Keebler Debuts Three New Deluxe Cookie Flavors That Shoppers Are Buying in Bulk
For millions of consumers across the globe, Keebler remains the absolute best cookie you could ever hope to purchase from stores.
Providing the perfect balance a soft or crunchy cookie texture and a sweet, decadent flavor profile, Keebler's cookies continue to stand the test of time as one of the greatest dessert brands you can hope to find in most supermarket aisles.
As iconic as many of its desserts continue to be, Keebler's latest cookie flavors might very well take the proverbial cake as the most exciting in the company's product lineup to date.
According to a recent press release from the company, Keebler is set to officially roll out three product innovations in the form of their new Chips Deluxe portfolio. In particular, the brand confirmed they'll be launching the following flavors:
- Chips Deluxe Chips & Chunks: "Keebler's Chips Deluxe Chips & Chunks cookie was built with one goal in mind: more chocolate. Packed with Keebler Fudge Chunks and a higher percentage of total chocolate inclusions vs. the original Chips Deluxe recipe (33% more). The soft-baked cookie delivers a bigger, bolder chocolate experience with improved cookie texture and aroma that outpaces anything a standard chocolate chip cookie can offer."
- Chips Deluxe Fudge Filled: "For cookie lovers who want even more, Chips Deluxe Fudge Filled is the first filled cookie with a crunchy base in the major market. Other filled cookies use a soft batch exterior; Fudge Filled delivers crunchy chocolate chip cookie on the outside and soft fudge in the center."
- Chips Deluxe Brownie: "Chips Deluxe Brownie brings a rich, brownie-inspired experience to the Chips Deluxe lineup. The soft-baked, thick chocolate chip cookies feature cocoa and fudge chunks for a decadent, chocolatey experience in every bite."
"Our cookie lovers don't settle for ordinary, and neither do we. The evolution of Chips Deluxe is a direct reflection of what consumers have been telling us they want: more chocolate, more indulgence and more magic. Everything that makes every bite worth savoring," said Moyosola Akinkanju, Senior Brand Manager at Ferrero.
All three varieties of cookies are currently available in major supermarket retailers nationwide.

MTV News Legend Kurt Loder Turns 81
Kurt Loder, the legendary journalist who served as one of the most prominent voices of MTV News during the '80s and '90s, turned 81 on Tuesday.
The New Jersey-raised journalist, who started at Rolling Stone in 1979, joined MTV in 1987 as the host of their music news program, The Week in Rock. He later served as an anchor and correspondent for MTV News, frequently breaking into the iconic music network to deliver news, both music-related and otherwise.
Loder's Departure from TelevisionIn 2023, Loder opened up about his departure from MTV and television as a whole.
“I don’t like seeing old people on television," he shared in an interview with Audacy. "Nothing is forever, and if you're gonna do something, you have to realize that some day you won't be doing it," he added. "You don't want to do the same thing forever, that would be boring. The reason you love something would evaporate if you keep doing it beyond the natural lifespan of it."
Reuniting With Fellow MTV LegendsLast year, Loder reunited with two fellow MTV icons: Matt Pinfield and Chris Connolly. Pinfield, whose time on MTV was prominent thanks to his encyclopedic knowledge of music, recently recovered from a horrible stroke that doctors thought he’d never survive. Connolly has appeared on a variety of other websites and news shows and has since moved on to ESPN.
"So great to spend time with my MTV Brothers, Kurt and Chris again..Such a great night at the amazing @juliettehohnen’s Birthday Party. My dear friend and @mtv host extraordinary alumni got many of us back together last night!!! Here with my old friends that I love and was so fortunate to work with, these two legends.@kurtloder and @chriscconnelly," Pinfield captioned the shot, which showed Loder to his left.
View this post on InstagramIs This the Most Stylish Amenity Kit Ever? Etihad Teams Up With LANEIGE
Even if an international flight on Etihad Airways isn't on your immediate calendar, their latest launch is tapping into two major trends that every skincare obsessive and "resort-core" lover has on their radar right now. The airline just unveiled its "Destination Collection"—a series of 14 collectible amenity kits that feel less like airline freebies and more like the high-end accessories you’d find in a boutique hotel gift shop.
The big draw for beauty fans is the exclusive partnership with LANEIGE, the cult-favorite K-beauty brand known for its "glass skin" results. Etihad is the first airline to bring the brand onboard, tucking hydration heroes like the Water Sleeping Mask and the Berry Lip Sleeping Mask into these new kits. If you’ve ever walked into a Sephora, you know these products have a massive following for their ability to revive "travel-stressed" skin, making this a major win for anyone who values a glowy arrival.

