Anticipation continues to build for the highly anticipated film adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s best-selling Children of Blood and Bone, but one notable voice who isn’t backing the film is the series’ original author, Adeyemi herself.

Earlier this year, Adeyemi publicly decided to walk away from the film adaptation of her 2018 fantasy novel, revealing the negative experiences of working on the upcoming movie.

“What I’m about to share is not a secret to the people involved,” Adeyemi said in a five minute video on social media (via Variety). “It’s a reality that I’ve had to live with for about a year and a half, and everyone involved, at least at the highest level, has been made aware of this reality, and they haven’t done anything to make it better. If anything, they’ve only antagonized me, and I accept that. But I also accept if I don’t say something, I think it’s just going to be worse.”

After leaving the set “sobbing and hyperventilating,” Adeyemi claimed that she was still antagonized behind the scenes by those working on the movie adaptation.

“I’m not going to speak on what I endured to make it through the young adult trilogy, and I’m not going to speak about everything that I also suffered through or endured to make the adaptation a reality,” Adeyemi said. “I’m actually only going to speak about what happened after I left that set of my own film adaptation, hyperventilating and sobbing. There are many witnesses, so it’s not really a secret. I came back to America and suffered such severe somatic pain and so many panic attacks. I knew it was so bad that I would never ever be able to watch this film, and I made peace with that.”

“And as I am still being antagonized behind the scenes, which is where I hoped all of this would stay, it’s become apparent to me that reality needs to at least be made known, so that you guys can understand how this film, which I worked on to make it a little better for us to be alive, is also the worst thing I have ever had to live through,” the author continued.

Adeyemi’s critically acclaimed debut novel, Children of Blood and Bone, arrived on bookshelves in 2018. It was followed by two sequels, Children of Virtue and Vengeance and Children of Anguish and Anarchy, released in 2019 and 2024, respectively.

Nearly four decades after Gary Paulsen’s “Hatchet” became a staple of bookshelves and classrooms, the beloved survival story is heading back to the screen.

Netflix is developing a new feature film based on Paulsen’s 1987 young adult novel, according to Variety. Derek Cianfrance, the filmmaker behind Blue Valentine and The Place Beyond the Pines, will write and direct the new adaptation.

“Hatchet” tells the story of 13-year-old Brian Robeson, who becomes stranded alone in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash. His only tool is a hatchet his mother gave him before his trip, forcing Brian to learn how to survive on his own.

Published in 1987, “Hatchet” won the Newbery Honor and became one of Paulsen’s best-known books. The story eventually grew into a five-book series. Paulsen followed “Hatchet” with “The River” in 1991, “Brian’s Winter” in 1996, “Brian’s Return” in 1999 and “Brian’s Hunt” in 2003.

The upcoming Netflix film is being produced in partnership with Paulsen’s estate, which Variety reports had kept the rights off the market for years. The estate was also involved in choosing Cianfrance to take on the adaptation.

Andrew Mittman is producing through his company 1.21, which is also behind Netflix’s hit series Wednesday. Kai Dolbashian will executive produce through the company. Jennifer Flannery and Sandy Weinberg, who represent Paulsen’s estate, will serve as executive producers alongside Ruth Wright Paulsen and James Wright Paulsen.

While the Netflix project marks a major new adaptation of the book, it won’t technically be the first time Brian’s story has made it to the screen.

“Hatchet” was previously adapted as the 1990 television movie A Cry in the Wild. The film starred Jared Rushton as Brian and also featured Ned Beatty and Pamela Sue Martin.

The new project therefore arrives 36 years after A Cry in the Wild and 39 years after Paulsen’s original novel was published.

Netflix’s Hatchet also comes as the streamer continues investing in survival thrillers. According to Variety, the project follows Apex and Thrash, both of which debuted with more than 36 million views earlier this year.

Paulsen, who died in 2021 at age 82, wrote more than 200 books during his career, many drawing on themes of wilderness, adventure and survival. But “Hatchet” became one of his most enduring works, introducing generations of young readers to Brian and his fight to survive alone in the Canadian wilderness.

Casting and a release date for Netflix’s Hatchet have not yet been announced.

Pitbull, 45, sat down with Billboard to explain why he’s kept his six children away from the public eye all these years, explaining “they’re not built” for the world just yet in relation to his fame.

