It’s really the dream of anyone who has ever picked up a guitar: to eventually play a solo that leaves jaws dropped, heads banging, and faces absolutely rocked. The guitar solo is perhaps the heart of rock and roll, and according to a new list by Rolling Stone, the king of the guitar solo wasn’t a king, but a prince.

Rolling Stone published its list of “100 Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time” on May 4. Starting with AC/DC’s “You Shook Me All Night Long” at No. 100, the list had some relative newcomers (Geese’s “Getting Killed” from 2025 at No. 98), classic guitar slingers (Les Paul and Mary Ford’s “How High The Moon”), and expected appearances from guitar gods like Steve Vai, Frank Zappa, Joe Satriani, Bonnie Raitt, B.B. King, and Sister Rosetta Tharpe.

But, at the top of the rankings is Prince’s “Purple Rain,” the title track from his epic 1984 movie.

According to Rolling Stone, Prince and The Revolution birthed the song on Aug. 3, 1983, at Minneapolis’ First Avenue. "Prince wrung a solo from his guitar that felt more like a moving cry of the soul than a musical spotlight,” writes Kory Grow. “It’s the first time they played it live, and it’s the version on Purple Rain. Prince’s guitar prowess was well documented by that point, but the fluidity of his phrasing on the song and the way he pinched his strings for notes that ascended heavenward spoke more about what ‘Purple Rain’ meant than his obtuse lyrics.”

“Purple Rain” is the title track from the 1984 album of the same name, which also served as the soundtrack to the film released that year.

“Purple Rain” continues to hold a presence in the music world, even ten years after Prince’s untimely passing. Most recently, it was used in a climactic moment in the final season of Stranger Things.

Fans could easily argue that the songs that fill out the rest of the Top 10 could each be considered the best solo ever. The Beatles’ “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” was ranked high, coming in at No. 10. Described as “the most legendary of Beatles solos,” despite being played by George Harrison’s best friend, Eric Clapton.

Eddie Hazel’s work on Funkadelic’s “Maggot Brain” comes in at No. 9, with Rolling Stone’s describing the funk legend as conjuring “a sense of perseverance, rising phoenix-like from the ashes of his echo pedals in the final minutes.”

Larry Carton’s work on Steely Dan’s “Kid Charlemagne” is No. 8. Jimmy Page’s solo on Led Zeppelin’s “Stairway to Heaven” is No. 7. Chuck Berry’s “Johnny B. Goode” is No. 6.

The rest of the Top 5 are: Eddie Van Halen’s legendary tapping on Van Halen’s “Eruption”; David Gilmour’s “transcendent” solo on Pink Floyd’s “Comfortably Numb”; Joe Walsh and Don Felder’s dueling guitars on the Eagles’ “Hotel California”; and Jimi Hendrix’s “Machine Gun,” from the 1970 live album, Band of Gypsys.

In 1984, a film starring one of music's most enigmatic icons redefined what a rock movie could be.

Purple Rain, featuring Prince, has been ranked the greatest rock and roll movie of all time by Consequence, a recognition that speaks to its lasting influence on both film and music.

Part drama, part musical and entirely driven by Prince's creative vision, Purple Rain follows "The Kid," a rising musician navigating fame, relationships and personal turmoil. The story captures familiar dynamics of the music world: band tensions, rivalries and the pressure to balance artistic integrity with commercial success.

Director Albert Magnoli's first encounter with Prince set the stage for what would become an iconic piece of cinema. "After I told him the story [of the film], he got very quiet and he said, 'Let's take a ride,'" Magnoli told The Current. "After about 10 minutes of silence, [Prince] said "How do you know me?" and 'I said I know you from 'Little Red Corvette,' the video, and the album '1999,' that's about it.' and he said "how is it, then that you tell me my life story in 10 minutes?"

Prince gave Magnoli an impressive 100 original songs to listen to in consideration for the film. "The music had to inform the content and themes of the film,” Magnoli said in a 2014 interview. "Both things had to work in conjunction with each other. I wanted to avoid 'let's hear some music and get back to the story.'" Ultimately, the director narrowed it down to just 12 that made it into the film.

By the time the movie was released, Prince had already established himself as a major force in music. Yet, he remained something of a mystery. That tension between persona and reality added depth to his on-screen performance.

