Ekouaer Crewneck Shirt and Short Lounge Set, From $16 (was $33) at Amazon Shop at AmazonDesigned with both structure and softness in mind, this lounge set is made from a 50% polyester, 43% viscose, and 7% spandex blend that feels smooth to the touch while staying breathable and flexible with four-way stretch. The top features a classic crew neckline with a reinforced collar that helps it hold its shape, while the cap sleeves are cuffed for a more trendy finish. It has a straight, slightly boxy fit that drapes without clinging, making it easy to move in and comfortable to wear throughout the day.
The matching shorts are designed with an elastic waistband that provides a comfortable, secure fit, along with an adjustable drawstring so you can fine-tune the fit as needed. The drawstring lies flat for a clean look, and the waistband gathers evenly without adding bulk. Deep side pockets are built in as well, giving you functional storage without interrupting the overall streamlined feel.
What really makes this set stand out is how easily it adapts to different plans. You can dress it up with simple sandals and sleek jewelry for a casual brunch, or keep it laid-back with sneakers and a denim jacket for errands or travel days. And since the pieces work just as well on their own, you can mix them into the rest of your wardrobe, too. Pair the crewneck top with denim shorts or jeans, or style the shorts with a basic tank, oversized button-down, or even a lightweight sweater.
It also comes in 10 different color options, giving you plenty of variety depending on your style. How To Book The First Cruises To Sandy Cay, MSC’s Newest Luxury Escape
For travelers who've already mastered the art of the Caribbean getaway, MSC Cruises just dropped a major reason to look ahead to 2028. The line officially opened bookings for its Summer 2028 season today, revealing a massive six-ship deployment centered around a game-changing "double" private island experience in The Bahamas.
The headliner for the season is the debut of Sandy Cay, a brand-new luxury private island retreat located just off the coast of the existing Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve. While Ocean Cay has become a fan favorite for its marine conservation focus and pristine beaches, Sandy Cay is designed to be its more intimate, elevated sibling. Guests sailing in the summer of 2028 will be among the very first to step onto its aragonite sands—which the line describes as some of the "purest and brightest in the world."

View this post on Instagram A New Dimension of Island LifeMore than just a beach expansion, Sandy Cay is a strategic move to offer two distinct flavors of Bahamian paradise in one trip. "We’re always looking for opportunities to give our guests new ways to experience MSC Cruises’ mix of European style and American comfort," says Lynn Torrent, President of MSC Cruises North America. "Guests can look forward to the new experiences we’re building in key destinations like Ocean Cay and Sandy Cay... aimed at ensuring they have the best beach days possible."
While Sandy Cay focuses on serenity and seclusion, the original Ocean Cay is undergoing its own transformation. By the time the 2028 season kicks off, visitors will find new dining venues, an expanded family lagoon and a dedicated adults-only beach area. These upgrades are part of a broader plan to allow two ships to dock simultaneously, doubling the capacity for those coveted overnight stays under the Bahamian stars.

The "World" Class FleetTo support these new destinations, MSC is deploying its heavy hitters. For the first time, two "World Class" ships will dominate the region. MSC World America will continue its 7-night rotations from Miami, while its sister ship, MSC World Atlantic, will celebrate its first summer season sailing from Port Canaveral.
Whether you’re looking for a quick three-night "no-stress" getaway from Miami on MSC Seaside or a seven-night Western Caribbean trek from Galveston on MSC Seascape, the 2028 season is built around accessibility. From the luxury of the MSC Yacht Club to the excitement of the newest ships, the line is clearly aiming to be the "everything app" of the cruise world—where every coordinate, including the new Sandy Cay, is designed for discovery.