The bags themselves are designed to be "collectible keepsakes" that fit perfectly into the larger trend of vacation-ready, vibrant accessories. Ditching the standard drab airline colors, these kits come in two styles—Pouch and Slim—and feature 14 different colorways inspired by global hubs. From the sunny yellows of Krabi to the deep jewel tones of Lisbon and Mumbai, the bags are embossed with geographic coordinates and a serial number, giving them a limited-edition feel.
Arik De, Etihad’s Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer, notes that bringing the design in-house allowed the airline to create something "authentically Etihad" that feels "personal, curated and beautifully considered." By pairing the science-backed hydration of LANEIGE with a bag that’s cute enough to use as a tech pouch or a poolside clutch long after you land, they’ve managed to turn a flight essential into a genuine lifestyle accessory.
Whether you’re actually flying to Abu Dhabi or just looking to replicate that premium-cabin "Etihad Wellbeing" vibe at home, the message is clear: the most stylish way to travel in 2026 involves a pop of color and a lot of hyaluronic acid.

Aldi’s $8 Entertaining Must-Have Has the Most Genius Space-Saving Feature
I love entertaining at home, don't get me wrong. It's so satisfying to set the table more decoratively, fluff the pillows, and have everything exactly where I need it (unlike how my house looks most days of the week). But planning a gathering at the beach? Or packing up for a picture-perfect afternoon at a gorgeous park? That's when hosting becomes a whole different adventure. Because as dreamy as oceanside snacks and sunset picnics sound, hauling all the drinks, cups, snacks and serving pieces to your destination can feel like an Olympic event.
Here's how it usually goes: you envision effortless elegance and quickly realize you're basically a pack mule with a charcuterie board. That's why finding entertaining essentials that are actually practical feels so rewarding. If something can look cute, serve a real purpose, and somehow not take up half your trunk or storage closet? That's such a grown-up win.

Frankly, collapsible serveware, like the Crofton Collapsible Beverage Dispenser at Aldi, might just be one of the smartest hosting hacks out there. Anything that helps you bring the party without the bulk is exactly the kind of fabulousness outdoor entertaining needs. It's really a "now you see it, now you don't" type of situation. Just expand the dispenser when you're ready to fill it up with your favorite beverage, then make it compact when it is empty.

The Crofton Collapsible Beverage Dispenser is all kinds of perfect—with little legs to make putting a cup under the tap super easy for dispensing a beverage. And there's even a handle on the lid for easy carrying. The whole thing is plastic, so you don't have to worry about any shattered glass in the event of an accident.
If the light blue colorway shown above isn't really your jam, the same collapsible dispenser is also available in red for only $7.99. So you do have options. In fact, Aldi is really leaning into blue and red right now ahead of Memorial Day, which makes sense. It's also selling a 12-piece glass food storage container set in blue and red that will actually make meal prepping for your warm-weather festivities a total breeze.
I'm probably going to grab at least two of these collapsible dispensers—one for lemonade, one for sangria—that way I'll be party-ready all spring and summer long.

1993 Newbery Medal Winner Named One of the Most Popular YA Dystopians of All Time
With the Newbery Medal to its name and more than 12 million copies sold worldwide, The Giver is often listed as one of the best children's novels of all time. The 1993 dystopian novel by Lois Lowry has been lauded as a masterpiece for over 30 years, and is listed on Goodreads as one of the most popular YA books ever.
Readers have long listed the book as one that's left a huge impact on them saying, "There are still lines, moments, in the book that give me chills," and, "In these days when memories, and indeed history, are being overwritten by bland sameness we still think of Lois Lowry," when recounting their time reading Lowry's novel.
The Giver follows 12-year-old protagonist, Jonas, who lives in the Community, a society built on "Sameness" that has all but eliminated pain, suffering, and even color. The novel opens with Jonas facing his Ceremony of Twelve, where his will be assigned his life's work by the Community's Elders. Jonas is ultimately chosen to be the new "Receiver of Memory," meaning he alone will receive all memory of life and the world before the Sameness. In his training, Jonas begins to learn the dark and harrowing truths behind the Community, and must face the reality of his life and escape towards freedom.

