She’s only 12-years-old, but Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s daughter North West is already a superstar. While she might not join mom as a lawyer or entrepreneur anytime soon, the tween is taking after her dad. At least, when it comes to music.

Back in March, North teased the release of her new project, posting on Instagram, “ep soon #n0rth4evr.” The announcement was met with some veiled skepticism. One commenter wrote an underhanded semi-complement saying, “best nepo baby ever,” while another added, “this is how you do nepotism ok!” 

Of course, there was also plenty of outright applause for West, with one commenter raving about the tween, “She literally has infinite swag,” and another comparing her to her famous father, “North is the second coming of Ye.”

North’s latest post features a noir-ish video clip of the young celeb’s latest musical endeavor with the simple caption, “#n0rth4evr.” So what do fans think of West’s new song? One commenter praised the performer, writing, “Young Emo Icon,” as another said, “Living for this.” Fans also called her a “rockstar” and “north star.”

Even though North might look and sing like an adult, she’s not even a teenager yet. And with that in mind, Kim Kardashian has faced a string of recent backlashes for allowing her young daughter to dress and act older than most 12-year-olds. 

Last year, Kardashian defended herself and North, while on the Call Her Daddy podcast, saying, “You know what, she’s so creative and she’s so amazing. And really, it’s so funny, she’s like really mature in one sense where she’ll be like, ‘Mom, I saw this, and like I really don’t care that they don’t like it, if someone says they don’t like my blue hair or like my, you know, this or that.’ And she’s really confident, and is like I probably wouldn’t be hanging out with those people.”

Kardashian continued, candidly discussing parenting, “I think any mom of a teenager or a pre-teen, unless you’ve been here, like please, we just need a little bit of grace. It’s really hard, and it’s really interesting. Because all the kids are wearing the same things. And then my daughter tries to wear it, and I’m like, ‘Okay, we’re never wearing that again. Rotten Tomatoes ranked the top 300 movies of all time, compiling a list of the greatest films in history. Released in the U.S. on June 17, 2008, WALL-E was a major box office success for Disney. The film grossed over $521 million worldwide with a budget of only $180 million. Its commercial triumph earned it a place among the highest-grossing Pixar films at the time of its release.

WALL-E is an animated sci-fi film that follows a waste-compacting robot named as he navigates a post-apocalyptic Earth void of life after humanity abandoned the planet. Now living on a massive starship, humans have become entirely reliant on technology and overcome by a rampant consumeristic lifestyle.

When a sleek probe robot named EVE is sent to Earth in search of vegetation, Wall-e falls in love with her. While exploring their new unique relationship, the pair must work together as they travel back to the human-inhabited spacecraft to save the future of the species.

While the movie is a heartwarming story about two robots, it is famously silent, an experimental decision for a movie studio to make. Much of the film is completely void of traditional dialogue, with the first 40 minutes being almost entirely wordless. Sound designer Ben Burtt replaced spoken language with a rich palette of beeps and whirring noises to emulate a robotic dialect that keeps audiences effectively engaged.

To this day, WALL-E remains one of Disney's most critically recognized films. Its fan-favorite characters, stunning sound design and captivating story have solidified it as a film that redefined what was possible in modern animation.

There are ballads, and then there are power ballads. And Air Supply’s 1983 hit “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” is one of the era’s most powerful anthems. So powerful, in fact, it was just named one of SiriusXM's top songs of the ’80s. Perhaps more interesting, though, is the truth behind why the classic soft rock hit never hit No. 1.

Released in the summer of 1983, the track was featured on the duo’s Greatest Hits album. Featuring all the drama — arena rock guitar, emotionally charged lyrics, soaring vocals — the song was an instant hit on the Billboard charts, soaring to the No. 2 spot on the Hot 100. But for three weeks, it was in a chart battle with another power ballad, Bonnie Tyler’s “Total Eclipse of the Heart.”

But here’s where the story takes a right turn: Both songs were written by the same person — Jim Steinman. That’s right: “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” was blocked from No. 1 by its own songwriter. Written for another artist entirely, “Making Love Out of Nothing at All” was originally offered to Meat Loaf, with the artist reportedly saying, “My record company was anti-Jim Steinman at the time, I was anti-record company. So we were even.”

Though Air Supply were typically the crafters of their own music, they took a crack at Steinman’s song, as it fit in nicely with their other romantic ballads — see: “Lost in Love,” “All Out of Love,” and “The One That You Love.” A grand production, the 1983 hit has Russell Hitchcock singing lead and Graham Russell providing backup vocals and guitar. 

“I’d like to think I’m somewhat of a romantic, because otherwise my music wouldn't be real,” Russell told Songfacts. “But my whole background, even when I was growing up, was very much that way as well. For instance, I come from a place in England where all those great poets came from -- Wordsworth and Keats and all those guys -- so I was surrounded by it, and I loved poetry as a child.”