The film also reflects the emotional extremes that often fuel great music, from creative conflict with bandmates like Wendy and Lisa to intense rivalries and complicated relationships. These elements culminate in what many consider the film's defining moment: its final climactic musical sequence.

More than four decades later, Purple Rain continues to resonate, not just as a film, but as an iconic moment in pop culture.

The film's ranking as the greatest rock and roll movie of all time underscores Prince's legacy as one of music's most talented, eclectic and deeply enigmatic artists.

Pop icon Madonna, 67, stepped out for the 2026 Met Gala, completely owning the event's theme of "Costume Art" and the "Fashion Is Art" dress code. In fact, Madonna's entire Met Gala look and its gorgeous "performance" is based on a surreal 1945 work of art—and she makes a masterpiece of it.

The music icon shut down the stairs to New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art in a custom Saint Laurent look inspired by a 1945 painting titled "The Temptation of St. Anthony" by British-born Mexican surrealist Leonora Carrington. In particular, the inspiration is the witchy-looking woman poised with a ship atop her head and being protected by a coven of helpers. In her painting, Carrington puts her own personal and feminine lens and surreal style on the spiritual trials of St. Anthony.

Madonna and her "helpers" recreated the artwork's detail to a tee. The Queen of Pop wore a lacy gothic black Saint Laurent gown, long black satin gloves, platform booties, and a hat topped with a mystical haunted ship. Her long black tresses draped over the look, and a sheer gray veil poured from the headpiece, which required the assistance of seven helpers. She even carried the brass horn depicted in the painting.

Each of Madge's ethereal helpers donned lacy, floor-length gowns in an array of soft pastels. One added detail on her merry maids? Their translucent "blindfolds."

A 1971 dystopian crime drama that shocked audiences more than five decades ago was ranked among TIMES’ “Most Controversial Films of All Time.” 

A Clockwork Orange, directed by Stanley Kubrick, remains one of the boldest and most debated films ever made, known for its graphic violence, sexual content and unsettling message about control and free will.

Released in December 1971 in New York and early 1972 in the United Kingdom, the film quickly stirred strong reactions. Some praised its bold storytelling, while others were disturbed by its violent scenes. 

Over time, it was even restricted or banned in several places, including being voluntarily withdrawn from British cinemas for years. In the United States, it first received an X rating before being edited slightly to secure an R rating.

The film, based on A Clockwork Orange, follows Alex DeLarge, played by Malcolm McDowell, a young man who leads a gang and spends his nights committing crimes he calls “ultra-violence.” But after being arrested, Alex becomes the subject of an experimental treatment designed to stop him from being violent.

The controversy around the film is not just about what is shown on screen. It is also about what the story says. The film questions whether it is right to take away a person’s ability to choose between good and evil.

Kubrick himself described the story as “a social satire dealing with the question of whether behavioural psychology and psychological conditioning are dangerous new weapons for a totalitarian government.” This idea made many viewers uneasy, as it suggests that forcing someone to be “good” might actually be wrong.

The film’s central treatment method, called the Ludovico Technique, forces Alex to watch violent images while being physically unable to look away. Afterward, he becomes sick at the thought of violence, but also loses his free will. A prison chaplain in the film argues that true goodness must come from within, not from forced conditioning.

Critics were sharply divided. Film critic Roger Ebert once wrote, “A Clockwork Orange is an ideological mess,” while also describing its disturbing lead character in harsh terms. At the same time, other critics praised the film’s bold style and message, calling it “a brilliant and dangerous work.”

The film was also linked to real-life crimes at the time, with reports claiming it inspired copycat acts. This led to even more backlash and contributed to its removal from theaters in some countries.

Despite its troubled past, A Clockwork Orange did not disappear. Instead, it slowly gained a cult following. Over the years, many critics began to see it as an important piece of cinema that raises serious questions about society, power, and human behavior.

In fact, the film is now recognized as culturally significant. It was added to the U.S. National Film Registry in 2020 for being “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant.” It also earned four Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture.

Today, the film holds strong ratings from modern audiences. On Rotten Tomatoes, it has an 86% critic score and a 93% audience score, showing that many viewers still find it powerful and thought-provoking.

TIME’s inclusion of the film among the “Most Controversial Films of All Time” highlights how its impact has not faded. Even decades later, the story of Alex and his forced “rehabilitation” still feels relevant. It raises a simple but powerful question: Is it better to choose to be good, or to be forced into it?