Themes in The Giver include memory and how that shapes society, perception and choice, and the novel even explores eugenics to a certain extent. Despite many academics believing it should be required reading, the book is often subjected to censorship. The American Library Association listed it as one of the most frequently challenged books over since its publication in the 1990s.
While themes of The Giver may be on the heavier side for a typical YA story, readers have long praised it for the way it shaped them upon giving it a first read. Lowry herself has said of the novel that it explores, "the importance of human connection…the vital need for humans to be aware of their interdependence, not only with each other, but with the world and its environment."

NYT Hails Up-and-Coming Ashley Padilla as 'Saturday Night Live's Next Breakout Star: 'She is Carrying the Show'
Ashley Padilla might have first caught audiences' attention through a fart-centric sketch on Saturday Night Live, but already the 32-year-old comedian is becoming the next big thing to debut on the long-running NBC comedy series.
As audiences pay closer and closer attention to Padilla's natural comic abilities on the show, many critics are singling her out as SNL's next breakout star, a rare designation reserved for only a few hallowed legends who have stepped foot on Saturday Night Live's soundstage.
In particular, critics like those at The New York Times were quick to highlight Padilla's effective comedic timing, most especially her dramatic pauses that help make the punchline of every joke that much sharper and more rewarding.
"Such scene-shifting patience has become a hallmark of the breakout season of Ashley Padilla, who in only her second year on SNL has become a hilarious new comic voice, someone likely to define the sensibility of the show for years to come," The New York Times said of Padilla.
"Cutting her teeth at the Groundlings in Los Angeles, Padilla brings an actorly nuance and subtlety to her goofy sketches, specializing in ordinary types (teacher, office worker, suburban mom, girl who just had sex) performed with oddball lovability," the newspaper continued by saying.
In addition to the prestigious publication, average viewers were quick to agree with The New York Times' glowing assessment of the 32-year-old, with many writing complimentary words on Facebook emphasizing Padilla's gifted comedic presence.
"She was freaking hilarious in yesterday's episode," wrote one fan. "The one with the mashed potatoes made me laugh so hard my sides hurt. She's the next Tina Fey."
"She is elevating her level and is quickly becoming a very vital cast member," added another account. "The passing notes skit with Ryan Gosling was beyond hilarious."
"Why is she still a 'featured player'? She is carrying the show!" added a third user.

'His Beautiful Voice Hasn't Left Him': '80s Icon Still Sound So Good 40 Years After Debut
The Pet Shop Boys are one of the most successful and influential electronic pop acts of all time. Over forty years after the release of their biggest hit, "West End Girls," Neil Tennantand Chris Lowe are still playing to packed crowds, proving the relevance and impact of their music is as timeless as "West End Girls" iconic opening chords.

One fan gushed Tennant’s "beautiful voice hasn’t left him."
Another added, "you guys look and sound amazing."
"71 years old and sound the same, look excellent…" shared one more.
Neil Tennant’s Voice Remains a Defining Sound @petshopboysofficialChile 🇨🇱 Dreamworld is back! PetShopBoys VinaDelMar
♬ It's a Sin (2018 Remaster) - Pet Shop BoysTennant’s understated vocals helped define the Pet Shop Boys sound. Known for his half-spoken, half-sung delivery, his style has always felt detached, even slightly ironic, creating the perfect contrast to the synthesizer-driven sound that dominated 1980s pop music.
A Band That Continues to EvolveThe Pet Shop Boys have never relied on nostalgia. Instead, the band continues to evolve and experiment, creating immersive live shows that draw large crowds around the world.
Thanks to Tennant’s distinctive vocals and the band’s continued evolution, a Pet Shop Boys concert is an experience that bridges generations rather than simply taking fans back in time.
Why "West End Girls" Still Resonates TodayOver forty years after its release, "West End Girls" still triggers huge reactions. The iconic opening synth line is instantly recognizable, and the song feels more like an anthem than a nostalgic throwback.
The Pet Shop Boys’ ability to stay true to fan expectations while also evolving can be attributed to the song’s message. At its core, "West End Girls" explores themes of urban life, politics, sexuality, and loneliness—topics that remain relevant today. The track blends rap-style vocals with moody synths that still feel fresh.
Lasting Impact and Global Influence"West End Girls" became a global No. 1 hit, and the band has sold over 50 million records worldwide. Their music has influenced generations of pop artists, particularly through their use of visuals to create immersive live performances that have become a standard in modern concerts.
A Legacy That Continues to GrowThe band’s recent tour stop in Chile is a reminder that the Pet Shop Boys may have made their name in the 1980s, but their impact, relevance, and popularity remain as strong as ever.
On This Day in 1984, a 'Profoundly Weird' New Wave Hit Became Duran Duran’s Last UK No. 1 and First U.S. Smash
Duran Duran ruled British New Wave in the 1980s, and one standout hit marked both their final UK chart-topper and their first major U.S. No. 1.
"The Reflex" captured the band at their most experimental and ambitious. The song blended slick production with an offbeat energy that helped push it to the top of the charts on both sides of the Atlantic.
In fact, the song achieved a rare double milestone, defining two very different points in the band's success story. "The Reflex" had the unusual feat of becoming Duran Duran's first U.S. No. 1 and their final UK chart-topper.
According to the website On This Day in Music, Duran Duran topped the U.K. charts for the final time on May 5, 1984, with "The Reflex." In the United States, the band grabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard charts in June 1984.

