Who Should Read The Sea Spinner? @authorjulieI’m still somewhat convinced this was a particularly vivid dream… 🥹 so honored to share that my book The Wind Weaver received the “Meilleure Romance Étrangère” award for best foreign romance at this year’s Festival New Romance! I still have goosebumps from this moment, and from the entire festival. Many more photos still to share from a truly whirlwind weekend, but for now I just want to express the biggest thanks to my phenomenal publisher @Les éditions Hugo New Romance for bringing THE WIND WEAVER to France, to my amazing agents for their tireless support, and of course to my darling French readers. 10 Retro Taco Bell Items We Desperately Need Back on the Menu
Serving late-night fast food cravings for decades, Taco Bell has long since earned its place at the top of many fast-food lists. What started in the early 1960s with 19-cent tacos has grown into an international giant with over 1,100 locations across 31 countries outside the United States. And while the menu has changed significantly over the years, what hasn't changed is customers' dedication and loyalty to some of the fast-food giant's most beloved menu items.
Unfortunately, not every fan-favorite item has stood the test of time. Over the years, a long list of Taco Bell creations have been discontinued, some for understandable reasons and others to the shock and disappointment of fans. While certain items were quietly removed to make room for new menu additions or to streamline operations, others simply faded out of rotation.

This harsh reality of the fast-food business tends to keep customers constantly wondering whether their personal favorites will ever make a comeback. And even though Taco Bell has been known to offer "retro" menu items for limited times, chances are there's still something from the past that hasn't made it back to the menu. Here's a list of 10 retro Taco Bell items that we would love to see make a permanent comeback.
Discontinued Taco Bell Items That Need to Return1. Double Decker Taco View this post on InstagramA true longtime favorite, the Double Decker Taco combined a crunchy taco wrapped in a soft tortilla with a layer of refried beans holding it all together. Despite occasional limited-time returns, it remains one of the most requested items to make a full-time comeback.
2. 7-Layer BurritoA go-to vegetarian staple, the 7-Layer Burrito featured refried beans, seasoned rice, reduced-fat sour cream, guacamole, crisp lettuce, diced tomatoes and a three-cheese blend wrapped inside a flour tortilla. Its removal left a noticeable gap on the menu, even as it has made brief returns through promotional "Decades" menus.
3. EnchiritoFirst introduced in 1970, the legendary Enchirito combined a soft tortilla filled with beef and beans, topped with red sauce and melted cheese. Discontinued multiple times despite strong fan demand, it has returned in limited runs over the years, but has never made a permanent comeback.
4. MeximeltSkysder / Tacobell.fandom.com
A late '80s, early '90s classic, the Meximelt made its debut in 1988, featuring seasoned beef, pico de gallo and a melted three-cheese blend inside a soft tortilla. Essentially a cross between a soft taco and a quesadilla, it spent more than 30 years on the menu before ultimately being discontinued.
5. Volcano TacoA key part of Taco Bell's late-2000s Volcano menu rollout, the Volcano Taco featured a bright red crunchy shell with seasoned beef, lettuce, cheese and a signature Lava Sauce tucked inside. It quickly earned a cult-like following for its intense heat and bold flavor, but ultimately disappeared from the menu with only occasional limited-time returns.
6. Caramel Apple Empanada View this post on InstagramOne of Taco Bell's most popular desserts, the Caramel Apple Empanada features a crispy, golden shell filled with warm apple filling and sweet caramel. It returned nationwide in 2024 as a limited-time item, likely continuing its cycle of brief menu comebacks.
7. XXL Grilled Stuft BurritoDesigned as an over-the-top version of Taco Bell's Grilled Stuft Burrito, the XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito came packed with seasoned beef, rice, beans, sour cream, cheese, Baja sauce and Fiesta sauce inside of a massive grilled tortilla. Its sheer size and heft made it a popular value item before it was eventually discontinued.
8. Beefy Crunch BurritoSkysder / Tacobell.fandom.com
First introduced in late 2010, the Beefy Crunch Burrito featured seasoned beef, seasoned rice and Flamin' Hot Fritos wrapped in a warm tortilla. Despite its quick discontinuation in 2011, it developed an impressive cult following, leading to repeated returns as a limited-time offering over the years.
9. Gordita SupremeA late '90s staple, the Gordita Supreme ran on menus for a brief period from 1998 through 2001. Featuring a flatbread-style shell filled with seasoned beef, lettuce, cheese, diced tomatoes and sour cream, it was later reintroduced as a limited-time item in 2024 as part of the "Decades" menu promotion.
10. Loaded GrillerTaco Bell's Loaded Grillers were budget-friendly grilled snack burritos that debuted in 2012. The lineup included Loaded Potato, Beefy Nacho and Loaded Buffalo Chicken varieties, each featuring simple fillings like seasoned beef, potatoes, cheese and various sauces, all wrapped in a warm tortilla and pressed on the grill.
What Taco Bell Menu Items Have Been Discontinued Over the Years? From after-midnight bites to midday snacks and family meals alike, Taco Bell's historic menu has long delivered a wide range of Mexican-inspired fast-food favorites. Even though some of our preferred picks are no longer available, that doesn't stop the nostalgia of a once-beloved item from sticking in our memory. In honor of the fallen heroes we miss most and the few soldiers that have made triumphant returns, these are some of Taco Bell's most memorable discontinued favorites:
- Bell Beefer
- Tostada
- Enchirito
- Mexican Pizza (later returned)
- Meximelt
- 7-Layer Burrito
- Double Decker Taco
- Caramel Apple Empanada
- Volcano Taco
- Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco
- Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes (later returned)
- Beefy Crunch Burrito
- Beefy Fritos Burrito
- XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito
- Chipotle Chicken Loaded Griller
- Bacon Club Chalupa
- Fiesta Taco Salad
- Gordita Supreme
- Chili Cheese Burrito (regional availability)
- Nacho Fries (later returned)

