One of Gen Z's Biggest Pop Stars Just Revealed She Memorized Her Childhood Idol's Hospital Room Number
Five days ago, Billie Eilishwas serenaded by Justin Bieber in front of a Coachella crowd, crawled onstage to take the stool as his "One Less Lonely Girl," and immediately posted "can't stop crying" on her Instagram Stories. On Thursday, she turned the moment into a full-on superfan victory lap.
Eilish, 24, posted a 9-slide carousel on Instagram that pulls the receipts from her childhood Bieber-obsession era, and it racked up over 3.5 million likes, 27,000 comments and 146,000 reposts in roughly three hours. Her captions are short and dry: "don't talk to me," followed by, "also that was a dance recital costume pls i wasn't popping out like that in real life."
A Bedroom Wall Lined With Bieber PostersThe cover slide sets the tone. Young Eilish is mid-pose in a red-and-rainbow sequined dance recital costume, arms on hips, and the bedroom wall behind her is covered in four different Bieber posters including the Believe era promo art. Slide three shows her in a white Justin Bieber signature-logo tank at night. Slide seven shows a red Bieber-signature tank outdoors at what looks like a park. Slide five is a phone case with shirtless Bieber on it, in her actual hand.
The Handwritten Bieber TributeSlide two is where the carousel tips from funny into legendary. It is a photo of a handwritten tribute Eilish made as a kid, filled with lines like "I'm a Bieber girl in a Bieber world," "Come on Bieber, spread the FEVER!!!" and "Justin Better Than You." At the bottom of the page, she wrote out Bieber's full birth details from memory, including the date (March 1, 1994), time (12:56 AM), city (London, Ontario, Canada), and even the hospital room number.
Slide six pushes it further. It is a screenshot of her actual iPhone Notes app dated February 28, 2014 at 6:59 PM, one day before Bieber's 20th birthday, containing a full fan letter calling him the "best singer and person in the world" and closing with "HAPPY BIRTH DAY BABY." She kept the note for 12 years. Now 3.5 million people have seen it.
View this post on Instagram Fans Are Spiraling, Including CelebsThe comment section is its own moment. Princess Polly's verified account wrote "she's just like us fr." MeUndies chimed in with "she really said dream big and meant it." Singer Riley Smyth-Anne commented, "This made me feel slightly less insecure about the outrageous posts I was making on my billie fan account at 16 so thank you baddie," and the reply hit 79,000 likes on its own. Fans dug up Eilish's exact 2014 Bieber birthday note and reposted it verbatim in the replies.
It all comes at a week where Eilish has been leaning hard into full-circle fan energy. Bieber's wife Hailey Bieber recorded the moment encouraging her to go onstage. Eilish's mom Maggie Baird publicly thanked Bieber for making her daughter's dream come true. Eilish also recently added all of her followers to her Instagram Close Friends list to tease new music, and her follower count jumped by seven million in two days.
Why It LandedFor the first time since her 2015 SoundCloud breakout, Eilish's biggest viral moment has nothing to do with a song she released. It is a carousel of her childhood bedroom, her handwriting, a phone case, and a note she wrote at 12 years old about a guy she ended up sharing a stage with at Coachella a decade later. That is the story people cannot stop reposting.
Foo Fighters Tap Into '80s Punk Nostalgia in New Song—and Fans Are Feeling It
The Foo Fighters’ latest album Your Favorite Toy proves the band’s staying power once again—this time by looking back. With their upcoming release, the Foo Fighters’ second since the death of drummer Taylor Hawkins, the band leans into a rawer, more stripped-down sound, one that seemingly channels the band's grief and provides an outlet. The sound draws heavily from the spirit of the 1980s punk scene while continuing to explore themes of loss, reflection, and resilience. This new direction feels unexpected-but completely fitting all at the same time.
One of the album’s standout tracks, “Of All People,” is already striking a chord with fans for one major reason: its gritty, edge-driven sound takes listeners straight back to the punk era that defined underground music in the 1980s and helped shape the grunge movement that later influenced Nirvana and the Foo Fighters themselves. Your Favorite Toy isn't a punk album, more an expansion of the band's rock roots.
Fan response has been fervent. Clearly the band isn't alone in its need to channel its sadness. The Foo Fighters' fans do, too.
How “Of All People” Taps Into ’80s Punk Nostalgia @foofightersofficial'Of All People' live from @othervoices is out now on YouTube!!! Watch at the link in bio. The song officially drops on Friday!!! #YourFavoriteToy
♬ Of All People - Foo Fighters“Of All People” channels the fast, jagged guitar riffs and unpolished energy of the 1980s punk rock scene, particularly the underground movement that thrived in Los Angeles during that era. The track’s driving rhythm and raw production capture the urgency and emotion that defined punk at its core, while also reflecting the band’s current creative direction in the wake of loss and change.
Fans are all in, reflecting on the band's return to form with the stripped-down '80s sound in social media comments. One commenter wrote, "I literally stayed up way past midnight listening to the new album it’s freaking awesome!" Another added, "The good stuff is back in a great new way. The foo’s have been reborn!"
The sound isn’t entirely new territory for the Foo Fighters, but it feels especially intentional here. Frontman Dave Grohl has long drawn influence from punk’s DIY ethos, and this track continues that tradition with a sharper emotional edge.
What “Of All People” Is AboutBeyond its sound, “Of All People” carries emotional weight in its lyrics, touching on themes of survival, confrontation, and reflection. The song reportedly centers on a chance encounter with a drug dealer from the rock and roll world, adding a darker, more personal layer to its narrative.
Rolling Stone describes the track as the album’s most poignant moment, writing, "The song’s Eighties L.A.-punk riff is poignant, evoking that scene’s less-than-zero ethos, and his sense of horror at seeing this person still stalking the streets hits hard."
That blend of storytelling and sonic throwback gives the track a unique place on the album, grounding its nostalgia in lived experience rather than imitation.
Why the Foo Fighters Are Returning to ’80s Punk Sounds @applemusicDave Grohl of @Foo Fighters discusses how they were able to choose this batch of songs for their new album, Your Favorite Toy. Listen to the full @Zane Lowe interview on Apple Music and YouTube.
♬ original sound - Apple MusicThe Foo Fighters’ embrace of ’80s punk influences reflects both musical roots and emotional context. In the post–Taylor Hawkins era, the band continues to process change through its sound, channeling intensity and rawness into new material. The punk-inspired approach allows the band to express that energy in a direct and unfiltered way.
By revisiting the sounds that helped shape modern rock, the Foo Fighters are connecting past and present—honoring the music that influenced them while moving forward in a new chapter.
When Is Your Favorite Toy Being Released?Your Favorite Toy is scheduled for release on April 24, 2026. As the Foo Fighters’ 12th studio album, it blends nostalgia with forward momentum, drawing from decades of rock influence while reflecting the band’s current evolution.
For longtime fans, the album offers a return to the raw energy of earlier rock eras. For new listeners, it serves as an introduction to the sounds that shaped generations of music. Either way, its ’80s punk influence makes it a standout moment in the band’s ongoing legacy.