The song hailed from the band's third LP, Seven and the Ragged Tiger. It was released in late 1983 and yielded three hit singles: "The Reflex," "Union of the Snake," and "New Moon on Monday."
RELATED: ’80s New Wave Legends Say Late Lead Singer Would Be ‘Proud’ of Rock Hall Nod
The song was the leadoff on the LP and had a runtime of over 4 minutes. According to American Songwriter, the band tasked producer Nile Rodgers to remix the track, and it was that version that hit big with listeners.
The outlet wrote, "Rodgers went bold with 'The Reflex.' He used early sampling techniques to create the stammering vocal effects that became so iconic. And he brought deemphasized elements of the original, such as the female backing vocalists, to the forefront. He also shaved the song down to a more single-friendly running time."
RELATED: An ’80s New Wave Ballad Makes an Unexpected Comeback — and It’s Pure Nostalgia
However catchy the song was, its most unforgettable element was Simon Le Bon's songwriting. Fans were confused as to what "The Reflex" actually meant.
In a 2015 interview with Absolute Radio, Le Bon said of the song, "It's a kind of childish song. There have been times when I've felt a little tired of it, but that's also to do with the fact that people always ask me what the song's about, and I never tell people what songs are about."
Duran Duran bassist John Taylor added, "It's a really interesting lyric," bass player John Taylor added. "You wouldn't hear a lyric like that today. The early '80s was really great for profoundly weird, paranoid pop lyrics."
The LP Seven and the Ragged Tiger was the last Duran Duran LP with the full lineup of Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes, Roger Taylor, and Andy Taylor until they reunited for the 2004 album Astronaut.
Duran Duran continues to perform and release new music. The original lineup is in place, without guitarist Andy Taylor, who is battling prostate cancer.

Paris is Finally Getting an Airport Express Train—Here's Everything You Need to Know
Getting from Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) to the "City of Light" has long been a rite of passage involving the crowded RER B commuter line or the unpredictable traffic of the A1 motorway. But the commute is about to get significantly more sophisticated. According to Euronews, the long-awaited CDG Express has officially secured a launch date: March 28, 2027.
Designed to compete with world-class airport links like London’s Heathrow Express, the new line promises a seamless, high-speed connection that will redefine how travelers enter the French capital. Here's the breakdown of the new service and the other major transport shifts coming to Paris.
Related: I’ve Visited Paris Countless Times—These Are the Best Hotels for a Stay in the City of Light
The 20-Minute DashThe CDG Express will connect the airport directly to Gare de l’Est in the 10th arrondissement. Currently, the RER B takes roughly 34 minutes to reach the neighboring Gare du Nord (and that’s on a good day without strikes or maintenance). The new express line will cut that journey to just 20 minutes.
Trains are scheduled to depart every 15 minutes, running from 5 a.m. until midnight, seven days a week. While a specific ticket price hasn't been finalized, according to reports, children under 16 will ride for free, and local residents with a Navigo card can expect discounts up to 40%.
Related: 7 Best Things to Do in Paris in April, According to a French Fashion Blogger
The "Gare" ConnectionThe launch of the train coincides with another massive infrastructure project: a new pedestrian tunnel connecting Gare du Nord and Gare de l’Est. These two stations are only 500 meters apart but currently require a street-level trek or a short Metro hop. By Spring 2027, the 800,000 daily passengers moving through this hub will be able to navigate between the two via a climate-controlled underground link, making transfers to the Eurostar or other European rail lines significantly easier.
More Metro MagicThe CDG Express isn't the only new rail on the horizon. Paris is also moving forward with Line 17, a new addition to the Metro system that will link Saint-Denis to the airport.
- Mid-2027: The first section between Saint-Denis and business aviation hub Le Bourget Airport is expected to open.