1966 One-Hit Wonder Became a Garage Rock Classic— ‘Destined’ To Be a Hit
In 1966, the rock band Question Mark & the Mysterians had their first and only chart-topping hit with “96 Tears.” The song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 on Oct. 29, 1966, and remained on the music chart for 15 weeks.
Rolling Stone ranked the “96 Tears” one of the Top 10 One-Hit Wonders of all Time, noting that it was one of the most “memorable” songs of the ‘60s garage rock era. “Originally titled ‘69 Tears,’ the Michigan-based band recorded the song in their manager’s living room in 1966, and it hit Number One in October of that year,” the outlet noted.
Destined to be a hitKnown for its distinctive keyboard riff and “too many teardrops" chorus, “96 Tears” is credited to singer-songwriter Question Mark (Rudy Martinez), who recorded it with bandmates Frank Rodriguez (keyboards), Bobby Balderrama (guitar), Frank Lugo (bass), and Eddie Serrato (drums). In an interview with Vice, Balderrama recalled a group brainstorming session.
“One day, Frank started playing a little organ riff, and we really liked it a lot,” he said. “I kinda came up with the chord riff, and every time we practiced, we recorded everything. At first it didn’t have words. Then Question Mark said he had words for it, but I thought he was just singing off the top of his head. I thought he was just improvising.”
The band recorded the song originally for the Texas-based label Pa-Go-Go Records and began to hand-distribute it to radio stations. Before long, listeners began requesting the song, and it blew up.

According to Goldmine, amid the success of “96 Tears," the band was signed by Cameo-Parkway Records president Neil Bogart.
Rodgriguez was surprised by the song’s No. 1 status. “I didn’t think the song ’96 Tears’ was gonna go anywhere, but it did real good,” he shared, before explaining his organ work. “A lot of people think my keyboard parts were done on a Farfisa or Vox Continental. But, actually, I recorded the song on a Hammond A1 organ, without the rotating Leslie speaker engaged.”

In an interview with Best Classic Bands, songwriter Question Mark said he always believed in the song, even when a TV rock band got in the way.
“I believe it was September 3 when it went nationwide. It debuted at 75. October 29, 1966, it went to number one,” he recalled of his lone No. 1 hit. “The Monkees had come out with their new series and ‘Last Train To Clarksville.’ We were in Dallas promoting ‘96 Tears’ at a TV station. They said, ‘Oh, we really like your song better, but we're gonna have to go with The Monkees this week and then yours next week, because they have a new TV series.’ I said, ‘if you really feel ours is a better song, then why don't you do it?’ ….It's too bad we didn't have a TV series. People don't realize those two songs came out at the same time, and we beat 'em to number one first!”
“Nobody really believed in the record except me,” the singer added. “Not even my group did. I knew it was destined to be a million seller.”
'90s Country Music Icon Released First No. 1 Hit Song 27 Years After Beginning Career
Billy Ray Cyrus spent decades as one of country music’s most recognizable voices before finally earning his first No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2019.
The country singer, who launched his career with his debut album Some Gave All in 1992, reached the top spot thanks to his feature on Lil Nas X’s smash remix of “Old Town Road.”
The song became one of the biggest music hits of the decade and gave Cyrus a milestone that had taken 27 years to achieve.
“Old Town Road,” originally released independently by Lil Nas X in December 2018, exploded in popularity after going viral on TikTok. The remix featuring Cyrus arrived on April 5, 2019, and quickly climbed the charts.