‘Next Level Chef’ Season 5: Who Went Home Tonight? (Night 9 Elimination)
With only seven talented cooks remaining, the challenge for this week’s “Use Your Noodle” episode is to make a next-level noodle dish that honors tradition while elevating this ingredient that is popular worldwide.
Last week, the team competition ended, and it became every chef for themselves, and the Immunity Pin was no longer in play. Tonight, it is being replaced by the Time Token. The chef who creates the winning dish will win a "Time Token," which will give them the ability to either add 10 seconds to their platform grab or take 10 seconds from someone else’s grab.
Last week, the winning dish was cooked by Gabrielle and the second-place dish by Andy, both formerly Gordon’s Girls, so both women were on the top level this week with judge Nyesha Arrington. Gordon Ramsay was in the middle-level kitchen with Christian, Conner and Darian, while Danielle and Cole were on the bottom level with Richard Blais.
Here's our spoiler-filled recap of who went home on Next Level Chef tonight.

The first challenge was 30 minutes to make the best possible noodle dish with the ingredients that were on the platform drop.
The top two dishes were by Cole and Darian with Cole winning the Time Token, which she will be able to use next week.
“I started from the bottom and now I’m here,” she said. “You can’t keep a player down too long.”
They both won the opportunity to cook in the top-level kitchen next week.
What was the elimination challenge on Next Level Chef tonight, and who lost it? Danielle KartesPhoto credit: FOX
Three chefs failed to inspire with their noodle dishes, so Andy, Christian and Danielle were in the elimination challenge. They were given 25 minutes to create an entrée that was completely starch free. It was about balance, flavor and technique. The protein needed to shine.
The chef that cooked her final dish in the Next Level Kitchen was Danielle.
“I had such a good time,” said Danielle, the final home cook in the competition. “Every freakin’ cook was just wonderful. The family members that I made. I just don’t believe this is the end. There’s so much more to do. I can’t wait to work with you again. I’ve been at this for 15 years and I’m going to keep at it. I’m just so proud of myself.”
Next Level Chef airs Thursday nights at 8 p.m. ET/PT on FOX. Streams next day on Hulu.