What Are the Most Popular Retro Taco Bell Items From the '90s and 2000s?While already a household name by the late '80s, the '90s and 2000s were a defining stretch for Taco Bell, producing some of the chain's most recognizable and widely missed menu options. Many of these creations were either fan favorites during their original runs or have developed cult followings through limited returns and promotions, such as Taco Bell's famed "Decades" menus. The following stand out as some of the most popular of the era:
- Cool Ranch Doritos Locos Taco
- Double Decker Taco
- 7-Layer Burrito
- Chili Cheese Burrito
- Caramel Apple Empanada
Other notable items from the decades include the Gordita Supreme, Meximelt (a late '80s introduction that became a '90s staple), Grilled Stuft Burrito, Nacho Supreme, Volcano Taco and the XXL Grilled Stuft Burrito.
Why Does Taco Bell Keep Removing Fan-Favorite Items?Known for having one of the most frequently evolving menus in fast food, Taco Bell constantly reimagines its lineup in the name of innovation and consumer demand. While this can be frustrating for loyal customers, removals are typically driven by a mix of operational efficiency, shifting consumer interests and a strategy that relies on limited-time offerings to create urgency and excitement.
In a lot of cases, items are also removed to streamline kitchen operations. Take Taco Bell's Mexican Pizza, for example. It was discontinued in November 2020 as part of an effort to simplify the menu for faster drive-thru service during the COVID-19 pandemic and reduce packaging waste, which reportedly generated millions of pounds of paper annually. The decision sparked public backlash, with fans pushing for its return through social media campaigns and online petitions. That demand eventually paid off, as Taco Bell ultimately brought the item back.
This constant cycle of removal, nostalgia and eventual revival has become a core part of Taco Bell's identity, keeping the menu in motion while inspiring ongoing fan engagement.
Are Any Discontinued Taco Bell Items Coming Back in 2026?According to Taco Bell's recent Live Más event, the most notable change this year is making Nacho Fries a permanent menu item after years of appearing only as a limited-time offering. While not a traditional "comeback" in the classic sense, Nacho Fries have been removed and reintroduced multiple times since their debut in 2018. Fan demand and backlash following its repeated disappearances helped cement its status as one of Taco Bell's most popular modern menu creations, ultimately influencing the brand to rethink its approach to the product and its role on the menu.
What Is the Most Missed Taco Bell Item of All Time? While the answer certainly changes from person to person, Taco Bell's Double Decker Taco is often cited as one of the most missed discontinued items on the menu. First introduced in the 1990s, it featured a mix of a crunchy taco shell wrapped in a soft tortilla with a layer of refried beans, making it an instant standout among fans. Relatively inexpensive compared to full burritos and platters, it remained a popular order during its run and has continued to surface in fan discussions, menu hacks, and return requests long after its removal.
While the Double Decker Taco is no longer on the menu, its spirit technically lives on in a different form: the Cheesy Gordita Crunch. Designed in a similar way to combining soft and crunchy textures, it replaces the bean layer with melted cheese and uses a different shell entirely, but the core idea of layered textures and bold flavors still reflects what made the original so popular. In many ways, it's yet another reminder that at Taco Bell, even discontinued items rarely disappear completely.

