Costco has officially rolled out a new chicken tenders meal at food courts nationwide, following a limited test run in select markets that began back in May, according to USA Today. The $6.99 basket comes with five tenders and a generous side of dipping sauce, and according to videos circulating online, the meal clocks in at a hefty 1,640 calories.

It's not the first time Costco's food court has drawn attention for oversized portions. The warehouse chain has long been known for its generous pizza slices and famously unchanged $1.50 hot dog and soda combo, and the new tenders appear to be following that same playbook. Instagram influencer Costcoguide said the portion size is massive, joking that the tenders are practically the size of her own head.

But it's the accompanying dipping sauce that's generated the most buzz. Costcoguide compared the flavor to Chick-fil-A's honey barbecue sauce, while another influencer who posts under the handle Photogami tried the sauce himself and offered his own take on what's in it, guessing it's a mix of Chick-fil-A's honey mustard and their signature sauce, in a rough three-to-one ratio.

Reactions across both influencers' posts have been anything but unanimous. Some commenters said they were eager to try the tenders for themselves, while others seemed skeptical from the jump, with a few admitting they were surprised to find themselves tempted by a Costco food court item at all.

Once people actually got their hands on the tenders, opinions became even more divided. Several praised them outright, and one commenter guessed Costco may be targeting shoppers looking for a protein-heavy, gym-friendly meal, eventually admitting the tenders "looked yummy" despite their initial skepticism.

Others were considerably less enthusiastic. Multiple people described the tenders as dry and overly salty, and one reviewer said the batch was inconsistent, noting that the first tender tasted great, while the rest came out stringy or oddly dense.

Chris Howarth was bitten twice by a rattlesnake while visiting family in Oroville, California, initially mistaking the bite for thorns in his mother's garden. The incident quickly turned serious, requiring 54 rounds of anti-venom across two hospitals after the first facility ran out of its supply and Howarth had to be airlifted to Stanford Hospital for additional treatment.

The ordeal left Howarth with a $1.3 million bill before insurance, according to his wife Jenny, who set up a GoFundMe to help cover the family's remaining costs. The fundraiser, which asks for $12,000, has already raised $10,000. Jenny said her husband is still recovering and is around "80%" of the way back to normal, though lingering fatigue has made day-to-day life difficult. The family has also gone without a paycheck for nearly two months, since Howarth hasn't been able to work since late May.

Since the story broke, readers have flooded the internet with reactions ranging from disbelief to outright anger over the cost of Howarth's care.

One commenter, who claimed familiarity with veterinary pricing, pointed out that anti-venom for animals runs a fraction of the human cost, writing that the "dose amount is exactly the same for a human," and calling the discrepancy "theft big time." The comment racked up hundreds of likes.

Others zeroed in on the $61,000-a-night charge at Stanford Hospital. One reader who said they'd been treated there before called it "terribly overrated" and argued it should be "nowhere near that expensive." Nurse influencer Jen Hamilton is turning her difficult situation into something positive for others.

"I had therapy today, and Shamika does not allow me to stay down," Hamilton explained in a Friday, July 17, Instagram video. "Yes, feel those feelings, but get your ass up...And I got to thinking, what is my routine when something really bad happens? It's to take that thing and turn it into something good."

She continued, "I would not wish what I am going through right now on anybody in the world. But, what I'm finding is so common, is how many women had to leave a bad situation. In my situation—yes, it sucks so hard—I am so very blessed to have been the breadwinner so that I can actually leave."

Hamilton — who recently announced her split from husband Brian — went on to explain that she wants to raise money to help women who are unable to leave their difficult situations.

She called on her 2 million followers for help coming up with a slogan that she hopes to put on T-shirts to fundraise.

The labor and delivery nurse first announced her separation in a heartbreaking social media update on June 13.

"Day 1: absolutely devastated. Please don’t try to reach out to anybody on my behalf. That would make everything so much worse for me. Please just let me grieve," she captioned a since-deleted video. "My heart is absolutely shattered."

She later confirmed that she and Brian, who share two sons, had called it quits after nearly 15 years together.

