Reality TV Host's Daughter Pitches Him for 'DWTS' With Hilarious Dance Video
Mark L. Walberg's daughter is trying to get him from the island to the ballroom.
Over the weekend, the daughter of the Temptation Island host, Goldie Jane, took to Instagram with a pitch to get her dad on Dancing with the Stars.
"What’s a girl gotta do to get him in on @dancingwiththestars this next season?! Let’s make it happen!!" she captioned a video compilation of Walberg showing off his various dance moves.
View this post on InstagramAnd perhaps for some more visibility, she also tagged DWTS judge Derek Hough and pro Emma Slater.
Walberg, an actor and longtime television host, who's been the face of the Antique Roadshow and Moment of Truth, hosted the latest season of Temptation Island on Netflix that dropped earlier this month. He was also the original host of the dating show when it first premiered in 2001.
Goldie, a dancer in her own right, immediately had the support of fans in the comments who would love to see Walberg on the ballroom dance competition show.
"Who do we need tag?! Mark needs that mirrorball!!" one wrote.
"I would give this man 10 votes per voting method week after week after week, PLEASE @dancingwiththestars," added another.
"Would sign! Your dad is a gem!" said a third.
Fans also commented on how great he is on the reality dating show, where couples are faced with temptation to test their relationships.
"I LOVE MARK!!! as a clinical psychologist everything he says on temptation island absolutely hitssssss," one said.
"He’s literally my favorite host ever," another added. "He’s so good with the contestants and lets them know their worth, absolutely love this."