9 Books Releasing This Week for Those Who Need Romance, Wackiness, and So Much More!
Whether you’re looking for romance, horror, or something in between, the multitude of book releases each week makes sure there is something for everyone. May 5, 2026, is no different, whether you’re looking for a memoir from a literary great or you’re in the mood for something darker and twistier.
It can be hard working through the full list of releases and finding something exciting. Here are nine that stand out across the genres, both from authors you know and authors you may not just yet!
Grand Central
‘True Crime: A Memoir’ by Patricia CornwellWhen it comes to literary icons, Patricia Cornwell will stand out for many people. Her Scarpetta books have been in households for the last three decades, and she is not slowing down! The TV series on Prime Video was just released — and more than worth waiting for — and she recently sat down with us at Parade to talk about that and the memoir we never thought she’d write.
Cornwell gets into the darker moments of her past, leaving us with our jaws on the floor. It’s a chance to see how she has pushed through life, regardless of what it threw at her, and she makes it clear that she didn’t do it alone. If you’re used to memoirs that tend to be on the drier side, True Crime will show you how it’s meant to be done. Sometimes, you’ll forget that it’s non-fiction with the way the prose flows.
Berkley
‘Our Perfect Storm’ by Carley FortuneAfter Cornwell’s memoir, you will definitely need something lighter and more romantic. Our Perfect Storm by Carley Fortune is the next must-read of the week. The Canadian romance author has succeeded again, bringing us a love story that feels like it could be real, while also bringing in elements of recent Canadian history to set the stage and tone.
As I said in my review for this one, you will need tissues because there is a moment that will make you sad. It’s not to do with the main couple, but it still made me need to put the book down for a second and recoup. However, this moment is so important for Frankie’s journey, and it makes it essential reading.
MacMillan Publishers
‘Enormous Wings’ by Laurel FrankelHow about something a little more wacky? What could get wackier than a 77-year-old pregnant woman? Yes, that’s what you’ll get with Enormous Wings by Laurel Frankel, and it’s a lot of fun to read and figure out. Within the fun are some important topics to think about, including bodily autonomy and female agency.
It all starts with a minister cutting up her driving license, making her realize that her life has to change. And so, she sells everything she has and accepts that she can no longer drive. The only option for her is to move into a retirement home, and that’s where things take a strange turn. Now she’s pregnant, and everyone wants a piece of her, making it very difficult to live the remaining years the way she wants.
Courtesy of Disney Hyperion ‘Body Count’ by Codie CrowleyFor those who love YA horror, Body Count by Codie Crowley is likely already on your list. I will say this is slightly steamier than a traditional YA, but it’s a lot of fun and brings up some excellent topics of greed and debts. Of course, there’s a hint of romance mixed in with the supernatural horror.
This is one of the novels of the week that I would love to see turned into a movie. There’s an underwater djinn of sorts, but each wish comes at a price. As Sundae realizes that there are prices she’s unwilling to pay, she decides not to make that third wish, but the monster isn’t exactly willing to let her not uphold her end of the deal she didn’t know she made!
Random House BFYR
‘That Which Feeds Us’by Keala KendallAnother horror is That Which Feeds Us by Keala Kendall, and this one is going to make you think more of the world. That Which Feeds Us is a Hawaiian gothic horror, following Lehua, a Hawaiian native who traces her twin sister’s disappearance to Kōpaʻa Island Resort, the wealthiest resort on the island.
While she’s there, she learns much more than she bargained for when it comes to her state’s dark and twisted history. Kendall has done her research into her own home, bringing up important topics that aren’t going to sit easily with many. And that’s the point! This is a story of reclamation and truth, and we need to stop reading the history written by the victors.
Keeperton | Arndell Books
‘The Heart You Kept’ by T.L. SwanWe’re heading back to the romance, and this time it’s from BookTok’s icon, T.L. Swan. After the success of the Miles High Club, she’s here with The Heart You Kept, the first in a new series of romances. Yes, there is still the same steamy romance packed into this novel, but there are some very different characters.
Alora Sorenson thought she’d moved on from the man she spent a secret weekend with in the Swiss Alps, but life has a way of throwing curveballs. That’s what it does when billionaire casino owner Edward Prescott walks back into her life. This time, she may not be able to get him out of her head.

