1986 Soft Rock Track Ranked Among 'Best Movie Songs of All Time' Was Rejected by Another Hit Film
Peter Cetera was already well-known as the frontman, vocalist, and bassist for the American rock band Chicago. In 1986, he embarked on a solo career and released a popular track that was originally intended for a hit Sylvester Stallone film, but instead became the anthem for another cult classic.
Following his departure from the rock band in 1985, Cetera released his first solo single, "Livin' in the Limelight," shortly after. The track wasn't a mainstream success, with Cetera only gaining traction as a solo artist when he released his second single, "Glory of Love." It was released in early June and written alongside his then-wife Diane Nini and David Foster.
The power ballad ended up becoming Cetera's first major success since leaving Chicago and topped the Billboard Hot 100 charts at No. 1 for two weeks and the Adult Contemporary charts. Billboard ranked "Glory of Love" at No. 61 on their list of the Top Movie Songs of All Time for having appeared in the second installment of a popular movie franchise.
"Glory of Love" appears in the martial arts film Karate Kid Part II, starring Ralph Macchioand Pat Morita. Thanks to the movie's popularity as one of the highest-grossing films of 1986, Cetera's track also gained recognition as its main theme. It was nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song and a Golden Globe in the same category. It lost the Oscar to Lionel Richie's "Say You, Say Me." Cetera was also nominated for a Grammy for Best Vocal Performance by a Male Artist.
The success of the hit power ballad may have been thanks to a rejection. According to reports, Cetera originally wrote "Glory of Love" as the ending title track for Rocky IV that same year. It was rejected and passed on by United Artists, leading it to appear in the martial arts film.

Interestingly enough, Cetera couldn't escape his past with Chicago due to a mix-up. Karate Kid Part II was released at the same time as Cetera's solo album, Solitude/Solitaire, and fans were improperly under the impression "Glory of Love" was a new Chicago track.
"People thought ‘Glory of Love’ was the new Chicago song,” Cetera said in an interview with the LA Times. “A lot of them went looking for the Chicago album. They didn’t know about me as a solo artist. . . . They said, ‘Peter who?’"
He explains that despite the track being a No. 1 hit, he couldn't take full advantage of it because his solo career was overshadowed by the band. The singer says the mix-up caused him thousands in album sales when fans instead bought the movie soundtrack instead of his solo album.
4 Birth Dates Who Have Always Been Ride or Die
Love is beautiful, but loyalty is the foundation that makes it last. Whether it's a devoted best friend, a committed partner, or a supportive family member, those who stand by you no matter what offer a level of emotional safety that is irreplaceable. According to expert astrologers, four birth months are particularly associated with individuals who naturally embody that "ride or die" quality. These are the people who will be there for you through thick and thin, always ready to support you when it truly matters, not just during the good times.
Which Birth Dates Are Most Likely Ride or Die?Check for your birth date. Disregard birth months.
Born on the 8th — The Steadfast ProtectorSaturn, the planet of cosmic maturity, guides the path of those born on the 8th. Individuals with this birth date possess strong personalities. While they may often appear quiet in their influence, this does not necessarily stem from shyness. Rather, they know how to conserve their energy, adhering to the motto of "quality over quantity." They give their undivided attention only to those and to what matters most in their lives, including their commitments. If someone born on this date loves you, there's nothing they won't do for you. Born on the 15th — The Devoted GuardianRuled by relationship-oriented planet Venus, those born on the 15th value their people above all else. While they can certainly have an ambitious side, nothing comes before their relationships with those they care about most. Usually diplomatic and charming, they make friends easily. However, don't mistake their kindness for weakness. While they often remain indifferent to malice directed at themselves, anyone who harms their loved ones will activate their protective nature. They have a talent for emotionally soothing their loved ones while ensuring that external circumstances don't harm them again.
Born on the 18th — The Warrior DefenderWhether you celebrate your birthday on the 18th or know someone who does, you may be aware of the strong protective nature associated with this birth date. People born on the 18th of any month possess a warrior-like resilience. Ruled by Mars, the planet of assertive action and combative justice, they don’t shy away from confrontation. While they may not actively seek out fights, they certainly know how to finish them—especially when it comes to protecting someone they care deeply about. These are the friends who often become more upset than you do when someone wrongs you. Before you know it, they instinctively leap into action to defend your honor.

