Patrick Clancy, the ex-husband of Lindsay Clancy, was photographed in New York City with his wife Rachel Danis on Thursday, Aug. 13.

TMZ published photos of Patrick and Rachel, who were said to be having a “tense” interaction while seated outside in the outside area of an apartment. An eyewitness told the outlet that the couple “spent roughly 30 minutes on and off their phones and appeared visibly stressed.”

This marks the first time that Patrick has been photographed in public since he testified in his ex-wife’s ongoing murder trial. Lindsay has admitted to killing the former couple’s three young children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months.

Why Is Lindsay Clancy on Trial?

According to the court proceedings, Lindsay strangled her three children in the basement of her home in Duxbury, Massachusetts, in January 2023 while Patrick was out running errands. She then slit her wrists and her throat before jumping out a second-story window in an apparent suicide attempt.

Lindsay has been charged with three counts of first degree murder, but her trial isn’t meant to determine whether or not she’s guilty. The defense claims that she was suffering from postpartum psychosis and was overmedicated, which led her to do the unthinkable while the prosecution claims that she was of sound mind when committing the murders.

What Has Patrick Clancy Said About Lindsay Clancy?

Patrick, who got remarried sometime over the past three years, has openly supported his ex-wife.

“Our marriage was wonderful and diametrically grew stronger as her condition rapidly worsened. I took as much pride in being her husband as I did in being a father and felt persistently lucky to have her in my life,” he wrote on a GoFundMe page; the campaign, intended to help Patrick pay for “medical bills, funeral services, and legal help,” raised more than $1 million. “She loved being a nurse, but nothing matched her intense love for our kids and dedication to being a mother. It was all she ever wanted. Her passion taught me how to be a better father.”

“I want to ask all of you that you find it deep within yourselves to forgive Lindsay, as I have. The real Lindsay was generously loving and caring towards everyone – me, our kids, family, friends, and her patients. The very fibers of her soul are loving. All I wish for her now is that she can somehow find peace,” he added.

In the past year, Southwest Airlines has undergone some major changes, from introducing Starlink Wi-Fi to eliminating one of its longtime signature offerings and assigning passengers specific seats on flights. Inkcarceration Tattoo & Music Festival has teased fans with a major update for its highly anticipated 2027 return.

Following the massive success of its 2026 event, hosting a sold-out crowd of 90,000 concertgoers, the major heavy metal festival will be returning to the iconic Ohio State Reformatory in Mansfield.

In an Instagram update, the festival announced the official dates for the three-day event.

“Inkmates… your sentence continues. We’re heading back behind the walls of the Ohio State Reformatory July 16 to 18, 2027,” the caption reads.

Accompanied by a haunting clip, the announcement quickly drew excited reactions from followers who couldn’t wait to see the intense performances and thrilling band lineups.

“Excited!” one wrote.

“Lockup!” another added.

The same goes for a follower who said, “You don’t even know how excited I am for this!!! I’m ready for my sentence!! 4th year going.”

“Yeah, buddy. The planning has begun,” a fan echoed.

Others are also looking forward to seeing their favorite bands.

“Let’s see @systemofadown,” one said.

“Please bring Limp Bizkit,” another added.

As one of the biggest heavy metal festivals in Ohio, Inkcarceration will begin its ticket presale for subscribers on Friday, Aug. 21 at 12 p.m. EST, while general ticket sales will start on Monday, Aug. 24 at 12 p.m. EST.

In addition, the festival also offers different packages, including three-day GA, Camping and VIP options. The VIP package includes full three-day VIP access, an air-conditioned lounge, elevated stage viewing, fast-track VIP entry to the festival and more.

The venue has been the Inkcarceration Tattoo & Music Festival’s location since its inaugural event in 2018.

For years, fans have witnessed high-energy performances from bands on three main performance stages, while the indoor setup also features a tattoo convention showcasing more than 100 tattoo artists.

In 2026, more than 65 bands performed across the three stages, headlined by Disturbed, Bad Omens and Limp Bizkit.