World Market's Antique-Style Coffee Table Is Beautiful, Functional and Sturdy
Achieving a balanced living area requires more than just filling a room with furniture; it requires a mindful approach to interior design. By prioritizing pieces that offer both visual warmth and organizational utility, you can create an environment that feels curated rather than crowded. A thoughtfully arranged room invites rest, encourages conversation, and reflects personal style.
Mid-century design principles emphasize clean lines, organic curves, and the use of natural materials, all of which contribute to a timeless look that transcends passing trends. Incorporating natural wood into a living space softens the edges of modern architecture, adding a layer of organic texture that creates an inviting, earthy atmosphere. When you invest in high-quality furniture crafted from solid, sustainable materials, you're selecting a durable foundation for your home that ages gracefully and retains its character.

It captures the iconic mid-century modern silhouette while addressing the practical needs of a contemporary household, providing a beautiful centerpiece that hides everyday items that tend to accumulate in common spaces.
Crafted from stunning acacia wood, this table features a warm, natural finish that highlights the timber's unique grain patterns. Because it utilizes natural materials, you can expect slight variations in each piece, ensuring that your furniture is truly one-of-a-kind. The engineering is equally impressive; the table includes two smooth-gliding sliding doors that open to reveal a spacious compartment. This storage design is perfect for tucking away books, magazines, remote controls, and chargers, keeping your tabletops clear and clutter-free. Assembly is required, but the result is a sturdy, high-quality structure that serves as a visual and practical anchor for your seating arrangement.
To maintain the beauty of your investment, treat it with the care that fine wood deserves. Simply wipe the surface clean with a soft, dry cloth to prevent dust buildup. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive polishes, as they can strip the wood of its natural luster. As with all fine wood furniture, be sure to use coasters, placemats, or trivets under hot or wet items to protect the finish. With proper care, this table will be a staple in your home for years to come.

1970 One-Hit Wonder Ranked Among 'All-Time Hottest Songs of Summer' Took 10 Minutes to Write
With summer finally just around the corner, it's time to start curating your warm weather playlist. And while not every summer tune has to have a feel-good vibe, most of them do...because, obviously, that's what summertime is all about. Just ask Ray Dorset, lead singer of Mungo Jerry, the British band responsible for the classic one-hit wonder, "In the Summertime."
Released in 1970, "In the Summertime" was a #1 hit all around the world. Interestingly enough, it only made it to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 — but that's still pretty impressive, especially considering it was written in just 10 minutes, according to Dorset.
As the frontman told the U.K.'s Express in 2014, he got his start as a musician very early on, thanks to his talented family.
"I was born in Middlesex. My parents both sang and played piano but it never occurred to me that music may be my destiny until I received a spooky prophecy from a fortune-telling slot machine on Hayling Island when I was only 10," Dorset recalled. "The message read, ‘The happiest part of your life is going to be mixed in music, you’ll write songs.’"
“About a year later, skiffle music came out, I got a washboard and I was off. Drummer for my first band, Blue Moon Skiffle Group, was Phil Collins – but not that Phil Collins as has become myth," Dorset continued. "My early '60s group The Tramps played alternate gigs with The Rolling Stones at the Station Hotel in Richmond. I was writing songs for fun, but then, in just 10 minutes, I wrote a song that became an international number one: 'In The Summertime.'"
As Dorset explained, when "In the Summertime" topped the charts in the U.K., he was still working in a lab for Timex and had to ask his boss for time off to do Top Of The Pops.
"We had loads of hits, including another number one with 'Baby Jump,' and played a festival in Rotterdam in front of 100,000 people when we blew Pink Floyd off stage," Dorset said.
'In the Summertime' hit the charts twiceOver two decades later, Shaggy's version of "In the Summertime" shot back up the charts. Coincidentally, the reggae-infused cover also peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1995, though it made it all the way to #1 on both the US Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs and U.S. Hot Rap Songs charts. In 2005, Billboard ranked the track #3 on a list of "All Time Hottest Songs of Summer."
In addition to adding rap, Shaggy also changed the song's lyrics from Mungo Jerry's "Have a drink, have a drive / Go out and see what you can find" to "I'm gonna drive and ride and see now what I can find."
This was probably a wise move on Shaggy's part, considering the original was used in an early '90s British anti-drunk driving ad, as The Independent reported. The TV spot showed a group of friends getting into a car crash after drinking at a pub...in the summertime, of course.