The Grammy-winning rapper has ever only publicly identified two of his children, Destiny and Bryce, with his former longtime partner, Barbara Alba. He’s made it a point to keep the names, ages, and personal lives of his other children largely private.

Speaking with Billboard, Pitbull explained that his decision to keep his children out of the spotlight stems from love and a desire to protect them. He said he wants them to decide for themselves how they wish to present themselves to the world when they’re older.

“So look, when my kids get to a certain age, which some are, and they wanna make their own decisions as far as how they wanna live their life and how they want to welcome the world to it, that’s on them. But if you’re a kid, 3 years old, 5 years old, early teens, and you’re taking a picture with me and we’re posting it to the world, I’m letting you into my world now,” he explained.

The rapper also adds that his fame and status play a role in wanting to keep people out of his private life. He admits that he can be involved in situations that may have nothing to do with him, and his children can become targets.

“If today or tomorrow I’m in a certain country, and I come across some situation that has nothing to do with me because my name will always put me in a situation to be guilty by association,” he explained. “That’s why I’m very private on what I do.”

As a result, Pitbull explains that he doesn’t want his children to be a part of his very public image. He believes they’re not ready for it, and it’s his responsibility as a father to protect them from it for the time being. The rapper does it out of love and only wants his children to foster relationships that are genuine.

“I don’t wanna put them in my world ‘cause they’re not built for it yet,” he said. “And then it’s my responsibility as a parent to protect them. So if I put you in my world and now you go to school and everybody like, ‘Oh, ‘cause you’re Pitbull’s kid, and you’re Pitbull’s. Come here.’ How are you gonna ever know who’s your friend?”

Not only are details about his children kept private, but also of his relationships. His only reported romance was with Alba, and details about who the mothers of his other children are are largely unknown. He’s been linked to women in the past, but the “Time of Our Lives” singer is notably tagged as being single.

Katey Sagal, who is best known as Peg Bundy on the comedy Married… With Children, looks better than ever almost 30 years after the series ended.

Sagal, 72, rose to stardom as the giant-haired Peg, a lazy, self-indulgent wife of Al Bundy, played by Ed O’Neill. Wearing a giant red hairdo and stiletto heels on the hit FOX series, which ran from 1987 to 1997, Sagal was a fan favorite while the series courted plenty of controversy in the media. Also starring Christina Applegate and David Faustino as the couple’s children, the show was a huge success thanks to its brash humor.

While the show has been off the air for almost 30 years, Sagal is looking better than ever. “My husband is six years younger than I am,” Sagal said of her husband, Kurt Sutter, while appearing on Ted Danson’s podcast, Where Everybody Knows Your Name. “And when we met, he was like, ‘I don’t wanna have any kids.’ And I was like, ‘Okay, ‘cause I have about five minutes left if you wanna have kids.’”

However, Sutter changed his tune a little bit later.

“About five years in, we started really talking about it, and so we did the whole surrogate process,” she continued. “This is Esmé, my sweet Esmé, who’s 19. She’s my favorite right now. Kids, I love you all.”

Sagal has two other children with her late ex-husband Jack Cameron White: Sarah Grace and Jackson, Entertainment Weekly reported.

Winning the lottery once can change a family’s life forever. For one Canadian couple, however, lightning has struck twice, with another major prize arriving eight years after their first multimillion-dollar win.

Angelina and Edward Lado of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, are celebrating a second lottery victory after winning the top prize in the Set for Life Scratch’N Win game. The couple previously won $2.5 million in 2018, making their latest windfall an extraordinary repeat of their earlier stroke of luck.

According to VOCM, the Lados won their first prize after purchasing a Multi-Millionaire Scratch’N Win ticket. Their second win came after Angelina bought a Set for Life ticket, which offered the couple a choice between receiving $1,000 a week for 25 years or taking a lump-sum payment of $675,000.

The couple chose the lump sum.

Edward initially struggled to believe the news when Angelina told him they had won again. He recalled telling her to calm down until he could return home and check whether the ticket was genuine, according to Daily Hive.

After verifying the ticket, the couple discovered that their good fortune had returned once again.

Their plans for the latest winnings are focused on their family. The couple said they intend to put the money toward their children’s education, helping them get a head start in life.

