It's hard to believe 30 years have passed since the original Space Jam movie hit theaters. And this year marks the 25th anniversary of its iconic soundtrack going platinum a whopping six times.

Among the film's memorable stars is Wayne Knight, a household name in the 1990s thanks to Space Jam and other classic projects as well. We're talking Jurassic Park, where he played the villainous computer programmer; Toy Story 2, where he voiced evil "Al" who wanted to send Woody and friends to Tokyo; and the show about nothing: Seinfeld.

Yes, Knight touched all sorts of genres three decades ago, but fans know him best of all as "Newman." Just reading his Seinfeld character's name might cue visions of Jerry Seinfeld exclaiming it with a burst of rage and a clenched fist.

Cut to 2026, and Friday, August 6 marks Knight's 71st birthday. It's fortunate to know that he remains busy in Hollywood after all these years, with recent projects including:

• GOAT (where he voiced the character of "Frank")
• Five Nights at Freddy's 2
• the Prime Video series Them (where he portrayed Lieutenant Schiff for five episodes in 2024)

Knight's Seinfeld Co-Star Is Also a Birthday Boy

Friday is also the birthday of another memorable Seinfeld actor: Tobin Bell. Though just a guest star, he stole the spotlight in the season 4 episode “The Old Man” as the owner of a used record store, where Kramer (Michael Richards) and Newman (Knight) try to cash in on Jerry’s unwanted vinyl collection. The pair are insulted when the shop owner offers just $5 for the records, setting off one of the episode’s funniest side stories.

Bell, who is now 84, finally got his big break in 2004 when he was cast as John Kramer, better known as Jigsaw, in Saw. The low-budget horror film became an unexpected phenomenon, launching one of the highest-grossing horror franchises ever. Bell reprised the role in eight sequels, portraying Jigsaw across nine Saw films and earning a reputation as one of the genre’s defining villains.

Some of the most fascinating music in America has folk origins. Before contracts and patents took over the music industry, things worked off an honor system of sorts, which admittedly got more complicated the more music was commercialized. However, the sharing of songs and borrowing of melodies helped give rise to some of the most prolific music of our day.

Chicago singer-songwriter Steve Goodman is a prime example. On the way to New Orleans with his wife aboard the Illinois Central train to visit her grandmother, he was inspired by the gorgeous scenery to pen a tune in homage to the landscape. According to Songfacts, Goodman recorded it for his 1971 self-titled debut album after he learned the train line was set to be decommissioned. He released "City of New Orleans" as a single in 1972, but it ultimately didn't go anywhere under his recording.

That same year, he met fellow troubadour Arlo Guthrie, son of Woody Guthrie, and reportedly begged him to listen to the song. Guthrie agreed to listen to it in a Chicago bar for as long as it took for him to finish his beer, and consequently, completely fell in love with it. He asked if he could take a stab at recording it, and when he did, it shot up to No. 18 on the Billboard Hot 100. Dolly Parton even sang it in 1976 on her show Dolly.

In 1984, Willie Nelson retooled the song and took it all the way to No. 1. That year, the tune won a Grammy Award for Best Country Song, and since that is primarily a songwriting category, it was bestowed upon Goodman posthumously. Tragically, Goodman died that same year Nelson recorded it, on September 20, 1984, at the age of 36 after battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

Goodman's career inspired many artists. "You Never Even Called Me by My Name" was co-written by Goodman but became a massive hit for David Allan Coe, as did his "Go Cubs Go," which remains an iconic anthem written for the Chicago Cubs. As Goodman lived with his cancer diagnosis for over a decade, he originally wrote “A Dying Cubs Fan’s Last Request,” but it was deemed too dark by the league.

Among the greatest sitcoms of the 1960s and early 1970s, Family Affair continues to dazzle nostalgic viewers with its buoyant humor and energetic performances, something that original series star Kathy Garver attributes to the show's endearing legacy today.