Adding to the excitement, music veterans and rising talents took the stage, including Papa Roach, Ice Nine Kills, A Day to Remember, Lorna Shore, Machine Head, Poppy, Starset, Jinjer, Hatebreed, Sleep Theory, Fit For A King, Memphis May Fire, Jutes, Dying Wish, Sanguisugabogg, Lacuna Coil, Escape The Fate, Alien Ant Farm, PeelingFlesh, Spite, Norma Jean, Silent Planet and many more.

As for Inkcarceration 2027, fans will have to wait for more details to be announced in the coming months.

“Fairytale Of New York” was released by The Pogues in 1987. According to The Telegraph, it is the most played Christmas song of the century. It took two years for Jem Finer and Shane MacGowan to finish writing the song. “Every night I used to have another bash at nailing the lyrics, but I knew they weren’t right,” McGowan told Nine. “It is by far the most complicated song that I have ever been involved in writing and performing. The beauty of it is that it sounds really simple.”

When it came to the singers in the song, singer and songwriter Kirsty MacColl was chosen to perform alongside frontman Shane McGowan. Steve Lillywhite, who produced the final version of the song, said, “To be honest, they weren’t 100 per cent convinced that Kirsty was the right person. I spent a whole day on Kirsty’s vocals. I made sure every single word had exactly the right nuance. I remember taking it in on Monday morning and playing it to the band – and they were just dumbfounded.”

However, McGowan loved her from the start. “I was madly in love with Kirsty from the first time I saw her on Top of the Pops,”  he said. “She was a genius in her own right, and she was a better producer than he was! She could make a song her own, and she made Fairytale her own.”

Despite its popularity, the song has never reached the No. 1 spot in the US or UK. However, Spider Stacy told NME, “It doesn’t need it. ‘Fairytale of New York’ not being Number One is a bit like how neither [acclaimed footballers] Johan Cruyff nor George Best won a World Cup!”

The Pogues had a few more hits over the years, including “Dirty Old Town,” “A Pair of Brown Eyes,” and “A Rainy Night in Soho.” The band also received a lifetime achievement award at the Meteor Ireland Music Awards in 2006.

Unfortunately, MacGowan died in 2023 at the age of 65. The surviving members of The Pogues went on tour after this time.

Frank Beard’s name seemed almost too perfect for ZZ Top.

The longtime drummer, who died Monday, Aug. 17 at 77, was the only member of the legendary Texas rock trio who didn’t wear the massive facial hair that became synonymous with the band.

But there was actually a reason Beard didn’t have the famous ZZ Top look, and it wasn’t necessarily part of some elaborate joke.

Beard joined ZZ Top in 1969, alongside guitarist Billy Gibbons and bassist Dusty Hill. The trio would go on to become one of rock’s most recognizable bands, with their music and distinctive appearance helping define their image.

Ironically, however, Beard was the odd man out when it came to facial hair.

Beard explained that he actually had a beard earlier in his career in the documentary ZZ Top: That Little Ol’ Band from Texas. But when ZZ Top reunited after a period apart, Gibbons and Hill had grown considerably larger beards.

Beard decided to shave his.

“I had a beard, but it wasn’t (even) near the beard they had,” he recalled. “So I shaved it pretty right after we got back together when I saw they (had much more beard than I had).”

Gibbons apparently wasn’t bothered by the irony. In fact, he saw an upside to his bandmate being the only clean-shaven member.

“Frank didn’t mind being beardless,” Gibbons said, noting that Beard could still go to the shopping mall without being interrupted.

The facial-hair contrast eventually became part of ZZ Top’s identity. Gibbons and Hill became famous for their extraordinarily long beards, while Beard’s name provided an amusing counterpoint.

And despite not sharing the band’s signature look, Beard remained behind the drum kit for more than five decades, helping anchor the band’s blues-rock sound on songs including “La Grange,” “Tush,” “Sharp Dressed Man” and “Legs.”

ZZ Top was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2004.

Beard’s death was announced Aug. 18. He died in hospice care at his ranch in Richmond, Texas, surrounded by family. The cause of death has not been disclosed.

3. ‘The One with the Blackout’ (Season 1)

In Season 1, Friends gave fans their first real taste of the self-deprecating humor that would become Chandler Bing’s trademark for the next decade. In “The One With the Blackout,” he gets trapped in an ATM vestibule with Victoria’s Secret model Jill Goodacre when a citywide blackout hits New York.