By April 13, 2019, the song hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, where it stayed for a record-breaking 19 consecutive weeks.
For Cyrus, the achievement marked a major comeback moment after years of chart success in country music but never reaching the top of the all-genre Hot 100 chart.
His signature 1992 hit “Achy Breaky Heart” had previously peaked at No. 4 on the Billboard Hot 100. While the song became a cultural phenomenon and helped launch a worldwide line-dancing craze, it stopped short of the chart’s top position.
Cyrus first entered the music scene in 1992 with the release of Some Gave All. The album became a huge commercial success, debuting at No. 1 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums charts.
The project produced several hit singles, including “Achy Breaky Heart,” “Could’ve Been Me,” and “She’s Not Cryin’ Anymore.” The album eventually sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and became one of the best-selling country debut albums ever released.
Even with his early fame, Cyrus never reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 during the peak of his ’90s popularity.
Over the years, he continued releasing albums, acting in television and movies, and later introduced himself to a younger generation through Disney Channel’s Hannah Montana, where he starred alongside his daughter Miley Cyrus.
Still, his career received an unexpected resurgence when Lil Nas X invited him to join the “Old Town Road” remix in 2019.
Cyrus said he immediately connected with the song when he first heard it. He later explained that the lyrics reminded him of the Old Town Bridge in Kentucky, where he spent time as a child.
The collaboration also arrived during controversy surrounding the song’s removal from Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart. Billboard stated the track did not contain enough elements of today’s country music, sparking widespread debate about genre boundaries and representation in country music.
Cyrus publicly supported Lil Nas X after the decision.
The remix of “Old Town Road” shattered records around the world. The song topped charts in multiple countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Germany and the United Kingdom.
It also became the fastest song ever to receive Diamond certification from the Recording Industry Association of America after selling 10 million units in the U.S. The single has since surpassed 17-times Platinum certification in America and sold more than 18 million copies worldwide.
The song blended country, rap, and trap influences, creating a sound that stood out from mainstream radio at the time. Produced by YoungKio, the track sampled Nine Inch Nails’ “34 Ghosts IV” and featured banjo sounds mixed with trap-style drums and bass.
Lil Nas X reportedly bought the beat online for just $30 before recording the song in one day.
The success of “Old Town Road” also earned Cyrus his first Grammy Awards. At the 62nd Grammy Awards, the remix won Best Pop Duo/Group Performance and Best Music Video.
The track’s historic 19-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100 broke the previous record held by Mariah Carey and Boyz II Men’s “One Sweet Day” and Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito” remix featuring Justin Bieber.
For Cyrus, the chart-topping moment proved that his music career still had room for new milestones nearly three decades after it began.

1974 Performance Named ‘Greatest Solo Ever’ Still Stuns Musicians Today
A live performance recorded more than 50 years ago is still leaving even seasoned musicians trying to figure out what they just heard.
Captured in 1974 at London’s Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, a now-legendary piano solo by Oscar Peterson has taken on a new life decades later after musician and educator Rick Beato called it “the greatest solo of all time.”
Related: 1982 Hit Named ‘Most Complex Pop Song of All Time’ Released 44 Years Ago Today
The clip features Peterson performing a blues-based improvisation with his trio, but what unfolds over the next several minutes goes far beyond a standard solo.
Beato sets the stage early in his breakdown, acknowledging the weight of the claim while standing by it: “You guys know that I'm into hyperbole, but when you see this, you're going to say, you know what, that may be the greatest solo of all time.”
Related: 1964 Song Ranked in ‘Greatest Songs of All Time’ Became a Powerful Anthem
What makes the performance so striking isn’t just speed or technical precision—it’s how much is happening at once. Peterson moves seamlessly through multiple styles, shifting between bebop, boogie-woogie and stride piano, often sounding like more than one player at the keyboard.
At several points, Beato notes how difficult it is to even comprehend what Peterson is doing in real time, particularly when he’s improvising complex right-hand lines while simultaneously building a full accompaniment with his left.
“To improvise over that is extremely difficult because he's making up both parts,” Beato explains.
Related: 1968 Hit Ranked Among ‘Best Road-Trip Songs’ of All Time
That balancing act—playing lead and rhythm simultaneously—is part of what gives the performance its almost surreal quality. As the intensity builds, Peterson layers in walking bass lines, rapid-fire runs and sudden shifts in feel, all without losing control of the structure.
“It sounds like two people playing,” Beato says at one point.
Even the musicians on stage with him seem caught off guard. Throughout the performance, guitarist Barney Kessel can be seen reacting in real time, exchanging looks with bassist Niels-Henning Orsted Pedersen as Peterson pushes the solo further.
“That's how you know that you're playing with a great player when you're looking at each other and go, man,” Beato says, pointing out their reactions.
Related: 1977 Hit Named ‘Greatest Two-Chord Song of All Time’ Was a No. 1 Smash
Despite the complexity, the foundation remains simple—a traditional blues structure that Peterson continuously reshapes, bending it into something far more expansive.
The result is a performance that feels both controlled and completely unpredictable, which helps explain why it continues to resonate decades later.
Beato ultimately places it among the most remarkable displays of musicianship he’s ever seen.
“This is one of the best performances I've ever seen on piano,” he says.
A DVD of the entire live set was released in 2010 and now it even has its own Spotify playlist. Among many achievements and accolades, Peterson won eight Grammys over the course of his career and earned a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Recording Academy. He died in 2007 at the age of 82.