"Yes, we are separating. This comes with enormous pain for the both of us but also gratitude for the 15 years of shared history, love, and friendship," the former couple said in a joint statement. "What we are committed to is loving each other well through this transition and placing the wellbeing of the family we created at the center."

Fifty years ago, one of the most unforgettable moments in Olympic history unfolded in Montreal, and it wasn't just because of an extraordinary routine. It was because the technology wasn't prepared for what came next.

On July 18, 1976, 14-year-old Romanian gymnast Nadia Comăneci became the first athlete ever to receive a perfect 10.0 in Olympic gymnastics competition, forever changing the sport. Her flawless uneven bars routine stunned judges, spectators and television audiences alike, but perhaps the most famous reaction came from the electronic scoreboard itself. Built to display only three digits because no one expected a perfect score, it flashed "1.00" instead of 10.00, leaving the crowd momentarily confused before realizing they had just witnessed history.

Looking back nearly five decades later, Comăneci said she arrived in Montreal with modest expectations. "There was no expectation," she told Olympics.com in 2024. "I knew I was good at what I was doing, but I didn't know how good I was compared to others."

Since every gymnast performed the same compulsory routine, she said what separated her performance was what she now calls the "Nadia touch."

“Everybody had to do the same routine by the book,” said Comaneci. “What does it mean to be better because everybody will do the same thing. Like, what can I add to that? I call it the Nadia touch. I added amplitude to every skill, so it looks like in the book, but I just added a little something. It was my personal touch."

"I didn't even think about the score," she said. "I was more into not making a mistake ... That was the only thing that was in my head."

That first perfect score proved to be only the beginning. By the end of the Montreal Olympics, Comăneci had earned seven perfect 10s, won three gold medals, a silver and a bronze, and became the youngest Olympic all-around champion in gymnastics history, a record that still stands because the sport later raised its minimum age requirement from 14 to 16.

The performance instantly transformed the teenager into one of the biggest stars of the Games. Sports Illustrated described her as "brilliant and beguiling," writing that her "precision and daring have never been seen before in an Olympics." The magazine added that she "so captivated the Games" that fans gladly paid far above face value simply for the chance to watch her compete.

Her longtime coach Béla Károlyi believed her greatness extended beyond remarkable athletic ability. As he explained to Sports Illustrated, Comăneci possessed "the physical qualities—strength, speed, agility. The intellectual qualities—intelligence and the power to concentrate," before adding the trait he valued most: "Nadia has courage."

Comăneci's influence reached far beyond the medals she collected. Her artistry, precision and composure helped spark a worldwide surge in gymnastics' popularity and inspired generations of future champions. For more than four decades, Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash were one of country music's most beloved couples, sharing the stage almost as often as they shared their lives.

So when Johnny made what would become his final public performance on July 5, 2003, it came just two months after losing the woman he called the love of his life.

June died on May 15, 2003, at age 73, following complications from heart surgery. Her death marked the end of one of country music's most enduring partnerships, leaving Cash devastated after 35 years of marriage.

Still grieving, the "Ring of Fire" singer made one final appearance during the Carter Family Fold concert in Hiltons, Virginia. Joined by his son, John Carter Cash, he performed several of his signature songs, including "Folsom Prison Blues," "Ring of Fire" and "Understand Your Man."

Those in attendance later recalled that Cash appeared physically frail, but his unmistakable voice and presence remained as powerful as ever. The performance would ultimately become the last time fans saw him onstage.

Cash never performed publicly again.

Less than two months later, on September 12, 2003, the country icon died at age 71 from complications related to diabetes.

In the months leading up to his death, Cash often spoke about the profound impact June had on his life and career. Following her passing, he wrote in a statement that "the spirit of June Carter overshadows me tonight with the love she had for me and the love I have for her," adding that they remained connected "somewhere between here and heaven."

The couple's love story had inspired generations of fans, culminating in the 2005 Academy Award-winning film Walk the Line, which introduced their relationship to an entirely new audience.