“We will think about anything else along the way, but for now we are just digesting the moment and letting it sink in,” Edward said, according to Daily Hive.

The couple also emphasized that they do not want to rush into decisions about their newfound money. Instead, they plan to take their time and consider their options before deciding how to use the winnings.

Their story is particularly remarkable because winning a major lottery prize twice is an exceptionally rare occurrence. Although lottery tickets offer the possibility of a life-changing payout, each game has its own odds, and a previous win does not increase a player’s chances of winning again.

For the Lados, though, the second victory has created another opportunity to invest in their children’s future and give their family greater financial security.

Rik Emmett said he lost all his hair after Triumph’s recent comeback tour, revealing that he was diagnosed with alopecia areata following a “crazy summer.” 

The guitarist is now preparing for more shows with the band, though he said his health and energy levels will play a bigger role in the upcoming schedule. 

Triumph recently returned to the road for the first time in more than 30 years, and Emmett initially had some reservations about coming out of retirement. In a interview with “Talkin’ Bout Rock,” he recalled discussing the decision with his wife, who encouraged him to consider the health benefits of getting back into shape.

“I went to my wife, and I said, ‘I don’t know – should I come out of retirement? I don’t think I want to,’” he recalled.

His wife suggested they start by weighing the pros of returning to the stage. Emmett pointed out that touring would require him to lose 15 to 20 pounds, potentially with the help of a personal trainer. 

“She said, ‘Well, honey, we don’t even have to do any more pros and cons. That’s reason enough for you to do it. You’re gonna get your health back, and that’s a great thing.’”

Emmett said he “felt great” during the tour, but his summer took an unexpected turn. While he and his wife celebrated their 50th anniversary, he began losing his hair and was diagnosed with alopecia areata.

“My wife and I were having our 50th anniversary, and my hair started falling out. … I had alopecia areata, and I lost all my hair. So it was like, ‘That’s not so great,’” he recalled.

The guitarist is still figuring out what his hair loss will mean for his appearance onstage when Triumph returns to touring. He suggested fans might see him wearing hats, but emphasized that he feels physically strong enough to continue performing.

“I’m sort of dealing with that and coping with that. And I’m not exactly sure how that one’s going to play out before the tour. You may see me as a guy wearing a lot of hats,” he said. “But however it plays out, I feel good. My health is good. I’m strong, and I feel like I can play and sing – not every night.”

The comeback tour also gave Emmett a better sense of his physical limits. After performing four nights straight during the first leg, he told his bandmates he wasn’t willing to repeat that schedule. 

“On the first leg, we … played four shows in four nights, and after the fourth night. … I said to everybody … ‘I’m never doing this again. I’m never gonna play four in four nights,’” he recalled. 

Rather than performing night after night, Triumph plans to leave more time between concerts so he can recover physically and protect his voice.

“It’s gonna be very spread out, and it’ll make it a lot easier for me to survive physically and for my throat to make it,” Emmett said.

The Halloween giveaway follows a new Subway-commissioned survey that found plenty of Americans have experienced lunch regret. According to the survey, 66% of U.S. adults said they at least sometimes regret what they choose for lunch.

Among the reasons? Thirty-five percent said they ate something unhealthy, 34% said their meal didn’t fill them up and 28% said their lunch wasn’t worth what they paid.

The survey also found that 70% of Americans regularly skip lunch at least once a week.

The promotion is also tied to Subway’s “Feed Your SUBconscious” campaign, which launched in September and features actor and comedian Will Arnett as the voice encouraging customers to choose Subway.

Nowadays, it’s hard to imagine what the state of horror might look like without the supreme achievements of Wes Craven’s 1996 horror classic, Scream.

Upending every pre-established convention around the slasher subgenre, Scream cemented one of the most popular horror franchises in pop culture history, ushering in several belobed sequels in the decades that followed.

In spite of its undeniable success in the mid ’90s and beyond, however, Scream star Matthew Lillard admits he didn’t have a high opinion of the movie while they were initially filming it.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Lillard recently revealed his thoughts and experience while shooting Scream during a panel at New York Comic Con.

“I was in the back of a car, driving home from work one night, at like six in the morning, covered in blood,” Lillard recalled.