Daytime Emmy winner Eileen Davidson has been a fabric of daytime television since her debut on The Young and the Restless in 1982 as the headstrong heroine Ashley Abbott. Now, Davidson is reflecting on how the topical storylines that the show once told truly impacted her life and the lives of the viewers.

Davidson is set to appear on the SOAPY podcast, with host Greg Rikkaart and Rebecca Budig, to discuss her time in daytime television, where she has appeared on multiple shows, including Days of Our Lives, The Young and the Restless, and The Bold and the Beautiful.

During the conversation, Davidson recalled how in 2002, her character of Ashley Abbott in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, was diagnosed with breast cancer. “God bless the writers on the show,” Davidson shared. “They did a lot of topical stuff.”

The actress shared that soaps may not push as many topical social issues today, “but they did at that time,” she recalled.

Under creator and head writer Bill Bell, the series was known for telling hot-button storylines, such as tackling the AIDS crisis, or having characters, such as Ashley, have an abortion, in a time when that was not common practice.

Reflecting on the breast cancer storyline itself, Davidon shared that as it aired, she began receiving fan mail explaining that the story “saved their lives.”

Davidson shared how women began getting screened, and they were able to detect a lump or tumor early. “They're still living because of it.”

Due to the show's international appeal, Davidson continued to get fan mail for years from viewers as the show's storyline continued to impact women around the world. “So you realize that what you're doing, I mean, it's entertainment and it's fun and everything, it's crazy and it's a hoot, but you really are helping people on a different level that you can't even really begin to understand,” she shared.

She explained that, as actors, and particularly soap actors, they get to help viewers in many different ways. “We help in many, many ways by entertaining, getting people through difficult times, kids through difficult times in their homes, their home life.” She went on to explain how she’s heard from fans in abusive situations where watching The Young and the Restless was described as “their one sanctuary.”

Ultimately, Davidson shares, “You know, to watch us and to be entertained by us, they felt safe. We were predictable,” and as a result, the connection that viewers feel to this genre in particular is unlike any other, and Davidson ultimately recognizes the value that the art form has.

The Black Queen has some exciting news for their fans.

In a post shared to Instagram on Monday morning, the Los Angeles-based electronic rock supergroup revealed that drummer Chris Pennie will be joining them throughout their tour celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album, Fever Daydream.

"Some of you will understand the significance of this. Please explain it to those who don’t. He’s been with us behind the scenes for a while, but starting in Boston, with the exception of Montreal and Toronto, and for all shows going forward after that, we will have a new member onstage with us," The Black Queen wrote as their caption. "His name is Chris Pennie. Yes he will be playing drums."

Pennie, 48, began playing drums when he was 13-years-old. After playing in various local bands in New Jersey throughout high school and graduating from the Berklee College of Music, he created Dillinger Escape Plan in March 1997 with Ben Weinman, Dimitri Minakakis and Adam Doll, playing as their drummer for a decade. Afterwards, he began working with the rock band Coheed and Cambria, before they parted ways in 2011.

Formed in Los Angeles in 2015 by Greg Puciato of The Dillinger Escape Plan, Joshua Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv and Nine Inch Nails, and Steven Alexander of The Dillinger Escape Plan and Nine Inch Nails, the electroic supergroup self-released their debut album, Fever Daydream, which includes their hits such as "The End Where We Start" and "Ice to Never." Two years later, they released their sophomore album, Infinite Games, under the label Federal Prisoner with Jessie Draxler.

The group announced earlier this year that they would be going on tour around North America to celebrate the 10th anniversary of their debut album. The lineup of concerts is expected to start this Thursday in Seattle and conclude in Dallas on June 6. They will also be making stops in Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Boston, New York City, Toronto, Chicago and more. Special guests include Amulets, Reba Meyers, Holy Water, Doves, Georgi, There Is No Us, More Ephemoral, Ghost Cop, Trace Amount, ClubDrugs and Black Magnet.

"As anyone into The Black Queen knows, we've been dormant for a minute," Puciato said. "A lot of things ended up on the front burner and suddenly seven years had gone by, and 10 years since Fever Daydream's release. Fever Daydream was really special and we know it meant a lot to fans as well. So we figured, let's get some grease on us and get some of that mojo back before releasing our third album. Maybe we'll toss some new songs in as well. See you soon."