New York Times Bestselling Author Announces New Novel Title and Release Period
When it comes to thrillers, Jeneva Rose is the queen. With hits like One of Us Is Dead and The Perfect Marriage, she’s not afraid to turn the protagonist trope on its head. The great news is she has another release coming, and she’s even announced the season it will be released.
Okay, so fans will need to wait until 2027, but we all know that Rose’s novels are worth the wait. The great news is that there are other releases coming in 2026 to get excited about.
‘Dead Girl Summer’ Is Coming in 2027Rose shared the exciting update on her Facebook page, including a photo of her computer with the title Dead Girl Summer. On top of that, she included “spring 2027” in the caption, to make it clear that this is an upcoming novel to look forward to.
Now for the downside: we don’t yet know what this novel is about. Based on the title, it sounds like a thriller, but Rose has delved into the horror space in the past as well. She also has her Detective King series of books, along with standalone romances, although the title doesn’t quite fit that.
Many fans took to the comments to share their excitement for the upcoming release. Many hope that it will be along the lines of One of Us Is Dead, which along with the Perfect series, is one of her best pieces of work.
Jeneva Rose Has a Release in 2026 to Look Forward ToWe don’t just have to wait until 2027 for a new release from the New York Times bestselling author. Rose will also have Sometimes I Scare Myself coming out on September 22, 2026, just in time for scary season. This is a horror, and not her traditional work. It’s a collection of three horror stories in one book.
While she shared she had something that seemed to be titled Book 13, it looks like that post was connected to Dead Girl Summer. If you look carefully at the photo shared of “The End,” you can just about see “Dead” at the top of the page where the title is in Word. It would track with the release date of “spring/summer 2027” as well.
On top of all this, The Perfect Marriage has been optioned as a movie. Sigal Avin has been tapped to direct with William Broyles writing the script. A release date hasn’t been confirmed just yet.
Sheena Easton’s Billboard Record: After 40 Years, Pop Stars Still Can’t Touch It
Iconic hitmaker Sheena Easton turns 67 on April 27. She's been given the same birthday present she's received for the past four decades: Easton remains the only artist in history to hit the top five on five different Billboard charts: not five songs, five genres. Pop, Country, R&B, Dance, and Adult Contemporary. And she did it all starting from a rainy corner of Bellshill, Scotland.
Before the Grammys and the Bond themes, Sheena was the face of one of the first-ever reality music show. The Big Time caught her in 1980, a singer trying to convince EMI executives she was worth the ink on a contract. They weren't sure. Then she released "9 to 5" (renamed "Morning Train" for us in the States so Dolly Parton wouldn't sue).
It went to number one and it stayed there.
Yet she wasn't a one-hit wonder. The star was a genre-breaking hitmaker. Easton jumped from the girl-next-door vibes of the early eighties straight into the arms of the purple revolution. Prince met her and wrote "Sugar Walls" for her under the pseudonym Alexander Nevermind. It was so risque by the standards of the time that it landed on the "Filthy Fifteen" list created by the Parents Music Resource Center.
Music standards advocate Tipper Gore hated it. Which meant every teenager in America bought it. The publicity made the song unstoppable, and the resulting sales earned Easton her place in music history.
The chemistry on their collab wasn't forced. When Easton walked into the recording studio to sing “U Got the Look” with Prince, she found a different version of the artist than what the public perception was at the time. "His talent was breathtaking, his heart was kind, and all of us have been blessed to have had a glimpse into this sweet and magical soul," Easton said after the star's death.
Before Rihanna had Fenty or Gaga had a jazz album, Easton was jumping from a James Bond theme (For Your Eyes Only) to a Spanish-language Grammy-winning duet with Luis Miguel.
And today, as she celebrates another year, the industry is still trying to figure out how she pulled it off. It could very well be the legendary Scottish work ethic that says if you’re given a microphone, you better not stop singing until they cut the power.
‘Brady Bunch’ Star Eve Plumb Reveals How She Secretly Felt About Iconic ‘Marcia’ Line
Eve Plumb has strong feelings about her iconic “Marcia, Marcia, Marcia” line from The Brady Bunch. The actress, who played middle child Jan Brady from 1969 to 1974, uttered the famous phrase in the 1971 episode “Your Sister’s Shadow.” Plumb was just 12 years old as her character Jan struggled with being overshadowed by her popular older sister, Marcia (Maureen McCormick).
In the early 1990s, the scene was parodied on Saturday Night Live with comic Melanie Hutsell mimicking Plumb’s iconic “Marcia” line.
During an April 27 appearance on CBS Mornings, Plumb, now 67, admitted that the mocking of the scene bothered her 20 years later. "It oddly enough felt like a schoolyard taunt,” she revealed. “It took me back to being that age, and it felt like someone was making fun of my performance, but this was an adult on a comedy show, and I was an adult. So it was a very odd reaction to have, but that’s sort of how I felt.”
In her memoir, Happiness Included, Plumb shared her frustrations about her character, writing, “Jan became a bemoaning middle child who struggles for visibility.” She also revealed that the SNL sketch felt like “a harsh mocking of me as a child.”
Eve Plumb was honored to represent middle childrenPlumb’s character was the most complex on the ABCsitcom about a blended family of six children. During an episode of The Real Brady Bros. podcast, her co-star Barry Williams (Greg Brady on the show) said Jan had the most “interesting storylines” out of all of the characters.
“Jan had more depth,” he said. “She was more troubled. She was a middle child in a classic kind of sense. … And she always seemed to have a lot of angst, which I think gave her some depth in the show.“
Plumb told CBS that fans have shown her and her character a lot of support over the years.
“It’s such an amazing thing, and it’s such an honor to have people feel this way about Jan,” she shared. “It’s so great, and I really appreciate it. At the time, we were just filming our shows. We didn’t have social media, so we were just trying to make the best show we could, and I think it was great that they really included these storylines, that children have emotions, children have hard times. And to have people like that is really wonderful.”
In her real life, Plumb said she never went to a slumber party except for one on The Brady Bunch. Once the show ended and she was in a regular high school, she became a cheerleader and was crowned homecoming queen. “I don’t even know what homecoming queen means,” she laughed.
Plumb also treasures her legacy as Jan Brady. She shut down rumors that she had resentment about the show or her iconic role.
“Somehow that’s become a thing. I don’t know if people want to believe bad things more than they want to believe good things,” The Brady Bunch star told CBS. “The only Brady reunion I didn’t do was the variety show. But every other Brady TV movie I’ve done. I have always spoken highly of it. It’s put me where I am today.”