At the time, Lillard said that he and his co-stars were busy discussing which projects they’d be turning to next, with Lillard saying that he had recently filmed a pilot that he expected would launch him into a career in the TV industry.

“And I’d literally just been on a pilot, and I’m like, ‘This movie’s lame. Nobody’s gonna see it. I’m going to go become a television star,’” Lillard said of Scream.

As it happened, however, the pilot Lillard starred in ultimately came to nothing, while Scream itself has continued to achieve further levels of success over three decades later.

“That pilot never went, and here we are 30 years later,” Lillard said, mentioning that “nobody could have possibly ever imagined” what the franchise would become.

Released in 1996, Scream famously follows a group of high school friends stalked by the masked, horror movie-obsessed serial killer, Ghostface. Starring Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox, the series has spanned six sequels, the latest of which, Scream 7, arrived earlier this year.

When The King of Queens made its debut in 1998, the Spooner family had three members featured in the episode: Arthur (Jerry Stiller), Carrie (Leah Remini) and Sara (Lisa Rieffel). But just six episodes later, one of them was gone—and the show never explained why.

The pilot episode, which originally aired on Sept. 21, 1998, featured Carrie’s sister Sara, a struggling actress who moves in with Carrie and her husband Doug Heffernan (Kevin James) into their Queens, New York home. The Sara character had a pretty big role in the pilot and appeared in three more of the first six episodes of the classic sitcom. And then she just disappeared.

The King of Queens had a long run, with nine seasons on CBS. But once the Spooner sister was written out, it was implied that Carrie was an only child who had to deal with her dad Arthur’s crazy antics on her own. No explanation for the move was given, but a blurb on IMDb explained that producers couldn’t “think of any storylines to develop Rieffel’s character,” so she was quietly eliminated from the show.

Interestingly, a sister-like character, dog walker Holly Shumpert (Nicole Sullivan), was added to the show in Season 4 and became a friendly companion for Arthur.

Rieffel didn’t disappear from the entertainment world completely. After The King of Queens, she logged a few more movie and TV and movie roles before stepping away from acting in the early 2000s. Since 2003, she’s been the lead singer of the L.A. based pop-rock band Killola.

Rieffel, 51, told Creative Loafing Charlotte that she put a hold on acting to focus on her music career.

“I’ve been acting since I was way little, like 5 years old,” she said in 2010. “I put it on hold. I was never able to do weird things with my hair or sleep until noon or get crazy tattoos or stay out late. Finally, I said that music was something that I really, really want to explore. I’ve been in a band since I was 19 years old. We could never go on tour because I’d have auditions or work. I put it on hold because music to me is amazing that it’s the quickest creative outlet that instantly gives you what you’re looking for — whether it’s rehearsal or singing in a room or singing in a shower.”

Nearly 30 years after Rieffel’s short-lived stint as a Spooner, fans still talk about her character and wonder what might have been.

In the r/kingofqueens subreddit, one fan noted that Rieffel’s character was “never really given the chance” to develop.

“I’m not sure why they hired her in the first place if they didn’t have any storylines for her,” one commenter noted.

“They could have made her a character that came and went. Kinda like Arthur’s brother.” Another noted. “Making Carrie an only child after we knew she had a sister that lived with her was just foolish.”

“She probably would’ve gotten all the storylines that eventually were written for Holly, but it would’ve been more complex to resolve those episodes if she was the sister, as opposed to neighbor or annoying cousin,” another chimed in.

Other fans said it would have been “a completely different show” had Rieffel stayed on.

“King of Queens imo was the story of a husband/wife dealing with insanities of life while at the same time dealing with the… insane dad moving in and causing more chaos,” one fan reasoned. “Having Sara would have made it… just some family members living together… I think it was a case of having too much.”

Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger once had one of Hollywood’s most infamous rivalries, but the Rocky star said they are both on good terms.

During a PaleyFest NY 2026 panel on Saturday, Stallone compared his relationship to Schwarzenegger to the dynamic between his Tulsa King character Dwight Manfredi and rival mobster Bill Bevilaqua, according to PEOPLE.

“There’s a certain camaraderie… there’s a respect,” Stallone said. “We’re very similar types.”

“It’s like me and Schwarzenegger,” he added. “We’re good friends now. We’ve gotten mellow. But you have these two adversarial guys, and sometimes you really find that in real life, that just continues to up your game. That’s it.”