The only new song on the Aussie group's Greatest Hits compilation, the song helped the album sell more than 5 million copies in the U.S., where it went five-times platinum. Decades later, the track remains a timeless classic, showcasing Air Supply’s signature sound. Now a top song of the 1980s, it’s a reminder that near-misses can sometimes be the greatest wins — especially when two songs from the same songwriter end up shaping an era.

Howard Stern has filed a motion to dismiss the lawsuit from a former executive assistant alleging he and his wife, Beth Stern, created a hostile work environment.

In a lawsuit filed on April 5, Leslie Kuhn claimed that she was forced to sign a confidentiality agreement and a non-disclosure agreement in Feb. 2026 at the time of her "manufactured" termination.

Kuhn alleged that her termination "was the result of, among other things, a hostile work environment and enablement of that hostile work environment, immense pressures on the household created by irresponsible and untenable animal rescue and fostering operations occurring on site, and massively disorganized and questionable business operations and accounting practices."

In a statement toEntertainment Weekly, Stern's attorney said of the lawsuit, "We are not going to play this out in public. The Sterns are entitled to enforce nondisclosure agreements signed by employees who enter their home and their private life, and they have filed a motion to address the lawsuit and the conduct of Ms. Kuhn and her lawyer."

In court documents obtained by Entertainment Weekly filed on Wednesday, April 29, Stern called Kuhn's lawsuit, "a thinly veiled attempted shakedown" and claimed that she "hatched a plan to extract a staggering 'hush-money' payment" from him.

Stern also alleges that Kuhn, pretends she filed this action to 'protect her reputation' and defend herself against 'accusations' defendants made" but that "the only reason Kuhn's termination has become public is because she and her counsel chose to file this sensationalized lawsuit, announced her termination to the world, and then deliberately fanned media attention."


Stern said that Kuhn's lawsuit is founded on "a series of bald-faced lies." He continued to claim that she is asking the court to "free her from confidentiality and nondisclosure agreements that she indisputably signed."

Stern's attorney also disputed Kuhn's allegations of the Sterns creating a hostile work environment. "Kuhn's baseless, inflammatory allegation was not asserted for any legitimate purpose but solely to generate salacious headlines and to pressure defendants into capitulating," the Stern's attorney said in the filing.

Stern's legal team added, "Kuhn’s conduct underscores why parties like [the] defendants — which include famous public figures — are entitled to safeguard their privacy by contractually requiring those granted access to their homes and personal lives to sign agreements."

Kuhn's attorney said to Entertainment Weekly that her legal team stands in "vigorous opposition" to Stern's filing and that it is not "a threat to Ms. Kuhn's claims, factually or legally."

Kuhn had worked primarily in the Stern's mansion in the Hamptons from Jan. 2024 to Feb. 2026 and had previously worked as an office manager SiriusXM's The Howard Stern Show since 2022. Kuhn also worked closely with Beth with her nonprofit organization Beth's Furry Friends.

The year 2017 was another time. Fidget spinners, La La Land almost stole Moonlight'sthunder, Trump was inaugurated into office (for the first time), and Taylor Swift hadn't been seen in almost a year publicly.

Then, a sign, or an omen depending on who you ask, appeared on her Instagram in the form of a snake. And on November 10th, 2017, Swift officially ushered fans into her synth-pop, heavy hitting, darker than usual reputation era.

Following her 1989 album (which also marked her official transition from country to pop music), Swift was absolutely everywhere and her stardom was rising at a stratospheric rate. The album spent an entire year in the top 10 of the US Billboard 200 chart, really solidifying Swift as a pop icon. But because of this, the media and public scrutiny on her was also amplified. Throughout 2015 and 2016 criticism of Swift ranged from her feminism being performative to her relationships being publicity stunts, and they ultimately culminated in her longstanding feud with rapper Kanye West reaching a new level.

In a video released by West's then wife, Kim Kardashian, Swift was caught on camera seemingly consenting to the lyric, "I made that bitch famous"for West's song "Famous" in reference to her. Despite the video being edited, this turned the public against Swift who now saw her as fake and calculated. #TaylorSwiftIsOverParty trended on Twitter internationally, and users flooded Swift's social media spamming her with the snake emoji.

Because of all of the scrutiny, Swift would take a full hiatus from press and public appearances from 2016-2017. "People might need a break from [me]," she said of that time.

However, it was during that hiatus that Swift ultimately would write and record her reputation album. Swift has said that writing the album was her way of reclaiming the narrative and it was a true defense mechanism for her.

reputation opened in the number one spot on the US Billboard 200 chart and sold over a million copies in just four days. The album was the bestselling album of 2017 and would go on to be listed in several publications as one of their best of the year.