In an interview from back in 2015, she told Scary Mommy that she feels tremendously lucky for where she is, but she also hopes she's done a good job as a parent.
"The thing about being a mother is that your responsibility and your love for your children is so enormous that it kind of overcomes everything. I knew that my job as a mother was to make sure that my children were happy and educated and safe and to give them every kind of possibility in his life. That’s the way every mother feels. I hope I’m a good mother. I think we all hope we’re good mothers," she shared. "I think my children are happy and seem to be doing well. I feel fortunate in the way that my life is structured, that I’m kind of allowed to explore lots of emotional avenues in my work. I think that’s left me in a place where I have a lot of balance in my life, where I can kind of be together in different places and fall apart in others. I’m lucky."

Popular Italian Destination Implements New Rule, and It Actually Helps Tourists
If it feels like Europe is cracking down on tourism lately, that’s because it is. From entry fees in Venice to crowd limits in Florence and reservation systems at major attractions, a wave of new restrictions is reshaping how travelers experience the continent. But while many of these rules can feel like barriers, one new policy in Capri is a rare example of regulation that actually improves the tourist experience.
The New Rule in Capri: No More Aggressive Sales TacticsCapri, the glamorous island off the coast of Naples, has long struggled with overtourism. During peak season, it sees up to 50,000 visitors per day, far outnumbering its local population.
To manage the chaos, local officials recently introduced a ban on aggressive street solicitation. That means restaurant hosts, tour operators, and vendors are no longer allowed to approach tourists in public spaces with persistent or intrusive sales pitches. Anyone who violates the rule can face fines ranging from €25 to €500, signaling that the city is serious about enforcement.
At first glance, it might sound like just another restriction, but in reality, it tackles one of the most frustrating parts of visiting a busy destination.
Why This Rule Actually Benefits TouristsIf you’ve ever walked through a crowded European hotspot, you’ve likely experienced the constant stream of “Come in!” or “Best price!” from competing businesses. It can turn what should be a relaxing stroll into a stressful, high-pressure environment.
Capri’s new rule changes that dynamic completely.
By eliminating aggressive solicitation, visitors can explore the island at their own pace, without feeling pressured into decisions or constantly deflecting sales pitches. The experience becomes calmer, more enjoyable, and closer to what travelers actually expect from a luxury destination.
It also restores a sense of authenticity. Instead of being pulled into tourist traps, visitors can discover restaurants, shops, and experiences more organically. In a place known for its elegance, that shift aligns the atmosphere with the brand Capri has always tried to project.
Related: The 3 Most Authentic Food Cities In Europe
Part of a Bigger Trend Across EuropeCapri’s move isn’t happening in isolation. Across Italy and Europe more broadly, destinations are introducing stricter tourism controls to deal with record-breaking visitor numbers.
In Rome, for example, new fees have been introduced for access to popular sites like the Trevi Fountain. In Cinque Terre, visitors must reserve time slots for certain trails. And Venice has implemented day-trip entry fees to limit overcrowding. Even Capri itself has added other rules, including caps on tour group sizes and bans on loudspeakers and oversized guide umbrellas.
The goal across all these measures is the same: reduce congestion, protect historic sites, and improve the quality of life for residents. But for tourists, these policies often come with extra planning, added costs, and less spontaneity.
The Difference: Restriction vs. Experience EnhancementWhat makes Capri’s solicitation ban stand out is that it doesn’t limit access, but instead it improves the experience. Many tourism rules focus on controlling numbers: fewer visitors, timed entry, or additional fees. While effective, they can make travel feel more complicated or exclusive.
Capri’s approach is different. Instead of restricting the number of visitors, it improves the experience of those who visit the destination. It removes friction rather than adding it. That distinction matters. It shows that not all tourism regulations have to feel like obstacles; some can actually enhance the very thing travelers are seeking.