1996 Rock Album Debuted at No. 1 While the Band's Debut Was Still on the Billboard 200 30 Years Ago Today
Thirty years ago today, four guys who met at the University of South Carolina in the mid-1980s and spent 1995 selling more records than almost anyone on the planet did something nobody expected. They followed up the best-selling rock debut of the decade with a darker, scruffier, more alt-rock-tinged album, and it still landed at No. 1.
Hootie & the Blowfish dropped Fairweather Johnson on April 23, 1996, via Atlantic Records. The sophomore record arrived less than two years after Cracked Rear View, which eventually went 21-times platinum and became one of the most-owned CDs of the decade. Fairweather Johnson had an impossible act to follow, and it climbed anyway.
A No. 1 Debut While Their Last Album Was Still on the ChartFairweather Johnson debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in May 1996. Cracked Rear View was still on the Billboard 200 at the time, a stat that felt impossible even then. The new record was certified 2x multi-platinum by the RIAA on June 11, 1996, and climbed to 3x multi-platinum by 1998.
Lead single "Old Man & Me (When I Get to Heaven)" peaked at No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100. Follow-ups "Tucker's Town" and "Sad Caper" leaned into the album's moodier tone, a turn away from the jangly, radio-friendly sound that made "Hold My Hand" and "Only Wanna Be With You" inescapable.
Critics Were Split. Fans StayedRolling Stone writer Jim DeRogatis reviewed Fairweather Johnson under the headline "American Blandstand" and called it bland. His take was so harsh the magazine spiked it and replaced it with a friendlier review.Entertainment Weekly gave the album a B and praised it as "meatier fare" than the debut, while critiquing frontman Darius Rucker's "strained over-singing" on the ballads.
Three million Americans bought it anyway, and the band toured heavily through 1996 and 1997. For a group that had been accused of being too polite, a divisive follow-up was arguably the most interesting move they could make.
Rucker would eventually step away from the band and pivot to country music in 2008, a career shift that produced six No. 1 country hits and three Grammys. Hootie reunited in 2019 and is headlining the 2026 Bourbon & Beyond festival alongside Dave Matthews Band and Counting Crows this September.
Why It Still MattersThirty years later, Fairweather Johnson is the record Hootie fans argue about the most. The singles did not dominate radio the way Cracked Rear View's did, and the album has never been reissued with the fanfare of its predecessor. Revisit it today and the gamble makes more sense. A band at the top of the world tried something harder to love, and over three million people loved it anyway.

Sustainability is no longer just a buzzword; it is a commitment to a healthier planet. By rethinking the items we use daily—especially those related to convenience and consumerism—we can drastically reduce our carbon footprint. Single-use plastic bags are a significant contributor to pollution, clogging our waterways, cluttering our landscapes, and ending up in landfills. Shifting toward reusable alternatives is a simple, highly impactful habit that anyone can adopt immediately. It is about taking individual responsibility for our consumption patterns and choosing durability over fleeting convenience. When we make the conscious decision to bring our own gear, we are actively participating in a global movement toward a more circular economy, one that prioritizes the long-term health of our environment over the temporary ease of disposables.
Being prepared is often the hardest part of successfully adopting a sustainable lifestyle. We have all experienced that moment of frustration at the checkout line, realizing our reusable totes are still sitting on the kitchen counter or buried deep inside the trunk of the car. The key to staying consistent with your eco-friendly habits lies in extreme portability. If a solution is bulky, rigid, or difficult to remember, it often gets left behind. However, when we integrate lightweight, easily stowable options into our daily handbags, coats, or briefcases, we remove the friction of being prepared. Success in reducing waste is built on these small, manageable adjustments, turning a previously disorganized or forgotten task into a seamless, automatic part of our day-to-day lives.

From Conan O’Brien to Chevy Chase: 8 Talk Shows That Vanished Shockingly Fast
The landscape of American talk shows is littered in history: Late-night programs like The Tonight Show and The Late Late Show have dominated airways for decades and made icons out of hosts like Johnny Carson,David Letterman and Jay Leno, among others.
But not all talk shows have had the benefit of that kind of longevity and legacy — some were cancelled after a few months while others barely made it to a couple of weeks, despite being helmed by big names like Joan Rivers, Chevy Chase and Conan O'Brien. Here are eight talk shows that seemingly vanished overnight, due to less-than-stellar ratings, schedule snafus and some good old-fashioned behind-the-scenes beef.
8 Talk Shows That Seemingly Vanished Overnight The Chevy Chase Show was cancelled by FOX after just six weeks on air.Everett Collection
The Chevy Chase ShowChevy Chase was already a comedy icon and movie star courtesy of Saturday Night Live, Caddyshack and the National Lampoon's Vacation films by the time he decided to take on the world of late-night television with The Chevy Chase Show, which premiered on FOX in September 1993.
However, the talk show barely lasted more than a month on air; it was widely panned by critics (“Nervous and totally at sea, Chase tried everything, succeeded at nothing,” Richard Zoglin wrote in TIME magazine) and suffered lower ratings than competitors like Late Show with David Letterman, and so it was cancelled after just six weeks.
Chase discussed the show's failure in the CNN documentary I’m Chevy Chase and You’re Not, per Variety: “I never took anybody’s advice about how to do a talk show. I can do it, I kept thinking,” he said in the doc. “It was hideous. I just didn’t really have a sense of what you do on a talk show.”