Starstruck and nervous, he fumbles his way through their time together, unsure whether to call the outside of the bank a vestibule or an atrium. It’s one of Chandler’s most delightfully chaotic moments, and a perfect example of how far he’d go to keep his cool under pressure. Of course, keeping his cool never quite worked out.

This episode was Perry’s favorite, per PEOPLE Magazine. “The interesting thing about that episode was I didn’t speak much; it was mostly in voiceover,” Perry told Entertainment Weekly in 2004, as reported by PEOPLE. “We prerecorded what I said, and I had to react.”

2. ‘The One with All the Rugby’ (Season 4)

In Season 4, Chandler reunited with his on-again, off-again ex Janice (Maggie Wheeler) and, desperate to avoid getting pulled back into their relationship, tells her he’s being transferred to Yemen for work. The lie backfires spectacularly when Janice insists on helping him pack and refuses to leave his side until he’s actually boarded the plane.

Few running bits are as hilarious as Chandler’s increasingly absurd attempts to dodge Janice, and this one remains the gold standard. The bit ends with him boarding the plane and asking an older woman if he could stay with her when he arrives in the country.

1. ‘The One with the Proposal, Part 2‘ (Season 6)

Chandler spends the second part of “The One With The Proposal” pretending he’s not ready for marriage. However, in the Season 6 episode, he’s been secretly planning to ask Monica to marry him. It backfires beautifully. However, convinced he’s not serious about their future, Monica decides to propose to him first.

She gets down on one knee, but the moment overwhelms her, and she can’t get the words out, so Chandler gently takes over and finishes. Through tears, he tells her she makes him happier than he ever thought he could be, and it remains one of the most quietly devastating, tender moments the show has ever given fans.

Shakira, often referred to as the “queen of Latin music,” is using her influence for a good cause with a major move to help her home country.

Following the devastating 7.4-magnitude earthquake that struck Colombia, the pop star is showing her full support for efforts to rebuild schools that were severely affected by the disaster.

In an Instagram post, the 49-year-old singer shared her experience as she personally visited the affected area in Quibdó, the capital of the department of Chocó, where roughly 40 schools were destroyed by the disaster.

Shakira also met educators, students and Chocó’s governor, Nubia Carolina Córdoba, as well as Quibdó’s mayor, Rafael Bolaños, to better understand the region’s needs.

In a social media update, the Colombian singer pledged to donate a combined $1 million through $500,000 from FIFA Global Citizen Education Fund and $500,000 from Live Nation contribution to support education in the country.

In addition, the four-time Grammy winner will make a separate donation using her personal resources to help rebuild the Technological University of Quibdó.

Lastly, she also encouraged the public to register and “join in the effort to help our kids through this crisis.”

The comment section was filled with gratitude from fans, thanking Shakira for her support and concern for the victims.

Moreover, Colombians also expressed how proud they are of the award-winning singer for setting a good example.

Shakira aims to help poor and vulnerable children in Colombia, and she is doing so through her own charity, Barefoot Foundation (or Fundación Pies Descalzos in Spanish), which she launched in 1997 at the age of 18.

The organization’s focus is to provide daily meals, clothing and psychological support, as well as build public schools to provide children with better access to education.

That announcement? The revival of the Yeti that hasn’t worked for years on Expedition Everest – Legend of the Forbidden Mountain at Walt Disney World’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. During the star-studded Disney Experiences panel, Disney finally announced it would be working to repair the massive Audio-Animatronics figure of the Yeti that used to swipe its gargantuan claws at riders as they reached the finale of the ride. 

During the Horizons: A Carousel of Progress Disney Experiences panel, Thomas Mazloum, Chairman, Disney Experiences, excitedly exclaimed, “We’re bringing the Yeti back to life inside Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!”

As the crowd cheered, a disco ball lowered into the Honda Center arena, and thousands of Disney fans were treated to a live performance of “I Will Survive” by the iconic Gloria Gaynor. This was obviously a nod to Disney fans’ nickname for the frozen Yeti Audio-Animatronics figure, Disco Yeti. The name was given thanks in part to the strobe light placed near the Yeti to make it look more ominous, even though it was no longer moving. 