PEOPLE reported that Stallone and Schwarzenegger’s feud dates back to the 1977 Golden Globes. Stallone said Schwarzenegger laughed when Rocky lost in every nominated category except Best Motion Picture – Drama.

Stallone also said in a 2014 Jimmy Fallon interview that he hated the Terminator star. He recalled that Schwarzenegger sometimes tricked him into starring in films that would bomb at the box office.

“Well, we were very competitive. Yeah, I think hate’s a good word,” Stallone said. “Did you ever hate someone so much you go, ‘I got to [beat] them.’ A musician will go, ‘Oh, I hate this guy. I’m going to blow him away at the next audition.’”

“I really respect this guy. I think he’s brilliant,” Stallone said about Schwarzenegger. “What he’s done, what he’s accomplished, he’s had three different careers. But I want to strangle him. I did.”

Though the two actors were bitter rivals throughout the ’80s, their feud started to fade in the ’90s when they both invested in the Planet Hollywood restaurant chain, according to The Sun.

“All of a sudden, I started working with Robert Eearl and Keith Parish to create the Planet Hollywood franchise, those restaurants,” Schwarzenegger said in a 2025 interview with Andy Cohen. He added that he thought working with Stallone was a “good idea, because it could bring us together.”

“At that point I had grown out of my craziness,” Schwarzenegger said.

Kyle MacLachlan opened up about a past audition that made him reevaluate himself as an actor and learn which roles he’s just not comfortable playing.

In his new memoir, Fictional Selves, the 67-year-old actor spoke candidly about not landing a role in one of TV’s biggest drama series and how he learned he wasn’t actually a good match for the character. Widely known for his work on Twin Peaks, Desperate Housewives, and Sex and the City, MacLachlan once set out to save lives and break hearts at Seattle Grace Hospital on Grey’s Anatomy.

“It is 2004, and I am back in L.A., auditioning for a new ABC hospital show, this one set in the Seattle area,” MacLachlan wrote in his book, per Entertainment Weekly. “The part I’m reading for, Dr. Derek Shepherd, is in my general wheelhouse. I know this kind of guy. I can be this kind of guy. I don’t know if I have the requisite smolder appeal to get cast as this kind of guy.”

For some context, the pilot episode opens with Dr. Derek Shepherd waking up on the floor after having a one-night stand with intern Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo), only for her to find out the next day that he is an attending neurosurgeon and her boss. Dr. Derek Shepherd, who was ultimately played by Patrick Dempsey, is known for his charm and good looks, so it’s no surprise his character earned the name McDreamy.

Despite feeling like his audition went “pretty well,” MacLachlan knew deep down that this role wasn’t the right fit: “I sense they want something more for this guy. Something dreamier. And that’s just never been in my comfort zone.”

“I’d like to be the romantic lead, the heartthrob,” he continued. “But I don’t quite know how to do that. That thing. I believe it’s a quality a person is born with; it might not be written in the character, but when the actor or actress has it, they become an object of desire for the audience.”

“I always feel that if I were to try to project that, I’d get laughed out of the room,” MacLachlan wrote of McDreamy’s particular allure. “I’ve got no problem believing I’m a malicious character, even a cartoonish one, but something about the smoldering type is beyond me. A certain kind of confidence is required to be that person, and I just don’t have it.”

Well, it may have been a blessing in disguise because two years later, MacLachlan landed the role of Orson Hodge on Desperate Housewives. His character came with his own unique charm and sophistication, but this time, it added a troubled past and a manipulative personality.

“Look, I tried. We can’t all be the dreamy type. But the friendly new neighbor who maybe murdered his wife? Yep, that’s me.”

Reba McEntire and Dolly Parton were friends for decades. It still took a camera operator to tell Reba what Dolly did for her sitcom crew.

“The day Dolly died, we were filming Happy’s Place that day, and one of our camera operators, Jeff, came over to me and he said, ‘Did you know that when she was doing the Reba show, she had those little Valentine hearts and gave one to every crew member?'” McEntire said in a new interview.

She hadn’t known.

“She treated everyone equally. No matter what you did on the set, you were treated equally,” she said. “And everybody admired that and felt so seen, and it was precious.”