The Dennis Miller ShowA fellow Saturday Night Live alum and former Weekend Update anchor, comedian Dennis Miller followed up his departure from Studio 8H with his own foray into late-night: On January 20, 1992, he launched the weekly The Dennis Miller Show, which was marked by an alternative and often absurdist take on the classic TV form.
Though the show was meant to rival those by Jay Leno, Arsenio Hall and the like, Miller's talk show was unable to build a significant audience, especially due to several confounding timeslot switch-ups and purported difficulties booking guests. Despite considerable efforts from Miller and co. — including announcing a 1-900 phone number on air for fans to call and demand the series' continuation — The Dennis Miller Show was cancelled after just seven months.
The titular host of The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers was fired by FOX and replaced by Arsenio Hall.FOX
The Late Show Starring Joan RiversThe dramatic lore surrounding The Late Show Starring Joan Rivers lasted far longer than the talk show itself. The first television program broadcast on the then-new FOX network, the late-night show was hosted by comedy icon Joan Rivers, a bit of television revenge after being passed over by NBCas Johnny Carson’s replacement on The Tonight Show.
Alas, that infamous off-camera beef didn’t manifest into major ratings and viewership for Rivers’ show quickly sagged after its October 1986 debut. Only seven months later, simmering tensions between the host and network executives boiled over: Rivers’ husband and executive producer, Edgar Rosenberg, was barred from the show by FOX and Rivers herself was fired in May 1987 after just 13 weeks, with Arsenio Hall coming in to replace her.
Joan’s final show, which featured guests Chris Rock, Howie Mandeland Pee-wee Herman, saw the set vandalized with toilet paper, slime, and shaving cream.

Thicke of the NightDebuting during the 1983-1984 TV season in first-run syndication, Thicke of the Night was helmed by a pre-Growing PainsAlan Thicke, who already had talk-show experience (albeit of the daytime sort) back in his home country of Canada with the popular program The Alan Thicke Show, which ran from 1980 to 1983.
Sadly, Thicke's primetime follow-up didn't have the same kind of success — the 90-minute show simply couldn't compete with the late-night juggernaut that was (and still is) The Tonight Show, especially with Thicke of the Night's ambitious and then-unconventional mix of musical numbers and sketch comedy alongside the more traditional talk-show format. “‘Thicke of the Night’ was an unproducible, unmanageable experiment,” the host told TV Guide back in 1988. “I don’t think you’ll see anything like it tried for a while."
Luckily for Thicke, he followed up that failure with American stardom viaGrowing Pains only a year later.
Basketball player Magic Johnson hosted the talk show The Magic Hour back in 1998Michael Caulfield / Associated Press
The Magic HourAn icon on the basketball court, legendary point guard Magic Johnson tried to score with his own late-night show, The Magic Hour, which premiered on June 8, 1998, on the FOX network. However, the show was widely panned by critics, many of them citing the athlete's apparent awkwardness as an emcee and lack of natural chemistry with his guests.
One such critic was veteran broadcaster-slash-comedian Howard Stern, who regularly roasted Johnson's series on his own morning program, The Howard Stern Show. In a bit of a ratings gimmick, Johnson invited Stern onto The Magic Hour, but the buzz drummed up by the appearance was only temporary and the talk show was cancelled after just eight weeks.

Busy TonightBest known for roles in series like Freaks and Geeks, Dawson's Creek, Cougar Town and Girls5Eva, actress Busy Philipps flexed a different type of TV-star muscle as the host of the E! talk show Busy Tonight.
The show tried to differentiate itself from the more buttoned-up, male-dominated late-night landscape, with Philipps positioned as "everyone's favorite unfiltered Hollywood best friend giving her hilarious and outspoken opinions on the latest pop culture stories and trending topics, with candid celebrity guest interviews and original comedic segments," per the official logline.
However, despite wrangling in high-profile guests likeJulia Roberts, Tina Fey, Kim Kardashian and more, Busy Tonight couldn't escape negative reviews and a timeslot pushback. Airing since October 2018, the program was cancelled by E! in May 2019.