1966 No. 1 Hit and Feminist Anthem Was Originally Written for a Man
Nancy Sinatra’s signature hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” not only became her first chart-topper in 1966, it also became a feminist anthem of sorts. Perhaps surprisingly, the song’s writer, country-pop star Lee Hazlewood originally envisioned a man singing the song.
That all changed during a fateful meeting attended by Frank Sinatra at the home of Nancy Barbato Sinatra, his first wife and the mother of the future pop star who shared her name. It was only appropriate that Frank was at the meeting, since the song was inspired by a line he uttered in the 1963 western-comedy 4 for Texas. “They tell me them boots ain't built for walkin’,” Frank’s character said in the movie.
Yet, Hazlewood who was already a successful songwriter having produced and co-written a number of instrumental hits with Duane Eddy, including “Rebel Rouser,” turned the phrase around to “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” for his future hit. Still, it took Nancy and her famous father to convince him it should be sung by a woman.
In a recent post on X, Nancy Sinatra detailed the history of the song, first crediting legendary producer Jimmy Bowen for putting her together with “Barton Lee Hazlewood,” his full name.
“The first time I met Lee was when he came to my mother’s house to audition songs. Sitting in the bar, listening to him play, one song in particular grabbed my attention, a song about boots. I knew instantly it was meant for me and told him that, but he disagreed. He said he had written the song for a man to sing. He had been playing it in clubs around Los Angeles, and he was planning to record it himself. I argued my case, but he refused to budge.”
As Nancy Sinatra recounts, it took her and the man who inspired the song to change Hazlewood’s mind.
Jimmy Bowen’s big contribution to my life was putting me together with Barton Lee Hazlewood.
The first time I met Lee was when he came to my mother’s house to audition songs. Sitting in the bar, listening to him play, one song in particular grabbed my attention, a song about… pic.twitter.com/SkOlIapooj
“After Lee left, I went into the living room where my dad was reading the newspaper. Without even looking up, he said, ‘You’re right. It’s the one about the boots.’ That sealed it for me. Looking back, I doubt Dad’s being there was a coincidence. I think he was actually there spying. He was always protective, and I suspect he and Jimmy planned it so he would be there to hear what was going on. Lee eventually gave in. He wrote a third verse, which was the second verse, and I recorded ‘These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.’ Lee originally ended the song with, ‘You put on your boots, and I’ll put on mine, and we’ll go walking, honey, any old time,’ but I ad-libbed the now-iconic line, ‘Are you ready, boots? Start Walkin’!’ It turns out, I was right about the song. ‘Boots’ became my first number one and, arguably, one of the defining anthems of female empowerment. Forgive me if I sound a little immodest.”
Nancy & Lee“These Boots Are Walkin’” wasn’t only a smash hit, it was the beginning of a string of successful collaborations between Hazlewood and Nancy Sinatra that included such classics as “Sugar Town,” “Some Velvet Morning,” "How Does That Grab Ya, Darlin'", "Friday's Child", and "So Long, Babe." Frank even got into the act with “Somethin’ Stupid,” his duet with his pop star daughter, produced by Hazlewood, which became the first and still only single by a father and daughter to top Billboard’s Hot 100. It also garnered a Grammy nomination for Record of the Year, but lost to the Fifth Dimension’s “Up, Up and Away.”
'Boots' Lives OnStill, the song took on new life in 2001, when a cover version by British singer Robbie Williams and actress Nicole Kidman topped the UK Singles Chart.
“These Boots Are Make for Walkin’” also received the cover treatment not once but three notable times, with two of them returning the song to Hazlewood’s originally envision male vocalist.
First, metal kings Megadeth recorded their version of the song for their 1985 debut album, Killing Is My Business... and Business Is Good!. It was retitled simply “These Boots” and featured new lyrics that offended Hazlewood, who nearly 10 years after it was released, demanded the band take the song off the album. The band compromised by including it only as a bonus track with the offending lyrics censored on the 2002 reissue of the album. Megadeth frontman Dave Mustaine took issue with Hazlewood in the reissue’s liner notes, noting that Hazlewood had received royalties for Megadeth’s version of his song for years before he complained about it.
In 1992, Billy Ray Cyrus released his version of the song on his chart-topping debut album, Some Gave All.
Jessica Simpson tried on “Boots” on a version recorded for the soundtrack of the 2005 film The Dukes of Hazzard. Her recording of the song--co-produced by hitmakers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, with her own lyrics added--later turned up on the international version of her fifth album, A Public Affair in 2006.