The approximately 25-foot-tall Yeti inside Expedition Everest was one of Disney’s most complex Audio-Animatronics created by Walt Disney Imagineering at the time. Former Imagineer Joe Rohde has said in the past that the issue has never been that there are no solutions to fix the Yeti; it’s more about timing and opportunity.

In an X post from 2023, he said, “The issue is a complex interface between finance, operations, marketing, design, timing, engineering, narrative, and guest satisfaction. All of these need to line up to make a viable solution. There are solutions. There are not opportunities.”

Now that Disney is getting ready to add three new attractions to Disney’s Animal Kingdom with the opening of Tropical Americas, it seems the operations and timing side of the Yeti problem may be fixed thanks to an increase in the park’s attraction capacity.

Currently, Disney’s Animal Kingdom only offers six rides and two shows. Once Tropical Americas opens, the park will have nine rides, including new attractions themed to Indiana Jones and Encanto.

Disney did not share a timeline for Expedition Everest’s closure or when the Yeti will come alive again.

Released in 1977, it was the second single off their album of the same name and is best known for its two-minute and 12-second electric guitar solo played between Don Felder and Joe Walsh.

However, “Hotel California” was almost named something completely different due to its influences from Latin and reggae music. Felder, who wrote all the music for the song, explained the creative process to MusicRadar in 2012.

“I would write track ideas — introductions, verses, choruses, solos — and I’d put them on a cassette and give them to Don and Glenn. I did this with the songs for ‘Hotel California,’ and I said, ‘If there’s anything you like on these cassettes and you want to finish writing, let’s do that,’ he shared. “Henley said, ‘I like that song that sounds like a Mexican reggae or Bolero.’ So he liked the one that became ‘Hotel California.'”

So, the first working title for “Hotel California” was actually “Mexican Reggae.” They went on to name the song after the album, which was inspired by the band’s drive into The Golden State.

“Nobody was from California, and if you drive into L.A. at night […] you can just see this glow on the horizon of lights, and the images that start running through your head of Hollywood and all the dreams that you have, and so it was kind of about that […] what we started writing the song about,” Felder added.

The song went on to reach No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, win the Grammy for Record of the Year in 1978, and is widely regarded as one of the best rock songs of all time.

Don Henley, who wrote the lyrics for “Hotel California,” opened up about the song’s true meaning in an interview with CBS News in 2016.

“Well, I always say, it’s a journey from innocence to experience. It’s not really about California; it’s about America,” Henley explained. “It’s about the dark underbelly of the American dream. It’s about excess, it’s about narcissism. It’s about the music business. It’s about a lot of different…. It can have a million interpretations.”

Singer-songwriter Cody Simpson will perform the Australian National Anthem at the first-ever NFL Melbourne Game, while American rock band Infinity Song will sing the U.S. National Anthem before the San Francisco 49ers face the Los Angeles Rams.

The NFL announced the performers on Instagram, adding another major music moment to the historic game scheduled for Sept. 11, at Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).

The game will stream live on Netflix at 10:35 a.m. AEST on Sept. 11, which is 8:35 p.m. ET on Sept. 10 in the United States.

Simpson said he is excited to take part in the first regular-season NFL game played on Australian soil.

“As both a proud Aussie and proud Californian, I’m excited to be singing the Australian National Anthem at the upcoming first-ever regular season NFL game played on Australian soil,” Simpson said in a press release, per UPI.

The singer also pointed to his connection to both Australia and the United States. He said he grew up between the two countries, has followed the NFL for years and has attended sporting events at the MCG.

He added that he is especially excited to watch the Los Angeles Rams, calling them his local team.

Simpson’s selection gives him another chance to perform the Australian National Anthem at a major sporting event in Melbourne.

In 2022, he performed the anthem at the Lexus Melbourne Cup and the AFL Women’s Grand Final. He also performed “The Christmas Song” at Carols by Candlelight in Melbourne that year.

His NFL Melbourne appearance comes during another busy period in his music career.

Simpson returned to music after stepping away from competitive swimming. According to Rolling Stone Australia, he had pursued swimming seriously after moving back to Australia and later earned a place on the Australian National Team.