A Glimpse Into the Future of TravelAs global travel continues to rebound, more destinations will likely follow Italy’s lead in implementing new rules. The challenge will be finding the balance between preservation and accessibility.
Capri offers a compelling model. By targeting specific pain points, like aggressive street selling, it improves conditions for both locals and visitors without fundamentally changing who gets to visit.
For travelers, that’s a welcome shift. Because at the end of the day, the best destinations aren’t just beautiful, they’re enjoyable to experience. And sometimes, a well-placed rule can make all the difference.

With that being said, Costco might very well have released its most exciting (and altogether refreshing) product yet in the form of their new When We Eat Mango on a Stick.

Sold in packages of 14 individual sticks per container, the new frozen treats are currently sold at Costco for $12.89, making it a budget-friendly steal for all those interested in a fresh, guilt-free summer snack.
As expected, most fans have been quick to heap praise on the brand-new freezer section arrival, referring to it as a great snack to enjoy amidst the heat of summer.
"Yum oh my gosh I love mango!" commented one user on Instagram. "This would be perfect for hot summer days."
"Love that you mentioned the 'not stringy' [part]. That's so so crucial with mangos," added another shopper.
"I just know that tastes so refreshing," said a third.

What Kind of Mom You Are, Based on Your Birth Month
What does being a mother mean to you, according to the stars? Even before welcoming my daughter almost two years ago, I’ve prickled at the idea that becoming a mom results in losing your identity entirely. I was positive that motherhood would feel like a new evolution in my sense of self. So far, that’s exactly how the experience has been for me — something I attribute in great part to the fact that I have a stellium (that’s three natal chart placements or more) in Leo, the fixed fire sign ruled by the sun, which oversees self-image, identity, and purpose. It goes to show just how much your unique astrology influences your experience as a mom and how you go about raising a child.
No matter what kind of mom you are, becoming a parent is undoubtedly one of the most magical life experiences. After all, you not only get to see how you evolve into your new caregiving role, but you get a front-row seat to watching your little human grow into who they’re meant to be. As an expert astrologer and the author of Raising Baby by the Stars: A New Parent’s Guide to Astrology, I am passionate about empowering moms to not only understand their little one but themselves through the lens of their birth chart. It can also help to consider your birth month when exploring what kind of mom you are — or will be.

January: The Pragmatic, Future-Oriented MomIf you were born during the first month of the year, you were born while the sun was moving through hardworking, grounded Capricorn or eccentric, humanitarian Aquarius. Both signs thrive on thinking about what comes next and how they can craft the next chapter of their dreams. They’re hardworking and often quite innovative. In turn, you’re the kind of mom who is apt to instill a serious work ethic in your child. You’ll think about how something they foster at an early age (like a love of theater or martial arts) will bolster their resume down the road. And depending on the moment, you can get behind tradition or thwarting convention, so you excel at teaching your kiddo when to revel in a family bonding moment and when to strike out on their own.

February: The Artistic, Deeply Empathic MomBorn when the sun was moving through inventive fixed air sign Aquarius or dreamy, rose-colored glasses-wearing mutable water sign Pisces, your imagination is one of your greatest strengths as a mother. You’ll nurture any tendency your child has to daydream or innovate, steering them toward both learning about STEM and getting lost in fantasy novels. They’ll also feel comfortable leaning on you to work through some of their most challenging emotions, because it’s territory you have a wonderful perspective on, and you know how to be a warm shoulder to lean on.
March: The Creative, Go-Getter MomBecause you were born while the sun was moving through mystical, spiritual, mutable water sign Pisces or dynamic, action-oriented cardinal fire sign Aries, you’re in sync with both the ethereal and the concrete aspects of life. Your child likely sees you as both wise and artistic and as someone who knows how to get things done. Whether they lean on you as they think up an out-of-the-box approach to a school project or for motivation before they attempt to learn how to swim or compete in a major school athletic event, they can trust that you’ll be their greatest cheerleader and ally as they take on the world.