'Rooster' Sneak Peek: Connie Britton Returns to Stir Up Drama with Steve Carell (Exclusive)
It's been a good week to be Bill Lawrence! The uber-creator seems to be everywhere nowadays, back in the news with the renewal of the Scrubs revival, as well as the premiere date and trailer reveal for the highly anticipated Season 4 of Ted Lasso. But even outside of Sacred Heart and A. F. C. Richmond, he's been keeping his creative embers stoked in the warm flames of a liberal-arts college fireplace with Rooster.
Starring Steve Carell, the Sunday night comedy initially focused on a renowned writer taking up a job at the college his daughter works at, which has built a veritable campus of characters over the past eight episodes. As Greg (Carell) and Katie (Charley Clive) deal with the drama that surrounds their family, they're also maneuvering around a cast of heavy-hitters, including John C. McGinley, Robby Hoffman, and Alan Ruck. The season's halfway point, however, brought out the big guns, as Connie Britton entered the fray playing Beth, Greg's wealthy, driven ex-wife.
And now, the Beth is back.

In an exclusive sneak peek of this week's penultimate episode below, we can see that she has returned to campus once more to visit her family. And, despite the tension that will always exist between Greg and Beth due to the latter's infidelity that led to the crumbling of their marriage, in the clip, it seems like everything is relatively copacetic between the two, as they casually stroll around, bantering it up.
"How is that fast-tracking?" Greg asks as we pick up mid-conversation.
"Because it usually takes longer. Why would you rain on her parade?" Beth responds. She then tells Katie, "Ignore him. I am so proud of you."
"Thanks mom," Katie replies, digging in the knife jokingly. "You've always been so good at saying things like that to me."
"I'm so sorry your father isn't," Beth continues. "He loves you. He just doesn't know how to show it."
Greg, tired of being the butt of the joke, makes a beeline for hockey practice. Though he's more than happy to throw some barbs on the way out, snarking, "You guys have fun being jerks. I love you, and I always will, even though you are mean people!"
Related: ‘Ted Lasso’ Season 4 Release Date Finally Announced — And the First Trailer Says a Lot
Greg is still the topic of conversation between the two women, though, as Katie tells her mother that he's actually been "really good" as of late. In fact, "He took that picture of you down, thank God." And Beth, surprisingly, is somewhat stymied by the news.
"Mom, don't," Katie insists. "Come on. He's finally getting over you!"
"Oh, honey, no, no," Beth responds. "He's not getting over me. Because nobody ever does. Oh, can't a woman just want her ex-husband to sadly worship her for the rest of his life?"
"Jesus, Mom," Katie says. "That's not okay. Not healthy. Bad girl!"
Of course, we've been privy to Greg seeking greener romantic pastures over the course of Rooster Season 1. There was his brief dalliance with Cristle (Annie Mumolo), which came to an end a couple of weeks ago. And, of course, there's his dynamic with Dylan (Danielle Deadwyler), which is the exact definition of "slow burn." It's good to know, no matter all the efforts he makes to work on his well-being, he has a family to keep him nice and humble.
Check out an exclusive sneak peek of this week's episode of Rooster above. New episodes air Sunday nights at 10:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and stream on HBO Max.