In spite of her positive appraisal of the original sitcom today, the 80-year-old Garver doesn't hold a very kind view of the failed 2002 remake series starring Gary Cole and Tim Curry.

“It was terrible,” Garver bluntly told Entertainment Weekly in a recent interview.

As with the original TV show that aired in the '60s, the failed 2000s remake of Family Affair saw an affluent engineer (Cole) and his English valet (Curry) trying to raise his orphaned children in a luxurious New York City Apartment.

Premiering on The WB in September 2002, the remake series was eventually canceled at the network after just 13 episodes, cutting its run short by early 2003.

In her assessment of the show, Garver pointedly said, "Excuse my language, it sucked. In my opinion, it’s very difficult to do remakes. I think sequels are great and they usually do well, but once something is embedded in the culture and in the fan or audience mind, that’s their character. Those are their friends.”

Garver believed that the main faults of the show had to do with the remake's cast, who she felt were unsuited to their respective roles.

“Each person was a loving person," Garver said of the original series' stars. "They were amiable, they liked each other, we all got along."

“Then, you go to Tim Curry, who is very funny," she continued. "When they did the remake, I did my scene with him, but he has a whole different kind of humor, and he didn’t have the same kind of warmth that Sebastian [Cabot] had. [Sebastian] had a warmth for people. Tim Curry, you know, was a little more edgy, so that took away one part of the big aspects of the Mr. French character."

“Gary Cole, love his soul.... he’s doing well on NCIS, but he’s not Uncle Bill," she went on to say. "Brian Keith had this special ability to be this macho guy with a heart of gold and sensitivity. He especially loved children, and that really came through. That was part of who he was.”

Hoda Kotbturns 62 on August 9. But her family isn’t waiting until Sunday to celebrate. The former TODAY anchor’s daughters, nine-year-old Haley and seven-year-old Hope, are treating their famous mom to an early birthday party. Oh my…what? Wow!”

Hope puts a party hat on her shocked mom’s head as the family dog, Waffles, jumps at Hoda’s feet. But that’s not the end of the pre-party party. 

With King Harvest’s ‘Dancing In the Moonlight’ playing in the background, Kotb exclaims, "This is my favorite song in the whole wide world.” And, as she impatiently tells her mom, it was all young Hope’s idea. 

The BTS look into Kotb’s family life also includes clips of a happy birthday sign, more balloons, a birthday banner,  a family meal, and a series of sweet snapshots of Hoda and her two girls.

Fans flocked to the post, sending their well wishes with comments such as, “Happy Birthday to another lap around the sun. What you have taught your precious girls is a gift that will keep giving!” and “Happy Birthday Hoda woman…we share the same birthday…You love hard as I do. While Hoda is clearly taking some time off to spend with her daughters, she’s also hanging with her former co-host. Kotb recently shared a pic of herself and Savannah Guthrie, captioning the photo, “My favorite place…next to you.”

Fans may have noticed Savannah’s absence on the TODAY set. The star announced in late July that she would take some time off to film her upcoming Wordle game show, telling viewers, “I’m headed over to shoot Wordle over the next few weeks. We’re going to shoot the whole season, and we’re super excited. Cannot wait for everyone to see it. It’ll probably air, I think, in the new year.”

Tim Robbins is looking more handsome than ever with full white hair over thirty years after he played Andy Dufresne in The Shawshank Redemption.

Robbins, 67, kicked off his career with roles in The Sure Thing and Top Gun, and skyrocketed to fame in the role of Nuke LaLoosh in 1988’s Bull Durham. While he’s also an acclaimed director with projects like Dead Man Walking, he later became a household name in the fan favorite flick The Shawshank Redemption. Based on the Stephen King short story Rita Hayworth and Shawshank Redemption, the film went on to become a cult classic in the years that followed.