Despite all of this, in a recent interview held by The New York Times with songwriters, Swift pointed out that she felt the album and its songs were actually some of the most "slept on" of her prolific career. reputation was met with mixed reviews upon its release almost 10 years ago, and it took fans "six or seven years" according to Swift to give it the recognition and love she felt for it from the start.

Not only has the love for reputation held strong and even grown over the last nine years, fans have been feral in their anticipation of Swift's rerecord, or her "Taylor's Version," of the album. However in a heartfelt letter to her devoted fanbase, Swift called the album the first of her six she didn't think she could improve upon. The vault tracks may still be released at some time.

It's safe to say that in terms of loving reputation, the Swifties definitely did come around, just like Taylor knew they would.

Modern-day music enthusiasts tend to have a deep appreciation for 1960s discography. While it's not an easy task to rank the best '60s records, the publication Collider recently released a list of the "10 greatest albums of the 1960s."

The ranking, published on April 30, included hit '60s records like The Velvet Underground & Nico's The Velvet Underground & Nico from 1967, Nina Simone's 1965 album, Pastel Blues, 1966's Blonde on Blonde by Bob Dylan, and The Beach Boys' 1966 Pet Sounds.

Collider named The Beatles' 1969 album, Abbey Road, as the best 1960s record. According to the publication, the record arguably combines everything that made the iconic British band great.

Ringo Starr Shared Some Insight Into the Famous 'Abbey Road' Album Cover

Abbey Road, which came out a year before the band split, features several beloved Beatles songs like "Come Together," "Something," "Octopus's Garden," and "Here Comes the Sun." The album is also known for its famous cover, wherein George Harrison, John Lennon, Paul McCartney, and Ringo Starrwalk single-file on the Abbey Road crosswalk.

In an April 2026 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Starr revealed it wasn't always the plan for him and his bandmates to take a picture outside of their recording studio, now known as Abbey Road Studios. According to Starr, he, McCartney, Lennon, who died in 1980, and Harrison, who died in 2001, were considering traveling outside of Britain to shoot the cover.

"We sat there in deep conversation about the album cover. 'Should we go to like Egypt and do the pyramids, you know, stand by the pyramids? Or we should go here where there's something great in that city. Go to Rome.' 'Uh, why don't we just walk across the road? Just across the road,'" said the famed drummer during the April 2026 interview.

He also said the cars seen in the album were already parked on the road when the cover's picture was being taken.

"We just got off our seats, walked out the front door, and walked across," said Starr.

Fear not — two of ABC's popular sitcoms are heading back to the network for another season!

Viewers can expect even more hilarity on their TV screens, thanks to the renewal of Scrubs and Shifting Gears. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both comedies were picked up for next season.

Years later, fans are still cozying up to Scrubs. The original Zach Braff starrer first premiered in 2001 and was revived in February of this year. So far, along with Braff (as John "J.D." Dorian), actors Donald Faison (as Christopher Turk), Sarah Chalke (as Elliott Reid), Judy Reyes (as Carla Espinosa), Christa Miller (as Jordan Sullivan), John C. McGinley (as Dr. Cox), Robert Maschio (as Todd Quinlan), and Neil Flynn (as the Janitor) have all returned to the series reboot. 25 years later, Scrubs still holds up for old fans of the show while new fans discover the beloved characters for the first time.

Shifting Gears, starring TV comedy veterans Tim Allen (Last Man Standing) and Kat Dennings (Two Broke Girls), closed out its second season in February with a major cliffhanger. Surely, its third season will tie up some unanswered questions while also leaving its loyal viewership wanting more. And perhaps, another Home Improvement reunion could be in store for audiences! Allen is listed as an executive producer on the show, with Dennings acknowledged as one of its producers.

Actors Seann William Scott and Daryl "Chill" Mitchell round out the main cast of Shifting Gears, with Jenna Elfman (Dharma & Greg), Jesse Williams (Grey's Anatomy), Lucas Neff (Raising Hope), and Nancy Travis (NCIS) as recurring cast members.

Shifting Gears and Scrubs joins Grey's Anatomy, High Potential, The Rookie, 911, 911: Nashville, Abbott Elementary, and Will Trent on ABC's slate of renewed series for the upcoming television season.

Kendra Duggar's parents Paul and Christina Caldwell are providing an update on their GoFundMe.

On Apr. 4, the Caldwells launched the fundraiser to raise money for housing and counseling services. So far, the family has raised over $34,000.

"Just wanted to say a heartfelt thank to all those who have sacrificed to help and encourage, the prayers and encouraging words have been most helpful to us," Paul wrote on Wednesday, Apr. 29. "There have been a few unkind comments, but I believe those are mostly due to a misunderstanding of the situation."