And so, at the end of every week, we kick up our feet, grab the remote, and listen for that classic "tudum" sound as we dive into Netflix's voluminous library.
Luckily for you, Parade has flagged two new shows coming to Netflix this week that can become your new binge obsession! Here's what you need to check out this weekend (May 1-3, 2026).
It's a plot straight out of a Lifetime movie. Caroline Muirhead meets Sandy McKellar, and she instantly falls head over heels for the outdoorsman. The two quickly began courting one another, and soon after get engaged. But after Sandy pops the question, Caroline has a million more for him. That's because he reveals to her a life-changing secret: Three years ago, he killed someone.
The moral quandary she faces is at the heart of Should I Marry a Murderer?, a new Netflix documentary show that released April 27. The three-episode series features sit-down interviews with Caroline, her friends and family, and lawyers and investigators who took on Sandy's case. But at the heart of it all is, fittingly, a matter of the heart. Should Caroline turn Sandy is, sending the love of her life behind bars? Or does she keep his secret, and risk any of the guilt — and consequences — that might come from it?
In 1981, the world was introduced to Marcus Creasy, a Special Forces veteran hired to be the bodyguard for the daughter of a wealthy magnate, in Man on Fire. The hit novel quickly caught fire, spawning four sequels from author A. J. Quinnell. And, of course, any good action book has its own screen adaptations. In fact, Man on Fire has two, both movies: One in 1987 starring Scott Glenn and, perhaps more famously, a 2004 version led by Denzel Washington.
It took 45 years, but the series has finally found its first TV adaptation, which dropped on April 30. This time, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II is in the spotlight, suiting up as Creasy as he battles PTSD while attempting to keep a teenage girl safe in the dangerous streets of Rio de Janeiro. Considering all the superhero work the Emmy winner is known for, including Aquaman, Watchmen and the recent MCU series Wonderman, we can imagine he's thrilled to trade in his cape for some body armor!
Maggie Confronts Liam About the Mysterious Scars on His Back on 'Sullivan's Crossing' (Exclusive Sneak Peek)
When your estranged ex-husband, who you find out you’re still married to because the annullment never went through, blows into town, it’s enough to bring old feelings rushing back to the surface.
Tensions between Maggie (Morgan Kohan) and Liam (Marcus Rosner) escalated during last week's episode, Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 Episode 2, as Maggie demanded that he leave town so she could move forward with her life.
When calmer heads prevailed, Maggie attempted to talk to Liam, but when she swung by his cabin, she saw him hanging laundry while shirtless, and was shaken by the deep wounds on his back.
In an exclusive sneak peek clip shared with Parade from Sullivan’s Crossing Season 4 Episode 3, Maggie runs into Liam on the beach (it’s a small town, it’s bound to happen) and confronts him about the scars.
The war journalist immediately attempts to shut the conversation down, which Maggie points out is something he always did whenever things got too difficult and he didn't want to deal with it.
In the clip, Maggie first warns Liam, who was injured when his foot was caught in a rusty trap in the woods, not to go swimming with stitches, but he assures her that he's got it covered, showing her a waterproof bandage.
"I'm surprised you're talking to me," he states, as Maggie admits she was "harsh" the other day, adding, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have snapped at you like that."
"It's okay, I'm the one who should apologize," Liam notes. "I probably could've just called to get those annullment papers. Showing up like I did was a bad idea," he admits.
Maggie then broaches the topic of the scars, stating that she couldn't "help but notice the nasty scar on your back."
Liam assures her that it's not as bad as it looks, as Maggie calls him out for once again "making light of something to avoid a serious conversation," just like he used to in the past.
"Is that what I'm doing?" Liam asks, as Maggie presses, "What happened?"
Liam shuts down the conversation, telling her, "I appreciate your concern, but you don't have to worry about me."
The clip cuts off before we find out how Maggie reacts, but it's in her nature, especially as a medical professional, to be concerned about the people she cares about, even if they've hurt her in the past.
The scene seems to be inching closer to a long-overdue and honest conversation that the former spouses need to have before they can put an end to this chapter of their lives. Maggie needs clarity about why he ghosted her shortly after their spontaneous marriage, as it will bring her closure and finally allow her to give her romance with Cal the attention it deserves.

Julia Sweeney, the ‘Saturday Night Live’ Legend Known for Playing Pat, Is Back on the Red Carpet
Julia Sweeney, who rose to stardom on Saturday Night Live, tends to fly under the radar these days.
Sweeney, 66, joined the iconic SNL cast in 1990 and played a variety of legendary characters during her four-year run. However, her most famous character was Pat from the "It's Pat!" sketches, whose gender was impossible to determine. While the character got its own feature film, it was a box office bomb. However, Sweeney scored a variety of hit roles over the years, appearing on shows like Frasier and Shrill. She also worked extensively behind the scenes on successful shows like Sex and the City and Desperate Housewives.
In the present day, the comedy icon hit the red carpet at the 2026 TCM Classic Film Festival opening night gala screening of Barefoot In The Park at TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.