More than two decades later, Cash's final public performance remains one of the most poignant moments in country music history. It wasn't just the end of an extraordinary career.

It was a final tribute from a man still mourning the partner who had shared nearly every step of his remarkable journey.

Rick Springfield proved he was more than a one-hit wonder when "Don't Talk to Strangers" became one of the biggest rock songs of 1982. 

Released as the lead single from his album Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet, the track climbed to No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it remained a chart favorite for 21 weeks, cementing Springfield's place among the biggest rock stars of the decade.

The song became Springfield's second-biggest hit in the United States, following the chart-topping success of "Jessie's Girl" in 1981. Although "Don't Talk to Strangers" spent four weeks at No. 2, it was prevented from reaching the top spot by Paul McCartney and Stevie Wonder's "Ebony and Ivory."

Its commercial success helped prove that Springfield's breakthrough was no fluke. Instead, it marked the beginning of a run that saw him score five Top 10 singles in the United States and become one of the most reliable hitmakers of the early 1980s.

Following the massive popularity of Working Class Dog and its No. 1 single "Jessie's Girl," many expected Springfield's success to fade. Instead, Success Hasn't Spoiled Me Yet delivered another major hit with "Don't Talk to Strangers."

The single peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100, reached No. 3 in Canada, climbed to No. 10 in Australia and also appeared on several international charts. By the end of 1982, it ranked among the year's biggest songs, finishing No. 20 on Billboard's year-end Hot 100.

The song also earned Springfield a 1983 Grammy Award nomination for Best Male Pop Vocal Performance, adding another milestone to his career following his Grammy win for "Jessie's Girl."

American Songwriter noted that "Don't Talk to Strangers" helped solidify Springfield as a lasting star rather than a short-lived pop sensation.

Springfield wrote and recorded "Don't Talk to Strangers," drawing inspiration from an earlier composition titled "Spanish Eyes," first recorded during the Sound City sessions in 1978.

The lyrics reflected concerns about a long-distance relationship with his then-girlfriend, Barbara Porter, who later became his wife. Years later, Springfield openly discussed the emotions behind the song.

The confession revealed that the song's themes of jealousy and distrust came from his own experiences rather than fictional storytelling.

American Songwriter also described the record as taking "a paranoid view of long-distance love," noting that Springfield later admitted he was projecting his own infidelity into the lyrics.

Born Richard Lewis Springthorpe on Aug. 23, 1949, in Guildford, Australia, Rick Springfield first found success with Australian bands before launching his solo career in the early 1970s.

International stardom arrived in 1981 with "Jessie's Girl," which topped the Billboard Hot 100 and earned Springfield the Grammy Award for Best Male Rock Vocal Performance.

He followed that breakthrough with additional Top 10 hits including:

• "Don't Talk to Strangers"
• "Affair of the Heart"
• "Love Somebody"

Beyond music, Springfield built a successful acting career. He became widely known for portraying Dr. Noah Drake on the daytime television drama General Hospital. He later starred in the 1984 film Hard to Hold and appeared in series including High Tide, Californication, True Detective, Supernatural, American Horror Story and The Goldbergs.

His achievements also include publishing the bestselling memoir Late, Late at Night in 2010 and receiving a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2014 for his contributions to music.

Zooey Deschanel is opening up about her fiancé, HGTV personality Jonathan Scott's latest venture.

During a July 2026 episode of the Zach Sang Show, hosted by radio personality Zach Sang, Deschanel, who has been in a relationship with Scott since 2019, noted that the Property Brother star will possibly have a daytime talk show. People magazine reported that the show, titled BETTER! with Jonathan Scott, could have a fall 2027 premiere date, provided that it gets the green light.

During the Zach Sang Show interview, Deschanel said that she has known for quite some time about Scott's possible talk show.

"Well, it's so funny 'cause I've known he was doing this for like a really long time, but I have to remember that like every milestone you have to be like, 'Yay!'" quipped the New Girl star.

After Sang said the possible talk show is "a big deal," Deschanel agreed that "it's a huge deal." She also said she's always believed that Scott would excel as a talk show host because of his personable nature.