The Elimination Challenge dishes were then picked right after they signed up for the Quickfire. They picked in reverse order for this one. The courses were:

• Raw: Jonathan made steak tartare with egg yolk emulsion, cornichon chimichurri, crispy shallots and a toasted baguette slice.
• Salad: Anthony made heirloom tomato and watermelon salad with a little crab.
• Soup: Laurence made chicken and corn egg drop soup with marinated bok choy.
• Seafood: Sherry made poblano peppers stuffed with lobster mousseline and corn ragu with salsa verde.
• Grain: Duyen made seafood rice with an herb salad and dashi beurre monte.
• Poultry: Sieger made chicken vesuvio with pea & parmesan puree and potatoes.
• Red meat: Oscar made short rib sancocho with yuca, butternut squash, carrots and rice.
• Dessert: Rhoda made Eton Mess, which is meringue with whipped creme fraiche, macerated berries and lemon pith.

In the end, the Quickfire winner was Anthony, so he won $10,000. The top dishes from the Elimination Challenge went to Laurence and Jonathan, while the bottom two were Rhoda and Oscar, which was very obvious just from watching the dinner.

The winning dish was Laurence, who will get an advantage next week. The chef eliminated from the competition was Oscar.

Beyoncé made the 2026 Met Gala a family affair. The iconic performer, who is also one of this year's co-chairs, brought two very special dates to the event—her husband, Jay-Z, and her daughter, Blue Ivy Carter.

At just 14 years old, Blue Ivy was one of the youngest guests. Going to the Gala means following the rules. And while this special night is usually limited to adults ages 18 and up, it looks like things have changed this year. Not only did Beyoncé and Jay-Z bring their teenager, but actress Nicole Kidmanalso took her 17-year-old daughter, Sunday Rose.

So what did Beyoncé’s teen wear to the ‘Costume Art’ themed event? Judging by the pics, no one would ever guess Blue Ivy is only 14. The celeb looks amazingly adult in a stunning white strapless Pierpaolo Piccioli for Balenciaga gown, an unzipped white jacket, and a pair of shades. 

Ever the proud mommy, Beyoncé told Vogue (during the magazine’s livestream), “It feels surreal because my daughter’s here.” She continued, “She looks so beautiful, it’s incredible to be able to share it with her.” And yes, we completely agree with Beyoncé that her daughter looks absolutely beautiful in the Balenciaga design. 

While Blue Ivy’s Met Gala debut certainly made this a special evening for the Carter family, it wasn’t the only notable first of the night. The 2026 event marks the first time Beyoncé has gone to the Gala in a decade. Despite being a seven-time attendee, the Grammy winner's last appearance on this red carpet was in 2016.

WNBA star and Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese arrived at this year's Met Gala in New York City wearing a gorgeous and old-Hollywood-inspired light pink trench coat gown by Altuzarra. Her hair was tied up into a bun, and she wore a pair of matching high heels and a diamond necklace to tie the look together.

She is one of the many athletes who walked the iconic Met steps on Monday evening, including Alysa Liu, Eileen Gu, Dwyane Wade, Lindsey Vonn, Naomi Osaka and Serena Williams. In addition, Venus Williams co-chaired the event, while fellow WNBA star A'ja Wilson and Paralympian Aimee Mullins served on the host committee.

"It's giving chic, it's giving baddie, it's giving grown," the 23-year-old athlete told Essence about her look on the Met Gala red carpet.

"I'm really confident within myself. No one can tell me I'm not that girl," she concluded. "I wake up every morning because I'm blessed, I'm grateful, I'm just so thankful for this life and being able to have this opportunity."

This is Reese's third Met Gala appearance since making her debut in 2024. In 2025, the former LSU and Chicago Sky player wore a black-and-white Thom Brone look, and the year prior, wore a custom mint-green 16Arlington gown by Marco Capaldo.

Reese, who will be turning 24 years old on Wednesday, has quickly become one of the WNBA's brightest stars, beginning her pro-career with the Sky before making the move to the Dream ahead of the WNBA season. Off the court, she's long been a fashion standout, making her runway debut at the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show last fall.