Dolly’s ‘Reba’ Episode

Dolly played Dolly Majors, Reba’s real estate rival turned potential boss, in “Reba’s Rules of Real Estate.” The episode aired April 15, 2005, according to episode records.

McEntire remembers her as “a hoot.” “She was always the first one there, ready to go, knew her lines, and just giggled and laughed,” she said. “We had such a wonderful time.”

Dolly even got to poke fun at herself. In one scene, she told Reba they weren’t “comparing apples to melons.”

Why It Still Matters on ‘Happy’s Place’

Some of the crew on Happy’s Place, McEntire’s current sitcom, also worked on Reba. She says Dolly’s example is how they run things now.

“We all treat each other equally and fair and caring and treat ’em nice,” she said. “And that’s what Dolly did.”

Dolly died in August at 80. The two had known each other since McEntire met her at her Grand Ole Opry debut, 49 years ago.

McEntire shared a tribute on Instagram after she got the news. “Dolly, thank you for all the wonderful things you did for us here on earth,” she wrote.

One of Alice Cooper‘s most notable and longest relationships of his career was with Cindy Lang, which began in 1967. The rocker revealed in his memoir that Lang had an abortion early on when they weren’t ready to be parents.

In his new memoir, Devil on My Shoulder, Cooper revealed that the two had only been dating for a year when she got pregnant. They met during the rise of the rock scene in Detroit, Michigan, while out having drinks, and he was “smitten” the moment he met her.

The “School’s Out” singer remembers his parents not being pleased with his relationship. More importantly, they weren’t happy that Cooper was “sleeping with her out of wedlock.” When it came to Lang being pregnant, it wasn’t the end of the world, as Cooper described, but it wasn’t ideal.

“They let her crash on the living room sofa, and she and I had to grab whatever intimate time we could whenever we could,” Cooper wrote. “Then she got pregnant. Could things have gotten any worse? I don’t know if my parents knew, although it wouldn’t have been the end of the world if they did.”

Both Cooper and Lang were scared of finding out if she really was pregnant, and instead, his sister was the one to find out the results. Neither of them was ready to become parents, and Cooper explained in his memoir the reality of abortion in relation to his religious upbringing.

Cooper’s parents raised the rocker as part of the Church of Jesus Christ, also known as the Bickertonite Church, a denomination within the Latter-day Saint movement. He explained that they considered it a “serious sin,” but handled it in a “pastoral” way rather than “political.”

“It has never engaged in public anti-abortion activism, treating it instead as a private moral issue between the individual and God, and requiring repentance and spiritual counseling rather than excommunication,” wrote the rocker.

He also admitted that he “never took any responsibility,” but he did worry if the baby was his. The “No More Mr. Nice Guy” revealed that Lang was “far from being a Goody Two- Shoes” and was allegedly “sleeping around.” He makes clear it’s not an accusation, as he too wasn’t monogamous or a saint at the time.

“I told myself there was only a one‑in‑five chance I was the dad,” wrote Cooper.

Lang ultimately decided to have an abortion, as Cooper explained it wasn’t the right time for them. Cooper wrote that he and the band weren’t making enough to pay for the expensive procedure at the time, and Lang “scraped money together” to get it done in Detroit. He felt guilty and terrible that he couldn’t “afford to buy her a plane ticket to get there.”

The two were together for six years, until 1975. He would later marry Sheryl Goddard in 1976, and Lang died in 2017.

Crockett and Tubbs are back, and they look the part!

The official Miami Vice ’85 Instagram account shared the first photos of Austin Butler as Sonny Crockett and Michael B. Jordan as Ricardo Tubbs on Monday, Oct. 12. “Michael B. Jordan is Tubbs,” one post reads, and both say the movie is “now in production.”

42 Years After the Original

The original Miami Vice premiered on NBC on Sept. 16, 1984, and it ran until 1989.

Don Johnson played Crockett and Philip Michael Thomas played Tubbs, two undercover detectives working the streets of Miami. Johnson is now 76.

The new movie is “inspired by the pilot episode and first season” of the show and dives into “the glamour and corruption” of mid-’80s Miami, according to its description.

Who Else Is in ‘Miami Vice ’85’?

The cast also includes Alden Ehrenreich, Whitney Peak, Camila Morrone, Danny Ramirez, John Leguizamo, Andrew Schulz, Edi Gathegi, Walton Goggins, André Holland and Michael Irby.