He competed at the 2022 Commonwealth Games, where he helped Australia win gold in the men’s 4×100-meter freestyle relay and silver in the men’s 4×100-meter medley relay.

After narrowly missing the Australian Olympic team for the 2024 Paris Games, Simpson returned his attention to music.

In 2026, he signed a new record deal with BMG and began releasing new music. His recent releases include “Baby Blue,” “When It Comes to Loving You” and “Fluent.”

The anthem performances are only part of the entertainment planned for the Melbourne NFL event.

The Jonas Brothers were previously announced as the halftime performers. Nick Jonas, Joe Jonas and Kevin Jonas will headline the halftime show during the game.

The cast of A Beautiful Noise: The Neil Diamond Musical will also perform Neil Diamond’s “Sweet Caroline” during one of the game breaks. The musical is currently playing in Melbourne through Nov. 7.

The NFL Melbourne Game will feature the 49ers and Rams in the league’s first regular-season game in Australia. The event is being held with the Victorian State Government and Visit Victoria.

The game is also part of the NFL’s expanded international schedule for 2026.

When the rumor mill got too personal, Parton did what she does best: she picked up her guitar and wrote a song about it. Now, the country icon is looking back on the moment she decided enough was enough, and why, even decades later, she has no regrets about calling out the tabloids on her own terms.

In a new Substack post, Parton reveals that even her most frustrating brushes with the tabloids found their way into her songwriting.

“Shattered Image” was written by the country superstar in the mid-1970s in response to the tabloid stories. But what pushed Parton too far was when her family and friends were targeted.

She explained, “I think ‘Shattered Image’ is a song that so many people relate to, especially in show business. Because it’s more about how, well, you don’t have to be in show business for somebody to shatter your image or ruin your reputation. But when I wrote that song, that was back during the early days when I was just really not used to people saying bad things about me, especially if they weren’t true.”

She continued, “Some of them are true. And a lot of those stories in the tabloids, like I’ve always said, they’re based on some thread of truth, but usually it’s so frayed by the time they get done with it, you don’t hardly even recognize it.”

“But I don’t mind so much what they say about me as much as it hurts other people, and I hate that. I can handle it myself by saying what I say, doing what I do, and saying I don’t deny nor admit anything. But when they drag other people into it,” the country legend clarified.

She wrote, “But that ‘Shattered Image,’ you know, it’s like: ‘I used to sit for hours as a kid and dangle my feet from an old flat bridge, seeing myself in the water below, shattering my image with the stones I’d throw. A long time gone and a long time ago, when I shattered my image with the stones I’d throw. The world is cruel, and people are cold. Now they shatter my image with the stones they throw.’”

Parton concluded, “And I really think it’s like, ‘I’m far from perfect, but I ain’t all bad. And it hurts me more than it makes me mad. We all do things that we don’t want told. And we all throw stones that we shouldn’t throw.’”

Her 2020 book, Dolly Parton, Songteller: My Life in Lyrics, traced the origins of some of her most beloved songs. Part memoir, part songbook, it blended the life fans saw on stage with the personal history that inspired it.

“In my opinion, a balcony cabin is non-negotiable,” says Fora Advisor Julie Crotts. “Travelers in their 60s use the cabin more than they expect: for a rest before dinner, coffee before the ship wakes up, or on a port day they decide to skip. A balcony turns that downtime into part of the vacation instead of being confined to a dark room.”

Fellow Fora Advisor Lisa Roah agrees that mature voyagers are increasingly prioritizing comfort: “I find that most of my older clients want all these options—if they are taking the cruise, they want to do it right!”

Skipping an exterior view is the most frequent source of buyer’s remorse.

“Nobody has ever told me they regretted paying for a balcony. However, I hear the opposite constantly,” Crotts notes. “This usually occurs somewhere around day three, from a couple in an interior cabin who assumed they’d never be in the cabin. Trust me, you will spend more time in the cabin than you think, even if you are an active traveler.”

Roah adds that experienced travelers rarely look backward: “So far, my mature cruisers typically opt for the suites or concierge level.”

The Surprising Upgrade That Matters

While sweeping ocean views get all the glory, the functional layout of the cabin’s bathroom is where upgrades pay off most in daily comfort.