In the present day, Robbins is looking mighty fine with a head full of white hair. Spotted by photographers walking through New York City, the star of Apple TV+'s Silo is rocking Silver Fox territory with his luscious white locks.

Robbins Is Heading Back to the Baseball Field

It was Bull Durham, in which Robbins played the role of pitcher Nuke LaLoosh opposite Kevin Costnerand Susan Sarandon, that introduced many audience members to the star. Now, Robbins is heading back to the baseball field. The star is set to appear in The Catch alongside Sissy Spacek, Emma Stone, and Chris Pine, Deadline reported. Saturday Night Live favorite Ashley Padilla and comedian Druski have also joined the cast of the film, which will be directed by Dave McCary. The piece says details are being kept under wraps, but that “the film is a baseball rom-com in the vein of Bull Durham and Notting Hill.“

At least that will be familiar territory!

Robbins Isn’t Crazy About Netflix as The Future of Film

Back in 2024, Robbins opened up in an interview with The Guardian about why he’s not so crazy about streaming platforms.

“You go on Netflix right now, you see what films are coming out, and you tell me that that’s the future of cinema? We’re in big trouble,” Robbins told the publication, adding that when Shawshank Redemption hit theaters, it got “good reviews.” However, “nobody saw it.” Luckily, the world came to love the movie because it was played endlessly on VHS and on television.

“It remains on top of IMDb as the most favoured movie of all time,” he said. “So I know that a quality movie, a quality television show, will last. Whether it’s a hit or not is irrelevant compared to what people are going to think about it in 10, 15, 20 years.”

The fact that brands use Instagram to advertise promotions isn't exactly a mystery. But Instagram Broadcast Channels are a lesser-known tool that companies also use to release supersecret promotions. Okay, so that’s not the only reason to use broadcast channels. This public, one-to-many, one-way messaging tool lets creators sneak in updates, behind-the-scenes info, and more. 

While Instagram introduced broadcast channels back in 2023, Dunkin’ Donuts just took its first steps into the social media medium on Friday, July 31, 2026, with messages for diehard fans. 

The keyword here is diehard. Named “Dunkin Diehards,” the channel’s first message read, “As a thank you for joining dunkin’ diehards…between me and you, we might be giving away 1 million free refreshers on Monday August 3rd. Code will drop on Monday…shhhh.” 

The code dropped via the Dunkin’ Diehards channel last Monday, and now it looks like they’re doing it again. Diehard fans noticed a new message on the channel on Friday morning: “Heyyy besties…we might have another million coming Monday. That’s all I’m allowed to say. Keep your notifs on.”

How can you join the Dunkin’ Diehards channel and get special promos?

To start with, you need an Instagram account. Provided you’re already on Instagram, or are ready to finally join, go to the official Dunkin’ page on your mobile device. Look for the talk bubbles and the words “dunkin’ diehards” next to a little orange heart under the brand’s bio. Click on it to get to the company’s new broadcast channel. 

Follow the channel and, as the message says, turn on your notifications. While you can still access the content without notifications, you’ll get a reminder about the one million drink giveaway on Monday, August 10th. 

If this round of free drinks is anything like the last one (on August 3), fans are eligible to receive one code per person only to use on August 10. 

Is Dunkin’ giving away free Refreshers on Monday, August 10?

Maybe. Or, maybe Dunkin’ Donuts has something else up its sleeve. Even though the coffee company gave away one million free Refreshers on August 3rd, this week’s free item could be something very different. While we're assuming the giveaway features one of the brand's drinks, it really could be anything from a donut to a breakfast sandwich.

Dunkin’ sent a message last week specifying “Refreshers” in the giveaway. But the latest announcement is more of a coy sneak peek. Instead of naming the product, the message leaves it open with “another million.” That means we’ll all just have to wait until Monday to find out what’s free!

In a talkback hosted by CHANELon YouTube,Daft Punk co-founder Thomas Bangalter reflected on the role technology played in building the mythos behind Daft Punk and how they said goodbye as a wave of future advancements began to crest over artistry.