Paul then seemingly clarified that none of the money raised would go to his son-in-law Joseph Duggar. Joseph was arrested and charged for Lewd and Lascivious Behavior, involving unlawful sexual activity with a minor, in March.

"To be clear none of the funds from this fundraiser are going to help anyone who would harm children in any way," Paul continued. "We are willing to stand for the protection of the weak and vulnerable in society, because of that stand we have been put in a situation that has cause the [loss] of our current housing situation and employment, having to relocate on such short notice has left us in a bit of an financial struggle."

"We also need to have some time to get some much needed counseling," he concluded. "Thank you and thank you again for your encouragement and support during this time for our family."

According to public records, Joseph and Kendra sold a property to Paul and Christina for $10,000 in July 2021. 

In a jail call made to Joseph on Mar. 25, Kendra said that “my family said they’re moving out in a month and everybody is going to hold them to it.”

Kendra did not specify why her parents and younger siblings were moving out.

On Apr. 15, Kendra’s parents Paul and Christina spoke out about Joseph's arrest for the first time via a statement posted to Instagram. 

“Our family is both troubled and heartbroken over the alleged actions committed by our son-in-law,” the statement said in part. “We are devastated for the young girl, a child who was courageous in every way to share her truth. We stand by her, both in support and prayer, and forever will.”

“We also recognize how traumatic this incident has been for our grandchildren as well and continue to pray for their strength. Our love for them, and our daughter Kendra, remains,” the Caldwells added.

When people talk about natural wonders in the United States, the conversation usually goes straight to the Grand Canyon or Yellowstone. Those places deserve their fame. Yet according to a recent global analysis of visitor reviews, the most underrated natural wonder in the world is actually located in Washington State’s Olympic National Park: the Hoh Rain Forest.

The ranking comes from a study that examined more than 54,000 Google reviews from 75 natural wonders worldwide, analyzing how often visitors used positive words such as “beautiful,” “amazing,” and “relaxing.” The Hoh Rain Forest topped the list with 69.6 percent of reviews containing those enthusiastic descriptions, placing it above famous landscapes across the globe.

Why the Hoh Rain Forest Feels So Different From Other National Parks

Part of what makes the Hoh Rain Forest remarkable is its rarity. Temperate rainforests exist in only a few places on Earth. Most people associate rainforests with tropical regions like the Amazon, but the Pacific Northwest hosts its own version. Cool temperatures and steady rainfall create a thick canopy of Douglas fir, western red cedar, and bigleaf maple.

The result is a forest that feels almost prehistoric. Ferns cover the ground. Fallen trees become nurseries for new life. The air smells damp and earthy, like soil after a long rainstorm. Even the light behaves differently here, filtering through layers of leaves and moss until it glows softly on the forest floor.

For travelers, the experience often begins with the Hall of Mosses, one of the most famous trails in Olympic National Park. It is a short loop, but it feels cinematic. Moss drapes from branches like green velvet, and the quiet is so complete that footsteps sound unusually loud.

The same global study revealed another interesting finding. The United States actually has five sites among the world’s 30 most underrated natural wonders, showing how many extraordinary landscapes remain overlooked by travelers.

• Crater Lake in Oregon formed after a volcanic eruption roughly 7,700 years ago. Today, it holds the title of the deepest lake in the United States and is famous for its intensely blue water.

• Another is Mendenhall Glacier in Alaska, a dramatic river of ice that flows out of the Juneau Icefield. Standing near the glacier’s edge, you can hear the occasional crack and groan of shifting ice.

• Grand Prismatic Spring, Yellowstone's largest hot spring, is a geothermal wonder that looks like a painter’s palette from above. The spring’s vivid colors come from heat-loving microorganisms that thrive in the mineral-rich water.

• Even Horseshoe Bend in Arizona appears on the underrated list, despite its growing popularity on social media. The sweeping curve of the Colorado River carved through sandstone remains one of the most striking viewpoints in the American Southwest.

Visiting the Hoh Rain Forest requires a bit of intention. When most travelers think of local cuisine, they imagine street food stalls, Michelin-starred tasting menus, or hidden neighborhood cafés. Rarely does a golden arch enter the picture. Yet one of the most surprisingly revealing windows into a country’s food culture can be the humble McDonald’s.

Recently,Brie Larson reminded travelers of this truth when she shared a playful review of several seasonal items from McDonald's in Japan on Instagram. Filming from a dressing room during a trip to the country, she taste-tested a handful of Japan-only menu items and rated them with infectious enthusiasm.

Larson’s impromptu taste test centered on a few seasonal Japanese items that immediately make American travelers feel they are missing out.

First came the Teritama Sandwich, a combination of teriyaki sauce, egg, cheese, and lettuce layered on a burger bun. Larson seemed surprised by how much she enjoyed it, calling it “extremely good” and rating it a 9 out of 10.