“A larger bathroom because storage is often overlooked,” Crotts emphasizes. “Travelers in this group tend to arrive with a full home routine that includes skincare, supplements, or home medical devices. A standard cruise bathroom offers one small shelf and a mirror cabinet, making storage space a premium. Additionally, two people getting ready for the same dinner reservation in that space gets old quickly. Upgrading to more cabin space, but specifically in the bathroom, provides a big boost to quality-of-life.”

Roah highlights that premium touches make a noticeable impact: “Clients like a tub option and a butler/concierge service.”

Running the Math on Suites

Before writing off a suite or concierge-level cabin as an extravagance, experts recommend doing simple vacation math.

“Price the upgrade against what you’d buy anyway,” Crotts advises. “Most suite and concierge tiers bundle in things people purchase separately like drink packages, Wi-Fi, specialty dining, or priority boarding. Add those up at their standalone cost. I’ve had plenty of clients where the upgrade costs less than buying the pieces à la carte, making it an easy yes.”

Splurging on an upgraded tier is also a game-changer when sailing with extended family on mega-resort ships.

“If the family has chosen a ship built for a broad age range, like Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, then paying up for a suite changes the trip,” Crotts explains. “You get a private area to retreat to, more exclusive dining, and a way to step away from the parts of the ship geared toward younger families. You’re still together for everything that matters; you just aren’t trapped in the middle of it.”

Roah points directly to ship-within-a-ship concepts: “On Norwegian, the Haven is absolutely worth the upgrade.”

Whole Foods is one of my favorite places to shop for produce. Although the store tends to get flack for high prices (seriously, I never need to hear a “Whole Paycheck” joke ever again), there are a few parts of the store where you actually can find really good deals—including the produce section.

Whichever Whole Foods I go to, I can always count on the produce section to have plenty of options, ranging from the basics like apples and broccoli to items I’d only buy on special occasions, like dragon fruit and trumpet mushrooms.

Something else I love about Whole Foods’ produce section is how much of it is package-free. I prefer to buy loose produce as much as possible, as it reduces packaging waste as well as food waste (since you can buy the exact amount of carrots you need, rather than a huge bag of carrots that will ultimately lead to wasted food). So for certain items that are typically sold in plastic packaging, I can often rely on Whole Foods to have a “naked” option.

1. Medium Hass Avocado

2. Organic Cauliflower Florets

Cauliflower is one of those veggies that’s near impossible to find without packaging—and even when you do, cutting up a cauliflower is pretty challenging, not to mention messy. So, when I’m in the mood for some cauli, I often opt for the Organic Cauliflower Florets, which are washed and ready to use.

3. Hippie Organics Organic Asparagus

In some stores, bundles of asparagus are huge—and maybe it’s just because I live alone, but I would never be able to eat all that asparagus in a week! The Grapery Cotton Candy Grapes are only in season for a few weeks every year, typically between August and September. So whenever I see them at Whole Foods, you better believe they are going into my basket. If you’ve never had cotton candy grapes before, prepare to be amazed, as they really do taste like cotton candy. They’re one of the sweetest fruits I’ve ever tasted and they’re absolutely addictive.

The only drawback is the price. The bag I grabbed at Whole Foods today wound up costing me more than $10! That said, I just ate a bowl of them and I have no regrets.

6. Gotham Greens Butterhead Lettuce

As a resident of New York City, I love when I come across locally-grown produce in big-box stores—and I can often rely on finding Gotham Greens Butterhead Lettuce at my local Whole Foods. The company grows its lettuce in hydroponic greenhouses in New York (as well as a few other states across the country), which use less water, land and energy than conventional farming, per Gotham Greens.

7. Organic Turmeric Root

Finding fresh turmeric in a grocery store is a rarity, but Whole Foods often has Organic Turmeric Root in stock. Turmeric has incredible health benefits—namely, it is anti-inflammatory and an antioxidant.

Many doctors will recommend turmeric to patients dealing with inflammation, and interestingly, they often recommend eating turmeric (either fresh or ground) rather than supplementing it, per Johns Hopkins Medicine.