Bangalter looked back at the making of Random Access Memories, explaining that he and partner Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo felt their farewell album marked "a time where the technology is allowing a lot of things musically that you can create in very easy way, and that there was this opportunity to pay a certain respect to a certain craftsmanship that was really failing both generationally because there was a lot of people that were very good at creating a lot of these records that we loved and they were aging."

The 2013 Grammy Award-winning record took listeners back to a golden bygone era with ongs such as the funk-infused "Get Lucky" and collaborations with iconic hitmakers, including Nile Rodgers, Giorgio Moroder, and Paul Williams. Their artistic farewell came from a place of "rather than taking a time machine to say, okay, I want to live in 1977, there was more desire of saying, okay, we want to take what was magic there and kind of take it and bring it in 2012 or 2013."

On why Daft Punk decided to step away by ending their robot personas, Bangalter said: "I've always been interested in the ritualistic nature of art. And it's true that a lot of the technology and distribution systems over the last 30 years have devalued this ritualistic power and the symbolic power." Bangalter mused about their role in this history, "Daft Punk and the robots, it was really performance art." In addition to allowing him and Christo to remain anonymous, the robots represented a guise that allowed them to express themselves artistically. "My relationship to creation and my relationship to art is mostly happening at a deeper level which does not express itself through words. That's probably why I'm not really interested in the creative usage of artificial intelligence for many reasons, but the main one probably is because it goes through a verbal expression, which is prompting."

Bangalter elaborated, "I feel really the most interesting part of the creative process is happening not at all on an intellectual level or on an expressive level, where you're actually going through a process which is about understanding your feelings," emphasizing, "I think in the creative process it's an experiment," as that's where tech comes short on understanding surprise.

"AI really focuses right now on the result; it's all about the output. My creative process is absolutely not about the output. I don't decide anything...we're not in control of anything, and that this feeling drives the process," he shared. "The output is really the whole journey to maintain that process in the most spontaneous, intuitive, and instinctive way."

Bangalter pointed at how he and Christo operated over the years, "The very hard thing, and [why] it took a lot of time sometimes to make music, is I find it very hard to work with machine and put soul in the process with electronic instruments. And it takes sometimes days, months, or years. And you can't really match the delicacy and the nuance of expressivity of the human hand and the human sensibility." Bangalter asserted that experimental projects Daft Punk could never have the journey that built their legacy replicated.

In a very heart of rock and roll way, the legendary artist called out AI, "The most overrated technology is the latest one, because I feel the problem is there's really this fascination for the latest developments in technology. And so we tend to value more the most recent technology before even thinking from an ethical perspective of, 'is this going to make the world a better place?' And what is the most underrated human skill? Unpredictability, I feel. I feel that unpredictability is what will save this society because everything that happens are surprises."

He concluded, "Unpredictability and disruption needs to happen to get us out of this mess, but it cannot happen from the machine, because if you have unpredictability from artificial intelligence, then this is very dangerous. Everything that happened in history is through an impulse of collective derailment from society. So it's complicated, because we need to surprise ourselves and to be more and more unpredictable, and we can't have technology do that for us."

A food trend making the rounds on TikTok has people dunking their McDonald's cheeseburgers straight into a bubbly cup of Coca-Cola, and the fast-food giant itself couldn't resist weighing in.

According to USA Today, the trend traces back to Virginia-based creator @theangelfoodie, who first posted a video in April showing herself dipping a McDouble with cheese into Coke multiple times before taking a big bite. She said the habit dates back to high school, explaining she got the idea from watching speed eaters dip food in water to make it go down easier, then swapped in soda instead.

McDonald's official account, per the outlet, noticed the video and dropped a two-word reply in the comments: "Just why." McDonald's UK took a different stance: "i see nothing wrong," it wrote from it's official account under a June 10 post.

