insisted. "Jamaican people showed me the most love hands down, then you got all these social justice warriors in America saying I’m a f*cking villain. I don’t f*cking know, dude. If I’m interested in f*cking bullfighting, I can fly to Spain and watch a bullfight, and if I want to talk to a matador and say, 'Hey bro, can you teach me how to fight the bulls?' and he’s like, 'Hell yeah bro, put this on.' He’s stoked that I’m stoked. Some a*shole out there is gonna say I’m f*cked up because I’m culturally appropriating the matador culture."

Was Chet Hanks in Forrest Gump?

Nope, Chet Hanks didn't appear in his dad's famous Oscar-winning 1994 film Forrest Gump—but he did recreate scenes from it with Tom Hanks for a music video for the son "You Better Run" for his country band Something Out West.

Did Chet Hanks know he wanted to become an actor?

For the most part, yes.

"My dad’s an actor. My older brother’s an actor. My mom," Chet told Bustle. "This was the family business so I [knew] that was something I would go into at some point."

He said of his movie debut in 2007's live action Bratz: The Movie, "In the middle of my sophomore year of high school, I got to take two months off and go film this movie and hang out around a bunch of hot 19-year-old chicks."

Not a bad deal if you can get it!

This Southern State With No Retirement Tax Allows Couples To Retire Comfortably Without $1 Million in Savings

Thu, 04/23/2026 - 6:16am

When it comes to retirees looking to stretch their budget, there are a few states you probably already know to avoid (I'm looking at you, New Jersey and California). However, hunting down the perfect retirement destination that will not only meet your needs during your golden years by giving you access to things like warmer weather and health care while also keeping your budget on track can be tricky.

At least, it was before this Southern state was named one of the best places for retirees who have less than a million dollars saved up for their next chapter. Curious to see which state made the top of the list? Keep reading to find out more.

Mississippi Named Top Southern State for Retirees Living on Less Than $1 Million

According to Kiplinger, Mississippi is the state to be in for retirees looking to live on a budget. That's because the Magnolia State has a median property tax of just $1,215 a year, which is perfect for retirees who are looking to buy a new home when they move.

Not only that, but the state doesn't charge any taxes on retirement, and it only charges a 1 percent flat tax rate on all other types of income that you may bring in. And even better, you can get by on way less than a million dollars when you move here, according to Kiplinger, which estimates that the retirement savings you'll need to live comfortably here is just $730,000.

Related: 10 States Are Temporarily Closing Social Security Offices. Is Your State on the List?

Additionally, the state has access to beaches and mild winters, making it ideal for retirees looking to balance a low cost of living with other retirement perks.

There are Some Downsides to Retiring in Mississippi

While it's clear that there are a lot of upsides to retiring in the Magnolia State—music lovers will be especially tickled to spend time here, since there's so much history associated with the region when it comes to Elvis Presley and the blues—Kiplinger notes that there are also some tradeoffs to be wary of.

First, the state is not known for having great healthcare access. It also ranks lower than most other states in healthcare performance. That means if you are already experiencing some health concerns or know that you'll need to account for an increase in healthcare needs as you age, this state is probably not for you.

Secondly, and perhaps more importantly for risk-adverse retirees, the state is vulnerable to severe weather. According to Summer House Senior Living, people living in Mississippi are more likely to experience inclement weather like:

  • Tornadoes
  • Tropical storms
  • Hurricanes

Related: 5 of the Most Dangerous Cities to Retire In

And while that may not seem like a big deal, since other retirement hot spots also see similar weather (like Florida), it's worth keeping in mind if you're looking to make a move to the state.