‘The Library of Flowers’ by L.C. ChuIf you need a story about family and legacy, then The Library of Flowers by L.C. Chu is the next one that’s more than worth checking out. It also touches on belonging and identity, two things that a lot of people, especially women, struggle with. There’s a magical element to the story, as it follows the Hua women, who have used magical perfumes to help stir the hearts of emperors, billionaires, and others who wield power.
In the fifth generation, an eldest daughter is born wit the ability to summon true love. That is the power that Lucy is supposed to have gained, but when her magic fails, she decides to flee from Vancouver to Toronto, where she can live her life the way she chooses, running a tiny perfume shop. When a family death brings her back home, she has to face the loss, the unwelcome feelings, and forgotten truths.
Penguin Random House
‘Young World’ by Soman ChainaniIf you loved The School of Good and Evil, then you’ll want to check out Soman Chainani’s YA debut, Young World. This is an immersive story, inspired by many of the realities Gen Z is facing, whether it’s the frustration of constant crises or the disillusionment with politics. It’s a must as a physical copy due to the in-world visuals packed throughout.
This geopolitical thriller follows an average teen, who ends up igniting an uprising around the world due to one action: a video urging people to write him in as president. Of course, viral videos are those least planned, and suddenly, this teen finds himself in the Oval Office and having to figure out how to fix the problems everyone around the world wants him to.
Penguin Random House
‘The Library After Dark’ by Ande PliegoWhen you want mystery, fantasy, and dark fairytales, you need to turn to The Library After Dark by Ande Pliego. It’s a blend of Agatha Christie and Stephen King, but with a bit of the Grimm Brothers thrown in there. Everyone needs to find a way to survive the night, but it’s hard to trust anyone else when every single person is a suspect.
Throw in hidden passageways, and you get another Clue-like thriller — similar to Pliego’s You Are Fatally Invited — with puzzles to solve with the characters. This is much more than a story to keep you entertained, though. It’s a love letter to the stories that have come before, creating a literary world we can escape to.
Jon Cryer Reveals 'Complicated Relationship' with Charlie Sheen Years After Public Feud: 'I Had a Lot of Mixed Feelings'
Less than a year after participating in 2025's Netflix documentary aka Charlie Sheen, Jon Cryer is breaking his silence on his long-standing relationship with his former Two and a Half Men co-star.
Appearing on the May 1 episode of The View, the 61-year-old Cryer discussed his participation in the documentary in spite of his distant relationship with Sheen: something brought on by Sheen's highly publicized dismissal from Two and a Half Men and his subsequent public attacks against Cryer.
“It was interesting,” Cryer said. “I had a lot of mixed feelings about being a part of it because obviously he’s a very complicated guy and we had a complicated relationship.”
“Mostly I realized that I wasn’t mad at him anymore; I was still kind of mad at America,” the actor continued. “Because when he went off the rails and went crazy, a lot of people seemed to enjoy that.”
As Cryer mentioned, Sheen's personal life famously spilled over onto the set of Two and a Half Men, leading to accusations of substance abuse and unpredictable behavior that hampered the show's production.
After cutting season eight of the show short, Sheen made several disparaging remarks about series showrunner Chuck Lorre, eventually leading to his dismissal from the show. Following this, Sheen continued making offensive comments about Lorre, Cryer and his eventual replacement on Two and a Half Men,Ashton Kutcher.
“I knew him as a friend, as a coworker, and so it was really painful to see all that and see that craziness and see a lot of people enjoying it,” Cryer said. “So that’s part of why I kind of wanted to, obviously, say my side of the story.”
As for whether he's willing to bury the hatchet with Sheen, Cryer said he would be willing to sit down with his former co-star and let bygones be bygones.
“Yeah, I would,” the Pretty in Pinkactor said. “I mean, it’s funny because every now and then an article comes out that we’re arguing and it’s just not the case.”
1956 Hit Film Classic, Nominated for 4 Oscars, Had Its Shocking Ending Changed
In 1956, moviegoers flocked to see The Bad Seed. Based on Williams March’s novel of the same name, the psychological horror thriller starred Nancy Kelly, Henry Jones, Eileen Heckart, and child actress Patty McCormack. The movie followed the story of Rhoda Penmark (McCormack), an eight-year-old hiding a dark secret about her involvement in the murder of a classmate.
The Bad Seed was a box office hit. It was nominated for four Academy Awards, including a Best Supporting Actress nomination for McCormack. Heckart and McCormack were also nominated for Golden Globe Awards for their roles, with Heckart winning Best Supporting Actress.
McCormack played the sweet-faced but evil protagonist in both the 1954 stage and 1956 film versions of The Bad Seed. But the endings to the two productions were very different.
The novel and stage version ended with Kelly’s Christine Penmark poisoning her killer daughter and taking her own life, but the film version hit a roadblock when that ending was presented.
"In the play, the mother shoots herself and dies, while Rhoda survives her mother's attempt to poison her,” McCormack, now 80, told the Abbeville Meridional in 2016, per MeTV. “So no one was left alive who knew what Rhoda really did. But they changed that for the movie because the Motion Picture Production Code of the 1950s wouldn't permit movie criminals to go unpunished."
An alternate endingAccording to Turner Classic Movies, when director Billy Wilder wanted to make The Bad Seed independently, he was stopped by the Production Code Administration's (Hays Code) censorship rule, which banned movies “dealing with criminal activities, in which minors participate, or to which minors are related."
Warner Bros. director Mervyn LeRoy worked around the problem with an alternate ending—SPOILER ALERT— that showed little Rhoda being karmically punished for her crimes by being struck by a bolt of lightning. LeRoy also incorporated a cheeky curtain call at the film's end. After the cast was introduced and took bows, Kelly put McCormack over her knee and spanked her.