1976 Post-Beatles Album That Spawned the Year's Biggest No. 1 Single Hit the Top 50 Years Ago
Fifty years ago today, Paul McCartney pulled off a chart feat that even most Beatles couldn't match.
On April 24, 1976, Wings' fifth studio album At the Speed of Sound hit No. 1 on the Billboard 200, became the band's fourth consecutive U.S. No. 1, and went on to spend seven non-consecutive weeks at the top. It also produced the biggest-selling pop single of the entire year.
At the Speed of Sound was released on March 25, 1976 via Capitol Records in the U.S. and MPL in the U.K. It landed smack in the middle of Wings' Wings Over the World tour and arrived at the commercial peak of McCartney's post-Beatles career. Critics were lukewarm. Fans were not.
The Single That Defined a Year"Silly Love Songs" was McCartney's response to critics who accused him of writing, as the song put it, nothing but silly love songs. The track hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and finished the year as the No. 1 song on Billboard's 1976 Year-End Hot 100. Follow-up single "Let 'Em In" peaked at No. 3 on the Hot 100 and No. 2 in the U.K. Both were massive radio staples by summer.
An Unusually Democratic Rock AlbumWhat made At the Speed of Sound stand out from other Wings records was a structural decision McCartney made intentionally. Every member of the band got at least one lead vocal track. Linda McCartney fronted "Cook of the House." Denny Laine sang lead on "The Note You Never Wrote" and "Time to Hide." Jimmy McCulloch took "Wino Junko." Joe English led "Must Do Something About It." The move was designed to emphasize Wings as a real band rather than a Paul McCartney solo vehicle.
Critics at the time saw it as a gimmick. Fifty years on, it reads as one of the most egalitarian track listings from a major 1970s rock band.
Why the Anniversary Lands NowPaul McCartney is currently in one of the busiest stretches of his late career. He's previously released a long-awaited Wings anthology, just came off another run of his Got Back tour, and Wings is headed to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. McCartney, now 83, has also been candid in recent interviews about what the Beatles breakup cost him and how Wings became the project that put him back in the top spot on his own terms.
At the Speed of Sound was the exact moment that happened. Fifty years ago today, the guy critics wrote off as a post-Beatles soft-rock writer was sitting at No. 1 on Billboard for the fourth album in a row, and the biggest song of 1976 belonged to him.
1972 Hit Film Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’ Became a Late-Career Masterpiece
In 1972, a legendary filmmaker released one of his most acclaimed works towards the end of his decades-long career.
The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie, directed by Luis Buñuel, has since been ranked among the best movies of all time by Rotten Tomatoes, proof of its lasting critical reputation and influence over modern cinema and audiences around the world.
The film follows a group of upper-middle-class friends who repeatedly attempt and fail to sit down for a meal together. What begins as a simple premise quickly unravels into a series of surreal, dreamlike interruptions, blending reality and illusion in ways that challenge traditional storytelling.
Buñuel's inspiration for the film was surprisingly simple: "Some people want to take dinner together; they cannot; and why not?" he told The New York Times in 1972.
Known for his sharp critique of social norms, Buñuel uses the film to satirize the rituals and hypocrisies of the upper class— the bourgeoisie. Through absurd situations and unexpected narrative shifts, he exposes the emptiness beneath social conventions, all while maintaining a darkly humorous tone.
The film was written in part by Buñuel, at least conceptually, but it was his collaborator, Jean-Claude Carriere, that put pen to paper. "I'm a very bad writer. find it very difficult," said Buñuel. "I did not write a single line in the script. I give my ideas and we discuss them and then he writes for me. My collaborators oblige me to think."
By the time The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie was released, Buñuel was already an established figure in cinema, having spent decades shaping the surrealist movement. Yet the film marked a major late-career triumph, introducing his work to a wider international audience and reaffirming his relevance in the quickly changing film landscape of the early 1970s.
The movie went on to win the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film, further cementing its place as one of the defining films of the era.
More than 50 years later, its resonance can still be seen in films that experiment with narrative structure, tone and pacing as well as challenge society as we know it.
With its inclusion in Rotten Tomatoes' ranking, The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie stands as both a timeless classic and a powerful reminder that some of the most daring artistic achievements can come late in a filmmaker’s career.