Plus, turmeric adds a gorgeous yellow color to your food, making it a vital ingredient for making tofu scramble, one of my go-to breakfasts.

5 Whole Foods Produce Items Not Worth Buying

Here are five Whole Foods produce items I usually skip.

1. 365 Broccoli Florets

Unlike its hardier cousin the cauliflower, whole broccoli is super simple to cut up. So when I’m shopping for broccoli at Whole Foods, I always opt for the loose broccoli crowns instead of the 365 Broccoli Florets. Plus, the florets are cut quite large—so when I have bought this bag in the past, I wound up getting out a knife and cutting board anyway so I could make the florets smaller.

2. Pop Its Bite-Sized Cucumbers

The cucumber shelves in a produce aisle are typically filled with plastic packaging, and Whole Foods is no exception. It’s valid that plastic wrap can keep cucumbers fresh longer, and help customers reduce food waste. However, novelty cucumbers like the Pop Its Bite-Sized Cucumbers seem pretty wasteful, in terms of both packaging and money. Personally, I prefer to buy package-free cucumbers within two days of when I plan to use them, which ensures they stay fresh.

3. Sunset Organics Biologiques Bell Peppers

Whenever I take home a mixed bag of bell peppers, I find myself ignoring the ones that aren’t red and letting them rot in the back of my fridge. Personally, I think red bell peppers taste eons better than the orange, yellow and green ones, so for me, it’s not worth buying a mixed bag like the Sunset Organics Biologiques Bell Peppers. So when I’m craving a plate of bell peppers to go with my hummus, I just buy a few loose red bell peppers instead of a bag.

4. Watermelon Quarter

Look, I get it. Cutting up a whole watermelon is annoying. But man oh man, is it worth it. So whenever I want watermelon, I try to buy the smallest whole watermelon I can find, and I wait to cut it until just before I’m ready to eat or serve it.

5. Organic Yellow Onion Bag

Maybe it’s just my singleness talking, but who on earth needs this many onions?! Personally, I like to choose each onion I buy based on exactly how much onion I’d like to use in a recipe, so I always skip the bagged onions.

The campaign arrives as Panera launches a revamped MyPanera rewards program nationwide on Aug. 19, giving its more than 70 million members a new way to earn and redeem points.

Rather than earning rewards through a traditional punch-card-style system, members now earn 10 points for every $1 spent and can choose how to redeem those points on Panera menu items.

Rewards start at 250 points, which can be redeemed for a free bagel or mini bakery treat. Members can also save up to 2,000 points for a full entrée of their choice.

And there’s an incentive for members to start earning right away.

To celebrate the launch, new and existing MyPanera members can earn 500 bonus points with their first purchase from Aug. 19 through Sept. 1. That’s enough points for a free Energy Refresher or Fresca.

For a limited time, MyPanera members will also get exclusive access to the new Tropical Mango Pineapple Energy Refresher in the Panera app, which launches alongside the refreshed rewards program.

The new program also includes three membership tiers: the free MyPanera program, MyPanera+ for guests who spend $300 in a calendar year and unlock additional perks, and MyPanera+ Sip Club, which includes MyPanera+ benefits along with up to 30 select beverages per month and additional offers.

The Cyrkle were a young band from the 1960’s who had only a few hit tracks that gained them fame, like “Red Rubber Ball,” which was the work of Paul Simon and Bruce Woodley.

There’s quite some backstory behind the band’s major track that landed them at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and topped the charts in Canada. The track was a commercial success and was first introduced to the public when performed on the US TV program Hullabaloo, and became their defining record.

In the 60s, The Cyrkle were still a relatively new band that had yet to release any of their own material. When they landed a record contract with Columbia Records, they joined Brian Epstein under his management. It’s reported that it was one of the Beatles who came up with the band’s unique spelling of their name. It just so happens that the band would hit a snag when guitarist and lead singer Don Dannemann was informed to complete his commitment to the U.S. Coast Guard. As a result, the band went on hiatus.