In a WNBA media session that took place on Monday morning, Reese told reporters that events like the Met Gala are one of the chances she takes advantage of to promote women's sports.

"It's just another expansion of women's sports and continuing to build our brand outside of just being a basketball player," Reese said. "This organization has continued to help me on a platform, being able to be a part of something that's special. So there are gonna be some WNBA players there tonight, and I'm excited to see [them], but that should just be the standard. And hopefully, you'll see more of them."

The 2026 Met Gala theme is "Costume Art," with the dress code of "Fashion is Art." This year's co-chairs include Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman, Venus Williams and former Editor-in-Chief of Vogue, Anna Wintour.

Just because somebody is a movie producer doesn't necessarily mean they always know what's destined to be a hit. As proof, we have the story of the title song from the 1966 classic film, Born Free. While the song ended up being so popular it went on to win the Oscar for Best Original Song in 1967, it almost got cut from the movie entirely.

Born Free tells the true tale of a couple who raise an orphaned lion cub, later releasing her into the wild. Written by John Barry and Don Black and sung by Matt Monro (otherwise known as "The Man with the Golden Voice"), the song reflects the movie's themes, but doesn't explicitly mention anything about lions:

"Born free, as free as the wind blows / As free as the grass grows / Born free to follow your heart / Live free and beauty surrounds you / The world still astounds you / Each time you look at a star"

Unfortunately, producer Sam Jaffe thought the song should have been more about big cats than freedom.

"The film was about lions, so the producers were determined that the song should be all about lions. I argued that it had to be about freedom. When you write a lyric, you look for the universal theme," Black told the Sunday Times in 2008, per Songfacts.

Black and Monro successfully fought for the song's inclusion in the film, and after it won the Oscar, the producer had a change of heart.

"He put his arm round my shoulder and said, 'Well, it does grow on you,'" Black recalled.

'Born Free' was based on a book by Joy Adamson

The movie Born Free was based on the book of the same name by wildlife activist Joy Adamson. Published in 1960, Born Free tells the story of how Joy and her husband George raised orphaned lion cub Elsa in Kenya and later reintroduced her successfully back into the wild. (Elsa went on to give birth to three cubs of her own.)

As The Telegraph reported, six million books translated into 25 languages were sold within a year of Born Free's publication. When the movie premiered in Leicester Square six years later, the audience included the Queen.

What McDonald's Menu Items Are Only Available Internationally?

It might sound a little unusual at first, but it's a staple in the Philippines—and this is exactly what the U.S. menu is missing.

It holds up just fine without the beef.

The bread is what sets it apart—it's lighter and a little sweeter than an English muffin, which changes the whole bite. This sandwich works any time of day, not just breakfast. Simple, but not boring. It's a nice switch from the standard breakfast sandwiches on U.S. menus.

10. Stroopwafel McFlurry (Netherlands)

This McFlurry mixes vanilla soft serve with chunks of stroopwafel, a Dutch cookie made with thin waffles and a caramel syrup filling. The pieces soften slightly in the ice cream, so you get a mix of chewy, crunchy and creamy in each bite. It's sweeter than the standard Oreo, but not over-the-top. At the American Idol 20th high school reunion, fan-favorite Idols from the class of 2006, along with special guests, returned as Dancing with the Stars pros brought some ballroom flair to the celebration, while America voted live for the Top 3 finalists.

Luke Bryan, Lionel Richie and Carrie Underwood were on hand to lend their voices to critique the Top 5 following their performances, and they were joined by guest judge Paula Abdul, who, along with Randy Jackson made an iconic return. Randy served as mentor to the Top 5 finalists.

Last season's American Idol winner Jamal Roberts popped in for a surprise performance of his new single, "Perfect for Me."

A new documentary about legendary heavy metal band Iron Maiden is set to hit theaters on May 7, 2026 and frontman Bruce Dickinson is making it clear: the band deliberately stepped back to let others tell their story.

Titled Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition, the film tracks the band’s five-decade journey, using rare archive footage and outside perspectives. Dickinson said the group wanted a hands-off approach to keep the story honest and fresh for viewers, especially those new to their music.

“When we knew there was going to be a documentary, the first thing was that we really didn't want to be involved in it in terms of editorial or whatever,” Dickinson said in an interview with Heavy. “You have to have a hands-off approach, because you want somebody to look at it and tell the story.”