Miranda Kerr Opens up About Co-Parenting With Orlando Bloom
Co-parenting takes work. And for model Miranda Kerr and actor Orlando Bloom, this includes raising a child together (but separately) in the spotlight.
The celebrity couple started dating in 2007 and made things public the following year. They married in 2010 and welcomed a son, Flynn Christropher Blanchard Copeland Bloom, in 2011. But alas, the romance didn’t last. By the end of 2014, the couple announced that they had finalized their divorce.
Even though marriage didn’t work out for Bloom and Kerr, they managed to raise their son amicably. So how do they do it?
Kerr spoke to E! News during the Environmental Working Group’s Know Your Worth Earth Day Dinner on…well, Earth Day (April 22), sharing that co-parenting requires both parties to “Put the needs of the child first.”
The model went on to add, “That’s so important to think about, is this in the best interest for the child? And that’s what we’ve done from day one with Flynn, and that’s helped navigate so many challenging situations that come up. Kids first.”
This isn’t the first time that Kerr has opened up about co-parenting with her ex. Earlier this year, she revealed, on the We Need To Talk podcast, “ Orlando and I are great friends…We see each other regularly, and we always have been very harmonious. I think there’s such a base level of friendship and respect there that we both have for each other.”
Both Kerr and Bloom have very famously moved on. She is currently married to Evan Spiegel, the founder and CEO of Snapchat. The couple has three children, Hart (born in 2018), Myles (born in 2019), and Pierre (born in 2024). Bloom was engaged to pop starKaty Perry, but the pair split before they could marry. The couple shares a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom (born in 2020).
If you’re wondering how this family dynamic works, Kerr explains (in the podcast interview), “I think because from day one Orlando and I had done a lot of spiritual work and forgiveness was a big part of that. Forgiving each other, forgiving ourselves, creating peace within the situation. And we both knew that the relationship was not bringing out the best in each other. And so when we made that decision to separate.”
She continued, “I’ve said to him, let’s always put the needs of Flynn first. Like, let’s not make it about us…But at the same time, let’s make sure that we completely forgive each other, make peace with each other. Because otherwise it really weighs on you.”
The mom of four also said, “When you have a child, that child is in your life for the rest of your life. So why when you have a child with someone else, they’re always going to be that person's parent. And there are going to be situations where you need to talk, if you like it or not. So why not make it harmonious?” And we completely agree!
This Kirkland Signature Favorite at Costco Just Won Big on the Global Stage
Costco shoppers are always on the lookout for affordable finds that still feel high quality. The retailer's Kirkland Signature line has built a loyal following over the years. Now, one popular Kirkland item is getting attention far beyond warehouse shelves thanks to a major win on the global stage.
As more people head into warmer weather, plans like backyard cookouts, vacations and casual gatherings are on the rise, and interest in easy-drinking seasonal options is rising. That is where this award-winning Costco favorite is starting to stand out in a big way.

The Kirkland Signature Helles Lager, brewed in partnership with Deschutes Brewery in Oregon, has earned recognition at one of the world's most respected beer competitions. At the 2026 World Beer Cup, it took home a bronze medal in the Munich-style Helles category. It also earned a silver medal in the same category in 2025 and previously won gold at the Great American Beer Festival in 2023.
The beer itself is a Munich-style Helles lager, which is known for being crisp, smooth and easy to drink. It has a light malt flavor with a clean finish, making it a popular choice for casual occasions. Many shoppers appreciate that it delivers craft-level quality under the Kirkland Signature label at a price that is usually around $14 for a 12-pack.
Behind the label is Deschutes Brewery, a well-known craft brewery based in Bend, Ore. The partnership allows Costco to offer a rebranded version of a brewery-made lager under its own label while maintaining the quality of a craft product. The result is a beer that has quietly built a strong reputation among fans who want something reliable and affordable.