April: The Mindful, Down-to-Earth MomBorn when the sun was moving through Aries, the impulsive, playful cardinal fire sign, or Taurus, the grounded, slow-and-steady fixed earth sign, you’re a truly salt of the earth kind of parent. You’ll teach your child that what truly matters is what you can see, touch, hear, taste, and smell — and that you’ll never go wrong by living in the moment and making the most of every single day. At the same time, you’ll apply your innate go-getter mentality and earthy rationality to any goal that your child wants to set. From you, they’ll learn that they have everything they need to go to bat for their dreams — and they can pursue them at whatever pace is best for them.
May: The Social, Fun-Loving MomWhether you were born when the sun was moving through friendly, practical fixed earth sign Taurus or buzzy, people-oriented mutable air sign Gemini, relationships are very much a top priority to you in life. You’ll go out of your way to nurture a social circle with other parents in your neighborhood. In turn, you’ll help your little one have an equally vibrant social life by signing them up for classes, taking them to the library, and encouraging them to try an array of extracurriculars. You’ll also bond with them through fun-filled experiences, like hosting picnics at the park and holidays at your house, and having lots of lively, bubbly conversations.
June: The Upbeat, Sentimental MomBorn when the sun was in either social mutable air sign Gemini or deeply caregiving cardinal water sign Cancer, you’re adaptable, adept at communicating, and emotionally wise. You tend to be a natural-born visionary who loves coming up with sweeping game plans for your child, whether you’re planning a family vacation, their first concert, or a trip to check out their dream college. With your big heart and love of music, art, and culture, you’ll always prioritize teaching your child, ensuring they feel nurtured, and making sweet memories alongside your nearest and dearest.
July: The Joyful, Strong-Willed MomWhether you came into the world when the sun was moving through nurturing cardinal water sign Cancer or powerful, charismatic fixed fire sign Leo, your heart always leads the charge. You’re loving, confident, dynamic, family-oriented, and deeply protective of your child. You might have a tendency to shower them in gifts, as that may be your love language, or to offer warm, sunny compliments galore. Because you tend to be strong-willed, you might not always see eye-to-eye with your little one, but even when that happens, they’ll feel like you only want the best for them and always have their back.

You’re also highly devoted to being helpful and want to impart that attention to detail to your little one, whether you’re teaching them how to put away their toys or coaching them through a writing assignment. And you can trust that, as a result of your innate warmth and emotional intelligence, your child is sure to bloom.
September: The Thoughtful, Supercommunicator MomBorn under either sensitive, cerebral, mutable earth sign Virgo or partnership-oriented, cardinal air sign Libra, you’re thoughtful, detail-oriented, balance-seeking, and diplomatic. You cherish self-expression and building your network — something your child can’t help but learn to prioritize as a result of watching and learning from you. You’ll encourage them to reflect on their feelings and dreams, then share them openly, while also encouraging them to infuse the world with more harmony and peace. Tom Hanks Is So Cute Grooving in the Crowd During His Handsome Son Chet Hanks’ Concert
Chet Hanks, the handsome son of Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson, had a star supporter in the audience at Stagecoach this weekend: His dad.
While Tom is known for iconic films like Apollo 13, Saving Private Ryan, and Philadelphia, Chet, 35, is coming into his own these days. After early roles, guest-starring on Curb Your Enthusiasm and Atlanta, Chet has gone on to recurring roles on series like Empire and Your Honor. But during a performance with his band, Something Out West, at Stagecoach on Saturday, a fan spotted Tom grooving in the crowd like one proud papa.
"Watching Chet Hanks then realizing his dad is next to me," the concert-goer shared on her video, which showed Chet singing onstage, and then panned to Tom, grooving in the crowd in jeans and a cool hat. We love a supportive dad!
View this post on Instagram Does Chet Hanks Star in any Current TV Shows?Yes! Now, he stars alongside Kate Hudson in a recurring role on the Netflix series Running Point. At the season 2 Los Angeles premiere at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, Hanks looked quite handsome as he worked the red carpet with his castmates.