Pat is Back, But a Little DifferentWhile Pat was a fan favorite on SNL, it was later criticized as being hurtful to the nonbinary community. However, the topic was explored in a recent documentary film, We Are Pat, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival.
"On one hand, I felt really fondly towards Pat...but I do think that Pat also was a little bit of, subconsciously, a cautionary tale about what would happen if you're gender non-conforming or nonbinary or illegible to society, that people are always going to be obsessed with this one thing about you and will hound you and won't leave you alone," We Are Pat director Rowan Haber told Entertainment Weekly.
Sweeney is along for the ride for the documentary, and her understanding of the character has also evolved over the last couple of decades.
"I acknowledge Pat's history and I acknowledge my own journey and my own naivete, but that's the thing the documentary gave me, is to be proud of this work I did so long ago," she told EW.

How Meryl Streep Got Lady Gaga to Drop Everything and Join 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
Meryl Streep had Lady Gaga's number. That turned out to be all she needed.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live!Thursday night to promote The Devil Wears Prada 2, which opens in theaters today, Streep explained how the film's most unexpected casting came together. The script called for a pop star to perform live on the runway in Milan. Streep had someone in mind immediately.
'I thought, why don't I get Gaga, because she's so great and she loves fashion,' Streep told Kimmel. 'And I had her number.'
She made the call. Before Streep could even explain what she was asking, Gaga had already said yes. 'I said, 'Well, I haven't asked you what I'm gonna ask you,' Streep recalled. Gaga's response: 'Yeah, anything. What do you want?'
The result turned out to be much than a cameo. Gaga wrote three original songs for the film and delivered a performance Streep called 'spectacular.' She flew in from a world tour on a single day, rehearsed the runway sequence multiple times, and kept pushing on the costume until she found something that worked. 'She kept throwing out the dresses, saying, 'I don't like this,' Streep said. When Gaga finally landed on the look (a pinstripe ensemble), Streep said you could see it click. 'She just tore us up.'
Streep added a good-natured admission about sharing the screen with her. Gaga was 'a little too good' in the scene they had together.

The press tour for the film has apparently been an education. Streep told Kimmel she had no idea how much anticipation had built around the sequel. She's not on Instagram, TikTok, or much of anything else. 'All I do is read the news,' she said. But the tour, which took her to Mexico City, New York, Tokyo, Seoul, Shanghai, London, and back again, made it clear. 'Everywhere we went, it was just like this anticipation, affection, appetite for this movie,' she said. 'I wasn't aware of it.'
The enthusiasm surprised her partly because she hadn't realized how deeply the 2006 original had embedded itself. 'I knew it was a popular movie 20 years ago,' she said. 'But I had no idea that there was this sort of big, big, big feel for it.'
Streep was in a notably light mood throughout the interview. Earlier in the day she had been on Hollywood Boulevard for the Walk of Fame ceremonies honoring co-stars Stanley Tucci and Emily Blunt, where long-standing Kimmel 'foil' Matt Damon showed up unannounced to give a tribute speech for Tucci and then, according to Streep, wanted to tag along to the Kimmel taping as well.
When Kimmel asked whether anyone ever turns her down, Streep conceded it had happened. But not this time. Gaga, she said, was 'a big get.'
Watch the interview above. The Devil Wears Prada 2 is in theaters now.
2000 Hit Action Film Won 5 Oscars — But Missed in This Major Category
The 2001 Academy Awards went down as quite the ceremony.
The action epic known as Gladiator cleaned up with five wins, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe. Its director, however, would walk away empty-handed — and still remains Oscar-less to this day, sadly enough.
The Best Director category in 2001 was particularly noteworthy, given that fellow auteur Steven Soderbergh was nominated twice that year — for both Erin Brockovich and Traffic. This, of course, increased Soderbergh's odds of winning the race, but fans still thought Gladiator director Ridley Scott would nab the trophy.
Nonetheless, Soderbergh, 63, accepted the honor for Traffic, and Scott, 88, wouldn't even receive an Oscar when Gladiator won Best Picture that night — since the statues went to his film's producers. Tough break.
Crowe's win, meanwhile, laid the groundwork for what would become a two-year sweep of the Best Actor category. The following Oscars, he won the same race for A Beautiful Mind. Which performance do you like better?
Friday, May 1 marks 26 years since the official release of Gladiator, which would ultimately become a box-office smash. Inspired by the 1958 Daniel P. Mannix novel Those About to Die, it made $466 million globally and became the second-highest grossing movie that year.
Here's the official synopsis of Gladiator, which holds an 80% average critics' rating on Rotten Tomatoes based on 265 reviews: Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) takes power and strips rank from Maximus (Crowe), one of the favored generals of his predecessor and father, Emperor Marcus Aurelius, the great stoical philosopher. Maximus is then relegated to fighting to the death in the gladiator arenas.
Then came the Scott-directed sequel in 2024, which also received mostly positive reviews but is considered no match for the original. It helps that Gladiator II brought back co-star Connie Nielson and added beloved A-listers Pedro Pascal and Paul Mescal.
'The Hunger Games' Isn’t the Only Book in the Universe Getting a Deluxe Edition
With Sunrise on the Reaping coming out in theaters at the end of 2026, eyes are on copies of the books. Of course, there will be a movie tie-in cover released, and just recently we learned that there will be a deluxe edition of The Hunger Games. It turns out that there is much more to come.
For those who love to collect deluxe editions of books for their shelves, there is a new selection to look out for. The entire Hunger Games collection will be released as a deluxe boxset, but you can buy the books individually if you want.
‘Sunrise on the Reaping’ Paperback Will Get a Deluxe EditionBack in March, we learned that The Hunger Games deluxe box set would be released on October 6, 2026. All five books will be packaged together, bringing whole new covers that match the series. They all feature the mockingjay with bold and bright colors in the background.
View this post on InstagramOf course, The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes has a green snake looking to capture the mockingjay that is sitting on the tree, and it’s not the only cover with the snake. Sunrise on the Reaping will also feature a green snake, and this time, it’s wrapped itself around the mockingjay that is in midflight.
You can get the box of five books as one, but what if you already have the other books in this series? No, you don’t need to buy all of them again!
The Fifth ‘Hunger Games’ Book Will Get a Standalone ReleaseThere are sure to be plenty of people who don’t have the other books just yet, and it makes sense to release the deluxe edition as a full boxset just ahead of the movie release. However, if you want to add Sunrise on the Reaping to your existing collection, because you already have this specific special edition, then there’s some great news.