Why This Costco Find Is Getting Global AttentionThe World Beer Cup is considered one of the most competitive beer contests in the world. An international panel of judges evaluates thousands of entries from hundreds of breweries across dozens of countries. Entries are blind-tasted and judged on style, accuracy, balance and overall quality.
Winning a medal in this kind of competition puts the Kirkland Signature lager in the same conversation as many well-known global breweries. It also highlights how store-brand products have evolved over the past few years.
The lager is often described as a refreshing option for warm weather, especially during outdoor meals, barbecues or relaxed evenings. Its light, approachable style makes it easy to pair with a variety of foods, from grilled meats to salads.
As more people plan time outdoors for spring and summer, interest in simple, affordable options like this continues to grow. What started as a Kirkland Signature staple at Costco is now gaining recognition far beyond the warehouse aisles, thanks to its award-winning performance on the global stage.

2004 Film Ranked Among Best Movies Ever Returns With New Version on Streaming
Quentin Tarantino’s Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair officially releases on streaming next month, delivering the long-awaited new version of the cult classic martial arts saga to Peacock.
Set for May 22, the new version combines Kill Bill: Volume 1(2003) and Kill Bill: Volume 2 (2004) into a single 275-minute film, reimagining the original epic into one continuous story. The updated cut also includes The Lost Chapter: Yuki’s Revengeanime sequence in the closing credits.
View this post on InstagramThough it might be new to most, this version premiered more than two decades ago at the 2004Cannes International Film Festival. A wider theatrical release was planned, but it never materialized. In December 2025, Tarantino finally revisited the project, releasing it in theaters before setting its streaming debut.
What took so long, you ask? Speaking on the podcast The Church of Tarantino, via MovieWeb, the helmer addressed the question head-on, saying, “Basically, I didn't want to do anything with it until I owned it. I own it now.” He added, “The minute it becomes in your hand, it just means less.”
Grossing nearly $8 million in its limited release, the unified cut hit paid video-on-demand platforms in February and is now poised to find an even wider audience on streaming.
At its core, Tarantino's creation follows a relentless and highly skilled mercenary — code name Black Mamba — who vows to eliminate the former squad that betrayed her and left her for dead. Starring Uma Thurman in an iconic yellow jumpsuit, the film blends revenge, stylized action, and martial arts to brilliant effect.
Vivica A. Fox as Copperhead, Lucy Liu as Cottonmouth, Michael Madsen as Sidewinder, Daryl Hannah as California Mountain Snake, and David Carradine as Bill the Snake Charmer round out the Deadly Viper Assassination Squad.
Over time, Kill Bill has become a fixture on best movie lists and IMDb’s Top 250 Movies, often cited for its bold vision, genre fusion, and legendary female lead.

As Tarantino himself put it, “Once Upon a Time... in Hollywood is my favorite, Inglourious Basterds is my best. Kill Bill is the movie I was born to make.”

America's First-Ever Resort Marks Historic 260-Year Legacy
Before America even officially became the United States, the country already had a vacation destination of its own. Surprisingly, perhaps, it's located in the state the first permanent North American colony was established, now known as Virginia, and still operates to this day—260 years after opening.
The Omni Homestead Resort—a sprawling 2,300 acres of charming land perched in the Allegheny Mountains of Bath County's Hot Springs community—is regarded as America's first-ever resort, and the property is celebrating its 260th anniversary this year, just around the time the United States marks its 250th birthday.
A national historic landmark, it laid its roots in 1766, ten years prior to the signing of the Declaration of Independence in 1776.

Over two centuries later, it still welcomes visitors into its massive accomodations. In fact, it has become a bit of a social media star, having been the highlighted destination in several viral posts, providing renewed attention and attracting younger generations to its grounds (on which it has hosted the likes of 24 U.S. presidents since the 18th century). It features 483 guest rooms and spacious suites, and underwent a $170 million renovation in 2023, though, at the time of writing, parts of the property are still under construction.
While diversity is notably not a key feature of the hotel, the property offers several activities and attractions, making it a popular choice for families with young to middle-aged children. Meanwhile, the deep historical aspect of the resort appeals to an older demographic, so it remains a prime destination for visitors of all ages.
Celebrating 260 Years: A Daily Social HourThe resort is celebrating its 260th anniversary in a big way, inviting all of its guests to partake in the fun. Every afternoon beginning at 2:50 pm in the Great Hall, they're hosting a social hour with light bites and beverages. "Our talented pastry team will feature a special themed display cake each month, with six rotating cake flavors throughout the month," the website announced.
Things to Do at the Omni Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VAHot Springs is a small community, but luckily, there's plenty to do on the property's grounds. During the warmer months, visitors can take time to hit the outdoor swimming pool or water park to cool off, but if it's not yet hot enough for that, there's also a massive indoor pool with depths from 3 ft. to 6 ft.
Other indoor activities include an arcade—with mini bowling, a virtual sporting experience with basketball, soccer, football, and more—an adults-only spa (18+), a movie theatre, a kid's club, a fitness center, and billiards, to name a few.
If the great outdoors are calling your name, lawn games, golf courses, hiking, and wildlife experiences await. For little ones, one adorable must-do is the S'mores Express, which includes a tractor ride to stables with horses (equestrian encounters are also an option) and DIY s'more kits near a fire pit.
A short 10 to 15 minute shuttle ride will transport you to the Warm Springs Pools, where a soak in the healing waters has even been rumored to aid Abraham Lincoln's arthritis in the days of old.
Additionally, the resort offers several dining choices, restaurants, and shops.