Longtime Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak dipped into late-night territory with The Pat Sajak Show in 1989.CBS
The Pat Sajak ShowYou know him best as the longstanding (and now retired) host of beloved game show Wheel of Fortune but once upon a time, Pat Sajakwas also a late-night host with his own after-hours series, The Pat Sajak Show, which premiered on CBS on January 9, 1989. (Funnily enough, Chevy Chase was the show's first guest.)
Sajak's series was the network's first attempt at a late-night talk show since The Merv Griffin Show, which ended back in 1972; sadly, that attempt didn't last nearly as long as its predecessor, with CBS announcing the cancellation due to low ratings that April. Sajak didn't even appear on the show's final installment, with comedian Paul Rodríguez hosting instead.
Speaking of guest hosts, The Pat Sajak Show's place in pop-culture history wasn't even cemented by Sajak himself but, oddly, by Rush Limbaugh, who took over emcee duties during a March 1990 episode. The conservative commentator polled the studio audience on the topic of abortion, which resulted in a famously heated argument between Limbaugh and a female audience member.

The Tonight Show with Conan O’BrienIt is arguably the messiest, most infamously short talk-show run in late-night history: On June 1, 2009, Conan O'Brien officially took over The Tonight Show from longtime host Jay Leno, who was leaving the decade-spanning NBC institution to start The Jay Leno Show. O'Brien had culled a devoted fanbase of his own with the long-running Late Night with Conan O'Brien and his signature surrealist and self-deprecating humor but couldn't translate that fandom into strong viewership for his more offbeat version of The Tonight Show.
In January 2010, NBC announced that it was planning to move Jay Leno back to his original 11:35 p.m. timeslot and have O'Brien's show to follow after midnight, a schedule switch-up that saw Conan threatening to quit. But the comedian didn't have to — after two weeks of negotiations, NBC bought out the rest of O'Brien's contract and controversially reinstated Leno as the host of The Tonight Show. O'Brien's seven-month run remains the shortest in the franchise's history.

Cinnabon’s Butterbeer Menu Has a Platform 9¾ Code Harry Potter Fans Will Catch
Three Butterbeers, please, and make one of them a cinnamon roll.
On Thursday, April 23, Cinnabon announced a Harry Potter-inspired Butterbeer menu in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. The chain, which has more than 2,400 locations across 48 states, is the first national restaurant in the U.S. to officially join the global Butterbeer Season celebration.
According to the official press release, the Butterbeer-flavored Classic Roll is “frosted with Butterbeer-infused frosting and served in custom Harry Potter-themed packaging.” There's also a Butterbeer-flavored Chillatta — a “creamy, blended beverage that combines the delicious Butterbeer flavor with vanilla goodness.” Both items are available from May 4 through May 17 at participating Cinnabon and Schlotzsky's locations nationwide.
Butterbeer Cinnabon Rolls?! I'm gonna use my Accio spell to get them directly in my belly!
Dropping May 4th are two new Harry Potter Butterbeer items from @Cinnabon - the classic rolls and a Chillatta.

"We are thrilled to be the first US restaurant brand to join Butterbeer Season and bring a touch of wizarding world magic to our bakeries," said Urvi Patel, Cinnabon's Chief Brand Officer, in a statement. "By pairing our signature cinnamon rolls with the nostalgic flavors of Butterbeer, we're giving fans a completely new way to experience the iconic flavor."
Now, about that Easter egg. Cinnabon Rewards members who enter the code "Platform934" in the app starting May 4 will receive $2 off a Butterbeer Bon. The catch: only the first 934 guests to enter the code will get the offer. The number is a nod to Platform 9¾, the hidden gateway to the Hogwarts Express at King's Cross Station. The brand is also running a sweepstakes through May 17, with 10 winners receiving free Classic Rolls for a year.
It didn't take long for reactions to start rolling in.
"Ok Cinnabon I see you," one person wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
"LEVIOSA MY TUSH," another quipped.
"Automatically getting 🔥🔥🔥," chimed in a third.
"Harry Potter collabs should be released during Fall only... thank you for coming to my ted talk," someone else teased.
Others pointed out the timing: the May 4 launch date falls on Star Wars Day, which is already packed this year with IMAX fan events for The Mandalorian & Grogu and the finale of Star Wars: Maul — Shadow Lord on Disney+. "On Star Wars day?" one person wrote, followed by a laughing emoji.
It's not that you are afraid, it's that you are weak.