The film arrives 51 years after the band formed in East London in 1975, marking a major milestone for one of the most successful rock acts in history.

Unlike many artist-led projects, Burning Ambition is not controlled by Iron Maiden themselves. Bassist Steve Harris also stressed that point, saying the documentary is “about us, but not by us.”

That decision shapes the tone of the film. According to Dickinson, it doesn’t try to please everyone or include every detail from the band’s long career.

“This documentary could be ten hours long, but then everybody would lose the will to live,” he joked. “So you've got to make the story concise.”

He added that fans may notice missing moments, but the goal is to create an accessible entry point.

“There are going to be fans who say, ‘Oh, they missed out this and what about that’ — yeah, sure,” Dickinson said. “But for people who don't know the story of Iron Maiden, this is a great introduction to the band.”

The singer also praised the film’s honesty.

“It is a bit warts and all, but I think that's great. There's nothing in there that I would want to change.”

Directed by Malcolm Venville and produced by Dominic Freeman, the documentary includes commentary from well-known admirers like actor Javier Bardem, Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich and Public Enemy’s Chuck D. Their insights highlight the band’s wide influence across music and culture.

Alongside promoting the film, Dickinson looked back on how he joined Iron Maiden in 1981 as their fourth singer, a moment that changed his life.

Before that, he performed with the band Samson. During one show, Iron Maiden opened for them. That was the first time he truly saw their potential.

“I went to watch them and I went, ‘Oh my God, this is incredible. Wow,’” Dickinson recalled. “My next thought was, ‘I need to sing for those guys.’”

That instinct soon became reality. His first performance with the band took place in Bologna, Italy, after a long road trip from London.

“We had to wait three days to do it,” he said. “At the time we thought we would do the show in Italy because nobody would review it down there. If it really sucks, it never happened.”

The gamble paid off. Dickinson’s debut album with the band, The Number of the Beast, helped push Iron Maiden to global fame.

The documentary release comes during a busy period for the band. Their ongoing Run For Your Lives world tour celebrates their 50th anniversary and includes more than 50 shows worldwide in 2026.

They are also set to headline a special event, EddFest, in England this July.

Over five decades, Iron Maiden has released 17 studio albums, sold over 100 million records, and performed nearly 2,500 concerts in 64 countries. Their influence continues to grow, even decades after their rise in the 1980s and ’90s.

Despite their massive success, Dickinson says the band still values authenticity over control, something clearly reflected in the new film.

“You can't really be fiddling about with that and going in every five minutes saying ‘change this’ or ‘I don't like that,’” he said. “None of that crap.”As Iron Maiden: Burning Ambition prepares for its limited theatrical run, fans and newcomers alike will get a rare, unfiltered look at one of heavy metal’s most enduring bands.

Olympic gold medalist Alysa Liu shared how she was inspired by her athletic form for his debut look at the Met Gala.

Liu attended her first Met Gala on Monday, May 4 where the theme for the night was "Costume Art" and the dress code "Fashion Is Art."

“I love the theme, especially as an athlete, because for me it’s all about the relationship with clothing and our bodies as an artistic medium,” Liu told Vogue. “I’m a figure skater — we are the winter artistic sport.”

The figure skater was styled by Katie Qian and was wearing a red strapless Louis Vuitton gown. Qian told Vogue that she felt the theme was "perfect" for Liu as “she is an elite athlete who uses her body every day in training and performance, and she is also a true artist when developing her programs."

Qian said Liu's gown was inspired by her athletic form in numerous ways. "We wanted Louis Vuitton to help us elegantly reference vascularity, cell structure and muscle tissue, which are reflected in the red hue as well as the detailed ruffles," Qian said.

She added, "It also happens to emulate the ways in which ice is carved when figure skating. The dress perfectly frames the feet and accentuates the curves, and we are thrilled with how it turned out."

Liu was named a house ambassador for Louis Vuitton ahead of her Met Gala debut. “It’s honestly surreal to be a house ambassador for Louis Vuitton,” Liu told Elle. “It’s truly an honor and a privilege, especially for a figure skater, to be recognized in this way, and I take so much pride in that.”

Liu earned a gold medal at the 2026 Milan Winter Olympics in the women's skating final. Liu's gold medal finished ended a 24-year drought for U.S. Women's Figure Skating.