How Matthew Perry's Death Changed Lisa Kudrow's Opinion of 'Friends'
It's been more than two decades since fan-favorite sitcomFriendsended, and nearly three years since the death of Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing on the series, and both have impacted Phoebe Buffay actress Lisa Kudrow's opinion of the hit show.
“After Matthew died I watched the show again,” she explained in an April 23 interview with The Times. This time, she felt different about the beloved series, but perhaps not in the way fans might expect. Instead of feeling sad or nostalgic, she felt pride.

“Before, I only saw what I did wrong or could have done better," she explained. "But for the first time, I truly appreciated just how great it was."
While she finally felt that she "did okay" in her role (an improvement from her prior self-criticism), she was blown away by her costars.

"Jennifer [Aniston] and Courteney [Cox]? Amazing," she said of her pals, who played Rachel Green and Monica Geller. "David [Schwimmer] and Matt [LeBlanc]? They had me laughing so hard," she added, of the show's Ross Geller and Joey Tribbiani. One star, however, really stunned her.
"And then Matthew — he was just beyond us all," she said. "There was a genius at work, and whatever any of us do in the future, we will never experience something like that again.”
Perry was open about his long battle with addiction, revealing that he became dependent on alcohol and prescription opioids after a jet ski accident in the late 1990s, leading to multiple stints in rehab and relapses.

In his 2022 memoir, Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing, which included a foreword by Kudrow, he said that at one point while filming Friends he was taking dozens of pills a day and even underwent surgeries to counter the negative health effects.
Perry died on Oct. 28, 2023, at age 54. The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled his death an accident, caused by the acute effects of ketamine, with contributing factors including "drowning, coronary artery disease, and the effects of buprenorphine," a drug used to treat opioid use disorder.
Today, Friends is still one of the most beloved shows of all time, and Chandler one of the most beloved characters. When asked why she thinks it still speaks to young people decades later, Kudrow theorized that it "captured a kind of innocence that maybe a younger generation has never got to experience.”
1962 Ballad That Won an Oscar for 'Best Original Song' 63 Years Ago Was Sung by the Movie's Star
Sometimes, when it comes to songwriting, it seems like two heads are better than one. Music history is filled with examples of massively successful songwriting partners in just about every genre, from Paul McCartney and John Lennon to Elton John and Bernie Taupin to Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein.
Another legendary duo, Jimmy Van Heusen and Sammy Cahn, were responsible for some of the most iconic songs ever featured in movies and TV shows, including “Love and Marriage," “All the Way,” "High Hopes" and “Call Me Irresponsible" from the 1963 movie Papa's Delicate Condition, which went on to win the Academy Award for Best Original Song in 1964.
You're no doubt familiar with "Call Me Irresponsible," but the first version that comes to mind is most likely the one recorded by Frank Sinatra (the song was also performed by Connie Francis, Bobby Darin and Michael Bublé). In Papa's Delicate Condition, the song was sung by the movie's star, Jackie Gleason.
The lyrics were a perfect fit for the comedy about an eccentric but well-meaning father:
"Call me unpredictable, tell me I'm impractical / Rainbows, I'm inclined to pursue / Call me irresponsible, yes, I'm unreliable / But it's undeniably true / I'm irresponsibly mad for you"
According to Van Heusen's official Facebook page, after reviewing the script for Papa's Delicate Condition, Cahn "noticed that the word 'irresponsible' crept up throughout it. The character was irresponsible, his actions were irresponsible, and so forth." In an interview with a Syracuse newspaper in 1986, Cahn recalled how Van Heusen seemed to create the melody "out of thin air."
“I came over to his house and he was lying on the couch. I used to call him the great couch composer. I said, 'What do you think about this for a song, and I threw out some words: 'Call me irresponsible, call me unreliable, throw in undependable too' He thought about it for a minute; then he got up and went over to the piano and tapped out that tune.”
Cahn said 'Call Me Irresponsible' was 'gratifying to the ear'In a 1985 interview with Fresh Air's Terry Gross, Cahn said he was "very, very proud" of "Call Me Irresponsible."
"Simply because I want to say and it's not as facetious as it sounds. It has five syllable words in it," he explained, adding, "every song, the title dictates the architecture of the song."
"I said you know, Jim, if I had unreliable down there, undeniable coming after unreliable would be better, so we switched the two lines on top," he continued. "I call that neatening up a song. So we changed the two lines. On top of it had (Singing) 'Call me irresponsible. Yes, I'm unreliable. But it's undeniably true.' That's called graceful and very gratifying to the ear."
Clearly, the Academy agreed.