McCormack tried to separate herself from the characterFor decades, McCormack tried to distance herself from her pigtailed Bad Seed character.
Speaking on the It Happened in Hollywood podcast in September 2025, the actress admitted, “Back then, there was that awful, awful thing of being a one-hit wonder. … So I did my best to separate myself from that role and reputation.”
Over time, she grew to appreciate her performance—and her evil character. “[Broadway] director [Reginald Denham] was the one who really guided my performance,” she recalled. “He told me that no matter what, I was always right. If you think about that when you watch it next time, you can see I have no patience for any of the adults’ opinions when they don’t coincide with my own. I didn’t focus on the gore. I focused on being selfish and kind of chilly.”
“My character went against the grain of what was expected,” The Bad Seed star added. “She’s a rebel in sheep’s clothing, because she dresses really nice and pretty. … Rhoda had a lot of stuff for a seemingly delicate little girl.”

1998 Smash Hit From Faith Hill Made ACM Awards History 27 Years Ago Today
On this day 27 years ago, Faith Hill celebrated a historic night at the 34th annual Academy of Country Music Awards, with the country singer dominating at the award show and taking home four awards.
The career milestone was made possible thanks to the success of Hill's third studio album, Faith, and in particular, her chart-topping single, "This Kiss." The song was first released in February 1998, but it was still flying high the next year at the ACM Awards. Throughout its initial run, "This Kiss" topped the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, while it also peaked at the seventh position on the Hot 100 chart, an impressive performance for any artist.
Ahead of the awards show, Hill had the most nominations, with six, while her husband, fellow country star Tim McGraw, was also nominated for a few awards, including one with Hill. The couple didn't have a guarantee that they would win any of the awards that night, but on May 5, 1999, they both ended the night as major winners.

Hill made history as she took home four different awards that night, the most of any artist there. This included Single Record of the Year for "This Kiss," Top Female Vocalist of the Year, and Video of the Year. The last award she won was Top Vocal Event of the Year for her song "Just to Hear You Say That You Love Me" featuring McGraw.
As for McGraw, he also won one of the biggest awards of the night for Top Male Vocalist of the Year.
While Hill won for "This Kiss," she didn't perform the song at the ACM Awards. Instead, she sang another one of her No. 1 hits from her Faith album, "Let Me Let Go." McGraw also took to the stage that night with his song "Please Remember Me."