Quote of the Day: Garth Brooks Perfectly Explains Why Life's Struggles Ultimately Become Our Greatest Gifts
Growing up in Yukon, Oklahoma, Garth Brooks was one of six kids in a blended family. Mother Colleen was a professional country singer who recorded singles with Capitol Records and appeared on the Ozark Jubilee, but would sacrifice her successful career in order to focus on her family. But she always inspired a young Garth to chase his passion. "She gave me permission to have unlimited dreams," he wrote in his memoir, American Thunder. "Mom said, 'Hey, a mistake is okay if you tried your best.'"
His father, Troyal, worked as a draftsman for an oil company and taught Garth not only the power of hard work, but also his very first guitar chords. His mom and dad constantly played traditional country music in the house, while his siblings introduced him to the tunes of singer-songwriters like James Taylor. Meanwhile, his friends at school shared records from rock bands likeQueenand Kiss.
That combination of genres would ultimately inspire his trailblazing sound—but getting that sound to the masses was hardly an overnight success. Long before the sold-out stadium tours, Brooks had to navigate the grueling gap between his mother's unlimited dreams and the seemingly endless rejection he faced in the music industry. From his humble beginnings playing college bars to becoming the best-selling solo artist in U.S. music history, Brooks learned that the journey to making your dreams a reality is never a straight shot—and it's exactly where life's most valuable lessons are found.
Quote of the Day by Garth BrooksParade/CanvaPro
"Too much credit is given to the end result. The true lesson is in the struggle that takes place between the dream and reality. That struggle is a thing called life."
In a world that celebrates the highlight reel—the Grammy wins, the platinum albums, the sold-out stadiums—Brooks is asking us to pay attention to the middle chapters. Because when we begin to accomplish our goals, we realize that the setbacks we faced along the way are a huge reason why we made it to the finish line. You learn so much during the challenging times and truly build your character. It's so important to remember his words any time you feel like giving up.
Related: Quote of the Day: Reba McEntire’s 9 Words on Fear Say It All
Deeper Meaning of Garth Brooks' Quote—Trust the ProcessIt's hard to believe that someone who's sold over 170 million albums could have faced constant rejection. But for Brooks, it was a harsh reality. After graduating college in 1984, he played at local Oklahoma bars and one night, an entertainment attorney happened to be in the audience. Impressed, he not only offered to help produce a demo, but also share his industry contacts in Nashville. At just 23, Brooks thought it was his big break and planned a road trip.
Related: 1990 Beloved Garth Brooks Classic, Written on a Napkin, Is Ranked His Greatest Song Ever
But after arriving in Music City, he immediately realized that it was flooded with thousands of incredibly talented singers and songwriters, all looking for their shot. And those executives? They weren't waiting for him—they were busy, inaccessible and unimpressed. Less than 24 hours later, Brooks got in his car and headed back to Oklahoma. “Things happen for a reason," he's said. "How you translate them at the time makes them good or bad."
"The Dance" singer spent the next two years playing local gigs, honing his craft and maturing. In 1987, he returned to Nashville—but this time around, Brooks was no longer a naive youngster; he was a true hustler. He worked odd jobs, sang on other writers' demo tapes and spent months making genuine connections in the industry. And it was about to pay off: In April 1988, he performed for Capitol Records executives in a formal audition. Unfortunately, they passed on him completely, but Brooks kept going.
A few weeks later, he was scheduled to play 9th at a Bluebird Café showcase—a time slot when most insiders would have already left the building. A true professional, he arrived super early. And when the night's second performer didn't show up, he went on in their place. Lynn Shults—the same Capitol executive who had rejected him just weeks earlier—happened to be in the audience. After hearing Brooks perform "If Tomorrow Never Comes," she waited offstage and told him: "Maybe we missed something here. Come to the label tomorrow. Let's talk." On June 17, 1988, he signed a recording contract with Capitol Records.

Had Brooks succeeded during that first Nashville trip, he never would have developed the grit, artistry and storytelling depth that made him a household name. You see, ultimately, it wasn't the record contract that made him a superstar, but the resilience he built during the years it took to earn it. That gap between the dream and the reality wasn't just a detour—it was the exact struggle that made his legendary career possible.
Because he didn't just survive the space between his dream and his reality—he let it shape him into one of the greatest artists in country music. It proves that the struggle isn't something to rush through; it's the very foundation of the life you're trying to build.