Black-and-White Classic Was Just Ranked 'the Most Universally Beloved Vampire Movie' Ever
For over a century, vampiremovies have proven to be a hit with audiences. Recently, the publication Collider released a list of the eight most universally beloved films involving the blood-sucking creatures.
The ranking, published on April 23, included popular vampire films like Interview with the Vampire from 1994, the 2014 comedy, What We Do in the Shadows, and the acclaimed 2008 movie, Let the Right One In.
The 1922 black-and-white silent film, Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horror, starring Max Schreck as the startling Count Orlok, took home the list's top spot. Collider reported that Nosferatu is the most universally beloved vampire film because of the grotesque, threatening nature of Count Orlok and the movie's influential, iconic imagery.
Robert Eggers Released His Version of 'Nosferatu' in 2024In 2024, Robert Eggers released his remake of Nosferatu. During a 2024 interview with ScreenRant, Eggers explained he chose to adapt Nosferatu, originally written by Henrik Galeen, because he appreciated Ellen Hutter's (Greta Schröder) fatal victory over Count Orlok. Eggers said he decided to make his version of Nosferatu pull more focus onto Ellen (Lily-Rose Depp), as he found her more interesting than her husband, Thomas Hutter, the original film's protagonist.
"Something that I really loved about the film is that it ends with the female protagonist being the heroine and I thought that it would be potentially more exciting if the whole film is told through her eyes. Because it had the potential to be more emotionally and psychologically complex than an adventure story about a real estate agent," said Eggers.
In addition, he said, while Nosferatu is a horror movie, it is also a "Gothic romance."
"It's a tale of love and a tale of obsession and through her eyes I think we can really get into that more, without it becoming like the tragic anti-hero story of a love lorn vampire, which I'm also less interested in," said the Witch director while speaking to ScreenRant.

1985 Comedy Named 'Best Picture' Stars Robert De Niro in Unlikely Role
When you think of Robert De Niro, your mind could take you to any number of Martin Scorsese films, or even The Godfather Part II.
Back in 1985, however, the renowned Oscar winner, 82, went a bit "against type" and played a juicy supporting role in Terry Gilliam's finest film to date (as many have argued). The director behind 12 Monkeys, 85, released a sci-fi comedy a decade earlier titled Brazil — and its visionary nature is still discussed and dissected to this day.
At the time, the Los Angeles Film Critics Association named it Best Picture of 1985, and Brazil can also be spotted on Rotten Tomatoes' sprawling list of 300 Best Movies of All Time. Here's the official synopsis of the fantasy stunner, which holds an impressive 98% average critics' rating on the review-aggregation website:
Low-level bureaucrat Sam Lowry (Jonathan Pryce) escapes the monotony of his day-to-day life through a recurring daydream of himself as a virtuous hero saving a beautiful damsel. Investigating a case that led to the wrongful arrest and eventual death of an innocent man instead of wanted terrorist Harry Tuttle (De Niro), he meets the woman from his daydream (Kim Greist), and in trying to help her gets caught in a web of mistaken identities, mindless bureaucracy and lies...
There's also plenty of fans' appreciation of Brazil, meanwhile. On a movies-centric Reddit thread, for example, one user boldly proclaimed the film to be "probably one of the greatest dystopian movies I have ever seen." Another user commented in the thread, "This is my favourite film of all time. A lot of that is probably due to not knowing a single thing about it when it just came up on the tv and I sat and watched it alone. Watching it unfold with no explanation or preconceptions made it one of the most enjoyable movie experiences I've ever had."