Then she tried Shaka Shaka Chicken, which she described as looking like a “fried chicken patty situation.” You pour a packet of seasoning into the bag and shake everything together until the chicken is coated. Larson’s packet was cheddar flavored, though the taste was more sweet and salty than cheesy. She gave the interactive snack a respectable 7.5 out of 10.

Next came Shaka Shaka Fries, another DIY experience. Instead of receiving pre-seasoned fries, customers dump their fries into a bag with pizza-flavored powder and shake them like a maraca. Larson joked that McDonald’s could easily do this themselves, but clearly, “they know you want the enjoyment.” The result earned an 8.5.

The standout, though, was the Sakuramochi Pie, a strawberry pastry inspired by cherry blossom season desserts. The packaging alone impressed Larson, but the flavor sealed the deal. She gave it a perfect 10.

Surprising McDonald’s Dishes Around the World

Japan is hardly the only country where McDonald’s gets creative. In fact, the brand’s international menus often feel like a culinary passport.

• In Australia, the chain has served items like the Big Brekkie Burger, with bacon, egg, BBQ sauce, beef patty and a crispy hash brown.

The Joy of Unexpected Travel Snacks

What made Brie Larson’s video so charming was its sense of discovery. She approached the meal with curiosity rather than expectations. That is exactly the mindset that turns ordinary travel moments into memorable ones.

The best travel experiences are not always planned. Sometimes they are spontaneous. Sometimes they involve shaking pizza powder onto fries in a paper bag. And sometimes, somewhere halfway across the world, a strawberry sakura pie from a fast food chain ends up being one of the most delightful bites of the trip.

GoldieHawn is ready to return to the big screen after a six-year break.

The 80-year-old actress has not performed since the 2020 film The Christmas Chronicles, in which she played Mrs. Claus.

Now, she is looking for the next role that meets her standards.

“I would love to get a material that could actually be like, ‘Oh my God, I want this so bad. This is so funny. She’s so crazy. She’s so interesting.’ But I haven’t come across it,” Hawn told People. “If somebody came up with a really cool, funny script… I think it would be great.”

The Private Benjamin actress won't return to work for just any project.

“It's about the content,” she said. “It has to do with the content. Acting for acting's sake, taking things… I've read a lot of shows, a lot of scripts that I didn't like or I didn't think I'd fit.”

She's worked in Hollywood for nearly 60 years. Hawn began as a dancer and transitioned to acting in the 1960s. She has won two Emmy Award nominations for her work in television and earned an Academy Award for her performance in the 1969 film Cactus Flower.

“The one thing about acting is that I've done it, and I had a great career, and I honor that,” Hawn explained.

While the Death Becomes Her star has no concrete plans to get back in the game, she wouldn’t be opposed to working with her daughter, two-time Oscar nominee KateHudson.

“I would love that. And the two of us have thought a lot about it,” she said. “Never say never, because that could happen at any time.”

Hawn doesn’t seem to be in a rush to get back on the big screen. She has been busy with MindUP, the mental health program she founded in 2003. The initiative aims to help young people regulate rising anxiety through neuroscience and emotional learning.

“I think ultimately every life has to have its sections,” said Hawn. “Doing the same thing over and over again for your whole life is not as interesting to me. And I decided at probably 55 or something. ‘What are you going to do for this next part of your life?' And I knew that there was more out there to learn and to do.”

Hawn may not have a formal plan to return to Hollywood, but her next project just might be out there.

Another Wild Ride from Freida McFadden

When speaking with USA Today while revealing the first chapter of the novel, McFadden shared that the story is one of those that starts with a “simple question.” She wants people to think about, “what happens when your partner in life decides to blow up everything you once had together? And more importantly, would you sit back and let them or would you take matters into your own hands?”

Of course, most people in real life need to just accept what life has thrown at them and figure out how to make lemonade. However, that’s not the case in a novel by the mastermind of The Housemaid universe, and she hopes that people start to question everything they know. This is a ride that is worth waiting for, as The Divorce will be released on May 26, 2026.

Maury Povich, best known for his long-running daytime talk show, is making headlines this month following a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live! and a podcast episode featuring fellow 90s talk show icon Ricki Lake.

Fans couldn't help but notice that Povich, who turned 87 in January, looked especially sharp. Many were also surprised by his full head of hair, which became a topic of conversation after he addressed it on the April 27 episode of his On Par podcast.

During his chat with Lake, Povich said he has never had plastic surgery and insisted his hair is all his own—no transplants. He added that he has no real explanation for it, noting that both his father and brother experienced thinning hair as they aged.

It didn't take long for fans to praise Povich in the comments section of the YouTube video, many commenting on his appearance.

"Wow Maury (and Ricki) looks amazing! So glad he's given us so many years of entertainment. Godspeed," one person wrote.