Did Chet Hanks Get Stuck in Colombia? It seems so, but he’s back home now! Apparently, the actor was recently traveling on his Greek passport and visiting friends in Puerto Rico when he decided to head to Colombia for a few days. However, because he didn’t have his American passport, which was about to expire, he was stuck in Colombia. In a unique Instagram video, Hanks declared, “free me.”
“So I’m literally stuck in Colombia. I’m stuck in Medellin. Granted, there’s worse places to be stuck, but I literally have no f—— idea what I’m going to do. And the only embassy to get this shit settled is in Bogotá. I don’t want to go to Bogotá. So, yeah, free me. You know what I’m saying? Free me,” Hanks told the camera.
Don’t worry, because Hanks managed to make it home to sunny Los Angeles safely!
His Memorable Curb Your Enthusiasm RoleAny fan of Curb Your Enthusiasm will remember the hilarious episode where Sammy, the daughter of Jeff and Susie, has a new boyfriend, Victor. But some may not remember that Chet Hanks plays Victor. Naturally, Larry David makes a fool of himself by refusing to say “Thank you for your service” to Victor, enraging the entire household. It’s definitely worth a rewatch!

With that being said, it should hardly come as a surprise that Hershey's is leaning into the flexibility of the iconic red treat with their brand-new interactive dessert, the Twizzlers Pull 'n' Peel Milkshake.
As the name might suggest, the Twizzlers Pull 'n' Peel Milkshake features the same distinct flavor notes commonly found in the eye-catching candy, combined with the rich creaminess of a homemade milkshake.
Blending strawberries and cream ice cream with fresh milk, the resulting mixture is then topped with a swirl of whipped cream, vibrant sprinkles and a hearty supply of Twizzlers Pull 'n' Peel pieces.
The resulting mixture is the ideal treat for all those with an avid sweet tooth, allowing you to tuck into a frothing milkshake and Twizzlers' famous gummy candies in one singular dish.
As great as the treat might sound, it's crucial to note that the Twizzlers Pull 'n' Peel Milkshake can only be found at Hershey World locations across the globe. This includes such standout destinations as Hershey, PA; Times Square; Las Vegas; Niagara Falls; and Singapore.

"Might need to road trip to Niagara Falls soon!" one fan commented on Instagram.
"Group Hershey's trip when?" asked another user.

"WHY TF IS IT ONLY FOR A LIMITED TIME ?" a second demanded to know.
"Why would you take sweet n sour out in the first place?" another joked.

Shirley MacLaine Steps Out in Rare Outing Ahead of Her 92nd Birthday
Shirley MacLaine was seen enjoying a casual lunch in Malibu on April 18, marking a rare public appearance for the Hollywood icon just days before her 92nd birthday. The outing offers a glimpse of the Oscar-winning actress during a quiet moment away from the spotlight.
In photos published by Page Six, MacLaine appeared to be in good spirits as she left the restaurant after her meal. She was slightly unsteady on her feet and held onto the backs of chairs and someone’s arm as she carefully made her way through the outdoor area of the restaurant.
MacLaine wore a pair of dark slacks, a chocolate brown shirt and a tan cardigan sweater. She accessorized with a pair of round-rimmed sunglasses and a couple of rings.
MacLaine, who is best known for the 1983 film Terms of Endearment, recently told People magazine that she is doing well and that she is "really healthy," despite her advanced age. And, believe it or not, she's still working, though she's become a bit more selective in what she takes on these days.
In 2022, MacLaine appeared in two episodes of Only Murders in the Building starring Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez. Though this is listed as her most recent role on IMDb, she's got a few things in the works for the year ahead, including roles in People Not Places and Margret and Stevie. In October 2026, MacLaine will release The Wall of Life, a book that will provide fans a look back at her life by way of stories and photographs.