Rival chain Arby's had joined in as well, posting that it might be time to "rethink this burger situation."

Since her original video, @theangelfoodie has posted at least three more clips trying the combination with different patties, and the videos have racked up a combined nearly 13 million views as of early August.

Other creators have since jumped in with mixed verdicts. TikToker @JoeOhEats tried a triple cheeseburger dipped in Coke and came away surprised, describing the combination as working better than he expected and saying it brought out more of the cheese flavor than eating the burger plain. Not everyone was convinced: creator @shaysdailyeats tried the trend with Sprite instead, and after a piece of her bun fell into the cup and turned soggy, she said she'd be passing on the combo for good.

Commenters have been just as divided. While some called the trend genius, others said the sight alone was enough to ruin their day.

"Dude, that's nasty," wrote one commenter.

"i am now deleting tiktok..." quipper another.

While the Netflix catalog of reality TV has been going strong since 2020, very few of its stars have broken out into mainstream success outside of the streamer. The sole exception, perhaps, is Harry Jowsey. Originally appearing on the first season of Too Hot to Handle, the Aussie became a mainstay on romantic reality shows, showing up on Perfect Match and MTV's Match Me If You Can. And he was one of the most talked-about celebrities on the 2023 edition of Dancing with the Stars, making it all the way to sixth place amidst a flurry of rumors of a romance with his partner Rylee Arnold. But the new series Let's Marry Harry hopes to end his search for love once and for all, putting him at the center of Netflix's take on The Bachelor. But he won't be alone, as Harry is joined by his closest friends to help pick from a cast of 20 singles. While Netflix put him on the map back in 2021, five years later, he's hoping they can help him also find "the one."

It's been 25 years since Ricky Gervais changed the face of comedy by putting out a mockumentary about a small-town paper company. But since the British version of The Office burst onto the scene, the comedian has gone on to create a plethora of shows, including Extras, Life's Too Short, and Derek, as well as host the Golden Globes five times (albeit not without some controversy). In 2018, Gervais brokered a deal with Netflix, creating After Life specifically for the streamer. And his latest venture is taking things 2D — and to the animal kingdom. Alley Cats follows a group of feral felines as they wander the streets, causing a bevy of misadventures along the way. Featuring voice work from Gervais and a number of his usual collaborators, including David Earl and Kerry Godliman, you can check out this animated comedy to find out if it truly is the cat's meow.

Martha Stewarthas spent years fielding questions about how she manages to look so youthful. Now, the lifestyle icon is setting the record straight.

Fresh off sending the internet into a frenzy with a glamorous hot tub selfie, Stewart is opening up about the beauty routine behind her appearance—and says one thing many people assume about her simply isn't true.

Speaking to PEOPLE in an article shared Friday, August 7, as she celebrates her 85th birthday, Stewart revealed that despite years of speculation, "I have not had any plastic surgery at all."

Instead, Stewart is more focused on consistency. She shared that she visits a New York dermatologist every few months, explaining that she gets "a little bit of fillers" and typically returns "maybe once every four months for touch-ups."

Her routine also includes facial exercises, professional facials along with some peptides. "So that's what I do. I'm more a maintenance kind of person. I'm not getting boobs done and hips and butts and stuff like that," Stewart said to the outlet.

A few days ago Stewart had fans swooning over a serene Instagram photo of herself relaxing in a bubbling hot tub while visiting Maine. Alongside the post, which featured her in a black swimsuit in front of a gorgeous backdrop, Stewart wrote, "I am going to use this amazing hot tub every single day I am in Maine Invigorating restorative Therapeutic relaxing portrait by @hannahcmilman."

Obviously, the photo quickly filled with compliments from fans praising how radiant she looked, reigniting the conversation about her age-defying appearance. For Stewart, though, turning 85 hasn't changed much.

"Eighty-five is just a number," she told the publication. She credits good genes, healthy habits and staying active—including horseback riding on her farm—for helping her feel her best.