Costway 5-Tier Geometric Bookshelf, $65 (was $270) at Target Shop at TargetThe design is what really sets it apart. Instead of a traditional grid layout, it features an asymmetrical, S-shaped structure that feels modern and sculptural. It almost looks like a piece of art, which makes it a great focal point in any room. It comes in three colors — black, brown, and white — to match your space.
You can purchase it in a pack of one or two if you’re looking for a more symmetrical setup. Placing two side by side can also create a simple DIY room divider, which is especially useful in open layouts or studio apartments.
In terms of size, it measures 27.5 inches long, 9.5 inches wide, and 62.5 inches tall. Each shelf offers about 20 inches of length and 12 inches of height, giving you enough room for books, decor, and more. It has a 45-pound weight capacity, which is solid for everyday storage needs.
It’s also built with durability in mind. It has a metal frame, and the shelves are made from sturdy particle board with thick edge sealing to help extend the lifespan. A stable base and non-slip foot pads add extra support while also protecting your floors from scratches.
For added safety, it comes with two anti-toppling kits that let you secure the bookshelf to the wall. This helps prevent wobbling or tipping, which is especially important if you have kids or pets around. Assembly is straightforward as well, with clearly labeled parts and instructions that make the process easier.
The five-tier layout gives you plenty of space to get creative. You can use it to display books, framed photos, plants, or collectibles. The vertical design also helps maximize space, making it a smart choice for smaller rooms or apartments where every inch counts.

1953 Hit Fil, Directed by Sacred Treasure of Cinema, Ranked Among ‘Best Movies of All Time’
More than 70 years after its release, Tokyo Story is once again being celebrated as one of cinema’s finest achievements after landing at No. 69 on Rotten Tomatoes’ “300 Best Movies of All Time” list.
The acclaimed Japanese drama from legendary filmmaker Yasujirō Ozu earned a rare 100% Tomatometer score from critics and a 93% audience score from more than 10,000 ratings, proving that its emotional story still connects with viewers across generations.
Widely regarded as Ozu’s masterpiece, the 1953 film follows elderly couple Shukichi and Tomi Hirayama as they travel from their quiet seaside town to Tokyo to visit their grown children.
Instead of the warm reunion they hoped for, the couple slowly realizes their busy children have little time for them. Only Noriko, the widow of their late son, shows genuine kindness and care.
The quiet but heartbreaking story has long been praised for its honest look at family, aging, regret and the passing of time. Critics and filmmakers continue to call it one of the greatest films ever made, with many pointing to its emotional simplicity and deeply human storytelling.
Roger Ebert once wrote, “Yasujiro Ozu’s ‘Tokyo Story’ tells a tale as simple and universal as life itself.” He added that the film’s message “is not new or original — what could be? — but it is true.”
Though the movie first premiered in Japan in 1953, it was not immediately embraced overseas. Japanese film exporters reportedly believed the film was “too Japanese” for international audiences. That changed years later after screenings in London and New York introduced the movie to Western critics.
The film later won the first-ever Sutherland Trophy in London and eventually became one of the most respected titles in world cinema history.
Today, many critics see its themes as timeless. The story focuses on parents and children drifting apart as life becomes busier and more modern. The emotional distance between generations is shown through quiet conversations, small gestures, and moments left unsaid.
The Guardian described the film’s emotional impact as “exquisite sadness,” praising actress Setsuko Hara for her performance as Noriko. The review noted that “when Hara’s smile finally drops, it is like a gunshot.”
The movie also reflects the changes happening in post-war Japan during the 1950s. Traditional family values were beginning to shift as cities grew larger and life became faster. Ozu explored these changes through ordinary people rather than dramatic conflicts.
Film critics have often praised Ozu’s directing style for its calm and patient approach. His camera rarely moves, allowing viewers to quietly observe family life as it unfolds. Many scenes avoid melodrama, making the emotional moments feel even more powerful.
Ebert noted that the film “lacks sentimental triggers and contrived emotion,” explaining that Ozu did not try to force audiences to cry but instead “share its understanding.”
Ozu’s influence on modern filmmaking remains enormous decades after his death. According to Cinemas Sojourns, German director Wim Wenders famously called Ozu “a sacred treasure of cinema.”
Wenders said watching Tokyo Story changed his life. “I’d never seen anything that had so much shaken my world,” he recalled in an interview. “This was, from now, going to be my master.”
The filmmaker later created the documentary Tokyo-Ga as a tribute to Ozu and his vision of Japan. In the documentary, Wenders explored how Ozu’s films captured everyday life with honesty and emotional depth.
Over the decades, Tokyo Story has appeared on countless “greatest films” lists. It topped Sight and Sound’s 2012 directors’ poll for the greatest film ever made and has consistently ranked highly among critics worldwide.
Famous filmmaker Martin Scorsese also included the movie on his list of essential foreign films for young directors to study.
The movie’s cast remains celebrated as well. Chishū Ryū and Chieko Higashiyama earned praise for their moving performances as the aging parents, while Setsuko Hara’s portrayal of Noriko continues to be remembered as one of cinema’s most touching performances.
Despite its quiet tone and simple story, the film’s emotional truth continues to resonate with audiences more than seven decades later.