Cinnabon has leaned into pop culture tie-ins before. In January 2024, the brand did a Mean Girls collaboration with pink-frosted "On Wednesdays We Wear Pink (Frosting)" rolls to celebrate the movie musical's release. A few months after that, it partnered with WARHEADS for sour candy-topped Bons. The Harry Potter partnership is one of the chain’s most high-profile collabs to date.
Butterbeer Season runs through May 31 and extends well beyond Cinnabon. Hershey’s Kisses, Coffee mate, McCormick, Keebler, and Goldfish have all offered Butterbeer-flavored products this spring as part of the celebration, with some launching new items and others bringing back fan favorites. An HBO series based on the Harry Potter books is also in development, which means there's no shortage of Wizarding World content on the horizon.
This ‘Beyond the Gates’ Star Admits She Was Nervous About Fan Backlash Following Her Character’s Dramatic Debut
Beyond the Gates breakout star Angela Fairley, who portrays Deanna McBride, is opening up about the pressure of stepping into a key role within Fairmont Crest.
Deanna is the much talked about daughter of widower Vanessa McBride (Lauren Buglioli) and her late husband Doug McBride (Jason Graham).
The actress recently spoke with Natalie of Reel Perspectives, where she discussed joining the soap opera, adjusting to its faced-paced production schedule, and the show’s recent two-season renewal.
Reflecting on her early days, Fairley recalled realizing Deanna’s importance during her first fitting. “The actors working there that day were like ‘Oh my gosh, we’ve been waiting for you!,’ and ‘they finally found Deanna!’” she said.
Fairly noted that while she had done professional acting work before, she had “never had an experience like this," and discussed how intense the pace is behind-the-scenes.
She said she was excited as she learned more about the character and how Deanna fits into the world of Fairmont Crest. “I was very excited and I felt a little bit of the pressure there, especially coming in so hot,” she shared.
Fairley admitted she initially felt nervous about how audiences would respond, given Deanna’s explosive introduction. However, after seeing a few episodes air, her perspective shifted.. “I feel now that we've gotten to see her a couple episodes and we see her integrating into the world. Exploring herself in it, I feel really excited!” she said.
Ultimately, Fairley said the experience of working on this groundbreaking soap opera has been unlike anything she’s done before. “I’m still digesting all of it, but it’s an honor,” she said. “It really is an honor.”
Viewers can check out the series from the beginning on Paramount Plus or on Pluto TV’s dedicated 24/7 Beyond the Gates FAST channel. Fans can also catch the series from the beginning replaying on BET's T.G.I.G. (Thank Goodness Its Gates) block, airing Thursday evenings.
New episodes of Beyond the Gates air weekdays on CBS with episodes streaming weeknights on Paramount Plus.
New England Patriots Speak Out Amid Mike Vrabel and Dianna Russini Scandal
The New England Patriots are breaking their silence after head coach Mike Vrabel announced he was seeking counseling in the wake of an alleged cheating scandal involving former Athletic reporter Dianna Russini.
In a statement obtained on Thursday, Apr. 23 by Page Six, the organization said it supports Vrabel's decision to prioritize his family, which includes his wife Jennifer and their two sons.
Vrabel is also expected to miss the third and final day of the 2026 NFL Draft, which is on Saturday, Apr. 25. He is currently expected to be in the draft room on Thursday night.
"The New England Patriots fully support Mike Vrabel’s decision to prioritize his family first, as well as his own well-being," the statement read. "Mike has been open with us about his commitment to being the best version of himself for his family, this team and our fans, and we respect the steps he is taking to follow through on that commitment."
“We are confident in the leadership and communication Mike has established with our personnel staff throughout this pre-draft process," the statement continued. "While he will not be present at the facility on Saturday, we know the draft evaluations are complete and [Patriots Executive Vice President of Player Personnel] Eliot Wolf and his personnel staff are prepared to execute our draft as planned this weekend."
RELATED: Dianna Russini Tweet From 2021 Resurfaces, Fueling Mike Vrabel Affair Rumors
Last week, photos published in the New York Post showed Russini and Vrabel holding hands and hugging at a luxury hotel in Arizona.
After the pictures went viral, Russini and Vrabel both called the photos “misleading” and vehemently denied rumors of an affair. The journalist has been married to Kevin Goldschmidt since 2020 while the football coach has been married to Jennifer since 1999.
Russini’s Athletic editor Steven Ginsberg also came to their defense, telling NBC News that the photos lacked “essential context.”
“These were public interactions in front of many people,” Ginsberg said. “Dianna is a premier journalist covering the NFL and we’re proud to have her at The Athletic.”
Nevertheless, Russini resigned from the publication on Apr. 14, and Vrabel announced on Apr. 23 that he would be seeking counseling in the wake of the scandal.
Later on Apr. 23, Page Six released photos that appeared to show Russini and Vrabel kissing at a bar in New York City in March 2020—seemingly confirming the alleged affair and sparking questions about the timeline of the pair’s relationship.