Former Chicago P.D. star Tracy Spiridakos, who played Hailey Upton for eight seasons, is back in uniform once again/ But this time, she’s protecting and serving nature rather than the mean streets of Chicago as a park ranger in the new USA Network series Anna Pigeon, based on the New York Times best-selling novels.

“They share certain similarities, sure, but they're quite different,” Spiridakos tells Parade in an exclusive interview. “Anna doesn't take herself as seriously. She's also very impulsive, where Haley was a lot more controlled and quite a serious person. For the most part, Anna is a bit of a wild one. She acts on impulse. Whatever feeling she’s having, she just goes with it. Even though we meet her when she's going through this immense amount of grief, she has a lightness to her that I find different and we get to see a little bit more of that throughout the series. The more we get to know her and her different relationships that have different effects on her, we see some of that lightness in her.”

Spiridakos was gung-ho for the experience of playing Anna because she enjoys being out in nature — the series filmed outside Calgary in a park called Kananaskis — even on days when she was covered in bug spray because it was an active mosquito day. Even though she did a bit of camping when she was younger, there was still a lot that Spiridakos had to learn for Anna Pigeon, including climbing, horseback riding and working with animals.

“I had to climb a tree, so then I had to learn how to pull myself up on the rope,” she says. “I’ve never climbed up a tree like that, so there's some training with that. I think the difference between playing a Park Ranger [and a Chicago cop] is a lot more first aid stuff, and then animal training."

Training to be on a horse was a big one for Spiridakos, who took quite a few lessons before filming started and then, throughout the season, whenever there was an opportunity, she would always jump on her horse named Joker and try to get comfortable and improve her skill.

“I loved it, so I think that everyone was like, ‘oh good,’ because I got on and was like, ‘yay!,’ any opportunity that I could horseback ride,” she recalls. “I actually went to our showrunner towards the end of the series and I was like, ‘will there be horses in the next couple before we are done so I can say goodbye to Joker?’ I don't know if it was intended to be or not but it turned out there was, so great for me.”

While the Winnipeg, Canada-born actress enjoyed filming in the beauty of Kananaskis, she does miss the cast and crew of Chicago P.D., the Windy City restaurants and some things about Hailey Upton.

“I got really to know that character,” she says. “We were together for seven years, so it's like letting go of a friend in so many ways when you when you move on to a different project.  I sometimes wonder what Haley's doing now and where she is in her life… Definitely, getting to go back for the crossover was such a treat to go see everybody.”

That crossover episode also provided her the opportunity to get a little taste of what Haley’s doing now that she’s with the FBI.

“One of the things I've found in her was she's just in a different place,” Spiridakos says. “I think there's a different version of her at least that I found when I when we came back to do the crossovers, so I think she's just happier than she was when she left.”

Lea Thompson brought the rights to these novels for herself years ago, and she has said in interviews that she was happy she waited because you're the perfect person to play Anna. What was it like to work with somebody who originally thought that they would be playing the role?
She's amazing. She was wonderful and just so excited about this project and has been from the get-go and in every way. When I got the job, she was there to talk through certain things, certain choices that I had thought to infuse or bring together into the character and she directed the first couple episodes, so we really worked together in bringing her to life in so many ways. She's just been great. Super, super supportive. I feel really fortunate to have had that experience with her right off the bat -- somebody who's so passionate about the books and the character in general and really wanting to honor Anna in every way.

Jeremiah Paulson seems to be the built in villain. How big a role will he play in the series?
Kim Coates is first of all just an amazing actor and human being. We had so much fun working together. Jeremiah [appears] throughout the season. You'll see him come in and out. Anna is a big thorn in his side and continues to be. She's a very curious person and so there's certain things that happen throughout different mysteries in the park that she can't help but investigate even deeper and find out what the real source of whatever's happening is rooted from and somehow it threads its way around Jeremiah one way or another. He just can't shake Anna, so you definitely see him throughout the season.