"They both look great and Maury is 87 and a full head of hair, awesome," someone else added.

"Maury looks great," a third comment read.

"87 Maury," a fourth YouTube viewer said, adding a red heart emoji.

A little more than one year ago, Povich announced that he'd be starting a podcast.

"For the past 30 plus years, everybody has thought of me as a kind of a talk show host who [discusses] certain themes," he told People magazine in 2025. "That was a great career and I love the storytelling, and I think that I was able to do successfully because of my earlier career as a journalist and a storyteller when it came to news, and rather traditional talk shows that I did."

"If I was sitting at a desk back anchoring a newscast, I would never unveil myself. And so this is, I think, a perfect medium," he added.

All of this, Povich said, reflects a career that has evolved over decades—but one he still clearly has no plans of stepping away from just yet.

In 2024, Emma Operacz, who is now 23, was a typical college senior at Eastern Michigan University. She was in a sorority, had a great group of friends and was working as a barista. Her life was full—and busy. But everything changed when she started experiencing symptoms of what she thought was a urinary tract infection (UTI).

“I had UTIs before, so I didn’t really think anything of it,” Operacz tells Parade. As she’d done in the past, she went to the urgent care near her university and treated it with antibiotics and an over-the-counter pain reliever. But the symptoms didn’t go away. In fact, Operacz was still experiencing them a month later and they’d gotten worse. “I had a fever for almost a week straight, had pain in my right side and couldn’t get out of bed,” she says.

Together, Operacz and her mom went to see Operacz’s primary care doctor. Little did she know that this would be the beginning of a health journey that resulted in a rare cancer diagnosis and a fight for her life.

Parade spoke with Operacz about her health journey, including how she finally received a diagnosis after a month of other doctors being stumped, and how she’s doing now. Plus, what she hopes everyone will take away from her health journey.

Searching for a Diagnosis

At her appointment with her primary care doctor, Operacz’s doctor couldn’t figure out what was causing Operacz’s symptoms to persist. That led to more doctors’ visits; one with a gynecologist and another with a urogynecologist. 

“The urogynecologist did a pelvic exam and said my pelvic lymph nodes were really swollen,” Operacz says. 

Operacz was transferred to the emergency room, where she was given antibiotics, pain medication and underwent an ultrasound.

"I peed in a cup for the millionth time and had another pelvic exam, which hurt so bad,” Operacz says. Still puzzled, the emergency room doctors admitted her to the hospital. “They told me very nonchalantly that I either had an infection or lymphoma,” she recalls.

Operacz didn’t think she had lymphoma, which is a cancer that affects the lymphatic system. “I was 21 and just did not see that being in my deck of cards,” she tells Parade.

Operacz stayed in the hospital for four days, running a fever the entire time. She says her mom and older sister stayed with her almost entirely, sharing, “My sister is a teacher, so she would teach during the day and spend the nights with me at the hospital."

After four days and at the urging of Operacz’s sister and her aunt, who is a kidney surgeon, the doctors performed a biopsy to screen for cancer. The test came back positive and Operacz was diagnosed with Stage 4 T-cell lymphoma. 

It took one month from when Operacz first started experiencing symptoms for her to be diagnosed. “Even though I was diagnosed with cancer, part of me was relieved to finally have an answer,” Operacz explains.

A Long, Hard Fight to Remission

Stage 4 T-cell lymphoma is an advanced, aggressive cancer where cancerous cells have spread to other parts of the body outside the lymphatic system. According to Operacz, her original treatment plan was to do chemotherapy once a month, for six months.

“The doctors said I would still be able to go to class, work and live a pretty normal life,” Operacz says, adding that she was about to start her last semester of college. Unfortunately, that isn’t what happened.

Before her first chemotherapy appointment was even scheduled, Operacz’s health took a turn for the worse. She was staying at her sister’s apartment and started throwing up in the middle of the night. The lymph nodes in her neck felt swollen and Operacz was in excruciating pain. “I felt like my lymph nodes had exploded throughout my whole body. I couldn’t move my neck. I couldn’t walk,” she reveals.

Operacz took an ambulance to the hospital and the doctors started chemotherapy and gave her pain medications, and the chemotherapy immediately helped relieve her symptoms. “I felt so much better and had really high hopes that the chemo was working,” she says. Operacz stayed at the hospital for a couple of days. Her symptoms (and her scans) continued to improve. Then, she was released.

Unfortunately, this upturn didn’t last. Over the next few months, Operacz says she never lasted more than five days out of the hospital because her symptoms kept coming back. “Either I had an infection or I needed a blood transfusion because my immune system was so shot,” she explains.

Operacz felt defeated. She couldn’t work or go to class. She had stopped texting her friends and no longer felt remotely like herself. Still, her family was there for her every step of the way. Then, they received devastating news. The cancer had spread to Operacz’s brain and was in her central nervous system. This caused Operacz to experience terrible migraines. 