1940 Hit Film Based on a Famous Book Ranked Among 'Best Movies of All Time'
Alfred Hitchcock's 1940 masterpiece, Rebecca, is still recognized as being an influential, beautifully crafted film. Rotten Tomatoes ranked the gothic romance, which was an adaptation of Daphne du Maurier's popular 1938 novel, as the 114th "best movie of all time."
The film has a score of 98 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Joan Fontaine Opened up About Filming 'Rebecca' in a 1980 InterviewJoan Fontaine, who played Maxim de Winter's (Laurence Olivier) second wife in Rebecca, discussed the role in a 1980 interview with NBC Tomorrow. Fontaine, who died in 2013 at the age of 93, said she appreciated having the chance to star in the movie, which focuses on her character feeling minimized by the presence of Maxim's deceased first wife, Rebecca.
"It was a marvelous thing. I was 21 when I got it," recalled the British actress.
She said that she had Hitchcock, whom she described as "darling," and producer David O. Selznick's support throughout the filming of Rebecca. According to Fontaine, however, Olivier had been vocal about not wanting her to be his co-star. Instead, he wanted his first wife, Vivien Leigh, to be his on-screen love interest.
"He wanted Vivien Leigh. Indeed he did and said so," said Fontaine in the 1980 interview.
According to Fontaine, Hitchcock would give her both words of support and warning when it came to Olivier.
"Hitchcock used to say, 'Come on kid, I'm rooting for you but be on your best behavior. You know, you may get replaced.' It was an awful feeling," said Fontaine
In the NBC Tomorrow interview, Fontaine shared that she had difficulty watching herself in her earlier works, like Rebecca, Suspicion (1941), and The Constant Nymph (1943). She also suggested that she wished she could tell her past self to not pursue acting.
"It's very painful. First of all you feel like you're your own daughter in a sense, watching yourself. I remember I had to see The Constant Nymph at the Museum of Modern Art, I'm in the museum already. And I kept trying to say, 'Don't do it, get off that screen, go home, have babies, live in the country, go on a farm, don't do it,'" said Fontaine, who won an Academy Award for Best Actress for playing her Suspicion character, Lina McLaidlaw Aysgarth.

Anthropologie's $20 Terracotta Planters Are a 'Fabulous' Spring Home Upgrade With a 'Unique' Look
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
The spring season naturally brings with it the urge to freshen up spaces inside and out. From animal prints to rattan accents, nature-inspired home decor is everywhere right now, and Anthropologie has an affordable way to get in on the trend that can also keep your plants happy.
The Footed Speckle Terracotta Planter features an elegant brown and cream print that shoppers said is "giving giraffe vibes," tying into nature-forward design trends without being too over-the-top. At just $20, it's a budget-friendly upgrade that's as charming as it is functional. The best part? Anthropologie also has a matching jar planter that's currently available for the same price.
Footed Speckle Terracotta Planter, $20 at Anthropologie Shop at AnthropologieHand-crafted in Portugal, this adorable terracotta planter has an oblong shape with a rounded bottom. Adorned with a speckled finish, each piece will look slightly different. Though it's taller than it is wide, the four stout legs were designed to keep this planter stable. Measuring 7 inches high with a 4-inch diameter, several shoppers noted that it was "bigger than expected," but worked perfectly for air plants, succulents, and herbs.
This planter is designed for indoor or outdoor use, though there is no drainage hole, so that's something to be mindful of when choosing which plants to add to it. However, terracotta pots are known for being breathable and porous, so moisture should evaporate through the sides to allow for oxygen flow to your plant's roots.
Anura Ceramic Low Jar Planter, $20 at Anthropologie Shop at AnthropologieAn equally fun option with the same speckled print, the Anura Ceramic Low Jar Planter is another $20 Anthropologie pick that can add a bit of whimsy to your plant collection. Also handmade from terracotta, this planter features a wide and low shape that measures 3.5 inches high and 7.5 inches around, with an opening that's just over 4 inches in diameter. Another notable difference is that this planter has a drainage hole on the bottom, which makes it better-suited for houseplants that require it.
Reviewers can't say enough about the "super adorable" design of these planters, calling them "fabulous" and "darling." Even though the nature-inspired speckled print is "unique," shoppers said that "the color is neutral enough to fit in anywhere."