Anna has slept with this hot guy who works at the bar. Is that going to turn into a romance?  What does her romantic life look like for the coming season?
Without giving away too much, it's complicated. It's complicated for Anna in so many ways. She's just a complicated person and relationships can be really tricky for her, particularly at this point in her life, and so we will see that relationship evolve in many different ways throughout the season. He's there throughout the journey.

Anna's sister is on the show, albeit by phone. Is there any chance that her sister may come to visit, or is their relationship going to be predominantly on the phone?
Their relationship is predominantly on the phone. But there is an episode coming up where they are together, and you do get to see them together. I can't tell you where or why, but you do get to see them together, and it's a really fun episode because we see the dynamic between them. When they're on the phone chatting, they have this different relationship. When they're around each other, you see Anna go into little sister mode. It happened instantly. It was such a really interesting dynamic shift and we weren't expecting it to happen that way. So, yes, you will get to see them interact together in the same place later on in the season.

So much of acting is reacting to another person in the scene with you, and if all your scenes are on the phone, you're not even filming at the same time and it seemed to me it would be harder to establish a relationship.
 Tricia is so great. Whenever there was anything that we needed to talk through, she was always so, so wonderful. We had a conversation before we filmed something if anything came up just to make sure that we felt good about whatever we were going to be filming if we weren't going to be there at the same time. Molly is Anna's pillar of strength, and she goes to her for everything throughout the series.

William Orbit, the Grammy-winning music producer best known for his work with Madonna, has died at 69. His family confirmed he died at home on July 23.

In a statement, Orbit's family said he would be greatly missed by everyone whose lives he touched through his "music, friendship and kindness," and asked for privacy during this time. No cause of death was given.

Orbit's most acclaimed work came through his collaboration with Madonna, particularly on her 1998 album Ray of Light, which he produced in full. The record went on to win four Grammy Awards, including Best Pop Album, and delivered hits like "Frozen" and the title track. It's widely regarded as one of the strongest albums of Madonna's career.

The pair reunited in 2000 for the album Music, though Orbit contributed to only a handful of tracks that time. He also co-wrote and performed on Madonna's "Beautiful Stranger," which won a Grammy for Best Song Written for Visual Media, and later returned to co-produce six tracks on her 2012 album MDNA, including the Golden Globe-winning "Masterpiece."

Orbit's success with Madonna opened doors across genres. He produced Blur's 1999 album 13, which frontman Damon Albarn once compared to therapy, and which includes fan favorites "Tender," "Coffee & TV" and "No Distance Left to Run."

He went on to work with Britney Spears on Britney Jean, contributed to U2's second greatest hits collection, and produced for artists including Robbie Williams, No Doubt, Ricky Martin, Pink and All Saints. His feature credit on Pink's "Feel Good Time," from the Charlie's Angels: Full Throttle soundtrack, earned him another Grammy nomination.

Before becoming one of pop's most sought-after producers, Orbit built his own catalog as a solo artist, releasing music steadily from the late 1980s through his most recent album, The Painter, in 2022.

Tributes from collaborators and fans continue to pour in across social media as the music world reflects on his decades-long influence.

Ryan Murphy’s TV shows are everywhere. The Shards just premiered on Hulu, and he has another season of American Horror Story coming at the end of September. Fans just finished watching American Love Story, the first season of his true story dramatization of famous love stories, and The Beauty.

Yet, eyes are on the next project he has in store, and it turns out that he’s working on a few ideas at the moment. He’s certainly grateful for the teams that he has on the projects to make sure they can all keep running smoothly. It allows him to think about the next story that he wants to tell, and that could be Glee.

When chatting with The Hollywood Reporter about the projects he’s thinking about, he made it clear that he is “considering” returning to the world of Glee. How serious, the publication wanted to know? Well, right now, it’s just something that he’s mulling over, which he had also told TheWrap at the end of July.