“At that point, my doctors didn’t know what to do,” Operacz tells Parade. In the meantime, she was getting weaker. Operacz and her family reached out to an oncologist at Toledo Cancer Center, who ultimately referred Operacz to Cleveland Clinic, where she stayed for roughly a month. 

During this time, Operacz underwent chemotherapy, which was not working. Then, Operacz’s doctor, Dr. Deepa Jagadeesh, MD, who specializes in lymphoma, put her on an immunotherapy drug called Alectinib, which is typically used to treat non-small cell lung cancer. To everyone’s relief, Operacz’s symptoms started to improve. She was released to the hospital, following instructions to continue taking the Alectinib as well as steroids and several other medications, and had to stay nearby so she could come in for regular bloodwork and monitoring.

Slowly, Operacz started to rebuild her strength. In September 2025—a year and a half after being diagnosed—Dr. Jagadeesh told Operacz that she was officially in remission.

This still wasn’t the end of Operacz’s cancer battle. She had to go through more chemotherapy, radiation and needed a bone marrow transplant because cancer was in her bone marrow. When her sister tested positive as a 50% match, the siblings began the transplant process.

“It was [two months] of appointments and then the surgery,” Operacz says. The transplant surgery took place on November 8, 2025 (the day after Operacz’s 22nd birthday) and was successful. 

Adapting to a ‘New Normal’ 

Adapting to life after cancer hasn’t been easy for Operacz, as she explains she had to grieve that she didn’t get to finish her final semester of college with her friends. “I decided to transfer to a new college because I’m just not the person I was when I went to Eastern Michigan anymore,” she says. 

Operacz reveals it’s taken time for her to think through what her next steps should be and find her purpose again. “There were some really dark days,” she tells Parade. Now, she’s seeing a therapist to work through the trauma she experienced in the past two years. “The hardest part isn’t the cancer. It’s rebuilding afterwards,” she explains.

But Operacz is rebuilding. In December, she graduated with a degree in psychology and is now getting her master’s in social work at Cleveland State University. “My life is good. I have an amazing family, I have a boyfriend now and my sister is pregnant. I’m working toward a career that I’m passionate about and I’m excited for the future,” she says.

Operacz shares that the biggest lesson she hopes people will take away from her health journey is to never stop advocating for yourself. “Fight for answers. If one doctor doesn’t have them, go to another one. Don’t give up,” she says. 

Operacz is optimistic that the days spent fighting for her health are over. Instead, she’s focused on living and working toward a career that will help others find the light in their darkest days.

“There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel,” Operacz says. “It might take a long time to find it sometimes, but there’s always a light.”

Growing up blue-collar, finances have always been a game of survival from paycheck to paycheck. My parents worked (and sadly still work) so incredibly hard, but they didn't exactly get the luxury of having any guidance on financial planning. However, many people like my parents who are coming up on retirement are in for a bit of a shock. According to financial expertDave Ramsey, while these two retirement accounts are still great, there are a lot of ways the average American can screw them up.

“If it’s not clear by now, we love the 401(k) for retirement investing,” Ramsey recently wrote. “But as great as it is, it’s not always enough on its own.”

Making Your Investments Work for You

Ramsey warns that these accounts can fall short if fees are too high, if you can't reach the goal of saving 15% of your income by investing in your 401(k) alone, or if it doesn't have a Roth option.

“Most companies partner with a brokerage firm to administer 401(k) plans for their employees,” Ramsey noted. “Those firms usually provide a limited menu of investment options — mostly mutual funds, index funds and target-date funds.”

“You might look at your options and feel underwhelmed,” he added. “If that’s the case, pick the best options available and invest up to the match. Then invest in a Roth IRA where you have more control.”

Ramsey champions the Roth IRA because it operates on the principle of paying taxes on the "seed" rather than the "harvest." What that means is that by contributing after-tax dollars now, you lock in today’s tax rates—which is especially poignant in a society where taxes will likely continue to rise. This ensures that every penny of compound growth is entirely tax-free when you retire.

Unlike traditional accounts, the Roth IRA offers total control with no "Required Minimum Distributions" (RMDs), allowing your money to grow as long as you like or be passed down as a tax-free inheritance. Ultimately, Ramsey prefers this method because a dollar in a Roth account is "clean" money that belongs entirely to you, whereas a dollar in a traditional account still has a significant debt owed to the IRS.

The main point Ramsey wants to drive home, though, is that you absolutely cannot rely on government Social Security to sustain you throughout retirement.

“You shouldn’t rely on Social Security as your only or major source of income in retirement,” he once wrote on Ramsey Solutions. “It’s only meant to replace a portion— think of it as the little cherry on top of your retirement sundae.”