1979 Movie’s Opening Scene Still Haunts a Generation—Now It’s Ranked One of the Most Terrifying Ever
In the opening scene of When a Stranger Calls, a 20-something babysitter named Jill (played by actress Carol Kane) arrives in a dark, creepy home in the suburbs to watch two kids for the evening. The kids are already asleep upstairs when she gets there. Soon a series of chilling phone calls start—on the other end of the line, the menacing voice asks, "Have you checked the children?" This week, this unforgettable opening from When a Stranger Calls was ranked among the "most terrifying" in movie history.
In their recent ranking, Collider ranked No. 6 in their list of "The 10 Most Terrifying Movie Opening Scenes of All Time." In terms of most horrifying, the scene beats out the opening scenes from horror greats The Ring (2002) and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974), among others, if that tells you anything.
The opening sequence ends on a terrifying kicker (spoiler ahead). When the phone calls persist, Jill calls the police, who brush her off at first. But soon they call back to tell her, "We traced the call. It's coming from inside the house." And that's when every babysitter, wannabe babysitter, and latchkey kid across America lost their ever-loving minds. The scene persists when a shadowy figure emerges at the top of the stairs. And no, the kids definitely weren't OK.
Related: 1980s Dance Anthem From 'Flashdance' Was Inspired by a Slasher Film of the Same Name
Culturally speaking, the movie's storyline spread far and wide (I can attest that its terrifying lore hit my elementary school in the early '80s ... IYKYK). The critics at Collider say the film's strong opening is its best asset, and the rest of the film doesn't match up.In other words, this movie died so another opening scene with a terrifying phone call—Scream, starring Drew Barrymore—could live! The Scream scene came in No. 4 for most terrifying, by the way.
The horror film project from writer-director Fred Walton and writer-producer Steve Feke began in 1977. It was originally released as a 20-minute short film titled, The Sitter, which was based on a newspaper article about an actual babysitter in Santa Monica, California, who received frightening telephone calls from a stranger hiding inside the house.
Initially, The Sitter short failed to get attention, but then the writers landed a booking at a Los Angeles theater on the same bill with the film, Looking for Mr. Goodbar (1977). That single-week engagement landed the writer a feature-length film deal, and When a Stranger Calls was released on October 26, 1979.

Princess Diana's Lookalike Nieces Bring Royal Glamour to the 'Devil Wears Prada 2' Premiere In London
The London premiere of 'The Devil Wears Prada 2' on Wednesday night was complete with a touch of royalty — and not just of the fashion kind.
While the film's stars including Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep were of course in attendance, other notable guests included the nieces of Princess Diana: Lady Kitty Spencer, and twins Lady Eliza Spencer, and Lady Amelia Spencer.
The girls, whose father, Charles Spencer is the late royal's brother, all donned glamorous looks for the event. All taking to Instagram, Kitty, 35, sported a red Dolce and Gabbana gown, while twins Eliza and Amelia, both 33, coordinated in black ensembles by Zuhair Murad, per their social media. The younger sisters also dazzled in jewels by Garrard.

While the three have stayed out of the mainstream spotlight, unlike their cousins Prince William and Prince Harry, having grown up in South Africa, they've all ventured into the world of modeling over the years. Collectively, the siblings have starred on various magazine covers and are considered socialites as they're a staple at fashion events throughout Europe.
In fact, the movie premiere wasn't Kitty's first brush with the stars of the film as she was photographed with Streep during Milan fashion week last year.
Eliza also found herself in the headlines last summer as she celebrated her engagement to boyfriendChanning Millerd.
The sisters, who are all considered their aunt's lookalike, have also been known to pay tribute to Princess Diana with their fashion throughout the years. Last year, Kitty sported a blue flowy gown at the Serpentine Gallery Summer Party that had a striking resemblance to what the Diana wore at 1987 Cannes Film Festival.
Along with the film's other stars, including Stanley Tucci, Emily Bluntand Simone Ashley, Elizabeth Hurley's son, Damian, and Donatella Versace also walked the carpet.
'The Devil Wears Prada 2' will be in theaters on May 1.

LED Decoration's Solution 2-Pack of Hummingbird Solar Lanterns, $20 (was $27) at Walmart Shop at WalmartThis solar lantern features a nature-inspired design, perfectly capturing the essence of cottagecore. It has a hollow interior and boasts cutouts all over the surface, allowing it to cast gorgeous shadows whenever the light shines through. The cutouts include ornate hummingbird motifs, floral and polka dot accents, and decorative scrollwork. The hummingbirds give this lantern a magical and elegant feel, while the dainty flowers and polka dots add a touch of whimsy.
Wherever you place this lantern, it’ll make your outdoor space feel magical and inviting, transforming it into an enchanting getaway with storybook charm. You can either set it on a surface or hang it up with the rope handle — they both have their own perks. Placed on a table or on the ground, this lantern will create sharper silhouettes because it’s closer to the surface. If you prefer the shadows to cover a larger area, you can hang it up from the roof overhang or on a tree branch. You can also dangle it from a shepherd’s hook in the middle of your garden. The bottom of the lantern is also adorned with cutouts, so you may want to elevate it if you want to see the design at its full capacity.
This lantern is a sustainable and environmentally-friendly choice because it relies on solar power, so you don’t have to constantly replace the batteries or keep it plugged into an outlet. The top of the lantern is equipped with a solar panel that requires six to eight hours of sunlight to fully charge. It has a built-in light sensor, which signals the light to turn on once it gets dark outside. Once the light automatically turns on, it’ll illuminate your space for up to 10 hours with a warm white hue. You can choose between two light modes, including steady and fade.

During the day, this solar lantern doubles as a decor piece, adding a vintage-inspired accent to your outdoor space. It has a weathered bronze finish, which makes it look like an antique store find.