The Haymitch Abernathy story will be released as a standalone paperback edition with this exact cover. The downside is that we’re waiting until April 6, 2027, but it’s sure to be worth the wait, and you can preorder the release. Before then, there’s the movie tie-in edition, and there is the new deluxe edition of The Hunger Games, which will hopefully eventually be used for all the other books.

Would You Sip This? Jolly Rancher-Flavored Ryl Iced Tea Hits ShelvesEnter Ryl Tea's latest move—turning the unmistakable punch of Jolly Rancher candy into a lineup of ready-to-drink iced teas. Yes, the same bold, fruity flavors that once threatened to glue your teeth together are now being poured over ice, minus the sugar rush.
In collaboration with the Hershey Company, Ryl Tea has introduced Blue Raspberry, Green Apple and Cherry varieties that aim to capture that signature candy intensity in a smooth, sippable form.
The concept might sound like a sugar bomb waiting to happen, but here's the twist. These teas contain zero sugar and five calories or less, plus a boost of vitamin C and antioxidants. It's a clear nod to today's beverage trends, where consumers want flavor without compromise.
Instead of leaning into sweetness, Ryl Tea worked through multiple test rounds to recreate the essence of Jolly Rancher's "impossibly fruity" profile using real brewed tea as a base.

Ryl Tea x Jolly Ranchers Collaboration Calls for Debate on Social MediaThis launch also rides the wave of nostalgia-driven innovation. People don't just want new flavors—they want familiar ones reimagined in smarter ways. By transforming a candy aisle staple into a functional drink, Ryl Tea positions itself right at the intersection of indulgence and wellness.
Of course, no modern product debut is complete without social media buzz. The #RylFlavorRivalry campaign invites fans to pick sides—Blue Raspberry or Green Apple—turning taste into a friendly digital debate. One fan noted, "I had the blue razz and it was way better than I expected. It was good."
Cherry, for now, plays the exclusive card with a limited run at Target. It appears the brand is also launching a strawberry flavor, and according to a post on Instagram, it will be available wherever Ryl Tea is sold.
Whether this fusion becomes a daily staple or a one-time curiosity, it perfectly captures the current moment in food culture—playful, nostalgic and just a little bit unexpected.