Leguizamo has been here before. He made his TV debut on the original series in 1986.

Dan Gilroy wrote the script, based on the characters Anthony Yerkovich created for the show.

When George Strait took “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” to No. 1 on the country charts in 1987, the tongue-in-cheek track instantly became one of the most beloved breakup anthems in music history.

With its witty lyrics detailing memorable romantic mishaps from Galveston to Abilene, fans naturally assumed the track was purely comedic fiction. However, late country songwriting legend Sanger D. “Whitey” Shafer later revealed that the iconic song was pulled straight from his own colorful dating history, though he admitted he had to make a few clever tweaks to keep the romantic peace.

According to American Songwriter Shafer reportedly had a series of exes in Texas, where he originally lived, before settling in Tennessee. First featured on Strait’s hit seventh studio album, Ocean Front Property, “All My Ex’s Live in Texas” quickly dominated the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart at No. 1, later snagging a Grammy nod for Best Male Country Vocal Performance.

Throughout the track, Strait croons about his deep affection for his home state. However, there’s an unfortunate circumstance: he can’t return to Texas without running into his past loves Rosanna, Eileen, Dimples, and Allison.

“This song is a true story, kind of,” Shafer said during an appearance on Country Road TV, as reported by Wide Open Country. “I changed the names to protect the guilty. I changed the names of the towns, too.”

According to Songfacts, “Whitey had already used the rhyme ex’s and Texas in a different song that was never recorded. He came up with a new variation while he was at a golf tournament and brought the idea home to his wife. Together, they brainstormed a new song with a bit of geographical help courtesy of a travel guide.”

His wife Lyndia added, “The Mobil Travel Guide and Whitey’s melody, and away we went!” The website continued, “In the song, the only safe way Strait can travel to Texas is through Transcendental Meditation, a technique created in the 1950s by Maharishi Mahesh Yogi in India.”

In the end, Sanger D. “Whitey” Shafer’s clever relationship song paid off for everyone involved. While the real women behind Rosanna, Eileen, Dimples, and Allison got to keep their anonymity, country music fans inherited an enduring classic. His words allowed George Strait to score another country classic, cementing his place in the genre’s history.

Marilyn Monroe’s Los Angeles home was significant not only because it was the first and only house she owned, but also because the 2,900-square-foot property has a fascinating story of its own.

In February 1962, the Hollywood A-lister purchased the 1920s Spanish-style bungalow for $77,500.

It was a major milestone for the actress, model and singer because it was her first real estate purchase.

Located at 12305 Fifth Helena Drive in Brentwood, Los Angeles, California, the property featured a modest hacienda-style design, with high walls and surrounding gardens that reflected the actress’s desire for privacy and her longing for a place to call her own after years of living in rented apartments and hotels.

Monroe’s home originally featured two bedrooms and three bathrooms, a garage, a guesthouse and a gated entrance for privacy.

The interior had a warm and homey feel, with stunning Spanish tiles complementing the dark wood paneling, furniture, art and tapestries that she handpicked during a trip to Mexico.

Beyond decorating the interior, the A-lister also put a lot of personal effort into making her Los Angeles estate feel like home by creating a garden with herbs, lemon trees and flowering plants.

The home’s entrance features the Latin phrase “Cursum Perficio,” which translates to “My Journey Ends Here,” an inscription that has taken on added significance.

Unfortunately, just months after purchasing the property, Monroe was found dead on Aug. 5, 1962 inside her home.

Following the actress’ death, her estate was sold and her belongings were removed from the house.

Monroe’s former residence reportedly passed through multiple owners over the decades, according to Robb Report, undergoing numerous changes and renovations along the way.

After decades of use as a private residence and numerous changes in ownership, the estate was purchased by neighboring property owners who reportedly planned to demolish the house.

However, Councilmember Traci Park pushed to preserve it.

In 2023, the property’s 15th owners, next-door neighbors Brinah Milstein and Roy Bank, acquired the famous house for $8.35 million in an all-cash deal, as reported by Architectural Digest.

However, Park filed a motion to designate Monroe’s house as a historic landmark amid public backlash over the proposed demolition.