Beethoven's 'Für Elise' Is a 216-Year-Old Mystery Involving a Secret and a Lock of Hair
On April 27, 1810, Ludwig van Beethoven finished a piano bagatelle that he never intended for the public to hear. He scribbled a dedication on the top of the page and tucked it away. The world didn't lay eyes on it until 1867. By then, the composer was long dead, and the woman who inspired the most famous melody in history had vanished into the fog of the 19th century.
We call it "Für Elise." But there is a very good chance her name wasn't Elise at all.
The reigning theory is a case of bad penmanship. Ludwig Nohl, the man who discovered the manuscript forty years after Beethoven’s death, claimed the paper was dedicated to a woman named Elise. The problem? The original paper is lost.
Beethoven’s handwriting was notoriously illegible, a jagged scrawl that looked like a bird trapped in an inkwell. Most historians bet that Nohl misread "Therese."
Therese Malfatti was the woman Beethoven wanted to marry in 1810. He was forty; she was nineteen. He bought a new suit. He got a haircut. He proposed. She turned him down for a nobleman. It was a crushing blow for a man already going deaf and losing his grip on social graces.
But there is a second candidate who fits the "Elise" bill. Elisabeth Röckel was an opera singer and a close friend of the composer. Her nickname in certain circles? Elise.
She was moving away from Vienna in 1810, and some scholars argue this haunting, repetitive piano loop was a parting gift. When she died, she had a lock of Beethoven’s hair in her possession and a quill pen he had given her.
And then there is the child prodigy, Elise Barensfeld. She was a thirteen-year-old piano prodigy who lived near Malfatti. Some think Beethoven wrote the piece as a favor to Therese, intended as an easy practice exercise for the young girl.
Why the Mystery ContinuesAnd while modern music means fans know (or can figure out) the inspiration behind every Taylor Swift bridge and trending rap feuds. But "Für Elise" remains a question mark.
It is a short, moody piece of music with the feel of a private conversation we weren't supposed to overhear. Yet the magic of the piece is that it isn't Beethoven’s song anymore; it belongs to whoever you’re thinking about when you hear those first five notes.
Why This Record-Breaking 'Straddle Coaster' Is the Steampunk Adventure Your Summer Needs
Six Flags New England has officially launched its newest thriller, the Quantum Accelerator, and it’s officially time to update your summer travel plans. While this steampunk-themed adventure made its debut to the public on April 17, it is already establishing itself as a standout for both hardcore coaster fans and families looking for their next shared adrenaline rush.
“Quantum Accelerator is an exciting new addition that raises the bar for family thrill rides at Six Flags New England,” park manager Bill Falzone says in a press release. “This coaster is sure to become a favorite among guests of all ages. It's the perfect complement to our world-class lineup and reinforces Six Flags New England as the go-to destination for family fun in 2026."
Related: Six Flags New England Is Opening a One-of-a-Kind Roller Coaster in 2026
Why the Quantum Accelerator Is the Ride to WatchUnlike your standard coaster that slowly climbs a hill, this "straddle" coaster puts you in a motorcycle-style position on a hover-bike, leaning forward into the action. The experience is defined by two high-speed launches—one straight out of the gate and a second mid-course burst that propels you to a top speed of 45 mph.
“This unique feature allows you to lean forward and accelerate into the adventure,” the park says. “Keeping a low physical profile helps you manage the high-speed launches, tight twists and banked curves to achieve the maximum adrenaline rush.”
While it’s billed as family-friendly, don’t let the label fool you. The ride features 11 "airtime" moments (that weightless feeling in your stomach) and a Stengel Dive, a unique maneuver that tilts riders over 90 degrees during a high-speed turn. Early riders have praised the ride's "convoluted layout," noting that the winding track makes it nearly impossible to predict where you're headed next.
Related: The Roller Coasters Amusement Park Superfans Are Most Excited to Ride in 2026
What’s New in the CanyonThe coaster is the centerpiece of a larger revitalization of the park's Crackaxle Canyon area. In addition to the ride, the park has upgraded several amenities to round out the experience:
- JB’s Smokehouse: Located directly across from the ride, this spot has introduced fresh menu items like sirloin steak sandwiches and salads to go along with its signature smoked barbecue.
- Elevated Dining: Across the park, expect a major step up in food quality, with new offerings like deep-fried Brussels sprouts at Chop Six and hand-breaded fish and chips at the renovated Riverboat Café.
- Retail & Refreshments: New gear is available at Screamore Gadgets, while Doc Pemberton's Refresh Station provides a convenient pit stop for those needing a quick drink before heading back into the queue.
With wait times already reaching over two hours during the opening weeks, you’ll want to arrive early to ensure you get your seat on the bike.