Amazon’s 'Whimsical' $18 2-Pack of Solar Lanterns 'Make the Evenings Come Alive' With Cottagecore Charm
Parade aims to feature only the best products and services. If you buy something via one of our links, we may earn a commission.
Sometimes you don’t need to go all out to transform your backyard into a magical oasis. Case in point: solar lanterns. Small but mighty, they have the power to instantly elevate the ambiance at night with their warm glow. Certain versions can even cast gorgeous shadows that’ll give your home’s outdoor space a storybook feel, like this Brizled 2-Pack of Hummingbird Solar Lanterns at Amazon.
If you love all things cottagecore, this lantern set is definitely worth checking out, especially because it’s currently on sale for less than $20 for a limited time. Normally retailing for $23, it’s now marked down to just $18, which means that you’ll be getting each lantern for just $9! This lantern set is also available in four other styles, including another hummingbird design, two butterfly versions, and a circular floral style. Those normally retail between $23 and $27, but are now on sale between $20 and $24.
These lanterns ooze with ethereal vibes, featuring a nature-inspired design comprising cutouts of dainty flowers and delicate hummingbirds. The intricate decorative cutouts allow the light from inside the lantern to pass through and cast detailed shadows that capture a buzzy and lively scene. Filling your outdoor space with charming shadows, these lanterns will turn your backyard into an enchanting getaway.
You can either hang these lanterns up or set them on a surface — both ways have their own perks. If you place these lanterns on the ground or on a tabletop, they’ll create sharper shadows. However, if you hang them up, the shadows and light will fill a larger space. These lanterns are also adorned with cutouts on the underside of the base, so they’ll cast shadows directly underneath as well. By elevating them off the ground, you’ll be able to see the designs in their full capacity. Shoppers mentioned that the shadows are still sharp even when the lanterns are suspended.
Using the top handle, you can dangle them from your porch’s awning or overhang if it’s fixed with a hook, or grab a shepherd’s hook and place them in your garden or by a walkway. If you’re looking for some inspiration or want to see what they look like in real life, check out these stunning images that reviewers shared!
Brizled 2-Pack of Hummingbird Solar Lanterns, From $18 (was $23) at Amazon Shop at AmazonOne shopper called these lanterns a “garden delight” and described them as “absolutely beautiful.” They also said that they “make the evenings come alive.” Another reviewer said that the shadows are “so charming,” while a third person added that they “add a whimsical touch” to their walkway.
Not only do these lanterns require little to no maintenance, but they’re also sustainable and environmentally friendly, as they rely on solar power. Equipped with a solar panel on top, these lanterns just need six hours of sunlight to charge up, and they’ll automatically turn on once it gets dark outside. They can stay on for up to eight hours, but multiple reviewers said that the lights are still lit up in the morning!
Made of metal, these lanterns have a weather finish, giving them a vintage-inspired look. They have an IP44 waterproof rating, designed to withstand all kinds of weather conditions, which makes them ideal for year-round use. Shoppers noted that these lanterns have held up well through rain, snow, and wind.