“To lose this piece of history, the only home that Monroe ever owned, would be a devastating blow for historic preservation and for a city where less than 3% of historic designations are associated with women’s heritage,” the council member said, as mentioned by the outlet.

A year later, the late Hollywood star’s Los Angeles home was officially granted historic status after being designated a cultural-historic landmark, a move that protected the property from demolition.

In a 2026 update cited by PEOPLE, the owners made a second legal attempt to challenge the historic designation of Marilyn Monroe’s former home.

However, U.S. District Judge Percy Anderson dismissed their amended lawsuit on Sept. 28. The couple’s attorney said they planned to appeal the ruling.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reportedly making plans for the holiday season, and their celebrations may look different from those of the British royal family.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are expected to spend Christmas and Thanksgiving with Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, rather than joining King Charles III and other members of the royal family for their traditional Christmas gathering at Sandringham, according to People.

The reported decision comes after Harry and Meghan returned to the U.K. in August 2026 with their two children, Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 5.

According to People, the couple is planning to celebrate the holidays with Ragland, who lives in California. The location of the celebrations reportedly depends on her preferences, though the family is expected to travel to the United States.

The plans would mean another Christmas away from the royal family’s traditional gathering at Sandringham, the royal estate in Norfolk, England. Harry and Meghan last celebrated Christmas there in 2018, before stepping back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020.

A report from The Sunday Times, cited by InStyle, indicated that the Sussexes do not expect to receive an invitation to the royal family’s Christmas celebration this year, with one source describing the prospect of spending the holiday together as “too awkward.”

Harry and Meghan’s reported holiday plans come as the couple settles into life in the U.K. after returning in August.

Harry and Meghan stepped back from their roles as senior working royals in 2020 and have since built a life outside the royal institution. Their return to the U.K. has renewed questions about whether the move could bring them closer to Harry’s relatives, but their reported Christmas plans suggest a reunion at Sandringham is not currently expected.

Meanwhile, the couple is preparing for a joint visit to Nottingham on Oct. 15, marking their first joint public engagement in the U.K. since their return, according to ITV.

Long before R.L. Stine was giving an entire generation of kids Goosebumps, he was already terrifying young readers with another horror story.

Now, 37 years after it was first published, Stine’s 1989 novel “The Babysitter” is finally becoming a live-action movie.

Tubi announced that it is adapting “The Babysitter” as part of its ongoing partnership with the bestselling horror author, with the new film slated to premiere on the streaming service in 2027.

The story follows 16-year-old Jenny, who desperately wants to earn enough money to attend a prestigious writing program. She accepts a babysitting job despite reports of a prowler targeting girls around town.

Things get considerably more frightening once she’s on the job.

According to Tubi’s official synopsis, Jenny begins receiving threatening phone calls while a dangerous fugitive surfaces in town. As the danger closes in, the teenager starts questioning whom she can trust.

The movie is based on Stine’s original “The Babysitter,” published in 1989. The novel arrived three years before Stine launched Goosebumps in 1992 and the same year he began publishing his hugely successful Fear Street series.

“The Babysitter” also didn’t end with one book.

Stine followed the original with “The Babysitter II” in 1991, “The Babysitter III” in 1993 and “The Babysitter IV” in 1995, turning Jenny’s increasingly frightening experiences into a four-book series.

The original novel centers on Jenny Jeffers, a 16-year-old who takes a job babysitting a boy named Donny. Her seemingly ordinary job takes a sinister turn when she begins receiving menacing phone calls and discovers a threatening note in her backpack.

The book helped establish Stine as a major name in young-adult horror before “Goosebumps” turned him into one of the most recognizable children’s authors in the world.

Stine began his career writing humor before making the leap into horror with his 1986 novel “Blind Date.” “The Babysitter” followed several years later, shortly before “Fear Street” and “Goosebumps” transformed his career.

“Goosebumps” went on to sell more than 400 million copies around the world and spawned television shows, movies, video games and other adaptations. “Fear Street” has sold more than 80 million copies and inspired its own series of movies.

Now “The Babysitter” is getting its turn on screen.

The live-action film will be written by Jem Garrard and directed by Trevor Calverley. Blue Ice is producing, with Lance Samuels, Joan Waricha, Jane Stine and Garrard serving as executive producers.

No casting was announced with Tubi’s initial announcement.

The Babysitter will premiere on Tubi in 2027.