According to BestClassicBands, member Tom Dawes took up an offer to tour as the bassist for the hit duo Simon & Garfunkel. It was during his time on tour that The Cyrkle was offered “Red Rubber Ball.” In reality, Simon had developed the track alongside Woodley of the band The Seekers, having met him while pursuing his solo career. “Red Rubber Ball” was originally offered to Woodley’s band, but they rejected it

While on tour, Dawes heard Simon playing the track and was interested, with Simon admitting he had no plans other than to record it with Garfunkel. By the time The Cyrkle regrouped in 1966, they were ready to record a hit track.

“It came to us on a scratchy 45, just Paul singing it with a guitar,” Dannemann said, according to Noise11. “Tommy Dawes heard it and said, ‘This is a cute song’. We all listened and thought, ‘Yeah, let’s try it’.”

 “It was the organ lead, the guitar line, my lead vocal and Tommy’s harmony. That combination was The Cyrkle sound. If you heard it, you knew it was us.”

For Dannemann, he often forgot that “Red Rubber Ball” was written by both Simon and Woodley. He found it amazing that Woodley was originally a native Australian and found himself in England, where Simon lived, to create the track. “Red Rubber Ball” would end up being a major meal ticket for The Cyrkle in the ’60s when they were selected to join the Beatles on their final North American tour as their opening act.

The song would end up becoming a staple throughout the 60s, as Neil Diamond released his own cover that same year, as well as the Seekers. Del Shannon, Cliff Richard, and Mel Tormé were among the many artists who released their own versions.

In the 1970s, ABBA found worldwide success with hits such as “Dancing Queen,” “Waterloo,” and “Fernando.” But as the Swedish pop group was entering its final chapter in 1982, band member Anni-Frid Lyngstad, aka Frida, was making her mark as a solo artist.

Frida’s third solo album Something’s Going On featured a major pop hit, fueled by a music video heavily featured on the then-new MTV.

Written by Argent lead singer Russ Ballard, “I Know There’s Something Going On” was driven by Phil Collins’ thunderous drum track and a darker edge that was worlds away from ABBA’s polished pop sound. Ballard penned lyrics about a relationship falling apart—an especially personal subject for Frida, who had recently divorced her husband and ABBA bandmate Benny Anderson.

The song became a worldwide hit and reached No. 13 on the Billboard Hot 100, cementing Frida as a bona fide solo star in the music video era.

Ballard was known as the lead singer and guitarist for the ‘70s rock band Argent, but he was also a prolific songwriter, penning classics for bands such as Rainbow and Three Dog Night.

In an interview with Best Classic Bands, Ballard revealed that he wrote “I Know There’s Something Going On” very quickly.

“To write that whole thing took about an hour,” the musician said. “That’s not bad. I think the best songs of mine have been really, really quick songs.”

While the song was written by Ballard, Collins was brought in to play drums and produce the album. Frida had been determined to get the Genesis legend to help her.

Speaking with the Dutch magazine Weekend, Frida recalled that her daughter introduced her to Collins’ 1981 single “In the Air Tonight.”

“I thought that was a marvelous record,” she shared. “Soon after that I bought his album Face Value. When I had listened to that, I was determined to contact him for a possible collaboration. When I called him eventually with the proposition to produce my solo album and play the drums as well, he was enthusiastic immediately.”

“The result has become totally different from the ABBA-sound, but that was my intention,” Frida added. “For me, it was essential to create my own sound and, despite the fact that I worked with different musicians and in totally different circumstances, I think I succeeded.”

Frida’s Something’s Going On was recorded in February and March of 1982 at Polar Studios in Sweden, according to a post on Collins’ Facebook page. In addition to Collins, musicians such as Daryl Stuermer, Mo Foster, the Martyn Ford Orchestra, Gavyn Wright, Skaila Kanga and the Phenix Horns contributed to the tracks.

Recording the album was freeing for Frida during a transitional period in her life.

“Within ABBA I had to sing the songs that Benny or Björn [Ulvaeus] wrote,” she told Good Morning America in 1982. “But in this case I could choose myself what I wanted to do. From my heart, actually what I wanted to sing, what I wanted to have on the album. Of course, it’s different sound-wise because Phil Collins produced it, and he is also playing the drums.”

Nearly 45 years later, “I Know There’s Something Going On” remains one of Frida’s best-known solo recordings, a pop-rock hit with an irresistible hook that helped make it a timeless classic.