Freddie Mercury Named 'Greatest Vocalist of All Time' 35 Years After His Death
Ranking the top 100 vocalists of all time is no easy feat. From Patti Smith to Adele to Whitney Houston, the musical talent across the decades is immeasurable.
Lucky for music lovers, Consequence did the hard work of 100 greatest vocalists.
"There are singers, and there are vocalists. The best vocalists don’t rest on natural gifts, but instead use their creativity and vision to push their instruments where no one else could go," the outlet explained.
To compile their rankings, Consequence polled over 50 musicians, including Randy Blythe, Mike Patton, and Linda Perry.
So who landed in the No. 1 spot...Queen's Freddie Mercury, of course.
Beating out Robert Plant, Marvin Gaye, Whitney Houston and Aretha Franklin — who all also landed in the top 5, the "Bohemian Rhapsody" artist is still reaching new heights nearly 35 years after his death.
"I love Queen, I love Freddie Mercury's voice. I love how expressive he is. Freddy holds a particularly special place in my heart," Blue Medusa's Alissa White-Gluz said. "My mother was very pregnant with me when that 1985 live aid concert happened and she watched it. And I think I was listening as well at that point. And maybe that inspired me from within the womb."
Mercury — born Farrokh Bulsara in 1946 — was known for his flamboyant stage persona and fashion. The rocker was diagnosed with AIDS in 1987, though he did not publicly announce his diagnosis until 1991. He was just 45 years old when he died on November 24, 1991.
Though he never earned a Grammy Award throughout his decades-long career, Mercury and the band were honored posthumously with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

Kacey Musgraves Stuns Fans With Intimate Performance Ahead of New Album
Even before the release of Kacey Musgraves’ latest album, Middle of Nowhere, country music’s reigning princess gave fans a taste of what’s to come with a live performance that proved the "Follow Your Arrow" singer is one of the genre’s most compelling performers in both small venues and large arenas.
Kacey Musgraves Gives Fans an Intimate Preview @hayleytrejoAnd it’s SO good! Our country princess frrr 😘🔥🤠 #nashville #kaceymusgraves #middleofnowhere #nashvillelife #nashvilleinfluencer
♬ original sound - Hayley / Nashville LifestyleTwo nights before the release of her highly anticipated seventh album, Musgraves invited some of her most devoted fans to a local Nashville honky-tonk. Amid pool tables, photo booths, and servers passing around Musgraves-approved Frito pies, the singer took the stage.
Wearing tasseled jeans, a rhinestoned belt, and her signature black cowboy hat, Musgraves opened her set with "Uncertain, TX," minus collaborator Willie Nelson, before treating fans to a preview of new songs. The set included the sultry "Mexico Honey" and the playful "Rhinestoned," before she closed with the album’s final track, "Hell on Me."

“You’re living the dream,” one fan shared. Another wrote, “I’m so annoyed and jelly.”

Why Kacey Musgraves Is More Relevant Than EverJust days earlier, Musgraves announced her "Middle of Nowhere" tour, scheduled to begin on her 38th birthday on August 21, 2026. Known for immersive live shows, a Kacey Musgraves concert often feels more like a cultural moment than a traditional performance.
After stepping away from touring for two years, she returns at a time when country music is more mainstream than ever. Country songs are topping pop charts, and artists like Kelsea Ballerini and Maren Morris continue to blend country storytelling with pop production.
Musgraves stands at the center of that shift. Her ability to appeal to both pop and country audiences while staying true to her roots has made her one of the most influential voices in modern country music. With a dreamlike production style that leans into pop while maintaining classic country themes, she represents where the genre is heading.
The Bigger Picture Behind the BuzzIn the streaming era, where platforms no longer strictly separate genres, artists like Musgraves are finding broader audiences than ever before. Her music connects across categories, reaching listeners who value both authenticity and accessibility.
Musgraves’ ability to balance those elements has solidified her place as country music royalty. While not every fan will experience a small, intimate show like this Nashville performance, her ability to create that same sense of closeness—even in massive arenas—means audiences can still feel deeply connected to the music and the moment.