His love for the series is still there, and he knows that Glee meant the world to the fans who tuned in when they were in their 20s. He shared with The Hollywood Reporter that “the music meant something,” and now, he’s serious about bringing it back in some sort of way.

The Fox series was certainly a wild ride when it first debuted in 2009. Starring Lea Michele, Cory Monteith, and Matthew Morrison, it focused on a group of high school students who found a place to belong in the glee club. They all came from different walks of life and cliques in the school, including the football team and the cheerleading squad, and that meant some bullying and rude remarks.

Each episode included covers of popular songs from the likes of Britney Spears, Journey, and Michael Jackson, adding their own takes and style to tell the full story. 

However, while sharing that he is “considering” a return to the universe, he hasn’t committed to it just yet. He has a lot of ideas floating around at the moment, and one of those is a vampire story. In fact, that vampire story is much further ahead in production, as it starts shooting in December.

Murphy shared, “I’ve always wanted to do a vampire story and I always wondered why nobody has made a show about these characters I love [from a book and movie adaptation]. So that’s the next thing I’m going to tackle.”

He hasn’t gone into detail about which movie and book he is taking characters from. There are plenty of vampire stories out there, with Brom Stoker’sDracula being one of the biggest, but that version has been used over and over again. Murphy does say that he’s filming in Europe, though, which opens the door for it to be this iconic character.

For now, eyes are on The Shards and American Horror Story. The first look at the new Lizzie Borden series also recently dropped, and that’s something else from Murphy to look forward to. There’s no shortage of projects.

The Yardbirds scored the first Top 10 hit of their career with "For Your Love," but the song also prompted guitarist Eric Clapton to leave the band over its new musical direction.

"For You Love" was the very first track to push the rock band into mainstream stardom, and landed at No.6 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts and all the way to No. 1 in the UK. The track was a commercial success largely due to the band deciding they needed to steer away from their blues rock sound to more commercial pop rock.

Songwriter Graham Gouldman wrote the track when he was 18-years-old and working in a gentleman's outfitters store. The song was originally for his band Mockingbirds, but was rejected by them and two other bands. It landed with the Yardbirds when Harvey Lisberg signed on Gouldman to their label. Gouldman was inspired by the Beatles' "The House of the Rising Sun" for its sound.

According to The Stranger Brew, Gouldman said that the chord sequence was the opposite of songs sung by American idols in the 50s and 60s. He found it "inspirational" and began writing "For Your Love" while working at the store.

"Using the term gentleman loosely, I think it was near Salford Docks, let’s put it that way. I always think of something quite refined. Yeah. Gentlemen’s outfitters. Yeah. It sounds very refined, doesn’t it?" he said.

"There wasn’t that much refined about it, but I had a good time there and actually started off writing ‘For Your Love’ there as well, in the shop, because I was the manager just before I got the sack. I used to close the shop at lunchtime and write songs. I think everything you do is important to where you are now, obviously, but I’ve got fond memories of that place."

The track would become their first big hit, with drummer Jim McCarty having told SongFacts that they thought it was the right one when they first heard it. There wasn't any problem for them to record it, and "It was the sort of thing that you relied on to get into that other echelon, to have a hit song."

At the same time, Clapton would disagree with the track and the band's decision to move towards a more commercial pop-rock sound. He ultimately decided to leave the band shortly after the song was released as a single and was replaced by Jeff Beck. McCarty admitted there were already some issues before the track was made.

"He was, but there were some differences with the band as well, and I think he found it difficult playing in a band, being a team member. I suppose he did that with Cream as well, but he was always going to be someone that called the shots, really have his own band and play what he wanted. You know, I do what I like thing. [laughs] He wasn’t going to toe the line, so I think it was difficult for him. And then ‘For Your Love’ was the nail in the coffin for him, really," he explained.