Judith Light, 77, Is up to Her Regular Red Carpet Hijinks, and This Time People Are Talking
Judith Light is having the time of her life on the red carpet, and the people are talking.
The beloved Who’s the Boss star, 77, who is best known for her role as the high-powered advertising executive and single mom Angela Bower on the classic ’80s sitcom, used to wear office chic styles like pussy bow blouses and high shoulder pads on the hit show. That always contrasted with the working-class style of her Brooklyn-born housekeeper, Tony Micelli, famously played by Tony Danza. The heartwarming show followed Micelli as he moved into her ritzy Connecticut home with his young daughter, Samantha, played by Alyssa Milano. Naturally, chaos ensued as Micelli clashed with Bower’s straight-laced ways.
In the present day, Light, who has earned acclaim for her roles on Ugly Betty and Transparent, is still an absolute fashion queen who brings fun and endless style to the red carpet. But what people are noticing these days is how Light always mugs for the camera. Whether it's posing in a silly way or tossing her platinum blonde hair around, Light is always having more fun than anyone. So naturally, the gossip columns are starting to chatter.
The blonde beauty attended the 2026 AMC Networks Upfronts at Spring Studios on April 29 and worked her typical magic with that campiness we all love. Hey, she keeps things exciting! Work it, girl!

Would Judith Light Participate in a Who’s the Boss Reboot?Rumors of a Who’s the Boss reboot have gotten fans of the classic series curious about whether Light would return to reprise her role as Angela Bower. Last year, Milano, who played Tony’s daughter Samantha Micelli on the series, told Entertainment Tonight that she thinks a reboot would be a great idea.
“I think it could be really funny because, in my head, Tony is gonna be the exact same character but everything around him is just changing and growing,” Milano told ET. “So I’m excited about the prospect. I think it could be really, really fun.”
But Light isn’t sure she’d be able to commit to the show just yet. However, she made it clear that she also can’t guarantee what will happen in the future.
“In terms of where I am and the workload that I have right now, I don’t know what my availability would be,” the actress told PEOPLE last year. “When I started my career, I said I’d never do a soap opera and I’d never do a sitcom,” she continued. “Well, I did both those things. Then I said I would never marry an actor. And I did just that. So, I learned to never say never.”
Who could forget that classic series opening theme?
This New Doritos Snack Just Landed at Costco
If you're a Doritos lover trying to eat a little better in 2026, Costco just made the snack aisle a lot more exciting.
Doritos Protein, a bold new version of the classic tortilla chip that packs 10 grams of protein per serving, about five times more than original Nacho Cheese Doritos, has been spotted in warehouses.
Check out this April 28 TikTok from @costcoexperts:
@costcoexpertsNew Costco find: Protein Doritos 👀 10g protein per serving! #costco #costcofinds #costcotiktok #protein
♬ Austin Powers Theme (Soul Bossa Nova) - N.Y. Jazz OrchestraThe 12.8-ounce bag is priced at $5.89. The new chips keep the iconic bold flavor and crunchy texture everyone knows and loves, and are made without artificial colors, artificial flavors, or MSG.
According to PepsiCo, the launch reflects a push into more protein-focused snacks while still keeping Doritos' signature flavor front and center.
What Makes Doritos Protein Chips Different?Unlike the classic version, which contains around 2 grams of protein per serving, Doritos Protein delivers 10 grams. The protein itself comes from dairy-based casein, which is listed as the first ingredient. It's expected to roll out in multiple sizes, including a single-serve option with 17 grams of protein planned for later this year.
The lineup launches with two flavors. The Nacho Cheese sticks with the brand's best-selling, classic cheesy seasoning. There's also Sweet & Tangy BBQ, though it has not been spotted at Costco yet and is expected to roll out more broadly this year. Doritos describes that flavor as "a bold experience that elevates traditional BBQ flavor with sweetness, complex spices, and tanginess."

New items like this don't always hit every Costco location at once, so availability can vary by warehouse. Sightings like the one on TikTok are typically the first sign of a wider rollout, and you can use the Costco app (item #2041812) to check availability near you.
If you're looking for a more protein-forward chip, Doritos Protein brings a fun option with a nostalgic feel. It's a way to enjoy one of America's most popular flavors while getting a little more out of your snack.
If you're a Costco regular, this is one to watch for on your next trip.