"I think since I've known him, I've been like, 'You'd make a great talk show host.' Like he's just very easy to talk to and fun. And, you know, I just was like, 'Oh my god, he would just be so good at that,'" said Deschanel.

Jonathan Scott Revealed the News on Instagram

In June 2026, Scott took to Instagram to let his fans know that he was taking steps to host a talk show. The caption referenced that he has been a long-time HGTV personality, hosting several renovation shows, including Celebrity IOU and Property Brothers: Under Pressure alongside his twin brother, Drew Scott.

"For years, you’ve invited me into your homes through renovation projects, design challenges, and some pretty wild adventures. Along the way, one of my favorite parts has always been connecting with people and sharing ideas that can make life at home a little better," read a portion of the caption of the June 10 upload. "That’s why I’m so excited to finally share something I’ve been working on for a long time. We’re developing BETTER! with Jonathan Scott — a new daytime talk show built around great conversations, practical home tips, inspiring stories, and amazing guests and lifestyle experts who can help all of us live a little better (while having some fun along the way)."

In a June 29 Instagram post, Scott confirmed he filmed "the pilot for [his] talk show."

Bruce Springsteen is climbing the Billboard charts again more than four decades after the release of his landmark album Born in the U.S.A., proving the lasting appeal of one of rock music's biggest records.

The 1984 album has re-entered the Billboard 200 at No. 69, marking another milestone for Springsteen's classic release. The album originally peaked at No. 1 on the chart and has now spent 145 weeks on the Billboard 200 across its chart history.

The renewed momentum comes during the week following the Fourth of July holiday, when listeners across the United States streamed and purchased patriotic songs in large numbers. The increased interest also fueled a major comeback for the album's title track, "Born in the U.S.A.," across several Billboard rankings.

Released on June 4, 1984, Born in the U.S.A. became Bruce Springsteen's seventh studio album and the biggest commercial success of his career.

The record debuted inside the Billboard 200 before reaching No. 1 just two weeks later. It remained in the Top 10 for 84 consecutive weeks and spent nearly three years on the chart during its original run.

The album produced seven Top 10 singles in the United States, including:

• "Dancing in the Dark"
• "Born in the U.S.A."
• "I'm on Fire"
• "Glory Days"
• "My Hometown"
• "Cover Me"
• "I'm Goin' Down"

Over the years, Born in the U.S.A. has sold more than 30 million copies worldwide, making it Springsteen's best-selling album and one of the best-selling albums in music history.

The album's return follows a strong resurgence for its title track.

According to the latest Billboard rankings, "Born in the U.S.A." debuted at No. 30 on the Streaming Songs chart. The appearance marks Springsteen's first-ever entry on Billboard's all-genre streaming ranking.

On the Digital Song Sales chart, "Born in the U.S.A." climbed to No. 8 after selling 2,650 downloads, according to Luminate. The ranking represents the song's highest position on that chart.

The renewed streaming and download activity also helped "Born in the U.S.A." re-enter the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 36. During its original release in the 1980s, the song reached No. 9 on the Hot 100.

The Fourth of July holiday has increasingly become a major streaming period for patriotic songs, with listeners returning to classics each year. This year's surge benefited several well-known tracks, but "Born in the U.S.A." posted one of the strongest gains.

Recorded with the E Street Band between 1982 and 1984, Born in the U.S.A. blended rock music with a more pop-oriented sound while continuing Springsteen's storytelling about working-class life, patriotism, personal struggles and relationships.

The album transformed Springsteen into a global superstar and topped charts in multiple countries, including the U.S. and the U.K.

Its influence has continued long after its original release. The album was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in 2012, has appeared on numerous lists of the greatest albums of all time, and received a 40th anniversary reissue in 2024.

Springsteen, known as "The Boss," has released 21 studio albums during a career spanning six decades and has sold more than 140 million records worldwide.

More than 42 years after Born in the U.S.A. first reached No. 1, the album is once again finding an audience, showing that one of rock's defining releases continues to resonate with listeners across generations.