The Ramsey 15% Order of Operations

Ultimately, Ramsey suggests you invest 15% of your gross income for retirement in this specific order:

The Rest: If you haven't hit your 15% goal yet, go back to your 401(k) and put the rest there.

The Match: Put enough in your 401(k) to get the "free money" from your boss.

The Roth: Max out a Roth IRA. (For 2026, the limit is $7,500, or $8,600 if you're 50+).

Ahead of SVU's Thursday, April 30 episode, NBC shared an exclusive sneak peek with Parade of the Parenthoodactress in action as Talia Federov.

"NYPD, we're looking for Talia Federov," Ice T's Sergeant Odafin "Fin" Tutuola said at the beginning of the clip as he and his team entered an apartment.

"Who are you?" Talia asked, looking confused, to which Jake Griffin (Corey Cott) replied, "I'm Detective Griffin," also identifying Sergeant Tutuola.

Fin then explained, "We need to ask you a few questions, take a look around the apartment."

"Why would you need to look around my apartment? Talia asked, prompting Griffin to chime in, "We think someone may have been sexually assaulted here at a party the other night."

To that, she exclaimed, "Oh my God. Who? In my home? Here?"

"We already have a suspect," Fin shared. "We just ned to take a look at the crime scene. We'll be in and out in five minutes."

"I would love to help you guys out, I really would. But my dad is a retired judge. Owen Federov—I'm sure you've heard of him," Talia told them. "And he would absolutely kill me if I let law enforcement in without a warrant. So I'm sorry..."

"Good thing we brought one," Fin interrupted as he handed Talia the search warrant and walked past her. After Griffin instructed the team to come in and spread out, Talia insisted, "This is a mistake, I'm sure of it. You can't just waltz in here and barge in and start touching everything."

When Fin instructed his team to search the guest room, she continued to push back, saying, "The guest room? There's nothing in the guest room that you need to see."

Although the clip ended there, SVU fans can tune in to Thursday's episode, titled "Impropriety," to find out what happens next.

A logline from NBC reads, "An unconscious and injured teen abandoned outside a hospital sends the SVU on a search for the people who left her there. Benson faces serious consequences when she chooses to protect a victim’s secret under the pressure of cross‑examination."

For millions of viewers, Friendswas comfort TV at its best. Six young people navigating life in New York, week after week, for a decade. But for the people who made it, the experience was not always as warm as the Central Perk couch implied. Lisa Kudrow, who played Phoebe Buffay across all ten seasons of the NBCsitcom, has broken her silence on what she describes as a 'brutal' atmosphere behind the scenes, including a writers' room culture she says crossed serious lines.

In a new interview with The Times of London published in late April 2026, Kudrow, 62, described an environment shaped by intense pressure and, she alleges, inappropriate behavior from the show's predominantly male writing staff. The show was filmed in front of a live studio audience of 400 people, and Kudrow says the writers did not hold back when something went wrong. 'Don't forget we were recording in front of a live audience of 400, and if you messed up one of these writers' lines or it didn't get the perfect response, they could be like, 'Can't the b—- f—ing read?' she recalled.

The remarks cut against one of the most beloved shows in television history. Friends ran on NBC from 1994 to 2004, becoming a global cultural touchstone whose six leads, Kudrow alongside Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, are still recognizable to audiences young and old. The show has never stopped airing in syndication, and the cast reportedly still earns around $20 million per year collectively in residuals, a figure Kudrow referenced in the same interview.

Beyond the verbal harshness, Kudrow alleged that male writers made explicit comments about her female co-stars. 'We know that back in the room, the guys would be up late discussing their sexual fantasies about Jennifer and Courteney,' she said. 'It was intense.' A similar allegation surfaced in a 1999 lawsuit filed by Amaani Lyle, a writers' assistant who claimed she was subjected to inappropriate conversations about Aniston and Cox. Lyle ultimately lost the case after a court ruled the speech was part of the writing process and not directed at her.

Kudrow's response to the environment at the time was pragmatic. 'It could be brutal, but these guys, and it was mostly men in there, were sitting up until 3 a.m. trying to write the show,' she said, adding that her approach was to tune it out as long as nothing was directed at her personally. Despite the memories, her feelings about the show itself remain positive, particularly when it comes to the late Matthew Perry. After rewatching the series following his death in October 2023, she said she felt genuine pride for the first time. 'Matthew, he was just beyond us all.'

The interview comes at an interesting moment for the Friends legacy. The show's cast has spent much of 2025 and 2026 reflecting on the series from a new vantage point, older, removed from the daily machinery of it, and in Kudrow's case, willing to name what was difficult alongside what she treasures. Audiences who grew up with Phoebe Buffay may find their understanding of the show they loved complicated in ways that feel, in 2026, entirely familiar.
